The place that I was living at wasn't a good place for my little granddaughter and her special needs. So at first, I was really thankful that Vanderbilt helped me because I wanted to get my own place. But I've sent a paper in for them to take out the money on my bank account, and I had to contact them several times and they claimed they never got it. It's been going out for about two weeks, and I've sent it to the loans department like I'm supposed to. I'm really upset about it because I wanted to do it that way since I don't drive and I had to hire someone to take me to do my bills. But now that they never got the information, I don't know what's going on.

This happened to me not once, but this is my second time that I've had this problem. It's just horrible. Then I go back after a week later and my mail is put back in my box that I've sent out a week ago, and all my checks are in there and I had to go close up my account. So I told Vanderbilt that I'll just send them a money order or a check. I can't keep on doing this because it's aggravating me. It really made me so sick plus it degraded me out. I just hope they get something to solve this.

She was wonderful and was very thorough with him on what we're going to need and how long things were going to take. If something was going to hold us back, she was very upfront and honest. The process took about 30 days but even though it was all said and done, my husband would still call back and talk to the rep. She would have to send him to somebody else, but he would always call her. We do our waiting on the place we bought the home from. A month and we were already approved and everything was ready to go on our side.

There was a lady that I was working with up there with buying the mobile home. I asked her who's the good company to deal and Vanderbilt Mortgage was the first option because there was no money upfront while the other company, I had to come up with $2500. And at the time, I didn't have the money to make down because I was in the process of selling my home. So, I went with Vanderbilt , and it's been good so far. I just made two payments.

The rep was helpful with me, they’re real good people and I'm well satisfied. Also, they called me for August payment, and it was like the 3rd or 4th of August. I had the money in the mail, they just hadn't got it yet. Anyway, they got 15 days grace period. Today, I got a statement from them and I'm fixed to mail the September payment off at the end of the month. Other than that, everything's good.

However, I was unhappy with them because one of their representatives would tell me something then another would tell me something else. When I first looked at the mobile home, they told me they couldn't do any cosmetics to it, but I had the understanding that they were supposed to fix it up. The refrigerator that was in the home had an ice maker because I saw that the tube was sticking up, and my daughter had to stay on the case about their fixing things. Furthermore, Vanderbilt and I had the payment set in writing, but before I made my first payment, it went up by $50. According to Vanderbilt, that was because of my insurance. We thought it would take longer but the whole process went very smoothly. We weren’t in a big hurry but they were way ahead of us as far as wanting to get it done. They would email us and let us know what documents we needed and we got those back to them. Nothing was ever rushed on either party’s part. They were also very helpful when answering any questions that we had and the representative managed to work around our schedule when we closed the loan. Vanderbilt was the best being offered, insurance and everything, from where I got my mobile home so I went to their office in Hot Springs and did the closing, which took a week to complete the entire process. Their reps were very nice, accommodating and very friendly. They've got my payments for the 1st of each month but I told them that there's no way that I could do my payment until the 3rd of each month and they said that would be fine. They also told me that I can do either electronic or check, but I wish I could just call them and pay by a card, but they don't do that. On the other hand, I don't like electronic because I've had experiences with it before where the place took my payment out before I told them to, and that just really messes me up.

I believe the fee after the 15th is a late fee but I don't care. I am going to send them a check each month, but it won't be until the 3rd and I'm going to remind them each month. I can't afford to have a bounced check. Well, I've got my account fixed anyway where it won't go through. But if it doesn't go through, Vanderbilt is going to be unhappy with me, and they might charge me extra and I can't afford that. Nonetheless, I've had good experiences with Vanderbilt’s loan process.

My experience with Vanderbilt Mortgage was an interesting adventure. There was a lot of paperwork and a lot of things they wanted to know, but I guess that’s standard procedure. I signed about 30 pages but then I found out other people had to sign 200. I was still fortunate. Besides, we had done everything that one day and I didn’t worry about additional paperwork. It just took a couple of hours actually. They also wanted my dad and my mother to sign the papers, but my mother died in 2000. They thought that both of my parents had to sign the papers since the property was in both their names. They were telling me I had to go through probate and get a lawyer. Then somebody told me that in the title, it said "or instead of", so then I knew that my dad was the only one that had to sign. Then I went back and asked them to have the title read.

I used to pay them every month and although I could do it online, I couldn’t do it automatically since it was in my parents’ names. But now that it's over, I've got it on automatic pay and that's the way I wanted to do it with them. The insurance is also included in the payment. Before, I had to buy insurance elsewhere but now it's all included.

The loan was a long process but had nothing to do with Vanderbilt or Cathy. We started working with Cathy in December, but it took us about six months to get in.

Vanderbilt was ready to go within a month's time but because of the flood insurance, we had to wait for three months before the insurance company to even get out here to close the old one out. After looking at rentals and built places, mobile homes, etc. we decided new was best for us for the amount others wanted for their stuff. So we went and picked one out. We filled out an application, and received a call the next day. I'm not sure if the process would have taken longer, because I'm a pushy person and needed a home ASAP. I called them and asked questions almost daily (Monday - Friday). The gal that gathered information was very patient with me and worked hard to keep things moving quickly! They were quick to get conditional approval and then full approval with emails and such. (Although we were reluctant to send things and stalled on a few items, until they guaranteed approval).

The whole process from application to closing took about 13 business days. I'm not real thrilled with the interest rate, but it's ok we are planning to refinance and then sell or rent out and pay off, for bigger home soon. Thanks to the patience of Gina with my pushiness. Three to four times, Vanderbilt sent information the IRS to get some tax stuff and we furnished them what they needed. But that didn’t seem like it was enough. It seemed like contacting IRS was over excessive. You never wanna bring your name up voluntarily to the IRS. Also, I did not like being forced to take and put money in escrow and using their insurance. I got all the information I needed such as what I had to send in. I thought the interest rate would be lower than what I have, but it's not bad.

The home loan process went smoothly too. Vanderbilt's rep first called me to ask questions about myself, my job and my income. She also asked about the home and if that was what I signed for and wanted. She told me that she'd get back with me by that afternoon. I was working at that time so I couldn't answer my phone when she called me several times. When different reps called me, I tried to get back the rep that started the process with me because even though all the reps have all my information, I’d rather talk to the same person. They were all right with that, so I started and ended the process with the same person, which I enjoyed. She also kept me well informed about everything. The processor, the underwriters, the caseworkers also kept in contact with me and returned phone calls to keep me in the loop when it came to the loan itself. There were some hiccups that we ran across but there was nothing the lender or I could have done about it. It was some stuff with the property that I was purchasing. I submitted an application to Vanderbilt and they called me. I was going through three houses that I wanted, and the rep told me to break down how much the cost and the down payment were. He was very helpful and patient, and he didn't rush me to make a decision. They broke everything down to where I could understand it more. The interest rate was fine too. The entire process took a week and a half. It took a little while because of the papers I strictly had to have and the bank didn't do it right, but the payment was real easy. Vanderbilt drafted it out of my account so I didn't have to worry about it. I would recommend them.

Vanderbilt Mortgage was more willing to help than anybody else. The loan process was pleasant and easy. The Vanderbilt lady that helped me finance through the company did much of the work for me. I got approved but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. But Vanderbilt worked with me and I went from there. I'm not too happy with the interest rate but I'll take it for now. Also, it's easy to make payments on the loan. I send money by mail because if I did it automatically out of my bank account or online, I tend to forget it. So they send me a paper reminding me and I like that. Overall, everything went as planned, from finding what we wanted to getting approved and making adjustments.

It was beautiful during the home loan process and the Vanderbilt representatives were very pleasant, did everything they could to help us and to the best of their abilities explaining things to us. They were excellent and have a lot of suggestions. They are the person who sticks to their word and if they say that they'll try to do something and have it done at a certain time they will certainly do that. This is my first time as being a home buyer and they were very helpful. If there was something that you didn't want, they did not try to talk you into it. Everything went really smooth with the application with Vanderbilt but it took so long. Once I started, the whole process took four months. I do a list of what I needed and they sent a list, and another. It kept getting added to once or twice. It seemed like paperwork kept coming and coming instead of all at one time for me to get everything together and send it in. It took three months for me to get everything together. Other times, it was something different like why I had this on my credit and then I filled it out and sent it in. Sometimes, it got misplaced and I ended up having o resend the paperwork. But that was the only thing and after that, it really wasn't them. The guy checking everything and he kept saying that he wanted more verification.

But the reps seem knowledgeable. The biggest issue I had between them was them and my bank not using the same words. It was confusing me in the middle. My bank was saying that I shouldn’t need something but come to find out it was called something else. They’d changed the name to whatever they were using. It was frustrating a little bit but I’m not saying it was bad and it wasn't horrible. I was pretty much pleased with them as far as the actual people I talked to.

I haven't had the best experience with the trailer place that I purchased from, but Vanderbilt told me that if the trailer place don't fix corrections as far as the home, I can reach back to and let them know to try to get that going. It’s great that they're hearing me out instead of the actual trailer company.

I paid the date due and usually I'm great about it. But when I told them, “I can’t make it. I'm going to be off a couple of days but is that fine?", they said, "Yeah, sure. Just let us know once you submit the payment." So, the representative even helped me in setting up my account online and just told me, "If there's any issue, give me a call." Which I feel is great because I'm a busy person. I think out of the credit companies and all this stuff that I usually interact with on a personal note, they’ve been great.

The home loan process at Vanderbilt Mortgage was stressful at times. There was a deal that they gave us which ended up not going through for them. They called us and said, "Congratulations, you got the house." It got everybody amped up but that wasn't the case so we had to find an alternative route to get it. We were going from one person to the other. It wasn't that damaging though. But overall, it ended up being in our favor. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They helped to give us peace of mind because there was no worry that we weren't going to get the loan. They wanted us to get it and they did everything they could to make sure we got it. So, you could tell that they cared about their customers. I recommended them to people.

Vanderbilt's rep was probably one of the reasons why we kept them because his timing was always perfect when he's calling. We never missed a call from him. One time we missed a phone call but he left us exactly how to get back in touch with him. There was no runaround with him and he was very honest. That made the process a whole lot easier. He tells you exactly what it is and we like to hear exactly how it is. He was always calling to check and see if we needed anything. They also provided all the paperwork that we needed.

Also, Vanderbilt's percentage rate was good. We were about to go to a bank but anytime I ever had to deal with Vanderbilt, it has always been good. They're really good at being communicative with us. We wanted to stick with them because we were that type of family that if we like something, we keep it. The interest rate could have been better but all in all, in the grand game of life, it was a good interest rate.

Our home insurance is through them as well. We had an incident in the house and we needed to use our homeowner's insurance and they were super good about. We've been out of town and somebody had broken in our house in Kentucky and stole a bunch of stuff. They were apologetic that the house was broken into but super good about sending somebody out. When somebody robbed your house, you lose that sense of trust of your own home but they were so good about giving us back the trust that we needed to have to be able to feel comfortable.

Vanderbilt was fine but it was a lot of footwork to do to go to them but understandably that's usually how the market works. Other than that, the people were generous and respectful. They gave me plenty of time to get the paperwork together. They didn't pressure me. All the representatives and people that I spoke to personally at Vanderbilt didn't give me any trouble. They're quick to get anything I need out to me, like the homeowner's insurance. I was sure that the homeowner's had been sent whenever it was set up. But, I don’t think Clayton Homes sent it out like they were supposed to because they were in direct contact with my insurer. But we got all that stuff squared away. I called Vanderbilt and they got it taken care of.

Their interest rate is a little high but I understand that because I'm a first-time home buyer and my credit ain't the best ever, with my banking transaction they don't look as pretty as I would like them. We can't do the 23-year bi-weekly thing so we had to do it monthly for 30 years and I think that's what gave us the 7% mortgage rate.

Vanderbilt Mortgage told us they were to get the homestead exemption to remove the taxes from off the mortgage note. But, every time we try to pay the mortgage, I'm not able to get the homestead exemption. So we end up having to pay more than what we should be paying. They were some great people. However, they said that it was going to be a quick process, but getting the tax form and endless thing here with the homestead to get the taxes took off of it was running me in circles and we were running back and forth from the courthouse to the assessor's office. Everything was good until that knowing the position were in and Louisiana got flooded and everybody needed trailers now.

They needed the last two or three years of taxes. We filed the taxes and then wait for something to come back from the IRS to actually get the loan approved all the way. But after we did that it was pretty smooth. We did change our mind and picked another trailer out and they didn't get give up and the amount didn't change. We're still paying the mortgage on it and it should have been going down at least another six to $80 once we get the homestead. However, the interest rate is high for what we were going to end up paying it. Though we were approved with no downpayment on it, the trailer was $64,000 and we end up paying almost over $100,000 for it. So it's costing us more.

I got a loan from Vanderbilt Mortgage. I have a mobile home so my interest would be higher than the national housing average, but I'm okay with it. It was stressful at the time I was getting the mortgage because I had to repeatedly send all of my information to several people who I got transferred to. And some of the paper works that I collected had gone out of date several times in the process which means I had to continuously keep getting pay stubs, reprint W-2s, and reprint summary reports for my checking and savings. I had to renew all that information every time I switch people. What they were asking was simple, but it's easy to ask for something when they don't have to do it. I had to do it up to five times. One person should be assigned to one person. And if there is a team of people, they should all have access to a group folder. They can use a Google file or folder. Synchronization is needed between people working on one person.

My friends would be alright if they went with Vanderbilt. But if they try someone else and they're happy with them, they should go with them. But if they're not, Vanderbilt was a successful option for me and they had better interest rates than the competition. They can always go to Vanderbilt if their main option doesn't work out.

Sometimes when we put a key in, it's a mess. We need to get something else. However, we're in there now and we're trying to be patient. When my daughter and I bought our home, it was financed through Vanderbilt. But I hope the interest rate was lower. The payment is quite large. I’m paying more interest than the principal. And I’m probably going to refinance.

I knew of Vanderbilt because my parents have their mortgage with them. The housing company that I was going through helped me set it all up. Vanderbilt was able to get hold of me and made it very easy and the process was straightforward. Everyone I spoke to was great, friendly and knowledgeable, helped out with anything that they could.

Everything is nice with Vanderbilt and their reps did a good job. They were slow fixing everything up, but they got here saying, "Yup, I'll fix." And they're easy to get in contact with. Plus, I'm absolutely happy with the interest rates.

Vanderbilt qualified me more than the others did. My experience with the loan processor whom I spoke with went smoothly. The processor was knowledgeable and kept me informed. Overall, I'm happy with the interest rate and the mortgage that they provided.

I liked that Vanderbilt didn't have to have my land for security. It wasn't the easiest, but it was the most convenient for me. The easiest would've been to go on with the government. I could’ve gotten a VA loan for about 3.2%, but the government had to have a collateral of my land and I wasn't willing to put that up. Vanderbilt just wants the house back. The overall process took a month because I had to have some land work done before I could have the trailer moved in. I wasn't going to put it on an uneven piece of property. They worked with me on that and I appreciated it. I doubt that the government would've done that. I had recommended Vanderbilt because they did everything I asked them to do. The people who I worked with bent over backwards to help. They also gave me papers to read and the interest rate that I'm on is okay for right now.

The process of buying the house was fine. However, the quality of the home and the workers installing the home were definitely not what I thought it was going to be. It's been horrible. There were about 15 different things that had to be fixed with the house. They've had maintenance get out there multiple times fixing stuff. We had to have the plumbing redone three times. The septic tank on that property is uphill and the guys who did the install on it were not the best quality of people.

It's been Diana and Tracy from Vanderbilt who helped me and bent over backwards to get all problems fixed, which, at this point, are all fixed. I’ve been talking about them the whole time and they know all the problems that went down. Both of them were immensely apologetic. The customer service on both their parts was outstanding. They made me almost feel like family. Their kindness kept me going. The experience was pretty rough but the effort to get it up the standard in the end was there.

We were looking around and when we found the house, we went and talked to our sales reps at the Oakwood Homes. They were nice and they explained everything. They were supportive and they answered our questions. If we had any problems we could call them. It took us a while to get the house but we got it and we’re so happy. We had to sign a lot of paperwork but it was worth it. A lawyer representing Vanderbilt explained about the insurance that had to be combined with the house payments. In case something happens to either one of us, then it will be paid off. I’m glad we got the insurance through them. My mom always said that when the time comes, you have to go but at the same time it’s nice to be prepared.

Everything was so nice with Vanderbilt. The process took about two months and a few days, but it was because of the weather, not the financing stuff. They had to put brick underlay because we didn’t want the plastic, and they couldn't do that because it was raining and the weather was damp. And now, our home is beautiful. It looks like a regular house and not like a modular home.

The beginning of the process was fine. Once we were told that we had gotten the loan, they had to come and appraise our property. Things were done backwards and the appraiser should have come out sooner than they did. They said it ain't because he was busy but if he did it, he wanted to and if he didn't, he won't.

We’re happy with Vanderbilt but this was all new to us. We were initially speaking with one lady named Helen but every time we would call, we'd get somebody else and that was a little confusing. We kept asking the lady that we bought the home from out at Freedom Homes if the loan went through. She knew that we're going to settle in a flood zone so we had to get flood insurance but they didn't include it. We asked the bankers at Vanderbilt about this and they said that the third-party insurance company said we're not in a flood zone even though we had our county commission and we were here when they did this. It's confusing and we're already stressed. But it all came out good in the end and we’re happy with the whole experience and we got our house.

The home loan process at Vanderbilt Mortgage was very easy going. It was also pretty fast. From the time that I went house shopping to the time that I was in my house, it took me about a month. Also, everyone I spoke to throughout the process was very informative, helpful, friendly and courteous. They explain why things were taking time and where we were gonna go each day every time that they would call. No matter what kind of question you may have, they have the answer to it and they can walk you through and explain what’s going on even if you can’t see it from afar. They were also very nice and outgoing people. They really knew how to keep my spirits up even though I knew it’s gonna take some time to get my new home. They just kept pushing and pushing and pushing me until we finally got through to it.

They were also the best one to fit my budget. I’m happy with the interest rate. It doesn’t bother me and I know where it’s at. Making payments is very easy as well. It comes out of my bank directly and Vanderbilt pulls it out each month. I don’t have to do anything.
