    Worst company and even worse customer service. They canceled my transaction everytime I try to send my mom money. When I called to ask what the issue is all they said they were sorry for the inconvience but we can't help you or disclose the reason due to company policy. When asked what we can do from our side to help this transaction go through, they say, "You have been violated and can not use our service." How can you have violated a service you have not used. Very shady and screams SCAM!!!! No manager or supervisior came to the phone after multiple requests. The customer service person has a heavy accent and crying children in the background. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!

    I am extremely disappointed with Xoom, a PayPal service, due to their unresponsive and immature treatment of customers. I recently made a money transfer of $1250 USD to India, but the funds were deposited into the wrong account due to an error in the account number. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue, Xoom's customer service has been absolutely terrible. Each time I call, a new representative picks up, and I have to explain the issue repeatedly. Not only do they fail to provide adequate information, but they also seem indifferent to solving my problem. This level of service is unacceptable, especially from a company as large and reputed as PayPal or Xoom.

    What’s more concerning is that Xoom allows transactions to go through even when the account number and account name of the recipient do not match. This creates a significant vulnerability, as it enables the potential for sending money to incorrect or even fraudulent accounts. It’s alarming to think that such a serious flaw exists in a multimillion-dollar (or even billion-dollar) company’s system. This oversight could easily be exploited for illicit activities, such as transferring black money globally. In conclusion, Xoom should be held liable for losses caused by their faulty transaction processes. It's outrageous that a company of this stature has such critical shortcomings. I urge Xoom to address these issues immediately to protect their customers and uphold their reputation. Until then, I cannot recommend their services.

    I've used Xoom countless times to transfer money from my account in US to a known recipient in Brazil but I'm having issues now. I initiated a transfer of $5,827.30 to a recipient in Brazil on June-17. The transactions normally take 24-48 hours to complete, however I was informed by Xoom Compliance that I needed to provide proof of my income and proof of residency in order for them to complete my transaction. I provided all the documentation required immediately and they haven't completed the transaction yet. I've sent e-mails and called multiple times to follow-up but they tell me their compliance partner in Brazil is not responding. Compliance manager Kevin (He said he can not provide his last name due to security reasons) told me he doesn't have a timeline on when this will be resolved and there's nothing he can do but wait for the partner to respond. I've been waiting for 10 days

    This is the worst service I have ever used. I tried to send money to my father for his birthday, but they accused me of violating the rules and didn't give me a chance to appeal the decision or provide any evidence. Do not use Xoom if you don't want to waste your time and be disappointed. My rating is 0.

    Had to wait for almost 3 hours to speak with a manager. Neither the agents nor the supervisors had answers to why the transfer of funds was completed after 10 days. Managers refused to come on the call and I had to stay on hold for hours. If transferring money to loved ones is important, especially when it's urgent, suggest you find another service.

    Full of hassles and runarounds. Had to contact customer service after not receiving my wire, was redirected to the verification team, then to members at paypal, directed back to verification team, once more to the paypal team, an hour later and still nothing is resolved. Save yourself the headache, use a different service.

    XOOM is the worst! After stealing money from you by giving less money than the actual value of the currency you want to send money (i.e the Mexican peso trades at 16.99 per 1 dollar now, yet Xoom will give you 16.61 per dollar, that’s stealing your .38 cents per dollar!) in addition they will charge 1.79 dollars fee, even if they say they will not, in tiny dimmed letter then they will disclose that and will assume that it is part of the exchange rate but it is not! DO NOT USE XOOM, use another one.

    I sent myself money through Xoom based off of PayPal suggestions that it would be minutes to a few days. It has been over a week now since they took it out of one account and I still don't have it so instead of being able to use it where I needed it I don't have access to it at all. I can't find a number to call or a reason what is going on. Hopefully they return my money to me soon. I will never suggest or use this so called service again. I'm just hoping I can get my money back at some point from them.

    I don't like it. Exchange is not good as others. Paypal is cheaper. Other sending money companies give more countries money than Xoom. I not find any advantage sending money thru xoom. Western Union give you more money.

    I initiated a transaction of $2,000 from the USA to India using Xoom.com (a PayPal company) on April 1, 2024. Despite Xoom's confirmation that the money was deposited into the recipient's Bank account in India, the funds have not been credited. Concurrently, the amount was deducted from my USA account. Upon contacting Xoom customer service, I was informed of a technical issue affecting not only my transaction but also hundreds of others. Despite this acknowledgment, there has been a significant lack of communication from Xoom. As of April 10, the funds have neither been credited to the recipient's account in India nor returned to me.

    This has got to be the absolute worst application for transferring money I’ve ever seen and used. I set up a transfer that said it would take 35 mins to process and be available to the recipient. Coming up on 24 hours later and no deposit, I emailed them twice about 8 hours between emails. They responded the first time with a generic message that didn’t answer my question, and the second email was ignored completely. I decided to just cancel since it hadn’t moved beyond doing security checks on the recipient account. It’s been approximately 5 hours since cancel and still haven’t been refunded what I was attempting to transfer and can’t get any answer to where my money is and when I should truly expect my money to be refunded. I wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone that’s hoping for quick and easy transfers because Xoom is the epitome of just that.

    One of my family members was in urge need for some money. I decided to use Xoom as the provider for transfer. I used the Xoom app March 27th 2024. Today is April 1st 2024 and after calling and waiting 45 minutes I was told that for some reason is still in clearing. Not recommended if someone is in need of urgent cash.

    I used Xoom few times to send money to India. Two times before my transactions were doubled - sent the same amount twice. First time it doesn't indicate transaction was processed then you press another key it sends exact amount of money the second time. By the time you check your bank transactions you realize the 30 minutes have passed and there is no way Xoom can reverse the transaction. There is also no live customer service rep to speak to about issues. NEVER using this again. Western Union it is.... Ugh Ugh Ugh.

    Terrible customer service. They don't care if you are in a roaming call and put you on hold and don't even resolve the issue. I will never use them again. I had to call twice for the same transaction and I was never able to send the funds. First agent said that account was verified but next day I had to call again and funds were never sent.

    Don't use this service, they will hold your money for many days and ask for documents and documents...Only when you call to ask....And in the end, the money never arrives. Their business is to hold your money while the currency rates change so they can make more money in the exchange. Avoid many headaches, do not use them.

    Contacted them on 14/2/2024 regarding a blocked payment. They block any payment for a million of different nonsensical reason. Can be anything that they decide that is suspicious, also if you log in to Xoom 2 times in a day. Absolutely nonsensical procedures.

    I do use Xoom when my friends, family, or I am buying an item, and they do not have PayPal, there has been little issues here and there but never a big problem until today. I spoke several times to them, never straight answer, I spoke to Donaldo in San Francisco. Terrible customer service, I even requested to talk to a manager. To make story short they give you the runaround. Never comes with the real issue. They delayed one of my transfer (for my security) however do not expect to have real answer from them, even they froze my PayPal, problem solved in 5 minutes with PayPal customer service. They do not care about their customer, for me the only reason they survive it is that they are associated with PayPal. Avoid if possible.

    My wife used Xoom to send money to family in Brasil and found it to be "ok". I decided to also give Xoom a try. I went through their full validation process to increase my account from Level 1 to Level 3. Which required me to send my ID, Tax Records, and Bank Account information. 3 weeks later I went to send money and was asked to validate my account again. Xoom's webportal would not let me upload my documents through the secure site, and I tried from multiple computers and the app on my phone. I spoke with their "customer support" team to let them know the site would not allow the upload and was told it must be an issue on my side, and that I needed to send the documents via email. After sending the documents and speaking with the Customer Verification team 3 times, including a supervisor, my account still wasn't released and my transfer was cancelled. I was told additional documentation was needed.

    We are now 7 days into the process of trying to send money, and still no resolution. I would strongly advise that you avoid the headache, hassle and RISK of using Xoom and seek another option. I am very disappointed in the customer service and support knowing that this service is support through PayPal, which has been nothing but great.

    This company takes 3 full days to collect money from your U.S. based bank account. Then bides its time to post the cash to your foreign-based bank account. The Filipino call center advises you that "it takes 3 business days". Give me a break. All ACH and EFT transfers in the U.S. post at 3 AM EST. This is a West Coast based organization. Don't trust these crooks. They are out to screw you. The best choice is REMITLY based in the good old USA. Forget all others. I am not getting paid a commission to promote this foreign exchange service. It delivers.

    They promise transfer in minutes but then the transfer hits some "technical issue" and they say that it will resolve by itself in few hours. But days go by and then you have to call them and then they ask garbage questions before finally cancelling your transfer WITHOUT leaving any record in your account. If you ask them to cancel the transfer instead of waiting then they say that it's not possible to cancel leaving you hanging. XOOM is a crooked company. I took my business to Western Union where I did not run into any problems.

    I made a transfer on Dec 1, 2023, 12:54 PM. This was my first time using this service. I waited several days on Dec 5, 2023, 3:00 AM I got a email saying it was deposited in my bank account, I checked my account it was not. I spoke to my bank. They didn’t have any deposit, I reached out to both Xoom/Paypal. They want countless verification including a bank statement. I complied and still it’s nothing but endless circles. I still don’t have my money.

    I tried to send money internationally and they cancelled the transfers. On calling their 800 935 7154 number they asked me a lot of unrelated questions. How is the recipient related to me? Why am I sending her money? Is it her birthday? And so on. At the end of it they still did not allow the transaction to go through!

    I used Xoom for 3 years sending charity money to the Philippines, Vietnam, and Laos. All my recipients all said Xoom partners were rude. This week was final straw. The Xoom partner in Laos said my recipient that money was already picked up. Shortly afterwards, the Xoom partner ask for my recipient's signature and ID. My recipients ask why they needed the ID and signature if the money was already picked up. It is likely the Xoom partner was trying to keep the money for themselves. I contacted Xoom regarding the rudeness multiple times and recently contacted about the potential theft through Xoom's online email. I have yet to receive a response from Xoom regarding any of the complaints. I will be using MoneyGram from this point forward. Stay away from Xoom. They partner with CROOKS and refuse to address complaints!

    These people are awful. They are nosy. It’s none of their business why? to who? and why? I am sending money to my friends or relatives. They blocked my transfer for no reason. I am a federal employee. I have all my credit card set up. I have a permanent address. I’m a homeowner, etc. so why they offer a service that they can’t comply. I don’t like Paypal. I don’t trust them. Now is worse. Will never use them again.

    I had the same experience with many of the 1 star reviews. I used Xoom in Paypal for transferring money to other country and the transaction was canceled automatically by Xoom. The customer rep keeps asking for my bank statement even when my transaction is using Paypal Balance. Very fishy! I ended up using Western Union for my transfer.

    I made an initial transfer with Xoom, which went well; however, after trying a more considerable transfer of $2000, things went downhill quickly. The expected time for the money to make it was 4 hours. They also knew I would need to complete some additional verification that takes at least 24 hours, so they were being deceptive in my opinion. Why would you only know a customer needs additional verification after they decide to hit the send button.

    If you are trying to transfer money, it's easy for xoom to prevent you from having access to your funds for a week easily if anything goes wrong. They required me to send a bank statement from which the transaction was made. They wanted to see the "Processing" transaction, which is effectively on hold on their end, on my bank statement, which had not been generated yet, since bank statements were only generated at the end of the month. Any incomplete "In progress/Processing" transaction will not show up on a bank statement since it has not been posted.

    I asked them to cancel the transaction on their end. Since there is no way I can get a bank statement to show a "Processing" transaction. It's been five days, and they have not yet been able to refund the money. Of course, they say it depends on your bank. I suppose they know or should know when you use a debit card to make a transaction, they should just be able to return the money to the debit card if you canceled for no fault of yours, but that is not the case.

    Also, they should allow you to pass the verification before holding your money out in limbo. If my requested sending amount will trigger a verification why not have me complete it first and then send the money? I could have easily just wired the money and be done with it. But here we are five days after trying with xoom and I have no access to my money that was urgent for a medical situation. It is simple. Why not get the customer verified first instead of jailing their cash during the verification process? It's easy enough to do.

    I had a rather challenging experience with them. I've been a loyal PayPal user for years, and I recently used it on Xoom to initiate a transfer to my personal account. However, things took an unexpected turn. After making the transfer, I was asked to provide proof for verification purposes. I promptly submitted the required documents, only to receive an email stating that my verification had failed.

    The frustrating part came when I decided to reach out to their customer care to understand the reason behind the verification failure. To my dismay, the customer care representative was unable to provide me with any specific reason for the failure. Not only that, but I was also informed that I wouldn't be able to use Xoom for future transfer. This situation left me quite disappointed and bewildered. I've had a long-standing positive experience with PayPal, but this incident has left me questioning their customer support and the lack of transparency surrounding the verification process.

    They will block almost every international money transfer! You call them and go through the same oral verification process each time. This time it was even more frustrating. Have to upload bank statements and they wrote to me saying that my account is now fully verified and that I should not have such holds going forward. Well, NOT true! This time the website was wired - when I clicked on the upload document button, it said nothing is needed at this time. So I called their humans who are like robots and hard to understand. I think they were telling me that the issue is now with PayPal and I needed to call them and go through a verification process. I thought they are the same company! Anyway, it is very frustrating and annoying!!!

    Xoom is a company that now handles fund transfers from Paypal to banks or where ever needed. Recently I had funds transferred to Paypal with whom I have been a customer for years. Today I tried to transfer those funds directly to my bank account on file using the passwords I had established with Paypal. I even used the double verification having a code sent to my cell phone, and had Paypal verify the code. But when I tried to have the money transferred, I discovered that Xoom would handle the transfer and required still more information, even though that information was in Paypal's files. I filled out the information and completed the transfer. Or so I thought. Moments later Xoom cancelled the transfer with no explanation.

    I called the help center and the operator said they needed to verify the information. She checked on the status and came back to tell me everything was fine and I just needed to try the transfer again. This meant I would have to fill out the information again. I did so, and the site said the transfer was successful. But when I checked my bank account an hour later, nothing had been transferred. I called the helpline again and talked to a gentleman who told me that the transfer had been put on hold because they needed to verify my identity, something that Paypal had done when I joined years ago. He wanted me to send a photo of my driver's license on an unsecured e-mail, something I was uncomfortable doing. I had a friend whose identity had been stolen when he sent his photo ID that way.

    When I asked why Xoom needed a copy of my license when Paypal had it on file, he told me they were not a part of Paypal. I could look at Xoom's logo and see it claimed to be a Paypal company. So I asked for a supervisor, and the gentleman hung up on me. I called back and I was eventually connected with a supervisor named James who told me that I needed to call my back to find out why my identity needed to be verified. Again, I knew this wasn't true. They already had not only my driver's license but other photo ID's. He finally, after talking in circles, admitted that it was Xoom that had different policies on ID verification and had nothing to do with Paypal's policies or my bank's. When I asked if I could simply close my account and pick up the cash where I could present my ID, he simply told me they'd hold onto the money indefinitely until I sent them my driver's license. I, as yet, still have not gotten my money.

    If their service works fine, but when it doesn't, they suck and won't solve the problem. First they claim they can't confirm my identity, despite the fact that I have been using their parent company Paypal for over a decade. They refuse to tell me how to get my identity confirmed. They then sent a report claiming they sent the money. They refuse to correct the report. First email is ignore but I have a 4 week old case file. Second time their AI sends a computer canned response that doesn't address the problem and creates a second case file, claiming the problem is solved. It isn't. Third time get another 3rd case file number and no response. Won't help on the phone, won't respond to emails.

    Somewhere in the company the AI manager is getting a bonus for all the money he is saving the company by not hiring people, meanwhile, the manager in charge of getting good reviews is pulling his hair out at all the one star reviews because the AI is dumber than a first grader failing to solve problems and causing bad reviews.

    Please do not use this service. I just lost 11000 dollars. There is no security, a hacker got into this my account, created his contact and wire transferred money from my bank. I am without a job and this money was for my daughter's tuition. If XOOM is hearing this message please refund my money. I have not authorized this transfer. I have got scammed and my family is grieving this.

    I have been trying to send my money from my Paypal account to my Bank account and they keep demanding files, proof of source of income! Well why there was no question when the money was transferred to paypal? I have uploaded all the files and still waiting! Why a financial institution can not query bank information and verify! Terrible experience, will never ever use Paypal or Xoom! Just avoid this company and use others!

    Last year I sent money to Colombia, and they deducted it twice from my bank account; then, I made a claim on XOOM, and they told me they couldn't do anything anymore. This year 3 days ago, I sent $500 to my son, and they deducted it again 2 times. I called 10 minutes later when I saw 2 transactions in my email. A XOOM employee answered me, no problem, I have already passed the report. However, today, I looked. They took the money twice, it is a financial institution in which there cannot be these errors, so this is planned; it is a way of stealing, and it must be brought before public opinion. This morning I spoke to another person with the same problem; we think we need to make a YouTube video and invite everyone who has been through this to file a complaint online, and we will look into a joint lawsuit for fraud and breach of trust since taking money without consent is that.

    I initiated a transfer on May 2, 5:08 pm. I received an email saying the transaction got canceled on May 2, 11:30 pm. I initiated another transfer on May 3, 8:45 am, as my previous transfer got canceled. Xoom withdrew $4000 two times and made my account to NSF. I was also charged $35 as an overdraft fee. When I called customer service, they kept on telling me to contact the bank for a refund and were very rude. When I called the bank, they informed me it was a genuine mistake from Xoom, and Xoom had to refund $35. The customer service representatives keep on repeating the same information again and again. They are not even trying to understand the problem. Very frustrated.

    Well I’m a customer since 2007 and never had any issues before until now. My last 2 money transfers they put a stop payment for more than 3 days, my bank already the payment but they still stop making my payment. I have called customer service. They said they need to see my bank account. I don’t understand why they have to see my bank account and my account number. Crazy right? Please train your staff to speak better and help your customers in a better way.

    It's a fraud to use Xoom. Beware. I've attempted using them to avoid going into the bank to make a wire transfer. I made four attempts in a single day, each time subjecting myself to rigorous security checks and interrogation, with no success. They always cancel my transaction after the system says it's in process, and I have to call back to find out why. The security team informed me that they have additional questions to ask. One person came close to pressing me for details by asking me to identify the vessel on which my family landed in the 1400s.

    After I had gotten past these checks, they informed me that I was free to go. Two hours after my 5th attempt, I was turned down. Guys, please exercise caution. The customer care representatives that answer the phone do not have any real-world context and are essentially reading responses from a computer. Alternatives may be worth a shot, so if I were you I would look at them. I deleted the account. Terrible experience.

    I have used Xoom before May few times and never had issues until in May or so I send to larger amount of money. I got email from Xoom, it was delivered but the recipient never got it. This happened on 2 large amount transactions, the money just vanished! After several weeks of waiting, I had to provide bank statement to get the money back which is extremely annoying. Last week I again sent money internationally again, received email it was delivered and AGAIN it was never delivered. AGAIN I had to provide statement to get my own money back! For 8 months they haven't fixed their issues. I will never use this as artist service again! How does money just disappear and they can't even find it in their own system until I provide bank statement? Unreal!!!

    Did my first money transfer to an account in India. Portal says bank transfer will be done in minutes. 22nd Sept - Post completing the process and confirming, they send me an e-mail stating that there will be a delay due to banking transaction from my Banker in the US and that the money transfer will happen on 27th Sept. Called customer service and was told that they will send in minutes as soon as they receive the money from my Bank. 23rd Sept - Checked my Bank and the money has been sent. Called Xoom again only to be told the same thing. They still are sticking to the 27th Sept time frame despite having the money. Very bad experience. Will never use Xoom again and want to warn prospect users.

    First they claimed that the transfer was made but would only provide an internal confirmation number not an actual banking transaction code. Then they change the story and say the transaction was rejected and they will process a refund later. When I ask both PayPal and Xoom why of the transaction was rejected a refund was not processed automatically? Nobody has been able to answer me...they just blame each other. In the meantime my money is not in either of my accounts.

    I sent money through this company for many years, because it is fast in shipments a little more expensive than others but safe, now I have been having problems with all my transactions for several months now, they cancel the transactions without giving answers and they delay them lying to me that it is problems of the receiving bank, if that were the case I think, my money would have been withdrawn from my account, but it was not the case in any of them, customer service does not solve anything and they even offer to cancel the transaction if you do not want to wait for the I decide that they take. It's frustrating every time that happens to me, they have become like Western Union, irresponsible and liars.

    I've had my Xoom account for several years, and and I have a long history with sending money to the Philippines and to Columbia. Xoom cancel my transactions for this month And then banned me because they had an issue with one of my recipients.. Let me say that again. I did nothing wrong it's my money I sent to someone that they didn't like and they banned me. Many people will only tell you half of the story. I'm telling you the entire story. I've never done anything wrong, all my money is legitimate, and I'm helping friends whom I know personally have met in person in foreign countries. These are not large amounts of money and I have never claimed that there was any type of fraud. This is unacceptable on many different levels but it's their platform and they can do business with whom they like. I wouldn't recommend them.

    I had an issue with my recent transfer. By mistake I sent money to a wrong account (ICICI India). I immediately requested for the money reversal process. That's when it all started. Looks like Xoom is tied up PNB (Punjab National Bank) for all their transactions to India. When I requested for reversal they have initiated the process with them and They are saying PNB is requesting for update from ICICI bank. I have called nearly 20 times in last 80 days to get update on the transfer and I always get a default response from Xoom. They simply read what they see on the screen and give false promises such, "We will call PNB and provide you update next day," but I never received a communication from them. I fed up with the process and directly reached out Indian bank account ICICI to inquiry about this. They told me that they did the reversal to PNB on August 5th. Also sent an email confirmation to them.

    When I tell the same thing to Xoom they said, "We do not have any update from PNB." Seems like they are trying to scam and take the money back. One of customer representatives told me these requests will take 90 days. After 90 days if PNB doesn’t respond they won’t give my money back. Which is ridiculous. I am not going to leave till I receive my amount back. On top of everything they have the worst customer support team. They should really spend money on improving their customer service.     I have had a PayPal acct for years. Tried to send funds through Xoom and because I asked why they need to know my relationship of recipient and reason for sending money they permanently cancelled my acct stating only that my acct could not be verified. I did not refuse information. I simply asked why they needed to know those two things when I have provided all documentation of who I am. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!

    I am traveling in Europe. I answered all their questions and sent the money to my friend 2 days prior to leaving. Everything seemed fine. After I get to Europe, I got an email to call them. I spend $30 to get a new sim card with phone time and called them. I sat, went through extensive teleprompts and sat on hold an extended period. I answered all the questions and it seemed it would be done. Then I got an email asking for a copy of my driver's license. I paid $100 for a VPN to send it securely and I sent it. Then wait another day...now they want my bank statement. This of course is none of their business and I started to wonder if they are the scammers. A week after initiating the transaction I have spent $130 and received nothing. They are not running a business but are running an inconvenience system. I worked in banking for 30 years and know what is necessary and reasonable. Don't use this service.

    I have been using PayPal for many years, in the the past few weeks they have stopped numerous transactions and requiring extremely detailed information and they still refused to send the money I need to send. I am sending money to a family member for my niece for her college tuition and also for another family member that has died and I am trying to help with funeral expenses.

    Paypal has now terminated my account on the grounds and I quote: "It is a violation of Xoom’s User Agreement to use the service for any of the following activities, including but not limited to: sexually-oriented materials or services; gambling activities; or commercial transactions that involve tobacco, firearms, prescription drugs, or other controlled substances. What part of a funeral and college tuition is involved in any of that? Xoom is making accusations and alleging I am committing these acts, when in fact the allegations are completely false. I know for a fact I am not alone in their slander campaign against honest law abiding people. I am only trying to help out family members. I am currently seeking legal advice and if you have been affected by the Xoom slander campaign you should seek legal advice as well to clear your name.

    Xoom will not transfer money to a business account in Mexico and they cannot transfer to Banco Azteca. Their user interface and customer service does not provide clear information or implement restrictions introduced by the receiving countries, resulting in delayed or cancelled transactions. I’ve used Xoom for years without problem to transfer from the US to a Mexican bank (BBVA Bancomer) but since mid 2021 they have been highly unreliable. Xoom blames it on their “partner” which restricts amounts transferred, require extra information such as bank statements, introduce long delays in the transfer process and even cancel transfers because transfers exceed limits set by these “partners”. These apparent limits are much lower than the published Xoom limits but there is no documentation on what these limits are.

    Xoom customer service provided information on the limits in response to my email query. Something like US$600 per transaction and US$1,000 per month though I successfully transferred $5,000 in a single transaction. Apparently these limits were not built into their web operations. Earlier transactions triggered an investigation of money laundering which required exactly the same documentation that Xoom’s “partner” had required me to send them. My most recent transaction was cancelled without explanation. When I enquired why, I was told because I didn’t send my supporting documentation quickly enough. I sent it the same day that I received the email request.

    As with most of my transactions requiring additional documentation, I was sent an email on the day I initiated the transaction saying that their “partner” had detected an issue which may result in a “short” delay. It then took a week for the follow-up email asking for more documentation. When I pointed out in the latest transaction that I had responded immediately to the request for more information xoom changed the reason for the cancellation to “the recipient was unable to receive funds”. The format of these customer service email responses is always close to identical with only the reason being different. It suggests that a computer rather than a human being is responding. None of these problems have arisen with wire transfers arranged through my US bank or with another online transfer service I have recently started to use in place of Xoom.

    I sent two sets of money transfers for cash pickup to Sierra Leone West Africa. I received emails that both transactions were ready for pickup. The first transaction which was for $50 was made 5 days ago. When the recipient went to pick up the money today he was informed that the money was not ready even though my Xoom status is showing the money available for pickup.

    I called Xoom and they informed me that it was ready; after insisting that they investigate the agent then said that there is a hold in the transaction because of activities at their partner bank, and that the bank was not open until 8:00 a.m. California time. Later in the day this issue became compliance review; keep in mind that I am discovering this information while my recipient is at the location to pick up the money! The same thing happened with the other transaction - approximately $2,000. I struggle to understand how Xoom can send email that the funds are available for pickup while compliance investigations are ongoing, resulting in and causing humiliation, aggravation and lost time for the recipients and me. Here 12 hours later both transfer are still showing available for pickup then though they are not.

    I found Xoom when I was trying to transfer money to Kenya to a friend there who was having some difficulties. The first transfer was flawless. The second was cancelled, I called customer service and was asked a number of questions about how I knew the friend, I explained I grew up in Kenya, and had known the individual for years. They approved me for another transaction, except when I sent it, they cancelled it. I called again went through the same questions, was cleared to transfer, except they cancelled it again, and again and again, with the same conversation each time. Then finally one went through....or I thought it did. It was to take several business days to arrive.

    I got no notice from Xoom, until the day the transfer was to be received, and then they told me they were refunding the transfer, and it too had been cancelled. I am back to old standby's like Western Union and Worldremit (I have no affiliation with either). I have no idea how anyone is using Xoom, unless Xoom is simply unable to operate confidently in Sub-Saharan Africa, and can actually be effective elsewhere in the world.

    Hi guys, I just wanted to share my horrible experience with Xoom. I have recently transferred $2500 from my account to Indian bank account using Xoom on 4th April. The amount was debited from my original bank account and on xoom it showed transaction was successful but when I checked my Indian account money never got deposited till date. I have been chasing xoom to know what is going on, I shared the actual bank account screenshots of as a proof where there was no deposit. I have speaking to 10's of floor manager on xoom but they are just going round and round. They are trying to prove me wrong by saying money has been deposited onto my account but actual bank account statement do not lie.

    I also got to know from Xoom uses a partner bank to get money transferred to India and you will be surprised which bank is their partner. It's PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK. One of the most CORRUPT, FRAUD, USELESS government banks of India. I have made a complaint against Xoom for manipulating my money. I will fight to get my money back at cost from Xoom. Guys I'm serious now. If you do not want your money to get stolen by Xoom or Punjab National Bank…DO NOT USE XOOM ever, they are FRAUD.

    This is a front for a money management app. They are listed as a money transfer app but what they are trying to do is to manage your finances and get you to upload your personal financial documents! After you give them all your financial info they will decide what you can and cannot transfer. Would not recommend this app. And do not send them your personal finical info. You should not be sending that info to anyone. This is not really a transfer app. There are other apps that will do it and not try to tell you what to do with your money and not ask for you financial info. Not recommend!!

    I have been using the services of Xoom from the beginning of 2020 onwards to send money to my wife in India. Majority of times, money was successfully deposited into the local bank account in India. A few times, the transactions were cancelled because the 3rd party bank which Xoom was using could not deposit the money into the local bank used by my wife, for unknown reasons, and that money was successfully returned back to my account. On Dec 4th, 2021, I had sent more than 10K to my wife, and 4 days later on Dec 8th the transaction status on Xoom and also the message sent to my personal email said that money was successfully deposited at the local bank into my wife’s account. Again 4 days later, on Dec 12th when my wife happily walked into the local bank to withdraw money from her account, she noticed that money which I had sent had NOT been deposited by Xoom.

    When my wife informed me, I contacted Xoom, and the representative looked at the transactions and said that money had been successfully deposited into my wife’s account in India. After making many calls to both the local bank in India and to Xoom, the representative at Xoom requested for a bank statement from the local bank in India to prove that money had not been deposited into my wife’s account. When I submitted my wife’s bank statement to Xoom, the representatives of Xoom realized that I was in fact telling them the truth. Xoom then contacted the third-party bank (Punjab National Bank) which they were using and successfully refunded the entire amount back to me on Dec 17th, 2021.

    My innocent family members, local bank staff in India where my wife has her bank account, and I went through a lot of tension and sleepless nights during these moments because it was the God-given hard-earned money which my family needed for support. I decided NOT to use Xoom anymore in my life to transfer money to India but instead I decided to use wire transfer transactions through a well-recognized bank because it is safe and secure even though it comes with a lower foreign exchange rate.

    I would caution trying to use Xoom based on my experience. My bank account is verified with Paypal. I entered a money transfer for the purpose of paying a deposit on an apartment I am renting in the UK. All the information was correct. I then received an email from Xoom asking me to provide my most recent bank statement and more details on the purpose of the transfer. I provided all of this right away. The next email I received was from Xoom saying the transaction had been canceled.

    On the phone, the Xoom rep and supervisor would only tell me that they were unable to verify my account (a verified account with Paypal and after I had sent a bank statement) but could not tell me why. It was a waste of time, and I will not try Xoom again. Follow-up: Immediately after posting this review I tried the same transaction using Wise.com and it went through.

    In September of 2020 in the middle of the Pandemic someone hacked my PayPal account from Indonesia and went into my bank account and did two separate money transactions. Luckily my banking institution noted this as a fraudulent transaction. However, this was very disconcerting to me and I immediately closed my PayPal account. However, the harassment from XOOM did not stop. They insisted that they wanted their money after my bank noted this as fraudulent. Even though they sent me an email that stated transaction was cancelled the emails continued. Xoom continued to push the bank to give them money from my account well into October of 2020.

    On October 10th, 2020 they stated they were escalating this transaction through the Customer Verification Department. On 10/15/2020 I am still getting statement transactions trying to get their money. On 10/21/2020 they are still sending emails regarding PayPal so called binding arbitration. Supposedly this company was started by PayPal and I cannot believe that they allow this type of harassment to continue. On 10/22/2020 after I posted a review on BBB and Consumer Affairs XOOM sent a letter to me through the BBB. The gist of the message was that they were very sorry that my account was hacked and that my personal and financial information was compromised. They also stated that they were going to make sure that the account could not be used and closed as well as any collection activities would cease. However, this is not the case in the hear and now as I continue to get statements.

    A year later September 2020 and I continue to get statements from XOOM even though they recognized they made a mistake and sent a letter of apology which stated they would close this fraudulent account. I just lodged another complaint with this company and this is what they said, "Thank you for reaching out to us about this concern. We're sorry to hear that. We’ve escalated your case to our Customer Verification Department so a specialist can assist you. You may also contact them directly at cv-requests@xoom.com." This message was sent on 8/18/2021. It is September 20, 2021 and I am still receiving statements from XOOM and no one has reached out to me. I am tired and frustrated with this whole process. I think everyone need to be aware of this problem.

    On 6th August I ordered a cash pickup from my usual bank. I received a text message saying it was ready for pickup, went 3 times, teller said the funds were not available. I checked my bank account and the amount had been deducted 3 times. After several calls to Xoom, I received 2 refunds. More phone calls, promises of a final refund, but nothing came. Finally, I spoke to a very rude supervisor, who said the refund had been made, told me to contact my bank with a huge number of digits for a reference. My bank said they never hold funds. So, 37 days after the incident I haven’t received a penny, have spent several hours and pounds on phone calls, have been treated unsympathetically and rudely and Xoom still have almost £500 of my money. I am shocked, appalled and upset by their handling of my case. Xoom is fine until something goes wrong, even if it’s their error.

Within 2 hours, I received the message from Xoom that the transaction is complete. But, recipient never received the money. I sent the bank statement of the recipient to Xoom.     Transferred money through Xoom. They posted an update that transaction is successful. The recipient of the transaction notified me that money never got deposited in his bank. Then the nightmare started of calling Xoom customer service (minimum 30mins wait) several times trying to explain them that the recipient never received the money and they kept on telling me that they received it. Had to send them the recipient's bank statement to convince them. Surprised to see how they track their transactions and how can they provide false information to the customer. I think this is a fraud on their part.

    After many years of service transferring funds to relatives. Xoom had now moved to an authoritarian posture. Demanding ID’s of recipients. Which we sent along with explanations of purpose of the transactions. We have a house that is maintained by our Daughter and lived in when we go there along with the rest of the family. Along with the monthly budget there’s a litany of unforeseen expenses. Especially now since Covid has killed plenty of jobs. Xoom closed our account and only says due to sending to a recipient that “may” have violated the user agreement! No other reason than that. They go on to say they will be unable to provide any other information and further correspondence will not be answered. This behavior is suspicious at the least. Possibly a blessing in disguise, I would suggest moving to another remittance provider. This behavior has all the signals of Xoom preparing for a “change”. Good luck.

    This is only my experience. Xoom was a decent money transfer service. I have used the service for about 6 months. It started being a 7 to 12 minutes transfer service then about 2 months ago it became a 24 hour service, I was not happy with the delay but I put up with it for about 4 to 5 transfers with 24 hour delay. Now it’s taking over 3 days and the transfer is not complete and every day I called customer service their answer is the Mobile Wallet parter company have digital issues. In plain English that is not my ** problem. I told them today to complete my transfer in 2 hours or return my funds immediately and don’t bother marketing any products to me thru Xoom or PayPal.

    I received funds from my brother through PayPal and wanted to transfer the funds into my personal checking account with Rbc, I agreed to all the terms and fees and made the transfer only to get an email stating that the transfer was cancelled and to contact Xoom customer service. 5 days on I contacted customer service only to be told to verify my account which I did. Well now about the transfer into my bank account they now require my most recent statement of account, valid government id and a utility bill. I said I don’t feel comfortable with sending my statement of account as a void cheque should suffice but no they want a statement of account or the funds will be withheld. I requested to speak to a supervisor only to be put on hold for 3 minutes and yet no supervisor.

    I was either going to send them all that they requested with them advising that after all is sent it will take 3-5 days for them to review it before removing the hold on my Xoom account to enable me to make money transfer. Long story short I returned the money to my brother via PayPal as I will never ever be bullied into giving Xoom my statement of account and their threat of holding onto the funds till I meet their requirements. No wonder they have numerous 1 star reviews. A company like yours Xoom should never be in the business of money transfer. Your customer service representatives are also rude, I had to teach the fella not to cut me off when am speaking as I obliged him that courtesy when he speaks. Overall a horrible experience. Hence YOU GET HIT WITH CASH ADVANCE FEES AND DAILY INTEREST FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY. In that case, it is better to send money through Western Union or a similar service since they have changed their ways of processing the credit card.     I use Xoom to transfer money to my family in Vietnam for long time. The Xoom fee is $ 2.99 for bank account and $14 for credit card fee for sending $ 1200. In December 2020, I transferred $ 1200 by credit card and the credit card fee was charged by Xoom $ 14 then Xoom charge money from my credit card (no cash advances). In February and March 2021, I sending $ 400 and $ 1200 to my family and the Xoom got $ 7 and $ 14 credit card fees but Xoom got cash advances from my credit card so the Fidelity company charged cash advances fee and interest for me.     I understand that they want me to send in my bank statement. I get it, I really do. What I don't get is why the want to see all of the pages and if I send in all the pages why do they get upset if I redacted my transactions? I blacked out the transactions but I left the dates and amounts of each transaction. I cannot understand how that is relevant to their verification process. If their concern is keeping the customer safe then why are we sending our identification cards and bank statements to the PHILIPPINES? I have been waiting for a week and they still haven't replied to my email so as I'm writing this I'm on hold waiting for a supervisor at Xoom. I'm sure this is a big waste of time but I'll keep you updated.

    I started using Xoom about 5 years ago and do about 3 transfers (bank to bank) a month since I live part of the time in Colombia. I usually would get my money to my bank in Colombia within 2 or 3 hours. Yesterday (Feb 24) for the first time when I transferred 200 dollars the system said that there was an error and transfer did not go thru. I waited a couple of hours and was going to send another transfer but checked my email and the transfer had gone thru. After 4 or 5 hours I still did not get my money into Colombia. I called them and now they said it would take no later than Mar 1. I checked my bank account in USA this morning and the money had been withdrawn but still the money was not in Colombian bank account. I am very disappointed since I need my money now. Anyone recommend another "transfer company".

    5 days ago I logged into PayPal to move the money from that account to my checking. My request was rerouted to Xoom. Xoom took $500.00 FROM my checking account, instead of depositing my PayPal funds into my checking account. Over 3 hours after I found out & several bad experiences with Xoom customer service I had a cancellation logged for THEIR mistake,..and told it will take 4-5 more days to move my own money back to my checking account, then another 4-5 to move the monies from PayPal to my checking account & advised to report this to my bank. I did,..My bank classified this as fraud & now it is 45 days before they finish their investigation,..which means they gave Xoom 45 days longer to keep my money.

    I used Xoom to deposit money into my my sister's and my bank account. The money was never deposited. I don't think they even have sent the money let alone be deposited. They don't reply to my emails or pick up my calls. So clearly my money was stolen and there is nothing I can but to write this review to alert others.

    I've tried to get my money from PayPal using Xoom, Friday. Now (Monday evening) my money still on hold, because I needed to upload ID, and now they send a notification that I need to upload some address verification... but I can't as the website always says when I try to upload a bank statement (both in jpg, or pdf format) "unexpected error, try again", and same again and again... Xoom android app gives me different error, but the result is same.

    I've been waiting for 15 minutes for customer service to connect to a human, and the Indian woman, through the very low quality line, with her Indian English accent said that they encounter problem, which will be fixed in 1 hour... That was 3 hours ago, still getting the same errors... So Xoom is awfully slow, lots of downtimes.

    Terrible company and service. They would not process my international money transfer. I had to call them to verify the transaction and they denied me because they couldn't verify my identity. They wouldn't explain in more detail. Don't use Xoom. Use another money transfer service.

    We used Xoom to transfer from our Wells Fargo account to an Australian Account at Bank of Queensland. We did this monthly for the last 5 months always the same account details and similar amounts of 1000 to 1500 USD. The first two times Xoom did a direct transfer and it took about 2-3 days....a initial intrusive phone call but overall an ok service. Then the last two transfers they changed their transfer partner for BOQ and it was transferred via CITIBANK EUROPE - world pay. Those transactions were super fast 6 and about 24 hours. Then this week Xoom sent their standard emails to say the money was sent, then received then transferred into the Aussie account. But NO it wasn't. 4 phone calls to Xoom Paypal and demands to speak to supervisors gave us two different stories.

    First was that the transfer partner could not identify the account and something must have changed... nothing had changed and phone calls to BOQ were made to verify that. Then we were told the transaction was cancelled. spoke with a supervisor who wanted a screenshot of the bank account details so she could verify the money was not deposited. Call #2 to verify the bank account details had been received with comments that none of this was their fault it was all their transfer partners fault. During conversation another sms received to state that the money was successfully transferred.... checked and no it wasn't!!! Then at call # 3... the transaction was not cancelled and had gone ahead.

    We received emails and sms to confirm the money transfer had definitely taken place. Call BOQ as the money was not in the account and there were no pending transactions.... so call # 4 resulted in us being told that yes initially the transfer was cancelled, but then transferred, the case was closed and no longer the responsibility of Xoom paypal. So our rather irate conversation with yet another supervisor with lots of discussion about their fraudulent representation that money was deposited.

    Further discussion identifying that their transfer partner was Envoy in Australia and their refusal to identify the company's phone number or ABN (Australian Business Number) to us due to "confidentiality issues" and our ensuing threat of legal action resulted in an approximately 12 hour time frame for the return of our money into our account in the USA. This was all very stressful and Xoom initially just wanted to wipe their hands off it. Not good and a big flag not to use them again.

    Short version: if you really don't care when the money gets there, use Xoom. If it's urgent or being set for a critical need, use a different, more reliable service. I sent money needed for a family emergency through Xoom. They told me if I sent more than 10,000 it might cause additional reviews and thus delays, so I sent exactly 10,000. Guess what? It caused me delays. The money was taken from US account on the 23rd of December and only deposited into my Indian account on the 29th. This happened after multiple calls to customer care, escalation emails to their customer service dept and finally, creating a case through the BBB. Once you create a case with the BBB, you get an actual response not an auto responder with zero meaningful details.

    Executive office at Paypal.com is email this response comes from. They are not any more empathetic than an auto responder, unfortunately. They just pick and choose details that supports their conclusion, which always is going to be, we take no responsibility. We did as we stated in our user agreement. I'm still talking to them. I'm being told the problem is with my expectations and not really with their service. It's too much to expect Xoom to keep their promises.

    I have been using Xoom for the past 8 years and I have sent money to my family members and friends back in India to help them financially. All of a sudden they started canceling my transactions randomly (not for everyone). When I called they say that these are business accounts where I am sending money. I know that my Dad or my uncle never had a business and they are 80+ years old. I am super frustrated and can't believe that this is how bad their service has become!

    Made a transaction from my US bank account to my own Indian NRE account. They have send an email that they have to do verification. I contacted them and asked for to do verification. They requested me to share my bank statement & photo ID. I did right away. They have send me email that the transaction is canceled for security reasons and haven't mentioned what are the reasons. To find out the reasons I called them back, it seems they kept my two phones on "no answer" call list. Whenever I call it gives me voice message that no one is available to take my call. What a waste of time.

    Even if it is higher transaction rate, if you are in emergency to send the money, don't trust these guys!! You will end up regretting! Seems like they cancel your transaction, if the transaction rate doesn't work out for them and they use the keywords "security concerns." Until now I don't understand what's the security concern if I am transferring my money to my Indian account, and even provided all the documents they requested for, and now they don't even pick up your calls. I am hoping the Xoom service will provide explanation on what security concerns they have.

    Suppose you go to Xoom using your PayPal account (the one you have for more than 10 years without a single dispute or violation), you register your credit card, which is in fact the same one you already set for your PayPal account (that card has double verification procedure based on 3D security set by your bank), and after completing all those identification gathering procedures (including your phone number registered in your bank account) Xoom cancels your transaction requests (two transactions of 6 EUR each - in Xoom's terminology that is perhaps an amount enough to overthrown a government).

    After the cancellation of the requests they ask you to call them for verification (remember - you already provided a pile of identification information through the account registration process)! Now suppose you are a customer located somewhere in Eastern Europe. You have to call them overseas and spend a large amount of money for another identification, which is required for sending 12 EUR. No possibility to have an e-mail conversation - once you try you get answer to give them a call. This is nothing but a bullying. So, avoid Xoom. They do not deserve you as a customer!

    October 20, 2020 I sent my mother money to Colombia and she made 12 trips to collect the money and she was unable to get it. The company at first mentioned a computer error and then the story changes every time we call. Almost two months now and they never refunded the money.     Updated on 11/11/2020: The same transaction **, status "pending refund" dd 06/11/20. Today, 11/11/20 was my 4th call to Xoom with the same question - when I will get my money back. The answer was brilliant - prove that we have to refund you. We don't see any outstanding transactions, nothing to refund. I will send them letter copying Ombudsman. Fed up with this rubbish service.

    Original Review: The transfer took 4 days and I had to submit all possible documents to transfer this money - bank statements, passport, payslips. They didn't request DNA test, but were close to this. I also wasted about 40 min of my life talking to them asking to grant me permission (!!!!) to transfer money I legally earned and paid taxed for. After 4 days of uncertainty, they finally completed the transfer and Mam went to the bank to collect it. And in the bank, she discovered that it's NO MONEY! Because Xoom canceled the transaction WITHOUT informing us!! So, good advice - DO NOT USE XOOM!

    After using Xoom for many years, with a bank verified account, xoom want to verify again same bank account, xoom take the money from your account in minutes (meaning it's verified) but deposit the money in your recipient in 3 days (they keep your money for 3 days). Skip to the next day when I go to try to transfer $29 and they kept telling me my account needed verified. Well if that was an issue they should have verified it when I do transferred the $700.     I did not even know who this company was till I saw a transaction for $354.99 and 103.99 USD appear as debits in my bank account. I thought the emails I received earlier that morning were spam so I sent the messages to spam. Later I learned that Xoom is a PayPal company that sends transactions to foreign countries. What happened is in the middle of the night someone from Indonesia hacked my PayPal account and took all my personal information and set up a Xoom account and deducted money to send to someone I never heard of in Indonesia. Now 17 days later and I am still receiving messages from them about these fraudulent transactions that were already blocked by my bank.

    I have called them four times been to their website made complaints and I think it is taken care of then then they tell me it is in collections. Beware of this company and PayPal. PayPal by the way takes no responsibility for this and has not addressed it at all. Thank God for the bank stopping the payments. I am at frustrated and overwhelmed with this matter because no one has done anything to resolve this fraud except the bank.

    Not worth your time or money. After I uploaded my driver's license ad bank statement I received an email the next day stating I cannot use the Xoom service. When I called customer service I was told to look for an alternative service. Furthermore, I've held a PayPal account for over ten years and never had any problem with it. I'm frustrated I spent so much time trying to transfer money with Xoom only to be denied service. I recognize fraud is a major problem in this industry but the barriers Xoom has imposed on the consumer coupled with poor customer service and onerous verification steps I cannot recommend this service to anyone.

    I recently opened an account and went through the verification process. I made some transfers using different options. They delayed transfers and I had to call them. They had me send copies of my drivers licence twice and a bank statement. They even called me at home. Then they told me everything was verified but then canceled my account saying that some information could not be verified. When asked they said they could not tell me what information because it would compromise their process. This company wants to make financial decisions for you.

    I work regularly with clients in the USA and other American countries and also from countries across the globe. I charge them a fee for the services which we render to them here in India. We generally ask them to pay into our Savings/Checking bank account directly. While international transfers used to take 3-5 business days which was really an irritant in these e-times when everything is supposed to happen at a moments notice, this was one thing which used to take Sooo long.     I have been long time Xoom user. Recently I experienced terrible service during a large transfer from Xoom, they deducted from My US Bank and transaction status in xoom even went to final update. The day or so the $ value fell compared to INR substantially and my transaction was cancelled quoting partner problem. All they can say is it's a partner problem and can't even reprovision it at the rate. Now I have to perform a different transaction with lesser transfer rate and also my money stays with them for 5 days to be refunded. This is such a ridiculous service, I am moving my business to other service.

    I've tried since 7/26/2020 (it's 8/8/2020) to get an account setup and money transferred from the US to Spain. Have scanned/emailed countless confirmation documents (license, passport, bank statements, 1040 Federal, etc.) to confirm my identify. The Xoom Compliance Team keeps requesting the SAME or more documents - what other documents are there besides a drivers license and a passport ??? to confirm both citizenship and identity. I've had NO issues setting up a Transferwise account and sending money overseas. Will NOT recommend Xoom to any family member, or friend.

    Very unprofessional company. I waited over 1 week for a simple transfer of money to Denmark, and then I was told that it was cancelled (due to a technical issue). And I was told it would take another 3-4 days for me to get the money back. I've never heard of a bank with a technical issue lasting more than a few hours - otherwise they would go out of business. I also waited an hour to get through on the phone to them. I asked them to simply delay the transfer until the technical issue was resolved, since that would surely be faster than waiting for my money to be transferred and then try again. For a company having transfers as their core business, they are completely unprofessional. Useless for international transfers.

    After waiting three weeks for my transfer to show up in the receiver's account, I started doing my own investigation. This was after several calls to Xoom customer support and having to speak to a supervisor. Xoom will send an email as it did for me indicating the bank has received the funds. Actually the email only states that the third party money transfer company is the one who actually received it. It is then up to the third party company, in this case ZeePay to send to bank.

    Xoom support continued to tell me they would call and email their partner (ZeePay). Each time I called Xoom support they would tell me that they could not reach their partner. After three days of this, and being told Xoom could not reach ZeePay, I called ZeePay customer support Immediately. I was able to reach support, give them the tracking number and receive an update within an hour. Also the receiver was contacted by ZeePay as well telling him the transaction had been cancelled and returned to Xoom.

    So I called Xoom back, to which they told me they were still waiting to hear from ZeePay. I told them what they told the receiver and magically they also knew the transaction had been cancelled. Being the cheapest is not always the best. I will not use Xoom again. WU has the same rates. The problem was my bank not allowing the transfer. WU has the full control of money from start to finish. They were not at all helpful with the the problem and resolving the issue.

It's fast with very low service fee and hassle free. The first page gives you all information about the conversion rate and how much the receiver will get.     I made several small transfers over a 5 month period and the service was great and the money was transferred in one day. 17 days ago, I requested a transfer of a larger amount. After 17 days the money has not been transferred to my recipient. I am concerned that I will lose my money. 6 days after the request and after the money was taken out of my account, I was asked for copies of my bank statement, where the money in my bank account was derived and other personal questions. I provided the information. 10 days after the transaction, I called Xoom and answered personal questions regarding bank account transactions.

    On day 14 I checked with the receiving bank in Brazil and they have no record of the transaction. I talk with a Xoom rep and she tells me that she will check and she says that Xoom’s partner in Brazil is delaying the transfer. On the 15th day, I called Xoom and the rep says that my bank statement is not clear and they want another statement. I send another bank statement. (Why did they not tell me that the bank statement that I submitted 9 days earlier was not clear). When questioned, the rep tells me that I should hear something in 24-48 hours. It has been almost 48 hours and I have heard nothing. There should have been no question regarding my transaction. It has now been 17 days since my money was transferred. I am very concerned that I will lose my money.

    I initiated a money transfer recently for a larger amount for an urgent need. After keeping the money for 4 days, they have cancelled it saying that it has been cancelled due to partner service's limit. I called after my transfer to your customer service to confirm this and they confirmed that that transfer will take 2-3 business days. After that it got cancelled and refund will take another 3-4 business days. I had to send the money urgently and got caught with their pathetic service. Ignore them completely..

    Just thought I would share my experience with Xoom, if this may be of benefit to someone else. One of the problems with Xoom is that it gives you a misleading 4 step set of instructions on sending money to Jamaica upon first accessing the website and selecting the recipient country. In my case I was using the bank deposit method and it says on the site that it will arrive typically in 3 business days and the info implies that once you send the funds the recipient's bank will automatically be credited. Not true. When you send the funds it is transferred to Xoom's local partner institution (in my case JMMB). The partner is supposed to contact the recipient for further instructions on how to receive the funds, in my case they did not. The recipient is required to submit two proofs of ID along with a Deposit Authorisation form to JMMB for them to release the funds to the recipient's bank. You are not told this when setting up the transfer.

    I only found out upon making enquiries with Xoom after waiting 10 days and the funds had not been credited. Xoom did respond to my queries quickly but the partner organisation did not fulfill their end by contacting the recipient in a timely way. Xoom needs to make the info on the process much clearer from the outset rather than hidden in their Help pages. What confused me too was that the transaction update message from Xoom said that the funds were being processed by the recipient's bank when in fact the partner institution still had it in their possession.

    Covid 19 forced us to find a better way to send money to my older relatives in Germany. Despite the fact that Xoom has the highest rates, I was already setup with Paypal, it was easy enough to link it with Xoom, so we tried it. However, they declined the request. They dictated that I must reply to some random looking email asking for my driver's license and a full PDF copy of my credit card statement. Imagine that... I wonder if they would have any advice regarding my purchase choices over the last month! Wow. No explanation mind you. They didn't even answer their phones. Just please tell us everything you purchased over the last 30 days for our files (along with a copy of your Drivers license for the Internets). Incredible. No, I do not recommend this service.

    We have used Xoom to send money to friends in the Philippines for almost a year and had good experiences with them. Suddenly on June 2, I got an email saying that my xoom account was being closed and the money I had just tried to send would not be delivered. No reason or no warning was given. Because of Covid, they are not taking phone calls, and in the six days since, I have not received a reply. We tried to set up another account with my husband's name and a different bank account, but that was also refused. Our bank account balances have always been good, and we have not changed our contact info. We did receive one phone call about a disbursement, but no information at all from their customer service about the account closure. We are frustrated and we are switching to another company.

    I was using Xoom to send money to friends in India and Nepal with no problems for a few months. Because of the coronavirus, they were in desperate need. Then one day Xoom decided to cancel every transaction I was making. Their reason? They do not allow transactions to commercial businesses. The problem? I was sending to private individual bank accounts, not businesses nor for commercial services. I went back and forth with many emails but no resolution. They provided no proof. Their call center is closed due to the pandemic. They are clearly not interested in keeping customers so I will not use them ever again.

I asked to cancel the transaction but the money has not been backed to my bank account. Don't rely on their service. I will certainly NEVER use it. Rubbish.

    I was a PayPal customer for approx. 17 years. My initial experience with Xoom was good but then they wouldn't do any transfers and really never gave a reason as to why. They wouldn't have gotten the one star but for at least doing a few. Anyone using them should be aware that they are in control and apparently can close your account for any reason they choose. They have service representatives but not customer service.

    With the advent of Covid 19, I had to find a better way to send money to my older relatives in Jamaica without them having to stand in long lines and risk their health. They advised me Xoom was constantly advertised on Jamaican TV. I have an online business and was already set up with Paypal, so it was quite easy to link it with Xoom. I then received an email saying they were unable to complete the necessary verification and my transaction was cancelled. I emailed them back and asked why, however they would not tell you why. I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. My advice to Xoom relax your verification rules, banking is going digital and there will be other companies out there which will fill the void. Relax your KYC rules which are obviously heightened when sending money to some countries like Jamaica.

    I tried to pay my electric bill in Mexico using Xoom’s bill pay feature. I used my Paypal account that I have had for 18 years and have made 100’s of transactions thru that account. When I completed the payment process my payment was denied. The credit card that is associated with my paypal account processed the payment but Xoom denied it. I tried processing the payment again with the same result. I then reached out to Xoom and they told me that I needed to send them a copy of a picture id, a copy of the bill and a copy of my credit card bill. Seriously! I had to sign in to my Paypal account to make the payment. They do own Xoom right. I had to provide my electric company account # in order to pay and they denied it and requested the info listed above. Maybe they thought someone stole my identity in order to pay my bill.

    Tried several times to send money to a family in Ecuador. Each transaction was cancelled by Xoom. I have e-mailed them 3x and their response each time has been "Unfortunately, we were unable to complete the necessary verification and the restrictions placed on your account will remain." They have offered no information as to the specific nature of the problem and/or steps needed to fix it.

    In 2014, I got a popup conversation from Xoom.com that Xoom had plans for me and that Xoom hates me. Then they sealed me out of the account. Then in 2018 I found myself with an account again, and I bought Simulacra on Humble Bundle. While playing Simulacra, Xoom.com simulacra-ed me, and sealed me out of my account. Now Xoom.com is the only company that can send cash pickup in Argentina, and it is a Pandemic. I have an account again, and Xoom cancels every transaction that I attempt. Xoom also sends me monthly account summaries or some such uselessness. I have no option to close my account, nor to stop the emails. I suspect they had 3rd parties involved, people whom slandered me with them for fun.

    I have used XOOM money transfer(a PAYPAL service) for first time. I just chose Xoom because of the name PAYPAL. In the beginning XOOM website says money transfer in 3-4 hours. Once I made the transfer it became up to 3 working days. Reality is even worse. XOOM deducted money from my(sender's account) on second day from the day money transfer was made. bu today after 3 days money is still not received at receiver's end.

    I called customer care but because of COVID-19 you can write an e-mail to them only for help. I checked my bank account and money taken from my bank, so I gave a day to transfer money to receiver's account. It did not happen. When asked customer care by e-mailing them about the status of transfer, they told me my bank did not release the money and it will take up to 3 days, which was a lie as I had checked my bank account and money was taken.

    I wrote them again that money is already taken from bank account and then customer care informed yes money is taken but it's with third party...? During all this time I kept asking them for a confirm date, when receiver will have the money and they never answered this. Finally, they answered me that money will be transferred to receiver's account on 31st Mar, let's see. But I do not see any reason for XOOM to hold the money for 4 days after taking money from sender's bank? Poor service, specially when I needed the money in quick turn around !!! Scammers....

    I have used Xoom for the past 9 months. I pay my brother in Mexico mortgage payments monthly. I've transferred $8500 to his bank over this time. Recently he made me a great offer if I'd payoff $30k. I sent him $10000. Then came all that verification BS. I sent what they wanted. They said they would make a withdrawal that would be a little less than my transfer to verify my bank account. It took several days to satisfy their personal verification process.

    Then one day there was a pending withdrawal of $9999.91. I entered the amount in their verification window. Immediately my account was debited and THE TRANSACTION WAS CANCELED. It took another day to speak with someone who could tell me why. CS said Bancomer had refused the transaction. NOT TRUE, my brother called his branch. Flat lied to me then took a week to return the money to me. CS is terrible about on par with Western Union who's still the worst. Good luck to anyone trying to use this service. KEEP YOUR TRANSFERS TO $1000 OR LESS.

    I have been using Xoom for money transfers for years, money has always been receive by my recipients but this time I send money 2x to different people in the Phils. I received an email that both people picked up the money but the truth is they haven’t pick the money yet. How can that be? Now I’m so worried, I called Xoom 3x already and their answer is they are still waiting for their partners to respond. The first 2 people cannot give me a time frame as to when they will resolve this issue. The 3rd person said it will take 24-48hrs for the respond. I’m so worried, has anyone experience this with Xoom?

    My sister sent me money 4 days ago from Ireland. I live in Canada. Xoom is just playing around with our money. I needed it urgently. That’s why she thought xoom is quickest service to use but she was wrong. They ask for her and my documents which we sent same day. Still nothing in my bank. Please beware of using them.     I used Xoom based on recommendation by friend. Initial process of sending was ok. But they won't do anything until they verify you. So I got a call. The rep asked too many personal questions which I felt were unrelated to the transaction. I told them so but went along with it just to get it over with. Then instead of taking 1-2 days it took 7 days to transfer. Also center reps who happen to be in Philippines are extremely annoying. Which has been typical with call centers there. They get too wordy instead of being concise and to the point. My blood pressure goes a few points every time I'm on the phone with them.???

    Money transfer to China bank account doesn't show the option to pay for it with PayPal. NO MATTER what I do, even though it says it will show the possibility if I log in through PayPal, which I've done and also into Paypal in a separate tab, same browser. Then I called them, and you get NOTHING. 'Maybe call paypal, maybe this, maybe that'. RUBBISH. Don't advertise something that in reality isn't happening and waste my time!

    I had to transfer under 1,000 USD from the US to Portugal. My credit card company approved the transaction. Xoom requested a copy of my id, a proof of address and a FULL copy of my last credit card statement. It is not clear why so many requests for such an amount, as that is not a practice by Transferwise or Western Union. I provided them with the first page of my credit card, which included my credit card number, line of credit, and address, and a copy of my passport. After a couple of days the transaction was still on hold because they wanted my full statement. What a invasion of privacy! The money was transferred in the same day through Western Union, and I requested the cancellation. Of course, they reported that they canceled because I did not send all the unreasonable documents they requested. The communication with the company is slow and impersonal. Terrible experience. I will not use it again or recommend it to anyone.

    If you wish to send anything other than a relatively small amount, you will need to go through an onerous verification process. First $1000 went smoothly. Then I tried $12,000 and went into the vortex of their verification system. I sent all the documents they requested and answered all their questions. Then an email asked me to call for further verification. Here came the vortex. I was on hold for 18 minutes. Then, I had to have the woman repeat almost everything she said because the connection was a bit fuzzy and English was clearly not her first language. Then I was put on hold again. Time on the phone was 26 min.

    Then I was told to wait for a required call=back. I never received a call back. But I did get another email asking me to call the verification folks. So I went through the entire process a second time. (Another 25 min+). Same questions. But this time I did get a call back. TOTAL TIME ON THE PHONE over one hour. I hope things go smoothly from here on.

    I have been a customer for Xoom since few years and everything was fine until last couple of years. Since two years with my experience, this xoom services became worst of the worst troubling customer with their weird questions. I have just made an attempt to send few $$ to one of my friend in India and transaction being cancelled 2 times back to back and I had to call them and the representative lady started asking me what is my relationship to recipient, and purpose of sending this money. Why would anyone send such sensitive and personal information to any third party? It's really frustrating about these inappropriate questions to deal with them and now I have decided to cancel my subscription with XOOM. It's a Horrible experience for the last 2 years.

    They humiliate you making you feel like a criminal asking for why do you send the money???? And what is it about you who receives? In this case they said address was not fully written and email of the recipient is missing and many more questions but if email is not there I can leave blank. That's what they said. I did enter the full address of recipient and his phone number despite the transaction got cancelled 3rd time again. I strongly recommend dont use XOOM services for any transactions.

    I do not recommend to Xoom.com They are bad. They stop your $$ that you send to your relatives and they humiliate you making you feel like a criminal asking for documents, social security, driver's license, and INTERROGATE you where do you work? And why do you send the money???? And what is it about you who receives? And besides, it IS NOT MONEY IN MINUTES, it is money that stops you indefinitely. In this case it was only $100 blessed dollars ... and it's been more than 72 hours that they have it that way.     I just sent out 50 bucks to a friend in Asia. Xoom confirmed my bank account during that process. BUT the supposed first and only verification included my current bank statement in its entirety. Why would anyone send such sensitive and personal information to any third party? I sent a screenshot/pdf showing the above cited transaction but Xoom Paypal wants to financially undress me through this invasive verification process. The Filipino call center could not produce one manager to assist after waiting on an international call for 30-minutes.

    I have requested for a transfer by ** on Feb 10 with all details furnished as per Xoom's request by 10 AM PST. The website and reps said that will take 2-3 business days. It is more than 3 business days today as I write this today (Feb 13 8.15 PM PST). The transfer is not complete. My bank in US has been debited on Feb 12 Morning - 2 business days already - 12 & 13, which means it is credited to Xoom on 12 morning PST (Electronic Transfer). I am of the feeling that Xoom is holding up my money illegally and earning interest out of my money. I called cust. service 4 times to request to expedite in vain. As there was a breach of the advertised SLA of 3 days, my request for refund of my fees for transfer, was also not accepted. Xoom should not give false promises. Breach in SLA's should be compensated.

    I used Xoom weekly for a year. Then they decided to call me one day to make sure I was who I say I am. HUH? They speak horrible English and are hard as heck to understand. Well I've been sending transfer to family a hundred times for a year and there has NEVER been a problem. Hold on they say. They come back and say my account has been cancelled. What? Why after a year?

    They say "we can't tell you because it will reveal our methods and procedures." So now you're the CIA and FBI? Jeez what a bunch of morons. By the way, the say Paypal all over their site, but when pressed admit they are NOT related to Paypal but another company hiding behind the Paypal brand. Worthless stupid people who will be of NO help when you need them. Their employees are just reading scripts.     My experience with Xoom started when I needed to transfer money to an individual in Mexico. I am in the states. Things started out fast. I was able to select the amount I wanted to save and fill in the information pretty quickly. The trouble started as soon as I hit send on the interface. I received an email saying I needed to send more documents to verify my account. I sent them and called the number on the email to double check that they had received my info. I was answered by someone in a terribly loud room. I could barely hear him. To make things worse, his English was terrible. It was very difficult to understand him, to say the least. He proceeds to tell me that, "unfortunately your account can't be verified and I cannot give you information as to why that is." I asked if I should try with the transaction again. He told me that it would be canceled and that there was nothing he could do.

    I spent the majority of the workday going back and forth with XOOM; sending documentation etc.. And then they tell me I cant use their service pretty much and they can't tell me why!!! What an incredible waste of time and effort!! As a last ditch effort I tried reaching them through their customer service portal by writing about my experience. As expected, the portal is BS and says that the survey is closed. SUCH A TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT.

    As a first time Xoom user, I wanted to get Chilean pesos in cash from my own credit card in euros. So I created a Xoom account, all was fine. But when I tried to do the transfer (button Approve payment), I got a fuzzy message like "Something went wrong, try later". Believing it was due a server overload or something like that, I tried the same operation many times, without success. So I wrote a mail to the customer service. Who answered that there was not enough money on my bank account. Actually there was enough money but I simply exceeded the weekly amount I was allowed to get from cash withdrawal. So 2 remarks: 1. A transfer through Xoom is a withdrawal, not a payment as I thought, and 2. If Xoom knows it is a matter of total amount, why don't they tell the customer?

    So I just went on my bank's website to increase the weekly amount allowed, then went back to Xoom to do a transfer again, which seemed to work this time. Alas, a few minutes later, I got a mail from Xoom telling me that the operation was cancelled from their side, without any other explanation. I tried again with a smaller amount, same result was cancellation from Xoom. I left a message about that on their site, and the answer was "We are sincerely sorry" (I am still expecting a customer service to say that they are insincerely sorry), but they did not provide me with any solution, your transactions are cancelled and that's it. The transaction numbers are ** and **.

    So the conclusion of all this is that some kind of artificial intelligence decided I was a crook. Maybe a long trial in front of Xoom's customer service will allow me to prove I am innocent, but this would no longer be a fast money transfer, or would look much more like a money transfer from North Korea to Cuba or the other way round. Sorry for having been long, the conclusion of all this is just to never rely on Xoom as a critical resource, as they can cancel your operations as they wish. And they will be sincerely sorry to put you in deep trouble if you urgently needed the money. Luc **

    I got a call from Xoom to verify a money transfer. The woman started asking me what my relationship was to recipient, how we met, how long I have known, purpose of sending this money. I spoke to a supervisor who said they can ask these questions to verify. They also wanted more documents to process. I cannot express how angry I was about these inappropriate questions. I asked to cancel the transaction and will never deal with Xoom again. Horrible experience.

    They don’t give upfront details of verification needed. Wasted a lot of time on this process. Not enough characters in this to write a succinct report. Bottom line, I think I’ll pay the extra fee at the bank and not lay open mine and recipients details. I just needed a faster option this time for sending a transfer, that’s why I tried this. They called after I signed up to tell me after the fact to send photo ID and PDF file of bank statement, later they said it wasn’t legible (it was) and so I called and they said they needed statements from the bank PDF. (I receive paper statements) I had scanned & put in a PDF file. Not to their “standards.” Esentially, don’t blow what shall amount to your whole day with this nonsense. You have better things to do.

    The other reviews are not lying either, I should have listened to my instinct. You’ll be unhappy you didn’t as well if you get caught in the net. They are trying I’m sure but it’s really not good enough. If the standards Xoom are asking for afterwards, are told beforehand I could have made a better informed decision, and it’s the respectful way to operate in life. A very poor performance by them, and the one star is a default choice by the way. No fault of customer service operatives who were probably fielding other questions and concerns and were gracious. The business itself is a bit broken if they can’t get the fundamentals of attracting and keeping potential customers happy and fulfilling a simple contract.

    My family member never received the money I send through Oxxo. But they keep telling us that she did get. All oxxo is asking for is a proof from Xoom to see what locations the money was picked from and Xoom can’t send it. They say they need a response from corporate and that they don’t an exact location.     So furious with my conversation at one of their representatives. So I send money to my sister in Philippines. I'm currently here in Germany coz my husband got stationed here. My transaction was put on hold after I send the money coz it required me to provide ID and docs that shows my local address. Problem is all our local bills are addressed to my husband’s name since he was the one who processed our moving in.

    I called customer service and told them that if they insist for my bank accounts they will be seeing the Armed forces Europe address. I was put on hold for more or less 20 mins only to be told I cannot proceed with the transaction and since I maxed the level 1 limit which he said was 40k pesos, there is no way I can use Xoom again while I'm here in Germany. I can't believe I was hearing that. They don’t have anything to solve the problem. They just shut off their customer. And they don’t take APO AE address unlike WU. So there, guess I'd be taking my money somewhere else and I'll make sure all my family and friends think twice before using xoom again.

    This seems to be how they operate: if you look through the reviews, you'll see that the positive ones are all in the US. That's because the ridiculously Byzantine and utterly inflexible verification process requires documents that presumably exist in the US, but certainly don't outside it. The worst thing is that they let you think you've made the transaction, then cancel it, forcing you into 'verification'. The customer sales guy I had to call because I hadn't received an email reply by the end of the day was extremely rude and unhelpful (his script was basically limited to "to answer that would be to compromise our (ridiculous) security system". What's more, his questions were intrusive and utterly irrelevant to the matter at hand. I really felt that I was guilty until proven innocent: I don't think I've spoken at like that since I was at school (which was 35 years ago). And, by the way, I was trying to pay an invoice from my company account to an associate's business account!!!

    Yesterday, I tried to transfer money by using Xoom. I was a first time user. I got a phone call from them for data verification. I gave them every detail. Further, they sent me an email where they required additional documents. Namely, a PDF of my national ID and the most recent balance on the credit card. I supplied both immediately. I called back, and they told me that the operation had to be cancelled, and that my account with Xoom would now be blocked. This is indeed most peculiar. They would not tell me the reason, or give me the chance to prove that the data is completely legit. I have been using online services for over 25 years and I have never encountered such a perplexing situation. This is definitely a fail in customer service. The worst form of insolence.

    Yesterday I sent Xoom an email regarding my transaction being cancelled. They asked me to contact the customer verification team. I had a contact at their email id and also called the customer service. They cannot provide me any reason for the cancelled transaction. Also they mentioned I cannot make any transaction on my account and there is no way to fix it. This sounds very bizarre as I simply registered and tried to make a transaction. If they need any verification or any document, they should have asked for it. I have never encountered such a scenario while making money transfers.

    They are telling me that I cannot use their platform and cannot provide me reason for that. I find this very offensive and discriminatory. I will happily use TransferWise or MoneyGram which are much reliable and customer friendly. But I will make sure I give them an appropriate review for this very bad experience. Stay away from them if you do not want such experiences.

I called Xoom, after some checking, the lady on the phone told me, there were some technical problems with their partner bank, so there’s a delay!     I initiate a transfer on Friday 3rd January and today 8th january the money did not transfer to the beneficiary's account. So far I talked to Eden, Cheryl, Marifa, Maiacris, Allyn. I am contacting everyday and I am getting an answer their partner not responding, if their partner not responding I think this company choose a wrong partner. If their partner not responding they send mail do nothing telling me their partner not responding.

    I sent money using Xoom (US to Hong Kong) a few times with no problem. It took 4-5 days. The last time, however, I sent on 27 Dec 2019 and have not yet received the funds as of 6 Jan 2020 (HK time). Enquiry sent to Xoom was answered as follows: "our partner encountered an unexpected problem processing your recent transaction... We're actively looking into it and will update you as soon as we have more information." I'm still hoping to get my money, but quite disillusioned at present.     I sent my niece Money to Jamaica for Christmas. After being bombarded by commercials about how fast Xoom is in sending money I thought I would give it a try it. On Dec 22nd I sent the money. I received an email notifying me that the money had been delivered to her bank Scotia Bank in her town. Upon investigation I was told that Xoom uses a third party in Jamaica therefore she had to go to the their office and provide her passport TRN and filled a bunch of forms. Today Jan 3rd she still has not received the money. Never again.

    In fact I had a similar bad experience when my sister sent me money from the US to Canada through Paypal. I closed my account only to reopen thinking Xoom would be any different. I was wrong. Never again will I use this service.I have provided every information they have asked for other than my DNA. Very bad customer experience I must say. When I called their customer service I would swear they were the same people I was talking to to they could not deposit my money to my account a year ago. Very rude and condescending!

    Like so many others here, I had a similar experience. I actually tried using the service a year ago to send some money to a good friend who was stranded on the side of the road in Baja, Mexico where I vacation frequently. It wasn't a large amount, $150. The only way to get it to him was to have it sent to his daughter who could drive to where he was and get it to him. I have met but according to XOOM I didn't know her well enough because I didn't know her address by heart when I spoke to the rep and had to look for it on my computer.

    I tried it again to pay the electric bill in my Baja vacation rental a few days ago thinking surely that would be easy. But no, why do they need so much personal information to SEND money? Every time I supplied verification they said they needed, they would still decline it stating I needed something else. They ask extremely intrusive questions that seem very unnecessary and it is very difficult to even understand what the reps are saying. I finally gave up and thankfully found I could make the payment another way in less than a minute, for a lower fee and without the hassle. Xoom is a joke.

    Xoom constantly lies to me, I have recorded the calls proving it. They blame me for wrong address which I proved is the correct one; they've delivered to it before. Money is in third party delivery claimed by xoom. Told them to cancel almost a week ago and have not; this stupid circus keeps going on and on and on. Next week going to the bank and consulting with an attorney.

    I attempted to transfer money with this company. It says it's a PayPal company but obviously isn't associated. Even though I have an established PayPal account which I use on a regular basis, it's like pulling teeth to establish an account with XOOM. And yet....I can sign in using my PayPal account. I keep getting automated e-mails claiming that the information I send them is incomplete, but not contacting me to tell me why!!! They ask for government ID and a copy of Credit Card/Bank Statement of which I have sent a PDF file twice. I'm only trying to send the equivalent of $162 CDN in Pesos!! I give up!!! My local bank is a lot easier to use for money transfer.

    Worst money transfer service out there! I had received an email from my Paypal acct notifying me of this service with Xoom. A few weeks ago I sent money to my brother and I thought it went out same day. Then I get an email saying they need to verify. I call them. They ask crazy questions like what is it being used for, how many times do you anticipate sending, etc. Ok so they "liked" my answers and sent. Now last night, I tried to send 400, appeared ok. Then this morning I checked my emails and message appears to call them to verify.

    I tell them it's the same recipient and we have same last name. I'm somewhat annoyed that they need to verify my info again. They start again with the stupid questions, what is it being used for, how many times will I be sending. So he puts me on hold and comes back saying denied and canceled! They treat you like a criminal for trying to use your own money!!! Use Money Gram from now on. They should go out of business, sooner than later!

    I set up the Xoom account to send money to my India account. As a test, I sent $10 which got transferred within two hours, no issues at all. Then I tried to send a bigger amount (a few thousand). Xoom asked me to verify my account details by providing bank statements, IDs, passport, etc. I provided everything. Xoom confirmed that all documents are verified. Then they said that since the amount is big, they are going to take 7-10 business days to transfer the amount. I waited for the said period. I got a confirmation from them on December 13 that amount is deposited in recipient bank account and transaction is complete.

    It's been a whole week and I haven't received the credit in my account. I have been following up with them but they keep saying that transaction is complete from their end, but they will check with their partner. But to no avail. This is terrible service! I feel cheated. I read in the reviews, I am not alone. There are other people facing the same issue. I am surprised the company is not sued yet! I am going wait another week before I sue their **.

    I wanted to send money from my debit card checking account. If you use a credit card then you are paying extra charges for cash withdrawal. Shortly after placing my online order I received email informing that my transaction is suspended and asking to call them in order to confirm details of my identity. I called and spent 10 minutes answering questions about my address, phone number, date of birth etc. But that wasn't enough. I was asked to email a PDF copy of my banking statement. That seemed to be a bit too intrusive into my privacy but I sent them official copy downloaded from my bank website.

    One day passed, and I received another email saying that my document was not legible/ was lost. They asked me again to send a detailed statement. I double checked my sent items box, and surely the attachment was sent. There was no guarantee that resending will change the situation. I finally got fed up with all that nonsense and asked them to cancel my order and to remove all my account data from their server. Then I went to MoneyGram office, showed my driver's license and performed the transfer in 3 (three!) minutes. Never again I will use Xoom.

    First time using Xoom. Not happy. Got the impression that it's fast. But mine is taking 1-3 business days because supposedly I am drawing funds from bank and not by debit/credit card. Nowhere in the transaction process did it say that nor did any customer service rep tell me in the 4 conversations I had with them while I was completing the transaction. Customer reps are also in the Philippines who I find needlessly wordy, inefficient and difficult to comprehend. No offense but companies should not be using call centers in the Philippines.

    If US have to farm it out they should use Mexico Call Centers. They get right to the point. Maybe Paypal has not received a letter from a State Attorney General yet. If my transaction will take more than 2 business days I will be filing a complaint with my SAG who will in turn be writing Paypal for an explanation. And if there are shenanigans going on the SAG is the last agency they want to mess with. I encourage you all to file complaints with your SAG if Paypal/Xoom is not meeting their commitment.

    I used Xoom several times to send money back home to Jamaica. On my first transfer, they completed the verification process with me on the phone, no problem. All other transfers went fine for the next 7 months. Today, I tried to send money to a second relative today. Got the confirmation number so thought everything was going smoothly as usual.

    NOPE!! Got an email saying the transaction is cancelled. Nobody called to notify me. When I called Xoom customer service, they made me go through the verification process AGAIN. When I asked why, they did not answer and kept talking over me. Then they told me that there is still a hold on my card for $300 that they will release to the bank in 3-5 business days. They told me if I resend the transfer, another $300 will go out. This means I’m out $600!!!! until the bank hold is lifted!!

    There is a CLEAR pattern here. If you are not sending money to a rich country they automatically assume there’s criminal activity involved. You are better off going to MoneyMart or any other service that isn’t so ignorant instead of Xoom where you have to constantly explain yourself just to send your loved ones some Christmas money. I understand there are scammers but this is absolutely ridiculous, especially when my Xoom is linked to PayPal (which I’ve had 10+ years and use regularly and they NEVER ask questions about that. Even when money was stolen from my account a few years ago, NOT A PEEP!

    My mom also tried to use Xoom. They called her to verify. The person was RUDE - did not even tell us their name. They started asking my mom why she was sending the money, for what purpose, how she’s related to the person, and that they want her government ID and a copy of her bank statements!! Then they cancelled her transaction because she was scared a scammer was calling to steal her info since Xoom wanted such personal details and the person never identified themselves. I don’t understand why things changed and you have to constantly do verifications over and over again. Very happy I closed my Xoom account today and moved on to a better service. :) If you want to send money to anywhere that’s not a rich country, prepare for a lot of headaches.

    Opened the account. Easy. App works fine. Tried to make transfers and, one by one, they got canceled. Sent all requested paperwork to prove I am me, etc. Documents got approved and still, every single transaction got canceled instantaneously. With the operator on the line, she tells me everything is fine and asks for me to try once more; still, the transaction gets canceled. They are incompetent and stupid. Made me waste a hell lot of time. A disgrace. Look elsewhere.

    I tried to send money to one of my cousin back in India and they cancelled my transaction twice without a proper reason. When I called the customer service to enquire on why my transaction was cancelled they told me the recipient was permanently blocked by Xoom and the proper reason was not specified. I tried to make another transfer to another recipient and they put a hold on the transaction for bank account verification. This is not my first transaction using Xoom (a Paypal service). Not sure why would they do such a thing like blocking a recipient. I would not recommend Xoom to any one to send money to India.

    Xoom is a complete waste of time. After creating an account, and completing a transaction, I found myself unable to access my account due to an alleged password error. After trying to reset my password 5 times, 4 of which were done while speaking with an agent on the phone, I gave up and cancelled the whole transaction. During the half an hour I spent on the phone with the agent I was treated like an idiot. She kept telling me that I had entered information incorrectly, which I hadn't. Avoid Xoom at all costs.

    I have transferred funds almost on 15 September 2019 using the Xoom service, from France to Cameroon. After preliminary checks, I got updated on 17 September the transfer was complete. I told my wife in Cameroon to check and after a week, funds were still not available. I told her to wait another week, what she did, but the situation was unchanged.

    I got in touch with Xoom Customer Service and they promised to look into it. Later, he promised to transfer my issue to competent services. I received a "transfer receipt" stating funds were transferred. I sent the receipt to the recipient bank and they objected. Upon getting the account history, there were no transaction of such. So far, almost 3 MONTHS LATER, were have not been transferred after countless follow-up emails sent. What is going on and where is my money? I can't tell. I'm just tired of this and am currently considering a legal action. THIS IS THE WORST MONEY TRANSFER SERVICE EVER.

    I only ever transfer money between the same two accounts, and yet after 12 months they still cancel or hold every single payment I make. They used to provide great FX but now even their rates aren't the most competitive anymore. Of course they also put a hold on my cash every time they cancel my transaction so it takes 1-3 days before I can even attempt to use a competitor service. I tried to use this service, I tried to like it - but their algo really doesn't like me.

    I've been a Xoom customer for 3 years and most recently I've had several instances where my money tranfer has been several days (+4 days) using direct deposit to a bank account in Mexico. Every time I call the reason I get is "a technical delay with our partners" and it's frustrating when the person on the receiving end needs the cash sooner rather than later. If Xoom keeps having these "technical issues" with the same partner, simply fix the issue or drop them as partners or lose my business and all recommendations. I can't wait for blockchain to be more prevalent with instantaneous transfers and less fees. As not only a customer but a shareholder in PayPal I'm disappointed.

    I use Xoom to send money to my son who is studying in France and also to help my brother. To pick up the cash, Xoom uses the services of the ”company RIA”. And that's where the problem starts. Indeed, my son went to 2 agencies in the city of Marseille and the two agencies refused to give him the money because RIA had not given the authorization. I spoke through the phone with a lady who works at the agency who told me that they had a lot of trouble with RIA and the best way is to cancel the transaction and claim the refund to XOOM.

    That's what I did. The transaction was canceled by Xoom last August. We are now in November and Xoom never refunded my money. Xoom sent me a message saying that the money has never been debited from my account, so no refund. Xoom lies because the money has been debited from my account. I have plausible evidence for that.

    The other case, I send every month to my brother some money to help him with the common expenses. When my brother went to the agency to withdraw the money, the employee told him that he had the transaction number but not the RIA authorization to give him the money? The money was sent on November 4th and it is November 18th, and Xoom is unable to solve this problem. Xoom gave me a case number and that's the complete silence since. I have practically sent an E-Mail every day to remind them that they have to refund me back my money but I do not get any answer from them?

    When you look at RIA reviews, you realize that actually people who use the services of "this company" are having a lot of trouble getting their money. RIA stays with the money of the beneficiaries. So we can consider RIA as a SCAM? I do not understand why a subsidiary as XOOM/PAYPAL of Apple has associated with crooks to tarnish their reputation.

    RIA are thieves and XOOM / PAYPAL are totally incompetent to solve a problem when there is one? In order to get back my legitimate money, I had to ask my bank to open a dispute with XOOM and I am in contact with my lawyer in order to take all legal actions against this company. Xoom treats its customers with a contempt that has no comparison. Although, I repeat to them that the money I send is necessary for the survival of the beneficiaries, they really don’t care? Never use the services of XOOM / PAYPAL because when you have a problem, they let you down. I can assure you of that.

    If Paypal is instantaneous then how come this company that is affiliated with Paypal doesn't work as fast. It has taken from 18 hours to 36 hours to finalize a transfer. I would like to see the same amount of speed it takes like Paypal. Good point is that it is a fixed fee and that is a plus.

    I was getting frustrated with the red tape and multiple hoops one had to go through, for sending money abroad. Swift numbers and account restrictions and foreign regulations to name a few. Xoom circumvents all of that. Once I give the details of foreign bank account(s), xoom takes care of all the other concerns and issues. Their exchange rate is competitive and up-to-date. Their fee is very nominal. I have sent money abroad through Xoom several times in the past year. The process is very simple and painless. There were no glitches. This is the best thing that happened to me!

    I have been a Xoom client since 2008. This is the only money-sending company I used overseas. From my experience, each time I send money for cash pick-up from the US to the Philippines, it took only 1-3 hours and the money is ready for pick-up by the recipient per email notification. When I send money to bank accounts, it takes only 1 business day before the money is available in the bank account. Last month, I went to the Philippines for a short stay and I ran out of cash. I called xoom and they said I can send money to myself like the usual cash-pick up the same day. So I sent money to myself and to my surprise, I received an email saying that they are waiting for my bank to disburse the money and it will take up to 3 business days to process after that before I can pick up the money.

    It said also that I can expedite that by locating a smaller amount than my requested amount on my bank transaction page that will appear after 1 business day and put that same amount in the transaction tracking in my xoom account. This is some bs that never happened to me before. And after 1 business day, there was no amount appeared on my bank transaction from them. So I called them and they had no valid explanation on that. They keep on saying that their money is "pre-funded" but didn't make any sense. But the way how the transaction goes, it's no longer pre-funded coz they still have to wait for my bank to disburse them the money before it becomes available to me.

    I finally got my money thru cash pick-up after 4 business days. Then my friend over there needed some money for emergency purposes and hospital bills. I sent her money for cash pick-up as well and same bs happened to her. So I am no longer using xoom after this experiences I had! They are no longer reliable for same day cash pick-up and they keep on saying wrong info or claim to their clients that they are "pre-funded" which evidently, they are not!

    I went through PayPal to send money abroad, it was relatively easy but Paypal charges a small fee and then Xoom charges a higher rate on the transfer. Be aware of that, I would check other options but I am sure this may be cheaper than your bank doing a transfer, not positive on that.

    After sending a small amount to a friend abroad, I received an email saying that my transaction was pending verification and asking that I call Xoom verification team. The agent I spoke to had a sleepy and monotonous voice, was unintelligible and seemed to be repeating a script. I was asked many ridiculous and unreasonable questions and asked to send a government issued Id. and my bank statement. Too frustrating! I ended up asking to have the transaction cancelled. Right after that, I received another email stating that Xoom had to cancel my transaction due to their policies and requirements!!!! When It was I who cancelled it.

    I trust and find Paypal very convenient and helpful. I have trouble believing they are partners. I will never use Xoom again!

    I successfully transferred money with Xoom last week on 2 separate occasions and all went well after some security call backs. One transfer was for 400 Thai baht and the other for 10,000 Thai baht. I tried again today for another 10,000 Thai baht, received an email requesting I call them. I did, was subjected to a great many questions only to be told that my latest transaction would be cancelled as there was a problem with my ID/security answers. They would not elaborate on why. I requested a callback from a supervisor who proceeded to give me nothing in the way of an explanation. Terrible service. Will not waste my time with them again as their systems are clearly inadequate.

    Send money to Santo Domingo with Xoom, pay for it to be given in dollars, not only did it take three days, it was also given in Dominican pesos and much lower than the exchange rate, as a result; I'm claiming with Zoom and they don't solve anything for me since they tell me it's Caribean Express' problem. I did business with Zoom and not with any other identity. The loss is more than $250 pesos and $7 dollars, they are responsible and I will not do more business with them.

    Unbelievable! I began with a transaction to send money to the Philippines at 8:52pm. I received two separate emails, 12 hours apart telling me that the transaction was pending and asking me to call them to verify. Two separate agents on both calls asked a bunch of questions which were irrelevant and none of their business, like what was the money for, did I own a house there, what was the relationship I had with the recipient, etc. The first agent wanted a copy of my driver's license as well, which was sent. All this was under the guise of 'protecting me from fraud'. Had I simply gone to my local WalMart and used Western Union, the money would have been transferred in 10 minutes, instead of wasting 15 hours with Xoom! PayPal is a great service. This one is terrible!
