The home loan process experience at Vanderbilt Mortgage has been good. The representatives I worked with were very helpful and they answered all my questions like they were supposed to. We were never on hold and before they were finalizing everything, they would keep us in touch. When we did the closing, they answered all our questions so they were pretty fair about everything, and their expectations. I’m happy with their interest rate. Easy payment process, I just call it in with my checking account although the entire process took a month. They’re good. They’re professional and I’m satisfied with their services.

Overall experience with the home loan process with Vanderbilt was good. Aside from the interest rate is a little high, I had no problem with the financing and everything else was okay. I gave all my information and they did the rest of it. Didn’t take long to get approved and only took about a week. They were very courteous and no problem at all.

The loan process with Vanderbilt Mortgage was done remotely and everything went smoothly. My credit was good and my payment is $1030 a month, which is reasonable and way within my means. Their reps were great and were really easy to work with. And there's no problem in getting the same process. Everything was really kosher. However, I may refinance in the future and use my VA benefits to knock down about 3% interest since I only took a loan of the house. I own everything else like the property, the shop. It's all one acre. So, I got to have equity with the profit I would gain once I get my landscaping redone because they tore up the place in around here.

The young lady that was handling my paperwork was on point. She kept me informed and told me what she needed. My loan officer also worked everything out and made sure I got what I needed. Vanderbilt was easier to use because they were familiar with the dos and don’ts for the type of house that I was installing. There are some lenders that don’t do it for pre-fab or manufactured homes and they did. They made the process very easy. But the interest rate I’m gonna try to get lowered. My experience was pleasant and great. I couldn’t ask for a better experience.

The home loan process with Vanderbilt Mortgage was dragged out. Their reps were friendly and seemed to want to help but every time I turned around, I had to get something else because they didn't tell me everything at first. We started it at the end of September. We were having to move out of our place by December 1st and were supposed to be closing in our house by Thanksgiving. But it ended up being a month later because they kept coming up with something else we had to produce. They knew about it 'cause we had told them several times. I even offered to pay more of the overnight fees or whatever I had to do. It pissed us off because we had to live with my mom and dad for a month. And I'm 40 years old. It was ridiculous.

My wife and I have both come out of bankruptcy. She had lost her home to a previous divorce five years prior to that. I did, too, so we were getting our credit reestablished. We have tried for two years with different places and Vanderbilt took a chance on us. We like the idea that we’re able to pay a little more on our payment when we’re able to and they’ve worked with us well. We enjoyed them helping us out. We’ve just settled in our home and we’ve been in it for four months now. We were blessed with Vanderbilt and we’re happy with the home.

Vanderbilt Mortgage was set up through our realtor. Their reps were all very helpful. Everyone was very cooperative when they did things for us. The overall loan process took a couple days because we had some issues, but that wasn’t a long process at all. It was a very smooth transition and we got excellent service. We never had any problems. We’re also happy with their interest rate. I’ve made our payments online. I would prefer to be able to use my debit card, but it only gives me the option to do a check which often seems to take three or four days to clear. Another thing about using online is I'd like to pay additional towards the principal and it doesn’t give you that option.

Vanderbilt Mortgage was very thorough in letting me know what I needed to do to secure the loan. They worked with the mobile home people who I was getting the trailer from. Then, they got back to us and let us know what our status was when we were trying to purchase a home and even after that, they had follow up calls. The entire process just took about 90 days. Also, whenever I had any problem since I got the home, they were very fast at repairing and sending out their technicians.

The home loan process with Vanderbilt was stressful. I know everybody who needs to buy a house is like that. Everybody tells me the same thing and they want this and that and you have to go through so many steps. I wasn't working at the time because where I worked went out of business. I also had just gotten back from a vacation and I hadn't had the time to go look for a job. But my credit was excellent. They checked it and it went through okay. But it kept going back and forth. I had to have papers they didn't have. They tell you all that they need and you think you have everything ready. You give it all but then you have to have more, over and over again. It took us two months to do it and that was too long. I should have made sure I had my job back first before I even did it. It would have been 10 times easier and I wouldn't have to go through so much stress.

I wish they would've let me change my due date on my house payment. It's been a real pain trying to get all these straightened up but no one will let me change it. Also, my check doesn't come until the middle of the month but they want it the first of the month and it's stressing me out! If I had to do it again, I would make sure that I'm working before I do it again. It was a long and aggravating process but they tried to work with me.

We had a deed issue somewhere down the line. We got a quote from a couple of other and Vanderbilt were the best out of the three. The home loan process went pretty smooth. The salesman pretty much handled everything. I had to provide him with the documents for the mortgage like tax, income, mail proof, proof of income (my wife has disability), W-2s, 1099s and they pretty much did the rest of it. Vanderbilt is also a little bit quicker in getting it approved than the other ones I had before this. From the pre-approval until closing was a couple of weeks. We just did a home-only loan and we didn’t have the deed work and all that to go with it. Payments is also auto online.

However, their interest rates are a little bit high for a home-only loan and their closing cost is also kind of expensive. I think they know that they’re one of the only ones that does home-only loans so it is what it is. We’re only doing a bi-weekly so we’re only doing about a 20-year mortgage on it. When they pre-approved, they quoted and then we ended up being $30 every two weeks more than the original one. But some of that was taxes and insurance because they just guessed on it, like the actual numbers are changed.

The process was time-consuming but there was a lot of stuff that goes into it so it was understandable. It took a little while but the approval was in a couple of days. Everyone we worked with was nice and informative. However, the loan is a new construction and considering how young we are, the interest rates are hard and awful. I wish they would be a little better but I don't think that's exactly their fault.

I'm satisfied with them and my new home. I got a mortgage for 30 years but I'm thinking of paying it off in 30 to 36 months. Closing the loan was all done on a screen and the rep who took my loan was really nice. If I had problems and I'd call him, he would call me right back. The home loan process went okay. Except we didn’t know what to do as far as with the tax from the county. We did a complaint on the Vanderbilt representative that we’ve worked with because we were charged $1,000. They broke the module before getting in touch with the county and we had to pay $1,060. We were penalized. We weren’t responsible because when we first went in, that was the main thing that we told them. We didn’t want to have anything to do with getting tax from the county for the module. We wanted them to do everything and that’s what they agreed with but at the end of the day, it didn’t happen.

Other lender processors wanted us to do all the legwork as far as to get the tax and difference we needed from the county. That was foreign language to me and I didn’t want to deal with that. That’s why we went with Vanderbilt because they said they would do all that for us and unfortunately, it didn’t happen like that. Entire process took almost two months. We got approved in December and a week before March 1st when we were due with our payment, we moved two weeks prior to our first payment and we should have moved a month prior to our first payment. I love my home but I just wasn’t happy with the service. But they were nice people. Next time, if something happens, then we know what to look for.

It went smoothly and there were no unexpected surprises. It was an FHA loan so it took a little bit longer. The interest rate was great and the representatives were also good. They were appropriate, very polite, respectful and helpful. But there was one redundancy, sometimes I’ve sent in the information and they would request it again. I will go ahead and resend it because I don’t know if they lost it, it just didn’t get there or the error was my fault. It happened twice. And I would deal with two or three different people. One person would be assigned as my loan officer and then I’d get another one and then another one. They’re saying the same and do repeat what was sort of bouncing back and forth. I don’t like that. Now, I didn’t care too much for it because one may not be aware of the information I gave to the other one. I like just dealing with one person but in a big organization, I don’t even know if that’s possible.

Vanderbilt initially approved me when they ran the credit check the first day I was picking out my home. Fortunately, they officially approved probably over two months. I started the process last September and the house was delivered to my home the last of December, but they had to put it together due to the foundation is tough and the weather really played havoc. I got out of my house on the first of February. Making payments is also easy. I just put them on automatic draft out of my checking account. When my pay hits at the first of the month, they take their payment out. I don’t have to worry about late or missing a payment or forgetting about it.

We've had our mortgage with Vanderbilt since October. When we started the process to try to buy our home, it took a year to get everything down. That was the Clayton manager Jamie's fault more than the mortgage company because they were trying to add $30,000 of land improvement onto our loan. We could only get a certain type of loan, and it only allowed for $15,000 worth of land improvement so it wasn’t the best deal we ever got.

All that we signed for the paperwork was stuff that wasn’t explained to us. It was just thrown in front of us and we were told, “If you don’t sign this, you don’t get your home.” That was the manager’s lack of tact, not Vanderbilt’s fault. He also offended me greatly when he told me to not to expect the perfect home that we just paid $70,000 for because Jesus didn’t work there. I'm Christian, so I found that really offensive. We still love our house and we get a way better interest rate, but Jamie was atrocious and he was the worst person of any sort I've ever dealt with.

I signed the paperwork with Vanderbilt Mortgage and everything took time. There were my issue and their issue of getting all the permits and trying to get help getting everything 'cause I've never done it before. I had a lot of questions and their rep, Tony, tried to answer them as well as he could and we had good interactions. The interest rate wasn’t bad for a new construction loan too and the mortgage was for 30 years. The whole process took over a year, though. A big part of it was the county that I live in then trying to get all the contractors lined up and there was the finished part. But both Vanderbilt and I stuck it out and it worked out really good at the end.

It would have been great if they were more organized, though. I told them that they should just get a packet that they give to people that shows everything that we need because they were having to take half a day going up the county and saying they missed the paper and we had to get it then something needs notarized. Otherwise, the end result was perfect.

The home loan process with Vanderbilt Mortgage went smoothly and they answered any questions I had. I'm in the process of trying to change my draft date because I'm not happy with the way it's falling. They draft on the 12th and send out their statement on the 10th so it looks like I'm owing that month and the month ahead and I don't like that. I sent them two emails and they will not write. So, I sent a letter. I wished they had explained it to me that I should have it further in the month and I would’ve went ahead and said we’ll take at the 5th. Every time I'd call them, they'd say it's fine and they already drafted it but I've already got the letter. Maybe I've got it straightened out.

But when everything came in, it was approved then we had a closing. The reps were very helpful when I had questions. However, I think the interest rates were extremely high and that's because the home is not just a regular one. Also, my husband and I have always been particular about paying the bills on time and sometimes we don't get them early in the month. I hope there's a way that those be mailed in and sent on the 1st of the month so we don't have to worry about the payments. Other than that, everything worked out smoothly.

Then they will say, “Well, you don’t make enough.” After going through a lot of stuff I then had to obtain a co-signer. But other than that it was easy. They were real helpful, kind and nice. Got a home loan through Vanderbilt and process took two weeks. It was pretty quick and fairly simple, and their reps seem to be alright. But I could have had a better rate from them if I shopped around. Although it came with a home insurance for the term of the loan. The only thing that's concerned me is that they haven't sent me a white title yet, although I haven't called them back yet on that. They've told me I had to register with the tax place and without a title, it was going to be hard to do.

I haven't been with Vanderbilt long. So far, I've made three payments with them and they’ve been easy to work with. They really looked after me when I bought the place. They kept in contact with me and have done me right the whole time. I had a little money that’s been donated to me because my place burnt down. That’s the reason I even had to buy another place. I had no insurance so that killed me. I had some churches and contractors that we worked for who all took up money and got me about $5,800 which I took and paid down on my new place.

The interest rate I got was fine because I don’t think I've got real perfect credit. The home insurance and my property tax are all in with my payment so I do one payment a month. I've been calling them and giving my routing number because I misplaced my bank card, and they're supposed to be sending me a new one. I haven't moved in yet but I'm getting a roofing inspection today and then they’ll come out and do a final, and then that’s when they'll give power. I'm just doing everything out of my pocket right now which makes it a little slower. But overall, my experience has been great. They’ve been good to me.

Application at Vanderbilt Mortgage was good but it takes too long to get someone to call you back. When you're in the process of figuring out what you're going to do and you have questions, you could call someone at 8:00 AM, but not get a call back until 6:00 PM or the next morning. I don't doubt that they're busy but 8 to 10 hours between phone calls is not to my liking. Also, I can never get the mortgage lady on the phone without leaving a voicemail or email saying "Hey, can you call me back?". One time, I called her around 9:00 AM and she called me back around 2:00 PM.

I was also disappointed in the lady who did our closing. She said, "you have a 15-day grace period". When the third of last month came, I was planning on paying my mortgage soon when I get a phone call from a lady and I end up calling her back. When I did, they said, "she's on the phone talking to this other lady". I called this other lady and she rudely said: "you don’t have a 15-day grace period". I said, "the closing agent told me I had a 15-day grace period and I have a piece of paper from you that said 'You don't get a late payment before 15 days’". She rudely replied, "you don't get a late payment before 15 days, but your payment is due on the first".

I was really aggravated by her. I got rude too because I felt that I'm a new person and I've never been through this before. It's not like I'm a pro and I buy houses every week. If I did, I probably wouldn't go to Vanderbilt. She said, "the closing agent doesn't work for us". I said, "How was I supposed to know this". The closing agent did not come in saying "I'm an independent closing agency, I don't have an affiliation with Vanderbilt". I was very disappointed that the closing agent told me one thing yet Vanderbilt's lady was telling me another and she's getting mad at me because I took the closing agent's word and not hers. I said "Not that I'm not taking your word, I'm just telling you that we were planning our bills out because I get paid biweekly. We were planning to pay you out of this upcoming paycheck because I have a 15-day grace period”.

Despite this incident, approval was fast and closing went well. Everything else between getting them and the agent on the phone went well also. Once we got everything settled, I was the hold up after that because of getting the down payment from my 401(k) company. But my experience with Vanderbilt was still more bad than good.

They're still treating us like we were 18 even though I'm 25 and she's 23. Then, Clayton Homes who sold us this house mentioned Vanderbilt to us. They said Vanderbilt's great and they're always the best for the customers. From there, Vanderbilt gave us a great deal and great financing and we were sold.

I remember filling out some paperwork for signing up and getting the okay really quick, which was something we were really needing because all the other places were wanting to durdle with it. They didn't require us to show everything in the world like all of our information and birth certificates. They were very professional and good to us. They got back to us within a week so they were very quick and we were able to get everything done. My wife was very close to having our baby around the time. That was October, we got the house down in November and then, the baby was born on Christmas. Also, a big thing was that they showed us respect. We're great and we couldn't be happier but some more marketing would be good for millennials looking for housing.

I lost a house in '99 from the flood and the mortgage went to 21st Mortgage. After I got my house paid for, I asked if they would finance another home for me and they wouldn't. I've heard good stuff about Vanderbilt and they didn't give me any hassle so that's why I chose them to finance my house. They're good with financing and I like the interest rate. They took my old house for trade-in and they allowed me $8,000 for that. I had to turn around and pay $2,000 some more down on this house and they financed the rest. I'm on a fixed income and I wanted to work where I could've lowered the payments a little bit but the rep told me that's what I had to pay.

I like Vanderbilt Mortgage but I've had a lot of problem with their contractor, Oakwood House. I told a rep that I would not buy another house from their company because they act like they don't care whether or not they fix my house or not. I told him it's a $60,000 house and they should not play around with me when it comes to my money. The house sat here four months before they ever did anything to it and when I asked about stuff, they wouldn't tell me anything.

The front and back door have got to be replaced. Water was coming in the back door. I called them and the lady from the factory told me they'd do it until the path dries out. But, they tore the path up terribly when they put the house in here 'cause the weather was bad. When the man pulled in in a trailer, he went down in the ditch with it. I was upset. I told them they were supposed to put gutters on the side of the house and the lady said they don't do all the houses like that. Then they sent a man here that was doing the air conditioning and he came through the front door and had mud all over his feet. A tech also came to fix the ceiling but I’m not satisfied with it because I can still see the cracks.

Also, the molding in the carpet that they put in the living room wasn't fixed on the wall like it was supposed to. They also cut the carpet so short and I can see where they cut it. The carpet needs to be replaced but they would not do that. The lady from the factory told me if I ordered one, they could've changed it. I'm upset with Oakwood. I wish they had a home I wanted in Roanoke Rapids which is Clayton Homes and I'd go on with it because that house was in no way like this. Other than that, the people in Vanderbilt are nice and that matters a whole lot.

Their rep was very responsive and answered all my questions. He knew exactly what he needed. The process was a little bit complicated for me because I was going through a divorce and had to get my name off of my other mortgage so I had to send additional information, but it was known upfront that that was needed. Moreover, I would have loved for the interest rate to be even lower than what he got for me. But I understood because it's a mobile home and I didn’t want to put the property up since it would take longer. Overall, it went very well and I was very pleased.

We were looking at buying a modular or manufactured home for our property out in the country and went to different places in the area looking at the housing. Vanderbilt was one of the mortgage lenders that they use and given our financial background, we were told that they were probably the best one to use. There were some difficulty in scheduling appointments and we had to wait for things to come in. There was some disorganization and lack of communication between the mobile home sellers and Vanderbilt. I already recognized that part of the communication problem is definitely with people we bought the mobile home from. And so I don't know how much it could be attributed back to Vanderbilt. We have to close almost four and a half weeks later than we wanted to. The house was sitting there on the lot and it was just ridiculous.

We had good credit scores and it wasn't due to lack of financing, but it's just that they weren't moving as quickly as they should have and there were lots of lack of communication. I'm a human resources manager and my husband is a purchasing manager. So we're people that deal with business matters on a daily basis. And for me, communication and training is a big part of it. And when we went through the entire loan application process and paperwork, there were times they were saying "just sign here, just sign there." I read what I sign and there were some things that I did not feel were represented correctly. I questioned it and was given some pat answers which were not the real answers. And then I was told it really doesn't matter on some stuff.

In the end, my husband and I chose to sign on some things that were not real significant. I have a problem with that especially when they're trying to breeze you on through. And for a lot of consumers they would just sign away and won't read the stuff. And here we were reading it. That bothered me. I would hope it's not true on other cases. We have bought five homes within our 20 years, and we've never had it handled that way before.

Also, some of the answers to the questions we had during the application process were not given real good turnaround. And once again, it made them to educate the people who were asking the questions instead of ones who really didn't care. And the last thing that really ticked me off was when they gave us information on what the insurance would be on the house if we got it through them. And I said that we're gonna shop around because we had a budget we were working with. We've been with State Farm for over 30 years, and we're using Farm Bureau on our new property up here.

I shopped around with both and we got a favorable rating. So we're going with that and our Farm Bureau person up here got the information down. The information was sent by Farm Bureau to them and lo and behold, about three weeks after we've had the house, I got a letter from Vanderbilt about not being insured and if they didn't have definite word from us in x number of days, they were gonna start charging us for the insurance they had chosen.

We had done all of our work weeks before, and I had proof of it. I just called our insurance company and said, "Mick, I know you did the work. You gave me copies of it." And I told him what happened. He said, "Don't even worry about it. I'll take care of it all. I will pull it all and I will resend it and I'll also follow up with a phone call and let you know." He did exactly what he said he would do. He'd already done it the first time. And there again, whether the information dropped with Clayton Home or with Vanderbilt, I don't know. We will not use either one of them ever again. We are not recommending either one of them. We're happy with the house and satisfied overall but we won't do it again. And we may very well re-finance, and get out of Vanderbilt at some point.

The online setting up for payments was a piece of cake. It's very well done and good communication. Getting our information in the mail each month is going very smoothly. So there are definitely some systems they have going well. I'm not sure where the communication broke down before and it could very well be that the bulk of it is on Clayton Homes. We know for sure Clayton Homes has definitely big communication problems because I pinpointed some things and talked to their manager on some training issues. They have issues and they know it so it could be that Vanderbilt does a pretty decent job but they got caught in the crossfire.

My home loan process with Vanderbilt Mortgage really went well. This was my first time buying a home and they were easy to contact. I was a very happy and satisfied customer, and I will recommend them to someone else.

The people that we bought our trailer from told us about Vanderbilt. When signing up with them, all I did was show up, sign the papers and set the house up. So far, they have been fine, and so with the loan.

Everything's been good with Vanderbilt Mortage except a few things weren’t done while they were supposed to have been. My account was supposed to have been set up for bi-weekly automatic draft payments and this was back in September when I purchased the home. I had to call and make every payment. I've talked to about 10 or 12 different people and always got the same answer which was they'd look into it but this still hasn't been done. But the reps have been really nice and the loan process, which includes the paperwork, was really good.

My parents bought a home from Clayton Homes and they used the same bank so they recommended Vanderbilt Mortgage. I didn't have any problem getting approved for the mobile home and it was fast and easy enough. Vanderbilt always answered all my questions and sent me letters telling me everything that I needed to know. They would call me to make sure everything was okay. To make payments, I call their bank, gave them my account number and routing number so they can take out the money out of my bank account. They asked me how much I wanted to pay each month and that was it. However, the interest rate was high probably because it was my first time buying something. Hopefully I can refinance my home and have a better interest. Other than that, I'm happy with them. They gave me the opportunity to buy a new home. I would recommend them to someone else.

Vanderbilt Mortgage took payments I already sent in and they are still not finished with my trailer. I've called up and they said they'd fix it but they haven't come out yet. I couldn't tell anymore the number of times I've called them. I am very dissatisfied. I'm ready to go up there and tell them to come and get my trailer. They told me that they would do everything they promised but they had done nothing. The molding inside my house is popping off the walls. I accidentally broke it, but it ain't worth two cents. They didn't even put my steps up, they just threw them on the ground. I had to get another man to come out and put my steps up for me. I fell backwards off of them the day before yesterday as they're wobbly. I thought about getting a lawyer. If I fell backwards, they would have to pay my hospital bill.

They even told me my life bill would be cheap in that trailer but it's not. I got so many complaints on that trailer. It's unreal. This is my second payment I've sent in. I thought about not even sending another payment in but it would ruin my credit. I'm not satisfied with that trailer. It's supposed to be a brand new trailer but it isn't. Everything in it is cheap.

I’d used Vanderbilt Mortgage a long time ago and my wife used them a couple of times too. The process was a little drawn out but they got that fixed up. It was pretty much not Vanderbilt but it was the trading companies. I make my payments to Vanderbilt Mortgage by check and it's pretty simple.

Vanderbilt offered me a 20 year finance loan. They seemed to be more connected with Clayton than the other ones were so we went with them. The lady that did our loan treated us like they know us. She even asked how our pregnancy was going so they didn't just care about the money. A lot of times, I would call in whenever things would happen, and she would call me. They were really helpful and knew what they were doing.

I was told about Vanderbilt Mortgage through the mobile home company that we got our trailer through. Everything with the loan process went smoothly. It was easy to get ahold of them. Randy was really great with us. He kept me on top of everything that was going on. I really liked him. I would definitely recommend Vanderbilt Mortgage.

I'm a satisfied customer. Vanderbilt was very helpful and communicative. They called me and let me know everything was working in progress. The representative helped me out a lot with the online process and setting up my mortgage payments. He showed me how to do it on the phone and walked me through it. As soon as I was told Vanderbilt was going to look upon my request on the loan, they set an appointment and finished it fast. Everything opened and closed real quick. Everything was great.
