Walmart money card is a thief. I recently went to a hotel and was charged an additional 173.88 plus another 10.00 for what was pre authorized charges. The hotel bill itself was already 183.88 plus the additional 183.88 which went missing from my card. After contacting the hotel and Walmart MoneyCard customer service over the course of a week, I was told by Walmart MoneyCard that the pending charge or other 183.88 would automatically be put back in my account on the 27th of August.

I was assured by numerous agents throughout the week that this would take place. Well of course the 27th came and no money showed back on my account. I have been lied to all week my Walmart MoneyCard about funds that are mine. This is not a check or a tax refund that was suppose to come to my account, this is my hard earned money that Walmart MoneyCard takes for a joke. I have asked to speak to supervisors all week and I even left my number four times after being told a supervisor would contact me in four hours. Never seen any type of company where it is so hard to talk to a supervisor. Never seen a company who could care less about the money of the individuals who trust them by placing the money in their hands.

I just want my money and I'm tired of being lied to about my money. I live paycheck to paycheck and now I'm in a financial bind because of this. I put off my light bill that was due on the 21st until the 27th going off of what I was told. No money has been put back on my card. I'm willing to get my family lawyer involved if this situation is not taken care of immediately. I will no longer sit here and wait because of the simple fact I have already waited and was lied to about numerous things. Things like the date of my funds being available, supervisor calling me back.

As far as evidence I recorded phone calls from Walmart as well as screenshots of promises on their websites as well as screenshots of other people with the same complaints as mine. As well as my online check history. My lawyer, well my family lawyer will be handling this situation if it is not resolved immediately. I WANT MY MONEY.

I have had a card for 4 years with minimal issues. Earlier this year my card number was fraudulently obtained and used. I contacted customer service & suspended the card. I was told to wait 14 days before I request an investigation & was charged to have new cards sent to me. Long story short, I decided to request an investigation immediately & I received the $ back for all of the transactions but one. A letter came in the mail with no contact information saying that the investigation was closed and a determination letter would come. That letter never came & to this day no one can help me figure out why 1 of the disputed transactions wasn't refunded. I also don't like that your card balance shows up on your food merchant receipts when you pay, which could've added to my problem!!!

I have been with Wal-Mart Moneycard for little over 3 years now. I've never had a problem... Until last week. I logged in to check my balance, and the ledger showed a balance that was $60 less than my available card balance. I called in to customer service, and they gave me some bogus story about how their end shows a different amount and my end has not refreshed to what their system shows. Whatever. First time it's happened. Well it happened again today. This time it's a $650 discrepancy, and they tell me that my system is incorrect and I need to use a different computer. I tell them that I've used 5 different devices, including the one I've used for the last 3 years and they all show the same thing.

The agent continued to tell me that I was incorrect, and the balance is what he shows. After demanding several times to speak with a supervisor (he didn't want to transfer me. He wanted to keep telling me what my balance really is.) I finally was patched through to a supervisor. Supposedly they are forwarding this to the technical department to get to the bottom of it, and I will hear back within 4 hours. In the meantime, I have no idea what my balance actually is or where the missing $650 went, so I have to wait for them to probably tell me that my balance is what they show because they have control over my money and can do with it what they want. Needless to say, I will be leaving MoneyCard and going elsewhere, NEVER to recommend MoneyCard to ANYONE again.

I have had a Walmart card for a few months now. No major purchases or issues. I used Lyft taxi service and they have a policy to pend $25 until you pay for your fare. Once you pay your fare the hold is lifted and the pending charge goes back on your card within minutes. I actually used LYFT to go to Walmart. I didn't realize there was this hold until my transaction was denied at the register (embarrassing). Worse still, I had no way to get another Uber home. Humiliated, I put my items back and called customer service, at this point wanting me and my son to just get home. They told me there was a block on my account due to "suspicious charges". Ok cool.

I spoke with an agent, let her know what was happening--she should release the funds right? WRONG. She told me it would be September 2 before the hold lifted. A WHOLE WEEK. Why? The charge is still PENDING. Walmart put the block on my card allegedly to protect me but how? I asked to speak to a manger and was forwarded back to the automated system. Walmart is sloppy. Their customer service is terrible. I will close this card ASAP and get a real bank. I'm so disappointed because I enjoy the discount at the store while shopping with their card.

I've been using the MoneyCard for a couple of years now with no problem, but this past year or so, they've had so many issues. I never know how much is in my account. I won't touch it and it's always changing. When I call the number on the back of the card, I always get the same story. "We're having technical issues. This is how much is really in your account right now. Ignore what the site says." Okay, so, this happening one time, I can understand, but it's been a constant problem for the past few months. Save yourself the trouble of never having access to your money. Don't get this card.

I purchased the Walmart money card in order to make a bill payment and had planned on setting up as a method for my direct deposit if it worked well. It didn't. I got the card on the way to work and registered it almost right away. I received a message that said "We're sorry we cannot verify your information and you are not eligible for a permanent card." So like a normal customer, I called the number on the back of this useless card to find out why or what information could not be verified, and the geniuses on the other end of the line "can't give me that information" despite the fact that it pertains to my information and my access to MY money.

Beyond that, I asked several different questions of more than one agent to come up with some kind of reasonable solution so that I could either retrieve my money or make my payment, to which they had absolutely no response but, "I'm sorry." I gave up trying to argue with the service line and paid for a western union bill pay service using the card at a register at my local Walgreens, and then the next day receive an email that "your bank has declined this transfer."

Upon researching this issue, I see that there is a $5 monthly service fee on this card that has no monthly service available due to the lack of verification of miscellaneous personal information that can't be talked about for God knows why. This caused a negative balance of -3.50, when I purposely underpaid my bill to be safe in case some other fee came through and there had been a $1.50 balance on the card. Now my car is subject to repossession and customer service has no answer as to when the money will be available on the card that apparently was never sent to western union, or has otherwise evaporated into the ether. I will tell everyone I know to never use any product from Walmart, or any other product with the Green Dot label again and have never been treated by a company so poorly after seeking out a product!

I have been a long standing customer of Walmart Money Card for several years and had positive service until May 2016. The first issue happened when they supposedly had a system upgrade. I had over $600.00 come up magically missing from my account for over 7 days therefore causing bills to be late and unable to get groceries and medication. Oh and btw I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer too. Then on July 1st the atm did not dispense my funds - $401.50 to be exact. I filed the dispute after 7 tries of emailing them the information and talking to various representatives all with a different answer it finally was received. 10 days later I am told my dispute has been denied. Ok... I have that kind of money to not be refunded to me. I talked with the bank who owns the atm who informed that Walmart Money Card/Green Dot Corp is responsible for whether I get my money back.

So I filed the dispute again and again got denied after 10 days of course. Spoke with several representatives and supervisors with no answers and asked to speak with a corporate supervisor. After going through what seemed like Fort Knox talked to Joseph and he told me he would work with the resolution team and get back to me within a few hours... 9 hours later went through the same thing talked with David this time who told me Joseph would contact me with a resolution. Still waiting for that call, still do not have my money. Will be contacting the Attorney General and canceling my card. Very rude unhelpful customer service. Seem to like deciding whether you deserve your money to be refunded to you.

UPDATED ON 08/30/2016: I have already written 2 times and have dealt with their customer service representatives, account specialists, account supervisors, dispute department specialist and supposed corporate account manager - all of but 1 of them could barely speak English and all with the same line our dispute team/risk management team have said "your dispute has been denied." Seriously - have spoken to attorney general and an attorney... Both say "yes you have a great case" and instead of only costing them the return of my $701.50 it will then cost them about $10,000. Stop playing God with people's money. Did not use this card, it is a ripoff.

I used to be very happy with the money card. I've used them a few years now. I never had any of the problems anyone on here described, until my wallet was stolen. Then they showed their true colors. I called to see if I could pay to get my card expedited, as I was going to take my kids to the State Fair next week. The woman said I wasn't eligible. So I emailed them with no response yet. Both of my credit cards went so far as to expedite my cards for free, and really seemed to genuinely feel bad and want to help. Now, I'm definitely not a fan of the major credit card companies, but it was nice.

I had $200 in "the vault" that I was protecting in case someone tried to use my card, so I put the minimum I needed for available balance in case Netflix came out, etc. Now the vault area of the website says "You're no longer eligible to access the Vault. If you had a Vault balance, it has been transferred back to your card." No, it hasn't. It still has $12.67. So where is my $200?? In addition, I received an email that said: "We have identified unusual activity on your card. To protect your funds we have temporarily turned off your card. What you need to do:

1.Call us immediately at the number on the back of your card.
    2.Have your card number ready.

    3.Choose the support option."

So are they NOT working on my replacement card? Or is that just a standard email when they deactivate a card? What is going on and where is my money? I'm so very disappointed - I'm already upset enough having to replace everything in my wallet and having no available money, in addition to not being sure when I can take my kids to the fair next week. I can't believe they allow this to continue. This is people's MONEY we are talking about - bills, kids, homes. This isn't something that should be taken so lightly. The last time I got a card (they replaced cards from people whose accounts were compromised last year by the various hacks for free) it was a debacle as well. But I just chalked that up to an honest mistake. This is more than that.

There's just no communication as to what is going on. For example, if that email was automatic when a card is deactivated, why doesn't it say the correct info? Where did my vault balance go? I have to honestly say now to avoid MoneyCard, which is too bad, because they had a lot of features I liked. But when you truly need help, they just don't care.

They canceled my current card and now I'm stuck waiting for a new one with NO ACCESS TO MY MONEY. I have not once been sent an email that said my card replacement has been ordered. Sent an email and didn't get a response. I have reasons why I can't call right now. Customer service and response is ridiculous. Since it was not my fault I never received the replacement why do I have to pay $18 plus have my old card canceled with no money access. I ended up losing my place due to this delayed direct deposit and now because of Walmart MoneyCard, I am frantically searching for a homeless shelter. This is preposterous and completely inconsiderate for this to happen to a hard working people, I wish I never used this card in the first place as I am in a worse off situation. I get home from work on August 12th to find that someone had spent over $466 dollars on bestbuy.com to buy an XBOX One and wireless controller. I immediately called the number on my card to dispute, since, obviously, I did not purchase an XBOX One. The lady who took my call was nice, but sounded like a robot and told me that since the payment was only pending, that I could not yet file my dispute, since it needed to post first. I waited until the amount cleared and called back.

The next person I spoke to was also very nice, but still sounded like a robot. I spoke to the person on the phone about the charge and they gave me a claim number. I was then transferred to an automated recording that told me that I also needed to send in a dispute form, which I did immediately. I also filed a police report and a fraud dispute with Best Buy (who has also been zero help whatsoever).

I called back in the following day to check to see if they'd received my email, and the agent transferred me right back to the automated system I'd just gone through. I hung up, called back, and again asked to speak to someone about my dispute. Again, I was transferred to the automated system which offered me no help whatsoever. I still have received no phone calls, no emails, no follow up whatsoever. Still have been unable to speak to anyone about my dispute.

The form I filled out and the automated message I was transferred to after filing my dispute says my money will be returned after 10 days after they receive my request, even if they still need to investigate, but I have no way to ascertain whether or not they received the required form or the status of my dispute, no way to know when my money is going to be returned to me. I don't understand how this whole situation can mean absolutely nothing to either Best Buy or Walmart.

I have had my card for a very long time. I rely on it to pay my bills, online shopping etc. On august 15, 2016, I used my card to put money on a account for an incarcerated family member. I made two transactions with this company on the same day within minutes of each one. Well two days later I was expecting a purchase refunded to my card, so I used the app on my phone to see had the money been added back to my card only to see that my card had a negative balance of over 50.00 dollars. I was in total shock! Mainly because my card is a prepaid card and I have never ever been able to go over the balance of what I have on the card! I tried the day before to purchase something that was 4.79 and my transaction was declined because my card balance was only 4.78!

I called customer service right away and was told that the company that I used to send funds to my brother charged my card twice which still didn't make sense because after I made those transactions I only had 4.78 left. When my refund that I was expecting posted to my account they took my money. I told them that I contacted the people they say made the charges and they said they did not charge me any more than what I authorized and that they had already received their payment. I was told that the charges were still pending from the company and I could not get my funds back for seven more days.

I think this was totally unfair to me for one main reason. My card does not allow for overdrafts so it was impossible for anyone to have charge me anything in that amount because there was no money there. I'm going to file a formal complaint with the proper authorities because as far as I'm concerned Walmart MoneyCard by Green Dot stole my money!

I told them that was unacceptable as obviously nobody "compromised" my card and I needed those funds for books and this would put me a WEEK behind in school!

I was transferred 6 times! Where I had to repeat my story each time and at one point was hung up on by a woman named Maria. Each time I was transferred I was told the exact same computer screen prompt, that there is no supervisor to speak to and that they would could expedite me a card for $16. Eventually they decided to waive the $16 fee. When the card did not arrive I was told it was shipped NORMALLY and would take 7-10 business days to be received, all the while I still have no books, bills are now late and I am wondering if I will have gas $ to get to work. I went to transfer for funds from my Walmart MoneyCard vault back to the available funds account and I received an error message saying that I have reached my transfer limit. I made seven transfers and I am allowed 20 per day. So when I received the message I called the number on the back of the card for assistance. It was confirmed that the error was on Walmart and the IT department would have to fix it and I would receive a callback afterwards. Never received a call and had to call back. Then I was told to allow 2 hours for a callback and again nothing. 18 hours later I called back and was told it would be a priority and if I had any other issues.

I told her about an unauthorized transaction and she said she would transfer me. I specifically asked her if this would interfere with me getting my money and she assured me it wouldn't. Well as soon as the transfer was complete the rep told me that the card was deactivated once it was reported. I asked him to reactivate and he said he couldn't. So he basically told me that there was nothing he could do and I have to wait 7-10 business days before I can access any funds even if another direct deposit came through. So I asked if I could buy another card and have the funds transferred and he said no. Everyone I talked to said, "No. It can't be done."

My city was declared a disaster area due to flooding. I lost everything including house and car. I explained this to them and the fact that it was vital that I receive my money because it was clearly their error. Again they said it was nothing they can do and I have to wait. They said "we are sending the card to the address on file" and I asked how can I receive a card to a house underwater. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen.

I received an email that there was suspicious activity detected and that my card was suspended to call to verify. I called and told customer service rep (who barely speaks English) I recognized the activity and to unsuspend the card. She tells me she can't that I will have to get a new card in 7-10 business days. I explain to her that my payday is coming Friday and why should I have to wait. So she says as a one time courtesy she will send it expedited shipping. Mind you I never asked for a new card. So everyday I am calling to make sure they actually sent it. Never received the card. Today is my payday but I can't get paid. So I call and these idiots tell me they are gonna send out yet another card that I will receive in 3 business days. Once I receive that card I will immediately be canceling my service with Walmart.

    Reviewed Aug. 19, 2016

We've had a card for years, and while we've experienced a few problems, it never caused us too much concern - until now. My husband is the primary card holder, but I have been right beside him as this has happened, except for 2 phone calls. 8/13 my husband discovered he had lost his card. Retraced his steps, but didn't find it. Called and reported it lost, and because he loads ALL of his check on it, except for a very small amount of cash, we were concerned about not being able to access my funds.

We expressed this to the Account Specialist (what a joke). She told him since I also have a card/account we could transfer the funds and the site would walk us through it. Nope. After finally getting through on the phone, using my number, we were told his card won't do that. But mine does which didn't do us any good. They offered no alternatives or help, except to say we could expedite the card for $15. That was lie #1 we were told by this card company.

Didn't want to pay extra, but needed the card. THEN she tells us that my husband would have to call and VERIFY that I wanted the card expedited on Monday, 8/15. We asked her why this needed to be done, and she couldn't even begin to tell us, just that he had to do it. This woman, who was supposedly a supervisor, also told my husband that because of his work and cell signal, that I could call and do this verification. That was lie #2.

My husband was able to get a cell signal, by driving off his job site, before 1 p.m., on 8/15, to call and VERIFY that we wanted this card expedited. We were told we would have the card in 2-3 business days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - three days and no card. Thursday - a card is there and when I tried to activate it online, it said it was already activated. We had pitch in at our American Legion last night, so I called and placed an order for food for us to take, and we stopped to get gas. I go up to the window to pay and the card was declined. Tried it as credit - it was declined.

We were never told exactly what the screw up was, but the card we got yesterday had an expiration date of 08/20 - and it was made invalid because of the card company. The "good" card has an expiration of 09/20 and there was no way to make the card we got yesterday active. We asked for a refund of the $15 because your company obviously did not hold up to the GUARANTEE of 2-3 days. She refused. Only kept repeating the same thing about getting the card yesterday - which yes, we got a card yesterday, but it wasn't any good! She also insisted that we would get the card today, 8/16. Guess what? NO CARD!!

My husband tried to call and the system told him his birth date and last four of his social security are "invalid" and promptly disconnected him. He then asked me to text him the card number (from the wrong card received yesterday), and finally got through to a service rep, who proceeded to ask him - and I love this - if he wanted to have the card that is currently on its way to us, to be cancelled and then they re-issue us another one? He of course told her no, just in case we do get the one in the mail currently, within the next 50 years.

He then asked if the call was being recorded, and was told yes. He wanted to make sure they got a recording of him telling them that we are contacting an attorney and would be seeking compensation for $18 ($15 for 2/3 day service that hasn't been received + the card fee), as well as compensation for mental anguish because of being told lies. Because the card was not received by yesterday, as we were promised, we have now accrued late fees. The service rep, at this point, then tells him that the call is NOT being recorded and she is hanging up and hung up on him.

So beware, to anyone who is wanting to use this card, with the current service company. You can't get through to a live person unless you have a VALID card. On Saturday, I was having trouble understanding the rep, and asked to speak to an American supervisor - didn't have one. Asked to speak to any supervisor - there isn't any, one answer, and "I am one" on the second request. At this point, I feel as if this company is holding my money, which should be $450 but is $430 because of paying for a service I in no way received, hostage.

Yes, I know I shouldn't have lost the card. Life happens. But people should not be treated this way. It's just not right. I've got bills that have to be paid, so that is why we wanted the card as quickly as we could get it, even if it meant spending $15 (which we really don't have to begin with) to get it here as quickly as possible.

The charges on my card are often 5-10 days late, and when I encounter situations that require a temporary hold on the card, the hold can last the standard "5-10 days." The reason Walmart does this is so that they can always maintain a large cash balance on their books. They string out payments to keep the cash artificially high and keep the holds in place to do the very same thing - to keep cash on the card for an extended period of time. The more cash on the cards, the more interest they collect on a whole. On that note, I hardly ever get a correct balance when I text to check on my phone. At first I thought it was a major technical glitch... then I realized the truth: The balance on my card wasn't based on my transactions, it was based on Walmart's artificial measure of my account balance.

There were numerous times where the balance was off by $50 or more, to the point where I had to tabulate my expenses on a paper ledger. Why? Because they think most of us aren't smart enough to realize that they are shuffling money to keep their books high, and their interest up. They think most of us will look at irregularities in our account and say, "Huh, that's weird," without taking a further look at the situation. I'm here to tell you, I took a further look at the situation and found it to be a giant money shuffle. I cannot believe that they shuffle money in people's personal accounts like that, and think that they will just sit back and accept it. I for one, will not. And I hope you will not accept that either.

But with the money card, I still don't see my money still after 2 and a half weeks. I've contacted them several times. No one seems to understand what my issue is and that's crap. I charged a 5.00 tip at a nail salon. The salon decided to charge that tip and an additional 185.00!! I called Walmart Visa Card as soon as I noticed it. I started a dispute and was told to send in their dispute form via email. I emailed it 7 times over a 3 day period. All 7 times they said they did not receive it. Then I called and emailed it to the gentleman while he was on the phone with me. He stated he received it and to call back on 8/17/2016 that would be the 10th day.

I call this morning and am told they don't have my letter. After about 20 minutes the woman tells me she sees a note that the letter was received but there is no attachment. Then says that the investigation team has not made a decision and we must wait for an update and a letter in the mail. I was originally told this would be handled by the 10th business day and if they needed more time I would get a provisional credit. How can they make a decision now without my letter that they magically lost? I have had my paychecks deposited every two weeks to this card and have had this card over a year and a half. My car payment is now late because this money was taken. After this experience I will be switching my paycheck to a card with better customer service.

Sometimes when you don't have patience you may say things that may offend others but after my second time having a problem at this ATM machine my money was refunded to my card after ten days. Thanks, Walmart MoneyCard. The timing couldn't be better.

    Original Review: Aug. 17, 2016

I have been using my Walmart MoneyCard for 3 years and I went to an ATM machine to withdraw 380.00 dollars and the machine didn't dispense the money but I was charged the full amount and didn't receive any money. So now I'm out of money and the limit for cash from ATM has been reached and I have no cash. So I called the number on back of card and speak to someone with customer support and this is the second time this has happened and the specialist that's required to help me tells me I have to wait 2 weeks... I spoke to the manager of the bank's ATM machine about what happened and the manager told me when the ATM machine didn't dispense money an alert/notification was sent to my card bank immediately letting the bank know what happened... So why does it take an inconvenience of two weeks to have my money added to my card when I'm in need of my cash now. I feel someone is trying to keep the money.

I have had Walmart Money Cards for over 6 years. On Friday 8/12/16, I made the following deposits to my cards: Card #1 - 2 deposits of $1,000 cash each. Card #2 - 2 deposits of $1,000 cash each. On Saturday 8/13/16, I tried using one of the cards for a purchase, but it was declined. I was told by the merchant that I needed to call the card issuer.

I called the Walmart Money Card customer service line and got the following pre-recorded response: "Your card is currently blocked. In order to unblock your card, it is important that you listen to the following message in its entirety, then confirm you have heard and understand it. A review of your card activity has resulted in a decision to close your card. You will no longer be able to reload your card. Any attempt to add money to your card will be rejected including direct deposits. If you are enrolled in direct deposit, you will need to stop it with the sender. Also note, you will not be able to open any new cards with us. To confirm your understanding and to regain access to the funds on your card, press star now."

No explanation was given as to what I did wrong. This same thing happened to someone else that I know. She made numerous calls to find out why her cards were been closed without explanation. Each time she got someone in the Philippines who said they could not tell her why and that she will not be getting an explanation in the mail. Also, they told her she had no right of appeal. I have not violated my card holder agreement. If I have, I deserve an explanation as to what I did wrong. This arbitrarily cancellation of credit cards without an explanation is definitely a violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practice Act and Biblical Morality Laws.

I intend to pursue this matter to the full extent of the law and to eventually turn this matter into a Class Action lawsuit. As aforementioned, I do know another person who has been harmed in the same manner as myself. I have just started a nonprofit organization to go after the "Goliaths" of this world who are causing harm to "God's sheep". It is now time for a "David" to rise up and take on the "Goliaths".

Per Sam Walton, "Personal and moral integrity is one of our basic fundamentals and it has to start with each of us." Walmart's joining the financial world has obviously caused it to lose its "moral integrity." Per Sam Walton, "There is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else." Walmart operates its Walmart Money Card as if it is too big to be fired. With God on my side, I am going to challenge that belief.

Per Sam Walton, "I have always been driven to buck the system, to innovate, to take things beyond where they've been." I am going to take this matter much further than where it has gone before using very innovative ways that buck's system of how matters like this have been previously handled. This is a perfect cause for the "faith base community", social media, news media, Walmart competitors, and politicians to rally around.

HOW EXACTLY can they use your card number WITHOUT HAVING THE CARD, DOESN'T anyone CHECK ID and why would they allow you to punch in your card number written on a piece of paper 7 times in the same store... I have had the Walmart Moneycard for 3 years and truly loved it - no surprises and couldn't be happier. Then they did something to the system and the way the transactions were handled a few months ago. My pay was put in the same time like clockwork for the first 2 years - if there was a problem, I knew it was from my co. The minute the computer was down one night stating they are redoing their systems was literally when every problem began. Each time gas is put in, they take out $85 and it's held. It's put back in but stays a negative balance. My pay is now two hours later, if on time, and I never know how much is actually in my account anymore. To budget it looking at the statement is really impossible - they begin as a negative and add the transactions then reverse them when the gas charges (or any charge at all that is a hold) is cleared. Once this took 5 days.

By the end of the week my card was showing that 85 was put back in. I went to purchase something and was declined. All transactions online showed the balance being at 85 but when I called, the wonderful woman told me (finally after some time of communication) that there was 0 in my account due to one of the 4 gas transactions of the week not being put back in and then credited but that it would still show the balance as 85. She said I have to go online and backtrack every transaction, then add it. Both my husband and I looked at the statement and were absolutely appalled - this is impossible to figure out - the account shows negative for each and every transaction for weeks.

I work delivery and go through gas like water - my account shows only these negatives and pendings from the moment my check is put in. I was livid. I was embarrassed and frankly very glad to have put a little aside for the last day before payday again but was thinking I still had almost a hundred in my account. This is absolute fraud. We were never told any changes would affect us so drastically but now everything is unreliable. I am getting my card switched to our bank account (I actually preferred this to the bank as it was so wonderful and the fees were not surprises) and direct deposit going back into the bank. This card is history.

I don't think I'm the only one with these new problems as they have had apologies on the website from the time they changed the system. What a freakin' mess. I think this new garbage with holds, etc is their way to make more money by holding anything going into my account longer. I used to deal with literally thousands each month-that makes this dangerous to play around with. I never thought to see so many problems after so many years of really being thankful for this card. Beware new buyer - use Greendot or some other way. If using this card, don't use it as a moneycard. Get your money out as soon as you get it and pay in cash. Now my golden rule.

My account was compromised on July 31, 2016. They took $917.00, they went from Walmart to Walmart in $50 increments. I understand this happens, the bank noticed the fraud activity, shut my card down. However, after nine days I still do not have my money, my rent and my car payment is late. They want me to wait for another week, this is so unacceptable. I can't sleep can hardly eat. They know I did not do this, it was done in Texas. I do not live in Texas. I am so disappointed in Walmart to be connected with a bank that does not care about their customers. And it is almost impossible to get a live person, and when you do they have not answers for you. I will never use them again, and will probably never shop there again either. And shop a lot at Walmart. Will also report them to the BBB.

This is the second time that this has happened to me. Someone used my card in Arizona and they stole around 500 dollars. They used the card in different Walmarts, a Lowe's and a home depot. The last time this happened to me they stole around 200 dollars. And I called Walmart Money Network and again I will have to wait for the stupid dispute letter (which itself is useless because they only ask you "What happened, Did you give your pin to someone else, how much did they take." That's it!!!) I already told all that to the guy who I spoke in the Walmart Money Network call center and I still have to wait more than 20 days and only IF THEY wish to refund me my money.

And I found out about this because I receive alerts whenever more than 100 dollars are withdrawn. I had to run at 5am to a nearest bank so I could save whatever money I had left there or else these ** will continue to buy ** with my money. And my complain is why the ** this happened again and why the ** do I have to ** wait AGAIN for this **! Do they think I'm stealing my own ** money 300 miles from where I live and then come back to where I live to make the call? In 10 ** minutes!!? This is ** stupid.

This Walmart Money Card is only a couple of weeks old. I set a pin over the phone and used it last week to withdraw money out on it by an acquaintance who activated the card in another state and mailed it to me. This past Friday I went to an atm to withdraw money and it said my pin number was invalid. I was certain it was correct so tried it again and again. Then the atm took my card! I called the 800 customer service number and all they could say was they were sorry and could mail a new card.

When calling the automated system it said I had a balance available but it was $2.50 lower than earlier in the day and it hadn't been used. The balance changes quite often for no reason. I got the card back from the bank this morning and tried using it at the teller but they said the system doesn't even recognize the card, like it's not a valid card!

Tried it at the grocery store and it said pin was invalid and card was invalid. There is NO REASON at all for this action and why on earth it has happened is beyond irresponsible. I must access this money within the next two days or bills will go unpaid. This is unacceptable not to mention the lack of support and any efforts to correct immediately a problem. I don't know if this is widespread such as the problem in May of this year or if it's only affecting me? Regardless I need answers and my money and will never, ever use this card again. This should be a crime and Walmart and Green Dot should be prosecuted. If one of us would have done this we certainly would be as this is fraud, theft, and deceptive practices. Now what do I do?

As if I don't know who I am, then I can't use it for the intended purpose of paying a bill because the address can't be verified. Oh and I'm getting charged a 5 dollar recurring fee and won't be getting a personalized card either. So, how is this fair? Best part, called and spoke to a human and they put me on hold to play an automated message telling me all of this information again! So even talking to a human, albeit they are in the Middle East, I get zero help! Fix this!

Walmart is not loyal to their card holders. I bought a prepaid card from them 5 weeks ago and still havent received my card with my name on it. So I log in to my account to let them know I havent received my card and I change the address to make sure I get my card. So I go to Walmart, paid $3 to cash my check and paid $3 to load it on my card. Now let me remind you Im in San Antonio Texas and Im from Mobile Al. So I was trying to book me a ticket to ride the megabus back home cause I dont have a car. When I tried to book my ticket it kept declining my card. So I checked my balance and see $3 was taking off for a replacement card that I never received.

So I call the 800# on back of the card. They tell me that I reported my card lost which I didnt and that they locked my card up so I couldnt use it. So I didnt know they done this at the time I loaded my check up on the card. So they allowed me to put money on my card even though had then locked my card up. That's ridiculous. So here I am stuck in texas because of a mistake they made and holding on to my money. All I could do is cry cause I need to get back home to my kids. I think we all to come together and sue Walmart for all the funds and fees they have took from us all cause is not right. They have people working for them in customer service who tells you they dont even have a supervisor. And I have them on recording telling me that lost/stolen and never received card mean the same thing. There is no way they both mean the same. Im just too upset Im just praying they send this card on so I can get my money and cut this card up.

I have had my card for a few years now and didn't have a problem until 5/2016. I was sitting in my house and my text started going off that I was using my card in Arizona! Where I do not live. I called, filed the dispute, no problem. Then on 6/30/2016, I was in Orlando, Florida. Received text that my card was being used back to back to back. I was racing whoever was using my card to stop it. Finally got through to a person. She cancelled my card. I filed the dispute, they came back and told me I had shopped at "Walmart" before it was in my home state so they were denying my claim. I appealed, asked for proof. Did I sign? Did I use my PIN?

Every other transaction around it for the next week were in Orlando, Florida where I was, so how is it possible. They still denied my claim based on I had been to "Walmart" (although NEVER to that location which is an hour away from me). I could clearly prove it wasn't me, but they have and won't submit that it clearly was and won't give me my nearly $200 back.

I then have another claim for the card that was compromised with a "pending" transaction where the merchant held funds on 6/24/2016, charged my card 7/3/2016. Funds should have been released according to both merchant and Walmart card by 6/29/2016. Here we are 7/29/2016 and the funds are still held and Walmart card is telling me I have to wait until 8/25/2016 before it falls off. WHAT???

I'm sorry, they are just really ripping people off. I went to see how to file a consumer complaint and it appears that the same dates that I am having a problem with, they had several people with the same types of problems and they have denied the claims!!! I think it's time to start a class action suit or something. They can't just steal peoples hard earned money!

I have had an account through Walmart's Green Dot bank for several years and every experience I have with customer service is terrible. Firstly every time I call I get someone from another country which I barely understand what they are saying and I don't think they do either. The online banking system only works half the time and I usually get a pop up saying "OOPS we can't pull up your info at this time sorry." Really it's my banking info and that's their job to make sure it's readily available. Then if I should be so lucky to have a credit to my account it shows in green print but literally takes weeks to post, and every single time I call to ask about the credit I kid you not they tell me it will be exactly 1 week from the time I call. Even if I call 2 days later they will say 1 week from that day.

Sometimes charges or credits that appear one day will magically disappear altogether and I will ask about it, but the Reps literally tell me that they never existed and can't see that they ever had (so I have to take constant screen shots of my info). I must also mention the ATM fee scam they have going on. No matter where I go I get charged an ATM fee. I get that, but on top of that fee Walmart money card (green dot bank, and 2 other banks they use) charge an additional 3$. Oh by the way if your account says you have available funds of 200$ whether you call to find out or online that definitely does not mean you actually have 200$. Why would your statement say available funds if over half of that money is pending and NOT available? So you get declined at checkout and embarrassed as hell!! Makes no sense to me!

It's really sad that I'm terrified to even write this review because these people literally do whatever they want with people's accounts and money so I hope they don't make my money disappear. It's sad that I am very very hesitant to even dispute the smallest of problems because I know a ton of people that had their accounts just frozen after hanging up the phone with them even after nothing was said about taking such action and retrieving their money was then a long drawn out ordeal which included BEGGING for their own money!

I have no idea how it is that after countless hundreds of thousands ludicrous complaints this Bank or organization could possibly still be available to the public. Now you ask why don't you just change banks? Well I have, but I have ongoing bullcrap disputes which I'm trying to retrieve my hard earned money back. Well here goes nothing. I hope I still have access to my account after this posts. By the way there is so much more I need to tell everyone about, but I'm simply tired of giving up any more of my time and effort to this ridiculous organization.

I had cancelled a charge that was made to my debit card. It had been 6 days and the money had not been returned to my account, so I called the merchant. The merchant stated that my money was refunded and to check with my banking institution. I called Walmart MoneyCard and they stated that I needed to dispute the transaction in order to get it reviewed so I did that. It has been 6 days and so I decided to call to check the status of the dispute on that day July 19th 2016. I was told that it would be a couple more days. The very next day when I tried to use my debit card to withdraw funds from my account the ATM spit my card out and said that my card has been retained and to contact my banking institution. I called Walmart MoneyCard yet again and I was told that when I called January 19th 2016 that I reported the charge as being fraudulent so my card was frozen.

I explained that I did not tell the representative that the charge was fraudulent and demanded to speak to someone because without my debit card of course I have no access to my money until I receive a new card. They stated that they mailed the card and that I should have it within a few days. Needless to say I just received the card today and it was supposed to be sent to me for expedited shipping. On another note every time I called I spoke to someone who could barely understand me and I could barely understand them and they seemed not to understand what I was saying. They were very unhelpful. I would not recommend this card to anyone. Not even an enemy.

On Friday, July 1st, my Wal-Mart debit card was hit with 20 fraudulent debits. Ironically, 19 were to Wal-Mart, one was to KFC. The total was for over $900.00. Many of the debits were for exactly $50.00. Many others had a different amount, but were duplicated as well; a sure sign to the people in charge that there was a problem. Did they call me? NO. I found out about the problem when I tried to use my card and it was declined. Of course I called and spoke with someone with an Indian accent and could not understand anything they said. I asked for someone else and was told to call back. I did and still could not understand the other party.

Forty five later after numerous calls I was able to speak with a supervisor. I was told that it could take up to 8 days before my funds were returned. I was told that a new card would be issued and that could take until the 18th to arrive. I was furious. I asked for the card to be expedited, and after much argument, I was told they would do so and would waive the fee. I continued to monitor my balance and transactions over the weekend. On Tuesday, my account was hit for a $15.00 fee for expediting delivery of my new card. I called again, and they told me their notes indicated that I agree to pay the $15 fee. I asked for a supervisor and was told that there was not one available for me to speak with. I demanded to speak with one and was told, over and over..."I am sorry sir but we can't help you."

This is absolutely unacceptable for a company that has over one billion dollars in sales per day. No other company that I know of has such a terrible customer service department and such unrealistic policies and time frames for fixing a problem regarding fraud. All other banks return your money immediately. I will never go to Wal-Mart again. I will share this story with everyone I know. I will be calling my local TV station to report this. I want this to become a national story. Shame on you Wal-Mart. You suck.

My problems seem minor to all the others I see. I wish I had read all the negative reviews before I was dumb enough to open an account. At this point they owe me at least $150 dollars. All for suppose transactions I never made and money owed off the card after closing. The first instance was when I made a $100 dollar money back at Walmarts in which my card was charged $200. I argued and argued with them for my money but of course they refused to give it back. I finally called Walmart and they checked the cameras for the transaction and found it was $100 dollars. Needless to say... they got my money.

The second time was recent and $30 dollars was taken out of my account. According to Walmart card it went to another bank but when I called them they showed one payment to them and even sent a letter for me to pass on to Walmart. And again they kept my money and told me they had to send me a new card because my account was compromised. I had to practically beg for them to give me time to get most of the money off my card, they gave me 1 hour.

After I pulled most of my money off the card there was a small balance of $16.99 and I asked this amount to be sent to me in the form of a check. That was June 7th. I received a email today saying my refund had been sent. BS. I called them yet again and this time I am told my refund was 93 cents. They told me the other didn't belong to me.

I have given up at this time but maybe all of us should file complaints with our state Attorney General. I don't know but they will NEVER get my business again. I took my business to a local bank in which I have no monthly charges and I receive notices if my account goes below an certain amount. If by chance you are thinking about opening an account with them please read these reviews first. Unless you have money for them to steal. Thank you. Very upset.

I have had my WalMart Money Card for years. Just recently have been having issues with the balance on my card changing, sometimes daily, going back weeks. Right now Walmart Money Card shows my balance being $7.54. However, in doing a line item review of my "dashboard" I say my balance should be $438.07. Huge difference. I have also been having the same issue with customer service that others have stated – multiple transfers, put on hold for long periods of time and sometimes just hung up on, promises of return calls, and even being told "your balance cannot be in the negative" (I agree but it does).

In order to use the checks you have to preauthorize it for the amount you are writing it for and they immediately debit your account for that amount, problem is when the check goes through they return as an nsf, then keep the money. I tried opening up a case to no avail. Everyone you speak to is speaking in a language that I can barely understand. I feel so helpless, can someone please help me!

Everything was fine (with minor problems) up until May 17th 2016. I had purchased gas at a Sunoco for $10.05. They held $75, then a few days later my girlfriend got gas at Wawa for $10. They held another $75. A few days later I had noticed the transactions were still pending. I called and the girl STACY (Indian) had said the transactions will be posted back to my account within a week. After a week the transactions had completely disappeared. EVEN THE MONEY! I had called back and again and again and again and hung up on and transferred and hung up on and even sent into cyberspace a few times. Finally I got STACY. She told me they have not yet gotten the money back from Sunoco or WAWA but it will be posted to my account as soon as they get it. I asked her if it was okay if I called back in 3 days to check up on that, she agreed.

3 days later still no money. I had cursed out the rep I spoke to. And even said I spoke to STACY who acknowledged the situation. The rep said no such person was there. She refused to transfer me to a manager. After much yelling and the rep giving me their fake info to report to their "supervisor" and FINALLY transferring me, the new idiot I talked to just gave me the same bullcrap. Telling me that if I have a dispute I need to take a snapshot of the online statement and send it to them so they can start their investigation. If anyone didn't know this, as they take money from you, they CHANGE THE PAST BALANCES to make it look like they are right. And I have proof of that. I thought they only owed me $150, but when I went deep into my own investigation with a snapshot I took a long time ago (because I thought my girlfriend was stealing from me) they actually owe me $1,187.47.

With the card I currently have, I have never, absolutely never, have gone into the negative. I am VERY STRICT with my money. I will never let myself go into the negative. On 10/16/15, at the end of the day, I was -$629.33 according to their records. On the Screenshot I took with my fight with my girlfriend from the same date, I had $558.14. The difference is $1,187.47. I have the screenshot saved on several devices that I own and that others own too. This is physical proof.

I'm going to confront them tomorrow and record it too. These thieves almost ended my 5 year relationship with my faithful girlfriend, and I can't imagine the pain from those with worse situations. But these ignorant people need to be stopped. If anyone wants to start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against WALMART MONEYCARD GREENDOT BANK, contact me, somehow, please. Papa johns of bensalem my boss will understand if you tell him about Walmart Moneycard. I have photographic proof and will audio record what they say as I confront them.

I have had a problem with the Walmart money card. And according to their website they have had 797 complaints just recently for the same problems... we purchase these cards and put money on cards whether at a Walmart by loading it at a register or by direct deposit and then the funds do not show up and if they do they are frozen because of a security block that Walmart money card has put on there... but in the meantime they charge monthly fees and have no way to tell you why there is a block on your cards and they will have someone call you back within two days.

On the meantime all your funds are frozen on a card that you cannot access so now... I have had my electric turned off... I can't pay my rent... and I am getting a late fee for every day it is late. I can't purchase my prescription that I need and I can't even put gas in my boyfriend's car so that he can make it to work. All my money has been frozen for a week and the only thing they can tell you on the phone is they will send my info to corporate if they can get the issue resolved and to please allow 2 business days for this to be updated sorry for the inconvenience. But yet here I am a week later and I am still unable to access my money or see my balance online or through their automated service and they say my card should be working just fine.

All my transactions are being declined and at first they told me I don't have the available funds until I mention that I have an available balance that shows on my card... that's when they tell me they see the funds there but don't know why I can't access it. I believe that they having me and 797 other complaints due to the fact that we are putting money on this card and they are stealing this money from customers and they don't seem to care if you no longer want to be their customer any longer and say that if you cancel the card they will send you a check for the remainder of the balance but allow up to ten business days for you to receive it. How can this be legal? I am so frustrated and about to lose everything.

I used my Walmart MoneyCard account to make a payment of $250. When I went to check my account the next day I could not access the information and they indicated they were having technical issues. Approximately 3 days later I was finally able to access my account and saw that the payment I had made had posted to my account twice. I contacted customer service and told them I wanted to file a dispute. They told me they could not do it at that time because they thought it was still related to technical issues. I waited another few days and called back in. They then proceeded to tell me that they do actually need to open a dispute and it will take up to 10 days.

I followed up multiple times and on the 10th day, I call into customer service again and speak to a supervisor. They now tell me that they need more time for the research. I asked them to tell me what I needed to provide to get this expedited. They said there was nothing and I could not speak to the person doing the investigation. I was then told they will have someone call me back in 1 business day. They have now had my money for 20 days. It is not my fault that they had system issues or waited 10 days in to file a dispute with the company. Most companies would credit you back the money and if it is not a valid dispute take the money back. I have never had such an issue in my life. If I owed them money you would bet they would have more urgency about getting the issue resolved.

I had the most terrible experience this month with this card. I waited for 4 hours for my direct deposit to kick in on my account. When I went to my ATM and tried to withdraw my disability benefits, it said I had exceeded the amount of pin entries so I figured maybe I saw that prompt wrong and re-entered it once more (that would make only 2 attempts). I got the same message. I was in horror! I had a trip to attend in one hour, people waiting for me patiently, to drive me to my destination and more... so I go to Walmart to try my card there, only to find out there was some strange code coming up and kicking it out their systems. The personnel were very attentive and compassionate to my issue there. Still waiting for an answer, I called the store customer service manager who made another call to the cards' customer service personnel whom hung up in her face several times!!!

I was angry now, (and so was she), and wanting to throw up, because of my nervousness. Finally called the customer service administrative supervisor who gave me the runaround and bogus excuses, and saying it was all my error! I screamed now. I am about to be seriously in debt to quite a few people plus my trip will be canceled!!! They explain after all this incompetency that now my card has a 24-hour lock on it and mind you now it's about 4 am. WOW!!! I ask then, "Who is going to reimburse me for the damages this has caused me and my missed trip to see my daughter graduate this morning from college?" This is not acceptable! I am very confused.

May 13th, 2016 at 3am in the morning is when I reported a strange purchase on my account before leaving for work. I called customer service to report that I had a purchase of $125.00 taken out of my account, which I took notice after checking my statements online. I then asked the customer rep to take it off of my statement. The customer service rep, immediately stated that there was fraudulent activity and that she had to send me out a new card. I acknowledged what she said and told her that I didn't want my card cancelled just yet, because I was expecting my direct deposit that morning and I wanted to make sure that I could get all of my money out before she cancelled my card.

She expressively and understandably told me that my card WOULD NOT GET CANCELLED, but that my funds would just be transferred to the new card once I received the new card in the mail and activated it, which she added would take a total of two weeks. Upon this agreement we ended the call. Later that morning after trying to swipe my debit card at work the cashier told me that my card was declined. I immediately called the Walmart Money Center thinking that my direct deposit didn't hit my card, and that the decline was due to insufficient funds, but they actually cancelled my debit card without my permission.

I asked the customer service rep could she reopen my account considering this wasn't my fault, and I didn't give the prior service rep permission to cancel my card. The service rep refused and said that they have to automatically cancel the card as soon as fraud is reported. I then said, you have to have other options to compensate me for this confusion. I asked could they overnight me a new debit card through the mail so that I can access my money so that I could pay my rent that was due, and feed my baby. The service rep then said they didn't provide that service with that card that I had, which is the black card with the visa logo (Green Dot). She mentioned that I would have to wait the complete (2) weeks and that the card will be sent out the same day (May 13th 2016) to get to me before or by May 27th, 2016 .

After repeatedly calling and trying to get answers as to how I could access my money I was finally able to transfer one thousand dollars to another Walmart card upon direction of one of the service reps to pay part of my rent and my child care, but after that I had no more access to my available funds until my new card came in the mail. I wasn't able to transfer my funds right away, I had to wait until the following week Wednesday May 18th, 2016 because their systems were down, and they were going through technical issues with their online services and phone services.

It is now June 1, 2016, and I still have not received my debit card in the mail. My card was supposed to be delivered on Friday May 27th, 2016 as promised. I called to follow up, they then moved the date to May 31st, 2016, stating that they didn't send my new card off until May 16th, 2016. So not only did I not receive my card on the agreed upon due date, but the reps were all giving me different answers. I have called several times, and requested to speak with a manager or someone responsible for tracking the cards sent out, but the customer reps refused to let me speak to anyone other than who I was speaking to on the phone. They said that no one could help me and that everyone is just going to continue telling me the same exact thing.

One rep told me if she transfers me to speak to a manager or card specialist that she was going to cancel my debit card that was in route, and I would have to wait another (2) weeks before receiving my available funds. The reps are VERY unprofessional, and I can barely understand them through their strong foreign accents. None of the reps could tell me their policies and procedures without putting me on hold for two or three minutes at a time. I even had a rep that pretended that she couldn't hear me after she refused to give me any answers, and then hung the phone up on me. Another rep pretended to transfer me to their manager. I ended up staying on hold for 1 whole hour, and no one ever answered the phone.

It is now almost a complete three weeks without me having access to my money. I have no money for gas, food for my baby or myself, rent, child care, or bills. I am a single mother that lives paycheck to paycheck, and I depended on this card to receive my direct deposits. I now have two paychecks that have been deposited to my account that I currently cannot access. I am completely backed up in all of my bills now, leaving me to pay double the amount that's currently due on all my bills. My phone is actually scheduled to be turned off tomorrow. Not to mention, I just received an order from my apartment complex to show up to court for late rent for the month of May after making prior payment arrangements. Now my rent for the month of June is actually due TODAY, and still NO DEBIT CARD or access to my account! SMH.

This issue is absolutely disturbing; I will be reporting Walmart and Walmart MoneyCard services to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and the media. This issue has also forced me seek counsel (lawyer). I advise anyone else that is going through this same issue with the Walmart MoneyCard to do the same if you're like me and want immediate answers!

Walmart Money Card customer service reps requested we check our account again the following day. We allowed another 24 hours to pass, checking our account. The money had not been returned to us. We call back on Thursday, May 26 2016. Walmart Money Card customer service reps gave us the same story only now. They weren't sure when the money would be available due to system errors and glitches, that 1200 people had been affected by this error, and asked for our patience. We called again in Friday, May 27, 2016. They told us it should be fixed within one business day.

We called again today and a Walmart customer service rep tried to get us to say that we were disputing a charge and we had to fervently express NO... WE ARE NOT DISPUTING ANY CHARGES. Finally, the customer service rep said one hour and your funds will be available. She assured us that the funds would be back on our card (she used the term released) today. We hung up. We waited 6 hours and still no funds. We call back; We are told that Tuesday would be the day our funds would be released back on to our card due to the holiday weekend. On May 20, 2016 my direct deposit was posted to my Wal-Mart Money Card. I went to Chase bank to withdraw 400.00; there was an additional 3.00 ATM surcharge bringing my withdrawal to 403.00. The maximum daily ATM withdrawal amount is 400.00, but I received two additional text alerts stating that I had withdrawn a total of 806.00. There was a third transaction in the amount of 403.00 that was declined. I immediately called customer service and sat on hold for almost an hour to be told that they were conducting a system update and they were aware of the multiple transactions. I was told to monitor my account to make sure that the additional 403.00 was placed back in my account.

In approximately three hours the money was returned to my account and I assumed all was well until today, one week later my account is showing 403.00 overdrawn because they are claiming that I had another 403.00 debit at Chase on the same day. I told them that it is impossible because the daily limit is only 400.00. I explained to the rep that it was their system that generated another withdrawal. On May 20th the day of the withdrawal when I pulled up my account online I could see all three transactions; today I can only see one 403.00 transaction which looks like an overdraft. I sat on the phone arguing with them to no avail. I was simply told to check my account to see if the account is corrected by May 31st; if not, I must file a dispute. I asked the rep. why should I have to dispute their mistake when clearly I could only take 400.00 out of the ATM in a 24 hour period.

I am truly frustrated and feeling scammed. Where did the other transactions go??? Why can you no longer see the actual account corrections that were made on the 20th after their system glitch. I believe that this is simply a way to attempt to defraud individuals. I will not be taken advantage of because I work too hard to just give away money when I can barely keep a roof over my head. I cannot wait to get to work on Tuesday to stop my direct deposit and most certainly I plan to file complaints with every and any agency that will listen if this is not corrected because I have bills set up on autopay. I can't believe that the government allows these companies to take advantage of low income individuals.

Went to pay my items I had shopped for and my card was also declined even though I had requested the employee to try again, that I had funds. So he calls the customer service manager to see if he's doing something wrong and at this point she also could not get it to go through.

I can't seem to get any real person on the phone just an automated system that says "please stay on the line for the next available representatives" and been over 40 mins with no one to pickup. Or it just say "we're having technical difficulties please call back later" and hangs up. She didn't act surprise when I told her as if other customers had complained also. This was just throughout an embarrassing experience. First with my energy company TXU who could not process my payment. Then with my cable company Dish. Also at the mall and several stores. It's very upsetting this whole situation. Will never ever again be using this company.

I've been without use of my Walmart card for 7 days now. I've been told that the system was upgrading & it would be 3 hours before I would have access to my money. Mind you my husband & I were on vacation (18 hrs from home). We had limited cash money on us. 3 hrs later we still didn't have access. We had to borrow money from family members to get back home. From May 21 to presently I still cannot access my money. I've called several times to hear, "I apologize. I know you have bills to pay, but our technicians are working to fix the problem." Now our rent is due! A car payment and other bills!! What am I suppose to do. It's not my bill collector's problem that I can't pay my bills!! Why wasn't I notified of this issue. NO ONE SAID ANYTHING!! Now we're in a financial bind because of this and WALMART doesn't care!! WOW!! REALLY!!

I try a different ATM AND NOTHING. I call the (800) so many times and they give me the same story... If I'm using the card with my name on it ... systems is down. If it's the fist time it happen... and now... They told me I'm getting a new card in the mail because the one I have is not working properly... with the same number... That that make any sense. So I'm getting a new card with no money. And how am I suppose to transfer my money from a card that doesn't work. And the new card will take about 3 weeks. Who is hoping to pay my late fees.

They charge their fee and take it out with no problem. So they kept my money. Can't use it. Cant buy anything. And I'm getting a second useless card. I work so hard to earn that money. They just keep, say the same thing and nothing. Nothing is done!! I'm so mad because I can do anything get my money back. No one have call me to say something. Now I have to borrow money and that put me 600 + in the HOLE!

As of 5/16/2016 my Walmart Moneycard has not been working. I can't purchase via a store or the internet and cannot even take money out thru an ATM. I tried calling customer services while I waited at a pharmacy for my medication and could not get through. I wound up in the hospital for 3 days because I couldn't purchase my meds. During the entire time I couldn't get in touch with them. When calling their service line I was told via recording there was a systems upgrade and my card would be available shortly, then they hung up on me. It took 6 days for me to even get thru to a human. When I did the 'specialist' on the phone said they had problems with a systems upgrade but that my card was working. I was told there were no transactions on my card and no declined transactions at all. In fact, I had over 23 declined transactions.

Over the course of the next week I called EVERYDAY and was always told my card was fine but it wasn't. I started to get debited for cash withdrawals that were declined. When I told them that no money was given they argued with me until I produced the ATM receipt that said RESTRICTED CARD TRANSACTION DECLINED. As of today I still cannot access my money in any way, shape or form. The Walmart rep I spoke to today said they cannot know when this will be fixed. I asked what would happen on June 3rd when my social security would be deposited and I was told the money would go in the card but I won't be able to access it until they fix this problem. Then the rep told me that they were as upset as I was because they COULDN'T TAKE THEIR LUNCH BREAK due to all the irate customers calling in. Can you fathom that?

It's bad enough that they hardly speak a word of english and now I have to listen to the complaint about a missed lunch break when I can't access my money? I then asked what they would do when I'm evicted because I can't pay my rent or who would pay the hospital bills I incurred. And I was told by the rep that I just had to wait it out because there's nothing they can do! I also told one of the reps that I was a systems programmer for 25 years and I never heard of an upgrade as disastrous as this. And they told me that it's happened before as though that would make me feel better.

As of the writing of this review I still had no access to my money via any route, store, internet or ATM. And Walmart still didn't know when it would be fixed! This is by far the worst service I ever received from any company in the financial sector and the worst employed customer reps. They are not understandable, barely speak English, are rude, and don't solve any problems. Worst experience of my life with a card of any kind! Have had to call the local news to see if they could help. Will keep you posted.

I purchased gas at a Walmart gas station with a Walmart money card on 5-21. The charge for the gas went through. I went to check my balance on 5-23 and noticed a $100 pending charge. I called the customer service number. I was told it was a preauthorization for the gas purchase. When I told the rep that the charge for gas had already cleared, she told me it would be 10 days before the $100 goes back into my account. Now they are claiming this a problem because of updates to their system. Who spends 5 days or more updating and causing problems for consumers?

Per the Walmart money card legal info: "We will release any remaining amount when the transaction finally settles." My transaction was settled on 5-21. I have spoken to customer service at least 5 times. I have sent 5 messages on the website. I sent a message on Walmart's website. No one has reached out to me. I have gone to the Walmart where I purchased the gas. No satisfaction. I have always respected Walmart. Not so much now. I know most of it is not their fault. But, is their name on the card and gas station. They should try to correct this.

Updated on 05/28/2016: They finally took the $100 preauthorization off my card. But I got curious about what else they had messed up. I went over my online statement and found a $52.02 discrepancy. I called the help line to speak to a "specialist." She kept going back further than I had. After I got off the phone, with no satisfaction, I got curious again. I went back on my statement to where she was starting. I found another phantom deduction. So instead of $52 they owe me $114. So I guess I could say customer service actually helped me for once. Still very unhappy. It is going to take weeks to figure and of course that is their goal. Delay, delay, delay until you lose interest. I will not.

I have been using the Walmart money card for about two months now because my direct deposit comes Wednesday rather than Friday. On May 18 I got a deposit. Luckily I only use the account for the deposit only so I always immediately deposit the funds into my Wells Fargo account. Some pay periods I would leave it there but since they sent back my car payment as insufficient funds when there was more than enough money to cover the payment I decided to just keep taking my money off.

After I made the deposit at Wells Fargo there was $157 left on the card. I used it for a little gas and food and the next morning the balance was $0.00. They told me they were doing system upgrades and it would be fixed by May 21. It is May 26 and I still cannot access the funds that are left on the card and even have a negative balance. I contacted my job to have my direct deposit information changed and will contact HR again tomorrow to be sure they do not load my pay onto this card every again.

Although it may be a 1 time occurrence it is not a chance I'm willing to take with an entire paycheck being lost in space. Up until now I had had no trouble with the card and getting paid 2 days sooner was definitely a perk but after this I must say my goodbyes to the Walmart money card. I am afraid of being out of town and suddenly not having any money or something. I have two little toddlers so things like this are unacceptable.

I wish there was a zero star rating I could check because these people don't deserve a star or another dime of mine or a dime from anyone I know. I used Wal-Mart MoneyCard in the past but let it go due to the horrible service & them shutting my card off 2 times, stating the reason as "suspicious activity" around a major holiday leaving me with no money & almost homeless the last time they pulled this stunt. They seem to always do this type of dirt around major holidays and as soon as the direct deposit hits from your employer. Then, they can never give you information on the "suspicious activity" they're speaking of. They just shut your card down when they get ready and do as they please.

The first time they shut my card off was around Memorial Day, they admitted their mistake and Fed-Ex'd me another card. The next time was around Mother's Day and they made me wait for nearly 10 days before I could access my own hard-earned money. That was it for me but now, my husband is also having the exact same issue with his Wal-Mart MoneyCard and all they can say, at this third world call center that Wal-Mart uses, is "We have sent out a card free of charge and it will arrive in 7-10 business days" but we have bills to pay & here we are coming up on a major holiday and the runaround from them is worse than ever.

After we waited on hold for more than 45 mins., a rep using the stage name Warren can only read from a script and continue to say, "There's nothing we can do, you have to wait for the card to arrive in the mail." Regular mail I might add. I'm so sick of Wal-Mart and all of their bad service, I not only let my card go with them, but I stopped shopping at their stores and cancelled my Sam's membership as well because their service in all areas is just plain BAD & I refuse to give another dime of my money to any of their establishments. I also stopped recommending their card to anyone I know because I would never wish the experience I've had and now my husband is having on anyone... Except the "powers that be" at Wal-Mart and the mask they hide behind called Green Dot.

Since my balance is now NEGATIVE when I know I have money that should be in there my car payment is stuck somewhere in limbo between my account and the finance company.

Back in January I had two surgeries and fell behind on my car payment. In order to keep my car I had SPECIFIC payment arrangements set up and paying the payment that Friday would of got the payment there days before due. Yesterday my car was Repo'd at work. I've called many times and have gotten the same response from everyone at the Walmart Money Card customer service: "We understand your frustration, no there is no resolution date, there is nothing we can do". On May 18th I made a purchase for $23 something and all seemed good with a remaining balance of $199.25 which is more than enough to get me to my next pay day and maybe have some left (I'm not a big spender outside of gas, food and maybe some beer). Well I go to the store the next morning and my card was declined (WTF). I go home and check online and the left side does show that I indeed had $199.25 but in the upper right corner it says -.75. I call Customer service and they said "Yes we can see that." It is due to issues that they are having with their updates to their system and to please be patient. "We have no set time to when the updates will be finished. Just please be patient and continue to monitor your account online. We are working as quickly as possible to get this resolve."

I figure okay, every system has a glitch every now and then. I just wait a few hours or so and it should be resolve. I was never so wrong. It's only gotten worse since then. I called the next day and was told the same thing. "Yes we the problem and are working quickly to resolve it. Please be patient and continue to monitor your account online." Well it now been 7 days and I get the same thing every time I call. Except yesterday when a customer service rep. tried to tell me that yes my balance is really -3.75 (yeah it went up all on its own from -.75). I check again this morning and it now telling me I'm -$59.36. And on top of that they have completely removed my transaction history.

So now if I want to dispute it I have to rely on what they're telling me? Luckily I had the foresight to print my transaction history the very first night and twice after that as the transaction history has changed multiple time with different dates and transaction amounts etc. etc. It looks to me like they are moving transaction dates and amounts around to get the results they want. Someone there is seriously trying to manipulate the numbers and dates to make this go away without returning their customers' missing money.

It is now 10 days with no access to my entire paycheck. I was promised my account would have my money on Tuesday this week and it was another lie. What kind of company do they have doing their update? I know Walmart can afford to fix our accounts and work out the rest later. Instead they are causing people to miss bills like rent, electric, gas for work, food, daycare. People have probably lost their apartment or job by now. If I missed 10 days of work I would be fired. Luckily I just ran out of my emergency money yesterday. Day one not being able to go to work. Please pray they fix this fast and reimburse the late fees for the bills I couldn't pay. All I can say is SHOP LOCAL and SMALL BUSINESSES. They care about their customers.

They resolved it for me at their inside banking office

    Original Review: May 25, 2016

On 5/18/16 I purchased two $50 Walmart Visa debit cards for two graduates. They wisely refused the cards so I took them back to Walmart at 174 cypress point pkwy, Palm coast, fl 32164. They refused refund and told me to call 866-633-9096. The lady told me she could not refund the money unless I had the credit card numbers so I told her I would call her back. I opened both card packages and got the credit card numbers ready and called back. She then referred me to a recorded message which said they do not refund for the cards. I called the Walmart store and asked for a manager and she said the sales clerk should have told me there was no refund on these cards. I considered registering the cards and just spending the money but the cards are like quick sand; once in you can't get out. Walmart has always had a policy of refunds but this time I have been conned out of $102.00 dollars.

My balance shows that the money that was held was not available to me, but held and they reduced my balance. One of the holds was released today but my balance doesn't reflect the release of the funds. This is not the first time this has happened. When it happened before the merchant said they never held the money. I called customer support. They said the merchant did hold the money, but it's not normal for my cell phone company to hold funds, they simply take your payment and that's it.

After complaining during multiple phone calls that the merchant is not holding the money and asking for it to be released the transaction "hold" was released as if it never happened and the balance didn't reflect the hold amount. I called back and customer support tells me that the money was never held and that they didn't see it in my transaction history as ever being held. I didn't screenshot my account when it showed the hold so I couldn't send in proof and they got away with it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I've used this card for the past 9 years but it's happened again with the recent 2 transactions - hold amounts totaling $133.54. They gave me the same lame excuse so as of today I've cancelled the card. I am reporting it to the BBB and if need be the attorney general because this is so unacceptable. I have two problems, and I can't even talk to anyone about them. First, I call the 877 number to get my account balance, I get "Your account is active and your card is ready for use." To add further insult, I'm told to dial the 877 number that I just called in order to get my account balance. The card has been active for over a year, so why the system thinks I need to know that I can use the card is beyond me. What I need is an account balance, or to be able to talk to a live person so that I can get an account balance while I'm away from my computer. I tried many different strategies to get some help - with some card companies if you mess up the entry too many times you're automatically referred to a live person - but no luck.

Once I got to a computer (unlike the other reviewers) I have an unanticipated credit on my account. I have no clue why Circle-K would be refunding me $96.00. My account shows that I have only spent $35.00 with them in the last six months. I would like to contact Wal-Mart Money Card and clear this up, but all I can get is the same message - my account is active and the card is ready for use. I've gone to the Wal-Mart store hoping that they could put me in touch with the right people, but they can't. They have the same contact information that has me running in circles. This is the cheapest pre-paid card service that I can find, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Wal-Mart prepaid Green Dot card has been pulling funds from my deposits showing that I am -$1,200.00. For example, on 4/11/2016, I made a transaction purchase for $42.35 and my posted balance was -$1,190.39 then, added $300.00 to account on 4/12/2016, my balance was -$890.36. Then on 4/14/2016, went to Kroger's, made a purchase transaction $26.05, my balance says I was -$916.44. My check deposit on 4/15/2016 froM $1488.26 had me in a negative -$2503.36. Used my card May 15/16 with no problem. Next morning decided to get gas and card was declined. Called customer service but was unable to speak to a actual person and continued getting that stupid "system upgrading" bull crap, plus system kept saying card number was inaccurate. Tried checking balance through text by phone feature but the amount continued to change from one amount to another. So this goes on for 4 days. Mind you I am a single mother of four with a NEWBORN BABY! Yes. Unable to purchase diapers, food, clothing, formula, gas, prescription medications and anything else my family needed. After calling the credit card line and my local Walmart store I was finally given a number that allowed me to speak to someone. I called the Walmart consumer complaints line.

CS Rep. informed me that my card had been cancelled and a new one had been mailed due to an unauthorized transaction claim with Microsoft that I had made days ago. I told the rep from the Dept that I DID NOT want to cancel my card because I wanted to speak with Microsoft about the purchases and that IF I had any problems with Microsoft I would call back because I was sure MS would solve the problem plus I refused to wait 2 weeks for another card when I had 4 children plus daily expenses. She told me that routing and account numbers would be the same so I could just get another prepaid card and transfer funds. I still refused. She did anyway without my knowledge or permission!

Tried to go online to pull up account info but couldn't because website says username is incorrect but it wasn't. I tried using the I forgot my username option but that was a dead end since my current card was cancelled and the card number is required to change username, which I have. If anyone because current card is no good and I can't retrieve the numbers from my new card since I HAVEN'T RECEIVED IT! IDIOTS. So now I am unable to pay my rent, insurance, utility, etc. I told the Consumer complaints rep that I would be evicted if I can't make my rent and with 4 children, and of course, you guessed it; she couldn't help me with that either. I'm so furious I don't know what to do. How can I not access my own money and for this amount of time? If anyone is filing a class action lawsuit COUNT ME IN.

They are definitely 100% lying. We have OVER 600 people in our group currently so the "less than 100 people" is total BS. Problems because of this issue: Children not getting medication, people facing eviction because they can't pay their rent, people facing losing their jobs because they can't get money for gas, people having utilities shut off because the bill payment declines, people going without food trying to find local food banks, and the list goes on and on. This is so unacceptable.

The company needs to tell the TRUTH about what is going on. Two have even mentioned that now their social security numbers have been changed on their cards! This is more than a "system upgrade" gone wrong... Our personal information is now compromised totally. I will NEVER recommend or use this card company again. Green Dot's stock has already dropped by 1% and it's only going to get worse as people step forward with their stories. Currently there are attorney's helping us to get class action lawsuits against Green Dot and possibly Wal-mart.

The fact that people have been unable to access their money since as early as Sunday night ADDED to the fact that balance information is wrong, transactions are being up to triple charged, dates are being changed on transactions, and personal information is compromised is MORE than enough information to push these people out of business!

So, I have had Wal-Mart Money Card for over a year now due to my stupidity with regular banks over the past 5 years. Today May 20th, 2016 was the first time I have EVER had a problem with this card. This morning I paid my cell phone bill $150 and withdrew $100. When I went to pay my credit card for the amount of $360 I was told by Capital One my card was declined. I said, "Oh wait a second, there is no way. I literally just got paid today." I have well over X amount of money. Easily enough to pay a 360 dollar credit card bill.

I login to my Wal-Mart Money Card account and all of a sudden I am missing over 600 dollars. I look at the transactions, I was debited 3 times for my cell phone payment along with my withdraw of 100 dollars from the ATM. I called the customer service. Wasn't on hold for that long. 15 minutes. I was told by the person on the other end we are having our technical team look into the matter. No problem. I don't know about you but why would someone pay their cell phone bill 3 times or take out money from the ATM 3 times in a row. It should be quite obvious that this is an error on their end. I PRAY they weren't hacked! My only hope.

Going to wait until Tuesday, May 25th before I contact the local news or a lawyer. It seems like reading through all the reviews a lot of people are having issues with this card right now. When trying to log back on again 30 minutes after getting off the phone.. All my transactions history was "currently unavailable". This might be their technical team fixing this issue. I HOPE.

I have cash and no bills due at all this week so I am fine with them on the process of doing what they have to do. Thank goodness this wasn't next weekend which is Memorial Day weekend. Planning on possibly spending quite a bit of money on a weekend trip to amusement parks, crabs, all that good stuff. So right now I can not bash this card because things do happen. NOTHING IS PERFECT in this world. So, right now they get a 3 out of 5 due to this issue but will bump up to a 5 if/when the problem is resolved.

He kept repeating, "I don't have your card balance. We are in the middle of a system update or we're doing system maintenance." I've never heard of a system update or maintenance taking three days to complete.

When I asked if their system got hacked he told me all they (his supervisor) are telling me is "we are doing system update." I don't know what they did but money is missing that I didn't spend. Still haven't gotten that resolved. Not sure of the exact amount but I do know it's north of seventy dollars. After an unsatisfactory customer service experience and finding money missing from my card, I went to Walmart money center to withdraw remaining balance from my card. Thankfully the clerk was able to tell me my balance so I could get the remaining cash off my card. Green Dot you need to admit what really happened and make it right to your customers.

Now, let me state, I know that some of these random cards use holds. However, up until this point I have been reimbursed immediately after the actual transaction posts (approx. 24 hours). I called to find out if this needed a dispute b/c it didn't specify fuel until I called to complain. Now it all begins... CS Rep #1 - Told me that I definitely needed to speak to a specialist to dispute so she put me on hold 40 MINUTES LATER... CS Rep #2 - Told me that it was a fuel hold and I wouldn't get it back for another week!!! At this point I am completely infuriated and ask to speak to a Supervisor. She argued with me for about 10-15 minutes about how it wouldn't matter, no one would fix it.

Supervisor (or so I was told) - Same scenario as CS #2 EXCEPT he told me that he would need to file a dispute if this was an unauthorized transaction (Too many people with different stories). So, unconcerned that they have left me with no money in my account, I was still getting a BS runaround from this guy who swears he is the ONLY person that I can talk to and refuses to transfer my call. So, I hang up and send a lovely email requesting assistance (mainly because I've done CS and the BS is nothing new) and I will be contacting Corporate (assuming that is an actual thing) and continuing the saga of more disappointment from Wal-Mart as well as its untrustworthy products. Needless to say that I thought this would be a hassle-free alternative to banking (since I cannot stand banking) but I was wrong. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!

Being my pay goes on this card I called to see if my monies could be transferred to another card but was told they couldn't because my card was basic. I called the corporate office only to get the runaround. This started in April, now it's May and I have had countless reps tell me different things. Some will do the transfers others won't. I have cancelled my card with them. It was by far the worst experience I have ever had with an institution handling your monies. Walmart need to stick to the in store merchandise. Not because I don't have the money but because WAL-MART WON'T LET ME ACCESS MY OWN MONEY TO PAY MY BILLS. To boot, they will not tell us what the heck is going on. And all you get when you call is an automated message. As soon as we have access to our funds we are pulling out and going elsewhere. This is unbelievable. After I refreshed my internet page I tried to finish the activation process but couldn't because it said that my card was already activated. Confused but thinking it somehow went through I tried to make a purchase online but couldn't. I then tried activating via the number provided with the card and that proved to be worse than online. I have a small pension direct deposited to my card. Each month I am charged the monthly fee, even though all of the documentation states that the monthly fee will be waived if I "reload $500 OR a direct deposit of a government or payroll check". Calls to customer service have been very difficult, to say the least. Apparently none of the CSRs know the difference between the words AND/OR, yet continue to tell me I'm wrong, or that what I was reading from their website/documentation/app was not correct. Some of the reps have even gone so far as to lie to me. It got so bad that a few months ago I told them I would call back every month until they either stopped charging me the fee or change the verbiage. I've intentionally sat on hold for over two hours until I either spoke with a supervisor or was guaranteed a call back (the CSR eventually hung up. I called right back).

I'm retired, and can afford an hour or so once a month to get resolution. It's been five months now. I wonder how many other people they are ripping off. Emailing customer support has not been much better. I always contact them through the same thread. My last email to them included a screen shot from their app. The response? "Call customer service." I don't know if it's possible to do it through this website, but if anyone is planning a class action suit, contact me.

On 4/27/2016 I checked my bank account that morning and all was fine. I then went to Hobby Lobby and forgot the amount, so that evening I logged to see what amount was that I had spent at Hobby Lobby... and there were charges from GRUBHUB, Starbucks Card, and Celebrity Inn at which these were not my authorized charges so I called the number on that card. Was told that they had already blocked my card without my knowledge, that I would have to wait for 2 to 3 weeks for a new card. I told the representative this was unacceptable and that it needed to be overnighted to me because my payroll is direct deposited and that that is all the money I have. The representative was rude and told me that, "Well, I can send express but it will cost you 15.00" so I agreed. He said I would get new card in 5 days.

Well on the 4th I still had not received and my payroll was deposited so I have been without money since the 27th so I call and was told once again that no way could a card be overnighted so I told that Philippine person who you can't understand that that was not acceptable and that I needed it overnight. I have bills due and I get charged late fees when not paid on time. These are the most uncaring people I have ever seen or talked to. First of all it takes forever to get to finally talk to someone and when you do it is in the Philippines. Come on. I purchased this card in Missouri in America and I have to talk overseas when I have problem with it... so anyway when I checked to mail last night when I got home from work there was the card... so I called and activated it but this morning I went in and purchased gas and guess WHAT? Card DECLINED.

Luckily the clerk at the station knows me and she paid for my gas so I wouldn't get in trouble with the LAW. So I tried for 40 minutes to get to talk to someone on the phone. Every time I called it asked for my card number. When I would put the new number in it said not a valid number. When I put my old number in it said account was blocked. NOWHERE IN THE RECORDING DOES IT GIVE YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE AND DON'T EVEN remember how I finally did get someone. Finally after 7 calls I figured out how to talk to someone. The card that I received last night was are you ready for this, FROZEN because they have sent out a new one and I will just have to wait for that card. First of all, what kinds of bank does not send out cards overnight when it is their fault? Because they sent a new one they have FROZEN the new one I got last night... and they cannot reactivate.

THIS IS BULL CRAP. I will be contacting the Attorney General, the Better Business Bureau and filing a CLASS ACTION. I was told this morning that there was nothing I could do when I asked to be transferred to someone in the UNITED STATES because there is FEDERAL LAW that if a foreign company does business in the UNITED STATES that they have to transfer you to someone in the United States when you asked them to. Instead I was told that there was no one in the United States. Really? Because Green Dot bank is in the United States. I was also told by the lady at least 15 times to call the number on the back of my card. Duh. That is what I called and got her.

She finally after at least 25 minutes transferred to someone else. His name was Ray, at least I could understand him and he explained that I could have my money transferred to another Walmart Card Account... so I was instructed to go and get another Walmart Money Card and then go online and have my money transferred to that account. I cannot tell you how upset I am that I have to purchased another Walmart Money Card at my expense and hopefully have my money transferred. I DO NOT FEEL THIS IS ACCEPTABLE.

So far during the numerous calls I have made to the customer service number on the back of the card these are JUST some of the responses I have gotten: "Well, can't you borrow money from someone?" "Do you have another Walmart Money Card?" "We do not have anyone in the United States." "There is no Supervisor available." THEY ARE MANY, MANY MORE BUT TOO NUMEROUS TO MENTION. GREEN DOT BANK, why are you allowing such poor customer service and why do you have people in the Philippines handling phone calls for us in the USA when we purchased our cards in the USA? This is totally unacceptable. No wonder America is in the shape it is in.

I AM ASKING THAT YOU PLEASE GET THIS MATTER HANDLED IMMEDIATELY AND MAKE MY ACCESSIBLE TO ME. I have had a Walmart money card for 5 years now and this is how you treat your customers? I am reporting this like I said before to the Attorney General, FDIC, Better Business Bureau and filing a class action claim. First of all let me say I have used this card for yrs. with little or no incident. If a problem arose it taken care of right away with total professionalism. In April of this yr all that went down the drain. To start with, my statement showed a negative balance and they deducted the negative balance from my direct deposit. There is no negative balance on a Walmart MoneyCard. If the funds aren't there, the transaction doesn't get approved. One phone call took care of that. I stayed on the phone with the supervisor until he found the mistake. Mind you by this time I was no longer showing a negative balance at the time of the deposit, yet $140 and change was subtracted from my deposit. That was fixed and I was told it would take two days to reflect the bal. on my statement. I waited 2 days and went to check my bal. and found another error. Two separate payments were showing as purchase and pending again in the amount of $140 something and change.

I called again. After going around and around getting passed from this person to that person someone finally understood what I was saying... I had double deductions on 2 transactions. He erased the pending charges as they were also showing as purchase. I hung up and immediately called in my phone bill. It went through this time. The very next day I tried to use my card and it was declined again. So I pull up my statement again. The balance is right, my attempted purchase did not exceed the balance. Once again I'm on the phone with customer service. GET THIS... my acct. had been frozen because I had a credit of $176 something PENDING. How does a pending credit affect my available balance? I tried to explain to them I didn't have a credit due, they had already credited my acct for that amount. This time I had to wait 2 wks before they unfroze my card.

This month again my statement shows a pending and a purchase on the same transaction. I went round and round with them. The best I got was I would have to wait 2 wks for the issue to be taken care of. They tried to tell me the company had double billed me and I would have to wait 'til the next statement for my acct to be credited. I tried to find a # for the Green Dot bank, Walmart MoneyCard, the only # listed is the customer service in the Philippines. The corporate office has a PO address where you write to them in Pasadena. Why is customer service in the Philippines? Feeling thoroughly frustrated I call the co. that supposedly double billed me. Of course they didn't double bill me, I knew that. So they took all the info for their supervisor and he took care of it. Evidently, you know they weren't happy at being accused of doing something they didn't do.

So a bit later I call customer service again. I informed them that I called the company they had billed me 1 time. Lo and behold they erased the pending transaction and the balance will reflect tomorrow. These people are doing something really illegal and using our money to do it. I have made copies of their "accounting errors" and sending copies to corporate office and any other organization that will investigate them. I'm hesitant to close the acct simply because I've used this card for so long. This 2 months is way out of the ordinary for my experience with them. I'll wait one more month and if I have trouble again I'll have to undo my direct deposit and cancel the act.

YES - 17-25 days. While Walmart earns interest on MY money which I can't use or get to. My local Walmart was useless and didn't care - even the top store manager Jonathon. Filing suit next week for much more. Others have sued and won against Walmart, too. READ THE REVIEWS HERE - don't make the same mistake we all made.

I have been using my Wal-Mart moneycard for two years to pay bills online/make online purchases. Back in the second week of March I uploaded 300+ dollars to pay my internet and car insurance. I thought everything was fine until I got an email explaining my payments were declined. I logged into my account and saw there was a hold for suspicious activity.

When I called the customer service they explained to me that this random hold is because I wasn't using the replacement card they sent me. I never requested one. I asked when they sent it and they told me the summer of 2014! I explained that was years ago and I don't recall ever receiving another card. She told me that in order to access my funds she would send me a new card and I would have to wait 10 business days (2 weeks) for it to come in the mail. I was frustrated but I accepted. I logged into my account afterward and saw that the status of my card changed from a regular card block to "card reported stolen" and that I needed a new account number and was not allowed to access my funds. I called and asked why since I never said it was stolen and they said "it would not affect anything" and that everything was fine.

I waited the two full weeks. Multiple employees told me the latest I would receive the card was April 5th. I called on the 6th and spoke with a rep who in fact told me she saw a mistake on their end and it may have caused them to not even send the card out. She told me to expect a call from a supervisor within the next two businesses days. I waited and never received a call. I called back on the 3rd business day and talked to a rep who not only continuously looked for reasons to try to hang up on me but explained that there was no notes on my account about what I called in for multiple times and nothing stating a supervisor was supposed to call me. He swore up and down they sent me that debit card and eventually transferred me to the automated system when he got sick of me asking questions.

I called probably 6 times that day with no help. I eventually got told that they have nothing they can do but send me another card. It's now been exactly 10 business days from the second card being sent and I still haven't received it. I called their customer service today and she just kept telling me she would research it (yeah right) and to wait until end of business day today and if I don't receive it to call back. I asked her what they would do any differently tomorrow than today and she could not even give me a straight answer. I asked if there was a way of transferring my balance to another card, showing proof of ID or closing out my account and getting my balance sent to me in check form and got a "No sorry. You will just have to wait for the card." as a response to everything.

They've also explained to me they have no tracking on these cards they're "sending". I have never been so frustrated in my life and would never recommend this product to anyone. By other reviews it looks to me as they are trying to keep everyone's funds to create loans for themselves because they're sinking. They are stealing from us and I am so close to filing a lawsuit.

On April 21st my Green Dot banking card, thru Walmart was frozen due to a creditor levy. The levy amount is $162, total balance in my Account is $601. As of today, 4/26, my entire account is still frozen. I have requested that a Corporate Supervisor call me back and was told that would be within two business days, that still has not happened. I have been in contact with the creditor and it's ironic that they have been going up and beyond to try and help me get this resolved, while the bank, that I have used for direct deposit for almost two years now, could care less about me. When you call customer service all you get is employees that speak broken English, do not understand banking laws, and all they keep saying is "I'm sorry!!!"

They keep telling me that they need a letter of Indemnity from the creditor to unfreeze my account, however, no one with Green Dot has contacted the creditor to tell them that. And the Creditor has said they do not and will not send that type of letter. And when I tell Green Dot that, they just keep telling me that I have to get them to do it. So you're telling someone, whose bank acct is being levied that he has to call the creditor? Green Dot received a court order to levy my account in only the amount shown and pay the creditor, but they refuse to do so. My creditor has tried to call Green Dot, but no one will talk to her because she does not have a customer account. And when I ask for a different phone number for the creditor to call, Green Dot refuses to give me one.

If you are considering Green Dot, be very cautious. If you run into any sort of issues, no one that works shows any desire to help or resolve your issue. It is the worst Customer Service for a banking institute that I have ever seen. And also, I was told by their rep, that they do not have to follow normal banking rules. Can someone please help!!!

On Friday I got a text message from AT&T saying that they hadn't received my payment and would be shutting my service off. I immediately called the card and looked up the transactions online and it said AT&T had the money but they didn't. I called AT&T and the rep told me that the payment was voided. I then called the card and spoke with a rep from there and they told me that the payment is pending. I said "where is my money?" I'm livid. They told me it won't be back on my card till the 28th. Such crap. "It better be back on there", that's all I have to say. I even called AT&T while I was on the phone with the Walmart money card. You ask for a supervisor and you get nowhere. The rep is in the Philippines. They don't care if you get your money or not. I will NEVER use this card to pay bills again.

I recently deposited $177 and had a refund of $49 to my Walmart Money Card. I checked my balance on to see that both transactions had been credited to my account. When I went to use my card it said "Declined". After re-checking my balance online, my available balance show the deposits are available. I called customer service at 877-937-4098 and was told that they had blocked my account due the fact that 5 pin numbers had been attempted on my card. I said "well I know my PIN# so can you please release my funds?" They asked for my date of birth and I told them. They said that was not the correct date, and they will keep the block on the card indefinitely. I offered to send a copy of my birth certificate and social security # to prove I am the cardholder. They said it did not matter.

I said, "Then terminate the card and mail my balance to me," and they said no. I said, "Well, you can't just keep my money." They said, "We can and we are," and told me that no matter how many times I call, they will not refund my money nor release the block. They also will not give me any information further. I am astounded that after just making a deposit to pay my bills online, Walmart has stolen my deposits and I have no recourse. I now will have to hire a law firm to help me sue Walmart to resolve this matter.

I was told the beginning of January is when it was overdrafted which is a lie because the beginning of February is when I got my income tax and put it on that card. After the money was spent I didn't use it for 2 months, I checked my card yesterday and it was negative 299.14 and it said on March fourth is when the money taken off. I called Walmart customer service and have been jerked around. I'm not paying for something that they had to of done! Only Walmart can control those cards. I called and was lied to saying a dispute would be filed and I would be refunded by the 13th. None of which took place. I called again to find out my dispute status to find nothing had been done nor my account refunded and was told I have to wait 10 more days before I would even find out if my funds would be put back.

The transactions took place in Philadelphia and I live in Wyoming so it's a given I can't be at 2 arm's at once and all I get is "I'm sorry" and "you have to wait". Don't EVER use this bank nor trust them. I am taking legal action against them because this has happened a few times and every time it's the same. I had a Walmart MoneyCard and mistakenly thought it was safe from fraud or misuse. When I filed a dispute over an unauthorized debit, Green Dot Bank froze my account and denied me access to my own money for 2 weeks. I had to wait for a new card. When I got the new card, I took out ALL remaining funds and closed that account also. When my dispute with the vendor who charged my card was resolved by me directly with the vendor, a credit was issued to the original WMC account. I called GDB DBA WMC to get the money from my credit. I've been fighting with GDB for over 3 weeks now, still don't have my money. Was told today that the USPS takes 2 weeks to deliver checks even when letters are delivered in 2 days. It took almost a week and threat of litigation for Green Dot Bank to acknowledge and admit that they had the credit issued to me from the vendor.

I am in the process of filing a complaint with the State of California Dept. of Justice. (as recommended by the Dept. of Consumer Affairs) It became obvious to me that GDB takes advantage of any opportunity to lock up WMC customers' money by freezing the account and accepting credit to closed accounts then holding the funds and taking over a month to get the money back to the customer. I WOULD NOT EVER RECOMMEND the WAL-MART MONEY CARD to ANYONE!

Remember... until I threatened litigation: Green Dot Bank DENIED a CREDIT had been ISSUED! This indicated to me that GDB had NO INTENTION of RETURNING MY MONEY. What is your opinion?

The problems are as follows: With a $1000 minimum monthly deposit, there is not supposed to be any fee to use the card. This is in the terms and conditions. They are charging that $3 fee per month anyway. Which means at this point, I have given Walmart no less than $100 in fees over the past 3 years. Every time I call and complain, I am given a runaround and no resolution.

They are not supposed to charge you $3 to cash your paycheck and then $3 to load the card. They are supposed to charge you NOTHING to put your check on their card. So that's another $6 a month. They are being awful sneaky in first cashing the check and second depositing it, putting an extra $6 per transaction (times millions of users) into the pockets of the Waltons. I can pull up my online statement, print it out, and prove that I am being charged incorrectly, yet they will not do anything to reverse the fees.

$9 a month in fees for the past 4 years. I held up my end of the card agreement, why don't they have to? Has this happened to anyone else? I would be DELIGHTED to participate in a lawsuit pertaining to this. ALL of us can pull up our accounts and I'm sure many of us can PROVE that we are being charged incorrectly. Doesn't the Walton family have enough money without literally stealing $9 a month from millions of people who don't use traditional banking services?

This time they had caught the mistake and did not pay out the bogus charge on my card which was great, but when they sent me my new card which takes 3 weeks to receive this card, they send it to the wrong address. Now I can either wait 3 more weeks for me to be able to use my account or pay $16 in fees so they can send it to me within 8 to 10 days. My account and money has been locked up for about 40 days by the time my card actually gets to me. The people that talk to you on the telephone have such a hard accent it is very hard to understand what they are saying. They are blaming me for the address change which I have not ever moved 4 years before I had a card with these people.

Beware if you do business with these people and your card is ever compromised or lose it. It will take you about a month or so to get a new one and if they screw up, it'll be another month before you can get access to your account. As soon as I get my new card I am done with these people. Too much of a headache to deal with. If they had paid for the Express shipping of my new card I couldn't let their mistake go. But as upset as I was, they could give a ** less. I opened a bank account that I enjoyed some security perks. So, I didn't use my card for over a year. Mmmm, well I got the bright idea to pay my son's phone bill with it cause I had cash and don't feel like stopping at the bank on my way home. So for convenience I loaded it with the opposite amount. Well when I paid the bill it kept saying "insufficient funds". What in the world is going on I know there's money on it? Called and checked, there was six dollars missing, just enough to cause insufficient funds. After I called the customer service line I found out they incur a negative balance for fees. OK. I guess I can see fees bit after a year? They should have just canceled the card. Why keep a card with them when you have to pay a fee to load it and a fee to keep it.

I'd rather just buy a new card every time I need to use it. And not being able to inform me at the register on a negative balance seems dishonest. Because I asked if it had any on it at the register, I thought I might have left a few dollars on it. Now I'm stuck at the house in the middle of night can't run up there to put six dollars plus another three for the loading charge to make the payment complete. So crappy. I will advocate to anyone if they have to use one just use like it's disposable and buy one each time. No need to be fair to a company that isn't fair to its clients. Also when I called to complain instead of putting the six dollars back on the card as a courtesy to a long standing customer to keep them, they just told me over and over "I'm sorry ma'am that's our fees." Wow lost a good customer of many years for six bucks. Good job Walmart. Y'all may be big but all big strong kingdoms fall hard without the loyalty of their patrons.
