We wanted to take out a personal loan to pay off medical debt. Our credit is not perfect, nor is it too bad. Springleaf approved us for more than we requested. They wanted to pay off one of our credit cards as well, and we also needed to put a vehicle up for collateral. According to our loan papers, that disappear after 24 hours, our first payment was due September 13th 2015. Our phones began ringing off the hook on the 6th of September. On the 9th, I paid the first payment of 145 and the CSR told me that my due date was the 3rd of every month. They would change it to the 13th, no problem.
October rolls around and again the calls begin around the 9th stating that we were late and our due date couldn't possibly be changed until after we were current on our bill. I requested that the recorded conversation from September be reviewed because the CSR stated that it was changed. Never heard back from the supervisor regarding this complaint.
Make October's payment and I notice on October 22nd 2015 that the payment has not come out of our checking account. I called and spoke with an agent, whom by the way are low on the intellectual scale, to be informed that our payment was sent back as NSF. We had 2k in our account when the payment was made, and we have NEVER has a NSF for any payments made to any other company EVER. We were assessed a late fee and a NSF. I asked for a copy of this NSF fee and was told they wouldn't send me a copy, but would reverse once I sent in our bank statement, showing that on October 18th we had 2000 in the bank. Wow! OK, I will jump through hoops because I am not paying a penny extra. I authorized another payment from the same account, and wouldn't you know it, still no payment deducted from my checking account.
Beware, this is a predatory lender. Also, if you chose to do business with them, record EVERY SINGLE CALL for your safety, take screen shots on your bank statements the day you make your payment, and file a complaint with your state's Attorney General. I plan on refinancing this loan with another bank because it is my fear that this is their scam to come repossess a vehicle and walk away with profits. DO NOT DO THIS EVEN IF YOU ARE DESPERATE!!!

Angela at the Springleaf Financial branch in Orange City asked me to supply her with some information and she said I was approved. Upon giving her this information for qualification I got a call a day and a half later. It says she could not do anything. Her attitude and demeanor was outrageous. She had a bad temper and she exploded - was loud language towards me. I thought it was a very unprofessional experience.
We apologize for the poor experience and we'd like to investigate the issue on our end. Someone will be in contact with you shortly to discuss this matter.

I applied to get a $5300 consolidation loan after receiving an offer in the mail and much like many other, received the immediate "You have been approved". Woke up the next morning to find a voicemail that was left at 12:34 am stating that they needed to verify my information. Later that morning I receive a call from Tara at the local branch. She was extremely pleasant and very professional. After collecting all of my information I was denied because my debt to income ratio was too high. In my offer, it was initially estimated at a payment of $177 per month and the debt I wanted to pay off had a payment that was greater than $600 per month.
After explains all this, Tara resubmitted everything and was still denied. I'm not sure what calculations they do, but mine actually shows a drop in debt to income by doing this loan. I don't have good credit, even borderline poor due to decisions I had to make in my past to put my family's needs first. But everything is caught up and payments made with all accounts in good standing for over 2 years now. I think that they are more searching for people that are likely to default on the loan. The only positive to the whole experience was Tara. No matter what, she remained extremely pleasant to deal with. It was whoever was making the decision, apparently made sure I wasn't the type of customer they wanted. Someone who is working hard and currently paying all debts with very little risk to losing my job, just wanting to refinance higher payment debts for a more manageable amount.
Thank you for your comments. This sounds like something we should look into. Someone will reach out to you shortly to discuss this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thanks.

Needed a loan for a car repair. Initially very helpful until the forms were signed. After, they didn't answer the phone nor return messages. The 1st bill I received didn't match my contract. Finally was able to get someone to answer and they were unable or unwilling to explain why they would took out more money from my back account (direct withdrawal) than contract said. "I don't know" or "That is weird" is not an appropriate answer!!! I borrowed money from elsewhere to pay the untrustworthy branch off. He even acted like the was doing me a favor by changing the numbers on the next auto-withdrawal to actually match my contract!!!
When went in to give them the check, they were again rude, clueless and unhelpful. The lady (not the one that initially filled out the contract with me nor the one I spoke with on the phone) claimed that the numbers matched my contract (of course would not show me the contract as I didn't bring my copy), then the story was that it was a processing fee, and then decided that I had elected to pay more money per month which I know I had not. In a roundabout way, headquarters was called and notified about the complaint and issue and headquarters agreed that the withdrawal was incorrect and didn't match my contract and that the branch was covering their ass-ets.
Thank you for your patience.
Best,
Alex

I noticed an extra $300 added onto my account, with no explanation, and spoke with a rep in August 2015. I was told it was a mistake and would be removed. I checked again in September 2015 and it had not been removed, so I called and spoke with another rep who said that they would investigate and decided if the charge should be removed. I told him I had written a check in the amount of $275 in June 2015, which was just about paid off before the addition showed up. The rep said that I would get a call back once the investigation was completed.
I never received a callback, so I called back in late September 2015 and was told that in October 2012 an amount from my account was mistakenly charged to another account so it was reapplied to my account. I asked for all statements from 2012 to present, hoping that they would point out where the mistake was made but instead mailed massive statements, without any written explanation whatsoever. I am in the process of pulling up all payments from my bank and having an accountant look over the massive printout mailed to me which included a loan dated back to 2006, paid off in April 2012, and didn't have anything to do with the October 2012, so-called mistake. I never knew that amount could be added onto a consumer's account with any explanation of how the mistake was made.
Thanks for your message. I'm going to inform our Executive Office of Customer Care of the issue so that someone can contact you and discuss. I apologize for any inconvenience.

I've been receiving ads in the mail telling me I've been pre-approved for a loan up to 10,000 or more. So after a few months of this, we apply and deal with a woman named Leah Ann. My husband applies online Thursday night and we receive a call Friday morning. I speak with a woman whom at the time, I don't catch her name, she speaks so fast then I confirm some stuff and she tells me she will get in touch with us by the end of the day. Well, the weekend rolls by and my husband had call her this morning (Monday). Well she informs us she can approve us for 7,500 and that she needs some more information. So then she lets my husband know what we needed to get to her and tells him how they are going to pay things off which didn't even help with our main issue, a motor for our work vehicle.
Well I call her back because she hasn't been clear on how they are doing things with the loan. I talk to her and she just says we need paperwork. So I inform her, I will find the papers needed and I'll get them to her immediately. We show up with papers in hand thirty min later and she is not in her office in Barboursville WV. She was out to lunch and forgot to inform us of this. She then calls us knowing we are out of area and not on the number that she can reach us at directly and leaves a message. My husband then calls her back and they tell us that the way we need the money, we can't get it after we have informed her of our situation. We will never recommend this company for anyone!!! They don't listen and they don't care about what a client needs.

I just recently applied for a loan for Springleaf. Although the staff was very nice, it still bothered me how I was only offered $2000. Well according to the staff she said maybe. I need at least $10,000 to help me out with bills that are drowning me so bad. A friend of mine told me I would be approved with no issue if my credit was at least 600 or above. Maybe I was able to get $2000 that would help in one or two bills or maybe not, the point of going to Springleaf was to get the whole amount that was needed to pay for my bills. Y'all are leaving me with no solutions and I completely ran out of options to find help. I rather had paid one loan than to have many other loans to pay and still drown myself to just try and pay every bill, one bill at a time... thanks for not helping.
We'd like to look further into this. We would like to have someone from our Executive Office of Customer Care reach out so that we can get more information on your recent visit to our branch. Someone will reach out shortly to the contact information you have listed.

With the old company, I could not get straight answers, was not able to talk to supervisors, and had two situations that I could not get resolved no matter how I tried (and I have significant business background). Our loan officer at Springleaf solved problems, made the refinance easy and fast, and he dealt with the old company on my behalf, taking the burden of a bad situation off my shoulders. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate Shawn ** of the Ravenna, Ohio Springleaf office. I will definitely give them my business again, and recommend them to friends.

I applied for a loan, and was approved. But when I spoke to them they wanted to secure it on my vehicle. Okay, that's fine too. So I bring in the title, pay stubs, all this (astonished to be required) but I did, and was approved. And here's what they came up with: $10,600 loan, $372 x 48 months. Can anybody here do the math? That's $17,856. Or in other words, my borrowing $10,600 would cost me $7,256 in addition to the amount of $10,600. There are mafia families that offer better rates, and it's not even secured. This is beyond hardball interest - in fact, they are charging the maximum allowed by law - the same rate as a title loan company.
What's especially insulting about that...is it was because my car, which is paid off, is worth about $13,000 cash. I talked to my bank who gave me a CAR EQUITY LOAN at 4% interest. My total payback - under $12K. The payment over $100 less per month. I told Springleaf I did not want their loan. PERIOD. All that Springleaf or any title company is going to do is borrow the money from a bank and give it to you using your automobile equity as collateral anyway. Why not just cut out the $5000 middle man? If you have bad credit, make a deal with whom you owe the money. Do not under any circumstances borrow from these guys - the last thing you want is a 36% interest loan on your credit report. That is all.

I have been a customer for 7 years and was very happy until 6 months ago. They gave me an initial loan 7 years ago for an HVAC unit at my house and when that was paid off they gave me loans two more times. The last loan was in 2014 because my dog got sick and I needed the money quickly for a vet specialist. At the end of 2014 my wife got sick and lost her job unexpectedly. I knew I could not afford my $275 payment any longer and called the branch to ask to restructure the terms so I could get a lower payment instead. They completely refused my request several times. They would say, "Sure we will be glad to help you" and then say "oh no, we can't adjust your loan terms, that's impossible".
They lied to me. They never wanted to help me. Over $12,000 in perfect payment histories for 6-1/2 years means absolutely nothing to them. They treated me like dirt, not like a valued customer. They told me the only way to get my loan terms changed was to default and let them sue me. So now they have sued me and their lawyer tells me they will still not change my loan terms and instead want a judgement for the $5000 balance PLUS another $2000 in lawyer fees and interest. They lied to me again!!

I was coaxed into borrowing another $500 to catch my loan up, write a new loan and increase my balanced owed plus interest, I might add. I applied when I got the first one several years ago and was denied, and at the time my mom's credit was worse than mine and she got approved. So I received a few more offers in the mail and ignored them as there was no point to try again and get more credit inquiries. Received another offer today a few years later, so go online to apply, and it comes back denied again after my credit has improved so much over the past few years. This company is ridiculous, and wouldn't waste your time to apply. I called a branch to find out why it was denied, and they couldn't even tell me that, and the employees were very rude. So I recently found myself in a financial bind with unsecured credit cards. I decided I needed to do a debt consolidation as I did not want to file bankruptcy. Since I received a letter from Springleaf informing me I was pre-qualified for $5,000, I decided to give it a try. I applied online, and moments later received a letter stating I was approved. Followed up with a phone call to the local branch, where I spoke with the personal loan specialist, she informed me I was approved for and could add my vehicle to the loan but receive $3500. I informed her this is not an option for me, I will not be adding my vehicle and that I would consider taking the loan and contact her within a day or two. I soon contacted her and was in the next day completing my loan application.
While there I felt rushed, but was ok considering I really didn't want to be in the office more than 30 mins. While in the office I had another representative approach me about adding my vehicle and I told them no, that adding my vehicle is not an option once again. Next, a gentleman approach me about my monthly payments in which he told me they were at least $40 dollars more than what I initially agreed upon. After expressing my displeasure, he corrected course and offered the original payment presented to me during my initial offer.
Next, I went through the electronic signing with my PLS, who sort of rushed through the process. After finishing I received my check and left. Overall it was an experience that may work for some and may not work for others. The best thing I can say is that I was able to handle my bills on time and I know that I have the ability to pay off my loan a bit earlier than the length of the loan and look forward to doing so.

Ummm I'm a residential cleaner and what resident do you know signs a contract with a cleaner? Complete bull crap and a complete waste of my day. They asked for everything but my first born son and I quickly supplied it. Granted, my cleaning income and total deposits for 90 days was over 14 grand so why the hell wasn't I approved for a 2500 loan? Clearly my bank statements (going back years) proved that I could make the $98 monthly payment. Annoyed and will never use them again. Don't even feel comfortable with these people having my personal information. Borrower beware.

I've never had a problem with this finance company til they opened a branch in San Bernardino. They are rude and definitely not honest. I applied for a loan, it was approved. The loan officer (Anna) did not tell me if I wait a week to pick up the check, it would be minus $90.00 for interest. Wow really! if I could run in that day I would of but if I have to work to pay it back, be fair.
I was also called in the branch for Saturday business hours and was given the wrong info. Not only was I at the branch on Saturday afternoon but 2 other customers also who were given the wrong info on business hours. Now this has to be some kind of scam from this office because that would led to the loss of $90.00. Now 1 month later I don't qualify because of my credit. Well that's what some of the loan was for. All I could do is transfer offices and get these people paid off asap. I will NEVER do business nor recommend Springleaf Financial.

The application process was a breeze. A representative called me and processed all the information he needed. Once we finished, he advised someone from my local branch would call me. Anthony, in Smyrna TN, called me and got additional information to finish up. I was approved for $2000 (so I was told). When I got to the branch, Anthony QUICKLY went over the information and come to find out, he added all kinds of insurance for unemployment and disability... told me it was "built into the loan"-- thinking that I didn't have the option to opt out of it. By the time we finished the actual amount I was approved for was 2500.00 but 500.00 of that went to all the insurance premiums that were "built into the loan". The payments per month aren't bad but its very discouraging to know these kind of tactics are used. I'm paying this loan off ASAP and never using this service again all because a loan officer strong armed me into the extras added into my loan.

It took a while but finally paid it the loan off (after name change) several years ago and was very proud of paying off this debt even though we have never received the pay off paperwork. The reason I am now wasting my time to comment is because I received a letter in the mail today from a collection agency on the same account that has been paid off for 3 years or more. How does a paid in full account end up in the hands of some fishy collection agency. Is this the reason why we never received the paperwork, so it could be sold as a bad debt. She ended up calling my mom at 4:30 and when she was done she said she would call my fiancé with an answer as to if we got the loan or not and she never called.
We waited until 3 the next day and my fiancé called her and she said we were approved for $2,345 but we would need the vin number and we would need to contact the man and get him to bring the title to the closest Springleaf near him, and they told us they would send the check to him and not to us and when we asked why we couldn't get the check ourselves they told us they don't give checks out to the people who applied for the loan... (Even though my mom and her boyfriend went through Springleaf a month beforehand and she cosigned with him and they gave him the check that day) so we ended up canceling our loan with them because we didn't feel right letting them send a check to some guy we've never met and just assume he'll let us have the motorcycle even after he gets his check. We will never go through them again. We actually got approved through 1st Franklin financial WITHOUT the title or the vin number.

I was upset about the high interest rates but that didn't matter because I was going to pay it back soon. The next day a Springleaf representative spoke with me and stated that I had to just provide verification of employment by emailing my paycheck stub to verify the monthly amount that I get from my job. I also informed the representative that I wanted to see if I can qualify for 5,000. She stated that she will have to do full application and then go from there. I stated okay.
I informed the Representative that when I did the application I added my boyfriend income as well as mine. Because I was think of monthly income that I get even if it's not from work, you can do that on credit card application. Funny thing is I informed her of this information. She states that it is okay that I can just send that paycheck stub to verify funds. I once again informed her that I will get denied because it doesn't match because I added my boyfriend's income. She didn't reply or anything. The next day I follow up with her because during this whole process I'm following up with her and she tells me that I am denied to monthly income not matching. When I told her before she processed the application that it's not going to match because I added my boyfriend's income.
I also asked her can I get approved for the 2,000 instead of the 5,000 she states not either one. I wanted to see what I can do to change that before she processes it. But she processed it anyways. Then the next day she informs me that I can add my boyfriend to the application to see if I can get approved. I'm still asking her was there any way that I can change my application to my monthly income she states no, then I inform her that my boyfriend doesn't have good credit but we can try since you are telling me that my ONLY option since I ALREADY stating from the beginning before you processed my application that I added my boyfriend's income.
Well I find out that I was not approved and now I am pissed. Because I should be approved. I should have this loan. It's just horrible customer service. I can see if I was hiding things or not informing her of this information but she still processed it after I informed her of that and she could have changed it. I would like someone to contact me to get this resolved.

They got things in order and the next day I went in and went through the process of obtaining a loan that worked for me and my family. Questions were answered well, clear direction for the loan and what we were getting that day. It is a great place to get a loan, for whatever one person may need. I was well taken care of. I went online to apply for a personal loan of $7000 that we need for a down payment towards a mobile home. We gave up our home of 20+ years in a bankruptcy filing and just received our discharge. So it is urgent that we obtain other living arrangements. When the site suggested Springleaf Financial, we were very pleased, we had dealt with the Cincinnati, Ohio. Tri-County office in the past. So I phone them BUT I was told since this was our 2nd bankruptcy, even though it is now discharged they cannot even consider our application. WHY did the website recommend them if they cannot offer their services? I do not understand. We had good standing with Springleaf. I would like to know if this is Company policy or just the branch we dealt with policy? Thank you.

After reading fair reviews to receive loans with Springleaf, I gave it a try. My husband and I lost most of our assets in 2009. Like many other Americans the economy of that year took a toll on us. After attending financial workshops my husband and I were directed to NOT file BK and let our finances go, re-establish new credit, and rebuild. We have done so, however the past seems to haunt us! With time on our side, a great auto finance history, and a FICO of over 600 we thought a much needed small personal loan would be considered simple with Springleaf. I am very skeptical of having my credit hit as I don't like ANY dings. That said, I WON'T HAVE MY CREDIT PULLED, unless the opportunity looks promising.
The experience was impersonal, and disappointing.

I found Springleaf Financial online and based on some reviews was happy to find a location near my area. I filled out an app. online. Within about 2 seconds, it returned "my app. couldn't be approved". A few days later I received an email stating why my app. was denied. I'm curious how a person can have a 677 credit score, apply for a loan focused on those with bad credit and be denied. Then under Principal Reasons For Denial, they stated that it was because of my "type of residency". Wow Springleaf I didn't know that renting was a bad residency status to have to apply for a loan with your institution. Additionally it stated that denial was due to "insufficient recent activity". However like I said my credit score is 677. I don't like to drown in debt and this company punishes people for that. Going forward like this, this company will have more than one problem on their hands.
I don't recommend Springleaf and it's not because I was denied, but because of their stereotyping and they aren't what they advertise. Institutions that really specialize in providing loans to those who have bad credit won't deny based on these reasons. Honestly if we as people used these same criteria to judge businesses then based on some of the reviews here on CustomerAffairs your company would fail.

How can you base a decision on very minimal information. I was sent an approval letter in the mail; yet, I was denied when I responded to the letter. No problem, I can work things out. My problem is this. My credit score wasn't THAT great but it was considered fair. I pulled my credit report the same day as applying for this "pre-qualified loan" and it knocked me down to poor credit rating and 20 points off my score. That is ridiculous! For a company who promotes themselves as being debt consolidators and people who can help fix your credit you all just took away the years I spent getting my score above a 660. SO THANK YOU FOR THAT. I am a existing customer who has a loan with Springleaf. I was told that I could make another loan after 6 months. So, I called Springleaf and applied over the phone with Edith the Manager. Edith took my info and then said she would call back. Another clerk called and told me I could come in because I was approved. Before I could end the call Edith the Manager grabbed the phone from the clerk and begin yelling at me loud enough so her employees could hear her and asked me why do I need the money. I didn't know Springleaf would hire a manager who is so unprofessional so I declined the loan.
Updated on 9/10/2015 - I was contacted by a representative of Springleaf Customer Service who listen to my complaint about my horrible experience with their manager Edith. All she did was say "sorry this happen" and she didn't have anything to offer me for compensation. You don't advertise yourself as a company that helps people with credit problems and then treat them just like any bank would. I requested 5000 for debt consolidation and got an email telling me it was approved. Got my hopes up that finally after years of struggling, someone was finally going to help. Got the phone call. She took more information said I would hear back to finalize everything. Get the call back and I have been turned down. Thanks for nothing. Is it too much to ask for to help a friggin struggling veteran.
I make too much money to qualify for any other kind of help. I don't owe enough to qualify for debt relief help. And my credit is too low to help myself. So a college kid making minimum wage with 100k in debt could get help because he has over a 700 score, but a married veteran, father of 3 who makes 50k a year can't get any help because his score is 580? How messed up is this? Everyone falls and hard times. I just thought someone cared enough to help. I guess I was wrong. And people wonder why so many veterans take their lives. How many of those do you think are financially related. Think about it. I don't recommend doing business with companies that advertise that they care, but don't.

After being sent a pre-approval offer, I decided to apply since I have been wanted to repair my credit and did not know where to start. Based on the website and the way it's being advertised, it states that their services are for credit repair. I was excited knowing there was a company out there that can consolidate my cards with knowing that my credit needed repair. DUH! Credit repair means the credit is damaged maybe with late payments or over-limits or over-utilization, etc. Well I applied and was then prompted to a screen that stated that a rep will be in contact with me within 15 minutes. Well 30 minutes later, still NO CALL. But I understood, a lot of work so I will call myself. I was attended by a wonderful rep, very sweet. She asked me several questions and reassured me that I should be fine. I was under the 60% limit and that I will be approved. Well, I called in to get a status and then I was told I was denied due to income.
I stated that even if the loan amount has to be reduced to at least give me an offer if that is the reason of the denial. Well I provided them with additional income information and they resubmitted to underwriting again. Once again I called to get my status and wow DENIED AGAIN and now for delinquency. REALLY??? First, obviously, it's credit repair so the credit will have its negatives. Second, it's like they wanted to deny me anyway because they found another reason that was not the INITIAL reason. I was heartbroken because I had high hopes with this company that was willing to help me better my credit and finally get on track! I was even recommending 2 other customers but after this, NO WAY!

I went to Springleaf Financial and got approved for a loan in April. Michael was the person that I spoke to and at first, I told him that I just wanted to get enough to pay off a $6,000 debt. He told me that they could pay my car off and give me extra money to help me out. I was also told that it would be wise to get insurance in the event I was not able to make my loan payments. I agreed and my first payment was due in May, which I made and a second loan payment in June.
In July, I notified Michael that I was told that I had Stage 1 Breast Cancer and I would need a Lumpectomy. He told me to get the paperwork to the Dr. and I did. He assured me that it would be all right. About a week later, I got a call from him and explained that I was trying to get the paperwork filled out and I would get it to him as soon as possible. In the meantime, more calls came in and I told them that I was doing my best to get them the necessary paperwork that they requested from my Dr.
The next time I saw him was after I had my surgery and I was able to bring the paperwork to him. I informed him that the Dr. told me that I had Stage 2 Breast Cancer instead of Stage 1 and I would need Radiation and possible Chemo. I told him that I could not make a payment at this time. I had missed 5 days of work. He was extremely rude and unconcerned about my prognosis! I was told that Merit Insurance may or may not pay my missed payments, that he would let me know.
I am very angry and frustrated by this, I did not ask for this to happen to me! When I am able to make the payments I will gladly do so, but at this time I am struggling just to survive... If they do not pay the missed payments and I lose my car, I am going to contact the Attorney General of Indiana. I was told that in the event of a mishap, etc. that Merit Insurance would pay my loan. I need to be reassured that I will not lose my car or be harassed by your people, anymore! I am still waiting to find out how much Radiation I will need, according to my Dr. it looks like at least 3 weeks and there is a possibility of Chemo. I cannot get back on my feet until this is over and finished. Please contact me as soon as possible.

I called to see if I could get a little more on my loan. After going back and forth for a few days, they asked for paystubs. I sent this to them. My direct deposit stub does not have the name of our company, as they do not print the direct deposits on check stock. I said I could print them out a statement or get a letter from my employer stating my pay and to verify that I am still employed with the same company for 8 years. They said they will not take that and denied me without even verifying employment.
This made me a little unhappy considering I had been a loyal paying customer of theirs. I filed a complaint with their headquarters and did not get a reply, thought this was unprofessional. I ended up going to a credit union, which I paid off what I had left with Springleaf and getting the loan I needed at significant drop in interest almost 20% drop. Springleaf Financial has extremely high interest rates but like I said if you are in a bind and do not have good credit and you are willing to pay the rate I guess it is good. I felt treated very poorly and felt they were very unprofessional and not willing to work with me at all.

I applied for a $3000 loan to consolidate my bills on Friday August 14th. I was contacted by Springleaf a few minutes after I applied. The employee asked me to verify all of the information on my application, and said she couldn't verify my income because I have only worked at my current place of employment for a few months. I completely understand that. She said she was going to call my co-applicant, which was my father, to verify all of his information. He wasn't able to make it to the phone, and the employee left him a voicemail with their personal extension. About an hour or so later when he was free, he called back and received no answer, so he left them a voicemail.
Today (Monday, August 17th), they called my father again to verify all of the information I put on the loan application. He called me right after to tell me they denied my application because he lives in Ohio and I live in Maryland. They said they cannot provide loans to people if their co-applicant is from a different state. That information was on the first part of the application I filled out on Friday. My question is, why was I even contacted and questioned, if I didn't even qualify for the loan in the first place? I should have been informed that my application wouldn't even be accepted. Now I have a hard inquiry on my credit report for absolutely no reason.

Changed autopay contract to manual pay which doubled the monthly payment without my authorization but didn't tell me. Since the first loan and through the second one I had always been on autopay. I need that because I lose control of my business matters if I try to rely on my memory to make monthly payments on time. They even told me that autopay was going to be a requirement anyway. I've been paying out to them for approx 1.5 years. I have lost count of how many times I had to fix things because of identity theft but there were a couple or more times that it was because of their typos or something concerning my routing number.
The last time I spoke with the office where I got the loan in Cocoa FL was about them not being able to get the monthly payment out of my checking account. I immediately suggested that I go ahead and pay the missed payment (not my fault) but also the next payment which was not due for a few days. I also gave them my new address and phone # and thought we were good. 3 months later they ruined my credit and sent a tow truck to take my truck which I used for collateral.
I thought I had fixed the problem but they said I was supposed to have been making manual payments. I had signed a contract to have autopay because I have such a bad memory (I fell in a construction accident and hit head first). Nobody told me I was supposed to make manual payments unless they said it in a way I didn't fully understand. I even asked if we good before she hung up and she said yes. All I thought was that I was making auto payments the same as always. As far as I can tell this happened all because of their typo on the routing # for my checking account. I have always been patient with them because they had been patient with me. I have always been there to make things right regardless of the cause and then they treat me like this now.

I first applied for a loan and was pre-approved, a representative contacted me immediately. They rush you into sending all required documents, once sent I was told I did not qualify because of my expense to income ratio. I then asked my representative if I can get a loan for a lesser, she told me she would run this through her supervisor and will let me know. Never heard back from her or anyone in the company again, emailed her several times and called as well... no one ever got back to me. This is highly unprofessional. Desperate, I attempted again a month after and got denied once more. I was not asking for a huge loan amount and I've seen worse credit scores. Would not recommend them to anyone.

Springleaf Financial approved me for more than I applied for and needed at the time, but the additional money helped out. They were great to deal with, even though my co-signer and I have both had some credit challenges in the past. I'm hoping that by consolidating a few of my bills that I won't need to use them again, but if I ever need another loan after this one is paid off, I won't hesitate to call them again. I'd definitely recommend them to others. The office staff here in Phoenix was very pleasant to work with. The rate was so much better than a title loan. Between lowering the rate on my vehicle and paying off other debts, I'm saving over $220/month.

She went over the loan and assured me that there were no ridiculous fees and the interest rate was all I would be charged. I was told this by the rep. The truth is, Springleaf charges me 103 dollars a month for this loan in what they call "interest and charges". My payments are 150 a month, 50 dollars goes to the principal. I too called the 1-800 #. I was told I meet the requirements and would be contacted by my local branch here in Alabama. Well, first they did not contact me I had to contact them. Their reason for not contacting me was they were short handed. Well the lady took more information from me and told me she would get back with me in the morning. It was 12:00 noon and I still had not heard from them. So, I called only to be told my loan was denied because of my credit history, which I'll admit is bad. Isn't that what they advertise even bad credit is OK. After speaking to them they may as well had told me I needed perfect credit. I was told that I was denied because I filed bankruptcy in 2011 (that has been discharged), I had some late payments, collection items and charge-offs since my bankruptcy and that I cannot have these problems. DUH, that's where the bad credit comes from. What they didn't know is why my credit is in the state it's in.
I had Identity theft in 2013 and 2014, and have the proof to show it. My husband has been off work on medical leave for four months with no income coming in and I also had a big debt ($84,000.00) discharged two weeks ago that will be removed from my credit report. Have proof of that as well. They didn't speak to me about my situation before making a decision, everything was based on my credit report. I do not think this is fair at all. I called to speak with the manager. He was out to lunch and ask that he return my call. I guess he's still out lunch, because I am still waiting on his call. The customer service here is terrible.

I received my loan acceptance email on the 10th and could not make it there right away, and I also wanted to weigh my options. It should also be noted in the email that it asked me to bring a title to my car, which was not mentioned at any point during the application.
So fast forward to August, my wife and I, forgetting we had already applied for Springleaf applied again, and got a rejection due to duplicate application. Realizing this and remembering it was one of the places we had been accepted too, I call the local office and they have no record of my application. Let me start by saying, I read many reviews and took a few days to consider whether or not I was going to attempt to apply for a personal unsecured loan. You have to be so careful these days trying to figure out which companies are legit and which ones are not, especially online. Many of the reviews I read said mostly great things about this company. I had an unexpected financial expense that came about and thought, okay, let me try, because I really needed the financial assistance. I applied online for a loan in the amount of $4,500. Next thing I know, I received confirmation that I was approved! It took almost a day or so before I actually spoke to someone at which time I find out that I was approved for a secured loan of $4,500 and not an unsecured loan.
Apparently the only way the loan would go through is if I had collateral (car title) or a co-signer, which I had neither. So of course I was then denied. I would have even been okay with a smaller amount. Even $2,500 (Unsecured). Every bit helps. Needless to say, I went from being very pleased to very disappointed. I wish I had know during the initial application process that I needed collateral, which would have saved me the time from applying for the loan in the first place.

They were very apologetic about the situation and said they will take care of me once the system is back up. This was very frustrating. On 7/29, I called instead of making a pointless trip to the branch again. This time the guy stated, "You are denied."
According to the document, after the completion of my online application, I had to schedule an appointment, bring an government issued I.D., last two paystubs, and most recent bank statement. I was prescreened for approval. Why not tell me this information upfront to prevent me from wasting my time? I gathered all of this information needed to complete the loan and was denied before sitting with an agent at the branch. On top of that, I had to wait 3 days. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

I submitted my application online on 07/22/2015. I received a email stating that I need to contact the local office to set an appointment to discuss my loan options. I called the Tallahassee, Florida office and a gentlemen answered the phone, stating that they were extremely busy and that they will touch base with me soon. On 07/25/2015, approximately 1:02 pm three days later, I received a phone call from the local office asking me a few questions about a couple things on my credit report. I then asked her what was my status on my recent application and she said that everything looks pretty good and that the underwriter would need to review it and make a final decision.
It is now 07/28/2015 and I haven't heard anything back from them. I don't understand and quite frankly disappointed. My credit score is a little above 600 and I pay my bills on time. I even got approved with "The Lending Club" earlier this year and they have stricter guidelines than Springleaf. Now my credit score dropped down due to this hard inquiry with Springleaf and no one called to say I was approved or declined for my $1100 loan request. With this being said, after seeing previous post about Springleaf customer service, I would have not applied and risking damage to my credit score that I'm trying extreme hard to maintain and repair. I recommend upper management look into customer complaints and how things are conducted at their Springleaf offices.

I had applied for small personal loans previously with Springleaf and had been denied. I've been successful in improving my credit recently but found myself in a difficult financial situation and decided to apply again at the recommendation of Credit Karma. To my surprise, I was approved! Or so I thought. For $2500 I was asked to provide a car title in my name which I do not have. I am a cosigner on my husband's vehicle and my vehicle is in my husband's name and will not be paid off until spring. I could understand if the loan was for a larger amount? Really not happy that I was not given an opportunity to continue proving my credit worthiness.
Thanks.

I came to Springleaf with the hopes of getting a loan for an emergency that came up. I completed the online application which said I was approved. I called the location on Thomas and spoke to a man there and he said I need this and that for collateral and that due to my bankruptcy they couldn't help me. Well first off my bankruptcy was all medical bills which I filed to simply get my credit score to go up. When you're told you're approved and then called and they also tell you "You're approved but I can't help you." WHAT!?!? I said "So you're not able to help me with ANY amount?" He said no.. So what was the approval for? I don't get it. I don't think he took the time to help me. Terrible Customer Service!!! Meanwhile I am still looking for help! I thought I found it. Beyond Disappointed!!

I was attempting to reorganize some unsecured debt by paying off revolving credit card debt and putting it where an end date for paying off the debt could be realized. My primary goal was to take a first step toward reducing the net to debt ratio on the revolving credit - and then over time improve my credit rating. I additionally was hoping to get some extra money to pay for some much-needed home improvements.
The Springleaf Financial offer was at a rate of interest comparable to that of the credit cards and seemed to be an attractive option. The online application was sent to a local branch office where I was able to sit down with a representative and discuss my loan request. I ended up getting a slightly larger amount than what the online application approved and the process was fast and simple. I had the loan check the same day that I met with the local branch rep. I was skeptical when first logging onto the website. But after my experience, I would recommend this business to anyone.

My credit score is in the low 600's and the loan was advertised for good or bad credit, so I decided to apply. My credit is not necessarily bad. It is just that I don't have much showing on my reports. I was only asking for a $1000 loan and was denied due to lack of a cosigner. If I had a qualified cosigner, I would likely borrow the money from them instead of requesting a loan. Very disappointed as I have read many good things about Springleaf and truly believed they could help someone who needs a small loan and is trying to establish credit.

I applied for a loan online in March 2015. Almost instantly I was sent an approval notice via email, along with a phone call from one of their offices. At first the woman was very nice and helpful, gathering information. No more than 10 minutes into the process she informed me that I did not qualify due to my credit score. At that point she became borderline rude when I questioned why. I have the income to pay back the loan, have been at my job more than 2 years, and if need be could get a cosigner or use one or more of my vehicles as collateral. She said none would help as my credit score is all that mattered. When I told her about the email I received, I was told everyone gets one like that, it doesn't mean anything. What a waste of time.
Thanks.

I applied for a debt consolidation loan online with Springleaf on June 17, 2015 and received an email from them stating that they couldn't do anything as there was a duplicate application within the last 30 days. Then this morning, I received an email from the local branch manager, **, that stated: "We appreciate your interest in Springleaf. Our friendly, professional staff is ready to serve your financial needs in any way we can. Please contact our local office at 1-480-899-2350 at your earliest convenience. We'll be happy to discuss any questions you may have and review our loan programs. We're proud of our personalized services and hope you give us the opportunity to show you what we can do for you. We're here to help you! **, Branch Manager"
So I called them, was put on hold for about 15 seconds, was transferred to **'s office, he looked up the loan application, stated he couldn't find any duplicate applications, and then transferred my call to ** to complete the application. Call was picked up by some guy who stated ** was currently working with another person so he would handle the application. He started out pleasantly enough, confirmed address, place of work, then asked about take home pay. This is where Springleaf's "we can help you" disappeared super fast. When I gave him my current take home pay, he immediately said "Can't help you, it's too low." I stated that part of the debt consolidation would be to pay off the VA which was taking $150 per pay period out of my check. When they were paid off, that would automatically increase my take home pay.
His tone after this turned very disinterested and he then said that didn't matter because I have student loans which I pointed out were in deferment since I'm in grad school. He said that still didn't matter because I have several write offs/collections on my account, and when I begin to explain that the majority of the remainder (after paying of the VA) was to pay off the collections account, he kept interrupting saying it doesn't matter, debt-to-income ratio, you have student loans, etc. I asked about a lower amount just to pay off the collections account and a couple high interest short term loans, and no sooner were the words "lower amount" out of my mouth, this guy continued with his spiel about student loans, debt-to-income, etc.
I end up telling him that they obviously don't intend to follow through with their email stating that they are "ready to serve your financial needs in any way we can," and to remove me out of their system, and I'll just keep paying off my high interest short loans and letting the VA take money automatically from my paycheck. It is obvious Springleaf hires people who don't listen, have little to no comprehension skills, have a policy that must be to not help anyone out unless they have no credit whatsoever -- or perfect credit where you don't need them anyways, and they are not interested in your financial situation or an explanation on how after you consolidate your debts you can easily afford to pay them.
So be aware when dealing with this company. If you have less than stellar credit, student loans in deferment, and a wage garnishment that you are trying to get rid off through a consolidation loan, they will just tell you in a very disinterested voice that they can't do anything for you. However, if you really don't need any financial assistance, they will obviously be all about helping you (just like any bank or credit union will do).

On June 17, 2015 I applied for a loan in the amount of 5000.00 to consolidate credit cards. After a very short application process I was told that it would take a couple hours to get an answer. Let me state that my credit is poor but as far as my payment history I have a rating of 100% payback. I got a call from Springleaf that my loan request had been denied and that was it no explanation, nothing less was said. After a few minutes I called back and asked why or if I would be receiving a notice of the reason my loan was not funded. I spoke to a young man and was told that it was because of my monthly budget demands and student loans. I ask how you can judge the funding of a loan because of student loans because they are in deferment until December of 2016. I am still attending school, and as far are the budget the consolidation of bills is to get your budget into an amount that is controllable.
I am sorry but their reasoning made no sense to me. I am being denied funding on an event that will take place in 18 months. The young man took more information and said that he would resubmit my application and would call me back. I never got a call but what I did receive was a e-mail that stated that I was trying to access my student loan information through the wrong website. The last time I had access my information was two months ago, so I can accuse that the only source of this inquiry was Springleaf. All they had to do was to ask and I would have printed off the information and given it to them.
Just because my credit far from perfect I am still a honorable person and I do not try to hide or give misinformation. The only reason I applied for a loan was for consolidation because I know I am in need to get my budget in control and eliminate a very high interest loan and credit card debt. This was a recommendation through CreditKarma.

No sooner did I click off my computer, my telephone was ringing. Her name was **. She was nice, started asking me why I needed the $7000 - I told her. She started asking me if I owned a home, where I worked, what my monthly salary was. After answering all these questions, she told me I would never be approved unless I had a co-signer because my debt to income was too high based on my monthly salary. I then said to her “well it said I was approved for $4000.” She said “that's just based on your credit”, but when factoring in my other bills I would not qualify.
I still have the e-mail saying I was approved for the $4000. What gives - why doesn't the e-mail say “we may not be able to approve you for this loan without other information.” After I hung up with **, I immediately called her back & left a message saying even though I own a home the mortgage is just in my husband's name not mine so that shouldn't have any bearing where my salary is concerned. Of course she didn't call me back. I feel like you think you are approved only to be told you are not. Not happy. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well. My overall experience with Springleaf was relatively good for the last year and a half but began to deteriorate this year around April. I got a phone call from the Mesquite office and was told that a payment that I made online had returned. I never got any report from my bank that anything had returned and it is almost impossible for a check to return as I have overdraft protection from lines of credit and savings account, Springleaf then charged me a late fee and a return check fee. I was told that the fees were refunded, after complaining to the office staff and talking to the District Manager.
Last week, I paid off the account and got a call several days later stating that the payment had returned. I was likewise charged a return check fee. After another fight of several days between me, the branch office staff, the and the general manager and the corporate office, I was told that the return check fee was reversed. That last fight took everything out of me and although the fee was reversed, Springleaf was successful in charging me additional interest fees for several more days until I took certified funds to pay them off on 06/12/2015. The good part about this was this saved me about 1000 in interest. I felt that these fights were a ploy to charge additional interest fees instead of having care and compassion for the customer. I may do business with Springleaf again but it will be with another branch office.
Here are a couple of more issues that I have. Why does my statement have two account numbers. At the top of my statement there is an account number of **, yet at the bottom of the statement there is an account number of **. With two account numbers, how would the bank know which account to place the payment to.An additional issue is the fact that when you look up my payment history, it shows no reference of any payment returning. How could Spring leaf prove their complaint of two returned payments if my history shows no such thing. Again you never showed me proof that a payment returned and one employee told me that the last payment problem was an issue on Springleaf's website. I never got an apology. Is this the way to take care of your customers?

I have been with Springleaf for a while and I'm always at least a month ahead on my loan. Recently almost every month I have received a call from the Shreveport, LA location asking me if I wanted to renew my loan or get additional money. I told them that I couldn't since I was closing on a home and couldn't afford any hard inquiries. Towards the end of my closing I went to the Shreveport location to see what they had to offer. They told me that they could renew my loan up to $2,000 for $140 a month and I wouldn't have to make the first payment until July. I told them that sounded good so they ran a hard inquiry and told me that the only way they could help is if I refinanced my car note with them instead of my current creditor. I gave them the payoff amount and vin number.
I never heard anything back from them to say if they could do the refinancing of my car loan or renew my current loan up to $2,000 or up to the amount I've already paid. Then I had to explain to my home finance company why I had a recent hard inquiry. I just feel that if a company keeps calling on a regular basis trying to offer you money then they need to either offer money or stop calling. Just my opinion. I'm working on finding a way to pay off my balance with Springleaf since I have no desire to be one of their customers.

Springleaf has sent me more than one offer in the past, and I have always tossed them, thinking that they were a company looking to prey upon consumers with less than perfect credit. After receiving the most recent offer, and doing some research, I decided that it sounded like a good idea. The interest seemed high, however I expected it to be so. My ex-husband opened up numerous accounts before our divorce was final and without my knowledge, seeking to destroy my credit. I have judgments against him for all of the amounts owed, however he can pay if and when he feels like it - leaving my only recourse to spend more money going back to court, and most likely having the same end result.
So, receiving an offer in the mail, with something manageable was appealing to me. After much debate and research, I applied today, and received an immediate denial from them. I am frustrated and angry and don't understand why this company would send out offers that they have no intention of fulfilling. Now, I have yet another thing to further lower my score. Thanks Springleaf.

I don't understand this loan company. They send me offers all the time. I take the time to fill out my loan papers. Lo and behold they always deny me. I wish they would stop sending me offers if they already know they are not going to accept it. It's all just a waste of time.

Really?? The reason for termination or credit denial was that my credit application was incomplete?? Did somebody try to call me?? NO... after I made my application online in Feb. 2015... no answer till march 9 2015 when I received letter from Springleaf Financial... a statement of credit denial, termination, or change notice: 1-PRINCIPAL REASON FOR CREDIT DENIAL, TERMINATION, OR CHANGE NOTICE: This section must be completed in all instances; Credit application incomplete. Why nobody called me?? And now I did another application... I'm waiting. My credit score is today: 707. I'm new in USA (since 2013) with new credit. Never had loans, mortgage, etc and on my 2 credit card, I'm always on time with payments so... but one in all, I'm very disappointed with Springleaf Financial...

I have been paying on a 10,000 loan for 9 years, the balance is now 7,500. They put my loan as a second mortgage with 13.80 interest and tell me that's the lowest they can go. I tried to work things out and settle but they said the director didn't approve it. Before they had actually called me back, I filed a BBB complaint. So a few days into conversing with them to come up with a solution, the executive office told me I filed a BBB complaint so they can no longer talk to me. I have a witness, this is unjust. And to make it worse, they must be paying BBB under the table because they haven't responded to the complaint on BBB website for 3 weeks. The point of BBB is to help and what type of company shuts you down after contacting the BBB? A predatory one.

This business really cares about you as a customer. I wanted to purchase a RV out of town. They worked with me and the seller to make sure we could get into it right away so the seller did not have to wait or sell to anyone else. I worked with 2 branches and it was fluid. They care to help you get what you want and work with you. They did not have to work so hard or stay in contact so often. I was in contact with them from start to end. ** even called to make sure we made it home ok as the RV was 120 miles away.

I received an offer for a consumer loan through the US Postal Service. We made original contact through their Internet website. Shortly afterward the manager of the local office contacted me and provided detailed information for the application process. She made an appointment with me that same afternoon and processed our application. The loan was approved and a check generated right away. This loan generated the funds necessary to consolidate our credit card debt.

Had not a mistake had been made on my behalf, could have received twice as much. I have never gone through but one major lending company for a small loan and Springleaf Fin. out-shined them by far. The company is GREAT, there was no hassle - just straight to the business at hand. Where were you guys years ago? So sorry I'm just hearing about you, but perfect timing is everything. I applied for a personal loan online. I have poor credit. I received an email that I was approved for what I requested. I called this morning and talked to **. She told me to send information about my wages and my wife's wages. Then they called and said that they would needed a copy of my vehicle information. All the while with a friendly helpful attitude. As I started to gather the vehicle information, I received a call from **. He was extremely rude and began berating me about the whys of hows of my bad credit.
Look, if I didn't have poor credit, I would not have been dealing with them in the first place. I would have gone to a lender that had a way lower interest rate. What I don't get is why they would ask for all the info and then go back to the initial credit. I would have preferred being denied from the start, so I would not have to deal with that B.S., but hey, I get a FREE credit report. Awesome!

I owe Springleaf 1,300.00, right? And I had the need of 500, amount they approved to lend me. When I went to pick up the money, I asked how much my debt was going to be. The amount went up over 3,500.00. Mad about the situation I ask, "Why, why that much?" He replied was, "The Government applied those rules." I know many of this places broke city ordinances in the way they lend money to people in great need. I know the City or Government have to check on this kind of business and how they operate. I think they already took too much money from one loan of 2,000 that I am paying almost 4,000.00 for that loan. I think it's time to wake up an Investigation.

I lost my job and I called them as soon as it happened. I also told them that I had applied at another plant and would notify them as soon as I was hired. I had to go through three interviews. When I spoke with them at first they said they would work with me on this matter and so they have called every week to keep in touch to see when I was going to start work again. I told them I had gone through the final interview and I was waiting. I then was told and this isn't the first time they have said this to me. That if I didn't pay something my bike would come take my bike they are financing.
I have always paid them every month. I'm very upset and I may only be 1 month behind because I can't start work until June. I am afraid to even call them because I know what they will say. I'm to the point to where I may have another finance company take over the loan I have with them. Because getting phone calls every week when I know the procedure of a repossession is quite annoying and getting on my last nerve. I'm responsible and take care of things. Losing my job was not expected. Things happen and to get harassed is not something I enjoy at all. They were very nice when I first got my bike and when I needed extra money. But the minute I may be a day or two late they throw the ole repo card at me. I'm absolutely sick of it..

After a few months of husband retiring, selling our home, moving from east to west coast, I overlooked a payment. But as I always pay payments ahead of the due date. My August payment (I overlooked) was paid by the September payment, which came in on the 5th of the month, DUE DATE the 8th. So Springleaf applied that to the August (2014) payment. GREAT! Then when the mail caught up with me before the end of SEPTEMBER (2014). I discovered what I did, spoke with them and made the payment for the amount they requested - $862 and some cents. Which they received and credited on September 30, 2014. BUT THE PROBLEM... according to them all the monies were not FUNDED CORRECTLY. A portion to the September 2014 bill, a portion to the interest causing the payment to be late (but not 30 days late), and the final amount being the OCTOBER 2014 PAYMENT. Great. So I thought.
My husband's job requires us to travel, as he is on location a lot. I schedule the payments to be paid appropriately before the due date. And HECK... I had it caught up in October and we were good. So I thought. Finally in May 2015, we are off location with my husband's job and I pick up the mail. Springleaf bill $821 and some cents. A month in the rears. So I call, the man I speak to says... "You missed your August payment." I look at my bank account and pull up all the payments for Springleaf from January 2014. I look and yes, the August bill was missed. OMG! I think, WHAT DID I DO. My first thought, was to quickly get this balance (past due paid). While I am on hold (while the agent is checking) I look at the payments for Springleaf and see Sept 5, 2014 payment made $425.00; Sept 30, 2014 payment made of *$862. and some cents.
So the man comes back on the line and I said, "Okay wait a second." I see what happened and I explain the payments. $425.00 made on Sept 5, before the 8th payment date which did not cause my account to be 30 days late. On September 30, the amount you requested plus interest was made for September and this included the October 8, 2014 payment. The man says, "Well that amount was credited to the principal on the account." I asked, "Why would you do that, when this was the amount you asked me to pay?" Now is where it gets interesting. The man says, not verbatim, "Well we don't know where you wanted us to apply the money so it was credited to the principal and you owe for August of last year 2014 plus interest." SERIOUSLY, AM I STUPID.
I said "well that makes no sense" and he went on being rude and condescending to me, so I asked to speak to a supervisor. After me on hold for about 6 minutes he came back and was still rude, I told him I did not want to speak with him, but to a supervisor. He said, "I have to tell you the supervisor is not available and you will get a call back within 48 business hours." No! FOR THIS SITUATION THAT WAS NOT APPROPRIATE. So I called back in and spoke to a young lady. Who understood my dilemma but stated her hands were tied and no matter what I still owed the outstanding interest of some $27.00. NO! FOR THIS SITUATION THAT WAS NOT APPROPRIATE. I stated I wanted this handled before I left town again. She stated that in order to better serve me, that I could set up FOR SPRINGLEAF TO TAKE THE MONEY DIRECTLY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT.
NO! NO! NO! That certainly was not going to happen, when they couldn't apply the funds appropriately. BUT AT THIS POINT, she informed me that the MAN I spoke with, was working with the Supervisor to resolve my issues. REALLY??? Why was that happening when I was told the supervisor was not available. So I asked to have that person call me. That still has not happened. I called back in today. They still want to collect $27 in late interest, which they are not owed, which is causing my payment to be late. Tomorrow the 7th of the month they will get my May 2015 payment and it will go in the arrears by $27 and it will accumulate ADDITIONAL INTEREST.
THIS COMPANY TOOK OVER MY LOAN FROM HFC, which OMG forgot to clear the loan when they sold the house, because of my mother's illness, which I was on their loan on the first and on the second. So I am paying on A MORTGAGE LOAN which was a 2ND that did not go with the house, when sold and when they talk about the loan they still say this is for the property at....... address, really. That house has been sold twice now and I would have bought before they sold it. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF IDIOTS, THIEVES and clearly no one knows what they are doing. No supervisor calls. No one can FIX THE PROBLEM. No one even truly knows what they are doing.
HFC WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE GIVEN ME AN ACCOUNTING OF THIS LOAN (they did not). Every month I pay more than the payment (that amount is never credited to principal). Even though I have asked them for an accounting never received, I have asked repeatedly for an accounting of my additional funds and the interest adjustment accordingly. I have told them all extra funds are suppose to go to the principal. Clearly they did that in September 2014, without paying attention to what their people asked for with those funds, which were received on September 30, 2014. IDIOTS THE WHOLE BUNCH OF THEM. Someone, anyone can give me a call and I can show them what has been done... But they need to resolve this and they just don't!

So I got a letter in the mail saying I was pre-approved for 5250 so obviously I was interested in consolidating some of my debts. What got me angry is them trying to dictate what I pay off with the loan. I'm pretty sure by law they have no right do such a thing. I should be able to pay off what I see fit with the money because either way I'm still paying them. I had one delinquency from 3 years prior so I'm pretty sure I can handle it. I just don't understand why they would force me to pay certain bills rather than the ones that are nuisances. Needless to say I don't find that I would ever suggest anyone else doing business with Springleaf.
