So I have been banking what time for about two and a half years and they are always coming up with new features and new ways to assist their customers. Chime is the best banking financial institution that I have ever had and I've been with quite a few. They have an awesome no fee overdraft program. They allow you to transfer money to other members they have, the 2-day early deposit and they also have the credit card which helps build your credit along with many many other amazing features. Since I've been with them they have progressed so much within a short period of time and I am so excited to see what's to come in the near and far future.

I have been with the Chime family for over 4 years, I have never had such better customer Care, Service and Banking handled so flawlessly. When we went through the hardest time of all our lives, My chime family created a way to be of more help to us. They too had been affected by this Pandemic and still thought about Me and my family. If you have a concern or a dispute the bot system in place is extremely helpful not to mention the response time from a representative once you file your request. Just know if you pick CHIME they definitely have your back. "Chime for the whole family."

I have been with Chime for probably two years if not longer. In the beginning I joined out of convenience and necessity, it was easy to send money back and forth between a few people who already had the card and the lack of fees and extra charges is what made it even more appealing. I quickly fell in love with the card I decided to enroll in direct deposit and shortly after it became my primary financial institution. I have access to free ATMs all over Phoenix Az. I don’t pay any extra fees for cash back or penalties for low balance. Soon after I was eligible for spot me feature and it was great. It covered me on those days where I may have been short. But the time I realized the integrity of the company was during the Covid pandemic. Man let me tell you. They raised the spot me for so many. They gave out prizes and benefits. They gave an option to use the chime credit building card.

So many different little perks and after you get paid and you pay back the spot me there’s no fees. Just a small request to submit a tip that will allow chime to continue providing these great perks and the tip is optional. It’s not even a pushy request. They make it clear it won’t affect you and it doesn’t. I am very grateful for my account. Spot me saved me. I was going through a rough patch during the peak of COVID and right then I got the email of the increase. It was like a miracle.. So thank you Chime for the services and products you provide and your all around genuine care for your customers

Used to bank with Chase for 6 years, switched to Chime after seeing their commercials on t.v. Have had a much better experience and services with chime, chase pays on the day and goes by a deposit date. With chime, they deposit once received and it's usually between 24-48 hours. With spot me, it's a great feature to have if you have a bill due last minute, groceries etc. Overall, very happy with the services. 5++,

I filed a dispute that was only supposed to take 90 days, because of the amount I didn’t qualify for a provisional credit and that was fine because I submitted documents showing that I paid my insurance company and they canceled my insurance after they gotten the payment and I had to quickly get insurance with another insurance company, after speaking to the dispute Department that took over 3 months, they stated that it wasn’t an error and my money will not be put back in my account. UNACCEPTABLE, I do like Chime for the fact that I get paid early BUT their customer service is RIDICULOUS, I know if I had this problem with a reputable bank, then I know I would have had my money back immediately without having to wait 4 months. It's got me out of a bind many times. And instead of paying a bunch of overdraft fees all they ask for is a tip which I try to tip them a few bucks every week. I hope chime takes over all the banks. Banks are rip offs bb and it got me for almost 800.00 and Wells Fargo had to send me money back that they took off me for no reason. Chime has never took nothing from me. Bottom line Chime is the number one banking system and as long as they are in business I will be a customer. Keep up the great work chime. Ya'lll are the best in the business.

I signed up for the secured credit card, with little expectation of the unbelievable results that ensued. My credit has gone up at least 80 points since I have been using the credit builder card. I’ve been using the credit builder card for over four months and it still hasn’t been reported to the credit bureau. So far everything that they’ve promised has been a lie. They have fake incentives to make you sign up and more your direct deposit over from your other bank. Then when you call their customer department they just give you the runaround. They always have to escalate to a department you can’t speak with, and that department will just send you a generic email. They’ve sent that same generic email for 3 different problems. Initially, Chime took pretty good care of me. However, I failed to read the fine print concerning daily withdrawals. Chime doesn't allow more than 500 dollars per day to be taken from an ATM, or Transferred with Western Union, and/or MoneyGram. Typically I don't make withdrawals this large, however, I am trying to catch up on back rent, so that I won't be evicted. At the moment, my apartments are only accepting transfers, because the balance is past due.

When I called, customer service didn't show a lot of interest in bending the rules. What they told me is that I could go to convenience stores, and get cashback with my purchases. (That's not going to take all day.) However, this was the extent that Chime was willing to go to help me withdraw my money in order to pay back rent. And, this would be a ONE-time thing. I just want to get caught up, so that I can move on. You would think, with the government setting aside billions of dollars to make sure that people can pay their rent, that Chime would bend the rules for someone once. DON'T COUNT ON IT. Customer Service was insensitive, dismissive, and distant.

Chime "Bank" is absolutely the most horrendous financial institution out there. First of all, they outsource ALL of their Customer "Service" agents to some 3rd World country to save a few bucks, and you can barely understand anyone. I submitted a fraud claim regarding 63 transactions that occurred in The U.K. (I live in The U.S.A.), almost $850 in fraudulent transactions, they said a provisional credit would be applied within 10 business days if the claim wasn't finalized by then.

    They never did.

I had to call them back to figure out what the hell was going on, they "escalated" the claim and told me to wait another 3 business days to get the provisional credit, meaning someone LITERALLY wasn't doing their job. 3 business days later, they denied my claim and said it was closed, however the individual transactions say "Still working on it" with a Closed claim status via the Chime App. Oh, also, they want you, the customer, to print out and fill out by hand all the transactions and charges being disputed/submitted as fraudulent. What the hell year are we in, 1993?

I tried to get a hold of the claims dept, and got transferred about 3 times until I finally got a Customer Service "Manager," she was EXTREMELY rude and kept talking over me and cutting me off, never gave me an answer to my question of "If the provisional credit was supposed to be issued within 10 business days, then why was it never issued?" I even asked her to put me on hold and go talk to someone in the claims dept, because apparently they literally don't have phones in that dept (at least, that's what she told me) and no communication is available via telephone between customer or employees to the claims dept. What an absolute joke of a "bank," STAY AWAY!

Yesterday I tried transferring funds from my Chime account to my personal Bank of America account. I was not able to because I was prompted to activate my chime card. However my card has not arrived yesterday nor today. I called customer service and the issue was not resolved. The options were to link to a 3rd party institution. I tried that with Cash app and it still did not work. The other option was to pull it from my bank, but if I do that I will be charged a fee. Another option that was presented was that I can shop with the temporary card. Which is not what I'm trying to do. I'm not trying to shop. All I want to do is move my own money from my Chime account to my personal bank account and I can't because my card has not arrived which is no fault of my own.

I should not be penalized and be unable to move my own money because the postal system has not delivered my Chime card. I should have the option to freely transfer money even if the card has not arrived and once the card arrives I should be able to proceed but in the meantime the card has not arrived and I cannot do any transactions which is unfair to me as a new customer. I am extremely dissatisfied and I do not want to recommend Chime to anyone and once I have this matter resolved I would prefer to close my account.

I love the app because I can manage all my finances. Overdraft protection if you need a little help. Great online bank.

So on May 07, 2021 I go to 7 11 and load $500 cash money onto the card. That night I go to withdraw some cash and was declined! I call the number on the back of the card and find out they closed my account! I checked my e mail and received an email congratulating me on opening an account then on the same day received another email saying they closed my account!

You can call their so called customer service number but you will not get to speak to a human being. Plus I find out I won't be seeing my money which will be in a form of a check for 30 days! So now I sit here broke for 30 days! They got my money in a matter of seconds so why can't they issue my money within 7 to 10 business days? This company needs to be investigated by the Federal Trade Commission or something! Class Action Suit. I'm on board! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CHIME. This company isn't even accredited by the BBB.

Chime advertised 2 day early direct deposit, that's about the only thing that works as claimed. I routinely send deposits from eBay managed payments, and it can take 2 or more days for them to arrive, where a real bank (Chase in my case) they arrive within an hour of midnight. Customer service is useless, they don't bother to explain why they hide my money for multiple days. In fact they pretty much give you no info at all. Once you sign up for credit builder they automatically move your deposits into that, rather than letting you choose when.

I have been a Chime customer for a couple of years. This year they started the Chime credit builder. I've been working to build my credit so I signed up thinking it would be a good thing. The first thing the "credit builder" did was doing my credit and it went down 30 points. I decided that I didnt like that messing with my credit that way especially out the gate so I opted out.

And lo and behold, I check my credit today and they have socked my credit again for 30 points after I got it going back up again. I'm sick of these so called companies offering to "help" make your circumstances better when they make it worse to begin with. How is it helping when they do hard check against you in the first place? Doesn't make sense. I'm peeved. I'm down 60 points after that and I dont see how that was supposed to benefit me as a banker and consumer with them. So, I believe that it's safe to say that they are not here to help in that aspect. So, just be aware. It says "credit builder", so why are they tearing it down from the start? How many points do you get for complying? Is it as much as they took?? I don't know! (Shrugs)

On April 24, 2021 I noticed fraudulent activity on my Chime Credit Builder card. On April 22nd my card was used fraudulently 6 times at exactly 6:05pm at Target's in Las Vegas NV totaling $1,142.36. On April 23rd my card was used once at 7:58pm at Target in Henderson NV totaling $192.00. April 24th I noticed this activity and called to dispute these to Chime. I filed the dispute and sent back the dispute form as requested. Chime cancelled the card and stated that they would mail me a new card. On April 24th my card was again used fraudulently at Target 13 times at exactly 8:04pm. I again called Chime to dispute these charges and again was told that the card was off and that the disputes department would look into this and that it could take up to 90 days. At this point I spoke to a members services agent who told me that the card had been used at multiple different locations around Southern California at the exact same minute.

On April 27th I received and activated my new card and transferred $1.41 into my credit builder account. On May 4th at exactly 5:18pm my old card was used 4 times at Target totaling $824.00 and another dispute was filed with Chime and same steps were taken in changing my passwords, etc. On May 5th my old card was again used at Target totaling $66.81. I filed yet another dispute with Chime and this dispute was resolved same day. At this point I had both my old card and my new card deactivated. No purchases should have been able to go through and a new card was being sent to me. On May 10th at exactly 4:55pm just as I was clocking out for lunch at work my first card was charged 11 times at Target totaling $2993.01. I reported this to chime on May 10.

On May 11th I called the dispute department to make sure they had received all documentation and additional documentation that I had including screenshots of my location at the time of every single dispute, my Target shopping history both in store and online and my clock in from work. All disputes were closed by May 12, 2021 stating that my dispute was denied. I asked for more information on why a dispute was previously denied and was sent an email containing a basic printout of the transactions and the time and station ID of transactions. To me this is not proof at all. Today I received an email that my account would be closed as of June 1, 2021. When I asked the Chime agent the reason he said that it was not listed. I do not want to be held responsible for these fraudulent charges. I have done my due diligence in reporting within a reasonable time. Chime, literally, does none of the crappy bank stuff and does everything you really need your bank to do. I just deposited a large check, using the mobile check cashing feature, on the first attempt and you know what the fee was? ZERO.

I have a Spot Me amount of $100 if I am a little short before payday (also, ZERO!) and I have a separate Credit Builder account that uses the money I deposit, to build my credit and report it monthly to credit agencies. I do nothing except spend the money I deposit, they do everything else! Oh, and they gave me a super awesome METAL credit card after x-amount of purchases! It is so legit, I hate to be this shallow, but it validates me (lol). I love Chime and would 100% recommend them to anyone who will listen!

At first everything was pretty good! Sending money to family was so easy and instantly received, earned 1.0, no fees, extra $40-$100 offered free that you can borrow to cover overdrafts if necessary even! I thought wow this is how banks should be! Several months go by and interest rate suddenly drops no warning, few weeks after that my account is suddenly frozen without warning or with permission or even a notification sent to me and how I found out was when I had an emergency a day or 2 after it was frozen. I needed money right away of course and I couldn’t use my card or get any help from them to send money to my husband's account even, NOTHING. They pretty much said, "Oh well you’ll have to wait for the new card in the mail!" I was told it was because they thought a fraudulent transaction was made which it wasnt it was mine and they declined the payment on top of it.

Then several months after that is when THE BIG “I CANT BELIEVE YOU DID THIS” EVENT HAPPENED!! THEY HAD BEEN STEALING MY PAYMENTS TO A NEW CREDIT CARD I JUST OPENED!! I was trying to create a higher credit score for myself after many many years of not ever needing or thinking of such things. But smh, I stupidly didn’t notice it happening until the 3rd payment! The first 2 payments only one was sent but the CC company that it went to took over a week to process the payments and with 6 daughters and the 500 emails I get a day and holy hectic life, I just missed the email that it was declined. I was new to the internet on top of it which didn’t help at all..

The second time it happened I had a lot of activity on it and didn’t keep track of the balance close enough to dispute the amounts chime said I had at the time of the transactions but oddly though I could have sworn there was plenty in there to cover everything, I know there was but couldn’t prove it so I said I’m not letting that happen again. I'm making screenshots before and after of each major transaction so they can’t ever tell me I had insufficient funds ever again! So the 3rd transaction to my CC Company I had to make a triple payment to catch up on my balance and payments which was $250! Payments I made already but had to pay again because it caused overdue payments, late fees, and my credit score dropped almost 100points the next month from it!! I had to pay it all immediately and Couldn’t wait for Chime to pay me back or it would only get worse and well it did!

My card was closed even though I paid it and told they wouldn’t reinstate me because I just opened it and they never got paid but 1 payment! I tried to defend myself but I had no luck (which was kind of mean of Credit one Bank to do especially that I had proof of the illegal behavior Chime did to me)! So I am very insulted by them having no compassion whatsoever. I just kept saying, "Please don’t do this to me. It’ll ruin my credit even more that I’ve tried so very hard to raise to buy a decent car and a little house for us." I contacted and argued and pleased and argued some more and showed them my photos and figures from Jan - and every other day since up to today, over 4 months of demanding they pay me back, I have proof. How dare you say I had insufficient funds each time I made a payment!!

They would flat out lie to me and send the same scripted response, word for word by every single CS rep I contacted and I’ve submitted over 30 requests and complaints to every branch of communication I could access too! Now I’m out for blood and will take this to the next level and sue them for ruining my credit, my credit scores, my trustworthiness to my card companies and the domino effect caused by it all. They have to be brought to justice for this blatant deviant behavior! I’m not giving up one bit! You messed with the wrong Mom CHIME! I can’t even sleep anymore over this. I feel so frustrated and stabbed in the back! Ughh.

So, a software bank company is extremely great at that. I told them it came from the government. I gave them the address. I just opened it. So great..."Sorry, it was rejected, we can't do anything about it." If you can't do anything about deposits, that's a basic function from banks. I contacted Chime to reopen the case and I received an email a few hours later stating that they are sticking with their decision. Chime wants me to personally provide proof that I didn't spend or receive the funds of a nonexistent charge before I can reopen the case again. They actually want me to do their investigation... I have called them every day and I am told something different every time. I was told that the first person I spoke with miscategorized my dispute; now, I'm told it is a duplicate charge.

Their representatives are extremely rude, each of them tell me something different and none of them are of any help. I am now stuck with a negative balance that my direct deposits are going towards. They can't explain to me how this has happened. I feel totally violated and victimized by my own bank.. I am not sure where to turn for help. I have records of calls, a statement and a Detective is in the process of gathering other documentation. I just want my story heard to protect people from such a crooked company that obviously doesn't care about their customers and or clients. Any and all help getting the word out would be greatly appreciated.

Opened a Chime Account and was promised $75 as referral bonus. Used the Chime provided link to refer someone and they used the link, followed the instructions, set-up direct deposit but never received referral bonus. Contacted customer service and was advised that the person I referred did not use the link that was provided. I knew this was a lie because the person I referred was my husband; I sent him the link and signed him up from his phone using the actual link that I sent him (he was too lazy to do it himself).

The Supervisor I spoke with sounded like a used car salesmen and kept saying how he Would Never lie and that the link was never accessed and used. Seriously!! Come on - when I told him I actually did everything for my husband, he started to stutter and said I must have done something wrong. How can you possibly signup incorrectly if they create the link for you to send. The entire situation annoyed me because I could see right through the foolishness. He even went as far to say, "I just tested the link and it is working fine, just refer more people using the link and it will work, I promise - I would NEVER LIE." I was so disgusted with the foolishness I hung up - we both closed our accounts. Sometimes Brick & Mortar is just better.

Although Chime does have a very user friendly app that makes it convenient to see your stuff, I would NOT recommend Chime to anyone after my experience. I worked at a bank for a year, and I know how banking is supposed to work. They make it "easy" to link your other checking accounts to Chime, but what you don't know is if you transfer funds to Chime, it could take up to a FULL SEVEN days, that's FIVE business days to credit your funds. Ironically enough, this didn't happen to me when I transferred funds under $100. It took 2 or 3 days.

When I transferred $1400 to Chime, it showed up available 5 days after my bank paid them. I called and spoke to two managers and two supervisors, and all of them tried to tell me they couldn't make my ACH deposit available even though I very well know ACH funds are ALWAYS immediate funds at any legitimate bank. The app showed me it would be available on the 7th day, and it gave me a date. However, it didn't actually release my funds until 3pm the day.

What gets me, though, is how AWFUL and inept the training is for the management. I had a supervisor refuse to transfer me to a manager until I verified my account when I had just done so with the automatic answering AND the agent who transferred me to her. I had to ask FIVE times before she finally transferred me. Lisset also wouldn't tell me how to spell her name correctly when I asked her a few times. She made sure she didn't say it quickly, and she says she isn't allowed to give me her last name. The manager Rick didn't do anything to help me but tell me, "Oh, it could take still another day. And there's nothing I can do and there's no one who can help you." Sure, I believe that.

Then, when I closed the account because they would not permit a second name or a POD, it has been over a month, and they are still holding my balance of over $30,000 without paying interest since the closure--naturally. My check has not been mailed yet according to the agents to whom I have spoken. Also, there are no native English-speaking customer service agents. All agents are in foreign call centers. When I asked about a POD since they will not permit joint accounts, I was told to put it in my will and have my heirs go through probate to get my money.

The company somehow obtained my checking account number and routing number and went directly into my account to bill me for an outrageous amount and CHIME allowed them to do so. At first CHIME reversed the direct debit then weeks later they reapplied the amount back into my checking account thus making me overdraft over $5,000. They are also currently taking my stimulus checks the government mistakenly sent to them during the pandemic, because they didn't know I have since closed the account. Chime is not acknowledging my account is closed and is taking my checks and doing what they will with it. It does not state that you cannot make multiple payments of a deposit into your account or you would never get refer which I know a lot of people like me are just getting the card to expect that referral money and if that's if so and you did not receive it that is the reason why because they did not state in the details that you cannot make multiple payments of a deposit into the account. Wholly dissatisfied and will never refer anyone to this company because it's already bad enough that you cannot use this card at a lot of places besides that a goddamn gas station. A check I had them send was never received by my landlord and never cashed. I called Chime to place a simple stop payment on my account. The representatives (it took 5 of them) who barely spoke English, instead of placing the simple stop payment, "disputed" the check and I soon received an email stating the dispute was denied and would NOT be getting my rent money back.

I called yet again and spoke to someone else who barely spoke English, who told me what I already knew, that this is a simple stop payment and the money would be placed in my account within 3 days. I then looked in my account after 3 days and discovered that they had placed a stop payment on the proper check, and another check that had absolutely nothing to do with my original lost check. Chime was great UNTIL the day I needed a representative to help, these people are not trained properly to work for a so called "bank" and do not care about the level of service that a Bank employee needs to. I am leaving Chime so this never happens again as unfortunately I can never get back the time and effort I had to go through for a simple bank transaction to be done property. I really liked Chime at first due to the user-friendliness of the app and the fact that you don’t get stuck with ridiculous overdraft fees if you overdraw your account. The spot me feature was great. Up until recently, I didn’t have any problems with Chime, but it seems like there is a flaw in their security or something. First, it started with hackers trying to use my card online, but Chime had flagged all of those transactions and I was able to get another card which is a pretty minor inconvenience but still had to wait for the new card in the mail.

The second time my account was hacked and like many others on here reviewing, all of my money, 2200 dollars to be exact was transferred to an unknown person via the pay friends feature. I was on hold with Chime for over an hour and was basically told they had to investigate and wouldn’t receive any money back for at least two weeks. I did end up getting my money back and had it moved over to another account with another bank. Shortly after I received my money back they closed my account with no explanation. I just received an email stating that they were ending their relationship with me. Luckily there was no money left in that account as I had already transferred it all somewhere else. While the Chime Credit Builder card sounds good upfront it's not what it seems to be. First off because you set your own credit limit based on money deposited, the credit bureau does not have a benchmark of what percentage of credit is utilized. Second the statements are very confusing on what you spent and what was paid. Last but not least Chime is in no hurry to update balances to the bureaus. Mine has been paid in full since November 20, 2020 but the credit bureaus show I still owe 67 dollars. My advice go with a standard secured card if you wish to improve your credit.

Chime Bank completely ignores their customers and provides ZERO ability to speak with a real person even when money has been stolen from their account. I went to make a purchase Saturday morning and it was declined. I logged into my bank account to find that somebody had hacked into my Chime account, transferred all of my money from my Credit Builder account and Savings account into my Spending Account, and then used the Pay Friends feature to transfer that entire balance out of my bank account, leaving me with NOTHING. I proceeded to call Chime Bank and followed all of the prompts to get to a person, at which point I was told that there as an extended hold time due to call volume and to use the app and the call was disconnected. How is it possible to have a hold time if there isn't even an option to speak to someone? Of course, I went onto the app and reached out and submitted a request.

The irony in the fact that their chatbot tell you "I'm here you you 24/7" and then logs and completely ignores your request is not lost. That is just insulting. That money has now been missing from my account for 58 hours with ABSOLUTELY ZERO CONTACT FROM CHIME. There is no ability within the app to disable the Transfer to Friends feature, which I find ridiculous, especially in light of the fact that there are SO MANY COMPLAINTS online that this actually happens quite often to Chime Bank customers over and over through the exact same method. I've never used that feature before and have no need or desire to and I definitely think that there should be the ability to disable it and also a multiple authentication process required when transferring money out of the app to another person.

Even if someone had hacked my account, if there had been a second authentication required, it could have prevented them from being able to complete that transaction. I NEED MY MONEY BACK ASAP. Chime Bank needs to have human beings available for customers to speak with in cases of fraud at ALL TIMES. No person should have to wait going on 3 days to even get a response. I've got 4 kids to take care of and I'm a single parent, so getting this money back is of the utmost importance.

I regrettably joined Chime a few months ago. My objective was to find an account that I can manage my monthly expenses without the concern of massive loss as a result of fraud. I deposited funds on a need by basis. The first 45 days was ideal considering I had no real need to speak to anyone from members of the “service“ department. The first time I inquired of an unauthorized charge was the beginning of many horrific experiences. I submitted an official dispute with the correct department following instructions receiving a response in 28- days with no courtesy of a conditional credit pending the investigation. The results- “no errors found“. I immediately displayed my dissatisfaction Via the telephone. I highly disagreed with their results as I am fully aware of my daily transactions.

Receiving only repeated apologies from what appears to be foreigners located in another country; I decided to take matters into my own hands by contacting the merchant responsible for this charge and received a refund in the form of a check. I conveyed my successful attempt to members of Chime. I asked multiple members of the dispute department why it was so complicated for them to find a resolve in that grossly amount of time and it only took me 48 hours? I continue to receive apologies from individuals displaying a major language barrier and an unauthentic level of concern. Members of Chime are very quick to apologize but they offered no real efforts in helping the customer.

The second issue I discovered was a delayed refund. I returned an item and was promised a refund in a certain amount of time that did not occur. I submitted another dispute form clearly stating that a refund was not completed as promised. A member of Chime, again displaying a major language barrier, apologizing as we discussed the second dispute resulting in the same quote “no errors found”. I was informed by a member of chime that no “fraud” was discovered. I was appalled at this response considering I didn't file a fraud dispute but a failure to refund dispute.

After emailing a thread from the store manager regarding the approval of a full refund chime still declined the refund. I contacted the accounting department of the merchant to gain further clarity as to the delay even though I received in writing this commitment. I was informed by the merchant that several attempts to refund my money via the Chime debit card was attempted, however, Chime declined the funds. I circled back around to chime who of course offered another apology and offered to submit another dispute. I declined and proceeded to request a check from the merchant which I received. The third and final issue is regarding the return of a two hotel authorizations.

I was scheduled for travel due to work demands and decided to use my replacement chime card that I received three weeks later instead of the seven days that they promised. I checked into a hotel, and checked out, two days later. I noticed the delay regarding my large authorization hold being refunded. I contacted the Renaissance Hotel who confirmed to me in writing that the hold was released the following day of checkout. I dreaded contacting Chime regarding this delay.

After my third attempt to contact a member of Chime being on hold for over 35 minutes; I was faced with yet another road block by Chime. A member of Chime after forcing me too confirm two different transactions which normally they only require your last settled transaction before proceeding with the call, agreed to contact the hotel to speak to an agent. I was told by the Chime agent that the hotel agent did in fact confirm that all charges were settled but she did not have access to the authorization code which is in the presents clearly of the Chime representative, because she was not in the accounting department. The authorization could not be released per the chime policy.

Banking with Chime is really for desperate individuals who cannot bank elsewhere. Employees of chime display the most subpar service ever experienced. There is no protection for the customer neither is there any respect. I would not recommend anyone trusting their payroll nor deposited funds for bill pay. Do not join Chime!

I will try to keep this short as it could be an extremely long story. On December 30th I processed a mobile check deposit. Shortly after I realized it was going to take weeks for the funds to clear. I called Chime to cancel the transaction which is a service they offer, this was just 2 hours after the mobile transaction. After waiting on hold for 2 hours I was connected to a representative who said I would need to speak with a supervisor. After being on hold for another hour the supervisor answers. I explained the situation to him and he advised me I did not need to cancel the mobile deposit because all of my funds would be available that same night. I ask repeatedly, "Are you positive ALL of the funds will be available" to which he assured me yes all of them. With that being the case I no longer needed to cancel the deposit because I believe I would have my funds by the next morning.

The next day I check my account and nothing had become available. Over the next 4-5 days I called Chime back and every representative I talked to assured me all of my funds would become available just shortly after our call. It’s now January 8th and still I have nothing! I have been mislead and lied to by Chime managers and representatives on countless occasions. I cannot believe what an absolutely terrible level of customer service I have received. I was mislead by a supervisor that resulted in not having access to my funds that were for an emergency purpose. I was lied to repeatedly by many Chime representatives. This is unethical and as far as my research goes also illegal for a bank to do.

I submitted a dispute claim for a charge to my account that was paid to a fraudulent company. I made an online purchase of less than $100 for a Christmas gift for my daughter. Come to find out the company was a total sham run by a group overseas. I submitted my claim hoping to be reimbursed. Something I’ve done a few times with REAL traditional banks with 100% success. Not buying from a fake company, never had that happen before. But submitting a dispute over charges to my account. Not only could I not speak to a real person and my claim was taken by a bot, it was determined within 48 hours that they weren’t going to reimburse me. Via email nonetheless.

I’ve seen people reimbursed for much larger amounts, including myself, after either getting scammed or for services not rendered. I was told via email that my situation didn’t warrant being credited back the amount taken from me, and I’d receive a final decision in MARCH! I couldn’t be more unhappy with this company. The moment I find a better banking alternative I’m cutting up this card and never dealing with chime again.

Not one individual in the entire four hour traumatic experience after the trauma of seeing all my money stolen, spoke English as a first language or at least not without heavy accents that required constant repeating so I could understand them and they understand me. I was then able to see this person email address which was **. When I searched google I was able to find that this individual works at Fiserv in Atlanta. Fiserv handles digital banking for Chime and a lot other financial information. This makes sense how this person was able to login to my account with no issue.

I made Chime aware of this information and received my money back 3 days later. The email I received states this was because of an “error”. I do not think that is sufficient enough for possibly this person being able to access my account and personal information. On 12/21/2020 around 5:13p CST, I was a victim of identity theft and hacking that occurred when my phone was stolen. I currently live in Chicago, IL. I logged in from another device and found that someone had transferred $700.00 from my savings account to my checking. Then, they also stole $1,180 from my checking account! They stole the money by using the pay friends option that Chime offers. I have never interacted with or paid this person before. I am currently disabled and was not able to submit a police report at the time of the theft, but I immediately locked my card (which cancelled it) and called Chime Bank to see if the issue could be resolved. This was shortly after I noticed the transfer.

Chime told me to fill out a claim form and describe what happened. After speaking to Chime, I checked my T-Mobile call history and saw two calls were received from a (904) area code. On 12/22/2020 at 1:08a, I received an email from Chime stating that there was suspicious activity on my account from Hollywood, FL. This was very odd because the alert was sent LONG AFTER the incident occurred! The hackers must have stole my phone, called each other, sent my account information, then transferred the money from my account!

On 12/23/2020, I received an email from Chime stating that my claim was denied and that no error was found with the transaction. I requested supporting documents to understand why the claim was denied and they sent an email with false information. The documents they sent stated my phone was in my possession, but I did not state that on my claim form. They also stated I unlocked and locked my card multiple times, but I only locked it once to prevent any other fraudulent activity on my account and so I could be shipped a new card.

Any time I attempt to call Chime, I am transferred to Customer Support, then to the Claims team, but they state they cannot do anything to reopen the claim or have the Disputes team further the investigation. As of now, the claim is still currently closed. I would like for my claim to be reopened and investigated properly. The account owner that did the fraudulent transfer has yet to be investigated and blocked from Chime. Chime should have a holding transfer period and then freeze the funds if someone reports/disputes a fraudulent transfer. I would also like the claim to be overturned and settled in my favor, which means I should be credited for the amount of $1,880.00 due to their negligence in alerting me of suspicious activity.

I’ve been a Chime member for over a year. The Chime App is very user friendly and even straight forward with finding your information. This is a perfect bank for someone with direct deposit. Chime is the type of bank for someone who is just starting out financially, or someone who is restarting their financial life. There is no monthly charge. Someone can easily open a savings account with the checking, and it’s fairly easy to move funds to each account. For my account, chime automatically puts a few dollars into my savings, which is super helpful for me.

I really wish mobile check deposit wouldn’t be so spotty all the time. Whenever I do a mobile check deposit on a weekend, it rarely goes through. The times my check hasn’t been accepted, I redeposit it on a weekday and it goes through most of the time. It’s very strange, especially since I have no other problems with other banks.

Chime has a feature on the app where you can find surcharge free ATM’s. I went to one of the ATM’s Chime pulled up for me, and I couldn’t do anything. I tried depositing cash and the ATM showed a message about how Chime didn’t support it. This can be a bit frustrating, especially since cash and check are very difficult with putting into a Chime account. I am aware that customer service does take forever. A lot of times the issue will be resolved once they contact me back which can be a bit frustrating as well. Anyway, I’m hoping my experience will get better once my employer switches me from check to Direct Deposit. If not I may have to go to a new bank.

Somehow the account was hacked & $39.99 was fraudulently withdrawn. I used the chat feature to file a case & was eventually credited back the $39.99. The same day as the credit the account was hacked again. The chat feature referred to my original claim & would not let me file a new 1, so I shut off the withdrawal function & transferred the balance out of the account. Every subsequent day I've received a notification of a new attempt on my account.

Today I called Chime. After 25 minutes on hold I explained that I still needed to be credited for the 2nd hack. I was put on hold for 10 minutes. A new person picked up the line & I had to re-explain everything for a 2nd time. He then said he needed to transfer me to someone else. Another 10 minutes on hold, re-explain everything for a 3rd time. By now I just want to be credited my money, close the account. This 3rd person closed the account then informed me he was transferring me to someone else re: my refund.

By now I'm well over an hour into this phone call. The Chime spending account, an online/app based 'no fee' checking account; but the one crucial feature you will not find on the Chime app, chime.com, or your Chime monthly statement is a RUNNING BALANCE. This, along with their 'no fee' overdraft feature called 'Spot Me' are equally egregious in how they exploit their customers. Without a running balance, you are at their whim. Whatever they say your balance is...well, that's what it is. If you return an item that was purchased using your PIN number, you will see the refund several days later, back-posted to the date of the return-- but you will not receive credit for the return. Without a running balance, it's a loss. Contact customer service (ZenDesk), they will run you around in circles and see u you in hell. Chime will not acknowledge they siphoned a cent. They are a House of Cards. If they make one adjustment, due to an error on their part, they will cease to exist.

I filed a complaint with the FDIC, the insurance company-- I mean government agency assigned to 'oversee' Chime. My complaint consisted of 57+ pages of detailed documentation, and a running balance column I ADDED USING A PEN AND CALCULATOR, complete with footnotes. I provided the FDIC emails I received from Chime, in which Chime is explicit that monthly statements do not include pending transactions; and then screenshots of the ELECTRONIC monthly statement (mailed statements are not an option) in the Chime app, which included pending transactions, and varying ending balance figures throughout the night.

The FDIC took a month to respond, and closed my case, claiming I had made a mistake in my calculations, a transaction that occurred on a day in May which no such transaction existed. The FDIC failed to specify in their conclusion and refused to respond when I demanded clarification. This is not $3 or $20 or $50. Chime has stolen hundreds upon hundreds of dollars from my account...and I'm on UNEMPLOYMENT. They. Do. Not. Care. Nor does the FDIC. You cannot import monthly statements into a spreadsheet to tabulate, let alone Quicken; they use characters that don't function with any OCR software. Seriously. DO NOT bank with Chime. Hide your money in your wall or something. It's much, much safer.

Now as a result I won’t have access to the direct deposit that goes in later today so I won’t be able to pay my past due water and electric bill so my services will be terminated tomorrow and my daughter will not have a Christmas! I am so upset that I was treated this way by chime and that the rep was 100% unsympathetic and unhelpful actually felt like I was bothering them. I don’t know what to do. I have no way to keep my utilities on. I’m a single mom with no other accounts to depend on.

Chime seriously sucks. It says $0 monthly fees but they make up for it with all these hidden fees when you withdraw money from an ATM. It’s an online bank, NOT A REAL ONE. Their customer service & agents SUCK, they don’t actually give you the help you need, AND a lot of the “benefits” they list in commercials are a lie. Honestly, screw Chime. You can seriously find a better bank wherever you are.

I just recently received my Chime debit card. Prior to receiving the card, I got an email from Chime giving me the routing number and my account number which I wrote down in my book under Chime. When I received the card, it had an entirely different account number! As I was reading how to make direct deposits, it had an entirely different routing number and account number! 2 different routing numbers and 3 different account numbers -- God only knows where my SS direct deposit would have gone. I emailed their support team back and laid this all out to them and said I would not be using their services! Public beware of this! I think this is a scam!

They have constantly gone offline to where you can not access your funds. This past time it made my credit card payment fail and this is the time I said I’m done. I was also scammed online, they didn’t honor the charge. Most banks will reverse a charged If the person was scammed. Most of 5 star reviews are the ones saying they never charge me over draft fees but if you look they charge you money to deposit money into your bank. Walgreens and cvs isn’t charging that extra money. Just ask! The bank Corp which is the bank Chime uses and the bank that prints your card will charge you to use their atm. They are completely unreliable and untrustworthy. Use any other bank.

My experience with CHIME has been poor! I used them for about 2 years as a backup account when purchasing items online and some traveling. I highly recommend NOT using this company as your main account. They system is constantly crashing which causes serious issues when your trying to use your CHIME cc. If you have direct deposit, accounts setup monthly to withdraw from this bank. You're rolling dice! Last year their entire network crashed! And the worse thing about it you can't TALK to a LIVE person. It's all automated. Take it from me and CHIME's online reviews. Stick to a real banking institution. Another thing don't be fooled by their "Metal Card" marketing which they do every year. You'll never receive the "Metal Chime" card. It looks shiny and pretty. But you'll never receive it.
