I was faced with an aging and complicated income tax problem with the IRS. I decided that I needed help and made a list of companies to contact based upon advertisements. I contacted Community Tax first. I was surprised at first contact by the comfort that I felt talking with Paul. This was very important to me. I immediately entered into a contract with Community Tax and never looked back. Christopher ** was assigned as my Case Advocate. He quickly took the weight off my shoulders as he followed the activity and progress of his several specialist. He explained the sequence of actions and the expected time each would take.
In addition a bi-weekly appointment was established for us to discuss progress on my case. However; there were many times that he would contact me in between because he did not want to wait based upon of the importance of a particular topic. All questions or inquiries by me were answered/handled immediately and many times a follow up to be sure that I was comfortable. Christopher set the tone for professionalism and it was magnified by his co-workers. Noteworthy is the first co-worker that I had to work very closely with, Yolanda **. Her expertise in tax preparation was superior and she never hesitated to cover everything thoroughly, regardless of the time or effort required. All done in a most atmosphere. Early on in the process I felt very comfortable that an acceptable resolution with would be reached. I was correct. A very difficult task accomplished in a stress-less process.

Community Tax makes grand promises, take your money which was not cheap and do very little and very slowly to resolve the issue. It's been over 6 months. They pass us off to customer service and they do nothing. We were promised to get IRS fees and penalties waived as this was our first ever mistake when filing with Turbo Tax. We have never been delinquent so we trusted them to handle all contact with IRS. All we get now are threading letters from IRS. They won't return phone calls and we have been reaching out weekly. I guess if your problem is not big enough, you get runaround. Not happy.

I had very serious issues with The IRS federal and state Community tax helped solved those issues with professionalism, Mrs. Maggie ** was my Representative and she was awesome. Community Tax did a great job for me. I had a problem with back taxes and the IRS was saying that I owed $10,000. I knew that something was wrong. Community Tax had to reach out to the IRS several times and they worked with me and made sure that they have to do whatever they could to make it so I didn’t have to be worried about the IRS putting a lien on my house. I was financially in hardship and the IRS pretty much agreed to a way lower amount than the $10,000. They definitely got me out of a lot tax debt.
I paid Community Tax $500 at the beginning for them to represent me, and then they told me how much my payment was gonna be and divided it by so many months. I wound up paying $125 a month and once that’s paid, I'm all done. My last payment is in May. I paid close to $4,000 for all the services from Community Tax. Over the past year and a half, I feel that the cost was a little high but it's not too bad. I don’t really know what it’s like to have to deal with the IRS all the time like they did for me and what extent they have to go through to get the offer in compromise. And the Community Tax agents are awesome. I set up automatic payments where they just take the payment out of my checking account but there were a few months when I couldn’t afford the minimum $125, and they gave me an extra week or two if I needed it. They worked with me a lot and I really appreciated it.

Ms. Angela ** my representative was helped me with my tax problems. She stayed in contact with me on all bases and kept me informed at all times. I would recommend Ms. ** and Community Tax office to my friends. They really care about the common person and their tax problems. It is impossible and frustrating to get in touch with IRS. Due to my frustration I contacted Community Tax and they were able to get resolution with IRS to my satisfaction. It is worth paying fees to Community Tax. My case manager is Daniel ** and he did everything and he is polite. My Ma. tax is pending but I am sure that Community Tax will get good resolution.

I sought help from Community Tax because I owed a lot of money. The person who I spoke to was really nice and their enrollment process was easy. But it was not a good idea for me because they charge a fee to get your taxes and paperwork, while the other place that I had spoken to didn’t charge me a fee. I wasn’t aware of that until I started the process but I was already in the midst, so I went on with it. I also had to send my paperwork two or three times to them. The first time, it got lost, and then the next time, they kept switching people over.
But the thing that I really had an issue with was that they waited until I finished paying them off before they sent out the offer in compromise as opposed to doing it immediately and starting the process. It was a monthly payment, so it took about two years before I finished paying them off, and then I have to wait for about a year more because the IRS also takes time. I found out that they accepted my offer just last month. And I have to pay a big lump sum now. They originally told me I would be paying like $500 to $1,000, because that’s where I fit in when they did my income, when I first started with them. I tried to better my life, and for a year or so, I got a good job. By the time they had to do the offer, they went according to what I was making then, so now, I'm paying almost $8,000.
There were some good people who stayed in touch with me and kept me updated regularly. And then, after I did my survey with them, someone called and offered me a little bit of extra help, and that was cool. But I wouldn’t recommend them to anybody. I did the same thing, by myself, for the state and I got a response fast and I had a cheaper rate. So, I could have done what they did by myself and I think I would have gotten a better result.

I was in Community Tax's tax debt program. Everything was good in the whole enrollment process. Whatever I asked them or whatever was going on in the processing, they always updated me. We did the final $100-pay that we need to do. After that, everything is clear. Community Tax was excellent. I can recommend them to people who needs help.

I had some really bad issues with my taxes which I didn't get resolved. It was getting to the point that I didn't know what to do so I got in contact with Community Tax and it's been really good. I tried to check a couple of companies and Community Tax was the one I felt more comfortable with. The enrollment process was a little scary being in whatever financial situation that you're already in and then kinda committing to trying to give up more money and trying to move those and expenses around. But at that same time, it was worth it. The agent kept me posted on what was going on. Anytime I got mail from the IRS, I would pretty much scan it and email it to her. I get a response back within the next hour or so, letting me know that they were taking care of it. I had to really do some adjustments on my end but the payment plan was fair

Some people told me that Community Tax was good and I wanted to go with them based on what I've been hearing about them. The enrollment process wasn’t long at all and the representative that I had quit but he referred me over to another guy. They called me every little chance they got and let me know what was going on with it. The response time was accurate because if I didn't get somebody right there, they called me right back. The payment plan was awesome and I was glad to have them. They referred me to a licensed counselor and she was good. She handled the case and got everything down pat for me. I’ve completed the program with them and I was satisfied with everything. I already recommend them to a friend of mine.

Nora's communication with me surrounding my tax burden situation was just what was needed for my problem. Nora proved to be on time - knowledgeable, empathetic and spoke to me in a way that made me feel comfortable. Nora truly made me feel that my tax problems with the IRS were being handled professionally. The end result was that my monthly tax payment was reduced, due to Community Tax, by over 250%! I was starting to get harassed about my taxes, so I called Community Tax and talked to some guy. He said I had a good chance and so I went with it. They were real good. The only bad thing is I didn't pay attention to the loan. I couldn't read it on my phone, so I decided just to get them to take care of my case, and they charged me over $3,000 in interest. That's real bad. I didn't see that thing. I would've worked another deal out because I'm having to pay for four years now. The people that helped me through the loan really took advantage of me. They just said that that was the only loan that they could give me.
So far, they said they worked it out. I signed up with them, and then they got me the loan thing to pay for them, then they ran with it and got ahold with the tax office. We filled out paperwork and sent them back to them. And then, the IRS agreed with what they had, and now I'm just waiting for the IRS to send me my final papers. I borrowed 6,000 and I gotta pay 3,800. Overall, it was great, and I would highly recommend.

Jennifer did an incredible job when she took over my account. She got me in a non collection status. I am completely at ease now and can move on with my life. I was late on my tax return, and I do with the 1040 what I have to pay back in the IRS. Community Tax me informed on everything, and everything was great. It took about a year but the program is already complete. It was okay for the price I had to pay.

I asked Community Tax to help with a tax return issue. Their sales rep was very friendly and talkative, and made me feel confident about their service. Their cost was quite expensive (a $500 fee up front, plus a $500 fee per tax return to amend) but it wasn't outrageous compared to other companies I looked at, and they had good reviews, so I went with them. I now regret that choice. The tax representative I was assigned to was entirely non-communicative. The day after I was assigned to him he went on a one month vacation. After he came back, he never contacted me until I emailed asking if he was back yet. After that, he would not reply to my emails at all. I sent mail after mail, all of which went unresponded. Finally I had to contact the sale representative and ask him to help me communicate.
It was only after I threatened to initiate a CC charge back that my tax representative replied. This happened numerous times, and in the end I had to CC my sales rep on every single email I sent just to get any response at all. I was not comfortable sending personal information that way, but it seems like the threat of a charge back was the only thing willing to make them do the job I paid them for.
Eventually, they did complete my tax return. It took five months. My return was only filed the very last week of the extended deadline. It was a very stressful time, as I was not confident that Community Tax would fulfill their deal, and it was far too late to look for other companies. I'm not sure if this was a nasty tactic on their part, or just gross incompetence of my tax preparer. I will not be using them again.

I am taking this opportunity to express my appreciation for the continued work of Barry **, CPA, and the supporting team of practitioners. I previously commended Barry and the Team for their seminal work in breaking the interminable impasse with the IRS. Barry proved that the IRS had wrongfully sought money we did not owe the last 11-years and that the IRS owed us the garnished income that had been in dispute for the last 3-years of that 11-year ordeal. This commendation is written to confirm that a settlement check has finally been sent to us by the IRS to complete the happy resolution of all issues. I want to thank Barry for all his perseverance during this past year and thank Community Tax for providing this service. I saw so many good ratings for Community Tax, so I picked them up. The attention that they gave me was very good, and everybody was friendly and they always answer when I have a question. They attended to my case and they were really nice. The payment plan is great and I like it as well. I feel better and really relaxed without that much money I have to pay for the IRS.

When I called Community Tax, they seemed to help me out so I gave them a chance. They dealt with the IRS for some years that I didn’t pay taxes. They asked me for some paperwork and I sent it to them. Then they just keep me informed every month. They called or texted me to let me know if I needed to talk to the IRS or how long it was gonna take. Moreover, they made the payment plan very reasonable. I knew it was gonna be a little pricey and I didn’t have the money so they gave me a payment plan for six months. They knew what they were doing and I was really impressed with how they handled the cases. I'd tell others to call Community Tax, which would help them out with their problems.

Community Tax was a good deal. It took a long process though, and they changed so many people that I never knew who I was talking to. That was frustrating, big time. But the end result was great and I'm happy with the outcome. The IRS sent me a letter saying that they went ahead and approved. I owed $140,000, I paid $5,000 and I’m getting off for a hundred bucks. So, I’m satisfied.

Working with Community Tax has been great. Everything worked out good. They just took a long time, two years. They did really good keeping in charge of me and letting me know that things were in process. They were informative. Their rep worked with me and she was on top of things. I paid them off before they even did anything. But nothing happened until after they were paid. I had to give them 700 down and they got started, and I made payments to them. I ended up paying five grand, but they handled it.

I have had a good experience with Community Tax. I received some papers from them because it says they accepted the negotiation, but I need them to call me or give me more orientation about how I am going to pay the $500 that I have to pay the IRS. Overall though, they are great. There was a mistake but their people solved the situation and were very responsive about it. They also gave me a payment plan, so they helped me a lot. I have been recommending Community Tax to my friends and people I know.

Hired Community Tax in 9/22/2017 to file my income tax return for the year 2016 and negotiate with the IRS an installment agreement for the tax debt. A practitioner was assigned to my case and they prepared the 1040A which was submitted to IRS in October 15, 2017. One month later, Community TAX informed me via email that IRS accepted the terms for the installment agreement and that Community TAX would close the case as they deemed to be resolved. The following month while I was away on a family vacation trip, IRS sent a letter to them and myself (Dec 21, 2017) with a rejection letter for the proposed installment agreement.
The reason according to IRS was due to insufficient monthly payment offered based on the balance owed at that time, this something Community Tax should have known better before making an offer to IRS for an installment agreement, RIGHT??? IRS moved forward to file a LIEN on DEC 29, 2017 and by February 2018 it was already being reported by the credit bureaus. I had two different practitioners assigned to the case in 2018 to appeal the decision for the LIEN, not of them were able to resolve this matter.
Only until May 2018 and by my own initiative I was able to negotiate directly with IRS a new installment agreement and get instructions for the LIEN removal. NEVER WILL HIRE COMMUNITY TAX TO LOOK AFTER MY TAXES NEITHER SHOULD YOU: They are a bunch of incompetent lousy accountants who are only after your money and don't care if you get screwed by the IRS in the process. In their service agreement you waive your right to file lawsuit against them and if you want to file a claim you need to get an arbitrator lawyer and await decision by the arbitrator.

We worked on a tax relief with Community Tax and it was very good. We’re very happy and satisfied with everything. The enrollment was great and so was my agent, Meagan. She would contact us when we needed to know anything and she returned our calls when we needed some questions answered. Paula then took over when Meagan went on maternity leave, and Paula and the tax preparer were also great. I know it takes time, but we got calls every time about what was going on, and everything was good. Then on the payment plan, they settled on a $50 figure, which was absolutely wonderful. It’s not like we had to pay it all at once. They also worked with us on that.

Community Tax's enrollment process for tax relief was not bad. The gentleman I talked to at first was a nice guy and we were able to work out an agreement. But there was not one agent all the way through. I dealt with too many and there were times when we didn’t communicate properly. The payment plan was tough and a little stiff for my income, but I got my federal completed. I’m happy.

Community Tax was referred to me by somebody, and I was pretty disappointed because they were spoken pretty highly of. I wasn't very satisfied with them. I paid $300 to get my 2017 taxes fixed which they never did. I never got my returns for them and they got returned. So, I spent $300 for no reason 'cause I have to file them again anyway. And it took weeks upon weeks to speak to someone in regards to my taxes. I was going through so many hoops for very little to no result. I called multiple times, sent emails. I had to leave a nasty comment on their page for someone to get up with me.
I also got some of the worst customer service I've ever gotten. It was fairly difficult just getting it situated to my situation, speaking to Community Tax and trying to get them to understand the fact that it wasn't a complex situation. It was just more difficult because I didn't have access to the actual physical copies of my previous taxes. All they really had to do was request it from the IRS and then file my taxes for me, and it took months. The guy filed an extension for me through the IRS 'till the 15th of this month, and I still haven't even had time to file. I was gonna try and file with them, but because of the hassle I had to go through and the money I spent versus service fees, it was a waste of money.

If there is anything TurboTax can't handle, they are lost and have no clue what to do. However, they hide their lack of expertise and drop you at the last moment, leaving you little time to meet deadlines. Don't trust them!

Community Tax is easy to get a hold of, for one year this team worked on getting a resolution. After one year a resolution was granted. Tax debt was forgiven but leans remained active until they mature.

My daughter's financial aide was selected for income verification. My wife had been hospitalized and had lived in skilled level nursing facilities for all of 2016, 2017 & 2018. Subsequently, she filed no return, and I had filed as head of the household. However, we learned she needed to file. The school was requesting the tax return for 2017, and it was necessary to have this resolved ASAP. Maria ** at Community Tax was very helpful in getting this accomplished. We set up a conference call where a plan and strategy was put in place. Maria requested information for the preparer of the return. She was extremely professional and polite as the task was accomplished in a reasonable amount of time. The cost was somewhat high, but we had no other choice at the time. Also, the cost was something Maria had little control over. In my opinion, Maria is an exceptional employee, who would be an asset as a member to any organization.

I went with a group some years back when I had some debt, but I didn’t really like the work from that group. So I searched and went with Community Tax. Their reps were very helpful, but I wasn’t sure about it at first because there were a lot of different representatives that were calling me. They should keep a more personal relationship because when there was always somebody new, I felt like I had to bring them up to par of what was going on with me personally. But as time went on, I started hearing more and more from one case manager in particular, Ryan. Some of his assistants that were working on it with him were starting to reach out to me so it was a challenge. The longevity of the case was getting a little irritating and frustrating. They should move along a little faster. But other than that, the experience was great. It took a while but they got me my results in the end, a resolution on my tax bills.

I looked at different companies, and I decided to go with Community Tax considering their reviews. I was impressed. They really worked with me. The latest agent was really good, but I wasn't impressed with the first couple that I had. I didn't like them. They weren't receptive to me. They told me that my case was gonna be hard. I'm like, "What is gonna be hard? I don't have anything. I live off my retirement to survive."
The latest agent, Tracy, was really receptive. She let me know of everything. When I needed stuff done, I sent it to her, and she sent it to the IRS. She was listening to me and she would do what I ask her. She would also call me back and answer my emails. The first two that I dealt with there, I didn't even hear from them for days. I would send them what I got from the IRS and ask what I needed to do but I did not get a word. Tracy and who she was working with were very good.
It took a few years to get through all this. It took them three times to send something in, but they were persistent on it. And the last time, they were really more up to taking care of it than the first two. They worked on the payment plan with me, and that worked out really well when I first did it. In the end, the compromise did go through.

I like being able to see all the people online, their employees and who runs it. I signed up with Community Tax and everything has been great. Enrolling with them was very easy and I was really pleased with them. They would send me a text every week or so just telling me my case was still in review. It’s just a simple thing but it kept me from worrying about it. A little update on what they kept doing was really nice. In the end, my case was resolved and it worked out well for me. The cost of their service was a little higher than some of the other options, but I felt more comfortable using them. It was worth it for me.

I saw Community Tax on TV and when I reached out to them, they were very helpful. The enrollment process was very good. It was time-consuming since it took almost two years, but it was okay. I had very good support. The agent did all she could do when I had any questions to ask and tried to resolve it as much as she could. She kept me pretty well at peace. When setting up my payment plan, Community Tax did a perfect 10 and they made sure that I was comfortable with the payment. They took it out of my checking account and it was electronic. They provided a very good service to me. They addressed the situation and when I left a message, they called me back. I don’t have any more stress and I recommended Community Tax.

I had years of not filing taxes. I went with another company first, but they didn’t help me like Community Tax did. I had more communication with Community Tax and they were way different than the other one. They told me everything and went through ever detail with me, like what would and wouldn't happen. Thanks to God, everything went well. Also, the payment plan they set up was good and very comfortable. I've already completed the program and now, I’m more relaxed. I just need to do my half. Hopefully my job will get picked up a little bit more so I could pay the taxes.

I owed many years of taxes. I found Community Tax on the radio and I decided to sign up with them. I liked everything and they did exactly what I expected from them, which was the most important thing. They also kept good touch and the agents I worked with were very helpful. I gave them cash to take care of my problem, and they're pending clearance with the IRS. They also worked out a payment plan that's affordable for me and I’m gonna start making my monthly payments this coming month. I sent off the papers and they’re gonna be doing automatic withdrawal every month. I’m happy with them so far. I don't want the IRS to get too deep into my business, I didn't have to pull down my pants and show them everything, and Community Tax was able to make a deal.

Everything was completed about three months ago. They submit everything they told me to do. The reps were friendly and professional, and they were on time. The follow-ups were wonderful. Tesla was on top of it, and she did a great job. The payment plan was pretty much enough for me paying. Community Tax resolved the issue with the IRS. I'm very happy with them, and I have recommended them to another friend.

I had a good experience with the reps at Community Tax. They told me everything that I wanted to hear. I had a tax issue, and Community Tax was gonna get it squared away. The plan they set up for me was great. I paid the payments all at once. However, their service was the worst that I could ever have had in my life. First of all, they did nothing that they said they were gonna do. Right now, I still have the tax issue that I had when I turned it over to them and paid my money.
They came out with a proposal from the IRS of a settlement. I wasn’t satisfied with that, and so, they supposedly resubmitted, renegotiated, and that was the end of that. So, they hung me along. And then, I found out they closed my account without telling me. After a certain length of time, I’m starting to ask them about it because of the time limit, and still, I’m getting threats from the IRS. I’m getting letters. I’m even sending them the letters that I’m getting from the IRS.
I was talking to one of the agents and she said, “Well, you need to send this in.” I sent it in. “And you need to send this document in, send 2017 and 2018, and we’re gonna get you squared away.” So, this goes on and on. So, after all that, I got another letter from the IRS saying that they're going to seize my property and bank account. And so, I called Community Tax again, and I couldn't talk to anyone. I left a message. Someone did call me back, and it was supposed to be the guy that was over the case. He called me and said, “Well, your account is closed. We spent enough time on your account, and we need some more money.”
I asked why they closed my case and never told me. I don't know when the case was closed. He never did give me a date on when he closed it. To me, it seemed like it was maybe close to a year ago. And so, I was thinking they were working on it, and they kept telling me to send all these documents. So, I was sending out everything they asked for. And then, when I confronted about it, they said they didn't receive it. But I got emails saying that they did receive it.
I found out about three weeks ago that they had stopped working on my account. I asked them for my money back, and in so many words, he said, “No.” And so, I asked him to talk to his supervisor. He said he was a supervisor. There was nobody else I could talk to. He said that he was a supervisor, and he was the highest, and I couldn't go no further than him. I’m totally dissatisfied. Now, I gotta try to hire someone else to take care of this issue that I paid almost $8000 for. I absolutely got nothing. And they hung me around for about three years.

I started with Community Tax a couple of years ago, when I was desperate to try to figure out what to do to get myself together with my taxes. My husband had passed away and I was kinda nuts for a few years. And I heard a commercial on the radio on my way home about Community Tax, and I called and my first contact was with a man named Bruce. Things just progressed, and he helped me. He was kind. There was a sweet lady who helped me get signed up and really watched my thing and let me know if there’s anything going on. They’re all wonderful people that were involved in my case. They walked me through everything. The only thing that I had that could possibly be considered negative is I had believed that it would take care of both my federal and my state tax issue, and, as it ended up, it was just my federal.
I asked Bruce 20 times that it would take care of my state and federal. But we’ve worked through that and I’m currently handling my state with my congressmen, getting it all done, but they definitely relieved all my fears. They held my hand and got me through each phase and kept me updated as it went on. I couldn’t be any more happy.
Also, the payment plan they set out for me worked in my budget. I’m on a fixed income, so I just couldn’t afford to pay my bills and pay a big thing, which was the one thing that kept me from trying to take care of it sooner than I did. I was scared. And they definitely held my hand and walked me through it. I have already recommended Community Tax to friends.

Community Tax took our tax situation and they really got a nice outcome for us, which was really nice. Sometimes their secondary approach doesn’t always hit. I had back taxes for tax seasons 2013 to 2017, and they managed to get the IRS to declare that period uncollectible due to some input my wife and I gave them about our assets, which was fine. So, the IRS wrote off 2013 to 2017 as uncollectible. Before they made that decision though I told them that I gotta get my 2018 tax dealt with here. They told me that for an extra 1,000 bucks, they would add 2018 to the 2013 to 2017. That was fine with me, so I paid the $1,000 and now it was 2013 to 2018.
I got notified by Community Tax that everything worked out, and that the IRS deemed it all non-collectible. They usually put you into a category where you still owe it but as long as your assets don’t change for the period of up to five years, it’ll be uncollectible unless I get a lot more money. But I’m under social security now so that’s not possible. So I was really happy with the outcome.
I then get a letter from the IRS saying that it’s been deemed uncollectible. I took a detailed look at the letter and it said, “Your taxes from 2015 to 2017 have been deemed uncollectible.” But what happened to 2013 and 2014 and 2018? I paid the extra 1,000 to have it put in there. So the next day, I wrote an email to Community Tax after I got a letter, saying that I liked the fact that they got 2015 to 2017 as uncollectible, but what happened to 2013, 2014 and 2018? I submitted that to my tax liaison at Community Tax and she said she was forwarding it to the person who has been assigned to my account now.
Two weeks gone by and I don’t hear anything. Part of it was because I was doing a bunch of work outside Chicago so I couldn’t really deal with it, but when I got back, I noticed that I haven’t heard from them. So, I sent them another email inquiry telling my tax liaison that we did this two weeks ago and she said she was submitting it, but I haven’t heard a thing from this person. She apologized and told me that she was talking to them directly and that they would get back to me. He also gave me the name of the person, but to this day, I still haven’t heard what happened to 2013, 2014 and 2018. It has been about six weeks.
The person who is supposed to have been assigned to my account hasn’t even sent me anything. No email, no attempted phone call, nothing. It’s almost like Community Tax got the IRS to deem 2015 to 2017 uncollectible. I know that 2013, 2014 all the way to 2018 was submitted to the IRS, but now, 2013, 2014, 2018 are in limbo somewhere. I don’t know what’s going on and I don’t wanna be contacted several years down the road saying that I owe this money for 2013, 2014 and 2018. Overall, I’m happy for what Community Tax did, but they lack follow up on my questions.

I sought help from Community Tax for tax issues. They worked out a plan for me and they had provided a very high level of comfort. I felt that they really handled me with concern and compassion. They gave me the confidence that they were gonna handle things correctly and everything was gonna be taken care of. Furthermore, they followed through so I was very happy about that. They kept me updated on what was going on or what was gonna be needed for tax prep. It was great to have someone that provides really great customer service. It has been worth every dollar. Community Tax representatives were very thorough with resolving my tax debts. They kept me updated at all times. The only surprise to me (or maybe I misunderstood), was they do not negotiate with the state tax unless another fee is paid. I did not know this.

They charged me $15,000 and what did they do???? They claimed they settled w/ IRS as uncollectable then shortly thereafter the IRS put liens on my home and property. I don't know they did anything as far as solving my problem.

At first I was reluctant to respond to a television commercial for tax help, because sometimes infomercials promise you everything and delivers nothing. But in this case everything Community Tax said they would do they delivered. I was married at the time and in a big tax debt and called Community Tax and they assigned us to Derek ** who worked with us and through his painstakingly task he was able to eliminate over $42,000 in tax liability. When Derek ** stated he will be able to help us, he delivered. And I recommend that you ask for Derek **. Although every one I talked to at the company were very accommodating and pleasant, but he was the one I dealt with the most. Again, I highly recommend this company and this representative in spite of my bias towards his delivery of service.

My experience started out very well initially. I paid my fee. We negotiated a settlement. I paid the settlement off. Case closed. But then I started receiving "adjustments, significant adjustments" from the IRS for the tax years we had already "negotiated." I mailed 100% of everything I received to Community Tax but it was never clear to me who held my primary client relationship but when I called to follow up the staff seemed uncooperative and definitely uninformative and I have since nearly given up on the matter but instead of praising Community Tax and giving them referrals like we started out now I rate them 2 out of 5 stars and refer no one to them. So they have lost far more than I have at this point. I have a lot of friends. Feel free to contact me anytime to discuss.

I had to submit my data multiple times and updated data since my proposals were other delayed or submitted too late and we had to start over again. It took over 2 years to get it resolved, seemed like it should be better streamlined. By the time it was resolved my property value was deemed to be good enough for not meeting the hardship criteria.

Although it took four years to resolve my tax issues and penalties problem, they never stopped working on my case until we achieved our resolution and kept us protected from harassment of the IRS. I liked Community Tax' kindness and friendliness. It seemed like they cared more about their customers. For the enrollment process, there's a certain amount of money down and they work with you on it. The process then gets started. I’m going through the process with them and right now, everything’s going fine. I talked with their reps three times and they've been good. They’ve taken care of everything else. I had problems with my 2015, 16, 17 tax returns. They were able to correct it and get me filed and worked out a better payment plan for me. I will be using them again to file this year because I had to sell my home early. This could be a tax issue so I will go to the pros.

Community Tax provided me tax relief service and although it took a long time it was awesome. I accumulated a bunch of credit a year ago and it took them a while to get it all settled. But I was very pleased with the outcome and their service. I'm not stressed out over all the stuff IRS was doing. And they got me a settlement that I didn't have to pay all of what I owed. I'm happy. Everything worked out great. I recommend Community Tax all the time to a lot of people. I am actually probably gonna call them back and try to do the tax thing with them since I just started a new job right when they were settling everything.

I owed a certain amount with the IRS. The reps at Community Tax were all pretty good about how they did the enrollment process and keeping communication with me. Everything got completed, and they all kept me updated on everything. My payment was $580 a month, and that’s more than a car payment. It is high and I have no job, so they could have at least break that down for me. It would’ve been 100% awesome if they would’ve cut that payment in half, even if it was for a whole year that I had to pay. But I did it and it’s done. All of my back taxes were wiped out. Community Tax did everything the way it should’ve been done.

We originally hired Community Tax to help us with our IRS tax problems. It took at least three or so years for Community Tax to fully resolved our difficult and what seemed to be impossible situation. Their tax experts were able to obtain the almost perfect resolution for us. And, yes, we were asked to submit a lot of pertinent information necessary for our case. They worked side by side with us, and the process was tedious, and slow on the part of the IRS. No one can rush the IRS! Community Tax have very wonderful people on their staff. They were always answering my questions, as we were in desperate need to get our case resolved in our favor. We had some ups and downs during the process, but; Community Tax had experts who would work with the IRS "experts", and that's not an easy task!
We want to recommend Community Tax to anyone who is going through an IRS problem, and is desperate to get the help they need! Community Tax was easy to work with. Very competent case advocates, knowledgeable, approachable, even when we didn't see "a light at the end of the tunnel". We are amazed with the results obtained from the IRS!! I liked the demeanor of the Community Tax people who were talking to me. I first started out with H&R Block, and the demeanor of the woman that I was working with put me in a panic, because everything was so negative. But these people from Community Tax would help me without all the emotion, and that was what I needed. They didn't try to agitate me in any way. They were very supportive of me and my situation. I'm always prone to try to stick my head in the sand and not deal with it. And they stayed on top of it with me. They had me do some DocuSign, pay them, and we started rolling. They didn't try to scare me about my situation. The whole time they told me, "We're just gonna help you get through this and get you back into compliance." And that's what they did. So it was a good relationship with them.
I've completed the program with them. It wasn't the cheapest program in the world, but they got me to where I needed to be. So if someone else was in my situation, I would recommend them. I'm on my payment schedule now with the IRS. Everything's set up. Community Tax offered to assist me if I have any questions or if I need help with anything.

The enrollment process with Community Tax was pretty easy and straightforward. It was all over the phone, faxing and emailing stuff. They have already completed my offer in compromise. But it took twice as long. They missed my deadline the first time and I was pretty upset about that. One of the practitioners there said that the system went down and he missed the deadline to put in my resolution. It took over four years for this to come to an end and complete it. We started over and they did everything. They already had all my documents. They used to call and say they were working on it. I understood a lot of it had to do with the IRS. They took their time. In the end, I came out with a positive result and that was all that I wanted. I’m pretty happy. Community Tax did a pretty good job. It's just every time you call, you have to explain yourself over and over. They should allow you to be in touch with one person who knows exactly what is going on.

Enrolling with Community Tax was easy. I called and talked to their reps and they told me their process. They kept in contact with me at all times on what I needed to do and the procedures that were coming up and what papers and documents I needed to send to them. That was really nice. I got Community Tax to do tax debt relief for me. However, I'm disappointed that they sold the loan to another company which I haven't been pleased with. I wasn't told that. At the time, I was paying tax relief for X amount of money supposedly for two years. The other finance company extended it for three more years. If I would've known they were gonna sell the loan that I'm paying them, I never would have done this because if I would've continued paying Community Tax like I was supposed to, my fee would have been paid by December of '19. The other company reduced the payment by $25. Also, the sale wasn't negotiated with me. Community Tax automatically did it and I hate them for that. I wouldn't refer anybody else to Community Tax again.
We are very sorry for any frustration that resulted from the financing process. We strive to make our services affordable and accessible to the public at large. We will definitely reach out to you today, to see if there is anything we can do to remedy this situation.

I saw Community Tax on a commercial on TV and they provided the tax relief program for me. They got my resolution pretty fast and they did a great job. I didn't have enough money, so they worked out the loan for me and I’m just making payments. They got my lender for me and made it easy to fill out the application. It was all online.

I talked to an initial salesman with Community Tax and I liked what he was telling me. That’s why I decided to go with them but the experience was so-so. It took too long to process through, although I know the government was shut down there for a period so that had an impact on it. In the beginning, we were dealing with a lady then a man took over for her then John took over for him. He was the last person we wound up with that kinda kept in constant communication. So there were three different people in the process of it. Then Peter was the final guy that I was speaking with, on and off. I spoke with him yesterday and he called me back. I made appointment and he called me yesterday so I’m good with that.
The thing that aggravated me was that at the end of the process, when I thought we had filed this and I’ve paid the money upfront and we were gonna do the settlement offer, nobody, not even Peter, bothered to tell me that they would take my son's 2018 tax return when it came up. I thought this would be a separate issue since we had filed a settlement but that was not true. Then I’m also being told that when Marshall files for his 2019 in 2020, Community Tax is probably gonna keep that too. That statement should have been made upfront before we started talking. Plus even though we made the settlement, they are taking 2019 and they’re not gonna subtract that from the balance that my son owed. That's one thing I don’t understand and Peter couldn't answer me either. He said that's just what they do.
I paid half upfront and then I'm paying the other half the next month. And when I add up what I paid Community Tax, what Marshall lost for his 2018 plus what’s he’s gonna lose for his 2019, it gets me real close to the amount of money if I just paid the IRS on the front side. Then Marshall wouldn’t have lost his 2018 return and he wouldn’t lose his 2019 return. If my son had owed a larger chunk of money, then it definitely would have been worth it. But as it is, it wouldn’t have been that much more money had I gone a different way and I wouldn’t have had to compensate for Marshall for his 2018 or his 2019.

Considering the ease of working with Community Tax, as far as getting information to them and their electronic retrieval of account information, we chose to have them for our accounting and tax preparation. We enrolled several years ago and our experience was daunting because we had to get our bank involved. We wanted automated account information retrieval so the accountants at Community Tax could get our banking information without us having to either upload or send them a file. They were able to make it easier. They even came up with a custom way to get information from our point of sale system, which the accountant that we were using before wasn’t able to do. The process took a little longer, but in the end, Community Tax got the job done.
Now, I don’t have to do my accounting or taxes anymore. Also, I don't have to spend hours looking through receipts and asking my wife what something she bought six months ago was for. And for the small business that we have, the service is ideally priced for what they provide for us. We changed agents, though. We only used the one we started with for a couple of months. We had a communication issue with him, so they changed our accountant. I'm very comfortable with my agent now. I could call our new accountant and ask him anything. He always answers us then and I like that. Plus, he's available on the phone instead of just through email.

Community Tax was advertised at the time that they had IRS personnel that worked for them, and they would be able to guarantee no audits. They did my tax resolution, and they also did my actual taxes. The enrollment process was easy. It just took me one step over the phone. Community Tax ended up getting my stuff done. And that was something I needed. Right now, I’ve been waiting for a callback. I need to know if they resolved my new fee with IRS. I actually called, left about three voicemails about a week ago, and I haven't heard from him anywhere yet. I've been working with Leticia, Ashley, Amir, Dennis and Derrick. Amir and Dennis seemed to be overly thorough. They spent a lot of time talking to me on the phone. With the exception of me waiting for a callback from Ashley for a week and some change, everyone’s been efficient.
In the beginning, Ashley was great. But right now, my correspondence with him is contingent on me purchasing a home right now. I left him so many voicemails that went unanswered. I even questioned if he’s still even employed with the company. Maybe he’s on vacation or maybe he’s not employed. That’s how long I’ve been waiting for him to call me back, and that’s how many voicemails I’ve left him. And so, what happened was I paid the company about $2,000 for that portion, and I took the day off so I can call the IRS myself. And I redid everything that he did for me and more because I didn’t hear back from him. Other than that, working with Community Tax has been good. Since enrolling with them, it seems like I may have a go-to for these types of situations.

We got to a point where we cannot afford the taxes because my husband lost a lot of his client. He was self-employed and I’m working. Community Tax has been very helpful to us. After seeing Community Tax, I contacted them. They called me back. So, I asked what they do, how they're gonna help us, and their guy explained to me. But then my husband researched them and he said, “Oh, okay. This is like a good company because they’re on that BBB."
Community Tax is a good company. They’re very nice people. Until now, they handle our taxes. They prepare our taxes and tax relief, they offer their service, and they monitor. They did everything, and they’re really good. I already recommended them to people that needed help with their taxes. At first, when I looked at it, it was a big cash-in. And I thought we couldn’t afford it. They then run through us on what we do and then their fee was reasonable, so we make payment to them to pay the things. It was really helpful. It was not like some company that ask for their price right up in the front. Community Tax said, “Okay. Just tell us how much you can afford every month to pay their prices.” So, that’s what I did. They take out 600 every time, at a time on my check, and then I get to pocket a little.
The Community Tax reps are all nice. The first guy I dealt with was the one that helped us the most to get the thing done with one of the lawyers and he helped out set up our account. And when they told us about their price, and we told them we don’t have the money, he said, “Don’t worry. We can make payment.” So, every month they tell us how much it’s gonna cost, we can make payment, and they’re even preparing our tax. The quality of their service is very nice. They call us every month and if we have any questions, they explain to us. So, they always check up on us every month. The money that we pay is worth it because we don’t have to worry with the IRS.

Community Tax saved my life. I was about to go crazy and I didn’t know what to do, and then their program solved my problem. I threw a number out to them and they worked with the state of Wisconsin to try to get them to agree to that. The state didn’t agree, but Community Tax worked with the state to come up with a number that I could manage. And so far, I’ve made three payments to the state. Enrollment was very easy, too. I've worked with John and Paula, and Paula did a wonderful job of helping me. We’re several hundred miles apart, and we did everything over the computer or the phone. I was very satisfied with my interaction with them and I feel very comfortable about this process. Community Tax is very competent and their service was wonderful, and so was my experience with them.

I had some serious problems with my tax debt. So, I contacted Community Tax. My experience was fantastic and overall, they were great. So I'm glad that I contacted them. I worked with two ladies. I worked with the main person who was great. She seemed to care. And then there was somebody who was the go-to person. And she was a great help, too. They were understanding and patient.
Community Tax took $147 a week until the fee was paid. I worked my ** off to pay it. But they negotiated a really good deal. I had to forfeit my tax return this year. I had to take care of some matters, but I was able to do everything they asked me to do. And the matter was all resolved. It's such a relief. I have completed the program and I got my letter and everything at home. They kept $4,000 on my taxes this year but that was in the agreement and that was okay. It really made a big difference in my life.
I'm glad I chose to be with Community Tax. This gave me a whole new leaf on life. Right around the time I started working with them, I just gotten a new job. I had a business, and I had it for a while. It failed. A lot of them was back taxes from that. But once I made the agreement for Community Tax to handle it and for me to make the payments, it was worth every nickel because they did everything they said they were gonna do.

I needed to fix my problems for the IRS and I felt that Community Tax was very good for the other ones. They provided the service for doing my taxes and for my attorneys. The services were very good. If we have any problem and we have any question, we just call in and they answer them. However, the customer service is sometimes not good. When I call Community Tax and tell them I need to speak to my agent, they say they can't help me and send me to the different department to different agents. And I would ask a question, and they'd say I'd need to talk to my agent.

I got tired of the IRS having control over me. I got family that works for the IRS in Virginia, and I'm not their enemy at all. They're wearing a uniform, they got a job to do, and they're part of our country, but they're a royal pain in the butt. I wanted to get rid of that irritation. The IRS let me off the hook easily which is really unbelievable, and Community Tax was the one who did it. They helped me get straight with the IRS. They helped me be legal. There's no cost they could charge me that’s not worth it.
Dealing with Community Tax was the easiest thing I've ever done. They did all the work. I just provided documents that I could find. The agents I worked with were down to earth. The lawyers and everybody were as polite as they could be. They’ve done better than a lot of people, and I've recommended them every opportunity I could. Community Tax has got my heart. I had some tax problems and among the companies I considered, Community Tax was the one being the most honest with me. They were upfront and didn't try to blow smoke by saying they would get me this and that. The program they provided me was a bit sketchy at first because I thought I was paying for everything. After the tax situation and we started doing taxes with them I thought everything was taken care of on a fee that they were pulling out every month. It turned out that it wasn't. Still, it's understandable.
Working with their agents was really simple. They would make me very aware of what's going on and get with me when I call. Also, they answer any questions I have. If they can’t answer them, they get with somebody or they pass me through to somebody who knows the answer. I couldn't ask for anything better with the way they stand behind me on anything. If something comes up with the IRS, they will have my back. It's so comforting to know that.

My wife heard about Community Tax and she got us started with them. However, they got kind of confused. The enrollment process was pretty tricky. It seemed as though they didn’t have all the information together from time to time. And we had to repeat some of the information for them to get it all going. Some of the information was crossed up somehow. I don’t know if they were getting confirmation back from the IRS or not.
The things that I didn’t like about them is you get different tax agents. You didn’t get the same one all the time. My wife and I talked to two different people and the debt that I did have, they didn’t pass all of our information. Sometimes, they would have the right stuff, and sometimes, they wouldn’t. What we also found out was we didn't owe some of those taxes. And they had to do the research. They really did the best that they could but maybe they could beef up their research department a little bit more. The cost was also a little high compared to the service at the time because we ended up still having to work out some of the deals with the IRS. And that was what they were supposed to do. But they were pretty honest. They took their time to work with us and they had a great payment plan. It was a good experience.

I was looking for help in settling my tax debt when I came across Community Tax. I was contacted soon after inputting my info by a gentleman that pretty much lied to me from the start. I was told he could get me a compromise and possibly a refund. I was told if they can't save me any money then I would receive a full refund. After about 2 months I finally hear back, but it wasn't for a compromise. It was for a non-collection status. So I just added 25% to my total debt to just ensure the IRS won't put me in the collection? I told them what I was told and that I was only told about a compromise and wanted my money back.
I tried calling the gentlemen that I first spoke to with no luck, but after an email, to him, he called me and told me I was right and that we talked about the compromise and my account would be pushed to the front of the line. About a week later I get a call from the lawyer informing me I wouldn't get a compromise due to me having disposable income. I again said I would like a refund and he said I will be getting a call from a resolution specialist to take care of that. I had to call back almost a week later and ask about my refund and again was told I would be called later that day by the RS.
Two days later I was finally called by the RS who informed me that I would only be getting a partial refund because they could help me but I was refusing the other service of non-collection. I told him what the first guy told me about the compromise and the RS had to go back and listen to the calls. After a day or two the RS called me back and send yes, "You were right" but his manager would like to see my pay stubs to see in he could help me, and to no surprise, he could. I was told I couldn't be helped and now all of a sudden I can? So far I've paid 1652, the first 500 was for them the investigate my tax returns. Was told I would get that back if they can't help me, they lied. They charge 275 to do a simple tax return. Can't get that back.
DO NOT GO WITH THIS PLACE. They are only telling me they can help me because they know I was told I would get all my money back if I could not be saved any money, now that they are saying they can do the compromise I have to pay almost 1100 to see just how much I could be saved plus lose both this year and next years tax returns. I could of put the 3200 towards the IRS debt and with this year's tax return cut the IRS debt in half but thanks to CTS I have even more debt.

I had faith that I was leaving my information in good hands to file my tax return for 2016 and 2018. This was on April 2, 2019, I was told I gave everything they needed on that day as well as a week later when I spoke with the so called preparation agent. So, it’s been almost a month and I have been calling for the last few weeks asking about the “status”, I cannot reach this preparer nor can I get any answers as to when the taxes will be filed with the IRS. The agents that I end up talking to end up asking me questions as if I know what’s going on, I’m calling for answers and information.
This is a shame a company like this would take this long to actually file the return or answer questions regarding when they will be filed. One of the agents was reading me someone else’s tax information when I called, I stated that’s not my information and she stated "Oh, sorry. This is someone else and can I hold the line" while she look for my information. I had already provided my details when she first came on the line. I would never do business again with this place. I was assured when I enrolled that everything will be taken care of in a timely manner. I am waiting around with hopes to hear something soon, as I feel I’d never get answers by calling them. I paid a total of $550, almost a month ago. Waiting and waiting on them to finally get to my filing my taxes so I can have that peace of mind. As we know the deadline has come and gone. I have no idea why it would take them a month or so to file a tax return at a tax place anyhow.

I had been doing my taxes with H&R Block for many years, but the guy doing my taxes suddenly passed away. I had some problems with my back taxes and I was told by a friend of ours that they used Community Tax in the past. I went with his recommendation and have been using them for tax preparation for several years. The enrollment process was very nice and good. I talked to several people there and it took them a week to get everything up and running.
The agent who worked with me was very good. He stayed on top of things for me. If he had things he had to do for me, didn’t have the answer or was tied up on a line, he got back to me within a day. I paid Community Tax, but I also had to pay IRS $4,000. We had a lot of medical expenses because we're both seniors. I'm also not working because I'm on total disability, but my wife works. So why aren't more taxes taken out?

I got a lot of notices from the IRS, and I decided I needed help. Community Tax seems well-reviewed and they said that the help they could give me was better than the others. Their enrollment process wasn’t too bad, although the initial fee was a little difficult. The service that Community Tax gave to me was very good. They kept in contact, and we shared all the necessary documents. I sent them the information and they did everything else for me. There were several agents who contacted me, and it was easy to get back to contact them. If I had any questions or concerns, their response was pretty immediate and they all worked fast. The agents seem like they cared about me getting back to normal with my taxes. They offered me installments, but I just paid it all one time. The cost was a little steeper than I would have enjoyed, but now l’m all caught up and done with their program. I don’t have to worry about my taxes for a while.

I was originally gonna go with Optima as they were the highest rated, but they wanted $10,000 to resolve it. And I told them that was too much money. When I found Community Tax, they were $7,900. They were much cheaper. Community Tax did my income tax, as well as they negotiated the settlement. The enrollment process was fine. We did everything with several phone calls, and some paperwork, and faxing over back and forth.
While I wish the program could have worked a bit better, my scenario was different than most people. And it's in the process you have to do. You have to send a lot of information to them. And then they just try to resolve the issue that you have as far as the dollar amount. It was ongoing, “I need this. I need that,” and then they would appeal stuff with the IRS and try to negotiate a deal.
I had worked with several agents and it was difficult sometimes to get a hold of somebody. I'd send them a text or email, and sometimes it would take a few days for them to get back. Towards the end though, it was much better as far as communication and I was already getting comfortable. I worked with the girl whose name is Erika and she was helpful. I also worked with the guy who negotiated everything for me. In the end, Community Tax signed an agreement with the IRS and they did a fair job.

When I called Community Tax for the first time, I talked to an agent named Nick. He is a great guy and I went with Community Tax because of him. He was very patient and he answered every question I had. I am a new resident in the country and Nick explained the whole process to me like what I needed to do and how he was gonna have it done for me. Also, he follows up and emails me all the time. I’m comfortable working with Nick. I’m still doing business with Community Tax and I pay my monthly every month. The cost is not cheap, but I like the service that Nick did.

I listened to a professional on one of the programs I listen to in the afternoon and because my issues with the IRS, I thought it best to get somebody to represent and help me with that. When I first called Community Tax, the rep I talked to had been pleasant and positive. Community Tax then sent a power of attorney for me to sign so I could get the process to work with me. With them, I pay so much monthly paycheck to paycheck, which is good, as the other ones don't have that program. It also seemed affordable to somehow have a single debt to pay as it's very difficult for me to juggle things. So, on that issue of being able to sleep at night and someone is handling your problems, Community Tax's service is pretty good.
They also have good communication with their clients and the financial advisor that I worked with impressed me the most. He was really easy to work with. I had to skip a month because of hardship and when I told him about my situation, he was really flexible. I was able to offset one of the payments and he made the payment schedule affordable and easy. Whenever I get some paperwork I send it over to Community Tax to let them work on it and then they forward it down. They're in the process of getting their negotiation taken to see what they could come up with and at this point, we're unresolved on the matter. But so far, my experience with them has been good.

I had an outstanding tax bill and I went over to Community Tax as they seemed more transparent than other companies. I talked to three different people and the final person assured me that even though they didn't guarantee an offer of a compromise would be accepted, they would do everything in their power to make that happen. One of the guys I spoke with was Ryan. I was impressed that he followed through, that if he said he's gonna call, he'd call.
However, I didn't like the company Community Tax used for my payment plan. LendingUSA is charging me almost 100% to get the work done with $5,000 and $400 for the processing fee. So, out of $5,400, I'm paying almost $9,800 back to them, which is ridiculous. In addition to that, I have no say over who I could get to finance the services. I wouldn't have gone with LendingUSA knowing I'd had to pay almost 100% back. Still, the IRS accepted the offer of compromise and even though it took some back and forth to get it worked out, it worked out and I'm already completed at this point.

I was quoted prices twice by a salesperson for the matters that had to be handled -- corporate, personal, and negotiations with the IRS for some previous unpaid taxes. I answered all the questions and she said she had all the information she needed. The first price was really reasonable, the second price less so but I agreed to that and sent a deposit. I had an appointment with a tax adjuster and she had no idea what I needed. Then another person in Resolutions called me to say that everything was misquoted and they had to sort the proposal -- the cost and what was required. He assured me that he would get everything sorted out.
Called me back after a couple of days and told me pricing that was double what I was first quoted and also said that they could not negotiate with the IRS and would have to pay the original amount due. The pricing for their work was $1000 for a corporate tax return, $750 for business investigation(?), simple personal tax return $525.00. The amount grew from the original $1150 to a "starting, initial" amount of $1950.00. I told the gentleman that I felt very disappointed in their company's tactics and would like my deposit back. He said that the initial agent had made mistakes. No apology and no culpability or responsibility for taking all of this time and then tell me the overwhelming expense on tax day itself.

I received a letter from the IRS stating that I owe them a couple of thousands of dollars. I started looking for help. Every year I was filing my taxes, they were taking my taxes, so I needed to get a hold of the situation. I did some research on Community Tax and made a phone call. I ended up enrolling in the program that day. They were able to settle my tax debt.
Danielle of Community Tax was very helpful to me. I came up with a set amount that I would be able to pay them monthly, and I set it up where they automatically just pull the money out of my account monthly, so I didn’t have to deal with it. They kept me informed of everything that was going on. Every two months or every 60 days, I would get a phone call from Danielle basically giving me update as well. The last phone call that I received from her, she stated that my case was closed. I was like, “Closed?” She was like, “Yeah, we did it. It’s closed.” She asked, “How much you think we were able to settle for?” And I’m thinking it was gonna be a couple of thousands of dollars. When she said $100, I said, “You need to say that number again.” I was very pleased and happy with the service.
I was worried about certain things I wanted to purchase and if the IRS was gonna come in and just take everything. So after I started reading and getting familiar with some of the legal terminology everything was in a holding pattern. I wanted to buy a truck, and I said, “I’m not gonna buy a truck until after everything is settled.” So I’m going this weekend to purchase myself a truck. Community Tax relieved a lot of stress off of me.

Community Tax advertised and I went with them. Though I had to fill out a few things, the enrollment process was not too difficult. They're now working on my tax case in Chicago. I have already paid them out, and they’re doing a good job. They’re also working with IRS, and they’re able to get us some benefits from it. The last time I went through the program, there was some amount that I needed to pay the IRS. But I somehow got mixed up and forgot to ask them about our lost paperwork. It was a small amount that they were asking for, and we just started, so we had to start it fresh. When we first started it last year, I got them paid off and still working between them and IRS. They’ll take 2018 taxes, and then we’ll start getting it back, but we have to make sure we file before or on time within the next five years. Overall, I would recommend Community Tax to a friend.

When I was in San Diego an old man told me that I didn't have to pay the taxes until every three years. I listened to him and by the time I reached the fourth year, the IRS said that that was only if they owed me, but if I owed them, I gotta pay. By the time I was able to negotiate with them, the debt kept quickly piling up and I couldn’t stop it. Then I heard the commercial of Community Tax. They told me that I'd be okay and to just pay 4,000. I paid 400 a month to pay Community Tax and they kept in touch with me. They emailed and texted me a lot.
Enrolling with Community Tax was really easy. I can’t have a phone on the unit at one of the jobs I work at. I told them they could text me to keep in touch with me and they did. I spoke to numerous people and their reps were really good at communicating, not just with me, but with each other. That was key so that they'd all be on the same page. And that was what I really liked. Moreover, my interactions with them were very professional and fun.
I’m done with the program and just have to pay the IRS $80. In the beginning, when I paid Community Tax everything and went through the part where the IRS had lost my information, Community Tax told me to re-fax everything. Luckily, I keep receipts and copies. I re-sent everything and they kept calling IRS and IRS finally okayed everything. They went down from however much I owed to 100. The 20 I paid earlier was included and they said to just pay the $80 before May 5th. I had a great experience with Community Tax. They are the LL Cool J of tax assistance. Community Tax helped me out a lot and I’m glad they are in my hometown so I can brag. I have already recommended them to somebody.

Four years ago we got in some tax issues with the IRS! On the Radio, I heard their ad and was interested in seeing what they had to offer. When I called the person that answered the phone said (after I explained our issue) That they would cut our tax burden down by 80-90% and that no fines or interest would be charged or no tax lien filed. That was not true all have come in, my tax debt went up $30K for fines and interest, and there is a tax lien on our home. I have paid them over $8K to handle my tax issue, and they sent me a text saying that I owe the total amount with all the fines and interest and here is your payment of (X amount). No brakes. Nothing! Today I have a scheduled meeting for 9 AM and no one has called to say sorry were are running late. It might be time for the Iowa and Ill Attorney General to get involved.

I paid approx $5,000 for some resolution of my $41,000 tax problem. I have never received a receipt for the amount I paid them, and not only did I not get a resolution, but we are going on the fourth year and now they are offsetting my wife's taxes for my debt and we have never filed jointly. They have taken her taxes for 2017 and 2018. Disappointed is too nice a word to describe my experience. Considering a lawsuit is a better description.

I talked to one representative who would not answer my question about what they charge or even give any kind of a ballpark. I ended the conversation and then a boss called me and then he would not give me any information as to the cost and then he told me he didn't want to take me as a client even when I was being very polite with him. That's not how I do business.

Community Tax has an excellent program and the people there are wonderful. The enrollment process was simple and easy, and they instantly responded back if there was a question that they needed to do some research upon. It was also researched in a timely manner. The tax agent I worked with was excellent. Not only did he keep me informed of the process, he explained too that if I go into the process, I would have to be more patient as I was a bit leary and I was impatient at first. He guided me through the whole process. In addition to that, he was able to reduce the amount I owed with an offer of a compromise agreement. Working with Community Tax got me to start to get back to my life. The program lowered the amount I owed to the Internal Revenue tremendously. I would recommend them to anybody.

Tax advocacy was what Community Tax did for me for a delinquent tax bill. I talked to to their sales rep to sell me on the product and explain the package that they could provide. As soon as I signed up with them, I paid them in full. They set up the transfer of funds and I got a login information and private ID number to call in with. I’ve had several interactions with their reps over the last two years and it got a little frustrating because I got shuffled around a bit. I’d go from one specialist to another. I had a little trouble with some of the information that they were requesting. They said that they needed to change some of my obligations that I was listing for my debts. I told them to just do what they all have to do.
Furthermore, they were a little behind the ball in getting information from the IRS. I was getting it faster than I was getting it from them most of the time. But they explained that it might be necessary because the IRS would send the information to me and I'd have an attorney waiver in place so that everything they sent me would go over to Community Tax as well, and I was not to respond to anything that the IRS sent me. So, I’d call Community Tax and say, “Hey, I just got this lien notice,” or “I just got this rejection notice,” and they were quick to explain it. It was just weird that I would get that before them or that I would call them before they would contact me.
The whole experience made my partner very upset for a long time. She thought that they were just a scam because we paid them all this money and almost two years later, we still haven’t resolved with the IRS. They weren’t able to get a resolution. But a couple of months ago, they finally did, out of the blue. My partner was happy and said that it was money well-spent. It saved us $30,000. The experience was frustrating but it was a good deal.

I had four years in back taxes and Community Tax offered an Offer in Compromise. The experience was good in the beginning and the end. But the middle was not that great. I will give the person who was doing my initial taxes a poor rating. She listed multiple things wrong that I then had to have corrected. She didn't do a good job until I escalated the issue about the tax information but once I did, they got better.
The Offer in Compromise was approved and I got the information that stated that for five years, I need to be doing everything on time. I had some questions with my follow-up guy to know if there is anything else I would need to do immediately. But I’m in the process of compiling my 2018 taxes so that is something that’s in process. With this recent Offer in Compromise, the impact is positive because I'm not owing that money to the IRS. It happened to have aggressive action like that. So from that end, for that peace of mind, there is no dollar attached to that.

Community Tax provided IRS tax service within my budget. Their agents were very helpful. I worked with Peter mostly and he was efficient. Their process was exceptional because they called me and kept me informed of all the updates. When the government shut down, they called me up and told me that they will be resolving the issue there after they get back in a month so I have no problems with them. They worked with me very well. I was able to get my taxes resolved and I'm about to pay the IRS. I’m happy with the results that I got from them. They made my life a whole lot easier and has improved it vastly. I’m not worried and fearful anymore. I have had a good experience so I’ve recommended them to three people already.

I hired CT in 2012 to solve my tax problem. At the time I was recovering from Cancer, I struggled to pay them with SSA benefits. I asked for an offer in compromise. The interviewing case manager talked about putting me in non-collectible status. Anyone that's eligible for this can do this on their own with income and expense proof through a form 433. You don't need a tax company for this. However the lawyer said their job was done after this which costed me about 5300.00 due to the size of my owed tax.
First of all they didn't tell me I wouldn't qualify for an OIC. They let me believe that my case was being worked on. They kept changing lawyers, I probably spoke to an attorney about 5 times total and this only happened after I threatened to go public and report them. Most of the calls were from case managers who left repeated voicemail calls requesting the same information that was faxed to them. When I returned the calls many of the persons answering the phone had difficulty finding my file. I was faxing information from home and my job. Please, please someone investigate this company because they are not being truthful with everyone. They write the fancy contracts and are trapping vulnerable individuals when they are at their lowest.

I needed help with taxes then I heard that Community Tax was effective. Their enrollment process was not difficult but for the power of attorney, they made the authorization more than once because the period might have expired. They also got a compromise for me which was very good. It took me some time but they gave excellent service. I worked with agents but a specific agent did most of the work and was very competent in providing the report. When Community Tax started my program, I used to pay them on a monthly basis but I took care of the complete payment before it was finalized. Since then, I have completed the program and found them to be effective. I would recommend anyone to them.

If I could give a 0 I would because they don’t deserve even a 1. Save your money, the money you pay the suckers you could use towards your IRS debt or a private person to help you. I’ve had to tell them what forms to fill out for example the EIC; in the tax world you’d think that’s common knowledge. I was told they didn’t fill it because it’s not worth their time. Well I paid your ** - IDC if it’s a $1, it’s my damn $1. They are nothing but thieves that will rob you!!

I paid close to $2500 for Community Tax services to help me with my $30,000 tax debt. Yes, they prolonged the IRS from garnishing my wages but my debt amount remains the same by the penny. If I had known I could have saved my $2500 and requested payment plans my damn self. All those commercials talking about "we will help lower your debt" whatever. I do not recommend.

My husband owed 14,000 and they got it down to 6,000. The process took us two years. The cost of their service was good and we paid it. They just took their down payment and worked with us.

After being left hanging by another tax service who took my money and did nothing so that my wages were garnished, I called Community. I paid them the investigation fee, was told they had financing. Was told that once a garnishment was in place there was nothing that could reduce or lift it except to resolve the tax issue (I live in Texas and I record ALL of my calls).
I called the IRS and it took me all day, but I got them to reduce the garnishment to $189 instead of 80% of my pay. So, misinformation right off the bat. Then I was called by another one of their people who asked me to send him my pay stubs. I impressed upon him that there was a December 23rd deadline for filing the three returns that needed to be filed or they would again garnish my wages at 80%. I let him know that I have a medical hardship. He assured me that he would call me back after receiving my pay records and that getting the returns filed by the 23rd wouldn't be a problem. I never heard back from him.
So, I call to follow up the next day only to be met by a recording saying he would be out of the office until the 26th. So, between the two tax companies, I have spent close to $6000 trying to get someone to help me and get this resolved. I have nothing left. I'm flat broke and now I have to figure out how to do this myself on a VERY short deadline. You are better off just contacting the IRS and working with them yourself to resolve the issue.

I had a tax burden. At that time, I lived in Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico government did some sketchy things in regards to my taxes that also reflected on the federal taxes on the IRS. That was my main concern because the IRS was claiming a certain amount of money that I’m counting that I could not produce. At that time, Community Tax was the best option that I could think of from the research that I have performed online. I had a tax debt relief program and the process took five years, but it was the process. You cannot evade the process because it is programmed in that manner. Nonetheless, Community Tax did everything they could in that span of years.
The rep was very nice in handling the situation. The situation requires a certain level of understanding and when you go through the process, you feel really, really bad because it seems like a never-ending situation. To me, facing this was really, really hard and it killed all of my political aspirations simply because of the nature of the situation. But their reps were really attentive to every request that I made and they handled the situation the best they could because they were dealing with the most powerful federal agency, and that’s understandable.
I have finished the program two years ago. I paid it all upfront at that time and that was it, just one payment. Community Tax gave me a chance to start a new life. Many people commit suicide because of this stuff because it’s the end of the road and this company really dealt with my situation in a very nice way, and I'm grateful for that. My experience with Community Tax was the best experience ever in my life.

I had a couple of issues with all my tax preparation so I called Community Tax. Their enrolment process was easy. They sent me a form that I filled out with basic stuff. And whenever I got a question, I gave them a call and they gave me all the answers that I needed. When I also need information about how I can fill out the form, I called them and they were able to help me over the phone. Community Tax works with the IRS and they worked on a tax debt relief program for the money I owe. They redid all my taxes for all the past years and the IRS accept the offer. Then, I paid $500.
I am now done with the program and everything was fine but they should have told me that the program that they helped me was for the federal taxes. I did not know and I thought they were gonna resolve all of my issues or at least inform about the stuff but they did nothing with the state. The state where I live sent me a bill that I still owe them. I explained to them that I already fixed everything but they said I might fix everything with federal but I still owe for my state. I just got the issues and I gave Community Tax a call.

I owe money to the IRS that I couldn’t pay and I saw the commercial of Community Tax on TV. I'm not used to talking on the phone too much. I like to talk to people face-to-face and since Community Tax is in New York, that was the only way to handle the enrollment process. Other than that, everything was good and I went into their tax relief program.
I don’t make a lot of money and I got to pay bills, the car and my household insurance, rent, gas and on top of that, the debt which hasn’t been leaving me any portion. Right now, we've run out of work for the last 10 days and I'm broke. I still owe $2,100 plus my bills. I work in construction and sometimes there are months that I don’t make as much as I make on summer time and it’s so hard to pay on winter time. There were months that I had to struggle for money and if I loan some money from somebody, I had to pay it. Still, the cost was good. I like it because I was supposed to pay $32,000 and they brought it down to something that I could afford even though it’s high.

If you're having a tax problem, call the Community Tax hotline. They helped me. Enrolling with them was cool and I had no problems because if there was something I didn’t understand, I would call back and they explained it to me. Their negotiators were good and decent. The price that I had to pay could be improved but it wasn’t too bad and it was better than average. I have until March 11th to pay the negotiating fee and so far, i haven't seen progress but I have a few dollars put away. If I had any more tax problems, I would come back to them.

I worked with Ryan from Community Tax and he was the best. He was very, very, very helpful, and very nice person. It was like speaking to my buddy. I enjoyed the experience with him. I worked in the casino business for 30 years. We swapped some stories, and it was very pleasant. The enrollment process was very easy. I had to send out some papers and pertinent information that they needed, which I expected. I very seldom had to send out all those things that I didn’t do, but it was pretty simple and the process went very smoothly.
I'm glad I used Community Tax. They helped me with federal income tax and their program saved me a lot of money. I just completed the program and sent out the last check to the IRS, which was only about $100. So aside from paying through the lawyer fee or Community Tax’s fee, I only had to pay the IRS $100. It was my offer in compromise.
The only thing that I didn’t like was the first time I spoke to somebody at Community Tax, they quoted me a price of about $2,400. And then when I was getting ready to sign up, it was $3,600. So that was a little surprising. But everything else was perfect. It wasn’t nerve-wracking kind of stuff because I was dealing with the IRS. Ryan made it very simple for me and made it an easy process. He would get back to me whenever I called. If I had to leave a message, he usually got back to me the very next day. They were very responsive, and they always responded to my calls. The whole experience was pleasant.

I was having some tax issues and I didn’t know who to call. It was the first time I had issues like that, so when I heard about Community Tax in an ad on Satellite Radio, I gave them a call. I worked with them for about a year and everything is resolved now. There was a lot of going back and forth but the job was done. If I had a question, I'd call them. If nobody answered the phone, I left a message and they called me back. And that was I needed, to know what was going on. When I got a letter from the IRS and I didn’t know what the letter was about, I called and asked Community Tax about it and they gave me answers. Working with them gave me peace of mind knowing that I didn’t have to deal with the IRS anymore and I'd recommend them to a friend.

I knew I had a debt with the IRS and I wanted to be proactive and to make the first move. I felt like that was the least I controlled. At first I worked with Optima Tax but really early, I was not happy with how that was being treated. So I gave up the 500 bucks and went with Community Tax. I had read the reviews and I checked them out on Ripoff Report. That was what led me to go with them and they gave a lot better customer service experience. The enrollment didn't take long then the whole process took over a year but they had told me it was gonna take a while.
They got me all filed up. That was the initial thing and they worked with me really well in terms of payment. I did some money upfront and then I did a weekly payment. They gave me something I could swallow. In fact, after a while, they reduced it some. I was paying about $160 a week initially and then they reduced it like $50 a week. And they just auto-drafted it out of my account per week until it was paid up.
I submitted a few things but it pretty much went without my input. Community Tax took the ball around with it and did whatever it is they do. They sent me some stuff to fill out a few times but not a whole lot. We also got quite a few call conversations but those were usually brief. I don't really know what they did but the IRS accepted and so I'm done. And Community Tax did keep me up-to-date on what was going on. If I had a question, it wasn't hard to get anybody on the phone to talk to. My experience with them was fantastic and I would refer somebody else to them in a heartbeat. I would tell others to absolutely use them, as opposed to the other people that just advertise well. Some people advertise real well and some people do real good work.

I had a problem with back taxes. I heard something on the radio about Community Tax and I checked on their reviews, so I decided to see what they were talking about. When I enrolled, they put me in contact with someone who asked me a few questions, took some information from me, and told me what would happen. Then somebody else called me and they kinda set up the stuff. They told me what I needed to give them and to forward them that information. After sending them whatever they needed, I got in contact with another person and they became my go-to person and contact. They told me what I needed to bring or what I needed to send, my time frame, and things like that. And we would communicate through email. The whole process took about seven months to complete which was pretty much within the timeline they gave me, though there was a little miscommunication at some point.
The reps I worked with were really cool and good personality-wise. Most of them were able to answer the questions that I had and the only issue I had was that I sometimes would receive duplicate requests. If I had spoken to my tax preparer about something that I needed to send in or I said I was waiting on this document, somebody else would call me and say that I need to send in such and such or that they were still waiting on me even though I sent the document already. So that bothered me that sometimes it didn’t always seem that they were on the same page internally. And with them and with taxes, you kinda get a little antsy and a little concerned.
They also had to do a credit check and told me that I could qualify for financing. So, I had to get in with a finance company, which I wasn’t really expecting to have to do, and that was independent of whatever I owed for taxes. Other than that, I would tell others to go with Community Tax because ultimately, they resolved the issue. In terms of them doing what they said, they definitely did that.

In 2015, I found this company because I had two big businesses and thought they would be able to help with arranging tax payments with the IRS. They did not deliver what they promised and my business bank accounts were levied until I was left to close my businesses down within months. It was terrifying and I was pregnant throughout this whole time trying to get a solution. After I had decided to walk away from everything, I went to a local tax guy here in town who fixed my business tax returns and was willing to contact the IRS, however, he said it would cost a bit more. I wrote a negative review on Community Tax before I met with my local guy, and the owner of Community Tax called me and said his guys would fix my issue with the IRS and want to make this right. So, I told my local tax guy that Community Tax will fix my issue.
I sent all paperwork they needed, and today, my husband's bank account got levied with only $2,800 in it! The only money we have left until he is paid again. I had to file bankruptcy after my businesses closed in 2017, and now I am a full-time nursing student. I decided I need to continue to help provide for my family and do better but this company makes promises and they don't realize that they are ruining families and lives.
I hope the owner reads this and refunds me fully. They have not fulfilled any of their promises. It's so hard to get a hold of anyone or speak to anyone. We don't live in Illinois, and it's so heartbreaking that they would be treating people this way not realizing the complications people go through. This caused a lot of financial damages! I want to move on, and get the money I have paid for so I can move on and work with the local person here who has been helpful from the beginning. I can no longer waste any more trust and time on people stealing money as my family suffers. It's been 3 years! This is NOT right!!!

I had called a couple of other places before going with Community Tax, but as I had heard them on the radio I called their rep, Ryan, and talked to him for quite some time on the phone. I asked him how long it was till I had to pay because they were asking for quite a bit of money upfront. The enrollment went smoothly. Ryan worked with me almost the entire time, except when I had correspondence through the mail. Community Tax let me know that they wanted my signature, so they had to mail me some stuff to get it. Once I got handed over to the person that processed the tax part, though, I didn’t talk to Ryan as much but I had his number so whenever I needed something, I called him and left a message and someone would call me back.
Everything worked out and I was happy with the results. While the cost of the program was a little high, with all the stuff involved, it wasn’t bad at five grand total. I worked extra hard and took a few extra jobs, and I paid that off in seven months. Everybody that I talked to said that they were still waiting to hear back from the IRS and they were waiting to have somebody assigned to my case. The settlement of my case with the IRS took a long time because of how many years I was behind with my payments, but Ryan was very amazing and did very well, and Community Tax was great and I don't know anything that they could have done better.

They made me feel good when I spoke with them on the phone. The enrollment process was smooth as well. However, it would have been beneficial if there was a little more communication when my case would be transferred to different people. But my offer was accepted in the spring so, everything has been good.

I don’t trust too many companies and there’s a lot of scams out there. However, I’ll recommend anybody to go to Community Tax. I was drowning in debt and so I enrolled in their tax debt relief program. They do my filing and will also continue to file for me going forward. The payment plan they set up was good and they let the individual choose what he or she wants to pay. It makes it lighter and easier for us. Working with Community Tax has a very good impact in my life so far. It put me on a straight and narrow path now so that I can look forward to not making the same mistakes. They opened my eyes to that. I've also been trying to send them other people who are in debt.

We had an accountant do an Offer in Compromise for us, but it did not go through and the IRS sent it back, which put us further behind. So, I contacted a tax company because I was tired of the matter and I thought that I'd leave it to professionals. At first, we thought that Community Tax was expensive, but they were cheaper than the company that we wanted to go with. The enrollment was straightforward and easy. The agents that we worked with were excellent. Nick was the first agent that we worked, then we worked with a couple of different people after him. Nick was really good at explaining everything and giving us a lot of details. He also kept us up-to-date with what was going on because sometimes we didn't hear from them for a week and we wondered what was happening, but they were still working.
Community Tax got my case in February and it was settled in August, and that was great. The payment plan that they gave us worked well for us, and they were flexible with it. Then, after the case was closed and settled, I worked with the agent, Tyler, and he summed everything up. He also called to make sure that I understood everything. On the whole, Community Tax was good to me.

Community Tax did a good job. When I called, I talked to different people and they were good and very nice. The process was neither hard nor easy, but it was a little long and it took more than a year to get everything done. Community Tax made the cost fair and good for me though. My initial contact person with Community Tax was very helpful as far as the information and the timing on what needed to happen. He was also very helpful in walking me through various steps and he kept in contact with me throughout the process. Trying to call Community Tax office's main line was challenging. It was like nobody was ever available. I’d leave messages and they wouldn’t call me back. So, I would have to call my initial contact person, and he would always get right back to me, send me an email, and make sure to get in touch with them.
My payment plan was very flexible. I’ve been in-between jobs throughout this process, and the timing and the payments worked out. They were giving me until January for the last payment but I paid it last week. The cost of the program was comparable to the situation overall. I have talked to different family members and friends about how comfortable I was with the process. I was very grateful that I was able to match myself up with some organizations that really helped me through this process. I referred people to Community Tax.

I was having IRS problems for years and I fell into some lawyers that just took my money and did nothing. Community Tax contacted me by email. I took advantage of them and everything worked out perfectly. The enrollment didn’t take long at all. I had a brief over-the-phone consultation and we set up arrangements of payment. They worked with me all the way down the line and so far, everything is looking up. They helped come to a tax resolution and had gotten me off of compromise and I was very pleased with that. Now, I’m just waiting to hear back from the IRS.
The cost was beautiful for the work they’ve done. They were really efficient with everything and didn’t forget about me. They followed through and kept me up to speed with everything. If I had any questions, they made it easy for me. When I was in Chicago, it was like I was right there close to the office and everything was at my convenience. I wanted to try to get my credit together and I’m trying to get back in standing with IRA so that I can file my taxes and if anything is due to me, receive that. I got into Community Tax and they said they needed $1800 to get everything started, then I had to pay $250 to file the tax for one year. I paid the money to get things done and now I am in limbo. The communication has been very poor, so I don’t know if their service works or not. I faxed them things which cost me $10 to $15 just to fax everything. I did that over several times and now I don’t really know what came of it. I’m still in the dark and I don't know where I stand as far as the taxes go.
Other than that, I got my taxes done for free last year and sent them in. But that was because I didn't make over that amount to be charged. So I’m finding out things, but not through Community Tax. I spoke to several of their reps and they told me that they are still looking into this and waiting on this paperwork. They also said they'd be in touch with me. When I called them, I was on hold for a good amount of time then I went to an answering machine. The money needs to be paid after you get someone but now, their reps are saying that they gotta dish it over with their senior representative and call me. But I don’t know when they’ll call back and I wish this was taken care of.

Initially, I called Community Tax but didn't get an answer. Thereafter, somebody from there called me back and I had a discussion with them. Their reps were very nice to understand what I was presented with in my case. They offered to help me resolve the situation and provided consultation services for me. Working with them has given me a little more peace of mind and I could understand and relate better to what I was going on. They taught me what my rights were and what they could do for me. I was stressed and I didn’t know what to do. Then I heard about Community Tax on the radio so I decided to call them. At first, the service sounded too good to be true. But since I’m done, I can say it was all true. So I’m glad I called them. They were also all good people to me. A while back, I owed some back taxes and Community Tax gave me a call and that's why I just went with them when I decided to get out of a tax problem. The enrollment was easy and the rep lets me know what I need to do and when I need to make my payments. They got it down to about $1,200 and I just started paying IRS that bit of money from a $16,000 overpayment. Knowing that I can get straightened out with the IRS is a lot of pressure off right there.

Community Tax had the least complaints or they seem to address their complaints over other companies. I was going by things that I had read in the Better Business Bureau. The reports that Community Tax prepared when I was trying to find the people that actually had gone through the process with them didn’t sound fake or hyped people themselves. They had the best feedback.
The enrollment was easy. I called them and they said they would fix my problem and they ran through the specifics. Then, they said they could work with that and I paid them. I was paying them every month for a while and during those months, I called them and they were like, "Yeah, yeah, sure." But as soon as I made the last payment, they were less easy to get on the phone. There didn’t seem to be a structured way to talk about my case, if I wanted to. I went into this fairly cynically and I sort of expected that.
I had to come up with all this documentation, income projections, a lot of paperwork, old documents, and a lot of stuff that needs to be sorted out. Their communication was fairly poor. If I had a question, I would call them and no one would answer. There would be no one around and I couldn't get a call back. Also, they would ask me for documents and I would send them but two weeks later, they would say they need to those documents. I would say I have sent those documents and they would say that they do have the documents. That happened about five times. So, every time I would send a document, I would ask if they have gotten it and they would send me a thing where they say that they got the documents. They also provided something that had a document submit function. I tried it but they all go to a black hole.
At one point, I had to do a lot of paperwork where I had just come up with these income projections for a year ahead. It was a complicated, time-consuming thing and I just hadn’t heard from them in a while. They said they needed it and I said I was working on it. Then, I got a letter in the mail one day that said they canceled my case. There was no warning for that which said they would throw me out of the program at such and such a date. They said they haven't heard from me. I said I was in the middle of doing that and that I had been trying to get a hold of them. Then, they said they need another $500 to restart.
They could make sure that when people send documents, they get their documents and that they don’t extort people for money. But my issue was resolved. It took forever which was partly my fault, partly the IRS and partly their fault. It was fine that it took forever, though. If everything's on hold for two years, it basically means you got all that extra time to start to get your life straight. Also, the resolution was great, so it's all worth it. It was quite surprising to me because they put me in basically the best possible scenario where I got most of it written off. There's not a ton of further requirements. In my case, instead of owing some giant amount of money, I owed a tenth of that or not even and I saved $40,000 in the end.
Once this is done, I'm finished with the IRS. I have to pay my taxes in time but once it's paid, even if I make $2 million next year, then it doesn’t matter. It's like a bankruptcy type program where it's just finalized. When we were researching this, everyone in the world said that that's a very hard thing to even get into and that most people don’t qualify. One of the other companies I contacted also said I probably didn't qualify but Community Tax said I qualified. I was like, "Okay. If you say so. You're the experts."

I was thinking to see another way to solve my tax problem but I was so busy at work. I decided to call Community Tax because I heard their phone number. They gave it on the broadcast so I just called right away. They made an appointment about a day later. The person who helped me the first time was so nice. I was happy to do the steps in trying to fix my problem. I signed up for their tax relief program. They talked to an IRS representative and they went over my income that I don’t make that much money yearly. I’m supposed to get the tax back instead of paying but I was not reporting my tax every year. My income was less than what I’m supposed to get every year and I have four kids.
I've worked with the whole team at Community Tax and every time I called, they knew what they were doing. Also, they knew who was calling right away with my number and they went right away to the computer. They would tell me they would let me know as soon as they get something from the IRS and sometimes, when they needed something like a proof of income five years ago, they would send me three notices, one by text, one by email and one by mail. So there wasn’t a way to miss it. They were making sure that I received notices of what they needed, every paperwork that they needed from me or any receipts from me.
I was surprised by how they work and I like it. However, the only thing I don't like is that they took a long time to fix my problem. It took almost three years. I knew they were busy and they were working on my case but every time they call me, they say it was gonna take time and I should just be patient. Also, the reason my case took a little bit longer was because I don’t even have internet at home. And every time I have to do the paperwork, I have to go somewhere and do a fax. It would take me three or four days to send just a little page because I have to download it from my email then I have to sign it and then I have to fax it back.
I was kind of tight in my payment but sometimes, they let me pay two weeks later from the day that I was supposed to pay it. They were always flexible on my payments. I just called and asked for the extension. They said what they needed was to let them know because the payment was an electronic one so they needed to stop the payment. They really worked with me and they did a good job because they solved my problem.

The IRS was asking me to pay them almost $10,000 and I decided to call Community Tax. Community Tax is an easy company or corporation to grow with because even when you don’t call them, they reach out to you. First time that I spoke to Community Tax, Larry was the recruiting person that told me how much I have to pay Community Tax. Also, they told me that anytime IRS sends me a letter, send it to them and tell them what is at the top of the letter. I was pleased with that because it tells them why they have to fight more for me. And I like that they kept on fighting and they kept on informing me that I'm gonna hear from them soon. The IRS had originally refused to give me the break and then they took it back.
Before the Offer in Compromise, it was about $10,000 and it seemed like there was no way they were gonna give me the Offer in Compromise. They told me that I have to pay $400 within about five months. So, I owe them $300 more and then I pay them sometime this month and be done with them. But I'm not off the hook with them, as yet. I have to keep on filing my taxes for five years and they said that they're gonna take something off of it. They charged me about a little over $2,000 but I had no choice. I had to do what I had to do and the IRS doesn't let go of you unless somebody advocated for you. Community Tax reps were good people and I'm glad I took them. They saved me a lot of money and I'm glad. If I had to pay what I had to pay to get what I had to get then, I will do it again. I will recommend anyone that was going through the same thing I went through to Community Tax.

A friend of mine who thought he was gonna be using Community Tax said their process was pretty good. I went on their site and looked and they have been in business for years, which was a plus, and I heard they got a lot of resolutions. I called them and found out they're a legitimate company. Everything from start to finish was touchable and somebody was always visible or virtually visible. Also, they were very consumer-friendly. They were more or less concerned about getting the issue resolved and I liked that about them. I'm done with the program and it lasted for two or three months which was not that long. Now, I don’t have to worry or be concerned about my tax issue. Community Tax did what they said they were gonna do and after they got stuff resolved, they still called to offer me additional services which I thought was nice. It was overall a great experience.

Daniel is the attorney from Community Tax and to me, he was remarkable. He is the one that sold me with his professionalism, integrity, know-how, and patience. The enrollment was very simple and every time I asked them certain questions, they were able to answer my them. They were able to do what I asked them to do at one point or another. They seemed to be very realistic about the information that I had given of what they can and cannot do. They seemed to be very positive in what their ability was to be able to find a remedy to my problem.
Daniel communicated with me and was always there when I needed him to answer a question when I was in doubt in reference to something. He was always available and if not, he would make himself available. He would go above and beyond his way to make things happen. He made sure all my i's were dotted and all the t's were crossed. I went with this on my shoulders for like three years and he was able to resolve it finally. Also, the cost was feasible. I was having some problems with the IRS for not paying taxes and I heard that Community Tax could help problems with the IRS. The agents at Community Tax were good. They have the experience and they call me. They work well on payments too. If they tell me that I have to put money on this date, then I have to put my own responsibility on that date and I have to pay. I've had a great experience with Community Tax. Now that they just finished my case, I had to put my own responsibilities, so that way, everything can get done well.

I had a really good experience with Community Tax. It was the first company I dealt with and they did a really good job. Whatever is going on with the IRS, they let me know right away or sometimes I call them. But sometimes it was my fault because I went to Mexico a couple of times and they were asking me for some more information and I didn’t give them that information right away so the process took a bit longer. So far, I paid $4,000 which was a bit high. I didn’t have that amount on my pocket at that moment so I did about four payments. I was tight financially, I didn’t work and I had to borrow money from a couple of friends but somehow I fixed it. Their payment plan helped me a lot. Their reps are professionals and they do their job in trying to do the best they can to help people. As far as I know, I finished the program. I just have to pay whatever the amount I have to do with IRS. It’s not that much so I’m sure I can handle it.

I have completed the program at Community Tax. Community Tax's representative was excellent. Our communication was great and the feedback was good. The payment plan was setup up like it was supposed to. I've skipped a couple of payments but they were nice enough to roll it over. It's nothing something major but I want to make sure that on the last issue that I have sent the $40 off but I couldn't get back with them. Nevertheless, our experience with Community Tax was great. I’m trying to get my sister and all the people to try them out because they can’t go wrong.

Community Tax offered me a payment plan and they were willing to set it up on payments so I didn’t have to come up with one lump sum. They were also cheaper than anybody else I talked to and the other companies wanted all the money upfront for their services. I was thoroughly pleased with their enrollment process and everything went well with the reps. I got to them what they asked for and they were right there on top of things. I’ve completed the program and I’ve got my settlement now. A week ago the rep called me and said he was mailing everything out for me. My credit is still showing up with IRS, but he said that should come off once we've got everything settled. I’d recommend Community Tax to anybody that has my problems.

Community Tax was the first and only company I ever tried. I was leery about the enrollment process and had some issues from the beginning but it has been a couple of years ago. I have dealt with multiple people and the service has been good. However, if you call, it may take three days before someone gets back to you. I’m still working with them and cost-wise, it was okay for the service they provided.

I lost my job and I was in an accident, and I went with Community Tax to get their help in resolving my tax problem with the IRS. Their program was good and I am now at ease because they made it good. Also, the cost of their service was good and I liked it. The rep, Lisette, was honest and she was the one that called me all the time in the beginning. Then I worked with the lawyer, Jose, who was very patient and he always called me too. I have already finished the program, but I’m waiting for the IRS to send me some papers. I've recommended Community Tax to a couple of friends.

There was someone who had the same problem with his income tax and he mentioned Community Tax. I looked up the company online and made $5600 or $5700 in payments back. That's where my relationship with the company started. When I had questions, I called their reps and whoever answered helped me. Also, they were pretty flexible when it came to the payment plan. I told them that I was going through a divorce and would make an early retirement. When I retired from the Union Ironworker, I was looking at $3,000 a month or a better pension, but since I made the early retirement, I was penalized by that. That’s where I’m at and took another third of it. So I ended up with maybe 35% or 40%.
I have to budget every month and they were lenient with me. They had a 10-month plan and they’re making a fund of $70 payment a month. They helped me and it was not like they wanted the whole payment at one time. Also, they got the IRS off my back. I don’t know if it costs less but it might furnish my way and compare it to how much they wanted it. At that time, I was making good money. In fact, $56,000 to $60,000 a year at the time. There was no more stress after that. I recommend Community Tax. Others should call them up.

I wanted to get my taxes in order and straighten out. I sent Community Tax copies of my W-2 and my social, so they could go and research everything as far as my back taxes. The agent I was working with kept me informed through email or phone call. It would be better though that he would have touch-based with me more often because a lot of times, I would be impatient just to see how things were going.
The agent came up with an amount and they said that that was the only amount I could deal with. I thought it was gonna be a one year plan of $250 to get things straightened out with my federal taxes, but it is a two-year deal. It started in 2017 and I still got another year of payments. I discussed that with them but they said that was the agreement although there was no written down of agreement sent forth, and it was more verbal than anything.
Other than that, it is a good service. Community Tax consolidated all of my taxes and got them up to date. It is a good way of getting your taxes done, getting caught up, and getting yourself back in balance with the Federal Government. Also, there were times when I wasn’t able to make it on the 15th of every month, but they worked with me as far as my payments and I appreciated that.

I was at a desperate moment, desperate time in my life. When I spoke with Community Tax, they seemed really professional and really encouraging. The agent I dealt with was genuinely concerned. A little bit more communication, however, was needed. But, it seemed like towards the end, it got a whole lot better. Also, in the middle of mine, some of the communication issues was on my end too, so I can't blame them completely because I had a lot of personal issues, job issues and separation going through, so I was changing a lot with my stuff. So, that got their communication mixed up also.
In the beginning, I had paid it off fairly early, and they made it very doable for me, whatever they could do. Also, in the beginning, you don't think that the cost was worth it. But after it was all said and done, it was. Since working with them, I don't avoid phone calls anymore, and that is a great thing. The stress level is just gone. I was so overwhelmed when I got the last phone call from them saying that I was dissolved from my tax issues. I was so thankful and grateful to them for all the work they put in.

A friend of mine from work told me about Community Tax a long time ago and I saved the number. He used them and he said they were good so I decided to go ahead and try them. When I enrolled with them, they ended up getting all my old tax stuff and re-doing six years' worth of taxes for me. There was a lot of back and forth documentation across two or three years and then they finally got the Offer in Compromise done. And now, I'm just waiting to pay off the remainder. The offer that we had to settle on with IRS is way higher than I felt it should have been, so I'm going to borrow money to make that happen. It could have been lower but from what I've read on the internet and through my research, only 20% of the cases actually get an Offer in Compromise that try to do it.
In the beginning, somebody from there would tell me they need a document and I would get it or I have to try to find it and then get back with them when I found it and then mail or fax it. But they called me on a regular basis and the tax agent seemed knowledgeable and I trusted him. It was good working with them and they got the job done so they’re legit.

I had some back-tax stuff and Community Tax was the first company I called. And I figured, after I called them, that they're well-versed in everything. The enrollment process was easy but it got confusing. There was so much going on that sometimes I was lost where I stood, what was going on and who I was talking to. I didn’t know who to send money to and who wasn’t supposed to get money. Also, I was dealing with four or five different people so I didn’t know who to call a lot of times. And I would call into the service as if I was a new customer and then it would pull me up by my phone number. The guy who currently does my taxes is informative, easy to talk to and personable so I like talking with him. He was a different part of it, so I knew how to contact him for that specific part. He was easy to get ahold of but during tax season it would be harder to do so.
My experience with Community Tax may be improved by a listing of each person who's gonna be contacting or has contacted me, what they represent and what portion they represent in the company. Also, there was a lot of downtime during the process so a bit more information would be good because a lot of times I was sitting in the dark and having concerns whether things were being handled or not. It's weeks-to-weeks at times where I didn't know what was happening. Nevertheless, I felt pretty comfortable working with Community Tax overall. They knocked my tax bill down quite a bit and they got me out of a lot of trouble.

I had a wonderful experience with Community Tax and would recommend them. I had a tax debt of 56,000. I talked to this gentleman, Bruce, and told him my situation. He told me that there were other companies that I could go through which they had a good following up on. We went through what I owed on my taxes and what we could get it cut down to but it was gonna take a while 'cause of communication through IRS. I have Bruce's cell and whenever the IRS sent me a letter, all I had to do was call him up. Then I'd fax Community Tax the letter and they would talk directly with IRS. Bruce walked me through everything.
It was stressful on my part because this was the first time ever this had happened to me. But whenever I called, they were always helpful. Even if it wasn't the same person, they would hook me up with my case manager. It took some time and although they were trying to get my debt down to 500, when the IRS offered 5 grand after two years, I said I'd take it. Dealing with Community Tax might have cost me a little bit more than I could afford, but it was at least better than the 56,000 that I owed. I borrowed the money and sent it right to Community Tax. And when the IRS was ready, the payment was sent out on time.
Now, they're doing my regular taxes. Might as well continue through them because doing this on the outside is just about the same amount as it is doing it with Community Tax who knows so much about me already. They told me that if I get a return, I won't receive any of the money for the first year. But when I read it on the paper, it said five years. I told them that and they called me back and said that after a year, I would see the money, which is something I could deal with.

I had to call back Community Tax a few times to get the ball rolling but the enrollment process went well. I’m still making payments but I’m finished. They got me a resolution so I am very pleased with that and I would recommend them. I was very skeptical at first, but they did what they promised, so that was impressive. Connie, the rep who I worked with came through and did what she said she was gonna do from the beginning so that was nice. It sounded that they’re a little bit on the over-busy side but Connie did an excellent job. Community Tax was very flexible with the payment plan and the cost was appropriate as well. They were also able to handle the tax burden that I have and get it in time and the billing department was exceptional in working with me.
