    I had so many issues with this app. It would NEVER let me send money to Mexico for my grandfathers funeral. I did everything they asked me to do and they couldn’t fix “the issue”. I now use Remitly and it works great no problems at all.

    I can’t say more. It’s very user friendly and simple to choose and operate. Super speed transfers. That’s all I looked for and it is doing the best as expected. I don’t think other services are as flexible and simple as Xoom for money transfers. It all started with a try and ended up being my most favorite ones for an immigrant like me.

    I used to go to downtown to have money transferring to Vietnam the last 20 years, now I just sit at home and click the mouse. I used to pay $1.50 for every $100.00 to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, now $2.99 for whatever the amount. The first time I was kind of skeptical but the word PayPal won my trust.     I've used Xoom for at least the past 9 years. I've made multiple money transfers to relatives in other countries, as well as put money on their mobile phones (often called a recharge). In all these years, I have never had a problem or a delay. I often use the text messaging service for updates, which helps me know that the money was received without issue. I have tried other services, but nothing can compete with the fair exchange rate and super-fast, reliable service that I have received from Xoom. I highly recommend using Xoom and I often refer others to their service.

    I have a lot of family in the Philippines and I was sending money, then all of a sudden they put on hold and wanted a compliance check. So I did everything and for some reason, they decided that it was maybe fraud and stopped me for sending. I really not see how they have that power to do that as I have been sending to my wife's family and they just tell me it seems to fit fraud criteria. It seems so hard now to send any money from any company to family even when I do prove everything and this is just so unfair to people how to know what they are doing and who they sending to.

    The people at Xoom just don't care. I told them I know everyone I send to, I have seen them in person and all our family in the same area of the Philippines. What gives them the right to just say now and not give a good valid reason or even a way to meditate and see the real truth. And it is not just them now it is all the Remit companies are getting so bad and truly don't care what a good customer is telling them.

    I have family in Mexico and throughout the decades I have sent them money. I used Western Union but never liked it because it was very expensive. And now with XOOM it is affordable and unbelievably fast. Also I love it that they keep me informed of the completion of the transfers with a text!!!     I was having all kinds of problems trying to get money to my loved ones in another country when I discovered Xoom and all my problems disappeared. Xoom works in collaboration with PayPal so that really made it convenient for me to send money to another country. Xoom is flexible too. They can use your debit card go send money.

    I have been using Xoom for a couple of years and I love it! Overall, sending money through Xoom is fast and easy; the app is super easy to navigate. I highly recommend this service! My only suggestion, is that Xoom makes it possible to change the receiver name or receiving location without canceling the transaction and doing a new one. This would make it a 5 star!

    They told me to call for verification. I called and verified my information and address. They then after saying thank you for the info they started to interview me about the person I am sending the money to. I told them her name and she is my fiance etc.. then they started asking personal questions like where we met, how long we knew each other so on and so on. All this it was only $50 for Christ's sake. You would think I'm dealing with the FBI. Ended up they cancelled the transaction. What a crap.

    I was always told that if something seemed too good to be true it probably is - and this could not be more true than of Xoom. Three attempts to send money, all failed, no explanation and zero capability on the part of customer service to help.     After 6 transactions combined top up and small money transfer for help in poor country my account investigated. Asking my id. I gave passport and driver licence and demanding why I made tranactions to the 6 recipients. Complains. I awaited their response. Said soon but never arrived. Phoned. 30 min wait. Agent finally chat says response ok but now want me to confirm I read and understood customer agreement. I again comply. Again wait for call back. Never arrive. I phone back. Same long wait scenario. Agent finally says my answer ok. Decision to be made in one businesse day. I get email saying my account closed. No explanations. Don’t deal with this company. Not respectful of clients. Go elsewhere.

    Never use this company, they cancelled my refund with no explanation to why and 31 days from them withdrawing the money from my bank account they have still not refunded me! They lie continually on the phone and it is impossible to speak to anyone who will actually take action and make the refund happen! Xoom have left me in a very difficult, worrying and stressful time of life as they have all my money and I do not know when I will ever receive it! Do not use this company ever!!!!

    Xoom will randomly deny money request for non-specific reasons and is unable to clarify these issues via customer service. I sent money through them in June and then tried to again with the exact same information and recipient a few months later and they could not perform the transaction. They were also unable to provide a reason why.

    After 3 cancellation notices on the same transaction, I closed my Xoom account. I was expecting great things being that Xoom is affiliated with PayPal. Although the Customer Service folks were courteous, it was obvious this department is located somewhere outside the US. I tried so hard to decipher the accent of the first 2 representatives and had to kindly ask if there was someone else I could talk to. The 1st representative completely ignored my request and kept talking. I didn't bother asking on the 2nd call.

    On my 3rd call to Customer Service, I was told "something" had to be modified in the recipient information. I checked and re-checked my recipient info and, to the best of my knowledge, it was correct. I asked exactly what info is causing a problem and was told she couldn't tell me because that would invalidate their verification process. So, I don't know how to fix a problem, if they are unable to tell me what the problem is. 3 Strikes, account closed, I tried. Good Luck to you. It seems like a lot of people have had no problem with this company.

    I want to give less than one star but it is not available. I have transferred the money. It got completed and they send email like we had deposited money to your account. I have checked the account but I did not receive it. I called the service center, they are not listening our concerns and they are not taking the complaint. I am suggesting that never ever use Xoom service. They are not resolved my issue yet. I am waiting for more than 3 days now.

    I have been in contact with zoom for over a month trying to transfer money from my American to Australian account. They would never follow up and required calling and long hold waits on my end for every part of a 3 round document verification process. After the end of all of this waiting, I was told that my transaction had been denied and that I would be unable to use Zoom. That they would be unable to tell me why this had occurred, and that I should contact my bank about making a transfer. This is despite the fact that they now have my home address, bank statement, social security, passport, driver's license, and proof of address. If it were not for PayPal's name I would be in the middle of scrambling to protect myself from identity theft, and regardless would highly warn any future customers against using this scam.

    Impossible to communicate with this company. I wanted to transfer money from my USA bank to myself while I was in Costa Rica. They couldn't or wouldn't do it and closed my account because I didn't call them. Well the phones don't always work in Costa Rica. I tried emailing and they wouldn't or couldn't verify it was me. PayPal used to be my go to company, but no more.

    I am Pradeep. I transferred money to India through this Xoom service. I lost 95$. I complained many times. No one is responding. This will show how these people theft customers money literally. I send complete bank transcripts and transaction details still no reply from the Xoom people. Investigation is going mean how many days it will take, who take responsibility for the loss of money. I faced bitter experience with Xoom. If the people who live in abroad don’t send your money with this service, definitely you will lose your money. Waste and more untrusted services. Poor customer support. No one can respond.

    Did a transaction and it was cancelled due to verification reasons. They sent me an email requesting government ID, proof of address and bank statement so I emailed the documents which had my name and address and all documents. They sent another email that they could not verify the documents and I should call their number. When I called; they said they cannot disclose the reason as to why they're unable to verify matching legal legible documents. The customer service rep was also rude and arguing with me. Is your company stupid or what?? You guys deserve a negative zero rating.

    First they sent me an email confirming the money transfer request I just made. Then they sent me another email stating that they would have to talk to me over the phone or they would have to cancel the transaction. So I had to call them long distance from overseas. But that wasn't good enough. Then I had to send them a copy of my Hawaii state ID plus a PDF of my bank statement. You think that would have satisfied them but no, because then they forced me to call them again! So I wasted almost an hour talking to them through expensive long distance. And they still canceled the transcation anyway! They only said they couldn't verify my account information.

    But of course they could verify my information because it's the only bank account I have. I have had it for years and use it to pay my credit cards every month. And my Social Security checks are deposied into the same account every month. And they can't verify it! Even after sending them a PDF of my current bank statement! Of course they are just lying. The real reason I believe is that they don't send money when the sender is outside the country. So they are useless for sending money if you are overseas. But they are too dishonest to admit it. PayPal/Xoom is the most troublesome company in this world. I have never once had any good or easy dealing with them. They really are the worst!

    The outcome of my transfer finally went through but the process was painful. First l was denied without explanation after spending a bit of time applying. However l was allowed to file for an explanation and review of my case. I got a response and was asked to call to a review board and after giving her my complete address in the US, l got written approval that l could make my transfer. A bit too much work all and all. If l had filed and then been asked to telephone someone that would have been one thing but to be flat out denied without “any” explanation is not acceptable. Sorry, but always give an explanation of rejection, it's just good business practice.

    I locked my account online and the customer rep was not truly helpful in fixing my problem. I was able to provide all necessary answers except for 1 that I was having a problem understanding her question.     Trying to send money to a friend, but it was going to take several days for him to receive it so I cancelled the send. Then a representative from Xoom called and asked why I cancelled the send, told him it was going to take too long for my friend to receive it. He asked why I was sending the money. I stated for personal reasons. The personal reason was I was sending the money through a friend to another friend, which this other friend could not get to a bank to pickup the money.

    The representative stated that I would not be able to send money to the first friend any more. The representative stated that friend was blocked. My husband initially tried to create an account but for some reason or other, couldn't create it successfully, either he didn't receive the confirmation email or he didn't receive the forgot password email, etc. Then I created an account with my email id.     It took me 2 days to get every required paper verified by Xoom, But when I tried sending the transaction, it got declined. I called Xoom but they didn't give me any reason. 4 days later, I tried again and about 10 mins later received an email that it's got declined again. This time when I called Xoom, they said, "There's a restriction applied on your account" but when I asked what sort of restriction even after providing all the paperwork, the lady declined to answer. I asked why the system doesn't block me from doing the transaction if it's restricted and what's the fun of providing you all the confidential info and having the account which doesn't work, she said 'If you would like, I can close the account'. How RUDE!!!

    Used Xoom. Though it looks like a big name, PayPal is the owner, the service is crappy when you have problems. My funds never made it to my Indian bank account. And the customer care executive just shrugs saying, "We already transferred it." Really bad experience.     I needed to transfer 2K Euro from Canada to Germany. Did some research, found Xoom's website user friendly and pricing competitive (but not the cheapest). Went with them thinking that as a subsidiary of PayPal they are as efficient and retail guy friendly. Opening online account: started fast and easy, clear interface. Their quote on the amount went up quite a few bucks after I spent a typing effort on all the accounts details to initiate an actual transaction. I thought OK, not worth retyping all the info with a competitor for saving a few bucks.

    One worrying thing during the transaction initiation was their request to provide MY ACTUAL BANKING LOGIN INFORMATION AND PASSWORD. Xoom website does not make this mandatory but clearly pushes the customer to do it saying that not providing this information will slow down the processing time. Privacy is important to me so I declined this.

    In the evening I got an email from their compliance department requesting to supply copies of certain documents -- this is not unusual in e-payments industry I am familiar with (regulatory KYC, AML requirements). In the morning I scanned and sent the documents. Soon got another email requesting the documents. Called the call centre to find out what is going on. Spent 20 minutes explaining to a rep, most probably a huge outsourcing company in India given the English spoken. Very noisy call center at the background. After that the rep said all good, I am cleared to transact. Email with same content followed. In 30 minutes I get a phone call to my mobile asking me to provide additional identification details and confirm the transaction. Phone call is from an unknown to me 800 number from a guy with thick Indian accent. I thought it was a fraudster but was able to validate the phone number.

    I tried to understand what is the point of the call as I received a full clearance less than an hour ago. His answer: this clearance was from the compliance department, but I calling from the verification department to verify the transaction. I did not understand why and he could not explain. He also demanded additional information like another phone number and also "who is the guy you are sending the money to". This went for another 15 minutes on top of the time I spent on this "online" business already. I refused to provide additional information, cancelled the transaction and closed the account. In comparison, in the afternoon I went to my bank (they do not provide online wire service to Europe). I was done in 10 minutes, the teller did all the typing in German and I paid 15 dollars fee and got a better exchange rate. Compare and make your call whether you want to deal with Xoom.

    The initial screens and web transfer were easy and well laid out. I was falsely confident that my transaction was in process. The only shaky moments were when they asked for my bank account password. I am not really sure that anyone should give that for an online transaction. They put a hold on the money in my bank equal to the very small transfer (well under $1,000). Within 15 minutes I got a phone call from someone wanting additional information. I told them to email. Which they did. That started a 5 hour back and forth about what sort of confirmation of me, or my account they needed. First they wanted a full bank statement, which had my savings, money market, checking, credit card, home loan on it. Seriously. Then they said they only need the top part with our names, joint acct. Then they said names and the checking account bank #. That is not ever on a statement.

    So finally they said names and date. Then they changed their mind and went back to the whole first page with all detail. Then they backed off and said with blackout over all numbers and details. Five hours later they say they are allowing my little transaction. I wonder if they are a giant ring of international thieves. I won't sleep for days. Don't bother using this company unless you like aggravation, insult, and high risk.

    Not Good. Their rates and Western Union rates are totally off and their fee is high. You lose a lots of money through local exchange rates compare to sending through other companies like Remitly and local exchange rates. For example Remitly is giving me Rs.156 for $1 and Xoom giving me Rs.135 for $1 plus Remitly charge $2 fee and Xoom charges almost 3 times more like $5.

    I sent $230 Canadian to US $170. They sent me an email confirming the money in the recipient's Bank. No money never arrived nor they notify me. They request screenshots from the recipient's account to show the money was never there. After I sent them, they discovered that the money was withheld by the "partner" in US, whoever that is. (The screenshots were not necessary.) Now, they are requesting a color copy of my passport and social security information. They already have my full name, address, phone number, credit card information. What are they doing with all that info? Who is going to handle that it? And how? Because I refused to give more information, now they are saying that their "Partner" may not give the money back. Be careful with this company. It may work well for other countries, I don't know, but Can to US I would said is a nightmare.

    I tried to transfer a small amount of money ($100) to a friend in India, a man I have known for over 10 years. He is attending college studying to be a lawyer and sometimes helps support 5 Christian pastors and poor children with the money we send him. I was told by two reps, including a supervisor, that we could not send to him because he would be considered a charity because of his giving to the others. If he was related to me they said it would may make a difference but they had to validate it before approving the transaction. He is not related so I guess we can't send it. In fact, I received an email from Xoom saying my account had been closed. So, if you are sending to family you're okay but if sending to a friend be careful you don't mention anything about them helping someone else with the money.

    I have been using Xoom for over 4 years but had the worst experience recently so watch out before you do a transaction. They say 24 hours but it takes more than 5 days for money to reach destination account despite clearing all security checks in one go. It has jeopardized my relationship with my creditors. It ruined it as I trusted Xoom to provide a prompt service which never happened. Did a transaction on 23/8/2019. It’s reaching my destination on 28/8/2019 despite my follow up for 5 times and providing every correct detail. They did not do anything to speed up my transfer, they simply denied it. So please watch out and be mindful when using Xoom. Example: If you use a debit card for $2990 they charge you $89 as the fee to withdraw the money from your debit card. Then I called again today cause you sent me an email saying it was canceled due to Chase not paying for it, which I found odd. You locked my Xoom account and I couldn’t log in for no reason. I called Chase and said you never even try to collect, no money were withhold and there is enough funds to pay for this transaction.     Avoid this terrible service at all cost. I have a very high credit rating and was completely blocked from this transfer. Since I was described it as paying for my daughter's rent in Amsterdam they first blocked the transfer because I couldn't "pay on behalf of someone else" --- even my junior aged daughter. Both agents I spoke with could barely speak English and they failed to understand what I was saying. Later they asked for my driver's license and still rejected it because they didn't get everything that was needed and would not tell me what was missing.     I have been with Xoom past 5 years. I needed $9000 in India urgently. They claim to be instant. I even spoke to them before sending that I need this money. They said, yes It will be instant. Since Thursday Aug Aug 8 and today is Tuesday. Money has not reached. When I called, all they say, I will be notified by mail. Money from my US bank account was debited on Thursday itself. They were so rude. They asked all possible information you can think to verify who I am. My American passport, my bank account, my driver license, screenshot of live bank account summary page.     Tried Xoom for the first time to try to send money to the USA. Filled out the initial info and paid thru my PayPal account. A while later I received a phone call, allegedly from Xoom, on a 800 series phone number with now caller info, so unable to confirm it was Xoom. Caller then started to ask a bunch of personal questions. As this was similar to scams I refused. Caller said to call back and gave me a phone number that I was not able to confirm it was from Xoom. Then I got a text saying that they would cancel the transaction.

    I contacted Customer service on a verifiable phone number. They did say that the phone number I was given was valid for Xoom, but no explanation as to why it was not verifiable. They did go thru the verification process and requested further information/verification, which I provided. I then get a text a day later saying they had cancelled the transaction. Another phone call to them and they said they did take my money but it would be cancelled in 4-5 days.

    They can take your money thru my own PayPal account but can't verify from that???? Their customer service advised it was cancelled but could not/would not say why it was not verified. I asked if, since the original one was cancelled, can I submit a new transfer. They said it would be cancelled also! Avoid the hassle, DO NOT USE XOOM! Further research showed that Xoom did not even make the top 5 or 10, best money transfer sites. I can now see why. Time to review my relationship with PayPal!

    I needed to transfer some $$ to a friend in Mexico who assisted me with buying furniture down there. After doing the transfer online I received a phone call and was asked about 15 questions, many of them redundant. Two days later my transfer was cancelled because I had put the wrong banking info in by mistake. My bad. After I sorted that I did a new transfer and received another phone call asking a whole bunch of questions again which I answered. My transaction was again cancelled. I phone customer service and was told that there was a security issue. I explained about the first transfer etc and was told that my case would be escalated to another department that determined security matters. LOL. All of this was unbelievable to me.

    Anyhow the long and short of it and many calls later my account was cancelled by Xoom because according to an email I received because I did not fit their security prodigal. On all of my calls I was speaking to people who clearly English was a second language, they were reading scripted questions and answers and the call lines were very distorted... I felt like I was talking to someone on a camel in the desert.

    My take? I think they either want you to choose an option to pay for your transfer, hence all the questions like who is the recipient, how long have you known them, are they your family, have you met them before, how many times, will you be making this transfer again...yada yada. Or they are just stealing information. They now possess my banking info, my name, my address, my phone number, my recipient's name, address, phone number. Xoom seemed like a great concept and I do understand some level of security questions but this was like an interrogation; I fear there is something seriously wrong with this company. You have been warned!

    I noticed there was a fraudulent transaction in my Xoom account on 21st July 2019 5:35 a.m. I noticed the fraud transaction in the morning around 9:00 a.m. and immediately called Xoom. Xoom customer service asked to submit affidavit. I filed the affidavit and they informed that they will reply in 5 days. After nervously waiting for 5 business days I get a reply that the claim is denied due to insufficient information. Meantime I saw in my account unknown recipients with the same phone number added in my account. This was a clear case of my account hacked.

    I called customer service and they were giving one excuse after another. Xoom sent a mail that record the case in local police and they will partner with them. I lost all my hope, but then I called DCU, my bank and reported the fraud. They immediately credited the amount and opened the claim. Then after couple of day I got a mail that my case is resolved in favour of me. See the difference!!! I shall never do business with Xoom (I partnered with them because they were PayPal company though they charge higher fees compared to other service providers). In fact I shall now transfer money with a reputable Bank rather than these service providers like Xoom, InstaReM, etc..

This individual needs the money for a project he is working on and now it's put on hold because of this. It was very critical to get this to him so he could get this project done.     I send some money to my mother in law in Mexico however. When she went to pick it up they told her they couldn't give it to her because her last name was entered twice and that is because it asked for the maiden name and last name.     Although both sender and recipient were notified that funds were deposited at the bank, we did not know that BPI still held the funds for 7 days, made the recipient's account overdrawn. Lack of communication. When XOOM customer service was called to complain the transaction, Customer Service Rep. said that we should call the bank and complain there. Don't you have agreement with the bank to clear the funds since you already got paid? That's my only complaint, but that is a big one. You need to realize that we send money to our family because they need them ASAP.

    Very pleased with this service. I've been using it for over a year now. The funds are being deposited in the destination bank account the same day as they are withdrawn from the source bank, and in some cases the funds are being deposited in the destination bank before they are even withdrawn from the source bank!! With traditional wire from bank to bank the funds are being withdrawn from the original bank, they "disappear" for about a week or so and then they show up at the destination bank. That made me feel very uncomfortable as to what happened with the money.

    No fee if the transaction is over $1,000.00 which is super nice. Also, in my case at least, the rates are better than a traditional bank to bank wire transfer, although there is another online service that has slightly better rates than Xoom, but I prefer the security of a PayPal company. The first time that I used it they called me to verify that it was me who was transferring the funds which made me feel more comfortable. I certainly recommend Xoom to other people.

    In June, my daughter went to Paris and on the way from the airport had her phone and credit cards stolen. For the next two hours I was in research mode trying to find the best and most reliable way to send cash. The reviews online for traditional methods were very discouraging. Then I stumbled on Xoom.     There were some issues filling out the online forms but I can't recall if I faulted Xoom for that. Due to my credit card company thinking it was a suspicious charge and my own errors in entering credit card info, I must have filled the forms out from the beginning four or five times. But when I hit send, it was less than two minutes until my daughter had access to $500, at a location four blocks from her hotel. It was a relief. I have since recommended Xoom to all my friends and have told the story many times.

    One criticism, probably not of Xoom directly, but a few weeks later I got an email request to complete a survey. My experience had been so positive, I was happy to do it. The questions were not relative to my experience and it was very frustrating. They seemed to assume I was a potential customer instead of a satisfied one. I couldn't end the survey when I found it was not applicable and it was longer than promised. I am not sure it was sent out or not.

    I just thought of another thing that I've been telling people about. I was so impressed with the clear and upfront notification about how you make money off the transaction. When the last words before I clicked 'send' were that you collect a fee and make a profit on the exchange rate, I was impressed with your honesty and felt even more confident in choosing you. Thanks Xoom. I wish I had reason to send more cash to Europe. I repeatedly told my daughter I was sending more, but she insisted she didn't need it.

    As I'd written before, your service sucks! You promised "almost immediate" transfer of funds and yet it took 3 1/2 days for my daughter to receive much needed funds. And your customer service is likewise lacking in credibility as I contacted you several times to ask 'when' and finally after 2 days was told that the transfer was processed and I'd receive an email confirmation when funds were actually transferred into her account, I never received that email and my daughter received her money too late! Never again. It's WorldRemit for me. R.

    Xoom was amazing for first few transactions, but after that they started taking forever to transfer the funds. They promise to transfer money to India from minutes to 4 hour depends what bank I send to, but every time I make a transaction they take 3-5 business days. Honestly, I'm frustrated with Xoom. Already considering other options.

    I have been using Xoom as my primary transfer money service for years now. The hassle of going to a brick location of Western Union before I discover Xoom was something I was not looking for, long lines and the amount of time to expend just to complete an order was unreal sometimes. With Xoom everything is smooth once you set up your account and with multiple choices of locations for your recipients to pick up the money transfer make it a swift transaction.     I have used Xoom several times over the last two years and while I still use it, I use it less often. First, the transaction shouldn’t take days to complete in this digital age. Second, when there is an issue, Xoom customer service is located in the Philippines, which isn’t inherently negative but the connection at times makes it difficult to communicate. Even when you do communicate, there is nothing customer service can do to help or expedite your transaction. They essentially can convey little information and act as cheerleaders. And one other thing about Xoom customer service, apparently they will not get off the phone with you unless you give them permission to do so!! There is no point in calling them - very disappointed!!

    Why do Bank to bank international transfers when you can Xoom it in minutes? Xoom saved me bank fees and time when I got into a bind in another country and I was unable to do bank to bank transfer!     Xoom does instant transfer BUT only up to $2000-$3000. I tried sending more than that in one transaction and took about a week to transfer. So it’s fast only for small amounts.. It’s there but not 5* yet.

    Eight days to transfer money to Ukraine - too slow. Submitted the transfer July 8, pricing was very attractive (literally 7% better than Western Union), but even after money were withdrawn from my bank account, transfer was on hold till July 16. Called them - agent claimed they did not receive money from my account. I know from other contacts, if money left - it means the other party received them that day.

    Xoom is a dominant market company who has not any regard for customers. They employees has no idea of their own policies or where and how they do the money transfers. They cheap out the call centers, were in Spanish is excellent and courteous, in English? Is different. They do not give you a supervisor. They do not tell you the truth. They don't know their product. I decided call the main offices here in USA. That was 3 weeks ago, still waiting for a call from management and probably will never happens. Just tired of horrible service. They do this because they are dominant on the market, but because I have choices I already closed my account and now I'm using other company who do the same (sent money) and never again I deal with Xoom.

    This service is the worst that you can ever imagine. Stay away from this place to send money. I tried to send money and I was told that it will take 1 to 3 business days. So I told them to cancel, but they never canceled, instead, after 7 days they completed the transaction and say it that it was already to be pick up. I told them that I didn’t need it because I already sent the money with another agency, that only took 15 minutes. I had to borrow money from someone else to send the money and then I would pay the money to this person with my refund.

    So I claimed my money back and they said that is going to take longer, another 7 days. I called my bank and I informed them. The bank told me to call the local police if I don’t get my money back in the next few days. I hope that I will get my money within that time frame. My advice for whoever wants to send money, don’t do it through here. Use a different company so you can avoid all the frustration that this company left me.

    For years I used Xoom to transfer money from myself to myself abroad. I had to stop because it became unstable and unreliable. I used to be able to received money from my bank in the United States to my bank In Peru on the same day. All of a sudden, it starts taking 5 days to arrive making the service not worth it anymore.

    Making the situation worse, when attempting to contact the customer service number provided, I was put through an excruciating gauntlet of torture speaking to foreign agents that provide no more information than what can be read off the website. It was extremely general and generic information. Of course, none of the information provided could answer my question or resolve my problem. I can't even login to my account anymore as it says it sends a code that never arrives to my cell. When the money came from a different person, with a different account, no issues were experienced until one day they asked for the social security number which was entered and they limited the transfer to $89. They also asked for a birthdate and indicated that the birthdate was wrong.

    I don’t know how much longer Xoom will be around with all of these problems, As well I have no doubt that with these strings of problems and practically no functional customer service, they are losing tons of money. One additional aggravation is that I gave them 5 stars on a rating and immediately following that, the quality dropped to zero. So for those considering Xoom, it may be good temporarily. But if you are a frequent user, things will eventually go to hell. Does anybody know of a reliable, stable and reasonably priced USD to USD money transfer service that operates within 24 hours that exists?

    They are not what they advertise. The estimated time of fund transfer is all wrong. I ordered a transfer expecting it to be in 4 hours, as given on their website. Then after initiating the transfer, it gave me 3 business days (after calling them up) and now when I call them on the 4th day they say another 3 days. Imagine if your transferred fund is for some mortgage payment or some kind of direct deposit?? You are defaulting!! Writing this review to make people like me aware of such fund transfers wherein the service provider makes it look all attractive till the time you are not purchasing and once you do; welcome to the trap.

    This company makes it seem so easy to transfer funds. I sent money June 20th and it is now July 1st and still nothing transferred in. I called to see what was going on and the only response I got was that they needed the people I was sending Money to to give a bank statement. There is no way I would expect them to give a bank statement, nor would they. I sent a rather large amount of money for an upcoming trip and this is quite concerning that they just wipe their hands clean when the transaction says "complete". It is indeed NOT complete. I will never use this service again. I cannot believe PayPal handles their business this way.

    Horrible company. They held on to my money for 3 weeks and did nothing but cause more hassles after each phone call. Never got the transaction done even after we filled out paperwork 5 times to two different remitters. This place is a rip off. We are very unhappy with the level of customer service with this transaction. Our money was taken out June 13th. First I get a notice to fill out a form from Victoria then another request from JMMB.

    Both XOOM and JMMB kept telling me to call the other one to fix a mistake that one of them made by mistakenly labeling my transaction a JMMB account. I sent in all forms requested on 5 occasions and still nobody could complete the transaction. I even asked to speak to a supervisor XOOM who told me that we need to do ANOTHER FORM AGAIN at JMMB. Now I have to wait 5-10 days to get my money back. This is highly unprofessional and unethical. I lose access to much needed cash for 3 plus weeks.

    I am in the "process" of transferring $200 from my US account to a person in Dominican Republic, are pickup at Banco Popular in Dominican Republic. It has been almost a week now and the money is stuck at Banco Popular in the Dominican Republic. The weak point in Xoom is their banking "partners" in foreign countries. Banco Popular in Dominican Republic was listed as a Xoom partner on the Xoom website. I did a money transfer to this bank because I know of Banco Popular and assumed there would be no problems using this bank.

    Unfortunately, it looks like Banco Popular's computer systems have not been properly integrated with the Xoom network. The result is that my money is stuck at Banco Popular in Domincan Republic because of "technical difficulties" with Banco Popular's computer systems. I have asked Xoom customer service for information on when this "technical problem" problem will be resolved. They cannot provide me with any information on this. I have also asked Xoom customer service to cancel the transaction. They tell me they cannot do this either because the money has already been transferred to Banco Popular in Dominican Republic.

    The person who is supposed to receive the money in Dominican Republic has talked to people at Banco Popular. They say they have never heard of Xoom and that the transaction number for the Xoom transaction that she has is not valid. So now I am stuck. I have no idea when/if Banco Popular will actually fix their broken computer systems. I also am not able to cancel the transaction or get my money back. So be careful with Xoom. Make sure that the foreign "partner bank" actually DOES work with Xoom before sending any money.

    I tried a small amount of transfer to friends known for 20 years in India to ensure it went well. It well through easily. Great idea and way to work I thought. Did another large amount. Next day was phoned by them to verify details, which I cooperated fully and which I expected. Next I received an email saying my account was closed and transfer cancelled referring to user agreement. No explanation. I tried appealing and calling to no success. I don’t understand and they wouldn’t explain. RUN FROM THEM! DO NOT USE! PAYPAL SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

    I have used PayPal for years so had no qualms about trying their new service - Xoom Money Transfer. Where you are sending the money seem to have some bearing - number and types of pick up locations - but customer service when there is an issue is sorely lacking. Sent a transfer to Jamaica which is now 5 days ago and still not able to be picked up. Agents keep saying they will contact the vendor and update me. Not even a basic email to say "we are awaiting an answer". Recipient has gone to pick up multiple times - all unsuccessful - and each time having to pay a fare to get there...But of course that is not Xoom's concern. I am now told it will be ready tomorrow. I am not holding my breath. Cancelling means almost another week before I get my money back but that will be my next move. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with this service but happy to learn this before using it for an occasion that may have been urgent.
