I have had my Walmart Green Dot card for about 2 years now and have been getting my direct deposit also. Unfortunately my card was stolen over the weekend. I reported it stolen and removed my direct deposit. Somehow my job still sent my check to the stolen card. I have been trying to get my funds off the card for two days. I can't speak with anyone without my card number. I can't just ask a live person how I can retrieve my funds. I am really unhappy that I am left with no help from their Green Dot service and still have not received an email or a callback. I am a mother of two and my kids can't eat and your company is not helping me at all. I really need someone anyone that will be able to give me some answers on how I can get my cash.

Walmart MoneyCard is a scam. They refuse to release my money back to me that I need for my kids personal needs. I spoke with almost 8 supervisors and they all keep telling me no more than 7 business days I should receive the money to my account. This is causing a lot of emotional distress.

I have been using Walmart MoneyCard to get my paycheck deposited for 2 years now. All of sudden they froze my account and need me to upload pics of my info. Well I did several times. No problem but every time I call to tell them I uploaded the info I get someone rude who simply says "we never received it" even though I sent it correctly. They tell me wait at least 5 days. This is my hard earned money for my daughter they are screwing with. It's not right.

I have three accounts with the Walmart MoneyCards, personal, pets and bills. The sign in requires email verification... this requires an email code being sent, often this feature does not work, SMS messages have NEVER been received (T-MOBILE). Customer service is nonexistent. The cards are very low quality (thin) difficult to read and break quickly. I have a Bluebird account that is used to provide money for a family member, for several years that has work without issue. I am canceling ALL my Walmart Cards and changing over to Bluebird.

I have had this card almost 2 years. The pros of the card is you get direct deposit faster, if you don't have the money in your account then the charge won't go thru which helps me budget, and also the fact that I kind have a savings account where I can stash and un-stash money without having a charge. The cons of the card is that it is not accepted every where for payments or car rentals, that sometimes I have had errors sending and receiving money to someone else who has a walmart money card and also that there is sometimes a limit on how many times you can stash and unstash money.

I've been using the Walmart MoneyCard for my social security payments for years. Im very disappointed how hard it is to speak with management to address my issues. Im disabled, phone off because payment was due Oct 1st rent due all my money is locked. I had a very stressful and anxiety filled 4 days. I need my money to get to my dr appointment. Im a very sick person. I don't need to be going through the unnecessary terrible customer service. I need this resolved or I will have to resort to taking legal action.

Updated on 04/15/2019: Months back I had $500 of fraudulent charges on my card at Trader Joe's and Sam's Club in San Diego California. Problem is, I live in Colorado and do not travel to that sorry excuse for a state. Well Walmart did reimburse me the money that was charged to my card. Well fast forward to 4/1/2019. I am sitting at my desk at work and I receive a text message about my card being used in Duluth GA at a store call ADK Town LLC. I have never been to Georgia and have no plans on going. I have not received any update on my dispute and was told it is still under investigation. If Walmart and Green Dot Bank have issues with ensuring customers do not have to worry that this will not happen maybe the partnership should be dissolved. I have contacted the FBI about this situation and was promised that it will be looked into.
Original review: I have had a Walmart MoneyCard for a few years. This has not been a very pleasant experience for me. First a little over 2 years ago my card was cancelled due to it being erroneously expired by the company. I still had one year to go before the card expired. I had to wait for a new card and had to pay late fees on other bills I used the card for. Second most recently (9-21-18) I had charges totaling over $400.00 in California and Alabama. Keep in mind I live in Colorado. I have never been to Alabama and have not set foot in California since 1991. In my transaction history it shows I was in Colorado at the time of these fraudulent transactions. I purchased a coffee from McDonald's on the days these FT's occurred.
When you call in your dispute you can hardly understand the Support Personnel because their English is horrible. I have yet to find out if I will receive any of my money back. Advice to you. Go to your nearest bank and open an account. At least there you can deal directly with one person in trying to figure it out. I do not believe that I will be getting any of my hard earned money back.

Never a problem with any deposits or transactions. Deposits day early. Only error seen was service charge last month, which I don't think I should have with direct deposit. I like the stash option also, with prizes. I would recommend service to other. Have had no customer service interactions. I also enjoy ease of depositing money to card at Walmart.

I recently moved and when moving I lost my card in the move. I went online to change my address and order a new card. Once I got it I got an email saying my card is blocked and I need to submit my picture ID to get it unblocked on a website. I have now tried over 20 times and for whatever reason they are not accepting my picture, not my ID but just the pictures themselves. I've tried to call every number I have phone but no one can talk to me. Now my direct deposit from my job has gone on to it and I can't access it and no way to fix this account.

Love the stash feature. Very easy to use. Love the early release of funds so I get my check sooner. Fee waiver is great also. App is also very easy to use and navigate. Love that my husband and I can both have the app.

One of the best cards in America. I would recommend this card to anyone. Low fees and love the prize drawing. Would love to see colorful designs put on the card. Would like to be able to get two cards for someone in my family like a daughter or son or husband link to my one card.

I really like the stash feature. It helps me to budget The automatic deposit is good. I like that it lets me know when a purchase has been made. I can use it like a credit card. No monthly fee waived if I deposit over a certain amount of time is good also!

I recommend this especially if use Wal-Mart often, cash rewards are good, every year you can redeem. Only bad thing is ATM withdrawal fees are harsh even at Wal-Mart, prize chances and vault is great! Get paid 2 days early is great also!

The only issue I have with the card is, the hidden fees. When I purchased the card it was free to add or withdraw money, now it charges me at every transaction. I paid extra for this benefit, but now I'm still paying for it, just not any longer getting it.

I like the fact that they started a saving account. It really helps me save money. The MoneyCard is really starting to step up. I’m super happy with my card right now. But one thing I wish they would change is the customer service. They suck.

I am so thankful for my Wal-Mart debit card. First; it has helped me repair my credit. I had a horrible history of overdrafts with bank cards. With the Wal-Mart card this is never an issue. 2nd; I had been able to load it from any location. This got me through times with my children moving from home. Not as easy to load, but still a great deal. 3rd; direct deposit. Money right there, on time, every time. 4th; the Vault feature. I LOVE being able to LOCK up my money. I like everyone have had my card hacked. Most ever taken from me was $1.92, and it was back in 3 days as not a verified sale. 5th; I won my first Vault prize $25. Love it and tell everyone All the time. This is my card and Proud to carry it. Thank you so very much.

I love my card. Convenient and direct deposit and the stash or unstash is invaluable. I can use this card anywhere and don't have to worry about overdrawn fees because I can only spend what is on the card. I hope I never have to give up this great card.

I have been happy with Wmmc for the most part, there have been a few issues here and there but has been pleasant for the most part! It is easy to load at my local Walmart and I like that I can get my pay check and tax return as a direct deposit! And most of the time I get it early.

Where do I begin. I got this card a little over a year ago and was happy until about a week ago I lost my card. Reported it lost or stolen but while doing so changed my shipping address and that is when all hell broke loose. They put a block on my account and won't release it until I submit I.D. Calling customer service was no help at all. Every question I asked I was given the answer of "I Don't know." I was lied to on multiple occasions about getting a call back from agent id ** who was suppose to be a supervisor. All in all the card is not bad but their customer service is complete **.

So having the card is great, until I tried to pay a utility. My water went through right away but I tried to pay my FPL bill and at first went through on my FPL account but not my card account. I kept checking and checking the balance every day and it still didn't take out after 3 days. I had plenty in my account to pay this bill. This morning I check my FPL account and the payment has been returned with a 30$ fee added on for return payment. It said once I have the funds make a payment again. I have over $700 on my card so I know the money is there. I hope it doesn't happen again because then I will be charged $60 on my FPL bill plus my actual balance. The cards been great beside this experience and I don't have the money to keep having these charges because Green Dot bank wants to reject the payment.

I have used Walmart MoneyCard for 8 years as direct deposit for my income. Recently over the past 2 years I have had 5 different occasions where I have had to close my account and change my card due to people in other states getting my information and taking several hundreds of dollars at a time. I have had enough and I will be going to a bank today. Also a lot of companies consider the Walmart card as a prepaid gift card so you cannot pay all your bills with it. I’m done!

So I got this card last year with direct deposit setup. I had no issues until recently. I disputed a transaction and they blocked my account. I never asked them to do so. When I called back to unblock it they said they can't. My direct deposit got rejected and the money in the account is stuck. I've called several times to try to resolve it but I hear the same explanation which doesn't make sense. I sent a photo of my ID to the email they gave me. They said it would take 5 days. It's been 13 days and no reply. I guess it's their way of stealing your money. Don't get this card. Don't pay attention to the star, they make you give one. 0 stars.

Do not go through them for your banking. I have been a loyal customer for 9 years. They don't care. Someone used my debit card in the amount of $708. I called and asked why I didn't receive text alerts telling me my card was being used. The rep said, "Someone dropped the ball." Yeah, you think? They are making me wait weeks to get my money back. They tell me I can't speak to the investigation team working on my dispute. I have sent them all the documentation from the four retailers where the unauthorized transactions were made. I've done all their work for them, and they still won't give me back my money. My house payment is going to bounce, as is my car tags all because someone used my card and spent my money. Walmart MoneyCard will do nothing to protect your identity or get your money back. You would be better off hiding money in your mattress; the security is better.

Love my cards. The only problem I've had with using them is the internet companies won't take them. I don't deal with local banks. My paycheck is direct deposited to my cards. I use one for certain bills, that way I don't have to worry about over spending and missing a payment.

I have been trying to unlock my new card for several days. I have followed the instructions and gotten the approved check twice yet my card remains locked. Because card is locked I can't contact customer service. Your customer service is already very rude and it's too late for me to stop my next direct deposit. I have asked to be emailed several times with no response yet. I will be contacting my VA regional office and dept of treasury concerning this matter. I want to close out my account and I have read that several other veterans have had similar problems with Walmart prepaid cards. This system is horrible.

I purchased a Walmart MoneyCard to load and pay bills online. I ended up getting direct deposit with it. I lost my card and have bills to pay. No way to access my money for 7-10 days. You should be able to buy a temporary one until the new one comes in.

At first everything was great. Then my card was stolen. There is absolutely no way to touch any of MY money until a new card arrives. What company as big as Walmart can’t find a solution for access to MY MONEY. Here is the kicker. I had checks that say Walmart money on them and it was declined at Walmart because they didn’t recognize the check. So I do not recommended it to anyone. Absolutely terrible. Get a bank that will allow you access to your money even without a card. This company won’t even allow you to write a check.

My husband had his paycheck direct deposit through this card, the first direct deposit went in fine no problem. This recent one was BLOCKED we don't know why! We have bills to pay and food we need to buy and still no word on what to do. I had to research a little and find out that you have to email your ID and case# to have it unblocked. They don't realize the inconvenience they are causing people. It's our pay our money! I know my husband will be closing this soon. Not happy Green Dot! Make it right it shouldn't take this long for people to get their own money!!!! Your procedure needs to change!!!

Have now sent 30 pics of my drivers license. Card was canceled without any knowledge afforded me. Can't use, charge or access my own money. I ordered a new card because my old one was cracked and broken and Walmart just decided to cancel my card with no reason... now I have a new card. Which, is also useless. Walmart demands I send pics of my license which I have now done at least 20 times in the last week... to no avail. Called them, and, of course, can't even talk to a person.
Plus, Walmart says that I have to wait two additional days from the time they receive my license pics for them to "research"... what a horrible joke. They won't even talk with me at my home number. They sent me a useless card. They are holding up funds of mine... I'm disabled with cancer, a single dad with a 14 yr old son and now I couldn't even pay my phone bill and other things like food... This is totally unfair, unjust and undignified behavior by this multi-billion dollar conglomerate... I say we all get together and file a class action suit about this nightmare.

I lost my card and they put a block on it. When I try to call or go online I'm asked for my 16 digit card number. Well if I had my card I'd put my 16 digit card number in. However, that's the whole reason I'm trying to contact them! I lost my card! Impossible to get a rep on the line without first putting the 16 digit card number in. Which I don't have. I push 0 and get hung up on. I had to open another account to get a new card. When I log into my old account I still have $ sitting there they are just swiping away at for their monthly fee. I wouldn't recommend this card.

So on Monday 9/17/18 I noticed that there were charges on my card made in New York and New Jersey, kinda odd since I live in Georgia, and I immediately called customer service. The lady I talked to was very helpful. She filed a investigation into the charges and gave me a case number), she can stopped my card and put in to have a new one sent out, also she let me know I would have to wait for the pending transactions to clear before they could be reported. Here is where the problems start:
I am unable to report the pending charges that have now cleared because when I attempt to use customer services I am told my card has a hold on it and it must be removed first, then it gives instructions I am unable to follow because it says my card is invalid. I also received an email (2 days later) informing me my card had a hold out on it due to them detecting suspicious activity (right, I contacted them 2 days before) with similar instructions that I was unable to follow since it took me to the exact place so now I am stuck with no way to communicate with them. I have sent an email to the Customer Service Department's email with all the disputed charges, but of course no response. I feel like I'm caught in a catch 22 situation that is rapidly going to go south since this card is how I get paid.

Then, when I sent a copy of my driver's license, that wasn't good enough either.. so they have my funds in their account and even though I have a new card, (my old one was cracked and broken). They still won't give me any funds. Lost out on several things I tried to purchase online because of this. Old Sam Walton is rollin' in his grave. Is the engineer on this train wreck in a coma or what???

Never had any issues with the card until now. I'll admit I rarely use the online site because I get text alerts on everything. Tomorrow I'm closing on a home and I need a monthly statement. I didn't remember my login info so it locked me out for 24 hours. Called the number on the card, they couldn't tell me if it was 24 hours, or 24 hours from the last time I tried to log in... It's been 2 days now and I'm still unable to go online and print out a monthly statement. They can't email or fax me one and can only get it to me in 7 days... But I need it tomorrow when we go to close on our home... uggghhh.

I have been a loyal customer now for three years. I do like receiving my direct deposit two days earlier. I lost my personalized card two weeks ago. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT CARD. Customer service told me the card arrived on September 15th. On yesterday I was told to give the card to the end of the day. It did not arrive. Today I was informed that my card would be sent to my address via FedEx. I offered to pay for overnight delivery. However, I was told that was not an option. On the complaint thread, a customer stated that he was allowed to pay for overnight delivery. I AM FURIOUS. If all goes well, I am set to receive my card on Monday. By then, it will have been close to three weeks with no access to my money!!!

I did like this card but I went to purchase some and money was put in the pending stage a 125 and it is being held by Green Dot for no reason and they say that's won't get it for a week. They say there is no way to release it. How in the hell is that possible? I will be closing both of my accounts because it looks like no one even cares if you are done wrong. So I would say don't they this card. I am giving 24 hours to let them TRY to resolve but I'm betting nothing will be done.

I stopped at a gas station, swiped my card at the pump and the screen kept saying “waiting” and never went through. So I went inside and explained my dilemma to the clerk and my card was swiped again I purchased only $15 worth of gas. Later I reviewed my account and an $85 transaction was pending on my account. I contacted Walmart MoneyCard explained my situation and they told me it is a preauthorization and merchant policy will hold my money up to 7 days. This is clearly unacceptable because this card doesn’t even allow credit transactions at the pump. You have to use a debit. What right do they have to hold my money on a charge that does not exist. I am very dissatisfied with this card.

For a few months all of my purchases using the Walmart MoneyCard on the Walmart.com website have been declined. Always says cannot authorize purchase. This is 99 percent of the time. I have only been able to use my WM MoneyCard a few times on the website. I have called the WM MoneyCard customer service. They have fixed this issue once but then it happened after that. I know this isn't my specific Walmart MoneyCard account as I have a roommate that also has this problem using his WM MoneyCard on the Walmart.com site. I have also seen other reviewers with this same issue.

Well I switched over to Green Dot MoneyCard 'cause of they 2 days early advertisement. So now I call them 'cause I haven't received my direct deposit from work and now all of sudden they haven't received my direct deposit. Funny how I've never had a problem with my other card before I switched. Called my employer they told me that they sent it to Walmart MoneyCard. If I don't receive my money today I will be reporting to the FDC and Walmart as well for partnering with a bunch of scammer from Green Dot allowing them to scam people out they hard earned money that we worked hard for.

Well let's see I changed my direct deposit to the Walmart MoneyCard cause I get paid every two weeks on a Wednesday. Well I'm suppose to have my money from my check and guess what customer service is saying they haven't received my direct deposit which I find suspicious because on Mondays when it's time to get paid on my other card that it was on it notified me that I had a pending deposit. Funny that these scammers from Green Dot don't have my deposit when I never had any problem with my other card. If I don't get my money today Green Dot will be reported to the FDC. I got proof of it all and Walmart will be too for selling these scammer's card and even partnering with these scammers.

I've used the Walmart Visa card for 5 yrs+. Getting my paycheck early is a great convince. However no more. I got my check as usual and was using my card fine, until 2 days after I got paid. I keep my money locked in the vault so I have to think twice before I spend it. Well I went to unlock it to get gas & some other necessities & it was blocked.
I called customer care which I waited over an hour for a rep so by then I was livid. They said it's put a block on it and to call them as well as send in a copy front and back of my license so I did. IRS said they did not maybe it was done as a precaution because someone else tried to use it. I told theirs rep that Walmart CC also wanted the front & back of my license she suggested I do that & call them back. So I did & after a 30min wait this rep would seemed a bit giddy about my money being held response was what's your case # I told him the other rep never gave me one but instructed me to send in a copy of my license which I did. This rep said you had to have a case # so I asked him why the other rep failed to mention that...
Here I sit with no money. I worked hard for my money. I have kids & grandkids I feed, house & support. The IRS never put a hold on my account. I'm missing almost $500. I feel as though Walmart is scaring me & trying to keep my money. I just spoke with a rep again today who said they now have my documents & are reviewing them. They have between today & tomorrow Mike #** I'd said. Meanwhile I have no money can't get my grandson's inhaler refilled, no gas, no food all because of Walmart money card customer care. I will get everyone I know who uses this card (and that's a lot) to discontinue using it once I get my money back.

I am trying to get my dispute claim processed. I stated that a long list of charges that were made on my card did not come from me. I am the only authorized user on my account. Due to the almost 1000.00 taken off of my card, I am behind on my power and rent, and my children and I have nowhere else to go. I was told that they would place a request to expedite this. I bought this card for my husband for Father's Day. I had no idea that Social Security number is required to activate this card. When I found that out, I asked for a refund. I was told the refund would come in 2 weeks. It never came. I called back and asked for a refund. Again, I was told the refund would come in 2 weeks. It never came. I called back to find out what happened to my refund. I literally called customer service 11 time in about 2 hours of time. Every time I spoke to a live person, I was transferred back to the same starting point with the automated customer service number. No one could help me. When I asked for a supervisor, I was not provided one. This is card is a scam! I just want my money back.

I called in about a transaction I didn’t recognize. Now, I’ve been using this card service for several years. They canceled my card before thinking it was fraudulent use during tax time when they saw and texted me it was deposited. Next, they canceled my card again today because I was looking at a transaction I didn’t recognize however, I saw it was being refunded as a pending deposit. The representative I spoke with canceled my card before I could ask if it could be expedited and then transferred me to an automated voice. I called back and spoke with a supervisor who I told exactly what happened and advised that she listen to the recording. I have to wait at least a week or two before receiving my card and the only way I can get it expedited is to call back tomorrow morning. Yes, they are waiving the fee but the point is how can you send a replacement card that has yet to be shipped on a Sunday.
I asked if they could cancel that one since the representative never even let me finish saying I needed it expedited however I have to call back and get fake apologies when the rep was at fault. She was not told to cancel my card and this the 3rd time to be exact this has happened. Once I receive my card I will NEVER do business with Walmart MoneyCard ever again! The representatives are rude and only wants you to listen to them. In this case, I did no wrong and the rep was too busy trying to get me off the phone. I’m so disappointed in this because they have yet failed me again and fail to realize I have deposits coming with bills to pay! They did not compensate me but only waived my fee of expedition that I have to call back tomorrow to do. Poor service and lack of care!

I have had fraud in this card three times and this will be the last. Please do not use this product. Find a bank to deposit your money. I am so pissed right now that Walmart would even be associated with something like this. Last night I had 3 purchase from Sam’s Club in San Antonio, called to report it, the rep said he was cancelling the card, come to find out this ** did not cancel my card and another charge came thru. Had to call back this morning to cancel the card again. Now I am out $400 because of their incompetent **. They are in the Philippines and could give a **.

I had $3000 fraudulently TAKEN from my account, charged in Valley Stream, NY over the course of a week! I live in Wisconsin and haven't left the state in years and NOBODY at Green Dot can seem to tell me what they can do, or if I'll ever see my money again. This is RIDICULOUS.
Updated on 09/20/2018: Original claim/dispute #** that was to be settled 9/28 was DENIED today, after providing all info via REGISTERED MAIL, and was signed for by them. Called and they said to I had to open new dispute and resend info... WHAT THE HELL? The new dispute number is **. I am on disability and my wife drives me to Physical Therapy EVERY Tuesday in Appleton. The police report I filed with Appleton/Grand Chute Police was ** with Officer **. I have not left the state in years... How did I manage to spend 2500 in VALLEY STREAM, NY from 9/7-9/10... buying sports shoes, etc. A security breach occurred and I NEED this RESOLVED.

I am a Walmart Money Network card user. Someone stole my card on Aug 12 and I filed a dispute. Upon calling, they told me that they had not received my faxed documents. Aug 28 is when they received it. (A fax sending 2 weeks later, NEVER HEARD OF THAT.) They told me it would take 10 days but that ten days turned into 45-90 days. Horrible service. And the rep called me a liar. I just want my stolen money back. THAT’S IT!!! I wouldn't recommend anyone use this card service. WALMART, GIVE ME MY MONEY PLEASE.

I reported my card stolen 7 days ago and still haven't received my replacement. I can't find any info on whether my routing # will be the same for my direct deposit and it's impossible to speak to an actual person since I don't have a card number to put in. I have funds on my card but am unable to access them because my card hasn't gotten here. It's really getting ridiculous! I love this card and the app and the fact that I am able to stash money into the vault but I HATE not being able to access my money at all. I really just need to find out what's going on.

I bought the Walmart MoneyCard and had money transferred onto it for my girlfriend's account because I was out of town. They put a hold on it and I was stuck out of town for an extra week and a half broke and hungry. They could not take the hold off of it 4 5 business days until I give him proof that it was correct. So I gave them the information they needed. I called him every day to make sure they had the right stuff. They said yes.
Then I called in on the 5th business day. They said they had the wrong paper. Had to wait another five business days so I waited 5 business days. Called him again even though I called every day until this day was up then tell me they just got it and that I never sent them anything prior to this so I sent it again. Wait a couple more days. They said they never got it then they got it set up at the wrong case number on it so use the old one. Now I'm stuck here waiting another five business days. At this point I don't even know what to do. I don't want to send them their email. I will never use this card again. I would recommend that nobody use it.

I woke up Tuesday morning to alerts from my Walmart money card being used in Georgia and I reside in Friendswood, Texas. These people were able to go into a bank and withdraw 1,000 dollars from my account as well as go to different eating places in a matter of minutes. I cancelled my card and was told I could not dispute the charges until the transactions posted. I was told over the phone it wouldn’t post until the 26th, but in actuality the charges posted on the 13th. I sent the dispute form by email as well as express mail to arrive in one business day. I have a tracker on the express mail and my letter is sitting in their P.O. Box awaiting pickup.
I have not seen or heard good reviews in the matter of the MoneyCard and I am hoping that they resolve this issue and credit my money back promptly. I have already filed a police report as well as notified the locations in Georgia where these unlawful charges were made. I physically have my debit card so I do not know how anyone was able to obtain my information. I was also told that my situation won’t be reviewed until the 26th. Because I was already wrongly quoted the time frame of when my transactions would post, I don’t believe it should take that long and I will continue to call or notify whoever I need to in order to get this all resolved ASAP.
Updated on 09/19/2018: I was waiting my dispute to be done on an unauthorized charge of 1,000 dollars that was made in Georgia while I reside in Friendswood, TX. I was just told that my dispute was denied because “I have a history of going to Georgia and that it is only 20 hour drive from where I live and I could have made the transaction myself.” That is utter blasphemy considering the fact that the minute I saw the charges pop up on my phone I immediately called to cancel my card as well as called the police and filed a police report. As far as my “history” in Georgia, I have been to Atlanta Georgia once in my life and the charges were posted from Morrow, Jonesboro, and Stockbridge. All places which I had never heard of or been to.
I asked for a supervisor whom name she gave is Ellen and she would not give her last name nor the name of the investigation team that does these supposed investigations upon these kind of matters. I have sent them my police report via express mail in the beginning of my dispute and she tells me to send everything again as if they will redo the dispute. Yet their logic in resolving my first review makes no sense. I will be filing another police report and or suit because I believe that this business is full of scammers. I do not intend to ever use Green Dot or Walmart MoneyCard again.

I called customer service and was told the computer locked my card due to unusual activity... period and my account was closed. And I could never use another Walmart card service again in life! I had to play with the automated system for 30 minutes to get a live person... and was told the computer closed my account with no explanation to what was unusual activity! And there nothing to be done and no one to talk to... DON'T USE THIS CARD IF YOU WANT A STRESS FREE LIFE.

I bought the card so I can buy an airplane ticket with a load of an amount of 500 dlls. When I try to deposit the rest for the amount that needed it was declined, when I registered it said that only I can spend it at store, so thought it was because the card it's a temp, but know, I send an email. And they just told that they couldn't verify my personal information, and that was it. No personalized card will be issued and no further deposit, in other words, they only want me spend the money at Walmart. That's illegal, my personal information is legit, I haven't had problems before. With my personal info, I am a born USA citizen...

Be aware. Walmart charges $5.00 monthly fee for the WMC just to keep it open. Which it means if you have funds and do not use them, they will slowly disappear as they charge their monthly fee. Walmart claims the card is not a "Gift Card" but a debit card which works the same way as a back debit card would. If this is what you need, then you have nothing to worry about but if you are in need of a gift card, you may want to reconsider using this option.

BEWARE!! DO NOT GET A MONEYCARD. My account was hacked on 9/6/18. I contacted them the SAME day and filed a dispute by phone. I was told to email dispute form, which I did on 9/7/18 TWICE... I call to follow up, they claim they never received it. Very frustrating so on 9/10/18 I just opted to send it Next Day Air by the postal service, which was set to arrive no later than 9/12/18 (tracking number includes real time updates) at about $25 for postage. I wake up today 9/12/18 to an email saying my dispute was denied. How when it has not even been a week since the claim was first filed. I'm very upset that Walmart MoneyCard is a scam that NEVER investigated my claim. So now I'm out $25 not including the $250 that the hackers stole. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE WALMART MONEYCARD!!!

I have used the money card from Walmart for years but today will be my last day and I urge anyone else who uses it or is thinking about using it to run the other direction! Or at least don’t use the vault option they give you to hold your money. I put aside a certain amount of money for an upcoming bill I was going to have to pay and when it came time for me to transfer the money from the vault back to my available balance it kept giving me an error processing my request. I was on a time limit to get this paid so I called the customer service where I’m told there is nothing they can do because they are currently updating their system and my money won’t be available until a certain time. Excuse me!?!? Since when can an establishment dictate when you can spend your own money??? MAJOR INCONVENIENCE AND MIGHT I ADD AGAINST THE LAW TO WITHHOLD SOMEONE ELSE’S MONEY!!
I’ll be writing a formal complaint and cutting this card up today once I get money off of it!! Never again will I use Walmart MoneyCard and I’ll tell everyone who will listen not to either!! Received a $50 Walmart Moneycard as rebate for a Kenwood purchase. I activated and attempted to use the card at Walmart. I was declined. I tried to register a username online to check for any fraudulent transactions and the page runs you in circles and doesn't accept the login I just created. I call and the robot says I have a $10 negative balance on a card I've never been able to use. No live persons to contact with issues. Very frustrating. I like Walmart and shop there frequently. Would you deal with a bank with no way to contact a live person? Why would I ever accept another card like this?

I'm not sure if it's because of my address change, but I already talked to someone and let them know I moved and provided my new address and that's how I just received it. I will never refer anyone to get a Walmart card. All of my money is on the card and I haven’t been able to touch for over 2 weeks now. I have a 4 and 6 year old. I have to scrape up money for food. My car note is completely behind as well as rent. Soon to be evicted in a state where I don’t know ANYONE. All of this is because they canceled my card without my Consent and I never received the new card after a week. Now once I do get my card I have to be verified which takes 2 business days. NEVER AGAIN!

I have had the MoneyCard for 5 years now. I have never had an issue. However, yesterday I went to make a purchase and my card was declined. I called the card because I KNOW I have money in there. The lady on the phone told me my card was automatically blocked by the computer due to a suspicious transaction. So I asked which one. Which she could not provide on "her computer" so as I frantically try to get answers (I have zero cash as I stupidly relied on this card with literally all my money) she tells me I have to send my info for them to 'verify' my identity. But it will take 5 business days! Wwhhatt? I have no access to money. At all. And all I keep getting is "I understand ma'am?" I'm beyond frustrated. They don't understand. They don't care. I have a family of 6 and we are completely screwed. Thanks Walmart for messing with people's hard earned money.

I am from Vermont. Bought my card in New Hampshire. Went to activate my card and was unable to. I called the customer service and all they kept saying they will send us a check to us in 2 weeks even though we said we purchased this. We had a family emergency. Why we bought instead of carrying $175 in cash. Their response is, "We sorry to hear that." And said Vermont is state. They cannot activate the card because it is a Green Dot card. I am very disappointed with the Walmart Green card's dispute department! DO NOT GET THIS CARD! They will not help you and you have no way to get your own funds during a dispute because they do not have a live banking branch! On August 31st I fell to a fraud situation. Where someone had stole my card number! Contacted Walmart MoneyCard. Went through the whole claim process to only be denied! First of all how are you going to tell me my claim was denied and you didn’t do an investigation! Secondly I don’t appreciate your Representative saying that I authorized those transactions when I didn’t! I’m not going to do fraud on my own account! I’m the victim but I had to get my debit card closed, charged additional fee to rush another card, wait 10 days just to be denied! I would not recommend anyone to get or use the Walmart prepaid MoneyCard. Your money is not safe with them and anyone is able to take it out of your account and nothing can be done about it. As well as the customer service team is not trained correctly. They tell me to wait till the transaction is posted on my account and once it is posted to call them back and they will reverse the transaction. After I spent all day watching my account waiting for the transaction to post, I called them back. Just for them to inform me that the information I was given previously by not one or two but three of their employees was incorrect and that it is impossible for a bank to reverse or refund me my money without having to wait over a week to get it back.
They clearly told me it would be reversed and back to my account as soon as I called. I have put over $10,000 into my account I have with them and have never called once with a problem and when I do I get lied to, they give me a runaround, tell me things to get me off the phone and hang up on me when they are supposedly looking into my information. Please if you are thinking of banking with Walmart DO NOT DO IT. I mean it's not like I was asking them to give me money I didn't have but to refund my money back to me. You are better off with an actual bank than to go with them.

I ordered a new card on the 10th of August, and it is now Sept. the 7th and still no card. Each time I call they said it will be in the mail and still no card. They said they FedEx us one and when I talked to FedEx they said there was no package for me or anything that pertained to my address. I had also asked for a tracking number and they said they were not allowed to give me it. I asked to speak to someone who could fix this situation the lady had told me she is the high level I could talk to. She would connect me to a complaint department. She wouldn't let me do the survey. She said she couldn't transfer my money to a different account of mine. I have bills to pay and it’s been a month.
I asked her to overnight me a card make it right. She said no and nobody can help me, and my card will be here by Sept. 11. I do not recommend this card for anyone. Bad service and not willing to help or make things right. What kind of business is this? If you messed up you should be doing everything to make things right and do right by your customers. I will be closing this account and I will be getting a hold of whoever is over this banking card!!!

My paycheck was deposited on my new Wal-Mart MoneyCard. But, when I went to use "MY" money, my card declined. I waited on hold for almost 2 hours. Then was told that my paycheck being deposited was suspicious activity! Then was asked to provide pictures of my check stub which takes several days to arrive by mail. And provide my photo I.D. all of which is NOT in the Terms of Use contract! And my friggin wallet was stolen a week ago!
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but Green Dot still has MY MONEY which I desperately NEED for gas to get to work! I've had prepaid cards before, and NEVER have I been treated SO POORLY! Soon as I get my money I'm cutting up this piece of garbage card, and telling everyone not to use their services because they STEAL your HARD earned money!

On a business trip halfway across the country and the day my direct deposit was to show up my account was blocked. They told me to email a copy of my ID and call the IRS. I sent in the required docs and even went to the local IRS office to verify my ID. I did everything that they asked me to do. After a week I called to check and my acct was closed and they said I could not open a new one. This is the worst "bank" I have ever dealt with. The customer service reps were unfriendly and unhelpful and after I just went through all the hoops the set forth I get my account closed with no reasoning given. I was halfway across the country for 9 days without any money to my name because of their practices. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

I'm trying to find out how to contact someone so I can verify my identity. I bought and loaded card. When I tried to register the card, I was denied with no explanation or attempt to ask for more information. What is the purpose of selling a card and then denying someone without a live person ever making contact? How is that legal? If I'd know there'd be issues I wouldn't of put extra money it, over bill amounts. I put cash on but can't take my cash off. Come on. There is no fraud, funding of terrorism or money laundering going on. Just my 200 dollars, I should be able to spend as a like.
What really sucks is I had my pay check direct deposited on to another brand prepaid card only for them to hold it almost a week. Thanks to QuickBooks and the company payroll clerk I got my check after 5 days. Now to be screwed over by your company 1 1/2 days later. I thought there would be some standards and professionalism with a product with Walmart attached to it. I see I was badly mistaken. Why would anyone want to pay money to not be able to use the card as it was purchased and intended to be used? If you care at all about customer satisfaction, then you'd make it easier for people to make contact with a live person when there is a issue. This card is a rip off. So is 1-2-3 prepaid from Smith's a Company of Kroger.

I lost my card and had to call to get a replacement because you can't transfer your money easily. They force you to send it to another Green Dot card or PayPal. I paid $15 to expedite and then received an email stating that I have to forward a copy of my ID. When I followed the link to input my information the first step is to input the card number which I do not know and customer service refused to give me. When I tried to call I can't get through because when I give the last four digits of the card it has already been stopped so the call disconnects. I cannot access my account through the app nor the website. So now I have to wait to receive the card then send the ID once I have a new number and then I have to wait another two days for my information to be reviewed before I can hope to access my money. This is a customer service nightmare and I will definitely be closing my account as soon as humanly possible.

A supervisor called me and left a message. I called back and talked to the lady and found out why my claim had been denied. First off when I did the claim over the phone the person told me my claim had to be in within 11 days but when I talked to the supervisor she said my claim was closed in 6 days and my letter got to them a couple hours after they closed it. First off I was told I had 11 days so they LIED!! This is how they get over.
So she told me to just email to an address that said that address was wrong, so I sent to the address for transaction disputes. I sent it the same day I talked to the supervisor and this she said I had 5 business days. So from my understanding an email gets there the same day so what happened? Now you put on my review no response received. That is a big fat LIE!! These people take hard working people money and have no intention of helping you get it back! But you will never get anything else from me!!!
Updated on 09/14/2018: I‘m responding to the email in which Walmart MoneyCard said they couldn’t reach me to resolve my dispute. This is a LIE!! First off, a woman named Ronnie called me from the information I left on my ConsumerAffairs page. She called me on a Friday and left a message on my machine. I returned her call on Tuesday of the next week. Since the calls are suppose to be recorded, go back and listen to it. I did everything she told me to do just like I did before and got denied.
I’m done trying to resolve this through them because their intentions are not to help you resolve your issue anyway. So no more wasting my time with them!! I wrote this review just to let you know someone did reach me and we did have a conversation, even though it didn’t do any good! So don’t lie and say a RESPONSE wasn’t received, if it wasn’t received it’s because you didn’t want to receive IT. I would never recommend this or any card Green Dot issues to anyone!!

I have been using the Walmart Money Card for a while now and really have only one issue. Photo Deposit takes too long! I know not counting weekends and holidays as a business day, but five business days seems too long because the people who wrote me the checks have had their monies debited the day after I made the Photo Deposit! Seems that if the check writers funds have been withdrawn so quickly, I could have my account credited quickly too. That seems reasonable to me. I will now just go to the bank the check was written on and cash it. I was just trying to save a trip to said bank(s). If you can speed up this process to be as quick as it is for the check writer to have their money withdrawn, then I will use this feature again. If not, (and I'll give it one more try) then I won't use this feature and recommend others do not as well. Thank you for your patience. Mine is thinning.

Walmart likes to steal money, apparently. I cannot withdraw money from my card. They claimed my information was "unverified," and despite my call into customer service and my eagerness to verify the information, the representative could not "verify" my information. Moreover, the representative, Selene, was rude. She refused to transfer me to her manager or supervisor. If I want a refund, I will have to wait two weeks for it. I can't afford to wait two weeks, as my paycheck was loaded on to that card, and the companies to whom I owe money will not accept that card as payment.

The Walmart Card is great but, unfortunately there are some things that I can't use it for. An example of this is I tried to finance a ring for my wife at Jared and everything was going great until they asked for my banking information I gave them my Walmart Card info and that's when I turned down. Just things like that is all the problems I have.

Ok, here goes. I used the Walmart MoneyCard for years with very few problems. Direct deposit to my card. It was very convenient and my money was always there. Bill pay was great unless they sent out a paper check. Simple and easy. The problem came when I switched jobs and the company I worked for would not direct deposit to a debit card. Then I would have to physically walk into a Walmart and cash my check directly to the card. There were times when a new customer support rep would not cash it, even if it were all going to my card. The name on the check did not exactly, I mean exactly, match my ID. On the check it was Don. On my ID it was Donald. It got totally ridiculous. I have several credit cards, each with a different form of my name. Didn't matter.
Walmart policy is the most asinine thing I have ever run across in my life. Banks had no problem. All they needed to do is fingerprint the check. Had to cash my check at the bank and deposit the cash. Done mainly for online payments. In the end I gave up and opened a check account. Dumbest policy I have ever heard of. Walmart needs to pull its head out. Other than that, great card. Check cashing is a joke. Photo deposit never worked.

I called customer service over declined purchases with places I've always worked with. For 15 mins, I had a rep in India I could not understand who refused to put a manager on the phone, kept putting me on hold to come back & ask me questions over & over. I was polite, but eventually became upset. She mentioned an invalid pin at 1st, then tried end the call, but I don't use a pin with Visa charges. I am definitely considering cancelling a company that puts cheap labor above service.

Unusual activity on my card, I type the wrong address when I relocated because of my job. During the move I misplaced my card and requested another. I talked to a support agent yesterday and explained the whole situation. They were understanding and issued me another card. I provided all the information only I would know at this time. This morning I woke up to an email. My entire paycheck is just sitting there. My family will starve waiting on this process, I could be evicted because I cannot pay my rent. And no compassion whatsoever. I get a response when I email because that only way I can communicate but by email. That is 12 days without having the means to provide for my family.

On August 27th I tried to use my card at the grocery store. My balance was 107$. Was told that my card declined. I called the automated voice system to check on why it was declined I was told to upload documents to confirm my identity. I uploaded my license front and back. Later that night I checked my card and was told my account was canceled because my identity wasn't confirmed. I tried to reach a representative which I finally did and she told me that she was creating a call back from corporate. It is now the 29th and I still haven't received a call. Please I just want my money back. I had my Walmart card for 5 years and NEVER had problems until now.

Walmart Money Card is convenient in and of itself, but forget it if you need a real answer to a problem from customer service. They declined a payment for my phone service because they said they don't approve those types of transactions. And yet, they were doing it for 2 months prior to this without incident. In fact, when I set up this new phone service 3 months ago, I used the WMMC to pay for it--no problems. The next month it was automatically drafted without issue, but this month- don't know what happened.
I held on the line for nearly 20 minutes waiting for a manager when the CS agent didn't seem to know why that happened and I don't think she understood what the issue was, as she kept referring to a temporary card, which is weird since I've been using the card since last December. The manager couldn't tell me why either, and said she would set up a case for it. This morning I received an email that said: "After further reviewing your concern, we’ve determined that there is no known issue affecting the functionality of your Card." Strange how this is the same exact email that they sent to me when I was having a totally unrelated problem a few months ago.
They give the same canned answer, which only adds up to "we don't know what happened and frankly we don't care." Then they refer me back to their customer service number???? No one could tell me why they approved a payment to a phone service in previous months, and now they don't, nor do they offer any reassurance that it won't happen again. I know money wasn't the issue since an entire paycheck had been directly deposited onto it 3 days before. Very disappointing that they slip up like this and don't even offer a way to make sure it doesn't happen again. I was without phone service because of them.

Never works customer service experience I've ever had. I called 37 times to try to get my account cleaned up with the charge that never went through on my end or FedEx his hand but it went through on Walmart MoneyCard three and a half hours later after I tried to do it but they will not do anything about it. FedEx is try to call them to seeing that there is no charge. There's been nothing on there and I have nothing pending. Walmart MoneyCard will not do anything about it. They would sit there and want to hold on to the money for 15 days. There's no transaction history of FedEx. Nothing but three and a half hours later goes to Walmart which is ridiculous. How in the hell you run a company like that so bad and the customer service is awful.

I was actively participating in the cash back rewards, as in I would specifically place and keep money on my card for Walmart purchases and had accumulated approx. $57 & change. When the time came that my 12 mo.'s were over and I could collect, my tracker never moved from mo. 11 to 12 to do so. I reached out numerous times through the site and got different responses each time, however my responses were never addressed and each time I only had 300 characters to try and explain and back up my explanation with the legal documents off the money cards own site. I finally had a chance to call and once I did, I was first told that in order to qualify, my account must not go negative during the end of the period.
My card never went negative during the end of the period, it had gone negative one time and for mere minutes, because of the ATM fee charged by this company and a tip I had left on the card. It went negative for not even 20 mins and in the amount of $1.44. I was then told, "Well your account can't go negative at all." The app gave me an alert saying, "Hurry and add more money to keep your cash back rewards" and my counter continued to keep counting both the months and accumulating more money on top of what had been earned. IF this were the case, why does it give you that notification, why do the months continue to count on, why does the money keep adding up and most importantly, WHY DOES YOUR LEGAL AGREEMENT NOT SAY THIS?
Legal agreement states it cannot go negative during the END of a period. I am angry enough over this that yes I also had a lawyer look at it and will be reaching out to the company on my behalf now. Specifically used this card for Walmart purchases, to get the cash back and for online purchases so my bank account is not out there and suddenly once it's time to collect, the rules change. Anyone attempting to utilize the cash back, don't bother, they will find an excuse to rip you off.

PLEASE DON’T USE THIS CARD. Whatever you do! If you can refrain from using this card please do! Try a different company or use another brand! First off there is no corporate number to call with any issues! My card had an unauthorized purchase on July 13, 2018. Today is August 27, 2018. I have yet to receive my money back. Due to the fact someone else used my card and made an unauthorized purchase. I have been lied to and basically just swindled out of my own money. I have talked to the representatives (which are all in the Philippines so they barely speak English) where they have told me that they didn’t receive the money from the merchant. Only for me to do a conference call with the MoneyCard and the merchant and basically when the merchant advised that the money was sent back to them on AUGUST 14, 2018??? The representative with the MoneyCard still didn’t have an answer as to where my money is!
I still don’t have my money and it still has not been resolved. Which means if somebody makes an unauthorized purchase on your card??? You will not get the money back!!! Please DON'T USE THIS CARD!!! You will have all types of NIGHTMARES!!! They are scammers!!! They look like they only hire non-American people that don’t speak English and are rude!!! If you have this card and someone steals it, you are basically up ** creek! STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD! Run! They are scam artist! DON'T USE THE WALMART MONEYCARD AT ALL!!!

I've had Walmart MoneyCard for over a decade and now all of a sudden they decided to block my account due to suspicious activity and the only activity I have is receiving money from family members because I'm in college. I now have a job and I haven't received my paycheck via direct deposit. I'm thinking it's because my card is blocked. I tried uploading my ID for review and they still denied it and stated I had to do it over. I am furious because I have bills to pay and I'm behind because I can't get to my money. This has NEVER happened before and it is really hard to get in touch with someone in customer service. This is horrible service and I will no longer be using Walmart MoneyCard any longer!!

This company is stealing people’s money my card was locked just after I loaded my bill money and they have no live people to talk to and the Walmart locations will not assist. I have deductions from utilities who say they never received the funds two weeks ago which I also just found out so I am out two paychecks from this company. Don’t trust them. Don’t give them your money.

I worked as a gm restaurant business my whole life and I’ve never seen such atrocious customer service as this card provides or not provides. Apparently the rules change the longer you have the card. So when I first got my card I would say about 8 months ago I go away for manager meetings once to twice a month. I used this card for paying bills and hotel stays. The hotel we use puts a 50 dollar incidental charge on your card. The next day you check out they release the hold. My first time using the card I noticed the charge was still there after a week and I called customer service. I asked the hotel beforehand if the release was done. They confirmed. The woman I spoke to and barely understood which is an every time thing when you call said she couldn’t do it. It was gonna be 20 days for to go back.
I asked for a supervisor. 1 hour hold to tell me that once 30 days are up that I’ve had the card they would be able to put the refund back before the 20 days. No problem. I accept that I’m new to the card. Now I’ve done this mind you for 8 months once to twice a month. Called after the 30 days I’ve had the initial card and asked for the refund to get put back and zero issues.
So this past Monday was my meeting. I’m Valley Forge and got my room checked out. Two days later made the first call and was told I wouldn’t get my money back until Sept 4. Almost three weeks from the charge. I said, "No. I do this everytime," and asked for a supervisor. She hung up on me. Called back, waited again and got someone else. Gave me the same line. Asked for a supervisor. Was told none was available. I would have to hold.
An hour later supervisor comes on the rudest yet and tells me that I’m lying. They have never done this for me and it’s their policy not to. I’m sorry. I’m a paying customer and get charged 3 dollars every time I load it and right out the gate I’m a liar? Who says that? Walmart does. I nicely with every ounce in my body try and explain to the man that I have a special needs son with autism and that 50 dollars twice a month is just I single of his prescriptions and this guy's answer and I quote in complete broken English was “Maybe sir you should make more money then so you can take care of your child properly.” I replied in anger at this point and screamed, "He has autism. There is no cure to take care of him," and he proceeded to laugh! When I asked his name he responded with Bob ** and chucked. Now this was someone in India 100%. I could hear the rest of them in the background.
He lied and said he was in Texas and wasn’t even suppose to tell me that. I asked to speak to the person above him and magically we were disconnected right at that moment! Sorry. No excuse trying to save a buck and outsource these rude, incompetent, and discriminatory people! Obviously you employ them so I hold you responsible for making my son's autism a joke! I don’t know what you got going on here but I have never written a review in the 38 years I’ve been alive but you drove me to it! You should be embarrassed to have such horrible employees and I warn anyone who is reading this. The positive reviews are definitely fake!
Stay away from these people and you’ll save yourself a huge headache of never getting anyone who speaks English or has an intelligent thing to say. Your money is hard earned and there are a ton of options out there. I’ll also be making sure when the next autism walks event we do in Philadelphia which is by far one of the biggest I let everyone know there how Walmart’s employees find it a joke! Your employees are a representative of you and this week they made you look like uncaring horrible people.

Spoked 2 a Mr. Daniel **. I emailed him copies of my driver's license. He said he received them and that he would turn them over to his team for review and that I would receive my money. I've been calling him every day and no response. Now I get an email stating that the copies of my driver's license were blurry not clear. This business is the sham. They take your money and won't give it back. Don't ever anyone buy a Walmart prepaid card. They are rip off. I want my money back. $900 is what they owe me since December.

My experience with the the Walmart MoneyCard has been great. The Vault in the app has helped me to save a lot of money. I also love that it allows you to get paid two days early. The only downfall is you have to pay for another card.

I have used my Walmart MoneyCard for years. Just recently I had a very negative experience. I purchased shoes for my daughter on Amazon. She changed her mind so I canceled the order and placed one for a different pair also on Amazon because the initial order is still pending on my card. Even though it was canceled Walmart MoneyCard will not release my money even after I called Amazon and got a settlement verification code to prove the order was canceled. Walmart MoneyCard will not release my money for 10 days. I have talked to them numerous times and explained the situation and gave them the verification code. They continue to tell me I have to wait 10 days. This is unacceptable to me. Sincerely your displeased customer.

If I could select no stars, I would. My husband was laid off so needless to say we've been struggling to pay bills. Before payday I decided to switch to Walmart Green Dot because they claim you get paid up to two days early, biggest mistake ever!!! I was dead wrong. I ended up getting paid a day early, but guess what?! I couldn't pull money out to pay bills and feed my family because these idiots decided to put a block on my account the same day I got paid. I would've never known! They didn't call, text or email to let me know. I only found out because after several attempts at the ATM to get money I decided to call.
Not only did I find out I was blocked but they said I needed to send proof of my identity that will take 5 business days to process!!! I know the issue is I got married and my last name changed, but my employer still hasn't updated that information. They wanted me to send my ID. Just in case, I sent maiden name and my current name ID's as well as my marriage license. This is some BS! I will be cancelling as soon as I get all my money off that damn card. I will make sure I go and leave a review on every site I can find. This should be illegal!!! Sincerely, A family that won't have lights on tomorrow or food to feed my family.

This would be 8/21/18, the 4TH BUSINESS DAY that I have waiting for Walmart to unblock my card so that I can obtain my funds. I have a kid here without milk and food. Spouse is getting very frustrated. Just please give me the money that was in my account so that I can be done with you all once and for all. Very frustrated customer. I've had this card for over a year. Anyone with a Walmart MoneyCard, they will block your funds for ordering a new card due to it being lost or stolen and give you NO ONE to speak with about it. Never heard of a identity review taking this long when it's done electronically through a bank.

I purchased the Visa MoneyCard and went to the website and was unable to register the card and was given a number to call. I called the number followed the directions and provided all the information again. After that I was transferred to a customer service representative and told I had to provide all the same information for a third time. I asked for a supervisor and was told NONE were available! After a few minutes of asking for a supervisor, I finally spoke to one and had to provide my information all over again. At this time, I had enough and requested a full refund. After which I had to provide all my information yet again! Whatever system being used to register a card is broken and needs to be replaced. I'll never use this product again!

I got married a year ago and have been unable to have my name changed on my Walmart Money Card ever since. I have tried many times. I have many direct deposits set up to this money card. All of my bills are set up on auto-pay through this card as well. I was told in order to get a new card with my new last name, I had to purchase a new card, register it with the new last name and wait for them to send a new one. In which, I would of course then have to wait for them to accept or deny that request and set up all of my direct deposits and auto-payments all over again.
A major inconvenience. Especially for a customer who has been using this service for the last 5 years. I am talking about thousands of dollars a month here going in and out from payroll and bills. No other bank refuses to change a last name attached to an account when you have proper proof of documentation; drivers license, marriage license and social security card. By the way, I did attempt to get a second Walmart MoneyCard with my new name. It was rejected due to my social security number being used for the card attached for a different name.

I recently had my card come up missing and was told on August 6th that they'd mail me a new card but forgot to mention that my funds would also be blocked for me to do anything with. I recently received my new card, which I needed to verify who I am. I went to the site where you send your ID, which was sent successfully. This was on 8-15-18. I was told that it'd take 2 business to approve. Friday, the 17th... nothing. It is now 8-19-18 and I still cannot access my funds or activate my card! I have a child and a spouse I need to feed and support and bills to pay. Not sure how you folks are living but I am definitely paycheck to paycheck and I work hard as hell for my money.
I intend on going to the BBB about this and going with a real bank that actually values me as a customer. This is crazy. I actually was supposed to receive a paycheck on the 8th, but could not because my account is blocked. I still have not received that paycheck from the 8th. PLEASE HELP ME AND RECTIFY THIS ISSUE QUICKLY! Why are there no real people to talk to even when your account is blocked? That is bad business and poor customer service.

My money was deposited on a Wal-Mart Green Dot card and I tried to make a purchase but it was declined. I called the number on the card and it said my account was locked and I needed to submit a copy of my photo ID online. I did that and called back and it said my id was not recognized and my account was closed. I called customer service and they stated they couldn't help me. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they said she was not available. I asked to speak with someone else and they hung up on me. I called back and they hung up on me. I keep calling back and getting the runaround. They have over $800 on my card and will not release my funds.

I thought I'd try to make a mobile deposit with the Walmart money card app. Usually, you can go down to the nearest Walmart and cash/make a deposit then and there, so I thought I'd save some time and deposit my check via the mobile app. However, and this is a fact they only explicitly state AFTER you mobile deposit your check, I found out that it will take almost an entire WEEK for the funds to reflect in my account. Any other respectable bank in the state of Utah deposits them almost instantly! When I called into the money card customer service, they simply stated information that I already knew, and then refused to let me speak to a manager. Because these funds take over a week to process, I will have several late charges on my bills. At this point I will never voluntarily choose Walmart or their money services again.

I was loving my MoneyCard because it allowed me to get paid a day early and I had zero issues... until I transferred $500 from PayPal to the card. I got a text 8/14 from MoneyCard letting me know the $500 was deposited onto the card. 10 mins later I went to use it and the card was blocked. They said I needed to email copies of my ID and pay stubs. I did this and have spoken to them several times and they refuse to let me speak to a supervisor. They claim one will call back but they never do. I have a 3 month old baby depending on me and there is $1100 on my card that I have zero access to. They’ve given me no information and tell me “we have a process.” That is MY money. If the PayPal deposit is causing some issue then reject it and unblock the card. It’s not that difficult. My attorney will be handling this if it’s not unlocked by tomorrow (8/17) and they’re aware of this. Something I thought was working great went so bad, so fast.

Atm fees are ridiculous - I go to a Atm where there is no surcharge and I still get charged by Green Dot - I no longer receive my direct deposit early, I'm getting paid the same day as everyone else at my job. Also you get charged to cash a check, then get charged to load it on your card. This is a bunch of bs - Will be switching to someone else.

My wife purchased meat from Zaycon Fresh, but before we received our products Zaycon closed their business. We contacted Green Dot and Walmart and were given the runaround. They denied our first claim for lack of evidence so we filed a second. We mailed in all the request information just to be told they were denying our second claim because we authorized the charges. They didn't care that we never received our products. When we told them we were filing a complaint, the representative just laughed and said, "Go ahead, you still won't get your money back."

They took about 12 days total to get the issue resolved but finally unlocked my card after sending in the copy of my husbands ID card the second time. I don't like how long it took to verify the information or the fact that they hold all funds until they can verify information causing unnecessary financial hardship and depriving families of being able to buy every day necessities. With that being said, I am glad that the issue was resolved and that we can now get our checks direct deposited. I like the low monthly fees and how they can be waived by having so much deposited. I also like that they have a "stash" option to use as a savings account. I would use this company again and am still using my card now but I do suggest that anyone looking for ANY prepaid card to read the card agreement thoroughly to make sure all rules are followed so this doesn't happen to anyone else. Ultimately it was my fault the card was locked and I wish the resolution could have happened faster but overall it is a great card with great features!

I got a Walmart money card after closing my bank account to be able to receive my direct deposit paycheck while I was deciding which bank to open a new account with. My old bank account was in my name only and there was never a problem with mine and my husband's paychecks being deposited into that account. When I got the Walmart money card my checks went in without a problem but as soon as my husband's check was deposited they locked my account without notice or question. Now my money, ALL of my money is on that card and I have not been able to access it now for 5 days. They wanted me to send in verification of my husband's info and mine which I have done but it takes 5 days to review my account.
They say because he is not the account holder that they lock the account and there is nothing we can do until they review it. My husband gets paid weekly and will have another check coming this Friday as well that we also will not be able to access. They told me I could add him to the account as an additional cardholder but because my account is locked, I can't do that either. I have 3 kids and bills and financial responsibilities and cannot have my money held for days with no response. It took hours of waiting on the phone on hold before talking to an actual person who says I just have to wait. It's not acceptable to just hold my money and give me no way to get it back for a week or more. I have sent emails, called etc. and still have no idea what is going on. I would not wish this on anyone.

I put $200 on a card in March for an upcoming trip. I ended up not using the card for the trip and had not activated the permanent card. I can log in to my account and see that $5 is being deducted from my balance each month and that my card is blocked. When I try to activate the card by phone, the automated system tells me my card is blocked and to go online to submit a copy of my driver's license. When I log in to my account and click on the secure dropbox, I am asked to enter my card number.
Once it is entered, I am told to log in to my account to see my most updated information. I am stuck in an automated system loop. I have emailed and was told I would receive a response in 2-3 business days. The other option is to send a letter via mail explaining my situation. There is no option to speak to a person. I am beyond frustrated and just want to get my remaining $170 back. So far, this has been a $30 learning experience. I will NEVER get a Walmart MoneyCard ever again!

There was a fraudulent charge on my card which I disputed. They resolved it right away and credited the money back. That’s not the issue. The problem I have is they cancelled that card and issued me a new one (without telling me by the way) and told me that I won’t receive the new card for 7 business days!! That means I have no access to my money until next week!! I am a single mother with 3 children. I have bills to pay. That is absolutely ridiculous!! If you’re going to issue a new card, then it needs to be overnighted so you receive it the next day!
You cannot allow people to have no access to their money for over a week!! And when you call customer service, the people on the other end barely speak English and just keep repeating, “Sorry but you won’t receive it for 7 business days.” That’s not an option! Never mind that I have bills that automatically get deducted from my card every month that are now going to be declined which is going to cause another huge problem!! Not a happy customer at all!!!

Very pleased and getting paid a day early is nice. I enjoy not standing in line at bank and the fees are the cheapest I have found out of researching several different prepaid money cards. I would recommend the Walmart MoneyCard to anyone.

Simple to set up, easy to use, great features, and great perks. I got this over a year ago due to not having an accessible bank while traveling the country. Eventually shut down my physically located bank and moved all my bill paying etc to MoneyCard.

Updated on 11/07/2018: This is my second review. I have been trying to resolve a case with Green Dot for several months. I was able to get a live human on the phone once. Every time I call I get a recording. They disputed my last review. I want my money back! Long story short, I purchased two cards for $500 each and they wouldn't activate. I have been getting the run around since August.
Original: I purchased 5 money cards with $500 each on the way out of town for vacation. $2500 total. Upon trying to activate the cards only 3 worked. No help anywhere thru the system to try and resolve the matter. I’m out $1000 on the spot. Never again! I called a local Walmart store and was laughed at and said uh “call the store you got it from”. I did, the woman at the store told me once it leaves there she could not help me. Call Walmart corporate and get bounced around an automatic phone system. Called the number on the card at least 75 times. Always the same result. Kicking me back to the activation line. I called in from an active card to bypass, booted to what sounded like India then dealt with rude customer service, put on hold for an hour then hung up on.
This nightmare is a bit disappointing when you and your family are standing, sweating literally and figuratively try to figure out how to actually pay for our once a year weekend vacation to the beach. Was I stupid in thinking I wouldn’t have an issue trusting my money with Walmart? Maybe but I can tell you the next time I use this service. Never again! Now it’s on the fight for my $1000 I want back.

On 07/27/18 I was in line at a subway in Florida when I get a notification that $357 was spent at a Party City in California. I immediately contacted customer service to report the unauthorized transaction but was told I had to wait for the transaction to be fully processed. On 07/27/18 the transaction had processed so I contacted customer service again to dispute the unauthorized transaction, after making the report I was transferred to a recording giving me information of where to submit a written dispute as well. On 08/11/18 I received a letter dated 07/30/18 stating the investigators for Walmart MoneyCard disputes had ruled this unauthorized transaction to be valid and I would not be credited my funds. I immediately contacted customer support to open another dispute since I DID NOT authorize this transaction and was nowhere near where the transaction took place.
The fact that I made the dispute on 07/29/18 and the decision letter is dated 07/30/18 indicates no investigation had taken place. This was my bill money that was stolen from me. I should not have to fight this hard when I am the victim. My written dispute included the address of my specific location at the time this unauthorized transaction took place. However the investigators wouldn't be aware of that information due not allowing any time to receive my written dispute. I was and still am in possession of my debit card on the date and at the time the transaction took place. I've never authorized anyone else to use my debit card and no one knows my pin number. So how is it possible that I am guilty of making this transaction when I'm in possession of my card in Florida and the transaction happened in California?
How is it possible an investigation was performed without my written dispute that listed all the detailed information about the unauthorized transaction? To add after researching Green Dot and unauthorized transaction disputes I learned Green Dot has had multiple security breaches, leaking people's information which is allowing fraudulent transactions to be made then told that the investigation proved to be a valid transaction. Due to the way this dispute was handled and after reading others that have had this happen as well, I will no longer be using Walmart MoneyCard services and I will be spreading the word about this so that no one else can have this happen to them.

Walmart MoneyCard has the worst customer service. Called to suspend my card cause I thought I lost my wallet. Found it, told me they cancelled it, and will send me a new card in 7 days, or; call back in 24 hrs, and can have it expedited. Call back, the women who barely speaks English, tells me there is suspicious activity, but can't tell me what that activity is. This is a classic case of how outsourcing customer service to third world countries is never a good idea. As soon as I get my new card, I will be removing all my funds, (over 700.00) and switching to a new bank.

I bought a MoneyPak a week ago, gave it to my husband to load on his card. The money just disappeared into thin air! It's virtually impossible to get anywhere with customer service because they are poorly reading everything from a script. He was told it was used fraudulently. We have supplied them with the receipt and a copy of the purchased card. This happened before and we were never refunded the money. This is hard earned money and based on reviews that I have read this has happened to thousands of everyday working people like myself.

So found out one of my cards my prepaid Visa was up & locked on 8/9/18 due to "suspicious" activity. Now I can understand "preventative measures against fraud", however the policy that Walmart/Green Dot follows and the OVERSEAS REPS they have scripted, trained & brainwashed to "assist" us are HORRENDOUS. I GAVE PERMISSION to my SON K.F. to use MY CARD which I pay monthly fee and charged $2 to access my own doggone money. He has his DD from his job set to come to my card. Deposit was received on last week, well 2 deposits then the 3rd deposit hit on yesterday and they decide to lock the card due to "suspicious activity" which happened twice prior to that.
So I called to see why we couldn't get gas & was advised of this. The 1st rep Divine proceeded to tell me WHY & give me some B.S. about needing to send my license & his front & back & a copy of a paystub deposit slip??? HOW STUPID can this be when HE (well I actually took it to them) provided his employer with the deposit slip you all sent with the card & you allowed 2 prev deposits to come thru. I'm fine with calling me to ask about the "suspicious activity" but to block me from MY HARD EARNED MONEY, make me send ALL this in which makes NO SENSE bc you still will NEVER see my dang face and THEN claim you have to wait 5 business days to confirm & RELEASE MY MONEY.
Totally UN acc damn ceptable. SO YES I'VE REACHED out to my attorney and he will be calling back. I called back b/c NO FINANCIAL institution conducts their fraud verification this way. I.e. I just filed against my American Express Serve Card, yes they locked it down but opened back up to allow me to get my funds then locked it back, closed it and sent me another. I also have an acct w/ Navy Federal and had one with WF NONE conducts business this way. This has caused us a great hardship & I WILL be closing as soon as it handled!!!

I have a real bank account that I have used for 14 plus years. I decided to use this so called "quick and easy service"... for a family member. To make a long story short. The representatives have no answers to your questions. They have the same answer every time, which is that they will submit your issue. Very unprofessional and lack knowledge all the way around. Now my son cant get his money because the money I put on there has multiple limitations. The other answer is to go to a Walmart. What if I am miles away? Or simply don't want to? All of the hours of hassle to be told there is no help and pretty much it's your issue. Walmart should not pursue things like banking. This has to be the worst banking "even though short term"... I have dealt with my whole life. I strongly recommend going somewhere else for money services.

Theyre scamming us. I've got proof, letters, recordings, so called "badges with fake numbers" that they claim to have, claims of being bankers, Applying payments incorrectly, receipts, statements, emails, charging additional fees, misrepresents that when customers dispute charges on their cards, claims that it will grant provisional credits so they can access their funds while the error is resolved which it does not. I've recorded multiple times spoke with a couple different "supervisors" all telling multiple lies, hanging up on me, switching stories, neglecting evidence I provided from merchants. I have a substantial amount of evidence. If anyone knows of a contact for a lawsuit I will greatly appreciate it.

I would love it except I can't access my card online or on the phone. Plus when I deposited cash onto it before work it said I had a new balance of $680. Then when I got off work I deposited another $49 and it said my new balance was $669. When I had not used my card in between deposits. Other than that the card is just fine.

It says after you set up direct deposit you should get a $25 cashback and I never received that. I’ve had direct deposit over $250 within 60 days of activating the card and never received the cashback bonus. I would appreciate it if the bonus can be added to my card in a timely manner. Thank you.

My Walmart MoneyCard was suppose to be unlocked on the 8th. I called yesterday to find out why it is still locked. Customer service said they did not know why it is still locked because they received all the documents. They said to wait one more day and try again tomorrow. Tried again. Still locked. Called back since a supervisor was suppose to call us back but failed to do so and they said corporate office will call us in 24 hours to help us. We will see.

I have had my card for 5+ years and have always received my paycheck on the day before my actual payday. That is up until about 2 months ago when I suddenly started receiving it on my actual payday. There is absolutely no way to talk to an actual person in customer service. The numbers I found were automated only with no option to talk to a live person. I called the number on the card as well as the 800 number for Green Dot Bank and neither number gave me a live person. It's pretty frustrating and one of the primary reasons for my having this card (the ability to receive my paycheck early) no longer exists yet the website still advertises this service so may have to rethink using this card.

I purchased a Walmart MoneyCard for my college-bound son yesterday. I registered it online, then a screen popped up stating that my son's identity couldn't be verified and that he can't reload, make online purchases or use direct deposit, and that he will not receive a permanent card. I put $25 on the card to test it out, thankfully, instead of a full $500. I called the number on the back of the card, but it is only automated with no prompt to speak with a live person about my issue with the card. I searched online and they don't even have an email address. So the card is not usable... Total waste of money.

I had all the options from viewing my account online. I have a card with my name on it, getting direct deposit. Then for no reason I can't get online. The 800 number you can't talk to a human. After calling number after number I finally get ahold of a person and they tell me my card is a temporary card. Can't check my balance. Also the ATM located in Walmart for these cards charges to get money. What a hassle. Waste of my time. So I'm gonna look for another card I can use, not through this place.

I recently made an online purchase of some jeans from The Buckle for $86.29 and realized I gave them my old address instead of my new address so I called and cancelled the order immediately. The funds were taken from my account but were refunded by The Buckle. There was a pending credit of $86.29 for 3-4 days and when I checked today it was gone and so was the transaction showing the deduction but the money was never refunded. I contacted The Buckle and they said they send the refund on August 2. I then called Walmart MoneyCard customer service line and they said the money was never deducted which it was.
I called The Buckle to verify the money was taken out, they said they received the funds from my account and later refunded the funds and that they could send a fax over to Walmart/Green Dot to prove it. I called Walmart/Green Dot to ask for fax number but they said they don't have a fax number and that they don't need any proof because they have their own proof. I guess the money just disappeared into thin air because I never received it. They are very unfriendly and rude. Has anyone else had that problem? Is there anyone else I can contact about this?

I set up my card online with a username and password. When I came back to get online to access the message came back that I didn't input the correct username. I know I did because it saved it in my browser, and furthermore I took a screen capture of to make sure it was right. I can access the information through their 800 number only. I had to go to the automated phone system to get the card activated. I couldn't get anyone anywhere to help me solve this problem. I know what I'm doing but I'm wondering if Walmart MoneyCard does. Once I get the money out of it, I'm done with Walmart's MoneyCard. I shop in Walmart 2 or 3 times a week on both personal and business, and have no problem with them. This is nonsense, period.

I get my direct deposit a day earlier than anyone else. So that really helps, but I would like to have a chip card. Being able to withdraw money at Walmart stores is convenient. The online banking is easy and straightforward. I used to work customer service for a bank.

I had a security problem with my account, gave them a call. They shut my card down without giving me enough time to get money off the account, then told me I have to wait until the new card comes in to access my money. I am fed up with Walmart MoneyCard services. It is absolutely ridiculous that I cannot access my own account in any way without the new card. They didn't even tell me I wouldn't be able to access the money. I work in card services, I know that there is a way for the old card to be reopened long enough to access the money, but they absolutely refused. Great customer service, keeping money from someone who has been with them for 12 years.
Updated on 08/08/2018: Just spoke with Green Dot about my card still not arriving and was told that the card would not be here for another 7 days, after being told yesterday that the card was on its way and would be here at least by today. I called because the card still has not arrived. I have money sitting in this account that I need access to right now. I am a single mother with an Autistic child and Green Dot is telling me there is absolutely no way they can help until the new card arrives.
When transferred to the supervisor, she told me to borrow money from someone and go to WalMart to buy a new card they could transfer the money to. I am floored. I have been with Green Dot for nearly 12 years (since they started the prepaid program through Walmart) and this is how they treat their customers. I told them I had recorded the conversation, and was told I could not record (ergo irony because they are recording me) and they disconnected the call. When the new card arrives I will be taking my money out and closing this account. I will find another company that will better appreciate me as a customer.

I love my debit card and I like that I can have my check deposited on my card from my employer. If I had one complaint it would be that you charge so much for withdrawing cash and when I want to put cash on my card that has my name on it you charge me for it.

I have used Walmart money card for many of years before this new one and have enjoyed it mostly. I do have a couple complaints one is that some companies can find the exact amount in your account to withdraw without consent to take that amount. So if I owe an amount a company can take exactly what I have in the account and should not know what I have in the account to take. The second is if we could get less fees I would really appreciate it, and cause us to use the card much more.

I've been using this card for almost a year without much trouble. I'm an online contractor so it was nice to be able to get my funds deposited directly here. Well, fast forward to this past Friday. I received a $25 credit from Booking.com through their Refer a Friend program and they decided to completely freeze my account! I have over $500 sitting in there that I desperately need and they cut me off over $25 dollars.
Apparently, their reason is "they can't see the originating transaction for the 'refund." After explaining to multiple reps that it IS NOT A REFUND but a CREDIT for participating in their program, nothing came of it. All of the Reps were completely rude and not listening to what I had to say. They insisted that I email "proof" that this is part of their program. I did that two days ago and I still have my account blocked.
To make matters worse, I am currently out of the country and have no access to my funds. They could potentially be putting my life in danger. I hope this is resolved soon, but I highly doubt it from the other complaints I've read. My account will probably be deleted soon. I am highly dissatisfied and will NEVER use the Walmart Moneycard or Green Dot again. I was a loyal customer with plenty of money flowing through their accounts. SERIOUSLY! STAY AWAY! GREEN DOT IS A SCAM AND UNTRUSTWORTHY! DON'T THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY!
I would say stay away from ALL prepaid providers if you want to keep your money safe and secure. The utter disrespect I felt from their Customer Service is ridiculous and I will be reporting this company to BBB and whoever else I can think of. I'm also interested in any civil suits they have against them because I want my money back. People are waking up to their scams and I hope this company fails hard.

On 6/27/18 I discovered 3 fraudulent transactions for $4000 $4000 and $1095 along with 3 cross border fees of $21.80, $80 and $80. A total of $9276.90 was stolen from my account from a Virtual Business Group located in London. I have never done business with such company. Walmart cannot supply any other info. online. This is a gaming company and they have no records of such transactions. Who would spend over 9,000 on computer games? I sent Walmart all documents supporting these are fraudulent charges however they keep denying my dispute. I was nowhere near London. I live in Pennsylvania.
Walmart continues to give me the run around daily. Will not give me any reasonable explanation for dispute denial or provide more information about transactions. It is clear as day that this is fraud. I've been told supervisors will call me back and no one ever does. I've requested supporting evidence why disputes denied however I have not received anything. I contacted BBB, attorney general, FTC, local and London police department, reported identity theft the list goes on. Walmart refuses to assist me. This was my hard earned money. I had my income tax refund deposited earlier this year and my paychecks were direct deposited.
This money was everything I had. I was completely wiped out. The stress from this is unbearable. I am getting shut off notices for my utilities. I feel so hopeless that something like this is allowed to happen. I didn't lose my debit card either. I could see if I had lost it or gave out information to other people but I haven't. This is a crying shame that Walmart allows this type of business to go on. I now have to get an attorney. I will continue every day to fight this. This is just way too much money to lose and forget about.

I love that I switched to this card. No more hidden fees or charges every time I use my card. I get notifications to my phone to let me know right away when a transaction has occurred. Another perk is that my check is direct deposited a day earlier than I normally would get it. I would recommend this card hands down.

The real problem is that it's literally impossible to pass the identification upload process online that they ask you to send. I tried 14 times to send them a copy of the front and back of the card and each time they rejected it. And trust me I sent exactly as they asked. I am so disgusted with Walmart right now that I am not only never going to Walmart again but tomorrow I am canceling my Sam’s membership as well.

I have no problems with my Walmart card. I'm glad I have one. I use it to pay bills and to shop online securely! I have not had any issues that could not be resolved without making a simple phone call. I have a portion of my paycheck directly deposited to my card every two weeks.

Good although I thought when I first got the card a paper said after so long of direct deposits I get some kind of bonus but don't get any and I've been getting direct deposit for about 9 months from my job.

I love using my Walmart Money card. I have no problem with the service. The fee is a reasonable price to load money onto the card. Glad I can use it anywhere for anything. I have direct deposit and somehow someone went to an atm and took out 325.00 of my hard earned paycheck. My card never left my pocket and no one knows my pin number. Walmart denied my dispute without even doing an investigation. I had to reopen the dispute but the process has been complete Hell. No one even speaks English and is too hard to even understand. I'm hoping and praying I get my money back. This situation left me stuck out of town with no money. I get notifications every time my card is used or under 25 but I find it strange that I never once got any notification of this particular transaction till the day after I reported my loss. This company is a joke!

My card does not go through sometimes when I order from Walmart.com. I have to revert to a different card or just order from another site. My older Walmart Money Card that I used for several years never had any problems. Also. It would be nice to have a couple design options, options to personalize card.

Someone got into my account and transferred money from 1 Walmart Green Dot to another. My rent money and then the worst customer service you have ever seen. No joke. They send you here and there, talk with barely speaking English people with no power to even help you. Don't fall for this scam of a card. If you do your money is not safe.

Yeah so it was sat upon unprotected and was folded into 2 pieces. I never could figure out how to order a replacement. Fortunately it broke in such a way that 2\3 of the plastic had the strip on it and the other third, my name. Murphy's law gets a +1 for the day. You get 5 stars from sheer luck.

I don’t think it’s fair to charge a deposit fee everytime I want to put money on my card. I already get charged monthly. It makes it very inconvenient and expensive. Other than that I am happy with the service I receive.

The entire experience has been great. Many times I wish the load fees and minimum were less... but overall it's very handy. The cash back feature with Walmart is enough to make up for the sometimes bothersome fees. With all that said, I and my wife are pleased with the money card experience. One thing I would like to see is customizable cards.

First off it was going very fine. Then I paid my car note. I seen the charge pending then all of sudden it charged again. I called my car note people. They said they only see one charge on they end which they even gave me the confirmation number. I called the Walmart card customer service and you can’t understand them. They fail to help you. They keep saying, "O it should just fall off since the first one posted." Remind you this is 500$ not 5$. So I ask, "If you guys are the bank why can’t you reverse the charge or even decline the pending transaction."
They can’t help. They can’t do nothing. Got late payment on my rent cause the dumb Walmart card is holding my money. I’m planning filing a lawsuit because it is not cool for the glitches they have in they system. Maybe you guys need to hire people who first language is English. I really wouldn’t recommend this card to no one and my problem still haven’t been solved at all. Can’t even get a corporate number. Smh???

I really love Walmart MoneyCard. It is banking made simple and easy! Being able to stash some cash for prize savings and for the future is really cool. However, I don't like the fact that every time I log in to mine or my husband's account we have to put in a verification code. Other than that it is totally up to par.

I received a Walmart MoneyCard Mastercard Debit with $75 pre-loaded as a birthday gift. My mom bought it because it had a low fee and nothing on the packaging to indicate there would be more fees or how to activate. Once I went to use it I found it had to be 'activated'. Activation included going online to the Walmart Money Card site and providing highly invasive consumer credit details. In this age of ID theft the last thing I wanted to be providing was my name, address, phone #, SSN, DOB, etc. to yet another financial institution.
I called Walmart and asked how to return the card thinking I rather give it back to my mom and have her return it than provide all the info. I was told they were non-returnable. Then I was just going to give it back to her and have her spend it. But thought since my credit is locked-down and hers isn't it would be better for me to use it. Thought hard about not activating and just letting that $75 evaporate. But $75 is $75 so I 'activated' the card sending all my credit information into the ethersphere. To add insult to injury I found out immediately upon activating there is a MONTHLY $5 'maintenance fee'! None of this was disclosed on the card packaging. For people like me that go for a year (or more) before using a 'gift' card they would find $60 skimmed off the value before they ever used it.

I am very happy using the Walmart MoneyCard. It's easy to reload, can be used anywhere, and online access is a breeze. I do wish I was able to reload it using an ATM. Some of my work hours are outside of the normal money center business hours. This would make it a bit easier for myself and many others.

I love the card! If I could say what should change, I would like to be able the have it in a different color. Maybe a picture, just be able to customize the look of the card. I have no complaints about the card when I'm in store or restaurants. The only thing that I can not use it on some cash app. When I want to send money to my kids. I have to take the money off my card and send it Western Union. It would be nice if I could use it bank to bank quick pay. Like most other cards I have without leaving my home to do so. Other than that. I've been with Walmart MoneyCard for years. I love it. I never have a problem with deposits. It's been a wonderful experience for me overall.

I think the atm fees are way too high. Shouldn't be charged from atm and my card holder to use my money. If the atm charges three dollars and then my card charges me three dollars it's costing me six dollars to get twenty dollars of my money and I think this is ridiculous.

I have direct deposit set up for one of my jobs. I get paid by check for my second job since I invoice the business. They personally write the amount and my name on the business check. Walmart was cashing my check with no problem for weeks. Now I am unable to cash my check because it is handwritten and over $200. Technically, I have a bank account with Walmart (Green Dot BANK), but I am still limited and have to go to another bank to cash my large check. Either the staff is misinformed or this rule is extremely inconvenient to Walmart customers that use this card. I use this account to pay my bills like any other bank set up.
If a customer decides to use direct deposit like a bank account for any matter, I do not think that customer should be charged to deposit cash into their account. If a customer does NOT have direct deposit, and only uses the card like it is a prepaid card, then charge them the $3 fee. It is unfortunate that business will find every reason to make money off of people.

I really appreciate the versatility I get with my Walmart MoneyCard. Sending money to friends or family is effortless and instant. I can deposit checks by just taking a picture. I have used direct deposit for my pay checks in the past, funds being available a day or two before my payday is nice. The monthly account fee is minimal, if you don't use one of many options to have it waived. I can use my card for almost anything I need. I do not care for banks and all the hidden fees that come with them. I would give a 5 star rating if a few things were changed however. Often when I run my card for things, my balance is right there on receipt for whomever to see. And I wished that the card was not treated like a prepaid debit card by some companies. Overall more than satisfied with my MoneyCard.

No complaint with Walmart MoneyCard, besides the fact that using this debit card, I cannot buy gas unless I go inside the gas stations convenience store and pay at the register, (I live in jersey). Also the statement you guys make about getting a paycheck a day early is inconsistent, sometimes it works that way, sometimes it doesn’t. Other than those two minor complaints, you guys are great!

My experience with the MoneyCard I would have to describe as slightly above satisfied. These are the factors that have sued my opinion. The very high charge on any ATM cash withdrawal. I feel since there are no ATMS associated with Green Dot Bank that can be used without a fee then MoneyCard users should only be charged once by the ATM carrier and not charged ANOTHER FEE by my own card carrier too just because they do not offer ATMs at all that can be used for free. Also, I feel that waiting an entire 12 months to be able to receive the accumulated cash back reward is too long. I feel this should be allowed back every 6 months. I also have not been able to use my card at gas pumps that ask for zip instead of pin since I moved and changed my address.

Dislike the Walmart card. Too many fees. Why $3 to put money on the card? Absurd. $5 membership fee if $1000 isn't loaded on in the month window THEY choose; can't choose the month window to deposit the $1000 in the monthly time. Only keeping the card to load money on card when needing to make online purchases. Waiting to get paid to switch to a credit union because the fees of this card are absurd and can't reload it anywhere or at any ATM. Oh, AND they sent my tax refund back to IRS making me wait 4 extra months to get my money back from IRS in the mail.

I wish loading money was easier. Maybe an atm that we could load card would help. The 3.00 loading fee is also an issue. Seems a bit high. Maybe lower that to maybe 1.00. I really like that the direct deposit gets there 2 days earlier.

The card does what I need it to (allow me to have a direct deposit from work, pay my bills online, shop online, put some away into savings [earned interest income would be more appealing than a monthly drawing that is rare to get from the forums I have read]), and loading cash on the card being free is great.

I hate the new blue card now. It's a 1000 a month and now on every atm including Wal-Mart I get charged 2.50 every time to withdraw cash. I'm to to point of getting rid of this card. Oh and now 5 dollars a month for fees not 3 dollars. It's a bunch of garbage. I should expect to hear back from you on these.

The Walmart card is extremely convenient when you don't want to deal with major banks. 3$ monthly charge is not a bad fee and as long as you use it or withdraw money from Walmart money Center then there is no surcharges.

I am pleasantly surprised, and appreciate getting my direct deposit early. I just signed up again and am wondering how to get the $25 incentive. It is kind of a drag waiting in lines at the store to withdraw cash, which is necessary because my rent is more than I can take out with direct deposit. I REALLY wish you participated in Venmo, but I did use your online services recently to have a friend send me cash, so at least there is an option.
