I really have no complaints about the card other than I'd like a quick balance feature on the app. I like getting paid early and saving a little on my purchases. A chip card would also be nice. My experience is positive.

I don't like how there's a maintenance fee every month and money I deposit in my account doesn't count towards monthly deposit. There's been a couple times it made me go negative. I don't like that there's no atm around me that I can withdraw money from without fee.

I am happy with my card and my experience using it. I haven’t had issues and I have my direct deposit the day before pay day. I never have issues depositing money. Only thing I would like was if there was more atms to use charge free.

My experience with this card is overwhelmingly happy! Very easy to get started, and the Wal-Mart employees explained it beyond what I thought the card could do. I especially love the free direct deposit, love it! My only problem is I'm not getting my daily updates of my balance anymore. Would really like that back. But overall, great card!

I enjoyed my bank card. Work well. Have no problems. Very satisfied. I've been all over the United States using this bank card. Never had any issues. My direct deposits are always in few days earlier than everybody else's. Very satisfied.

My money is always there sending & receiving money. Always easy. Overall great experience. I can use my card anywhere. Would recommend to my friends and family also my coworkers. Would definitely use again. Don't have much more to say.

The money card is amazing!! I suggest it to everyone who wants to open a bank account! It's consistent, easy to use, and I get money back when I shop at Walmart?? Amaziinnggg. 10/10. Will forever recommend. I used banks for so long and hated the overdraft fees and the Boyd, with the Walmart Moneycard I am free from worry.

Wal-Mart Moneycard is perfect for getting paychecks quicker through direct deposit. I always got mine 2 days sooner. I use mine everywhere for everyday purchases as well as online orders. I love being able to transfer funds to my daughters card with any extra charge. I highly recommend to anyone with kids in college.

I absolutely love the fact I can have my taxes and check deposited on my card. One complaint or something that I will would change is to have a chip in the card because most people don't have card readers that swipe anymore. I love my card! I get direct deposit on my card, I order and pay bills online with my card. It is also easy to upload cash on the card or take it out of the atm. It is super convenient for my lifestyle.

The card I received was made of the cheapest plastic available. It lasted less than 6 months. My password for the card wouldn't work in store machines. I could use it to shop online. Store employees were not able to help me with the card's dysfunction. It split into 4 pieces & was thrown away. Robert **

My experience I've had with my card, got to say it's the best card I've had so far. I can count on my card for bills, meals,and gas to go work. I dont have to worry about late delays or insufficient activity that would delay my schedule to complete my daily task.

Npleased to have a bank at Wal-Mart. No complaints, I even tell my friends to get a Wal-Mart card. It really helps and even better than other banks I dealt with in the past. I'm even glad to check my account on my phone and also very glad that whatever money I have is what I have and I dont have to worry about over draft fees.

I never received my new card and it's been months now...irritating for sure!!! I loved the one I had prior to getting married and 8 don't understand why I had to order a new card just to get a new card with my new name on it....That's the bad part of it besides never receiving my new one.

Should be an easier way to dispute when we are being charged right away. Why can't we dispute active accounts once we notice error? I find it offensively misguided by the forms of action being taken for the measurements of return funds.

I'm unable to access my own bank account. But with Walmart's Money Card, I can get direct deposit up to two days early, which is a great benefit. Not to mention the cash back you receive from making everyday purchases at Walmart. The best feature of this card is its playstore app. Which allows easy accessibility to your funds and a way to stash savings money in your vault. Highly recommended to anyone who needs a card.

I am happy with the card and the services for the most part. The only issues I have are the charges for atm withdrawals and I occasionally run into trouble because the card does not have a chip. It is also very hard to contact someone if you have a problem or question.

I have enjoyed using the Walmart MoneyCard over the years. The only low point was when I lost my card and it took two weeks for me to receive a replacement card leaving me without any access to my funds. If there could be a much faster shipping time or a way to go into the store to access your cash somehow that would help tremendously.

I find it difficult to transfer any funds through cash app and other apps with my card. Also find it difficult to purchase a rental car when needed with this card... Is there any way the card can be more available to these issues?

I have been using Walmart money card for a few months now and I think it’s a great way to have a prepaid money type of card. I don’t like using banks so being able to get direct deposit onto the card is great! I also like that the app is accessible and easy to use. I always get notifications when my card is used or if a withdrawal has come out of my account. Some downsides I noticed is that not all apps and/or merchants take the card so sometimes it makes it difficult to use the card. There is also great perks like the cash back tracker which builds when you use at Walmart stores and money savings bank where you can earn prizes. Overall I like having the card, it’s easy to use and very convenient.

My husband and I have been cardholders for several years. We have never had any problems and we do not plan to switch. I like that I am in control of our money and not a typical bank. I receive our deposits early and I do not have hidden fees and overdrafts.

It's a decent service. I wish there was an easier was to dispute charges. I have also needed to order a replacement card for a long time now, I cant figure out how to do that. My current card is worn out and expires soon. I dont want to get a new one with a different number because I use the current number to autopay things along with my work direct deposit.

Everything with the card is great. Fast direct deposit. The app is easy to use. The website is very helpful. The only problem is the wait to get your personalised card. I was not aware how long it would take. Now I'm stuck just waiting. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future.

I love getting paid a day in advance, and the app makes it incredibly easy to check my balance. It also shows me exactly when and where my transactions occurred which makes tracking my money much easier. However, I have had problems when I have attempted to withdraw money from my account at my local Wal-Mart. There is always a hold on the money, but I know I have the amount in my savings. Whenever I go to a bank, I can easily withdraw my money from my card so I'm not sure why I can't withdraw any at my local WalMart. It has occurred on 2 separate occasions, and this is my only complaint. Thank you!

Usually long lines at Customer Service. Been charged twice when loading check into my card and received cash back due to cashier not processing correctly first time. Used electronic deposit and it took 7 days for check to process (way too long to wait)!

I have been with my bank for many years and get paid on Fridays and get my direct deposit on Thursday nights. I kept seeing advertisements saying I can get it two days early, so I switched. It's been a horrible experience! I don't even receive my check at midnight Friday morning, but instead at 5:00 am Friday morning. You don't even have live customer service agents to talk to. I can't wait to switch back to my bank!

I am disappointed in the app and the the ability to get a replacement card. I also don't agree with the check cashing fee to load the card, I have had it for multiple years now, I would think that loyal card holders would be able to have benefits. But a replacement card for free might raise my review since the card is old. Thank you.

I have found it worthwhile to use a Walmart reloadable card if you don’t have or don’t want an account through a bank or want a safe alternative to a credit card. Only downfall to this card is a 3$ fee to load money to the card.

It really make a difference to me that I get my pay a full 2 days earlier than my regular bank account. I am able to pay bills a buy groceries when I need them instead of waiting till Friday night when the stores are really busy with people like me who just got paid, that means a lot to me.

Yesterday 4/1/19 the app was down for nearly 8 hours or more with no excuse or apology making it difficult to use my account. This had never happened before and was quite frustrating. Besides that issue I’m pleased with the card and its features. I also enjoy the Savings game it offers. Wish the cashback offer was higher for in store purchases also because that’s where I use it the most.

I dont have any problem with my card except that you can only load $500 at a time and sometimes I need to add more but you have to pay every time you go to deposit $500. To deposit $1000 it cost $6 to load because you have to do it twice.

I like the card. But sometimes when I need to get money I can not because of the problems with the system being down and I have to check back later. Sometimes I don’t have the time to wait. I need to be able to access my money whenever I need it. I like having the card but it don’t work on some sites. And it’s hard to get your money back if you disagree with a charge.

I use to have the old card until I found out you can earn cash back on your purchases. I upgraded to the cash back card. Now I pay all my bills at Wal-Mart and earn cash back! Not only that but with direct deposit I get paid two days earlier! It's everything I want in a card!

I have been hung up on, and if you ask for a supervisor it is war with them. The blocked my card without warning on payday so I couldn’t pay bills. I will never use Walmart MoneyCards again! And have used them for years.

I have enjoyed having the rewards to be able to add back as I use them. I also enjoy getting the discounts on gas. However, I wish I could cash those rewards in any time instead of having to wait a year and also would like to be able to use my card more than once. I’ve only been able to use once a day. The $5 fee isn’t much but I wish the minimum deposit was less than $1000. It would be a great experience if those things were taken care of.

Very satisfied, it's great to have access to my money via direct deposit 2 days before everyone else. Also, the online mobile app is very simplistic and easy to operate. The only thing that would make this card better is if it had a chip so I could use the cash back option at non-Walmart locations.

I have had direct deposit from 2 different companies and I never receive my paycheck early and the Walmart MoneyCard advertises that you may get your money faster. I have also used another competitor's prepaid card and I have been paid 1 day earlier.

I like having the Walmart MoneyCard, the only thing that sucks about it, is I can pull over 1,000 dollars off with no fee at all but when I try to put money on the card to make an over the phone payment or something like that no matter how much Im wanting to put on there it charges 3.00 dollars.

I recommend it to anyone, I dont like the monthly charge though. It's kinda not my fault I don't make over 1000 a month to have it waived??? However ease and simplicity of the card with the app behind it is a great thing. It's pretty great overall.

The Wal-Mart MoneyCard has worked wonders for me. Although the fees when not at a Walmart to withdraw money is kind of pricey it has been great for me. I'd like to see some more info on the app about sales at Walmart since it is associated with WalMart.

I think you make it way too difficult to add money. I have had issues with Walmart decking to deposit my check to my card when paid by paper check. There is not a Walmart ATM inside the Walmart closest to me and the fees to use other ATMs is outrageous. Allowing direct money transfer to the card would make a huge difference so I could use apps like Venmo.

I think that the fee is too expensive at 5.00 a month. This is suppose to be convenient and it is not so. I think I am going to go back to my bank account where it is cheaper to have an account the money card is not very convenient and cost too much a month to have.

Hello. I’ve had no issues with the Walmart Moneycard service since I’ve been using them. I would recommend to everyone. I like the fact that my check deposits are done the day before expected with this card. The only thing I don’t like (which is not even a big deal) is the monthly service fee of $5. Thank you.

When I earn cash back on withdrawals from my card they have not shown up in the cash back. I should be well over 23 dollars and I'm only at 18 dollars and some change. I noticed yesterday you were having difficulties where I couldn't even check my account.

You cannot prepay at the pump for gas and you cannot use this card with Apple pay. You can also not use this card when renting a car from Hertz. However, you can always use your Paypal card for all of these situations.

Worst experience I had ever. I got this card because of the person who did my taxes he used my old address instead of my new address. Now It's no way for me to receive my new card because when I try to email them it won't send so now I'm out of money and do not know what to do. Someone already scam me over $856 bucks that I'm now trying to dispute. I just dont know how can I get my card to my address. I have no money and currently pregnant with nothing to buy the newborn. I'm very upset.

On 3-15-19 someone did a cash advance in Florida a state I do not live in or ever been to for $623 atm fee $2.50 and balance inquiry fee $0.50. On that same day while I was at work in Arizona I made a transaction at Jack in the Box for $6.69. When I called and made a complaint they said they would have to file a dispute even though I told them it was an unauthorized transaction so they said to wait two weeks and they would have an answer. I also requested that a manager call me and of course no one ever did.
Fast forward two weeks to the 3-29-19 I call in and heard on the recording that the dispute was denied then proceeded to talk to someone who was no help at all and told me to just wait for the letter that will give me reasoning. I also requested to have a manager call me AGAIN. This time I took down the rep's name and employee ID number but once again no one called me back. Next day I receive a letter with this exact reasoning “We have concluded that this is a valid authorized transaction and it will remain on your account.” Nothing else. I am going to make a report to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Federal Trade Commission if this matter isn’t handled within 48 hours.

Updated on 05/28/2019: It's funny I find myself filling a bad review and I still haven't gotten my bad review issue resolved from 4/2019. I keep getting messages saying, "We tried to call you," but I never have any missed calls from any number or UNKNOWN number or any voicemails. And when I called the number and extension left under my review I never get a person. But I do have my call log showing I was on a call 1 hr and 49 min and 2 hrs one time and today 3 hrs and 12 min listening to a message over and over saying the next representative will be with me shortly and 3 hrs later still on hold... On 5/10/2019 Sprint debited my account $211.99 and it said pending. I called Sprint, they suggested I call my card people. I did. I told them Sprint advised me to let Green Dot know to do a charge pull back.
So Walmart MoneyCard non or little to no speaking English agent told me file a dispute so I print and fill out the dispute. I also sent in evidence the day I filed the dispute. I sent them the email from Sprint I received 2 weeks earlier that the payment off $211.99 was going to be taken out of my account on 5/23 2 weeks later than money was originally taken out of my account and I live check to check. I needed my $211.99 to pay my rent. I always pay my rent with my 1st check of the month. So they 1st tell me it takes 7 working days and 3 days later I was told 10 working days.
Well about a week and a half after I opened my dispute I went to Sprint and paid my $211.99 phone with cash so I also sent the dispute department my receipt showing I paid my phone bill because I expected my dispute to be approved because I sent in evidence that showing I was right then on the 10th day I call customer service and the message said, "We have an update on your dispute. It has been denied." I didn't get a call or email or letter or anything not to mention I 100% know my dispute should not have been denied because I sent in the original copy of my evidence.
So I call Sprint because they have 2 payments and one I need back so they advise me again that the card company can do a charge pull back and I believe them. I get email notifications when anything over $25 is spent or withdrawn and 10min after the $211.99 was taken out of my account I was on the phone with Walmart MoneyCard because I knew it was an error so they have enough time to give me my money back sooner and get me to build some type of trust in them but it's 2019. Some companies care less about customers or quality. They care more about the company's bottom line and quantity... I'm sure Walmart Money will cause distrust that will effect all Green Dot Cards.

I'd like to give negative stars. I'm sooo disappointed and upset and distraught. My husband and I have been with Walmart MoneyCard since 2015 and up until now were completely happy. But now both me and my husband have been hacked, personal information has been changed, charges have been made. It's now been a going over a month and we keep being told the same thing. 10 days and to calm down.
Now we can't log into our accounts, keeps saying it isn't the information they have on file. This is so aggravating. My husband card had charges from out of state in a total of a little over $100 and mine is over $200. People are buying hotel rooms, eating out and shopping at Tommy Hilfiger stores, we've been locked from our accounts but we're told to wait 10 days for the 3rd time now. Uuuggghggg. I'm so ** mad. We just want our money back and our cards canceled. This is ridiculous! However I seen a address on here so my husband and I will be sending letters and have faith Walmart fixes our issues!

Using the Walmart Card is easy and convenient. The horrible part is the customer service. Today 3/31/19 I tried to purchase something but somehow had insufficient funds. I called the automated service and listened to my recent transactions noticed a $174 charge to my card I did not recognize. I downloaded the app to see the transactions BUT my password was not working. As I tried to reset the password, it's telling me to verify a phone number that I don't recognize. I call customer service to get it fix BUT they want that phone number. HOW DO I VERIFY A PHONE NUMBER I DON'T RECOGNIZE?
Someone registered my card with their phone number and I am trying to fix it but all they tell me is they need that phone number. It's so frustrating. I have an ID, Social Security Card to verify my identity BUT they won't use that, they need that phone number. I've used this card for a few years, I've had the same phone number for years...I don't understand. Now I am out $174 and there is no way to make a dispute or anything because I cannot verify a phone number I DIDN'T PUT ON MY ACCOUNT AND DON'T RECOGNIZE.

My card and identity was stolen from someone in a DIFFERENT STATE. I immediately called Walmart Money Card customer service and they kept me on hold for hours before telling me to send in a letter to dispute the charges. Charges in total: $1,400 for two brand new phones to a scammer in a different state. I sent in 2 letters and was denied both times saying they couldn't verify this was fraud?? I am legally pursuing Walmart, Greendot and the merchant who allowed this. Horrible customer service and experience. DO NOT USE WALMART MONEY CARD. THEY WILL SCAM YOU WITH ALL THE SCAMMERS.

My account is blocked. I cannot access my hard earned money. This is completely unacceptable! Friday 03/29/19 my pay check from my employer was direct deposited into my account and I also went to Walmart to load an additional $500. I went to a cash register to load the funds on to my card. The reload was almost complete. I handed the cashier $500 plus the reload fee. The register prompted her to get a customer service manager (CSM) to finish the transaction. The CSM WALKS BY AND COMPLETELY BLOWS US OFF. He told me to go to the money center to reload my card and that he couldn't do it at a normal register! He walked off! NO BIG DEAL! The cashier handed me my money back. I went to the money center and loaded my card successfully.
Shortly after my card started to get declined I called the number on the card. The system hangs up on me stating my card is closed with over a $1000 of my money still on it. The number did not allow me to speak to a representative. So I checked the app to see what the problem was! The rude customer service manager that blew me off instead of canceling the transaction at the first cash register made a mistake and approved it after I was already gone! They refunded the additional money of course but to cover his own ** while doing so he had his manager Kim report my card as fraud prompting them to put a freeze on my account. Totally unacceptable. The error was COMPLETELY HIS FAULT.
So today is day 3 without access to my money. WALMART STORE STATES THEY CAN CORRECT THE ISSUE BUT NOT UNTIL MONDAY WHEN THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT OPENS! Before the Walmart card blocked my account they could of at least tried to contact me and let me know what was going on! The issue needs to be corrected right away or I will be consulting with my lawyer about this matter so someone needs to contact me right away to resolve this issue.

I have used the money card for years, it started out great and convenient. Then all the sudden I can't do anything and no one will help. About 6 months ago they started asking me to verify my account even though my info was saved to my phone (login name and password) so I wouldn't forget. So problem is My recovery phone number I no longer have and email account is Yahoo and they were hacked few years back. So I have no way to verify through the recovery method. Even though I should of never been kicked out of my account. NO ONE will help me unlock my online account even though I have still been using the card and have offered customer service every piece of information a person could possibly have to verify one's self.
So because I don't have my old phone number and Yahoo was hacked I have a useless online account and cannot verify when my check goes on there or update my recovery info. So now since NO ONE will help I decided to go elsewhere where there is actually real customer service instead of a person telling me to go to my online account. DUH that's my whole issue. All they needed to do was help me add new recovery info, instead they rather me go somewhere else.

I bought a card, loaded it up, and sent it to a friend who didn't have a bank account so wanted to send money this way. I have once in my 65 years not had something arrive via US mail. It never arrived. I took pics of the receipt and package of the card. Walmart says forget it, like I lost cash. Seems pretty easy to track what happened to it with a picture of the receipt and bar code of the card but Walmart doesn't bother.

Updated on 04/03/2019: Just a follow up from my issue that happened on 03/30/2019, still haven’t received a call back from a manager or anyone from Walmart Moneycard. Every time I call it’s the same thing, wait 5 business days to verify your documents that was sent in. I don’t understand why they just can’t verify it right then in there. This is a major headache and I will never deal with them again.
Original Review: Ordered a Walmart Moneycard. Activated the card when I received it with no problem. I set up a direct deposit for my refund to be sent to my Walmart Moneycard. I received my direct deposit and my card was blocked immediately. I called the number on the back of the card and was told to send in documentation supporting the deposit. I sent those documents in the same day. Called back the next day to see if they received the documentation and was told they didn't have it, I sent it in again and called. They said they had it and my card would be unblocked within five business days.
I called back again the next day to make sure they had everything and to see if anything else was needed. I was informed nothing else was needed and to keep checking my card. I called back the next day to check the status and was told they didn't see my documents, I told them that I sent it in and talked to someone and they said they had it. I was put on hold and she came back and said it was the wrong documents they needed something else supporting the deposit. So, I asked what exactly they need because I gave them everything I had supporting the deposit and the rep couldn't tell me. So, I asked to be transferred to a supervisor and she told me due to high call volume no supervisor was available. She said she can put in a ticket for someone to call me back within 4 hours and I have yet to receive a call back. I have file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I will be taking further action.

Let me start by saying that for years, up until today I've LOVED this card. I always got my pay 2 full days early, it was great. Was. This is the 2nd time an account compromise forced my call to utterly embarrassing excuses for customer service agents. On Friday March 29th I received an email from the Walmart Money Card Fraud Team stating that my card may have been involved in a recent merchant data compromise, and to protect my funds, they must block my card within the next 24 hours and OVERNIGHT me a replacement card. The email then said to confirm my address by calling the number on the back of the card. I called that number, 1-877-937-4098, as I have a few times before. After navigating the terrible menu and finally talking to someone whom I can't EVER seem to understand, and explaining my situation, I'm transferred to an account "supervisor".
Yet again I'm forced to deal with someone I can't understand and explain my situation, again. After reiterating my situation several times, and her lack of attention the problem I just gave up and asked for a replacement card because somehow she couldn't arrive at that fact on her own. She tells me they don't expedite replacement cards after I tell her for the 5th time, that YOU are the ones who sent me both an email, and a text message notifying me of the involvement of my card in a merchant data compromise. YOU are the ones who told me to call the number on the back of the card so YOU could OVERNIGHT me a replacement card.
After a 30 sec pause and me saying "helloooo?" a few times, she repeats that it is impossible to expedite a replacement card. She said they don't do that, and that now there would be a fee! Are you kidding me? YOU people email me AND text message me telling me YOU people "maybe" screwed up my account? NOT ME! YOU people tell me to call you and you'll OVERNIGHT me a replacement card! I call you and go through all your bull crap, and you tell me that there's no way they expedite any replacement cards, ever, and I have to wait 7 business days, AND PAY A FEE?!?! After YOU messed up?? Marijuana must be legal in your state because you people are high. Oh and I still have no access to my money and my rent is due in 2 days, so thanks for that.

I received this card as a gift with a balance of $200. I expected the registration to be like a regular visa gift card but I was wrong. I have never, ever had to give my social security number to register a card online. I didn’t want to do it but that was the only way I’d be able to use the funds. After the registration process, I was notified that they were unable to verify my identity and because of this, I would be unable to use the card online. WTF?! This was a gift. Why did my identity need to be verified at all? I was only able to use it in person which was irritating.
Also, checking my balance was a hassle. Every time I logged on, I got a screen asking me to verify my email address. Every single time! I had to enter my password, wait for them to send an email with the verification code, then go back to the page to enter it. There were a few times when I didn’t even get an email and had to go back to the page to resend it. The 1 or 2% savings at Walmart is NOT worth the hassle of this card.

I was out of town and left my Walmart MoneyCard for my children in Kentucky for groceries but on the same day that my direct deposit was made the money was gone the same time. My children were at the checkout line and was told the card had no money. I checked my transactions and found that someone was making charges in Miami and cleaned my account. I called Walmart MoneyCard and they cancel my card and issued me a new one. They told me that they were not able to do anything that day since the charges were pending and that I had to call them back niece it post.
The next day I called and they gave me a dispute case number and that I had to follow up with copies of the transactions being disputed which I did. Two weeks later I called and they told me my case was denied and said that the charges were authorized. At this point I'm at a Loss because I'm now out 120 dollars and they can't get my funds back. Walmart MoneyCard is a joke and they don't protect your funds.

I put 250.00 dollars on a Walmart MoneyCard. I've been having a horrible time financially and had to overdraft with my bank account to get that money to put on the card. I had to do this because I have to Uber to and from work every day. I call to activate my card, system did not understand my name so I was transferred to a rep and gave the info. Then I was given an automated message that my info could not be verified, and that I can only use the card for in-person transactions. Called customer service line and they told me they'll have to escalate the issue and get back to me, idk if anything will be done. I am so upset, that was over all of my money. How am I supposed to work now.

I got this card to get my paychecks and pay bills safely online. Used it to make an online purchase that I ended up returning and because they "weren't sure if it was real or fraudulent" even though you can clearly see where purchase was made and purchase was returned on the account. They blocked my card and have kept my money. I keep sending them the proofs they ask for via email... I keep calling to get an update... To get told that they have closed the case AGAIN. "And didn't receive the paperwork they were just processing." Liars. Can't hardly hear them. They don't listen to anything you say. Lie about being a supervisor themself. I'm going to be filing with the Better Business Bureau as suggested by my attorney. I would recommend the same for a few of you as well.

I have used MoneyCard for years. I ran into a problem, called after 5 minutes verifying my information. Due to language barrier I was transferred to disputes. This time verification took longer. Verification requirements name, full address, city, state, phone number. If you to find a tempo they understand and they will still have you repeat information. After making it through was told they couldn’t help me. I need to call back. I asked for a supervisor. Fast forward 2 days supervisor calls at 8 at night, ask for verification. As I go through the process my son asks me a question. Next thing I hear, "Please call back when you are ready to speak to a customer service." Before I could respond was hung up on. They lost a loyal customer. To their customers service being the worst I have ever experienced.

This is the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I cannot speak with a live representative to report fraud on my CD and the number provided keeps telling me to call the number on the back of my card which there's only options to check my CD balance and to report my card lost or stolen. This card is a joke! I had a direct deposit put on this card March 1st. It has been put on hold since then!!! I have been told to send documents to verify who I am and my direct deposit slip! 6 times I have done this only to be told they haven't received them!! It's a scam!!! I have now received 3 separate Walmart Money cards in the mail that I didn't sign up for!! I looked on the website on the 'get a card' page and the information that is needed scares me into thinking someone has all of my personal information and that's how they signed me up for these cards. Worse debit card I have ever had period! Walmart needs to do better. This is not stress free and it's almost impossible to talk to someone about your own money! I tried to make a online bank account so I deposit my money into that account. They ended up declining the account because they could not see my documents clearly and they requested for me to come into the back in person. That was on the 12th. I called the Walmart money card number. I was left on hold for 20 mins then they come to the phone and say it takes 3-5 business days to return my money. So 5 days go by and nothing. I called them on the 8th day and was told I would be getting my money back on the 22nd and still no money. It's the 22nd now. I called back now. I notice 2 chargers on my account that was unauthorized for $350 and I filed a dispute once and they denied it for not having a receipt from the merchant of credit. If it was unauthorized I don’t have that proof right and the merchant won't call me back period!!! So I put in another dispute. They block my card, charge $3 and waited for a week to get card. Had to do process over again. Still waiting but they put funds in my account then took it back out. I’m like WTF!!! I sent you all need now Ya'll extended it for WHAT!!! Hold time is horrible and I’m tired of repeating my information over again. Probably why I had unauthorized charges. Then I’m told I will get a call back in 1-4 hours. Nothing!!! Then I’m told 10 days and it say 7 on automated system then 45 days. I’m so pissed off???!!! I have this card for years. I want my funds put back NOW!!! Just giving me the runaround and not great customer services at all!!! I’m done with this card!

I was told to log in through a computer that did not help. Now I have no way of getting funds and the customer service is disgusting to say the least... They never put a supervisor on the line... just a bunch of morons.

I added like $80 for a late Christmas present only to have a charge made in California to a Pizza Hut. I'm in Colorado, gluten-free vegan with serious digestive issues. I don't Ever go to Pizza Hut. Called about the $30. Fraudulent charge and after taking fees out they froze my account so now I couldn't even access what was left. Every time I called it's under investigation. I still can't fully log into my acct, the balance is zero. It was very difficult to deal with customer service.

They charge over $5 for a gift visa card. I put $500 in the card on 3/5 and two weeks later I've tried to register the card to use, and it looks like the value of card went down to .26. I went back to the store and informed them the situation. A supervisor said they can not fix this and ask me to call 800 Visa number which no one pick up and but you have to go through a cycle of voice recording. Looks like someone use my card, the card was with me whole time. The corporate office said there was a transaction of a lump sum for 499.74. They can't file an investigation since it was not registered and someone can use is a store location. Walmart is supporting this type of crime by not tightening their process in the gift card. I find this to be highly ripping off customers and their response is not appropriate. Don't buy a gift card, just give cash.

First of all I have very good credit and chose to use this card for online purchases and gas stations in an effort to protect from identity theft. First time I put more than enough money on the card to cover an online purchase. After two days of being declined and no help from the money card service people I ended up using my debit card from the bank. I added more money now several hundred dollars to the card and tried the same online purchase 90 days later and again declined for no reason. I decided to use the card locally for purchases so it got declined at the Walmart gas station then again inside Walmart store. So I paid again for the last purchase with my bank debit card.
I went to the Walmart money center to complain about the useless card and ask to withdraw all of my money and close the account. The clerk did give me all of my money except for a five dollar monthly service fee of which I just paid. I ask to just close the account and she said to call the number on the back of the card. I get home and call, wait on hold for 15 minutes of my cell time then get a foreign speaking person that I cannot understand. I explain I just want the account closed and he mutters he will keep it open until my five dollar service fee is due.
I went ballistic at that point telling him they have stole my cash and I don't care about the five bucks. Just close the #### account. He kept insisting on holding the account open until they can legally steal another five bucks from me. I told him what I think of them and hung up. This is the worst lack of service I have ever experienced and has made me think MUCH LESS OF WALMART for supporting and selling this junk.

This morning (3/19) I received my direct deposit. I WORK for Walmart... I go to check my card so I could send money to my mother, and my account has been "blocked and pending review". I have called the customer service line and after waiting for a representative, she tells me my account will be reviewed within four hours. That's great, but I need my money now. I have currently asked to speak with a manager and the rep said she was going to see if there was an available manager for me to talk to... I've been sitting on the phone for about fifteen minutes now waiting for a manager. I'm just not sure why this is happening to me... You would think they would not have an issue with a large direct deposit WALMART themselves as it is called the WALMART MONEYCARD. Granted, I know it is ran by Green Dot, but I am just so disappointed. I was hoping for a better experience.

I have had a Walmart MoneyCard for well over 6 years. I LOVED this card. It worked for well for all of my needs. In August, my son left for college. I ordered a second card so that I could quickly and easily get money to my son. I never received it. After calling several times for not receiving it, they reversed the second card fee and I ordered a whole new card, with two cardholders. I got these two cards in a timely manner. Then, in January, my original card expired. I still use the card, so there is a balance on it. They said they sent me a new card. I never received it. From February first until today, I have ordered 17 replacement cards and have not received a single one. Last week, they sent one via FedEx. I called and got the tracking number and called FedEx. FedEx verified that the package had been delivered to an address that I haven’t lived at for 4 years. So, I called Walmart MoneyCard and asked.
They verified the correct address and I explained that’s not where it was delivered. They actually told me that, apparently, FedEx has something against me and they choose to deliver to the wrong address. So I asked them, FedEx in my city knows me on a first name basis. They deliver my sons medical supplies several times a month and we have a great relationship. What you’re telling me is, that despite knowing me and where I live, they decided it would be funny to deliver to an incorrect address? Knowing how important packages delivered to me are, they decided that they would take this ONE package to the wrong address?
The guy actually said “Yes! FedEx does that!” Well, they’ve sent another card. I’ve notified FedEx and put a hold on the package for me to pick up at their facility. I have already closed the new account and as soon as I get my money out of this one, I will be closing it, as well. I can’t do business with a company that will so ridiculously blame THEIR mistake on another company.

My husband has had this card for over 7 years with no issues. He had a fraudulent transaction made that nearly drained his account ONE DAY after his paycheck was direct deposited. It is so clearly obvious that it is fraud, being the only transaction in Waco Texas on a day that he used the card in central Oklahoma a couple hours prior to the Texas transaction was made. He was paid on 3/7 and the transaction was made on 3/8, dispute filed on 3/9 all of 2019. They told him it would take approximately 10 BUSINESS DAYS, however they denied the dispute in 5 business days.
The reason is still unknown as he has called them THREE times today, 3/18/19 (to check the status) and every time, he is either put on an indefinite hold, or they hang up on him. This is by far one of THE WORST experiences. You cannot understand the customer service reps, and they are of NO help. Might as well set your paychecks on fire, because if something happens, you will be screwed!

Everything was great until my card expired. I did not receive a new card, which comes to my PO Box. My income is direct deposited to the card. I called the number on the card to find out where my new card is and was told they no longer send to PO Boxes and the card was returned undeliverable when sent to my old address that they had on file. They told me to send an email to their verifymydocs email address with a copy of my state issued ID and two utility bills showing my address and the matter would be resolved within two business days.
That was several weeks ago. I've called several times and they just tell me the same thing, to send another email. I've sent at least 8 of the same emails to the address with the case number subject line they give me. Yesterday the email bounced saying the mailbox was full and to try again later. I called again this morning and got the same spiel from them (difficult to understand their accent) and they told me I don't know how to use email, and that I needed to send the verification email TEN TIMES. Sent another 5 duplicate emails this morning. They haven't bounced this time, but when I called to see if they had received my emails they put me on hold and my call was disconnected. I need my money badly but can't access it. They don't seem to be able to help me. This has been going on for almost a month now.

Lost my card but never got my replacement yet almost 2 weeks now. It's the 13th day today they said 7-10 days. There’s no way we can access our money or withdraw it. They need to change this procedure. People gonna feed their family and pay bills you know. I hated that their customer service hotline is based outside US and representatives who don’t know what they’re doing. I wish there’s a hotline that’ll connect you to a US based customer service center or the bank directly. We’re talking about our money here. Why make it so hard for us.

On March 1st I tried to send my boyfriend $200.00 from my Walmart MoneyCard app. I typed in his phone number and immediately I got a response saying the money has been claimed. Then he gets a confirmation code to pick up the money. When he typed in the code, it says the money has been picked up. I called customer service and all they would say is "Sorry there is nothing we can do". Frustrated I called back asking who picked up the money or where did it go and they said to call Paypal.
Well Paypal has no record of any transaction for March 1st. I called back again and was transferred to Fraud department. The person answered phone, mumbled some words and transferred me to a recording that would cut in and out. Beyond frustrated I called back once again and was transferred to file a dispute. A week later I receive an email saying there were issues with my card and that I could continue to use it. My dispute has nothing to do with my card. I provided a detailed dispute including the code that was given to pick up the money and was told to wait 2 weeks. I called again and was told to contact Paypal again.
I spent 2 hours on the phone with Paypal and they said my boyfriend phone number is associated with other accounts that aren't his and that the person on one of the accounts picked up my money. They also said they can see who the person was but couldn't give me information on the person and that I needed to call Walmart moneycard back for refund. So I called back to Walmart moneycard and spent 1 hour on the phone with them only to be told once again there was nothing they can do and I could file another dispute. I explained once again that the app did not allow me to input my boyfriend information. No name, no email. Nothing but phone number.
The customer service rep Justin insisted I was wrong and continued to talk over me and even at one point raised his voice at me when I asked to speak with his supervisor. He told me that there is no supervisor available and refused to transfer me to someone else. After 10 minutes of going back and forth he finally transferred me to the Disputes and claim department. Once again I was told there was nothing they could do because the money had been claimed even after I explained what Paypal said to me.
I provided the confirmation code that was given to me earlier today by Walmart Moneycard. The Rep was rude and did not want to hear what I had to say. All she kept saying was my dispute was DENIED and there is nothing we can do and I'm sorry. What is sorry supposed to do for me? It's not like I have $200.00 to give away especially to some random stranger. How is it possible to put my money in someone's account without clear verification on who the money is supposed to go to? No one will tell who has my money. None of the customer service reps are willing to help me. I want a full refund. This is not my fault. Word of advice. NEVER EVER USE WALMART MONEY CARD!!! WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!

I use my MoneyCard to pay bills but Walmart MoneyCard declines my bills when I have the money to pay. By them not releasing my funds, has made my credit worse with late payments and cost me more than $150 in late fees. One of credit cards I was paying using this card, took away all my credit limit due to Walmart MoneyCard not paying them my payment. I am way more stressed and depressed because this card has ruining my finances & credit. I have little to no income and it has cost me a great deal of money I don't have. I have used this card in the past and it was not bad. It is extremely bad now. On top of all my financial losses, they still charge me $5 a month. No one at customer service helped me. I never write reviews but this card has cost me so much pain and financial hardship.

If you are using this direct deposit DON'T. 1st let me say, I have no issues with overseas call centers, everyone needs a job. But when I call customer service and I speak with someone who has no idea what I'm saying, nor when they were respond do I understand what they're saying, the language barrier becomes a major problem. Especially when this is regarding large sums of money that is being directly deposited to this card. If you're looking for a casual prepaid card to put money on for small things, it's not so bad, but if you are using this for direct deposit or anything of a serious financial situation please go to a bank.

On Feb 3rd, I called Walmart money card to report unauthorized use of my card, they promised to send me a replacement 7-10 days, mid February I called back because I didn’t receive card. They promised to send me a second replacement. At this moment my account had a balance of $217. On Feb 27th, the day I was suppose to receive my second replacement, IRS made a big deposited of my taxes, Walmart immediately blocked my account. I called and spoke to a representative, they advise me to upload a picture of my driver's license online. I tried, but was unable to because I don’t have the 16 digit card number. Tried calling them back, my social was entered, but they automated would say "Your account is blocked and can’t speak to a representative until DL is uploaded, goodbye" couldn’t get through whatsoever.
I waited until March 4th, hoping I would get replacement in mail, nothing! Finally, I decided to go back to Walmart to buy a new card so I could use in order for me to get through to customer service, finally did. Customer service gave me a P.O. BOX where to send the copy of my DL, did it the exact same day. She told me it should be there in a day or two since I live an hour away from the city where this P.O. Box is. I called back Friday hoping they had received my document, nothing.
Today, March 13th I called back and customer service is requiring I RE-SEND my DL, even though the copy I sent is crystal clear, in color and you can see everything they need. She asked that I do it online, I told her I can’t do that because I do not have the 16 digit card number, because I’ve been waiting for my replacement for a month and a half now!! She kept giving me the same robotic answers over and over again, not understanding what the problem is.
I doubt she even understands what I am saying because every single representative I’ve spoken to barely speaks any English. Then she tells me "Until you do what you’re suppose to, you won’t have access to your money." I’ve done what they’ve asked me to do, over and over! Walmart has been holding my money for 6 weeks now and there’s no end to this. I’ve filed two different complaint but there’s not a number where I can reach someone higher up that this Walmart customer service number. I don’t know what else to do!!!! I am beyond frustrated at this point.

My account was blocked due to having my payroll direct deposited. When I called to find out why, I was on hold for 45 mins waiting on a "customer service representative". The rep couldn't give ANY information whatsoever. When I asked to speak to someone that could tell me what was going on, I was told there wasn't anyone and that there was nothing they could do. It's not that I needed to access my payroll but any of the money that was already there was frozen also. I am not happy.

I have had this card for years! It use to work flawlessly, no issues the first two years. Then came the end of 2018 and I started having issues moving money from my vault to my account. Call customer service and you get someone that literally can barely speak English. They say they have no American representation to transfer to. So you have to fight to understand the bs they are telling you too. I mean the customer service with this card is the WORST I'VE EVER DEALT WITH.
This is not anger, talking this is reality. Anyone that calls them will immediately agree with me. Now in 2019, I’m having the same issue. Can’t access my money in the vault. Customer service say they are sorry it nothing they can do. Are you flipping kidding me! You can do the most basic task as move money from MY vault to my ACCOUNT. What! Seriously when I get access to my vault I’m pulling all my money and swills the bullet and get a real bank account. I can’t deal with this, not having access to my hard earned money and it nothing nobody can do about it. Not even WAL-MART who issues the damn card. Ridiculous!

I just started a new job and had to use direct deposit. All I had was my Walmart MoneyCard that I’ve been paying bills with for the past 2 years. So I set it up and was eager to get my first two week paycheck! It says I’m blocked from my account on March 7th. I keep calling each time waiting over an hour to speak to someone who could care less about this! I have a special needs daughter and they won’t give me my paycheck. I busted my ** cleaning people’s houses every day 59 hours on my paycheck and I can’t even pay my rent! I hope you hear me clearly Walmart:
I will sue you if I lose anything for withholding my check and trust me I have back up and I will fight to the end! I am told every time I call that a supervisor will be calling me within 4 hours and no one calls. I thought Walmart was a reputable company. After this clears up I’m done with your ** money card and your ** store! H-E-B has everything too. You’re not the only ** ** out there. I spoke with the fraud department, and I've yet to receive a denial letter, and obviously the scam was not properly investigated. The transaction code in question is **. This has been a scam transaction since 2014. Hopefully Green Dot will eventually resolve this transaction, and give me back my money.

Original Review: I purchased a Walmart MoneyCard bc I a cc, at that moment, to take care of my needs. So I purchased one, thinking in good faith, it's Walmart, I can trust. I myself and employer would deposit money onto my Walmart card. Unfortunately, just recently in the month of February, someone wiped my account clean. I don't know who, how, or why. But it has caused me a financial headache. I did NOT give this person permission to take or use my hard earned money. I contacted Walmart MoneyCard to inform them of these fraud charges. So again, in good faith, I'm trusting they will resolve this huge issue and fast. Needless to say I still don't have my funds.
Every time I call customer service it's a nightmare. I get told different things. I've gotten hung up on or transferred without telling or asking me... What company does this??!! Who do you have working for you 5 year olds??! WHERE IS MY MONEY??!! I NEED ALL OF MY MONEY BACK NOW!! This is NOT my fault. I'm losing important things to me bc my money was stolen and Walmart is taking forever to give me my money back. Best believe I cancelled my direct deposits and I won't stop until I get my money back.

Maybe your information on me is wrong cause I answered all of her questions correct. This is Bs to me anyways because so much personal information should not be necessary for a damn prepay Walmart credit card. It's Walmart! I am pissed cause I put money on card to not carry around my income tax money. I lost all other credit cards since I will be a newly divorcee. I would have never purchased this card period if I knew that they would deny me telling me personal info wasn't correct, and now holding my money on this card can only purchase in store, no online, or get any money off. Card was stolen. Been calling trying to get replacement card. Sent them the documents they requested to get new card but absolutely refused to send one after I still had funds on stolen card. I have had a Walmart MoneyCard for years. Today they decided to add a 200 “pre-authorization” to a transaction I have made every two weeks for the last year. They claimed it was from the merchant's end but after talking to the merchant, it was 100% Walmart, which the associate finally admitted. Now they are holding 200 for two weeks for a furniture bill mind you. Not a gas station or hotel or anything in which I could incur extra charges. I am finished with Walmart and will never use their services again.

This company provides horrible customer service. I used my card for a hotel room deposit on 2/28/2019 and I checked out the next day and they are still holding the security deposit. The hotel even confirmed that the money was released, and that it was my bank holding the funds. I called customer service and the rep told me I needed to wait 2 weeks to get my funds back and that a manager will call me back in four hours. I never received that call. This is one of many problems that I have had with this company. I would not recommend this card to ANYONE.

Updated on 03/12/2019: I wrote a review on 3-8-19 about Walmart Money Card holding funds that were released back to them from the merchant. As of this post, they have not put the money back on my account. Today I was served an eviction notice that says I need to leave the premises in 10 days, due to non-payment of rent. I have gone above and beyond what needed to be done for these funds to be released. I went back to the merchant and sat with them while they contacted Walmart MoneyCard, for the second time, to tell them the charges had already been paid by the landlord and that the pending charges should be released. They still refused. The only thing that they say is that there is nothing they can due because the charges are pending.
I cannot change that in their system, the merchant can't change that in their system! They are the ones who have complete control of their system and unfortunately, my money. I have heard more "I'm so sorry, I know how you feel, I wish there was something I could do" so many times that I hear it in my sleep. It's funny that I had 2 transactions prior to this that had funds reversed and the money was released back into my account in less than 24 hours. There is not one single person that I have spoke with, that can give me the answer to why those were reversed, but the larger amount is still to this day PENDING! I am 74 years old and am being evicted from my apartment, because this company is holding my money hostage. I am broken right now and cannot get my thoughts together, because I am uncertain where I'm going to be in 10 days.
Through all this I had less than $200 on my card and have lived on very little so that I can survive until these horrible people release my money. I know that my story means very little to others, because we all have things we're dealing with and somewhere along the line human beings have removed compassion from their souls. It's heartbreaking to think that someone from that company can do and say the things they do and then go home at night with a clear conscience and sleep like a baby. Every human being is important, or else we wouldn't be here. Just remember, you are important, unique and spectacular, because God created mankind in his own image and even if you don't believe in God, you are still loved very much! I hope everyone has a very blessed day and that God sends his grace to everyone.
Original review: Repairs were being done to my apartment due to a huge plumbing issue, so there were days that we could stay in the apartment, but there were days we had to get a hotel room. We went from only missing hot water, to all the water turned off and our toilet was completely taken out. When you're at the mercy of an insurance company, YOUR idea of a safe environment is completely different than THEIR idea of a safe environment. You have to adjust your way of life, in order to survive conditions that are way less than desirable. They will only cover hotel costs if the apartment doesn't meet bare minimum housing codes set forth by the Housing Authority.
So within a few days, the apartment was deemed uninhabitable and we had to vacate the premises and go to a hotel. When you check into a hotel, you MUST have a credit card/debit card, so that they will be able to collect their money if you decide to try to skip out of the bill. They place a pending charge for the room and incidentals onto your card, it remains pending until you check out. It is usually the amount of the room and $100 to cover any room service, drinks, etc, per day. When you check out at the end of your stay, they calculate every single charge for the duration of the time you're there and then subtract it from the pending amount that is being held on your card. The final amount is then charged to your card and it moves from pending to purchase.
So, after a few days went by, my landlord calls and says that he will be paying for all of the charges up to that date and his card will now be used as opposed to ours. When we went to the front desk of the hotel to switch everything over into my landlord's name, we actually had to go through the process of completely checking out. The room and taxes were paid for by the landlord and the room service charges were paid by us. At that time, the hotel cancelled the charges that were pending on our credit card, because everything had been paid for up to that date.
The next day comes and still nothing. Over $1400 is still being held by Walmart MoneyCard, so I called to find out why. After being transferred over and over, not to mention being transferred back to the beginning of the automated system, I finally speak to a live human being. I was told that my money would not be returned until 11 days later and would be sent on three different days. The also said that if the hotel would cancel the charges, they would be released much sooner.
The hotel has done their part by cancelling the charges and have done everything they possibly can to get these people to release the funds back to us. I have been in touch with the hotel every single day since this all started and even went back yesterday to discuss it with them in person. They even showed us on the computer, the transaction cancelling the charges!
In every single phone call to Walmart MoneyCard, I have been given excuse after excuse, LIE AFTER LIE and a whole bunch of empty apologies and "I know exactly how you feel" BS! Every single phone call is riddled with so many contradictions that they cannot even keep up with the lies they spew from their mouths. They do and say anything they can to divert the attention away from the fact that they simply refuse to allow me access to money that is mine. Ironically, I had cancelled an Amazon order while I was at the hotel. They cancelled the order and the charge applied to my card. Walmart MoneyCard reversed the charges and they returned that money to my card in less than 24 hours.
I also had to leave my card on file at the hotel, to cover any incidentals that the landlord/insurance doesn't cover. The hotel placed a $100 pending charge onto my card, but when we checked out the next day, we hadn't purchased anything, so the charge was cancelled by the hotel and Walmart MoneyCard released amount back to my card in less than 24 hours also. Same hotel, same name, same card just a different amount and a different day. How in the world can one amount be put back on my account, but the other 3 are not. They have not once even attempted to explain that to me. It was the exact same hotel, so how can they justify refunding that money and not the others as well???
I have made several calls to Walmart MoneyCard since this all happened and nothing has been resolved. They keep saying that they can't do anything because the charges are still pending. They are even telling me that they NEVER received a cancellation from the hotel. I was told by a supervisor that I needed to contact the hotel AGAIN and find out why they aren't cancelling the charges. The charges HAVE been cancelled!
This morning I call Walmart MoneyCard back to inform them that I had, in fact, spoken with the manager at the hotel in person. I provided them with every single bit of information that was given to me by the hotel, including the transaction number from the cancellation. It wasn't enough for them, they just kept telling me over and over that I needed to speak with the hotel again. I was having a difficult time understanding the person I spoke with this morning, more than once. The last time that I said "I'm sorry I cannot understand you, could you repeat that?", he hung up on me.
Having to deal with renovations in our apartment has been really hard by itself, let alone having to fight to get money back that belongs to me. I sincerely hope that anyone reading this that has thought about getting a debit card through this company, reconsider their decision. I urge you to do a little research, because I would never wish this on anyone. The fear that you have when you are unsure about where your next meal is going to come from is horrible. Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to make sure all the details were here for others to look at, so that this won't happen to them.

Updated on 04/09/2019: Crappy Customer Service - based in Philippines. BEWARE! Do not direct deposit your money from employment onto a Walmart MoneyCard or Greendot card - do your research as this company which is one in the same is blocking people from accessing their funds. My husband & I had a deposit of $1,932.21 deposited on March 08th 2019. We have been asked to send picture of our driver's license to verify our identity, which we did. It’s now April 10th 2019 and they still have our money blocked. The balance is now $10 less, because they pulled a $5 maintenance fee on March 09th 2019 and another $5 on April 09th 2019 claiming account maintenance fee, for an account they blocked. This company are corporate thieves. Stay Clear of them or lose your hard earned money.

My card was charged from a company called Google Domain and once I spoke with Google they have no account for me and show no history of an account being charged. I have spoken to several associate of Walmart Money one that can speak good English and understand what I am saying. I keep getting transfer and transfer everyone passing the responsibility to someone and dropping the ball. I want my money back and will never use these cards again.

So I have had the card for years, just as a back up, never used too much. Recently, I was reimbursed money for a concert that had been cancelled. Funds are back in my account, and not even 24 hrs later I go to withdrawal the funds. I check the app after being told I did not have enough funds, which I knew I did, and found that a company called “Fitness Confidence” out of Michigan had fraudulently taken all the funds I had just received. After waiting on hold for upwards of an hour, immediately being disconnected, then repeating the process, I was told it would take up to 10 days for the investigation.
9 days later, I check the account. They had reimbursed my money, and then withdrew it again for some reason? Upon making another call, again waiting over an hour in the queue, I am informed that they need more documentation and will not refund anything until hearing from this non-existent company. I was livid, seeing as I had no one inform me of anything till I had to call in. Apparently now it will take up to 45 days, and apparently, will be closed with no payout if they do not hear from the company. Upon calling the “company” phone number supplied by the agent, it went straight to voicemail, which was full, probably from all the other people they have scammed. It’s ridiculous that I can’t get my money back that I desperately need right now even though I was told I would have it over a week ago. I will be contacting an attorney friend if I am not reimbursed immediately.

I have have had this card for a number of years. This year on February 19th, 2019 I called with a dispute of a transaction. I explained to them the situation. Always that my income tax refund was going to be direct deposited into this account. And if I would be able to get to it. The woman "who I could hardly understand" stated that I would be able to retrieve my cash. Here it is March 6, 2019 and I'm not able to retrieve cash, account has been blocked and I have not been able to get thru to customer service since my last interaction with them. No money, can't pay bills and sit on hold for hours. REALLY!! Shame on this company.

Found 2 unauthorized charges on my account today and tried calling the number. Spent 30 minutes on the phone only to be hung up on as soon as they picked up. Called back again and spent another 30 minutes on hold and finally got someone only for them to tell me that they can't do anything and transferred me to another department for me to be on hold for another 40 minutes with no one answering. Have had them since August and before that for several years. One charge is for a atm balance check. Never use that since I have the app. The other is for a transaction today but haven't used the card for a couple of days. The app shows a pending charge but the service rep said there was no pending showing on my account. I've got a deposit coming in tonight. Will be getting my money off the card immediately when it hits and then closing it out since I can't get any info from them for not picking up.

I called the customer service to change my address since that option was blocked on the online account management portion. There is a two step verification process before I can access my account online, still because of security reasons they claim I am unable to change my address online. I needed to call customer service. I called customer service who told me that because of security reasons I needed to take a picture of my drivers license and a current bill in my house that shows my new address and email it to them, an account manager would review my request and decide if one my address would be charged on my account and if a new card would be sent to me. This process could take up to two weeks. I called multiple time to check the status of my request and the customer service representatives hung up on me multiple times.
This company know that majority of their customers are ** so they come up with these ridiculous clause, if there’s online access which has verification process, customers should be able to change their address online as advertised. This is the worse card and I’ve never been so humiliated and made to feel like a second class citizen and denied access to my funds. Please do not buy this card! You will regret it! Stay away from this one.

We called to find our money. IRS says they sent it to Metabank. Metabank sent to you on the 22nd. We have given a trace number to your customer service reps and been told we will have to wait 48 hours. 48 hours is unacceptable. You make a mistake cant find my money and I have to wait. Called 4 different times to speak with a supervisor and was hung up on all 4 times. I will be filing a formal complaint with the IRS. I will also make sure I tell everyone who will listen NOT to trust you with their deposits. Just a hunch of thieves in my opinion. 48 hours to TRACK something you have the number for is ridiculous and not at all good customer service.

My card expired February 2, 2019. They so called tried to send me replacement cards but the cards kept returning back to them. I checked my address online and called to verify my address. It’s March 1, 2019 and I still haven’t received my card. My last call to them was on February 27, 2019 to let them know it still hasn’t showed up. The so called supervisor said he will send it with FedEx. I asked to have a tracking number so I can see what’s the problem. He said I can’t have it for security purpose. I wanted to call and check to see if they sent my card and they will not answer any of my calls. They keep directing me to IRS refund status stuff. I have money on my card that I need and from the sounds of it I can’t get it at all. They are robbing me. I can’t even see if they are sending the card or not. It says error every time I pull it up. Walmart advertises that loading your taxes on the prepaid Wal-Mart MoneyCard is faster and easier. My money was supposed to be deposited 3 days ago and I have yet to receive it. I had to do some research because nobody seems to know where the money went but the max limit that can be loaded onto the card is $2999. If your tax refund exceeds that then they will not post that money to your account. I will never again use the Wal-Mart MoneyCard.

I had my refund deposited into this MoneyCard and when I activated it... Of course it asked for a pin, which I provided. Now so have no access to my money because everywhere I go my PIN is “incorrect.” (Which is not btw) I go online and it tells me to change my pin on the Walmart MoneyCard APP. I download it and nothing there on how to change it. I call customer service and like always I barely understand what they are saying... I keep being told to go on the app. I CAN'T CHANGE THE PIN ON THE APP!! It’s so frustrating having to need money, have some but not being able to access it.

Before I got my refund my card worked perfect. The day I got my refund they locked my card when I tried to use atm. I need my money to pay rent today and I cannot access my card. Been with them for over a year, all of a sudden without warning they locked my account because of a policy change without letting me know. I have tried to get a personalized card from them several times. Not of them made it to me and now I'm on hold for over 2 and a half hours and still no access to my hard earned money or to my account to do another address change. Do not use this service.

On Feb 17, 2019, my husband called Walmart MoneyCard to dispute a transaction on his account and his card was block and he has no access to his money and we are unable to pay bills and buy groceries. He has called the 1-877-937-7537 everyday since, several times a day and each time, and his calls have gone unanswered, he is unable to speak to a customer services person. He was on hold up to 2 hours, his calls get dropped and he calls back and on hold for another 2 hours. He is unable to resolve the issue by calling so he used the Help button on the website and sent three emails and he has not received a response. I also have the Walmart prepaid card and when I call for my account, I assisted within 10 minutes of my call. We are frustrated and we don't know what to do at this point to resolve this issue. Getting this card has been a nightmare! I just spent over 1 hour on hold (I finally hung up) to figure out why my purchase was declined when there is over $4000.00 on the card! This is the 3rd time in a week this has happened! They won't mail your personalized card to a PO box so you never receive it, so the only thing you can do is make in store purchases. If you request a new personalized card they shut off the temporary card and you have no access to your money!! You can't withdrawal from an atm...you are basically screwed! Their customer service sucks, most of the time they just hang up on you!

I tried to change my address online but you would have to contact customer service to update a your address for the first time which was understandable. I emailed my documents for security purposes as advised. And not only have I not received my card in three weeks but I’m still getting the runaround and long holds from the customer service reps advising to wait additional business days past the days of the required (2 business days review) by their “back office team.” It should not take this long for a debit card. I’m about to close the account and switch my funds over to my other bank account. I would advise to not even bother getting this card. It’s a massive headache waiting to happen.

I purchased the card for someone when I saw in Walmart store that they charge only 1$. After coming to home I found that there is a fine print of 5$ per charged to the person who is received the card. I decided to return the card. Standing in Walmart for about half hour I found that they cannot return the card even with the receipt and original packing of the card.
I ended up activating the card (thus paying 5$ *fine print fee). Surprised to see that they are asking about social security number for a gift card??? I didn't provide the ssn and tried using the card online/in person at Walmart at other retail store. It denied every time. I tried to call the number on the back of card. The computer on the phone asked for my card number and social security. Since I didn't provide social on the activation I couldn't get any person on the support. I email the support team. After fifth day I received response and the person who responded even didn't look at my problem and advised me to go to the store and try again.

I had my taxes sent on this card. I cannot access it because I forgot my pin. SO I downloaded the app to change my pin. Under ACCOUNTS there's supposed to be a "manage money app", however, this is not showing and I downloaded it on both an android and iPhone. THey said I can open a case that would take 24 hours. The following day still NO AVAIL, even though they promised the pin could be reset in 24 hrs. THey asked me to wait yet another 24 hours after I spoke to a manager and threatened to have my lawyer on this case. This is completely unfair. Not to mention they blocked my card after "unusual spending patterns" when the card is brand new. I need access to my money ASAP. If a representative could follow up that would be greatly appreciated. I called the back of card number already and this is STILL what I have to deal with.

Notice unauthorized transactions on my account on February the 10th. I immediately call to let them know someone was using my card. The rep was not very good or knowledgeable about the situation. She started the dispute. Went through the entire process to find that she was disputing the correct retailer but on the incorrect date. So she said I would have to wait until transaction for those items to post before I can file a dispute. So I call back the following day. Did my dispute for those transactions on the 10th. I call back in a few days to get the status of my dispute and was told that I had two disputes. That the first dispute were my charges and I was trying to dispute them so they denied both claims. Call back and explained to the rep that I was only disputing charges from the 10th and that their rep had messed up the dispute. I was only disputed charges from the 10th.
I submitted the dispute form explaining the charges that were not mines. Just because you have used a merchant in the past doesn't make all charges from them yours or authorized. Less than a week later they have denied the charges again and provides no reason as to why. That's OK I've been dealing with this bank for 2 years never had an issues and never disputed any transactions. If you can't stand behind your clients when some illegal activity occurs on their card you're no good to your customers so I'll be closing my account and taking my business elsewhere.

I am very frustrated. Coming from a low income home, it is very hard to justify these actions. I am currently using the temporary card I was provided, I sent for a new official card and it was never received, so I continue to use the temp card. My taxes were deposited to the card and Green Dot bank which is the bank for Walmart MoneyCard automatically flagged my account and blocked it. I tried to purchase some coins on a Facebook app that was blocked. It has been on my transaction account as pending for 12 days. I have called customer service atleast 8 times and they give me NO answers. I ask simple questions and get no answers and can't even understand them when they do reply. This has been the worst customer service experience ever and trust me I've had some bad ones!
Once my money is refunded back to my account I'm cutting this card up! It's horrible! I simply asked what amount and when will it be not pending and be back on my account. She then says, "If this is your tax refund, wait!" WHAT!!! I have been arguing with you for almost 37 minutes and you still don't know what I'm talking about? She had my account pulled up in her face! These people are terrible... The customer service is awful. I am definitely reporting them to the BBB as soon as I send this. Would not recommend this card to my worst enemy!

I am seeing a lot of people talk about what I am about to complain about. I just got my tax refund early this morning and my card was blocked. I called the customer service hotline which was no help at all claiming that there was suspicious activity and it would take two business days to check out and I had to send my ID. I have sent my ID 12 times and I keep receiving an email that it is not legible. It's very clear and legible. I called like 5 times, this is frustrating. I have things to do for me and my children like moving into my new place. They gave another option which would take 5 business days. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I WILL NEVER USE THIS CARD AGAIN AFTER THIS IS RESOLVED!!!

I also like some thought it would be a good idea to get my income tax deposit on this card. WORST MISTAKE!!! IRS site says money has been deposited and no money to be found. I will never do it again. Stick to a traditional bank. They advertise that you get your deposits quicker but I don’t see this happening. This is already a nightmare.

The only reason I chose this card in the first place is because when you walk into Walmart there is a HUGE YELLOW sign saying you can receive your tax refund on this card. Calling the number on the back of the card is a waste of time. The agents must not be able to understand English very well because they typed my address incorrect and got my hard copy card sent back, The same one they assured me would make it to me with no worries!!! So now when I try and call to speak to a agent they say the city and ZIP code that I am telling them is different than what they have on file so they cannot help me since my ID verification cannot be verified. And that they will NOT transfer me to a manager or supervisor!!
To make it even worse the SAME DAY my TAX REFUND hit they BLOCKED my card!!! WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Now I have to wait TWO business days for them to "REVIEW". THIS IS HORRIBLE! I have children that need to eat and bills that need to be paid but I am without my money due to their constant mistakes! I am very upset and of course I cannot speak to an agent because "My card is blocked" and "Waiting pending approval of my ID I sent" and no agent can help me at this time. So very upset!

I don't have access to MY money until I receive the second card they are sending because the first one never came. Then there's a 15 dollar fee to have it expedited. Out of nowhere, 3 transactions in a different State were charged to my account. Until this day I do not know how. I wrote them about it, they eventually credited my account. The letter I received from them did not explain what happened, and why it happened. When I spoke with a representative, she acted/assumed that I had given my card, password and everything away...NOT TRUE. I am still totally confused about how these charges were made. Anyway, after they credited my money back, the same thing happened the very next day after they put back the funds? This time, my claim was denied? I am so disturbed by this because I don't work, or have any consistent income. I just turned 60 years old in January. Unbelievable. So come to find out, these type of cards are designed to rip you off! No fraud protection or anything. You're just another consumer being capitalized on.

I gave my address through the automated system for my second card and instead of putting B it put D. I never received my personalized card and all 3 times I called they telling me they sent it even after I verify my address and tell them my apartment letter. Today was my fifth time calling now because their system is messed up I have to send in a copy of light bill or driver’s license and wait 2 days and still have to wait 7 to 10 business days after that for my card. My family and I have been homeless for a few years now. We have been using Wal-Mart MoneyCard since before losing everything we had and we love the card. Getting kicked from one place to another requires changing addresses. Which we have been able to do with no issues until recently. Now it's required I have to show a utility bill. Homeless people do not have utility bills. Tried to explain this and they can't seem to comprehend. Guess no one can unless they end up living this way as well. Updated on 02/26/2019: For the last 3 years I have used the Walmart MoneyCard as my primary bank account. My check gets direct deposited to this account. Seven days ago I swiped my card to pay Dentist for services rendered (over four thousand dollars). My card was declined! I go online and see that my balance is twice what I need to pay bill. There is a note on my account (frozen). I am suppose to go to secure site and download my I.D. The site will not let me download my I.D. It has been seven day. I have not heard anything from Walmart. I don't know what to do. I have called a consumer 50 times. I have emailed Walmart 3 times every day. Please help me. Does anyone have any ideas.

Used this card for a while, was great. 2 weeks ago I got my paycheck direct deposited every 2 weeks for almost 2 years, from the same job, same account. This got my account "blocked". Called multiple times, been on hold for up to 2 hours, have never gotten through to an actual person. Have emailed 3 times, gotten 1 back, this is it. "Hi DAKOTA, we understand how this matter concerns you. Your account was blocked for security reasons. For further assistance, please call us at (877) 937-4098. Thanks, The Email Support Team." I replied that I have called, and just need to know how to unlock my account, as I have $1100 on there that I can now not use. Thank God my work is understanding, and basically reissued my paycheck. Tried to reverse the DD, and was unsuccessful. I now have to pay this back, but it at least kept me from eviction.
Customer service is horrid, it is a runaround. I am so disappointed, as I had read other horror stories, but always had good interactions. "Couldn't happen to me, they must have been unlucky." Well here I am, now 3 weeks without access from funds. Waiting an entire WEEK (submitted Feb 13th, reply received Feb 20th) just to get a 'call this number' email. Save yourself from heartache and headache. Believe the unfortunate cases. It CAN happen to you and most likely it WILL happen to you. How unfortunate. I have hope I might see my $1100 one day again, but I also had hope that I would never end up in this situation. Buyer beware!

I've had my prepaid card for a long time with no issues except that you can't speak to a representative that can clearly speak English!! Problem #2, I dont remember the address, phone number associated with the card when I first bought it because my number has changed twice and I moved. I cannot update info without going online, but I cant do that without the old info so it's an argument to inquire transaction history every call.
#3 Problem now is that I have a dispute on a charge through Amazon and I am getting told I basically can't dispute it without my money being held up for a ridiculous amount of time. Then they inform me that two OTHER refunds Amazon is putting back on my card will be denied because Walmart MoneyCard isn't allowing any refund anymore. I was told I have to contact Amazon and ask them to refund me via cash (impossible)!!! I am an online shopping and it is why I have the stupid card to begin with!!! They basically will be losing a customer and I will share this info with all of their customers!!!

I have had an horrible experience with this place! These people are crooks and they take your money and they don't care what you have to do or what you have going on. I FILED a dispute notice. I said I FILED for an transaction with AT&T and I spoke with AT&T also for a dispute so basically they were both supposed to be working on getting my money back. This was 2/14/19 then on 2/21/19 I get my refund from AT&T. There would no longer be any point to keep the dispute open with Walmart at this time. So I try to go deduct the money and was told "not authorized" at the registers. I call them and waited on hold for about an hour and they tell me my account was closed. I NEVER gave them consent to close my account. I have money sitting in my account that they have kept me from using because the account is so-called "closed" but then later that evening a merchant was still able to deduct money from the account they claimed was closed.
They kept me away from taking my own money but let the merchant take it with no explanation as to how they could do that if the account was CLOSED. Then I was told the account was temporarily locked until they complete the dispute. There is no point for the dispute if the money has come back from the merchant!!! They can't speak English. They transfer you all over, I hate the people that work here and the card itself! They also charge a hidden $2.50 fee for using the atm on top of the atm fee from the actual ATM. I am switching to an actual bank. Screw Walmart Green Dot card. I better get my money back or they need to unlock this account so I can get the money that is owed to me ASAP!

Updated on 02/26/2019: Okay people I closed my Walmart MoneyCard account before my taxes came. Well me thinking it will go back to SBBT or the IRS. No it’s sitting in my closed account. Therefore I called them and asked them how can I get my money. Well they said email front and back of my ID and my bill. I did that to no avail. Kept calling. Been holding for 2 and a half hours and then they hang up. Then finally I talk to a supervisor. She tells me to have the person who sent my refund to request the money back in which that was SBBT because they had to get their fees but then she said have the IRS request it and they have to have my routing and account number plus the amount. Well the amount is different since SBBT took fees.
Then I called today and a rep says I didn’t need to ID verify. He will have corporate call me. Then at the end of the call he said his supervisor going to call me. At this point I don’t want a supervisor to call. I want corporate to call 'cause I want my money. This is ridiculous. Then none of the reps speak English, they don’t understand us or we don’t understand them so they hang up. Oh yeah Consumer Affairs is no help. They reply with this generic message that they are going to investigate. But they have not contact me back as of yet. I keep calling the number that was left in the email by Daniel but no one answers and you can’t leave a voicemail. This is a nightmare.
Original Review: I will never deal with these lying foreign folks again. My tax return is in my Walmart account and I can’t access it. They told me to send in my ID and a recent bill. I did, after hanging up on me a few times after having me holding on for 3 hours at a time. The supervisor comes on the line to tell me the IRS have to request my refund back. Now why did they tell me to send my ID and they would mail me a check. Then the IRS have to have the right dollar amount in which sbbt took out their fees so the IRS won’t have the correct dollar amount, this is bull crap. I will never recommend Walmart MoneyCard to no one. Representatives lie and hang up on you.

I have had a Walmart MoneyCard account for almost a year now. My tax return was deposited into this card today, and when I went to access even my Walmart MoneyCard app, it says my account it blocked. I called and sat on hold for an entire hour, to be connected to someone who I could hardly understand, telling me my account will be unblocked within 24 hours but no real explanation why. I’m a single mother of two kids and I was relying on this money to be there today.
I have read many reviews on this card since this happened and it seems like a lot of people are having their accounts blocked and it takes WEEKS to get their money. We’re talking over $5,000 here and it is literally the ONLY money I have because this is the only debit card I have. If this is not resolved ASAP, I’m not even going to mess around as will sue the crap outta Green Dot right away. There is no reason for this and I need my money. I have no gas in my car. I am not happy at all, and I can tell you I won’t be using this ** prepaid card again. Get your shot together and unblock my account or you’ll be seeing me in court very very soon.

I have used my Walmart MoneyCard for YEARS since I work at Walmart. This January my card expires and I did not receive my card. I called and they said they would have to cancel account and send me a new cars. My tax refund was coming so I told them once it comes in I will order a new one. NOW HERE WE ARE. Account closed. It says unable to reopen. But an email says to send my DL and they will review it. Mind you I just used my account a week ago and received my state taxes. I am upset. Way beyond upset since it says it will be sent back to the IRS then I will have to get a check from them. I am pulling ALL my money and closing even my other MoneyCard account. Forget this.

I purchased a Walmart MoneyCard for my 18 year old son, so he can get a feel of having a credit card. 1st of all, the customer service is Terrible! They make you call 1877-937-4098. I has to keep putting in the card number repeatedly, because it did not recognize it. (Same with the social) I have to listen to the same automated instructions repeatedly, and it's Extremely Difficult to get a live customer service representative to help you, not to mention, My card keeps declining when there is money on it. I tried to load more money on it, and it declined that too. The actual customer service representative at my LOCAL Wal-Mart told me that a lot of people have been having the same issues with their cards. So now, I'm stuck with a card that I cannot use, and money I cannot get off of it. This will be the last time I will ever get a prepaid money card from Wal-Mart!!!

I called a month ago to inquire about tax refund deposit. I currently have one card where my paychecks get deposit weekly. I was informed that I could order an additional card separately to get my tax refund deposit onto. Well my deposit hits and all of a sudden my account is blocked! On the day my wife is scheduled to have surgery that we have to pay for up front! Multiple calls to customer service, multiple trips to the local Walmart Money center and nothing! I’m in tears as I type this because Walmart is failing my ailing wife! I’m told I have to wait 48hrs to hear back from someone and I don’t have any time to give to waiting. I’m need my funds now!

We have had the Walmart MoneyCard for a while now and both my husband and myself have had our paychecks direct deposited with no issues for some time. So when Walmart heavily advertised depositing the tax refunds to the account and getting the money faster it seemed like the logical thing to do. This however has been a nightmare! The money was deposited but they immediately placed a block on our account pending further review. I called in to see what was going on and spoke with someone who I could barely understand who said there was nothing he could do about it because there was suspicious activity. The only activity was the tax refund deposit for that day.
Meanwhile all of our money for the week — both of our paychecks, the refund, and any extra are in the account and neither of us can put fuel in our cars or get groceries. I need gas in my car to go to work today (I travel for work so it’s necessary). As soon as I can today I will be contacting someone to file complaints as this is completely unacceptable and their advertising is misleading on so many levels.

Do NOT! Get your tax return applied to the MoneyCard. They will reject the refund and you’ll be left waiting. They will also block your card so you can’t use it at all. Whatever you do do not use this service.

A while back I had $365.11 fraudulently taken off my card from some place in India. I had called and told them this and their response was to send me a new card. They said they didn't send cards to PO boxes so I had them send it to my friend's address and it never showed up. When I called them back they gave me the runaround wanting documents of my current physical address and my PO Box plus my driver's license which I gave them all the information they asked for. Then they turned around and still after telling me twice that they would expedite by FedEx undercards me with my balance on it. Didn't want to send it to me because the first address that they asked me for which was my friend's address needed to be shown by document that it was my billing address which I explained to them that I never lived at that address.
And I was asked to just give an address so I gave my friend's address and I told them it was my friend's address and they were okay with it. Now they're saying that they have a new policy that they have to have documents but I asked him to look at the document before my friend's address as to my very first address and they refused to do that and hung up on me. So basically they're stealing $365.11. What do I do? It's not their money. It's mine and I need it to pay my bills. I'm a single mother with three kids and I'm on disability.

Walmart Money Card reversed all transactions on the 10th business day of my dispute. Not a speedy resolution by any means, and I will never use this card again, but I am happy to report after much anxiety that my situation was resolved and all is well with my account and funds.

I have used the Walmart MoneyCard for about a year and a half with no issues. I get my direct deposit through this card because I find the ease and nominal fees to be great. However, on Feb 16, 2019 my card information was stolen and several purchases over $1400 from Dubai were debited from my account. My whole account was completely drained.
I quickly opened a dispute and I was asked to send in a letter with more information. I sent in a statement and attached a police report as well. I called to get an update on my dispute, and the reps are friendly, but totally unhelpful. All they can say is that they will get back to me in 10 days. And after 10 days, IF I am eligible, they will offer a credit. I asked what determines if you are eligible for the provisional credit? The rep said he didn't know. At a traditional bank they give you a provisional credit while they investigate. After reading these reviews, I have completely lost faith in Walmart MoneyCard and after the results of my claim, I will be closing the account.

I’ve had a terrible experience with these people. I’ve called him over 15 times trying to get my address changed and no one seems to know how to do it. I can’t get a card sent to me because it’ll go to the old address so now I have no access to my money and the people at the call center will not transfer me to anybody that can help me.

Went on a cruise and came home to being almost a 1000 Dollar in the negatives. When we called the cruise line they asked us to get a fax number or email for the Walmart money card so they could release the holds due to them being paid and satisfied. When we called support we were told they did not have that information then was told they had I virus and the info couldn't be found. And then had a lady tell them just dial customer service and press 5 didn't work. So due this we are taking our 10 plus years business elsewhere. Avoid this card at all cost.

I been using this MoneyCard for 4 to 5 months. Never had issue until I wake up today to check. My account tells me it's a block. I called. Guy tell my account being monitored and I can't access my money. I just got deposit this morning to pay bills or feed my family. I didn't get a warning of anything. Said I have wait 24 hours. I am single parent. How can they do that? All I use the card for is to receive my job deposits. Plus on top of that my taxes gonna get rejected cause of the blocked.

My account got blocked for no reason without notice. Said there was suspicious account activity but couldn’t give me any answers to why, I have to direct deposits coming in my tax refund and my husband paycheck which we now have no access to, can’t pay rent or bills or nothing. They blocked everything. They won’t even give me any information to when my account will be unblocked! DONT USE THIS CARD!!

My information from the Money Network Exceed card issued from Meta Bank was stolen over two months ago. I traced the usage to South Africa. I was assured that I would receive a refund asap. I'm about to have surgery & need my money now. I have called every three days as they asked. Still waiting & I'm about contact our local news & a attorney. I do not recommend this card or bank.

I have never been more frustrated about something in so long until this happened. I have the app and decided to take a picture and deposit it since it would take it one to five days, which I am okay with. I called them the day of and they told me it would be 10-15 business days and it should be released on the 25th. This is my paycheck. I am a single mom and funds are hard to get by with already. I've had to put off a number of my bills because of this, and the fact that the pending status cannot be cancelled so I would be able to have direct access to my check to deposit at a Walmart like I always did. I am LIVID. I don't understand how this bank works. But you really need to reevaluate how it works with customers.

I had this card for about 2.5 years and always used credit. And recently it stop working as credit. Where it usually works as is now declining. Customer service is zero help, they hang up on you. And they won't provide a valid reason. Very unhappy.

My husband and I share a card. We both have the same last name of course! And I'm being told my taxes will be rejected & blocked due to the fact he is named on the card. Every time we tried to call which is several they tell use to add me as an authorized user and they can't do that over the phone only online. We tried 3 different ways and nowhere can we find to add me. This is so crazy!!! I can see if it was a complete different name but the same last name and several phone calls later! I will never use this card again if this doesn't get resolved! Like now!!!

I have had my card for years. Never had a problem. Then I got my son one for his Tax refund, and here the problems start. They locked it up until the regular card came in, but we had the IRS deposit hitting Monday morning and card came in Tuesday. Now it's not showing his deposit. Called in and no help. My question is his deposit on hold or been rejected. Because if rejected he will have to wait 12 weeks to get it now.

I bought a new Walmart MoneyCard to make a car payment. My bank card had broken, so while waiting for the replacement to arrive, I needed to make a car payment. I bought the card and put above the amount needed to cover any fees or charges. I registered the card and checked the balance, everything seemed fine. I then called the finance company and tried making a payment. It kept declining the charge. I even waited a few hours and called back and it was still declined. What is the purpose of a card that can't be used. I had a similar situation happen last year and used a Green Dot card and had no problems. This is ridiculous.

I got the card for my pension to go on it every month. However, someone entered in my zip code wrong. This prevented me from being able to access my cash. Once my identity was verified they still told me the mistake that had been made could not be corrected and I could not access my money. I could barely understand the people I was talking to. They could not speak clear English. They hung up on me twice. The bottom line is you DO NOT want to fool with the Walmart Money Card because they will hold your money hostage and you won't be able to access it. Based on the reviews I have read this is a common occurrence with them.
