I applied online and was sent a cheery happy message saying I was approved. I called the next day and gave them more information. I was told I would get a call back in an hour and a half. Three hours later I called them and was told that with collateral I would be approved. I asked about adding my wife's income and after giving her information we were told it wouldn't be a problem and in fact may raise my loan amount. I was told I would get a call back in an hour and a half to two hours. Again three hours later I called back and was told we were declined. It was a giant run around for nothing but a hard inquiry on my credit. These people don't seem to know what they are doing and will tell you what you want to hear until they can't. If you can't call back within your stated time frame, at least say that. Big waste of time.

I was contacted by a Representative by the name of Jeremy. 2015 was a very difficult year financially as I was finishing up my last year of graduate school and was unable to work for a few months. As a result, payments fell behind. Since December 2015, things have completely turned around. I acquired a very lucrative job and my income tripled. I resumed payments to Springleaf in December and doubled up on payments to bring the account current. Jeremy contacted me regarding a "cure" option.

I applied for a personal loan with Springleaf Financial to consolidate some bills. I informed ** that I was thinking over the repayment of over $7500 to borrow $5000 for 2 years. She wanted the title to both cars I own, then said she would only take one. I was set up to go sign the papers and get the money on Monday, 1/18/16 and was called to take care of my ailing mother and did not make my appointment. I have since received a letter saying that I was denied, which has obviously negatively affected my credit even worse.

While I was checking my credit score the site stated that Springleaf would be a great fit for me to get a loan to buy a much-needed car since I totaled my car in an accident and really could use a more reliable daily driver than what I am driving now. My credit score is not the best, but it is average. I only have three items listed on my credit. Two are positive and one is negative due to my accident, but I am currently making payments. I earn a really good living so I thought it would not be a problem getting a loan for $5,000.00. The mgr called me back to say my request was declined. If the credit bureau thought we were a good fit then why was I declined. If I had perfect credit I would not be needing a loan. Very disappointed with the outcome.

Yesterday, January 14, 2016, I contacted Springleaf because I received a notification that I may be able to get help with a loan. I, of course, do not have great credit as 'life happens' (layoffs and a death in the family last year) and know that I am a target for these types of offers. I really need help as I am about to start a great career with a well-known seminar company. Money for travel expenses is desperately needed because I need to travel to another state for the certification training and they do not pay nor reimburse for travel until you start doing your seminars.

I came here & read tons of reviews, & wasn't going to give them the chance, but I decided to go for it. Spoke to the CSR dept & said I was eligible & someone from my local office would call me back to request more info. 3 days later, no phone call. I finally called & he said the reason I never got a call was because I was denied from the get-go... He mentioned that my dept of ed is what's hurting that decision. I told them that's what I wanna pay. So be aware, they will not allow you to pay your student loans if you'd like. So at the end of the day, I was deceived by this company. Sucks they put a hard inquiry on my credit. These people are bad business & at 29% APR, not worth it.

To keep it short, I applied for a loan knowing that my credit is less than perfect but my income to debt ratio is fine. They were quick about getting back to me which I appreciate but it felt like an interrogation on the phone with the agent, just question after question about my plans with the loan money and personal situation outside of pure finances. The worst part is she proceeded to call my work multiple times for the application process (I'm in the military and disclosed this so most people know that's a no fly zone unless I'm not fulfilling my obligations). She asked a random associate what my rank and title is, what exactly I do, and told them the reason for the call. After everything, they approved me for half what I applied for at a ridiculous rate. Waste of time.

I was in a bind and these guys helped me when others would not. Still today I use them. They're fast and convenient and have great customer service! The Longmont branch is full of energetic fun staff. That know you by name when you walk in the door!

I went into Springleaf Loans looking for a small loan to buy a used car. I was qualified for $2,400 which was the amount need to purchase the car. They set me up with a three year payment plan which seemed kind of long to me. Now a year and a half later we are still paying off this loan. We were loaned $2,400 and are having to pay back $5,629 that is ridiculous. The other shady part of this is that when I receive my statements the interest box is always blank. Need to report this to the Better Business Bureau.

I had a loan with Springleaf and got hurt at work. Was a few payments behind and was getting calls every day. The guy that worked there told me if I didn't pay they would file a lawsuit and garnish my pay. Few weeks later, I received a civil suit in May. Now I don't know what to do.

I would recommend anyone in the need of a loan to Springleaf. Good or bad credit they will take great care of you.

The West Bend Wisconsin office is wonderful. Each one there treats you with complete respect.

I applied for a secure loan using my vehicle, I got approved for 16K. First they ran my application and credit with the wrong vehicle, so they had to do it again, I got approved again for the same amount. I sent all the paperwork required and I drove to their office an hour later, mind you I sent my registration so I took time off from work to go to the office just to find out that they can't do the loan because my vehicle is not registered in the current state. Customer Service need to ensure to provide all the information at once and not make people waste their time.

Well let me tell you the story short. They told me I was approve for a loan for 10,000. Next morning I received a call and they told me that they could offer me a loan and was only approved for 7500. I went in, took the necessary papers, and had the loan approved in 30 minutes. That was the good part. The bad part is my first payment was withdrawn from my account without permission! I set up direct pay to begin in February and made the payment normally for this month. I went to my account the next day and had 2 payments withdrawn! I called them and was told they couldn't do anything for at least a week or two... I need that extra money for bills now as I was in the hospital and have bills due. Very unsatisfied with the service I received after I got their loan.

Recommend getting loan here because they make you feel like you're important to them, not just another person.

I would recommend Springleaf to friends and family. This is my third loan with them. They are always friendly, courteous and professional.They work with you if you have difficulty making payments after you get your loan.

I am very unhappy with the application process. The calculations for my income was incorrect and when the agent suggested to add my spouse, I was assure my credit would not be ran again. That is incorrect, I was notified of double inquiry and on top of that they offered a secured loan, which is the same as a title loan. I am unhappy and will be disputing the inquiry.

I received confirmation via email that my loan request was approved. I got a phone call from an employee seconds after this. After speaking with her for about 5 minutes, I was told I would hear back within 1-2 hours. I never heard back from them, so I followed up. I was then told my loan was denied. I am extremely frustrated as to why this company sends confirmation of approval, to then deny. You need to be more precise with your communication to potential customers. Being deceitful does not equal good business. I will definitely share my experience with those I know.

When I needed a small loan my first and only choice was Springleaf. In the 12 years I have been dealing with Springleaf I have always received fast, courteous and friendly service. I will continue this relationship for the foreseeable future and I know I won't be disappointed.

Well let me tell you the story short. They told me I was approve for a loan for 10,000. Next morning I received a call and they told me that they could offer me a secured title loan against my car that was approved for 5000. After I send all the papers they told me that I wasn't approve and that I will received a letter in the mail. They run your credit, know that is good and still denied you after you get all the papers done. Liars.

On Jan 2nd I apply for a loan online. I get a confirmation email that said I was approved for $3500. "Great" I think to myself. Website shows they are open. I drive to the office listed in the email and they are closed. So today Monday Jan 4th I go into the office. I walk in the door and they are all sitting at stations. No one walked up to greet me. They ask from the 3rd station "what can we do for you". I told them who I was there to see, and she said "I'm on the phone it will be a few minutes". Ok I understand. Now in the email I got saying I was approved. It said I needed to take in ID DL, ID card, passport.

My wife got a auto collateral loan but my name was also on the loan. Somehow she got $402.00 behind. Not a lot of money but instead of contacting me since I'm on the loan also they repossessed the truck. Ok. Instead of contacting me first. Now they want $1,120 to get the vehicle back. $700.00 for a 50 mile tow. They knew if they had called me I would have paid the past due amount immediately. Only $402.00 but why do that when you can make an extra $700.00? Scam all done legally but doesn't make it right. I would tell anyone that's needs a loan to stay far, far away from this place. Communication is terrible. For a profit.

Springleaf should not advertise as a poor credit loan company.. I have applied, my daughter and me as co-signer and my husband applied and no one approved! But when you search and do the pre-qualification it comes up and says "we find a company that might be able to help!" I understand the word "may be able" but it's never! Springleaf does not even call you back with answer, which they say "I will call back in about 2 hours." You speak with a rep they take all your info and say everything looks good and sends to underwriting. They after that you get No email, No call, No Nothing. To get a answer you have to call back and speak with Rep!

I started out with a small loan many years ago and it was a very smooth experience. Was able to pay off early. So every time I've needed something they're the 1st I call and in a very short time I'm approved, make an appointment, paperwork is very simple, and I'm done. Online & now automatic payments make it even easier. Best part is deciding when is the best time for my budget to make the payments. Also the women there have come to know me very well when I have just a simple question and are always quick to respond to my calls or emails. Even when I was going through my divorce I was very appreciative that Springleaf was able to separate my ex's accounts from mine and not let his delinquents reflect on me. I'm very thankful for that.

This company advertises that they offer loans to people with bad credit. This is not at all true. I have tried to apply with them and they were even recommended by Credit Karma. Each time, they have denied me even with my credit score increasing. I will never apply with this company even if my credit score was perfect. They don't call you to even try to assist you. Automatic denial.

I need to apply for a loan to help me pay for my daughter college fees on campus. Springleaf didn't ask a thousand questions. However they did ask what I needed it for which was ok. I produce my documents, all info was explained, and I was out the door in less than 1 hour of approval. My payments were affordable and I'm very thankful that I have a place to come to that was willing to work with me.

Taking out a loan is not usually a pleasant experience. Means something came up that you weren't prepared for. Jarrod and his crew in Pueblo, Co. go out of their way to make it as good as it gets. I first dealt with Jarrod years ago as a rep of the company and he's moved his way up, to it being his store. This shows his ability to provide the best customer service and shows that his bosses know greatness when they see it. We actually could have gone to our bank and gotten this loan but both the wife and myself preferred to deal with real people not a "system". Tom was kind and understanding about my credit score being low due to some medical bills for myself and my step daughter. He worked with me to complete the process. My husband and I returned at a time convenient for us to sign the papers. Mission accomplished - contractor paid in full and we have a low monthly payment. I would definitely use Springleaf again.
