We purchased airline tickets and the airline had to refund our money. The travel agency and United Airlines refunded to Walmart Moneycard (GREENDOT) but they will not release the block on the card. I have sent multiple emails from the travel agency to Walmart Moneycard (GREENDOT), even the refund amount forwarded from the travel agency and a screenshot, because they said they could not read it. Still they refuse to release our money. OH and the money we had put on there aside from the refund. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THEY HAVE ASKED. They have been holding the money since January 4th 2017.

I'm very upset that I didn't lose my card or had it stolen, but there was a unauthorized charge on my card that was made at Walmart in a different state. So I called customer service and they advise me they had to cancel my card and to send me a new one and it will take 7 business day. I told them I needed my money now and they told me they can rush it for an extra 15 dollars. I was not going to pay when it's not my fault. I told them I'll wait. It has been 8 days and I didn't get my card. I called them on the 7 day demanding where is my card. I just got paid and I have bills to pay. They told they're sorry and that they would send another one and that it will take another 7 days. I told them no. I want to speak to a supervisor. I talked to one and they said that there was no way to get my money until I get another card. I told them this is ridiculous and I need my money.
At this point I'm pissed off. They offer the day express for 15. I told them "no. I'm not going to pay it. This is your fault that I'm dealing with this. I need my card." I don't recommend anyone to get this card. You are screwed on getting your money without the stupid card. I'm still waiting and I will be late paying my bills because of them.

This morning, I barely made it to Sam’s Club gas station at 6:45am in the 8-degree weather trying to get gas. I tried using my Walmart Moneycard but it wouldn't go through. I believe it had something to do with the pump. When I pushed the type of gas I wanted, it said “Thanks for your service!” What the hell? I didn't get the gas!! So Walmart Moneycard took $35.28 (which was all I had) out of my account as if the transaction went through! How could I have put that exact amount in my car when my car engine can't even take that much! I called Walmart to see if the hold could be released and I was told yes, maybe in 12 days! I needed to get to work RIGHT THEN! So I wanted to speak to a supervisor, and was told one would call me back.
3 hours later, I call back and was told again that it was considered as a TRANSACTION so a reversal could not be done per their system! I am about to lose my job because I can't get to work now and that little $35 was/is all I had for the next 2 weeks! I can't even get my medicine!! This is not fair. Because their system says a reversal cannot be done, though no fault of my own, I, the consumer, has to suffer!! I work in Consumer Affairs so now I need to take this further. I do not intend on losing my job because of them!!!

I had a black Walmart Moneycard. I had just received a new one, with an expiration date of 2020, and loaded it when I realized there was an unauthorized deduction made. When I called to report it the agent told me my account would be closed and another card sent. I said that would be fine. After one month I still had not received my replacement card. I called again and was apologized to and told it would be sent. When I finally received it, it was not the same kind of card. I called the customer service number on the back of the card and was told by the agent that this was the card being issued now. I have never had any issues with Walmart Moneycard until now. I just wish I could get a replacement of my original card.

We have used our WMC for 6 years for direct deposits, tax returns, bills, groceries, gas, online purchases, etc. without issue until they decide that one of these regular occurrences is 'unusual activity' and block the card. They do send an email when this happens but it is always a declined transaction that alerts me to the issue. After I submit a picture of the front and back of my drivers license, it says that they will need 2 days to approve my ID and unblock my card.
In the meantime, my direct deposit is returned (which creates a whole other issue) and I have NO money to do the things this cards entire purpose is to do - buy my children food, keep a roof over their heads, buy gas to get to work and so on. There is NO customer service number, just a bs automated system that is useless. It is clear they dont give a damn about the hardships this causes their customers, just the money in their pocket from holding funds that are not theirs to hold and the money saved by an overseas call center (that is also NO help at all). I am done with this company and can only hope the hardships they have caused my family will serve as a deterrent to anyone else who thinks this card is a good deal.

I'm so furious. I filed a dispute on Dec 19 and was told with holidays it would be Jan 2. I received new cards and stayed patient. I called yesterday morning to find out status and was told to call back in the afternoon. I called back and again was told to call back after 2. I called back again and was told there was no updates but there was 3 possible outcomes. I asked for a manager but none were available. I was promised a call back within 4 hours, this morning at 5 am I was still waiting so called again.
I was again told about the 3 outcomes and because there was no updates the money should be back in my account this morning while they complete the dispute which could take 45 days. I asked for a supervisor again and was told 24 to 72 hours. This is ridiculous. I just spoke to "Chris" who said they know nothing. After 4 years of being a customer I feel lied to and betrayed. I told her I will be contacting the news and every social media I can find.
When I first called them about this I was told to just file the dispute and they would handle it. Now I am wishing I wouldn't have let them handle it. It has left my 3 year old twins with no Christmas except 2 Hot Wheels cars and me begging them for help and basically being put off. This card is great as long as you never have an issue or need anything they promise.

I have been using Walmart money card since I started working for Murphy USA which is Walmart's affiliated gas station. I only got the card because I had to get my checked direct deposited. My checks would always come the day before. Usually at 7 in the morning but a lot of times for whatever reason they would wait and release my check to me at sometimes 2 in the afternoon. I used my card at Murphy's DAILY and at Walmart ALL of the time due to working right in front of it. Then they came out with this whole cash back rewards program. Which never states if your card is a part of it. I had just assumed mine was because again it never states if it is or isn't. I just hit the one year of having my card and guess what? It is not a part of the cash back rewards program.
So spending all that money at Murphy's and Walmart and having my monthly charges waived every single month for the last year was pointless. If you are already a card holder you SHOULD NOT have to order ANOTHER card just to get this feature. It's pretty unfair in my opinion because I've had to deal with this no English speaking company for a year now and I get nothing from it.

I have used Walmart money card for one year. The Black Card only has a $3 a month maintenance fee but if you load $500 in the previous month that fee is waived. The biggest complaint I have is having the wrong balance which has happened twice over the year and caused some embarrassment when I went to pay for something. And of course when you call to work something out there are no operators that you can understand. They have fixed it twice on their own but always took a matter of a couple weeks. Other than that only card I know that I can put $500 on the previous month and have no balance fee and I can do anything with this card I can do with my bank card. Actually probably a lot more.

I was sold the card to secure funds for my Puerto Rico trip and it didn't help me at all. On Christmas Day I checked my account only to see it was not just cleared out but had a negative balance. I live in Birmingham Alabama and charges from California cleaned me out the same day I used my pin in Birmingham. Most cards and banks will flag your card if it's not in the normal spending area but obviously not this one. It's Jan 2nd and I still haven't received my money or a phone call from Walmart about the issue or progress.
I've been told they are still investigating the transaction like it's not obvious I can't be in two places at the same time. I can't get any info about available security features or talk directly to a fraud department. Is it not mandatory for cards to have chips now for extra security? I just want answers on when I can pay my bills since my trip has already been compromised thanks to this card. The only answer I can get is "we don't have enough information at this time to answer that." I can't tell that to the power company..
Update on 1/07/2017: Was quoted the 6th of January to have my money back from my fraud claim and I still have not been reimbursed for a charge that was made on the other side of the US. I made the claim in Christmas Day and they keep telling me lies to get me off the phone.

I have used WALMART MONEYCARD several years, with only one problem of fraud, where someone stole a few bucks. I reported the theft, none of the money was returned, but the card was replaced, and I moved on. What a mistake. I should have dropped the card then, I just didn't pay attention. On November 3rd, 2016, I visited a vitamin company's website, to order vitamins. I found they had an order phone line, customers should call for placing orders. I asked my fiancé to call and place the order, which he did. He made contact with the company representative, placed the order, received a confirmation number, concluded the call believing the transaction had been successful.
When after a few minutes had passed, the company representative, called back and stated, "I am having a problem with your card, no funds are showing up to transfer to pay for the vitamins." My fiancé double checked the card information and confirmed it with the vitamin company, so they could try again, again without success. I proceeded to alert WALMART MONEYCARD to the issue of no order being made because the company claimed they received no funds, while when I login, all the funds had been debit from my account. Someone had taken far much more money than had been authorized, they have cleaned out all funds.
And while my account statement names the vitamin company as the receiver of my entire hard earned money stash. WALMART MONEYCARD denies my claim, telling me I need to send in documentation that I do not have. My money has simply disappeared. My life has become hopeless and void, because of WALMART MONEYCARD failure. It actually feels as though WALMART MONEYCARD has stolen from me. I used to recommend it to family, friends and strangers but no more. Now I tell everyone to STAY AWAY. I do not have any documentation other than my account record.
Updated on 01/17/2017: This is a continues the heart breaking saga of the naïve, uninformed and deceived. After my first review posted here, the GREEN DOT corporation made claim to having tried to contact me by phone several times, at least that's what the private emails sent to me here state. Hmmmm... sounds dubious to me because I have voice mail available but no one at GREEN DOT bothered to leave any messages. I just happened to think of checking on the review I wrote here and "Le Voila." Just as all of the hard earned money I loaded on the GREEN DOT CORP/WALMART MONEYCARD simply vanished, without prior notice emails, that have me believing they are filled with dishonesty.
When I at first discovered them, I became optimistic towards a just and fair resolution to the fraudulent scam I became victim of, that was short lived. I left a reply reiterating my contact information, but while doing so I noticed that, while asking me to contact them there was not a phone number nor name list, optimism faded. So I looked up the GREEN DOT CORP number hoping that GREEN DOT CORP would be separate from WALMART MONEYCARD but to no avail. After several attempts to speak with someone that was honest, I wound up speaking to the same clearing house low life scumbag as before.
Folks help me to sound an ALARM to the unsuspecting public about these THIEVES. These people cannot and should not be trusted. The public needs to be made aware of the fact that these cards are not insured against fraud by the FDIC. Another aspect of this thing is that there is no government investigation on any suspended fraud that I could find.
Don't take this comment wrong but these people are working out of a country that recently has been proven to be ripe with scammers taking advantage of US citizens. It is my hope that others that have fallen victim to one of these unprotect thief employing corporations would join with me in getting the government to enact a law requiring them to shout it out they do not guarantee secure online transactions or that your money is NOT insured by FDIC. It may be there in the small print, but that's just part of these corporate scam, "it's in our literature." They take advantage of the ETHICS and HONESTY of hard working men and women that reflect their work ethics onto these corrupt money stealing corporations. On December 31st 2016 I purchased a Walmart prepaid money card in which I put $79 on at Walmart. When I got home I went to the website to register the card and gave all information correctly that they required. Upon doing so I was told that they could not verify who I was and then I would not be able to get a card with my name on it and could only use my temporary card for normal purchases. Just meaning I could not get the cash off my card. I can only use it as credit and I can't reload the card because they cannot verify my information because they don't know what information I missing. The card was purchased to be able to load a certain amount of money by a certain amount of time so I could buy a bus ticket home.
I have talked to two customer service reps. One said they were in Utah and the second time I called and the phone was answered by a very similar sounding woman who told me she was in the Philippines that she had no supervisors that could help me with my problem and I could only use my card for regular purchases and the word sorry about a hundred times. I did everything that was required of me after purchasing and opening the package. None of these stipulations in which they are stating are noted on the outside of the package. It is a cash back money card debit and I can only use it as credit and I cannot reload it so I don't have enough money to purchase the whole amount that I need to credit to the card and they will not give me a corporate number and they are supposed to be calling me back. Can somebody please help?

On December 5, 2016 my card was used in Los Angeles, CA. I've never been there. I live in Kettering, Ohio. When found out that day what had happened that $176 was taken at a Walgreens start for the exact amount that was on card. After several call and filling out dispute forms twice it's been 25 days and they have not put my money back on my new card they issued.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the Walmart money card since the person I talked to to set up my card got MY social security wrong and now I cannot reach anybody to fix this problem. Now I have a dang card that has MY hard earned money on it and can't use any of it with the dang card I was sent to me.

This has to be the absolute worst! I started an account online and never received my card in the mail. After that I requested another card and never got that one. I've spoken with multiple people who I cannot understand and they've made clear they didn't understand me as well. Finally I speak with a lady who promise to waive a fee that will ship the third card free and we even attempted to send it to a different address. I'm not sure what happened after that call but now my account is locked and since I don't have a card the only way to unlock it is if I send a photo through the mail and wait a couple of day after they receive it to verify the account. They've been holding for 275 of mine for over a month now and I can't touch it. Do not learn the hard way like me. There is no one you can talk to that you can feel confident about.

Purchased Wal-Mart visa that is Green Dot. My complete family plays online games and wanted to use prepaid visa cards to prevent kids from racking up my credit card. This also prevents hackers from being able to run you out of money if your online account ever gets compromised. I purchased a total of 6 cards as I have 5 people playing games in our family. Logged into each card after getting home and ensured the balance I put on them was showing and it was. We play games only from Trion (www.trionworlds.com) and made purchases on monthly time and stuff family wanted for the game from Trion. We only purchased stuff from Trion but after the first day started to get rejections from visa card from Green Dot.
After calling the number on the back of the card that really is Green Dot I was told that I had made suspicious activity and they won't let me re-fill cards and to never use them again. I said, "What did I do?" "You were flagged and that is all we can say!" I asked again and they said "we don't know, it's a computer thing" and was being treated like a criminal! They said I could never use them again! I said ok, send me a refund of what I have remaining that was around 100.00 on all cards. They said they would but treated me like I had purchased something illegal even though it was just game time from Trion. Got the letter today telling me unless I send a picture of my driver license, receipts of cards, front and back of cards they will give me no money back.
They said, "Your refund is inconsistent with average customer behavior." No ** you not letting me use your cards to make legal purchases of game time is inconsistent with a card company! Well, my identity is important to me and I'm not going to send all the information needed to steal my identity through the mail where someone can take it. If you want me to go to the local Wal-Mart and show them my driver's license I'm cool with that! Ok, how many of you keep every receipt you get for personal that you know is handled! I bet I don't have it anymore as I already proved who I was and checked the balance and had the correct amount.
So now I'm out the 100.00 and being treated like a criminal because I had a few cards to play online games. Check the logs and you will see Trion is the only purchases ever made! I want this cleared up or will take it to my legal console for review! So I spent some money on a game, NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! This all over around 600.00 in total. I would never use Wal-Mart or Green Dot card ever again and plan to talk with local store manager and maybe corporate Wal-Mart.

I had money taken from me off my card from several transactions from the same company. I did not authorize any foreign country, such as a website out of Armenia, to charge anything! I called customer service and could barely understand the individual I was speaking to. It took this website a matter of seconds to steal 172.00 from me, so why should I have to wait 10 business days to have my money back? Poor customer service!

I have had a Walmart MoneyCard for years. I have my paycheck direct deposited onto it and it is ok, unless you have a problem. The calls are answered by a call center that is clearly not in the USA. The agents are rude, hard to understand and not helpful at all. They do not answer questions but read responses like robots. BEWARE if your card is compromised. They will expect you to wait 10 business days while they investigate.
I had money withdrawn from my acct at an atm in a city I have never been to. I called immediately to report the theft and they didn't start the dispute until 3 days after I reported it, which delayed my resolution date. The call center agents refuse to let me speak to a supervisor and tell me none are available no matter what time I call. I was even hung up on by Andre employee who refused to help. He placed me on hold for 20 minutes saying he was physically walking around looking for a supervisor. I can not believe a multi billion dollar company would choose to be represented in such a poor manner.
Beware, if you are like me and if waiting ten business days to be reimbursed for money that you earned that was a clear case of fraud would be difficult for you to handle, do not use this card. They are not like normal banks, they will treat you like crap and not care how your life is affected. I will never do business with Wal-mart or their money card ever again. I have given them way too much of my money to be treated this way. Walmart you should be ashamed treating your loyal customers this way!!!

On Thursday, December 15, 2016 I noticed unauthorized charges on my account. We immediately notified Walmart MoneyCard, cancelled our cards and ordered new ones, and was given instructions on filing a claim. On Friday, December 16, 2016 I submitted a Transaction Dispute Form/Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit for our Claim Number via e-mail. On Friday, December 23, 2016 we received our new cards.
According to the information on the Walmart MoneyCard website, "We will determine whether an error occurred within 10 business days after we hear from you and will correct any error promptly. If we need more time, we may take up to 45 days to investigate. If we need more time, we credit your card within 10 business days for the amount you think is in error, so that you will have the money during the time it takes us to complete our investigation. If we ask you to put your complaint or question in writing and we do not receive it within 10 business days, we may not provisionally credit the card".
We verbally notified Walmart MoneyCard 9 business days ago and put our complaint in writing 8 business days ago. The error has not been corrected as of today and I have not received any communication from Walmart MoneyCard in regards to resolving these unauthorized transactions. I e-mailed Walmart MoneyCard on Saturday, December 24, 2016 asking for an update and Tuesday, December 27, 2016 asking for an update. I have yet to hear back from Walmart MoneyCard. The unauthorized transactions originated in the Middle East!!! We have not traveled outside of the country.
The lack of communication is ridiculous. This is especially stressful during the holidays. We have stopped any future direct deposits to this account and intend on closing the account when our money is credited back to us - if it ever is approved. By the other reviews on this website, I am doubtful I will ever see my stolen money again.

I've had Walmart money card for 5+ years and have had no issues. My account’s always been in good standing, never any fraud, no disputes of any kind and overall have had a great experience with this card until now. On 11/30/16 I purchased a hoverboard online for $199.99. Never got the hoverboard I paid for and on 12/12 the company was shut down as they were fraudulent! I made a complaint with the Florida General attorney’s office as that's where the business was, submitted a BBB complaint, submitted a complaint with my state’s attorney office and with the consumer protection agency as the company will not refund my money and has advised I needed to go to my bank and request a refund, so I did!
On 12/12 I submitted a dispute with Green Dot, gave them all the information, and was told my dispute is denied as they don't get involved with any merchant disputes. It's not their responsibility as I gave the company my card number for the purchase and once I did Walmart money card nor Green Dot will assist in any way as it's not their problem. I can't get a refund from the company as they have been shut down! Not only did the company screw me so did Green Dot as I have no hoverboard nor the $199.99 I paid for it! I've given Green Dot all the complaint letters and an email from the company telling me to dispute it with my bank and yet they refuse to assist!
I've never disputed anything with Green Dot as I've never had to until now and this is how I'm treated! I don't call this company nonstop, don't make waves, use my card faithfully with direct deposits every two weeks and yet they show no loyalty to a customer who costs them no money. No one at the customer care line gives two cents about this situation and refuses to even provide a valid reason other than the statement "It's your responsibility, not ours"! If this is truly how this company wants to act then I'll go elsewhere as it's clear my business has no meaning to them!

I returned a TV on 12-19-2016 at Walmart. The customer service put my refund on this Wal-Mart moneycard. The original purchase was on my bank card. Two minutes after the upload of funds was received the card was blocked. Not only was that transaction blocked they blocked all money on the card. I have made I know 35 calls to them at 877-937-4098 and I get the same run-around on every call saying I have to give it 24 hours.
I gave them 4 days to resolve this. They took Christmas away from my kids and family. All this was to start with was a simple upload of money. Why did it needed to be investigated? I feel I deserved to be compensated for them basically stealing my money. I still do not have access to my money. They tell me to wait on a phone call but they never call. Do not believe them to be helpful. Service is a joke

On my payday I noticed 3 charges I did not make in New York. I called immediately and spoke to a customer service representative. I was told I would have to go online and fill out paperwork and submit. I did that. Now 2 weeks later they have not even made a decision on whether I'm getting my money back or not. I did see in other reviews the same thing happen to them at Duane Read in New York. My disgust is with Green Dot / Walmart card though. I have done everything they have asked and they can't even tell me straight whether the case is complete or not. I would not get one of these cards again.

Got Walmart MoneyCard in October, used on eBay several times. Had my payroll checks DD'd onto card. Never received my "permanent" card, they had my name and email address wrong and refused to correct that issue, 15 failed attempts online to change my email address because the confirmation code they email me is claimed invalid. Purchased an item off eBay last week for $221, seller informs me a week later he doesn't even have the item listed (fraudulent listing). Me and seller agree to a refund being issued. PayPal informs me they [Walmart] would not let them refund the money to my account. I call Walmart "bank" to ask them why, they inform me they deactivated my account because I should have received my permanent card, and I could just wait until another new card (3rd one I've never received) to be able to get any money out of my account.
Now I have $61 on my card, $221 PayPal can't return to said card, and my entire paycheck being direct deposited into an account they deactivated against my wishes. They claim it's "to protect me from fraud" yet the only fraud occurring is from them. How do they legally deny someone access to their payroll? How do they take it upon themselves to deactivate my account, block me from access online, refuse to let me correct my name and email address, refuse to acknowledge or correct THEIR mistakes. And just completely deny a person the money they WORK for, that's my paycheck they're holding ILLEGALLY and against my wishes. Customer service is a complete joke, they are VERY unhelpful and uncooperative. Flat out fraudulent thieves. Scumbag store should be put out of business.

I acquired the WalMart Money/Debit card so I could use the photo check deposit feature that many banks now have. But the truth is the Walmart Money Card rejects all check and money order deposits. It has rejected my attempted photo check deposits from well established accounts from Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and major money order companies. This was an intended scam by Walmart money card and Green Dot Bank to lure you into paying their high cash reload and monthly fees and stop you from making photo check deposits.
Why does the WalMart money card reject photo check deposits? Simple--so they can charge the higher fees with cash deposits and collect the $5 monthly fee by avoiding you from making $1,000+ deposits which eliminates the monthly fee. So I would advise that EVERYONE CLOSE THEIR WALMART MONEY CARD ACCOUNT and go a bank that actually does offer and allows this feature.

I had purchased gas at a local Giant gas station and used my Walmart MoneyCard. As it always does they pre-authorize $100 then let me pump the gas. I receive $58.75 worth of gas and a Walmart MoneyCard paid them $58.75 as well as Holden $100 for the pre-authorization then tell me it's 10 days before I get my money back. What gives them the right to hold your money for 10 days? The biggest mistake of my life is trusting a prepaid card to put my money in. The only advice I have for everybody out there, don't get to Walmart MoneyCard. You'll be very dissatisfied just as I am.

On December 2, 2016 we called to disputed transactions on our account. As a result the card was cancelled and a new one issued. Here it is the 15th and NO CARD!! My whole paycheck was deposited into that account and I have no way to access it. I call the number on the back of the card and never get a human. I have to know the new card number and expiration date to even use the automated system. I emailed and was told to cancel the card and order another!! So, wait two more weeks with no money?? I have 4 kids, my bills need to be paid, and I can't even buy food because I have no card!!! I will withdraw everything and no longer use Walmart MoneyCard once I'm homeless and starving for lack of being able to access my hard earned money. Cruel company.

My card was cloned and used by someone in Brooklyn. There were 7 purchases at a Duane Reade Walgreens store in Brooklyn NY equaling $766.00. I immediately called Walmart's Green Dot card company to tell them that there were purchases made by someone other than myself. They told me to go online and fill out a report. I did. Then I called Walgreens. They took a report and said that they would check into it. I had requested a new card and being the optimist that I am, I started worrying that if Walgreens reimbursed me, my money might not go to the right account, so I called Walmart back. They told me that it would take 10 business days for them to investigate. Why 10 days? That makes no sense! I'm in Austin, the card was used in Brooklyn. It's obvious that I didn't use my card!
I called Walgreens back the next day and they told me I needed to file a police report, so I did. It took a week for a detective to finally call me back. They told me that they could mail the report to Brooklyn because finding the precinct and the fax number would be too hard. I literally googled the police department for the Walgreens in Brooklyn, got the number and called to ask for the fax number. They wouldn't give it to me, so I emailed the Austin police department and gave them the precinct and phone numbers for the police department in Brooklyn so that they could get the fax number. It just feels like nobody wants to do the simplest of things to help me.
I called Walmart back today (day 7) and they refuse to give me an update on their big investigation. They've never called me or emailed me to ask any questions. Whenever I've called Walgreens they say that Walmart hasn't called them to ask any questions. So, what the heck are they investigating? They haven't called me or the company where the purchases were made! They didn't even want my police report number when I called to give it to them. I had to BEG them to put it in my report.
Walmart MoneyCard is a ripoff. They won't help you when you need help the most. That 766 dollars is my rent money! I'm going to be homeless if they don't reimburse me! I know "banks" have insurance to cover this type of thing! Why do they take 10 days if they aren't truly investigating anything? They emailed me and told me to call the number on the back of the card for update information. I called the number and they just told me it would take 10 days and that they will email me or send a letter on the 16th, which is a Saturday, so I won't hear anything until Monday which will be 12 days. Walmart has the worst customer service I've ever seen. This is an important matter and they are treating it like it's nothing. I'm going to contact the FDC and the BBB. It's MY money that was stolen, not theirs!

My card has been charged several times in another state. Had to call to let them know. Said they would do an investigation and it would be handled in ten business days. Over three weeks later no news except "we are still investigating." Investigating what? I live in Florida. My card was used in Connecticut on black Friday in a shopping mall. I need my money. My rent is way past due.

Unfortunately for me I will be writing a review for both Walmart moneycard and Green Dot corps once they are affiliated. My card was used online by an unauthorized person in the amount of 216.45. No one has called or email me back to even say that my dispute has been received. This is very disheartening and has been a great inconvenience to me with Christmas just days away. Sorry to say that Walmart moneycard has been a thorn in my side since the merging of Green Dot. This is perhaps the worst thing Walmart could have done for its customers. After my money is gone off this card, I will find another company to house my funds in. It is simply not safe in Green Dot's hands.

This has been the third time my information has been compromised. The first and second time I never received my money back although I didn't authorize the purchases this particular time I got paid and while I was working magically someone or something in Elkton Maryland and Northeast Maryland had access to my card information and subsequently took every dime I had to my name. Mind you I stay in Albany GA... I called, filed my disputes, sent the email to the dispute email address. I didn't hear anything back. I called. Spoke with someone who said he was a dispute counselor then later Says he was a supervisor... He told me I wouldn't get my card until the 19th of December and I wouldn't hear about my dispute until the 22nd or December. Mind you I called and started the dispute process on the 8th of December.
He told me the Walmart where my money and funds were accessed isn't able to be contacted but how when they allowed someone to make those purchases and didn't even use a pin because I have a for my card. I have a family to provide for and everything. Not to mention Christmas is right around the corner. You would think that they would give a care but they don't still and yet it's "Oh I'm sorry ma'am we will be notifying you by mail or email..." but I didn't get notified when my money was taken and I'm signed up for alerts. I work too hard for my money for it to constantly get taken and the Greendot Bank Walmart MoneyCard people give zero cares about it.
I have all my information saved on my phone so if they try that glitching mess again I already have my ducks in a row because I will sue for what's rightfully mine. You are supposed to be able to trust your bank. Not be afraid. Time you get your paycheck. Someone ghostly access your funds and your bank do nothing to fight for your money back. Someone need to do something about this company.

I put $400 on a reloadable Walmart MoneyCard. After trying to register it online and having issue after issue I decided to close the card and try to get my cash back. It took almost an hour struggling with Walmart customer service to get my money pulled back out. They had to do 4 different transactions and still left me with $5 on the card I cannot get back (after of course charging me the $5 fee even though I never used the card). I am unable to close the card until I exhaust the $5 remaining balance however I can't get the remaining $5 off the card. Customer service can't get it to release the $5 to me and I can't use the card anywhere which essentially means I am unable to close the account. My experience was horrible and I will never visit a Walmart store again.

I bought a Walmart Visa Prepaid Card at my local Walmart located in Butler, Pennsylvania. The morning of December the 11th I finally had time to use it. I bought it to purchase stuff online for family members for Christmas. I opened my card out of the package and went on walmartgift.com. Typed in all the information to register it. It said my card was used in Lakewood, California on Dec. the 8th. I live in Pennsylvania so it was not me using the card! It was used 3 times in Lakewood California, first at McDonald's where it used $2.67, then at Best Buy where whoever it was spent $127.88, then finally at Macy's where someone spent $78.45 with my card, all on Dec. the 8th and all in Lakewood, California. I live in Pennsylvania and have never been out of state in my life.
I called my local Walmart and all they could do was tell me to call the number that was on back of card. I did that, pressed the number 2 which is the number you press to report it stolen after you put your card information in, just for them to tell me no money left on card. Goodbye! I need help because I have been robbed and just want my money back!

I simply submitted to Advanced Financial twice for a loan. They approved me, but needed my bank statement from Walmart MoneyCard, which they said they successfully do all the time. Both times they got the same info, my account info went through, but it returns a savings only with an 11.90 balance. This balance is not even anywhere on my card, vault or otherwise. I called because it is Christmas and I need this very badly. I tell everyone to get this card. But now, I need to get a real bank account I guess. I thought this was one. I called, and I got the runaround from a guy named "Kim" and a girl, both I could barely understand and when I asked for a supervisor he said "no, there is no reason to escalate this call. I have helped you enough." But he could not explain to me why when they ran my account number it only showed 0's.
I have been here for almost 2 years. I'm so upset because I called several times and got the same girl. I begged for anyone else, and nope. No Americans either. I am NOT racist, but if I cannot understand you, how am I going to be anything but frustrated? I told her 5 times I didn't understand her even saying anything but transaction, and I kept telling her it's not a transaction. I swear, I believe in businesses, but am wasting 10 minutes on here to tell others because I am now in tears. I had a great day, and now tears. And they say, "we did everything". I have been a customer service rep. I know if the customer is not understanding you have not done your job. And I asked her, "do you know what Decision Logic is?" They run it really quickly for loan stuff. I know, I can get a real bank, but I was so happy here. Anyway, maybe think hard if you consider this card.

I purchased a Walmart MoneyCard for a hotel stay because my family and I were homeless. The hotel placed a hold on the card and charged me $75 per day. Then I woke up this morning and I had a negative balance of -$81. I called Walmart MoneyCard customer service, the told me the charges were pending and it would be twelve days before we got our money back. It is 27 degrees, and it will be 16 degrees tonight. We have a two-month-old baby and nowhere to go. Don't BUY THIS CARD! They tell you they can only take the money off that is posted to the card, but that's obviously not the truth because I have a negative balance, and now we are homeless and have nowhere to stay tonight.

I returned an item in store yesterday for $139.30. Original transaction had already posted to account before return. I had to swipe the card to get the refund amount back on my card. They gave it to me and then immediately debited back my card for the $139.30. The funds are pending and not available to me. I have the receipt from the merchant even showing that they did not debit me again, only credited my account with the approval code, etc. And it was a WALMART company for goodness sake so it should be instant. Called up "customer service". Was told yesterday to expect it today as she had released the hold. When that didn't happen, called this morning and spoke with a supervisor that said the 15th (this is 8 days from refund date). They transferred me to Corporate where I spoke with someone who admitted several times that it was THEIR fault and should be available in 3 business days, not the 15th.
If it is YOUR fault and you admitted to it being caused by YOUR reps, then why can't YOU fix it? All reps said they could see the transaction would never post, and additionally the corporate guy, David said it was an "empty hole" transaction. This has happened twice now since I switched to this card a few months ago from NetSpend due to the convenience of Walmart and the cash back offer. The cash back is not that great to have to experience this.

I was to get my Dec. 1st 2016 ssi deposit but Walmart states they have not received it but SSA (U.S. Treasury) claims I got the Dec. 1st 2016 check deposited and cleared on Dec. 1st and it was processed yet it does not show up in my Walmart MoneyCard acct on Dec 1st 2016. Walmart stated it needs a 15 digit trace number but the trace number provided by the SSA is more than 15 digits. I have rent to pay and just moved into a rental and rent is due NOW and I need my DEC 1st 2016 check be refunded by walmart moneycard immediately. I even had walmart and SSA on a (recorded) three way call today Dec 8th 2016 and they still did not clear up the issue about my missing SSI check for Dec 2016. Each month before this I never had an issue with SSI deposits. I always got my SSI checks deposited on time. Yet my Dec. 1st check has not posted to my moneycard acct. WALMART must replace my lost funds immediately.

So, I have used the same day online bank transfer to add money to my Walmart MoneyCard before, and my bank card and account have already been verified and set up, yet this morning I tried to transfer $180 from my bank account onto my Walmart MoneyCard for a total of $182.95 after the $2.95 same day bank transfer fee that Walmart MoneyCard charges for this feature. I received a decline statement after trying to transfer the money and thought that the transaction just didn't go through because my bank didn't approve the transaction or something. I pulled up my bank account online to get their phone number and my transaction history shows that the transaction went through and the $182.95 from Walmart MoneyCard has been taken out of my account.
I called the bank and they said that the transaction was approved by them and the funds have been taken out of my account and that Walmart MoneyCard has to approve and process the transaction on their end. I called Walmart MoneyCard's customer service number and she had absolutely no idea what she was doing and gave me like 3 different answers/excuses of what is going on that made absolutely no sense and were not true and the case # was escalated to a supervisor who was supposed to call within 4 hours and no one ever did. My money is now in Walmart limbo (AKA, their pocket) and no one can give me an answer or rectify the problem. Complete hassle and waste of time and money. I bought a Walmart MoneyCard a few days ago. My experience before having this current card was excellent. But my current situation is once I bought my car and I made a few purchases with the card and now that I have direct deposit going to it, my entire check was sent back to my company. When I try to contact someone from customer service all I've gotten so far is an automated machine that will not let me go past putting in my card information. I was offered no other way to speak with someone, just an automated system.
I have sent several emails to support or customer support and have got no replies, no emails, no phone calls, nothing. I'm very dissatisfied with the way this system has become. And I have had several cards and this is the first time that I've had a very bad experience like this and I'm very disappointed. I contacted them earlier during the day and someone should have gotten back to me by now either by phone call or email, which it said that it would. But I've heard nothing from anyone, no response, no emails, no one's saying "well we're working on the issue or the problem". Nothing, no.
I don't know if this is going to help or if someone is going to get in touch with me based on what I'm saying here but I hope it does help because this is crazy. I can't even pay my bills now because I have to wait before my company to send my check to me now, which is very discouraging. I have kids, car note, rent and so on. So if this helps, if my information that I put in to create this account help to speed up the process, someone please contact me. Thank you.

On November 13th, I lost my debit card so I called the not-so customer service on the 15th and had them send me a new one. They said "Will be there in 7-10 business days and that it would be NO LATER THAN THE 28th." That was fine. I could deal with that. Since then, my paycheck has been direct deposited onto the card and it is now December 1st and guess what? No card. I call the not so customer service and ask them what was the deal and NOBODY IN THE ENTIRE PLACE knows anything. All they say is "I understand. I'm sorry. I'll send you a new card."
That's not the point, I NEED my ** money to pay bills, buy food, etc. They don't care. They "have no way to access my money" without this card. Nor will they even attempt to try and help you. Literally the worst customer service I've ever dealt with, they're unknowledgeable, NOBODY speaks English, they don't care, just all around horrible. My advice to ANYONE getting one of these cards is god forbid DO NOT LOSE IT!!! Especially if you use it regularly. Once I get this card that is "supposed to be here in 3 days" I will be withdrawing my money from the card and never ever using it again.

I have literally purchased close to $10,000 worth of Walmart Visa MoneyCards. Having never had the cards compromised I had no idea what an absolute pain in the butt it is to try and do something about it. I had a card that I used to purchase something online. Shortly thereafter I went to try and use the card again and it showed no balance. I immediately went online to check my balance and discovered the card has first been used the same day I had made my online purchase by someone who obviously copied the card and then used it at a McDonald's 500 miles away from me. Once they figured it worked, I assume they figured out from there how to drain the card.
I immediately submitted the required form and NOT ONLY emailed it to the address listed BUT ALSO faxed it. I NEVER HEARD A WORD FROM WALMART!! When you call the customer service number on the back of the card there is no live person to get to!!! There is no option to speak to an operator. So I ended up calling the regular (non debit/cash) Walmart Visa customer service.
The lady advised me she can't help but thankfully she gave me a different number to call and I actually spoke to someone live WHO WAS NO HELP AT ALL!! By the way, that number is 866-652-4611 if you have an issue with your cash card and need a human being. All she has told me is that someone has charged $200 at a Best Buy using my card and it's been in a "pending transaction" mode for the last 3 weeks now. She said once it clears I can call back but she offered me absolutely NO ASSURANCE that I will ever see the approximately $220 that was stolen from me. I'm switching to the more expensive Visa cash cards that have live humans you can talk to. Beware!

On 11/9/16 my debit card info was stolen and used for cash advance in New York. I promptly filed a dispute, card was canceled. Almost 3 weeks later Green Dot refuses to refund my 400 dollars. They have told me they cannot rectify the issue and they are terribly sorry!!! The proof the charges are fraudulent is there as I used my card while on my vacation 1500 miles away from where the charges were made!!! Green Dot/Wal-Mart MoneyCard is a scam. They have taken money from people & the fact a bank thinks they don't need to correct such errors is disgusting!!!

Ok, I noticed my balance wasn't right so I looked through it and there was $35 just gone. So I called and was talking to costumer service, took a screenshot of account. As I was going through charges, I got logged off. When I re-logged on, my history had changed. My beginning of month balance went from $46.85 to $11.85 and magically it all worked out now. I can't find where they did it cause only have screenshot of this month's account history so don't know who to get a hold of cause they now think everything is fine.

Well I bought a MoneyCard from Walmart. I put about $20 on it that it came with a temporary card that I got at the store. It worked fine and the one came in the mail. Had it for two weeks then I activated it. I went to Walmart. Times are tough for me right now so when I say that I took my last $33 and loaded it on the card my balance shows that I have $26 fees, you know how that goes. Problem is they sent me a card with the security code ** that's not even in the computer system so it's no good. My money is stuck on there and I can't use it anywhere and also a customer service does at the store tell me they can't help me, to call 877 # and I have several times. It's just one person sending me to another, it's just a big circle and it doesn't get me anywhere, eventually just leads to me putting in those security code number and then cutting me off and telling me there's no more to this so basically they're taking my money.

I purchased this card originally for an organization because the fees were cheaper than some of the other cards so that I could keep track of the donated money. Well let me just say that this card's fees may have been cheaper but it charged me for every purchase! There was either a $1.00 or 2.00 transaction fee depending on if I used the PIN or it was considered an "e-signature". Unfortunately for me I didn't realize this until I'd made several purchases keeping up with the amount left on the card and it came back declined. This card even charged me a fee on the canceled transaction. This is absolutely ridiculous.
I will never, ever purchase this card again. A regular visa gift card is a better deal where I pay the fee upfront load the funds and spend away without worrying how many times I use the card and how much money is being stolen for using the product nor do I have to deal with the crazy registration where I have to release my social security #! I've learned my lesson and will stay far far away from this product. Shame on this company, it should come with a large warning label about this foolishness!

I had a terrible experience with a pending transaction. I had a charge for a hotel on my card. The hotel "compensated" me my room. Therefore, it was no charge so they didn't charge me. Well upon notifying Walmart Money Card, they still put a hold on my money. They kept telling me that they needed a release from the hotel. So, I called the hotel and was told they released the hold on my card the day after I checked out. Walmart Money Card was actually who I needed to speak with.
Well, it has been almost 3 days and the transaction still shows pending and when I call Walmart Money Card, they keep telling me they don't see where the money has been refunded by the hotel. I can wait until December 6, which will be over a week, and it I don't have it then I can file a dispute. My question is why is it that you can purchase something and the money is gone the same day but they can't reverse a transaction the same day??? It doesn't make sense for them to hold on to my money for over a week.

My card was compromised. I was issued a new card only to have it compromised as well... same thing again. Well the last time it was compromised, the total purchases were approximately 715 dollars. It was reported by me immediately in August. Since then, despite many calls, paperwork submission and effort on my part, I was told my claim was denied due to my not cooperating with them. I filed an appeal, resubmitted all my paperwork. I am still waiting for resolution. The number of the representative handling my claim is never available. Whenever I call, I am treated like a nuisance or an inconvenience. I am highly dissatisfied. This has been an extremely stressful ordeal made worse by this company. I will not give up until my money is refunded, but you can rest assured I will never do business with them nor recommend them to anyone else. I pity anyone who has also experienced this.

In Aug of 2016 I purchased an item from eBay and used ONLY my Walmart Money Card for the purchase... I don't have PayPal however it is processed with PayPal at check out as one can do this without actually having a PayPal account. The item I purchased was not as described so was awarded a refund but had to send the item back first. I did so and the seller received the item in the same condition and ordered the refund with PayPal. However, Walmart Money Card will NOT accept the refund. I have called them over a dozen times as well as PayPal and even had Paypal on the phone once while talking with Walmart Money Card as to why they would not accept the refund. I was told by Paypal to open a case with Walmart for a chargeback which Walmart denied... It was then that PayPal got on the phone with me to see why.
Walmart said, "Try and open the case again," and AGAIN they denied the chargeback. Doing a chargeback according to Paypal is the ONLY way to get my refund. However, the customer service at Walmart Money Card seem to be lacking on understanding as no one speaks well put together English so can't seem to understand why they need to do the chargeback. PayPal has tried over 60 times, SIXTY TIMES to refund my money and each time Walmart denies the refund and TWICE they denied my chargeback case to get the money back another way.
So now here I am almost 4 months later with no item and no money and no way to get refunded. I have taken many items back to local stores and received a refund with no issues. But for some reason Walmart Money Card will not accept refunds from PayPal or eBay and I know this for sure now because as of today, Nov 28th I was to get ANOTHER refund for an item bought on eBay and she just told me that she has tried to refund my money and the error she gets is that the credit card won't accept the refund. WHAT THE FRICKEN HELL!!!
I am so sick of this damn dishonest card and that they care very little for someone like me that works hard for their money and pick and choose what merchants they will allow refunds from. They need to come up with a better system and fix this problem. Very unprofessional and very dishonest to do this to the average person that does not have this kind of money to just walk away from.

I opened this card three weeks ago, never received my new card, lost my card this past week and had it expedited, was charged not one, but two lost fees and an expedited fee. Here it is 3 business days later and no card. Was told it would be here by the 29th (7 days after I requested an expedited card). I have no access to my funds. My rent is due this week coming up and on top of that I have no gas! I absolutely will be withdrawing my funds and going to NetSpend!

I contacted a rep on 11-23-16 in regards to a transaction that I had issue with. It took forever for me to get to a rep who was willing to assist. After I explained the issue the rep advised that I could dispute the charge and he would have to cancel my card or I could go to the vendor since I explained I frequently do business with this vendor and maybe it was an error. I agreed to do that and requested that my card not be cancelled and I would contact the vendor. Hours later I go to swipe my card and it gets declined stating on hold.
I immediately contact customer service, get a supervisor on the line who says "well the rep cancelled your card and mailed you a new one". So I asked the supervisor "why would he do that on his own accord without my permission when on our recorded phone call he was advised not to and he also advised me of what to do to rectify the situation". The supposed Supervisor basically told me "well you have to wait 7-10 days to get your card and there's nothing we can do about it." I have had this card for years. It is so sad that reps are able to just change your information without your consent and there are no repercussions for their actions. Once I get my money off this card I will never deal with them again! Done DEAL!!!

I get paid every other Friday and the funds are loaded on my Walmart money card. My employer sent the funds and they cleared Tuesday before Thanksgiving just like they did last year and they were available the Friday after Thanksgiving, however not this year. Since the amount has cleared on my employer's side they cannot issue a check and Walmart money card cannot find my deposit. Try calling and all they can say is "we don't see that amount pending," while my employer is stating that the amount they sent has cleared and you all have the money.

The plus: No fees, and I can use the card for purchases up to my account balance, unlike some banks that set a daily fee. You can have multiple cards linked to the same account, good for married couples. The minus: The web page has quirks that make it difficult to manage your balance. The balance shown on the last transaction is rarely what is shown as your available card balance even though all your recent transactions are shown. Periodic times during the day the system will sync itself resulting on all the balance amounts changing to reflect the available card balance. Also, when a pending transaction gets processed, Walmart changed the date of the transaction and re-orders the transaction to fit the posted date, not the date of the actual transaction. Very confusing to look at if you are trying to recall things in chronological order.
It gives the appearance they are monkeying around with your money, and puts a question mark in if they are keeping an accurate account. With that said, I've never caught them in a mistake. Finally, at least in my area I find few places to make fee-free cash withdrawals and have to rely on cash back with a purchase. Ironically every time I try to get cash back at a Wal-Mart I get an error "debit not allowed".

On 11/22/16, my wife & I shopped at our local Walmart (Hillsborough Rd, Coconut Creek, Fl) for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday. After shopping and waiting in line to check out, our groceries were rung up for a total of $390. Our Walmart MoneyCard was declined 5 times and after calling the Customer Service (should be "we don't care about customer service") number listed on our card, I was told by a worthless supervisor named Ron that a fraud hold had been placed on our card. The Walmart Store Mgr spoke with Ron and he was unbelievably rude to even her. He told me that it would take 1 hour to remove the hold and instructed me to return to the store in exactly 1 hour and I could use my card. I returned exactly one hour later only to be told that the hold could take up to 24 hours to remove.
After I again demanded to speak to Ron, he reluctantly got back on the line and said he meant the time estimate according to Pacific Standard Time! I forcefully demanded my card and my money be made available to me immediately and imagine my surprise when he agreed and the hold was lifted. I then had to empty all the bagged items and have 2 carts of groceries re-scanned. In total, I spent 4 hours simply trying to shop for Thanksgiving and was treated like my business and my time meant absolutely nothing. Sam Walton did not build his business on this attitude and I am certain that Walmart could care less..I am just one customer and they have many more. Except for me, Hell will freeze over before I endure another experience like this. I am moving my money out of my Walmart MoneyCard and shopping at Publix from now on.

I attempted to purchase a gift card from Applebee's via their website on 10/22/2016. The money was immediately taken out of my account on 10/22/2016 although Applebee's declined the transaction. I was told by Applebee's that the money would be back in my account within 3 to 5 business days. After the 5 business days passed and the money was still not back in my account, I called Applebee's who stated they have indeed refunded my money and that it's my bank that is not releasing the funds. So I started calling customer service on a regular basis, what a joke.
Their customer service center must be located in Afghanistan because the phone is always cutting out and these people barely speak English. Good luck understanding a thing they are saying. But what I was able to make out of their broken English is that after 30 days the charge will disappear. It's been 30 days and guess what? The charge has not disappeared. 30 days and they are still holding my money. It took them 1 minute to remove it from my account, but 30 days later it still has not been refunded. We need to sue this fraudulent offshore worthless place.

I have had to get two different cards because someone got a hold off my card # in a different state than where I am. I wish they could come up with some way you could turn your card "off" when you are not using it and back on when you want to use it. It seems like they could figure this out somehow.

I have had nothing but issues with Walmart MoneyCard. I decided to get a card through this company because the card had some pretty neat perks that caught my interest with direct deposit. So I got a card and set up my direct deposit. Direct deposit got confirmed and was told my personalized card would come in 7 business days. 7 days went by and it didn't come. But I was patient since the temporary card still worked. I ended up misplacing my temporary card 11/14 so I reported it lost. Keep in mind that it has now been 7 weeks because I setup my account 10/1.
Back to what I was saying I reported my temporary card lost 11/15 and was told 3-5 business days for the replacement card to come. Then I realized I had still never received my personalized card so I called customer service. I talked to 5 different representatives over a 4 day span including today and I received nothing but lies and runaround. I have had the same address for over 5 years and I was told that my personalized card was sent Oct 1 which would put the card in my mailbox between Oct 8 and 11 if it was to come in 7 business days as I was told.
It is now November 21... still no personalized card. I am on the 6th business day for the replacement card which I was told that took 3-5 business days and was told today I had to wait 7 more days. So now I have to sit without any money for another week because they clearly have no solutions to get me my hard earned money immediately. I would not recommend this card to anyone now because apparently they are not punctual with their timeframes and do not care about how bad it inconveniences you to have money and can't access it in any way without the personalized card. I even asked to speak to managers and higher authorities and I got told once he wasn't there.
In the technology age that we live in today there is absolutely no reason things like this can't be expedited especially when I've clearly confirmed all my information for this account. Especially the fact I'm approaching the 8 week mark and still no personalized card. True it is unfortunate that I lost the temporary card in the midst of this but it does not take away the fact I was told 7 business days for my personalized card and it's so now almost been 8 weeks. I can't pay any bills. I have the app so I see money being deposited and I can't use it. I have been nothing short of patient but now I have due dates and can't wait any longer just to keep getting runaround and broken promises.

I got gas at my local QuikTrip. The card would not run as a credit so I had to run it as a debit and use the PIN #. A few hours later, my account was drained of nearly $250. This type of theft is called skimming. A criminal collects the data from the card used at the gas pump. I immediately filled out a dispute form and waited my 10 business days to get my money back, I thought. Turns out today I log into to see wtf and Walmart money card says my dispute has been denied. You have got to be kidding me, this is theft and I should be refunded. I'm going to let the Attorney General know about this nonsense.

I bought the card for direct deposit for my job. At first I had minimum to no complaints. Until I had come across two charges I had to have refunded by Amazon. I love Amazon. They were cooperative and refunded my money in a timely manner. Walmart on the other hand never released the funds when they were supposed to and insisted that I had to wait for them to release them. I continued to call Amazon who kept telling me to contact the card issuer. I am getting rid of this card and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. The card charges you three dollars to reload it and has a 20 minimum, it's ridiculous!

I had a payment returned that was scheduled for the same day I was scheduled to receive a direct deposit but there was nothing that indicated or shows the payment was returned. When I called I was told there was no payment returned and then a few days later was told it was returned but I would need to contact the merchant and ask them why it was returned. WHAT??? How would the merchant know what the problem was with my account and aren't credits processed before debits? This is the only account this has ever happened with. I go ahead and reschedule the payment and the next day see my account has been compromised and there is 2 unauthorized charges to my account and now there is not enough in the amount to cover the payment so the 2nd payment is returned for insufficient funds. Because of these 2 returned payments back to back, the merchant closed my account. Customer service was useless.
I was not able to talk to a supervisor, my Walmart Money Card account was closed so I had no access to the remaining funds and had to wait for a new card and for my funds to be reimbursed. I tried to send what was left in my account to my husband's account but that process doesn't work. I was told this would work and a customer service rep walked me through the process and also saw it didn't work. Told me a technical support person would contact me but that never happened. I explained all of this to the merchant so they could reconsider closing my account and they said they would need a letter from Walmart Money Card stating what happened.
I called and asked for the number to get this issue escalated and hopefully get the letter I needed sent to the merchant. I was given a number to escalate only to have the person say they were the number for a merchant to escalate a issue. They then gave me the same customer service number that I had spoken to numerous times with no results. I need someone to document what happened and send the letter to the merchant so they will consider re-opening my account. This issue started with Walmart Money Card so should be rectified by Walmart Money Card.

I have tried to apply online for a Walmart money card and every time I do, it says my information is not verified. I called customer service 9 or 10 times and every person said the same exact thing, that I have to type in the correct information. I have repeatedly typed in my correct information, but it still says it cannot verify. I'm pretty sure I know my own information and the customer service doesn't help one bit.

My prepaid debit card was stolen October 20. I was then told another card was sent... I never received it. I then called customer service November 2. They said they expedited a card via FedEx three day mail... 10 later via USPS first mail I got a card I can't use. They will not access my account. I have no way to get my money for at least another week and they will not assist me with anything. I have been lied to multiple times about their shipping practice and they just state there's nothing that can be done. I am a single mother with now no gas. No money and no food because there is 1,400 on a card I can't use. Is Walmart money card going to pay my late fees due to their negligence. Doubt it. I was lied to over and over again and charged for multiple cards which I have yet to receive. Almost a month without money. My family is suffering. I have two jobs and no access to my money and all I get is "You need to be patient. We can't help you."

3 phone calls later and now 2 case numbers later, my bill due on the 1st is still not paid. I requested the transfer on the 27 the month before. Where is my money? It shows it debited the Wal-Mart account. Has not posted to my account. Each call reveals another period of days to wait. Do not recommend fees involved appears you don't get anyone to really help.

On 10/21/16 my Walmart Moneycard ending balance $446.61. On 10/23/16 I purchased 2 items from my local Sam's Club ($74.80 and $45.00)--Ending balance $446.61-$74.80-$45.00=$326.81. And I went the Walmart in 2025 N. Marine Blvd. Jacksonville, NC 28546 STORE #1298. I just put money on my Walmart Moneycard. I paid load $200.00 and load fee $3.00 Total $203.00 to the lady at check out lane. She had having trouble with loaded money and she had swipe card 2 times and 2 receipt came out during process. I remember she said "why I gotta give you $200.00", because 1 receipt showed change due $200.00 and total purchase $203.00. She had swipe card again and handed me receipt. The receipt showed loaded $200.00.
When I got home, I checked my Walmart Moneycard account and I noticed I have 2 other transaction reload swipe (+) 200.00 and immediately reverse swipe (-) $203.00 load $200.00+load fee $3.00. I called customer service and went back to the Walmart. They called customer service let them know the cashier had swipe my card 2 times and I have 2 receipt of reload load $200.00 and a copy of VOID receipt $203.00 that Walmart gave it to me. I field transactions dispute on 10/23/16 and my card was canceled and they sent me a new card. Walmart Moneycard denied my dispute on 11/07/16. They said a letter has been sent to me but I have not received it. I have had Walmart Moneycard for so many years and I have never had problem with it. I want my money back but I cannot find a way to do it.

Someone got access to my Walmart moneycard on October 26th. I cancelled right away and was told I would have a card in my mailbox 7 business days later which was supposed to be on November 4th. I check that Friday, no luck. I then patiently wait until November 7th, no luck. Then November 8th, still nothing. I call and report my card as missing on that Tuesday the 8th, and was told they would expedite the card via FedEx and it would be here in 3 business days, for sure by Friday 11/11. Little did I or the representative realize that it is a holiday on the 11th (veterans day). So I call back and they are now giving me a time frame of next Monday or Tuesday (the 14th and 15th).
This is absolutely ridiculous that I cannot get a hold of my own money without a physical card. My money has been held hostage and inaccessible since October 26th. I have not been able to pay rent this month yet, will be facing numerous late fees on other bills, have barely been able to buy groceries/gas to get to work with the little savings I had. This absolutely not right and should be punishable. For all I know, I may never receive my card at this point, as they won't even give me a tracking number from FedEx. I also don't get why it takes 3 whole business days for "FedEx" expedite when FedEx can deliver overnight. I even offered to pay to have it over-nighted, but that apparently isn't an option in green dot world.
Absolutely ridiculous company, absolutely ridiculous customer service. Will never use again, regardless of if I actually receive a card or not. I will share my story everywhere and will let people know not to deal with this company/card ever. I will also be praying my card comes relatively soon and isn't "lost again". Worst nightmare I've ever been through.

I recently went on vacation and the hotel apparently did a pre authorization. The funds were gone off of my card two days after checking in. I was completely shocked and very upset so I called Walmart card customer services and was assured that the money would be on my card on or before Nov 8, 2016. I actually called daily to ensure that it hadn't changed. I mean it was my money and I was in vacation and planned on using it. Well today is the 8th and no money on my card so I call and I was told on the 10th it would be given back to me. This all started on October 28, 2016. I have used this card for over 8 years, but once this is settled I will no longer be using the Walmart prepaid card. I was lied to and I still do not have my own money that I worked hard for.

On the 5th I seen a charged of 200 which I immediately filled a unauthorized charge with Walmart debit card, also with PayPal the merchant that received the funds. I also filled out a dispute form with both and was told 7 to 14. Been waiting and waiting. Every time I call it's something else. I have done everything, even have PayPal supervisor call Walmart debit card and advise the charge back is fine and also PayPal told the manager they tried to send funds back 2 times already but their system won't receive the funds. I'm sitting here. My money is in the air. It took me 5 mins to have PayPal call them and tell them the charge back is OK. They still extended my dispute 45 days and tell me to wait for a answer. I've had the WORST experience with this stupid Walmart money card... My initial card came to my address with no issues... I then called to just inquire about a transaction and the rep cancelled my card without letting me know!! It's now 2 freaking cards later with no access to my damn money. I only signed up because I wanted to get my direct deposit earlier. I should've stayed with my card I had with another company. Now I call and the rep (who I can hardly understand) tells me now I will have to wait 3 MORE DAMN business days WHICH NOW MAY BE 5 ** DAYS??? I'm beyond pissed and very irritated. I have to pay my damn bills (WHICH ARE PAST DUE NOW) and have no access to MY money???... This is ridiculous. I've called 4 times in one week to speak with a Rep and still the same BS... They don't know why I haven't received my card...
Well if my card doesn't come this week I will definitely take legal action. I hate I even went through this service. I have had my Walmart card almost 10 years and for the first time I can say they suck so bad. On the 17th of october I had a transaction that I did not approve. So I called and the rep, told me I will get another one out. I received an email on the 24th saying if I did not receive the card in 48 hours give them a call. I called and they cancelled that card. I called back a few days later and was told I would receive it by FEDex, today is 11/07/16 and I have nothing. My paycheck goes direct deposit and showing I have 2,285.00 on my card. Rent, car, and others bills do. Guess I need a lawyer to get in they behinds. Will never use them again, after I get my payroll check off of this mess.

I will not ever use them again for direct deposit. I had two unauthorized transactions on my account which I called and told them... They did not care. The reps show no empathy and when I requested to speak to a supervisor I was told they were on another call and they could not speak to me basically saying they did not value me as a customer. I was told they could not cancel those unauthorized transactions and that I would have to wait 10 days for them to go thru then file a complaint and would have to wait another 10 days to possibly get my money back... This is so unfair.
I work hard for my money and being a single mother who's money has been completely taken out my account unauthorized has really put me in a bind. And any bank that I know of who you go to and you notify them of unauthorized transactions they refund your money that you work hard for within 24 to 72 hrs... I don't trust Walmart and mainly after speaking with numerous reps who treat you with no respect or empathy I really have no belief that I will see my hard earned money again. I was told those 2 charges were pending and my money was on hold for those transactions so why could be they not try to cancel and dispute them right away makes no sense... Never Again will I ever out my earned money in Walmart's hands. Should of known better. They treat their employees like garbage so why should they treat a single mother on limited income any different...

Called customer service to file a dispute on a charge I didn't recognize on Monday Oct 31. I was advised that a dispute had been filed and information as to what I need to send in. Also, the lady told me "no worries, we're deactivating the card and issuing you a new one." So today I check my account via app and there's a negative balance. How? You are only allowed to spend what's loaded or direct deposited. I called and spoke with Jocel Rep ID number **. I explained to what happened and my card supposed to been canceled over and over. I requested to speak with a supervisor twelve times before she placed me on a extended hold. When she finally returned she then advised me she was transferring me.
A lady get on the phone sounding just like the first lady I was speaking with, but when asked she said her name is Arlene Rep ID number **. She explained how necessary it was to continue to repeatedly ask to speak with a supervisor then went on to say that the charge was valid. How? I was told the card was deactivated so why would I keep it. I even explained that there shouldn't even be a charge for Nov 4 if the rep would of done her job on the 31st of Oct when I called and told them my card had been compromised.
Seriously looking through some of these complaints, I think I need to start a Class Action Lawsuit against this foreign company. Walmart even advised me that this company pat then for the logo and they are not affiliated with them. Check back here in a few days. If this company ever misappropriated your money in any kind of way, you are entitled to be compensated. Pay close attention, you will never speak to an American when you call customer service. Rest assure a petition coming soon. Need as many signatures as possible to put a stop to this company.

I'm new to the prepaid card situation. I figured I may as well purchase a card so I don't have to worry about spending more money than I have. Well, I should have known something was fishy when I never received my card. My complaints start there, I've never received a personalized card, but when I go onto the website and click "card never received", I'm told that it was delivered and never returned to them and I need to report my card lost or stolen and a replacement card is $3?! You're telling me that you want me to pay 3 bucks for something I've never received?! That's laughable. Second thing, I take my Walmart money card to a Walmart gas station and I find out that I've been charged $100 that I didn't authorize.
So I call the number on the back of the card, and a man with an accent that sounded as if he was from India tells me that the $100 bucks was a pre-authorized charge (Um what?!) and it should have been reversed, and I have to wait until the 10th until I can even dispute the charge! So I purchase gas, with a Walmart card, at a Walmart gas station, and they charge me $100 plus the amount I paid for gas, and they expect me to wait?! I ask the guy if I can speak to the supervisor, he tells me he is the supervisor, I ask him to transfer to whoever is above him, and he tells me that he's the highest person I can reach (as if I'm an idiot). I will be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau and leaving negative reviews on every site I can think of making sure people avoid this scam.

On August 9th, I was told by a Customer Service Representative that fraud had been detected on my account and a new card was issued out to me. There was a fraudulent transaction done at a Walmart in Arlington, Texas. I asked how long it would take for the new card to be sent to me, and I was told 7 business days. The 9th was a Sunday, seven business days (if you are counting the Saturday) would have been the 17th of October, and if you are not counting Saturday, then it would have arrived on the 18th of October. I received an email stating "Your new card is in the mail. Be on the lookout. It should be to you in two business days. If it is not, call and we will issue you a new one". Okay no problem, yet.
The 17th and 18th come and I still do not have a card. I called customer service again, and was told that it would take 7 to 10 business days which I was not told about the "10" part of the time frame. The weekend (October 22nd-October 23rd) came and still nothing. I emailed online support Saturday and stated that I needed assistance. The regular customer service number was given to me (877-937-4098). I called on the 24th and received the same memo "Sorry for the inconvenience... We can issue you a new card...". I spoke to Ivan (CSR) who told me "Rest assure, you will receive your second card in 3 business days". This means that my card should have been to me by Thursday, October 27th. I waited and did not receive any card in the mail. I did not receive my initial replacement card nor the second card that was expedited via FedEx.
Speaking of FedEx, no one was able to find a tracking number and FedEx had absolutely no recognition of anything being sent with my name on it. I have spoken to 8 people regarding my missing cards, or cards that were never sent in the first place. I have been asked to provide the same mailing address and nothing has changed. I know nothing has changed, because I received a letter with four sentences on it regarding the dispute for my card on the 18th of October. I called Green Dot being that they are the issuers of the cards, no luck. I called a different customer service outside of Walmart MoneyCard and was forwarded to a representative who gave me the same 877 number, no help.
Here it is today, October 29th, 20 days of not having a card, and I have been more than cooperative until today. I spoke to five people today who have all repeated the same thing. Finally, I ask to speak to a manager who was higher than the regular CSRs that I have been speaking to. This representative rushed me as if it was an inconvenience for him, and I had to explain to him that the only person who has the right to be inconvenienced was me. I have X amount of dollars on a card that no one can seem to find. I asked how are the cards sent out, and was told from Columbus, GA. I asked if he knew the department that sent them out, he said no. I said "Does it show you when the cards have been shipped out", and was told "Yes. Our records show you had a card expedited on the 24th and was delivered on the 27th".
That was a complete lie, because FedEx can only deliver packages for apartment complexes to the Leasing Office. My leasing office had nothing sent FedEx. I called FedEx and was told there was nothing with my name or address on it. I asked "How can you track when the cards are sent out and delivered, but not have a tracking number?" and was told "FedEx and Walmart MoneyCard does not have a relationship to disclose the tracking numbers, because the cards are sent out in bulks". I went and had yet another card expedited that should be to me by the 3rd, but that hurts in the long run, because I have bills that I need to have paid for.
I left my number to have a Corporate Manager give me a call back. I have been more than patient with this process, but I cannot wait another two weeks for a third card that should not take this long. Once I receive my card, if it comes, I will definitely be closing this account. This card was helpful, but not worth me keeping and very bad for business. The customer service representatives were short and made it seem as if you calling was an issue for them. I received a letter from Pasadena, CA faster than a card that was sent "FedEx" supposedly from Columbus, GA. How is that possible? How is it also possible that this bank does not have an agreement with FedEx to provide tracking numbers? If something as important as a debit card has not been sent and no one knows where it is, that is a huge issue.
After reading these reviews, a couple people have been having issues with this company as it relates to these MoneyCards for years and no one has anything to say until a lawyer is involved. Needless to say, my lawyer is already involved and a lawsuit will be filed against Walmart MoneyCard and Green Dot Bank. I will never recommend this card to anyone for any reason. The customer service is not helpful, and extremely difficult to get on the line with a live person without having your actual card number, the mailing process of cards is a terrible strain, and the entire process is overwhelming.

I received money. They put a hold on it and couldn't tell me why. I finally got that taken care of. After that fiasco they sent one of the deposits back for exceeding my limit. I let that go and went to pay bills and then they inform me I reached my spending limit and there was nothing they could do. When I asked how long to be able to use the card they told me 24 hours after my last transaction. Not the next morning. As it was a Friday when all of this happened I was very angry. I will not continue using this service after this. I have had this card for close to two years or more.

I have been lied to numerous times by the "customer service" if you even want to call them that. I had to dispute a transaction so they cancelled my card and issued a new one and I was promised it would take no more than 7 business days. Well over 2 weeks later I still have nothing so I called them and they said "oh we lost that card so we're charging you for a new one." That's great right. I also paid $15 to ship this card within 3 days since I have had nooo access to any of my money for over 2 weeks. So I call and they promise my card will be there Thursday. Well never shows up so I call back and they tell me someone messed up the shipping and I won't see my card for again another 7 business days. Well today my card that was "lost" magically shows up at my doorstep but they won't let me activate it because they issued another card.
At the end of all this I have had no help, I have been lied to numerous times and will have waited for a month to receive a card. I haven't been able to pay bills or do anything cause I can't get my money out. Once my card finally does show up I will immediately be taking my money out of the account and cancelling it. I can not believe this is actually a bank or that they are in business. DO NOT use this card. It will only cause you problems!! Also nobody better call me because of this review. I am DONE talking to the "customer service". They do NOT help you and will continue to lie over and over and I won't talk to anyone anymore.

The 'specialists' I spoke with all said my address was correct and no one knew why my card was never received. I still haven't received my replacement card and am now being evicted due to not being able to access MY OWN MONEY. This is unacceptable. I plan to file a claim with a lawyer. There is no reason I shouldn't be able to have my money sent to a Walmart near me if this is a Walmart MoneyCard!!! Highly dissatisfied and disgusted.

I attempted to file a dispute because an automatic (unmanned/no employees) car wash didn't work but still charged me $10. They asked that I write a letter with a ton of info that I didn't have in order to process the dispute. So I decided against going through all of that trouble for just $10. Then, tonight, (THREE WEEKS AFTER THE CAR WASH) I try to purchase gas and my card is declined. Found out that they closed my card WITHOUT WARNING because of the "unauthorized transaction" at PitStop Car Wash!! THREE WEEKS LATER!!
All they would keep telling me over the phone was how sorry they were but that there was absolutely NO way to reverse it! I now have to wait 7-10 business days for my new damn card before I can access ANY of MY OWN money!! I have rent and insurance being auto paid from that closed account number TOMORROW!! How do you explain that you do have every penny that you owe but you can't touch it for a week!! Now I'm facing eviction and insurance lapse because of this HORRIBLE business practice!

I called the cs at Walmart MoneyCard and just to mention a transaction I didn't know about and mind you I just called to ask a question... and the idiot asked "Would you like to dispute this." I said "No. Just leave everything the way it is and I'll call them tomorrow because it had a phone number with it." But the idiot decided to take his own actions and pursue what he wanted to do... I told him just leave it alone several times. Did he listen. Of course not... Now I can't even get money out of my account or transfer or send money because I have to wait on their stupid card. My husband is a truck driver so we use the money transfer option almost weekly which had worked fine until my husband sent me a transfer that I couldn't load. When I called to find out why I was given multiple possibilities and tried every suggestion but nothing worked. This transfer was especially important because I was stranded and needed it to get home. After 6hrs I was upset and asked to speak with supervisor. Only to be refused with the agent completely ignoring my request after continually asking for 10min til I was so upset I hung up.
I then proceeded to call back numerous times always asking for a supervisor. Only to get the same response that they were on the phone or would call me back. After 2hrs of trying to speak to a supervisor I gave up with my issue still not resolved. I will never ever refer anyone to use this card or shop at Walmart. My husband and I have had our cards for a year now and his checks are DD on the card. But we are closing the card and going to use any other prepaid that is not affiliated with Walmart.

I've been a customer with this company for a couple of years now and today is the last straw. I'm usually not a complainer but I want this to be a warning for people thinking of using this service... please don't! I lost/stolen my card and order a replacement card via automated service on 10/06/2016. They not only say it would be "mailed" to me within 7 business days but charged me $3 for the new card that night. As of today, I have not received my card and was told I would be charged again for another card to be sent out. Not only would I be charged but charged more than $3 because it being sent by FedEx. Told me I was being charged because they know the first one was sent to me but could not provide me with any type of tracking information.
Now that they are sending it FedEx, they still won't provide me with a tracking number. I asked "how am I suppose to know you're sending it FedEx and not in the mail." I'm married with 7 kids and this is the level of service you provide. I had to cancel several events and functions due to the lack of information and carelessness of my situation. I'm going to reach out to ever possible legal person I can think of until I receive my card. This not only bothers me for my family but also for other families who are or have experienced this type of situation. Walmart is a VERY large company and should not treat anyone this way. Period!

My Walmart moneycard expired on Sept 30, 2016. I waited until the end of the day to see if my card would arrive in the mail, it never arrived. I called to let them know I had not received a card and the representative informed me there was not one sent. I was asked to confirm my address (has been the same since 2002). I asked why and was told that I may not have qualified. I asked them if that was the case and they said that I did qualify? The representative said they were sorry nothing was sent and that the one that I ordered would arrive in 7 business days. I should have received the card by 10/11/2016. I waited until the end of the business day and still no card. I asked if there was any way to transfer my money on to a new card at Walmart and was told no. I could get money orders or checks, and couldn't close my account either cause would take too long to get?
I called them 10/12/2016 twice. I was hung up on the first call and I called back and was told the only thing I could that they could do is send me a new card and that I can pay 14.99 to have it expedited. That was unbelievable. I let them know that was unacceptable and that I wouldn't be calling if they had sent my card in the first place. Representative sent it out and waived the expedited shipping. I called them again because I should have received the card on 10/17/2016. I asked for a tracking number and no one was able to provide it. I did not receive the card. On 10/19/2016 I got the card that was sent on Sept 30 and was unable to activate it because of the expedited card they sent me. I called them later that day because the expedited card still had not arrived. All I was told was that they could reorder and waive the shipping. I declined.
Today October 24, 2016 I called again and was told that they could reorder and expedite it and waive the fee. At this point I was really upset. My paycheck is deposited on to the Walmart moneycard and I haven't had access since Sept 30, 2016. I have accumulated late fees because I don't have access to my money. And of course I will have to pay for those as well. I asked for a supervisor and was told there was not one available but they could call me back as soon as one was available. This was ridiculous.
After 4 years without any issues this happens. The only good thing about this was that I did get a call back from a manager who offered to send my request to their corporate office to see if I could get one overnighted. I didn't get their name but THANK YOU while I was on the phone I called my sister and had her check if card was there and luckily my card was delivered today... Finally received my card waiting since 09/30/2016... I had a relative check my house every other day for a card delivery... I am beyond disappointed. Hope the company reads this and does a better job of taking care of their customers. At least make it so we can access our funds.

I received a MoneyCard in the mail. Set up direct deposit through my job. Paid is we'd. I tried to activate/register card online. Said it couldn't verify my information. Call number on back of card automated system. Transferred me to a person. Still couldn't activate/register my card. All I wanted was to activate / register my card before my money hit. 24hrs later still do it. Sent email and spoke with 3 people. You send a card that can't be activated.

I requested a replacement card over two weeks ago which is the primary card I use receive my paychecks through direct deposit. I was assured that it would be here by the 21st which would have been no problem if THAT was in fact the case. I have now called Walmart MoneyCard a total of 9 times give or take. Two of those times I asked to be escalated to a supervisor which my request was ignored both times. All agents assuring me "Please Miss **" can you give it until the 22nd which I agreed upon reluctantly!!! As I had NO other CHOICE because apparently there is NO other way to access your funds that you've earned ANY OTHER WAY!!! (Sounds Fishy) Until you get that new card which as you can see presents a very big problem being since my paychecks are direct deposited on there I finally today was transferred to a supposed manager and placed on hold for over 20 minutes with essentially a disconnect on their part.
BUT before I was transferred to this "nonexistent" manager I asked, The agent Gretchen where my card was being mailed from she had no answer, then I proceeded to ask "Well how do you know that it was sent out on the 12th if you have no idea where it's being mailed from?" She replied, "Well Miss ** we have no way of tracking this information." WOW that seems even more suspect to me as at this point. I am clearly getting very worried that I'm never going to see the funds ever again as I've read from multiple consumers with the same problem. NOW the only reason I chose to go to Walmart MoneyCard was because you supposedly receive your direct deposit up to two days earlier; now I'm seeing from all of the reviews from your consumers that this is clearly a scam. They tie up your money if your card was lost/stolen. Therefore, making your card the only way possible to access any of your funds.
At a normal bank you could go in and say "I lost my card. I need a replacement card." You may even be able to get one right then and there until they send you your personalized one. So it seems very odd to me that I can't go into a Walmart and do the same. At the time I choose to use this "preferred" checking account method. If you are even so inclined to call it that I was in a transition of going through a divorce and I needed my funds up to two days earlier... so I switched from my Wells Fargo checking to Walmart MoneyCard still keeping my Wells Fargo savings. NOW, I have been lied to, I have not been contacted by any fictitious manager, I have no idea where my card is at because apparently Walmart MoneyCard can't even figure out where the card was shipped from which leads me to believe that this is outsourced overseas.
I DO NOT believe Green Dot is a federally insured corporation because there's no way to even get ahold of Green Dot to reimburse you the funds that are yours!!! I've even read of cases where people are afraid to close their Walmart MoneyCard account because they NEVER received the checks WALMART supposedly sent from funds that were left in their account so I would like to point out that there is some definite fraudulent activity going on with this institution/institutions because I clearly am not the first person to be subjected to this type of treatment and at this point legality wise it's STEALING. Walmart MoneyCard and GREEN DOT offer no other way for you to access YOUR FUNDS.
I am now forced to worry about whether the water company will work with me so my water doesn't get turned off on my five-year-old daughter and I, if the power company will work with me and not charge me a late fee, if my cell phone company will work with me in a payment arrangement, if I'm going to be able to buy food within the next couple days for myself and my daughter, how I'm going to get money for gas to take my daughter to school and myself to work.
SO, I would really like to know why a manager didn't contact me and kept me on hold and why Walmart MoneyCard customer service representatives have no idea where my card is even coming from keep!!! Keep in mind they will ask you to verify your address every time you're on the phone with them when they know damn well that you've already verified it five or six times before. AT THIS POINT IN TIME I want to let everyone know to be very wary of these corporations Green Dot and Walmart MoneyCard.

Comcast charged my card a second charge of $177.45 on the 15/10/2016. I got on Comcast cable website on 14/10/2016 and paid my past due balance by pressing the past due Bulletin button on Comcast account site. I entered my Walmart MoneyCard 16 digit account number, hit submit and received a transaction and payment verification number! The next day on 15/10/2016 I went to check my balance and a second charge for $177.45 was removed! I called Walmart MoneyCard customer service and they proceeded to tell me they were putting in a dispute, that there was nothing they could do but the dispute and since the amount was still pending, that Comcast didn't have the money yet and it wouldn't take long for it to be released back to my card! That was a lie!
I was given no dispute case number. Nothing. I didn't know that is was done wrong by my card company because I never disputed anything before! I check the balance the next day and the 2nd pending charge of $177.45 had hard posted already! I called back Walmart MoneyCard and they finally file a dispute and gave me the case number and said it could take 10 business days. It's now the 22nd and heard nothing yet! I'm disabled and on a fixed income and that was money I needed to live on until my next month's check comes in!

The second time I was told of them putting the dispute through I was told about a form or letter I would need to mail in or email to the dispute department, which I did within the first 20 minutes of having the case number! I never gave Comcast cable the permission to remove a second charge of $177.44... I needed my money back!

I purchased 2 items from my local Walmart on 10/14/16 using my Walmart MoneyCard. One was faulty and didn't work, so I returned it this morning. The lady at the customer service desk was having trouble with the refund and I had to swipe my card 3 or 4 times. Numerous receipts came out during the process. When I got home, I logged into walmartmoneycard.com to find that she had credited me the refund, but then had immediately recharged me for the item during all the swipes. I called the store first, who told me that they had done nothing wrong and that only Walmart MoneyCard customer service could help me.
I called Walmart MoneyCard customer service and spoke to a lady who was very nice, but also informed me that she couldn't help me remove the wrongful charge - only the Walmart store could. So I went back to the store and they checked their records, saying that they could find no trace of the charge. However, Walmart MoneyCard customer service confirmed that it WAS a valid charge and it also shows up in my online transactions list. $234.33 is no small amount of money to lose like this! Really disappointed with the "there's nothing we can do" attitude I received from both the store customer service and the MoneyCard customer service. I've only had this card for 2 months and a huge problem already! :(

I wanted a prepaid card for use when making online purchases. I requested one from Walmart after an anonymous recommendation. I received the card a few days later and was excited to set it up for use. I went online to do so, visiting the URL printed on the sticker on the card. Everything was going great until I was prompted to answer security questions. I was able to answer the first two fine, but the third asked me to select, from a list of street names, the one which is closest to my house. I wasn't able to do this. I live in a rural area and am not familiar with the names of streets around my home address. To make matters worse, I was given a three-minute time limit to answer the question, so I could not use Google to determine the correct answer for this ridiculous question.
After failing to answer it correctly, I was told that my card could not be confirmed because my information could not be verified. I then called the number on the sticker which I referred to early. I followed the prompts until I was asked to enter a 6 digit code for my birth date. I entered this code correctly, but was subsequently informed that the information I entered was incorrect. I tried again, only for the machine to tell me to call back later when I had the correct information! I then called customer support. I was connected to a specialist, who, after collecting my information, informed me that my card had already been activated and that she could not help me. She suggested that I attempt to use the card and see if it worked. This would be impossible however, as I had not yet had the chance to load money onto the card! I hung up and came to write this review.

I recently started working at Walmart so I decided to try the Walmart MoneyCard. I had the card for about a week and then my paycheck deposited no problem. I spent a small amount and then my account was frozen for suspicious activity. I uploaded my driver's license and then proceeded to wait. I uploaded it on Wednesday October 19th. On the morning of the 21st (Friday) I contacted the Twitter team for Green Dot. They told me I would have an answer by the end of the day. I then called their support at the end of the day when my account was still blocked. I was told I would have a manager call me back and my card work at the end of the day pacific standard time.
When I woke up I had no calls from anybody and was forced to call again. I waited on hold for over an hour waiting for a manager after explaining what happened for the third time to the next call center associate. I have a family and I am the sole income provider. My phone is now shut off and I can't pay any of my bills. This is ridiculous. As soon as my money is free I am done with this company and I will be posting on every website and contacting tv stations, newspapers, bloggers, anyone until my story gets out. Support lied to me over and over from multiple channels and my money is still locked up. This is insane.

I have had a Walmart MoneyCard for about 5 or 6 years. Have had good luck with this card except the last 6 months or so. The biggest problem I've had recently is transferring money from my SSI debit card to the Walmart credit card. I have been doing this particular operation for many years and never had a problem. Lately when I try to transfer money to my Walmart credit card, the transfer is denied. The only thing Walmart gives you is a number that has never been used by anybody in tech-support. I have called Walmart many times over the last couple of months and almost each time they tell me some limit has been breached, but they can't tell me what it is. They say they do not have access to that information. How can you do tech-support without it? I have looked at your agreement and I can't find any published limit that has ever been breached.
Occasionally, they will send me to the Vesta group. They have never been able to resolve any problem I've had. They say it will take anywhere from one day to 7 days before this problem clears up. They have yet to resolve any problems and are really hurting Walmart. They are about as bad at Tech services as anybody I have encountered on the Internet. I really don't want to stop using the Walmart card, but if these problems aren't cleared up pretty soon, I will be forced to. Walmart did not get to be the largest retailer in the world by doing shoddy business. But this group from Vesta is about as bad as I've ever seen. Your reputation is being hurt by the shoddy tech-support. Thanks for your help.

I have been using my Walmart money card for direct deposit for over 2 years and all of sudden my direct deposit doesn't go through and now I have to get all this different information just for them to research and decide if it's my money. I am highly frustrated and disappointed. I was very pleased with the card until recently when I noticed that they holding gas amount charges and not crediting them back. My most recent experience is I purchased 20.00 in gas at a Walmart gas station and then a 100.00 pending transaction was placed on my card. I am aware this does happens but the hold should be no more than 48 hours. I have called 3 times and each rep tells me they are waiting on the merchant. Correct me if I am wrong but the transaction says Walmart purchase so they are the merchant.
Covering my bases I contacted the Walmart gas station and Murphy USA to see if there was any holds on my card still being that its been a week now. Both responded no. This company is stealing at this point and I will not take this like so my next step is proceed with corporate, social media, and legal counsels to expose these thieves. We work hard for our money and its not right that they are stealing it on bogus transactions.

I have had Walmart's money network paycard since I was an employee in 2012-2013. I woke up this morning to find an unauthorized transaction for $100 out of my account bringing my account negative... I called the Merchant who said to call my "bank" because they do not see the transaction. I called my "bank" and the representative said, "We can dispute it and shut off your card for 7-10 business days while we send you a new one." No. Who authorized this transaction if not ME, the account holder?! Why can't someone tell me what happened and why this amount was just magically debited from my account? This is the last straw in a heap of issues I have dealt with regarding this terrible Financial Institution and will be cancelling my account as soon as I can find a bank.

The cell company called Walmart moneycard and told then they never received the payment. They refused to put the money on my card. They said I have to wait 10 days. Well it's now day 14 and still nothing. I been calling every day. I don't think they want to refund my money.

WALMART REMOVE THESE CARDS FROM YOUR STORE!!! I purchased a 100.00 "Walmart" MoneyCard, which was a Green Dot card in disguise, 2 months ago and have already lost 10.00 in fees because I cannot get access to the card. When signing up for the card I used autofill on my computer and the name on the card came through with my son's name. I was then asked to send a picture of my driver's license. The card was rejected because the names did not match. I had explained this but I had to explain it all over again. All the other information was mine; birthday; social security and driver's license. Now they will not release the card to me until I send them a passport or driver's license for my 10 year old!
He doesn't have a passport so the woman on the line said to send in his state ID! Michigan doesn't issue a picture state ID but she couldn't understand why??? Do other states issue picture state IDs for a 10 year old? I keep getting told, "I will check with my manager" and when they do we start all over again. I am just plain giving up! This is such a scam which is obvious by all the reviews found here. Why isn't Walmart removing these cards? WALMART REMOVE THESE CARDS FROM YOUR STORE!!!

With all these bad reviews I have read I suggest not getting one of these cards and I have two cards and never got all my money off of them. Walmart sucks so bad I didn't even try to get my money and don't even shop there unless I just have to. I look up at the top and it says "Rate your experience. Required." You should not even have to rate this if you don't have to. THE BOTTOM LINE IS DON'T SHOP AT WALMART. THEY SUCK BADLY. They don't care about no one but their pocket book.

On 10/14 went to Walmart in Copperas Cove, Tx. I just put money on the Wal-Mart moneycard two days earlier. Tried to use it and wouldn't work. Tried for several hours to get someone in customer service to answer. Could not get a live person. Finally the store manager called and got a person. I explained to customer service rep what happened. He said I had I had to wait for my permanent card. What? I just put money on this temp card. A rip off. I could not use my own money.
I asked to speak to a manager the rep said he was on another call. WTH?!!! So I just said, "Refund my money." He stated I had to wait 2 weeks to get my money. What!!! Money I put on a card 2 days ago. Never again will I get another Walmart money card. First experience bad experience. This card is a rip off. Don't get it. It may be cheap but if you have problems can't reach anyone and can't get your money back in a timely manner. Their customer service area is sourced outside of the US.

I have had the Walmart MoneyCard for close to two years now. I liked how as soon as you made a purchase it debited your account. Now the card is acting like a traditional debit card and it puts items in pending but does not debit the account. I logged in the other day and I knew I was not going to have a balance, but instead I was -$14. How can that be. Also, I direct deposit my paycheck each month and I am still getting charged the $3 service fee. I don't want to switch to another card company, but it seems like the Green Dot Bank is turning the Walmart Card into a traditional Debit Card.

So I was invited to a birthday party in which the bill was 106 dollars. That amount was immediately paid to my account and add pending. That happens Sunday Oct. 9. Monday Oct. 10 was business as usual. But Tuesday Oct. 11 they decided to take 90.95 claiming that it was a transaction done on Sunday. Ummm no it wasn't. After I made the supervisor go back on his word because I walked him through the fact that I had to transfer 100 on OCTOBER 11, 2 DAYS AFTER, I addled him, "What was my balance yesterday?" and he said, "17 dollars." I asked him, "How did I go from 17 dollars to -84?" I'm so pissed. He said there was nothing he could do. This is theft and I'm getting a lawyer, and taking all these complaints with me. As you can see Grille One Sixteen is up there twice.

I called last Thursday because my card was lost. Asked to speak to a manager because I was told I had to wait until Monday for a new card to be generated. I was told I could not speak to a manager. Called back later and that guy told me he could generate my card on Friday and that it should not take seven days to get here. I explained my money is direct deposited and I have access to no money right now and I have kids. I called back today to see if there was any way to track the card so I can have an idea when it would be here and was told I could have had it FedExd to me but because I was given wrong info now I would have to wait until next Tuesday.
When I asked to speak to her manager she said she did not have the number but she could put something in so they can call me back in 24 hrs. I told her that was nonsense. How could they not have a corporate number? After arguing with her for several minutes she put me through to corporate where explained had they have put me through when the card was first generated he could have overrode it and FedExd me a card but now there is nothing they can do for me and I have to wait for the card in the mail. So they gave me wrong info and I have no way to get a new card except just to wait. Meanwhile I have no money for gas, for food, for my kids, and my bills will be late and he said, "Unfortunately that's all we can do." They are Walmart. I find it hard to believe they can't fix this but after reading some of these reviews I realize I'm not the only one. It's sad they get away with this.

Nice people, but don't understand English in its entirety. If ALL of your money is tied up on this card and you lose it, you are flat broke for 2 weeks unless you have a card expedited at 15 bucks, to which might just be more of a hassle than having it sent out within the standard two weeks.

I called and spoke with 2 reps, 1 supervisor, and 1 Corporate Supervisor. None of which could help me. I am beyond irritated and unsatisfied with their customer service. I had pumped gas and they withdrew two transactions. One for the amount I pumped and one for an additional $75. This was 3 days ago and it still has not been put back on my card. When I called and asked what the delay was they blamed it on the merchant. I then called the merchant and was told they have no pending charges associated with my card. So I called back and spoke with another rep who then told me that yes they are the ones with the hold on my account but it will not be released for 10 days! 10 days!? Are you kidding me? For my own money to be released back into my account?! This is outrageous. Unacceptable. And completely unfair.
The corporate supervisor was mumbling the whole time and said there was nothing he could do. And he basically told me because I did not walk into the store and pay, that I could have kept this from happening. Okay so I was supposed to just leave my children in the car?!? Nor could he direct me to someone who could! If they are the ones placing the hold then why would they not be able to release it!? I used to be very happy with my MONEYCARD and now I will not be utilizing it furthermore. They are uncompassionate, rude and completely unhelpful.

I purchased some clothes online with my MoneyCard and ended up not ever receiving them, so the clothing company refunded the purchase amount back onto my card. This is all plainly documented on the walmart money card site, but this was 2 months and at the very least 15 long phone conversations ago and I still don't have access to my money! I have spoke to numerous customer service reps and filed multiple cases and still NOTHING. 3 different "supervisors" have said that they see the error and will get it fixed, but they never have, and finally the last lady I spoke with was VERY rude and said there was no mistake on their part and I was just out my 100+ dollars. This has been a nightmare and BY FAR the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. I am a single parent with 3 children and I assure you I can't afford to write off $100.

On Aug 24th there was charge from Motel 6 for 69.75 I believe. I called booking.com with a complaint. They made a 3 way call to motel 6 asking my money was deducted from my acct when the booking for the room was canceled. I was told my money would be returned. A week later I called booking.com again and ask my money had not received. They 3 way called motel 6 and all of a sudden they said they never charged my card. My dad died that week and the last thing I needed was this motel giving me a problem. I also had to rent another more expensive room for the night.
After trying to get it back that way I finally made a request to have Walmart MoneyCard do an investigation. Thinking that they would get it back. All I got was attitude from people on the phone! And a week later I got a response saying that they declined giving my money back. I have never been so disappointed in having my card. I have used this card for years. Either way I got screwed by both places!

I got paid Friday the 9th of October, Direct Deposit to my Green Dot MoneyCard from Walmart. I took the money out for my rent and left the rest on the account. The next night I'm at work and I receive an email stating there is a block on my account for suspicious activity. I check my balance, and sure enough...$170 is missing from my account, leaving me with $60 and a blocked card. I live in Tennessee, all four of the false transactions happened in Houston, TX. ALL OF THEM AT A WALMART NONETHELESS. I open a dispute, and they inform me that this will take up to 10 business days (which will be 3 days before I get paid again) to get a response for my dispute number. On top of that, they said if the Walmart stores don't reply to the dispute in time...it could take up to an additional 35 DAYS to get the money back on my card!!!
So basically, because of their faulty systems allowing my money to be stolen...me and my kids are broke for the next 2 weeks and a few of my bills are going to be late. On top of that, it might be even longer than 10 business days...it might take 45 business days for me to see my hard earned money again. This is not acceptable. ONCE THIS IS CLOSED I WILL DISCONTINUE MY BUSINESS WITH WALMART MONEY CARDS AND I SUGGEST YOU ALL DO THE SAME!!! The customer service is horrible, as I was hung up on by one representative. I won't even shop at Walmart stores anymore after this. I suggest you all take heed and read some of these other reviews on these money cards before trusting your money with Walmart. 0 stars does this review no justice. I would give WALMART MoneyCard -10 Stars for terrible service.

They issued me out a new card and told me I had to dispute the items that was not mine which was 5 items totaling 800.00, which I did dispute the items like they told me, and still won't give me my money back. Now I'm seeking legal action with an attorney to take them to Court so I can get my money back... I tried all ways and they refused, so now I'm taking it to court.

But I called Fedex and they have no information whatsoever on the shipment to my address. I was suppose to receive the card on yesterday, but no luck again! I got this card around late March or early April. I never received the original personalized card, I just received an replacement this week. I had a problem with an transaction and made an claim. I thoroughly explained with representative the problem and he asked me to submit a form. I did it a few days later because I ordered an printout online to be shipped to my home. There was no communication or updates whatsoever throughout the process after form was submitted.
Today I called for an update and found out by the automated system that the claim was denied. I was very confused as to why and tried to get answers from a representative. I've spoken to 4 or 5 reps and none of them helped me. They all gave me these bogus procedures to press 4 then 3 when they transfer me noticing they took me to the main menu instead of a claim specialist. I searched all over the internet to see who I can get an hold of and didn't find any results.

My card was due to expire in September of 2016. I called about the middle of September to let them know I had not received a new card. The associate advised me to wait until the last day of the month for the card. I did so. No card arrived. I called that day and an associate agreed to send me a card out expedited at a charge of $15.00. I told her I was not paying $15.00. After becoming irate they agreed to waive the $15.00 fee. She said it would arrive in three business days.
Today is the third business day and no card. I called to see if they could provide me with tracking since they say it was sent FedEx. NOT ONE PERSON could provide me with a tracking number and told me to call FedEx. They say they couldn't provide tracking because of security purposes, but they would tell me my balance on the card! I called FedEx and they told me that they did not have a delivery pending for my address. I have not been able to buy groceries to feed my 18 month old baby and cannot pay any. My car note is due tomorrow. The next day there is a $30 late fee. They have horrible customer service and have no sympathy for you or your situation.

I have called numerous times to each and every rep telling me there is no issue on their end... which clearly never solves my problem. Now I am trying to get the routing an acct number (which I have because I get direct deposit) and it says my acct does not have this feature... really!!! Really!!! So fed up with MoneyCard. I have had this card for yrs. I am looking for another prepaid comparable.

I bought the card two days ago from WalMart. Put 100.00 on it. Used it once. Now they have put a hold on my money that it took them 2 seconds to get but they need a copy of my driver's license and review for at least two days when I need my money. Do not buy this card.

So I opened up this card about a week ago so that I could use it to order online and cash my checks with the photo check cashing option as it is more convenient for me. I get paid every week and tried depositing both checks just as the instructions suggest, identical steps followed easily and both were rejected. This makes absolutely no sense to me so I called to get more info and the automated machine was unhelpful. I'm just trying to cash my paycheck with photo check option since direct deposit is not offered at my job. Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

Just fyi to all Walmart money prepaid card users: when your card expires they will not automatically mail you a new one. My card expired 9/30 and when I called 10/4 to find out why I hadn't received a new one I was told they didn't know why it hadn't been mailed out. I was told my funds wouldn't be accessible until the new card was received (7-10 business days). I was also told by 2 supervisors that overnighting the card wasn't possible. So if you need your money, like so many of us with prepaid cards do, start contacting them far in advance of your expiration date. Their "customer service" will not be able to help you.

I went to Advanced Auto and bought a seat cover for $21.19 and it was the wrong cover so I went back in and they returned my money to the Walmart MoneyCard I used. I checked my balance online and sure enough Walmart charged me twice. It was - transaction # and all after calling customer service and complaining with incompetent people I then checked my account an hour later. They now have 2 of the transactions with 1 transaction # charge and return. They have a different transaction # for the other and now have separated them making them looking like they are different transactions. I notice that there is several complaints of this same kind. We have to stick together as a people and not tolerate these thieves who happen to be millionaires. I'm going to an attorney tomorrow as well as out front of Walmart Supercenter store to let people know not to buy or support these people.

On August 31st I called customer service to report my card lost/stolen and thought a dispute was opened at that time. A week later when I called back I was told no a dispute was not opened, a new card had only been ordered and the dispute was then opened. I continued to call almost daily during the 10 business day dispute period to be treated very poorly by the so-called customer service department. I was hung-up on, transferred back to the main menu and never received several callbacks from supervisors as I had requested. At one point I received a call from the supervisor at corporate [from a restricted number] who stated she would look into it and call me back--this call never came either. I find it extremely ironic that when I called today the initial recording says, "You have been a loyal customer for 4 years... Happy Anniversary".
Over these 4 years I have not had a problem and when I do I am treated extremely poorly--I have now been told the dispute has been denied because the merchants verified it was me; I am unsure how they would do that because even when I do use my card I've never been ID'd. ID-ing may be the policy, but it is not the practice.
Over a month later I am told to get a police report and have them subpoena the store's video and then they can reopen this dispute. In the meantime a few thousand dollars are tied up and we were unable to pay any bills including rent and are now in a hotel that I can't afford. Since my "loyalty" is so appreciated I can't even get a partial credit during this process. As we use payroll direct deposit on this account I am at a complete loss and do not where else to turn. Although, it is covered by MasterCard Zero Liability I guess that depends on their feelings about using it at the time. Across the 3 accounts we have we have deposited tens of thousands of dollars over the years that I am now looking for a new place to put that will actually offer customer service.

The sad part is they say there is a screen error and my balance shows $685.24 with Hertz rent a car returning my deposit of $407. Yet Walmart Money card says I have a zero balance and there is a screen Error. Everyday I run a check balance through text and shows my balance. Every day since 09/07/2016 my balance at walmartmoneycard.com shows $685.24. Conveniently there is an error. But in their favor. Go figure. I'm taking them to small claims court.

I reserved a hotel room on my card and paid for the room when I got there. I called Walmart MoneyCard after I had a pending payment for the hotel room for a week. They said it would be back on my card in two weeks but they never put it back. I have called them 4 times and they say did put it back but I have checked it 5 times and had others look at it too and they say the same thing. It was not put back in. They have even hung up the phone on me and had me on hold forever with no help.

I have been having a card for about two years now. It was just used as a back up at first but I now get my DD on it. I recently moved from the address that the card is tied to. After moving (at the beginning of this month) I realized my card was expiring at the end of the month. When I logged on to my account it said that the card had been sent out already. When I tried to report it not received, it said I had to wait two weeks. I waited the two weeks. I log on again and it says that since it was never returned it was sent to the right address and I would have to order another one. At this point it's late September. I checked with the people that live at my old address now and they said nothing came in. I stupidly had faith that Walmart sent it and waited. I check again... nothing.
I call the 800 number and try to get a live person to talk to cause at this point the card needs to be overnighted (which ALL banks do if you lose/someone steals/or you never receive your card). I finally get someone, tell her what happened and she sends me right back to the automated line. ALL of my money is on this card that I won't be able to use the next day. I call again. Explain the situation AGAIN and this women tells me it's gonna take 7 business days to get it. I ask her "Would I be able to use my current card in the meantime?" She says "No." "So... I won't have access to my money for 7 days?" "Oh, sorry we can't overnight it, nothing we can do about it." I ask her if she can see why this is a HUGE problem. "Yea, sorry, nothing we can do."
I then ask to speak to a manager. She then puts me on hold for 20 minutes to come back and say that I would get a call back within four hours. NEVER happened. I call back, talk to another "customer service" person, they tell me the same thing. He says "The only thing I can tell you to do is pull all of your money out until the card comes in." I told him "If I pull it out I'm not putting it back in." I told him "On top of that being bull I never got a callback from anyone." You mean to tell me a billion dollar company can't overnight a damn debit card. I even volunteered to pay for it!!! If a local bank can do it damn Walmart should be able to.
And then TWO days later a get a call from a "manager" that leaves a message that says and I quote "well since we can't get in touch with you now I suggest you call back right away". What? Are you serious? I was supposed to get a callback two days ago and now you leave that VM like I'm wasting your time!!! I'm done with Walmart. No sympathy for the fact that I would have NO money for 7 days and your only suggestion is to take all of it out, which you can't do at a damn ATM!!! I will never use this service again and will gladly take my business to a traditional bank.

I'm trying to get my account cleared since 2/21/16 and still can't get it resolved. On 2/21/16 I had a balance of 578.31 and on 3/10/16 they took a monthly fee of 3.00 and my new balance is 178.30. Can someone explain 578.31 - 3.00 is 178.30. I tried talking to customer service, the dispute department supervisors and they won't even take a dispute report because they said I don't have a merchant that I need to dispute. They don't speak English too well but they no have to be rude to me about my money that they stole. All they can say is the last transaction was on 2/21/16 and no charges after that until 3/10/16 for the 3.00 monthly service fee. I AM LOOKING INTO GETTING A ATTORNEY INVOLVED IN THIS BECAUSE THIS IS THEFT. I DON'T CARE IF THIS IS WALMART.

I signed up for the Walmart MoneyCard in August. I had my direct deposit going to it. I waited 2 weeks. Never received the card. Called customer service which by the way was very rude and unprofessional. She said she would send another one. Never received it. Went thru the same process a third time. Never received it so I closed the account. They said they would send a refund check within 2 weeks. Here it is 2 weeks still haven't received a check. Called back now. She's saying it's going to be another 2 weeks. It'll be October. Almost 3 months and I still haven't got my money. I have bills and kids to take care of. The representative told me I couldn't talk to a supervisor and there was nothing else she could do besides resend the check. Really considering on getting a lawyer now. This is ridiculous. Never again will I deal with this.

I lost the card that I had and I purchased another card. I was charged a fee when I purchased the card which I figured that I would. Then when I went to load cash on the card, they charged me ANOTHER FEE of $3.00. I asked why another fee. They told me to read my paperwork that I got with my card and it would say that I would be charged a fee. Well, guess what, there wasn't anything to indicate that I would be charged a $3.00 for loading cash. It said that a $3.00 fee would be charged for loading a check. It would be a check cashing fee. But nothing about a fee for loading cash. So, Walmart, why are you charging me a $3.00 fee for loading cash to this new card? I was NEVER charged a fee for loading cash to my old card. How about someone give me some answers because I am just about tired of "someone sticking it to us little people"?

I purchased a prepaid card on September 24, 2016. I registered the card online. I proceeded to use the card only to get a message that the card used was unacceptable. I then log in to my account to be told "send in a picture ID". I did just that. Tried using the card again to be told I couldn't use the card. I then called the number on the back of the card and was told I have to wait 2 business days for the review team to finish their review. Okay that means I have to wait until Tuesday September 27, 2016 to find out if I can then use the card. I mean... really Walmart MoneyCard. It was not disclosed on your packaging that I may have to wait to have access to funds I loaded on your card. Because if so I would have never purchased "your" card. The purpose of purchasing the card was to have access to funds to be able to use the card. It's sad that I needed to make an emergency transaction to only be denied access to "my" funds.
And every time I call customer service their non-English speaking reps quickly flip me back to the automated line without even attempting to verify anything or even resolve the issue. What if everyone stopped using "your" cards Walmart MoneyCard, GreenDot, or whomever else that's tied into this cycle of deception? I bet "you" would be wishing for customers then but currently "you" are not concerned or don't appear concerned with the customers that are having issues with "your" card. I am one unhappy and disappointed customer because I switched to "your" card in hopes of having a better outcome than the last card company I was using. Just sad!!!

I purchased a Wal-Mart Green Dot money card. I put $60 on it. I called the customer service number on back of card. Talked to a representative and asked them to put me on a spend down. Where instead of continuing use of card, it closes out once I use all the money. So I activated the original card in package. I tried to use it, but was told at a Wal-Mart supercenter customer service desk that I had to wait till I got my personalized card in the mail. 9-24-16 I received the personalized card. Called the number on card to activate it. It said the card number and the cvc number do not match. So I couldn't activate it. My money is still on it, but I can't use it.
Called the customer service number on back of card, no ability to talk to anyone except if you have a lost or stolen card. So I push that option just to talk to someone. They kept sending me back to the automated service. I called them back 4 times pushing option 2 for reporting lost/stolen card just to talk to a live person. Finally they connected me to expenditure dispute rep. I told them what problems I've had. She basically told me the personalized card wasn't any good and to use the original card out of package. Needless to say, it doesn't work.
So the $60 I put on there to buy my two sons uniform shirts is stuck in limbo. If I can't get their shirts, they can get in trouble at school. I cannot afford for my boys to lose their spot in this school because of this company's lack of concern for its customers needs. I intend to take this matter to the news stations as well as tell as many people I can through whatever source I can of its scrupulous business techniques.

I was required to cancel my card after my secondary card was lost. Then my new cards never arrived. Now I'm waiting for those cards. My checks are direct deposit. The CSR are no help whatsoever to help resolve any issues. What makes no sense, I can make payment to my accounts that had that card number but they said they canceled it and to destroy it. This is why you don't out service your customer service... You'll get bad reviews.

I have had my Walmart MoneyCard for years, a few bumps along the way but nothing major. I get my checks deposited every other week and no issue. I have been battling with the IRS for what seems like a life time for my 2015 return. I finally get a DDD for 9/28/2016 and just happened to be on Walmart MoneyCard website to see if it could be there early. I see in all caps that they are not receiving tax refund deposits after May 31st 2016. I called and the first person told me I was OK. So I thought until my phone rang two minutes later and it was someone else from there telling me I was misinformed and it would be rejected. According to all other sites I now have to wait 4-8 weeks to get a check in the mail. Why am I being punished because randomly this year I was pulled for an audit. I think when I get my checks I am closing this account and moving to a local bank.

Have had multiple issues with the running total never matching the available balance. However the latest issue is that for every transaction I do on the card, it gets subtracted double from the available balance while it is the "pending" status. Then when the transaction clears, the erroneously held money will reappear in "available balance". So for example if I originally had $100 in available balance, and then did a $20 purchase, my available balance will show as $60 instead of $80 until the transaction clears then the available balance mysteriously becomes $80 again. I've called numerous times and they cannot identify any problem. Mainly because by the time the IT department gets around to looking at it, the transaction has cleared so they don't see what I see. I have multiple screenshots though. I'm really sick of this. I think I will switch to another card. It's just not worth losing your money or having it tied up for days.

Customer beware. I got a Walmart MoneyCard, for some reason my identity did not pass, so they told me to send some very private documents. I have send the documents 3 times and they are using different excuses for not letting my use my card. There is something wrong here. I feel they just don't want me to spend the money I have on the card. I have send them the documentation 3 times already they say that they can't see well the papers and then they say they haven't receive anything. I do have proof of the documents being send and receive there. I won't recommend this card.
People on customer service just don't care. I am sending my social security number and id, and I am very afraid that this information end up somewhere else. Beware if that they will block your card any time they want. I am very disappointed. I would send the information for the 4 time, cause I won't let this company stay with my money. I am angry and disappointed. Would never buy again from Walmart anything.

Walmart MoneyCard customer service is horrible. I made a payment online with my electric company and the transaction went through twice. I immediately called Walmart MoneyCard and the representative I spoke to told me the money would be back in my account in 8 days. He did not tell me I had to do anything. The money was not in my account in 8 days so, I called them. The lady I spoke to that day told me I should have disputed the charge with the electric company and as of that day they could also dispute the charge. So, I hung up with her and immediately disputed the charge with my electric company and within 1 hour they advised me they refused to return the money because a new bill came out the day before and they applied it to my new bill. Now, if the original rep I spoke to at Walmart MoneyCard told me to dispute my payment the first day I called I would have been able to get my money back from the electric company.
I asked for a manager and of course, they were all busy. One called me back and left me a voicemail so, I called back and sat on hold for 20 minutes only to have a manager tell me they would dispute the charge. Clearly, I already know the electric company will dispute it. So, the bottom line is I will not be refunded the payment. People make mistakes. I get that but, when a company will not honor or correct the problems they have created due to an untrained or incompetent employee that reflects poorly on them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY OR CARD TO ANYONE AS THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS AND they actually put their customers in a bind. Go to a Walgreens and get a card there, instead.

It all started when someone hacked my card. When I go to use my card it's declined so I call the number on the back of the card and the lady says "Oh we blocked it for unusual activity.” So now I've sent the dispute form with no response back. AND what’s worse is I requested a new card Sept 9. It's the 23rd so I call again because I need my money and they say "Oh we are mailing another one so wait another 7 days” which means Oct 4 I might have a card. That's almost a month just to receive a card. And no one is helpful that you speak to. They make you feel as if it's your fault that your card has not arrived. If anyone is thinking about using this card run in the other direction or else be prepared for the most inconvenient time of your life with a headache that is constant because these people do not care about you one bit.

I have had an open case for fraud since 8/27/16 in which one vendor took almost $400.00 from my card. I sent in the necessary dispute form paperwork to Walmart along with an email from the vendor noting that it would refund me the money. I have not gotten any response from Walmart. I am constantly hung up on and placed into the automated system without getting assistance. This is the poorest service that I have ever had with any debit card. This is the 2nd time my card has been compromised. I want my money back and there is no reason why I should not have my money returned to me when a vendor has 8 separate transactions in one day. I would never recommend this card due to the poor level of customer service.

I've been trying to withdraw money off my debit card for two days through an ATM as well as cash back from Walmart Money Center. I cannot get any cash off my card and I have bills that are due. The only thing customer service can say is that they are sorry but has no explanation nor time frame that the issue will be resolved. Is anyone else having this problem, if so do you guys know approximately how long it'll take before this issue is resolved.

I went to relax over the weekend to come home and went to check my account and it wasn't coming up right with what I had. My ending balance wasn't the same as my current balance - it was 300.00 lower. Went to call customer service and was told that's not we see on our end. So I took Pictures of my screen then I called back later to be told "Yes I see it" and she was going to turn it into IT support and I will get a email within 24 hrs and nothing so once again I called them back talked to Shawn # ** and he didn't see what I was.
Again all he kept saying was two pending charges would be put back on at the end of Sept. and Oct. 1st so I said "What about my 300.00 dollars that is missing off my account?" He couldn't give me a answer. He was being real quiet and like 10 to 15 mins later he said "Now check your account" so I did and it had all changed everything changed from what I had on there everything was less amount than what I had on my phone. I want my 300.00 dollars back.

I have the Walmart Moneycard for my Avon business and when people pay me with a check I try to photo deposit and all of them are declined. It is very upsetting and inconvenient for me and my clients. Why is this happening? Why is it not accepting any of my checks to be deposited by taking the picture? I am doing everything it is asking for. I have already called the Green Dot bank and Certegy and nothing is helping. Really upset with this!

I used my Walmart card over the weekend at the ATM and never got any money. Walmart still deducted the $100 plus an ATM fee. I never received any money! I have called several times and have yet to receive any assistance.

After direct deposit I transferred money to vault. Later that evening I tried to transfer a small amount back out to pay a necessary bill. In doing so the app kept failing so I went to online. To my surprise it told me that "too many transfers had been made". Now only one transfer was successful and the website even says that "you can transfer as often as you like" but it said "try again tomorrow". So I did and it still tells me the same thing.
I called customer support and was given the run around about it so I asked for a supervisor. I was then told that there was nothing they could do so I authorized my fiancee to speak to them. My fiancee called and was given the run around about him being able to talk to them. I am currently at work and cannot speak to them again. He was finally able to get them to discuss my account and they gave him a completely different story as to what was going on. They do not care that we have bills to pay and that is our money and are now blaming it on a glitch in their system and don't know when it will be resolved. After more talking to them about the fact that legally that is our money and that since bills need to be paid and that they could be liable if anything derogatory happens from not being able to pay our bills with our money that their institution is holding now, all of a sudden they will have technical support contact us within the hour.
Walmart MoneyCard apparently has been screwing a lot of people based on the number of bad reviews on this site and it may be time to seek further options. I will update this review as soon as there is resolution or in 45 minutes if there is no contact from tech support. I really hope Green Dot bank is watching this as well since this affects them as well.

So I applied for a Wal-Mart card online I received my direct deposit form but not my personal card. It's been about 3 weeks my check will be deposited Friday. I won't have access to my money until the Mystery Debit card comes. I have bought a second card with the hopes of being able to transfer my money, but when I call and ask I get no help and twice I have been hung up on. This is horrible customer service. I used to work for Wal-Mart distribution and this is not the Wal-Mart Culture.

I recently purchased a Walmart money card and have used it several times. It's easy to reload and make purchases with. One thing I really like is Walmart money card doesn't charge a fee every time you make a purchase like some other debit cards do. I was very happy with the Walmart Money Card through Green Dot, everything was fine, however last week our card was locked because we couldn't figure out what birthday was put in. I'm not sure how the birthday was put in wrong to begin with, but I have no clue what birthday was used. This wouldn't be a problem if we could find a human to discuss this issue with, however after many, many tries we are still not getting anywhere. I'm not sure what to do now, but it is really bad that there is no human to speak with to help us.

I have a Walmart prepaid debit card, one that I have had for about 4 or 5 years now. I've recently run into a HUGE problem and can’t seem to get any resolution. I am stressed to the max about it and completely at a standstill and lost for words. My Walmart MoneyCard has recently expired in August of 2016. The company is supposed to automatically generate a new card for you weeks before your card becomes invalid to use. Well they did not do so with my card. Once the end of August rolled around and I still had no card I contacted the company myself requesting a new card. That was on August 25th, 2016.
After waiting about 7 business days (September 5th) I contacted Walmart again to notify them I had still not received my card and because of such inconvenience my rent for September had also not been paid and I had accrued a $100 late fee at that point. I asked if there was any way they could send me funds out of my account via Walmart to Walmart, Western Union, Money Gram, or perhaps transfer it onto a separate card I have that is also a Green Dot card. I was told there was no possible way they could do that. I then requested a supervisor, I was told there were no available supervisors to leave my call back number and one will get back to me ASAP.
After waiting a whole 24 hrs a supervisor in account services, named John (last name was refused to me) called me back which I was unable to answer because I was at work. He left a voicemail directing me to call Customer service back. Now that upset me because once I did, I was told the same exact thing as before, that there were no supervisor available and I would have to wait for a call back. It is now the evening of September 6th. I refused to hang up the phone without speaking to a supervisor right away. I was then placed on hold for literally 7 minutes. A supervisor by the name of Phoa (whom barely spoke English) got on the phone to expedite my problem.
I then filled him in on what’s going on and asked the same questions, if there was any way they could send me funds out of my account via Walmart to Walmart, Western Union, Money Gram, or perhaps transfer it onto a separate card I have that is also a green dot card. I was AGAIN told there was no possible way they could do that. I Explained that I had no funds, rent not paid, and other bills that are coming up that needs to be paid and Walmart isn’t leaving me with any options. He apologized and reiterated himself, telling me there was nothing they could do. At that point we verified my home address and he processed another card to be sent out. That was Tuesday, September 6th.
On Monday September 12th I had received a 3 day notice to pay rent or quit. I again called Walmart to notify them of the inconvenience they had caused on me and requested a supervisor again because something HAD to be done. This was not fair for me and I have over $2000 in my account. The supervisor offered to send the card expedited and waive the fee. I graciously agreed and told them that should have been offered to me weeks ago. I was told I should receive my card in 2-3 business days. When I asked them to provide me with a tracking number I was told there was no tracking number available at that point. I said ok.
Thursday, September 15th rolls around and I still had not received the card. I then contacted Walmart very unhappy and asked for a tracking number again. I was denied a tracking number by Walmart, reason given was for security purposes since it is a debit card. We verified my address again, verified the package was sent FedEx. I then contacted FedEx, advising them I need to track a package and unfortunately didn’t have a tracking number. I gave them my mailing address and full name. I was then told by a FedEx representative and supervisor that they had no record of ANY MAIL or packages going to that address or with that name. Of course I called Walmart back and spoke with Supervisor Cynthia (last name refused) and advised her of what I had just heard from FedEx.
I asked her if there was any way SHE could go ahead and track the package for me. I was told NO. I was also told there was NOTHING they could do as far as releasing any funds to me and I can’t log in and transfer funds without putting my debit card information in, which I DON’T have obviously. I was told if the card was not here by Friday the 16th of September to call back and they could expedite it to a different address.
I am at a dead end. I even went so far as to contact Green Dot Bank to see if there was anything they could do since my Walmart Card and my GoBank card both go through Green Dot Bank. I had absolutely no success contacting them. When you call their customer service number (the ONLY number listed to contact them) at (866) 795-7597 you only get an automated person and it asks you to either put your GreenDot card number, which I assumed was either my Walmart card or GoBank card. After attempting my GoBank card # since it’s the only card I physically have access to, I was unsuccessful at pulling up an account with that card number.
I then put in my social security number and was also unsuccessful pulling up an account for me; therefore, leaving the automated guy to tell me to call back and the phone call was ended. This was attempted THREE different times. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow you to speak with a live representative if the automated systems CANT pull up an account SMH. I've emailed "Call Curtis" from KCRA news, writing a complaint with the Better Business bureau, and I am definitely seeking legal advice. Anyone with a similar situation PLEASE reach out to me. I would love to join forces and get a class action lawsuit going. This has caused me many late fees and grief.

I have my checks from work direct deposited on this Walmart MoneyCard. I get paid every week. I have not gotten paid in 3 weeks because they issued me 5 cards I never received. They verified the correct address every time. I never received a permanent card with my name on it and I have had this card for 2 months now. I called to get another card re-sent but was not told that it would deactivate my temporary card and I didn't think it would seeing how they had already re-sent 4 different cards but I was still able to use my temporary card.
I have 1,300 in my account and they just keep telling me I don't have access to my money because I don't have a permanent card and there is nothing they can do to give me access or refund my money onto another card. Then they said they expedited me a card through FedEx but do not have a FedEx tracking number. I called FedEx. They have no record of anything being sent in my name nor to my address. Asked them for corporate's number. They don't have a number for them. If you're thinking about getting a card from Walmart DON'T!!!!

So for the past few years I have had a Walmart MoneyCard account and have been using it faithfully. However twice now within 60 days I have been paid by my company and the funds are deposited into my account (trace from my company's bank confirms this), and yet Walmart MoneyCard doesn't show a deposit. Contact support and the non-English speaking person on the other end has no idea what I am talking about and I can't even understand them. In today's modern age of banking this should not even crop up for any bank, much less a multi-billion dollar a year company.
The Walmart reps that you get on the phone to try to "help"... It's actually worded incorrectly as they should put "Hindrance" instead of "help", because they are not help at all. So I'd like to know several things from Walmart. 1) Why are you having this difficulties in today's modern world of banking? 2) Why are you employing non-English speaking personnel for your English speaking clients? 3) What do you plan to do to resolve issues 1 and 2? 4) Why is it so hard for such a massive company to provide the essential and simple things?
As of writing this review I am indeed irritated and at a loss as to why this has happened. The last time this took place it took almost a week for this issue to be resolved and in that time essential utilities had been disconnected. Walmart's response? Well it was a polite but simple "We do not care about you, you can go away now." Granted I am paraphrasing here, but you get the point. So now I am once again facing possible termination of utilities because Walmart has lost funds.

I noticed that numbers weren't adding up on the transactions on my card. More specifically, my transactions were all correct, but my balance listed in the transactions and the available balance were significantly different. I contacted customer service and was told that it was an IT issue and they would work to resolve it. I sent screenshots showing where I should've had the higher amount, including all transactions from the current period to the email they requested. They never contacted me, and every time I contacted them (often days between calls) I was passed from person to person and never given any real answers.
Today, three weeks later, I received an email. The email stated that there was no error and my card was functioning properly. Now, having already been told there WAS an IT error and having pictures as proof of what the problem was, I'm finding it hard to believe that I'm not getting the money back that I already had in my account. The atrocious customer service was almost as bad as the situation given. Mistakes happen, but the manner at which this was handled was beyond unacceptable.

My card expires September 2016. Walmart mailed out a new card on September 2nd at the same time they deactivated my old card. I haven't been able to retrieve any of my money off of my card to pay bills, get groceries, get gas, etc since September 2nd. I have talked to several customer representatives when calling the number on the back of the card. I've even talked to supervisors and the district manager. I was told by a supervisor to wait for it to come until Wednesday September 14th. It is still not here. Today I talk to the district manager and he told me that if I wanted to close the account they could mail me a check for the balance on my card which would take at least two weeks to get the check or I could have them reissue me a card which would take another 2 weeks.
I don't understand how they can deactivate my old card before I receive a new card. I don't want another card, I don't want to wait another 2 weeks, I want my money now, I need my money now! They have held my money hostage for too long. Called the Department of financial institutions, Federal Reserve consumer helpline, and an attorney. I have filed complaints with the Federal Reserve and Department of financial institutions.
Another policy I do not understand is that an ATM with the Pulse emblem on it allows you to use the ATM for free. But when you go to Walmart they don't have a Pulse ATM there and you get charged $3.75 from the ATM plus the card charges you. You go to the cash register to withdraw money off of your card you get charged a fee. You bring a check or cash to load onto your card you get charged a fee. So basically they're making money off of you. If you think about it, the money everyone puts on their card they put into a bank account and make interest off of the money that is put on the card then they charge everyone who has a card, fees to put money on the card. So they are hitting you with a double whammy.

I had a Walmart debit card for a few years and in May of this year I closed my account and ask for a refund of my remaining balance so they told me it will take 2 weeks for me to get it. So I after 3 weeks and still no refund I tried contacting customer support and I could not get through to them because when you close your account they remove you from their system and there is no way to contact them other than by email. So I emailed them at the beginning of June to find out what's going on because I have not received my refund and they called me back within 2 days. So we figured the refund check was lost in the mail so they put a stop payment on that check and reissued me another one and told me it will take 10 days for me to receive the new check.
I waited for 10 days expecting a refund of my money and still no check so I contact them once again about my refund and I got the same response as before so I wait another 10 days and still no refund. Needless to say we went through this song and dance 3 more times after that so I told them to send the next refund check to my business address since I have not the other 5 refund checks at my home address and as I expected no check came. So I have been trying to reach them again because it has now been 4 months and still no refund, no callbacks or anything and because my account is closed I cannot call them. So please stay away from Walmart money card and green dot bank because they're crooks. Now I have to get a lawyer to get my $300 back from them.

Well Aug. 21, 2016 I went to the new "neighborhood market" Wal-mart, and loaded $160 at the service desk, was handed my receipt and left the store, as usual. Maybe a week later, my wife goes to Lowe's to make a purchase for me with same card and it was declined, and she was embarrassed of course. After getting a polite earful from her I was totally confused. Checked receipt, everything is fine. Checked my account and I have a -$1.34 balance.
So follow me Aug. 20, 2016 I have a ending balance of $1.66, 8/21 after a monthly service fee ($3) my beginning balance is -1.34. Also on 8/21 I have 2 other transactions reload swipe for $160.00 and another that's labeled reverse swipe $160.00, all to end up with a balance of -$1.34. Now we all know depositing a certain amount then withdrawing same amount is nothing out of the ordinary. The problem is it's a pre-paid debit (meaning it won't allow you to go in negative), therefore I should have a positive or zero balance.
Anyhow I went to the store where reload was made spoke with store mgr. He then contacted Green Dot and eventually we were all on speaker phone confirming everything. The mgr went as far as checking video surveillance and seen me hand over $160.00 and yet not walk away w/ no refund. Now both mgr and GD Rep. are feeling good for themselves because they're blaming the other party, yet I'm the only dumbass out of money. So I was told by Green Dot representative that I have to put in formal dispute and follow whatever their procedure is. They gave me a case #, and I'm to follow up with a "dispute form". My point is, that it is very clear what happened, I shouldn't have to go through loopholes to receive what's mine. Make a long story short another 10+ days have went by with no response. So last night after counting bills I realize I never sent the dispute form out.
Now here's where it get even more frustrating. I sent the dispute form completely filled this morning at 8 a.m. central 09/14/16 simultaneously by both email and fax. I get a email from Green Dot after 4p.m. central thinking it's a reply to my email and/or fax. No they were notifying me to send them a dispute form. The same form I sent email and fax 8 hrs earlier you're not aware of. Are you kidding me. So in other words my case hasn't even been looked at. This is totally ridiculous. This is my hard earned $ that you held hostage. Yes it only $160, yet my DirecTV bill is $160.
Me sitting writing this is not what I do, in fact I hate writing post. Though being one who's quick to read others I know how informative reviews can be for the public's knowledge. So people should be aware of Wal-mart pre-paid Green Dot debit card. (If this was a video I could more descriptive but typing gets me tired). Look forward to me following up. I called about a transaction I didn't recognize. I called customer care, they transferred me to another department. I explained what happened. The person on the phone cancelled my card and proceeded to tell me it would be 10 business days before I would have access to my money!!! She did this without asking if that's what I wanted. I could not understand her as she spoke broken English. The only remedy to the problem of me not having access to MY money is she can expedite it...which means I am still waiting to use my own money. This is not acceptable. I should have been advised of what she was doing before she did it and I should have been able to purchase a new card at Walmart and my money transferred. I have been using Walmart money card since it started and it seems like they do not appreciate their customers.
UPDATED ON 09/21/2016: My MoneyCard was cancelled on September 14th. I have still not received it. I was told by to Customer service agents (and I use that term lightly) that my card would arrive in 3 business days. It will be delivered by FedEx. When I did not receive my card after 3 business days the agent said to give it to the end of the day and I should have it. I did not get it. I called back only to be told my another person that could not speak English well that my card had in fact been sent standard mail and I would need to wait 7 days. Maybe Walmart employees can afford to wait a week for their paycheck I can. I WANT MY MONEY!!!

This issue was resolved by the tech dept shortly after my post. Although, I do not agree with an almost 24 hour turn around, I am happy that it was resolved so that I had access to my money when I needed it.

I transferred $142 from my account to my vault and it shows the transaction but Wal-Mart never actually credited my vault. My money disappeared. I kept being told it would be resolved in 2-4 hours, however almost 24 hours later it has yet to be resolved. No one seems to care I have bills due and an OB appointment to pay for tomorrow. The last time I called they told me it's a technical glitch and to keep checking my account for it to be resolved and they are no longer able to provide me with a time frame.
How is it possible my money can "disappear" from just being transferred to my vault? What am I supposed to do about late fees I incur due to their error? No one seems to care that my money just disappeared. I just want the money put back in my account. 24 hours later and it's still not resolved is ridiculous especially since the reps say they see where I put the vault transaction through and they notice it didn't update my vault total. I don't know what else to do at this point.

Complete crappie. Had to replace card 3rd times for charges unauthorized. They say my account has been compromised. I work hard for my paychecks for someone to fraud my account and they can't refund me my money. Every time I call they disconnect. There money transferred from my vault (savings) without authorization.

I was in the parking lot of my local Walmart today to buy diapers for my infant son. I was checking my card balance before I went in to make sure I had enough for anything else if I needed it. I noticed a charge that shouldn't have been there, so I called the customer service number and disputed the charge. The woman I spoke to immediately cancelled the card before I could tell her anything else and hung up on me. I spent the next 20+ minutes calling back and tried to get my card briefly reactivated. When I couldn't, I requested to speak to a supervisor. The first time, I was NOT connected to a supervisor... and then when I asked that person to get me a supervisor, they sent me back to the main menu. I tried again with another person and they transferred me to a man named "John." He said there was nothing that could be done.
I used to work at a financial institution call center. I find it VERY DIFFICULT to believe they cannot reactivate my card briefly since I was LITERALLY OUTSIDE OF WALMART. I COULD SEE THE DOORS FROM MY CAR. My child needs diapers and now I don't know what I'm going to do. I need to put gas in my car to go to work, but I guess I'll just lose my job because someone dropped the ball. I guess I could call a cab, but oh wait, ALL OF MY MONEY IS TIED UP AND I CAN'T. I no longer have any options. As soon as I get my new card and my disputed transaction is back in the account, I will gladly pull every cent out of the account and cancel the card. I will never do business with the Walmart Money Card, the Walmart Money Center, or Walmart again.
I suppose they hope my son can hold up for a week with no diapers. I supposed they assume my job will wait until my card comes in the mail for me to be able to come to work. I am very upset and this is unacceptable. How about, oh I don't know, train your employees to have common courtesy to notify you that your card will be cancelled and ask if you need to access any of your funds before they do that? The only people I talked to are poorly trained and insensitive. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I've had my Wal-Mart card for two years, in that time nothing bad has happened until today (9/12/2016). I noticed two transactions, both not made by me, one for $45 and another for $146.85. After trying hard to get in contact with a actual human being; both were very little help. The first was very unprofessional and said he'd forward me to a account specialist. I said ok. Then he cycled me to the front phone menu, and reset my call. The second helper barely spoke any English, and while she was the more helpful of the two (helpful as in actually getting a dispute in for the $45) she claimed there was nothing they could do about the large $146 transaction.
So that's it then? I work for this company. I get paid by this company and apparently I get robbed by this company. Why should I continue to use this card, if they can't keep my money safe or at the very least help me get it back? I'm not one of those non-tech savvy individuals who can't maintain privacy and password security, I keep things very well locked in that regards, yet one thing breaks through and Wal-Mart doesn't care. Ironically I was working all day, at Wal-Mart for crying out loud, so how could I have made these transactions? All I want is my money back, the thing I worked hard for, the thing I unfortunately need to survive. Now I'm out the $200 I had for bills, with no foreseeable solution. Guess I'm going powerless for the month of October. Thanks Wal-Mart!

Per the information on the website, funds for direct deposit are supposed to post "Two days earlier". However, funds being posted is contingent upon when your payroll office releases your funds. Which my agency releases funds early, as I have several co workers who get paid early. I contacted Walmart MoneyCard customer care to check on the status of my direct deposit. However, I was informed that it could take three full pay periods. No where on the website does it mention you have to wait three pay periods for your first direct deposit. There are several consumers who can't afford to wait three pay periods to receive "their" hard earned pay. The three week time frame defeats the purpose of having this product.
I have used the Walmart MoneyCard for many years, but after this I'm done. Furthermore, it's false advertisement to have an product that doesn't do what it says it does. I want my funds asap and I plan to never use Walmart MoneyCards again. The customer service rep stated that they have no record of my direct deposit. Then I call back and she states that it can take three full pay periods. It is very disheartening to utilize a product /company that doesn't measure up to its promises. Now I will be short funds, because your company DID not pull through and provide the service promised. I also asked to speak to a supervisor, yet I was never granted the opportunity. There are a lot of consumers who are experiencing the same problem that I'm facing. If you can't provide the service/product, then it needs to be taken off the market.

I was recently a victim of fraud. Someone somehow hacked my card and made charges to my account. I live in Arkansas. The charges were made at a Supercenter in Texas. I did all the proper paperwork and my claim was denied. I work hard for my money and when that happened I was furious. If need be I will take legal action against Walmart MoneyCard.

When I went to the store and attempted to use the card it was declined. So I decided to go to another store to make a similar purchase since it was small and it wouldn't take long. It was then declined there too. So I got onto my account and the original was pending for 217 so I returned and the store said no there was no purchase made and showed that nothing had happen so I called for dispute and they told me to call the following morning. Called back. Explained the issue again. The lady refused to allow me to speak to her manager several times.
After I called back a third time I immediately requested to talk to a supervisor. The gentlemen was kind and spoke with me before transferring me to a supervisor. Then the supervisor explained to me that they had authorized the money and it was pending when all purchases were declined on the store end. Walmart Visa allowed it to go through anyway putting a ten day hold on the money. Now this wasn't a minor hold like 10.00. It was a 217.99 dollar charge that I had no access to nor did the company. This to me was wrong. First off it was declined and today broke with money and having to wait 10 days before I get a refund or Walmart Visa releases my money back into my account. Worst account ever. I'm closing it once I receive my refund that was declined.

I bought today my second Walmart MoneyCard because I wasn't able to reload the first one. I finished the money from the initial load and without registration you know someone cannot use it any longer. So here comes the second one, same story, no personalized card ---> no further use. I gotta say I'm a J-1 student and after the first input of the SSN number, the field said it isn't valid, but after refreshing I was able to pass that page. Unfortunately, the "We cannot issue you a personalized card" appeared. Therefore, I think it's because the SSN number but I'm not sure. I need help asap. I'm looking forward for your answer. My 2015 federal return was 1 of the unlucky chosen ones selected for a full audit which took 7 months and was approved for deposit on 9/8/16. Walmart/Green Dot stopped accepting IRS refunds for 2015 May 31, 2016 and rejected the deposit. I did not choose to be audited nor did I choose for it to take 7 months and now I'm being penalized by Walmart/Green Dot for it. My tax refund was sent to Santa Barbara tax group as I selected Turbo Tax fees to be taken from my refund. Santa Barbara is a Green Dot bank too and since Walmart rejected my refund deposit I now have to fight and wait for a paper check. I've dealt with the IRS for the last 7 months and now I have to deal with Green Dot banks who make it just as difficult as the IRS and I'll be waiting another 3 months for a paper check. Other than this issue, I like my Walmart MoneyCard. I've had one for 5+ years yet loyalty means nothing.

Have used the card for 1 year now with no issues until yesterday - Called and reported an unauthorized Direct draft with unknown name with word payroll attached to it on same day and showed up for $500. During the phone call the lady was hard to understand and immediately canceled my card and said a refund would be sent out without giving me any option. All of me check for 1st was still on card and direct deposit coming in on 15th and I have no way to get to it if company I work for can't stop it. She did take the dispute info and give a case number but now I have no way to contact anyone regarding this matter. It just says refund check is being mailed in 10 days. I have received no confirmation the dispute form has been received or how to even check on it. I need info about this claim and how to check on this. Very unprofessional to leave customers in the dark about where their money is with no way to contact to ask questions.

I decided to use the card for a vacation. When I arrived at the hotel, they accidentally charge my card for $520 instead of just $20. They immediately voided the charge on their end, but the charge was still pending. I called the customer service center and was told the money would be returned to the card by September the 13th. The hotel manager then spoke with customer service and told them they had voided the charge, to please credit the money back. He offered to send a form, they refused.
When we asked to speak with a supervisor, first I was told someone would call me back in 24 hours. Then the customer service rep hung up on me. I called back and was told that a supervisor would call me back within 4 hours. I never heard from the supervisor and still haven't received my money. The hotel was able to give me cash for my vacation, but nothing from Walmart Moneycard. I will not use this card again. They do not follow through with supervisors returning calls, nor do they offer to help their customers in any way. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I have had a Wal-Mart money card for years now and have never been very impressed, but it does what I need for the most part. This tax season we filed our return and I filed an injured spouse form to receive my portion of the return untouched. I received a letter dated August 8, 2016, stating I would be receiving that portion. Come to find out, Wal-Mart money card cut a off the date a tax return can be accepted into accounts after May 30th! As if they never come later than that. Anyhow, I called customer service today and tried to inform the agent that I had just come to that knowledge and wanted to know if my funds had been returned to the IRS in order that they could send a paper check. I could not get any answers.
The agent told me if I was expecting a refund to keep monitoring my account... I had to reiterate that it was not a general refund but tax refund that would have been rejected, and I needed to know if my funds were sent back. I was put on hold and again told monitor my account for the refund. SERIOUSLY!?! I am very frustrated that I can't get the answers I need to find out when I should be expecting a paper check or if Wal-Mart money card even sends the funds back to the IRS. Feeling super uneasy about the whole deal. I'm very very done with Wal-Mart money card. This, plus all of the trouble I've had getting my own money off the stupid thing has me completely up in arms.

I've contacted these people on several occasions only to find out they are not responding back to me and giving me the runarounds not to return my money back to me. I am here trying to file a dispute claim but they are telling me to directly contact those people in which the money has been sent to and so I did just that only to come to the conclusion that I'm directed back to contacting walmart money card to have them dispute these payments so I can get refunded my money back as I am wanting to chargeback these purchases I have made as these people I am dealing with are fraudulent scammers. I experienced fraudulent charges on my Walmart Money Card, and reported it to customer services. I asked what my options were and was told that they would have to cancel my card. Don't get me wrong I'm very appreciative that they are only trying to help secure my funds and identity, but honestly I really didn't want to deactivate my card at the time. I'm a single parent living from paycheck to paycheck. My rent was due the day after the cancellation my card and I also had a direct deposit coming through that day.
I was highly upset to realize that I would have to wait 7 to 10 business days to access my funds. I just feel that's completely unfair. I mean they are not a bank where you can go in and withdraw funds at a teller or bank so there should be other options if your card is compromised as to get your funds. For example, maybe overnight you a card or have the option to purchase another card and transfer your funds to that card. I was then told that it's out of my hands and it's not my choice to make that my card had already been deactivated and a new one would be sent in the mail, so I will be receiving eviction papers tomorrow because I can't pay rent. My funds will be held for 7 to 10 business days. I will be canceling my services with Walmart Money Card as soon as the new card comes in and I get my funds. Other than that I haven't had any issues. I still expect better options when bad things like this happens.

I swipe my card at two different businesses today and both told me my card was declined. I call customer service and they tell me I have no access to my funds because my card was cancelled yesterday and a new card was issued at that time and it would take 10 business days to receive the card. I NEVER REPORTED MY CARD LOST OR STOLEN NOR DID I CANCEL MY CARD FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER. I am then asked if I may have mistakenly cancelled my card through the automated system, which I didn't and WOULDN'T as I always use the Internet to access my card information to check my balance and transactions.
I'm told that I can't speak to anyone in corporate offices until Tuesday due to the holiday Monday and that their hands are tied and that I will be unable to access any funds until the 14th of September. This is my second encounter with this company in 4 months wherein I'm unable to access my funds with no fault of my own. These people are messing with my money and I live paycheck to paycheck. Fraudulent activities are most definitely occurring on their end and I am completely unable to do anything or reach anyone in the United States to speak with about this matter. Unbelievable. I would never recommend this card to ANYONE EVER AGAIN!!!

I was told last week my card was compromised due to suspicious activity noticed by "the system" which I received no notifications for. So this "system" shuts down access to my card and the money I have on my account leaving me with no way to pay my bills. I called the help number on the back of the card to try and get some kind of assistance. The only thing I got from them was they can't do anything to help the situation. I have to wait 10-12 business days to receive the new card.
That left me quite upset to to say the least. My problem with this is my bills are already passed due and this service left me with no way to access my finances before this replacement card gets here. Why isn't there a temporary protocol set up to get customers access to their money while waiting for this replacement card? Also why wasn't I notified that my card was going to be disconnected? This warning would have been helpful so that I could have prepared myself accordingly. Lastly why is the circumstances surrounding this compromise not being disclosed to me so I can prevent it from happening again?

I have been using their prepaid cards for quite some time, but now I'm aggravated. It seems every time I go to a restaurant, bar, clothing store or even gas station every time they swipe my card my balance on my remaining balance shows on my receipt or on the screen of the merchant. I have called customer service and was told I should shop online for my purchases. I feel that was very rude due to I don't just sit around and shop online. I have a life that doesn't revolve around technology... I just want that issue resolve or I'm gonna have to get another card.

My card expired on the 31st of July and I have not received a new one yet. I call on the 2nd of August and ordered a card that was supposed to be received in seven business days. When I didn't get that one in the mail I called back and talked to a customer service rep who didn't speak good English so I asked to talk to a supervisor. He then told me it would be another 14 business days. Now, my utility bill was late. I asked specifically when I was going to be receiving the card and they said the 23rd of August which came and still no card. So I called back mad because all of my paychecks was being deposited and rent is coming up.
I spoke to a customer service rep and asked immediately wanted a supervisor. They placed me back on hold and now I'm furious. I explained that my bills are late and I need my money. The supervisor got on the phone and apologized for the inconvenience and said he was going to expedite the card for 3 business days which would've been this Tuesday so I asked which courier to be looking out for. He couldn't tell me so I asked for corporate's number and he told me that I'm not authorized to get that information. I asked why and he couldn't even give me an answer. Tuesday came and stayed home all day and no card.
This Thursday, which was the first, I decided to stop at Wal-Mart to see if they had another number for this card. The CSM tried her hardest to help me out but the supervisor refuse to speak to her so I got back on the phone and asked where is my card. He said it was sent back to them. I asked "how was it sent back to you guys in less than a day." He said nobody was home to receive it, I said that was a bunch of BS because I stayed home all day. Then I asked "what was the tracking number for this package. It will let you know exactly what time it was supposedly delivered." He said he doesn't have a tracking number but then I asked who was it delivered by he said FedEx.
I know FedEx has tracking numbers for all their packages so I asked for corporate's number again because I could not wait another day for MY money. He said the most he could do is send them an email to have them contact me within 24 hours which I'm still waiting for that call then he said I won't be receiving a card until the 7th of September. I told him my rent is due by the 5th and my utility bill is already overdue. I asked him is this the only way I have access to my funds is through this card and he said online but I can't get online because the first question they ask for is the card number but the only card I have is invalid.
I told him this was a bad way to service customers if the only way for people to get their hard-earned money is through a card. I am highly upset at this whole entire situation and ask if Wal-Mart could please remove those cards from green dot from their shelfs. I am currently looking for a lawyer to handle this situation but still currently have no access to my funds.

We have a credit from a campground being issued to us and I get up to check the balance on the card so I can start paying bills and have a message to call customer care. I call them and find out they have put a temp block on my card until they see the original receipts and the refund receipts. Once they get that they said the block would be lifted in 1 business day. This is Labor Day weekend and not to mention all the money we have is on that card. My fiance's direct deposit is on there and he cant even use his money. I can understand holding the credit from the campground from going through until you see the receipts but I dont agree with blocking money that was already on there that has nothing to do with this. All you get is a bunch of excuses from them. You ask to speak to a supervisor and there is always an excuse. Once this is resolved there wont be anymore using Walmart Money Card for anything. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I called and reported a card as lost. Rep advised me to go to store pick up zero balance card and transfer funds. At no time did I ask for replacement card because I wanted to close the account. A week later a card arrives. I check the statement and there was a 3.00 charge. When I called to ask for my money back because the account was being closed, several people who I could not understand half of what they were saying were rude, nasty and condescending. I refuse to shop at Walmart or use any of their services because of these ill-mannered agents. I have never gotten my money back and no one ever will with Walmart money card. Read the reviews. Stay away people.

Had some unexplained charges on my card. The rep immediately cancelled my debit card without filing an investigation on the charges and I had no way to access my paycheck. I was told they would send me a new card which takes 7-10 days. In the meantime I have no way to access my paycheck to put gas in my car or buy food. I was extremely upset that they didn't even investigate these charges and blocked me from at least making a withdrawal. They need to conduct a more thorough investigation before they block people from their money. I am no longer interested in participating in the Wal-Mart Money Card service because of this. I am done with them.

LESS THAN ZERO! I bought a MoneyCard today (9/1/16) for personal reasons. I went to register the card online and it said it could not verify my information and therefore I could not reload the card (I wanted to set it up for Direct Deposit). I called the 800 number and was told it was because my address was too new (I just moved to California from Louisiana). I asked if I could re-enter my old address in order to verify my identity and was told, "no. There is no possible way to do this!!" WHAT?! Anyways, I said, "Fine. I want to close the card and get all of my $$ back." They told me I could not get a refund. I could only use the money on the card. It was obvious the young girl on the other line had not dealt with this issue before and could also barely speak English. I blame WALMART for poor training and hiring people in CUSTOMER SERVICE jobs who can't even understand English. This is absolutely unacceptable!!

I made a purchase on August 24, 2016, the order was cancelled. The merchant said it will take 72 hours for the money to get back on the card. I then placed another order on August 25, 2016 on my Chase card and had to cancelled the order and the money was returned in 48 hours. I still have not received my money on this Walmart MoneyCard. It still show as pending. When I called the person could barely speak english and told me 10-14 days. I asked why so long. It took seconds for you to take it off. I needed my money back before the Labor Day weekend. I will not use this card again!

I called the number to report my address changed and told the representative the new address on 08/14/2016. On August 20, 2016 I called to report that I lost my card. They said that they were sending out a replacement card. I waited patiently for it. Finally called them back to find out what happened. They said they didn't know. Said they were sending another card expedited service. So here I sat. They have my paycheck from a week ago plus my Veteran's benefits which went into the account today. I am now not able to pay rent, buy food for my children, nor pay bills. They keep telling me to be patient. Next call is to my attorney. I found them to not be very truthful.

I've used the card for two years with no problem. Last month the card expired and in spite of ordering a replacement twice, I have not received a replacement. I went to the Secretary of State, slid my card, it was declined. Looked at my balance. Walmart MoneyCard took it off my balance. I transferred more money from the vault. She slid it again. Walmart MoneyCard declined it again and took the money off my balance. I called them. They apologized and credited one of the transaction immediately and told me the other one would post after midnight. That was over a week ago and I am arguing with them daily about crediting me the second amount they took off. They are saying they didn't even though I have a snapshot where they did.

I have been amazed at this card. I got a black card and NEVER have to pay a load fee. For years I've saved so much with this feature that cost about a dollar more. Don't understand why anyone wouldn't get it. I have had one problem in 5 years or more. I got a refund at Staples. When I did something wasn't right and the guy said it's never asked for that before on his register. As it turns out it didn't process right there and I didn't receive the refund. I processed a claim. I was send an email that it was declined (nuts) and that I would receive a letter of explanation.
I never got it so months later I emailed customer service and didn't get a response. But I looked in my account and it had been refunded earlier but I didn't notice. Not a good thing and luckily it was only $10 or I would be panicked. I'm a single mom unable to work with special needs adopted children. I can have any funds go missing. After reading these reviews I'm not going to keep that much money in this account. Thanks all.

Okay bought a Walmart Money Green Dot Visa Card to load paychecks on for my husband's work. Everything was okay at first then started having issues. Noticed that when you make a purchase the money showed pending transaction that money was held. Okay then on statement there was where it came out so that was a charge. This has happened several times now. Called customer service they give us the runaround and will not fix nothing. This is the worst card ever. I will never recommend getting this card. Oh and my husband coworkers have these cards too and they're also having the same issues with no luck on getting it fixed.

Just finished getting my money back after getting my account wiped out again. Like others, it was from the target scam. This time, after an eBay purchase. Had to fill out the paperwork, talk to someone, blah, blah, blah. So, here's where the problem begins. Right after I got my money back, they had me on lock down. As in, they set my daily availability quite low. I couldn't pay any bills, use the card or take money out past a certain limit. Not sure how much that was exactly as they did not inform me. It took days to pay bills as I would take as much out and have to put it into another account. The atm would state I was over my daily limit, but I had no idea what that was. Today is my last day using this card as I will be zeroing it out and will never deal with Walley World again.
You no longer can report your card stolen or lost. You no longer have access to a human being, and even those from overseas, somewhere, making 0.35/hour. Nope, not once can you even get a hold of anyone, at any time of the day or night. Wal-Mart, what the hell is wrong with you people??? A long time we put up with you, but no more. There are other options.

My wife has her social security direct deposited onto this card. For the last 3 months, we have been fighting to get access to her money. When we try to contact customer service, we are told her card number, birth date and social security number are invalid. Her card has been hacked, her account has been locked, payments were declined, and now, because of this, our property in storage is in danger of being auctioned. As of this date, she still hasn't gotten access to her August social security payment that was sent August 3rd... Now it's time for September's payment and we can't even get the balance! Worst card ever!

Three weeks ago I purchased three of the Walmart Moneycard for gift purposes. Turns out the cards I purchased were not what I wanted. Call the number on the back, spoke with the representative. She assure me I will get my refund back. Thinking that was easy no hassle. About a week later I get a letter from the company Green Dot accusing me of purchasing the card for their not intended use. I was appalled. First of all I use their products before and never had any issues. As soon as I realized the mistake I first call Walmart. They said you can't request the refund in the store but to call the number on the card. Four weeks later I am still waiting for my refunds! WHY WOULD WALMART DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY WHO ROBS PEOPLE OF THEIR HARD WORKING MONEY? I want my refund returned.

Walmart money card is a thief. I recently went to a hotel and was charged an additional 173.88 plus another 10.00 for what was pre authorized charges. The hotel bill itself was already 183.88 plus the additional 183.88 which went missing from my card. After contacting the hotel and Walmart MoneyCard customer service over the course of a week, I was told by Walmart MoneyCard that the pending charge or other 183.88 would automatically be put back in my account on the 27th of August.
I was assured by numerous agents throughout the week that this would take place. Well of course the 27th came and no money showed back on my account. I have been lied to all week my Walmart MoneyCard about funds that are mine. This is not a check or a tax refund that was suppose to come to my account, this is my hard earned money that Walmart MoneyCard takes for a joke. I have asked to speak to supervisors all week and I even left my number four times after being told a supervisor would contact me in four hours. Never seen any type of company where it is so hard to talk to a supervisor. Never seen a company who could care less about the money of the individuals who trust them by placing the money in their hands.
I just want my money and I'm tired of being lied to about my money. I live paycheck to paycheck and now I'm in a financial bind because of this. I put off my light bill that was due on the 21st until the 27th going off of what I was told. No money has been put back on my card. I'm willing to get my family lawyer involved if this situation is not taken care of immediately. I will no longer sit here and wait because of the simple fact I have already waited and was lied to about numerous things. Things like the date of my funds being available, supervisor calling me back.
As far as evidence I recorded phone calls from Walmart as well as screenshots of promises on their websites as well as screenshots of other people with the same complaints as mine. As well as my online check history. My lawyer, well my family lawyer will be handling this situation if it is not resolved immediately. I WANT MY MONEY.

I have had a card for 4 years with minimal issues. Earlier this year my card number was fraudulently obtained and used. I contacted customer service & suspended the card. I was told to wait 14 days before I request an investigation & was charged to have new cards sent to me. Long story short, I decided to request an investigation immediately & I received the $ back for all of the transactions but one. A letter came in the mail with no contact information saying that the investigation was closed and a determination letter would come. That letter never came & to this day no one can help me figure out why 1 of the disputed transactions wasn't refunded. I also don't like that your card balance shows up on your food merchant receipts when you pay, which could've added to my problem!!!

I have been with Wal-Mart Moneycard for little over 3 years now. I've never had a problem... Until last week. I logged in to check my balance, and the ledger showed a balance that was $60 less than my available card balance. I called in to customer service, and they gave me some bogus story about how their end shows a different amount and my end has not refreshed to what their system shows. Whatever. First time it's happened. Well it happened again today. This time it's a $650 discrepancy, and they tell me that my system is incorrect and I need to use a different computer. I tell them that I've used 5 different devices, including the one I've used for the last 3 years and they all show the same thing.
The agent continued to tell me that I was incorrect, and the balance is what he shows. After demanding several times to speak with a supervisor (he didn't want to transfer me. He wanted to keep telling me what my balance really is.) I finally was patched through to a supervisor. Supposedly they are forwarding this to the technical department to get to the bottom of it, and I will hear back within 4 hours. In the meantime, I have no idea what my balance actually is or where the missing $650 went, so I have to wait for them to probably tell me that my balance is what they show because they have control over my money and can do with it what they want. Needless to say, I will be leaving MoneyCard and going elsewhere, NEVER to recommend MoneyCard to ANYONE again.

I have had a Walmart card for a few months now. No major purchases or issues. I used Lyft taxi service and they have a policy to pend $25 until you pay for your fare. Once you pay your fare the hold is lifted and the pending charge goes back on your card within minutes. I actually used LYFT to go to Walmart. I didn't realize there was this hold until my transaction was denied at the register (embarrassing). Worse still, I had no way to get another Uber home. Humiliated, I put my items back and called customer service, at this point wanting me and my son to just get home. They told me there was a block on my account due to "suspicious charges". Ok cool.
I spoke with an agent, let her know what was happening--she should release the funds right? WRONG. She told me it would be September 2 before the hold lifted. A WHOLE WEEK. Why? The charge is still PENDING. Walmart put the block on my card allegedly to protect me but how? I asked to speak to a manger and was forwarded back to the automated system. Walmart is sloppy. Their customer service is terrible. I will close this card ASAP and get a real bank. I'm so disappointed because I enjoy the discount at the store while shopping with their card.

I have spoken with reps that tell me my balance is correct but according to my records and statement directly from my account online it is short by $200. They were rude, hard to understand and very impatient. I had every transaction they discussed with me and I was told I was still wrong. I have had 2 other people review my records.

I've been using the MoneyCard for a couple of years now with no problem, but this past year or so, they've had so many issues. I never know how much is in my account. I won't touch it and it's always changing. When I call the number on the back of the card, I always get the same story. "We're having technical issues. This is how much is really in your account right now. Ignore what the site says." Okay, so, this happening one time, I can understand, but it's been a constant problem for the past few months. Save yourself the trouble of never having access to your money. Don't get this card.
