I ordered a book shelf on Nov. 2, 2014 and after I received it I noticed that one of the side panels was broken and the other side panel had a hole through the wood, so I requested a replacement because I really liked the shelf. It is now Dec. 4, and I still haven't received the replacement! I have called THE ONLY PHONE NUMBER that CYMAX provides to the customer and I keep getting the same answer, "We are waiting for the manufacturer's response." I have asked to speak to a manager and they always tell me they can't get a hold of one. I have asked for a direct number to the manufacturer and they don't give me one. And now I just found out that I will be charged a restock fee if I choose to return it.

I have placed multiple orders for our office furniture for our multiple offices throughout the Midwest. And you would think I would have learned the first time, but every order we have ever placed with them is back ordered and in some cases, back ordered multiple times before we actually receive it. Now I can understand that back orders happen, especially when placing a large order, but when a customer is given an expected delivery date and then the day before get an email saying the order is on back order, that becomes poor customer service.
Now I could chalk that up to just poor timing, but then when I get an email AGAIN (after the shipping date was supposed to happen), my service representative no longer returns my calls or emails and I'm just left with nothing. Now they say you can cancel your order, but what would that do? You can't order it from somewhere else, they will charge you a service fee for your credit card payment and you still wouldn't have any product. My company has to halt production because we have to wait and then given again poor information and dates of delivery. Plus we have already paid for everything because they require payment upfront.
So my advice to ALL who think about ordering from them... DON'T!! There are so many other better companies out there to order from or best yet go straight to the manufacturer. DO NOT GIVE CYMAX YOUR BUSINESS!

Mark from cymax was extremely helpful in resolving my shipping issue. He got on the phone with delivery company and arranged for our pickup. Now we have a beautiful bedroom set that my son can sleep on.

I ordered furniture from Cymax on 11/9 and they selected HomeDirect for delivery of my furniture. For whatever reason, pickup was not completed until 11/19 (don't know why). Also note that the original estimated delivery for my furniture was Dec 4th (at the latest) -- still a long time but I accepted it. Today I received an email saying that the scheduled delivery is Dec 23rd! This is totally unacceptable. I would NEVER have bought the furniture had this been the estimated delivery. My son has already been sleeping on the floor for almost a month and he's supposed to not have a bed for another 21 days just because they use some bogus delivery service? They should have at least offered for me (the consumer) to get expedited service like the majority of online retailers. The worst part is that this furniture is only three hours away but distribution center won't let me pick up. Will never buy from them again -- and do NOT recommend!

I have purchased a dining table with chairs from Cymax.com. A couple weeks later only the chairs arrived, I called cymax and they told me that my table was backordered for four more months. So I went ahead and canceled the order because I cannot wait for months for a dining room table. Now they would like for me to pay $170 to return the chairs that they had sent plus the restocking fee plus the shipping they paid to ship it out to me. So they sent a partial order and then I have to eat the cost. The chairs cost me $290 and to return them would cost me $258! I have called Cymax a dozen of times and they will do nothing to resolve this!

Received the dining set with 4 chairs. One chair was broken. Called for replacement, sent pictures and still waiting for shipment of chair after 3 weeks. I went online to purchase a new chair and it said ships in 1-2 days. So I called Customer service and they told me they do replacements at a lower priority than other purchases. This is NOT acceptable and I will not shop Cymax ever again due to this delay. Very disappointed.

We ordered a sideboard for a lot of money on November 4th. We were notified that it had shipped out on November 12th. When I log into my account on cymax.com I have 3 different tracking numbers. NONE of them work! I called their customer service and after 2 long waits finally spoke to someone that the said numbers were reference numbers and not the actual tracking number! OK.... He gave me the new tracking number and said it should be updated in the next day or two. Well, guess what? The new tracking number also doesn't work! I even called the so called shipping company directly. They have no record of anything being shipped to me. They looked me up by name, address, zip code, and tracking number I received from Cymax.
Suspiciously, the availability listed on my account order page is changing. Now the availability states (in red, so I can see it clearly!) that it is expected to ship no later than November 28th. YET, my order is marked as shipped so I can't just cancel it. I'm certain nothing has shipped and I'm just being given the run around. Will continue to call them to cancel this before I go forward with my CC company directly.

I ordered a Table and Sideboard for my new house in June. The first time I received the table it was severely damaged and the box had gashes in it as well. I called customer service because I could not sign into my account on their website. After several calls and emails with photos, I was told that they would have it picked up and a new table delivered. The company came to pick it up (I thought) but said they couldn't because it was closed back up in the carton as well as it was when I received it. I had to call the company back and stay home another day from work to await the carrier to come back. They picked it up and 3 weeks later another table arrived, and it was damaged as badly as the first. The table weighed over 100 lbs. I told Cymax that I couldn't take another day off for it to be picked up again. They told me to put the carton out on my porch. Again the table weighed over 100lbs and I didn't have any assistance with getting it outside. This is ridiculous! I would not recommend buying anything from this company to anyone!

I order a couch on Sept 11, 2014. It was advertised as shipping in 0 -1 days. Today is Nov 7th, 2014. No couch. Every time I have tried to cancel it I am told it will cost me approx. $400 in shipping fees. I cannot afford to lose that money. If you ever have a chance to buy from Cymax, pass. They are incredibly insensitive and punitive. They also lie about shipment times. In two months I could have picked it up and driven it to CA.

I ordered an executive desk, 1 bookcase, and 2 hutches with bookcases. My order came as scheduled. The desk was damaged on the top and on the draw fronts. There were scratches and the wood was dented. The hutch top was also damaged with a dent and scratches. I called the Cymax customer service number. I was connected to a person who I could not even understand. His accent was so thick I had to keep asking him to repeat what he had just said. The resolution to this conversation was that I would hear back from Cymax within five days. I received an email from them this morning stating I would have to deal with the manufacturer direct. Are you kidding me???? I didn't buy directly from the manufacturer, I bought through Cymax. Why am I, the paying customer being put in the middle of this? I should call customer service, explain the problem, have them apologize for the inconvenience and state my damaged pieces will be replaced and new undamaged pieces will be sent to me. End on conversation. I will NEVER purchase anything from Cymax again. I will also tell my friends on Facebook and anyone else who will listen to me.

Model #TOS-FY633-1-LT-A614-RSF sofa sectional was ordered over month and half ago. Cymax sent wrong color and item #483287 was returned same day through shipper after inspection and papers signed. Cymax was notified same day as well. Have called many times and cannot even get on account for some reason. Item has been paid for in full and still awaiting to see if I am ever going to received said item. No confirmation sent via email. I ordered by phone originally and they are aware of the fact of wrong order. Please respond as soon as possible or I will have to take drastic measures to ensure my money is returned either via Better Business Br Agency here or lawyer. I am frantic and need my sofa or money returned.

Ordered a desk and chair on 10/23. Noticed price on desk was lower the day before and John, salesperson, honored lower price ($805 vs $832). Picked out chair w/ John and met min. for $100 discount. Total of order = $911. On 10/28, order fully charged to CC. On 10/31, receive e-mail at end of business day advising I had canceled order. Within 1 hour, sent e-mail stating that I had done no such thing. Next business day, 11/3, called and was told sales manager cancelled order b/c "they weren't making any money on this" and had initiated a refund. This was a negotiated price that we agreed upon and Cymax even charged my card showing acceptance of the terms. Now, they renege. The difference is $27 but the principle is far greater. They should not be able to change the terms of an agreement once charged. This is wrong.

When ordering it seemed very user friendly. The only problem was that when it arrived, I received the wrong size mattress for the crib. It was a mini mattress for a full size crib. Also, I was told when I ordered that the crib and bed converter was in stock with a 7-day ship date. After the 7 days I received a back order message on the crib and conversion kit, then another, then another. It took over a month and half for the crib to ship.
I have contacted Cymax 3 times on the phone and two times online trying to return the incorrect mattress that cost me $100 and still have not received a RMA. They keep telling me that it is in the system and that I will get an email tomorrow. I asked them when tomorrow will come? I will never buy from this company again and suggest nobody else doing so either until they change their customer service. It cost me over $100 to be dissatisfied, how much will it cost you???

We bought a bed from Cymax and they emailed us that the delivery should be expected between June 17 & 18, 2014. Then seemingly unending shipment delays ensued and communication with Cymax was exceedingly difficult (involving very long holds on the phone). You can imagine our frustration when finally the bed was delivered on July 29th without all the parts. It was in a totally unusable configuration and we had a house guest arriving in a few days.
Given all the Cymax non-responsiveness and delays, we opted not to wait for missing parts and asked a carpenter to finish the bed to take care of our house guest needs and asked Cymax to make us whole. Cymax issue resolution desk was a bit more communicative but was still clearly not willing to concede any culpability asserting that the work we had done was not authorized/agreed upon by Cymax.
I am sharing this experience to alert all potential Cymax customers that there is a good chance that their orders will be mixed up and that they will not get it when they need it. We will never order from Cymax again and you should neither!

I thank Travis, at Cymax for responding to me about my complaint. He explained to me the many reasons that could cause the delay, although it isn't suppose to be back-ordered more than a couple of times, Cymax alone is not always responsible. I was always treated courteously by the Cymax agents and realize they do the best they can for the volume of orders they deal with every day. Since then, I ordered another LR table set and received it promptly and in good shape. Thank you.

I ordered a coffee and end tables to match the new living room furniture I just bought in August. The end tables were back ordered till Sept. 23rd. At the time the order was placed the person asked if I wanted to hold the coffee table till the end tables are available and I said yes. On Sept. 23rd the end tables were available but no longer the coffee table. I was told it was back-ordered till Oct. 1st. On Oct. 1st I received an email telling me the new date for the shipment was Oct. 7th. On Oct. 8th I received another email telling me my order was back-ordered for Nov. 12th. Calling the store, (I had to go through the order dept. in order to talk to a person) I was told by a man named Michael he would put me through and to tell them to call the manufacturer and get a confirmation number.
I was told they could not get a confirmation number as they wouldn't know if the order would be available or not. Needless to say, I felt like I was hitting my head against the wall and getting nowhere, so I had no option but to cancel my order. My order # ** was deducted from my credit card immediately (9/1/14) for $372.76. I have NEVER known of processing a payment even before the order was shipped, and found that an extremely unprofessional way of doing business. I am sure I can find some LR tables to my liking without all this to do I had to go through. Shame on all of you. I will notify the BBB of your practice, and I see that I am not alone.

I've ordered Lifestyle Solutions Zurich 4 Piece Bedroom Set in Cappuccino on August 28, 2014. Almost a month later got it delivered on September 24, 2014. The problem is that they delivered a bed that they can't assemble because 1 box with side rails were missing from the beginning. My question why you deliver a furniture set with missing parts that you can't assemble, but charge money for it anyway? I've called the company right a way. They promised it's gonna be delivered and assembled next week. Waited a week and called them again, got the same promise "you'll get it next week, we'll put it high priority".
Called them today, had to wait 30 mins and surprised - that item I've been waiting for two weeks already is on back order and will be available for shipment on or after October 30, 2014. So the earliest I'll get it first or second week in November. Meanwhile I've been charged for the furniture I'm not able to use for month and a half. I'm considering this practice by Cymax Stores unacceptable, customer service people dishonest. People when placing an order with Cymax Stores be prepared to be charged for the item and not receive it on time, wait month or more till you'll be able to use it.

I recently order two desks and three files cabinets from Cymax. My first desk had two dents on the desktop. Fedex had just dropped it off in front of the office after office hours and when I got the desktop out it had two flaws. I called but was on hold for a long time, over thirty minutes. I left my number like the answering machine said and someone was supposed to call me back but never did. I decided to just deal with it and go on. Now every time I sit at the desk those two dents/flaws are the first thing I notice. Then my first two file cabinets came in and they were fine. The 2nd desk came in and was damaged so I refuse the order and I am still waiting for a replacement there. The packaging of that desk was not very good.
Today, I got the third file cabinet and it has some serious scratches on the side of it but plan to put it up against the wall because I need it and can't wait on yet another return. I've come to the conclusion Cymax sells seconds as if they are first. I don't recommend them to anyone wanting brand new and flawless. I order a pub table from a competitor and it came in faster and was flawless, like you would expect. I give Cymax a poor rating and will encourage others to consider buying elsewhere. Not a quality company in my opinion. I can live with what I have and if it were sold as seconds I would be okay but that's not the case. Most of what I bought could be bought elsewhere brand new and in some cases cheaper.

Purchased a set of furniture from Cymax and received merchandise that was not as described. So far Cymax has not responded in resolving this issue, after 9 attempts at contact. I called Cymax agent prior to making the purchase to tell them that we have a newborn that has health issues with composite board, giving the SKU and asking that the items were solid wood. The Cymax Rep assured me that the items were made of solid wood. We confirmed again that we have a newborn in the home with a special condition and so we cannot have composite board furniture in the home. We received furniture made of composite board.
We contacted Cymax 5 times by phone and 4 times by email. They have been unresponsive except to say in stock emails that that it will cost us $500 in restocking and $400 in shipping to return. I have called and requested to talk to Cymax return department four times. Each time they have told me that I could not speak to the return department, and that they would call me back. I have not gotten a call back, and no messages except a stock email. I just want to have the furniture returned with a full refund.

I ordered a $900 piece of furniture that was attempted to deliver once by one boy. The furniture was so heavy, the two of us could not move it. I was told I would be contacted within three days for redelivery with at least two delivery people. No one called. I called many times trying to remedy the situation. I wasted so much time, energy, effort and money with Cymax. This is the only company I can ever remember having a gripe with, except one gym/fitness facility. Do yourself a big favor and never order from Cymax.

The cabinets were of excellent quality and very sturdy. The directions were clear. The dimensions were accurate and they look like built-ins on either side of the fireplace. I would definitely recommend Cymax.

I ordered 6 conference chairs from Cymax.com. It has been a very pleasant experience. I ordered the chairs because they were the style I wanted, with casters, and the price was below what I expected to pay. They arrived very quickly and everything was perfect. The quality of the chairs is excellent, including the ease of assembly and well laid out parts. All of the difficult part assembly was done at the factory including the casters already installed. I had read that the material had to be removed from the bottom of the cushions, but it was held in place with Velcro so it was no problem at all. I have purchased and assembled many chairs through the years and these were the best ever in price, quality, and engineering.

This company is the worst. Everything is outsourced with very short contact time. If you call customer service you get put on hold indefinitely. You need to call sales to get someone (who barely speaks English). They put my furniture on hold for no reason, there is no one to speak to and they have my $$$$. (almost $3K). After being on the phone for over an hour yesterday with some rep saying he would try to expedite my order; I see it's pushed off even longer. THE WORST. I used furniture depot in the past who were great. Stay away.

Our agency ordered a padded bed for an individual with mobility issues which could cause her to fall and injure herself. The bed was ordered on 6/10/14. A 10-14 day delivery was indicated at the time of the purchase. On 7/10/14, I went on-line to check the status of the delivery and could see that it had made it to a warehouse in GA. After a week of speaking to representatives of 3 different trucking companies, I was able to contact Travis at Cymax who attempted to get answers for me. For the next month, a round-robin of emails and phone calls were flowing between Travis, myself and trucking company employees, including account representatives to get this bed delivered. On 8/18/14, I attempted to send an email cancelling the order 3 times and received a response from a general customer service mailbox telling me that the email was undeliverable. I also left a message on Travis' voice mail to confirm that the order should be cancelled.
The charge for the bed appeared on the July MasterCard bill. We began proceedings to dispute the bill via MasterCard and were awaiting a response from them.On 9/4/14, I received a voice mail from Travis to "touch base" with me on the resolution of the problem. I left him a voice mail reiterating that, as far as we were concerned, the order had been cancelled and MasterCard would be recouping the full amount on our behalf. Today, 9/16/14, Travis called and I let him know that the bed never arrived; it was successfully ordered and delivered from another vendor; and we are waiting for notification from MasterCard that the amount has been credited back to our account. Travis took the information and spoke to his colleagues before calling me back to tell me that the full amount will be credited in the next 3-5 business days. Although this entire situation has been regrettable, I have to say the Travis has maintained a very professional and helpful demeanor throughout. Unfortunately, the experience has ensured that we won't be purchasing anything from Cymax in the future.

I bought a shoe rack from Cymax, the rack came in broken and I complained about it the next day after delivery. It took them multiple weeks to respond and finally on 4th Sept they told me that they will be emailing me shipping labels to send it back, but it is already over 2 weeks and I haven't heard back from them. Sent multiple emails but seems like they don't care.

I ordered a hutch from this company on September 9th 2014. An hour later which was 12:47 their time, I cancelled the order. No response from them. I sent more emails the next day to cancel this item. They told me it was too late and the item was already shipped. I cancelled this order in plenty of time for them to cancel it. They ignored my email and shipped it anyway. In the meantime, they offered me a 10% discount if I didn't file an A-Z claim. The order shows up to my doorstep early when I had planned on taking off work to not accept the order. I take the order back to FedEx where they tell me that they have to have a return ticket from CYMAX, who told me to take it there in the first place. Called CYMAX and they said 3-5 days... What!! The policy says 2 days. Do not order from CYMAX!!!!

I called in two days after placing my order (before Shipping) spoke with a rep. in order to see if I could change the shipping address as it was a gift from my mother in-law and it was being sent to her house. I was told that it wouldn't be a problem and I just needed to send the rep the correct address. It took 5 days to ship the product and it was still sent to the wrong address. My mother in-law then had to pay to have it shipped to me. I received the product yesterday, opened it today and there was three broken pieces in so I couldn't even put it together. I now have to wait another week to even put my new changing table together and it is jousting in pieces on the nursery floor. Joy for me. Thank you so much for making this easy.

Ordered a chair from the salesperson over phone. Waited longer than promised for delivery. Company sent chair in wrong color. Called and was on hold for over thirty minutes. Finally manager said chair would be swapped out. Called two weeks later, and was assured that correct chair would be sent that day. Chair arrived. Wrong color. Ps. The wrong color is noted on the outside of the box. Called. On hold. Promised a return call that business day. It never came. Call came the next day while I was at my job. Still have wrong chair. Matches nothing. When people come in the living room and notice the contrast in colors, we tell them that this is still the chair that they said they would replace. How they stay in business is beyond me.

I ordered this kitchen island and it looks great! The price was very reasonable and delivery came sooner than I expected. The only problem was that it came completely unassembled when I was told that it comes in 2 pieces and very easy assembly.

I really like my experience with Cymax. The delivery process was very fast. My bed I ordered was here the same week. The best part about the experience was putting the bed together. The instructions are so detailed it's almost like a child can do it. At the end of the day the product came out great, and I will be ordering from Cymax again very soon.

I placed an order 2 weeks ago for a bedroom set. My order confirmation stated the items would arrive 2 days ago, and part of the order would arrive 5 days from now (items haven't even shipped yet). When I login to my Cymax account, the status continually shows "in process". No updates, no phone calls/emails or any sort of notification as to why my order has not been shipped. I am guessing I will be on hold with them forever today as I try to see what is going on with my order (they aren't open right now). I already had an issue early on where they put a hold on my order questioning my identification/credit card info. I spent 30 minutes on hold and continually tried to email them the info they were requiring. Never have had so much trouble trying to buy something. Ever. Worst online purchasing experience ever. Cymax doesn't communicate effectively. They should notify customers if shipments are going to be delayed. Do Not Order From Cymax.. Consumer beware. I ordered a 3 piece coffee table set via phone from Cymax. 2 days later I had a very lengthy hold to simply request a confirmation of my order. After that my shipping dates continued to become past due. I became alarmed because my checking account had already been charged for the merchandise. To make a long story short, the merchandise was not even in stock. My order was cancelled and I was promised a full refund. I have yet to see my money. Cymax has one of the worst customer service departments I have ever dealt with. Long, long wait times, empty promises and lies. This company, after reading reviews and my own personal experience, is a SCAM and should be shut down.

The island was delivered in 3 boxes so nothing is too heavy to handle. They arrived by FedEx in only a few days. The finish, materials, fit and overall quality was better than expected. Assembly went very smoothly. We are very glad we made this purchase. One lesson learned, was don't overtighten the cam screws or they will sink in too far for the cam heads to catch. There was one flaw in the product which was one of the hinges that was bent, but we corrected it ourselves in a vise. The legs slide out to support the breakfast bar and this clever design works very well.

I was looking for a saddle style bar stool 24" high that didn't stick out too much. (It was going on the end of the bar and we have to walk around it.) I also wanted a dark brown color. This bar stool checked both boxes. Hubby didn't seem to have too much trouble putting it together and took about 1/2 hour. Would buy again.

I placed an online order in July for a Sorelle Vista combo hutch and dresser. Before I paid, I asked the agent if she was sure that both hutch and dresser were included at this price $450.00 and she said yes. After a month, I received the hutch and no dresser. I called Cymax upon delivery and an agent by the name of Kathleen ext ** promised to rectify the situation once she ran it by her supervisor. She assured me I would get the dresser. She said to give her a call tomorrow, 8/24/14 so I did. After many hours to Kathleen's extension, she picks up and tells me that they no longer have the dresser and that I could buy one for an additional 500 some dollars. I said to her I wanted to return it that I was very unhappy and she said, "Well, you're responsible for 30% and delivery charges." Please help me. I sacrificed to get this furniture for my daughter and now it looks like Cymax has ripped me off and I did have no use for a hutch with no dresser. Thanks. Although the product was not ordered thru eBay, this was the advertisement.

BUYERS BE REALLY AWARE!!! I thought in my 50 yrs on this planet I had seen everything. But this one takes it. I placed this order in February 2014. Finally got a date set for delivery 2 months later in April. The day of delivery around 5 pm I had not heard from the carrier. After somehow getting through they inform me the truck has had an accident & will try in about a week to have what will be left on the drive way totally damaged, no one at home, no signature required on a Saturday afternoon... AFTER SEVERAL phone calls & a complaint to American Express they had a new one reordered... fast forward to June 6th, get an email it is in route to be delivered... fast forward August 9th, received an automated recording it has been set for the 19th. I called several times before the day to make sure the carrier from out of WVA would be picking up the damaged piece & delivering the NEW One. I'm told that yes they are in my area this day & will call 30 minutes before time to to be delivered... IF YOU GUESSED WE STILL DON'T HAVE A NEW NON DAMAGED CHEST DELIVERED...you are correct!! I placed an order with Cymax and it took over a month to deliver. Once I got the furniture, apparently the delivery company dropped the box at my front door and wouldn't give me 5 minutes to unbox it for damage or to see if it was complete. Well my curio cabinet came with NO shelves. Now 15 hours later of being on hold, promises that people would return my calls (NO THEY HAVEN'T), I still have no shelves, I still have no date when I'll get my shelves. I am now trying to return the furniture. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE! Do not use them unless you want to get SCREWED and have a HORRIBLE experience!

VERY REGRETTABLE EXPERIENCE WITH CYMAX. Item was delivered almost 1 month after placing the order. Misleading emails about delivery. Took a day off from work Aug 13 - No delivery, no phones. Customer Service from Mumbai - informed it will be coming on Aug 15. They have the gall to say -"Only 2 days late Sir" - totally unmindful that we have to lose pay for ONE day. Aug 15 came and went. No email, no delivery. Called the local transport company. She informed coolly - some pieces were missing. Aug 15 at 6 PM local time, one very discourteous gentleman from Hazen Transport, informed it will be delivered on Sunday. Cancelled all weekend events and waited for the period 12-4pm. Drivers of the local company were, strangely, extremely courteous. Wanted to move on with life, having deleted the annoying Cymax transaction.
On assembly, we discovered that hardware for the bed slats, was missing. Headboard was chipped. Old bed was removed and donated. Bed from CyMax incomplete and unusable. Have to talk to the CSRs again. Fresh delays and patronizing dribbles of compensation. Possibly a CHINESE OR A THIRD WORLD COMPANY.

I was contacted regarding the negative reviews I had left ( which I only posted after trying for weeks to talk to a manager or someone who could actually help ). I have never before experienced such a shameless degree of inexcusably poor 'customer service' as at Cymax. I had ordered the Sanctuary table from the Cymax store at Amazon on 7/30/2014. I had to call Cymax directly to order the accompanying chairs the next day since the Cymax store at Amazon didn't have them. Cymax waited 10 DAYS to tell me the table was back ordered for 3 1/2 months but shipped the chairs, which are of no use to me w/o the table, immediately. When I learned of the 3 1/2 month back order, I called to cancel the chairs. Customer Service is in India with a 1 hr hold time. There is no supervisor you can ever talk to. The CS rep told me 'no problem'.
The Cymax ghosts in power emailed me the next day saying that if I chose not to receive shipment of the chairs I would be CHARGED A $425 RESTOCKING FEE, a $500 SHIPPING FEE and I would have to take care of return shipping costs (presumably another $500). Which means I would get a $200 refund on a $1700 order. I have never been able to talk to a supervisor to resolve this. Supposedly I was to get another email after someone reviewed the circumstances, but I never heard from them. To make matters worse, I found the chairs for $500 cheaper at a local dealer. You can be sure that is where I will the table.

Counter stools - The chairs arrived on time and they were easy to assemble. The chairs looked to be uneven in size but that was by eye balling the merchandise instead of using the tape measure. It took no time to assemble with just the Allen wrench which was included and a Phillips screwdriver. We are sitting on them now and are pleased with this purchase. I purchased a desk and received it less than 5 business days after I placed my order. Shipped by Fedex so that I don't need to schedule a time slot to wait for it. Quality is good. Assembly is a tough work. I spent 5 hours assembling this L-shape desk by myself. If you don't enjoy assembling that'll be a tough work.

I was so impressed with this bookcase. It was delivered on time and took about 4 hours to assemble. All the pieces were there and well marked. Some of the screws were difficult to put in due to almost having to be upside down to get them in. Make sure you read all the directions and double check before you start attaching the nails and screws. It said not to use a power screwdriver, but we used one that was not too powerful on some of the screws and we were glad we did. All in all, I am impressed and love my bookcase with a drawer and closed cupboards on the bottom. I definitely recommend this product.

Flash Furniture Tahoe Bark Chenille Rocker Recliner in Beige - Very appeased by your company prices and offering no shipping to prompt business. I was then very disturbed when I was popping in the top hat into bracket and the R side is offset completely so the back sits crooked. There's a gap on the R side as well since the back doesn't snap in as forward as the L side. This was obviously not Quality Controlled much before sending out or manufacturing the products on the assembly line. I'm trying to move the bracket forward to align forward on the R side in the interim and it seems disturbing since it's a brand new product and wasn't cheap at $300 plus.

I live in Barberton. In November of 2013, I started making payments on a Leather recliner sofa through eLayaway. It was a major purchase for me and my family. I originally paid 960 dollars total. After I completed making payment eLayaway informed me that the sofa I had selected was not available and that I needed to go to Cymax.com website and make a different selection, which I did do - the new sofa was 880.00 dollars. The manufacturer of the sofa is Coaster America. Coaster America shipped the sofa to me on March 25th, 2014. On their web site, it states that all of their products come with a one-year warranty. So I received this sofa and By June it was broken.
My husband flipped it over and you can see the springs literally falling out of the bottom of it. My Husband and I are the only people that use it. We do not have children that climb on it or misuse it in any way. So On June 30th, I contacted eLayaway who told me that I needed to contact Cymax. So at that time I contact Cymax via phone and was told to email them photos of the damage. I proceeded to do this. After not getting a reply after about 1 week, I call them to be told that they have never received anything and to resubmit my emails. Again I do this. I waited another week. Called them again. Again I am told that they have not received my emails and that they had been trying to reach me at an email address of (they said something explicit here at hotmail.com).
At that time I pretty much knew they were not going to help me. But I corrected the Gentleman that didn't speak very clear English about my email and I again resubmitted photos to a second email address that he gave me at that time. I then did receive notice that they were working on my replacement. After not hearing anything further for a few more days, I called again. I received an email offer of 171 dollars from them to resolve my issue and allow me to keep the broken sofa. I replied that this was not okay. What is my next step?
I have looked up the reviews and I see I am not the only person that this company has done this to. I recontacted eLayaway and they told me they cannot help me. It is now August 4th. On July 28th, I was told by a rep that they had received my message that I would not settle for 171 dollars and that they had received approval from Coaster to replace the sofa and that I would hear from the replacements department that day by the close of business. Well, I still have not heard back, so today I called back. I got a rep on the phone and after he asked my account info, he hung up on me. I have emails, photos, recorded phone calls and the return policies from Coaster and Cymax. I also have a broken sofa to support my claims. Please help. I have asked for help from the Better Business Bureau and a local consumer group but have not gotten a reply.

I received the Maple Finish Headboard for a twin bed that I had ordered. The order was placed on 7/14/14. I received it on 7/19/14. It matches my other bedroom furniture perfectly. After opening the carton, I discovered several places in the finish that were defective. There was a light streak running parallel to the curve in the headboard. Then in another place, there was a dark patch that was not natural for wood grain. It was quite obvious someone must have tried to cover something up. Unfortunately, the backside was perfect. Perhaps it was put together wrong.
I would like a replacement but would want it to be checked by Quality Control so I don't have to go through all this again. Why has this company made it so difficult to get through to someone? Judging by the Reviews, I'm not the only one who is having this problem! I have already been charged for this item but will decline payment with my credit card company through Amazon. I will also forward this review to Amazon. Tired of being given the runaround... Just send an RMA number, please.

Cymax took my order, charged my card and DID NOT ship my order. They NEVER were going to ship it. They just kept my money and left my order in limbo - never intended to ship my order!!!!! I haven't received my furniture order yet and it has been 3-1/2 weeks they have had my money. After I called they said, "Oh, sorry, it was a computer glitch." When I asked if they were ever going to ship, they said NOT if I hadn't called. I am very apprehensive about the quality and condition my furniture is going to be. If I hadn't wanted this I sure would have cancelled immediately. Like I said I'm very apprehensive. To me, this whole mess was unconscionable. Oh, and by the way, their customer service department is in India and there is NO WAY to reach someone in the United States regarding this problem. Grrrr.

I purchased the chocolate-color platform bed.... When it arrived it was the heaviest piece of furniture ever. I opened up the box and it Has a 100 pieces to it. It was very difficult to assemble. I'm very good putting things together with no problems but this bed took me till 4 to 9 pm to put together, and I still have the molding to put around the edges of my bed... I was so frustrated with this purchase. I'm glad I didn't order the headboard to this bed.... The instructions didn't help any.... I was very disappointed... I will not purchase anything from Cymax again. Too difficult to assemble.

We recently received our desk. When we went to open the box and assemble it, we found a part was severely broken. We called your customer service number and the agent was very unhelpful, very unpleasant, and in my opinion very rude. His option given to me was not satisfactory, and was told, "That's not going to happen." I had to ask for his supervisor 3 times, before then being put on hold for over 20 minutes, then I hung up after a total of 53 minutes on phone wasted. I would hope someone calls me about this matter and makes it right. Right now my opinion of Cymax is at the bottom of the barrel.

Ordered for kitchen pantry. Most pantries have 4 even shelves. This cabinet has 4 shelves, but split down the middle so you can make 8 different height shelves, plus, you can add more if you're handy! Easy construction and it looks great with my oak cabinets! Very pleased.

At first, when I realized I placed two orders for the same products, immediately the order 'pending', was placed a cancel message. The return message was "We'll review your cancellation order and issue the cancellation in 2-3 days." I was a little apprehensive, so called Cymax and through the automated answers, I was satisfied, the duplicate order will be cancelled, and the Visa payment will be paid back within 7-10 days of cancellation.
On the order ** now in shipping process, I have a question whether or not FedEx will be calling (**) before delivery is made, because I live about 1/2 hour from the school. Thank you so much... am anxious to receive the NEEDED bookcases.

I purchased a loveseat on July 3rd accidentally - I wanted a sofa. When I noticed the mistake, I quickly cancelled my order three minutes later... Cymax charged my card immediately but there was nobody to talk to until the next Monday, when I was told the item might have been shipped. They gave me the runaround and three emails always stating another 5-7 business days are required to get my refund, it is out if their control... blah, blah, blah. I ended up disputing through my bank because they kept lying and lying and three weeks later still no money back. They hung up the phone on me. There is no supervisor or manager to talk to. When I posted comments on their Facebook site, they removed all of them and blocked me. Disgusting Canadian company. Americans, stop buying from them! I'm posting this message everywhere I can.

I am pleased overall with my recent experience. The item shipped on time and was delivered earlier than expected. There were two broken pieces when I opened the box but a quick call to customer service resulted in replacement parts shipped to me with no questions asked. The only drawbacks for me are the fit of some of the pieces and the packaging of the hardware. There are some pieces that don't fit perfectly tightly together - some adjustment may correct most of their issues. The hardware could have been packaged differently instead of everything thrown in together. All in all, the piece was a good value for the price.

Ordered two swivel recliners that shipped faster than expected. Assembly was fairly easy except one of the brackets on one chair's back would not line up to accept the bolt. It looks like the bracket was welded a little out of spec. Anyway, after fighting with it and forcing it, I got the bolt to go into all the holes. I had to use a tool to help line up all the holes then hit the bolt head hard to force it through. This damaged the threads but the nut still went on. The recliner part on one of the chairs is difficult to operate. Chairs are obviously made in China as quality is marginal but the price of the chairs weren't bad. I wouldn't purchase anything else from this manufacturer.

Bought 2 bookcases and when they were put together, we had open spaces at the mitered corners. One on each bookcase. Then we had a finish strip that had a crushed end on it and had to be resent and replaced. Travis was the contact for us and he was very kind and we made an agreement to keep the bookcases as is and was offered a partial refund.

3 damaged shelves; 1 damaged trim board; joints ill-fitting; backing all wonky and could not secure properly. I thought we were buying bookcases of some quality given the price of $118 each. These were terrible and they are together and they don't sit square with each other. One trim board actually bends to the left and there is a narrow space between the 2 bookcases at the top and gradually widens at the bottom. I am embarrassed at how these look. I need to have some shelves replaced and this trim board that was chipped. Also 2 shelves had big chips out of them.

I ordered and received a $99 bar stool. I didn't expect much, but I did expect it to work. I assembled it (easy), raised the chair to test the height adjustment, and it froze there. Can't lower it, can't use the chair. The chair is very low quality, and perhaps for the price that isn't surprising, but it should work. I am surprised Cymax would deal with it. It isn't feasible to return it because then I would have to pay shipping both ways - not financially feasible. I won't be dealing with Cymax again.

I ordered a Walker Edison 70 inch entertainment center. Both Cymax and Walker Edison did not have any internal dimensions of the shelves. Since it was 70 inches in width and advertised as an Entertainment Center one would only conclude that standard size A/V components would fit in this unit. Even the instructions to build this unit (almost 3 hours) did not give measurements. Only after putting the unit was put together did I realize that only 2 of 8 shelves were wide enough to house standard size components. 99.9% of a/v components are 17.1 inches in width and if you have a center channel speaker then the ent center would not hold even the cable dvr let alone the other 5 components unless on their side then only 2 can fit. Cymax will not accept this return. Telephone hold times are in excess of 40 minutes to make matters worse. Cymax solution to this was for me to sell this unit on eBay in an effort to recover some money. Warning, don't do business here!!

I placed an order for what I thought was a corner tv stand based on an item number given to me by a sales consultant on the phone. When the item was delivered it was not the one that I wanted. I received a rectangular unit, not corner. Cymax would not accept responsibility for their error and deducted outgoing shipping, restocking fee and I had to pay return shipping. The cost to me was $170.00 on a $300.00 item. They were EXTREMELY difficult to contact and did nothing to make their error right. I have ordered many things online and mail order and have NEVER had such a poor experience. Buyer beware.

Excellent product. However, there was a large tear in the lamination on one of the pieces. However, because you provided a coloring pen, it saved us both a lot of heartburn. Three stars is because I do not like to receive furniture with tears in the laminate.

Cymax took a month to deliver a loft bed. They missed 2 delivery windows they established and ended up delivering almost 2 weeks from the original date it was promised to be delivered. We received an email stating the item had been shipped on June 9, we were given an expected delivery date of June 18th, the item was finally delivered on July 2.
We tried to get help from Customer Service, but they hung up on us and then made promises that were not kept. The number they gave us for the shipping company would ring endlessly. Cymax does not care.
The quality of the bed is good and it was a great value for the money we paid. However, not only did they miss the delivery time repeatedly but they could not tell me when or if it would be delivered and showed no interest in helping me get an answer. Having a 10 year old's bedroom ripped apart for 16 days waiting for delivery of a bed made that 2 weeks painful.

I am very satisfied with the price of the items ordered. They also shipped very quickly which was a huge plus. One concern is that the packing technique of the items was very, very poor. The file cabinet was in great shape, as was the 36" return. The desk, however, was delivered in one very large cardboard box. It had very little protection for the parts inside. There is a one inch chip on the top edge of the desk as well as a 3" piece of the edging that is sticking out. The largest part of the desk was delivered on a Saturday, when our office is closed, and was brought into the building by the driver. We did not expect it to arrive on a weekend and therefore people who were aware of the return policy (check it right away and send it back if damaged) were not on the premises.

I ordered a twin bed from cymax.com online and I canceled it 2 days after that. It was supposed the item come 24 or 25 but i canceled ordered in 22 of June and instead of accepting the cancellation, they send in 23 of June (1 or 2 days earlier). They shipped and when I did not accept the item, they just send me an email that they are going to refund just half of the amount which it was $107 to me and are going to take $53 for shipping and package. They are thief and one of my worst experience online. I leave negative feedback whenever I can for them to people know them and do not buy from them.

I ordered the Hillsdale Universal Bookcase Storage Platform Bed. The picture (see attached) shows the bed I thought I ordered. Unfortunately at the bottom of the screen (you would have had to scroll down in the browser to see it) was a note that said Wall Storage Unit not included. I didn't see it and instead hit the "add to cart button".
What I THOUGHT I was getting is exactly what is listed as the Hillside Universal Youth Bookcase Storage Platform Bed with wall storage. The difference between the two pieces is the side bookcases. The difference between the two prices is $282.66. However, if you try to order the wall storage (book case units) separately it is $446.95. I called customer service and pleaded my case. I said I'd been so excited because this was supposed to be a 10th bday present for my son, and without the bookcases the bed wasn't what I wanted. I asked if I could pay the difference. They said, "no". I asked if I could pay the difference plus shipping, they said "no". I asked for some sort of concession. I talked to both Michael and Brian in sales and they said the only discount they could offer was 10% and Brian suggested I should "take it or leave it because it was my mistake" and no one would do any better.

I purchased a five drawer chest. I got it two weeks later. There were scratches and dents on this piece. So, I called Cymax, asked for a refund. I donated the chest to Goodwill under Cymax as instructed for the refund. Instead of getting my money back, Cymax shipped another piece of chest to me after they got my receipt for the donation. While, before I got the seriously damaged chest (the second one), Cymax sent an email to me and told me that the chest was damaged so that it could not delivered to me. They asked me if I like to have another chest or refund. I sent the reply message immediately and ask for REFUND. However, I got the damaged chest right out my door the second day.
The deliver guy just dropped the piece even did not knocked my door to tell me about it. Then, I made a phone call and tell Cymax customer service person what has been going on. I was told I need to wait for 3-5 business day to hear their decision of my case. The chest was in my garage right now and I have to wait! That is really bad experience. The chest is in very bad quality. I won't spend a single dollar on Cymax anymore.

I ordered a patio fire table on 5/30/14 and was told it would ship by 6/3 and arrive by 6/12. What a sham! It is now 6/24 and the item still hasn't shipped. I finally asked that the order be cancelled or I would likely have waited all summer for it to arrive. That is not the only thing I am frustrated with. I have spent hours on the phone on hold with the shipping company and with customer service representatives promising they would check the status of the order and then they never get back to me. Dealing with the company was a total waste of my time! Now I only hope they credit my account and I don't have to get my credit card company involved. Take my advice.... spend a little more if it is a good deal.... your sanity will be worth it!

I purchased a futon on June 4, 2014 with a mattress. The mattress came within ten days. The tracking number provided was with ups which was not a valid number. I called and was told I would be emailed. Called again and a rude operator informed me I wasn't getting it by ups, I was getting it by truck and it would be delivered with home direct. Home direct NEVER answers and if you do automated you get disconnected.... As far as I know it's in transit since June 11.....

Poor service if you have to return merchandise for any reason. My reason was the items were made of poor quality. This company will charge you a restocking fee, an outgoing fee and in most case you will have to pay for the return shipment. It is almost impossible to speak to anyone in management and most of the people I spoke to sounded like they were from an eastern country such as India. They were very hard to understand and at times, they did not get a clear understanding of the message I was trying to convey to them.
I have made over 10 calls to Cymax and the wait times were extremely long. Once some answered the line, I was placed on hold for long periods of time. I was promised a refund within 2 business days - from the time of completing an inspection of the items. One service rep said my items passed inspection 06/04/14. I made phone calls after 06/04/14 and the service reps continued to say - there is an inspection delay and my money should be refunded within 2 business days. My last phone call to Cymax was 06/10/14 and a rep told me that they will place my refund request on priority and I should receive my money no later than 06/11/14. Today is 06/13/14. I have no refund. I wrote BBB to help me with my issue and copied Cymax. Hopefully my issue will get resolved promptly. I will NOT recommend that anyone place an online order with Cymax. My experience has been nothing less than a nightmare. A Frustrated Customer.

Having searched extensively for a tall (over 30") corner TV stand, I was happy to find Cymax.com. Using the excellent information, reviews and pictures at their site, I was able to find a terrific deal on a "highboy" TV stand that, while not a true corner unit, would fit well in our corner. We received the item quickly and it was well packaged. There was good communication after our order including tracking information. Purchased a night stand from Cymax. When it arrived it was too red to match our existing night stand. I obtained the required code and address to return the product and on April 7 contacted Cymax to complain that I thought I was dealing with a Canadian company and should be able to return it to a Canadian address. The representative advised that I had to return it to the US address noted. I returned it that day at a cost of $189.19.
Two days later I received a notice that I could return it to a Canadian address and this would have been at a cost of $116.68 - a difference of about $73. I have contacted Cymax at least 2 times after April 7 requesting compensation for the unnecessary over-payment in shipping and for my refund. The contract on their website indicated that it would be refunded within a month of returning it to them. To date I have not received either any compensation or the refund.

Word of advice- be clear what services you get with the delivery.
My wife and I have been buying furniture for our new home for the last year. We recently found Cymax and have ordered about 5 small pieces of furniture from them. We have been happy with the pieces as they have been of good quality, style and prices. The ordering and shipping processes have been fine. We recently decided to purchase a sleigh bed and nightstand for a guest bedroom. Everything seemed to be going well as the order and fulfillment process occurred in a timely manner. The problems started during the delivery process.
When the order was placed with Cymax customer service, we stated multiple times that we needed the pieces to be assembled for us; the Cymax representative assured us many times that was the case. The pieces were delivered within the supplied date and time window as promised. But when we mentioned the set-up commitment, the delivery team politely stated that this was not part of their work order and dutifully showed me the work order where it stated that it was a drop to the service entry only. They were sympathetic but said there was nothing they could do and gave us the phone number of their dispatcher.
We did as we were told and immediately contacted the dispatcher. She also was polite and sympathetic but said there was nothing she could do and gave us the number of another company involved in the delivery chain. Again, we did as we were told and immediately contacted this company. She also was polite and sympathetic but also stated there was nothing she could do and referred us to Cymax.
We contacted Cymax immediately and as with all our other interactions, he was polite and sympathetic but said there was nothing they could do. He reviewed the order and explained the service delivery levels and what they included. He noted that the service level associated with this order did not include assembly. This was the first time any person has reviewed this with us (though if you go to the web site, they do have a section for this information). We explained that this was all new information to us and felt that the person taking the order should have placed the order so that the promise made by Cymax would be honored.
So to summarize a long post; a commitment was made by Cymax and for whatever reason, it did not occur nor were they going to do anything rectify the problem. Thus, the bottom line is stated in the post's subject line: Word of advice - be clear what services you get with the delivery.

I bought a bedroom set which include 2 night stand and a king size bed (total of $2500). After 3 weeks waiting, the carrier informed me they damage the headboard and need to replace, so they send to Cymax a replacement request. But after one month later, I didn't receive any update for the replacement part. So I call Cymax to get an update. Cymax told me they will send me an email within 24-48 hours. So I wait 48 hrs and I still didn't get any update. I called Cymax again. They told me another 48 hrs, so I wait for another 48 hrs. Guess what! Nothing again! I was calling Cymax twice a day. Finally after few 48 hrs that's like 2 months since I purchase their product, they told me the replacement is in backorder! So I ask for a discount!
After few negotiations, they gave me 15% discount. After another month waiting, they finally ship out the replacement. Today, the carrier call me again. They told me they damage the headboard again! Wtf! Then I call Cymax. I was really mad of them. I ask additional 5% discount. They told me, "You can wait until next Friday or you can cancel the order." I was waiting for this bed set for 4 months! Now they just let me wait for another week! They are wasting my time for 4 months! This is my first time buying thing on Cymax store, also it will be the last time! Do not buy anything from them! Because they are suck!!!!!!

Ordered bookcase, shipped and received quickly. It even arrived before a couple things I had ordered earlier from other sites. Putting it together is a little involved, but upon completion is an excellent addition to my living room.
