So I am reading all bad reviews about this company!!! So now I am leery even though I was approved! Yea I have crappy credit and pretty much am at the mercy of whomever will lend me money to buy a decent car. In the past I have had dealings with a repossession and that was a car I had for 5 years and with GM financial. Quite honestly no one in collections is nice... Their job is to intimidate you into paying your loan terms especially if you fall behind. Some loan companies don't give you too many chances and others do to a fault! When my car was repo'D I was 2 months behind with a pending payment... So once that went through I would be only one month.
I had lost my job which caused the hardship and I had made a few attempts to make a payment but had to cancel and reschedule my pending payments a couple times. That was their reasoning for repossessing. According to the woman in collections they couldn't "trust" that my payment would actually go through! Huh??? Why not wait for it to clear and see? I couldn't get the cr back because they didn't want the 2 outstanding payments... They wanted all fees back and present... Late fees, interest etc. So my beautiful Optima went to auction and I bought an old a to b car and am now looking to get into an newer used vehicle. So are these reviews true and accurate? Probably. Now I have to see if I want to take a chance!

My son had a loan through them. After 2 years of automatic withdraw from his bank account, THEY only took $27 out. He called and after being on hold 14 minutes he left them a voicemail to call him back. One month later he leaves work and his car is not in the parking lot. After leaving 2 more voicemails he finally got an agent on the phone who told him he had to come up with 2 months payments in 4 days or it was going to auction! These crooks never called him, never sent him a letter nothing! And it was their fault the payment wasn’t correct! Never again! I will tell everyone I know about this company!

Let's be honest here. I went to a car dealership after a recent repossession in late 2017 and needed a car to get to and from work and get my daughter around the city of Houston where public transportation does not connect to every part of the area we live and Ubers start to get expensive quickly. My credit wasn't the best, and I knew that this was a "second chance finance company". I take responsibility for my part. So a high monthly payment? Ok.
I have to purchase your $1500 warranty? Ok. BUT no one has the right to harass you over a few days late (not a month), no one has the right to flat out LIE to you about being able to refinance in 6 months of "on-time" payments and Do Not ask me to borrow to pay you!! Unacceptable. They will not change your due date or give use not even ONE Extension. The customer service reps are rude and I will not be disrespected no matter what the circumstances. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU CAN AVOID IT. This is a poor excuse of a company and they are taking advantage of an already stressful circumstance.

I sent my pay off to them overnight. And they said it would be posted to my account in 24 hours. Then for them to “audit” my account would take 30 days? To get my title. In this day and age? How? SCAM.

Credit Acceptance use Superior protection plan for their warranty. Superior warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. The way the warranty written it's nothing but legalized racketeering and the consumers are the ones who's going to suffer. Credit Acceptance approve your loan and they use Superior protection plan for the warranty. Trust me there isn't anything Superior about their warranty. God forbid you need to use your warranty because they're not going to pay. Either that's not covered or what's covered they're going to figure out a way not to pay. I've been dealing with this company for a month and my motor is gone out in my car. I'm in so much disbelief until I'm sick. There needs to be a internal investigation on Superior protection plan. This company has pages after pages of complaints.

Just FYI everyone, these people are horrible to deal with. They are rude and untruthful. We were threatened any time we were late on our payment that they had the ability to shut our vehicle off through an ignition bypass switch. Well come to find out that was not true. We paid our vehicle off and are waiting on the title. When I asked them where to get this "ignition bypass switch" removed (since the Company we got the vehicle from is closed) I was told there is no ignition bypass switch on our vehicle. So they threatened us with a lie all this time. Not good customer service.

Run is the 1st thing that comes to mind. They are liars in every sense of the word! Had my 1st dealing with them today. Was told 1st payment would come out April 1st. Get a letter saying I missed my 1st payment March 1st. Called them to tell them they made a mistake and they refuse to say they are wrong. Even with the contract in front of me I read it to them. They still said my fault and now I'm a month behind. POS company. STAY AWAY. JUST RUN.

I am so thankful for this company. They financed my car with NO DOWN PAYMENT. Interest rates are high, but it's a fair trade off for not needing anything down. All the bad reviews on here had me thinking I made a mistake, but turns out people are looking to blame a company that helped you get a car when no one else would. If a company makes a mistake on a payment be respectful when you call to complain about it.
I have had cable, phone, internet companies all shut off service for non payment some by mistake and others because I slipped up and did not manage my money right. Either way I cannot fault them for it completely as if my non payment was somehow their doing. Giving negative feedback is not going to help anything or make C.A. change their policies. It states in my contract as it probably does in yours too that if you miss one payment without notice they can repo your car. Read your contract before you sign so there are no mix ups. I have had great experience with this company so far and am so thankful to have a car.

RUN!! DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH CREDIT ACCEPTANCE GROUP... My car was totaled. They said I owed them 3k more than what the insurance paid. Ok, so full coverage is only partial coverage actually. Then I go on the website. It still says I owe them the full amount after the insurance paid them, so I asked for a print out of what I owe. Still waiting after 2 weeks and they're saying I'm late on a payment that was only given verbally. ALSO... THE WARRANTY COMPANY AFFILIATED WITH THEM DOESN'T EXIST. SAVE YOUR 1500. The downpayment doesn't matter. You will still pay the high monthly fee, interest and fees. Even if you pay the car off be prepared to pay $2500 or more than the car is worth.

This is the worst financing company ever. Unfortunately, I was in a situation where I had to have a car to get to work and transport my children around. I put down a hefty down payment and still have a $500 a month note. They told me that after 6 months I could refinance. That was a lie! By the time I finish paying, I will have paid almost three times as much as the price of my car. They are quick to snatch your vehicle if you miss one payment and they refuse to be flexible with payment help. You would be better off walking or catching the bus than using this company. My only hope is that someone will reveal them for the crooks that they are and sue the pants off of them. After two years, I am so far upside down in my payments that I can’t even trade my vehicle in. Heed the advice of those of us who made the mistake of getting involved with company, and run as fast as you can in the other direction.

Worst lender you could ever finance through. You're better off walking. Their customer service agents are rude. They call you all hours of the day. They refuse to change your payment due date. I bought this vehicle in 2015. Little did I know that the day you buy it is your due date. So I call in figuring I could just request for a different day in the month for the due date. Boy was I wrong. I get a whole speech about better budgeting my finance or borrowing the money. I haven't even made my first payment. Avoid them at all cost. Do yourself a favor.

I purchased a vehicle in June of 2017 and was excited to find out I had been approved for a loan through Credit Acceptance and was able to purchase a warranty with it. A few weeks later my nightmare began. Things were going wrong on the vehicle and when I brought it to the mechanics they told me that the warranty was a sham, because they never get paid for their work. I took it to several more mechanics who all told me the same thing. I called to complain and would either get no response or them just telling me my warranty number again! Thus began my journey of paying for multiple, expensive repairs on an upside down loan. I found out that truthfully my vehicle was only worth $1,500 at best. My loan was for a little over $5,000!
As the issues became worse I kept calling Credit Acceptance and was told by a rep they would work with me on halting a month’s worth of payments due to the repair costs. Then I found out that wasn’t the truth and suddenly I was behind on payments. I then called to make a payment arrangement. The rep asked me for $164 to secure it. I did so over the phone immediately. 2 days later another rep called to tell me that that rep wasn’t authorized to do that and that that was too small of an amount and they wiped out my arrangement! I was then told if I paid another $25 it would be reinstated. So I did. 2 weeks later I found out that wasn’t the case at all! At this point I began to feel scammed and I got different reasons from each person I spoke to, most of which were rude.
As time passed everything in the vehicle was falling apart and I was having a hard time keeping up with just paying for all these expensive repairs but I had to because I needed a vehicle. I’m a single mom to 4 special needs kids, one who is a frequent flyer to the hospital. Over this past summer everything that could go wrong has. Torque converter, faulty seat bench anchors, brakes snapped off while driving, PVC joint, wheel bearing/hub, misfiring cylinders, found a hodgepodge of mismatched wires and spark plugs, major oil leak, coolant leak, power steering leak, break leak, head gasket leak, exhaust leak, fuel leak, no heat, etc.
The value of this van isn’t even worth an oil change and it’s a death trap. I’ve been cut by the rusted broken doors, the sliding doors have opened while driving despite being locked, rain and snow get inside the vehicle and get my kids wet. I decided enough was enough and I needed to get a new car. Of course this one can’t be traded in, even if the loan was paid off. Dealers have told me they can’t believe I was ever sold this vehicle to begin with or that Credit Acceptance backed it with such a high loan.
I’ve been told I’ve gotten approvals for a new loan but the balance on the death trap needs to be paid off first. I’ve called a few times to try and find out if we can work out a pay off balance that isn’t the exact loan amount given the scamming going on here. The reps have been completely rude, demeaning and even tried bullying me and bullying money out of me. Not only will they not even discuss it (apparently pay off amounts are a set price depending on what state you live in), but they also keep changing that price.
When I demanded to speak to a manager I was denied! Then I was told I could only speak to a manager after I made a payment. Out of sheer frustration I made the dang payment and guess what? She tells me that the manager is on the other line and if I want to still talk to them I need to either call back or leave a voicemail. Are you kidding me? I sat on hold for over 15 minutes before I spent another 20 minutes talking to this rude rep. I wasn’t about to call back. I left a message but I’m not holding my breath I will get a callback and according to the rep they won’t help me either. So here I’m stuck getting screwed over. Hope your company feels good about taking advantage of a single mom!

Credit Acceptance hasn't caused me any real issues themselves. Although their warranty company has been a nightmare. I am set up on ACH so my payments are automatically taken out. I have spoken to Credit Acceptance and the warranty company twice about my service issue. The first lady with Credit Acceptance I spoke to didn't seem to care and acted as if I was lying about contacting a lawyer. The second call was a lot more professional. The customer service rep listened and took action sending my claim to the legal department. I purchased my vehicle on 9/17/18. Since then I have had multiple service issues. I also purchased a warranty through Credit Acceptance with Superior Warranty Plan.
As of today I have been 51 days without my vehicle due to my transmission going out on 12/16/18 and now being transported to 3 different Auto shops due to 1 shop declining to start repairs because they are afraid of not getting paid from the warranty company. 51 days of on time payments and full coverage insurance payments being paid for a vehicle I don't even have in my possession.
The warranty company is wanting the auto shops to tear down the transmission, have a claims adjuster come out inspect the transmission and find the key point of default. However, the warranty company is not willing to pay for the teardown and labor of the transmission. I have been advised I can pay for the teardown and I would be reimbursed but it's not a guarantee of a 100% reimbursement. I feel as if the warranty company is more of a hassle than a blessing. This has been a learning experience moving forward. Best of luck to anyone using the Warranty for the powertrain.

I've had to deal with more than one poor credit financier, unfortunately, but true. The one before this was strict, but you knew everything upfront--no shady backdoor dealings--and they worked with you fair and square. I've purchased 2 cars to the finish with them--no problems. Would recommend Superior Auto to anyone in a poor credit situation. Made the mistake of going to a dealership thinking I was making progress to purchase my current car on regular payments. This is when I got set up with these snakes!! Oh my, what a terrible mistake I made just trusting the finance department. First wrong turn: I had to agree to a $1500 warranty or no note. "That's how it is now." I was told. Lies. I should've trusted myself, stopped them there--shame on me.
Then, due to cascade of interesting issues (starting with a problem with the new payment card, then, them saying they tried to call but I'm never getting calls, them saying they sent a notice, but it went to my old address even though I updated my new address) I missed a payment and I don't get informed. I'm on auto-pay, I don't know anything so I just go along. For some reason, one month my check is late in the mail (my company pays once at the end of the month). So, I know everybody is going to be late, I'm annoyed about that, distracted, making calls, thinking about the late fees, because it's going on a week. I get ready to go somewhere and I'll be damned: My car is GONE!! After calling the police, I embarrassingly discover it's been REPOSSESSED for being 1 month and a few days behind!!! Are you KIDDING ME???
I had to pay $350 something in payments and fees (not so much $$ applied to payments part) PLUS the $150 tow fee PLUS $110 to the damn repo people who BROKE MY WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID HOSE AND REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT AS DID CREDIT ACCEPTANCE, to get my car back!!! What a hustle for you Credit Acceptance!!! This process took several days, many phone calls and much inconvenience. Not to mention, Credit Acceptance straight up lied when I asked them what it would cost to get my car back. Let's not forget they damaged my credit over it, too. Oooh wee!!!
All that and for what? Because they really believed they were going to KEEP MY CAR. THAT WAS THEIR ENTIRE PLAN. Just look up how they work. This happened to me about 6 months after purchase. They thought: Not enough time to run up the miles and it was a good purchase price, she's got a secure job, we'll make the money both ways. But no no no, not today, snake pit.
I had the money all along. Could've gave them their payment any time. FORTHRIGHT COMMUNICATION. That's all that was needed. But they lie. They're sneaky. They use shady business practices. They're not upfront. They use the Detroit court systems to build their profit margins and if you think I'm joking, look it up. There's hundreds of other poor/bad credit lenders out here and I don't see them reported on negatively by top magazines nor with 1.5 star ratings by literally thousands of customers. JUST THIS ONE. RUN!

The most heart wrenching part of this whole loan is that we have already paid the entire value of the principal of our truck, we missed JUST ONE payment and on the 10th day they would not accept arrangements and the customer service agents call and threaten us to turn the vehicle off! How does this help a person to get back on track with payments!? Another huge problem that people will have is if you are applying at a dealership they will lie, cheat and approve you by any means needed to get your loan, and the dealership will lie to you and then you find out what you REALLY signed up for after they finalize your loan documents! Absolutely RUDE, INCOMPETENT PEOPLE!!

I needed a car in a short amount of time because my vehicle was destroyed in a hurricane. I went at the urging of a friend to a "local" used car dealer and they got me a loan through Credit Acceptance. My credit was 700+. I paid my payments on time every month for 3 years then one month I thought I paid my payment and it didn't go through, there was no notice that it hadn't gone through. I called 6 most later for a pay off and it was then I was verbally accosted by a service representative. This happened twice in the 4 years it took to pay off my loan. I paid off my loan and this company reported that I didn't pay my payments on time at the end of my loan, which was not the case. Now my credit is 529... NEVER use this company, if you don't have bad credit, you will when you pay the loan on time and pay it off.

My husband in 2016 got a van financed through them. We haven't had too many issues, I make payments. I have missed a couple but made them up and paid partial as we own our own company and were stiffed about $70,000 by a contractor so things have been tight and semi went out of business, still made payments. Guess a couple got returned for insufficient funds that were there but for some reason weren't. I have no idea. But we have never received phone calls, notices in the mail and in Colorado they have to send a "right to cure" before repossession.
Well that didn't happen and I was not aware of the situation or the account somehow being behind until the repo guys showed up today (1/21/2019). They were waiting for my husband to come with the key because the van had a flat tire so he was borrowing a vehicle, came in the house because my cell phone died. Heard them tear out of my driveway van in tow which contains 100% of our company's equipment as well as other personal effects like the 10 ladders strapped to the roof and to top it off they dragged the flat tire across the driveway leaving marks and most likely damaging the vehicle. I was on 2 phones trying to get something worked out while it was being hooked up to the truck (not a flatbed either).
The office lady at the repo office said the 3 repo guys peeled out of my driveway like they did is because I slammed the front door, when you walk in in a bit of a hurry it shuts hard. Everything in and on that vehicle are our source of income. Could have been avoided if they actually called to let me or my husband know something was up with the account or there's missing payments. Heck it would be helpful had the online customer accounts actually provided account information such as payment history. Things like that. It shows a balance of $12,000 on a $14,000 vehicle and we've already paid $12,000 to date.

I have never met a company that was more unprofessional or dishonest as this place is. We have the opposite of poor credit. We have great credit, no credit history. We generally pay for everything with cash and we were told because of this, we were basically considered just as bad of a risk, as someone with bad credit. Go figure.
So, we got rooked into this hell-hole company for that very reason and let me tell you they are nothing but lying, deceitful, crooks. We signed up for their automated payment scheduler. It didn't take out our December payment as promised, they say that you can reschedule your payment date to work with your pay schedule and allow you to change it. We just found out that not only did they not take our automated payment as agreed, they also refused to honor the change in payment date that they agreed to less than a month ago.
They said that any payment date changes made on the automated system are not valid and you are considered late. Which I argued the fact with them. That is their systems for their business and they should honor what they offer. The woman again told me that it is not honored. That we had to pay December and January payment now or risk having our vehicle repo. That they are not responsible for any payment related issues due to their automated system, that they will not notify you that a payment was not processed or that they failed to receive a payment from you. It's your responsibility to verify any missed payments or otherwise in their system. If you don't tell anyone that is a problem, how will they know to fix it? She said that's not our problem, that's yours.
Seriously, I have never heard of any company not trying to assist their customer's to make their business experience as great as it can be. Very deceptive business practice indeed. As soon as, our building revolving credit issue is resolved. We are so refinancing this vehicle with our local bank. Honestly, now I see why folks hate these types of sleazy finance business. Unethical, dishonest and truly disgusting business practice and unscrupulous morales for any business.

If you are writing a bad review about Credit Acceptance that means you were or are in a position where no one else would finance you. I am not here to judge anyone although if you have gotten a loan from this company that means that for whatever reason your credit sucks. You know why. Not for me to point it out. For me I am so grateful for this company. At 51 I am semi-retired and moved to Mexico about a year ago. Shortly after moving there was hit head-on by a wrong way driver right at the boarder. My 2007 Camry Hybrid was totaled. I was ok and the people who left the California plated car fled the scene. My insurance was supposed to be in line but although I had Mexico Liability coverage My insurer failed to put an endorsement on my policy. Found out the car that hit me was reported stolen by its owner 3 days later. Their insurance company denied any claim as well.
My income is from driving Uber and Lyft. So no car no income. In addition I had a balance that was unpaid on the totaled Camry. Now to get financed with a lower than 500 credit score and income from Uber until I found a dealer who was able to get me financed through Credit Acceptance. I had 200 bucks and the dealer took a partial down payment, paid off 800 additional deferred and that was a year ago. The payment is high at 400 a month. Interest is high as well. I am able to drive for Uber and Lyft once again.
Got sick before Christmas and fell behind in two payments. Have another coming due. Think I can get it caught up in a week or two but they did work with me. Everyone who is writing all bad reviews well You're Financed and have a car from this company. Your credit sucks for a reason. Sometimes not your fault even. In December I called to see if I could defer the payment for that month so we could do Christmas for my children due to I was down one income. I was told that they don’t do that. This is the first company that I have known that will not work with you for anything...so I was told about how I can make a payment arrangement. I did so for January 7th. Well January 4th came and my husband's check wasn’t enough to cover the payment arrangement so I called to see if I could extended it just by a few days. Then I was told that I didn’t make the arrangement for the 7th and that it was made for the 4th. And I said no I have records that I sat it for the 7th. And she proceeds to argue with me that it was set for the 4th. Then she told me that this is the second payment arrangement that I have made on my account...when it was not.
Then I asked how is that possible because I am the only person who calls and deals with this account on payments and anything else... She didn’t have any answers. Then I asked, "Ok. When was the last time I made this so called payment arrangement?" Then she told me that it was in October. I asked how in the hell is that possible because that is when I got the vehicle? Again had no answer. So just now I went to look at my bank account and my lone only to find that they have not taken out the payment for the vehicle but they took out the 3.95 fee for technology use. So I have only had this vehicle for 3 months and I am already having problems with them. Most of the complaints from the people here have had their loan or vehicle for a year at least. Not me. I bought a truck in August 2016. I had the payment set up to automatically come out of my account by weekly. For over 18 months not an issue. I became unemployed the first of 2018. I had enough in savings to carry me until the first of July. I called Credit acceptance to let them know my status. I did not find employment until the end of June. I called them again and set up the payment plan as it was before. When I called both times, the people on the other end of the phone were as unprofessional as they could get. I asked to speak to a supervisor, he proceeded to tell me I was 3 payments behind. I asked him how that could be, whereas with all the payments I had made put me 5 payments ahead. His math did not add up.
To make matters worse, the day after a payment was due, the phone calls started. 8-10 calls a day, every day. I told the supervisor that that was against the law in the state I lived in. He laughed and said they were within their rights, even after I told him where to look up the laws. Unfortunately I found myself unemployed again the first of November. I called to let them know what was going on. The woman on the other end stated if I did not make a payment they were sending someone to repo the vehicle. I again informed her of state laws the require them to send out a letter 2 weeks prior with the date and time they planned to take the vehicle. She told me they did not have to any such thing. That they had people located in my state that took care of all that.
So again I told her what the issues were. What the laws are and basically was treated as if I was beneath them. It was bad enough that the price was double what the vehicle was worth. But to dismiss any attempt I made to keep them abreast of my situation. I have heard of loan sharks, but Credit Acceptance Corp make a loan shark look like a goldfish! It's one thing to charge a high percentage rate on those trying to get back on their feet. It's a totally different treat them with disrespect and cause unnecessary stress. As a veteran, I defended our country from terrorism. Only to see it dished out from a company that thinks it's helping. For those who have fallen prey to this company, you have my deepest sympathies! To anyone who believes Credit Acceptance Corp is their only hope. I say keep looking!!! Best of luck!

Clearly the man didn't realize my voicemail was recording and he was whispering to an associate about how he didn't care if it was ten cents or not. He was going to and I quote "** them as far as he can go with it." When I called it in to complain of course no supervisors were available. But the nice women on the phone told me she could see the man had called us six times total that day because they record all calls and she would have her supervisor call me back. Although I haven't heard back of course. I have the voicemail saved and will be reporting it the FTC as soon as the government shut down is over.

I have emailed customer service about this issue, and yet nobody has replied. Their fees are with no doubt extremely high sky. I am barely making a living after making my car payment. If you can avoid getting a loan from Credit Acceptance, please do by all means! When I got my car I agreed to do auto pay on the days that I got paid, so they could get their money on time and to also help my credit. The very first two payments they failed to take out. When I would call to speak to someone about the situation, they would have nasty attitudes and didn't want to speak to me about it. It wasn't until after I tried making the payment myself when they decided to call and say they were going to repo my car.
I tried explaining to them that auto pay was set up and they were the ones not doing their job. They then told me that someone had cut it off, so I asked that being it was their fault could they just move the missing payments to the end and start taking the money out, they told me no. I then told them that I would be getting my lawyer involved. When they talked to my lawyer they told him that the payments were late because I didn't have money in my account (which was a lie). So now my credit score has dropped 78 points because of them. Also, I received a new debit card and called them to switch my information, they told me no, if I wanted to do that tell my lawyer to call them and do it for me.

We financed a vehicle through this company and was set up for auto pay. Everything was going great for the first couple months and then somewhere along the lines they stopped taking out our payments and we unknowingly fell behind on our payments. The repo guys showed up at our doorsteps two days prior to Christmas to repo our vehicle so we called them and the First Lady was very polite however we had to speak to a manager to stop the repo from happening and she was very rude and irrational in every way shape and form.
This was disgusting how unprofessional she handled everything. We had pulled out money from our account before this happened to put in Christmas cards for our families. So we was only 10 dollars shy of a full payment and the manager was very unreasonable and had to beg to let me call my friend who happened to be on vacation to cover the other 10 dollars on his bank card that we was short from our bank card! This was just ridiculous to have to go through all of that especially 2 days before Christmas. It’s not like we totally disregarded our account. The fact of the matter is something went wrong with our autopay and was never notified. It is a big shame that a company allows people like that deal with customers and this will most definitely be the last time I deal with them after this incident.
By the way they stack the interest up so high that it’s next to impossible to ever get ahead of the loan to where you could trade it in so if you plan on dealing with this place just be prepared to stay upside down during the whole entire loan and deal with horrible managers if they screw something up and Blame you for it. I would most definitely consider all other options before you even begin to consider this organization. You will be very disappointed on how you are treated as a customer!!!!

We've been dealing with them for a car loan and never really had an issue until recently. We fell behind on our payments 2 months. Mind you the last time it happened they blew up my phone, sent letters and emails for their payment. I spoke to their ** customer service and they said we were fine to make the payment by the end of the month, ok cool. Well someone didn't do their job and put this information and they repoed our car so I called them and was told I never called and they can't pull the recorded audio. She also told me it's a courtesy to call me and send the letters out and also told me that I couldn't have auto pay set up when I'm behind but the managed to take November's payment through auto pay. So I asked to speak to someone above them then she tried to tell me she could pull the audio. I said no it's ok I'll take it up with the higher up. She lied and said the higher up has the same number as the repossession line. Ok liar.
Today I called the repo line and they said my total was 874. I asked how they got that number when I pay 290 a month and the late fee is only 14 dollars a month the total should only be 636 which is what I was told was owed on the paper from the tow guy who took the car. She (with her nasty attitude) told me they couldn't tell me anything until I gave them money so I proceeded to get an attitude back and said, "I'm not handing over almost a grand I don't have until you can tell me why it's so much higher than I was told previously." She said, "I cant til you pay." What company cant tell you why you owe so much on your account?
I can call rge or any other company and they could tell me what every fee is for. They are not professional at all, their call service needs retraining on how to do their job and how to be respectful to customers especially if they aren't giving you attitude. They higher ups really need to start giving repercussions to these employees cause by the way they act and talk to their customers I'll assume they don't cause this one's not the first one to give me attitude and be rude when I wasn't being rude to her. They have all your account information but can never answer questions about fees or why is it so high. I will never use them again, they are lucky we've worked hard on fixing his credit or I'd say ** off and let them keep it I'd definitely stay away from them if possible.

I had it set up to take the payments twice a month every other Friday. I realized I was screwed with these guys so I paid the fee and what they claimed I owed.
I then verified that I had the payment plan set up properly. I was assured everything would be fine, that I was even $60.00 ahead. Then just this past November (2018) they only took ONE payment! AGAIN! And I have a missed payment fee and am now behind $250.00 according to them. I was notified by a customer that she had recently incurred hail damage on her 2014 Chevrolet Impala. My wife and I own a small Paintless Dent Repair business and have been in business since 2010. She informed me that she had Dairyland for coverage but that her vehicle was financed through Credit Acceptance and Dairyland had issued a check for repairs directly to them. So we made the arrangements to get her vehicle in for repair. First off after contacting Credit Acceptance to find out what the original check from Dairyland totaled to see if it was anywhere in the ballpark of what my estimate would be. They wouldn’t share that information and told me that they would need an estimate from me for the damage. I thought this was rather bizarre because they had already received a check from Dairyland and all I had to do was consider what they had received and write a supplement if I felt it was not enough.
So anyway I wrote the estimate for the total damage including the labor for the hail repair, the replacement parts and labor to remove and install them. The estimate was accepted by Credit Acceptance and I began the work, ordered the parts and paid for them out of my pocket. The repairs took me five working days and as I finished my wife contacted Credit Acceptance and she was told the check would be sent out on the 7th. of November so I delivered the repaired vehicle on the 10th. By the 14th. I still had not received payment for the services I had provided so I called them and was told the check wasn’t sent out until the 9th. So I gave it another four or five days, called them back and was told the check wasn’t sent out until the 13th of November. This was the third time I had been given three different dates to which the check was supposedly sent.
Now keep in mind that this is a very small business that rendered services in a very timely manner to the customer. She was thrilled with the quality of work and expedited service. The total bill is $6,900.00 minus the $567.00 for parts and the $162.00 in labor that came right out of my own pocket. Today is the 24th of November and I still have not received a check for my services. You also should know that I had to travel 120 miles, rent and stay in a motel for 5 nights and live. We live in a very rural area of Arizona and the lady to which I performed the repairs for only had that vehicle and none other, lived 60 miles out of town in the desert with two little kids so when I was finished I released the vehicle to her.
What I’m trying to say is that I’ve been nothing but accommodating and patient in this situation and all I’ve received for that so far have been rude, snide, and very non understanding representatives from Credit Acceptance somewhere back in Michigan. They won’t even tell me exactly what city they are located in. So to make a long story short, if you're into Auto body or Paintless Dent Repair and a customer brings you a vehicle that has been financed through Credit Acceptance do not work for them! They will lie to you, treat you rudely and are very unprofessional. I will never do any work for them in the future and if I’m not paid soon and by that I mean in the next day or two they will be hearing from my attorney.

I have never been late. This month for some reason the automated system did not put down when I was going to make my payment. I received a call on the 6th of this month with a very rude customer service representative demanding why I did not make my payment the day before. I understand it is a concern for a company to wonder where their money is. But this customer service woman talk to me like I was a piece of trash.
She wanted to know exactly why I couldn't make my payment and exactly what bills I had to pay instead. She told me that I needed to pay $50 now and I told her I didn't have the money. She then decided to tell me that I needed to figure out who to get the money from because they need paid now. Which I told her I'm not paying until the 20th. I have never had a problem paying on the 20th but just because they're automatic system didn't register that I called I now have to pay the money up front right now? Something seems a little off. Was avoided like I had the plague so I was told by a CA rep to let it sit for 1 1/2 mo 'til I defaulted and they would come get it so I did and they did. The truck btw went from being 3,000 to 9,000 to 12,000. In the time I had it and it was just a little 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport that had been prev. wrecked. Before I got it worth maybe 1,900 at the most.
Anyway they took and auctioned it. Got 4,000 at a auction plus the 5,600 or so for the year now they took me to court and I have paid another 4,000 and when I asked the attorney when I would be done paying on it he sent me a letter stating him and his client could not tell me that due to the 20 percent interest I have to pay plus all court fees and a new suit for the attorney when he traveled down here to go to court. I have never even received one receipt from them. It goes straight out of my paycheck so what after around 15,000. If I am done by then I will have nothing to show for it but a wrecked credit score and the illness I feel to even think of life lesson.
Mind you I am single and only make min wage. And to boot they took my 2002 Dodge Stratus that was in great shape. Perfect shape. Everyone should read the following link. This company has made 40 years of business through deception and borderline illegal activities. They prey on people with less than perfect credit knowing full well that they would ultimately repo the car. I purchased a 2013 Chevy Impala in 2014 from a local dealership - my credit was mid-range not bad but not perfect. This dealership did not submit my application to any other lender other than CAC (I did not know this initially) and stated that this would be the only one available. OK. I needed a dependable car and though the interest rate was considerably higher than I would have liked it was within my budget just at the higher end.
I took delivery, made my (rounded up) payments on time every month for over 3 years. My company ended up having massive layoffs and then closing so money became tight. I contacted CAC to see if I could get a deferral for 2 weeks and they were rude and spoke to me as if I was some sort of deadbeat who always paid late and had to be tracked down. I was steamed. I asked how much the payoff would be thinking that I could go to my credit union and refinance with them and was SHOCKED to find out that my payoff was the same as the total purchase price from when I purchased 3 years earlier.
I questioned it and was spoken to as if I was a 5 year old that all interest is paid upfront for the first half of the loan term, nothing comes off principal before than EVER even if you pay extra. Wow. I contacted my Credit Union, who told me that the amount owed far exceeded the value of the car and they could not refinance the amount. I struggled for several more months, watching my credit rating drop as it was 1-4 days late then, ultimately, after I had started a new job and had a wait for my first paycheck I went 8 days late. They came to the house in the middle of the night and took the car. They will NOT work with a customer and appear to actively look for ways to make the consumer fail. I am surprised the banking commission has not gone after these people.

Back in September of 2017 I made the horrible mistake of deciding to get a new vehicle from Fox Ford of Cadillac. The dealer LUCKILY wasn't the issue. After going through 3 different vehicles which I was "Approved" for not pre-approved the salesmen then pulls out the absolute last option... a blue 2007 Ford Focus plagued with 1500 dollars worth of issues including suspension/engine issues to try and keep my job at Pizza Hut as a driver.
This car was the absolute last option they could give me as CAC would NOT approve me for anything (I had a 500+ credit score at the time) even after I drove the car off the lot. The issues became more and more pronounced over time, the check engine light came on within 3 days of purchasing the car, the code I got from the internal computer had declared the Passenger side airbag was in-operational and would probably not go off in an accident, eliminating Uber/Lyft as my side job due to that and the repairs, CAC knew what my income was and still put me into the most unsafe vehicle on that lot.
The car had a severe breakdown 2 weeks (10/8-10/10/17) later after driving to Burlington, Iowa for an airsoft game, getting robbed of my airsoft gear there as well only to have the sad drive home ruined at 4 AM by the Idler Pulley and Serpentine belt disintegrate (shown in video) on me doing 75mph on the highway Near Benton Harbor, MI.
After this I was absolutely terrified to get behind the wheel of the car due to the repairs needed (the belt/.pulley was NOT ON THE ESTIMATE) which made me nervous that the dealer didn't inspect the car properly. Credit Acceptance Corp refused to acknowledge my concerns of the vehicle's safety even after asking me to send a repair estimate to their office, which I did and they promptly shut me down. Due to the car's state of repair being unfixable with my finances I had to quit my job at Pizza Hut. I surrendered the Vehicle in December of 2017 and they refused to come get it. I had a repo man come over to help me get into the car (explained in video) and his boss contacted CAC and they refused to come get the vehicle even though my account was delinquent.
As it sits in the yard currently it needs $1500+ in repairs mechanically. Credit Acceptance Corp filed a Civil suit against me back in June/July and had a pre-trial in August leading to the non-jury trial coming up in the first week of December (Sued for christmas, what a time to be alive). I tried filing a counter against them under the grounds of a storage bill written up by my father in the amount of $6020 for the storage of the 2007 focus which CAC denies they should pay even though they ABANDONED THE CAR. Michigan Abandoned Vehicle Laws state that after 90 days of being on the property it was abandoned. They show 0 interest in retrieving this to make even the smallest amount of money back in their greedy pockets.
Credit Acceptance Corp has single-handedly ruined my life and my finances. These people are the scum of the earth and I'd rather do business with the devil himself than go through this nightmare again. At the time of writing this review the vehicle is still sitting in my yard and CAC's attorneys sent more court papers yesterday in the mail seeking near $5000 for the car THOUGH they made 0 attempts to come get it or even show any interest in wanting it. They will bully you just to get every penny out of your pocket. Young and old people beware. Avoid CAC like the plague or you may end up like me. Broke, jobless and stuck in the middle of nowhere with a useless car rotting away in the yard.

I'm not happy at all with Credit Acceptance. My boyfriend John had gotten a truck from Jenroc in Dover, Ohio last year and Credit Acceptance was the loan provider. Everything was fine till John filed bankrupt, because his wages were being garnished because of a truck he couldn’t finish paying for 15 years ago from a GMC dealer. Well, John wanted to keep the truck so he was told to sign a reaffirmation agreement so he did. Well, then Credit Acceptance had raised the amount he owed to $4000.00 more. John went back to the attorney's office.
The secretary had told him what Credit Acceptance did was illegal and the attorney could submit that to the court before the deadline. So John had time to purchase a vehicle before it was submitted to the court. After John's bankruptcy was closed, Credit Acceptance put that he owed $5,934.58 on his credit report and put closed on it. John recently got a letter from a debt collector that Credit Acceptance had sent the debt to them. So now John pays cash for vehicles since after the bankruptcy.

So when I called for 2 questions 1: Why my payment haven't posted and I made it on 10/5. 2: Can I have a due date change. So she was very nice initially I must say that. My car payment is due on 10/8 and I made it 10/5 and I said it is still showing I owe for 10/8. So she explained my payment hasn't posted online yet. She said no it hasn't, I asked why because I don't want to be charged for interest because y'all haven't posted my payment.
So instead of her saying, "Ma'am you don't have to worry it is posted" or whatever, she said, "Ma'am this is an interest loan you are getting charged daily." So I said, "Ma'am I do auto loan collections and I know that I was meaning extra interest you charge because my payment haven't posted." So I asked about my due date change and she submitted that. But I never got my answer about my payment not showing posted. I think her name was Talisha something like that. But all in all I hope this company is not in business of ripping people off. But literally every single creditor I have--our rental company, utility companies, Sprint, 2 personal loans through two different banks, my school loan and several credit card companies all made arrangements with us so we could get caught up quickly and get our accounts back on track. The only company who would not do anything to help us was Credit Acceptance.
Not only would they not make any type of arrangement with us or defer a payment (I was only asking for a 2 week extension), they also marked my credit as being late. We are trying to buy a house. I'm extremely upset. Things happen in life and yes it was our fault. But no one else mentioned above marked my credit as being paid late. I did not have an attitude as someone else in the comments mentioned would make this company not work with you. In fact I called very humble and even cried when they refused to help us at all. I even called back and spoke with several other representatives who all gave me the same answer "We are a second chance company and we don't make arrangements."
Hopefully they didn't ruin my chance to get a home loan. As soon as we close on our house I will be refinancing my loan with another company. Thankfully I have taken this time to build my credit since 2015 not on with them but other companies as well. Seems unlikely that 1 late payment will hurt my credit too much. But it does look bad. It also let me know this company doesn't care about their customers at all. I will never do business with them again.

How when I pay 19 dollars over every month. Where that money going idk. They don’t have grace periods. This company sucks and they get no stars.

It's crazy to me reading some of these reviews. I have never had any of these issues. For starters, yes the interest rate is crazy high. That is understandable considering if you're using CAP then your credit is probably terrible. They are a "subprime" credit lender. You can't have a terrible credit score and expect to have an interest rate that is low. It doesn't work like that.
Secondly, I missed a payment in December due to me spending 1000 dollars on a repair for my transmission. That's not their problem, they don't sell the car, they just finance it. I let them know the situation and they immediately were helpful and let me make up the amount. Yes, it was reported to my credit. I broke the deal we had. That's how financing works. I spoke with them over the next few months and made sure payments were made to make up the amount. They were helpful and when I was caught up it was all in good standing again on my credit almost immediately.
Their customer service has always been super helpful in my opinion. I've always been polite and respectful and that's always what I've gotten in return. You can't be mad at someone for doing their job. Lastly, YOU CANNOT BE MAD AT THEM FOR REPOSSESSING YOUR VEHICLE IF YOU DON'T PAY YOUR NOTE. I'm sorry but I don't buy the "I missed one note and they took my car". Yeah, I missed a note and they never once repossessed my vehicle. It's about communication. If you consistently set up a payment schedule to pay the amount YOU AGREED TO they will work with you. You should be thankful they even financed your car if you have bad credit. No other bank will even consider you. They are a stepping stone to rebuilding your credit so you can achieve lower interest rates in the future.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!! When I first got the car I was under the impression my payment would be $349.00 so a few months go by and they called and asked how would I be paying $2.85 that I was behind. So, I asked what $2.85. She informed me my note was $349.95 and that I need to pay the extra .95 cents for those 3 months!!! YESSS you read that right not even $3. So I added the $2.85 to my next payment. Now after almost 2 years of having a car financed through them (NEVER LATE excluding .95 cents) I called to see could I get an extension. My payments are due on the 6th of each month and I asked could I make the payment on the 25th and that I would pay the next payment as well (double up to keep from paying the service charge).
Her response "We don't extend payments that far!!" Really??? I wanted to explain my situation but I knew that witch would not understand! I'm a single mom of three children and being that school just start having to buy clothes, shoes, and supplies alone took a toll on my finances!! I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around. This company and the corrupt ones that work there won't have any luck!! I know they have to do their jobs but they could be more understanding especially to loyal customers! As long as I live I will never do business with them again and hopefully I can refinance because I'm fed up!

I bought a truck in 2016 and when I got it, yes my credit wasn't great but this company gave me a loan. I don't even think I paid attention to the interest rate because I figured it was going to be high, but the funny part is I have another car through the Credit Union and my interest rate with them is much higher than with my truck... go figure. Anyway to make a long story short, I missed a payment 3 months ago, how I missed it I have no idea until I looked at my credit report and sure enough I missed it, on time payer since day one. I'm single mom so how in the world am I going to double up, not happening, so I came to read the reviews on if they would work with you and GEEZZZUS, I was scared to call after reading all of these horror stories, BUT I called.
I don't know if we are talking about the same Credit Acceptance or not, but the lady I talked to HELPED me and she was nice and I told her I got on here to read the reviews and just about scared me into just taking the car back to the lot... but I didn't. She got me straight and on my merry way. When your credit is bad and you get a loan like this be thankful and if you miss a payment or something happens CALL them but when you call remember they are human too and if you call with an attitude you're probably not going to get the best service as I was humble because of all of ya'll lol. I never received any paperwork showing $18,000 because I would have never paid that for a used car only worth $5,000. Please trust me go through a different bank because you will regret it if you don't!!! My payments are due on the 16th of each month and I have been charged late fees despite the fact that the payment was made on that day. This is the ONLY company that does that and the customer service there is the worst. I looked at my payment history and was amazed at how many late fees I have with this lender. In reading all of these negative reviews about Credit Acceptance I felt I needed to leave one since my experience was extremely positive. I'll give some tips and specifics on my situation since I noticed some common problems in these reviews that possibly led to their negative experiences. I had just come out of bankruptcy and needed a "new" car. My old car was starting to need work and was behind in payments. So getting a new car and rolling the old balance into the new loan seemed like the most efficient way to get a fresh start. The dealership set up my loan with Credit Acceptance with automatic payments coming out of my bank account. I was able to set the approximate date for when the payments would come out based on my budget. I will say that this is absolutely the best way to do it. This way you're never late.
The interest was high which is understandable given the situation. I paid my loan on time every month for a little over 3 years and then, when my credit and finances had improved, I paid it off. The entire time Credit Acceptance was extremely helpful, efficient and accurate during my dealings with them. I never had any problems with them messing up my account information or anything. This is likely because I never changed my payment agreement. I just made sure the money was there every month on time for when the debit came. It's really just a matter of being responsible and disciplined with your money and making sure to set your major expenses as priority #1 to make sure things get paid on time.
I paid off the car and they sent me a letter letting me know the balance was paid in full. They offered to make me a new loan the next time I need a car. Overall, my experience was extremely positive and I'm grateful to have a company that will finance a person right out of bankruptcy to help them get back on track. The lessons to take away that will make dealing with Credit Acceptance (or any creditor), from my perspective having gone through tough financial times and recovered, are as follows:
1. Get your budget together on a list with all your major expenses - rent/mortgage, car, insurance, food, clothing, utilities, credit cards, etc. Include the monthly due dates for each item on the list so you know when things need to be paid. You can also include fun things like the movies on the budget but DO NOT budget all of the money. Always have a cushion for an emergency or something special (birthdays, a trip, etc.). You should also include a percentage, no matter how small, for savings. Even $10 a week can add up quickly.
2. STICK TO YOUR BUDGET. Don't run to the store as soon as you get your paycheck. When you run to the store, you're not paying YOU, you're paying THEM (the store). KEEP YOUR MONEY. Don't make YOUR money, someone else's money. You can budget for the movies, or the club, or whatever also. But stick to your budget. If your so-called "friends" don't understand why you can't party this week. Tell them you're getting your finances under control. If they won't understand (I said "won't", not "don't"), when they're not really your friends. Get some new ones. Preferably friends who are in a financial condition that you aspire to. It WILL rub off on you. :-)
3. Set your payments to arrive a few days early (ideally a week early). This way if anything goes wrong, you have time to fix it. You can usually work with the dealer to set up your payment to start on the day of the month that is best for your budget. Using online banking to schedule payments in advance has been a godsend. It has helped me to improve my credit score while also keeping control of when the money goes out in my hands.
4. Log in to each of your payment accounts at least once a month to check balances, transactions, due dates, messages, etc. This will put you in control of the account and give you notice if anything is wrong before it becomes a problem. If you haven't set up bill pay for the accounts via your bank, then you can pay (and schedule payments for the month) through each account's system. You can get your entire month's payments done in a single hour or so one time per month. Then have nothing to worry about with regards to when to pay what every week.
5. STICK TO YOUR BUDGET AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE - If you forget, see point 2. above. Keep notes on your sheet about when payments are coming out. I check my bank and payment schedule with each paycheck to make sure all the money is where it needs to be on time. Note: Having more than one bank account can also help. One for bills and the other for spending & savings. Or better, one for bills & savings and the other for spending. This way you won't spend your bill money. Just don't carry the bill money card with you. :-)
6. If you run out of money or things are too tight, you have to do 2 things: A. Cut back your expenses to below your take-home pay; AND (not "OR"); B. Find ways to make more money consistently. This is possible. Don't let anyone tell you different. If someone is, see point 2 above re: "friends". Doing 1 - 6 above is how I was able to get my credit back on track and pay off my car 14 months early. Now I have a low interest loan on a newer, better car. I hope this helps anyone reading and also sheds some light on how to get a positive experience working with Credit Acceptance.

And I mentioned also on my credit score that I still owed $27.00 on the vehicle. I was told they would fix that on my credit score. That was over 2 weeks ago and to date has not been corrected and I have not received my paid in full or settlement paper in the mail and also the woman I spoke to on the phone was very rude and disrespectful to me. Back in February 2018 we paid off the loan. Payoff was around $7000.00 on a $18,800 loan. Well long story short we did this because they have repoed our Honda Accord Crosstour a total of 3 times. Once over 3 days late, once over 10 days late. We always made payment arrangements but they would continue to call and we would tell them that we have made this payment arrangement with another rep. The rep would always say, "Oh now I see it." So once it was paid off. We never got the title so My wife called last Wednesday and asked about the title. The car was in her name and my mother in law's name who had passed away in November of 2016. So they didn't tell her that we owed them any money.
Monday morning at 3 am I hear the alarm going off on the car and see the repo company had it lifted and had broke in so the alarm went off. The tow truck driver even said it showed a 0$ amount for the repo so we had to wait till 7 am and let them take the car. We called at 7 am and the said that we owed for a retitle fee, since her mother was no longer living she had to come off which is incorrect. It doesn't matter who is on the title. They're supposed to send the title and we fix that, and the repo $665.19 was the total. Well we have till 8/15/2018 to pay them this amount or they will sell our car that is PAID FOR!!!
Now if you have ever dealt with this company if you owe them 1$ they will call you non stop. So what they have done is against the law and I plan on suing this company for theft, lost wages, pain and suffering. And many other things... BOTTOM LINE DO NOT FINANCE THROUGH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY IN THE WORLD AND THEY NEED TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS. I can't believe that our government allows this. I wish I would have researched this company. If you are like I was, most likely you will not do research extensive enough to take advice from pre-existing customers or take someone with you to the dealership who knows their stuff. This has been the worst relationship with a company I have ever had. First, Credit Acceptance preys on the ignorant individuals. They do not have the best interest for their customer. Before you make your decision on receiving a loan you should accurately map out every last payment to complete your loan payments. The reason being, they will allow you to take an unrealistic deal, and knowingly allow you to fail based off of the information concerning your ability to pay. They allow the dealer to be misleading.
As a dummy customer I honestly regret and hope that proper authority stop loan companies from making deals with ignorant individuals as myself. It is a shame that Credit Acceptance is not decent enough to check itself on this. I have a +22% rate and was told that I could pay towards a principal balance. However, that was not the case and now I have to pay the entire loan off or a payoff amount that is ridiculously high for my salary. Everything is ok though. Hopefully someone sees this who didn’t have much guidance like me or finds any advice in it.

So I have been leasing my car through this company for 3 years almost. I've never had a problem. They were a little difficult at the beginning figuring out payments as to One agent was telling me a certain due date and another a different one. We've never been late. Until this month. And they repossessed our car in the middle of the night! Not only did they repossess it... They didn't even give us the ability to know and get our items out, and they didn't report it! In addition our car was dragged to the end of the street instead of lifted onto the truck... With our e-brake on so God knows what damage is done. So we had to file a stolen police report.
I called to pay the balance and got it paid and caught up to speed and the agent told me that they weren't going to charge us towing or any other charges because they illegally repossessed it without even reporting it. We had to have the police involved and everything. Such a nightmare. Not only that but I call to get the car released and now they're tacking on an additional $300 to our freaking loan! So we're having to pay an extra $70 a month when our car is almost paid off! Judging by everybody else's reviews we're not the only ones and this is apparently a thing with them when you get close to the end of your loan and close to ownership... So be aware. It's just a nightmare.
I wouldn't recommend this company ever! The representatives are absolutely horrendous to talk to! They used to be nice. I don't know what happened in there but now they're horrible absolutely no compassion and cut you off when you're trying to even make a payment. Um hello I'm paying you a ridiculous chunk of money a little respect would be nice. If we didn't almost have this car paid off I would be going an entirely different route but I'm just ready to pay it off and be done with them! Absolute nightmare even if you absolutely need a vehicle I would never recommend this company! They're sharks! Of the worst kind I'm literally appalled at the entire situation. I understand we were late and that's part of the small print... But the first time in 3 years and this kind of treatment? All because they could sell it... Absolutely appalling! A prime example of how crappy people have became.

When I called in to get a pay off quote I told them I had never been late on a payment. They told me, "Yes you have last year for 4 payments." I said, "I have bank statements showing I have never been late. I have always been 14 days ahead. They told me, "Send us a copy." So I did and they was like, "I don't know why it's saying you was late." Anyway their sup fixed that.
When I paid the truck off I had to pay in 2 payments over the phone. 1st time they gave me someone else’s payoff because I only owed 2,330.94 and when it asked for account info I put it in and said bal was like 5,623 and some change so I hung up called them back. They gave me the right info then. Well I went on ahead and paid them off then they tell me they cannot even email me a 0 bal on the account. After 3 supervisors said they could then they tell me they will email it to me. Never did so I called back. They said we have to use fax not email...
But this is where it gets even better. They say they can’t find my account to send me a 0 bal to fax. They said my birthday did not match and I was verified through the auto system before I talked to someone... New car buyers please stay away from these people. My truck was only valued at 2100. I ended up paying them 300 a month even though my payments was 254 and they charged me 10,000 dollars them and the dealership I went through.

So it was either I stop working and have no money or work make payments and still have some money. I had been paying for my car faithfully for close to a year. As it was getting close to my due date I had to quit my second job. I guess I can't really blame them but still it sucked when they repossessed my car a month before my due date.
I shouldn't have done business with them. I wish the grace period was a lot better. They make a lot of money so why will it hurt to stretch the pay date almost 1 month and half later. If you don't get your money by the second month then take the car. They got close to $400.00 out of me a month. What a waste and I still have to pay them. I actually had the money in my purse and was going to Western Union after work to make the payment. When they came to get my car, I called my husband and he came to my job, the tow man said he would have to follow him to know where they were taking my car. In the meantime, my husband paid TWO payments to get me ahead and the fees to get my car out of hock.
When I called the customer service, they were their usual rude selves and then stated they appreciate me being quick about dealing with the late payment. I traded the car in the following month and GMAC paid them off ($335). They sent me a congratulatory letter and offered to refinance me another car, I said, "NO THANKS!" Well two years later I fell on hard times and had to get another vehicle with them. What happened? On 3/23/2017 I physically signed (ink signature) to purchase a used 2008 Jetta. Within a week the 08 Jetta broke down on the highway. I immediately notified (seller) Pleasant Valley Motors, Raleigh, NC (PVM) and told me to tow it to my home and PVM will tow the vehicle with their mechanic & fix the problem. While vehicle sat for a week, I had a mobile co. conduct a diagnostic. Results: rear brakes on driver-side were metal to metal and needed to be replaced, also clutch was not functioning, slave cylinder needed to be replaced, also nut that holds shifter mechanism down was broken and someone tried to weld it back and would need transmission to repair it.
On 3/31/2017 the 08 Jetta was finally picked up by Pleasant Valley Motors. In the interim, I had to rent vehicles to go to work etc. PVM, offered a vehicle in which they came unannounced to took the loaner due to them closing down abruptly. On May 12, 2017, with my 08 Jetta in their possession stated they were closing and I will need to pay their unknown mechanic the repairs. I requested for PVM to furnish a Mechanical Vehicle Report, location and status on the vehicle. I received nothing but back and forth confirmation from unknown reps upon PVM closing.
Please note: I received harassing phone calls from "Al" a sales agent with PVM that was never licensed to sell in North Carolina. Since May 12, 2017, PVM and their mechanic was never seen and my vehicle I never had in my possession to date. I informed Credit Acceptance about this entire ordeal and Credit Acceptance the lender stated they conducted an investigation on-site after PVM closed and they did not confirm nor provided me details results of their investigation such as date, time, agent who investigated this Auto Fraud etc.
In return, to date have accumulated bad credit reporting from Credit Acceptance, no vehicle in possession, no information from PVM owner about the location of my vehicle, the NC attorney general office did not even receive a response from PVM owner referencing my complaint, Credit Acceptance never to date confiscated/repo the vehicle nor did they conduct any investigation referencing my complaint. I am currently receiving harassing calls from unknown numbers.
I never authorized an electronic contract. The dealership closed immediately confiscated my vehicle that C.A.C. will not address. To date I do not have a vehicle and being force to pay a debt that I never authorized. The dealership Pleasant Valley Motors in Raleigh, NC disappeared. The CFPB will take steps to remove my personal information from this description but someone may still be able to identify me. Learn how it works. I consent to publishing this description after the CFPB has taken these steps.
What would be a fair resolution to this issue? I want Credit Acceptance to remove all delinquent credit reporting with debt validation. I want Credit Acceptance to forward me an investigation report of the agent that they stated conducted an onsite visit to the dealership that closed a few days after taking my vehicle and never returning it to date. I want Credit Acceptance to confirm recovery of the vehicle like normal Auto Finance Companies practice. I strongly request that Credit Acceptance in "Good Faith" refund me my initial cash deposit and only payment I made.

I had a accident in my car Feb 20, 2018 and got it towed to a shop the next day, since I had no insurance I had to pay for the repairs out of pocket. My mechanic has had it for three months and won't give it back after paying him $3,000. I called Credit Acceptance to see if I could get the location on the car since there was a location device on it, they told me I couldn't get the location of the car until I had a police report. I couldn't report it stolen because it wasn't taken from my possession so it was considered civil.
Through those three months I never missed a car note, so when I finally became a week late I called and explained it again and they asked was there any who could pay it, or what day can I pay it and if I had still had a job. They never cared about the fact that I paid my car note for 3 months even without having it. The supervisor was no help and neither was the complaint department. They told me I could do something like an abandonment so they could repossess it and I could pay to get it back. The next week I called to put ABAN (abandonment) on it. They said I couldn't do it... the supervisor said, "Well I hate this happened but just make sure you pay the car note..." Most uncaring, unprofessional, rude and annoying company ever.

Don’t get a loan with Credit Acceptance. They filed court papers for a vehicle they repossessed and sold it for 900 and want 9000 from me. I was a co-signer and informed them where the owner was. The owner contacted them to set up payments after they filed yet. They still had a judgment against me. I don’t owe this debt and I would like for them to remove my name from this debt. I will be taking this back to court because I have informed these people I don’t owe this debt and they can’t take someone to court for triple the amount they sold that vehicle for.

I missed a payment back in August, then was 2 days late on September's payment. The payment was made the morning of the 2nd day. They then proceeded to repossess my car that day. So I paid to get the car out and made a payment arrangement. I was told that I can't make that months payment because it was already 2 days past due. They said they would roll it to the end of my loan. A couple weeks later, I'm getting repo calls again. When I called to see what's up, they said I must have misunderstood. I made another arrangement. A couple weeks later, same thing.
I finally made another arrangement and have been paying faithfully some November. This month's, I was a couple days late. Now they're saying that I am a little over a month behind and now, I'm in another payment arrangement. I get a different story every time I talk to these people. I feel like I'm never going to pay this thing off. They are crooks. If anyone knows of a class' action suit, please contact me.

I went out to my car during my lunch break, today. It was approximately 4:00 PM. I tried to start my car to go pick up a package at the office. I turned the key 4 times, it didn't ignite or begin to turn over. I called the warranty company. They said to have a tow truck bring the car in... I couldn't do that, because I can't afford it. They told me that they could cover the tow up to 50 dollars. I don't have any money to cover any of the overage, and I know that this issue is not my fault. As a matter of fact I'm positive, so I told the person I was talking to that I was going to bring the car back.
I called the car company, after 5 days, they told me that the car was sold as is. Then, they told me that the warranty doesn't start for a month. The car salesperson Tom, says, “Hold on, let me send you to my manager.” The manager gets on the line. He starts giving me the same story. He can't do anything because he doesn't have a tow truck or insurance that covers that kind of issue unless I can bring it. I couldn't bring it in, because I was working. Finally I told him that I would be there to see him in the morning, and hung up on him. I contacted my Uncle to ask him to come with to City Auto to witness their schematic lie. My uncle said he could come but he didn't want to come during traffic.
At about 9:15 pm I went outside and the car started. Now, my fear is that it's going to work for a little while longer and start showing me problems. Thus far, I've driven the car only to a few places. There are very few miles on the vehicle from the time of purchase. I've noticed that when I turn the lights on, the dash lights and the radio dim extremely low. The dealership said there is a switch that I can toggle to turn the displays back up. Also, I've been driving and have pressed the window down, and, I tried to bring it back up and it was stuck. I figured it was probably the window control button. So, I pressed that and tried to press the widow pack up. It didn't work. So, I drove for about 5 minutes with the window all the way down. After five minutes it worked again. A couple of minutes later I tried pressing the window down, again. Then, I pressed it back up, and, for a moment, it got stuck on its way up. I rolled it back up and left it that way.
Also, I notice there is a wire hanging from the bottom of the dash. It's a switch of some kind. I believe it's a 4X4 switch. At any rate, whatever it is, it should be hanging there. Monday 10/23/2017 Went to an apartment in Coon Rapids. Played the stereo and had the lights on all the way there. When I got there I'd parked to close to another vehicle and I turned off the key, tried to get out of the car and couldn't. At that point I got in the car and tried to restarted the vehicle, I was unable to. Panicky, I performed the motions requested by the store manager. Put the gear in Neutral and the car started. 10/28/2017 Called City Auto about the fact that I possibly left my warranty information at the shop when I went back to check the electrical system of the vehicle. Rosely answered the phone and said they provided me with a sheet of paper that had 11 ways of making payments. It was with a down payment receipt?
I went to check the envelopes they gave me which are in my car. There was no sheet of paper listing anything in regard to making payments. Since, I've found the color of the bumper was different than the whole car, making this car one that was in an accident. The CD player doesn't work, I can't stick a disk in. The speakers were completely blown all the way around the vehicle. There were stains on all of the seats. The coolant gauge is closer to the 1/2 mark than 1/4. They don't honor some of the things on their warranty. They're lying about our ability to set up to 3 payments back, Credit Acceptance doesn't honor that lie.
My electrical system is bad. I have had to bring the car into the shop 5 times since my November Approval, plus all maintenance has been applied. The car has had 80 highway miles and the warranty runs out with whatever comes first. Time or mileage. On top of all of this, with my complaints, I've been offered no compensation. And, I have lost my job, in the process.

In April 2018 she had an accident in the car and the car was a total loss. We have full coverage and Gap insurance. My insurance company paid most of the car off except 729.00. I call Credit Acceptance Corp and ask what happened to the $1,765.00 prorate that $-441.25 and we should be reimbursed the $1,323.75.
The customer service rep for Credit Acceptance tells me they canceled it and put the rest to pay off the car and the Gap only covered 300.00... I went through all the drama paid the 300.00 repo fee, the one month behind payment, and still they tell you, "We cant tell you where your car is and the place that has your car has closed. Call us back tomorrow." Their hours of operation is 9-5. Well you call back tomorrow, go through the routine drill including being put on hold, they return and tell you, they are not open until 10:00, call back. Meanwhile they wont give you a number or address to where they have repossessed and took your car for fear that you may go get your car. How crazy is that??? Back in December 2017, I fell short of the payment and the vehicle was repossessed. Well February 2018, I encounter the exact same thing and was unclear as to why. I NEVER received paperwork or anything saying that I was behind on the account. The bank contacted Western Union and payments were found. I sent that proof along with all of the other proof to the corporate headquarters and have contacted them.
Now they have cashed 2 more checks and are saying that they have not received those payments. I was told over two weeks ago that I would be contacted within 3 days. This did not happen. If you use them carefully and pay on time and pay the rest of your bills you can refinance in a year with another bank. Be picky on the car you choose, do research and get the vehicle checked out. If you know or even think the payment will be tough to handle dont use them. You will only hurt yourself. Just because they approve you for that fancy sports car doesnt mean you can afford it. Pay your bill on time every time youll have zero issues, make late payments they will repo and charge you big fees. They did help me boost my credit up, it was expensive but worth it in the long run.

I called my finance company which dont get me wrong they had a great warranty program. Only a $100 deductible, I called to ask if they had a loaner vehicle because the place that fixed my car had it for 3 weeks.
They had to replace the whole engine. by then I really wanted a new vehicle because that sucked but once I got it out the shop I was okay again until a 2 weeks later, Brakes went out, tires need replacing (basic stuff) and the blazing gun was the transmission went out. I was furious. Too much for me to only have the car for a year. Bridgecrest was not helpful. Never been late on a payment, did what I was suppose to and they screwed me. So now if I keep the car you think of other options refinancing, trading in, etc etc. So I attempted to refinance. Nope not gonna work. Then I attempted to trade it in several times. Car purchased at $13,000 financed for $17,000 in total with a interest of 14% would be paying $25,000 for a 2014 ford fiesta -_-, my leftover loan is $14,000 and get this my car trade in value is only $4,000.
Oh yes. I am very pissed. Ill be $10,000 upside down, nobody wants to finance me. Tried a few cosigners nothing. So I came along. A guy at Planet Ford. explained my situation and he said, "Dont worry about it imma get you in car," which every dealership said the same thing. He told me he found a bank but I needed $3,000 down thats including registration. So I got my grandpa to give me the money. Mind you I am still paying for this dang on Ford Fiesta. So new vehicle is with credit acceptance. I am happy to get a new car but I am waiting on the payment info and the interest rate.
It was reasonable. I guess I would now be in a 2015 Ford Focus payments of $388 monthly ext warranty plus I can trade it in 2 years. I will say this to anyone who has a Ford car be careful. Those Fords should all come with ext warranty on the transmission. They have very faulty transmission. If one is not offered to you DONT ACCEPT THE LOAN. I made my first payment of $388 to credit acceptance this past weekend. I spoke with a rep to turn on my semi monthly payments because it's easier to me. I keep all my documents and I record phone conversations. I see so much negative reviews for this company. I hope I dont have a bad experience.

#creditacceptance Wow I can say so much but I will make a long story short! They approved me for a loan. I was behind $160. They never made attempt phone calls. They just came repo'd my car. I set up a pay date, they still moved my car to auction all the way to Flint from Detroit and held me responsible for going to pick it up after I had to come up with my late payment $160 tow fee of $260 and late fees plus pay to have it towed back!! For something that is suppose to help build your credit is designed to keep you in debt. Say no to Credit Acceptance!!! They're frauds in disguise.

My mom, dad, brother and myself all got cars the same day at this little dealership in April. We all were financed through Credit Acceptance. We made all our payments on time for 3 months. My brother passed away without life insurance. Called, tried to explain, they didn’t care so for the next 2 payments we made partial payments so we didn’t fall too far behind. My gram ending up passing away shortly after while still making payments on my brother's funeral. Now we have to pay for my gram's. We were so in over our heads we couldn’t even make the partial payments for the next 2 months. We had went out of town for 2 months. Left our cars in the driveway so they could take them if they felt the need. Got harassed saying we were hiding the cars so they couldn’t repo them when they were sitting in our driveway so we ended up coming home early to make sure nothing happened to the cars.
Get home they're fine. Still sitting there. They call me all day 15-20 times a day off like 6 different numbers. I feel no need to answer after being falsely accused and harassed for months straight. Now the cars are still sitting in my driveway. We still use them everyday and have not made a payment in months because when we try says the accounts are closed and I won’t call in to talk to their poor excuse for a manager. They have no sympathy for anyone. They are ruthless. Don’t get me wrong we would love to keep our cars but at this point the only way to do it would be if they refinanced our loans and gave us a fresh start.

I knew I was about to get behind on my car payments, I had just had surgery and had to take a couple weeks off. I called them and let them know and it was supposed to have been set up for me, but the night before I was going to make my payment, repo guy pulled my car from my yard. I had to pay double my monthly payment just to get my car back and on top of that, they raised my monthly 60$ for 10 months. Saying I was behind that much. I was 3 weeks behind when my car was repoed, so screw Credit Acceptance. They suck.

I purchased a car for $4,995 at Hoffman Bros. Used Cars located in Laurel, MD, while I put down a payment of $2,500 my car was financed by Credit Acceptance Corporation, I got approved for a monthly payment of $169.89 per month for 48 months. Unknowingly a warranty of around $3,000 was added, I called to have the warranty removed. I was given a loan for double of the asking price.
I called to discuss what had happened to my $2,500 down payment, the dealer attempted to double talk me, I then contacted Credit Acceptance Corporation with the same question, the representative stated that she didn't know what happened to the down payment. She stated that the amount financed is what was reported to them by the dealer. I then called Hoffman Bros. back, to again ask where'd the down payment go and how is that I owed over $8,000 on a car that was selling for only $4,995 excluding tags, title, dealer fees, etc. minus a $2,500 down payment that somehow "disappeared." After a year of payments, it is said that I still owe over $1,800. I advise anyone to not purchase from Hoffman Bros. or get financing Credit Acceptance.

I had purchased a car using Credit Acceptance- due to my own fault, I had a low credit score and they were the only ones willing to give me a loan. I made all my payments on time for 2 years, but due to unforeseeable events, I fell behind 4 payments. My car was repossessed- I cannot blame the company- I fell behind and they waited 4 months. I called Credit Acceptance to try and get my car back- they told me I have been on time and have put a lot of money into the car, and they'd like to work with me to keep the car.
They allowed me to make a partial payment rather than the entire amount I was behind on and released the car to me the same day. Of course repossession is horrifying, embarrassing and beyond stressful, but I truly felt that Credit Acceptance was very lenient with me and wanted to work with me- I felt the customer service rep was very respectful to me. I called, explained I understand it was my fault and why, and asked what I could do. Communicate calmly with them (I understand how hard it is to be calm when you walk outside and your car is gone) and I truly believe they will try and work with you.

They are a rip off. They will make payment arrangements with you if you're a little late that you thought you paid off at some point and they will add on more fees so that it never ends. They will turn off your vehicle so that you can't drive it and repossess your car with the quickness and call you all day long 24/7 for a fee of $12.00 that you may owe. It's just an unethical company all the way around. They give high interest car loans to people that they know can't afford the car they finance and accept a large down payment so eventually they can repossess it and do it all over again. They prey on the less fortunate. It's sickening! Never again will I give them my business and advise you not to either.

In early December, I had what I thought was a minor car accident when I hit something on an extremely foggy night avoiding a deer. Long story short, my car was a complete loss. I had been making on-time payments since March 2017 to Credit Acceptance. When I called to notify them of the accident, there was no courtesy, not once was I asked if anybody was hurt, I was switched to a loans officer who basically told me they wanted their money. She informed me that I still needed to make payments until the insurance company sent them a check and I would be Responsible for the remainder that the insurance company did not cover. I informed her that I had signed a waiver for gap insurance, something she told me she did not have in her records so I would still need to pay.
At some point the dealer whom I bought my car from, called the Credit Acceptance rep he deals with, to confirm that I had gap insurance, which he did, and he was told the most I would have to pay is my deductible with reasonable payments. This happened around the holidays so it's obviously a time when normal people are low on cash to begin with. I had no problem with paying the deductible in a timely fashion, for a reasonable amount of money. I obtain a new loan, for a higher monthly payment due to the fact that I still show the Credit Acceptance on my credit. My deductible was $500. Last week, Credit Acceptance begin calling my house, so on my first day off I called them, and they told me that I now have $750 of my loan in collections.
I asked them why it was in collections when everything I have paid is up-to-date, and he replied it was because I haven't made my December 24 car payment. I replied that they were aware of the vehicle was totaled out on December 4th, and the check was sent to them from Geico on the 20th... Isn't it kind of petty to have expected a payment on the 24th? I was informed that they added that payment onto the $500 deductible which they want in hundred dollar increments. NOT the affordable monthly payments that I was told they would be, especially since my new car loan came at a greater interest rate due to the outstanding loan with Credit Acceptance at the time I bought my new car.
Credit Acceptance does not work with you, there is NO empathy, and obviously no decent customer service. And the rep said to me, at the end of the phone call, that once I was done paying the $759, I could seek other car loan with them. You're insane. Not if you were the last predatory lender on earth. Oh, he also told me that I could use my tax return to pay it off. Thanks for the heads up guy!

A few weeks later (2) I check my banking statement to notice that none of my payments were drafted from my account. I logged in and noticed that the payment had failed to drafter several days after I had scheduled the automatic payment. I received no phone calls no letters in the mail. Nothing. I had to call the institution in a frenzy to pay the overdue balance as my next monthly payment was nearly due. Not only were they trying to charge me the $16 late fee but a $10 fee to speak to a representative to handle the situation.
They also can't help you set up the automatic payments over the phone so I would have to log in every week and several days after the payment is due to make sure that it will be drafted from my financial institution. This cruddy not only has given me a nearly 20% (!!!!) interest rate but also can't seem to create a legitimate drafting process and has INSANE fees for paying over the phone or logging in onto the website. Signed a contract to buy a vehicle in October 2016. Wish I had done my homework ahead of time but I wasn’t told who the company even was until the contract had been drawn up and I was in dire need of a car. So, of course, I was thrilled at the moment. I learned the hardest way possible. This company is beyond bad! From October 2016 to March 2017 everything went pretty smoothly. In March 2017 my father, with whom I lived, died and I left my job at that time to move to Arizona. I had applied to get my retirement money from the place I had worked, hoping that I would get it before my next payment was due. I did not, and so it began.
Beginning the end of April I received harassing phone calls every day. I explained my situation, letting them know I was awaiting money and looking for full time employment. By the time I got the money, my car had been repossessed in May. As soon as I got the money I paid all the fees they said I had to pay to get my car back and catch up my payments. I went to the holding company and got my car without incident. I was unable to find full time employment in Arizona. I only worked a temp job until I decided that I couldn’t find a place to live there and make it on a temp position. So I came back to Virginia the end of June. It took me until the end of August to find full time employment, and by the time I started working, Credit Acceptance was once again harassing me daily. I asked them to work with me. My job was going to start August 28th and I would get a paycheck two weeks after that. They refused and they came and got the car again.
On August 30th I contacted Credit Acceptance to see what I needed to do to get my car back. A friend was willing to help. I was told I had to pay $677.00 to recover my car. I called back on August 30th and paid the $677.00 plus a $3 fee. I was placed on hold for approximately 15 minutes. When “Sherry” came back on the line she said that the auction house that had my vehicle could not be reached because of the Labor Day weekend. 09/05/17 I called back. A male rep said he couldn’t help me and I should wait 2 hours and call back. I waited over 3 hours and called back.
“Tasha” put me on hold while she contacted the auction house. She came back and said the auction house refused to release my car because they were replacing a damaged bumper. She wouldn’t give me contact information for the auction house even though I had paid what was demanded of me. (There were bumps and scratches all over the car when I bought it. The back bumper has a smudged scrape on it, but it’s not dented or broken.) I asked her why they were replacing the bumper and she said because it was damaged. I told her scratches, bumps and dings were on the car when I bought it. I asked who had authorized repairs and who would pay for them and she said I would. I told her I was not paying for any work that I had not authorized on that car and she said, “Yes you will. You don’t have to authorize anything and you will be responsible for the payment of repairs.” I got off the phone because I was getting nowhere.
I called back on Wednesday 09/06 and on Thursday 09/07 and was told the auction house would not release my car. I believed wholeheartedly that the car was auctioned and Credit Acceptance was scrambling to find it and get it back. They deny this. On 09/08/17 I called Credit Acceptance at 10:17 a.m. They said they couldn’t reach the auction house and I should call back in an hour. I called back at 1:33 p.m. and no one would answer my call. (They get your account information before your call is even transferred to a rep.) I could not get through until 5:15 p.m. at which time I was told the auction house was closed for the weekend; call back on 09/11.
On the eleventh day of this fiasco, I called Credit Acceptance at 1:00 p.m. and spoke with Sharon in Redemptions. She finally gave me the information I needed to go pick up the car. However, she first told me that I had an outstanding balance of $973.28 that could be added to my current payments over a 24 month period due on the 29th of each month. This brought my car payment up to 467.31 per month. I agreed. I picked my car up at the auction house on the afternoon of 09/11/2017. The auction house had a difficult time finding my car. Over an hour later when they brought it to me, the first thing I did was look at the bumper. The same damage was still there that had always been there. So I asked the man there what the deal was about me not getting my car for 11 days because they were replacing the bumper and yet it was the old bumper.
He called the admin office and asked about it and no one knew what he was talking about. He told me that it must have been a miscommunication with Credit Acceptance. I told him there was no miscommunication; Credit Acceptance had withheld the car from me for 11 days after I paid to get it back. By this time I just got in my car and left. On 09/29/17 I made my first newly arranged payment to Credit Acceptance through Western Union Speedpay of $467.31 and all seemed to be well. On 10/29/17 I went to Western Union Speedpay to make my second payment of $467.31 and the site would not accept my choice of date as it was a Sunday. A message popped up telling me to pick a business day’s date to make my payment, so I chose Monday, 10/30/17.
On Tuesday morning, 10/31/17, I received a call from Credit Acceptance and was told that I had breached the agreement and needed to pay over $861.00 and how would I like to take care of it. I told the man I was not past due and I explained what happened with Western Union Speedpay. He said that was not acceptable and I had breached the agreement, so I began to tell him again what had happened and he told me that if I would just calm down one minute he was going to do ME a favor of reinstating the agreement. I decided that for November I would not give Credit Acceptance any reason to accuse me again, so I went to Western Union Speedpay on 11/28/17 and made a payment of $467.31. Western Union Speedpay then processed another payment on 11/30/17.
I had deleted the auto payment for the 30th, so I went back onto Western Union Speedpay to see what had happened and the auto pay for the 30th was back on there as if I had not deleted it. I called my bank to request a stop payment for an unauthorized payment that I had already made in the 28th. Last week Credit Acceptance began calling me on a daily basis to say that I have again breached my agreement because I stopped payment at my bank for a payment to them. I told them that they got their payment on 10/28, a day before it was due and I stopped payment on an erroneous transaction with Western Union Speedpay. They told me it was their payment that I stopped and therefore I am still in breach of the agreement and I need to pay them $861.00 and change immediately. I have argued; I have tried nicely; and I have yelled and they will not back down.
They say I am in the wrong and they don’t want to discuss anything with me except the matter at hand. They don’t want to talk anymore about September or October. They won’t let me say anything to try to explain without cutting me off and saying that I need to listen and stop talking. When I do so and then I try again to tell them they have received my November payment earlier than the date it was due, they say that they can see what I have paid and when, and that I still stopped a payment at my bank that was theirs so I have broken my agreement. I told them it wasn’t their payment; I had already sent their payment, and it was in fact overdrawing my checking account, so I did stop it and then they start telling me that I am admitting I’m in the wrong. You can’t win with these people! I’ve read so many bad reviews of the exact same nature as mine and one person was absolutely correct when they said this company ruins lives.

So back in July my husband and I had found a 2010 Dodge Avenger. They were selling this car for 6,000. They told us the only person who would finance us was Credit Acceptance which we said okay to and that the cost for the car would be nothing down. We get to the paper signing part and Credit Acceptance was trying to force us to pay almost 10,000 before interest on this car with 1,000 down. We decided we didn’t want the car anymore because that was ridiculous. So we left the dealership empty handed.
For the next CAC kept calling us telling us that they would knock the price down, so we decided to go and get the car because we needed a second car. 3 weeks later CAC was BLOWING my phone up telling us we were 3 months behind on payments and that they were going to come repossess the car. A week after that when our first payment was due, we had yet to get a payment book so I called them and was trying to find out what my payment was. They kept telling me they couldn’t find our account. So fast forward a week THEY CALLED EVERY SINGLE DAY MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. But whenever I tried to return the phone calls they couldn’t find the account and were beyond rude. We finally received a payment book and the payments were over $600 a month.
So we paid the payment via the Western Union thing on the phone and they charged my bank double which overdrafted the account by 200. I called them polite as all hell trying to get them to send back one of the payments because I only made one. So I had to go put a stop payment at the bank and tried to get my money back. Well the bank successfully did that and CAC was LIVID. They had people calling me nonstop telling me they were taking the car if I didn’t make the payment right now. Well fast forward to two months after we got the car in August we were driving down the road and all the lights shut off on the car and the gauges stopped working. So we called to get it fixed via the warranty we paid extra for and guess what they kept playing phone tag with me. So I just let the car sit in the driveway broken down, called them three times a week, telling them to come get the piece of crap.
So fast forward three months they finally decided to come get the car and when I walked outside to give the guy who was repoing the car key he set his hand on the gun in his holster. Now mind you I don’t live in a bad neighborhood or a bad city. So I give him the key and he takes out the front end of the car when lifting it on the flat bed. So two weeks later I wasn’t making payments because I don’t have the car. They sold the car for 4,000 and told me I owed them 12,000. They tried to tell me I had to pay for the damages on the car. So needless to say I got a lawyer and I’m not going to stand being walked all over. NEVER GO THROUGH TO CREDIT ACCEPTANCE.

I talked to a supervisor at Credit Acceptance and they agreed and approved the cancel because I willingly gave up the car before it went past due and now they are trying to get me for $8,000 dollars of a past due balance even it's on record. I returned the vehicle and had them cancel the loan, lease, the finance; before anything went delinquent.
Now it's killing my credit score and they refuse to remove it from mine and my brother's credit report because we co-signed. We took the car back before it went delinquent and they agreed to have it canceled and told us it would not affect us whatsoever. This company has poor customer service and every time I call and give my name they hung up on me. I need this off my credit report to get my son in a good school. It wasn't supposed to be sent to collections in the first place. The car was not repossessed. I drove it to the dealership, gave the man the keys and told him I could no longer afford to pay on it and he said he will cancel it and not to worry about it. I do not have any of the paperwork anymore because I didn't think anything would come of this.

Calls you all the time, harassing people and asking do people have any other type of credit cards and when is my next payday. Personally that none of you guys business, I think this is a bad credit company to deal with. All about a dollar and completely not understanding at all. They don't communicate with each other, always harassing you. In my opinion that's not what a company should do. You never know what someone has going on or what they are going through. Give people a chance and stop trying to be all in their personal business, whenever someone get paid I'm sure that Credit Acceptance will receive a payment. Glad when I leave this company. Not a very good one at all.

I was so excited to be able to get a vehicle and that Credit Acceptance was willing to give me a chance. I am a single mother who was in a domestic violence marriage. It was hard, but I was managing...then Hurricane Harvey came. I called to find out what they could do to help me. I was displaced from the hurricane and had lost everything. I was asked what I thought that I could pay. I was in hysterics and didn't know. I was asked if I could make 100$ payments. I said, "Yes. I am sure I could do that." So it was set up for September and October to be 100$ payments. So I made the payments and thought everything was okay.
I then called to see if I could get 1 more month of help and I could return to normal payments the following month. I was informed that I was 1400.00 behind in my payments. And instead of trying to figure things out was asked, "Who could you get to make this payment." I spoke to a supervisor, I am now having to basically make double payments for the next 3 months. I do work but I don't make much, and I have 4 kids at home 1 with sickle cell and one who is autistic. I now have more bills because I got us into a new place. I just wanted to warn everyone to be careful and consider all options before using this company. I would NOT recommend using this company!!

I thought I was alone in my situation. Scrolling through the comments I found out that they treat people like **. The whole point in being a second chance anything is to work with people and help them get back on their feet. I can see they’re all about money. So I was explained thoroughly about the GPS tracker on my car. I’ve had the car almost 2 years. I’ve been a few days behind or even almost 2 months behind because of life happening but I doubled up on payments or overpaid each payment. So recently I moved. I’ve gotten back on track... mind you they CALL ALL THE TIME! They call from as early as 6 to whatever time at night. I’ve gotten maybe one letter months ago. But to me they just sent that letter out to save face. I had paid up but this random letter comes in saying what I owe.
So Oct 21, Saturday, I walk outside and my car wouldn’t start. I’m not figuring this out. I’m thinking that maybe the battery finally died because it’s a 2011 and I wasn’t sure of when they put a battery in it. So okay I get a jump (which is crazy how I get a jump and the car is running). I get an oil change just in case. I took it to NTB to get a new battery and they tell me the starter went out. So I’m like that’s impossible.
The car just started. There like we tried to jump it with the new battery in and nothing... Still not putting it together that the company turned the car off because I hadn’t heard anything. I had to take off from my job until I got paid. I got the car towed to a NTB near my house so I could walk to it and get it replaced. They told it was the starter and I paid to get that replaced. So the car was hesitating like it didn’t want to start. I’m like, "Something isn’t right." So I took the rest of the week off. I was able to drive it no problem the rest of the weekend.
Monday I walked out and my car was gone. So I’m panicking because I worked Saturday and now all of a sudden I have to call off work AGAIN. I called them and they ask me where the car was. Then tell me to call the police to see if it was reposed. How do you not know that YOUR COMPANY TOOK MY CAR? The police department is rude here. Everybody in the customer service for this company is rude. They made promises to me but wouldn’t keep them. I told them you guys always call and LEGALLY are suppose to send a letter in regards or catching up before getting the car. They claim both are courtesy. I let them know everybody has been rude. Had I known you guys would repo a car for 30 days I would’ve kept my old car and paid it off then figured something out. I gave that back because it was costing me too much and the dealership made it seem like this was the best deal.
Once, I get the car back I will be looking into refinancing with somebody else. They claim there’s a booklet given to you when you first sign up. But once again you don’t send notices when a person is late and try to work with them. Karma is all I have to say! You don’t kick somebody when they’re down. At least other companies give you 90 days and will call or send out notices. They will try to help.
If you’re looking into financing through this company DON'T DO IT! Had I known this like I said I would’ve not done anything. I’m working full time. I moved back home. I’m in school full time. I’m having to take unpaid leave from my job due to this and find something in walking distance so I can get the money to pay them to be able to go back to my job. I'll either be refinancing with another company or getting out of this car to go to a different bank. Oh and the extended warranty sucks. The radio in my car went out. But of course I have to figure out how to get it fixed or a new radio.
Anybody who’s dealt with them God bless you. I understand what you’re going through. I thought I was alone. I’ve been upset and struggling. But I now see with all the reviews and some are recent this company is horrible. My mom told me her ex had a car financed through them and they did the same thing. The 7 year mark came and they tried to garnish his check. Karma is a **. They will get their back. You can’t run a company like this and expect to be successful. You have people getting repossessions or in debt and explaining why for no reason. Only reason I gave them one star is because I had no choice but to rate them.

I do not know if they pay the persons on their website to give good reviews, but I have dealt with this company for only 4 months and they are horrible. They took my car because I was late on one note. I called to get it, and paid the note. I then ask them if there are any fees for them sending someone to get it. They tell me the only fee I have is $25 for my personal belongings, which I thought was ridiculous. So I specifically asked again was there any hidden cost for the vehicle being towed, and again I was told no. Once I called to get it released they proceed to tell me there is an 800 charge for the towing and repo that will be added to my car note, and that if I’m late once within the next 24 months it’s up for repo again. Never dealt with this before, and this entire ordeal seems like a nightmare.

My car was repossessed on a Friday after missing only one payment. When, I discovered my car missing, I called Credit Acceptance to ask if they had repossessed it and they told me they had not and to contact the police. After causing a big commotion at my place of employment, it was discovered that my car had been repossessed on a security camera. I kept calling them, until close to try and make a payment to get my car back but I was still "not in the system". I finally made my payment the next morning (Saturday) and my car was released and they told me that a fax was being sent to the repossession agent. Credit Acceptance also told me on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday that it had been faxed and that the repo company must not have received it yet.
After taking off work on Monday and calling back and forth between the repossession company and Credit Acceptance, the release was finally ACTUALLY faxed as I sat with the woman on the phone and begged her to fax it and email them while we were on the phone. Now I have charges built up from having my car in storage for 7 days. I am IRATE!!!

I'm trying to pay this car off early because my Mother is in an Assisted Living Facility. She owes nine payments of $217.69. The contract states no penalties for early payoff. They tell me if I pay it off by 11/07/2107 the cost will be $2025. I've talked to at least eight people about the following issue: If there's no penalties for early payoff, my Mother should not be responsible for the nine months of interest, that they supposedly charge you daily.
Now here's a real kick in the rear, if I just continue to pay the monthly $217.69 the price is only $1959.31. When you call them they give you the payoff price, when you explain that, that can't really be the price, they just continue to say "The payoff price is....." whatever price they come up with on that day. When I read the contract to them, they don't reply to any of my facts, again all they say is the payoff of the day price.
The car payment was due on 10/13/2017. They didn't receive it by midnight, so they called me at 10 am on 10/14/2017 to inquire why the payment wasn't made. They offer no grace period whatsoever on the payment due date. And you're charged a 2% late fee. Today I was told to talk to my financial advisor on the reason why they're charging me interest on a loan that I'm trying to pay off early, and why is it that if I just make the next nine payments it's cheaper than the payoff they're giving me right now. This is by far the most crooked company I've ever heard of. They're making money off of people that don't have good credit, and those that can't get financed due to not having a substantial income. We all need to band together and start a class action lawsuit.

They are extremely rude, openly hostile, will try to contact your employer as well as family looking for someone to pay them. The customer service staff are beyond rude and will treat you like garbage even if you are making a payment to them. And on top of it all, their interest rates border on usury. You can get a loan for 4000 and end up paying 7 when all is said and done. Do yourself a favor. If you have to choose between no car and having to save to just buy outright or go with these scumbags, just take a bus and save your money until you can buy outright. My car is 45 min away from my house (I know what town it is in) and an hour away from my job. I work at 12 noon. Right now it is 9:48 and I have not been able to get my car when they said it would take half an hour from now. But apparently not. I call a District Manager by the name of Mindy and she tells me everything is okay and they entered in my account manually and it’s now “opened”. (thank God!)
I call and try to set up payment arrangements because now my loan is showing 2 months past due and I do not want to get my car repossessed and I’m set up with arrangements. I make the payment on the scheduled date and wait for it to hit my account. A WEEK passed and NOTHING! I receive a call telling me I had NSF and the payment was returned! So I call my bank trying to figure out what’s going on and they tell me the information is INCORRECT! I call Credit Acceptance back and I get told that I didn’t have NSF. In retrospect I should have done my due diligence and conducted an extensive research on this company but I was in need for an automobile at the time. I financed a 2006 BMW 330xi through this corporation and was charged 20k for a vehicle that is worth $5,000. Usually corporations like these don't last because of unethical practices it's just a matter of time before karma catches up with this entity. Some of the customer service representatives are very rude especially the one named Brittany.
This corporation is not for the people, but for the money of hardworking individuals who help to keep our struggling economy afloat. The CEO and executives of this corporation should be highly ashamed for trying to take advantage like the way they are doing but I'm pretty sure they are heartless and they have no morals or a soul of good nature. I can understand profiting $5000, but $15,000 is ludicrous. After I'm doing paying off this ridiculous loan, I will NEVER spend money with the corporation again in my life, and I will do my part to make sure I spread the word on how vicious and conniving they can be. Please I'm begging anyone that is reading this stay away from this corporation they are no good blood sucking leaches who get a joy out of robbing people for their hard earned money.
I can just imagine the employees they hire to work for them, how could you work for some sharks like these people. I feel the pain of each and every disgruntled consumer whom has took the time to vent on the corporations that give the United States a bad name. Do not worry "CREDIT ACCEPTANCE CORP" has its own karma on the way. No to need to fight back and forth with them, just let go and let God deal with them. The universe does not like UGLY. My son totaled his Jeep. We immediately contacted our insurance company and Credit Acceptance to let them know what was happening. We then said we wanted to cancel the warranty and get the paperwork going for GAP. They told my son that once the vehicle was paid off by the insurance company then the GAP would be processed. They contacted my husband because he was a cosigner and he also told the person on the other end that the vehicle was totaled and insurance would pay it off. I then notice that they are dinging my husbands and sons credit history for late payments when in fact they know it's been totaled. My son calls them today only to find out that they went to the salvage yard and reposed the pile of junk.
Our insurance company now cannot pay it off since they are no longer in possession of the piece of crap and Credit Acceptance said they would have to sell the scrap and then let the insurance company know what the balance is. HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF A COMPANY BEING THAT STUPID!!! Do they not think that people have access to attorneys just because they has to use their POS of a finance company. Tonight will determine whether I contact my attorney in the morning. If they do not stop dinging their credit for missed payments then my attorney will be more than happy to rake them over the coal and hopefully get my son & husband a little extra for slandering their credit. Then they claimed we've been late since April. Looking into our bank statements, that was a lie.
The woman he spoke to literally paused and hesitated to come up with that crap. They want $655 to get it back and $70 to get our personal stuff out if we decided to not get it back. Then my husband got legal help, and the woman refused to answer him about why the car was taken. She then claimed they lost his record. So why when I only had 2 payments left did I not receive ONE call asking where my payment was. I mailed my payments as before and because I didn't receive a call I believed that they had received them. That is until I awoke and seen my truck gone.
They have no cares whatsoever. It was literally 8 hours until I could speak with someone that they had my truck and I had to pay $285 towing plus a $35 personal property fee. I'm beyond pissed. Well heck you bugged me daily and now that I'm almost done you decide no call or letter is needed.
No courtesy extended to avoid this extra fee... Then it hit me, this is how they make money. Word to the wise DO NOT ALLOW A DEALERSHIP TO SELECT CREDIT ACCEPTANCE AS YOUR BANK. This is happening too much and to top it off they bank on owners NOT being able to pay so that they can get additional money out of the vehicle which they charged 2 or more times what it's worth. I've had the vehicle for two years. Let's not mention the $3600 I had to fork out in the first 6 months to fix the transmission, exhaust, brakes and fuel pump that they refused to cover. Never been late. As I ticked away at my credit I opted to refinance with my bank. To which I was able to secure a much better loan and get myself out from under these frauds. Or so I thought.
My financial institution requested a payoff last week. And we finalized the loan this past Friday. To which Credit Acceptance is due to receive said payoff, which should include any and all balances on the account, this coming week. Again, I finalized the new loan on Friday. Saturday Credit Acceptance began blowing up my phone. Claiming I had defaulted on my loan and that it was in collections. No. Never been late. Their payment is on auto pay and I've never missed a payment. They're threatening to repossess. I advised them that they are due to receive the loan payoff this coming week and to please note that on the account. The representative was extremely rude and demanded a specific day. Again, my financial institution is remitting this payment so I cannot give a specific date but again due to be received this week.
If they touch my truck after all I've invested into it along with my commitment towards payments, I'm going to sue them like there's no tomorrow. Now that I'm in a better financial position than I was when I bought the truck, they don't realize who it is they're dealing with. I'm not an idiot and they're not getting MY truck. (Thankfully this beast does not have their fancy little added gadget installed-- GPS tracker).
If they enter my property and try to take my truck, the cops will be on scene and they will send them packing once I show them my paperwork from my financial institution indicating that THEY own the truck now, not these guys. Loan sharks who will milk you dry if you're too broke to fight them, or ruin your credit in the process. Not this chic, not after all the work I put into repairing the truck and my credit. They're in for a shock. Will update once my bank has confirmed that they received the payoff.

After a costly and difficult divorce which lasted nearly 2 years, my credit was destroyed and my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD was falling apart. I had driven by this dealership for nearly 4 years and watched them grow from a 20-car lot, to a 200-car lot.
With my two sons in the Jeep, heading yet again to Advance Auto Parts, I stopped at the dealership to look at the vehicles they had on the lot. I found an extremely nice Taurus Limited. This car had everything in it. It was loaded with features nearly identical to my Jeep. It did not have a navigation system but I could live without that. The car was listed for $11997. A sticker on the windshield noted that it came with an extended warranty which was INCLUDED in the price of the vehicle. I filled out the credit application, put down a relative down payment and within 30 minutes, I was driving away in my "new" car.
I changed jobs about 8 months after buying the car and I called to change my payments (I pay bi-monthly and my pay dates changes) and spoke with a gentlemen named Keith. He was a perfect gentleman. Never once balked at changing the payment dates. Within 10 minutes all was taken care of. CAC has been good to me and my family. Words of caution: Buy what you can afford. Test drive the car like you stole it. I did. Buy and OBD reader and take it to the dealer with you, I did. I had a great experience. I would recommend CAC. Just understand, they deal with consumers with less than good credit, mostly. They need to watch their bottom line, too.

My girlfriend had to go on medical leave for the last month of her pregnancy and she can't collect her short term disability pay until after she gives birth. Well we figured we would try to get a payment deferred. Keep in mind she's never been late once in a year. They won't work with you at all. Actually they asked if she could make payment early after they denied her. I wouldn't recommend anyone to deal with them since they obviously hate children and pregnant women.

Well, it all started when my mom was out car hunting and we came across this place off the Interstate in D'Iberville. The salesman was very nice and the owners as well. Got my mom into a car that has really turned out to b a great car. She is happy with it. There are a few things that could have been done better... But overall mom was happy. So I decided that when the time came I would be going to the same place... Already had my eye on a car. Well, I delivered the newspaper during this time so my car was my office. I had a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder... A gift from my son for my birthday. Have to say it was the best vehicle I've ever had Considering it had an oil leak the whole 4 years we had it. Well, we put money into it and my husband said that if I was to continue doing my route I was going to need something better.
So off to Music Motors I went. I found a 2007 Nissan Sentra on the website for 4,999... Cute little car though it fit me. There were address things that needed to be fixed but they got me in the car. I was very grateful at the time. Well after I got home and sat down to go over the contract... I had financed the car for over 8,000... The price was 4,999 but when I read the contract it was said the price of car would be 7,000. 12 month 12,000 mile warranty which the warranty company didn't honor either. So credit acceptance financed me for 8,087. 7 for the car 710 for gap coverage and 1,333 for the warranty. 2 days after I got car... Had to have all new tires and a front end alignment done. 2 weeks after had to have struts motor and transmission mounts replaced, Cv axle and away bar replaced. Which the warranty company would not pay to fix because there is no mechanic where we live the will warranty their labor for a year.
So I called the place where I got car and the salesman said "no worries. I got your back. I'll get you the number for a mechanic that I know will use the warranty. Told me this 3 times but never called back. So I had to take the money out of my own pocket, my moms pocket and friends to fix and then have car turned back on BECAUSE I was late making my payments due to having to put money into the car. Needless to say credit acceptance was not helpful... Everyone I spoke with always said "we understand and we are trying to help you." I even had an operator tell me after I told her why I was behind...She says "well maybe if you put your priorities first you wouldn't be in this position!!!" I told her "lady I don't know who you think you are but I will pay What I can when I can" and that she could get... Well I called right back and made a complaint and pretty much dealt with the same stuff.
My husband has been laid off and they want to know when I can make a payment or if I can borrow the money from someone. Car has been repo'd, my stuff still in it and now they say I must pay in order to get my things. Oh and I've lost my paper routes as well since I have no car at all. So I was screwed from the moment I went back to the dealership. DO NOT EVER GO TO MUSIC MOTORS/AUTO HIFI TO GET A CAR... THEY ARE NO GOOD AND DEAL WITH CREDIT ACCEPTANCE... NOTHING GOOD WILL COME OF IT. My first time ever financing a car!

I had only opened a loan with this company for 6 months when my car was totaled in an auto accident and the person driving was nearly killed. The car had full coverage, so I notified an agent at CAC that the note was to be paid off by the insurance company in a matter of weeks. Since the car was totaled, I was told not to worry about any future payments. Right before the insurance company released the check(s), CAC repo'd the car, or what was left of it, so that the entire insurance check had to be sent to them, since they had claim to it. They then extorted another $1,200 in fees from me for the repossession and are selling the wrecked car in auction for additional funds. The amount I was supposed to get for my car was reduced to a third, and I won't even get it from them for 21-30 days.

I got my car and made my payments on time for two years until I had issues that put me behind two payments. I have made every payment since on arrangement with the company. My credit has been decimated since. It shows that I have missed 25 payments. Am a father of 4 so catching has been hard but diligently, I have maintained my payments. This company will not help in any way and will do all to harm your credit further. It's best to avoid if at all possible.

I had my wallet, car seat, personal papers and all in there and they will not tell me where my car is until I pay the payment and the 250.00 repo fee! I did not think they could hold your personal belongings until you pay. How in the hell am I suppose to pay with out my wallet? I would never do and will never do business with this place again. I financed my vehicle back in 2014 for what I was told was a 36 month loan at $331.32. That seemed right since the vehicle was just shy of $10,000.00. As the end of my loan was supposed to be approaching I got a balloon payment and was told in order to stay on track I needed to pay $406. After doing this for a few months I call to get a pay off and find I still owe over $4000 on my $10,000 vehicle after 3 years?!? I ask how this is possible since my loan was nearly up, and I was informed my loan is for 51 months! I have them send me the paperwork and it says 51 months. I know the dealership told me 36 so shame on me for not reading or shame on them for pulling a switch on me.
I continue to pay the higher rate and this month I'm at work and see some man walking around my truck. I walk outside and ask if I can help with something and he said he's VINing my vehicle, but it's not the one he's looking for. Even though I know I had just paid them I decided to call and be safe. Turns out according to them I missed April's payment. This is now June by the way, so I ask did I make May's? They said yes, so I said what about Junes and Marches? They said yes. So how did I miss Aprils, but continue to pay you? Why wouldn't you notify me of this error before sending someone to repo my vehicle? They even sent me a receipt for April so how was I to know something was wrong?!
This isn't the first time this has happened with them either. So I make an additional payment so they won't repo my truck even though I have a receipt and somehow managed to pay the two following months. They dinged me with a late payment from April dropping my score even though this seems more like an error on their end than mine, and I just checked my score today and I have been dinged with yet another late payment when my July payment isn't even due until the 19th! I love my vehicle and I had full intentions of keeping it since I have customized and formed an attachment to it, but I cannot fathom another 2 years of this! I sold cars and used to recommend this company and I truly feel guilty for ever recommending them. I have been a good customer for 3 years and now they are borderline tormenting me with this late payment credit dings over their own errors.
I guess they assume I'm not refinancing through them so screw it. That or if they ding me enough I won't have a better option, but to deal with them again. Horrible HORRIBLE company and I'm going to dispute everything I can from them through the credit bureaus. Also instead of paying $11927.52 for the truck I am now paying just shy of $17000.00 for a 10k truck. Despicable! I'll walk, ride a bus, or ride a bike before I ever finance a car through this company! Let me say the first 3 years were fine, but now that I am on the back end of my loan and no longer upside or stuck they have become horrible. I am constantly afraid that I'm going to go in a store and come out to my truck missing because somehow I missed a payment 4 months back, even though they sent a receipt, and I still managed to pay all my other notes. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Here's where the problem seriously escalates; If you don't redeem your vehicle, it goes to auction. I went into a dealership. First thing I said was I didn't want to waste their time and mine. Told them exactly what I had and what was on my credit. They assured me that they could finance me because they had a bank that guaranteed to finance anyone that they matched up the person with a auto as they had a inventory of their auto's. They sold me a truck without seeing it as it was on their other lot and showed a picture of it and the Carfax.
Being desperate and hesitant I did the paper work. After I had asked about seeing the truck but was informed they couldn't go get it unless they sold it to me. Upon arrival of the other lot I was not very happy as the truck didn't look like anything in the picture. The inside had torn seats. The truck was dirty. The air didn't work which the dealer said they would take care of. When we got back to their lot he wrote up the items to be fixed then we went to gas station and the sales man went to pay for gas. I informed him I couldn't get the gas thing open. He tried. Finally got it. Said he would order a new one. The drivers door panel was falling off. The air conditioner didn't work. When went to start the key wouldn't turn. He got it started and said the key must be bent and it was the only one. They had to go to Wal-mart and buy a new one.
Before I let him leave I asked, "Can you make sure my lights are on" because after all this I wasn't sure if they even worked but they did. Went back several times to get the air done as the rep called and told me I had appointments to waste my time as the place they were sending me didn't have time. The rep said, "Well at least its not going to be hot that weekend" and it ended up being over a 100 that weekend. Took it to mechanic who said it just needed freon. It was cold for a day. I took it somewhere else who told me there is a leak in the line somewhere. Dealership wouldn't fix then the cat convert was messed up. Had fumes going into cab of truck. I was done with this.
I called dealer and Credit Acceptance. No one would help me. I said, "Look, I'm on fixed income. You knew this. I can't keep paying to fix and make payment." Can they work with me for a different auto? Credit Acceptance told me how sorry the dealer mislead me but I could go to one of their other dealers and explain my situation. When I did they would only give me half of what I was charged for this auto. In the end they repo the truck. My boyfriend paid to get it back then Credit Acceptance wanted twice the amount of the payment that I couldn't make in the first place. I never received a bill again from them and then the truck stopped starting all together again for the 3rd time. I received a call after never receiving a bill or any contact from them wanting 5000 or they would repo again after they had already closed the account and reported on my credit report.

I said "sounds good". But when things were said and done and all the paperwork was rushed thru it came up that they tacked on an extra 1,000 on my bill. When asked I gave them 200.00 down and 800.00. Then they said I had a two year warranty.
And when I asked them why my total was so high they said "because of warranty." I said "I don't want the warranty." They told me I have to have it. It's the policy. I got my 07 Grand Prix for my birthday and my aunt had to co-sign. They were selling me a dream to help get my credit straight. I was told by the owner that if I paid on time for 6 months I can get it transferred out of her name into just mine. That right there is an huge issue when you drag someone else's credit into this mess and that's not even the only thing, so later on earlier this year I call a different location still ran by credit acceptance and see if I can trade the car in. I told them my dilemma about the car and what they're doing to my credit. The rep I was talking to laughed and said, "Sir we just say that to get people into cars", rep admitted himself the company was kinda shady. Then come to find out they hit me with an app rating of 24% high and no explanation why, and that's not even the worse.
Back from the beginning I was told I had a warranty, the only thing the warranty covered was a battery! The car completely shut off on me on the freeway. Thank God I was ok. I went back to the dealer to get everything needed fixed. NOTHING WAS COVERED. I ask, "Can I refinance" and they told me they don't do that, just pay. I asked, "Can I get an extension or a little bit more time cause I had to come out of pocket with fixing it", so me trying to get the car drivable they towed it.
The big turn off was the customer service. I paid to get the car out and the monthly payments increases (crazy they can refinance or do extensions but they can add fees). I ask the lady for the address to pick my car and she told me I had to make an appointment, I told her I needed my car. It's dire (job). She said, "You try using Uber" so I told her "I gave you my money to get my car out and if I lose my job because you don't want to give me my car the day I paid for it out are you guys going to employ me".
Of course she not, so they released the car out to me and the man at repossessions ask if I was being finance by Credit Acceptance and he said that the worse company you can go with (I notice) so I got chewed out by my job. My axles was messed up from the tow truck so more money I had to put into getting it fixed so I wanted to get a tune up and the mechanic said, "Sad enough you were sold a lemon or a car nowhere near what it worth not even with all the Equity and interest rates". I just want out of this.

This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. They say one thing and then do the total opposite. We have never missed a payment in 5 years and one month somehow we did. No calls were given and the car did not notify us either, as they said it would. They repossessed the car and when we tried to get it back they said they couldn't find it. Then they told us it was in transit for a whole week, with us calling every day. Then they claimed our car was in a check in process at the auction.
So after a week and a half we're finally able to get our car only to see that it had been ripped apart and all of our speakers, stereo systems, and lights had been stolen. They claimed they had insurance to cover anything that went wrong during this process and would handle it. Now they're giving us the run around, they keep closing our claim we had opened saying there's not enough information. Every time we call it's a different story as to why our claim can't be resolved. Mind you we only had three more payments left to pay when this debacle happened.
They are refusing to help, continuing to lie, and we've paid fees on top of fees. There has been thousands of dollars stolen from us, while in their possession, and they don't care and refuse to help. I am going to continue to escalate this issue as far as I can go because this is ridiculous. My truck was taken into the dealership where it was purchased to get repairs done to the engine. The dealer knew me well because the car had an extended warranty and had been brought back about 4 times since the purchase within 6 months. The Service Manager at the dealership said he was so sorry that I was having so much trouble and would make sure he could get me a good deal on the purchase of a rebuilt engine. Unfortunately, my Warranty did not want to cover this expense due to what they called neglect by not stopping the vehicle and parking it to be towed when the original problem was noticed. Unfortunately, the car started having engine problems on the road late night going out of town. It was a rural area and there was no cell phone reception.
To make a long story short, the Service Manager who made all these verbal promises ends up getting fired and never contacts me. I drive by the dealership about a month later and see that my car is no longer on the property where it was parked waiting for repair. I come to find out that the car was removed and reported by the Dealership to CA as abandoned. I have NEVER in two years made a late payment. I had to get my truck out of the impound and have it towed to another repair shop. I called CA and asked them why they came in got the vehicle. They claimed that the dealership called them and said that the vehicle was abandoned. I asked if they even questioned the person calling if they had tried to contact me and the answer was that is not their responsibility. All it would have taken was a simple question or phone call to me and this would have never happened.
Credit Acceptance was irresponsible in how they handled this matter, and the people at the dealership were twice as irresponsible. These companies are in business to make money and they CAN and WILL do that regardless. It just is not fair that they also make money by Capitalizing on the misfortune of others. I filed a complaint for this to be removed from my credit report but they refused. Why not? What will it hurt? Well I guess they feel I will be obligated to have to go through them again to get another HIGH ** interest rate in the future if they keep my Credit Messed up.

Today was the worst experience possible, in which I had the displeasure to talk to Nathan a man who speaks of being a manager, more than in fact and a totally unprepared person in relation to customer skills. Anyway, I'm starting to accept that they did not do anything for me, just like they did not do all those people who here also left their dissatisfaction with the company. I do not recommend anyone thinking of opening a loan with them, it really was the worst experience I've ever had in my life.

My very first payment with this company was messed up. Salesman set up auto draft from my bank account. The payment was not taken day it should have and when they did finally try I was short. The rep called me. I told them I live on fixed income. Could payment be rolled to end of contract? No. I was told I had to pay with card... I refused. I asked for supervisor. I was told they didn't have one... asked for phone number to office refused to give me one. I asked for mailing address to mail money order. Was told couldn't give it to me (I guess they don't get a commission unless they collect payment). Well I said when they called again maybe someone could help me.
Every month after that my payments came out. No problems. 3 months they called me wanting 1st payment. I finally got address and mailed money order that came back as undeliverable. 11 months I have made payments. They repo'd my car. Want 250 extra for repo charge. The truck drag my truck down street with tires dragging so who knows what damage has been caused and Allstar Recovery is located at local auction lot 2 towns over. Gosh big surprise there. I wanna know who is going to cover whatever damage driver did. I read review. Said they were made to sign release before they saw car (that was damaged). Car isn't worth half what I'm paying and I can't trade. Help. Anybody have any luck with these people??

I had an emergency situation last month and could not make the payment. I called them to ask for an extension on the payment. Their answer is they don't do that so I explained that I could not make my payment but would catch up with a payment on June 9th and then my regular payment on June 20th. They started calling me on June 7th... A total of 9 calls with 2 voice mails left. When I got off work, I called them back and AGAIN told the rep I would make the missed payment on the 9th. It is now 10:23 am on the 9th and they are calling again. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. DO NOT borrow from them no matter how much you want or need a vehicle. There are other subprime lenders out there who are willing to work with you.

It was obvious I was being ripoffed from the start, but I was in a bind and really needed a car. The car lot was in on it as well, as a matter of fact I believe that they just pocketed my down payment. I bought a severely overpriced SUV and have made on time payments for 4 years. The transmission is going out in it and I am looking for something else. I can live with the fact that they ripped me off cause I knew it from the start... what I can't live with is after 4 years of making on-time payments... it has been no help to my credit.
After talking to a REAL, reputable dealer, whom I explained my situation & is actually trying to help me, I was schooled on the disgusting practices of Credit Acceptance and their shady ** dealers. They will NOT report to credit bureaus if you make your payments on time cause they want you to be forced to come back to them. Until the bitterness goes away... Credit Acceptance is gonna be #1 on my ** list. My last payment is due in just a couple months & even though I've paid online all this time. I think I'm gonna mail a check in for that LAST payment... a check that's been soaked in rabid cat piss then dried, paid to the order of Credit Obliterators in the amount of the last dime you ** get from me!

OK. This company is so inept. On April the 15th of this year we paid off our car early I might add with 0 late payments. Now it's June 2nd and we have yet to receive title. Every time we call, different story. "It's in the mail" they say. Now they say we have to go to our local tag office, that they will have it... It took a month just for them to send the papers saying the loan was paid... We never will use these nut cases again!!

I purchased a 2012 Mitsubishi with the purchase price of $16000 and a trade in of $7000. I have been paying $500 per month for 3 years. That is a total of $18000. I still have 2 more years to pay. The car is nowhere near what is owed so I can't trade it for a new one. I have asked about having my ex husband wants to take over the payments but they do not refinance. This company is supposed to help people with less than perfect credit. Instead they stick you with a loan that is outrageous and the car will never be worth what is owed. RUN!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I just called to get a payoff quote. I financed 7300.00 and have made 4560.00 in payments. They told me my balance is 6900.00? That the finance charge was over 4000.00. I was told the finance charge was 23.99% which would make the finance amount 1751.00? The person on the phone said they could not tell me why it is calculated automatically. I understand my credit is less than perfect but almost 50% interest? Stay away from this company if you have any choice.

Stay away from this company. I was late with one payment, woke up to an empty parking spot, paid extra to recover my car that was promptly set for auction, and now my credit score 420! It's been months since my car was repossessed. I've paid on time & sometimes early since. Checked credit score two days ago & my once 720 credit score is now a whopping 420! The only item on my credit is this ** car. This company is evil & their customer service sucks.

I have never been treated so rudely. I called on the 8. Told them I bought a Jeep from Jeep Liberty. Called them. Told them the Cavalier was making a noise. I knew this 'cause my mechanic looked at it. He said the car was unsafe. This lady informed me that there no grace period at all. First of all why can't I have a safe car to drive. Why should I drive a car, get in an accident, kill myself and maybe a family. This car was released with a built missing from the Cavalier. It looked like it was grinding against the rotor. I'm so hurt. First car I have ever bought in my life.

I don't understand the negative reviews on here! My husband and I purchased a car from a dealer in 2014 and this loan company gave us a chance when others did not! We were young and didn't have very established credit. Just a credit card that we were late on payment with. Since that day when we drove home in our 2007 Chevy Equinox with 90k miles on it we have not had any issues and never missed a payment! We have it set up as auto payment through our bank and check every other Friday to make sure it goes out! We had one fail to go out for unknown reason and they called to see what happen because we never miss a payment! Turned out they tried to pull the money before his check hit and the bank stopped it, we told them run it again and boom right through and not problems since! This was a short loans and will be paid off soon and hope to finance a new car through them!
You cannot blame the company for repo your car if you're behind on payments and also it's sad it's not their problem your car broke down or your check was short. You promised to pay you need to pay, cars break down and you have to fix them. It's part of life. Unfortunately it does mean you don't need to pay them! We put brakes, new windshield, windshield wipers, tires and a new trans in our car and still never missed a payment or expected them to let us miss one because of it! A car is responsibility.

This is the worst company to have any dealings. They are rude, and uncooperative. They repo'd our truck when the payment was two days late, charged a huge fee, and what they quoted us to get caught up changed after I sent them a huge payment. When we got the truck back the repo company messed with the GPS tracker device and the truck hasn't run since. We tried to tell Credit Acceptance and they told us to call the repo company. The repo company said they didn't touch anything. So, once again I called Credit Acceptance and told them they'll get a payment when someone fixes the truck. So, of course they put it back out for repo. At this point they can have the damn thing because nobody wants to or knows how get it running. Maybe they can pick it up in the damn river.

Called Credit Acceptance for pay off on car loan. They stated I was in collections. Can't be, have never missed a payment in 4 years. Rep said in 2014. I went online and canceled NY auto payment and reinstated next month. No computer here, that would be impossible. Then rep said I called. No way. Asked for their transcript. Rep refuse to send. I asked, "OK if I did that why almost $1000 more." Finance charges, late fees. What? I was never notified. Nothing. This company is a scam. I never called, never did anything online. Shut this company down!!! They make up charges to pull from your pocket.

The folks will be happy to give you a high interest car loan through many of the worthless used car lots they work with. We've been paying on a car through them since April 2016 and the vehicle ran for less than 90 days, then broke down completely due to the "repair" to the a/c that we required in writing before purchasing at Alabama Auto Mall in Center Point, Alabama. Credit Acceptance Corporation would only say sorry to hear about your problem with our crap dealer, when will we be sending more money. Credit Acceptance Corporation is a predatory car finance company with only their own best interests in mind.

I had called CA in advance to make a payment later than the scheduled date of the month. The representative was very nice about it. Unfortunately the day that I'd pay got mixed up. I said next Friday. She noted it would be two days later. So four days later they called me saying "where's your payment?" I said "next Friday." She gave me an attitude. I even offered paying a late fee. She demanded money that day and said there is no Grace period. That's fine but why be nice about it in the beginning then call me four days later demanding money. This has happened a couple times. Yes I should pay on time but there are times when we all get behind. Besides the car financed is parked in my driveway needing a catalytic converter and an alternator. The cars they finance are junk to begin with.

I purchased a 2008 Honda CRV. I will never go thru Credit Acceptance ever again. They are very, very rude. I only get paid twice a month and I make my car payment with my 2nd check that I get each month. They are very nosy. I was told when I purchased my car that they allow you so many days for you to get their payment to them but after 2 days they are blowing your phone up trying to get a hold of you for the payment. Then they start in at you saying, "Why is your payment late" and "Can you borrow the money from someone." And I proceeded telling them that I don't have anyone that I can borrow from. They need to stop being so rude because my payments are not that late and I will be sending my payments whenever my money goes on my card each month.
