    Walmart MoneyCard was the least expensive to use so I went with them and I've been with them for quite some time. I can do anything with it that I can do with my regular bank card. I had started it so I could save money and it has become a very integral part of everyday life. But I tried to change my address with it a while back, and it would not let me do it. Other than it, it's fine. I'm quite happy with it.

    I have had Walmart MoneyCard for nearly 2 years, & I've had no issues with my direct deposit. It's always there on time. I use it to pay bills, & haven't had any problems at all. I recommended Walmart Money Card to my brother as well. My direct deposits are the same each month, with exception of deposits I make myself. Never any issues, & hope it will always remain that way.

    On 8/1/2019 sent a money transfer from WMC using the app to a person and they transferred the money over to a PayPal account. It never got to the PayPal account. I called multiple times and even called with PayPal on conference call to Walmart MoneyCard only to still not have the money returned or put in the PayPal account. This is ridiculous, I was told that the feature is no longer offered then why in the hell is it a option on the website. It’s been over a month and no resolution. I have been a WMC customer for a long time and it will be a thing of that past very soon. This not how you treat customers and as a company shouldn’t advertise services that are not applicable.

    I was using this card last year between March-April 2018. Card gets locked due to benefits for my kids was placed on the card. Provide all the information they needed but was still gave the runaround. Nothing has changed til this day card still locked balance of 1,037. It’s ridiculous. I wouldn’t recommend you guys use this service and their customer service sucks very rude and disrespectful.

    Updated 11/4/2019: My problem with this company should have taken one phone call and probably would have if JAY had handled it. Instead, their customer service department from hell wasted hours of my time, insulted my intelligence repeatedly and treated me like a criminal. "Valued Customer" may be the name on my card-- but the customer service people made it clear they don't value me or even want my business.

    Original review: I bought a Wal-Mart moneycard a couple of years ago so I could pay for my auto insurance online. I switched insurance to a local company so I hadn't used my card in a while ($0 balance). On 8/25, I went to Wal-Mart to cash my paycheck and asked the cashier to check to see if my moneycard was still good because I hadn't used it for several months. He asked how much and I said $100. He said yes, it's still good, it took the $100. I loaded the $100 with the only card I've ever had, the original one with name Valued Customer. I went online to purchase an All Data year's subscription so my boyfriend could fix my truck. About $27, was declined-- inactive card. I tried it a couple more times and each was declined for the same reason.

    On 9/26 I called 1-877-937-4098 to find out why my card had been declined. I was told my card was deactivated because I used my Temporary card. She said "you can't go BACK to using the temporary card after using the card printed with your name." I told her I never had a card with my name on it, and if the problem was my using the temporary card, why wasn't my $100 deposit rejected/declined? She said it was deactivated right AFTER the deposit.

    I told her I needed to change my address before anything was mailed to me. I explained that when I first signed up, I had just moved to Oregon and the person who helped me activate my card told me to use my Texas address, since I was living in a hotel at the time. She told me I was required to give my address change to the automated system and no, she couldn't take the information from me. Naturally, the automated system hung up on me when it didn't recognize my account number

    I called back later; a menu choice: if you are calling about a card that has been lost or stolen, or if you never received your reprinted card, select this choice. I told the girl that I'd never received a reprinted card. That the girl I spoke with earlier said my temporary card was no good anymore and I needed a new one. She said it had already been mailed, and therefore someone much have stolen it from the mail and was using it. I said no. The card was probably mailed 2 years ago and was thrown away. I've had no problem with money being missed or anyone other than me using my account. Don't your records show that? I didn't realize a preprinted card was mailed out and had no problem using the temporary one until now.

    She said clearly my account had been.compromised since someone had my printed card and may be using it. I asked if she couldn't look at my account and see that only the temporary card had ever been used for purchases and deposits? No complaints about lost funds or unusual activity? She said my account was compromised and a check would be mailed to the address on file.

    I told her I preferred the check to come to my Oregon address. She said I could change my address online or by emailing my old and new driver's license along with 2 bills addressed to me at my new address. She said email this to: refund request/account takeover, etc. I said I'm not asking for a refund -- refunds imply I'm returning something I was unhappy with and account takeover implies fraud. Neither are true. I simply want my money that according to your rules, never should have been accepted in the first place. Do y'all need my $100 (now $90) that BAD? I went online and found I had never created an account so I spent 45 minutes doing so. Went to sign in, and received message to try back in 24 hours.

    I called back the next day and got a man. I went thru the same story and I thought he was going to help. He then repeated the email address of refund request/account takeover. I asked to speak with a supervisor or someone with authority to actually help me. He told me he had submitted my request to speak with a supervisor, they would call back within 2 days. Keep my line free! What? If they get a busy signal they won't call back? Out of curiosity I asked him, if he had the authority to reinstate my account or had I wasted hours talking to a bunch of flunkies reading from scripts that said: express sympathy for customers problem, then tell them what they must do to wait for their money. Bottom line: no meaningful help provided. He hung up on me.

    Supervisor called during appointment. Verified my name, social security and then asked for phone number I used to set account up with 2 years ago. I told him I had a new number, and couldn't be sure and gave him wrong number. Told him I had it at home. He said I couldn't pass simple identity test. Call back when home and had the number. Called back and gave girl my correct number. Basically told I had to send my driver's license and bills to fraud department and wait for them to send check. I said just mail it to old address. I'll contact post office and person at old address and ask them to watch for it. Now no, not without driver's license. After dealing with these people, how would anyone feel comfortable sending them more personal information? I don't. What happens to my money and other people's money who just refuse to deal with them anymore? Does Green Dot just keep it?

    I went back to Wal-Mart and asked them to reverse my deposit. Couldn't do it. Did check my balance, still $90. Don't know what fee was paid for $10. The manager I spoke with said she was not allowed to interfere with their service and wished they didn't sell the cards. I told her I bought it and used it, thinking Wal-Mart would stand behind it. Pretty stinky of Wal-Mart. The customer service people were very good at twisting my words and saying no. After hearing how so very sorry they were so many times, I asked them to please stop with the sorries. It was obviously insincere because if they were so sorry, they would help me get my money and not let their company screw people like me.

    I understand the problems of identity theft and why companies are cautious. However, I also understand the importance of using common sense. I provided information about my account that only I would know. When and where I made my last deposit. The declined internet purchase. Transactions I told them I had made, and should help prove my identity --they want to say are proof of fraudulent activity. My user agreement has not been followed. Maybe my card's fees are too low and they want to cancel it. They know that most of their cardholders are low income so maybe that's why they get away with their horrible customer service. One thing I know for sure, there has been no compromise of my account or activity by anyone other than me. My money is there, they just refuse to give it to me. Only fraud is by them not following their own rules. A small amount of common sense and a brain could have solved this on my first call.

    I provide my license to Wal-Mart every time I cash my check or deposit money to my card. I would be happy to provide it again at green dot's request, but emailing it and agreeing that fraud has occurred on my account is ridiculous. I prefer any further communication with these people to be in writing. If anyone from green dot wishes to contact me, please do so by email. I propose a simple agreement -- Green dot reinstate my card for 1 transaction at the Wal-Mart I deposited at, with my driver's license and I promise to never buy another green dot product.

    I always get my direct deposit two days early no problem. I have not received my direct deposit today and I don’t know why. I have called and they said it has not been posted but I don’t understand what the difference between today is than any other day.

    Lost my wallet at work. Called for a new one. Was told 7 to 10 business day. Waited 11 day. Called agent and was told I would have to have a new card sent but would only take 3 business days. Called on the 4 day and was told I'd have to wait 6 more days for it to come. I now will have 3 pay checks in my account rent due facing a violation for late pay plus fees. I will be closing this account whenever I get my card.

    Bought the $1 Walmart prepaid Visa card on 8/27/2019. Loaded $79 on it to pay my light bill. Got home to set up the card. Activate/register it and it ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT ACTIVATE. Called customer service. Was told to send in copies of my receipt and card to rr@greendot.com and I would hear back within 1 business day. Did that. And heard nothing two days later. I called again. They kept giving me the runaround, sending me to the automated card setup, which clearly wouldnt do me any good. Finally about 5 days later after calling 100 times and getting no help a cust service agent told me the card I bought was "flawed" and basically there was nothing they could do about it.. I need my money back somehow. This is clearly not my fault & someone should have already done something to get my money back to me. Thank to this my lights were cut off and me and my 4 children are having to stay with a family member.

    I am trying to find an answer to why just out of the blue that Walmart would close my MoneyCard for no apparent reason. I can get nothing but pre-recorded phone lines. I got the money card for my son who lives out of state. I load it 4 or 5 times a week with small amounts. Apparently Walmart wants you to use it differently?? I need an answer!     Walmart money card. My wife got money card for grandson for school. He tried using. Shows no money, but needs activation...tried for a week online and phone, can not talk to human until we asked for refund.. 6 hangups later, and four people later, Lucy, Michael, John, yea right, very difficult to understand from god knows where, told her they will refund $100 in 23 days but could not give reference # yet. Was told to hold, they then hung up again.. Very unhappy, will never buy again or any card from walmart.

    Original Review: Sept. 2, 2019

    Update on 9/10/2019: Someone somehow, was able to get ahold of my debit card numbers and went to town on purchases of the last weekend. I went to the Walmart site online and printed a the claims form for transactions dispute. I filled that out and did a review on this site. I received a call in a few day from a representative of ConsumerAffairs. I emailed the same information I had sent by mail to the email address he gave me. Over the phone he was able to have new card sent that arrived in two days. Before I hung up he said I will get a confirmation email that he received the information I sent.

    I didn't get a confirmation email, I called the next morning to see I sent it to the right address and it was confirmed I did. The lady was nice and very helpful as well as the gentleman on the phone. I had two disputes. One of the has been refunded already and I'm waiting on the status of the next one. I am pleased with the response time because we all have bill to pay and credit scores to maintain right!!! Thank you for the awesome service during an unfortunate incident that plaques good customers everyday.

    Original Review: I loved this card and have always stood up for this card vs any bank. I get daily text alerts on balance. Today I just received a text my balance was 500 short. I found out this weekend I am a victim of fraud and have to change everything. I am not sure if how Walmart will handle this. But I already reported everything and will call again to make sure I can get a new card and have it transferred. Without the daily text I would have not known so quickly. I am CA and someone in Michigan is racking up transaction. Be careful and get the daily text. I will update if I get the transactions reversed. In this world theft will always be high. I just want the purchases reversed.

    When I purchased the card, there was nothing on the packet that said you have to register the card on a laptop or computer. I called 5 times to speak with a representative after 10 failed attempts to register through automated system and online on my iPhone. Finally after being left on hold and transferred 10 times, for I was told to use a computer. If I was elderly, and didn’t have a computer, I would have been screwed.

    Updated on 09/14/2019: Update on my Wal-Mart card. I’m becoming frustrated, in my previous response I asked to be called at a certain time frame. I keep getting the same generic response. I’ve provided my information and two weeks later, still no help from WalMart Customer Service or Green Dot. I was credited back my money only for Wal-Mart to take it away Again. This seems very fraudulent. Green Dot called at a time I specifically said I wasn’t available, and claimed they couldn’t leave a voicemail for the public view. This is untrue. Again avoid this card completely. This has become a nightmare!

    Original Review: Please avoid this card! I took a chance on it and I’m greatly regretting it. The customer service is absolutely horrible! I called multiple times just to get the same person, giving the same answer. Unauthorized money was taken from my account, $315 to be exact. I called as soon as I seen the transaction, while it was pending. I felt relief thinking I’ll get my money back, well I was wrong. I was told on multiple times I have to wait until it post, then dispute it. That made no sense considering it’s pending and it’s putting me in financial hardship. So now I’m forced to wait 16 days to file a dispute. I’m so confused and never had this happen with any card/bank account. Netspend customer service was amazing when it came up unauthorized/pending transactions. I’m taking all my money off today, and filing a complaint. Try NetSpend instead if you want a peace of mind, or Chase.

    Disregard the 1 star. I want to make this clear, THIS IS A NEGATIVE 5 STAR RATING!!! So I sign up with Wal Mart MoneyCard for direct deposit with my employer because they sold me on receiving my paychecks up to 2 days earlier. Well payday came and I go to check my balance when I get this "account blocked until further review" BS and I'm no longer able to open my account. It shows me my balance with the view my balance feature and my check was deposited. So I'm thinking ok I got my money but the app is down.

    I then call CS and they tell me that I need to email them my DL ID (front&back) and check stub from the employer who made the direct deposit, I said fine I did it while talking to them on the phone. The agent verified it was received when she gets back on the line and proceeds to tell me that she received it, then tells me it's gonna take 2, YES TWO! Business days!! (After my payday Friday) for them to review the documents I emailed to them and then they would release my funds. SMDH! Ain't this some **, so much for receiving my check 2 days earlier. False advertising at its best Wal Mart. Oh yeah and it's labor day weekend so I probably won't see my funds until Wednesday of next week... Thanks for the lies and unnecessary stress. Wal Mart, I will cut off all ties with you from this moment forward.

    In April, Fraudulent activity had taken place through Google Play. A hacker had gained access to my Google Pay account which had my Walmart MoneyCard on file! They accessed $136.99 for an 'app' which had never been downloaded nor purchased by myself on ZERO of my electronic devices. I filed a police report, and even contacted the company Google themselves! They have solid PROOF that the fraudulent user and owner of the app no longer even exists on Google Play, and that the app does not EVEN EXIST! Walmart REFUSED my claim twice, even with this proof from Google and the POLICE report I had personally mailed to Pasadena! They told me over the phone they had not even received them! And to add insult to injury sent me TWO denial notices! I am cancelling my card and getting a real bank account since you do not care about me or my hard earned money!

    I have direct deposit set up through my employer and it has worked fine up until now. I loved that I would get paid 2 days early. Because I have never had an issue with my direct deposit I had auto payments set to come out on my paydays. However my direct deposit seems to be missing and customer service can only tell me that I need to check with my employer because that means they haven’t received it to be able to release it to me. Total bull, call my employer and I have the ability to log in through a portal and my employer submitted my payroll same way and time frame as always. I took a 6 day vacation as today is my birthday but have no access to my funds. I need contacted immediately.

    I purchased the above debit card and paid $50 cash to be added to the account. The card was intended to be for my brother, but after numerous attempts to register the card at WalmartMoneyCard.com, he was unsuccessful. So, I gave him cash and kept the card for myself. Unfortunately, when I tried to register the card, I encountered the same issues he encountered. I entered the card number, the CVV, the last four digits of my SSN and birth date. The response was, “Sorry! We are not able to verify you. Please try again!” I tried at least a dozen times, with the same response. So, I called the number on the back of the card, 877-937-4098. It asked for the card number and my full SSN, but then said it was not valid. It offered NO option to speak with a live person, but just continued in the same repetitive loop until it disconnected me. I had the exact same experience over and over and over again.

    I also tried calling the "Customer Support" number for the issuing bank, Green Dot Bank, at 866-795-7597, but got the same recording with the same result. I tried the Green Dot Bank’s online chat but again was told that they could not help me. I took the card and my receipt into the store where it was purchased but was advised they could not help me either. The manager suggested that I call 877-WALMART, but again, I got caught in an electronic loop, to no avail. I have to wonder exactly what the intention is in having a “Customer Service” line without an option to speak with a live person. They have my $50, and I will not let this go until I get satisfaction. My next step is the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Perhaps they can help me.

    I love that my card allows me access early. My biggest problem is that I had to get a new card and it would not allow me to transfer my earned back cash to my new card. Customer service cannot do a thing to help unlock a card if it's an email or password issue. I looked forward to getting my yearly Walmart cashback.

    1) I have tried multiple times to set up mobile check deposit for months and as of yet still haven't received the email it requires for confirmation.
    2) I recently changed phone numbers and phones and am now locked out of my account and can't get the email for password reset.

    3) It is ridiculous that this is supposed to be a "bank" card yet I get charged more money to put money in my account.

    In essence I will be switching to an actual bank as soon as possible. At least I'll be able to put money in my bank and cash my checks at my bank for free plus have an app that actually works correctly. I would not recommend Walmart MoneyCard to ANYONE. Thank you.     I have been with the Walmart MoneyCard Green Dot bank for 6 years now and have never experienced an issue regarding direct deposit. I have recently changed jobs and have verified the routing and account number (which is correct from my new job) and I did not receive my check. I am extremely outraged! I don’t understand how something so important can be taken lightly. People work hard for their money and should receive their funds on time. No one seem to understand what has happened and I believe that I will have to escalate this issue.

    While I'm still a little unclear about why the proper contact number for this service is not listed on the WalmartMoneyCard site (the one i was just given does not match the one there, interestingly enough,) the speed with which this review was responded to satisfactory. They were not able to answer most of my concerns, given the card's registration to another person in their system (understandable,) however I maintain that the process for card returns ought to be easier and better outlined, and not only obtainable through card registration.

    That being said, the agent who responded was polite, kind and understanding, and should be commended for his work.

    My coworker bought two of these cards by accident believing them to be gift cards. When we realized the mistake, we wanted to return them only to find out that Walmart has a "no in-store return" policy on these items. Apparently they have no return options at all. You cannot get a real human being on the phone, there's no chat option for any kind of real-time assistance, and their faq says nothing about returning the card itself if it was purchased by mistake. Given this isn't the first time I've heard of one of these being mistakenly purchased for gift cards, I know it isn't uncommon.

    Left with no other recourse, we gave the employees they were supposed to go to options to take the card. One of them did. Employee registered the card and attempted to use it, only to be told multiple times that the card was unregistered and unusable. I even watched him register it! We opened the card's account on an app and there's money on the account, but they won't accept it in stores. And again, no options for real help. Walmart needs to seriously rethink Their customer service policies, hire some people, and actually make this consumer friendly. I shouldn't need to resort to bad reviews online in an effort to get a little help. And no, "contact us by mail" is not an acceptable solution in this day and age.

    I have had this card for over three years. I switched from Netspend to Walmart MoneyCard. Now I am shaking my head because I now have to contact the Federal government to start an investigation because I have had instances where companies have refunded transactions and they were pending, and I was told that it would be put back and I never followed up. It just so happens that this instance I was cash strapped and was waiting for this refund, checking the card everyday and it just so happens that I went to sleep with the transaction still pending and woke up to it being totally deleted.

    When I called customer service I was told by the first representative that it was refunded that same day. I had to disprove this lie and she hung up on me. Then when I called back there was a different representative that tried to say the same thing. But after I informed her that I had screenshots of the pending transaction from a day before she stated she would do an audit of the account. After doing an audit of the account they found that my money was missing!! My question is how many other times have this happened?

    Lost my wallet with my card about a week ago. Called to report-replace my MoneyCard and was provided incorrect information. Was told to call back 24 hours later and they would be able to expedite our cards. Not so. They apparently have no way to do this or so we were told. So we wait. In the meantime we have two paychecks that we are unable to access and bills we have to pay, including a car payment that we can't make. We face a potential car repo because this company chooses the slowest possible way to get our cards to us.

    Their customer service is pathetic with little to no compassion for their customers. We chose this product because it was easier than a bank. At least with a Bank I could still access my money for car payments and I don't know maybe groceries and gas????? Once we get this resolved and can access our funds again we are out. A regular bank or even keeping our money in our mattress would be better.

    I am getting my direct deposit sent to WMC. I received confirmation via email and my school that it was sent to WMC 2 days ago. I've called and nothing. All I get is horrible customer service. They hang up on me, disrespected me. They claim to post it when they receive it but I know they received it 2 days ago. They don't want to help me at all.     Love this card for purchases! Love for how you can stash money and I stash with ease. BUT...can’t use with Cash App, Mvelopes, etc etc. This has become very frustrating. I do not want to change, but I need to be able to use a bridge app and transfer money. I keep thinking there must be a way to do this, but have been unsuccessful so far. Anyone else have this issue or know what to do?

    This is my first time using this card for direct deposit and I am highly disappointed. My money is being held and the customer service rep stated the fraud department is reviewing it. I asked why. She stated because of the amount. Told me to wait 4 hours but could not tell me next steps except call back in 4 hours if not lifted. I'm trying to understand the fraud aspect.     I have used money cards many times in the past. Never a problem, I set up direct deposit this time (worst choice I've ever made). I worked overtime last week because I needed the money. They have put my card on suspension because of a suspicious large deposit (from the same employer as usual). I have no access to my funds and every time I call they just say, "Sorry your card is under review due to a suspicious large deposit" and that they need verification, but I ask what verification and they won't answer. They just say, "Sorry again but we dont know how long your card will be on hold..."

    I live check to check so now I'm having to call in to work because I can't even get gas. I've asked to talk to the fraud department, there's no direct line they say, I've asked to talk to a supervisor, they won't give me a Supervisor and say, "I'm sorry but no one can unblock your card." I'll be moving back to traditional bank next week, this is the worst experience I've ever had, I will be telling anyone who asks not to use this card. This is complete nonsense. I could see if there was fraudulent charges, but a large deposit from the same employer as every week causes me to not be able to use my own money? No that's just absurd.

    This is the second time I’ve had problems with Walmart MoneyCard. I live in Louisiana and someone on Houston, Texas took out $303.50 from an ATM on Saturday August 17. I called customer service and filed a dispute but the customer service representative put two charges on my dispute form instead of the one $303.50 ATM charge from Houston. My dispute was denied because of that. I’ve sent multiple emails with the requested information and haven’t received a response. I called again today and had to explain the situation again and another dispute was submitted.

    Now I have to wait another 10 business days from what the customer service rep says until I get an answer. This whole process has been a nightmare! I had to cancel my debit card & couldn’t get any $ from my account until my new card comes in. I can’t understand how someone in Houston, Texas was able to take $303.50 from my account? Also after reviewing my account how can they possibly think I can make a purchase in Baton Rouge, LA & take $ out of an ATM in Houston, Texas within the same hour & not raise red flags??

    Updated on 08/27/2019: Today is August 27th. We reported our card missing the beginning of July and we still don’t have a replacement card. We have to move out of our house on Monday over this nightmare. Today another paycheck was deposited on the card. We are only a few dollars from having 3 grand on a card we can’t use and we have repeatedly been lied to over the phone by call center employees. I went over our contract and it says a replacement card will arrive in 7 to 10 business days, and nowhere did it say a replacement card takes over 60 days to arrive. 60 days that we haven’t had access to one paycheck. Today we were told a card was just mailed out and won’t be here until September 9th 2019. We are officially evicted on Monday. I can’t believe this is still happening.

    Updated on 08/26/2019: Today is August 26th and now we are being told the replacement card we originally ordered the beginning of July is still not on the way. That’s right. We spoke to corporate today and they told us that they don’t have a replacement card on the way to us. This is not okay. By next Monday we will be out on the street. My landlord bent over backwards to give us time to resolve this but she says no way should it still be going on and she’s losing money now and we have to go if we can’t back the 2 months we will owe by next Monday. Yesterday and today my children and myself truly starved and body feels so sick from not having any food. This should not be an issue we are facing because my husband works hard every day.

    At this point I feel like this company either doesn’t understand the magnitude that every penny we’ve earned since July 9th is locked on our Walmart MoneyCard and we are about to lose everything we have worked hard for. To go hungry when you have well over two thousand dollars on a card is hard for others to understand so people aren’t offering us help because the story is hard to believe. The stress this situation has put on my relationship and the frustration.

    Walmart moneycard why can’t we just pay to have a card sent first class mail? You’re a billion dollar corporation. Surely there could be an exception as I feel like this CAN’T be a common situation. If it is I’m not sure how moneycard from Walmart would survive. This nightmare has made it extremely difficult to ever want to have money deposited into an account that I don’t have easy access to. Is a card on the way or has another call center employee given us false hope?! Tomorrow will be another 5 days since we ordered the 4th replacement card and possibly it’s not even on the way?!?! I’m having severe panic attacks!

    Original Review: I’ve called the news. this company refuses to send us a replacement card that we reported lost 2 months ago. We are facing eviction and can’t get our 2500$ off the card that my husband's employer directly deposited on the card. 2 months since we reported it lost and they continue to say it’s on the way and wait 10 business days we are calling once every 2 weeks and hear the same story. We’ve called a lawyer and the local news and tonight 500 of my Facebook friends are going with signs and taking a stand. What kind of company let’s a family with a special needs child lose their home.

    I purchased this debit card to pay my credit cards but the card kept declining my creditors. Some error with the CV number. I got hit for late payments and all customers service could say is, "I suggest you just use your card." I'm extremely upset with Walmart and Green Dot. I'm trying to rebuild my credit but these corporations don't care. And to make things worse they went ahead and got their cut and charged both of my Walmart cards 5$ each. But I can't pay my bills. This card is a scam. Truly a rip-off. Now who's going to call my creditors and explain why they can't get paid.

    If I could have given this a negative Stars I would have. I'm not very pleased with my experience with a Walmart Moneycard for the last 2 weeks now. I have tried to deposit my check and was told through the app that it was going to take seven business days or so and I wasn't very happy with that. I finally gave it a chance here. It is almost 6 days and I'm still have yet to be paid. I've tried calling the number on the back of the card to get in contact with the gentleman Jonathan that I spoke to last Saturday and I continuously get hung up on through the call center or I get told that I'm being transferred to a supervisor and then becomes a busy signal and nobody's there. I'm in the process of possibly considering other avenues other than the Walmart moneycard since I have had it for several years and I'm not very happy with the last two weeks of service that I've gotten from this company.

    After much headache and numerous phone calls the actual Green Dot bank representatives reached out to me. After talking to Green Dot my problem was solved within a week. I really like the WalMart Money card but until they workout the bugs in the card activation process and fix their call center customer service I will not be using it any longer. My original star rating was 1 star and I am now changing to 3 stars because of the help I received from Green Dot. If they had helped in the first place or had a capable call center I am sure I would still be using the card.

    I had the MoneyCard for a couple of years and had very little problems with it, in fact I loved it. I recently requested a new card and received a newer version with a chip. It NEVER worked, I tried activating it through the app and it said “Successful”, it was not! I tried online and it said “Successful”, it was not! I called and talked to probably 20 different reps trying to get some kind of help but they just wanted to send me a new card or transferred me to the phone automated card activation, it said “Successful”, it was not! I was told after many calls and frustration that my problem would be referred to the "IT" dept. and someone would contact me via phone or email, never happened. I called back again, 9 Aug 19 at 4:35 CST and the rep said that she would have a "supervisor" call me within four hours. I asked her, "Are you sure someone will call?" and she said yes. They have a four hour window that they have to call in, NOBODY CALLED!!

    Finally I called Sunday 11 Aug 19 and told them I wanted to close my account and I wanted my money back. They immediately transferred me to a "Supervisor", funny right. “Raphael” (the supervisor that all of a sudden is present for me to talk to) said that I would have to send an email to ** with a copy of my DL and last 4 of my card number to request closure and refund. Here is the kicker, he said it would take two weeks and four business days for my refund to be processed!!! Seriously? I did what he requested and have not received any kind of notification that they received my information or that they are processing the claim. I have been trying for 3 weeks to resolve this, meanwhile I have bills that I used that card for that went delinquent because of this company.     I have been a customer for a long time. On July 26 I requested a new card because it was hacked. I was charged $3 for a new card and told by Walmart it would be here by Aug 8. On Aug 8 no show, call customer service and they said to wait another day and call back. I asked who they set it by first it was FedEx but couldn't give a tracking number. I called FedEx. They said they have no record of package, called back. Told me it was USPS, still no tracking and not on hold at local USPS office. Called back Aug 9. Told them no show and said they would send another on in 7-10 days. I told them I needed it today cause I needed to pay bills as my check had deposited the day before. They said the could only express mail it to me for $15. After I complained that was not right they sent for free.

    On Aug 13 no card. Called. They said it was to come today and if not called back tomorrow. After asking 4 different times I finally got the tracking number for FedEx. Tracked it and it said it was being returned to sender. I called Fedex and they told me it was to be delivered on Aug 12 but enroute the sender request the package to be returned to them. Called customer service and they said they didn't know why it was being sent back but would get in contact with the department who handles the shipping to resend it.

    I have been with the ability to pay my bills by debit card. The customer service is poor and when I asked if I could just reactivate my old card to get my money they told me no. I asked if I could just go and get a new one from Walmart and put it on the account I was told no. Walmart needs to address this and other problems with there system and service. I have been a loyal customer for a long time and this is the first time I have ever had a problem. Maybe I will get a card one day.

    I called Walmart MoneyCard on July 4th after seeing 2 fraudulent charges to Adidas, totalling $650. We were told that there was nothing that could be done until after the charges posted (unlike any banking policy). I requested the card to be replaced on that day. July 12 we saw the charges had posted and immediately called them back to start the dispute process. July 14th we received a notice saying they needed more information however it wasn't required. As I was not in the area I had to wait to send in the documentation until I could get to the 2nd card holder's (my mother) home to get her signature on the paperwork.

    We received a letter dated July 19th saying they had found the charges to be accurate. My mother returned a package fraudulently sent to her house (and incorrectly addressed) the same day FedEx showed up with it (with large letters SCAM), it was returned in July 17th to Adidas (tracking numbers). Adidas would not give any information about where the second package went to, however they did say they would give the info to the banking institute.

    We have not seen a credit for the one purchase that was returned to Adidas. This is a KNOWN scam yet Walmart MoneyCard believes that we made these fraudulent charges, even though their records would show I called prior to the charges releasing and their recordings would show I demanded to speak to supervisors because this should have been dealt with that same day.

    I have sent in their dispute form, along with all supporting documentation (including my call log from my cell phone). I had an awful experience with their regular representatives (including being sent back to the front of the line after I asked to be put to the survey for the poor service I received from the second person I spoke to, first said she had keyboard issues and hung up on me). I will NEVER recommend Walmart MoneyCard.

    A friend purchased this product for me, and set up the account before giving it to me. I have been unable to make purchases, except for two times, for a total of $13, even though $60 was loaded on the card. My friend did not want his information to be disclosed, so he declined the traditional social security verification registration, and completed registration on the telephone with an agent. I am totally amazed he ever spoke to anyone at this company, because I have tried numerous times to bypass the automated system without success. I even started a chat with an agent in hope of resolving this, and he was no help whatsoever, and simply gave me the number to the automated system, telling me to press 4 for a CSR. I did that, and the bot doesn't understand, and hangs up on me.

    I am so disgusted that money intended for me, is in the hands of apparent cons who hide behind P.O. Boxes, and automated systems. That alone indicates you must know how unhappy many consumers are with your product. I have bought other prepaid cards, with no issues, but this card is a joke. I guess if I can't resolve it, the $5 a month fee for being a a privileged cardholder will take care of the remaining $40 or so. I will never purchase a financial product from the Walmart or, Green Dot brand again. There should be laws against corporation holding people's money in undisclosed locations.

    I called to report my card lost. I had to go through the automated system. It did not give me the option to expedite the card. After going through the automated process I called right back to speak to a live person and request the card be expedited. I was told that since I had already requested a card (5 minutes ago) that I would have to wait 24 hours in order to call back and request a NEW card be expedited.

    When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was repeatedly asked "Why?" And then told that I was not able to speak to a supervisor because "They are going to tell you the same thing". I have never experienced such horrible customer service as I have with this card. I like the features of the card but dealing with customer support does not feel very supportive toward the customer. Seems they forget it's MY MONEY and that I AM THE CUSTOMER and should be accommodated accordingly!! Please stop outsourcing these positions to people who barely are able to speak English!

    August 1st had direct deposit on card. Temp card was purchased week before with no issues to make purchase. Once my DD was loaded, the temp card stopped working and customer service told me card was bad and new personalized card was issued. Waiting until August 9th to activate new card. This card won’t activate either because of a “security feature” that can only be lifted by tech support. So this is second card that won’t work and only way to speak to tech support is thru them emailing you. No other way to get a hold of someone or get my money. Been waiting for tech support to email me about why my new personalized card isn’t working. If they don’t fix the security feature on my account NO card will ever work and I am out over $1300!!! I have spoken to over 10 reps and all day same thing “sorry” “card not working” and the latest being problem with activation of card because of security block!

    My card expired in July. I called customer service in June to change my address and to make sure that it would not affect me receiving my new card. I was told that everything was fine and that I would receive my new card with no issues. On Aug 1st I still had not received my card so I called again and reported my card not received through the automated support line. I felt there was some kind of issue so I called again on the 5th to make sure and this time I was told that my first card had already been sent before I called the first time and that it had been sent back and to wait for the card I reported never received. The first customer service rep failed to tell me this information so I was waiting on a card that was never coming. On Aug 8th I called again because I had still not received my card. Now they have said they cannot expedite my card because it's the old version and I'll have to wait until the 19th to receive my card.

    I have no idea if this card is coming. My paychecks are direct deposited to this card and I have no way to access my funds. Communicating with customer service is a nightmare because they barely speak English and I have funds that are being held hostage. The track your card feature in the app doesn't work. I have used this card without issue for quite some time and am very disappointed at the lack of options for resolutions like this.

    Aug. 9th my son purchased a Walmart Moneycard/Green Dot card. After loading $110.00 on it he tried to activate the card. Called the number on the back of the card and was sent a link via text message. After going to the link and filling out all of the required information, the website just continually tried loading. After trying a few times we tried calling the number on the back. After numerous attempts we were finally able to speak to a representative. This "lady" was rude and extremely unhelpful. So next we contacted the store manager at the location that the card was purchased.

    This person said that there was nothing that they could do. I would have expected Walmart as a company that appears to be offering this service to, 1 be more selective in the companies that they let represent them, and 2 to stand behind their customers. It really makes me question why on earth I would ever spend one more of my hard earned dollars with them. I invite you to contact me at ** but I sincerely doubt that anyone will.     I have had my Walmart MoneyCard for a very long time. Last weekend it worked when purchasing items. The very next morning, I went to pick up my blood pressure medication and the card would NOT work. I was informed by phone rep that my card was probably demagnetized or damaged. Of course I had to ask for a replacement. This cost me $3, and I have to wait so long for my card to arrive, my internet service is now on hold. I just would like to know why it takes so darn long for a replacement to be sent? I am without funds, since all I had is on the card.

    I’m tired of trying to speak with a robot. I tried to speak with a representative but no success. I have over 500 on my cards and it’s block. I can’t use it online or anything. I got my Tax money and I load it on numerous card because my bank is not in Kansas and I’m from Florida. You guys activated three of my card and left me hopeless with two cards that I have about a 1000 on. Told me I can only spend it at Walmart in person.     The early deposit system only works if I get paid on Thursdays or Fridays. The mobile deposit is a joke. I very much needed my 401k loan as I had an emergency expense, and it takes them five days or more to deposit the check. I'm still waiting on it to be deposited, and when I talked to customer service, including a supervisor, no one could give me details on the process and why it takes so long. The check is from JP Morgan Chase. It showed up as processing today, but won't be available for four more days. Guess what. I need it way before then. That's the nature of an emergency.

    Customer service was rude to me over the phone and just kept repeating the same lines. I learned from the supervisor that no one in customer service even works at a bank, but rather for Walmart, and there is no way to get in touch with Green Dot regarding this account. When my money is finally in there, I'm removing it as quick as possible and going to another bank. My suggestion is just don't even try to mobile deposit a check you need within a day or two. In fact, don't count on early direct deposit either. Just don't get an account with this card.

    After being a Walmart MoneyCard user for 6 years I have had the worst experience in the last month. My card was damaged so I called and ordered a replacement on July 13th and after almost a month of talking to customer service agents who don't seem to care at all about the fact that I haven't been able to pay my bills or that I have a 8 month pregnant fiancee and I can't get to any of my money to buy food or put gas in my car I still haven't gotten my card or the money out of my account.

    I’ve had a Walmart MoneyCard for several years now, I’ve never had an issue receiving my $75 rewards per year until today! I couldn’t speak with anybody who would directly answer any questions, spoke with 2 agents who tried to tell me my card had a negative balance when it was the complete opposite. I mean you can’t overdraft these cards, and if you do it’s a miracle. Anyways I got off the phone with the reps and look through the past 13 months of transactions and none of the claims they made even make sense, and they were blatant lies.

    The first guy claims I had a $17.10 charge to Trader Joe’s that overdrew me $0.05. I’ve never been to Trader Joe’s, that’s not even in my state! There is no trace of this transaction in my history. He just made it up and hung up on me. I’m closing this account as I bragged on it to EVERYONE about the free $75 for spending money with Walmart. I’ll be placing my money in my traditional bank account. Horrible and unethical customer service!

    I opened a card approximately 6 weeks ago. Had 2 paychecks direct deposited and have never been able to activate my card. I’ve called, emailed, spoke to a supervisor who was going to have tech support look into the problem and until this day no one has gotten back to me nor can I activate or use my card! The only thing I can do is ACH checks! Now this is the 2nd card they've sent me. They're charging me a $5 fee on a card I can’t use! Terrible customer service who lie and basically is holding my money hostage. I’m about to get a lawyer!

    Worst card I’ve ever had in my life. Couldn’t get a part ordered for my car because for some reason Walmart wouldn’t approved the transaction. But transaction was posted from my account. Just in pending status. AutoZone cancelled my order after 4 days of not receiving the money (AutoZone has verified because my bank denied transaction) AutoZone has cancelled my order. I have 3 different order cancellation confirmations. Called Walmart MoneyCard about it, asked to speak to a supervisor because the person literally told me he couldn’t do anything. Apparently there’s no supervision actually there (had to wait 4 hours for a call back because no supervision around) which I never actually got a call back.

    Called again first thing again the morning, got thru to a supervisor this time just for her to continue to talk over me, not listen to anything I have to say, and continue to tell me AutoZone is the reason my money isn’t on my card. Worst customer service experience I have literally ever experienced. EVER. The woman literally argued with me, and wouldn’t listen to what’s going on because I guess “she knew best.” I cannot believe this is the type of people you guys hire to run your customer service. Let alone the fact I can’t get almost $200 back on my card that you guys stole. So to whoever would like to deal with that, be my guest. I’ve been told it will be 2-3 weeks before I can have my money back. Mind you my car isn’t running and that’s the money for my part.

    Updated on 08/08/2019: I needed a replacement card since my wallet had been stolen. Order the first replacement card on July 15th and waited 7 days. No card arrived. Called customer service. They asked me to wait an additional two days which I did. Still no card. Ordered 2nd card July 23rd. Waited approximately 8 business days. Still no card. I had previously asked if there was expedited shipping. They said no. Another call to a service representative I was informed that they did offer expedited shipping.

    It has been almost a month now and I still have no card. All my money's been tied up in their Bank. They refused to expedite a card to me. The latest excuse was that FedEx doesn't deliver in my area. We have a FedEx Hub bustling with activity and bringing packages and envelopes to people all over our area! I have no money that I can access. I have no medicine that I can buy which I've been out for almost a month now. I can buy no food. I can do nothing because they have my money and refused to send me a replacement card.

    Now I have called and they said that the card was issued and mailed today and for the first time I actually got an email verifying this. What's the previous two attempts to get a replacement card I received no emails. Now on my account online there is now Haley to track my card's progress being delivered to me. Previously there was nothing like this. However the rep said that it would be standard mailed which has no tracking.

    It is painfully obvious to me and my family that there is mass confusion at their call center. Their people do not know what company policy is or what they can do or can't do. I have asked to speak to a supervisor on two different occasions. The first rep said no I could not speak to a supervisor, that they were all out in the hallways whatever that means. The 2nd rep said they would expedite my card to me which the next day a different rep. Said they would not. I am so done with this. I'm taking all my money out and shredding this card if I ever get a card to get my money and I'm going to file a complaint with the Louisiana State Attorney General's office under the consumer affairs division. How can a company hold your money and you hostage like this?

    Original Review: My wallet was stolen 4 weeks ago. I ordered a replacement card and was charged 3 dollars. They said the card would arrive within 7 business days. On the 7th business day no card. I call to see if what could be done as all my money was in this account and there was no way to get to my money but by the card per customer service. I also asked rep if they would expedite another card to me at my expense. The rep said no, they do not offer that. The rep advised me to give the card 2 additional days to come in. I did and no card. I ordered a second card and called and spoke to a different rep.

    I asked about expedited shipping of the second card and was told they do offer expedited shipping for a 15 dollar charge. I said I would wait to see if the second card would get here timely but I was not happy that I could not go to a local Walmart and withdraw funds with proper ID. 5 biz days and still waiting. Can’t access money. Can’t buy groceries, medicine, gas, pay Bills. NOTHING....

    In April of 2018 I had my taxes deposited on my Wal-Mart card. I used my card TWICE and then I put it up for "rainy day" savings. I had over $5000 on the card... AND IT'S MISSING. $5k just gone! I was told by a representative that it was a purchase made for $5200 at an auto sales dealership! And it was AUTHORIZED!! Who was it authorized by, because I don't have a car!

    I thought I was doing a responsible thing by saving my money for hard times like now. But, thanks to Walmart's unsafe card and fake authorizations, I have no money to pay my medical bills which are on my credit now! I also have no money for school shopping for my children or for my brother's baby shower. I'm hurt, sad and embarrassed, but most of all I'm angry at myself for trusting this card to reserve that amount of money for me.

    I have been using Walmart MoneyCard for my direct deposit roughly 2 years, and have not had any issues until recently. I had a disputed transaction from a hotel room that was not authorized on my card. When I finally received a letter stating that the amount would not be reversed, and that they could send supporting documents why the decision was made. I called customer service, and was told that the decision was finalized, and there were nothing that could be done. I went back and forwarded stating that the letter clearly stated that Walmart MoneyCard could provide these documents. To this date I have not heard anything from them. Secondly I had a security deposit placed on my card, and after I check out of a recent hotel stay it was supposed be credited back to my card immediately. It has been over a week in pending status, could someone please explain why does it take so long.

    I love this card. Me and bank accounts do not get along but this card has been my primary for over 5 years. I love the early payday.. I love the $75 cash back I get every year.. I loved everything about it. Until I was recently scammed out of almost $100. The customer service rep seemed to say everything like it was scripted. Based on their terms you should receive your money back in 10 business days. Not only has it been over 10 business days but I haven’t got an email or anything about this fraudulent charge. I’ll be looking elsewhere for another debit card that actually cares about their long time customer being ripped off. :(

    I love the easy app set up and the vault helps you put money away. Me and my wife both have one and if one of us is short at a check out line we can instantly transfer funds to each other. Only thing I don't understand is everyone at my place of employment gets their direct deposit a day or two early but I don't. I still get mine on Friday while everyone else gets paid on Thursday. I'm also the only one with a Walmart MoneyCard. A couple guys have NetSpend and they get their's on Thursday too. Is there a reason why this is.

    I mobile deposited a payroll check that I get every two weeks they decided to hold it for 6 days due to it needs to be reviewed more.... it doesn’t make sense every time you talk to someone on the phone they don’t speak English and can never have a direct answer. All they say is sorry.... Most banks release some funds when you deposit a check but Walmart hold the whole check when they know it’s a payroll check.

    Walmart MoneyCard is not a bad card but it is easy for hackers to get your money off your card. I had this card for a minute now. It was good but soon as my payroll hit a few weeks ago on July 3, 2019 someone hacked it and tuck my hard working money off which was my rent money. I call Walmart MoneyCard service to disrupt it. They denied it. I don't see how they did that. My payroll of 504.13 went on my card. A few hours later someone pay a bill for the same amount posted. I can't see how they don't see that was a hack. All I'm saying y'all be careful for large amount add to your card cause they don't care. They will not give it back and that not fair. I'm behind in rent and it just like I worked hard for free so please be careful again.

    I have been a MoneyCard holder for 3 years. I've had an issue before with my card being cancelled without my authorization abt 2 years ago, so I began using my card less. I decided to start back having my paycheck direct deposited for the convenience of an early payday, big, huge mistake on my part. I had some fraudulent activity on my account and needed to have my card replaced. Was told it would take 7 business days to arrive, it's day 15 and 3 days beyond the expected delivery date. If you have NO debit card you cannot access your money at all.

    Green Dot bank has no resources or avenues to offer in the event of emergency situations. No recourse to assist with giving you access to your funds. Nothing at all. You can't walk into a Green Dot bank branch and withdraw money, if you were stranded and lost your card...you are definitely up a creek without a paddle. I can't understand how this company especially with the glitches and issues they've had, have not created a contingency plan to assist customers with access to funds in emergency situations?

    All the reps are trained to do is apologize, and tell you what CANNOT be done. If you want to speak with a supervisor it will NEVER happen. I've been waiting on hold for over an hour with the rep telling me that there is no supervisor available to help me, but a supervisor can call me back when they become available. I opted to wait on hold until one was available although I'm more than assured that my issue has no resolution with these horrible practices and procedures this bank has in place.

    I've had a Walmart MoneyCard for many years now. It is so convenient getting direct deposit (many times a day early) and transferring money with others who also have a money card. The transfers are usually immediate and reliable. My most recent transfer however was not. It has been over two hours and I'm still waiting for my funds to appear in my account. The first time I contacted customer service, I got disconnected. The second time I was told that they were doing maintenance and to check my account periodically throughout the day. That's really frustrating and disheartening not to mention stressful. This isn't the first time this has happened but hopefully it will be resolved sooner than later.

    I thought I lost my card... so called for a replacement! Ok boom order is in. Next thing I know my son finds my card under the car seat. What relief but now I have a card on the way. So I called back to see if I can cancel the order. Ok so I couldn’t cancel the order. Ok that’s fine. My issue is... why can't I manage my money through my account number? Ok... Everyone keeps saying nobody can help me with this situation... not even The supervisor who they said was going to contact me and never did! You would think they would give you a temporary card like they do when you become a new member!! I’m highly upset and I need more answer and better customer service!!! Should I go to Walmart and get a card there? However that will be ANOTHER $3.... This is a huge unnecessary inconvenience!! If this company needs help, I will gladly email my resume!

    I have really enjoyed my Walmart money card up until my funds got stuck in the vault. I called the number on the back of the card to be told they can not get my funds out of the vault. Every time I try to access my funds I go online to sign in and they supposed to send a verification code to verify its my account to my email. Well I never receive the code which means I can not log in to transfer my vault funds to the actual card which they basically stating they can not do anything on their end. I'm very frustrated I've called over ten times at this point. I might look into suing this company. Work hard for my money and I really should be able to spend it as needed.

    I would recommend the card. I got it around Thanksgiving so I could put away money for surprise Christmas gifts for my wife, without purchases right out our joint account tipping her off. I decided to keep using it for purchases made from my phone, because I guess I'm still a little paranoid about attaching my bank account to a phone. It's really convenient to be able to put money on it at any Walmart, but you can add money at a lot of locations, including Family Dollar, and Dollar General, admittedly for a higher fee.

    This is my first time using this card for direct deposit and I am highly disappointed. My money is being held and the customer service rep stated the fraud department is reviewing it. I asked why. She stated because of the amount. Told me to wait 4 hours but could not tell me next steps except call back in 4 hours if not lifted. I'm trying to understand the fraud aspect. I typed MY into my employer payroll system and it was deposited. What are you looking for? I need a supervisor to contact me asap. The rep stated she did not have a supervisor. I find that hard to believe. They need empathy training. Telling me you understand does not solve anything.

    My wife bought a Walmart MoneyCard hoping to use it to help us with our budget. She missed to $5.00 a month service fee in the small print on the packaging. I registered the card online but was unable to load money onto the card online. The website instructed me to use their app. I loaded their app and put in my card info and was informed that I could not manage the card using the app. I went to Walmart and spoke to the lady at the finance desk. She told me she could not help me with the money card. She also told me that she has heard nothing but frustrated people when it comes to the card and their support. I contacted their support using the number on the card. It is a automated system that has no option to cancel the card and no option to speak to a live person.

    I found a different number to call and finally contacted their support. It is located in the Philippines and has no office in the US. It is almost impossible to understand or communicate with them. I did manage to get a few things handled but still have a card that they say they can not cancel. I have submitted a formal complaint.     Even when you draw money from an atm, the atm itself has a fee for withdrawing money. Then the card has to take a fee for itself as well. Instead of a fee of about $2.50 to $3 which is normal I end up loosing $5 to $6, that is just robbery. Also I just had $30 come up disappearing on my card as well. When I check all my transactions I can not find where the money has gone. This isn't the first time for this to happen either. Other than those 2 issues the card is good.

    At first when I signed up for the Walmart money card I was a little skeptical but after sticking with them for a few months I realized it was good and safe service/bank to go with.     There’s fees that have been added and taken out of my account with no reason. When I deposit money and use the card for transactions there are always discrepancies of “fees” that get taken out. My transaction history is not accurate and it never depicts the right amounts. The deposits and transactions don’t add up and there’s no way of me being able to track the differences. I’m truly disappointed because this card should be used as an alternative to regular banking.     I am satisfied but could use some adjustments. It would be nice to have a chip on the card cause I have to get a new one every few months, and in order for me to get a replacement card they have to pause the account till the new one comes in the mail. And I have to buy a new card set up new account and do another direct deposit which makes it really annoying. Also most ATM do not work with it and I can't pay for gas at the pump always have to walk in. And It is not compatible apps like venmo and cash app so it makes it difficult to transfer money electronically. Thank you!

    I didn't have any problems for the first 1 1/2 years. When I switched companies I worked for I had nothing but problems. My pay period was every two weeks and had to wait three. It is difficult almost impossible to reach a live customer service representative. Some changes should be made in that area. If you want to do business like a bank you should at least somewhat act like one.

    I like how with Walmart MoneyCard, I'm guaranteed to get my paycheck a couple of days earlier. Also, I'm not able to overdraft, which helps me out ‘cause I’ve had stuff set up to be taken out. When I had a bank account, they took the payment out when the account was supposed to be set up to where it couldn’t be overdrafted, but still it did. However, I would like my Walmart MoneyCard better if I wasn't paying at least $3.74 at Walmart to reload it. With other Green Dot cards it doesn't charge me extra to reload. I buy the reload thing and it's 20 bucks is the minimum I can reload. Still, with WMC, I've had no difficulties. It's the best experience I've ever had with any bank account.

    I have had these cards before in the past and never had a problem before they have blocked the card and when I called I was told I could use the card the next morning then when I asked to speak to her supervisor he told me I had to send a copy of my DL and the pay stub from deposit. Was told it would take 2 business days. Well I called again 3 business days later and was told their system can't read my docs because I scanned them and was told to take pictures and resend to. Have to wait another 2 business. Meanwhile I can't access my funds. Customer service is horrible. Can never get a straight answer from them and can't understand much of anything they say. After I resolve this issue I will never use MoneyCard again.

    Horrible, horrible, horrible card and service. Their saving grace for the longest was that I would get paid most pay periods a day or two early, but at this point I'm just gonna close the account and find another prepaid card that offers the very same service. You can't get a hold of anyone real when there's a problem. They insist on using automation and will have you writing letters rather than actually speaking to you on the phone or through a chat server. I've had issues where I couldn't access my account because they were doing something on their end, and I had money in my vault that I needed to get to. Couldn't get a hold of anyone to help me in those cases.

    Right now, I have a transaction that I would like to dispute over a merchant who has been holding funds since the moment I clicked complete order, and now almost two weeks later they still haven't refunded me the money for an item they said they no longer have in stock... Instead of letting me speak to a live person about my concerns over my missing funds, Walmart MoneyCard wants me to write a letter. Oh, and another thing. What made them think it was a good idea to start listing my available funds at the bottom of my receipts? I'm at the drive thru window at Taco Bell, and some kid is handing me my food with my receipt telling me how much money I have left to spend. Restaurants, malls, convenience stores, etc., all know my business because they for some reason thought that was a good idea.

    I received my paycheck via direct deposit onto this Wal-Mart Money Card 7/15/19. I only get paid twice a month and my check is not much. I went to use my card and was declined. I called customer service and was told there was a 4 hour block on my card due to the large amount of the deposit (It was a little over $1000) and that my direct deposit information was under review. The male customer service representative told me his name was Judy. He refused to answer any of my questions and would not let me speak to a supervisor. He ultimately hung up on me. I called back and once again had to speak with 'Judy.' Still no help, no supervisor, and no answers. I am so upset and disappointed. I can't wait to go to work and cancel my direct deposit from this card. I have never in my life experienced anything like this. Utterly ridiculous.

    Walmart MoneyCard is a great card. I use it strictly for direct deposits. I have all of my paychecks go into that card and then I just disburse the money to my checking account. I don't have to carry cash with it and I earn cash-back if I shop at Walmart.com. It's also convenient to get my paychecks early with it. The only thing that I don’t like is that we don’t have the ability to attach it to our Zelle. But that has something to do with the laws on prepaid cards, so it may not be Walmart MoneyCard's fault. Other than that, I've had the card for five years and my experience has been good so far. I'll recommend it.

    Hello. So I purchase Walmart MoneyCards to make Amazon purchase and to pay bills online or shop at fast food. So I went this week to get a card, loaded it with $400 dollars and go to register it and some crap pops up that it couldn't verify my identity. So I call the number and have a horrible experience with the customer service staff about how I can't use my card for anything but in person transactions and they will not be sending me a personalized card blah blah. So I go to Amazon, make 3 purchases. Also go to Taco Bell and then try and pull money off. No go. Multiple stores and calls to the card with zero help. Needless to say I will NEVER use this card again. Almost done with Walmart altogether. This is crap. Signed up for a callback. Never got it. Supervisors don't exist in Walmart and the ladies in customer service at Walmart won't even try to help. It's just a lost cause to them. They got the $5 startup.

    I have been requesting a new card for over 6 months and still haven’t received it. Meaning that I have made multiple requests for new cards and never received any of them. Now I can’t get into my account anymore because I’m locked out for getting my password wrong and you need the card number to reset the password.     This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. This is the 3rd time they have held my money hostage under pending transactions and this was for a transaction that wasn't even authorized. My gym tried to charge me an extra $10 and when I went to sign the authorization I told them it wasn't the right amount. They charged me the price it was supposed to be and I signed the authorization. I checked my account and it showed both transactions pending. After contacting my gym of course it was because Wal-Mart MoneyCard was holding my money. When I tried to contact them all they would say is it's going to take 2 weeks and there's nothing I can do. I told them it was obviously a double charge and it needed to be removed. I tried to talk to a supervisor and she told me none could be found and hung up on me in mid conversation. Absolutely horrible!

    Won't let you talk with a supervisor and holding your money hostage under a pending transaction. I certainly don't have an extra 50 just laying around that I can hold off for 2 weeks. I am a single mother and it's absolutely ridiculous that they can and would do this underhanded activity. When they can tell it's not an authorized transaction it should be released. It says they would take a shorter time giving you the money back if someone sent through the transaction as opposed to it just being pending. Makes no sense whatsoever. Very upset with absolutely no one to voice your problems to.

    I've been with this company for over six years. I don't understand why there isn't any other method than having to remember a phone number from so long ago...just to have access to your account. There should be another method that can be used. After being with the same company for so many years, I'm in need of filing a dispute for transactions I did not purchase and I'm unable to do so, because I cannot recall a my phone number from more than 6 yrs ago.     Updated on 07/16/2019: Walmart MoneyCard customer service and the corporate office are horrible. They denied my disputes 4 times and claims they contacted the merchant that was on my account and they never did. I wouldn’t recommend Walmart MoneyCard to anybody and as many times I shop with my card I don’t have any rewards either. The worst ever. They also claim they can’t credit my account for unauthorized transactions when they can.

Representative from Walmart MoneyCard said nobody contacted the company to verify anything. The number that was on my account I contacted them and they said Walmart MoneyCard never called them.     Walmart MoneyCard has the cheapest fees among prepaid debit card providers. Everybody else was charging $10 so I went with WMC. I've had it for two years going on three and I've been using it for direct deposit. With it, I can pay bills and make online purchases. Whenever I do my taxes, I get them put directly on the card. However, I had an issue as somebody charged me a $250 cleaning fee and took it off my card. I wanted to get it back but I figured Walmart MoneyCard's team won't be able to get my money back so I never tried calling them. Still, I love the card and it has made everything a whole lot easier.     Do not buy this card 'cause I bought it and put 400.00 dollars on it and was told to register it and I have tried every day since and today is the 5th of July and it still can't be registered and can't use my money. I want my 400.00 dollars back so I can use it.

    Hotel released funds and card kept the hold on there for a ridiculous amount of time. Even after the joke of a customer service agent and I spoke with the hotel, in which we were informed by the hotel that the release was processed when I checked out, the customer service rep still proceeded to tell me there would be a hold on my account for 6 more days. Very inconvenient, especially when my regular credit card gets released the minute I check out. I don’t think the customer service agent has a clue as to what holding on to a couple of hundred dollars can do to your wallet. The hotel told this idiot that the funds were released on the 27th of June, and they still won’t release my funds.

    In addition, I filed a dispute for some charges where someone must have gotten access to the laptop I’d made purchases on before. By the 23rd day of turning all paperwork in, I decided to call the merchants myself. I receive notification that the dispute had been denied because the charges were valid. Yet 2 of the charges I disputed were found to be under someone else’s email by the merchant in which they promptly apologized and I had the money back that night.

    How is it that I do the investigation, and the merchant immediately recognizes it as fraud? Yet the card company’s idiots in India must be investigating sightings of Godzilla or the 2nd coming of their god Kali, because it took me less than 5 minutes on the phone with the merchant for the merchant to discover that it was indeed someone else’s account. I was told that ALL CHARGES WERE VALID, YET I WAS ABLE TO PROVE THAT 2 OF THEM WERE NOT. I wouldn’t recommend this card to anyone outside of a prison. Maybe in prison they can use it, but out here, they just hold your money and let anyone use your card when you dispute it and don’t even care. The customer service agent asked me for supporting documentation. I asked him, "What the hell else do I have to give you, it’s not like I have receipts of where I did not purchase something online." Are they stupid? Or should I say, incompetent.

    I use the card for my kids mostly, so I can track their expenses without giving them my debit card or credit card. I’ve had Lyft rides at 3am in the morning in Huntsville where a woman actually took the ride. Last I checked, I am a man. Not to mention the fact that I can’t stand Lyft because their cars are horrible and old. I’m out over 50 just for the holds, and 300 to Priceline, of which were used on someone’s else’s account as well. I think I’m going to call the banking commissioner on Monday to get this straightened out the real way. I’m tired of dealing with incompetent idiots when the problem is easily resolved. They just don’t want to do their jobs.

    I am so over the stupidity I deal with with this card, I have had the same card and same acct for years and direct deposit every Thursday except for TODAY (4th of July) and any time Thursday is a holiday I don't get my pay! I am over this and I guess I waited too long to move on but today I am officially done and getting a different card. On top of this issue I paid a doctor back in July and they stated they never got the 50 and I have now been sent to collections and can't get my 50.00 back because customer service does not care and won't assist me at all. I am out 50.00 and now I have to repay the doctor. It was taken off my card and they never got it. There is no support for any of this. There are other cards that I can take my business to and hopefully have a better experience and better support with my concerns.

    I bought a Walmart Moneycard and put over 400$ in it and I cannot use it, and I tried to get a refund and the customer service people just transfer me to the automated system so they don’t have to deal with the problem, so now the money is in the card and can’t be used at all, I don’t know what else to do.

    I just love this card. I'm able to do everything that people with regular bank accounts can do. I also love that I can get paid two days early. I just wish that I didn't get hit with atm fees twice when there is no Green Dot approve bank close by.

    I absolutely love my Money Card and the cash back I get when I use my card at Walmart! I wish the cards were better looking and not so cheap. But I love the app, it's easy to operate also! I recommend people that do not have banking account or can't get one, to get Walmart Money Card!

    Walmart MoneyCard have the worst customer service department and representatives I’ve ever experienced, not to mention this Arkansas headquartered company that sent their customer service duties to foreign countries, sad and disgraceful when we have so many Americans needing work. I have asked to speak to a manager or supervisor several times over several days to no avail. I’ve been denied, transferred to the automated service, hung up on or placed on hold for upwards of 20 minutes and then transferred to the end of call survey. Please tell me how is this even legal or ethical to be denied a manager or supervisor upon request. My next direct deposit scheduled for July will be canceled today and I’ll be using another company. I also won’t be shopping in their stores anymore.

    I’ve called the number on the back of the card and it doesn’t give me an option to cancel the card! I’ve also gone to the website and it’s no help either! It doesn’t even give me and option to talk to someone. Walmart is also no help.

    I originally got the Walmart MoneyCard because I thought it would be a good card to make purchases with and pay bills with. I made a purchase at the beginning of May from a company. And after I hadn't received my products or shipping information after a couple of weeks, I contacted the company via email. I actually corresponded with the company several times before they ghosted me. I searched for the company on Instagram and it was gone but when I put in the name a thread came up of other scammed consumers. Most people said they contacted their bank and their bank refunded the money. (Sounds like customer service!) When I called Walmart, they basically asked me did I have all the emails, how it happened, etc. Of course I had the paper trail.

    The first contact gave me the phone number he had listed for the company. I called and it gave an email. I emailed a couple times...NO RESPONSE! I called Walmart back today and was told I am out of $68.94 because they don't cover their customers for purchases that were originally authorized. I regret even getting this card and should have used my original bank account. At least I would be covered for this purchase. If you want a company who backs their customers who spend money with them and insures their customers...THIS IS NOT IT! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!
