I ordered a TV stand/unit in Oct 2014. It arrived at the wrong location. I took the blame for that. I called to get the problem corrected. I was told I would have to pay for delivery to the right address. I said I would do that. They said they would have the item picked up and then sent to me.
Nov 2014. 2 weeks later, I called and asked why it hadn't been picked up. And I was told they would take care of it and pay the shipping to the correct address. No cost to me. I said OK. Nov passes and they haven't picked up the item. The individual living at the address it was sent to contacts FedEx and get them to pick the item up because it was delivered to the wrong address!
I call back in again Dec 2014 and tell them the item has been returned to their store. Why can't I get it delivered to me? They also tell me I need to pay the new shipping fee???? They had no record of its return. They look for it. And December passes.
Jan 2015. I call. I'm fed up. You can keep the merchandise and I will take the credit for the item which they have in their possession (for 30 days) (along with my money since Oct). They tell me I have to pay a restocking fee. AFTER all that, they can't seem to deliver it. Find the merchandise which there is a record of having received (they signed for it) and now I am expected to pay a restocking fee. We go back and forth on this for the month of January. Late January, I am told I will get a credit for the difference between the item and the restocking fee credited asap.
February passes. And March is nearly gone and I still don't have a credit to my account OF ANY KIND. After everything they have put me thru, a credit of the entire amount will be the only acceptable response.

Travis, the mediation person, helped me figure out the situation. I received my order and the couches are great. The delay was on the part of the manufacturer. After quite a few phone calls, and some more time, they were able to resolve my issue. Thank you!

I ordered a sofa, armchair and ottoman over a month ago. I have called weekly to follow up on my order as it was marked shipped and my credit card was charged. My order still has not been shipped. The first time I called the customer service representative said they would email the manufacturer and email me when they heard from them. A week later I called again since I never received an email and that customer service agent told me that the previous one sent the email to themselves on accident and it never was sent to the manufacturer. That person then said my items should ship within the week and gave me a tracking number, they never shipped.
I was informed on my last call that my items are on back order and they have no idea when it's going to come in. They called the manufacturer and said that they were told it may come in next week or the week after but there may be orders ahead of mine so it could not be fulfilled at that time. I asked why my card was charged instead of placing the money on a hold and they told me because it was marked shipped that they processed the order, even though the items haven't shipped. So now I'm paying interest on a purchase that may or may not show up ever, I don't know because no one there can give me an answer.

Assembly took a few hours. Some of the assembly instructions were in the plastic bags with the screws and bolts and some of the assembly instructions were glued on one side of the mattress panel so it's a bit confusing having it on a piece you are assembling. Better to have instructions all in one place but the crib is sturdy and looks great.

I absolutely love the bistro set. I renovated my kitchen and it fits perfect in the new setting. Assembling was very easy, all the parts were included with extra screws. I actually enjoyed assembling by myself. Would order from this company again.

Purchased a Sonax 54" Plasma/LCD TV Stand... item arrived quick. The only problem I had was the instructions. You needed to look at the pictures to put the item together. Glad it wasn't difficult to put together... didn't take long either.

Ordered a large TV console Feb 1. Received Feb 16 damaged. Notified CYMAX and had to wait 2 weeks for instructions - donate to local charity in their name. The replacement arrived March 10th and the damaged item was picked up shortly thereafter all arranged by me. Had to be home for 2 deliveries (of course only during business hours) and 1 pick up (again missing work). After sending multiple unanswered emails to customer service, I resorted to posting my opinion online. Only then did someone respond. But, after they realized I had finally gotten the damaged item out and the new one delivered, all communication stopped with the mediator as well. So, all in all, no customer service... the entirely too long, arduous process was all arranged by me without any help or consideration on the part of CYMAX customer service or their mediators.

Nice full size platform bed. Fast shipping and the bed was quite easy to put together. It took me and my son about 20 minutes to put it together. Nice and low to the ground and it holds a memory foam mattress nicely without it falling off.

The bookcase was received in a reasonable amount of time considering all the winter weather from here to Texas. The bookcase was fairly easy to put together and looks great in its place. The bookcase is solid and well-constructed.

I bought a bed frame from Cymax and the wrong part was delivered. When I called to correct the problem, they told me it would take 3 weeks for the new part to come. That was bad news but I was willing to accept it as I seemed to have no choice. As the time got closer, they emailed to tell me the correct part would come on Wednesday. I had planned to put out the wrong size part that morning so they could exchange the parts. But it came on Tuesday instead. So here I was stuck with a heavy, useless piece of a bed frame which they refused to pick it up. As I am a single woman, living in a condo, there was no easy or cheap way for me to dispose of this part.
They gave me the run around which involved three phone calls spread out over three weeks until they finally said they would contact the manufacturer so they could pick it up. Did this ever happen? NO. Was I told not to worry, they would take care of it? YES. Did they lie? Obviously. Very frustrating experience as they seemed to have no sense of responsibility for their mistaken. Each time I called, I got sent to India where I was just given the "yes ma'am" treatment. When I asked if they could at least refund some of my money for all the trouble they gave me, guess what the answer was. If you guessed NO we will not give you a dime, you win.

I purchased a table and cancelled it the very next day because my husband ordered it for me as a surprise. I checked my account and there wasn't a tracking number. I also called CS and they said the table was not packaged or shipped and I cancelled it on time. A couple of days later, I received an email that the table shipped. I also received an email that I would be charged shipping and restocking fees when the CS person said I wouldn't. A table arrived and it was the WRONG table!
ADDITIONALLY, my husband cancelled his order and guess what, a tracking number appeared the very next day. I guess another table is on its way. Cymax is a joke and they take advantage of consumers and lie to them! You can not cancel an order because they will magically give you a shipping number and then charge you restocking fees and more. Not to mention they misrepresent what you are actually buying. DO NOT shop with CYMAX! My situation remains unresolved.

I ordered an entertainment center in Jan 2015. It arrived a month later and damaged. Repeated attempts to get customer service to resolve the matter were fruitless. Thankfully I paid using PayPal and opened a claim. After eating the $172.00 to ship the item back I am awaiting my refund now. Customer service is horrible. They did not respond to repeated emails. Look at other customers' complaints about the same company. This is one of many consumer issues with Cymax.

Stay away from Cymax, period. This company is a sham and fraud. I bought a TV stand from them and color came in different than they had advertised and the TV stand had scratches and some defects upon delivery. I called them severally and was dribbled all through. Initially, they referred me to Amazon and then back to CYMAX and then back to Amazon. Very, very fraudulent retailer. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM CYMAX IF YOU CAN!!!

I recently ordered a bar stool for my desk and it shipping quickly and is extremely comfortable. It also allows you to adjust the height with a wide range of height levels. I'll be ordering again.

We actually quite impressed with the selection Cymax offers. At any rate we order four stools and were notified several days later they were on back order, not a problem as we liked the selection made. In reading their fine print, we saw it could be a challenge to cancel the order as they intimate you have to get their permission to do so, so we let a sleeping dog lay...so to speak.
Some weeks later they advised us the manufacture would ship said stools, three weeks later we finally got them. On assembly they were easy to do, we placed them at our island, and they really made a nice fit. Once sat on one of them had a leg give away from a cold weld, so we immediately contacted Cymax, who asked us to send a picture of the damaged part. I explained it was not damaged but broke. The agent representing Cymax then asked did we note it on the delivery receipt? At this point please look at the previous complaint.
We finally some two to three weeks later after discussing the required part needed to make the repair, they Cymax by email, (never calling us back) notified us our order was being readied, rather quizzical I stated to my wife, our order was coming??? The leg or? Finally a shipping noticed was emailed. Expecting a leg for the stool, I again called and was told it was another stool and that, not to be real upset, I called a mediation person on a number from an email they had sent. I think most things in our current world could be resolved with improved communications between two live people and not the anonymity of texting or email, but here we are.
Cymax had contacted their supplier for a new leg (who knew?) Supplier, “we don't ship parts for repairs.” They shipped a new stool. Here we are today some three months later with the new stools at our kitchen Island. I will update the star grade from one to three, it is not as if Cymax was not concerned over a product they sell, but seemed not capable of going about how to remedy the inquiry or complaint.
I applaud them for the mediation teams they have, but if the best they can do is email, and try to shift the blame on the carrier, it would be better if those mediators made a phone call instead of emailing. It still goes back to communication between all of us to resolve problems, times, dates, whatever with a personal touch on those hardcore cases. Looking at most of their ratings people are pretty satisfied over all. This will not stop us from buying from them again, after all they did get the problem resolved.

Took six plus weeks to get the stools we had ordered, even though they were suppose to be in stock. Assembled the stools. First time one of the four were sat on, a cold weld on the leg broke, rendering stool unusable. After 9 calls and sending pictures 4 different times they claim it was damage in transit, requiring us to get a carrier number, and they keep responding for all kinds of information not associated with the break of the weld. I am in the process contacting the bureau of consumer affairs US Dept of commerce / Consumer Affairs, as this type of break could seriously injure someone if the stool collapsed under the person. The product may require a recall of the stools.

I have been very satisfied with the Media Tower! I had no problem following the instruction in putting it together. It looked of higher quality than I expected, and that the cost reflected. I am having a horrible experience with Cymax. I ordered a bar two months again and each time it was twice damaged during shipping. I requested my money back and I was told it will take 5 days to get an email back. That is ridiculous. I want my money.

So we ordered a headboard from Cymax.com and payment went through. About a week later we receive an email that the order has been cancelled per our request. What?! **. We call today to find out what the deal is. We are told the order was cancelled because they posted the wrong price by $100 but we can reorder for the higher price if we would like. Are you kidding me? According to them they can change the price anytime they want then cancel the orders that are out there that were sold at the lower price. I can understand if the listed price was $42 and the real price should have been $425, but a difference of $102? I think they should honor the price. They tell me they don't have to and they won't. Hence my rant. Needless to say we are boycotting this company. I will never order from them. Such poor customer service.

On December 12 2014 I ordered my daughter a daybed off of Cymax.com. I called December 23, 2014 to get an estimated delivery date. I received an e-mail after that call that finally just confirmed my purchase. I called several times after that and was told that I would receive the shipment by the end of each week. On February 10, 2015, I called back and requested a refund for my almost $800. I explained that my daughter needed a bed and I would just like the money back so that I could buy her one. I was told that I would receive an e-mail that showed my refund request being processed within the next 24-48 hours.
I received no such e-mail. I called back February 12, 2015. I was told the same thing again. Still no e-mail, no refund, and no bed. I called back February 17, 2015. I was told that it was being processed that day. That I may even have a refund that day. I still have not received an email, a refund, or a bed. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I will NEVER use this company again, and I am talking to a lawyer about getting my money back. This was just nuts!

I placed an order of two armchairs online. Everything seam normal, I got my tracking number I was excited. I track my order and it said the order has been delivered, but I did not get anything. So l call asking for my order and they told me that there was a mistake on the website that the price for the armchair was not the actual price. After 4 weeks waiting they come out with that?? The least thing, in my opinion, is to respect the price since it was their mistake. Or they could at least call me right after I place the order to tell me that. So my advise to everyone who is thinking to buy from this company is, DO NOT TRUST THE PRICES YOU SEE ON THEIR SITE. You will lose your time with them. And for my part, you bet I will never buy from Cymax again.

The delivery time was great. The box came and appeared undamaged. Went to put the table together and one leg was broken at the dowel joint. Contacted Cymax. Said to send pictures while they investigated. Tried to. Blocked at their site. Sent another message about a week ago. No response. Fixed joint, tried to assemble the table and found one leg section shorter than other. Managed to get the table together with short leg and pieces that did not fit properly and had to adjust. Worst table I ever purchased. Be cautious with Cymax.

This is a nice size dresser for my teenage daughter. I wish it was all wood (the back is the cardboard stuff). There was a damaged dent on the top of it, but otherwise, it will suffice for my needs.

I bought a X Rocker chair from Cymax and found the speakers to be defective. I requested a return and have not heard from them for at least few days so I decided to write a bad review on their website and they finally emailed me right after and said I could not return it because it was assembled. I feel like I got ripped off because I went to their website and found out that they stopped selling X Rocker chairs which seems very fishy.

On August 11, 2014 I placed an order for Broyhill Cambridge Three Seat Sofa and the matching chair. I got an email saying the they were both shipped on 9-19-14. They delivered my sofa on 10-15-14 but the chair did not match my sofa. It was not my chair and it did have another name on it. On 10-16-14, I received an email that said they were in the process of obtaining the necessary documentation to resolve this issue. It also said that I would receive a credit of $77.50 due to the delay.
I have not received anything. On 10-24-14, received an email that said I was to get another $30.00 credit for this delay. I haven't seen that either. On 11-3-14, another email wanting to know if I had taken pictures of the other chair. Since they had already tried to deliver it to me twice, now mind you, there's another person's name on the chair, I told her that I could give her a detailed description of the black & white zebra print chair. On 11-18-14, I wrote them requested that they please try to get the chair to me for the holidays. No response.
On 11-24-14, I wrote them again. On 11-27-14, I received an email stating that they were waiting for information from the manufacturer. On 12-26-14, they were waiting for information from the carrier. It is now 2-3-15 and I still have not gotten the chair. My sofa is going to be worn out and I can't get the chair or my money. They told the money for both pieces on 9-19-14. I don't know what to try next. $600.00 is a lot of money for me to just throw away. I will never deal with these people again. I feel sorry for anyone else that does.

I placed an order on December 18, 2014 for a kitchen table that I absolutely loved. I was told it would arrive between the 23 and January 2. On the 23rd I was charged the $515.....no table....January 2 ...no table. I called on January 5th; was on hold for 1 hour!!! I was told that the company would be shipping it the following week. I never received any notice from Fed Ex. On the 13th I went to the website to cancel my order and realized the table had shipped. So I waited. It arrived a few days later. I opened the box to find it broken on the underside in 3 places. And also damaged on the side and top of the table. I called immediately and was told to send pictures to an email that the customer service person supplied. It was kicked back to me 3 times. I went to the website and proceeded that way.
I received an email 2 days later asking for pictures and an account of what happened. I did so immediately. I am asking for my money back. I responded to this email and it was kicked back twice!!! It eventually went through. I have called for an update at 4 pm EST and they are closed. I just called now and they are closed. I sent an email a few days ago inquiring about the progress of my return. No one has gotten back to me. So here I am a month and a half later with a broken table and out $515!!! Never again!! I can't afford to buy a new table until I get my money back. It is unfortunate because the table was perfect!!! I am nervous about asking for a replacement.

My husband placed an order on a Saturday evening and realized he ordered the wrong item Sunday morning so he tried to cancel the order. We also tried calling but according to their phone system, they are closed on weekends. So my husband sent a cancellation via internet. The order was still shipped TWO business days later on the following Tuesday morning regardless of us trying to cancel the order. We tried AGAIN to call and get the situation resolved but we were told by customer service that it wasn't their fault and if we wanted to return the items then we were going to be charged a bunch of fees for restocking and return shipping!
When I told the customer service rep that wasn't a solution, he told me he was "sorry I felt that way" (which is a half-assed apology by the way), and proceeded to tell me the company wasn't going to lose money because we are the ones that made the mistake, EVEN though my husband cancelled the order the following morning after placing it, and it wasn't even shipped till two business days after the fact. To make it worse, my husband didn't even get the email stating his request for cancellation wasn't approved 'til Tuesday evening.

On December 15 2014 I ordered a dining room set on Cymax.com. It said on the website shipping in 3-5 days. I thought perfect I will have by Christmas. Well I kept checking on order and by the 22nd no info but Processing, so I called Cymax , 53 min hold! to be told that 3-5 days is an estimate, and that it had not been processed at all. That day my bank was debited the amount. Well Christmas came and went I called them back again on 27th still nothing. Customer service said "2 min please" and came back with airway bill # and said shipping tomorrow, you will see delivery date. Well it said 22nd Jan, 5 weeks after purchase. Nothing I can do but wait is what I was told!!
On the 21st got a call from delivery service. They have not received the order and don't know when they will!? Called Cymax, again on hold 42min. After much debate I was offered 5% back, well calmed me for a few. Homedirect is the shipper, called and found out order was in Los Angeles on the 21st?? 20 min from the delivery service that will bring to me. They did not receive until 26th of Jan. Now having to call them to see when it will be delivered, and found out they did not receive all boxes and do not know where 1.2 my dining room set is. Also told that Cymax will Not pay for upgrade when it is finally delivered. When and if it will only be delivered to door not set up! THIS IS A NIGHTMARE! DO NOT BUY FROM CYMAX. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!

The platform bed came in one box. That was great! The two bookcases/nightstands came in two separate boxes also. The one box that contained one of the bookcases is all smashed. We got the bookcase together, but it looks horrible and is all smashed and cracked all over the one side. I'm not very happy about it at all.

The product is just as pictured. Attractive and sturdy. I liked the swift and free shipping. However the assembly instructions were inaccurate - they were for a slightly different model. I was still able to put it together, but only because I have been a technician and could figure it out. Also, there were parts missing - they were the plastic "feet" that go onto the bottom of the bed frame legs. While this did not keep me from putting the bed together and using it, it concerns me that the rug will be "cut" or crushed over time by the bare metal resting on the fibers.

I ordered in excess of $5,000 in office furniture. The item arrived damaged and I repeatedly tried to fill out the return form on their website. It kept bouncing me out. If you call them expect to be placed on hold for well over an hour. I emailed pics and description of problem to a Cymax rep and manufacturer and no response to date. MY COMPLAINT IS THE INABILITY TO EASILY CONTACT THEM. If you have to buy through them go through Amazon not these guys.

Ordered in late November. It arrived damaged. Company wants pictures for resolution center. Ordered second piece, it also arrived damaged. Immediately sent back with carrier. Received letter from Cymax (no phone call) to donate first delivery to Salvation Army, get receipt in their name with price, and send receipt to Cymax. I did that with no response. It is now end of January. I called Cymax and they said will have representative return my call. I have spent hours on the phone holding to talk with someone from this company. They say it's a 13-minute wait and ends up being a 30-minute wait. They are the worst company to deal with. They make their customers jump through hoops to get a refund. They should be forced out of business. Will never deal with them again. Still waiting on my refund!!!

I am staying the hell away from them, as I'm pretty sure they ripped me off. In my case, they used the classic bait and switch of fulfilling a less expensive purchase, and once they gained my trust, then they stiffed me! And they played B.S. games trying to string me along by blaming different entities. In short, I ordered a cheap item that came as promised. Then I ordered an expensive item that never arrived. Weeks of calling, emailing, waiting on the phone for hours until it was my turn, etc. and they still refuse to either deliver the goods, or give me my refund!!!

My husband ordered a futon on January 11th, we received an email stating our item had been shipped with a FedEx tracking number attached. The tracking number is invalid to start with. He called the customer service number and was told he would get an email within 24 hours with the shipping information and tracking number. No email has been sent yet and the tracking number is still invalid and we still have NOT received our futon that we ordered 2 weeks ago. Today when I called customer service at 11:30, 12:00, and 12:45 Pacific time, it said they were now closed and the business hours were between 8-4 PST.
I am still without a futon and was already charged the full amount. After getting nowhere with the customer service number, I tried my luck at FedEx. I was told there was no trace of a package ever to be delivered to my address... Well, where's my futon and who took the money? Never will I order from Cymax again as I am beginning to feel it's not an actual company but a scam.

The file cabinet was delivered on time and there was no damage. The product description said it was wooden but the only wooden parts were the drawer fronts. When put together the bottom drawer was fine but the top drawer was crooked. I drilled my own holes from the drawer guide and corrected the problem. No troubleshooting instructions are provided.

Sauder Original Cottage Side Table in Rainwater - The Tables turned out fine. The color is accurate. Not too difficult to put together. Takes maybe an hour. Follow instructions carefully. Very stable. Overall look is satisfactory, casual, chic. The first one went together and was tight. The drawers do not fit as well as pictured. They are a little askew. The second one did not fit together as tightly, but still good.

The Sauder Shoal Creek Library was what I expected from Sauder, a very good quality item, (for a self assembly kit). We ordered the furniture in June 2014 and paid for it. We finally gave up on Christmas Eve after not being able to get the master bedroom set we paid for. Since then I've been trying to get my reimbursement and as of today I'm still trying to receive it in total. I will NEVER deal with Cymax ever again. They could offer me free furniture and I would not accept. This is the most horrible service I have ever endured. Take it from me, stay away from CYMAX or you will be sorry.

I sent a $207 Guidecraft child's desk to my grand-niece for Christmas. When her parents tried to put it together, they found several problems with various features that made the desk impossible to assemble. I had the desk checked by a professional handyman that we've employed for years and he confirmed that the desk was very faulty. I originally contacted Cymax on 12/26/14 and have emailed and called them several times since. They seem to wait a few weeks and then send me yet another email as if it's the first time they're hearing about the problem!!! I am completely frustrated with their lack of response especially since the desk continues to sit on my niece's sun porch waiting for me to get the RMA number so the box can be returned for refund to Cymax. Isn't it enough to send an embarrassingly faulty product without completely ignoring it for weeks?

The resolution team made a good effort to resolve the damage problem. The fact that the units are brought in from overseas made it difficult to replace the small damaged parts so a discount was accepted instead of replacing the entire unit. That was my decision.

I ordered 7 fluorescent light fixtures described as a fixture retail priced over $170.00. They were being deep discounted to under $40.00. Wow...Right? What I received were items shipped in their actual product boxes with no external shipping container much less any protective material to protect the item from damage during shipping. It was like receiving a light bulb, shipped across the country, in only the box it came in. On top of the damage the products I received were grossing misrepresented. The quality of the fixtures were that of a dollar store product; poor, very poor quality. I guess I assumed I would be getting fixtures of high quality since a very good quality 4' fluorescent light fixture starts around $75.00; and these retailed for over $170.00. This is where the adventure starts.
I immediately requested a return of items, through the CyMax website, describing my issue and dissatisfaction with the items. After a few days of waiting for a response they finally emailed me saying that they were requesting a return authorization from the seller and that they would let me know when they received it; this started January 5th. After 3 more days waiting for the return authorization I decided I would call CyMax. After several failed attempts I finally felt I got in touch with a seemingly concerned service rep. She told me that she would put my case on top priority and that a manager from their return department would call me within 24 hours. Two days later I receive not a call, but an email. The email requested that I once again describe my issue to them and wait for a response. My patience has reached its end.
Once again I called CyMax and after waiting on hold for some time I was given the option for a service rep to return my call by the end of the days business. I did receive a call only to be disconnected before anything could be discussed. I called back and got a recording that I had reached the CyMax customer service dept. after hours and to please call back another time. My only recommendation is to....never, never, ever buy from a company that treats its customers no better than a lab rat. In the meantime my case continues.

I purchased a headboard online from Cymax for my mother and had it shipped directly to her. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. Took a little while to put it together (comes in many pieces) but the directions are very precise on how to do that. My boyfriend and I placed an order for an American Drew bed at Cymax.com on December 3, 2014. After waiting nearly a month for shipping notification and hearing nothing, we endured incredibly long hold times to call customer service on January 23, 2014, only to be told that the delivery company would contact us when the bed was ready to be delivered.
We tracked the bed daily and finally saw it reach Portland, OR, on January 6, 2015. After waiting even longer with no contact, on January 9, 2015 we went through the unbelievably long hold time for customer service and were told by a crisp accent that Cymax could do nothing about the shipping delay, but that it's possible we could pay the local courier a surcharge to deliver faster.
At that point, we called Manna Distribution. This arrival was confirmed, but we were told that the sub-contracted courier, CBC Moving, only delivers from Portland to Eugene on Wednesdays. For whatever reason, the shipment wasn't picked up Wednesday the 7th, so with no other option, my boyfriend scheduled the home delivery with CBC for today, Wednesday, January 14.
Surprise, surprise... when he called CBC last night to confirm the delivery, they said they didn't know if the shipment had arrived at Manna's DC or not, and that they would "just check". We called again today to confirm the pickup only to be told once again that the bed hadn't made it onto the truck to Eugene, and that we are put off for another week.
The service we have received from Cymax, Manna Distribution and CBC Moving has been deplorable. With nearly $900 out in the ether for a bed, we're not feeling at all comfortable about this transaction, we will never again order from Cymax nor suggest anyone else do the same. From reading prior reviews, it appears that Cymax can handle small deliveries, but LTL is a nightmare. The absolute indifference about customer satisfaction is the icing on the cake.

I ordered the Modus Brighton Armoire in cinnamon and it was shipped to my house when I was not there. No phone call or nothing. The second attempt I did receive a call from freight lines that said they would be there from 12-5pm on January 5th, 2015. I took vacation to be there and at 5pm no one was there with no call or any type communication. I called the number for Main freight and told them I was to receive a piece of furniture and have not heard from anyone. He got his agent on the phone and said they were running behind. Around 7pm they showed up. They wanted to drop that monster unit off without helping me. But I did get them to help me set it up. We unpacked it and it was damaged in 4-5 areas. Not minor but serious damage, I had to send pictures with an email to replacements@cymax.com. They replied that they forwarded it to the manufacturer and would let me know their decision. My biggest complaint is that the customer has no way to track the unit. They show an order# and tracking #, but the tracking does not tell what freight line or anything. The communication is terrible with Cymax and their carriers. I hope they do a better job with my replacement. I am giving them a second chance.. So we will see what happens.

I order a convertible crib that come with a free mattress. The mattress was shipped really fast with good care. The crib (big furniture) is still on the way, but I already received a call on Christmas eve that confirmed the crib will be arrived within 2-3 weeks to the warehouse close to where I live. On Dec 5, 2014 I ordered as a Christmas gift the 'Crosley Radio Archiver USB Entertainment Center Turntable' (Paprika color); Cymax Order #: ** for $179.95. Order arrived at our home via FedEx on Dec. 10, 2014. (FEDEX Tracking no. **) Unit arrived with no visible exterior damage, and, as this was a Christmas gift, the box was not opened until Dec. 25.
Upon setting the unit up on Dec. 25 (Christmas morning) I could not get the phonograph to switch on or function at all. (however the radio, CD and Tape-player did function). Needless to say we were very disappointed that the phonograph portion does not work, and have been trying to get replacement or a refund. To date (1-9-2015), CYMAX has not given us a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for return shipment. Instead, I had to log in to create an account on their website as well as send pictures of the unit. CYMAX sent email saying that they have to contact the manufacturer, etc.. and is waiting on manufacturer response.
This all seems very unfortunate, most reputable companies don't make their customers jump through so many hoops regarding a defective/broken product.I'm inclined to seek a full refund, rather than risk Cymax sending another defective machine and a continuation of this back and forth business. CYMAX is very difficult to reach on the phone. I would appreciate any help the CA could offer.

The purchase was based on my granddaughter's storage bed which I promised her for a Christmas present. My dealings with Cymax were very positive. I got an email the next day stating that the bed was shipped. Unfortunately, it sat in the UPS terminal for 11 days because, I assume, due to the holidays and the fact that it was coming from Canada and had to clear customs. However, it did arrive within the time limit promised. I plan to use Cymax in the future.

I tried to call this company for a week! I had an order that had a potential problem and when I called, I was left on hold for hours! They never pick up the phone. They say you can opt to give a number and they will call you back. I did that and nothing happened! They never called back. I tried to email them but they do not actually have an email address. Just an address for "suggestions" which they never respond to. They say by logging into "my account" you can do a live chat. I tried to email an "expert", but you have to have a special email account which is actually not available to us. There is no live chat! This is a ridiculous company and I will never do business with them again.

Purchased a single desk on 12/17/14 from Cymax, no confirmation email was ever sent. Called customer service (45 minute wait) before they would send the confirmation number. Tracking was never updated and no status was ever provided on the order. I was required to call the shipping company directly to get a status. 3 weeks to deliver and crew arrives to set up the desk, opens it, slides it back on the truck and tells me it's broken. No parts, no reason, nothing. I called both the shipping company and Cymax (almost 45 minutes for cymax, 15 for the shipping company on hold) in order to get this replaced. Tried the call back system which calls you, rings twice then hangs up. Also searched for the "live chat" that was mentioned while on hold and that is non-existent.

I placed an order on 12/23/14. I called b/c it stated it would be shipped within 3-5 days. With the holidays I expected some delays. I called & was told it would ship by 12/31/14. I received an email confirmation indicating that it was being prepared for shipment but that I would get another email with the tracking information. I waited two days and did not get any tracking information. I called Cymax and was disconnected at 16 minutes. I tempted to call back and they were closed. They have no email communication available. We are expected to be out of town and are moving to a new house. I need to know whether or not the shipment will be here before I move.

The 5-piece pub set (Fiona was the name) is a beautiful set I purchased for my son's restaurant. Pictures online were good and ordering was easy and complete. My husband ordered a chair for our living room as a Christmas present for me on December 13. The chair was in stock and advertised that it usually ships between 1-3 days. The chair was instead processed 4 business days later. We received a confirmation email with a window of delivery dates December 23-December 29. Patiently we waited, checking the tracking. On December 23, the chair we ordered was "picked up by the carrier". Wasn't this supposed to happen 1-3 days after payment? Even if that isn't the case, this would have been acceptable if Cymax made sure we received the almost $400 chair we ordered by the date they stated. It is now December 29, and the tracking still hasn't updated to "in transit", "arrived at location", etc.
On December 24 we received a confusing email from Cymax that stated our orders had been shipped. It gives us two different tracking numbers, only one of which has an active link. This also directs us back to the same tracking page we've been directed to on their website. We even called cymax to find out what the problem with our order was (even though they haven't contacted us about any problems and the chair is still listed on their website as in stock), and all the phone call got is was a recommendation to check the tracking updates on their website and to refer back to the delivery times stated in the original confirmation email. Tomorrow we're having a party which my husband specifically ordered the chair to have extra seating for, realizing this was after their generous delivery window. Apparently we will still be without the product we paid for at that time, which is incredibly disappointing.
We order almost every purchase for our home online. Never have we had an online shopping experience like the one we're experiencing with Cymax.com. I can't believe the unacceptable level of customer service we've received so far, and how unacceptably slow this shipping has been. Other companies make commitments to their customers for much more timely deliveries, and these companies meet and even sometimes surpass their delivery dates. Cymax still has a customer in Texas waiting for a product that should have been delivered by now, without as much as a phone call or a delivery update. I need my product that I paid for.

The floating headboard and nightstands were delivered right on time and were exactly as pictured. We love them! A young couple visited today and would love to order one as well. It is very contemporary-looking but can fit any decor. Despite the fact that it is not constructed of real wood, which would have quadrupled the price, the quality is better than expected.

My husband's only complaint was that the directions mostly included small pictures only and there are quite a few tiny parts. He didn't notice the faint line through the picture of a hammer. Called Cymax and place an order with a very not professional woman. She promised me that I will get all for Christmas even got confirmation email with the delivery day. After two days got a few emails that they don't have shipping address. Wow, go back to emails, which you send to me and there is all information, but ok send the address plus called there again after waiting for an hour. They told me that they don't understand what happened. This woman forget??? To post some info??? But they have all of my order in. They will ship them ASAP. Called there again after one week. And again this same story and another hour on hold. They don't know why I did not get the trucking number so it means that they never shipped it BUT WHEN I CHECK WITH MY CREDIT CARD THEY TOOK MY MONEY!!!

Another week went out and another call and again they cannot help me, no communication with manufacturer/warehouse/still cannot give me the trucking number because it was not shipped yet. First off I want to say that I'm super thrilled I came across the Cymax website. Great selection at great prices with free shipping. I ordered a laptop stand for my husband. It was very convenient that I was able to pay through Amazon and was able to get super-fast shipping for free. As for the laptop stand, it exceeded my expectations. I was very surprised to find my headboard at such a reasonable with free shipping. I read reviews and felt I was going to be safe to make a purchase here. Everything moved along very well. The one thing that brought to my attention was the box cover was torn and lifting off the package. The UPS driver assured me tho nothing was damaged. The delivery time was great and it looks like a perfect fit for our bed. Looking forward to getting it put together so that we may use it. Will be back soon to look for a coffee table and end tables for my living room.

I received my order in 2 days... which was amazing in itself. I ordered the gel fire TV stand. It went together very easily. It is made of quality products. I bought the dark brown one and it matches my living/dining room furniture exactly. Unfortunately, I forgot to order the gel fire canisters so I haven't been able to light the fire yet. I will also be ordering a bedroom set from Cymax in the future when needed. Very satisfied.

The Desk with hutch came as expected, it had one leg broken off on the desk. I have enclosed pictures. I tried to notify you of the broken leg and I was put on hold and told the wait time was 4 1/2 hours. NOT GOOD - you need to hire operators. Lousy customer service. We ordered a sectional with a delivery date of between 15/16 December. One part of the 3 piece sectional was delivered on the 22nd Dec which makes it 6 days late on delivery, not only that, only 1 of the 3 pieces were delivered. Prior to the delivery when phoning customer service to check on the delivery they simply told us it’s in transit with no ETA, NOT good enough. When you call customer services they put you on hold for up to 30mins, WHAT? When you finally speak to someone they tell you they have sent a request through to manufacturing for them to check on the order. The status currently is "waiting for manufacturing" - for what?????? This is despicable customer service and I won’t EVER buy from them again considering we’ve already spent 1000’s of $$ with them - absolutely pathetic.

I ordered a Futon mattress and never received a confirmation email. I then attempted to call and hold times were over an hour and they kept directing me to get online, which I did. Unfortunately, I didn't have an account so the order couldn't be seen. All I had was the receipt from the website that directs me to an email. After multiple attempts to email I've received no response. So I've purchased something that may or may not be coming from a company that may or may not be real, but definitely has the worst support I've ever experienced. I will never order anything from Cymax.

I made a mistake and provided Cymax the wrong shipping address for a 62" TV console. Fortunately, I was able to talk to the delivery team and asked that they do not deliver it and I would work through Cymax to provided the correct address. I waited 8 hours for a call back and when it finally came, the call was disconnected and they never called me back. I called them a few minutes later and the customer service dept was closed. This is what they call customer service? This morning I have read about 100 other similar complaints, where other customers cannot get through to resolve problems. So now I will call back and get back in the queue. Maybe I'll get a call before the end of the year. Very frustrating and I will never do business with them again.

My interaction with Cymax was wonderful. The product I received would rate about a C- or 2 stars. All parts were present but the pieces don't line up real well, a gap here, slight miss alignment there, lid to trunk won't close all the way on one side....From afar it looks fine. I put it together so I am very aware of all the imperfections. For $325 I expected a little better. Not sure if I would purchase again.

I ordered my products on December 9th. I was told they would arrive by Christmas. My "estimated" delivery date was the 10th to the 12th of December. I was told the arrival date would be the 16th to the 18th. I checked my account online and the status still says in progress meaning it hasn't been shipped. I have called on several occasions and have been told the same thing time and again. "You should have a tracking number within 24 hours". I was also told if I canceled my order, there would be a restocking fee. RESTOCKING FEE on an item that hasn't even left the facility. They had no trouble taking my money but can't seem to get me my products. One associate said "after it ships, it may be up to 2 weeks before arrival." Never again will I give cymax $190 for nothing more than excuses and poor customer service.

Scoured the interwebs for a platform bed frame. Prices ranged from a few hundred to thousands depending on what you wanted. Well Cymax had what we wanted. Simple platform bed made from real wood, not particle board or MDF. Best price with free shipping on an item that was at least 50 lbs. Item delivered on time. All brand new in packaging. Very, very happy with our purchase. We had bought another bed frame just the week before that had not yet arrived but based on the hundreds of +reviews we went with Cymax. Can't say enough good things. Better selection and prices than both Amazon and Overstock. Our go to place.

I got my package damaged. Tried putting in for a replacement and the website wasn't working right so the request for the replacement didn't go in. I try calling the customer service number and had to wait forever and never got a hold of anyone. I gave them my number to call me since they had such high call demands and it has been a week now and still haven't heard from them.

Great price, arrived quickly, perfect condition. Easy to put together, my daughter and I assembled both desk and hutch in 2 hours. Looks great. Feels sturdy! The only negative I would comment on is all the screws, cap locks, etc, have to be separated and evaluated to determine item type. Not a big deal, just a little time consuming that could be avoided.

I am very much pleased with the bed once everything was put together, although it took about solid 3-4 hours for me to assemble it. One thing that I would like to add is that I got the packaged bed in 2 shipments, it would have been better if it was noted where the instructions booklet is. I opened up the bed package, not the other one first and had to print the instructions manually...

Beds ordered Nov 29. Shipped Dec 2. It is now Dec 17, and NO ONE knows where the shipment is right now. I've called Cymax Customer Service several times (on the phone again with them as I type this). I've called the shipping agents, delivery agents. You name it, I've called everyone I know who is involved with this order and still have no answers. They have the customer over a barrel because you can't demand a return/refund once the item is shipped, so you are literally at the mercy of these people until they get around to delivering your shipment. I am concerned that the longer these beds are "Out there", the more likely they will be damaged and knocked around by the time they arrive. Cymax has no control or recourse when the shipper fails to perform. Once the item has been shipped you are at the mercy of the shippers and Cymax return policy does not allow for recourse after item is shipped - no returns or refunds.

Product quality is great; I've had two prior orders from this company. Product is exactly described, usually ships for free in USA, and is sold at very good prices. However be aware that for the MacMotion chair (and perhaps other items) the stock status and delivery estimates may not be accurate. A previous order took about 3-4 months to arrive; each month I'd receive an e-mail stating one more month of delay. My currently ordered item was represented as in stock but once I ordered I received an email with a three-week delay. We shall see in the next few days...

Once the crib was up (took us 2 1/2 hours!) it was fine. The problem was the parts were not marked and we connected things wrong with the wrong screws, and pieces were inside out! The directions were awful and the main pieces of the crib were suppose to be lettered and they weren't. It was a guessing game! We like the crib, it is very sturdy and pretty. Our granddaughter slept fine in it, no issues there.

Ivory leather, wood arms, modern looking. The only problem was that it has a zipper in back which closes the cover, however the zipper did not have a head to close. Cymax has been advised of the damage for replacement.

The Gel-fireplace arrived on time with all packaging intact. All parts needed were in the box. Assembly was under one hour with easy to follow instructions and tool supplied. All I needed was a screwdriver. All parts fit together, and for the price paid with no tax and free shipping, it would be very hard to find the same quality at a lower price. We ordered the davinci crib because we have one for our oldest and have it converted to a full and absolutely love it. So to match the room, we decided to go with the same brand. The shipping was fast. However, the crib had a lot of scratches and you could see where it was "fixed" with a marker in certain areas. We will not return is because baby is due any day and we really need the bed but I doubt I will be buying the conversion kit from here..

This was our first Cymax purchase and we were very pleased! We were looking around for fireplaces as the winter months were coming and consistently found myself watching the Cymax website for a fireplace. We had been looking around at electric fireplaces from other websites and the best deals and reviews were at Cymax.com. However, while looking on their site I noticed the gel fuel fireplaces which were less money AND could be placed anywhere in the room. This was a huge plus over the electric fireplace that would need to go in front of an outlet. Needless to say we purchased the fireplace and the two boxes were shipped to our house within a week after purchase!

I LOVE the fireplace that I bought from Cymax. It is easy to use, looks great in my living room, and provides nice heat too. The mantle is big and sturdy enough to fit my 46" TV on top of it. I have gotten so many compliments on the fireplace. I put 2 matching white bookshelves on either side to create a nice cozy feel. You won't regret buying one of these.

We ordered the Abbyson Living Italia 72-inch Solid Oak Wood TV Console in Walnut on Nov 15, 2014, despite having read some negative reviews of the company. We were given a ship time of 5-10 days. On December 4, the order had not yet shipped. I held for an hour to speak with a representative about the status of the order. (The live online chat they claim to offer once you set up an account does not actually exist.) The Cymax rep spoke to the manufacturer and assured me that the item would ship the following day or Monday, Dec 8, at the latest. It is now Dec 10. The status of our order is still "in progress," i.e., "not shipped." I have called twice today, holding for long periods of time, only to be cut off without ever reaching a representative. Cymax does not fulfill their shipping promises, does not offer the customer support they claim, and lives up (that is, "down") to its poor reviews. We will cancel our order if it does not ship by tomorrow. Buyer beware.

I have ordered a sectional on November 10th, 2014 that was supposed to be delivered on November 28. I have still not received my item and whenever I call Cymax it is an hour waiting time on the phone. Customer service cannot ever give me a straight answer as they have no idea when my couch will be delivered exactly. They lie every time I talk to them, promising that the item should be here in two days but of course it never arrives. Do not order from this company. I am not sure when I will be able to receive my couch and now I have doubts about its quality. Furious!

My fiance and I ordered a bed from this company and when it was delivered we realized that the product was manufactured incorrectly. We literally weren't even able to put the bed together because the holes were in the wrong place. Due to time constraints we had to look into other options and I contacted Cymax to return the useless product. Not only were they unhelpful but the "escalation" department manager I spoke with named Todd was rude and ignorant. I was told to refer to the "terms and conditions" when trying to return a product they sent that literally couldn't be put together. That is flat out insane. How is it possible that this company hasn't been shut down? The owner of such a scam should be ashamed.

I have 2 stories to tell about Cymax.com. I ordered an Item from them that they cancelled and did not refund. After contacting them, refund has still not happened weeks later. My wife ordered an item that we did receive but were charged twice! After talking to them twice and promised the refund would happen, it still has not after weeks. This company really needs to change how they handle customers... I ordered a bunk bed with mattresses. Upon delivery I noticed that the mattresses were futons… so I refused them. I actually called them that day to let them know and they replied with “you'll get an email with our response”. I received one that day saying they could not refund items because they had been opened (false) and that I should try to sell them locally... WHAT?? Who says that. Then I called again to explain they were refused and untouched. And they say I would receive an with update. Nothing for a week so I called after talking to FedEx and confirming items were return. They informed me they didn't have the tracking number for item??? Again what?? You shipped it... I provided the tracking # and then received another email now informing me that the items had been damaged in transit and That "I" needed to call FedEx and file a claim. They would hold items in warehouse for them to look at.
So, I did with confusion as to why I was doing this and not them. STILL NO REFUND! I then filed a complaint with BBB after that I received another email stating they were so sorry for confusion and that I would be receiving a small refund broken down like this: Original Purchase: $414.97. Restocking Fee: $82.99 (waived). Outgoing Shipping Fee: $110.57. Return Shipping: 110.57. Total Refund Due: $193.82. FYI there was no shipping charge in org. order. How is this good customer service??? It's not!!!! I would never recommend this company to anyone and will tell everyone about this experience.
