On May 25th, I bought 14 piece front room set. It is now June 25th and the only thing that was delivered was the couch. I called the store and they just gave me an excuses and I will get it soon. It is hard to have people over when there is no place to sit. I know I will not be going back...

I ordered an adjustable bed frame and a mattress for $1100. When they delivered it I found the two legs are missing on the bed frame along with those supporting brackets. Now I couldn't even put the mattress on top of it because of that.

May 25, 2015 I went into the Ashley Furniture store at 14810 N. Frwy. Houston, Texas 77090 to purchase a living area set that I had seen in their store prior to this visit. I paid cash for the cocktail & sofa tables and financed the sofa, love seat and accent chair. It is now June 25th and I STILL do not have all of the furniture I purchased. On June 1st I picked up the sofa table and took it home. It was fine.
On June 5th I picked up the cocktail table (still in the box) and took it home. When I got it home, got it out of the box and assembled it I realized the table was damaged. I called the store and was told to keep the table until the replacement came in on June 11. On June 11 I returned the sofa table to the store and exchanged it for another one. Got it home, took it out of the box and found that THAT ONE was damaged also.
Moving on to the other pieces... I was told, originally, the sofa, love seat and accent chair would be ready for pick up by the 4th of June. It was not. I spoke with the manager several times and he assured me the furniture would be ready no later than the 11th. I don't own a truck so picking up furniture is something I have schedule with my friend in order to get it done. I was about to leave to go get the rest of my furniture and decided to call and verify that it had arrived.
It had not. The customer service rep told me that something had happened with the furniture that was financed and there was a hold placed on the order. The order had never been placed. I asked to speak to the manager ** and waited several minutes for him to get on the phone. When he got on the phone, he told me that he would PERSONALLY see to it that the hold was lifted and my furniture order was placed.
I told him that because I had been treated so poorly the least they could do would be to deliver it instead of having me come back AGAIN to pick it up. He agreed and said he would see if that was something he could authorize, and it would be delivered on June 19th. He also said he would call me back within 15 minutes to confirm. An hour later I had to call him back to check the status and found out that he never lifted the hold, placed the order OR scheduled the delivery.
The CSR then told me to contact customer care to ask about having the furniture delivered for the inconvenience they had caused me. They had no knowledge of it. Finally, I was told my furniture was ordered and would be delivered on June 24th between the hours of 10am-1pm. I scheduled the morning off work (I don't get paid if I don't work) and waited for them to call.
At 9:15 am I got a call telling me that they could not deliver any of my furniture because the sofa was damaged while being loaded onto the delivery truck. Furious, I asked him if they could at least deliver the undamaged loveseat and accent chair since I had given all of my old furniture away, and was told the finance company does not allow partial deliveries and asked to reschedule the delivery for July 2nd. At 9:45 I got another call from Ashley Furniture asking if I would like to have my accent chair delivered since it wasn't damaged.
(Clearly, these people need to get their lies straight). The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I was told by the guy who delivered the accent chair that the loveseat wasn't even on the truck for delivery. How were they going to deliver a partial order when the finance company has strict rules about that? To end this story I am telling you that I am about to make the SECOND payment on furniture I do not yet have!

We purchased a reclining sofa, 2 arm chairs and end tables. These were delivered 2 weeks later and within 2-3 days we noticed problems. We contacted the store and a tech was scheduled to come out a week later. Tech was a no show. After taking off work, called to complain and customer service said tech was there but no one was home BS. They then changed their story and said tech was there but at an earlier time than what was scheduled. Finally had tech scheduled and he did show up on time, only a week later!!!
Tech agreed sofa and end tables were defective and need to be replaced. We told tech we were not comfortable with the quality of the products and wanted them to be returned. The sales person told us over and over we had 14 days to return items. Now we are told we had 48 hours to cancel. That's 48 hours from purchase NOT delivery. I called the store and was told by ** the service manager that we could come into the store and "reselect" items at equal to or greater dollar amount and no we could not have a refund. I asked to speak to the store manager and I was told they were not available. I asked to speak to someone over ** and he said he was it. I think I'm going to go to the store and spend the whole weekend, both Saturday and Sunday making my "reselection" and while I'm there I'll let as many other customers there know about my ordeal. Bet I'll find a manager then.

I had a bedroom suit on layaway, however, it was very expensive so I got my bank to pay cash for the items including an armoire. Only to find out two weeks later when I never got my bedroom suit because the armoire that I purchased was sold and now discontinued since March of 2015 so that was the reason for the delay of delivery (ARE YOU SERIOUS???). I can't believe that my salesperson or store manager for the matter had no knowledge of this. I never received my bedroom suit until 2.5 weeks later, consequently, the newest delivery date is today. They are suppose to call me to let me know for sure they are coming.
I'm sitting here and needless to say they HAVE not called me to confirm delivery for today. Not to mention that I have not received my refund for my armoire. They said a couple of days which is now almost a week. I will never purchase anything from Ashley Furniture in Hattiesburg again and from all the complaints all Ashley Furniture Stores are alike. I am talking all my friends from coming in that store to make a purchase and enemies too, if there be any. For the record my name is Brenda ** of Hattiesburg Ms. Unsatisfied Customer.

My husband and I bought 2 Hindell Park sofas for our home in October 2014. By the end of January 2015 they began to pill. They have now pilled so badly that we could throw them away. It's embarrassing to say the least and after 8 months we need new sofas. I spoke with customer service at the Ashley store and although she was not rude in tone they decided that they do not stand behind their product and suggested I take a razor to them. A razor to fabric? And who will be covering them once ripped? I understand textiles and I know how to remove pills from a cashmere sweater but a razor to a soft seems a bit risky not to mention unnecessary. She said this can happen from debris in the home. What? We are spotless. If we were not, the pilling wouldn't bother us. We are 2 people in our household who spend very little time at home and have no children. We are disappointed, to say the least.

My husband and I purchased Cal King Millennium bed from Ashley in November. We financed the bed with the in-house finance company. They promised to deliver the bed on a Tuesday and call the day of the delivery and said they will not be able to deliver the bed and told us we can pick up the bed. The bed was so large until we had several people to help us to get the bed in the house. Once we got the bed in the house it so many parts to the bed and the poster to the bed was extremely large that it was no way one person could put this bed together. I call and complained to the store that I purchased the bed and they stated we were not allowed to pick up the bed and it was their error at the warehouse. We had to wait about a week or two before they could get someone out to assemble the bed.
The finance company called and told them they had to get someone out soon to put the bed together because I was not making a payment until they assemble the bed. When they came out to put the bed together they were missing necessary screws. The guys had to go to several places to try and find the screw and never found screw for 2 post. They also used alternative screws that did not come with the bed were used. Later we moved from our house, upon moving the mattress less than 7 months separated at the seamline. And one of the huge post separated or cracked. I called to make a payment and the RAC representative told me to call customer service department about the mattress because the mattress is still under warranty. Ashley sent a guy to my new home and he took pictures and I had to call every 3 days to find out was they going to replace the mattress.
They told me the best they can do for me is sew up the area where the mattress was separating at. I declined to allow them to patch a mattress I am paying about $1000.00 on and the stitching on the mattress is also raveling. The mattress is very lumpy. We was told in order for us to finance the bed we had to consent to an arbitrator agreement. I told the finance company I didn't approve of a mandatory arbitrator agreement and the lady told me that is the only was we could do the financial agreement and I had to purchase a mattress pad for $100.00 that they guarantee leak resistance. My 4-year old daughter had accident in my bed and the mattress pad didn't guarantee the leak resistance. I am very upset they are trying to force me to let them patch this mattress so they don't have to warranty the mattress. I need help. I would like to challenge the arbitrator agreement and go legal. If anyone can encourage me please email me asap.

On 5/2/15 I was told by the person who reviewed the damage that they are now taking a different approach and they will be replacing it. On 5/14/15 I finally received a claim number and on 5/15/15 I spoke with the company handling the claim and now they have to have another person review the damage.
Monday 6/8/15 I was told the driver of the Ashley Furniture delivery truck is not on the insurance policy and that I will have to take care of the damage myself. On 6/15/15 I received a letter from the insurance company stating they cannot complete the investigation to establish liability because they are not able to get in contact with the non-insured driver of the Ashley Furniture delivery truck. We ordered a few pieces from Ashley's Furniture store in 2014, a dining room table and chairs plus couple of bar stools and they looked nice for about a week. They are so cheaply made that just moving it from a place will make a dent or a scratch by simply touching another piece. The table top was not installed properly in the first place, we called and asked them to come fix it. A gentleman showed up but had no hardware for it and told us he will order it, but it will arrive to us and we will have to install it. Overall very bad quality furniture. Save your hard-earned cash and shop estate sales or online. Don't get drawn in by their no interest payment plans! I ordered $7000 worth of furniture from Ashley on 4/26/15. I just received the items today 6/12/15. I did pay $300 in delivery also. My queen storage bed that I ordered came as a regular panel bed with no storage. Called store and spoke with manager who says it is an extra $573 for the storage bed which first of all the salesman said that's what we were getting when I initialed the receipt. They don't want to give me any discount. DO not care about the extreme slow delivery. They are very hardheaded and unwilling to work with me. I know the only reason I ordered a $3500 bedroom set from Ashley is because it was storage, if not I could have gotten same item at Macy's for under $1500. So then I call them and they tell me it's still in the warehouse and it will take them another week since they don't deliver on Mondays! Just today we were notified that they would deliver between 2:30-6:30pm in a few days with no other options, which is a time we won't be home. Went to the Ashley Furniture on Airport Road in Arden NC. We picked out a Tempurpedic adjustable bed, very expensive for a bed. The first issue was that we were informed that the salesman told us the wrong price, only off about $4000. After mattresses protectors and bedding were added the total came to about $12,000... for a bed? But it's what my wife wanted so it was a done deal. Arrangements were made for all the items to be delivered together on June 10th 2015. Delivery crew showed up, removed the old bed and set up the new one. When asked about the bedding and mattress protector they said that they didn't have it but thought it was at the store for us to pick up. After they left we contacted the store and were told the bedding would be in on Monday. What the heck?
So now we have a new bed that we can't use because the bedding wouldn't be here for 5 days. Plus the fact that we will be out of town next week. The store manager was "busy" and was supposed to call back. At this time, 1 1/2 hours later, still no return call. Emailed the corporate offices and got a reply that said that store was independently owned and set their own policies. Basically saying "too bad for you". Again, What the heck? So after this I'm pretty sure I'm finished with Ashley Furniture.

I purchased 5 pieces of living room furniture, a couch, three chairs and a ottoman. The purchase was made the first of March 2015. We received a damaged couch and three chairs the latter part of April 2015. A repair person was sent a week later. He could not match the colors and a new back was ordered. It took the first week of June before the back finally got repaired. The ottoman had been back ordered twice. It was damaged in delivery to the Ashley warehouse. They reordered and say that it will be available June 10th, 2015. I did receive a gift card from Ashley. But after spending thousands of dollars, I will not purchase furniture from Ashley Furniture in Lexington Kentucky or any other Ashley Furniture in the U.S. I will not recommend the company to anyone. I do not think this is considered acceptable business operations.

Furniture was delivered with minor errors on most pieces. However, the chest had molding glued that was crooked -- not fixable. The dresser was delivered with a hole in the front towards the bottom and places where the staining was not even. I have bought furniture for 25 years and have never had any issues with any piece. I had to fight way too long and way too hard for the dresser to be replaced. Most of the drawers had to be fixed. The headboard had to be wiped down with a cleaner from the dust that was crusted with something and had a rough texture to it. We are buying NEW furniture. There should not be anything wrong with it.

WARNING: ASHLEY FURNITURE HOMESTORE (AFH) IS A COMPLETE AND UTTER JOKE! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY BY SHOPPING SOMEWHERE ELSE! This is my experience from HELL. First and foremost, I will give credit where it is due. Our salesman was fantastic. He was attentive, helpful, and personable. He should work for company that reflects his work ethic because AFH certainly does not.
In May 2015, we paid AFH in Sarasota, Florida, to furnish almost every room of our new home. Our grand total was approximately $14,000; We paid $12,000+ upfront, and financed the rest. Once we put in the order, and established a delivery date, we learned that a few items might not be available at the time that the majority of the items would be. We didn't see that as too much of a problem, and decided that we would schedule delivery after ALL of the items were available, which would be on June 2nd.
At that time, we made a decision that we would make June 4th our move in date since we ordered new bedroom sets, and were getting rid of our other ones, and would need a place to sleep. We gave our landlord an official move out date, and scheduled the power to be turned off at the rental property, hired our moving company, and commenced with the moving out process. After much anticipation and excitement, we were finally moving to the house we waited months for to be built. On June 2nd, we received a call from AFH letting us know that there was a discrepancy in our order, and our love-seat and end tables might not be delivered. We didn't like it, but we didn't see too much of an issue and agreed that we would accept delivery for another date on those items.
On June 3rd, we received a call from AFH now letting us know that there might be issues with the mattresses we ordered, and they might not be delivered on June 4th. We explained to them that was not acceptable and we did not agree with this. We demanded that the issue be solved and the mattresses be delivered on time. They said that they would do everything that they could to make sure we received them. They explained that they should be in the warehouse on the date of delivery, but just didn't know what time and should be able to be delivered, but just wanted us to know in case they couldn't be. On June 4th, the delivery drivers arrived with our furniture. They began to assemble the items out of their truck, and bring them in piece by piece. Everything appeared to be going smoothly.
They assembled the bedroom furniture for both our master bedroom and our sons, brought in dressers, office desk, bookcases, kitchen tables, chairs, barstools, entertainment center, and the sofa. Everything appeared to be going as normal. They started bringing in our box springs, and then our king size mattress. After that, the driver started to prepare the paperwork for me to sign. I explained to him that there was a full size mattress missing, and told him about the missing love-seat and end tables and how we were aware of them being delivered on another date. He looked at me like I was insane. He provided me with an itemized receipt, and told me to check it over. I pointed out the missing items. He really had nothing to say about it, and told us to get with the store. In the meantime, all the shelves to our new $3,000.00 entertainment center were laying on a blanket they had laid in the middle of my living room.
As he started to leave, we asked him about finishing the job, and putting the shelves in. He advised that it was up to the customer to do, and directed me to little bags of pegs that he left sprawled all over the top of the entertainment center, and then they left. Upon his departure, I started to assemble the shelves, and ran out of pegs. They didn't provide enough for me to put up all the shelves. Angered, I went through my house, and looked over the other furniture. I was VERY disappointed with what I found next. For our home office, we purchased two book shelves (about $400 a piece). On the inside of the top left corner of each bookcase, a very large warning sticker (about 8 inches long, and 3 inches wide) was stuck to them. It appeared that someone tried to peel one off, and couldn't, so they just left it. They are a complete eyesore.
On each piece of furniture, there was an advertisement hanging from it by a string that was tied in a knot: a real pain in the a-- to remove; Upon removing them, I discovered that all the furniture was made in China; yet another disappointment. At that time, we decided to call the store to voice our disappointment and find out exactly when the mattress for our son's' room would be delivered. Upon calling the store, we were told that they had no answer on the mattress and it was due in the warehouse today. We also expressed our dissatisfaction on the entertainment center situation, and the horrendous stickers on the bookcases. The representative we spoke with did everything in her power to try to rectify the situation, but unfortunately, her voice only went so far. As a result, we received a call from another representative claiming to be some sort of manager, from another location.
Talking to him was a complete waste of time. He had no solutions about the mattress and the bookcases. He called the representative at our store and told her that our only concern was the missing pegs, and to have some mailed to us. She was confused and explained to him that was not our only concern. After growing frustrated with him, she decided to schedule a technician to come to our house and fix the issues. She was hopeful that she would be able to get him to our home that same day. Unfortunately, that did not happen. An appointment has been scheduled for him to come on Wednesday, June 10th. We still don't have a time frame; He will call when he's on the way, which is a huge inconvenience for working people. Furthermore, thanks to Mattress Firm, and their amazing customer service, and quick turn-around time, my son has a mattress to sleep on.
After several phone conversations with AFH on the mattress, we still couldnt get an answer, so we gave up. Unfortunately, his first night in our brand new home, he had to sleep on his floor. We have started the process of getting a refund on the mattress, which can take up to 2-4 weeks. As of today, we still have a blanket of shelves lying on our living room floor, bookcases with atrocious stickers, and no love-seat and end tables. Thanks Ashley Furniture Homestore for ruining what should have been one of the most exciting, monumental days of our lives. As if building a house, and all that comes with it isn't stressful enough.

We recently purchased 2 dining room tables, 12 chairs and a gigantic sectional from Ashley Furniture in Lexington Kentucky. From start to finish we have been so disappointed with the way they handle business. We could hardly get 5 minutes with our salesman. We were asking other customers questions about furniture because we couldn't find an employee. When our furniture was delivered one of the delivery guys dropped a cushion on the way in so he kicked it the rest of the way down the hall to the living room. He propped a cushion up on the concrete stoop outside. When he carried the chairs in he hit the wall and chipped the drywall. Never even apologized. They left staples sticking out of the bottom of the table. I discovered that when my toe snagged on one of the broken staples. Several of our chairs wobble.
After we saw the sectional we decided we needed to add a piece and make it longer. Our salesman seemed annoyed to get our business. I drove 45 minutes to the warehouse in the pouring rain. Waited 20 minutes while they loaded a U-haul. Finally they told me there was a leak in the roof and our furniture was wet and ruined. For this inconvenience they gave us free delivery. How about pay for my babysitter, fuel and mileage Ashley? After owning the sectional for only two weeks certain pieces look years older than they should. The fabric is loose and bunches. Some cushions cannot be used because you fall over, they are so "deflated". I feel as though we've been mistreated and disrespected by their lack of care. They don't care as long as they "make the sale."

Made my final payment on June 5th when I was told I was beyond the 90 day mark though I was covered until June 15th. Agreement not explained properly by Company that provides lease. BE VERY AWARE!

I wanted to post an update to the issue with Ashley Furniture Homestore in Clearwater, FL. I was contacted by one of their managers shortly after I posted my original review. I was offered to either return the item, but pay a restocking fee of 20%, or return the item for equal amount of store credit. I chose to pay the restocking fee and be done with the issue. This issue has been resolved. My only words to anyone reading this is to read the fine print and get anything verbally stated in writing.

My wife and I went to Ashley Furniture Homestore to look for a new mattress. My wife has back problems so we conveyed to the sales rep that we were hesitant to purchase because of this. We were informed that if we purchased the store's mattress cover we would not only be protecting the 10 yr warranty on the mattress we would not have a problem returning the mattress if it did not work out. This was repeated several times to the point that you feel there is no risk in the purchase. Never once were we directed to any written policy that explained no returns on mattresses.
On the contrary, at the very end of the deal the rep again repeated we had 60 days to return the mattress. A week later we receive our purchase (king size Stearns & Foster mattress and 2 twin box springs). After the first night on the mattress my wife woke up in pain. We were told we had to give it some time (like 4 weeks). After 5 nights of waking up in pain we drew the line. We wanted to return the mattress. This is when the sales manager at the store makes it a point to be condescending and belittling in telling us the store's policy, regardless what the sales rep said or did. He said he had no control over his employee. I find their behavior and their way of deceiving us into the purchase very unprofessional and unethical.
I've reached out to the stores corporate office in Arcadia, WI, but have not received any correspondence on the matter after a week. I was told two different managers would contact me to discuss my options to resolve my issues. I have not heard from either. Don't purchase anything from this company. You will be sorry. All they care about is sales. Customer satisfaction is not in their company business plan. Consumer protection laws should be changed to address issues like this.

Failed to deliver complete order of bedroom set. We are on the fourth failed to meet the delivery time and date from the company. With different excuses and local management not willing to take a call from one of their concerned customer to staff members willing to help cover up for the manager. It's funny how they are on lunch, busy on the floor, or in a meeting; every time I call in to the store landline. So three months later, still no sign of delivery and no resolve or call from management. I am here to inform you all that you must take this post in great consideration and it is truly a major issue when it's not just one but hundreds of complaints.

After my shipment was delayed, my headboard and footboard of my queen bed arrived today. When I opened the package to the headboard, it was broken. I was on the phone for the major part of the day with UPS and Ashley Furniture about the "damaged" railings that are set to be delivered tomorrow. Went by UPS to look at the railings.. UPS said I could not open the box until it was delivered. Therefore, those could be broken, too. I went home with the relief that at least two parts arrived today but as stated earlier, when I opened the headboard box, it was broken. I am exhausted from going back and forth between Ashley Furniture and UPS. After speaking to a manager and her manager, they credited my account $35 for all the hassle I went through today... Again, that was before I got home and discovered that my headboard was broken. This has been so stressful. Will never purchase Ashley items again.

We are financing an Urbanology Wesling dining set. This has been a complete nightmare dealing with Ashley Furniture. We had our first delivery May 13, delivery guy setup the table - did not get a chance to completely inspect the table because I was running late picking up my son. When we return home that evening that is when we saw the problems with this set. First, the two leather chairs had indentation on the right top corner of each chair. As for the table I understand that this type of table have its lumps, but what we have is a badly defected table. The table is leaning down so bad a pencil can't even stay on the table without rolling onto the floor. The delivery guys couldn't even screw the nails in all the way to even out the table. Now we have had two more failed attempts. Customer service people are very rude thinking that these issues are all in our head. Went to Schererville, Indiana location.

It has been one month since I bought $2500 in furniture from this store, and I have yet to have anything delivered. The company was supposed to deliver my furniture on June 2, I waited all day lost over 800 bucks in salary for taking off and waited all day even though my window was 2:30-5:30pm. At 745pm a gentleman calls me and states that he has arrived, it turns out the dispatch sent him to Katy Texas, not Houston Texas. I am unsure how you can mess up a zip code, but this is a first for me. I then got it rescheduled to deliver today and took off again losing more money!!! But they stated that it was still on yesterday's manifest so they could not deliver it. WHAT?!
So now I am headed out of town on Friday, for two weeks, and still no darn furniture. I asked for a refund, and they state that I only had 48 hours from purchase to cancel, even though I have yet to get anything. Aghhhh!! I will tell all my military members do not go with Ashley Furniture!!! They charge you more because they know you have a steady income. I went back to the store to get them to price match the couch to that of another local store that was $300 cheaper. They didn't honor their policy, so over this company.

First off, let me start by saying that last July we purchased a bed and nightstand for my daughter at AFW. It was the Ashley signature dollhouse line. AFW brought the items the very next day and assembled them in my home and they're perfect not one issue. Fast forward to 5/2/15 we wanted to purchase a matching dresser and nightstand however AFW was currently out of stock of these items. We decided to go to Ashley and purchase the items. Our salesman ** said he would lower the prices to less than AFW's to save us money blah blah. Ashley's delivery charge was $99 which seemed high. ** assured us that AFW really charges more for delivery but that was a lie. The soonest delivery date was 5/27 which seemed ridiculous but we did it. ** needed help with the computer and called over his unnamed manager who was rude as hell and condescending with ** in front of us.
I had to call and reschedule the delivery because we were not going to be home. Waited on hold for 15 minutes for customer service and got a rude rep who couldn't find our order with our phone number or order # and kept insisting I was giving incorrect info despite the fact I told her that I was looking at my paperwork. She finally found my order 10 minutes later with a new order # but couldn't explain why. We got the delivery rescheduled to 5/30 and they were supposed to call 2 days ahead with our delivery window. That was a lie. I had to call on 5/29 to find out the delivery window because they are "short staffed." Not sure how that's my problem and if the time didn't work that's too bad since it's less than 24 hours out now. I would be charged $49 to reschedule. Complete joke!!
The delivery people finally show up with our pieces and the dresser has chunks of wood missing out of the drawers and on the sides. The back is barely hanging on and the drawers do not line up or close correctly. The nightstand is creaky and has gaps on it and chunks of wood missing too. We complain to the delivery people who speak little to no english and they say they can have someone come out to paint. These items do not need to be painted. We need new items that are correct. The drivers leave and customer service calls a few minutes later to scheduled painting. I said no and ask how to return the items. We're advised to go to the store. Get to the store and greeted by a smiling salesman. The second we ask how to return something he tells us where to go and walks the other way, he didn't even offer to walk us there.
We get to the return desk and are called up by a girl and then directed to another girl. We got a couple pathetic "I'm sorry's" and that was it. The rude manager was standing there but did not acknowledge or anything. Ashley does not do pick ups on Sundays or Mondays so we're stuck with this garbage furniture until Saturday and then can get a refund. AFW is bringing our new items on Monday and it's even less than what Ashley charged. Funny how that happens when we "were given such a great deal". It absolutely amazes me how this pathetic store is still in business. We have had issues with a sofa and recliner purchased here in the past as well. I will NEVER STEP FOOT IN ANOTHER ASHLEY AGAIN. I will shop at AFW or Roomstore which is two doors down and I caution others to do the same.

I was told that my "contract" states no refund/exchanges or credit. Apparently the receipt is a contract! I asked specific questions regarding the refund policy prior to purchasing the furniture. I was told there was a restocking fee. But at no time was I told that all sales were final. I even tried contacting the corporate office. I left several messages but no one returned my calls... We bought a fabric sectional from Ashley Furniture 1 year and 3 months ago (February 2014). This couch now looks like it is 10 years old. The fabric is drab and saggy. It's pilling and the cushions hardly stay on the couch. We paid over $ 3,000 for the couch and ottoman, and we expected to have this couch for years. We did purchase the extended warranty, and when I contacted them they said that none of our issues are their problem. They'll send someone out to "have a look" at the sagging, but "it's normal wear and tear." So at this rate, we should plan to buy a new couch every 18 months? This is crazy. I will never set foot in their stores again. They obviously don't stand behind their products, as no couch should look this worn and old when it is technically still new.

I called them, waited on the line for 45 minutes, gave them my address and was told to expect all my furniture the next day. They promised that the driver will give me a call 30 minutes before so I could drive from work. I have a serious back condition. 11" back fusion and severe psoriatic arthritis. I'm disabled due to my back condition. We asked for a salesman knowledgeable in mattresses and let him know specifics of my back condition and asked for adjustable mattress suitable for someone with major back issues. We tried a few mattresses and he suggested the mattress we bought. When my husband asked if a pillow top mattress would help, he said this mattress would relieve the pressure points better. Instead of relieving the pressure points it made it even worse. We called the store manager and asked to upgrade the mattress because the mattress created more back pain.
After waiting a few days for a response we were told they would not exchange the mattress even though it was encased in their protective covering. The manager suggested we buy a topper. Is that what you want to hear after you purchase a mattress supposedly on sale for $2,800? The manager virtually made our case that their mattress wasn't adequate for our needs. After adding a 4" memory foam topper on this mattress it's still not comfortable. We are stuck and have to buy another mattress from another store. Their salesmen do not have proper training to suggest the correct mattress and Ashley management does not care about customer satisfaction. Not a good shopping experience. On January 31, 2015, I purchased an entire living room set. A total purchase of $7,759. The earliest delivery date was 2/28/15 (an entire MONTH), which I was disappointed, but ok with. The day of the delivery, it was discovered that Ashley had sent the wrong color loveseat - being brown instead of the grey I ordered. The delivery team took photos and made the notation in their app on their smartphone. I was witness to this, as he showed me the notation when he made it. We were told that Ashley would contact us for delivery arrangements for the correct piece. In the meantime, we were allowed to keep the wrong loveseat as a loaner.
Two weeks pass and we still had not heard anything from Ashley. I contacted the local store where the purchase was made, and was routed to a customer service line. No one ever answered the line and although the recording said we could leave a message by pressing #, the system did not acknowledge that # was being pressed. Finally got in touch with someone at the store, they place the order again, delivered the wrong color furniture again on 3/28. Damaged our door frame in the process of the attempted delivery.
Redelivery has been rescheduled no less than three times since 3/28, Ashley keeps pushing it out (and they didn't even tell us they needed to reschedule on the last delivery date - they just didn't show up.) I have sent repair estimates to the delivery manager and called and left messages - no response. Guest Experience Managers at the local store are full of excuses and will not escalate my issue to higher management. It has now been four months since my initial purchase and I still do not have my order. I feel I am forced to report this issue to anyone else that will listen. I bought a mattress protector as requested by the sales associate. This is suppose to be their number 1 selling mattress, so said the sales associate. She also indicated that I could return the mattress if I did not like it after 5-7 days as long as I bought this protector. We even looked at another option just in case this happened.
I got my furniture and mattress almost 70 days later and the mattress was purchased that day via credit card. Love my furniture but hate the mattress! I called customer service and the general manager of the store to report my issue. I was told there is no comfort guarantee. I stated that his staff guaranteed me a exchange if I was unhappy with the mattress. I am waiting for their mattress specialist to come out and look to see if it is a manufacturing defect. This mattress sucks. I feel like I'm in a hole and can't get out. It's hot and not comfortable.
My mother warned me prior to getting this type of mattress but was assured by the sales associate that I would like it and that if I didn't I could exchange it. The only reason why I bought it was because of her confidence and assuring me that I could exchange it. I've been told that the sales associate did not say this, but will send someone out to inspect it. Mind you I had my mom on the phone and she heard the whole conversation. So these people are not honest and would sell their soul to the devil, just to make money off of you. Please beware of the mattress department! They are liars and thieves. I hope that I get satisfaction with this mattress in a few weeks, otherwise this will not be the last time they hear from me. I have also bought and paid for accent pillows that I have not received yet. Still waiting and it's been almost 90 days.

I explain to her that this mattress has caused issues with my sciatica nerve, it's hot, I feel like I'm in a hole, and that I am very unhappy with this mattress. They made no effort in pleasing me. My WARNING to you: DO NOT purchase anything from them, furniture or mattress! In January we went back to our local store in Ontario, Oregon and thought that we would try another time. We found a chair (power recliner) that we thought would work for us. We paid what we thought was a fair price and was told that it would be 2 to 4 weeks for delivery. It was about six weeks before we received it, my wife tried to cancel the order but was talked out of it by the manager. Since we have had the chair, it has not been the most comfortable chair to relax in. Two to three weeks ago my son noticed that something was wrong with the back of the chair. We turned it over and found that there were several broken pieces in the back of the chair.

And I had church members over to help me move my old furniture around and out of the house each time. Needless to say, my friends got a little perturbed, as well. The furniture comes in RTA. (Ready to Assemble) So there is no check or balance before the furniture is delivered to you. The delivery people come and if there is a problem with the furniture, it gets sent back only for you to wait another 2 months to get a replacement and hope the replacement is in good order when they deliver.
I had a couple of friends purchase from Ashley and they had horror stories, too. I also know a couple of people who worked for the company and is no longer there as they could not tolerate this type of working conditions. It's was kind of like ordering furniture from a catalog, except with no chance of return or refund if you are not satisfied. In today's world, Customer Service and Product Integrity is very important and this company lacks severely in both categories. Beware of their advertising, as well. It is completely flawed.

We purchased a kitchen table, sectional, end tables, TV stand, lamp, candles and pillows, from Ashley Furniture in Shiloh, IL. When we purchased the furniture the sales representative couldn't have been any better. She was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and assisted us with everything that we needed. That's where their excellent service has ended. We purchased the furniture in early April and was told it would be delivered on May 12th. We were called and told that only a few pieces were in and that it would be late May before they would deliver everything. We requested they deliver the products that were available on May 12th and then the remainder once they were available. We were told by one manager that this would be acceptable only to be called back by someone else telling us it was not. We called the manager back asking if it would be delivered or not (wondering if we should take off work to be home) and she said yes.
The kitchen table, wedge (for sectional), end tables, and TV stand was delivered. Once they left we noticed a gash in the TV stand and a tear in the wedge and called the manager at Ashley immediately. She informed us that when they delivered the rest of our items they would bring us replacement items for the damaged items. Today we were just told they will not bring us replacement items because they will have to inspect the damaged items first and the first time they will be able to do that is early June. I feel like we have been very patient but our patience is running out! Is it too much to ask for brand new furniture in a timely manner especially for the price we are paying?!?! Very frustrating!

RUN NOW! Do NOT purchase anything from Ashley Furniture! Their service/delivery guys don't know what they are doing and will put together your furniture like **, damage it and rush through it. Their 3 delivery men assembled my bed and damaged it. When I called for them to send someone to fix it, they sent me on a witch hunt. I have talked to customer care 5 times now, the store manager and now customer care again. They have yet to say that they will have someone fix it. When you call customer care to have it fixed, they send you through a process of phone calls and emails just to get someone out to fix it maybe... and their customer care specialists say "ask you a question" - it's ask dummy! Why wouldn't you want to have a happy customer and just send someone to fix the issue that their delivery men caused? Does not make any sense to me. I have never dealt with a more horrific company! STAY AWAY! Do not buy their crappy furniture!

I went into the store and was told the set had not been shipped yet (I am in California). This was very upsetting to me. What got me the most was the ambivalence of the two women I spoke to at the store.

ON 04/18/2015 my wife and I went to Ashley Furniture store and purchased a queen size 10 series memory foam mattress and queen gray foundation. 04/26/2015 mattress delivered. 04/28/2015 mattress has a strong odor. Called Ashley Furniture about the odor on 04/28/2015. 05/02/2015 an inspector sent by them came in, inspected the mattress, told my wife that he smelled something but did not know it was and that the mattress did not measure at the right height and told her that they would have the report by 05/05/2015. We did not get a call at all that day so I called them. I was told by the person on the phone that they wouldn't have the report until Wednesday 05/06/2015 and they would call 05/07/2015.
Again they didn't call so we called them at 4:20pm. This time we were told that the inspector said he couldn't determine if there was actually an odor because my wife had cleaned the bathroom, bleach that day and they mentioned nothing about the height of the mattress and I told them they were basically calling my wife a liar at which point I became very upset. Then they told me they would send another inspector out to do a 2nd inspection. I asked when. She said the inspector would call to schedule an appointment.
On 05/09/2015 the second inspector showed up. His name was **. He told us that he could smell the odor and that it was worse up at the head of the bed than at the foot of the bed. He did not take any measurement of the mattress. We asked him why and he said it wasn't necessary because they were replacing it. I asked when. He said he didn't know but they would have the report but 05/11/2015. He gave us his business card and if we had any questions call him.
05/11/2015 called Ashley Furniture and ask about the report. They told me they didn't have it. I told them that the inspector told us to tell them that if they had any questions to call him. The lady on the phone said she wouldn't call and that the report would be in Wednesday. I called again on Tuesday and asked about the report. The lady on the phone said she would check, came back and said they didn't have it yet and that different inspectors do their reports on different days and that they would call when it came in. My wife went to the store and confronted them. They again put off telling her they would try to email the inspector for his report. So with all our efforts to resolve this problem we are still sleeping on a smelly mattress. It doesn't make any difference to them. They already got their money. I know why my wife and I can't sleep at night but I wonder how they can. They used my cell phone number as an account number.

The next day he called and told me that my only option was to have it repaired by Saw Enterprises. When Saw enterprises arrived, I learned that they were never shown any pictures and they were unprepared to do anything (clearly Ashley was not contacted by Totally Kids), and Saw Enterprises would have to order parts. Found these beautiful chairs I thought would fit perfectly with my table. Since Ashley's was a high-end store, I decided to purchase two armchairs and four side chairs... unaware that there was going to be a $35 charge to put the furniture together. Who charges you to put high end furniture together you get from them?! Anyway, after the $35 charge, taxes, and 20% discount, I paid over $1100 in cash for the chairs. I didn't want to pay close to $200 delivery fee, so I told them that I would get the chairs myself. They told me the chairs will be ready in 2 weeks and when that call came, I got a truck to pick up my chairs. The same man put the chairs together and was going to load them on my truck. Before I let him load, something told me to check the chairs.
Out of 6 chairs, five of the chairs legs were uneven and wobbly, arm was not screwed in properly and the screw was showing, and the seats were not position in the chairs correctly and you could see the staples. The man didn't even take the time to take all the plastic off the chairs and fabric/thread were hanging from each chair. I left the man very upset and went to the manager who said the man is fixing the problem. Instead of fixing the problems while I waited on him, I noticed the man started putting furniture together for other customers and told me I had to wait. Are you kidding me!
I went back to the manager and she was not accommodating at all. Because she had this "nonchalant" attitude, it made me even more pissed. Therefore, I put on a gorgeous smile and told her to get the papers ready. She asked what papers. I said my refund. HUH, WHAT... but WAIT! Nope! Two weeks wait my ass... I had them to put my refund on my debit card. I had my money back by that Monday morning.

The Faux Leather sectional that I purchased a year ago April 22, 2014 is cracking. I called them literally a day before my warranty was to run out. I have a technician coming out to assess the furniture, and bring 1 cushion instead of 3? They said they were going to mail the cushion to me, but sent them to the wrong address, which delayed the process into the warranty's end. I stated that I felt that the amount of cracking the couch was doing was a sure sign that within the next year it would be in even worse shape! And that I felt that an exchange to something within the price range, but was not Faux Leather would be best! The Marble top coffee table that I purchased with the set has had incidences of the screws falling out! I paid two thousand dollars for the furniture. I asked to speak with the manufacturer, and found out that it is a Ashley made product, and was told to speak with them, as if the store was separate from its own company!
After calling them, I was then referred back to the store! I was advised that if the person who comes out and looks at the couch feels like replacing the cushion covers is enough, I then have no other options! If this couch is deteriorating at this rate in less than a year, I will have to replace these cushions each year at cost to me. And when I asked how much that would be, I was put on hold and he said another sales person suggested that I buy more than one set, in case they stop making the couch. I am still paying for this couch on my credit card, so I would actually still be making payments on a couch that I am having to buy parts for!!! Since they are the maker, I don't understand why they would not allow me to exchange it for something of equal value that does not contain the material they used to produce the defective couch!
I am on disability and this was/is a major purchase for me, and I intended for it to last! At the rate that this material is cracking, I will have to throw it away in the next 2 years! I am furious at the quality of their products. I had been a loyal Slumberland customer, and this is my first experience with Ashley Furniture, but it will my last!!!
Updated on 05/17/2015: The technician came out as scheduled without the cushion covers, and had no idea what he was at my home for, he said the obvious cracks were pokes (lie!) but agreed that all 3 cushions were unusually hard and needed replacement. I called them and was told it would take 5 to 7 days to hear back from their own inspector, and they wanted to send just one cover! I said "No I would rather get this over with all at once!" Which is how I found out it would take them 5 to 7 days to hear from themselves!!! I am furious! The tech said the couch is not good with sweat, body oils etc. So I said "Then that means it's not made for humans" and he agreed and LAUGHED!!! I have just been RAPED of nearly 2 thousand dollars as they Laugh, and refuse to replace the entire couch for a different one. I was in warranty when this started, but it doesn't matter to this Company!!!

Ashley Furniture is by far the WORST place to buy furniture. My husband and I went to buy a complete bedroom set for our master bedroom and a TV stand for the game room on 3/26/2015. Here is the HELL we are currently experiencing: The Sales Representative ** in the Katy store did not complete our order correctly after spending 4 hours in the store, patiently waiting to complete our order. We wanted 2 full size mattresses to make a California king. She ordered 2 California king mattress without a base. After 2 weeks of waiting for our merchandise, she called and said we needed to pay a difference of $795.00 to obtain the 2 mattress we wanted. An additional two weeks later, we received the bedroom chest and bed frame ONLY.
The following week and a half we received 2 night stands ONLY. One week later we received a California king mattress with no base. The California mattress was returned, since this was not what we ordered. Five days later we received the 2 night lights and the base without the 2 mattress ONLY. On average, we received 3 calls with an email and text per week to reschedule their delivery time. It’s been 7 weeks of PURE DRAMA with Ashley Furniture. Here is an example: They were scheduled to deliver 2 mattresses on April 30th between 10:00am - 1:00pm. At 1:28pm a representative called and said the driver is on his way and is running late, so he will be at our house between 3:00pm - 5:00pm. At 6:35pm we called since no one came to the house. We were told that the 2 mattresses and TV stand are in BACK-ORDER and will not be delivered until May 23rd. NOTE: Today is May 6th, 2015.
We were informed 14 days after our first delivery that we CANNOT return the furniture. For the past 7 weeks we do not have a mattress to sleep and yet we are receiving bills for payments. We have not received any compensation or courtesy call to help resolve this issue. If you are considering to buy ANY furniture from ASHLEY furniture, PLEASE do yourself the favor and go somewhere else!! We bought a sofa from Ashley's in Roanoke, VA on April 4, 2015. We were not sure we really wanted it, but felt some pressure from the staff to make the purchase. So we applied for the store's no credit check financing and bought the sofa. After we got home we reconsidered our purchase and on April 15 decided to call and cancel the order. My husband called and was told that they would have to speak to the manager about the restocking fee. We spoke to the manager the next day who informed us that we would have to pay the fee because the sofa was already on the way to the store. So we discussed it some more and decided we didn't want to lose the money and called back on April 18 and told them we would keep the sofa.
My husband spoke to the salesperson who sold us the sofa and she stated that she was glad we decided to keep it because we were so close to getting it. On April 22 we called back to the store. We were told that the sofa was not there, but was on its way and would be in the store on April 27 or 28. On April 25 my husband stopped at the store and was told that they would receive the sofa Monday or Tuesday and would call to set up delivery. So we waited. No calls. On May 2 we called back to see where our sofa was now and to cancel the order if it was not on the way. We were told that if we cancelled that we would have to pay the 20% restocking fee plus 40.00 for the financing. Financing for what??? We told them that it wasn't fair to charge us these fees when it was their fault that we hadn't received the merchandise.(WE MADE THE FATAL MISTAKE OF PAYING 139.00 FOR DELIVERY AND 161.00 INITIAL PAYMENTS UP FRONT!)
We also told them that we had our first payment due on May 1 and had not received the sofa yet. The manager very rudely said, “Did I call you for a payment?" We replied no, but our contract stated that the first payment was due May 1. He then repeated the above question very in a sarcastic tone. He then stated that the furniture had been at the store for a month and that they had been trying to call me to have it delivered. Oh no they didn't and I told him that. So he then said "Oh we tried to call your husband since his number is first on the contract." Oh no they didn't. We have phone records to prove it. In the end Ashley's ripped us off for 200.00. I was considering a queen size Tempur-Pedic bed, that was roughly $3000. I do not make decisions like this impulsively, so I held off and decided to buy just 1 queen size Tempur-Pedic pillow and Dri-Tec pillow protector, a purchase that totaled $233. Little did I know that pillow/pillow protectors purchases are final. The second I swiped my card and they handed my receipt: Poof! No return.
I went home that night excited to try out my new pillow for longer than the 5 minutes of awkwardly lying on a bed with a salesperson watching you. After about 10-15 minutes of tossing and turning I came to the conclusion, "This pillow sucks!" So I threw it on the floor and went to bed with my old pillows. The next time I could come in would have been that Friday or Saturday (today). This is when I learned that pillow sales are final. They don't tell you any time before/during the sale that it is final. It is only written on the receipt (not prominently), which, of course, they only hand you AFTER the purchase is made. What a load of BS. Well, Ashley, I'll be keeping this $233 crap pillow, but I won't be buying the $3000 bed. Thanks!

Unlike the Ashley furniture company who sold a product that was called "Durablend", yet don't really have any plans to help out customers that got stuck with a really poor product. Durablend, really? Lesson learned I will NEVER shop there again, for that, I rather go to Walmart and big lots and save money and I guarantee you that they "accept returns".

Ashley offered to help. Waited 2 weeks with now gift card. I call back and now they won't help and hold true to their word. I understand they have cost effective furniture but if you can save a little more but from somewhere else this place is not worth it and you will be replacing your purchase within a year. It's sad customer service is no longer something you can get from a company.

I bought an Ashley Sofa and Two Recliner Chairs. The seat covers are made of faux (fake) black leather, looks like textured black leather/vinyl. Not sure how long I have had them, not very long but more than a year. So no warranty. One day, I noticed that areas of the textured vinyl covering (black leather look) that is glued/sealed to the cloth seating fabric is peeling. Large vinyl flakes are coming off!!! It happened to all the seating furniture at the same time! Seems like poor choice of fabric material. I am very disappointed with Ashley selecting that fabric!!! Sofa and chair look like they have a disease now!!!

I purchased a Stearns and Foster Mattress in 2012. The mattress was $2179. I thought that the quality of the bed would be better, since it was a more expensive mattress. Within a year, one side of the bed was collapsed. I let two years pass and the side of the bed got worse. I was purchasing another Stearns and Foster and told the salesperson about my existing Stearns & Foster mattress. She explained that they had a problem in 2012 with the sides of their mattresses collapsing and that I should file a warranty claim with them.
So I did. I just found out this week, that my claim was denied because there is a stain on the mattress and that voids the warranty. A 25 year warranty is voided for a stain on the mattress!!! I spill a drink in bed one night and poof, the warranty is voided. Regardless of a known problem with the construction of the mattress.
Beware, Sealy, the owner of Stearns & Foster. Sealy, iComfort and Tempurpedic, will void your warranty if the mattress is stained!!! Ashley Furniture stated that they would be able to help me out if I bought an Ashley Product but they cannot help me with a non-Ashley product. AMAZING. Please know that if you buy a mattress and spill something on it, that night, your warranty is voided, regardless of the workmanship.

My fiance purchased a living room set from Ashley. We also purchased an warranty that suppose to cover damage or cleaning. Well, my fiance had got it dirty and I called to have someone come clean it. They took me through hell. I had asked for my refund of the warranty and I'm still waiting for it. First I had to fill out some forms and they wanted me to send the original receipt of purchase including the receipt for the warranty. Not happening. I've sent several email with pictures, and copies of the documents. They claim they never received it.
I called to find out what was the hold up and that's when they said I never sent them. Then it was they received the email but no documents. I asked for a physical address and still nothing. Not only do the couch needs cleaning, when you sit on the couch it feels as if you're sinking. We bought this crap in 2013 and I request an cleaning in June 2014. My warranty that we paid for is good for 5 years. They have yet to refund our money. If anyone is considering buying new furniture, DO NOT GET IT FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE, go elsewhere. Note: we only purchased a sofa and chair and paid over $1000.09 for this mess.

I had placed an order for a reclining sofa and loveseat in March 2015. I was told it was in stock and would take a couple of weeks to be delivered. Of course once the paperwork was signed and my credit card swiped they then tell me it's on back order and will take till April 29th. They called me April 20 to say it will not be available till May 12th! And the sales person who called said they doubt it will then and that they are sure they will call again to reschedule. They doubt it will come by memorial day and maybe not till mid June.
I told them that I was deceived and lied to and told it would take two weeks then once they swiped my card it changed to over a month and now three weeks longer and they doubt it will come by mid June. I told them I felt it was unacceptable and that I should be compensated for my inconvenience and being lied to. They refused and said I could cancel my order But they would keep almost $400 of the $1385 I paid for the furniture. They also then told me even though I paid with my visa that it would take 30-45 days to get a refund check in the mail.
Had I of known this I would have gone down the street, paid the same amount and had my furniture in 4 days. Big Mistake on my part! I should of read the reviews first. They seem to be most helpful till they get your card swiped then the BS begins. Who orders furniture that not special order to wait two months to get it and then they are not sure it will come then. I am worried now what shape it will come in and if I refuse it how long to get replaced. Everyone's reviews thus far made it clear they will not fix it or replace it once it's delivered. I am considering canceling it and cutting my losses to go back where I normally get my furniture from.
Sad thing is that a store right behind them carries their furniture and they have the exact same that I ordered and could order today and have it tomorrow, but Ashley says they can't ship it cause they cannot make it yet due to back up. This was my first time with Ashley and is my LAST!! Buyer Beware, Please save yourself and your money. DO NOT BUY FURNITURE HERE!! NO MATTER HOW GREAT THE PRICE MAY SEEM! You purchase a product they can't deliver and charge you to get your money back.

I called and emailed a number of times and no one has ever gotten back to me. When the salesperson called I explained to him how I cannot buy again from Ashley Furniture until someone calls me back. I had actually hoped to get a call today from a manager at least to find out what happened. Nothing. No call. Which was more expenses than the last one which I thought was leather but was not. I paid extra money for another sofa set... Here two years later the arm on the sofa started cracking. They have some very cheap furniture that does not last no longer than two years the most. Then they ask you "Do you want to purchase another another sofa set. This one is going to be more expensive and should last you probably 5 years." So what type of game are they're running over there?
I do not have money to keep purchasing furniture every 2 to 3 years. I advise all my friends and family and clients do not purchase no more furniture from Ashley. They're nothing but a bunch of rip offs. If you want real furniture that's going to last longer than 2 to 3 years I advise you to shop somewhere else... much love.

We purchased a Power Reclining Sofa from Ashley in Feb. 2015. It was delivered two weeks later. About a week or two later we noticed that when you open or close the recliner on the right side it would make a clunking noise and it wouldn't shut the whole way. Called store, and after several attempts to reach someone, they said they would have the distributing company contact me. They did and they said it was a bad motor and they would put it an order for a new one to be shipped. Once delivered we were call them back for a tech to come out. She never told me how long it would take.
Two weeks later I called and they said it takes 2-4 weeks to ship from factory. She contacted the factory and they say it will be shipped the week of May 4th which is actually 6 weeks from when I called initially. I have an idea she never set up the order. So we are waiting for... My question is if an item is faulty from basically the beginning shouldn't Ashley just have replaced the sofa instead of fixing a broken item. I understand if it had been months or more but less than two weeks seems to me to be a BAD ITEM. At this point I have no idea whether it is going to get fixed or not.

I do not, under any circumstances, recommend this Ashley Furniture store and I would like to share my experiences as to why. I went there on Saturday March 14th 2015 to purchase some furniture for my newly finished basement. When I found the set I would like to purchase (1 sleeper sofa, 1 ottoman, 1 chair, and 2 end tables), I had to hunt down a salesperson to actually help me. I found a clump of them lingering around the front of the store. They seemed to be apprehensive of helping. So I approached a woman and stated what I'd like to purchase.
After getting everything in order (approximately a 30 minute ordeal), I was told my order could not be delivered until Saturday April 18th. At that point, I asked why they could not have told me that before making me wait a half hour and that I would take my business elsewhere. A manager overheard and offered another 10% off. I took the deal under the auspices that it would in fact be delivered on the 18th to which everyone agreed would be no problem. I left the store not happy, but content with my purchase.
Fast forward to Wednesday April 15th. I received a robocall confirming that my order would be delivered between 12 and 4 on Saturday April 18th. I was pleasantly surprised and made arrangements to ensure I would be home that day. Later this evening, I received a voicemail while I was out that my order was delayed and could not be delivered until Tuesday April 28th. As this was unacceptable I drove to the store to get a refund. Upon entering the store and explaining to the manager that I wanted a refund, it took them, well, over 20 minutes to even find my order. After looking it up and doing what they could to find an earlier ship date, they explained to me that there was some shipping port in California that has their shipping containers and the people were on strike which delayed my order.
They offered me a $200 gift card to keep the sale which I politely declined. (Why would I want to spend more money at a store that cannot deliver their items on time?) Had they offered me $200 off my purchase I would have accepted. But see, that's the rub. Nothing they sell in that store is $200, so the gift card offer was basically an invitation for me to spend even more money at this establishment. I received a refund to my credit card (which by the way I had already paid in full, which means I will need a refund check cut to me from my credit card company), and left. The funny thing is about my entire ordeal is at no time did any employee apologize for the inconvenience. Had they just said the words they were sorry, I more than likely would have kept my order and accepted a later delivery. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing furniture at this store to go somewhere else.

Out of 3 recliners, 1 loveseat/sofa combination, and 1 table; we received the table and a poor quality loveseat/sofa on schedule (5+ weeks after placing the order). Since that time they have come back out and delivered 1 of 2 matching recliners. We have still never seen 2 recliners and the promised new loveseat/sofa (replacement for the defective unit). Multiple deliveries have been scheduled and then cancelled at the last minute with excuses like "your furniture never arrived in our distribution center" and the best of all "your furniture got here but it was mislabeled and really isn't your furniture".
When I've contacted Ashley Corporate their response is the Bowling Green, KY store is independently owned so they can't do anything. When I've contacted (many times) the store itself the salesperson seems very concerned but NOTHING ever happens. Right now we've been told we can expect delivery on 04/23/15 but who knows; they cancelled the scheduled deliveries of 04/09/15 & 04/16/15. We have no confidence at all that we're ever going to receive anything or that anything we do receive will be in satisfactory condition. It's like a lottery you pay for ticket (furniture) and then sit around hoping you win (something - anything gets delivered). Promised Delivery Dates seem to really be just "Delivery Possibilities/Guesses". I don't understand how they can look themselves in the mirror each day.

Ugh. My fiancee bought this furniture right before we met 3 years ago. We have had Guardsman out numerous times, one time they approved a request and fixed a broken (shattered) dresser drawer. Gee, thanks. Never mind the missing finish from the coffee table, end tables, peeling couch, beat up bed frame. Who cares that thousands of dollars were spent after they completely DUPED my fiancee into believing their furniture was high quality. In the beginning, he told me how "high end" their furniture was compared to the cheaper places, how they had shown him comparisons. Oh, that's great. Because after moving the coffee table to vacuum the rug, the leg splintered.
But since we had just been denied by Guardsman YET AGAIN, do you know what we did???? We threw our 3 year old coffee table in the GARBAGE, because we didn't have the energy to fight for our COVERAGE once again... We had to purchase new coffee and end tables, the end tables that they wouldn't even try to repair look so bad we put them in the basement. Now, let's talk about our "leather" couches... The arm of our couch is peeling so badly, so we thought for sure that would be covered, right? WRONG! The technician laughed at us, and said that it is bad product quality that is to blame, and there was nothing they could do.
Oh, okay, what about the love seat that came with a giant unraveled thread? NOPE. No one ever fixed that either, even though we attempted to have Guardsman fix it, then called Ashley and spoke to numerous people when we first noticed it. The love seat was about 3 months old then. But since no one even bothered to call back and attempt to express concern for our investment, here it sits with that same thread unraveled. A couple weeks ago, we called Ashley Furniture and my fiancee spoke with a manager, who had to "put a call out" and call us back because he "totally understood" our frustration. Hmm, how did that go you ask? I guess not well, since he didn't even pretend to care and at least return a courtesy phone call. Nope, nothing.
So, I will be posting this on NUMEROUS other sites as well, because I would not wish this on anyone. ANYONE. It is so embarrassing to have people in our home, sitting on our expensive couches, looking like we picked them up at a Goodwill. We probably should have, they might have held up better. Thank you Ashley Furniture, for your dedication to uphold the standards of your name and the products you sell. Oh wait, no, you could care less about the hard working people you sell your garbage to. Let me go work some more so I can replace our new furniture with some more new furniture.

Now that I'm on here I see this is a recurring issue for Ashley. On 3/29 I ordered an "Ashley" mattress and motorized base for $3,000. They set the delivery date to 4/10 and on 4/8 confirmed that delivery would be 4/10 between 12:30 and 4:30. On 4/10 they call me to inform me that I need to confirm my delivery date for 4/14. Now I gave my bed away this morning expecting the new one, I took today off of work and can't take any more the rest of the month but here's the kicker. When I called the store they told me they'd see if another customer ordered the same bed and they'd see if they could grab one. So basically, there's a very good chance that another "angry" customer yelled loud yesterday and got my mattress.
To make matters worse, they won't try and replace the order with another mattress that is in stock even if I had to pay more and they're offering me $100 gift certificates or waiving the delivery fee. That's simply insulting. Kudos to Ashley for perfecting the "Just In Time" inventory control system, crappy for us the consumers because one burp in their system and you become less important to them than a couple of days of interest they would have paid to have a couple mattresses on hand.
I've always bought locally through small stores and this time I am regretting not doing that big time. At least a small local store would give more than 4 hours notice that your goods aren't being delivered and would bend over backwards to make it right. The last time something like this happened locally they cut $500 off the order and gave me a free 10 year warranty and repair plan. Buy local, Ashley is obviously too big to care.

He is sending a tech out and everything is always 6 weeks, out for an answer. Now another 6 weeks out after the tech comes out. I have made my last purchase with anything.
It is exhausting that as a consumer a product can't last over a year. It is wrong. I am sure I will get nowhere with this situation because no one wants to own up to their crappy products. The manager at the Springdale location is a very very nice man. His hands are tied but he seems like a very good man. The corp. manager said he was the highest I could go. If you haven't had issues with Ashley's products then that's great. However, if you ever do you will grow cobwebs before anyone addresses it. Products do not seem to last over a year. There needs to be a law forcing these companies to carry a 2 year warranty on their products. It is really sad! Consumers beware! If I hear 6 weeks out one more time I am going to lose it! NEVER AGAIN! First time buying from there and last. From now on I will go to Hanks!

We were in the Decatur Ave store in Las Vegas NV. We liked a sofa, but were unsure if it was what we wanted. We were told that there was a sale at 35% off one item and to hold that price, we should put down $150. We asked if we could get the money back if we changed our minds, and were told by two salespeople that yes, we could just call and cancel the sale.
When I called on Tuesday, March 31, I was told that "LAYAWAYS" are non-refundable. I was unaware that we did a layaway -- I thought we were putting money down on the item. We were told, "Check your paperwork." We were given a piece of paper -- I was told it was a receipt for the $150. Now I am told it was their layaway policy and I have no recourse except to dispute this with my bank. I will never do business with Ashley Furniture again. The salespeople are all really young and most of them are totally clueless. I had to call the store 3 times and let the phone ring 40+ times. The first two times, no one ever answered and after letting it ring and ring, someone finally answered on the 3rd try.

The chair leg was chipped and they still try to give it to me. Ask for a supervisor or manager, waited for an hour and 20 minutes and still no manager or supervisor. So I gave the table and chairs back and went to the original store red purchased it to get a refund and they told me that they couldn't give me a cash refund even though I paid in cash. They said that I have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for a check to come in the mail. Needless to say I will not be shopping at Ashley Furniture no more and would advise anyone else to stay away. Their customer service sucks - was not very helpful at all. I'm very disappointed.

I was sold a warranty that would cover if the sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman fell apart or ripped or even if the cats tore the fabric. 4 years ago. Well, yesterday I found 2 seams that have come apart on the seat cushions, all at the same place on each cushion. Looks like the thread came out or the fabric is unraveling at the seam. This should be covered, right? NOT! Not covered by the warranty... I paid an extra $130 for 5 years of no worries and the insurance said this is not covered and neither is cat damage. This is insane $3000 for furniture that doesn't even stay together for four years. Now I understand why Ashleys never sent me a copy of the warranty. And why they did not have one on hand that day I bought the furniture and the bogus warranty.

We ordered a couch and loveseat from Ashley Furniture. They told us we would receive both pieces on Feb 7th 2015. January 22nd we went in to ask for our money back because we wanted to get furniture sooner because we had fold-out chairs and a futon to sit on and my husband is on disability due to back and leg problems. We were treated very rudely by their employees. They told us then that they had an "all sales are final" policy that wasn't mentioned at the time of sale. They also told us that we had signed a contract with them and that the furniture was being made especially for us. Later we called their customer hotline and was told the same thing and that our furniture was being delivered on two separate dates. We called because our loveseat piece had not yet arrived. They told us that it was on back order and that it would arrive by March 21st!
We've had the couch since February 7th and the right arm is sinking in badly. The material on the seat cushion has moved where it doesn't line up with the edge of the foam and the back pillows are sadly in need of more stuffing. Not to mention the seat at the right end of the couch is sinking in due to weak springs. This has been the worst experience we've ever had. In no way is this couch like the one we sat on in their showroom.

December 28th 2014 my husband and me went to the Plymouth meeting store and looked through the stock. We found a three seater and love seat we liked so we spoke with the sales person and ordered it. We got the insurance to cover it just in case as we are expecting our first child so wanted something of good quality. It took 4-5 weeks to come. We have it now 6 weeks and noticed within the last three weeks the lacquer that they put on it is coming off and exposing the leather that they dye before they lacquer it. All this has happened on the back padding where your lover back would rest, this is on the love seat as this is where we sit.
I called the store on March 16th and told them of the issue. They gave me a reference and the website to send pictures. I finally got around to it on Friday the 20th. I did not hear back till Friday the 27th and the lady came on the phone with, "Hello you have the furniture now a few months. We looked at the pictures. It is chemical burn so we are not liable." This was the whole conversation. No questions, no nothing, just you done it tough.
I would never put a chemical on my brand new leather seat and further more continue to put it on. This is the laziest explanation and simple stupidity at its best. No one would do this. I have had plenty of leather in my life time. Never have I seen anything like this. I asked for a supervisor who is equally unqualified in the act of customer care and they were admitting you can't do anything. I pointed out the contract, their store warranty, and my insurance. All say dye transfer is covered. My insurance covers leather peeling and cracking.
They clearly don't stand by their product seeing as we have it 6 weeks there has to be some kind of return policy as I refuse to believe this is the first time it has happened. Bad quality, bad customer service, and plain robbers who sell bad furniture and then see how to avoid the consequences. It is a joke. My husband and I spent $6000 in the last year and this is the way they treat you. Don't buy from this company. They are not a good company and once you pay they tell you they are not liable. The mistake I made was buying from them. All we done was sit on our seats and this happened. No chemical was ever put on it. We didn't have it long enough to have to clean it.

They state since there are multiple issues with the sofa that the warranty isn't applicable, that it is the owner's fault. Ridiculous! Crest is the company that enforces the warranty for Ashley and their staff have been horrible. One delivery man asked for a beer, another time, after waiting 3 weeks for my couch to be repaired and delivered, the wrong couch was delivered to me instead and I had to wait for my correct couch to be delivered again then afterwards.

I should have checked online reviews before buying the recliner from Ashley Furniture. AF sent flyers for few weeks, advertising warehouse clearing sale. So, my husband and I went to the nearest AF to buy a sofa. After talking to a nice lady who works there, we ended up buying a loveseat recliner for $1000. The lady said that it would take about 2 weeks for the delivery but usually it takes less than that. She also mentioned that it could take up to 6 weeks at the latest. I was not happy about the waiting time but I really liked the chair so I said it is ok. For some reason, contract said 2 to 8 weeks. So, it was wrong from the beginning. I just didn't want to see it.
Now it is week 9 but I still don't have the recliner. I made my first call on week 4 and it has been a battle ever since. They called several times only to tell me that the delivery schedule has been delayed (not to my place. to its own warehouse from out-of-state). I got another call today and the recliner should arrive to their warehouse next week. After that, they are not sure how long it would take to deliver it to my place. Clearly they are in breach of contract so I am considering whether to cancel the whole thing off. However, some of the online reviews are stopping me from canceling the contract because AF charge 30% restocking fee or something. I want to avoid fighting with them if I can.
Anyway if you already bought something from them, I feel so sorry for you. If you haven't bought anything yet, God Bless You. Stay away from this hell store. It brings nothing but suffering.

After only two years of having our kitchen table and chairs, the finish on the top of the table started coming off. It looked terrible. I had to hide it with a tablecloth! (A couple other parts to the chairs were coming apart also, but that was not as concerning because we could somewhat fix them.) When I contacted the store they said they first said they only had a record of us in the computer as buying a dresser. I told them we had bought a bar w/stools, a complete bedroom set, and a kitchen table with matching barstools.
She later came back and said she had found the record, but because the table was 2 years old and we did not purchase the extended warranty there was nothing Ashley Furniture would do to help. Bought living room furniture - sectional couch and tables with 5 year extended warranty from Patchogue, NY store in May 2014. Should have known not to when I learned before I made the purchase that all Ashley stores are independently owned and all have different warranty policies. The couch section has settled very differently than the rest of the sectional. It has also broken the frame 3 different times in different areas. I have had them here twice already for the frame poking thru the leather in back of the couch. The last time was last week, when the tech fixed it he said he saw where it was fixed and was broken in another spot due to poor build. He left and later in the day we noted it broken the same place he had to work on it.
We called Ashley back, complained it is still broken where they were to fix it. They told us that that the warranty was now invalid because of the tech writing it up as being from "abuse" as he saw my 7 year old climbing on the couch. We had problems from the very beginning on a top of the line 7-piece leather sectional that was delivered on Dec. 27, 2013. It started with the order being written incorrectly. The result was that the wrong pieces were delivered and it took 3 weeks to get straighten out. Within 6 months the leather on the back of one recliner began literally peeling! Ashley replaced that piece. Now, in March of 2015, less than 6 months later, the same recliner is peeling again. This time they refused to replace the whole recliner but sent just the back cover. When the installer arrived today to replace the defective piece he realized it was a different grain. He left taking the piece with him.
I called Ashley c/s asking them to pick up the entire sectional as I am sick to death of the problems. But, of course, that is out of the question! So, they are going to, once again, send out the replacement cover and even refuse to replace the recliner. I asked to speak with a manager but was told she was not available, then that she was on the phone. The girl I talked to said she would only be able to do exactly what she is doing, replacing the leather piece.
At the same time of the original order, I order a large area rug that also was defective. It had many wrinkles that did not settle down even after 4 months. The one bright light at that time was ** who was the PFLUGERVILLE TX store manager and had come out to inspect the rug, realized it was defective and credited our account. ** is no longer at that store. I had tried to talk to the new store manager but was refused and told to call customer service.
One last thing. I purchased Montage Protection for $600 as I was told that if it was damaged or defective at any time within 5 years they would pick up the entire sectional for full credit for something else. When I called them about this problem they said they can't help on manufactured defect. All they would do is REPAIR the damage that was caused by us, not replace. I purchased a Mattress at Ashley Furniture Homestore on 5/10/2008 for the total amount of $1422.02. I purchased all the recommended items, such us a "Common QN Box" for the support of the mattress; I also paid delivery charge because I was told that unless Ashley Furniture Homestore delivered the mattress that it would ensure that the mattress arrived at my home without undergoing any damages. The sales person never told me that I was required to purchase a Mattress Cover to keep the warranty intact, Sealy's online warranty does not require that I purchase a Mattress Cover. Sealy's Warranty package was supposed to cover my mattress for 10 yrs from the date of purchase. Here is what they are saying to evade honoring the warranty. If the mattress was not covered with a Mattress Cover, which I didn't have, the warranty is void.
Here is the convenient term that they use: "Any product found to be in an Unreasonably Unsanitary Condition, meaning the product is so PERVASIVELY SOILED that 1) an inspector is unable to conduct an appropriate inspection of the condition of the product without being exposed to potentially dangerous bodily fluids, bloodborne pathogens, or other substances that could cause significant injury". The term Unreasonably is a loosely used term, and it is chosen for a reason, it is used because its impossible to disprove. Mind you the Inspector was able to inspect the mattress and yet they are denying honoring their Warranty due to a coffee stain. When their inspector came out on 3/11/2015 he found that the mattress was 2" inches or more indented, which is well within the coverage for warranty.
As per Sealy's Warranty since the inspector was able to conduct his inspection w/o significant injury and because the mattress was found faulty; then I am in compliance and am entitled to a new mattress. And they are still refusing. I do not take kindly to "strategic corporate" endeavors that are formulated with the sole intention of "getting over on the customer". I have read your policy and as an added courtesy have included it in this response message. I want to address this on many fronts. First, I do not like it when a product is sold to me as a "Cadillac" and then when I call on the retailer and ask for help with the product that they sold to me they turn around and tell me "sorry we cant help". The only reason I purchased this product from Ashley Furniture Homestore was because they offered this warranty with the mattress. The sales person went on and on about this warranty.
Not once, did she even present to me to purchase a mattress cover, nor did she say that w/o the cover your mattress warranty will not be honored. Let's look at the facts; I included my receipt, I ask: "can it be that a person who spends over $1400.00 dollars on a mattress really decide not to spend an additional $25-$30 on a mattress cover??" Really?? The truth is that this matter cannot and will not be decided on speculation alone, but, based on my experience it is my understanding that Ashley Furniture Homestore sales reps "INTENTIONALLY" are taught to exclude these very important details so that when this day arrives, they can throw their arms in the air and say "there is nothing we can do for you". The Law tag is not on the mattress, you are correct, but is that reason enough to disqualify me from my warranty?? Are you implying that there might be a chance that this is not the mattress that I purchased??
I truly hope that is not the reasoning behind this. And in your response you mention that the mattress is "Soiled" and "stained"; the word Soiled and stained are synonymous, I appreciate that you're trying exasperate the issue with no ill will intentions "I'm sure". But, your inspector came out and examined the mattress and found it faulty. I know this because it is what he told me. When I called for a copy, ** (supervisor at customer care) told me that the inspection report was "Proprietary Information" and that I was not entitled a copy. A decision made against my cause and I cannot see a copy?? This is a shady deal, and is vastly different from what was presented to me approximately 7 yrs ago. Now as per my last response to your company, your inspector was able to make the inspection, which is the greatest concern as per Sealy Warranty policy, so then what is the issue??
I can place a mattress cover over the mattress so that your company can transport it with no risk to them. I hope that the reason you don't want the mattress with stains is so that you can either resell it or Lord knows what. Look, do the right thing and stop trying to cheat people out of products they paid you good money to receive.

Basically we were ripped off by $500. This is the second time I have been swindled by them. Years ago I bought a dining table from them. The display in the store was hard wood and the table we received was hollow laminate. I should have known better. Not sure how they stay in business. There is a reason why they only have a single rating on customer satisfaction.

We purchased a sofa and loveseat from this company and it started to fade 3 months in. We contacted the company and they asked if we purchased a warranty. Answer - no! Result, we were referred to an affiliate company that would sell us some touch up paint or dye. This lead us to believe that Ashley already knows that this stuff fades and is sub par. Why we bought from this company, I can't explain. Will we be back? No! Will we warn others? Yes!

I ordered a sofa and loveseat combo in Feb of 2015. It was delivered in June of 2014 when we moved into our home. In Nov my loveseat broke, I called the store to have it repaired. The girl I spoke with informed me that she put it in the system and someone would call me the following day to schedule an appointment to come and look at the loveseat. I called on a Sunday and was told by Monday to expect a call. Well I waited a WEEK and heard nothing so I decided to call the store again. I was given the number to directly call the warehouse that schedules all the maintenance calls. I asked to speak to a supervisor, he then got on the phone and said, "Well we have been really busy and backed up and haven't had time." It's been over a week at this point and he hasn't had time???
He told me he could not send someone until the next week on a Wednesday. I agreed and said that was fine. The next Wed, 2 maintenance ppl came out, spent over an hr at my house and said they could not fix the problem and someone would either order me a new one or they would pick the loveseat and bring it to the warehouse to fix it. 2 weeks went by and yet again NO CALL!! I again called the store and they informed it they ordered me a new one but it would take about 2 weeks. They said as soon as they got it, I would receive a call for delivery. Well AGAIN over 2 weeks and heard nothing. Called AGAIN and they said they just received it to call the warehouse to schedule the drop off. At this point I'm aggravated because instead of them calling me, I'm again calling them!!
We scheduled the drop off for a few days later. That morning my husband put the old broken loveseat by the door so it would be easier to the delivery men. They come in and immediately look confused. I asked if there was a problem. They said, "Are we picking up a couch or loveseat?" I told them the situation and they immediately said, "Ma'am there's another problem." I asked what it was and was informed that someone made a mistake and ordered me a couch, not a loveseat. HOW does this happen?? they explained that the communication at their stores are HORRIBLE! Mind you, these are ASHLEY FURNITURE employees saying this.
They told me they would call right away and have it fixed. I said, "Well can you leave the sofa in the meantime?" They stated that if they did and it got stained or anything happened, I could be charged. I told them to take it away then bc I have 2 small children and I'm not going to take the chance. They called the store in front of me to tell the manager. I was told AGAIN I would get a call to replace it. Well 2 weeks go by again and I HAVE TO CALL AGAIN bc I don't hear from anyone. They tell me it was back-ordered and would get to the warehouse the next week and I will get a call... Yeah right. I was also told they would send me a 25$ gift card for the inconvenience and the manager will personally call me on Saturday to inform me of the location of the couch! NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN.
Well another week goes by again and I hear nothing or receive a gift card so I call and speak to the store manager! He says he doesn't know why I didn't receive it so he will call to check on it and call me back and he also says, "Your couch will be at the warehouse tomorrow so they will call you!" I told him I do not believe anything this company says! He says he will personally guarantee it. WELL again another week and no gift card so I call again and this time I AM MAD!! He says, "The couch came in 4 days ago, no one called you?? I told them to call you!" Now I'm furious! I told him that no one ever called me anytime they said they would and this is unacceptable! It has been going on 4 months with no loveseat and they are barely 1 yr old!!!! He apologizes and yet again asks me to call and schedule the delivery! So I do.
I also told him I still haven't received my gift card. He says he will call to check on the card and call me right back. Well about 10 minutes later a woman calls me and very nicely tells me that she did send it but it got returned because she forgot to put the APPT #. I know accidents happen, but does anyone in this company know how to do anything right??!?! She tells me she can mail it to me again or I can pick it up! Well the store that I bought the furniture from and have been calling is only 10 minutes from my house so I tell her I would pick it up the following day. The next day I go to the store and ask my brother to go pick it up for me. He comes out and tells me that it's at the monkey junction store!! WHAT that's 30-40 MINUTES from where I live!!!
I call the store to figure out why it is there and why no one that I spoke with ever mentioned that store when all my communication is done through this store and I bought my furniture through this store, never once had any communications with the other store!! The woman who answered the phone was completely RUDE and nasty! She told me that she never talked to me and it wasn't her fault!! My point was I don't care who's fault it is, she should have just apologized and somehow fixed the issue, not gave me and attitude! She told me that she had already explained it to my brother and didn't understand why I was calling!!!! I was shocked by her attitude and asked to speak to the manager, conveniently he wasn't there!
When I explained my side of the situation, that I never spoke to anybody at the other store, didn't buy my furniture from that store, didn't call that store and never have been to that store, so why would I even think to go there? She did not care and continued to tell me it wasn't her fault! I was told the card will be at my store tomorrow. At this point I don't even know if I wasn't to go get it and deal with this store any longer! I am the most dissatisfied and annoyed with this company. I will NEVER EVER shop there again! I have been lied to every step of the way and giving nothing but attitude! It's going on 4 months and still no love seat and to boot, my couch is now sounding like it's going to break and I don't know if I even want to attempt to get it fixed! Clearly this couch is not the "high quality" they claimed it to be. I truly feel as if I was robbed for my $800!!

I recently bought a nice sectional couch on 2/12. The sales representative told me it would take a week or two for it to be delivered to me (as I'm in the process of filling out a credit check) then after I'm approved for it, she tells me it won't be until 3/12 until it's ready for delivery. I'm already upset because I just was told way before then. Now a month later when it's supposed to be delivered, (and the couch is paid in full of a grand) they call to say it's been back ordered and I have to wait 2 more weeks for it. At this point I'm extremely irritated, and request a full refund. They then say that they have to see how this transaction is going to take place because I paid it off and it's "my" furniture now. No, it's not. I have yet to receive a call back for more information on my refund. I will never purchase from this company again that's for sure.

I live in Houston and went to purchase a bedroom set and living room set at the Ashley store on San Felipe St and OMG the rudest "team leader" I've ever met. I told him if they do price match which he said yes. I gave him my paper statement from another furniture place and he said "Oh yea no problem." Well he comes back after 45 minutes of waiting with a statement for a DIFFERENT kind of bedroom set that I didn't ask for. After asking him again if he was price matching the one I had gave him when I walked in he said "Oh you really wanted that one. OK let me see."
So I wait another 30 minutes for him to come back yes with the same price I had gave him but was not including "mattress, chest, or dresser" and I was like "Wow wow but you're not including those items that at the other place had included in the statement I gave you." And in his words he said "Well then go and get them from over there," and walked away from me very unprofessional. Never in my life has that happen to me and I will NEVER purchase from an Ashley store EVER again.

So I decided it was time to buy a new bedroom set, after not having one since I was a kid. Went all out and bought the Shay one. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Total cost with everything $3500. Totally worth it (in my mind). Had a great sales guy who promised me the world. Went into the store on 02/21/15. I was told the bed was on backorder but I could have everything else by 02/28/15. I asked the sales guy, if I waited for it to ALL be delivered together, when can I expect delivery? He said I could have everything on 03/08/15. I thought that was a bit long but I said ok. March 8 comes along and I get everything but my bed. Actually I got the headboard rails but not the foot board. WTH? Didn't he promise me the extra week I waited would guarantee my bed? I was furious.
Called the store. Asked to speak to the manager. I got a moron who didn't care what I said. He said "So sorry you won't get the entire bed until 03/17/15?" WHHATTTT? I asked to speak with someone above him. I got transferred to another manager who actually listened to me and at least, acted like he cared. Promised to call me that monday 03/09/15 which he did only to say that the earliest he could get me my bed was 03/14/15. I agreed and he "SUPPOSEDLY" was going to credit the delivery fee $129.00. He said he'd call me on Tuesday 03/10/15 to give me the final details. No call on Tuesday. Then on Wed 03/11/15 another moron called me telling me the warehouse had been calling me for days. I was like "NOPE sorry no one has called me." She hung up on me.
I called back. She basically had no idea what she was calling me about and hung up on my again. Seconds later the manager I had been dealing with called asking what I needed? I didn't even call them. Then he proceeds to tell me my bed won't be delivered until Monday 03/16/15. WOW... really? So now I have to take a day off of work to get my bed. And with reading all these other reviews I have a feeling I will take the day off for nothing. I am this close to calling the better business bureau or my lawyer for some sort of breach of contract. I will sue them. This is ridiculous. Ashley is such a HUGE company to have this going on and have such incompetence. I should have gone to Living Spaces just like I had intended or gone to a mom and pop store. Oh yeah and my furniture is all scratched up. I ordered a bedroom suite - and paid close to $3000 for it. I was told I would get "white glove" delivery with this. In my mind this means a very clean delivery with no issues. On the day the furniture came, there were 2 people that came. The furniture was covered in dust from the warehouse it came from. They began to set up the bed (with under bed storage) and drawers and told me that 2 of the drawers on the bed did not close properly. When we looked at the, the rails appeared warped and bent. The delivery driver did call the distribution center in front of me and we ordered the 2 drawers that were damaged. We went up to inspect the rest of the furniture and they had left a grease spot on my brand new carpet which they did immediately clean. They did not wear booties at all coming into my house.
The first question they asked when they entered was if they could borrow a power drill as theirs was dead. When they were supposedly screwing in the bed slats, there was one on the end that was not screwed in and you could tell they had tried but gave up. So we have one loose bed slat. Upon the delivery driver leaving we discovered an additional drawer that did not close properly. I called the distribution center back immediately and left a message. I then called my sales rep at the store where the purchase was made. All she did was transfer me to the distribution center. I sent pictures and called several more times. Of course - they never got my pictures so I had to send them again! Still no call back, no help from the sales rep.
I finally got a call back from the distribution center who told me she would talk to her manager regarding compensation for my trouble and would get back to me at the end of the day. I heard nothing - this was on a Friday and I had to track her down on Tuesday before I could get any kind of information. The distribution center manager offered a $50 store gift card and my drawers will not be in until April which is a month and a 1/2 after getting my furniture. I am furious!!! Ashley will never get my business again!!!

My problem is not with the store I bought it from, but Ashley itself.
The sales rep has given the salesperson different ship times every week, sometimes two different ship times a week. I realize that there is a delay in shipments all around the world due to the longshoremen strike on the West Coast. I do believe that this is something that the Ashley reps need to tell the sales people, so the sales people can relay this to their customers.

I was so excited to get this sectional. But I have to say now that it's here I'm very disappointed in the quality. When we received it there was a slight tear in one corner which we took a picture of and I'm willing to live with. Also it was missing a foot which was sent out to us quickly. I have 11 grandchildren so I was looking for a durable sectional. My grandson took one of the cup holders out the other and I was really surprised to see that the hole wasn't even finished off. When I was in Costco yesterday I stopped to look at a very similar sectional but different brand. I lifted the cup holder out and it's completely finished off really nice.
Now they say you get what you pay for but this sectional is much less money and the quality is by far better. The underneath of the entire sectional has not been finished at all. I'm really disappointed I wish I had looked locally so I could have checked things that you don't see in the pictures they display. To send it back would be a nightmare. We had curbside delivery and I must warn you that means they leave the furniture wrapped and on pallets. I'm a senior so I had to hire help to get it in my home. So I'm sure I would have to get it back outside to return it. I'm stuck but I'm writing this so if someone else is consider getting your furniture through the Internet, think long and hard about it.

Buying my first piece of furniture, I was looking forward to an exciting experience but it turned out horrible when buying from Ashley Furniture. Salesman was professional but there was some "miscommunication" between my sales associate and myself and I had $2000 of extra items added to my ticket that I specifically did not ask for. I was not pleased with this since I am already stretching my budget to afford new living room couches. I was expecting my total sale price to come to just over $2000 but when I went to pay I was told I owed almost $5000!!! Fast forward 3 weeks to my delivery date. I purchased a 6 piece sectional and a coffee table. After the first day of having the couches I noticed that 2 pieces were completely broken in the back.
I called the service number and they sent a technician to my house to see if they can "fix" my couches. In the meantime, I've also had my coffee table break with one of the wheels breaking off of the bottom. I haven't had this furniture for 3 weeks and 3 of the 7 pieces I purchased are now broken. I'm still waiting for the replacement pieces and a replacement wheel for my coffee table.
In summary, I spent $2,000 for broken couches that are still broken 3 weeks after receiving them and the last thing I want is to pay that amount of money for couches that require fixing. I would have bought from an outlet store had I wanted refurbished furniture. I am fearful for the longevity of my recent purchase and I would really like a full refund for my purchase. Please be careful purchasing your furniture from Ashley's.

On February 18, 2015 I went to the Fairfield, NJ store to look at a sectional sofa I saw online and was interested in buying. I had called the day before and I got a price of $2525. I went to the store to see what it actually looked like and Thank God I did. That thing was humongous. It would not have fitted in my living room. So I looked around the showroom for something more suitable and I found a nice sectional. The salesman was nice enough and he gave me a decent price of $1168 (10% discount, free delivery). He told me I could have it by Saturday, February 21. I told him I would be back the next day to pay in full. That was February 19th.
I went back to the story as promised and paid the amount in full in cash. He told me that the schedule was booked for 2/21 and the next available delivery date was Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Okay not too much of a big deal for me, gave me more time to get rid of the old furniture and to clean the rugs. Tuesday comes and I received a phone call from the delivery guy at 6:30 am. He is on his way, he will be there in 30 minutes. Great!!! That is when the problems started.
He got there a little after 7 am and he came upstairs and told me that they could not deliver it because the pieces would not fit in the elevator and they were not allowed to carry it up the stairs. He said he would call his dispatcher. I spoke with the dispatcher and at first she was like, "we can give you a refund or you can go to the store and pick out another piece". HUH!!!! I think she got her wires crossed. I explained to her it was not that I did not want the sectional, the problem was that the driver said he could not bring it up the stairs.
She me that was not true, that they were only allowed to bring it up 3 floors for free. To bring it up the remaining 2 flights it would cost $10 per piece/per floor. That was not in the contract nor told to me by the salesman but okay $40 more was not going to kill me. She spoke to the driver again and told him what to do and that the store would contact me about the additional charge.
Now the nightmare begins -- they bought up the first piece, the chaise part of the sectional. As soon as they put it down I knew there was a problem. I told the driver that the chaise would be facing the wrong way and to stop what he was doing. I get back on the phone with the dispatcher and told her what the problem was she said to refuse the order and call the store when they opened at 10 am. I refused to order and the driver took the piece back to the truck.
I call the store promptly at 10 am but there was no answer, so I called back again at 10:30 and explained to customer service what the problem was and they put the salesperson who sold me the piece on the phone. I told him about the problem with the chaise, he told me when I went home to face my television (which was opposite of where the old couch was) when I first went to the store and tell him the side the chaise should be on. Okay, if you are facing the television the chaise would have been on the left. However, he got it wrong. I should have been facing the wall where the old couch was and that would have put the chaise on the right side (which was correct). I explained to him that he got it wrong and I need the order corrected ASAP. He profusely apologized and told he will call me back in a few minutes.
2 hours go by -- no call. I called the store back and asked to speak with a manager. Manager gets on the phone and I explained to her what happened and expressed my disappointment with the salesman as he had not called me back. She offered me a credit on the purchase, I told her I paid cash and she told me that she would have a check sent to me. She said all that needed to be done was that the pieces needed to be reversed. She would work on getting the order fixed and would call me back with a delivery date. I explained to her that I took a day off from work for the delivery and there was no way I would allow for my daughter to be home to receive the delivery being that it was screwed up the first time. I told her I could only receive the new order on the weekend. She said she understood and would call me back in a few minutes.
2 hours go back. I call the store again and was told she was with a customer and she would call me back. Another hour goes by and she finally calls. By now it's 3pm in the afternoon. Nothing has been resolved, the salesman never called and I am pissed. I started yelling at her about how terrible their customer service was and how it was very unprofessional to keep customers waiting for hours to fix an order that was the mistake of the salesman to begin with and that the salesman did not return my call since 10 am. She apologized and again offered a credit for my trouble, I told her it was not about the money. It was the fact that no one is working on my problem. She promised to call me back within the hour. She called me at 4:30 pm and told me that she got the order corrected. However, they would not be able to put me on the schedule for a Saturday Delivery until March 7th. I just lost it.
I told her there was no way that I was going to wait nearly 2 weeks for a delivery when the problem was their fault. I asked her if she could put me on a conference call with the dispatcher, no response - CRICKETS!!!.... She put me on hold and again came back with the same response, they were booked up for 2/28 and the best they could do for a Saturday delivery was 3/7. I told her that was not acceptable. She put me on hold again and came back with a compromise -- she would check with the warehouse the next day 2/25 and see if there were any cancellations for Saturday 2/28. I told her that was unacceptable as she was not scheduling me for any delivery date and if I waited for her until tomorrow the next available Saturday may get filled up and I would end up having to wait longer.
Finally, I told her if she could assure that I would be the first on the list for a weekday delivery then I would go into work late to wait for the delivery but there was no way I was waiting until 3/7. She put me in for Tuesday 3/3. Again I mentioned her my dissatisfaction with the salesman for not calling me back at all the entire day. She said she would speak to him. I did not get a call from him until 6:30 pm that night... 8 hours after my initial call to him. I called the warehouse myself on 2/25, 2/26 and 2/27 to see if there were any cancellations. I think the dispatcher had sympathy on me because she put me in for 2/28 (Saturday) and given the time for delivery to be between 7am - 11am.
I received my sectional on 2/28 and they were there at 7am and done by 7:15 am. They bought the pieces up the stairs without calling me and they put it together perfectly. If you ever get into an issue with this company, do not let customer service, the salesman or the store manager dictate to you what can or cannot be done. Take matters in your own hands and you will get what you want.

I purchased a lovely black 'DURABLEND' sectional in 2011 for $2100 from Ashley. I also purchased the protective warranty for five years from GBS warranty services that covers frame, structural and upholstery damage. The material has held up well over the last three and a half years. And yes I have kids; six to be exact. Recently, one of the seating places on the sectional has started to peel and wear. I figured I'm still under my five year warranty, let me give them a call (GBS that is). I'm sure I don't have to tell you what happened, as it’s been said over and over on this site. Yes, it's not covered because it’s not top grade leather, but yet they cover burned upholstery, ripped or torn fabric/upholstery and even stained upholstery.
Well I didn't buy upholstery, I bought DURABLEND and expect to be covered for DURABLEND fabric/upholstery (whatever name you want to cover/call it with). Why else would a consumer buy warranty? Certainly not for materials they don't have. Long story short, don't waste time on warranties. Don't let Ashley/Regency talk you into buying warranties that they know you can't use. And don't believe them when they tell you it’s better than... BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. They're liars and I hope they have warranty coverage for when they burn in hell and it’s not covered.

I purchase a sofa sleeper February 17th, paid cash, was told furniture would be delivered in about 3 days then was told would not be delivered for about 3 weeks, March 10th. My issue is that I don't understand why it would take so long for furniture to be delivered when I was told the warehouse in same state I am in. Now March 1st and I still got another week to go. This is ridiculous. I have purchase furniture from other furniture stores and it never took this long to be delivered. I was planning on purchasing the loveseat next, but if I have to wait 3 weeks for that to be delivered, I will never order from Ashley again.

Well all I can say is -- buyer beware! Ashley Furniture has such horribly deceiving policies just to ensure a sale. I purchased over $12,000 in furniture and items weren't delivered on time. When we tried to cancel and return an undelivered portion, they refused. They stated that you have to cancel your order within 48 hrs of purchase to get a refund (even though it can take them weeks to deliver), even though they didn't deliver on time (they actually defaulted on their promise...but I am to be held to the fine print). I told them I still had 3 rooms to furnish...about $30,000 more to spend...didn't matter! They simply refused to refund 1 stupid chair that they hadn't even delivered yet. I am held hostage by their policies...so frustrating!! Do believe I will be taking my business elsewhere! They simply do not care about their customers! Buy at your own risk!

We bought a matching couch and love seat from Ashley Furniture in Frederick MD on November 8th 2014. It was delivered 2 weeks later. Two weeks after that, a zipper on the arm of the couch fell apart and broke. WE did not touch the zipper; only thing I assume is when the delivery person put it together, he somehow may have damaged it as the zippers used on this couch are very flimsy. Any how we called the company and the manufacturer. They were supposed to send a technician to fix it, but then a week later said we were not in their service area. I just see this as them avoiding this problem. I recommend to everyone to avoid this business, if you buy from them just know that they do not honor their warranties on their furniture. We even went through the BBB and still got blown off!! Only thing left now is a lawyer to sue them. The company where the furniture came from is Mid Atlantic Furn. Dist. 7900 cedarville rd Brandywine MD 301-782-3800.

I made the mistake and trusted Ray **, a salesman at the Santa Maria, CA store when he had me initial and sign a sales agreement. I was not sure that the reclining sofa and loveseat would fit into our mobile home. He assured me that I had 30 days to decide so I signed unfortunately without reading each and every word on the document. The furniture turned out to be too big and I went back to the store 3 days later where the salesman told me he would ask the manufacturer to make the frame smaller. Another lie since Ashley only makes a certain model with a certain fabric as the manager later told me. It was when I was trying to get a refund that I was told, and shown on the agreement, that the "Sale is Final" as of Dec. 31.
That the salesman lied and told me I had 30 days before the sale became final and had told me that they'd make the fame smaller didn't seem to matter to the sales manager. He did tell me he would put a stop to the order and I could pick something else except there wasn't anything on the floor that I liked. I left the store with the sales manager assuring me he would call when they had new inventory. I didn't hear and felt uneasy about the whole thing, so I contacted my credit card company and lodged a complaint. I received several calls from the girls at the desk updating me on my order, an order the manager said he'd stopped!! I requested to talk to Jonathan **, but he was always busy and never returned my calls. I also contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint.
This has been ongoing since Dec. 31 and is still not resolved. Ashley, Santa Maria, has supplied both the BBB and Am.Ex. with the signed sales agreement which I was duped into signing. If the salesman had been honest and told me I was signing a final sale document as of Dec.31, I would never have signed since I wasn't sure about the size of the pieces. I cannot accept the furniture because it is too big. How can a company take my money with such deceitful practices? I have never lodged a complaint about a charge on my credit card and have always paid my bills on time, so this is not a frivolous endeavor for me.

I went in looking for a new living room set, we were helped within 5 minutes of walking in to the store. The young man that helped us was very nice and had no problem showing us around the store. So we finally found a set we liked and purchased it in cash that day. We were told by the young man that helped us that we should get our furniture in 3 weeks but they say a month just to be safe.
Well we purchased our furniture on the 23 of January and now it is the 25 of Feb, and they have not even contacted us one time. I did however contact them about a week and a half ago and they said all they were waiting on was one piece of the sectional we ordered. I told them that they could go ahead and deliver the rest of the furniture and I would just pick up the one piece myself. The young lady said that was fine and she would have the delivery department contact me, they have not contacted me and I have been waiting for almost two weeks now. I called again and asked when the one piece of furniture I was waiting one was going to arrive, and they told me it would not be until March 4.
This place has some of the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. I got my other living room set from La-Z-Boy and never had any problems like this. I got my bedroom set at Thomasville and they took 3 months to deliver my furniture, but they made that clear when I purchased my bedroom set. I do not mind waiting but at least be honest about it, and when people call you and you say you will call them back, CALL THEM BACK. Also, my furniture from the other two stores survived 3 moves and one was to Germany from Arizona.
I am going to go back to buying my furniture from honest and deserving companies. I can only warn you not to go to this store what you do is up to you, but you have been warned. Also make sure pay special attention to the two positive comments on this website, they are from obscure names and no photo. I think the store employees or management posted those comments, just something to think about.
UPDATE!!! I went in to the store at 4:30 pm because I never received a phone call from the store manager (I called at 10:00 am). When I arrived, I was immediately approached by Rob the salesmen who sold me my furniture. Once again, very pleasant and personable, he asked why I was back and if he could help me. I told him what had happened and he looked my order up in the computer and explained to me that they had only received half my order and the rest was scheduled to arrive on March 5th. I thanked him and went back to the service desk to speak with whoever I needed to in order to cancel my order.
A lady at the desk looked up my order and just confirmed what the salesmen already told me. I explained to her that I wanted to cancel my order because I had been mislead and deceived too many times and I had not even received my furniture yet. The manager walked over (the owner's daughter/tall,slender with dark hair), I did not get her name, but she told me she know she was suppose to call me but just did not have the time. I once again explained what happen to her and she said she did not know who I spoke with that told me my furniture was in and that they probably just misread the computer. We talked for about 30-45 minutes and in the course of our conversation, she revealed that not only did she in fact know who (Ashley, an actually employee's name) I spoke with, but it was annotated in the computer.
I cannot count how many times the employees of this store lied to me and now even the manager was not being honest with me. SO I PAID JUST OVER $600.00 in SO CALLED RE-STOCKING FEES. I NEVER EVEN SAW THE FURNITURE!!!! Now get this, they did not even receive all my furniture, they only had half of it and I still had to pay 30% of my total purchase. They basically stole $300.00 from me since they did not have to send all my furniture back only what they had actually accepted. I do not know what you are willing to pay in order to not deal with the dishonest people at this store but I will take my money and businesses to La-z-boy where I know the quality is very good and the people are honest. I owned La-z-boy furniture before and sold it for $900.00 eight years later, can anyone say that about Ashley Furniture.
Oh and I challenge anyone at Ashley furniture to dispute what I have posted on this website. PLEASE TRY AND SAY THAT ANY OF THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!

I am also writing the company, however since this offers me a forum as well I will take it. Customer Service with the Ashley Furniture Store here in Pflugerville, TX started off great, the in-store staff was knowledgeable and polite. The delivery process however almost sent me into cardiac arrest. This company bought the cheapest telephone equipment money can buy. The system immediately indicates that you will be holding because everyone is busy assisting other customers (probably true since they suck at logistics), then you wait for at least 30 minutes, someone comes on the line and tells you to hold again (another 30 minutes), because the goal is to have you hang up. However, this is the secondary issue.
Bought furniture in-store and advised store that I needed the bill to go to different address than the furniture (part-year resident) so wanted bill delivered to an address that permanent resident lived, so indicated no problem. This is the clue to my entire experience with Ashley, so on Wednesday received a call from Sales Manager telling me that the first delivery date for Thursday would not be met, would Friday be okay. I agreed to Friday, no problem. Friday around delivery time, I felt the need to check on delivery (my sixth sense told me there was an issue), called and after the hours wait on the telephone, customer service indicated that furniture order shipped to billing address - Really?
Call store who indicated not where they told them to send would investigate, of course that took the rest of the day and a trip to the store. Finally received call indicating that someone from logistics changed the address - once again - Really? Per store now they would send out to correct address on Saturday (advised them that I had a prior engagement and needed to be gone by 3:00 p.m.), assured me that my delivery would be between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Called on Saturday to customer service department and after another hour telephone call was told, "No your order is expected to be delivered between 12 noon and 4 pm." At this point my blood pressure is probably at stroke level and I hang up. Well at 3:00 pm with no delivery yet, I call the customer service one hour wait line once again and am told that my delivery number was 10 and they are at stop 7 and running behind, maybe by 5:00 pm delivery would be made.
Needless to say the customer service commitment from this company is horrible. Ashley indicates on their script (while doing the 30 minute wait), that they take pride in ability to deliver a quality product with quality logistics is a joke. They should terminate from the top down whomever is running that show and start over. This issue had a simple fix, that would have cost the company less than $100.00 and insured a customer that would sing their praises instead of tell everyone how pissed off they are with Ashley and their service. The company made their mistake my problem and made me feel as if I was paying for that mistake not only with my money, but with my time.

This store is horrible! We ordered $4000.00 worth of furniture. It took them 1 month, which was no problem at all, for them to call to confirm delivery. Once they confirmed our already scheduled delivery we gave away our furniture because we did not want two sets of living room furniture in our house. Two days later Ashley's truck never came. We called and called and called, but the store would not answer nor would customer service. We left messages and no one would call us back.
Finally we were able to get a hold of the delivery drivers and they said that they only had a partial delivery for our house so they were not going to come until all of our furniture came in ONE MONTH AWAY! All of this is unacceptable. Still not a single person would answer our calls at the store or customer service. I had to drive over an hour away to the store to fight with them to get my money back. Big Lots would give you better service than this company. I would not recommend this to ANYONE! This leather is covered with a Polyvinyl layer which rubs off any where there is any kind of abrasion such as even you hand moisture.
