    After I ordered two nightstands one came damaged. They wanted to take 20% off of the purchase price and for me to keep it. I said no. Then they said they would send out another one. Another one did arrive damaged. Contacted them again. Got the runaround. When I told them I was going to return the product they were going to charge me a 30% restocking fee and $25 or more for shipping. I finally got them to send me a return label with no charge. This took weeks to accomplish.

    Cymax then contacted me apparently someone in their review Department since I left a bad review on Consumer Affairs and another website. They wanted to give me 10% off of a future sale and update my review. I told him that I would not purchase anything from them again but feel free to send me the 10% coupon. I'm glad that I got a full refund of my money and that Cymax, in the end, apologized for the screw-up.

    Purchased 2 nightstands – 1 was perfect, other damaged. They sent me a replacement for the damaged one and it came damaged. Now they are telling me though they will not take it back. It is in the original box and it was assembled 100% in the box. Still fighting with them. This has been going on since 5/3/16.

    I was concerned as to the chest arriving damaged. It arrived nicely packaged with no scratches. The chest of drawers was much better looking than the picture on the internet.     First off, my issue is not (yet) with the dresser but with Cymax. I ordered this dresser over 6 weeks ago. They initially estimated 3 weeks shipping. I've called a couple of times and all they can say is it is almost to Washington. It has 'almost' been to Washington for 2 weeks. Perhaps it will arrive via stage coach. When I called looking for it Wayfair initially seems clueless before telling me it will be there soon. I'd recommend buying from a more reliable dealer unless you feel like paying for an item you don't need until next year.

    These bar stools appear to be well made and they came wrapped in plastic and foam. When they are unwrapped the fumes from the wood finish is quite overwhelming. After we assembled them we kept them outside on our covered front porch for 3 days to air out. Even after that, we still notice a lingering odor in the room they're in. Anyone with sensitivity to such chemicals should beware. Also, one of the two stools has uneven legs and rocks noticeably.

    Desk is great. No problems. Don't believe anyone who tells you you can put together this item alone and in a few hours. I'm 77 and it took me just a few hours to unload the boxes the parts came in. And at least a few hours with two people putting it together. However, your sales staff were great.     We (Amela and I) purchase this Bar Unit on 3-18-2016, however, only her name was on the PO # (**). When I called about the missing hardware (bolts and screw packet), on Monday 4-11-2016, (after being told to contact you by the manufacturer Coaster of America) I was informed that you had to speak only to Amela as Edmundo has passed away (should be off the account). I informed this was your policy and no further discussion could come about the missing parts.

    I did ask how long it would take after having her call (she works M-F 7-5 PDT, most weeks). The young lady stated processing the request would be 3-5 business days and another 5-7 business days to order and ship (possibly longer). I restated that the policy was dumb, and she said there is nothing she could do. I proceeded to inform her that we (Amela and I, only my name was going to be on the order) were ordering a bar mirror (item #: 528831) and these parts would hinge on whether we bought it here or elsewhere for the same price!!!

    Guess what... They declined the offer and I called Coaster immediately after (about 15 minutes before THEY closed) and got the order in!!! Yesterday I got the parts (2 real business days later)!!! Now I did buy the mirror, but, not from you. Haystack is where I have a delivery date of next week, and we are not going to be buying anything from you AGAIN!!! We will not do business with a group as unprofessional and discourteous as they are!

    I'm customer of Cymax. I been looking for a marble top dining set for my new apt to match countertops. I was browsing, ran across Cymax furniture and found what I was looking for. Being that I been searching for a reasonable price, and I be darn for $295.00 free shipping, must admit I was very nervous being that I never ordered from here. So took the leap after reading the reviews after "I know backwards right?" I got email the same day on 4/21/16 and received and up 4/23 with shipped and tracking number, and expecting delivery and update from FedEx departed and delivery date. It's here 4/26/16. The delivery guy was nice. My product came. The box beat up but of course it will all the handling it had to go through to get to Kansas City. But I very pleased with my order. It's what I wanted.     I gave this a 3 because it wasn't the same color as pictured online which looked to be off-white rather than gray. The reason I ordered it was for the color and the size. It was a big disappointment to see that it was indeed a soft gray. While in most instances gray might of worked, I needed it to match some of the other furniture pieces in my home. The table came in a timely matter, was well packaged and easily assembled. I didn't time it, but I would guess 45 min to an hour. Sending it back wasn't an option because of the size, weight, and hassle. So, I kept it and will probably paint it at some point.

    I ordered a $1900 bed on March 30 via phone. The agent was very polite and professional. I asked if my card would be charged at that time and was told that it wouldn't be charged until 5 days before my item shipped. It was backordered until April 15, so I expected that it wouldn't be charged until around April 10. It was charged on April 6.

    On April 12, I received an email stating that my order was backordered until April 30. I appreciated the notice but because I had ordered this bed primarily for a family gathering, the April 15 ship date, plus 3 weeks shipping, was cutting it close, and an April 30 ship date would definitely not make it. So I called to cancel and the automated message from the "cancellation department" stated that I had to request cancellation online and it advised that I would get an email in 2-3 days notifying me of the status of the cancellation. I submitted my cancellation request on April 17 and I received an email confirming my request, also with a statement that I would get an email with my cancellation status in 2-3 business days. As my order still showed a backorder date of April 30, it would seem reasonable that the item has been neither shipped or being prepared for shipping, so cancellation should not be an issue.

    It is now April 22 and I have not received any email and cannot reach anyone on the phone (during regular PST business hours) in order to confirm the cancellation or even get a status. I did try to call and go through the ordering department, but was transferred to the cancellation department and again got an automated message. My online status still shows backordered until April 30 and no tracking information has been provided via online or by email. There is no link on the website to contact Customer Service via email.

    I thought that I did a good job of researching this company before I ordered direct, but I was mistaken. From my experience, I'm not sure how they got a BBB rating of A+. I purchased directly from Cymax believing that they were an honorable company, and they even gave me a discount, but I now regret that I didn't go through another service, such as Amazon, that may have been more helpful with resolution and provide means for communication. I have contacted my credit card company to file a dispute. I hope that I'll get an email in the next couple of days that my cancellation is approved and my card will be credited, but right now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I haven't learned a very expensive lesson! This is my first experience with this company but I do not plan to order again from this company, either directly or through a third party, and I strongly advise anyone else to beware.

    I ordered the Ashley Tripton Server through Cymax. It arrived when I wasn't home (which is/was not a problem). Before even opening it I noticed there were several gouges on the outside of the box. Once taking out the piece and inspecting it I saw a big spot on the back panel where it's broken/busted which can be seen from both the front and the back. (This definitely IS a problem.) I contacted Cymax customer service. They asked a few questions and recommended I send a few pictures to Cymax for review. They also said that since the outside of the box was damaged the responsibility to replace the item is the company who delivered it -- not Cymax. Now I am stuck with a broken server.     I purchased a bed from Cymax. I never received one of the parts to the bed. I thought Cymax would simply send me the missing part since it was supposedly shipped in a separate box from the beginning. They did not want to ship another part. However, they decided to do a FedEx lost trace after waiting 2 weeks. FedEx took an additional 8 business with the lost trace but could not locate the item. Since then, I have been getting a lot of stalling tactics from Cymax. They refuse to let me return the items I have and refuse to issue a refund. I never unpacked the items they sent to me since I only received 2 of 3 boxes.

    Came damaged. Bought for medical rehab and purchase was time sensitive. Needed help to repackage to return only to find out you have to pay to ship back if you don't take a picture of the damage which made it difficult with a broken kneecap. After reopening, taking pictures, and several calls, Cymax asked me if I wanted to keep it for a 10% refund which didn't help me. Needed someone to pick it up to take to postal service. Finally after last call, Cymax sent e-mail saying to donate it to a charity to come pick it up and send receipt for refund (saved them shipping). Cymax made it virtually impossible to return the items, kept stalling on making a refund (which has still not been made after over 6 months), did not reply to emails, and took forever to answer the phone. I would not recommend this company at all. Fine if your order arrives in good condition, but if not, you are unlikely to get a refund or any kind of d4ecent service at all.

    The worse experience ever! Before today I had purchased items and never had issues. Bottom line: I ordered a desk a month ago. It arrived damaged and missing parts. Cymax said they would give me my money back but I had to get rid of the merchandise or donate. Well, it's a broken desk with missing parts. No one will pick it up and I have no way of getting rid of it. It is sitting in the middle of my house in 50 pieces. All they can say is SORRY REALLY!? Have the manufacturer give me a prepaid label and send it back to them and they can worry about getting rid of it. OR pay the $50 JUNK IT for me to dispose of it! NOT keep it in a loyal customer's house! I will never buy ANYTHING again from them.

    I selected this item because of its design and that it would fit efficiently in the corner of my living room. It definitely enhances my living room, it looks like real wood. It is multi-functional (TV stand, wine rack, cabinet with glass door). I was able to put it together by myself and while it is very sturdy, there were some pieces that did not fit securely even though they are design related and not structure related. I am sure this can be corrected with additional hardware. This is a unique piece that I did not think I would find while looking for this type of product and it was less expensive than other TV stands/cabinets. The delivery was fairly quick and I could track it through a line. I would recommend this piece for design, efficiency, functionality and cost effectiveness.

    This has been a nightmare. I purchased matching furniture to go with a couple of recliners that I purchased from Cymax. Now I get the below e-mail from Cymax and they refuse to fulfill the order as placed and paid for. Now I am stuck with furniture that I purchased to match the recliners and their only response to this is listed below. They want to send me a pillow??? Are you serious? Do not buy from this company. I am filing complaints with the Federal Trade Commission for false advertising and with the Better Business Bureau for shady business practices.

    Let me tell you about my horrible experience with this company. We ordered a bed frame and nightstands on March 4th. Here is March 24th... The bed frame and nightstands showed up damaged. Delivery driver told me it was damaged when he picked it up, but he still had to deliver it. I called to get this problem fixed, customer service was very rude.

    After having to get transferred to a manager to get anywhere, (took over 10 minutes on hold) MANAGER CHRIS ** just wanted us to cancel the order. Since we already ordered a custom mattress and are getting married in 10 days, we decided to give them another try. Contacted Chris ** via e-mail the next morning since he wouldn't give us his direct phone number. He never got back to us. Emailed customer support and called several times and got the runaround from several people.

    Over a week went by before any contact with Cymax, and they told us they were still waiting to hear from the shipping company. A complete disaster. When I decided to just cancel the order and get my money back, they told me it would take 3 to 5 business days to do so. As of this second, I am waiting on hold to talk to another manager and have been on hold for over 15 minutes!

    I would stay away from this company at all costs. This Chris ** was so completely unprofessional, he deserves to lose his job. He obviously has no idea what "customer service" is. Again, stay away, they obviously do not care about our $800 in business. And on top of all this, now, on our wedding night, my wife and I will be sleeping on the floor because of Cymax and Chris **. Thanks a lot...

    Placed an order, eight days later we see that it has not even been shipped. Upon calling Cymax they refused to speak to my wife. For 2 days my wife tried to get an answer as to why they had not shipped, but the CSR refused to give her an answer because the item was paid for in my name with my Paypal account. Then my wife decided to cancel the item, but they wouldn't speak with or work with her at all. The item was ordered by my wife and I was by her side and paid for it. My wife created our account on her own computer & placed the order herself. She even spoke to an employee named Robbin just before placing the order. WE WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN AND WE WILL RETURN THE ITEM WHEN IT GETS HERE. My wife never got an answer, Nothing but grief!!! A long awaited gift for my wife tainted by these people. I went to get more braces, but I believe he made it hold without them. It is up. There is a little boo-boo on the top of the desk. I can hide that. 'Twas work.     We purchased the Dunhill Sleigh Bed in Honey Oak in King size and we love it. It is well made from solid wood and the hardware is sturdy. The finish is excellent and looks like it costs much more than it actually did. It arrived in only a few days and was very well packaged. The assembly instructions were clear and accurate. We are very happy with our purchase and would recommend it to others. The only items of note are that as some other customers have stated online, there is an approx. 3" gap at the head and foot of the bed between the mattress and headboard/footboard. It's not a problem, but it is noticeable. Also, the side rails sit about 7" off the floor. This measurement wasn't given anywhere online that I could find, and I wanted to let people know in case under bed storage is an issue or if you have a dog that likes to sleep under the bed like ours does.

    I recently ordered (2/18/16) a Sauder computer desk 401354 and found the instructions to be very complete. Not once did I have to backtrack and found the assembly very easy except: Being that I am 77 years of age I found it difficult to crawl around on the floor on my hands and knees. I completed the assembly in approx.. 6-7 hours work time. My wife helped me turn it over when necessary.

    You bet I had plenty of break time. I added a couple of things to the tool list: a magnetic tip screwdriver, a scratch awl or ice pick to help line up the screw holes,

    a small flashlight, large 7 inch furniture sliders. Wow what a help since the desk weighs 189 lbs and I did use a small 4 volt power screwdriver to run the screw down and then I hand tightened.

    Would I make any design changes? Yes. I would make a small 3-inch deep drawer above the cpu area as a pencil, etc area. As stated I placed my order on 2/18/16. It was shipped 2/18/16 and received on 2/19/16. The delay in assembly was caused by my house was being repainted and new carpeting was being installed. I appreciate the quality of service.     After finding the sectional we wanted, we ordered it through art van only to find out that the product was out of stock for a month. We decided to look online and found the same sectional on Cymax for $300 cheaper and free shipping. The shopping took less than 2 weeks, the driver was friendly and helpful.     I ordered 4 Zuo Trafico Dining chairs for a total cost of $552. The chairs arrived in a timely manner. They were poorly made and I would not pay $50 apiece if I saw them in a store. I contacted Cymax regarding returning the chairs. I was told there would be a restocking fee of $110.40 and an outgoing shipping charge of $31.96. I was also told the items had to be in the original packaging. I took the items and the packaging to a local UPS store and was told it would cost $270 to ship the items to California! UPS suggested I call Cymax and ask for a prepaid shipping label which I did. I was sent a prepaid shipping label for $25 which was deducted from my refund. I talked to 3 employees at Cymax and no one mentioned a prepaid shipping label. My total refund was $384.64. Do not deal with this company!

    Cymax customer is great but the 3rd party vendors they use suck. I order a large purchase of two love seats and still have not received them over a month. They should have been received on 2/16/16 and now I canceled the order because no one could get me a ship date. And how I have to wait 3-5 days to see if the manufacturer actually shipped my package. Well how come the manufacturer couldn't answer the question over a week ago like requested? I will not purchase anything again through this site.     I purchased a queen size bed frame & headboard. I received the merchandise & it wasn't what I expected. I was going to return it but I still need a frame. I asked to exchange it for another one. I was told I had to ship the item back, that I would be responsible for shipping it back and I would be charged for the original shipping fees because the item was shipped free. I took it to the ups store. $150.00 to ship it back. That & the amount they are charging me for shipping I will end up paying $200.00 to exchange this bed frame. I can't even return it due to the fact that after being charged shipping & restocking fees my refund will be $147.00. Add back what I would pay to ship it and they would have the item back and I would have nothing. No refund at all. What a scam. I guess I'm out $275.00.     I am an avid online shopper and have never in my life dealt with ANYTHING remotely close to the horrific customer service/cancellation policies/return policies that this joke of a website offers. After reviewing a large sectional on a multitude of websites who all offered extremely long delivery dates - I decided to order from Cymax specifically due to the quick delivery date. Relocating to a new state - I needed furniture for my new apartment by a specific date. After receiving no shipping confirmation within the time I was told by Cymax I called and was told the couch actually would not be delivered for 3-4 weeks AFTER it was shipped. So their "delivery date" of March 8th at the latest was looking more like April. Meaning almost a month with no couch in a new apartment. No thanks.

    Naturally I went to cancel which is always a breeze on reputable websites such as Overstock and Wayfair. I was told it was going to be taken care of and they confirmed with the manufacturer that the item was not going to ship until Monday. Their cancellations need to go through a "review." After being confirmed by 3 reps on the phone that it indeed was going to be cancelled and would be receiving a refund in 5-7 days I received an email the next day stating that no refund would be given and the couch would still be shipped. This time miraculously stating "Oh well not April but it will only take a few weeks." After asking what a "few weeks" means was told they don't know. This is a ball drop on CYMAX'S end - NOT the customer. If this is your policy you should probably have more direct contact with your vendors so your delivery dates are correct.

    Absolutely disgusting customer service. Take your business to REPUTABLE online retailers who will gladly refund your money when THEY mess up. They also will try to charge "restocking fees" and return shipping fees for an order you need to return if they decide not to honor their shipping dates. For a company to acknowledge a cancellation and promise a refund SOLELY to get you off the phone when they were well aware it was not cancelled is disgusting. Cymax has made my out of state relocation absolutely horrible and now my kids can sit on the floor for "a couple weeks" because we have no furniture.

Apparently they just want to deliver when it's convenient for them, not the consumer and there was no white glove delivery as advertised. Just drop inside the door and go. No time to inspect the product. However, I am very happy with my purchase and with Cymax.com for taking the time to make sure that I was satisfied.

    After debating purchasing furniture online and against my better judgement considering all the negative reviews about Cymax I went ahead and placed my order for the Abbyson Living Harrison 4-piece leather furniture set and I don't regret it at all. From the start even before I decided to order I had no problem calling their main number and getting my questions answered. Once I placed my order I was kept up to date with emails on the status of the order. The shipping company Seko which also has a lot of negative reviews online was equally wonderful to work with. I was phoned in advance of the delivery when the order was received in my home town. I received another call to set up a delivery day. And still another call to give me an estimated 4-hr window of when.

    On the day of delivery the men delivering called and told me about 35-40 minutes before they planned to arrive and arrived on time. The delivery service was what is called white glove bronze, which was free and included delivery inside my house. Now I realize they were not going to unbox or remove anything. All I wanted was the boxes brought inside my house and it was done. Both of the men, Jason and his partner whose name I didn't get were very professional and did a great job. As for the furniture, nothing was damaged in shipping. Hard to believe I know. I've had other things in the past that were damaged. It's just the nature of the beast. Damage is the risk we take. Luckily nothing was damaged.

    As for the furniture. It was just as pictured and a great deal at that. Since I never got to test it before buying I found the leather and construction to be in line with other sets I looked at in the 3-5k price point. The cushions are somewhat on the firm side. Much more than others sets I've looked at but overall a good buy. But the real reason for this review was to say what a good job both Cymax and Seko did. I would not hesitate to order from Cymax in the future.

    On Feb. 7 I place an order for a dresser made by Stanley Furniture. We will be moving shortly, so I asked that the dresser by delayed to ship after our move-in date to the new address. I ordered over the phone and now because the item is on sale. The customer service rep was very helpful. Even though I gave the representative my email address I did not receive a receipt, however, 2 days later I received a msg. from Cymax saying the order could not be completed without verification of my phone number because the billing address and the shipping address were different. I responded with two phone numbers that are under our name for confirmation and received another msg. that they could find no such numbers under our name (we've had these mobile numbers for six years).

    I find it hard to believe that I'm the first person to have an item shipped to an address different from my credit card billing address. The verification process was not personal or customer friendly. A simple phone call would have worked very well. When contacting Cymax 3 days later, I received a defensive explanation and cancelled the order. All it takes is one bad experience to leave a sour feeling about a company. Cymax will not get my business.

    I ordered a dining table that I had been looking at for a while online. I order from Cymax because it was the best price I could find. The delivery time was good. I waited about three weeks. They called to tell me that they would be delivering the table on Tuesday. When they came to deliver the table they brought the table into my kitchen and did not unpack it or set it up. When I reminded them that it was "white glove delivery" they said that there were different levels of white glove and mine did not include unpacking or setting up. I guess I should have read the fine print because I didn't realize that there were different definitions of white glove delivery. They ask that you sign off that everything is ok with the table at delivery. Since I could not put together and lift a 500 lb. table by myself, I had to sign and write that I was unable to inspect the product because it was still wrapped.

    That night when I had arranged for some friends to come over to help lift that table, I was putting the table together when I realized that no holes were drilled in the one base making it impossible to put the table together safely. I called Cymax and they told me it would be 3-5 day at least until they could tell me what they were going to do and then the same shipping time for me to receive the new part. Meanwhile, I can't put the table together without the holes because I am afraid that it will fall on one of my three children and we have no space for a spare table because the box was left in the middle of my kitchen.

    I have called Customer Service three times and they keep telling me to wait for an email. I have to give Cymax a negative review because when I spend a lot of money on product, I expect that if they are responsible for the error, they will do their best to resolve the situation as soon as possible, not avoid calls and the situation. They should have overnighted me the replacement part not tell me it is going to take 3-5 weeks for me to receive it while my family eats dinner on the floor.

    We bought a queen leather sleeper sofa on Christmas eve. Replacement sofa finally delivered on Feb. 2 after 5 tries, including one with damaged sofa. Described as leather but really pleather or bonded leather. Two weeks after we purchased the sofa, it dropped in price. Despite that sofa had not even been delivered, Cymax told us that it could not give us that price.     I don't normally post this kind of stuff but feel it deserves it. I ordered a recliner from Cymax on January 7, 2016. It was to ship by Jan. 20. On Jan 21, I received an email saying that it had shipped and was to be delivered on Jan 25. On Jan 25, I checked the tracking info and saw that it said that it had been delivered and signed for by an unknown name. I noted that this showed a weight of 200 lbs (way too much) and that it was part 2 of 2 with part 1 having been delivered on 1/22. I called. After being told that they had both the carrier and the manufacturer on the phone and was on hold 30 minutes, I mysteriously got cut off. I called back. Same thing again. This time, the agent called back to the number listed on the sale docs and my wife gave her my cell. She assured me that she had left a msg with the mfg and would call me back before the end of the day. I told her that I believed I was being lied to and asked to speak with a manager. No dice.

    She again assured me that she would call me. I asked for her direct contact and she provided me an email but declined to provide a direct #. As expected, she did not call back. I sent her an email this morning to which she did not reply. At 11:00 am, I sent another to which she replied "I am not even going to apologise, cause if I was you I wouldn't take the apology." I replied asking for an update on the order and have received no response. At 3:00 pm, I called again. I explained my frustration to the agent and demanded to speak with a manager. I have been on hold for 45 minutes and they obviously have no intent of picking up. While waiting, I started looking for another source to buy the chair. I noticed that the prices were higher than when I bought originally so I checked on Cymax.com and the price was $150 more than I paid.

    Now I know the answer - the price went up and they don't want to honor the sale but don't want to admit it. They could have at least lied and claimed it was on back order or something, rather than hanging up on me and putting my call in the dead box. Since they won't even speak with me, I guess I will contact my CC company and get them to reverse the charge.

    I bought 2 of these chairs to my living room. You get what you are paying for, they are great for a price, look good from a distance but after close look you will find small defects, like stitches a little off, bulky corners because of quick staple job, and so on. I also don't like that legs are plastic. And you understand that this is fake leather (?), never less they look decent for now. I only wonder how the shine on fake leather will hold after a year or so. Chairs are not comfortable for a longer use. I got them in a day and half, so was very happy with shipping and handling procedure!

    I purchased a writing desk from Cymax and it came and my husband put it together. He noticed that it had some marks on the top of the desk (looked like someone had placed a heavy tape on it and when it was removed it left tape residue in it). Also the hutch was missing a guide (the part that is inside that the drawer slides open and shut on). Three were intact but looked like the other was never put on. I called and was told an order would be set up and someone would contact me. I was told to email pics of the damage (2) at a time so they could see the damage. I wasn't looking for anything other than getting the missing piece that was not included sent to me so my husband could put it on but was told to fill out a full report of damage anyway.     Pay very close attention to what you are buying from Cymax.com. What you see in the picture and what you think you are getting for the price shown is often not what you are paying for. For example, I bought a piece of furniture. The ad and picture CLEARLY implied I was getting everything in the picture and it did not say anywhere on the ad that the parts were sold separately which is common practice with credible online stores. What they do feels a lot like false advertising.

    The furniture is also VERY overpriced given its very cheap quality. They do not back what they sell, their customer service is terrible in the case that you are even able to get in contact of them, which isn't easy because of their hours. Their return policy is very complex and takes forever if you decide that you want a refund, even if it is damaged. My advice, stay away from Cymax... you're better of going to Walmart! I hate to leave people nasty feedback, it is not something I do often but in this case I don't feel I have no choice.

    I ordered a console table sold by Winsome and two end tables sold by Convenience Concepts. The table showed cream online but came as a mustard yellow. The end tables showed a dark espresso color but came in as a reddish maple color. It took over 1 month to try to get return info from Cymax. I had to take pictures and email them to the returns dept and I even included pictures of what was shown online so they could see the difference in color. However, after all that and a month later I finally got an email back saying they don't believe the colors look any different and I'd only be getting half of my money back if I want to return them.

    I wish I would've read the reviews before I ordered! So I lost over $150 for something that was not my fault and clearly not what was advertised online. But I guess getting half back is better than having ugly tables sitting in my basement not being used. I order online a lot and everyone's return policy is pretty fair so I never expected to have this problem. Very upset customer and will not be back!!!

I did that online within 10 minutes of placing the order and then called in the next day to follow-up.     Cymax had competitive prices and free shipping as well as good product reviews, which led me to buy from them. It was difficult to estimate when my order would arrive from the communication received. I received an email on 12/30 saying the item had shipped, and it listed a time shipped that day. Yet, when I kept trying to track it with UPS, for days, their system said a label was printed on 12/29 with no other info. Based on UPS, the order did not actually depart the seller until 1/4, and then the delivery was delayed due to a damaged box. Not sure if it left the seller that way, or if the damage occurred during shipping. Luckily, the contents were okay due to some decent packaging inside.

    The quality of the product is good overall. The holes could have been drilled in the opposite direction - from the finished side to the unfinished side to give a cleaner appearance on the visible side. There were lots of wood fragments on the finished side that needed to be sanded away because the drill didn't go through cleanly all the way. One reason we bought from Cymax is that they did a good job of showing product dimensions, so we knew what to expect in terms of the assembly and could adequately figure out whether the item would fit in our space. Overall, we got a good value for our money.

    Abbey Oak 3 Shelf Bookcase arrived in good shape. It took only 36 hours to get from Archbald, Ohio to my door by FedEx. I already have another one like this. A good value. The bookcase is fairly easy to assemble. I suggest that a 3" to 4" x 1/2" board be attached (nails or screws) from side to side and from the bottom shelf upwards over the paper backing to provide additional support to the unit.

    The situation got worse before it got better; however, once it was escalated to Travis **, a mediation specialist, it was resolved to our satisfaction. My recommendation to anyone experiencing issues is to bypass the regular customer service agents (who remain anonymous and ever-changing in order, I suspect, to frustrate customers to the point of giving up on the complaint process) and contact Travis directly.

    My wife and I ordered the dresser set for our daughter's third birthday. We ordered two weeks in advance of her birthday. Initially, everything seemed to be going well. The price was right, the order was being processed with regular updates, a representative even gave a follow up phone call. Once the dresser was delivered, the company's ineptitude started to reveal itself. We were told to refuse delivery if the packaging was damaged. The packaging seemed fine, so we accepted the delivery. To our dismay, when I removed the packaging, we discovered a wide crack (not a hair-line crack) from the top to bottom of the front-right corner of the dresser. Without exaggeration, it looks as if someone hit that corner of the dresser with a sledgehammer.

    Open and shut case for immediate replacement, right? Well, I filed the replacement request immediately with an agent over the phone. She told me I would receive a follow-up email requesting pictures. I received the email within a reasonable amount of time and uploaded the pictures immediately. I received confirmation that the pictures had been received but no updates for three days.

    Yesterday, I called to check on the status of the replacement. The representative informed me that a mistake had been made and that the process essentially needed to be restarted. He acknowledged that the problem was on Cymax's end since the packaging was okay. I would think that this admission would result in an expedited response, but to the contrary, I am being told I can expect the replacement to be shipped a week from now and possibly delivered two weeks later (i.e., over a month after the order was placed).

    In my mind, this is an outrage. We currently have an oversized box with damaged merchandise taking up a huge portion of our downstairs, an area that we have spent a considerable amount of time maintaining and decorating for the holidays. Cymax has offered no compensation for this consumer travesty other than a 5% credit, a pittance considering what a disaster this process has been. Rather than a credit, we would much rather have an expedited response for the removal of the damaged merchandise and delivery of the replacement.

    If not for the hulking box taking over our living space, I would cancel the order and be done with Cymax forever, but it seems that the damaged piece won't be removed until the replacement arrives. I understand that merchandise sometimes doesn't arrive in its promised condition, but when that occurs, I expect the company to bend over backwards to remedy the situation. On the contrary, Cymax seems to be burying its head in the sand.
