I went through a bankruptcy, needed a car for work and was financed through Credit Acceptance. I was told my note would be 400.00 per month. When I got my payment book, it was 453.00. I think I was charged an interest rate over 23%. The car was 13,000. When I done paying for the car, I will end up paying almost 22,000 for a 2008 used car. They say they are helping you build your credit but they are ripping people off and as soon as you are late, they want to repo your car. Is there a cap on the amount of interest a company charge its customers? They have allowed me to make arrangements on my payments. I fell behind because I was off work for a while, that's the least they could do. I feel like they are taking advantage of their customers making them pay for cars twice. So far I have paid them (approx.) 16,300 and still owe over 5,000. I'm paying almost 9,000 in interest, wow!!!

I had to fix my brakes after putting 600.00 down on the vehicle and approved by Credit Accept. It took 1700 to fix my brakes and put tires on it. I had asked the company that sold me the vehicle to fix the brakes and they actually kept my vehicle for days stating they are fixing it. I got it back just like I left it and I was told that’s the way that particular vehicle is... those brakes are normal for that vehicle, although the brakes went all the way to the floor.

I work daily from daylight to dark. I never have time to have it checked out but on this particular day, I took it in to Tire Kingdom who checked my brakes and tires and said they can't let me back on the with a vehicle that has no brakes and dangerous tires. Thus, I paid to have it fixed appropriately. It my safety. Thus leaving me unable to make my car payment on time.

I only needed a couple more days to get it paid up when I was at work cleaning a client home. I’m a maid... my vehicle was repossessed while standing there at these people’s home looking at the area I parked at and carrying my bucket and mops. I stood there in shock. Not knowing what to and embarrassed beyond belief. My world fell over. I’m a grandma of 5 beautiful grand kids. This is the first time in my life that my vehicle has been repoed. I want justice because what they did was wrong.

Due to bad credit, my husband and I had to use Credit Acceptance Corp when purchasing a used Impala. As we expected, it was high interest - 17% - but I guess that's the price you pay for bad credit. After paying on time for a year, we tried to refinance with our dealership, but had no luck as our credit hadn't improved enough and we owed more than the car was worth (because of the high interest). We kept the car, paid on time every month and saved up until we had enough to pay it off 6 months early.

We then went to the dealership with a paid off car and a sizable down payment for a new car. Sadly, our credit was still being dragged down by old issues, so we still weren't candidates for traditional financing. We asked to work with CAC since we had had a good experience with them. We were approved, but still at 17%. We were a bit disappointed because we hoped CAC would have given us at least an interest point or two off since we have a clean record with them.

We're now paying off our second car with them and have had no problems. Again, because of the high interest rate, we are upside down on this car. We're grateful to CAC for giving us loans when we had no other option but we're working hard to improve our credit score so we can use a lender with a better interest rate for our next vehicle purchase!

If your credit is not acceptable and before you complete a deal at a car dealership for a used car make sure it is not with CAC. Their customer service is poor, the people who work for them are rude. They act like it is their money and you are trying to beat them out of something. Do not do business with this company. If a class action lawsuit is filed, I would like to participate in it. Dissatisfied in Houston. PS. If my bank refinances this loan, I'm gone. Wish me luck.

We offered to pay half today and the rest tomorrow but they wouldn't agree to that. They said they already sent out a notice to a repo company and it was too late. It's one month!! One stinking month and we are always on time!! What is wrong with these people?!?! I have a job that requires me to travel and I have two children (one has an unstable condition) and I can't have my vehicle taken. I am the only person in my household that earns a living. I am tired of companies like this screwing people over! But I am getting Rid of this car and the ** Company. I'm trading it in and if anybody say anything about Re-financing with them its not going to happen. I have had a great experience with CAC. I think most of the problem stems from the fact that most of the complaints are from bottom feeders who refuse to pay bills on time. The reason you needed CAC was because YOU OBVIOUSLY CAN'T PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME OR AT ALL. You go into this deal with the knowledge the interest rate is high, you are a high risk buyer. If you buy a crappy car, it's not their fault you didn't spend the hour and $89 to have a mechanic do an independent inspection. All used car and even new ones are Caveat Emptor. What I see here about CAC has nothing to do with CAC. I am glad that after my wife and I had to declare a medical bankruptcy due to her contracting MRSA from a hospital and an unsuccessful malpractice suit and the Million dollar+ in bills, CAC was kind enough to give us a chance to rebuild our credit. Pay your damn bill on time, you won't have trouble.

Credit Acceptance is a company that rips off their customers. The interest rates are astronomical, and it seems you will never pay off the vehicle. They are ridiculous with calling several times a day on strange numbers. They are inconsiderate and cold. They always ask if you can borrow the money. If you borrow the money, you can't pay them because you have to pay back the person you borrowed it from. I will never recommend and never go with them again to get a loan. Credit Acceptance financed the 1999 Chevy Silverado pickup truck that I sold to the Car Store in Laurel, DE and ten days after that I went and bought it back and there will be a write up on here on that dealership also by me personally. I sold it to The Car Store due to debts. We had to pay but 10 days later I went and bought it back at a very high price which was $7900.00 and to let everyone know the dealer I sold it to was unjustifiably dishonest so people do not buy at the Car Store. Anyways the dealership took my info and submitted it for a lender to approve online and within 3 to 5 min. I was approved and the sales manager called me with as I said within 5 min. after I gave him my info. I had a good credit score but Credit Acceptance put me in a high risk loan and the amount I was to pay to get the truck back I sold the Car Store was to be at most $5675.00 due to the work they claim they had to do to it but did maybe 1 thing to it but I believe that was a lie. As I stated before they had me pay $7900.00 plus with the financing it came to almost $12,500.00 total to get my truck back I sold for $3800.00. There is so much more I can say on that also but that will be on what I post on The Car Store in Laurel, Delaware.

Credit Acceptance also does not send us statements each month that we paid payments or even a balance statement each month. The only time we hear from them is if we are late with a payment and they call several times a day at times. One day we up 10 calls from them so what's that tell you. Credit Acceptance from what I read on complaints from so many people that got mixed up with them that's one finance company that truly needs to be investigated and put out of business because they are so crooked to customers. All I will say if you go to look and buy a vehicle and the dealer you go to takes your application for credit and it comes back that Credit Acceptance approved you for the loan, I would get up and run out of that dealership because if you don't and sign that loan you made a big mistake.

As I said read the complaints on them and by the way the truck I bought back and after I realized what I had to pay to get it back I did take it to quite a few dealers and ask them what they would have asked for this truck and they told me their book value for on their lot was in very good condition $5800.00 but for my truck they could only try to get $4500 due to it was in only fair condition at most and the one dealer I took it to also took it back to their body shop to get what it would cost them to get the body to where it was in decent condition that cost for them was $4000.00. So what's that also say on the dealer and Credit Acceptance? They work together.

I financed a vehicle from Credit Acceptance and got my car repo when I was only 3 weeks late. I called and was very upset and began to take my anger out on the first rep I got. Although I felt like I made arrangements and my car was still repo at the end of the day it's my responsibility to pay my car note on time. People need to be more aware of the contracts they get themselves into! My biggest mistake was settling for the high interest rate but I really needed a car and of course my credit wasn't good at all. However I got my car back, paid on time, and their program actually raised my credit score. The rep I got was very nice and explained to me that per the contract I signed, at any time a payment isn't made on time, my car was in jeopardy of repossession. I didn't argue because she showed exactly where that was stated in the contract I signed.

Bottom line when you agree to something like that, you are expected to keep your end of the deal. If most people took ownership of their own downfall, then they wouldn't be mad. I felt bad when I first called because I literally let her have it. I now understand their program and have recommended others with no credit in need of vehicles but advised them to pay attention and go over the contract. They are not the traditional finance company being they are a second chance finance company. So I just feel like consumers need to pay more attention and take ownership. Besides if payments were paid on time they wouldn't have an issue. PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE. When the rent is late eventually you get kicked out right or when your cable bill or phone bills are past due your service will eventually get cut off.

The vehicle was $11000 when I got to the dealership and after my down payment, my loan with Credit Acceptance ended up being over $16000. It was insane, but I needed a vehicle and unfortunately had bad credit. A week after going home with the vehicle, I received a call stating they were taking my car due to never bringing the down payment... After going through my receipts with the owner and being accused of stealing the car, they came to find the salesman kept my down payment for himself.

The car turned out to be a lemon after 6 months. My mechanic insisted I get rid of the vehicle. He said there was more to be done on the vehicle than it was worth no matter what I was willing to pay. I called Credit Acceptance to take the vehicle back and they stated I would still owe the entire amount to include interest with them and they took the vehicle. I am now paying that debt off and finding it even more difficult to get a car than before I had even used them. They are not a fair company. Instead they choose to join the most non-credible dealers in scamming unfortunate people into impossible payoff loans for vehicles that should have never been on the road.

I do have a balance of behind payments which I do not understand. The amount is $1400, but this changes constantly depending on who I speak with. I got connected with CCA after a bankruptcy and I needed a car. The payments are too high, but I was stuck. I began a new job where I took over a $5.00 an hour cut in pay. I am single and support myself. I am almost 65 years old.

CCA scares me because I do not believe they are honest. They grab on to people that are in bad situations and promise that you can refinance the loan after 1 yr. of on-time payments. When I asked about this after my payments were made on time for the year, I was told no, they do not refinance. I want to get rid of this car and get with someone who is honest, but more is owed on this car than what it is worth. I believe that is their process; that way, they can repossess and sell for under value and then come back to you for the balance. Now, when we call them, they say, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience but the computer didn't post it in time." It was paid on Saturday via Western Union (rapid payment), so why do you have my van if you have $300 of my money and paid before Monday? If it's your mistake, why not fix it then? Now they want $155 for the towing to get it back? Your mistake = you fix it, I thought.

This place is ridiculous! I would recommend that no one, under any circumstances, use this company! You are asking for trouble! I had a car financed through them. Worst mistake of my life. The car was a lemon. I could not afford car payments and car repair, so I called them and said to come get the car as I don't have the money and I was getting further into debt. They did come to get the car. I called them a week later asking about the remaining balance on the loan. I was told that the car would be sold that following week and to call back then. I did and left my name and number on a voicemail. I never got a call back ever, and finally, I got tired of calling and quit making attempts.

Three months ago, I found out that they were filing a judgment against me and were planning on garnishing my paycheck. The only reason I even knew this was about to happen was because I looked myself up on my local clerk of courts website. I never ever received anything from this company in writing or otherwise that explained anything about this situation. They never contacted me after the many attempts I had made. And they did garnish my paycheck, four times. I filed bankruptcy to clear this up, and I will make sure that everyone I speak to is fully aware of Credit Acceptance Corp and their sneaky tactics and what a low-life group of scum is employed there. I am a single mother, who could not afford the garnishment, and it really put a strain on me. And the sad part is that I would have gladly worked out some type of arrangement with them had I been given the opportunity. So again, I say please, please, please stay away from this company!

They yell at you at and will hang up on you. They will also take your car even though you've made a payment and are current. I would never recommend the company. Well almost a year after that, I found out Credit Acceptance had a lien on my land, and I never owned the car but they claim I was the cosigner. But they never contacted me when the car was repo to give me a chance to maybe keep the car or work something out.

I'd never take a chance on losing my land. I'm a single mom with two disabled kids trying to make it and just recently lost everything in April tornado. I purchased a car through a dealership in Little Rock, AR. First off, the young lady that worked at this particular dealership told me the vehicle was $7,000. I proceeded to want the vehicle. So, the young lady checked my credit and income and stated I needed a cosigner. My sister said that she would cosign the vehicle for me. Well, I put $1,200 down on the vehicle and also had the vehicle put in full coverage insurance. After, I received the paperwork on the vehicle, I saw that the vehicle was $12,000 on the contract after interest was added and the young lady took it upon herself to put my sister’s name as the owner instead of the cosigner.

Once I got home in the vehicle, I smelled gas. So, I called the car dealership and they told me to bring the vehicle so that it can go in the shop. The following week, I had oil leaking from the vehicle. So, the vehicle went to the shop again. Well two weeks later, the vehicle was leaking gas. I decided to give the vehicle back because I'm realizing that it is a lemon costing me a whole lot of money and problems.

Well, it’s been seven years later now and my check has begun to get garnished for $7,000 without me even receiving a notice in the mail about this garnishment. I'm in the process of getting a lawyer involved because I'm the one who lost in the end and now Credit Acceptance wants me to pay for a vehicle I don't even have. Please people, if you have had Credit Acceptance to finance a vehicle for you and you no longer have that vehicle, go ahead and get an attorney involved before your check is garnished without notice. CAC Financed a car to me with no title: I financed a 2006 Kia Sportage through a small local car dealership in 2011. I paid my car notes on time for three months. I got 5 days behind on my car payment. They repoed my car. The very next week I saved up enough money to pay for the repo fees and the car note. In the meantime, while I was getting up the money, they had my car taken to a local dealer’s auto auction and detailed the vehicle to get ready to sale. I went to the auction place to get my car and noticed it no longer had the tag I purchased on it. I called around and asked for the tag and nobody knew anything and denied ever taking the tag off the vehicle because they were not allowed to take anything off the car. The next step was for me to go to the tax collector and get a replacement tag since mine was gone. I got to the tax collector’s office and was informed that they could not issue me a replacement tag because the dealership never turned in the vehicle’s registration papers to the state.

So, I go to the dealership to get the registration papers. I was told that this car dealership jumped ship in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago taking 40 of their best cars and moved to Jackson, TN. I was very upset and distraught by this news. I contacted my finance company CAC and informed them of this and told them that I wasn't able to get tags and now I’m driving around my town with no tags on my car. The tax collector informed me when I was there that I would need a copy of the title in order for them to issue me a tag. When I asked the title department for a title (after waiting two weeks for someone to return my phone call), they informed me that they did not have the title and would have to look for it and get back in touch with me. **! They financed a vehicle to me without having the title!

I informed the woman that I was driving my car around with no tag and was going to get a huge ticket. She contacted one of the other dealerships in Memphis, TN that this idiot that skipped out in the middle of the night owns. She gave me the name and number of the general manager, told me to contact him, and that she told him all about my situation and I can go up there and get a temporary tag from him so that I wouldn’t get a ticket. I called him and had to tell him everything all over again because he had no idea who I was or what my issue was. He informed me that he would call me back because he was going to talk to another manager about it and see if he was aware of it. He never called me.

I was so mad and distraught over this mess. I realized that this can't be right - this is fraud. How can a company legally finance a vehicle without a title? I contacted my finance company and told them that this was unfair and that I was not going to continue to pay a car note of a vehicle that I can't even get tags on or drive for that matter. They repoed my vehicle again, but this time it took them about 2 or 3 months to repo it. It took them that long because they didn’t have the title. I’m wondering if they had to do a title bond on it. A week ago, I get served with a 30-day order to contact their lawyer. I’m contacting a civil attorney to counter-sue for fraud.

I was being told I was on the title and that it would be easy to put my name on the title, so I could get tags, etc. on it and that CAC would work with me on this. So in February, March, and April, they didn't take a payment. Supposedly, I was told they would work with me but couldn't refinance the payments but would wait till my mom's life insurance came in and let me pay the whole thing off.

When David in titles wrote and sent paperwork to the DMV, I received a letter stating I would have to go to court to open my mom's estate then I could get my name on the title. Due to the carelessness of CAC, someone made a mistake on my name not being on the title but just on the loan as a co-signer. On April 11, they called me, wanting a payment. When I told her I didn't have it and that CAC said they were working with me till my mom's life insurance came in, she said they were no longer able to do that and that I would be in repo status on April 25.

My hands are tied on this. I'm not sure I have a legal right, and I just know that the people I have talked to that work with CAC have lied to me from January on. And now, I and my son are without a car and live in the country. I had also called them every so often to update them on my mom's life insurance, so they would know what was going on.

Today, some girl tried to tell me I had always been behind on my payments and they were auto pay on the 1st of each month. No way was I ever late on payments until February 2012. These people lie and don't care about their clients. I only found out they do not refinance, even when someone is in a major situation. If you're a good payer and you're 1/2 through your payments, they should look at your history and work with you instead of saying they can't. Of course, they can, if they wanted to.

My father-in-law, who is in his 70's, purchased a vehicle financed through Credit Acceptance Corp. on 11/08/2011. He traded in his truck and paid an additional down payment. On 12/08/2012, his first payment was due and was made. On 1/8/2012, his second payment was due with a late date listed as 1/18/2012. On 1/20/2012, his battery went dead in the truck which apparently disabled some tracking device on the vehicle.

On 1/23/2012, his truck was repossessed. Upon calling to inquire as to why they would repo his car over a few days, I was told that he disabled his tracking device so that sent and automatic repo order through the computer system and the repo company had just found it. They said he was hiding it from them to prevent the repo. Really?! He though his car which was 5 days behind on payment was up for repo? It was broken down in the front yard of his home, which is listed on the contract. Yet they say he had been hiding it from them. I asked why no one called to ask if his battery had gone dead and I was told that on the 9th of January with no payment, he could have been subject to repo and they were nice enough to wait an additional few days. They also said had his battery never gone dead, they would have called to inquire about his payment. FYI - the vehicle has not been registered and they do not have a perfected lien on the truck.

The dealership screwed up the contract and listed the sales tax amount as N/A and did not explain to the 78 year old buyer that he would have to pay $1,000.00 in taxes to register the vehicle, which is why his payment was late. I have the title and all paperwork to register, which it took the dealership 2 months to send to him and in the contract, it does not specify that he can be held in default within the same month that the payment is due. I know they don't have to call or notify him that his payment is due, but he got rookie doomed by the dealership and the finance company.

He lost his trade in and his new truck when the payment book says amount due if paid before 1/8/2012 - amount due of paid after 1/18/2012 - now they want the payment plus over $200 in repo fees. Not fair, they are helping dealerships acquire vehicles on trade in to resale - then repossessing the new vehicle when the payment is not even 2 weeks late. Actually, only 5 days late.

A very, very bad experience. No stars deserved.

I financed a car with Credit Acceptance Corp. (CAC) in October of 2010. Payment coupon book reflects payments due on 7th of each month and late fee assessed if received after 17th of each month. I used my bank's online bill-pay to make payments.

After 1 year of making/receiving every payment on or before the due date of 7th, this month there is a problem. I made the payment as usual online and it was reflected as having been mailed to CAC on Monday, October 3.

On Monday evening, October 10, upon returning home I had a message from CAC to call them. I also had an angry message from my client in California that Credit Acceptance was trying to contact me and wanted my phone number from them. CAC had left a phone number and contact name with my client in California so they could get me the message. (I live in Florida. I have the same phone number and address/contact information I had at the time of financing 1 year ago. Nothing has changed. I am self-employed. I have a contract with this client in California. I work from my home.)

I called CAC Monday evening, October 10 (bank and mail holiday) after receiving the above messages. I spoke to Vrad **. I was informed by Mr. ** that CAC had not received my car payment due on Friday, October 7. I got online with my bank and informed him the bank reflects having mailed my payment on the Monday, October 3. He stated that, "You are considered a slow pay if your payment is not received by the due date." He verified that late fees are not assessed until 18th of month.

When I inquired about CAC calling my client in California asking them for my phone number (as if they did not have this information), he replied that, "When you are a slow pay, you go into Collections and we make phone calls to track you down." He thought this California number was my place of employment. He offered no apology. (Again, this was Monday October 10, the same day the message was left at my home, and the payment was due on Friday October 7.) He stated, "When online banking is free they are slow to mail payments and sometimes say they mail payments sooner than they did." He told me, "You need to make other arrangements to make this payment due on the 7th as we do not have it." After I told him that the client in California was not a point of contact for me and informed him that CAC is not to contact them, he finally agreed to make a note that that number is not to be used as a point of contact. (I had to argue with him and tell him that I can never be reached at that California number as I live in Florida and that that call made me look bad to my client and may jeopardize my livelihood.)

On Tuesday morning, October 11th, I contacted my bank and the representative verified payment was indeed processed on October 2 and mailed on Monday, October 3. At my request, she then placed a three-way call to CAC to verify to them that the payment was mailed when I said it was. I spoke to James **. Mr. ** reiterated the above comments of, "You are in Collections, you are a slow pay, you need to make other arrangements to cover this payment due on Friday, October 7th, that is not received as of this date," all the while my bank representative was on the phone. He then told me I need to make sure payment is mailed 10-14 days prior to due date in order for them to receive by due date." My bank representative asked, "Why is that?" Then he blamed the U.S. Mail for being unreliable.

It has been my experience that 5 business days is sufficient for mail to go from Florida to Detroit and every other payment has been received by the due date. There was no apology for calling my client in California when I addressed that. He did agree to make a note not to use that as contact number, but stated that, "Because your payment is late and you are in Collections, I cannot guarantee they will not be called."

I thanked the bank representative for her time and ended the call. Again, this is Tuesday, October 11th, 2011, one business day past the due date of Friday, October 7th.

My plan is to wait to see if the check posts tonight or tomorrow before issuing a stop check and making payment by some other immediate method at a fee. Then I would not have to worry about CAC trying to cash the stopped check and causing more problems and/or charging fees. Obviously, there is no trust with these people and their questionable business practices.

I am appalled. I have no idea what to expect of a business that conducts itself this way.

They have impugned my character by representing themselves as "Collections trying to track me down" with my client in California as well as making these types of statements with my banker on the phone.

I do not have any idea what my legal rights are in this situation. Can they legally come and repossess my car in this situation? Can they legally make phone calls to my client in California impugning my character for a payment that is not even one business day late?

Please tell me there are laws to protect people from this type of harassing business practice under these circumstances that is inappropriate at best!

Please advise me what my rights are here.

Consequences of their actions are unknown at this point, Tuesday, October 11th, 2011, other than causing me a great deal of embarrassment and hassle for no real good reason. My client was not happy and does not like to be bothered by this sort of thing, obviously. Who knows how this has adversely affected my relationship with my client. This is my entire livelihood!

These are questionable business practices at best! I have no idea what to expect next from these idiots. If this is how they treat a customer with an excellent payment history, I can only imagine what they do to others.

Please advise. I need to know what my legal rights are here.

I signed up to use their automatic withdrawal system. I set it up so that my payments came out on the 15th and the 30th, and I have been paying this way for two months now. I received a call today stating that I was late on my payment. I asked how could that be when the money is automatically withdrawn on the day that it is scheduled. I have always had the money in there. She explained that because the payment on the 30th falls more than 10 days past my due date (which is the 15th), I accrue late fees and reports on my credit that they are late. They use Western Union as the source to withdraw the funds.

When I set it up online, it gives you the option to choose what days to pay. If this did not fall within my "due date," why did they allow me to choose that? I do not think it is fair that I have been making the payments on time, on the day I promised, and have to pay $11 each time with a bad report! I will never use this company again. It was never explained to me that I could not pick a day to pay ten days after the original due date or accrue late fees. This is completely not fair.

I was in the hospital and I called credit acceptance to let them know i would make my payment on july 21 which was two days later when i got out the hospital i got out the hospital and went to the wound care doctor. By the time i got to my mothers, and went into the kitchen to sit down they were hooking my car up the next door neighboor knocked on the door to let me know what was going on. I got in touch with credit acceptance and explained that i just got out the hospital and i was going to make my payment as soon as i rest for a minute, i told them that i could bring in the hospital papers , so they could tell i was not lieing. know one was interested but said i told the attended in 2 weeks before i could make the payments,If that was true how could i let them take the money out my account right then and a extra 250.00 i think it was very unfair because i had a couple of toes remove and the attended was very rude over the phone with me.

i had just come out of surgery and made it to my room high off the medication, but was able to call credit acceptance. I was so upset after losing 2 more toes and for her to be so rude to me was heartbreaking. i pick up my car in less than 1 hour in wayne michigan.I would like to be reinburst ? my 256.21

My monthly car payment was posted to the wrong person's account and because the problem never got cleared up after multiple calls stating it was. My car was cut off in error and it took them over a week in a half to clear the problem up. Tamika ** never, ever, ever helped me like she said she would. She is a liar and the gentleman that fixed it said she never touched the problem. The issue just sat there with no resolution. I had to due to no fault of my own, catch a cab to work and catch a cab back home with a 3-year old and the problem was never mine to begin with. I have written a letter to headquarters and next I'm getting an attorney because I was treated horribly.

I had purchased a car from them in 2000. After 2 weeks of having in the transmission was going and the company I bought it from told me that they would not fix because I bought it as is, so therefore, I did not pay the payments. They came and repossessed the car and for 4 years, I now have had $450-$500 a month garnished from my check.

I bought the car for only $8000.00, put $1500.00 down and so far have paid almost $20,000 on that car. They said that I am paying on the interest (so the balance of the car is not being paid off ) that's ** . I am contacting an attorney and they want all the paperwork but reading this we will see how that goes. By the way, I just got a notice saying I still owe $4,374.34 and I have paid over $20,000. Never do business with this company!

I am writing this on behalf of my boyfriend who has financed a 2004 Jeep Liberty through CAC. My boyfriend says he is two payments behind on the loan and had planned on making the payments this week, as he is getting a large sum of money from which he will be catching up on the payments. However, this morning the repossession man came to get the car and informed my boyfriend that he is 5 months behind, which is a total lie. As I said, he is only 2 months behind (Sept. and Oct.), and he has the receipts from the money orders to prove it.

When my boyfriend spoke to CAC they said that hadn't received a payment in 5 months (again, another lie). CAC is sending a summary of the account with all payments made to date and we will be sending them copies of the money order stubs so that they can fix their records. I told my boyfriend that he is to send all payments from now on by certified mail only, or do Money Gram and keep all receipts. He also needs to follow up with these people after the fact, so they don't try to ***** him over again! This company is crooked!

This company finances my vehicle. My payment was due on 08/16/10. I contacted the company on 08/12/10 to get an extension on my payment. It was agreed that I would mail my payment on 08/23/10. I did mail my payment on that date. On 08/27/10, my vehicle was placed in repossession and an interruption was activated so that I cannot start my vehicle. I was unable to go to work due to not having a working vehicle.

I missed my car payment for the month of April. They were supposed to shut my car off but instead they came and repossessed it. They told me that I had to pay the month that I missed and the following month and a towing fee to get my car back. I paid these then after my car was released, they told me that I had to pay extra fees that I was never told about, that they made up along the way. They told me they weren't aware of the fees until after the car was released

They told me that they would add it on to my monthly payment a little bit at a time. They added on two hundred dollars a month on to my monthly bill of 404 dollars a month. They did not inform me that it was a contract. They pushed my payment back for me a month and gave me a new payment date which was June the eleventh. which is my normal payment date.

My finances aren't good right now so i didn't pay it on June the eleventh. When I called to see how much the payment was, they told me that is was a thousand something dollars and it was this much because I broke a contract that I wasn't aware of and then they told me that I was backed in payments because the money that they told me was going towards my car payments was actually a redemption fee. So they put the money elsewhere than where it was supposed to go, then changed what they said the money was for again and said it was for backed up car payments. Then they said the extra fees came from them giving me my car back because it cost more for them to give the car back than to sell it.

These jerks keep calling back day after day, multiple times a day, asking to speak to someone I never heard of in my life. They promise not to call back, then call back. They call and hang up, leave a prerecorded message, and/or use a human. Complete morons! I have never done business with Credit Acceptance in all my days. They are total idiots and do not know who they are calling. They have called my number at least 20 times in the past two weeks and have called in the past. They seem to call sporadically about once every three months and this happens to be their "on" period for some unknown reason.

I work for a real estate office , this company has called us everyday for the last 5 months, looking for a former employee. We have told them everytime that this person has moved to California. We have asked them everytime to stop calling, I have even called there phone number and told them not to call and they always promise to stop but they call everyday. The last time they called from this number I told them I would take whatever action I had to to get rid of them.

The last two days they call from a different number which pops up on my caller ID as INTL GATEWAY when I try to call the number back it say this number is no longer in service. I have called my telephone service provider to see if the calls can be blocked, however there is nothing they can do. I would like to know what, if any options we have to deal with these people. They all speak with an Indian accent so I'm not sure if they are in the U.S.

I purchased a car and was financed through Credit Acceptance in 2002 for $12,995 for 5 years. In 2004 the car was reposed and reported to my credit as a charge off with bal. of $9,635 in Dec. of 2004. I wanted this matter rectified, so I contacted Credit Acceptance in Feb. of 2005 to settle out the debt. When I spoke with a rep. for their company they told me my account was with their attorney and stated they had to transfer me to their attorney but of course they transferred me to another collector. Now keep in mind I was calling to pay the bill.

The next collector when asked how much the balance is now keeping in mind my credit report as of Dec. of 2004 stated the balance was just over $9,000 he stated I owed over $23,000. This was ridiculous. I asked him how it got so much in a matter of 2 months he couldnt tell me. He said a lot was due to interest. So I asked him what am I accruing $7,000 a month in interest? He stated he didnt know and also there are attorney fees and court cost that apply. My next statement is I havent been to court yet and Im calling to pay the balance that showed on my credit report. Also I know the vehicle was sold ( of course for less than what I owed ) but how could the bal triple in such a capacity as that in 2 months time. I pulled my credit report last month and the debt is now over $30,000. This company refuses to send me validation of the debt or any paperwork as to why the balance is so much and steady climbing.

I bought a Ford Windstar SEL 2001 from Otto Mitsubishi -Clifton Park, NY in March 2005, and was told because I have bad credit, I could only get financing from one company: Credit Acceptance Corporation or CAC. It's been a nightmare since. It started with them demanding car payments already made. Granted there were two late payments but to protect myself I began sending future payments Western Union Quick Collect. They denied receiving one of those payments although proof was faxed to them numerous times and Western Union as confimed that CAC did receive all payments.

Meanwhile, the car has broken down numerous times -1st time was the week I bought it. CAC had demanded I buy a warranty that I pay $100 dollars a month for - the vehicle could not leave the dealership unless I bought this warranty. When I called OTTO to fix the problems they refuse to honor a loaner rental, agreed to in the contract. I ended up pulling fuses out of the car to solve some of the problems. Now half of the electrical doesn't work.

The vehicle was repossessed August 19, 2005 with all payments current. Now I have no car. CAC is demanding $800 dollars for repossession fees and 1 advanced car payment. They claim to have cancelled the repossession order weeks ago and don't know why the repo company took the car. When I called the repo company they said that was not the case. The car is schedule for shipment to Syracuse, NY in a few days. I have a feeling I have been taken by CAC and Otto Mitsubishi because according to another creditor I owe CAC $25,000 for a car that retails for $11,000 and I am now concerned about hidden charges and what is going to happen to my already tarnished credit report. I am in the process of buying a home and this will kill that deal.
