We registered this card and Walmart said they would not take it. Called support line, waited forever, and was told we could not get a refund because we had already registered our card and we paid a $5.00 fee to use a $50.00 card. Read the fine print because they don't tell you this at Walmart!!!

I haven't had any issues with Walmart MoneyCard until now but my first experience has been awful. I tried to pay one of my bills and the company who processes charges for my electric company denied it based on no authorization. However, this caused the bill amount to get stuck in the pending process. I've talked to Walmart MoneyCard customer service 5 times over a week and the charge processing company and the electric company multiple times.
The charge and electric company both say nothing shows on their records. The only company that has it showing is Walmart/Green Dot and they tell me it will come back on my card before the 19th. It's been pending since the 6th. One Walmart customer service representative said it would take 48 hours and took my number down upon my request of confirmation that this would happen by corporate. She said they would contact me in 3-4 hours to confirm. That never happened. Most banks standard time for a return of pending charges is 5 days. Walmart says 2 weeks and that's ridiculous. I had to pay my electric bill a second time while waiting for my original payment to return and it still hasn't. The second payment went through fine but paying my bill twice because of a problem on the first payment is a problem.

Someone used a big amount of my Christmas money in TX. They did it on Dec 2 2019. I called to dispute the charge and they said I can't file a complaint until the charge is not pending anymore. I check every day and it's still pending and Christmas is getting closer! I got this card to put my Christmas money on so I WOULDN'T lose it and I could order online. This is very upsetting waiting for something to be done so I can have my money back. I work and have kids, I just want my money back so I can go on with my Christmas plans. Thank you.

I like the vault feature and then being able to lock your card, which helps to make sure that nobody is accessing your account. It’s safe. I also get my check a little bit early on the card. I don’t have to interact with them often, but when I do, they’re always helpful. I’ve never had any issues using the card online. But to make online purchases, you have to wait until you get your personalized card in the mail. Other than that, it's easy to reload. Another good thing about the card is it’s free to pull your money off if you need to withdraw. You can get your money and you don’t get charged ATM fees.

Updated on 11/13/2019: So an update on this review. When I woke up today there was a charge for like 11 cents and 34 cents on my account that is supposedly frozen and locked! For some kind of fee! Once again Green Dot Bank I shouldn't be paying any fees for your mistake and poor security! I tried some different ways to get a hold of a member of management that could help me and once more unsuccessful. I was so busy before work this morning trying to talk to someone that it made me late for work!
They stated on this review that they tried to call me but I didn't answer! Well first off the first time you called me before work my phone rang once and they hung up! This is exactly what other people have reviewed Green Dot Bank doing. They state they tried calling but they really only let it ring once then hang up so you can't answer! They play this game with you so you'll eventually just give up!
They want you to keep calling back and they will simply tell you, "Sorry you have to wait for a call back again within four hours" and they will continue this cycle until you give up. They have done it to multiple people! It's all over the internet in their reviews. When I got off work tonight I checked my phone and there was a missed call again but this time with a number and extension on my voicemail. So I will call and try again in the morning one last time to resolve this. I bet they will play some kind of phone tag game with me still. I'm sure of it.
I spoke to my General Manager today at my work to stop my direct deposits into this Green Dot Bank account because they are a horrendously insufficiently ran and secured business that I don't trust with my money! I will let everyone know tomorrow on a public review not private what happens! Below is what I responded to Green Dot Bank with after they tried calling me when I was working as I stated to them early this morning. I posted it here because you can only reply in private and I want everyone to see in public what is really happening!
"Listen to me I don't want this to be private! That is why I have posted it on this website and many others. You people at Green Dot Bank are a JOKE!!! Yes you did call me today when I told you I was working!!! Take the time to read what I said before you respond. I work a lot 50 plus hours a week so you won't be able to reach me when I'm working. I am a single parent. I pay the bills of two people. I don't have another helping me so I work a lot. Why can't you people understand this and let me talk to someone when I'm able to talk? Instead you let me talk to these customer service reps you hire to just repeat to me over and over what they are scripted to say like robots. I just got done working a 13 hour day. I will call you in the morning but this will be the last time I will try to resolve this because I'm done playing your childish games green dot employees. I don't have time for games!!!"
Original: I was a happy customer for about a year with only the problem of the card either not having a chip or not functioning properly in some card readers which became inconvenient at times but I overlooked it because of the minimal fees the card charges and the fact that I always have cash on me. If you're a person who puts all their money in an account DO NOT USE GREEN DOT! The pros are that the card is almost free if you deposit over $1000 a month and did cash back at Walmart when you purchased items through a checkout for cash. So that you bypass the EXTREMELY HIGH FEES! The cons the cash back rewards take a YEAR to come back to you but in only monthly increments that coincide with that previous year's month cash back that you accumulated and the fees are high REALLY HIGH if you try to use it at an ATM.
The real reason I'm writing this review is to let you as a consumer know the BIGGEST CON about this Green Dot Bank company credit card. Yesterday I received a mobile notification that an African cable company made a transaction. Now I'm a United States of America citizen who resides in Florida. I don't own a visa or passport and have never left the country ever and has only left Florida once in my 40 years of life and that was years ago. Somehow the security of this card is next to nothing and that's only the beginning of the nightmare. The African cable company made a second withdrawal from my debit account within the time I noticed the first and was trying to take care of it.
Now I got nervous! How does a person living in Florida purchase entertainment that is only offered in an African television company? Obviously Green Dot saw nothing wrong with that or suspicious especially around Christmas time the biggest fraud time of the year! I locked my card. Went to Walmart to get as much money out of my account before I called them and froze my account. I called the customer service number to let them know that fraudulent charges were happening on my card because they obviously can't do their job of protecting my money like every other bank account I've ever had has done. I asked to speak with a supervisor to make sure this wouldn't happen again to me or any other customer and to find out how in the world an African only cable company even was able to process a transaction through my American account.
When I had a real bank and I left the county once and tried to use my debit card that REAL bank froze my account. Yes that was an inconvenience but not as bad as fraud and the stress and inconvenience that causes on a person especially around the holidays and to a single parent like myself. Well Green Dot told me I'd have to wait up to four hours to speak with a supervisor and my new card will be shipped in 7-10 business days. I told them I'm really busy and don't have four hours to wait today. Their answer was, "Try calling back another day when you do." I lost it! I demanded to speak with a supervisor immediately and they repeated themselves. I hung up and decided I'd just call on the weekend when I had four hours I might be able to free up in my busy single parent schedule.
The last part is what really got me when I woke up this morning the following day there was a three dollar charge for a new card! They never told me about a charge for a new card! I didn't lose it or leave my card for some thief to steal the numbers. This was their fault not mine! So it's not the three dollars that is the problem. It's that a company that let a charge happen on another continent because of their poor security charged me anything after what I had been through!
I would highly recommend NO ONE get this card ever!!! Also I have a friend I recommend the card to and he has since cut it up because of multiple issues with it. So after this experience I decided to look online and we aren't the only people experiencing terrible horrific stories of poor customer service and security! Do yourself a favor and get a REAL BANK account. DO NOT BUY GREEN DOT ANYTHING!!! When I get my new card I'm withdrawing any money left and closing my account to get a REAL BANK ACCOUNT with a reputable business that cares about the customer!

I have never in my life been given such a run around about my replacement card. My old card expired the end of last month. During that time, I have called their "customer service" to be told not once but twice that a replacement card would be expressed shipped to me at the cost of $15.00. Not once did a card come to me in that method. Called them AGAIN today to be told they could ship me one express, but never gave me an answer as to why the other two were never mailed out.
They then changed their tone midway through the conversation by telling me no they cannot ship me a new card that way and that I will have to wait for the one ordered standard shipment. Talk about changing the rules of the game 3 sentences later. When I called them on why I kept getting "I'm sorry" as an answer. I have used this card for years. It is time to move to another carrier. Someone who can give clear and concise answers and will provide actual customer service. Meanwhile can someone help me pay my bills until an actual card is in my hands?

I have had my Walmart Money Card for about 3 years now. Up until now my problems were usually resolved with minor issues. About a week ago my wallet was stolen and I contacted an agent through the online chat to cancel that card. Due to my location we only have P.O Boxes but this can be bypassed by adding an extension to the end of the zip code (for example **). The agent said ok she did and my replacement card would be here in 7-10 business days. I again stressed that the extension at the end of the zip code was necessary or it would not be delivered to me the postal service would send it back. She again assured me it would be there by the 10th day. Day 9 I received a notification that it was at my local post office. So I called to the post office and the postmaster told me nothing was there.
Called the walmart Money Card customer service number and was told that the extension number had not been added and they were unable to add this in their Systems. They apologized for any inconvenience. I explained that this was not going to be an acceptable response because $600 + of my money was already in and being deposited into the account through direct deposit and now I had absolutely no way of accessing my money and we are two weeks away from Christmas. She again apologized and said there was nothing she could do. I then asked her to speak to her manager. She politely obliged and about 5 min later (Chelsea **) gets on the phone.
I explain to her the situation where she also tells me there is nothing she can do as they cannot send to a P.O Box. Which I explained to her she can use my physical address she just has to use the extension at the end of it. I’m sorry is not an excusable reason as to why I can’t get my debit card sent to my home address and why I haven’t been able to access my money In 10 days because there is no other way to get your money when you don’t have your card. I explain to her that they have added the extension in the past and I they just had to manually do it. She then tells me there is nothing she can do for me while cutting me off while I’m talking and she is over talking me. Telling me she will cancel the card and she could only add an apartment or unit number so I told her to put the extension as the unit number in hopes that it will actually make it to my house.
I will have to pay the replacement fee of $3 dollars. Which I told her was already taken from my account. I was not paying it again. She said it wasn’t her fault I lost my card and I was going to have to pay the fee no matter what. At this point I ask to speak to her supervisor which of course was not in the office to which she tells me there was nobody else and when I asked her her last name she mumbled off a set of numbers and told me I had to wait another 7-10 days then hung up on me!
Now I have had this problem before so I have two accounts one which has not been active in a while. But Chelsea cancelled that account instead of the one that was originally on its way. So I tried to call back and here’s the best part you can’t get through to talk to an agent without your card number. If my card was cancelled and I’m waiting on a replacement I can’t enter a card number. So I have to wait another 10 days (20 total) to get to my money in my account and that’s assuming it actually makes it to my address which without that extension at the end it will probably not. The customer service was rude and lacks the knowledge of conflict resolution and when they don’t really seem like they want to work. When I receive or if it’s not here by 10 days I will be cancelling my account and adding to this review. Very disappointing and not worth the hassle!!

I had a discrepancy with my account. I was on the phone for AN HOUR. I walked with 3 people before the 4th person I spoke to verified the information I was giving them. When I asked to be reimbursed the $22.50 that was taken by the company, I was transferred to a 5th person to fill a dispute. That person then told me they have no authorization to fix my account and I need to call and talk to someone at a Walmart store. HORRIBLE and will be losing my business and will be telling anyone who asks NOT to use Walmart MoneyCard!!!

I didn't know my wife's check could not be deposited into my account and we did that it froze my account and we nor the employer could access the check. We have been emailing them everything thing they ask for since February 2019 and still have not gotten access to the money. Every few days it's, "We need something else" or "We didn't get those documents to the right person yet" but yet they still take the 5 dollar a month charge out of the account every month even though we can't get access to the money. They are still getting their fee. I wouldn't recommend this card to anyone. If you need a premium pay card go to Netspend. They are 100 percent better.

When I first got the card I was getting my direct deposits 2 days early. Then it started coming 1 day early. Now I haven’t received it at all. Every time I call they say they have not received it. However once it finally shows up... it will show that it posted 2 days early, which is not correct. This practice is very misleading...

Walmart Money Card is bull. For one say get paid two days early and you dont. You get paid a day early... And the other concern I had money removed from account from a Walmart store Ma for 254 dollars. Called to dispute it and they say it's nothing they can do about it until it's clear. I dont understand why they can't put a stop process on it. Cancelling my card and going back to Netspend. Dont get Walmart card. It's a RIP off. They let unauthorized people go in your account.

Walking into Walmart one day, I heard about MoneyCard and got it because it’s convenient for me. It makes it easy to save up money through the app, but they could make it a bit easier to reload. Also, when I’m trying to pay to use Uber, it gives me a hard time and I haven’t been able to use it. It’s okay though. The card is great.

Everything is good and easy with the card. The reps are usually pretty professional and they take care of everything promptly. The card is convenient to use. There's Walmart everywhere to load money up. Also, the check comes in two days earlier. But the withdrawals could be larger.

I am very disgusted that my dispute was denied with no valid reason. I called constantly to see what I could do to help but I was always pushed off until the next day. They waited until day 10 to deny me, but then I read the policy & saw why, after 10 business days they must refund the disputed amount!!! HA! I am so disappointed.

I called in to check on my cash back rewards because I finished my year and had a positive balance like the terms say in the agreement, but it said I only completed 10 months out of twelve. I called and the rep told me I had occurred a negative balance in October so I had to maintain two months more with them. That's not what the website says. It literally says I just need to "have a positive account at that time". I asked when I had a negative balance, and it was in October when Green Dot had a big delay in all its customers direct deposits. My cable bill overdrafted because I didn't get my paycheck on time when I've been getting it at 4 am like clockwork for a year. I had called and complained that day too to no avail. My cash back is only 20 dollars and yet I've been treated rudely and lied to, so I'm calling my losses and canceling the card.

I have had my card for many years. Never had any problems. Someone has used my card in another state at a wine and liquor store and I don't even drink. I called customer service and they wanted to cancel my card and said it would be 7 days for a new card. How am I suppose to live for 7 days? All my money gets deposited to this card. So I have my card locked. I will definitely be moving my banking somewhere else. The customer service person was extremely rude and had me crying in tears and was very rude. I never thought a company that I had dealt with for so many years would treat me this way!

Since I couldn't get an account anywhere else, I went with Walmart Money Card and it's going great. I've been using my MoneyCard for a little over a year so far, and I like the save and unsave option in the app. The only part that's harder is that I can't go to a bank and just withdraw money. There's no way to easily withdraw money. I have to go in public and do cashback, which kinda suck to end up having to spend money to get money out of my account. It doesn't charge me a fee but I have to buy something. And when I have to do cashback at a store, I get charged double to use an ATM because I get charged with the ATM then charged by them as well. The only Walmart near me is far away so I don't get a chance to go there very often, and I don't like that I get charged to use the services at a Walmart.
Then, I would also like it to be easier for the people I send money to to get the money that I send them 'cause that's been one of the biggest hassles. Sending money to people is easy for me, but it's not easy for them to get the money that I'm sending them. I used to send money to people that I owe money to, like to pay my rent to them, but they end up having to get a Walmart card also in order to get the money. On the other hand, one benefit is cashing a check or depositing a check and getting cashback. I have direct deposit at my job and it's nice and cool that I get my check deposited a day earlier than anybody else back where I work.

My card was used several times in a different state without my permission. And this would have continued to happen if I didn't stop it. This caused my account to be without funds I needed for my bills and other activities.

Money Card was HACKED!!! I receive an email stating my online account password was changed. I knew I did not change it, so I went to my app and tried to login in to my account but the password was denied. I did request my password to be changed and I looked on my account and saw the email address associated with my account was changed to someone else's email. I promptly changed the email. I then went to my transaction history and saw someone sent $500 online that was already picked up. I called Walmart Money Card and now I have to wait 10 days or more for an investigation. I am not up at 3 in the morning and I would never send money to anyone online. Now- I have to wait for an investigation to be completed before I get my money. BEWARE!!! They also hack online account and change email and password. Patiently Waiting for Walmart Money Card to give me back my money. I will keep everyone posted.

I have been a customer for almost 8 years. At the end of September 2019 my card expired. I have tried 11 times to get a replacement card but still have yet to receive one. I have over $500 of SSI money in my account that I can't touch. I've called customer service and I've live chatted to get a card. I've never had this issue before. I just want a card so that I can get my kids some things for Christmas. I'm to the point that I might just have to close the account because no one can tell me why I'm not receiving the cards. Can anyone help me please? Do I need to contact the FDIC or maybe get a lawyer? This just seems awfully shady. I'm still being charged $3 every month for fees and I can't even use the account.

I really don’t understand this company. The corporate office is suppose to call me. No calls and I getting really frustrated about the issue. I need my money to do my business.

Updated on 12/06/2019: Yes, I spoke to a manager for the 10th time in the last month. And I'm not sure why you replied with being glad that my concerns were resolved? My problem was NOT resolved! I received the SAME run around I always do when I call and told to call back in 3 business days only to be told to call back again! Ridiculous! And Walmart STILL. has my $1000 tax refund because no one in their call center wants to veer away from the script they read to every caller and actually look for it!
Original Review: In 2017 I had my tax refund direct deposited to my Walmart money card. Before the IRS could finalize my taxes and send my refund I had to close my walmart money card account due to fraud and I received a new card. Well, now in 2019 the IRS says they sent my refund, that it did not come back to them and that it was a successful transaction. However according to walmart money card customer service (which is horrible) can not seem to find my money. It is the run around every time I call. They tell me to call the IRS which I tell them I have numerous times. The IRS even provided me with a tracer number which should take them straight to what account my money is in. I have provided that number to Walmart money card 3 times! And 3 more times I was giving the run around.
Each time I call, they check my existing account and tell me the money isn't there. Ummm yes we have established that a month ago, but now what I need is for someone to look somewhere else for it! They do not put ANY effort into helping me each time I call. And when I ask for someone in management that maybe can help me I am refused. Walmart should not be allowed to keep my money and I will not stop until someone finds it! I just want to know how many people they have done this too that hasn't fought back and they just let walmart keep their money? Well I won't.

I got a notice on my account that said it was blocked and I needed to send proof of my identity. I sent a copy of my driver's license front and back. Next day I was notified that my account was closed because my identity was sufficient enough! I had 524$ on that card. I called numerous times and finally got in touch with someone and they said my money is on that card indefinitely because the account was closed! What?? That's a scam and not to mention FRAUD! THEY CAN NOT KEEP MY MONEY!! I DEMANDED A CHECK BE MAILED TO ME AND THEY REFUSED!!!! Said once the money is on the card they cant take it off!! They better figure it out because I'm fixing to open a class action lawsuit on their ass!!! If it has happened to me, I can just imagine how many others it happened to!!! Get my money to me! Im not supporting you!!!! If anyone has had this problem please email me or reply to this post!

I realize that a disputed charge may not be a big deal to just deny but as a person that needs the money back it has become a crushing outcome. I called immediately after I got the notice about a charge. Both Hotwire and Walmart. After waiting 10 business day I am now told my claim was denied. No money for Thanksgiving and now I am still left with no money for food the day after. It’s wrong to take advantage of people in a tough situation. I just want my money.

On Nov. 15 2019 my card had 1300 dollars taken to purchase online products at the Shilla Duty store in Korea. I called the 1800 number to Walmart, talked to representative right away, was told to wait till transactions posted so CE they were still pending then I could fill out a transaction dispute claims. I did fill out the transaction dispute but have not heard anything. I also asked for my card to be closed and reissue me a new one. Still have not received this. I too am starting to think I need to report this to the Better Business Bureau and anyone else higher. I need this resolved asap. I am hoping to keep my account but I need my money back. I have had this card for a few months with no issues. However, it only deposits my checks the day before and I would rather have a card that actually pays two days ahead of payday. A lot of my coworkers get their money on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and I am the only one in the prepaid bunch that get my pay on Thursdays.

Updated on 01/07/2020: It all started the week of Thanksgiving I went to an ATM at Regions Bank in Chatsworth Ga to withdraw Christmas shopping money. I tried getting 420.00 and it said couldn't dispense cash. Transaction cancelled... I checked my account before leaving and it had been taken from my account so after talking to multiple people at Green Dot and Walmart MoneyCard they finally gave me a provisional credit 10 days later.
I was just thankful for that to be over with, so I thought. I got notice Saturday that my money card was overdrawn -401.35. After contact with Walmart moneycard I was told the investigation had determined that I received the money. Obviously they didn't check video at regions bank to determine this so now they taken my last bit of cash plus cash that was deposited from employer today so now they owe me 101 dollar they've stolen from me. I've had to go to my hr dept and go through opening another account for my check to be deposited on the good side of any is that they won't be receiving no more of my cash to steal.
I've contacted Fox 5 Consumer reporting in Atlanta. They've called today interested in helping me. Regions bank is currently getting the information I and fox 5 needs to pursue further. This corporate monster thinks they can do whatever to screw people over and this isnt happening to me they will not prevail victorious but I will, I promise. They dont deserve 1 star. The customer service is the worst ever. Their business practices towards customers is terrible. I've been with Walmart moneycard for years and I never thought they would end up so awful. Never get this card. You will regret it. I will post the letter they're sending me and all other proof as I get it. t=Thanks for reading.
Updated on 11/28/2019: Day 3 and Walmart Money Card and Green Dot is failing miserably. There's no reason at all that my 423.00 shouldn't be back in my account after the ATM didn't dispense my cash. I received a call from them but during my work hours I couldn't answer. They left a number and a bogus text. That is invalid. I will continue to post bad reviews daily until my situation is resolved. I'm looking for other places to post reviews. Currently I'm really frustrated with green dot and Walmart money card....
Original review: Well because this multi million dollar company doesn't have any atms of there on like always was forced to get 420.00 out for bills at Regions bank in Chatsworth GA. The atm didn't dispense my money and deducted. Anyways, this left me in a big bind. Walmart money card is saying up to 10 business days. People use a bank to avoid this from happening. A bank can credit your account quickly I know. Never had a problem like this until this card, so now I sit and wait. Hope my landlord can wait and light bill also.
I had a problem in July where I lost my card 4th July week. I was low on cash because unless I wanted to pay a high hurry up fee to expedite my new card. I would have to wait on wonderful USPS. This should be offered to customers. But I'm done with this card as soon. As this is resolved they can have their crap show called customer service and these flawed policies. People try yourself. Everything seems well until situations like this. I don't recommend this card to no one.

Had this card for about 4 months and besides expensive monthly fees and having to pay $3 with every reload, everything worked fine until a few days ago. I made a purchase for $173 that went into pending verification status and it’s still in that status as I type. I contacted customer service for the card and was told that there’s nothing they can do and to contact the merchant which I’ve already done countless times!!! How do you not back your own product (Walmart or Green Dot or whomever)? You take our money but refuse to give us security in our purchases? I’ll never use this card again and will be contacting for fraud!

I recently posted $400.00 to my account and when I returned home I started receiving notifications of 2 transactions of $102.25. Immediately I lock my card and call customer service who I had to contact more than 6 times that same hour because they kept hanging up in my face, sending me back to the main menu and being disrespectful towards me. I put my whole entire check on my card and some just hacks my account and takes it and they do nothing about this!!! I typed a dispute letter, printed it, signed it, took a picture and emailed it to Greendot as they told me to do and this morning I call customer service to get an update and they say my dispute has been denied!!!
I am crying my eyes out writing this because I’ve had a Walmart card since 2017 and nothing like this has ever happened and when it does they do nothing about it!! I WILL NEVER BUY FROM WALMART OR ITS EXTENSIONS OF BUSINESS EVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE!!!! This needs to be investigated and I’m currently looking for a lawyer because I’m about to be evicted due to not coming up with my portion of rent!!!!! This is disgusting and evil!!!! I work too hard and get harassed at my job just to barely make ends meet to be treated this way!!!! Please if Consumer Affairs can help please investigate Walmart. They are stealing our money!!! I am a current cardholder with Walmart (Green Dot). Recently my card was charged for Lyft services. I never have used these services, and have no expectations to ever need them. I live in a very rural area... was assessed 3 charges for rides, 2 at the same time, and one an hour later. I contacted customer service while the charge was still pending, was told they couldn't cancel the transaction and was refused the opportunity to actually speak to a supervisor. Not that it may have made a difference, but I think it would at least have made me feel like they were taking me seriously.
It took submitting a claim on the website twice to get it to actually show up as being investigated. Finally after about two weeks, I get an update that after thorough investigation, they have denied my claim. That blows my mind. The card was and always is in my wallet and on my person. I didn't use it and am certain no one else did. Makes me rethink the fact my paychecks are direct deposited into the same account...

This card is the best. I’ve used it for over a year with no problem. I’m able to save money with no problem. I’ve told friends and they love it. My son now has a card and he’s telling his friends cause there’s no worry about overdraft charges. Plus every month you're able to win money.

Updated on 12/30/2019: My problem occurred on 10/25/19, here is is 12/30/19 going into the new year and my issue still has not been resolved. This company does not card about their customers (as you can see with all of the other bad reviews) and your money is NOT FDIC protected. Stay far away from the Walmart MoneyCard to save yourself the time and headache!!!! My card was hacked, my hard earned money was stolen, and the best they could do was denial my claim over 5 different times and to tell me to "be careful where I swipe my card next time" PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD.
Original: I've had my Walmart Money Card for almost 10 years, just recently my card was hacked. My card was being used somewhere else even though I had it on my person. I called customer care right away and had them cancel my card and send me a new one. I placed a dispute which was denied, so I called to place another dispute, provided supporting information and it was still denied. I called customer care, (which is located in India) the reps hung upon me, left me on hold for a hour and an half and even transferred me back into queue!!!! I am highly upset... You mean to tell me my money isn't FDIC protected??? I'm going to go to the news stations, my attorney general's office and whoever else until my issue is resolved.

I have three fraudulent charges and when I called I was told I have to wait almost 2 weeks before I can dispute it and then after that It can take up to 10 days after I dispute. These charges totaled over $200.00. So now I will not be able to eat lunch today or have a way home because the customer service dept is useless. I will defiantly be closing my card with them and not be using their services. I have been a customer since 2011.

My overall experience with Walmart money card has been good m. There are a few things however that needs to be addressed that can approve the overall experience for not only myself, but others. My husband account was closed due to us loading our tax return on there because we weren’t aware that it could have been direct deposited at the time. Instead of being asked to provide some sort of verification as to where the money was coming from, because I guess Walmart employees had viewed it suspiciously, the account was closed and he was informed he wouldn’t be able to obtain one ever in the future. That should not be the policy and there should be an option to provide legitimate verification versus a decision like that being made and not being able to be reversed.
The other issue is loading the card. It should not be so difficult and time consuming to load the card. At the Walmart in Rohnert Park, CA, you used to be able to load the card at any register and I was recently informed that you were no longer able. To have to wait in line at Customer service due to the money center always being closed for whatever reason was absolutely absurd! There was a couple of times where I didn’t even bother and I needed to load the card to take care of my rent. The line at Customer Service is always so long that you could wait fifteen minutes easily. Besides these issues I enjoy having a Walmart money card. My payroll and financial aid is direct deposited onto it and it makes life easier, especially for those who may not be able to obtain an checking/savings account.

I've had this card for years. I have several direct deposits. I can't call customer service because I don't remember my phone number from for freaking years ago and I can't log in online because it say my card don't exist but yet I still use it. I still have it and I've had it for 4 years. I'm sick of this card. I'm going to cancel everything and go somewhere else. This has been an ongoing issue for years.

I ordered something over the internet for 28.17 and for some reason my card was charged twice. I contacted the place of my purchase and they said that they never charged my card. I called my Walmart Moneycard and they said that the pending transaction will be refunded back to my account after 30 days. Today is 34 days and the pending transaction is gone from the account but the money was never refunded and the place of my purchase never charged my card.
I called and spoke to customer service and the woman found the transactions and confirmed that the money was indeed supposed to be refunded back to me and she didn’t know why it wasn’t. She told me it would be refunded back in 48 hours. Well it’s been 3 days and I have called and called and no one will give me any answers as to why the money was not refunded. I have had WMMC for 7 years now and never had any problems, now I have problems every week.. I do not recommend this card to anyone. I have to switch to a different card or bank after they stole my 56.34$.

I've had my card for several years to use for online shopping. I never had a problem until recently, when I noticed a charge for $99.95 that I did not make. I jumped through all of their hoops, and my dispute was declined. There is apparently no recourse, so now I'm out that much money. They sent me a new card which I have not been able to register. (Tried approximately 50 times) I took it to the store and nobody there could make it work either. It's all recorded, and it tells me that my birthday and social security number are invalid!!! Trying to contact customer service is useless. It's a recording. Having the card was convenient and answered my needs until someone got $99.95 of my money.

I called to report my card stolen. Anne aka Sam (she seems to always answers & will change her name if asked about it) was like talking to a brick wall. She transferred me to departments I didn't ask for to get rid of me. I gave the zip code as ending in 43. She'd verify as 41. I'd say it again she'd say it correct. I asked her to read it back she'd say 41. But assured me by the end of the call she had it right as 43. I called Fed ex to confirm had I not my package would've been delayed she'd put the zip code as 41. Luckily FedEx was great! Intercepted the delivery & held it at their store. You didn't win Anne aka Sam aka brick wall aka robot!

Almost 1,600 was taken by hackers and used overseas. And with 5 days, Consumer Affairs got all of my money back. I am very pleased and will keep my card locked from now on. Also the guy that helped me was very nice, courteous, and he called me and kept me in the loop every step of the way.

I just got hacked Yesterday and 10 charges totaling $1541.10 was taken out of my account in Seoul. I've never been there in my life. 10 transactions totaling $154.10 all at 1 time, and I wasn't notified. I'm hoping that they do what they're suppose to do and take care of their customers. DON'T BUY THIS CARD!!! This is the 2nd card that's SUPPOSEDLY been mailed to me!! My temporary card got cancelled cause my permanent one was SUPPOSEDLY delivered!! They don't even wait for you to activate it!! Customer service just says it will be delivered in 2 days!! But they don't have tracking number so how do they know when it will be delivered!!! My paycheck was deposited on that card!! I have kids to feed & need gas to go to work & I can't access my money!! I'm having to borrow money from family to survive!! My brother in law had same problem but I bought the stupid thing anyway!!! I have gotten bank account since but they say they can't transfer the money!! Can anybody tell me what to do?? HELP!!!

During my first call to customer service the representative did not understand my question but she kept putting me on hold until the phone hung up. 2 hours later after I speak to someone who understands me, I still couldn't get help. I used the online bill pay to pay off an old account that was on my credit report. I overpaid the account, the creditor sent the check they received from MoneyCard back to me. I just wanted customer service to cancel the check and put the money back into my account but, I was told that is not possible. So what am I supposed to do with a check made out to someone else that came from my account? The service is a waste of time. I will be canceling my direct deposit and closing this account.

I hate customer service. They have foreigners answering the phone and are rude. They won't deposit your refunds when it comes in. They hold it for a week or longer trying to make interest on your money.

On 10/28/19 I ordered tires from Walmart.com. 2 set for $333.83. The next day I had a pending charge of 333.89 plus the 333.83. I called and was told it was a type of hold in my account and my money would go back to my account when the Walmart.com cleared for 333.83. I explained I needed my money. My brother passed away on 10/3/19. All I got was an, "I'm sorry." Still no money. Then after it cleared the 333.83, I was told I had to wait 30 days to get my money. I continued to call with no results. Finally I called 10/30/19 to make sure my money would go into my account and was told, "What money. We don't owe you any money." The pending charge was gone off the screen. I have not received my money yet. I filled an online dispute form and still haven't heard from them or got my money back.

Have had nothing but a good experience with this card. Works everywhere, and my money is always available very quickly. However I do wish it was more compatible with CashApp or Samsung pay, but it's not a major card so its understandable.

I've been a customer for quite a few years. I love the ability to get direct deposit, no overdraft fees, I can send money to my loved ones and I have my own Vault to save money. I prefer my Walmart Money Card over every other card I have and over my bank. I've already gotten 2 family members to sign up and refer all my employees to the Walmart Money Card when they have no bank account. I'll remain a customer for many more years to come.

I love the Walmart card. I like getting my past check two days earlier and I love that I can vault money. It makes it very convenient, and I have been with the Walmart card for a while now and don’t plan on switching no time soon.

The Wal-Mart money is great for a day to day prepaid card. There is no overdraft so if you're out of money you're out of money. It also does really well for direct deposit. Most times I get my money a day early with direct deposit.

I like where the money card has come from. I've had it for years now. I like the fact it has a vault and you can lock your card. Before this was only possible through large bank names. I use my money card for everything from paying bills to making small purchases.

The option to save 3 % at Walmart.com is great. Also if you have direct deposit over $1000 for the month you're not charged a monthly fee. Unfortunately a few credit cards like Discover will not accept the Walmart card as a debit card. I'm unable to pay a few other bills that system will not recognize the card as a valid debit card. Therefore I have to still have another bank card.

I have been trying to get a replacement debit card from Walmart Moneycard for a month. They have sent me 4 cards that I never received because somewhere between Walmart and the shipping label people keep sending the cards to an address I have not lived in for a year and a half although Walmart says they sent it to my current address. FedEx keeps delivering to old address because they cannot change without Walmart approval but they says they won’t or can’t do that. I tried to get the number for the new card and for security they can’t even do that. I am so pissed because no one can do anything to help me but say, "I’m sorry. Let me process a new card". I don’t want a new card. All I want now is the card number attached to the account. That’s it. I’m over it.

I love the card. Get paid early. Only thing I hate you have to get new card to change address. Customer service was okay but not too understanding. Fee needs to be less at a ATM. Charges is unreal. They say free on site and charge you.

Beware when using the card for a credit authorization at hotels such as for incidentals. I paid for the room through Expedia and then when you check in most places do an authorization for incidentals. With most banks, if there are no charges, within a couple business days the authorization is released and you have access to your funds. Apparently, this card places a 7 to 10 business day hold on your funds, which is obviously excessive and purely another revenue source for Green Dot Bank. Customer service was very polite, but they can't deviate from company policy.

I have never spoke to a person that actually speak English at all, They don't even seem to care about the issues they have, The cards will fail at ATMs and charge you for money you never received, they can't do anything about it. They refuse to listen and relate to anything at all. By far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.

I lost my card and contacted customer service to get assistance with a replacement card. The CSRs were very rude and disrespectful. I was hung up on. I was told unless I can verify the card number then I wouldn't be able to get any assistance. I spoke with 1 representative who informed me to upload documents to prove my identity in which I did. I spoke with other representatives explaining my situation and I was told that they would not review my information that I was told to upload because I could not verified the card number.
I had been using Walmartmoneycard for many years but will never again. I had my direct deposits going to the card in which they will not release my money. I informed the representative that I discontinued my direct deposit which would have also helped to verified my information. It has been almost 2 months and walmartmoneycard will still not release my balance the card. I am working on a way to sue the company because this very unacceptable.

Happy overall, the main exception, is the fee seems to be too much when you are under the minimum. Direct Deposit gets your money early also. Security always asks for a special pin so you feel like your account is secure.

Very reliable service. Money arrives on card early which is very convenient. They have a built in savings, with the money vault that you can move your money to for savings. They also reward you for saving money based on average daily balance of savings you receive entries into monthly drawings. Plus cash back for money you spend when shopping at Walmart.

The only thing that would make this card the best of the best is ATM that doesn't charge you like a regular back card is. This way people don't have to pay the ATM fee and the card fee. Walmart moneycard was able to resolve the issue with the fraudulent charge on my account. The representative that helped me (Anthony) was very nice, knowledgeable and patient. On Oct 6, 2019, I received two notifications on my phone of purchases I was not making in a different state than what I live in. I immediately call the number that was on the back of my prepaid card. The representative informed me that one charge was declined but the other was pending and nothing could be done until the transaction was completed. I was advised to call the merchant. When I called the merchant, they told me there was nothing they could do and I needed to call the bank. I called Walmart MoneyCard back again and was told that I had to wait until the transaction was completed to file a dispute. I filed a dispute the next day and was told I had to write a letter and send it in as well and the dispute should be finalized by 10/21/2019. I informed them this was my house payment and I needed my money. I called them back on 10/21/19 and was told based on a report, my dispute was denied.
They never called the merchant or did any follow-up. My card was attached to my Sam's Club account and someone hacked my account in a different state. Walmart MoneyCard goes through this whole verification of ss#, telephone number and address when you call them but don't flag your account when multiple transactions are being made or attempted in a state different than what's in your profile. I never got my money back because a report determined that there were no fraudulent charges. I had this card for years with no problem and it was ok but if fraudulent charges are made on your account, don't expect to get your back because they will not protect your funds.

I just purchased a Walmart Green Dot money card and set up my account. Now it says my identification is unverifiable and I can't access the money I put on the card. I have tried every feasible method to speak to a real human being about this issue! There is absolutely no live customer service, and no automated choices to solve this problem. I made two purchases for 75 dollars each. Both transactions were cancelled, but the money didn't appear back on my card. I called customer service for Walmart MoneyCard and I was instructed to call both Walmart and Best Buy and I did that and they stated that the funds had been released. I called customer service again and was told that the pending transactions would post to my account after 10 days. Today makes it the 12th day so I called again and was told that the funds were scheduled to be released on the 19th of November. That is not convenient for me nor my family which includes a 3 month old that needs things every other day. I was given two different times of the day my money would come back. Either way I really can't afford to wait.
I've used this card so much and have deposited at least 15,000 since I've been using it. I honestly feel like I've robbed myself by trusting this bank. I had so many options and I chose Walmart MoneyCard simply because it's an all around amazing company and I thought I couldn't go wrong with using it. Me and my family are very disappointed and wish there was more that could be done.

The card is easy to use and help keep track of purchases. I like the cash back feature and being able to put money in a vault without having to start another acct. Down side is I can't get it to take my info so I can deposit a check straight to the card. Also, would be nice if I could use it on Google pay, Samsung pay, or apple pay. Otherwise I love the card.

I made the mistake of having my social security check direct deposited on this card! I am aware that many companies outsource their customer service departments to other non English speaking countries, but at least make sure that the rep understands and speaks English well enough to communicate with the Consumer! I’m so frustrated that I am going to stop the direct deposit and go to a company that values service! I would never recommend this card or any other Green Dot affiliate to anyone! Beware!!

Last night received email that unusual activity was suspected and I need to upload driver license to verify identity. I did that. 2 hours later I checked and it said my card was closed. No reason. Updated on 10/30/2019: Made previous inquiry about the inability to access funds on Green Dot Card. They left msg for me to call them. I called and they informed me that Walmart sent them message on OCTOBER 4th to send that rude recording to my card when I called (which I recorded) it was more of a personal message, not business. The rep also asked me to call back to the office when they are open??? At 1PM? After I spoke to Green Dot Corp rep, at 8666524611 Ext ** I called the card again, but this time, the recording informed me I had a balance of 339 and some change. So I hung up the phone called Green Dot Corporate office again and I got a recording the office is now closed. So I called my card back again to see if the recording had changed again and it had. Now it states card closed and can't use anymore.
All I want to know is pulling the puppets strings on these cards. I know there are legal ways to handle these matters. All I need is my balance of my card or someone to explain to me where it has gone and why? That's all I need. Is there anyone that can help me with this situation or has experienced this side of WalMart and Green Dot? All of this happened within the last hour and I am completely lost. Please help.

I like the card overall. I do direct deposit and use it for everything. The only things I would change, it charges an ATM fee no matter where you pull cash out and it doesn't have a chip. Other than those things, the app is great and I haven't had a problem using it yet.

I’ve been using Walmart MoneyCard on and off for 10 years. Nobody can just go in there and take the money off of the card like they can a bank account and overdraw you. So, I like that. I saw that MoneyCard do cash back now, so that was nice. I’ve already got it once. It’s easy and I don't have to worry about it. I don't carry cash. The few times I needed cash, I just go to Walmart and get it. But other than that, I just like how I don't have to worry about any of the banking part of it.
There are also issues with online purchases, with everybody getting their crap stolen. I’ve used eBay and PayPal and knock on wood, I have not had that issue with this Walmart card. I did have it with my bank card, but not on this card so that helps. I do the direct deposit and I get my paycheck before anybody else. I told other people to go get it.

My overall experience is exceptional! Day to day service is timely & precise. Walmart employees are courteous, knowledgeable, & timely. My account was hacked on one occasion, during which everything was handled in a most professional manner. My one suggestion is that your fees be lowered or mostly abandoned, as it is the nature of commercial banking to exist due to the consumers creating the resources.

The Walmart MoneyCard is very efficient. I get my pay 2 days early, and the ability to stash money from my phone is invaluable. It's also useful because many online sites accept it. The only problem is that it is incompatible with PayPal.

It's great when it works, but don't try to schedule automatic payments with it. My direct deposit from work goes through like clockwork every Thursday, and for the past few deposits, it's not been coming in on time. Then I get an email later in the day from Walmart Moneycard apologizing for the delay. Accidents happen, but it's happening so consistently now, and today, my utility bill didn't go through and I will be getting a return fee through the company. I'm not very happy at all, so I called to ask if they had an ETA on fixing it, and there wasn't.

I had almost $50 stolen from my card for someone at a Taco Bell in Ohio- I live in Georgia. I received an alert, called the specific Taco Bell the charge was made at and they then refused to give the thief their order since it was purchased off a stolen card number. Fast forward to me attempting to dispute the charges with MoneyCard. I provided them evidence of the charge made, evidence of the call made and evidence of my location and that I had possession of the card. They denied the charge made and I had to eat the cost of someone stealing my card info. Don’t bother with MoneyCard. They’re just as much of a thief is the SOB that stole my card number and tried to eat in my dime.

On October 1st I went to Walmart to unload $700 for rent. Wal-Mart messed up and loaded $700 on my card. They fixed it by doing an unload of the $700 they mistakenly added to my account. When they went to unload the $700 I had originally gone there for, the transaction was declined, however, my Wal-Mart Money Card statement showed the transaction went through. I filed a dispute with Walmart MoneyCard, and emailed all of the the info they requested. Now on their website it states, "For registered prepaid card accounts, we will correct any error promptly. It has been more than 10 days, and my dispute is still under investigation, and they refuse to credit my account. In my opinion that is shady banking practices and what they are doing is pretty much fraud. All I get is the same scripted answers, and when I ask to speak to a supervisor or someone who can actually help me, they tell me they can't. I have been a loyal customer for almost 4 years, and this company treats me like an annoyance and inconvenience.

No issues at all ever. Easy to use and easy to manage using the app. I do wish it was compatible with money sharing apps like Venmo and cashapp. I am not sure what it takes to be compatible with them but to stay relevant it would be a nice added feature.

My mom told me about Walmart MoneyCard and because I couldn't get a regular credit card and I had to pay bills, I decided to get one. But it's inconvenient that it only has a $300 a day ATM limit. It makes it really hard 'cause then we have to go to Walmart and buy something just to pull more money off. Our rent is almost $500 and we can't pull that off with the ATM. But apart from that, it's easy to save money with the MoneyCard.

I haven’t had an experience with Walmart Moneycard in quite some time, simply because they told me I needed to update it or get a new one. I've had the card for two years before that happened. Other than that, everything was fine. I got it for convenience. It was a place for direct deposits and such to go. It was easy to reload too. But Walmart customer associates suck and everybody knows that that’s why their prices are so cheap, you gotta deal with the bad to get the good. But I would recommend the Moneycard.

The Walmart MoneyCard is working as my savings account. So, part of my direct deposit goes directly into that card and it stays there. The card has been helpful in keeping track of my savings without really having to do the dirty myself. It's convenient.

Horrible experience! I try to make a purchase online and it was declined due to the billing address I had put down. The money was removed from my account and I’ve been pending for over a week now. The company I attempted to make a purchase with has sent me documentation stating it was declined and funds were not removed from them and for me to contact my bank. I have called every number I can find in regards to the Walmart card. I’ve spoken to customer service and a supervisor and have only gone in circles.
I asked the supervisor for his bosses' number and he refused to give it to me. They insist that the money was removed by the merchant and I have to wait for them to complete whatever for the pending to stop. Walmart also refuse to send me any type of paper documentation or email to show their claim Of being not at fault. I don’t know how to go about this, but I want my money back. Once this is fully resolved I will no longer use the Walmart card as there is absolutely zero security or help received from them. My advice to anybody that reads this is Stick with PayPal. They are absolutely amazing when it comes to resolving any sort of issue.

When I have direct deposit setup. Everyone at my work gets paid Fridays at 1 am. Even co-workers with the same card as myself. But mine doesn't go in till damn near the following Monday at 7 am... On top of that I was told if I did a check deposit on my app it would go in after 1-3 days. It doesn't clear for 10 DAYS! Will never use this again due to poor reliability. I have a job and depend on my money going on this card. Yet it's always late... Goodbye Green Dot/Walmart MoneyCard.

I was the victim of fraud October 2-8, 2019 AND went through the long and arduous process of trying to reach a human being on the phone to close down my card and report this dispute. It took over 3 hours to do so as my card was continuously being charged out of state. My ONE AND ONLY Walmart MoneyCard was skimmed or somehow stolen and used out of State. I live in Tampa, FL and I have not left this area OR USED MY CARD for 5+ months. The thief used my card FAST AND REPEATEDLY for 17 FRAUDULENT charges in the State of GA totaling $393.93.
It's easy to prove I WAS NOT IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA ----PROVEN BY THE FACT THAT my OWN REAL card was being used simultaneously 6+ HOURS AWAY in Tampa, FL. How could anyone use ONE card at the same exact time in a state she's never been in 6+ hours away and where she actually lives. I got a notification that "after thorough research your dispute has been denied".
They don't have a fraud department, they don't research anything except that they disputed all of the fraudulent charges with the merchants an Walmart Money Card stole my money. Disgusting, unethical, unconscionable and appalling. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR AND RUN FROM THIS DISGUSTING, DISGRACEFUL, SHAMEFUL SHAM OF A CARD. They will steal from you. I bought my Walmart MoneyCard so I can order off the internet and don’t use it to pay bills very often, but I have booked a few trips to Las Vegas with it. To reload it, I go to Walmart. But if you go to Manhattan, there could be 57 people waiting to do something with the lady there, but Walmart doesn't call another person to help. All in all, I like my MoneyCard just the way it is.

I had an issue arise with a company double charging my card and refusing to refund the second charge. I called the 800 number on the back of the card. Talked to a customer service representative. She walked me through the process of starting a dispute claim. After they reviewed it they refunded my second charge. I recommend them to anyone. I have used the same card for several years now and have never had any issues with them.

I have used my Walmart Green Dot MoneyCard for the past several years. I also receive direct deposit, which has always went smoothly. In December 2018, I moved to another state. Since February 2019, I have called the number on the back of my Walmart Greendot card to change my address (as it will not allow me to change it on the app). I have been given 2 different email addresses to send my new driver's license and proof of residence. I have sent these documents 3 TIMES and my address is still incorrect on my account. This has caused numerous problems when I am paying my bills as my physical address is not the same as the billing address on my Walmart Greendot Card. Something so simple, yet this has been such a headache and is still not resolved 10 months later. There is no excuse for this.

Called customer service and they will not release the pending hold even though I called the merchant and the merchant verified that it was canceled and provided the authorization code. The rep kept saying, "Sorry it's pending and if the charge doesn't go through by 10/24 then we will credit the money back" even though the MERCHANT kept saying it was voided. SO FRUSTRATING. I've been with Walmart Moneycard for almost two years now. I don't trust banks. The card is easy to be accessed and I can use my card better than I can use my husband’s. I mostly use it so I can stash my bills, so I don’t overspend on accident. I do get the cash money back because I shop at Walmart on a daily basis. So, it’s been great. Money Card was easy to obtain and easy to use. This card is linked with Walmart. To transfer to other accounts, I just use my convenience checks with no problem. You also have the option of receiving direct deposit from your job. You can get points from using the card daily.

Since using Walmart MoneyCard I get my paycheck a day and a half early from what other people do to get a paper check. Also, I've been spending more responsibly. The app notifies me every time I swipe my card because I wanted it to. However, I don’t like the way it logs me out of the app. But other than that, it takes 10 seconds for the money to go into my card from a deposit location. I would recommend Walmart MoneyCard.

I called Green Dot about Walmart moneycard to report my lost cuz I lost mine. Eventually I found it but I asked them to send it to somewhere else and the woman she barely could speak English. She was not patient at all. She kept trying to talk over me. I grew frustrated at this point. I'm not even going to lie to you. At this point I'm so frustrated and eat it I started crying and screaming at her because she wouldn't just be quiet and listen to me. My question was if I'm giving you my money not giving you my personal information my birthdate etc etc why can't you send the card where I asked you to send it? So as the call continues I keep trying to ask her. It gets loud now.
Before the actual phone call is over they give you a choice to talk to or talk to the survey or write a survey and I tried to do that and she hung up in my face. Not only did she hang up in my face she told me to hang up first before she did that and I said no one to take the survey cuz I want them to know that we're over here in America. We speak English and we need people that speak good English because I did not understand. She kept asking me for my ZIP code but she kept saying, "Cold I need cold I need cold" and I kept saying "I gave you the address." She said, "No I need cold" and I'm like "What is cold" and she said "Tell me the address" over again and then I said "You mean the zip code and I just told you my ZIP code."
Not only that. My the most frustrating thing is that she does not speak good English. How am I going to do any banking with y'all or not be able to talk to anyone from that phone number unless my account is open. I don't even know if I'm getting new car. That's number one. Number two she didn't insure me that I was getting a new card. I can't track my new card off of my app anymore and then I had a bigger question. I gave my boss my employer too many numbers in the routing number and I need to call someone about that so I wanted to ask can I still receive direct deposit to my to my account even if everything is right and I reported it lost. So in other words I'm asking if I didn't have any Mount routing numbers even though my card is lost can I still get direct deposit. Well I went into the app to read it and it said yes.
Y'all are dealing with people's money and when people need to talk to you they cannot talk to you. They have to talk to automated system. It just keeps hanging up in their face. You have my money and right now all I want to do is withdraw my money and not deal with you guys. That is what's the worst encounter I've ever had was green. And I've been with green. For almost 5 years I have been banking with Walmart for 5 years and I'm just realizing like I shouldn't do this anymore. Nobody can get back to me. No more call me. The people that can call me they don't speak English. This is not fair to American customers. You press 1 for English and you get someone who barely speaks English and all I need is help. Like why can't we get routed to people over here that speaks so we can talk about our money.
Not everyone is on welfare or receiving government checks. Some people are receiving direct deposit and need this account to get a regular bank account. I need someone to call me back. I need someone to call me back. Do not email me. I need someone who speaks English and not only that I want to talk to that lady supervisor because she hung up in my face after being rude and kept trying to talk over me. She hung up in my face and I said I'm ready to take the survey and then it said you made it incorrect. A valid number like I press the number so therefore she did it so I want to know before this gets way out of hand. Where's my card. How can I get my money out of this situation because I don't want to bank with you guys anymore. You don't have any idea what it's like to work really hard for your money and it's somewhere out there and you can't reach it. You can't touch it. There's nothing that can go on.
I'm never trust in this company. Again I need someone to call me so I'll know what happened to my money and I need it to happen right away. And my question also is like a bank account because I didn't give the right routing number. Will you send my boss my employer back the amount that was due to go on my GreenDot card? And I accidentally uploaded my direct deposit info. Can you not release that info.

We were in a financial bind and we needed a new bank, and I knew Walmart MoneyCard would be nice and simple. They were the first to call with no monthly fees. I like that their prepaid debits won't ever let you bounce anything. Also, I get my direct deposits early. The one drawback is the ATMs. I don't really have an ATM with my MoneyCard so I get a fee anywhere I go to get money. I would even find myself running into Walmart and buying some candy bars for the kids and getting cash back if I needed cash. Overall, the experience was great and I love it. I got cash back from my food purchases. I've been with them for over a year now so I just got my big cashback rewards thing. I just wish there's an ease of access to cash.

I have never had any issue with my card. Very easy to reload in store and use for direct deposit. Customer service had always been helpful. Love the online features for checking balance right from my phone. Got one for my kids for when they travel also so I can easily reload money for them.

I have used this card for years and I love that I receive my deposit early. However after speaking with a representative today I am so disappointed in how they are not looking into a dispute regarding a large sum of money charged to my card. It was a horrible customer service experience and made me question whether to keep this card at all. This is only my 2nd time disputing anything on the card and to be treated that way was shocking and ridiculous. I am so dissatisfied and disappointed at the moment. And the sad part is the merchant who charged me will most likely get away with charging me this unnecessary amount of money.

There's a lot of reasons why I work with Walmart. There's no overdraft. A regular bank will hit you five times for overdraft fees. This keeps me from screwing my life up. I shop at Walmart, so the card is convenient too. Plus, you get 5% back percentage on your card when you use it at Walmart. I get my checks early as well and I like that.

I filed a dispute in August for 480.87. It was denied. My issue is that the merchant still have not gotten their money back and here it is October. When I call customer care on the back of the card the agents keep telling me that the merchant has gotten the money back. When I call the merchant they have not gotten the money. I want to know since the money is not coming back to my card, when will the merchant get it the funds returned back to them? I am so tired of calling them trying to get answers and there none. I work entirely too hard for my money to have it taken away. I wanted to add a mailing address so that I could get a card but I can't even add a mailing address. I need my issues resolved!!

Me and my wife loved Walmart money card. It was compromised and someone stole 113 dollars. I am disabled and try everyday to get my money. They sent me a new card but blocked accounts. Use our card safely but it was still compromised. Not our fault. We need our money. Please help. Is so depressing.

****DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS FRAUD AND SCAMMING CARD.*** Buyer beware. Do not use this card for purchases, should an issue arise you will not get a resolution.*** Greendot you should be ashamed of yourselves by outsourcing your customer service to a country that fails to understand the demands of american consumers.*** I have been on the phone for over a week regarding a balance adjustment for an item I purchased on Walmart.com. Every time I call I have to repeat the same information to these attitude having Filipinos, who are poorly trained at best to handle customer complaints. It's like talking to a herd of crickets...these people are clueless on how to handle customer complaints that deal specifically with customers' money. I too was given a dispute number and was told someone would contact me. Four days have passed and no call and still no resolution.
This also happened in July of this year as I patiently waited for the issue of a funds reversal to be resolved...by the time the transaction cleared so did any proof of the money I was waiting for to be returned to my account. Called customer service (Filipinos) again and they can't tell me where my money went nor did they have any record of the duplicate transaction. Then they apologize in their Asian school girl voice and transfer me to a survey.
This week I've experienced the same thing. And I would not recommend this card to anyone. They read from a script and lack problem resolution skills. I was told by walmart.com that the transaction I made last Saturday has been reversed. A funds authorization reversal was faxed and emailed to Greendot on Monday October 7, 2019. I called and told WMC and their response was that I would have to wait until November 4. I immediately called and had my direct deposit changed from the account and the card is cut and thrown in the trash. Where it belongs. I hope everyone who has had customer service related issues and money stolen from your account due to a lack of trained CSRs throw this card in the trash and go with Chime or some other card that doesn't charge fees to steal customer's money.

I received a email that my replacement card was on the way in August and I never received it. I’ve requested a replacement card and was told I have to wait the two weeks and I can’t touch my funds at all. The card is amazing but the customer service was horrible and not sympathetic. Always no resolution and no for sureness answer that my card is on the way 100% this time.

I've gone at the Walmart places here in Yuma, particularly the one on Pacific Avenue. My daughter used to work there years ago and she told me about the Walmart MoneyCard. Then, when I was walking through the door, I read about the stuff on the door post right at the door entrance. I got the debit card and have had it for a number of years now. It’s been good and I use it everywhere I travel. I just swipe it and get on with my business. I also use the direct deposit. A lot of times, I have to check my balance and the customer service has always been cordial. So, I’ve told other people about Walmart MoneyCard.

Updated on 10/19/2019: I called customer service multiple times to resolve this matter, in regards to my insurance billing for the exact amount twice. As previously stated, it was not resolved with your customer service department. This should have been resolved immediately, because it was clearly noted it was a duplicate, and my insurance had their payment. You cannot call Green Dot corporate office, unless you receive a call from them. I was called because of the bad review, not to resolve the matter, because after I spoke to a person in the corporate office, he told me, it will be on hold for 11 days, and there was nothing they could do about the hold, which was not true.
I decided to call a few more times and finally, was told call your insurance and tell them to email us a letter, confirming they have their payment. Can you believe what this person said about their payment, when it is in the system? I had to contact my ins., and request the letter, with their letterhead, to be e-mailed, this is when my money was reversed back into my account after 8 days. I immediately collected my funds and closed this account. I would not recommend this card to anyone.
Original Review: I have had this card for about 2 weeks. My funds were deposited by direct deposit. Early deposit is the only viable option, I can determine up to this point. I attempted to pay my bills using bill pay, which is a great option. It did not work properly, so I had to use another method. The worst thing that happened was, one of the my bills was incorrectly debited twice. This is when the nightmare began, and remain unsolved at this time. I contacted the merchant first, and was told it was a vendor's error, and, "We don't have your funds. Contact Green Dot," so I did.
When I called Green Dot, I get this person that does speak fluent English. I cannot understand anything she is saying except 17 days hold. After encountering this, I decided to just hang up the phone, but before hanging up, I asked for a supervisor, perhaps we could communicate. Her response "no supervisor on duty, all busy". I was so upset at this point, because I do not have enough money to cover all of my bills.
I decided to call back, yesterday on 10/7. I should include, this began on 10/3. I asked again about the pending transaction, and he told me, "Oh there is nothing we can do about that. It will take up to 10 days, may be less or more. You will to wait, and if it does not fall off, call us back." He never mentioned business days, so I don't have a clear explanation of what he actually meant. I am so upset about this situation. It is difficult to understand people that don't speak fluent English. I am done with Green Dot. I will not be depositing any more of my money on this card. I will do regular banking from this day forward. The normal dropping of a pending charge is 5 days. Is Green Dot holding money for a long period for profit?

Having my Walmart MoneyCard helps out 'cause I just push it to the side and send money to it. I've been able to pay almost all my bills online and I also pay other things using the card, which makes it a lot faster 'cause I have a credit union and I have to be in a certain area to reach the Sierra branch of credit union. But sometimes, if I'm not in that region or whenever in an area where I can hit a credit union, I just put the money on the card then just take what I need to pay. Moreover, I've utilized the reload locations in all the Walmarts and I'm already investing into the direct deposit option as well. So, if I get paid on a Friday, I get my paycheck on about Wednesday night.
I'm most impressed with the convenience of having the card right now. Also, I've been reading some of the reviews on it from a survey and saw the type of issues that some people have been having, but I haven't had any of those issues as of now. I've been able to use and get my money. I've had my Walmart MoneyCard for about 4 years now and it's been decent. I've even recommended it to people.

Updated on 10/08/2019: My Walmart Money Card was lost and I had issues going through the Card Website as well as calling the 1-800 number to be able to start the process to have another card issued to me, until today. My review via ConsumerAffairs was viewed by the issuers of the Walmart Money Card and they reached out to me this morning. Everything has been resolved and I will have my new debit card in ten days. I hope that they fix the problem with the information given online how to report card lost as well as the email given to cardholders to report lost or stolen debit cards.
Original Review: My Walmart Money Card (debit card) was lost or stolen several weeks ago. I called the 1-800 and was guided to send an email with my ID and an utility bill. Well, as of today, I do not have my card, so I redid the same process just a few minutes ago. I was able to get my Bluebird card replaced which was missing the same time as my Walmart Debit Card; I received it several days ago, but no news regarding my Walmart Money Card. Since my payroll check is deposited into my Walmart Money Card, we are not able to do much of anything financially. Please help.

I have always been extremely satisfied with my Walmart MoneyCard, until now. I have been using this company for 4 plus years. I reported my account being compromised on 9/20/2019. I was informed to send specific paperwork, which I did, to receive a new card and refunded money. I was promised that this would be settled by 10/3/2019. I have contacted several numbers, inquiring about the status of the replacement card and funds, and my replacement card has just been mailed within the past 2 days. I'm now told that it will take another 7 business days for it to arrive.
The account has NOT been cancelled as I am watching from my online account, money being taken, every day, from my account. The amount is climbing and is now around #2500.00. The numbers listed on my card can no longer be reached until my new card arrives and is activated. Meanwhile....I have no way to remove the money left on my account. I can not pay my bills. I can not pull out money from the ATM. I can only watch it, fraudulently, being removed daily. No funds have been returned at this time. I have now filed a police report as I feel scammed from both sides. I'm extremely worried and disappointed. Please help!

I got a money card on September 12, 2019. Was unable to activate it. I asked for a refund on September 13 and was told I would have a refund on the way in the mail in one business day and that the card was no longer active. So I waited until around the 19th. Called back. Was told that my control number wasn’t able to be found. So the lady asked for my receipt number. I gave her that so she did a claim once again gave me another claim number. So I just called today once again. Was told my control number wasn’t able to be found and I couldn’t get my refund after I was told to discard the card. I have my receipt number from where I brought the card. What should I do?

Cancelled a transaction on September 14th and had the worst experience ever in regards to getting my money back. Whenever I make it through the automated calling system to an actual person, I am met with a series of different people that repeat the same phrases over and over. I ask when I can expect my money back and they tell me that once the merchant releases the funds back they will refill my account, meanwhile, I’m writing my merchant and they said they have voided the transaction immediately and then proceed to send me proof showing that this is the case. I tell this to the customer service representative on the Walmart money card phone line and they tell me that there is absolutely nothing showing them that it’s been voided and it only says pending. It’s been almost three weeks and it feels like I’m stuck in an episode of the twilight zone.

I've had my Walmart MoneyCard for about four years now, and I get my paycheck earlier with direct deposit than any other account I've ever had. It's nice to have when you're in a pinch. In the past, I put cash on there before when I was serving. It's not difficult to do, but you have to go to Walmart and go the customer desk to pay. But I cannot connect Green Dot Bank cards to anything like Cash App or Venmo. I can't use my MoneyCard as an account for those. So, that's kind of a hindrance.

I don't like carrying cash and having the Walmart MoneyCard is the next best thing. It is almost like I have cash. It’s my money when I want it. I don't have to go through banks to see if I can get a certain amount. And it helps manage my money a little better. I do the direct deposit and no matter what job I’m at, I always get my money a day earlier. When I spoke with their customer service to get a new card, they told me what to do. I’ve told people that they should get a Walmart MoneyCard. My son has one now and he likes it.

I got a Walmart MoneyCard to get my check early. And I do get my money early. I also use the card mainly for protection from fraud. I would take deposit on that card and then transfer to my actual bank account. That way, if something happens with my bank account, I always have all my money.

We had a bank account through Chase, but there is no Chase anywhere near Lake City, Florida. It’s a half hour drive in Gainesville. We needed something a little more convenient and I wanted to do a little more research on the banks in the area first. So, I got a Walmart card to put my daughter’s SSI check in until we could figure it out. And with the card, it comes several days earlier than if it were deposited in a bank account. It’s really easy to get money out. The only complaint I have is that the ATM likes to charge so much money. But if you go to Walmart and go to the counter, you can take out any amount and they don’t have a problem.
I wish I had known about the Green Dot Bank Walmart card a long time ago. It’s working out quite well for me right now. I haven’t even put any more effort into searching for a new bank account. Right now, that’s what I’m using as my bank account. I love it. I’ve recommended it to a couple of people. When I bring in more money, I’m hoping to take advantage of that little stash button and exploring it a little more. I’m looking forward to checking stuff out as things come along.

The card is very convenient, in that it provides a routing and account number, just like a checking account. What I wish is that it would accept certain transfers. For example, I am a Lyft driver. Lyft provides the convenience of daily payouts. But my account does not allow that. This is probably the only problem I have with the card.

I placed 2 orders on walmart.com on 9/20 for items that were preordered with my Walmart MoneyCard... 2 pending authorizations were immediate on my account for $138.97 and $53.37. Well, I received an email from walmart.com 9/26 that both my orders were declined. I call them confused because they are pending on my account so why can’t they complete the transaction. I’m told that the pending charges should fall off in a few days and it will be fine. That did not happen and yesterday I get another email from Walmart.com saying it was declined.
I call Walmart money card and try to find out when the amount will “fall off” of pending status. I’m told 10/24!??? Well my preorder was cancelled (I don’t have an extra $200 to just pay for it a second time). I asked if anything can be done to release it sooner—- I’m told nope no one can. I’ve never heard of such a thing! I’ve had this card for at least 12 years. I need my money to try and locate these items for my daughter for Christmas. I preordered because they are hard to get. I looked up online and everything says pending authorizations are 7 days. I’ve called Walmart.com. They told me 5 days. Why is my money being held for a total of 34 days? I need it back immediately! I have proof both orders were canceled.

I'm not sure when Jim and I first got the Walmart Card, around 2010 I guess. Worked great for us since neither of us used banks. Card was in Jim's name but I was primary uploader. And auto pay keeps late charges away. Then Jim passed away in 2013. I started canceling certain services I could not afford alone. One being a cable company on auto pay. I could not believe how nasty I was treated. Insinuating I was a liar and refusing to help me. So I emailed Walmart MoneyCard about my problem and they sent me a new card in 3 days and problem solved! When asked who I bank with, Walmart is always my answer! I love online shopping and never have had a problem using my card online or in stores. It has been great!

If I could give zero stars, I would! I Express paid for my prescriptions through Walgreens text message. The card company put $8.50 in pending status on August 30, 2019. I waited and waited, but they never issued my money back. On September 30, 2019 (today), the pending message and all information related to it miraculously disappeared and the company kept my money! I took screenshots yesterday so good luck to them getting out of it!

I originally got this card for internet purchases and bills but once I started having my paycheck deposited it was great. I have no need for a bank because everything they offer, Walmart is getting there. I wish my paycheck would show up early like some but no luck there, but it's ok. The earlier received the sooner spent. I enjoy my card and I have no worries when it comes to a theft of my card or info because they will work with you to fix it and return your funds. My friend sent me a transfer via MoneyCard that I intended to pick up with my PayPal account. The site keeps giving me the message that "We are unable to complete the requested money transfer at this time" and the only way to speak to a customer service agent is either to have the card details (it's my friend's card, so I do not) or to physically mail a letter. This has been extremely frustrating.

It seem like every time I have tried to dispute anything with this card that was not authorized by me it gets denied! I recently had my purse stolen with all my information written down. I locked my card so no other transactions would take place only to get denied for my hard earn 800 dollars. I rarely do any disputes but when something like this happens I do not receive my funds back that is backed up by FDIC! I do not recommend this card to anyone!

My account was hacked over 2 weeks ago. I called and filed a complaint. Now 8 days ago a notification comes up on my account and said case was closed and the would be crediting the funds back on my account in 1 bussiness day. Well that was 8 days ago now. I call again today and get a different story. Now they are having trouble with their system and it should be in my account by Sept. 30. This is ridiculous.

I had someone steal money by somehow making false charges. I disputed the charges and it had taken over a week and a half to get a response. They found in my favor and money was to be put back on my card within 24 hours. Here I am over a week later and 3 calls talking to 6 different people a day reexplaining the story to each one each time. Every time I am told it will be resolved by the end of the day. I spoke with what they called 2 supervisors yesterday and still no money back on my card. They have outsourced their customer service to India and no one seems to really understand or give a damn about my issue. I just want my money. I have been a card holder for over 12 years and loved it way more than my bank but after this I am in the process of switching back to just a bank.

Made two purchases today. One from Home Depot for 23.66 and one from Jefferson Rentals for 198 which 75 is a deposit to be refunded once I return the tool I rented. Took the home depot item back, was refunded back to my card and the to jefferson rentals and 75 back to my card. I get home and no money is back on my account yet. I call three times and first time I'm told I have to wait 2 days to get my money. The last time I call now they tell me I have to wait till Oct. to get my money. Why are you holding my money????

I have had a Walmart MoneyCard for the last 8 years. Last card expired in June, 2019. First card supposedly sent, waited 2 months but card never arrived. Second card finally received a month later. Tried several times to activate card and only partially succeeded. Online activation produced website error. Telephone activation incomplete due to problems receiving verification code. Contacted Customer Service (a call center located in the Philippines). The helpless worker that answered the call said someone would contact me. Waited several days, still no response. Now it appears I am unable to unlock my account and cannot get to my remaining funds. Need to finally throw this thing away and just get an ATM/debit card from a credit union.

I have had my Walmart MoneyCard for years since 2013. I typically use it for purchases on eBay and other online site. A few days ago Walmart put a hold on my card and won’t release my funds because I can’t remember a telephone from when I open the account. Mind you they have my social security number, birthdate, addresses etc... but because I cannot remember a telephone number from back when.... they’re holding my money. DO NOT BUY THESE CARDS! They are frauds, nobody speaks English and they try to find anyway to keep our money.

Somebody I worked with had a Walmart MoneyCard and at the time, the checks usually went in a day or two earlier so I got it too. Our fiscal checks come out on Friday and it usually goes in on Wednesday. I've recommended Walmart MoneyCard. I only have one reload location here near me though.

I love my Walmart prepaid debit card and it is the card I use primarily everyday. I originally got it for safe online shipping, then I noticed my direct deposits were showing up the majority of the time 3 or so business days ahead of schedule. That was a huge positive, then as I started using the card more and more I discovered all the other great services that came along with using my Walmart prepaid debit card. For example using the piggy bank to be able to stash money away so it’s not tempting me to spend it from my available balance total. Also, being able to pay bills and send money to friends and family without any fees is amazing, and even sending and receiving money and having the option to load to my PayPal account, where it has always shown up immediately for me has been my other favorite perk.
I will finish up by saying, continuously using my Walmart prepaid debit card and earning points and cashback all the while is definitely worth telling people about. This card has ending up being the one thing I am never without. I have gotten numerous friends and family members to switch over and get their own Walmart prepaid debit cards, and every one of them love their cards and sings its praises as well. Thank you Walmart for making it so easy and worthwhile to use the Walmart prepaid debit card. You definitely have a lifetime customer right here! Thank you so much.

My fiance doesn't have a checking account so he purchased this card over 4 years ago. His check from work hours his card 2 days earlier than if he had a checking account. Which is great! There are some places online that will not accept it because it's a reloadable credit card which can be a lil frustrating however, that is fine. When this happens I'll use my debit card from my checking account. No problems there and it's problem solved. I love that I can add money to his card when he's running low on cash in-between paydays. It's convenient and there's no overdraft fees. You cannot go wrong with this card. They accept it almost everywhere to pay your bills online etc. Thank you Green Dot for issuing a new card when his was broken. Same numbers same everything.

I purchased a Walmart MoneyCard to receive direct deposits. This was 3 years ago. I love it. I've never had any issues and if I had a question customer service was great. The phone app makes everything simple and convenient. I receive my money early, everything can be handled in a matter of seconds on the phone. I don't even have to log in to check my balance with the slide for balance on the log in screen. My card is about to expire so I do have to call customer service to inquire on what I need to do because I haven't been able to find info for that. But from past experience I know I'll get the help I need without confusion. I've recommended this card to everyone. Great job!

I had a different prepaid debit card before I used the Walmart MoneyCard and they're pretty comparable. What Walmart does different and better than the previous prepaid card I had is that they don't charge a monthly fee. I have a portion of my direct deposit go to my card so I don't have to pay for a monthly fee and that helps a lot.

Purchase Walmart MoneyCard with $500. Made an online purchase, it was declined. They show that the purchase is pending and you have to wait 2 weeks if it does not go through to receive your money back in your account. It kind of squeezes a small person when they don't have enough money at all ready to begin with. I've already received what I purchased using a different card other than Walmart MoneyCard. Would like to receive my money back since that did not go through. Was told it would still take two weeks. I need the money now to pay bills.

I am beyond frustrated with my experience with WalMart money card. I purchased a card for $250 last Friday to pay some bills online with. I still cannot activate my card 5 days later, as the automated number kicks me off giving me the app address thru text, then the app keeps asking me if my address is actually my address (I'm entering my current address which is on my driver's license). After it asks me this question and I say it is the correct address it then sends me back to the activate information page and this process just happens over and over.
I cannot pay my bills, access money, nor talk to a human or get anywhere online. The physical Walmart store will not refund my money either. I am documenting all my experiences with this and am prepared to sue if need be. After reading all the horror stories online about Walmart MoneyCard basically STEALING people's hard earned money I'm starting yo think there will never be a resolution. But I will not give up. I had a charge on my card on 9/4.. that I didn’t not authorize. I use to use a certain insurance company and I cancelled with them. Well they still took the money out of my account. The rep at Walmart stated I couldn’t do anything until it actually post. The next day it posted. I called to disputed even mailed a copy of the email that stated that it was cancelled. No reply from Walmart MoneyCard. I called today because this is holding up me paying rent and I was hung up on 3 times.. The auto service states they received my info but I have heard nothing and this has cause a hardship on myself as well as my children.

For the first couple of years I only had minor problems with my card. But a week ago today I lost my card at a restaurant and that was the beginning of hell. I asked customer service if there was any other way to get to my money and they basically said no until I report it lost and get a new card or get a new card all together and transfer the money. So I called to report it lost and they said that they had to send a email with instructions on how to send a copy of my driver's license and a utility bill! Wtf. And I never received that email. So next I tried to get a new card. So I go to Wal-Mart, borrowed $20 to load on the card, get the card. I try to transfer my money to this new card and it says I have to wait for my personalized card to come in the mail uggggh so I have money but Walmart is holding it hostage.
In that time I didn't have gas, money for lunch for my kid, money for myself to eat etc.... So anyway I finally get the personalized card and I know I can't send all 1400.00 of my money at a time so I try to do little by little. But when I try to send money to this new card it says I've exceeded my limit when I haven't spent a dime! And that's where I am today. Single parent, no money but yet I work long shifts in the ER to take care of my babies. All I want to do is get all my money off my card and move on but Walmart is holding my money from me.... I'm thinking about getting a lawyer for all of this.

I bought a Wal-Mart MoneyCard just this past September 13, 2019. I put approximately 200 dollars on it. Tried to use it. Could not use it. I tried to register the card about 5 to 10 times via PC computer, phone and smartphone and nothing worked. It keeps asking me to register my card when I registered it many times over and to no avail. I finally after about 45 minutes of trying to reach customer service I reached them. I got a lady who again tried to walk me through the ridiculous registration process which again for the umpteenth time did not work for nothing! I elected to get a refund. I have to wait now 2 weeks, get that man, 2 stinking weeks for my 200 dollar refund? Now you tell me, how fair is that? How fair is that?! Very very very disappointed and I feel very worried I won't get back in my refund.
Here is the deal with this Wal-Mart Money Card from this what...Greed Dot Corporation. Look man, get your registration process working better. It stinks! Yes I said it. It darn stinks!!! Not only that you got my 200 dollars that I have to wait 2 weeks to get back. Very bad experience. Will never ever use Wal-Mart Money Card, Green Dot Moneycard or any other darn money card. I have had a Walmart prepaid BC card for a little over a year with my direct deposit on it. Somehow someone was able to hack into my account and steal almost $500 from me leaving me with $10.40. I was told after I filed a police report which I did I had to mail in a letter along with documentation so they can do an investigation that can take 14 plus days in order for me to get my money back.
They could not provide me the information of what ATM it was taken from, only the city. Would not provide me an address or a phone number where supposedly this money was taken from. I am broke. I have a car payment. I have food to buy except for a that was my pay check and now I have to wait almost 30 days maybe even longer before I see a dime of my money. The supervisors and customer service there are unbelievably rude and unhelpful. Once I get my money back I will be looking for another card to have my business with. I would not recommend this card to no one.

I have had a Walmart money card for probably 8 years if not longer. I purchased a new card at Walmart because I wanted my numbers on my card to be different for security (once again I have had the same card numbers for a long time). I loaded $100.00 on the card. I thought I registered the card, followed instructions on the card package. About a week later I try to swipe my card for a purchase, gives some kind of weird code, basically declined, try again same thing.
So I proceed to register the card online, will not let me, sends me a link. So I follow the link and provide the OVER SENSITIVE information it requires, hit continue and nothing....no message telling me what I did wrong, nothing highlighted in red nothing. Tried it about 3 or 4 more times on my mobile, and desktop. I just want to use my money!! How do I get access to my $100.00?? After many years of service I will not be using a Walmart debit card ever again, unless you highly impress me!!!

I sent in a bunch of disputes that were made on my MoneyCard. It has been well over a month and no word. No refunds or credits other than one disputed company. No one can assist further and sending in the paper work is a nightmare. I have to block my card and unblock it when I need to use it. A complete headache. I’ve been using this card for over 4 years. Definitely disappointed and would like my money back from the disputes I sent in.

I disputed an unauthorized transaction with Walmart MoneyCard and it got denied for them not seeing anything wrong here, that it wasn't their fault and to contact the Merchant directly to get your money back. My identity got stolen and someone withdrew $500 from my account at an ATM. No idea how, since I never lost my card. I am so disgusted, I been using this card for years and now, I feel so vulnerable and don't feel comfortable to use this card or company again. I am going to appeal this and at this point, I wouldn't recommend this card. Your money is just not save here like in a regular bank account.

Walmart MoneyCard is much more affordable compared to other prepaid card providers. I went with them and thus far, I get cash back whenever I use it. I also like the app 'cause when I log into it and it does everything right then and there. It's very functional, easy to read and easy to understand. Overall, Walmart MoneyCard has been satisfying and easy to use.

I as a new business owner bought all my employees the Money card and added $20 as a gift to them to use. I took each employee in our office and tried to register the card. 8 out of 10 cards kept saying could not verify info. It then said card could only be used in store and could not receive direct deposit. The purpose of the card is to use ANYWHERE they want not just at Walmart stores. I had to print checks for each of the employees whom then had to go to check cashing business to pay bills. This is dumb and as a new company on our first pay period is horrible.

At one time I ranted and raved about how great and easy this card was, referred many customers to them. I have now recanted any positive. They have contradicted themselves and their "offshore" customer service is clueless. I was told if I ordered a replacement card, I could still transfer money. One of my cards was held in an ATM during hurricane Dorian preparing, got it back damaged. So I was transferring money to another card. Once I confirmed 3 times I could still transfer money into another account to access my Direct Deposit money, I ordered a new card. Then went to transfer money and was told I can not do such until my personalized card is received. By 14 days later. (Still being printed).
SO THEN also during hurricane preparedness I went to get gas, cancelled that transaction (which mounted to 73.45) on AUG 30. I spoke to customer service the SAME 3 TIMES about cancelling other card, and was told NO MORE THAN 10 BUSINESS days would the money be back on my card. Day 10 came. And I called only to be informed I have until OCTOBER 9TH before my funds would possibly be available and there is absolutely nothing they can do. So when I asked for corporate address she said P.O. box **. I said, "No I am on the BBB website, which of these 9 addresses are the actual address," to then be informed she was unaware of any of the inside the USA address. She is overseas and has no idea which Greendot bank address is correct. So then I tried reaching out yet again, to only get, "Sorry there is nothing we can do, you have to wait."
Well... I have no cash on hand because I relied so much on this card, so no access to my money, no food, no gas to get to work, no help AT ALL. Take it from me. You are better off going to a bank. ANY BANK, and I hate banks. OR if you do use it for online shopping and direct deposits which do in fact load 1-2 days early, then WITHDRAW all funds or be sure of a transaction. Otherwise you will not get your money. Also it would be best to withdraw all money, open a new card before ordering a replacement because you will have no access to YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY to SURVIVE on!! AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! NOT WORTH IT. Customer of 2 years.

Before I got my Walmart MoneyCard, I was using my mom's. She told me that I could just go to Walmart and get one and so I've been using the one I got ever since. Things have been going well so far. With it, I try to save as much as I can and not spend too much on things I don’t need. I use the direct deposit feature and I like how with it, I get my paycheck two days earlier and I don't have to worry about that little fee whenever I reload money into the card.

I have been using this card since Feb, my deposit has always been two days early. Today it is not showing up and I cannot find a number to a live rep. This is has purposed an inconvenience to myself. When I first got the card my deposit would hit around 11 then it began to be later and later and today nothing so far. This seems to be a issue amongst others as well.

Got a Walmart MoneyCard in my name (from Green Dot Bank) that I never opened. I called Green Dot Bank (publicly available number online is (866) 795-7597, but number on card was (877) 937-4098) to cancel the card. I confirmed the number on the card, my name and address (listed in their mailing materials) and confirmed the last 4 digits of my SSN. They asked for my DOB to confirm, which I did not provide for fear of more personally identifiable information being in the hands of unscrupulous people. I was told the information in the system didn't match. I told them of course it didn't match because someone opened this account fraudulently. They would not confirm any more information as to the nature of the account holder. They cancelled the account but would not confirm any more details. I told them I would report the activity and placing an immediate hold on all three credit reporting agencies and reporting activity with the BBB and CU.

I have had the Walmart Moneycard for over 2 years. Without any problems. Last month my account was somehow comprised. As soon as I caught this I gave them a call while transactions were still pending. There about 20 unauthorized charges. I tried to get them to stop them before they went through since these were not mine. I was told I have to wait until they post. I did that. It took over 2 weeks without any answers or return of my funds. The amount was over $1500.00 so this put me in a very bad spot. I am now behind on all my bills. Can't pay my rent. I might lose my apartment.
And then I call today and they tell me my dispute was denied. I am absolutely livid. Whoever is in their investigation department is not doing their job. All of this transactions are from different countries and places I have never even heard of. I cannot lose this money or me and my kids will be out on the streets. Does anyone have any answers for me because Walmart and Green Dot do not care.

I'm disputing a charge against my account that happened on 8-28-19. The charge was completely posted on 8-29-19. I contacted the company that I have the dispute with and they advised me to contact my financial institute. When calling my financial institute they reverted me back to the company and have them reverse the charge. I contacted financial institute again due to errors with filing claim and was told to go online and print out documents because at this time email servers were down. I sent the documents in the mail and on 9-9-19 and on 9-10-19 I was told that my claim was denied and now I will have to wait another ten days to find out why. This has put a burden on my household with finances.
