I have been trying since December to get my loan modified. In June WaMu/Chase decided I might be able to accept a payment plan with higher payments. Since I was already having trouble, this was not going to work. I went to an HUD certified counselor who tried to help me by calling and arranging for us to resubmit the modification docs. During this time, we got behind in payments and WaMu/Chase started the foreclosure process with a tentative sale date of my house in Sept. I called every week, sometimes twice, to try and stay on top of everything and send in whatever they needed.

I resubmitted pay stubs, had the bank stamp my bank statements, and signed my copy of my tax returns. Next, a final sale date was set for my house to be auctioned off for 10/5/09. We received 12 letters, some certified. At this point, I had no choice but to lease a home elsewhere. On 10/7/09, WaMu/Chase called me with a modification that was $500 less than what I had been paying. I was stunned that they would offer a modification after they told me they were going to auction off my house. I was told that since the foreclosure and the modification are not related to each other, they could do this. Can they? The person I last spoke at with WaMu/Chase advised that I should send a letter regarding what happened and request a Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure.

We applied for a mortgage modification program. We sent all information requested by certified mail. As the others above have described, we have had to make contact. They do not respond. The usual answer is, "Whoever told you that is wrong." I actually have a tape of one of their agents stating, "I can't be responsible for what someone else told you." Should not they be required to respond in writing? Is this not a government funded program?

For years, I have had my mortgage with Chase Bank. Since 1998, I have worked two full time jobs to pay all my bills until my nighttime job was lost because of the economy. After missing some payments and catching them up and then to miss more in October of '08, I started a loan modification with Chase. After a month of no returned calls and losing my temper with some people, I finally got a call back in the middle of December and Chase finally started to work on my loan mod. In January of '09, I tried to make my payment and Chase would no longer take the payment by check or anything but Western Union, which had unfortunately closed all their money gram locations down in my area. I made several calls to Chase just to get transferred from one person to the next about what to do. In first of February, I received my loan mod documents stating what my payments were and when they started which showed on my paper work was March. The problem I had was that in February, the rest of Chase Bank didn’t have any info on this so for another month after them taking a certified check from my bank for the loan mod, they would only take Western Union.

So, I missed another payment. Then in March, I tried to make my payment, not knowing what to do about the missed payments. I finally had a lady call my place of work and took a full month's payment over the phone with no problem. Crazy, huh? In April, I made my first loan mod payment with insurance added for my home, which I already had with another company. So here I am in April with my loan new mod loan already showing behind and now paying for insurance I already have which Chase was charging me double what I was already paying. Unfortunately, I do not have the money to make two months payment plus my regular payment to give Chase to be caught up again. Finally in September, I got the insurance part fixed. But every time I call to try to get help fix the payment problem, they tell me they will work on it and get back with me. I actually had one person to get all my info and she told me, "I will get with your account manager and put the missed payments at the end of your loan." I told her okay that would be great. This happened in June.

I waited two days and called to speak with my account manager and couldn’t get anyone. I called Chase every day until in July, when a gentleman called me wanting to take my payment and was told he was my new account manager and no one talked to him and that Chase could not do anything like that. So the gentleman got all my info after taking my payment and told me that first thing in the morning, he would get with the mod dept and try to help me fix this problem and again, I said great. For the next three weeks until August, I could not get in contact with my account manager to find out what is going on. In September, I finally got a phone on the 1st which is the day my payment is due, and I was told nothing had been done. There were no records of the modification dept working on anything on my account and I was told by a person who was my account manager for the month that I needed to step up and make my payments! After losing my temper and saying a few choice words honestly, I hung the phone up.

My wife and I signed up for the Chase mortgage modification program back in April 2009. After filling out all the paperwork and many trips to the bank, we were finally accepted. We were instructed to pay $502.12 on the 25th of June, July and August. Confirmation numbers were given and all three payments were made on time. We waited anxiously to find out the outcome. The middle of September hit, so we started making phone calls. The many people that we had talked to said everything seemed to be in order and to keep making the $502.12 payments until contacted by the case worker.

So, we proceed to make another payment of $502.12 on the 25th of September. A few days later, we were called by the Collections department. My wife explained to the agent that we were in the middle of a loan modification. The agent proceeded to tell her that we were turned down on August 3rd. My wife inquired to the reasoning. Agent replied with, "I'll have the manager call you back."

I ended up talking to a Ted ** from the Loan Modification program. He told me the reason we were denied was that we make too much money. I wanted to know why we weren't notified in anyway. He had an unprofessional excuse of, "I'm sorry sir, but we dropped the ball on that one and that we should have contacted you." Needless to say, I didn't take too kindly to Teds' remark. What kind of show are we running here? Now, our family is even deeper in debt with late charges and fees being tacked on to the loan. For being one of the top four banks in the world, you definitely need to get your act together. Some common courtesy goes a long way.

I have been with Chase Mortgage for 3 years. I am trying to do a loan modification with Chase. I started the paperwork in July of 2009. At that time, I have given Chase all the paperwork they needed. I also called the modification department and checked to see if all info was received. At that time, they advised me that they had all paperwork and that the mod was in process. I have checked the mod every month that has followed. They still tell me it is in process. I called today on 10/7/09 and was advised that they need most of the item that was sent again 3 months after this all started. When I originally sent all items, I went to my local Chase bank and had them faxed.

On the fax transmission, it states all items were received. I would like to know what the problem is with Chase bank and why they make it so difficult to do modification. Others that I have talked to that are in the same situation that I am in have had their modification done on about 3 weeks. Can you give me some insight on this problem? Thank you.

I am a realtor in Florida. It is an interesting market, which holds many surprises. However, there is one thing which is not a surprise - banks holding back on short sales. It happened to me before and it looks like it is happening again. We wrote an offer on a short sale. Never did we get a response in regards to the offer by the bank who was the lender, just to find out that the house was foreclosed, on the market for $25k less than our offer was. Thus, the bank was losing money. Right now, I am in the same situation with Chase. They are not moving on, not doing anything to get the short sale done, the buyers into the house, the sellers to a new area of their lives and get the money they can get. Chase is holding back, not communicating, not taking any action, just sitting on this transaction, and probably many of them, with the sole purpose of losing the sale and then get more money in the future by the government.

In my first case, the damage to the bank (not Chase) was about $40k! In the new case, the damage to our economy will be much higher. We will see to what amount it will add up, but it could very well be up to $50k or $60k. Chase did nothing at this point to drive the sale forward. As I heard, after 2 months, not even an appraisal was done. Part of it might be the ridiculous new law about appraisers by the Feds, but mostly it is because Chase and all other banks just are not doing their job. I hope the name Chase will be seen on here as much as possible so people are aware of what is going on.

First things first: Do not ever go to Chase for a mortgage. They are the worst. I am the seller of a home in the Bronx. I went into contract on May 5, 2009. The process for the buyers was long and tedious with Chase. The appraisal was not done until two months after the application was given. The approval was issued Aug. 27, 2009. It took almost 4 months for an approval. The approval had one outstanding condition, a copy of the borrower's green card, which to me is black and white. This was provided promptly.

After that it was all a blur. New conditions started to be requested. The docs were provided. One week later, two new conditions were asked for. Again, the conditions were given and, again, two new conditions were requested. This went on for weeks with no end. It was outright comical. Chase did everything not to do this loan. On Oct. 6, 2009, full five months after the contract was signed, they denied it for some frivolous nonsense issue. The loan officer which I know very well, in the business for 20 years with other lenders, could not believe it. Chase is a disgusting destroyer of lives. They are not in the business in helping people, but they are the ultimate incompetent bank. They lied and strung the buyer and seller for 5 months. I only hope they go out of business because they don't deserve to be in business to rip clients off. Beware.

I lost my job in August 2008, and have been out of work since. I had credit debt with Chase, and I'm not complaining about that. What I am complaining about is that when they contacted me about it, they were insulting and rude to me. I informed them at the time that I hoped to be back in work soon (this was after missing two months payments) and that I'd pay as soon as I got hired somewhere. They sent it off to a creditor, and they called and were very very harassing, rude, contacting every number and address of any place I'd lived, or could be recorded as having lived. They threatened me with all sorts of things from jail to defaulting on my debt. I told them to default because it'd been 6 months, and getting a job wasn't in my foreseeable future, as I was homeless and the contact info they had was for a temporary place of residence. They continued to call and harass anyone who answered the phone to talk to them till we stopped answering those numbers.

So, Chase sold it off to another creditor recently, with the same insult and threatening tactics as the previous. So, ya, I want everyone I can think of or convince to stop using Chase. Let's put them in debt.

I received a letter that my HELOC was frozen. The reason stated was that the value of the home had fallen. When I called JPM Chase, they told me that the credit report they used revealed that I have a first mortgage on my home greater than what I paid! I do not have a mortgage on my home. I have another home, in another state for that mortgage. I called the credit bureau and Experian told me that the credit bureaus list the mortgages, but not the address of the property that is mortgaged. Chase claims that the report they received states that the mortgage is on the home that the HELOC is on. The only way to rectify it is to get a title search and an appraisal. This will cost me thousands just to prove they are wrong. I think the real reason they are doing this is because they want to cancel as much exposure as possible in NYC. I have a 3.25% loan that I cannot duplicate anywhere else.

As it seems to be common practice with Chase Mortgage, I have been in the process of modifying my mortgage since Feb. '09. I originally called in Nov. '08 and they said to call back after Jan. '09 as the Obama Making Housing Affordable program would go into effect. Well, almost nine months later, I still do not have my loan modified. They originally lost my paperwork and therefore, I am on my third filing. They told me I was declined the first time as I had three months of emergency funds; however, they state on their program that emergency funds are excluded. I've now been told that the file is back open and would be escalated. As of Sept. 30, I now am being told that the escalation process has been discontinued and that I have to go through the normal chain of commands. Each time I call, I get a different story. Is there any way to get this organization to what they are supposed to be doing? I need some help on how I should proceed.

We are self-employed, own 3 homes in California and closed down our business, which has made 6 digit figures for the past 21 years, due to the credit freeze. On Feb. 9th, we applied for a mortgage mod with WaMu/Chase on our 2 homes that we have mortgages with them. We were faxed several forms and told to do our 2008 taxes, which I always get an extension on. We received an overnight package offering us 1.9% for 3 years, capping at 4.9% for the life of the loan. I got my taxes done in March and was told that I was too late for the 1.9%. I told them that I got my tax returns done in less than 1 month for them. They told me to continue with my mod. They kept losing my faxes of 2 years of tax returns, hardship letters, bank statements, so I asked to go speak to a loan modifier in person.

I was given the Chase Home Ownership office in Santa Ana. Zac ** is the loan modifier there. I gave him all of the documentation and he told me that he would have my loan mod done within 45 days, now that I was with him. It is now Sept. 30th and he will not return my calls, even when I leave messages stating, "Chase does not have my tax returns." I finally went into my local branch after re-faxing everything in and asked someone to call Chase and make sure they had everything. They do. Now when I called, they told me that they will decide if I am denied or not.

One of the things that I discussed with Zac was that I could no longer afford to pay the 2nd on our home as we closed our business and the county tax assessor was reassessing our home value down. The reassessment came in at our home now being worth $300,000. We owe $700,000. Zac told me that they would never foreclose on the 2nd as both are with Chase and to just pay $1,990 on the 1st at 3.75% until they got the new payment figured out. Well, let me say this. I started 2 new businesses and every month, it gets worse for earning money. Chase knows that the credit lines are frozen and they are a cause of this. They can give us all the 1.9%.

Did you know that the derivatives market was close to a quadrillion, according to the BIS? The U.S. mortgage market is only 10 trillion, so these banks were making Las Vegas style Casino bets and took America down with them when they lost. Then they get the tarp money to use it to buy T-bills, stocks or whatever and not give it to the people. We are the collateral damage. The damage they have done to America is far greater than the 911 terrorist attacks. I had to send a cease and desist fax to Chase to stop calling me 10 times a day on the 2nd. They ignored my faxes. Then I sent them in letters from my doctor, showing how I have 2 injuries from car crashes and my cholesterol has skyrocketed for the first time in my life. I sent this in to them as part of the cease and desist action.

I owe $2,300 on my Chase credit card, which I plan to pay off when I get my mod. Instead, they have a call center in India call me 20 times a day, 7 days a week to ask me why I am not paying. I answered this question about 120 times and then I became afraid to answer my phone, so I stopped. Chase would rather pay a foreign country to harass us, rather than give us a mod. We were told by Chase that we did not qualify for a mod on our investment property with them. We lost our renters in May and did not try to re-rent it. I agreed to give them a deed in lieu of foreclosure and wash the cap gains with the charge off on the 2nd trust deed on my home. Chase made us put the home on the market for 3 months. I plan to sign it over to them next week.

If my modification does not go through, the bankruptcy laws will protect us from these people. They want us to become homeless people in our own land. They have violated several laws, including violating the law that states that you cannot ring a person's phone as many times as they do. They have violated the cease and desist orders and although I have my phone bills to prove that I re-faxed everything to them at least 7 times, they claim that they never got these faxes. I think there is a long list of people who have gotten the same treatment.

Chase owns part of the Federal Reserve, so I cannot file a complaint with the Federal Reserve. Chase gave heavily to both presidential parties, so we probably are not going to get any help there either. Anyone ready yet to take on the 800lbs gorilla? How about David and the Iraq giant, Goliath? Blood is thicker than the mud. The proof is in the pudding. Chase is anti American. The amount of time that I have spent on this mortgage mod has been above and beyond what is reasonable because they lose everything or are running you around in circles. I don't want to have to ask for a mortgage mod because I had to shut my business down because there is not enough business to keep it going. Let's get our priorities straight here. They are the cause of this. We did not do this, they did. Thank you for your time.

I became unemployed at the End of March right when the Loan Modification Program took off. I applied for it to try to help me keep my home since jobs are so scarce. I never heard a word from this company about anything concerning this application. I had to continually call them to find out anything. They needed more information. I would not have known had I not phoned them myself. I called today and found out that I have been turned down due to the equity in my home, like I could take out a home equity loan. I contacted Chase at the beginning about a possible refinance or other options, but since I was unemployed, they would not talk to me about anything. Now, they tell me that according to their underwriter's appraisal that my mobile home and property is now worth $204,000!? Really? And that is their reasoning for denying me the modification loan.

I feel that this was an easy way not to have to process my loan. How many others have been done this way? My aunt and uncle lived in a brick home and they just refinanced their home. It didn't even appraise at $100,000 and they tell my mobile home is worth more than a house? I am using up all my savings and have liquidated any possible money available (other than my IRA) to make payments. I am running out. If there was a legitimate reason for denying me then that would be fine, but the appraisal was reaching a bit. And to top it all off, the customer service representative's recommendation for trying to help me was to suggest that I get a job. Now why didn't I think of that? There are no jobs here at the moment and with the economy the way it is, it was suggested that I get an education to find a career and so that is way I am doing now. I feel discriminated against! Now, how many others have been done this way as well?

On March 26, 2009, we applied for a refinancing loan with Chase, our current mortgage company. Our credit score is 800. We submitted all the documents the loan officer requested the next day. We were pre-approved for a 4.873% interest rate on $567,000 loan. We currently pay $300-$400 extra every month towards the principal since we bought the house four years ago. We never missed a payment. I had to give them a check for $750 and they would lock in the rate for 60 days. He (Mac-loan officer) did say that if the bank delayed the process, then the rate would still be locked in past the 60 days. Also, if they declined us, we would get the $750 back. On Sept. 23, we were declined for the following reason: We got the final review done with underwriting and they have final declined your loan application. The maximum DTI debt to income with all the mortgage insurance companies is 41%. The DTI for this loan is 44.26%. I am sorry but the loan cannot be approved. Mortgage insurance is not available when the DTI exceeds 41% and there are no exceptions from the mortgage insurance companies. Also, since the CB will have future loss carry over’s per their accountant letter but dollar amounts are not estimated, it is impossible to accurately determine their income.

Comment from the loan officer (who could not even explain the declination): Maureen, this is a direct result of the lower appraised value that increased you initial LTV (Loan to Value) to a higher 85%. As you know, the appraised value came in lower than expected at $670,000 and the file had to be restructured within LTV guidelines. If this was under the 80% LTV limit, then the maximum allowed DTI would have been 45%. Due to the ratios above 41% DTI, we are unable to obtain MI mortgage insurance coverage for your loan. The only possible solution to obtain an approval would be if you decided to reduce your principal loan balance to be under 80%. I would estimate would be $33,500 plus closing cost would be roughly around $40,000 out of pocket, that would reduce your final DTI to be close to the maximum allowed 41%. Of course, this figure would need to be confirmed by underwriting. We are unable to offer the applicant credit for the following reason(s) adverse action reasons: One, excessive obligations in relation to income (44.26% above maximum 41% per MI) and two, unable to verify income.

We submitted our tax returns and our bank statements three times because they lost the previous ones, that is even a bigger concern. I called the bank every week for an update for six months. Then, we went on vacation which I informed them of weeks in advance and they told me the day before vacation we had to have our CPA explain why my husband sold his business three years ago. Also, they said I wasn't employed but I provided my W2's for the past several years. Our income is way above the ratio they mentioned. We could pay off the mortgage if we wanted to. They didn't mention that fact in the denial. How can they get away with this on so many loans? Even our loan officer told us we were one of many they were doing this to and he was very frustrated. This is their own employee agreeing with this unprofessional, discriminatory way of how they are treating their customers.

I filed for a mortgage loan modification in January 2009. It is now September 2009 and I am still waiting to find out if I qualify or not. I missed three payments and then went back to sending them $300 per week. Last week, I was told by some lady who called me that I was better off not making any payment as the money was sitting in a "suspense account" and not being applied to my mortgage! But she congratulated me because I had been approved for a loan modification in the amount of $868 per month and that I would be hearing from another department in the next two weeks. I then received the 25th phone call from yet another person in the collections department and he stated he did not see where I had been approved for any program that it was like when you are pre-approved for a credit card but then you can be denied? He also stated that it looked like I had too much debt to qualify for a modification but that a letter had been sent out but he did not know what the letter stated. He advised me to lie and reapply with my husband's salary listed even though we are separated!

Nine months of sending faxes and calling, etc. and I have gotten nowhere! My mortgage payment is $1,565 per month and I am sending $300 per week, I told him. He stated I should put the money in a sock drawer until I have a full payment saved and then send it in. I cannot believe they would not take partial amounts instead. They would rather see you fall further behind, it seems! What good is Obama's plan if I cannot get help at all!? I could go on and on as they call me at least two times a week wondering if I can pay them the past due balance of $4,500 today? If I had the money, I would not be past due, I tell them! I am emotionally spent on trying to save the house that I owe $60,000 more than it is worth! Chase is just blowing smoke. They do not want to work with the homeowners. They are just sitting back and reaping the profit the government is handing them! How many stories does the government have to hear before they act?

In January 2009, I contacted the refinance department - Maria ** in Arizona, I am not sure of the exact spelling of her last name. Anyway, she took the information for a refinance. I already had my mortgage with Chase and took $750.00 for appraisal, etc. After appraisal was done, 2 days later, a letter was sent denying me a refinance because of debt to income ratio. They took the money and ran, never considered any information. Plus, I already had the mortgage with them.

Then in July, I refinanced with another company, Pinnacle Mortgage. Pinnacle Mortgage was great. My loan closed on July 29, 2009. Chase was contacted for a payoff, which included the July payment. The payoff was correct at closing, etc. Chase was paid off and posted August 4, 2009. The loan closed on July 29, 2009. Out of my hands at that point. I took several weeks of hold ups because of Charter One not supplying paperwork needed to close the loan for 3 days. Anyway, this held up things to the end of the month.

Anyway, Chase is now rating me 30 days delinquent because the payoff didn't post until August 4th. They are not willing to change, investigate, nothing. It is what it is I was told. I did not find out about the negative rating on my credit until another company sent me information stating they were lowering credit limit and raising my interest rate because of it. Chase never notified me, never, that they were rating me 30 days late.

We have been dealing with Chase since March 2009 to have a loan modification done. We have sent paperwork at least three times. We have contacted Chase almost weekly with the status or looking for an update. We were told in June that they lost the file. Today, we were told that more documents were needed because the old ones had expired! Three sets of documents and now they are expired? I asked for a manager but was told that there was no one that I could speak to. I could only write a letter. I have been told this many times. I have also been told that our loan has to go to underwriting. But we were told by someone at Chase that per the Obama modification plan, underwriting is not necessary! Our credit score is in the mid 700's. We have never missed a payment nor have we been late. Both my wife and I are unemployed and that is the reason for the modification. We get the impression that each time we have to send documents, we are put back at the bottom of the pile. We also feel that because we are not in foreclosure that Chase is taking their sweet time to help us. Isn't it time for some action against Chase to get them to do what they are supposed to do?

On April 16th 2009, I applied for a refinance through Chase Bank under the Making Home Affordable Federal Mortgage Program. The mortgage consultant, Jeffrey **, approved me for a rate of 4.875% with 90 day rate lock. However, Chase required me to purchase 1.125 points plus $1,600 in additional closing costs and a non-refundable application fee of more than $300. I was not happy because I had other financial institutions offering me 4.75% with zero points (approximately $2000 difference). However, because of the Freddie Mac Stipulation, I had to use my original lender which is Chase.

I have an excellent credit score and originally put 20% down on my home. I am a single mother and that money was hard earned. However, because of the economic crisis caused by the financial institutions risky dealings, my home has lost value. So, I have to use the Making Home Affordable Plan to refinance. Therefore, I am forced to use Chase and take their price gouging/loan sharking. I immediately sent in all of the financial paperwork they requested and an appraiser came to my home 2 days after the application. Weeks passed I heard nothing. I called to check the appraisal. I was told they had not received it. One month in, I called Chase and got the same run-around. Two months in, I called and started complaining. They then miraculously located the appraisal which surprisingly came in unbelievably low. I asked to see it ASAP.

I’m no expert but I noted errors and asked for a dispute. I was told they would start a dispute over the appraisal the next day. I continued to ask about the results and never got any information. Chase then told me I would be denied the refinance or I needed to bring over $28,000 to close. I then received a counter-offer from Chase in the mail. The counter-offer would require approximately $21,000 plus closing costs. When I questioned Mr. **, he told me to disregard the counter-offer because they would be putting my loan back through processing at the $28,000 plus closing costs.

Wow, logic tells me the higher amount is not in my best interest and what happened to my dispute of the appraisal? In the meantime, I have had a certified appraiser look or the appraisal. The appraiser advised me to submit the appraisal into the Board of Appraisers as it contained multiple gross violations that cause me not to obtain a refinance. Question, don't they have someone at the bank that looks over the appraisal and notes these problems. I have submitted a complaint to the Board of Appraisals and put the appraisal of for investigation. I have also recently submitted a letter to James Dimon, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chase.

Now, 5 months later, in a declining market of one of the hardest hit states, Chase decides to send a second appraiser to my home. That was last week. Today, I get a call from Kelli **, stating that Chase wants to close on my refinance tomorrow. The catch is they now want me to pay over 3 points plus closing costs. She told me I could take it or leave it. I asked her for the terms in writing and also the interest rate without the points. She stated it would not be worth refinancing. However, she said she did not know the rate off the top of her head. She then told me all she needed was a yes or a no. Either I wanted the loan or not. Wow, I asked her to email me everything in writing and I would get back to her.

Guess what? I never got the email. I then called Chase refinance line and acted as if I was brand new. They pulled my credit report again and told me the rate of 5.625%. Plus, stated I am eligible for a streamlined process. Evidently, Chase's computer systems are not integrated because the guy had no idea I was already in the system. He also did not know that Kelli had just got finished trying to ram $8,000 in fees down my throat while he was quoting $1,945.

I have documented everything I've been through with this. I feel that the practices are questionable at the least. I believe that Chase has taken advantage of many homeowners. I believe the representatives of Chase have on multiple occasions attempted to steer/pressure me into a loan that is not in my best interest for their own financial gain (conflict of interest). I have asked questions that were not answered or the answers were not accurate. Since I am not going along with being railroaded, Chase is now trying to deny refinancing me. I would like information on class-action lawsuits

Also, here is the address for corporate to send your complaints to: JP Morgan Chase, Mr. James L. Dimon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Office of the Secretary 270 Park Avenue, 38th Floor, NY, NY 10017 and/or 2500 Westfield Dr., Elgin, IL 60124. I asked for these addresses from Chase representatives multiple times and was denied. I finally researched them myself. I want an attorney to contact me about my complaint. This has caused me financial harm, loss of savings over the life of the loan. It has also caused me great stress, anxiety, anger, frustration and hours upon hours of time spent trying to get a reasonable resolution.

I have been attempting to obtain a loan modification from Chase since Sept. 2008. The first time around, I sent in all the paperwork requested and waited as I was instructed. When I had heard nothing after several weeks - I called, only to find out that they had allegedly not received everything they needed. However, they failed to call me and inform me of this. So, I sent what they claimed to not have. I then waited again, and heard nothing. I followed up, repeatedly, and repeatedly, only to be told that it was "still in underwriting". In the meantime, what I had not been told originally was that the mortgage payments that I was continuing to make were now being held in a suspense account and they were not reporting accurate information to the credit bureau.

Finally, in December, I was told that I was "approved" for a modification. However, the modification they offered me, based on my circumstances did nothing to help my situation. At the same time, they were telling me that the new Obama plan was about to come into effect and that I could refuse this modification and submit all info again to apply under the new "rules." I decided to do this as, again, the modification they offered was not going to help me in terms of having an affordable payment. I submitted all info in April 2009. They told me it should take approximately 6 to 8 weeks this time.

It is now September 17, 2009 - 5 months later, and still no answer. The issue this time is that while this is going on, my credit is being completely destroyed. Every single payment has been made to this company. They are reporting to the bureau that I have not made a payment in months and they refuse to help. My credit cards are being closed and/or the limits are being reduced. I am suffering a severely lowered FICO score. All this for reasons that are not due to lack of payments.

My circumstances are not those of someone who went out and purchased a home for $700k and new cars, etc. and spent extravagantly. I was working as a mortgage underwriter several years ago making more than 2x what I make now. Back in August 2007, my company closed my division. At this same time, I found out I was pregnant. I quickly found another job making at the time at least $20k less than what I had just been making. Then, I had my daughter and went on maternity leave. I had to find daycare I could afford and where she would be safe. I found a new job and daycare - but, again, still making half of what I had been in the mortgage industry. I have struggled and struggled to make good on all my payments so that my credit did not get destroyed and here, in the attempts to do the right thing, my credit is now in the toilet.

I am told over and over there is nothing that can be done until the modification is either approved or denied - and then they will report all the payments I have been making. These people are causing me mental anguish beyond imagination. I have worked so hard to keep my credit score good, to make good on my debts and to be a decent member of society and it seems that more and more, I hear that the only way to get a modification done is to stop making your payments. This, to me, sounds like reverse logic, to be helping the people who have not been making their payments at all and to be hurting the loyal customers.

I worry all the time about the damage being done to my credit. This affects so many aspects of my life down to if my car breaks down and I need to buy a new one I can't because I would never be approved. I used to be an underwriter and I understand fully the long term ramifications of damaged credit. They say they will fix it in the end but, to date, Chase has not been upstanding so I do not fully believe that they will. I am worried how this will affect my future. It causes me worry and anxiety on top of the financial burden.

If I wanted to look for a better paying job, I am quite sure that right now I could not get one - if an employer were to run my credit, it would look terrible. My credit, to me, was something that made me feel good - it made me feel like I was on the right track. I could look at my score and feel confident that I was doing the right thing - and that in the case of an emergency, I knew that I had the credit power to not be stranded. But now, I do not have that cushion. All I have is the worry and anxiety that at any moment the next shoe may drop and I will be in an even worse situation.

Again, Chase is erroneously reporting late mortgage payments to the bureau and it is causing my score to plummet and other creditors to pull my lines of credit. It is unfair and leaves me feeling completely powerless. Please help and I do not know what else to do.

A large tree fell on my home on July 5th, 2009. Unfortunately, I had changed insurance companies two days before. The new insurance company had not yet notified WaMu that I had coverage. WaMu bought super expensive coverage from Assurant for me with annual premium of over $12k. WaMu required that the insurance proceeds ($24K) be issued to me and to WaMu. The insurance company sent two checks via overnight mail to WaMu in Florence, SC. WaMu required that I submit a package of documents before the proceeds would be sent to me. I had to submit the same documents six (yes, six) times before WaMu finally acknowledged receipt. WaMu had a 3rd party adjuster inspect my home. He reported that the re-construction was at 65%. I spent $15k of my money. No reimbursement from WaMu.

Finally, WaMu sent me the first check they had received from the insurance company. It was made out to me and to WaMu. They sent it to me without endorsement. Since I had already waited five weeks for any funds, I deposited the check into my bank account. Wachovia Bank discovered that the check was paid to both parties and refused to release the money to me. They offered an Indemnification Agreement, that if WaMu signed, they would release the funds to me. WaMu refused to sign it. Yet, they told me to sign it and then have Wachovia send the money to them. Yes, yet again. I agreed to do that. I asked WaMu for an account number so that Wachovia could wire the money to WaMu to speed-up the process. WaMu refused to give me an account number. I am not having to ask Wachovia to issue a check to WaMu - to then be sent to WaMu without any agreement that I will ever get it back.

This is after five weeks of trying to get the first dime of reimbursement. I have made over 40 calls to WaMu. None of the representatives have any extension number or email. Thus, each time you call back, you have to start over and tell the whole story again. They say they need two days for a response. I have asked each time to speak to a manager. They refused to let me speak to a manager and will not give me any name. This is what we get for the billions the US taxpayers gave to Chase to bailout WaMu. What a travesty. I wish someone would cause WaMu to go out of business. A horrible experience. I am sitting with a hole in my roof, covered by a blue tarp - out $15k of my money - all for 75 days now. Stay away from WaMu at all costs.

The offer Chase gave me was not attractive. So, I thanked them for their time and moved on to another well known refinancing company which offered me 4.75%. They gave me 72 hours before the offer expired. I decided to get the ball rolling and accept. The phone rang and on the line was a mortgage consultant from Chase. He stated that I was a "valued customer" and that "Chase does not want to lose my business", so on and so forth. I informed the Chase Rep. of my other offer. The Chase Rep. offers 4.625%, a lower rate. Great. I considered, also, the Union Plus program, which would pay my mortgage for up to 6 months should I become disabled or laid-off, and decided to go with Chase's offer.

I have 34% equity in the home, a good credit rating and have never been late for a single payment to Chase for 2+ yrs, now. In fact, I'm in better financial shape, now, than when I obtained my mortgage through Chase, initially. Well, after much added expense, stress, runarounds, multiple faxes, unanswered e-mails/phone calls, misrepresentations, and 9 months, I was denied today for a baseless reason. By denying me to pay them less, they've approved me to pay them more. I feel like greed's roadkill.

I am a computer consultant and had my contract ended in August 2008. I could not pay all my bills and my mortgage, so I let my mortgage slide as I looked for my next contract. I found it in November and called Chase (I also had a late home equity loan payment with my credit union) to try and settle up. Eventually, I dealt with Mr. Fiath **, who told me the only offer he had with me was a repayment plan. If I follow the plan and make each payment, I would be completely caught up by October 1, 2009. Today, Sept. 16, 2009, after making my last repayment plan payment earlier this month, I called Chase to verify my status. Keep in mind that during this repayment plan, I was not notified or informed of any kind by Chase of my status, payments or anything.

I called several times to be sure the payments were noted, but could never actually talk to my representative (Mr. ** was moved off of my account after the plan was set). Anyway, today, I was informed that yes, I was all caught up with my payment and would receive a normal monthly bill for October. However, I owed over $360.00 in late fees incurred during the repayment plan. These were the late fees I was charged each month because I was not caught up, so that repayment I made did not cover that months.

So in essence, Mr. ** and Chase had put me in a repayment plan that guaranteed they would get additional late fees from me until I caught up. Today, the first rep I talked to and Angel, who refused to escalate me any further, said they could not waive those fees. I asked them, quite clearly and several times, "Does a repayment plan that is supposed to get my account completely caught up actually make sense when additional late fees are added on each month and not taken into account in the plan?" Neither gave me an answer.

I tried to get mortgage assistance from Chase Home Finance at their prompting. I sent all my documents to them in April and never heard from them back. In August, I was told they forwarded my "package" to a federal agency and that I should wait for them to contact me. At the end of August, I was told that my Chase credit card account would jump in interest rate from 9.99% to 14.50% and my only option was to close my account and maintain these rates, which I did because now that they knew I was having issues pertaining to my mortgage which information they used to convince me to close my account.

I called back in September about my mortgage adjustment and they said I didn't qualify and was denied in April because I had an IRA which is 80 % less than last year and they only considered the first loan not the second or any other bills as criteria under this program. They also said I had equity in the property and they never called me once during this process that involved all my tax records for no reason. They then told me all my documents were destroyed on the denial.

All I got out of this process was having my mortgage transferred to their Imminent Default Department for no reason and a closed credit card account and none of my documents returned. When I asked them if my new arrangement on credit card rates could be sold off to others now that the account was closed, they could not answer. I think after today’s announcement that Chase Credit cards were experiencing high defaults is the result of the restructuring of their credit cards accounts for a year end charge off or which they intend on selling off at the first discrepancy on the account after November, thus ruining any interest rate arrangement and throwing its old customers to the collection wolves.

I also remind you that I am current on all my bills, yet they now group me with defaulters. I want guarantees that after all this scam help they offer ends they cannot sell off their old credit card accounts to the highest bidder based on information they received about the account holder illegally in my opinion. Please respond in a timely manner because these banks are getting ready for the final kill of the consumer.

After I requested mortgage assistance, they increased my credit card rate 5 points to prompt me to close the account and avoid the interest increase and maintain my 9.99 % rate after November. When I asked them what was special about November, they said they were consolidating or something to the effect. Then in today’s news, they announce that there are many delinquent credit card defaults in their company and they were looking at ways to "write it off". I think they are using mortgage information illegally and using that to group mortgage holders into a default status so they can sell the credit card accounts to collection agencies and clear the books for their shareholders at our expense. I want guarantees that they cannot sell arranged frozen rates to other companies at the end of the year and must keep them themselves.

Most recently, we needed a simple statement from Chase Bank, on their letterhead, saying we are current on our loan so that we can refinance our home loan through the VA. The assistant at the bank and the person at the home equity division both checked our records and confirmed that we are current, but they refused to produce a note saying we are. When we asked why, they said it was not their policy. All we asked for was a simple note to confirm what they said was true and they refused. The reason we need to refinance the home in the first place is due in large part to them adding extra fees on our loan.

Additionally, when we received a statement last month with a charge for using one of their debit cards, we reminded them we did not nor ever had a debit card from them. We closed our checking account with them. Within a week, we had a debit card from them in the mail saying how much they appreciated us as customers. A few short months before that, when we were not quite 30 days late on a payment for less than $500, a "customer service" representative called my wife at home and told her that if we didn't pay immediately, they would just foreclose our home and "How did we like that?"

Never mind, they have no right to do that, but really!? For being late on one payment for less than 30 days? Nearly everyone we've talked to or asked for help on one thing or another has been unbelievably rude. We are constantly working to find another reputable institution that will let us transfer our loan to them so we can be done dealing with Chase. I filed a claim with my insurance company in September and the insurance issued three checks. One in my name only and the other two in my name and Chase Mortgage. But in the process of me sending Chase the checks to get them endorsed, they sold my mortgage to a collection agency (Realtime Solutions). Chase told me in January that my loan was sold and wait until the collection agency contacts me, which was about February. So, I did everything that Chase told me to do with the two checks. And in February, Chase told me that the insurance check was credited to my account, but they could never show any account activity that showed this.

So, in March, I received a check which Chase endorsement, which was about $1,000 to start the repairs on my home and to get it up to 90% complete so that an inspector could come out and give a report to Chase. This happened and now they keep asking me for invoices from my contractor, which I have had to pay him out of pocket to get him to give me the invoices of work that needs to be done on my home. I think it's unfair for them to keep asking me for invoices from the contractor when he still has to complete the work. Every time I would send them something, they would ask for something else. I can't afford an attorney to help me so I am stuck. Chase is wrongfully holding my insurance check, which is supposed to be used for the repair of my home. It is now hurricane season again and my roof is still leaking. The new sheet rock that I repaired to get my home up to 90% done is getting wet. I just need some help from somewhere.

Later, they said, "sorry, we can't work with your sale or do what you have to do." Now, I'm homeless and not able to rent, not even an apartment because my credit got very hurt.

I have been a Chase Mortgage customer for years. I contacted Chase on 6/15/09. Chase Mortgage "Help for Homeowners Program" was one of the prompts on their automated phone system. Great! I thought maybe I could get some help for a loan modification since I had been a victim of the failing market due to the plunge in the construction industry. Chase instructed me to visit a website and download a Borrower's Assistance Form. The form detailed all the requirements and documentation needed to get things processed. I had completed everything. The form had now become a package. I then had to fax or mail it to MHA Program Fulfillment. I followed up with a phone call to verify they had received it, which they did. I followed up weekly.

The third week, I was told my documentation had not been reviewed yet and a case manager will contact me soon. I asked what is the time frame I can expect for closing. The response I got was "3 months. We are very busy and things are going slow due to the demand of loan mods. You can expect to go to closing in September." My response was "That is ridiculous" for it to take so long. I continued to call for the status on the loan mod weekly and they have not even called me. I had spoken with a woman named Sheena in the past, but on 8/24/09, I spoke with a fellow named Jay **. He stated my loan was declined due to the fact that my debt to income ratio was too high.

Brilliant! I'm dealing with a bunch of geniuses, a program created by the President Obama to help homeowners stay in their homes certainly does not work with Chase. Now what? I'm a customer of theirs and my credit is awesome. They can't help me as I slowly fall into deeper debt. This is wrong and something needs to be done about this.

Do not refinance with Chase! Below is a letter I just submitted to Chase customer care. I submitted an application in April with promise that could close in 3-6 weeks. Bottom line, 100+ days to process a refinance application and no end in site. Chase did not even start asking for information until 3 months into the process. Then, they asked for information I already provided. Bad, bad, bad. I have a credit score of 750+ and simple refinance. Response is that Chase is overwhelmed with applications and cannot process them. Hopefully, I'll get my application fee back, but doubt it.

I currently have an application with Chase to refinance my home and the application number is **. I submitted the application at the end of April 2009 via the phone with one of your mortgage consultants, Michael **. To date, my loan is still pending and I want to cancel my loan application and receive a refund of the $395.00 application fee. Chase did not process my application in a timely manner and has cost me four months of rising interest rates and higher mortgage payments. Moreover, I need an explanation of the recent credit activity to provide to my new lending institution. I submitted my application for a mortgage with Chase because I had a previous mortgage with Chase in 1998 and part of my current home loan is through Chase. Both experiences were positive and I was certain customer loyalty would ensure reasonable rates and a quick application process.

I specifically asked Mr. ** how long the application process would take and how soon I could close. He stated 3-6 weeks. This time frame seemed reasonable and was reinforced by the fact that my rate was locked in for 90 days. I detrimentally relied Mr. **'s misrepresentation and my previous experiences with Chase and chose to refinance with Chase over comparably priced competitors. I have now waited over four months, been asked for and provided the same information multiple times and found out that Chase is not able to process loan application in anything less than 100 days. I believe Chase is disorganized, unprepared for the volume of mortgage applications and the American consumer suffers.

Again, I want to cancel my application and need written confirmation that the application has been cancelled. Additionally, I request a refund of my $395.00 application fee since Chase did not process my application in a timely manner and was negligent in representing the application process and the handling of my application. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Chase to anyone and I will pursue my mortgage refinancing through more reliable institution.

We had dealt with Chase for over 8 years in a previous home then this one. We had never been late with a payment on the 1st home or this one. In 2004, my husband, after 18 years on the job lost his retirement and insurance. 3 months later, he was diagnosed with cancer. 6 months after that, he had a massive heart attack. We were left with $190,000.00 in uncovered medical bills. We had a home equity loan with Chase. Our home, between 2004 and 2006 reached just under $400,000.00 in value. The medical bills took payments until 2006, and then they threatened to put a lien on our home. They took financial information and agreed to a settlement. The "settlement" took almost everything we had available in credit, including credit cards and equity.

We had almost an 800 credit score. Larry was still working at this point and waiting to be 2 years cancer free so he could get a new job. We started at this point to refinance our 1st and 2nd together. I even offered to match funds. We got the runaround and the no’s. We were running out of money and in 2008, we did. We called Chase and they said we would be able to get a modification with a lower interest rate but they wanted to help us right then, and then proceed. They connected us with the modification department where they did a, don’t have the name on my tongue right now, sorry, where they postpone 3 payments. We had to be current to get this, which we were.

It was a weekend and I hadn’t gotten anything in writing and it had been 3 weeks. I was getting calls that we were late. When I would tell them what was going on, they would say they didn’t show it. I called the "modification" department back and they put me in touch with the supervisor (I have his name). He said "go have a relaxing weekend, you are getting collection calls they don’t know what we are doing here. You are fine.” To make this shorter, by the time we were 2 payments behind going on the 3rd, I called a supervisor in customer service. She told me the people I had been dealing with were in collections and worked in the same building as the ones that were calling us. They said to get everything in writing. I took a call from collections they asked me to fax them all of this paperwork and give her some money right then and she would hand carry the paperwork to modifications and speed it up. I said, after I had faxed the paperwork and had a proof of receipt, I would send her half of what she asked then when she sent me something in writing the 2nd half.

Well, the fax number was wrong. I called from the annex and got the right one from her, gave her money, which was to clear the board, based on the fact that we should not have been making payments anyway. Over the next 2 months, I spoke with 5 "supervisors" faxed almost 100 pages and ended up with phone calls saying they were the case manager or supervisor, and finding out that no one was who they said they were. We had decided to file bankruptcy against the credit cards and medical bills as all of our money, including our retirement was gone. We wanted to keep the house and the car (also with Chase). I even told them the date, which is funny because the next call I got from a gentleman that hardly spoke English left me 2 voice mails (this followed a call from a supervisor saying they could not return calls or give anything in writing. All had one thing in common, send more money and they would take care of the new loan). The 2 voice mails said we had to call him as he was the Chase manager for Temecula mortgage and that Chase had given him until midnight on the, yep, same date I gave them that we were filing bankruptcy.

I researched his phone number; it was the same number as the collection calls from 3 other "loan supervisors". At this point, we could not do anything else. We filed and I know our interest rate had dropped a lot. We had also set aside 2 small amounts of the loan to lock in smaller rates. I had those payments locked. I could not sign anything from this point on or I would lose the protection of the court. I did want to get the current payment amount so I could continue making payments. I took a folder containing the last 2 faxes all the information showing we had never been late until they made us late with their lies and asking that someone call me with the current payment amount.

I went to the mortgage bank, no one was in the office but a slot was there. I left the package with a written note asking them to call if it was the wrong place and they could mail the packet back to me. All I needed was the payment amount for that month. I never heard back from them. I continued making the 2 lock payments. A few weeks later, a letter went to my attorney for me, asking me to sign a form allowing them to send me statements. The attorney wrote a letter saying "we highly recommend you not sign this, it can be considered a re-negotiation and they can take away your protection and proceed with foreclosure as soon as we close, and we would owe the money even if we lost the home. It was another lie. I have continued to make the lock payments. But if not for the lies and manipulative methods to get money, we would have had a modification and a payment record with no lates.

Because of lies and manipulation, we became late for the first time. Money was paid to people that were not who they said they were because that’s where they made their money. This put us in a position where we may still have to walk away from our home. We are in our 60's, Larry got a new job with good insurance and works hard, but so some people in a collections department pretending to be supervisors, case managers, and playing games with people’s lives we may be out of our home with no possibility of ever having another. Even if our 1st TD continues to work with us, the loan with Chase puts us in a place where our house may never be worth what we owe.

After reading an array of complaints against Chase, a.k.a. WaMu, concerning the unnecessarily delayed processing and ultimate denial of refinancing loans to consumers with immaculate credit scores, there appears to be a very obvious pattern of deliberate deceit and calculated bad faith on the part of anonymous Chase representatives. I too have paid the $750 fees to initiate a Chase-solicited conventional home refinancing loan and have submitted all requested supporting documents. I've been waiting since May 5, 2009 for the pre-approved locked in refinancing loan to fund. Nothing has changed in my circumstances or exemplar credit history. The only info I can receive from my cavalier loan officer is "We're working on it and expect it to close next week." I remain in refinancing purgatory.

From my point of view, even a first year law student can easily determine Chase representatives have not processed this loan in good faith. I'm absolutely amazed that this is allowed to continue and on such a recurring basis, especially when the pattern is so blatantly clear. Over $30,000 was paid to reduce the balance on a subordinated second loan (Chase Home Equity) to ensure the appropriate Chase loan-to-debt ratio was clearly within identified qualifying parameters.

This restarted the whole process rather than just updating what I had already done. On July 10, 2009, I called to check the status and was told to resubmit additional documents, which were duplicates of documents that I had already submitted. Today is Sept. 6, 2009 and after the last phone call, I was told that it would be 3 more weeks. When I initiated this process, my credit score was in the excellent range. Due to job loss and rising utility bills, my score is dropping. Will they be held accountable for this or is it like all bank transactions - tough luck for the little man? After much calling and no response, until I learned to ask for my loan modification representative's supervisor, I finally started getting calls back. The calls were assuring me they were working on my file. In August 2009, I again called Mamie **, my file worker, and was told "Congratulations, Chase Bank has qualified your mortgage to receive a three month trial payment plan." I asked her to explain the plan to me and it is this:

We pay $2,185.48 for three months and then Chase renegotiates our income and then adjusts our mortgage to 31% below our income. We had been paying our monthly mortgage of $2,383.35 a month faithfully. We wondered what the purpose was regarding the trial payment plan, but the payment amount was less so for our September mortgage, we paid the new amount. Also, when Mamie had congratulated me, I was told the paperwork was ordered and would be sent out to me on Monday. I don't know what Monday she was referring to because we have not received anything from Chase Bank but grief.

After waiting for a couple of weeks for the mysterious paperwork to arrive, I called Mamie's extension and she is no longer with the loan modification at Chase Bank. She left a new extension number, to which I called and guess what? I got a voicemail. Kimberly ** extension ** said she prefers to email **. I emailed her and my response was that their systems are being updated and she can't help me until Friday. On Thursday, August 4, 2009, I received a call from my husband at work. Chase Bank has sent us paperwork, they are suing us for failure to pay our mortgage for the months of June, July and August. I immediately called our bank, Mission Community Bank of San Luis Obispo, CA.

They faxed me copies of the canceled checks for the months of June, July and August which had our mortgage account number clearly noted on the memo line with the Chase Bank stamp clearly noted on the back, meaning they had cashed our mortgage payment. We now have a court date on September 22, 2009 in Santa Barbara, CA.

My husband and I have been trying to buy a home in the La Grange, California area since March 2009. We found a house with acreage that we both loved. Since we are Chase customers, we decided to apply for a mortgage loan with Chase. Chase pre-approved us for $180,000. The house was within this limit and we were paying 20% down. We thought that it would be smooth sailing. We were scheduled to close on May 15, 2009. May 15th came and went without a decision. We filed for 2 extensions of escrow, then we were finally told that the house was atypical and the "comps" used by the appraiser were not adequate. The house was a 1900 sq. ft. round house on a 2.5 acre lot. They could not compare it to traditional rectangular homes with similar square footage and acreage because it was round.

We finally gave up on this property and found another house down the street from the round house. The second house was selling for $20,000 less than the first property. Once again, we did not meet the closing date and have filed for 2 extension of escrow. In the meantime, our original loan officer no longer works for Chase and our loan work has been moved to Grants Pass, OR which is 3 hours away from where we currently live. Now we are hearing that once again, their underwriters are having issues with the comps. They didn't like the adjustments that the appraiser made. The Grants Pass office tried to get a waiver on the appraisal, but that was shot down. Now we are approaching the end of the 2nd escrow extension with no resolution.

The funny part of this is the home we are attempting to buy is a WaMu/Chase foreclosure. They already own this property and their underwriters can't approve a reasonable loan so they can move this property. When this loan falls through, we will be closing our accounts with Chase and finding a bank that is more in tune with the needs of their customers.

I modified our sub-prime loan from 7.25% down to 6%. We have a letter from Chase stating the change was to take effect on 9/1/08. The representative asked me to continue making the higher payment reflected on our monthly statement until the paperwork filtered through to their mortgage dept. He said that the overpayment would then be applied to our principal as a pay-down. Finally, on 4/1/09, our coupons reflected the new interest rate. We received a check from Chase for a refund for an overpayment for only 1 month, so we overpaid by over $300 for five months. I called and got referred around so many times that I ended up where I started. Then I got referred to customer service, where a recording would say, "Please hang up" and then disconnect the call.

I sent three letters by certified mail and only one was received. Finally, in lieu of making our August payment, I sent a letter describing how they already have enough of our money to cover the payment. I sent this letter with the coupon asking that someone call me to discuss and clear up the discrepancy. Instead, we were sent a late notice reflecting a late charge. I called again, twice and finally got through to Ileana **, a customer service supervisor. She was apologetic, said our case was being researched in the modification department, but that those people only communicate by fax or mail. She promised to follow up herself and call me back within 24 hours. This didn't happen. She had given me her direct line. I called it and left a message. No return call. I called the FTC and registered a complaint and have left a message with RESPA. The FTC rep. told me that if enough complaints are registered that they will have their attorneys investigate. Here are the numbers: FTC: 1-877-653-4261, RESPA 202-708-0502, and HUD 1-800-569-4287.

Less than two weeks later, the Sheriff Deputy dropped off the foreclosure papers again. We have yet to even get an answer as to why we had our last forbearance payment rejected, and now the last time I called, I was accosted for asking too many questions. I asked to speak to someone else and was transferred to a supervisor who didn't answer the phone. We are very upset and concerned because Chase has yet to answer any of our questions. Oh and their computer system seems to go down quite often too. Is this really happening?

I have 2 mortgages with Chase and have been trying to combine them for almost 1.5 years. First is $115,000 at 5.5% and the second, $99,000 at 8.75% interest. When we got the second loan, we were informed at signing that we would be able to combine them after 6 months to a lower rate approximately 6 or 6.5% on the total of both. Each time I have tried to combine, I have been told by many of their reps (I have all their names and the dates I spoke to them) that we do not make enough to refinance or get a modification although we have never paid a bill late or defaulted on anything. We both have credit scores in the high 770's. I can not fathom how a monthly saving on our mortgage payments of approx $400 would be a burden to our family.

The last time I tried to get a modification, this past month, nothing changed. I was told the same thing by Anthony, who actually seemed to really care and took several days to get back to us with many phone calls in between. Again, we can not afford to save on our mortgage. Who makes these rules? Chase? Now the kicker. This week, I received my credit card bill from Chase. We have a 3.82% for the life of the balance of $10,100 that is left. We have been paying this off every month at a rate of 2% of the balance - at this time, approximately $181 per month. I never only pay the minimum, so we have been sending $200 plus the present month's interest charges of approximately $33. Chase just increased the minimum amount due to 5%, $506 per month.

Now if we can not afford to pay our bills per Chase, how are we supposed to come up with an extra $300 per month? When I called, I thought it was an error. I was informed that they can do that and if I wanted to go back to paying 2% of the balance, it was not a problem. All I have to do is agree to a 7.99% interest rate for 23 months and then the rate would go up to 18.49% in August 2011. Does this sound fair to you? How can they force me out of our original agreement 3.82% for life to 7.99% for 23 months? They claim that they sent me a notice back in June, which I never received or I would have raised cane back then.

I was also informed that if I do not pay the escalated minimum due, I would be in default of the original agreement and the rates would go much higher on not only their card but any other cards I have an outstanding balance on. How can that be? The family of Chase Banks seem to be more like a family of organized loan sharking, raising our minimums to a point they know we cannot pay and then defaulting us. My husband and I have never paid a bill late or bounced a check. Even when times are tough in our business, we are home remodelers, we would rather sell some of our possessions to pay our bills than be late on them. We are people who continue to pay even on a hardship just to keep our good credit and names. Now we are forced by this bank to default just so they can get more out of us.

Our opinion is that Chase realizes that we are on the brink and they are going to help by giving us a push. Therefore, they not only get us to default on their credit card account, but other cards will follow with higher repayments forcing us to go into bankruptcy. Now since we have over $100,000 in equity in our house and they know it, they can now force us into foreclosure and get our home. Is this what was supposed to happen in the stimulus package? Forcing even more families into bankruptcy? Is what they are doing legal?

It has been 4 months since my wife and I started to renegotiate terms with our mortgage. The plan was to consolidate our first mortgage and home equity line. It took at least a month and a half before we received a return phone call. We were informed everything "looked good.” We received minimal amount of paperwork and no options. Our appraisal came in low. The bottom line is they have my $750 and want $5,000 from us to close. We are out $750. We requested documentation as to their findings. We are losing a lower interest rate, which will cost us thousands of dollars. We cannot combine our equity line, which can become difficult to manage with rising interest rates. That will cost us thousands of dollars, and prolong our mortgage. All this and we have done business with Chase Bank since 1998. They hold the original mortgage and home equity line. This is a big scam to get your $750 deposit.

About a year ago, my mother's homeowner insurance lapsed so Chase added it to the monthly escrow payment, which was $318.22 per month for homeowner’s insurance. Since I pay her mortgage payments, it was a little distressing. This past May of 2009, after I took control of her finances, she was able to secure her own, much less expensive insurance through AARP ($36.40/month! thank you!). The Chase payment amount never decreased even though Chase confirmed to me on the phone that they had acknowledged the new insurance company. So, silly me, I figured the lack of change in the escrow payment had something to do with past property tax debts until this week. My mother received a copy of her annual tax bill, which was a whopping $450. We did the math. I've been paying over $300/month for 4 months to cover a $450 tax?

I called Chase today and asked the teller what exactly the escrow payment is covering. She said Property Tax and Homeowner's Insurance. Whoa! I told her that we pay our own insurance to which she immediately replied, "Oh, it says here that you do but it was never applied to the payments." So, she said that Chase would be sending a refund check (which had better be at least $1,272!). Then, when I asked about us paying our own property tax in order to remove it from escrow, she said that this was impossible and that the tax will be applied for the life of the loan, which is fine. It is just one less thing for mom to deal with.

To make a very long story short, because I have told this to so many I thought were going to help, I gave the bank last Feb. $70,000. They said they would modify our loan. My husband had to have emergency. We sold everything to get this money to them. Then they said, "We can't help; You're disabled." We complained. It was sent to Senator Feinstein's office who then forwarded it to the office of the Comptroller of Currency on Aug. 27. I received a 3-day notice that it had sold at auction. They gave me no notice of this sale and they did not record it with our county as an auction but their trustee deed upon sale say it was bought at a public auction by Deutsche Bank.

I know this is fraud. I was served with a summons to go to court which I will gladly do. I'm not leaving my home without a fight. I have been through hell trying to stay. I have all the documents to back it up so people don't give up. I can't even find an attorney with the guts to take the bank on, so I will go it alone. Banks are not working with the people at all. They sold our $300,000 home for $98,000 but they would not work with us to keep it, and, oh yes, another bank buys it. I don't think so. Wish me luck and good luck to all who try to save theirs to fight back. Please let your voice be heard. Kick, scream, anything, please.

I have a home mortgage with Chase. I pay the HO insurance myself - it is not escrowed. I recently changed HO insurance companies. The new insurance company sent the information to Chase, but Chase never recorded it. In the meantime, they thought I had no HO insurance, so they took out an insurance policy on my home themselves (at a premium over 300% more than what I was paying), created an escrow account and then drafted my checking account for an extra monthly payment of $362. I had no clue that this was being done.

What infuriated me even more is that it took forever to get them to realize that I had insurance all along and what they did was totally unnecessary and that I was due the escrow refund. They were supposed to start processing my refund on August 3rd and said I would receive it within 15 business days. Fifteen business days came and went, so I called again only to be told that the process had not yet begun. Not only had they not begun the refund process, but they were going to draft my account for the overage again in September. Then, they told me that I would have to go to my personal bank to get the draft stopped because they could not do it in a timely manner, which was a boldface lie because after I screamed at them they somehow got the draft stopped - go figure!

During that same call I was told that my refund would be overnighted. On Monday, I still did not have my refund, so I called again asking why I had not received it. They told me it was "in process" and again I would have to wait 15 business days. Total incompetence! I'm still out $362 and there’s no sign of when I'm going to get it. Since they have essentially "borrowed" the money from me, they should pay me interest and a penalty for not returning it when they said they would. After all, they're charging me interest for borrowing money from them and I can assure you I would have to pay a hefty amount if my payment was late! Fair is fair. I noticed Chase has extended their customer service hours. I'm guessing it's because they have so many complaints!

It took me until August after constant calling and emails to find out the documents were lost and if found, would be stale and have to be redone, which I did.

I got an unsigned form/boiler plate letter from Chase on 8/8 telling me things I would need an attorney to interpret as I sent all I was asked for. I complained to Freddie Mac who had some VP email me telling me he would forward my complaint to someone to handle. I also talked to Robin ** of Freddie Mac who said she would follow up as it was Chase, the servicer, who lost all my documents. I got a call on 8/20 from a ** from Chase in Florida who told me I do not qualify for modification because I had more than 3 months of cash reserves. I told him I anticipated what was coming and this was money I saved in escrow for mortgage, real estate taxes, insurance and medical and would be happy to put it toward the principal of my loan to reduce it. He said "You cannot do that!"

They left me hanging for over 5 months, then told me I have to resend the documents, run a credit check which affects my excellent credit rating, charge me a service fee as if I were asking for a conventional loan and have the gall to tell me I do not qualify for modification. Despite the fact that I am on SS and after paying my current monthly mortgage, taxes/insurance, I have $177 to buy food, pay utilities, medical, etc.

I am still waiting for the letter Mr. ** of Chase said he would send explaining why I was being denied. I am just sick and tired of trying to be financially responsible. My excellent credit rating has got me nowhere. Trying to reduce my mortgage payments to a level I could handle on a fixed income did nothing. I did all the economist said to do, save enough to pay the mortgage, taxes, and insurance to cover you for as long as you can. I sacrificed much to save the "cash reserves" which were intended for mortgage, taxes, and insurance only to be told I had too much? And I cannot use that money for what it was intended?

I have not purchased any new clothes in 7 years, drive a 16 year old car that barely runs, have not over extended any credit cards, have not taken any vacations in over 14 years, and always paid all my bills on time! If I did not have an ailing 85 year mother to support, I would just let everything go to hell and get a shopping cart! I am not on SS because of age, it is for medical reasons, I cannot work. I guess this is what you get for trying to be financially responsible, saving for hard times. Those banks who took all our tax money to bail them out are the same ones still trying to bleed us further. In my opinion, they are worse than Madoff! He took his money from mostly the rich.

I have inquired with brokers/banks, and because of my fixed income, it will be almost impossible to refinance, let alone at a rate to reduce my mortgage payments to a level I can afford without excessive fees/charges. Too bad Obama let the foxes who were bleeding and killing us all along in charge of the hen house! Those moneys grubbing Madoffs who took all our tax money to bail them out are just bleeding us further so we all lose our houses and let this economy go into the toilet so they can live high on the hog! What the heck are they going to do when they own all these houses of those who were financially responsible and they cannot find anyone to buy them because they bled all of us dry?

I would try and sell my house because I do have equity, but where do I go? I have an elderly parent who needs medical equipment to be concerned about. I could and will probably live on the streets someday. I will be 65 in a few days, but the only thing I can say is who in the hell made up the golden years? It is the horror years! I tried to prepare, I did not plan on illness or losing my job or living on SS so soon. I have no alternative at this time but to sell at a loss and hope I get enough to live somewhere where I can still take care of my mom for as long as she lasts. After that, I will use a shopping cart and live as best I can in a tent on my remaining SS.

All banks are nothing more than "Madoffs" in disguise! I still do not understand why Freddie Mac who acknowledged receipt of my application 1126 in April of 2009 has thrown me to the vultures and making me start all over again only to screw me further. I will tell my kids, anyone I know. Do not be financially responsible. It gets you nowhere. It makes me want to try and get anyone with a mortgage to just stop paying it for several months to see just how the banks/Madoffs respond. Just what in the hell would they do if we all just stopped paying? Talk about a drop in the housing market, think our economy can handle that? Maybe if they had to worry about paying for their luxury cars, extravagant vacations etc., pay check, it may get their attention?

I, too, have had problems with Chase Mortgage. I had been a customer with Chase Mortgage for a previous house, which I sold, and my present house, which I built in 2006. My appraisal when built was $370,000 and my mortgage was $250,000. When mortgage rates dropped, I called Chase and told them I'd like to do a refinance and was told I could do a "streamline" refinance. I was asked what I thought my house was worth and told the lady that I had a high appraisal 2 1/2 years ago and figured I should still be somewhere in the $350,000 range. I'm not a real estate professional. My credit score was checked and it was 777. I sent them $395.00 for a non-refundable application fee after I was told there should be no problem. I did not foresee a problem as I live on a road where no homes are for sale.

Chase sent out an appraiser, who was not familiar with my area and is notorious for low appraisals. He appraised my house at $290,000, used a barn 6 miles away as one of the comps and other houses over 10 miles and 2 cities away for other comps. Chase advised me to call him and even after several phone calls to him, where he said he'd look into it, he did nothing to reevaluate my property. My footage was wrong, he missed a fireplace, number of exterior doors was wrong, etc. I complained to Chase Mortgage and was told to find my own comps. Not being a real estate professional, I hired my own appraiser, who totally was blown away by the first appraisal and found better, more suitable comps (no barns). I submitted them to Chase Mortgage to no avail.

Chase Mortgage would not accept what I had paid out of my own pocket for even though that's what they requested. Chase Mortgage denied my refinance with the excuse that no PMI was available because I live in a declining market. The original loan originator should have been able to tell me there was going to be a problem as soon as I gave her my zip code. I've asked for my $395.00 application fee to be returned as I was upfront and did all I should have done for them, including doing the appraiser's job. They keep on giving me the same crap that they have reviewed the tapes of my conversation. I've been calling the phone numbers they gave me to request a copy of that conversation, but they never return the call.

I think if one does the numbers, $300 for the average appraisal from $395 or more from what I've read on other complaints, times 1,000,000 applications would net Chase Mortgage several hundred million dollars free money. I did by the way secure a refinance from another company with no, that's right, no application fee and fewer charges than what Chase was going to charge. It all makes sense in retrospect now. Why would they charge a current customer who has a high credit score and always pay more than the minimum, always on time, unless they knew they were going to screw him? I'm not going to stop until they yield!

We received a flyer by Chase to refinance our home in April with attractive rates, and we contacted the office. Currently, our loan is at 6%, a loan we had since July 2008. We contacted the office and locked in a 4.75% for 90 days. We paid a fee around 700%, and our house was estimated higher than last year's, a value of double the amount we seek for re-financing. As we have our current mortgage at Chase as well, there is with the higher house value even less risk than last year. We submitted income and savings information, and we got from Chase a message that our credit rating was excellent and that the contract is in the underwriting department.

Since then, we have been waiting for a closing date, but we haven't gotten any progress. In August 6, my husband wrote to Senior Loan Consultants that our 90-day lock is expiring soon. They promised to extend the lock for another 30 days. As August is ending, these 30 days will be over soon as well. We are wondering if Chase is stalling customers, as the mortgage rates have been going up steadily since we agreed on the locked-in rate.

Our financial situation is very hard for us right now, and we are trying to pay things off. And as with most, we are having a hard time making ends meet. We called Chase and started the refinance process on April 17. After being interviewed by F. for a loan at 4.5%, we were told how much money we were going to save. This all started in early April. It just turned into one problem after another, constantly requesting paperwork. Then after 3 months after I contacted the following people at Chase - J. (Affinity Sales Supervisor) and T. (Chase Media Relations), I was told my paperwork was still being processed.

One more month went by, and the officer called and said the loan was with the underwriters and that we would hear news by the end of week. We were into week 3, and we got no news. I got a call from J. and was told my loan officer no longer works for Chase and my loan did not get approved due to high debt-to-income ratio.

My credit is now lower than when I started this process back in April. When I started the whole loan process, all looked good. We are assured there should be no problems. Of course, they have my $750.00 fee for leading me on (non-refundable). It's all a shame; they got some of my money, and it really never mattered to them if the loan was approved or disapproved. I'm a Chase member, and I have never missed a bill or my current loan.

It's very disappointing on August 19 when I got a call from J. letting me know that after 4 months of processing, my loan request was denied. My mother back in Trinidad spent over a 100 in fees and time at the US Embassy to complete the paperwork that was requested by Chase's underwriting department. I sent some people email, and no one has responded.

On April 9, 2009, I contacted Chase Home Finance for a mortgage refinance. Mr. Ian **, the Senior Mortgage Consultant, told me since I had a good credit rating (808) and since I was refinancing at Chase, I would be on a "fast track" to complete the paperwork. I would have dealt with another bank for the mortgage, but I assumed that there would be less delay in dealing with the original mortgage holder. Much to my surprise, I have been waiting for almost six months. As I mentioned, my credit rating is listed as excellent and I never had a late nor missed payment with any company that I had business with. Every time that Chase asked for additional documentation, I forwarded it immediately to them.

Three weeks ago, I nearly cancelled the refinancing after they asked for another copy of my equity loan note with Wachovia. I had called Wachovia and they stated that Chase never originally requested information from them until two months after I applied for the refinance. After numerous phone calls, emails from me and delays by Chase, I still did not have the mortgage complete. I waited three weeks and received nothing other than their email on receiving the documentation. Since I will be going on vacation and would be away for most of September and October and after waiting for almost six months, I felt that Chase Bank was not interested in completing the loan and I had lost the opportunity to take advantage of the low interest rate prevalent at the time I started the paperwork.

I emailed Mr. ** and requested, because of the outrageous delay, to return my original deposit of $750. He emailed me that he was canceling the loan and would return only $350. My son had applied for a refinance from Wells Fargo in June and had his loan completed early August. I have a copy of every email I sent along with the requested documents. I also have a log of every telephone conversation with Mr. **. It is most ironic that Chase Bank, that has been saved by taxpayers' dollars, now so poorly treats its customers.

We were forced into bankruptcy 2 and 1/2 years ago. After the closing of the case, we found out that our home loan was not reaffirmed as we had requested. We contacted our lawyer who informed us that Chase had not sent the paperwork until the day that the case closed and that it was too late to do anything. We did some further checking and found that the case could be reopened and the paperwork filed so we talked to our lawyer again and he agreed to do this. He even agreed to pay the fee himself because he had not taken care of this earlier. We went in and signed the paperwork which he then sent back to Chase for their signature.

The next week, we received a call from Terri ** stating that the paperwork was not filled out correctly and that she was sending blank forms back to me and that I should call her when I received it so she could walk me through the correct way to fill them out. I received the forms, called Terri, made notes of what she wanted and returned to the lawyer's office. The lawyer told me that it will not go through the way that she wanted it filled out and that since their office is in CA and we are in KY, there may be some differences. So, he tried to call Terri but can only got a recording. Terri never returned his call so we tried to call her. She told us that she cannot make outside calls (so how did she manage to call me about the first set of forms being filled out incorrectly?) and that is why she did not return the call.

To make a very long story shorter, we have been fighting with Chase and our lawyer for over two years trying to get the reaffirmation filed and have had no luck. So although we have never been late on a payment, we are not getting any credit history for it and since we are on an adjustable rate, we wanted to take advantage of the low interest rates and get a fixed rate but no one will touch it since it was not reaffirmed. We have reached a point where we just don't know what to do.

Since November 2008, my wife and I have been trying to purchase my mother's house before she foreclosed on it. When our lender had an appraisal done on the home, it appraised for less than the payoff on the loan, at which point my mother contacted Chase about a short sale. They informed her about the short sale process and instructed her on what paperwork needed to be done on her end, as well as ours, for the short sale to happen. In February 2009, we submitted a new contract for the appraisal price and my mother handled the needed things on her end.

It is now August 2009, and we have not received any response from Chase at all. Our realtor has called and left messages, no response. My mother has called and tried to get some answers, no response. I have tried calling and getting answers, no response. We would very much like to purchase my mother's home to prevent her from losing it, as well as keep the home in the family but with Chase dragging their feet, be it because of the large number of foreclosures and short sales or simply them exemplifying the problem with lenders that home owners have expressed about banking institutes, I fear that we will miss out on the chance to save my mother's house and be first time home owners.

If we can get a "Yes," we can purchase the house or a "No, we will not sell the house," it would be wonderful so that we can move forward with our American Dream, being a home owner.

We had a modification done back in January 2009. OK, that wasn't what we expected. Our interest went from 9% to 8%. They stated that they would be placing our January and February loan payments within our unpaid balance, which is the total amount of our loan. Our first payment was to be due in March. So what happened? Well in the month of February, we called to pay our March payment and that was supposed to have been applied. When March came, we were going to be falling back on paying April's payment. I spoke to a female on March 16th and she stated that being that we were not past due, we would have to call back in April to set up payment arrangements. That was fine with us.

So April 8th 2009 comes around and they set up a payment arrangement for us. They took our April's payment and broke it into 3 months, part of April's in May, June and July. That was fine. So we asked, if we come up with all of the April's payment before the scheduled payment dates, can we pay it early? They said yes. They gave us confirmation numbers and everything. So on May 28th, that's exactly what happened. We came up with the April's payment and called in and paid it off. Okay, June comes around and we got a call stating that we are due for April and May. We are like hold up, we paid April's payment. They stated that the payment made on May 28th was applied to March. What?! That was not correct at all because in February, we made our March payment. That's when all of the trouble begins.

They took March payment and applied it to February and April's and applied it to March. I asked, "How could you all do that when January and February were applied to our loan amount?" They transferred me to several departments and all of them didn't know what to do. My account is still incorrect as of today, August 24, 2009. I called them again for the one thousandth time this time, asking for corporate number and the guy got rude with me and said "That won't happen." Then, he transferred me to a supervisor's answering machine. They keep sending us letter stating foreclosure soon because we are close to 4 months behind, when we are supposed to be only 2 months. They have yet to fix the issue, but have the nerves to say they "See the problem and we will have our research department to look at it." But this has been since June and nothing has been fixed.

Chase stole $750.00 from us on 05-13-09. We called Chase to refinance 2 loans we have had with them for years. The interest rate was the lowest it has been in forever, 4.75%. We have a home mortgage and a 2nd mortgage with Chase that we have had for years with them. We wanted to refinance to roll both loans into one payment. We were told no problem, we had to pay the $750 upfront and charge it to a credit card. They had the appraiser come out. We were told no problems. Then, we were told it was in underwriting and their underwriters were understaffed and behind due to the large volume of customers. We had to fax them more info than they already had, again. We were told it was still in underwriting and we would know something soon.

Then, we were told the appraisal didn't come back enough, but we knew that wasn't true because we had a copy of the appraisal and it was way above what we needed to borrow, which was the same amount we had owed for years. We finally got a call today, 08/21/09, telling us we were denied due the appraisal was not enough. I believe Chase is committing/committed fraud, especially since I have read the same complaints and same stories online. Chase had no intentions of refinancing anyone's loans at that percent. Chase just wanted to make money off of people's desperation to try to save their homes. They have made a profit of $750.00 off of every person who has tried to refinance from them and has made it so it is nonrefundable.

Things are tight and we are trying to pay things off, and as with most we are having a hard time making ends meet. So we go through the refinance process with Chase, our interviewer being Dana **. This all started in early April, it just turned into one problem after another, constantly requesting paperwork already provided, then saying the loan was not approved because we hadn’t submitted the paperwork (for the 3rd time). We got angry at Dana and Chase said disregard that declined notice, they have all the paperwork and it’s being processed. Two more months went by and the appraisal is still not done, can you imagine 4 months and no contact or updates and failure after failure for Chase to return any calls.

After 4 months, we did speak with Chase 3 times, only because of our persistence. Well first week of August, a loan officer called and said the loan is with the underwriters, we will hear news by end of week. We are into week 3, no news. I called my Chase loan contact, Dana **, I got a recorded message saying he is no longer with the company anymore and if we have any questions call his former supervisors number. I called that number, of course it’s a recording. I gave the loan number and stated I wanted to know what’s going on.

Two hours later, my wife got a call from the supervisor stating Dana had resigned, our loan was not approved (to high debt to income ratio), goodbye, click. My ratio was lower now than when I started this process. When I started the whole loan process, all looked good; we are assured there should be no problems. Of course, they have my $400.00 fee for leading me on (non-refundable). It’s all a shame, they got some of my money, and it really never mattered to them if the loan was approved or disapproved.

I’m a Chase member. I have never missed a bill or not paid (I’m 54). How could it have hurt them to make it easier for someone to be even more financially responsible? I’ve talked to a lot of resources recently, and here is the bottom line with "all” of them, if I haven’t paid my bills or if I’m in foreclosure, I can get help! Crazy as it may seem I’m trying to pay my bills and not foreclose or declare bankruptcy. I’m just plain mad at the system.

Unfortunately, I assumed that that meant all had been taken care of.

On 8/4/09, I received an automatic email from my bank that another mortgage payment had been drafted from my account. I immediately called Chase and they assured me that they could put the payment directly back into my bank account within 3 days. On the third day, I called and the story had changed to "We're very sorry for the inconvenience, but we can no longer access this account since it is closed. You'll receive the money within 21 days of your closing date." Oh, and after being hung up on a few times (I was on a landline) and being transferred back and forth between departments for a total of 5+ hours, they offered to overnight the check when it was released in order to expedite it. I also told them that the address they had on file was wrong and gave them the new one, but they still FedEx'd the check to my old address.

I received the check today, and it was still short of that mortgage payment (it was only the amount that they had confirmed was an escrow refund). I called to get information and spoke with a Mary who was unable to connect me with a supervisor because s/he was busy on the phone with other clients; however, she was able to seek advice from this supervisor when she placed me on hold. I told her that I would wait for her supervisor, and she put me on hold, but then I was abruptly disconnected after she confirmed that I would like to wait longer (again, from a landline). I called back and the department was closed for the day.

He took down all my information and said I was pre-qualified and all I needed to do was give them a fee of $750.00 and they would lock the rate in for 60 days. I sent him all of the documents he requested and waited for an answer. He said the loan should close in about 60 days. From that point forward, I never heard from him. He only responded when I e-mailed him and he kept telling me it would be done in a few weeks. Finally on 8-15-2009, I received a call from someone else from the bank telling me I’ve been declined. When I asked him why, he told me my debt percentage was too high. He gave me some crazy calculations on my income. They said by looking at my tax return they figure my income will be less in the next few years. I don't know how they can tell my income will go down next year by looking at 1 year’s tax return.

I don't work on commission I own my own business and have made the same or higher salary for the past 5 years. If they have asked for my last 3 years tax returns, they would have seen this. Then when I called my rep from the bank, he won't return my phone calls. The only way I could reach him is by e-mails and he won't even return my e-mails anymore. He told me by e-mail that the information I gave him on the phone didn't match what was stated on my tax return. I gave him exactly the same number on the phone as I sent him on my return. I feel they were just out to take my $750.00 fee and had no intentions on giving the loan. I knew the low interest rate was too good to be true. They were only out to get my $750.00 and that was it.

I have excellent credit and have never ever been turned down for a mortgage or any other loan in my life. After searching the internet I found hundreds of stories just like mine about Chase Bank re-financing. This is simply a scam to get fees from people and they have no intentions on giving anybody any money. Now the interest rates are higher I am out of luck with trying to get that low rate. Case dragged this out for months and now I missed out on the low rates because of them.

Somebody has to investigate this bank. The government gave Chase billions of dollars so they can loan this money to people at a lower interest and Chase just took the money and is not loaning it to anyone. Please can anyone help?

I fill out the form and received no response. So after one month, that would be May 2009, I contacted someone on the phone. They stated they had received my information and was waiting for a counselor or advisor to be assigned to mine mortgage account. Another month went by and there’s no response from them.

Near the first of this year, our financial life took a plunge for the worse, and we called everyone and anyone to find some help. Chase had a loan modification plan that could maybe help us on our mortgage. With high hopes this would be our savior in keeping our little home, Chase did more damage than good. Jonita **, who was to help us out on this plan, was not a communicator at all, and never, ever answered her phone or returned voice mails when the box was not full and a message could be left. We never received a call to let us know if we even qualified.

Then one day out of nowhere, we received a FedEx envelope somewhere between April 6th and April 17th telling us we have been approved and this is where to send the payment, how much and all the rules, due on April 1st, We received this package late and you wanted the payment by April 1st. This was impossible. With advanced notice and communication on Chase's part, this could have been avoided. At that time, we had no earthly idea where we were going to come up with two house payments, let alone the one already late, and from there we tumbled again, only with a push this time. Work is still cut back from 6 days a week to only 4 days, sometimes only 3. I am still only working part-time, and we are both actively looking for full time work with benefits, which we don't have either.

At this time, my mom has offered to help, but we do not have the total amount past due, and I was strictly told by Chase they would not accept partial payments. The only way I will ever get caught up is to send what I can when I can, and take any help offered to me.

I need to be able to send payments via online for immediate withdrawn payment. I would also like to just speak to one individual Chase counselor/loan officer that speaks and understands English, and is willing to help and guide me. The people I have been connected with have been so difficult in all aspects. I have contacted Consumer Credit Canceling Service and have begun speaking with a counselor to reconfigure how to pay my bills, with such little income. I am also looking into NACA's Home Save Program, and may even have to file bankruptcy.

Back in March, I spoke with an HUD counselor in Athens, GA. I was told to sell my refrigerator and my vehicle. I needed a refrigerator immediately after having an infant son. Therefore without funds to even buy a used one, we had to rent to own one which I am now sending back because we have found an alternative. If I sell my vehicle, I cannot get to work, end of discussion.

I firmly believe Chase is partially responsible for me being behind. If I would have received that loan modification package in early March or got some kind of verbal confirmation, we could have at least figured in the payment or retrieved help sooner. Also, I would like to ask, what may be the options for making a weekly payment? $135.50, that would help us so much. It would be easier than a lump sum at this time. Or, bi-weekly payments, $271, difficult, but manageable. Our loan balance is $72,000(?). Our little 1980s mobile home is probably worth $35,000 and needs about $10,000 to $15,000 in repairs/upgrades, and we are behind $1688(?), 3 months.

We are open to all and any help; we just need help and compromise until we can get back on our feet. It is not that we don't want to pay our bills or that we are not trying to find a solution on our own. We are doing all we can. We just don't have the income anymore, and we don't want to lose our first home. It may not look like a big beautiful mansion, but it is to us. We wait patiently for your response promptly for any solutions. Thank you.

On 5/22/09, I began a refinance with Chase and was told, in writing, that the process would take close to 60 days. It's now 86 days. I used to get emails from my (now 4) processors, but that has stopped. I want to cancel, but do not want to lose my $750. Can anyone hear us? Doing a refinance would have allowed me to combine two home loans, so I would not have to go further in cc debt. My credit status is now very poor.

I began a refinance on a $28,000 current mortgage we had with Chase on 5-13-09. We were attempting to increase the loan for $25,000. The appraisal fee was $750, which Chase charged our credit card company (to date, that is all we have paid them). Mr. Darren ** said it would take 45-60 days to process and we locked in our interest rate at that time. It is now 8-14-09 and we still have not closed. The bank has verbally extended our lock-in date for 30 days (beginning 8-4) since they could not process on time. They said the underwriting department is way behind and still processing loan apps from 3-09.

My question is, why do they still accept loan apps if they cannot in good faith process them in a timely fashion? They have taken my $750 and how many other people have they taken their loan app fees with no ability to process the loans? I am very upset with how I have been treated by Chase and don't seem to be able to do much about it. The ball is in their court and I either walk away or continue to be mistreated by them. Either way, they have my $750. The banks should not be permitted to hold onto these fees if they cannot process within the stated time.

Their total settlement charges amount to over $3,400 for a total loan of $56,500. Doesn't that seem a little extreme? I have checked around at local banks and they stated their total settlement charges would be $1,500-1,900 at most. Chase is taking advantage of me and how many other people at a time when they should be thanking the taxpayers for their bloated bonuses. I want the $750 fee refunded and be able to reconsider if I want to try again someplace else. This country is in real trouble and the banks are to blame.

Last year, I received a foreclosure notice from Chase. My payment comes directly out of my account and never assumed there could be an issue. After contacting them, they said there had been an increase in escrow. They never notified me of this and let it build. Given the amount of increase, the math did not add up, and they were asking for a large amount of money. In that, I was close to foreclosure; I paid them $3,300 even though I never knew what it was for.

In June of 2009, I received an escrow notice that projected that this year's escrow costs would be less. Now, I have received another threat of foreclosure with little time to resolve the problem. After two hours on the phone, I find there was another increase of $305.17 a month. They say I was current up until the first of the year, and now have accumulated the amount of that increase. This would mean I would be $2,136.19 short.

Unfortunately, without explanation, they are requiring a payment of $6,583.07! If my escrow charges are less than last year, I cannot even begin to understand a more than $3,600 increase, but the amount of $6,583.07 is insane. This means I will have paid almost $10,000 in unexplained increases since last year! My only other option is lose my home. When I did a search of complaints about Chase, I found this site with many similar stories. Is there anything that can be done to get this company under control?

First, we tried to refinance using Countrywide Mortgage back in December 2008. We paid for an appraisal on December 31st. Then, Countrywide decided they needed a subordination agreement from Chase Home Finance (who we have a first mortgage and HE line of credit with). We were told that it would be a 2 week turnaround for the agreement and we had to pay $250’s for it upfront.

When agreement was not received in that time, both Countrywide and I called Chase's subordination department and was told they couldn't find the original request and so another one was faxed again to them, this now being the middle of February. This time we were told by Chase that it was now a 6 to 8 week wait for that agreement to let Countrywide Mortgage assume first lien and keep the HE Line of Credit as second lien. We have since been told by the title company that this was not really needed. Countrywide had already extended our loan rate several times, and now was charging us more points due to the wait.

I called Chase Home Finance office in Tyler, Texas, and talked to Sr. Loan Officer **. I explained our situation. She told me she could get us a better rate but that we would have to pay $750 upfront, and that we would be refunded $350's of it at settlement. We withdrew our application with Countrywide on April 1st, and went with Chase, believing that since we already had our mortgage with them, and had just recently done a HE Line of Credit, that they would be able to complete our refinancing in a reasonable length of time.

Since we were going out of state in middle of May and be gone for 2 months, I was told by Ms. ** that we would probably be able to settle by middle of May, before we left. By middle of May we were told by Ms. ** that we wouldn't be going to settlement until probably middle of June, as Chase was back logged with refinances and short on underwriters (as in being stressed out and quitting, and also the lack on Chase's part to hire enough people to do the job). We returned on July 19th and after trying to get in touch with Ms. ** several times, she finally called me back to explain that now Chase Underwriters wanted to freeze our HE before they would proceed further and that it would be only a few more days before we could have settlement.

This was the last straw for us. We have paid out of our pockets $1,480 already, 7 months have passed and we still have not been able to go to settlement. We told Ms. ** on July 29th that we no longer wanted to go through them, as it has been a costly and lengthy unreasonable time to complete this transaction. Our complaint is that we would not have had to put out so much money, nor missed out on some really great interest rates if it weren't due to Chase Home Finance taking over 7 months of handling this refinance, and still after 7 months was not ready to go to settlement. I feel that we should be reimbursed for the fees that we paid. We cannot go to another institution or mortgage company without further expenses (another appraisal and etc. fees). Seven months is totally unacceptable for any company or customer to wait.

We are out $1,480 and have nothing to show for that money. And we still are not able to take advantage of the much lower interest rates due to Chase's apparently lack of personnel to complete what needs to be done within a reasonable time period. And with them still short of help, we would face the same problem if we tried to go with another mortgage company.

I tried to short sell my old home. Countrywide (now bought by another bank) agreed to the short sale. Chase Mortgage, the second mortgage, behaved in a very evil fashion. They get nothing if I foreclose because my loan was purchase money. They said if they did not get $20K of the $57K loan, they would let the house foreclose and tried to scare me. Is anyone aware that banks who were bailed out could care less about letting homes foreclose? Why should I get punished further? I lost $50K on a house that was priced based on rampant bank fraud. Now, my credit is ruined. I had an 800 score! Why must I not only lose all my money and also ruin my credit for things which were not my fault?! Shame on evil greedy banks. They must be exposed.

I had a mortgage with WaMu and I had refinanced that in the past with no problems. After Chase bought WaMu, the interest rates dropped to the point where it became worth considering refinancing again. I called Chase and I described my easy experience with a WaMu refinance and was told that it would be almost as quick and easy and I just needed to pay a $750 fee. The process was neither quick nor easy. Every step was dragged out for weeks. I would get a phone call from the Chase rep asking me to call her back urgently. I would try to call for a week before I finally got her on the phone. She would request additional documents and I would find those documents. Then, she would tell me they didn't need those documents and they needed different documents and I found those documents. I sent those documents in and she sent them to underwriting. It took two weeks for them to get back to me and then repeat this whole process of asking for additional documents.

In the end they turned me down because my HOA has insufficient fidelity insurance. This is an issue I could have worked with the HOA to resolve, but by the time I was given a decision the rate lock had almost expired and it was too late to do anything. When I started the application I was told by someone, “Chase is not giving anyone any money. They will drag it out until your rate lock expires if they can't find an excuse to turn you down.” This is pretty much exactly what happened. When I talked to the HOA insurance agent after the denial, he told me that Chase was using this as an excuse to deny a lot of people, which leads me to believe it is something that could have been ascertained at the start of the process and could have saved me months of time and frustration.

I lost the $750 deposit fee. I was reluctant to even pay a fee to apply, but the rep told me that the process would be so quick and easy and I would recoup the fee in reduced payments very quickly. So, I went ahead and did it. More importantly I spent three months being constantly stressed about this. I spent countless hours on the phone looking for documents and trying to reach people. And after wasting three months of my life trying to deal with Chase Mortgage, the rates are high enough now that it no longer makes sense for me to consider refinancing.

As of 8-7-09, Stacy has helped me the most by putting a temporary stop on the illegal foreclosure that has been started. She tells me Chase still has not accounted for my payment in January, June and July. I'm convinced Chase is embezzling funds and for sure, mortgage fraud, to more than just me. It has been 16 months ago that Chase paid twice the amount of prop. taxes which shorted my escrow account and they have never fixed their mistake. They continue to take funds from something called "corporate advance" without my approval.

Portions are unaccounted as to where the money went. How can I collect the interest Chase has earned off every payment from October 2008 through August 2009 that sat in a "suspense account"? I have been told at least 50 or 60 times by Chase office that they promise to fix their errors. Well, I have been waiting over a year and they are dead set on foreclosure so they don't have to fix their mistakes. They have destroyed my credit and still continue to charge me $1,606.72 and thousands of dollars in miscellaneous fees, when in fact, my monthly statement says I owe $1,461.83. That's an overpayment of $144.99 for 11 months. If there is an attorney out there that reads this and willing to help me, please call or email me. Thanks.

I called Well Fargo and was approved at 5.6%. Then, I called current loan holder, WaMu, and was referred to Roger ** of Chase Mortgage. I submitted all docs, was approved at 4.6%. Roger called and said, "You're approved." I need $750 for an inspection and closing fees, locked in at 4.6%. Fine, I gave him a credit card and was charged the $750.

It's now August! I emailed Roger. Why hasn't this loan taken effect? I've been asking for months. We're still paying $1555 a month on the WaMu loan and all interest that we will never see unless we are credited the difference from the new loan - $1026. Roger emailed back, "We're missing schedule B from your 2007 tax return. Resend everything." We did. Now, he says there is not enough equity in the home?

What? We had the house appraised by a Realtor yesterday. In this bad market, we'd get $650,000.00 on a $1.4M estate. The current loan is only $200k. And we have always paid the WaMu loan on time, in full and continue to do so. I complained. He called and said he'd work on it and let us know by Friday, tomorrow. Work on it? It's been 5 months! And he's told me that before, twice a month for 5 months now. I told him I was going to a lawyer and writing the media. That's when he responded and said he'd tried to work this out.

We have lived in our home 32 years and pay our taxes monthly. Somehow, Chase paid our quarterly taxes in Aug. '08. We continued to make our town tax payments and discovered the problem in Jan. '09. Chase rep told us to pay Chase $445 a month (in addition to mortgage payment) to make up for their tax advance, which we did and have one payment to go. We still continued to make our tax payments to the town and are now paid through Nov. '09. However, we now find that the $445 a month payment was not applied to the advance but instead was put into escrow for future taxes.

The result is overdue escrow, overdue advance and mortgage payment shortage. In essence, our $500 per month mortgage was adjusted to $1500 per month to include escrow for future and payoff of past taxes. All our payments are done electronically and we have never been late on our mortgage! All documentation of mortgage payments, tax payments and tax advance payback were provided to Chase. They are now refusing our electronic payments and will only accept a check and are threatening foreclosure!

We only owe them the remaining balance on the tax advance and that is it! But, Chase has rejected our electronic checks. All mortgage payments have been on time. Our taxes are paid through November, and our $445 per month payment should have merely reduced the amount of the tax advance. There has been no response to our correspondence with documentation. And we cannot sit with a representative to resolve because that can only occur in California. Do we need to incur the cost of an attorney? We are retirement age and don't want to do that. Please advise how we might stop the foreclosure, correct the application of funds and get it off our credit report. Thank you.

I found out later that they had done nothing and my mortgage was then 3 months late (because all of the payments were being put into this escrow account). My house was then put into foreclosure and I was told I couldn't make any payments while it was in foreclosure, but it was put there because of this mix-up and they would reverse the foreclosure and everything would be fine.

My wife lost her job in May of 2008 and in November of 2008, we contacted Chase about some type of assistance as it became harder to pay our $1300 mortgage. I spoke to a representative who stated we may be eligible for forbearance and started the process. We received the paperwork late, so I called to let them know it came late and I was told that was fine and just send it in as soon as possible. The forbearance period was to be from December 2008 to February 2009. During this period, we did not receive any communication from Chase at all. Then in February 2009, we called to get further instructions as we were told to do. When we called, we were told that we were past due three months and that they had no record of a forbearance.

So after three months, we then started receiving calls and being told we were never in forbearance. After a couple of calls and several different reps, we asked about a modification and we were told that we weren't eligible for a modification because we just got out of forbearance. Huh? If it weren't so messed up, it would have been funny. After failed attempts to talk to the same person again, we were assigned a case worker, a Ms. Kelly **, who told us again we never were in forbearance and that she would get to us ASAP but there were a lot of others in front of us. We explained to her that we in fact had been in forbearance. She said that she could not help us with that, but we could launch an investigation but if we did that, she would have to cancel our request for assistance.

Needless to say, we opted for the assistance. So she offers another forbearance; she said we were not eligible for a modification. We were told that we could get forbearance and that at the end of the three months if nothing had changed with our finances that there was nothing else they could do for us. So being faced with that, I withdrew the remaining money from my 401k to catch up the three payments from December to February. I didn't want to be faced with having to make six payments at once due to the fact that from her tone, Chase was not interested in helping us. So I made those three payments, and about two weeks later, Ms. ** called me on a Sunday and tells me that my forbearance had been cancelled because I made those payments and that there was nothing else Chase could do for me. I was horrified. I can't believe these people are allowed to do this kind of stuff. My wife is having panic attacks and is now on antidepressants. This is destroying our lives.

Now, Chase is telling us we may be eligible for a try modification, but today FedEx delivered more forbearance paperwork, and get this, the paper stated that it needed to be signed and returned by 7/10/09 and today is 7/29/09. How messed up is that. There has to be someone out there willing to take Chase on. They have taken bailout money and have done nothing to help homeowners. All they want to do is offer forbearance and that's like putting a band aid on a bullet wound. Please someone help. I have gotten a little smarter because I have started recording my conversations with Chase each time I call. I have written my congressman to no avail. It's like nobody cares that Chase is raping my family. If there is any helpful information, I would appreciate it because I am at my wit's end. I fear that we are going to lose our home.

Admittedly, we are the third party to be affected by Chase and their ability to drag their feet. But here is the story: Our home was on the market, and we got a contract back in May 2009 with the contingency that our buyers sell their home as well. They got a contract, and everything seemed to be going along fine. But their buyers are using Chase for their financing. The closing date for their sale (as well as ours) was June 30, 2009. It is now July 28, 2009, and we have no closing in sight.

We have already moved from the home we were selling, and we are paying rent on another home as well as the mortgage on the one we have yet to close on. Not to mention the storage facility we rented to store a great deal of our furniture! Our buyers have their lending in order - their buyers have provided all documents required by Chase and have been approved governmentally for a VA loan. But still, there's no closing date reset!

Our agent, our buyers' agent, their buyers' agent, and the title companies for both parties call Chase everyday at least twice a day to inquire on the progress and are only told "it's still in underwriting." What kind of scam is Chase running? Are they getting these documents together with their toes? What is taking so long? Everyone's documents are in order, but since Chase is the big bad lender with all the money, we all have to wait for them.

They bought my loan in 5-06, and I had perfect credit, no late payments until 1-08. An adjustable ARM loan took over and raised my payments. As of 9-1-08, we had agreed to a modification to lower payment and thought things would be fine. New payment of $1276 was great for us. After a few months of making this payment had passed, Chase told me I'm behind and this mortgage amount did not include the interest or escrow which would have increased the payment to $1,606 monthly, which is only $100 difference than the amount prior to the modification. So, all was a huge waste of time.

One year has passed and they have screwed up my loan and destroyed my credit beyond repair from fees, late charges and they never put my payments towards my loan. They always put it into a suspense fund for as long as 2 weeks and then charge me more late fees etc. I could go on for ever. In 2008, they paid twice the amount of property taxes that they should have paid and blame me for my escrow account not having funds. For the past 6 months, my statement says I owe $1,458.92 but Chase refuses to take a payment less than $1,650. I have gone to the top trying to reach Mr. ** and I got stuck talking to Gloria ** or Jill ** who continue to make promises of fixing this mess but have failed to follow through.

So it's July '09 and Chase is planning on taking our home. The system says I owe 3 payments that I do not owe. I made 13 payments in 2008 and 6 in 2009 so far. What can I do to make them follow through with fixing the problems they made all starting with overpaying my taxes?

I was told that if I sent Chase $7,000 to get caught up on our loan, they would modify it into something more affordable. Well, they got my money and pretty much said, "Too bad, so sad." That was February 2008. Today, 7/27/09, I received a 3-day notice to vacate, but this was not recorded nor did we receive notice of a sale date. I have a case filed with the OCC but I am disabled and can't find an attorney to take on the big boys - I need Erin Brockovich. In 1990, we got a loan from University National Bank in Palo Alto, CA, which was recorded at the County as a lien against our house. This loan was passed to CoAmerica when they purchased University. However, the loan number was changed. This loan was sold to PNC Mortgage. They changed the number again. PNC Mortgage was purchased by WaMu. The loan number was changed again. In 2002, we paid down the mortgage. At the end of December, we requested pay off instructions which WaMu supplied. We still have a copy. We gave instructions to City National Bank to wire transfer funds for the payoff. We are now arranging a new loan with City National. Old Republic Title Co informs us that no pay off for the University Bank loan has been recorded with the County. City National informs us that no loan is possible until the University National Bank loan pay off is recorded or a statement from WaMu/Chase is provided to the Title Co.

Many visits to the local branch resulted in the information that the only way to get it resolved is to fax the request to a number which they provided. They would not do it. I faxed the request with supporting info with the request on the cover sheet that they acknowledge receipt. They did not acknowledge. They will not give a phone number of a human to talk to. They provided no tracking number. They gave no indication of when the problem will be resolved. They will give no information to the title co. A branch manager, after much pushing, got an internal person to acknowledge that the loan had been paid off. They would not give a written copy of this or affirm it to the title co. Banks should not change numbers on loans when they assume them. There should be a penalty for not recording a loan payoff. WaMu/Chase is not being responsible in handling a problem they caused and is preventing me from getting a new loan.

On May 4th, 2009, I entered into the process of refinancing my home. I was given the terms by the loan officer and was told that the processing time would be 30 (but no more than 45 days). Since then, all the terms of the loan have changed, including the fact that we are now at almost 90 days and the documents are still not ready. I'm repeatedly been told that Chase is very busy right now and that new home loans are being put in front of my refinance, even though this is costing me a huge amount of money in unnecessary interest payments as my intent was to consolidate debt with lower interest rates. Although my loan officer has faithfully stayed in contact with me which I appreciate, I no longer trust anything that I've been told. Chase is unable to tell me when loan documents will be ready, even though they are not waiting on anything and I'm told by my loan officer that underwriting has everything they need. In my opinion, Chase Bank is a band of lying thieves and I wouldn't send my enemies to them!

The Chase Bank Lost Draft Department has the rudest, most incompetent "customer service" staff I have ever dealt with. In September 2008, the roof of my home was damaged due to a hurricane. The roof damage allowed water to enter my home, causing further damage to the inside. The insurance claim was handled quickly, and everything was fine until it was put in the hands of the Chase Lost Draft Department.

On 11/11/08, I received a check from my insurance company for the total claim amount and forwarded it to the Loss Draft Department. It was at this time I was introduced to a side of Chase customer service that I have never experienced before. The whole department conducts business under the pretense of "We have your insurance money, and we will distribute it as we please." They talked down to me and would not release any of the funds until we filled out the forms and followed procedures exactly. Yes, they have procedures to follow, but with the incompetent customer service experienced, you never are told the correct information.

You can call today and be told all you need is this, and two weeks later, I called again and it's "Oh, you need this now." It is a never-ending cycle of phone calls that always end with us having a new or different missing form or piece of information. It has become very apparent to me that Chase's plan of action on holding these escrow funds is to delay the distributions as long as possible in order to collect the additional interest that can be made.

On 12/26/09, the first portion of the insurance money was finally released. We did not get another check until 04/10/09. In this period, several phone calls to the Chase Lost Draft Department ended with us needing different forms filled out than the prior calls required. I do not know how Chase runs its company, but with this type of customer service, it's a wonder they are still in business.

I spoke with the Chase Lost Draft Department, and the lady (I do not remember her name.) assured me that all I needed to get the second disbursement of funds was to re-fill out the forms with my self listed as the contractor. I was not told this in the beginning and listed the actual contractors. But since I had two, they said I had to be listed as the self contractor. Upon completion of these forms and after the fax waiting period, I finally did get the second check released. So at this point, I got the second check released and set up the final inspection with Chase.

Of course, the inspector only lists the repairs as 85% complete again, even though much work had been done in the period from the inspection prior to the release of the second check (which was listed as 85% complete). That way, I have to again pay Chase to do another inspection (#4). I did not find this information out, until I made a call to the Chase Lost Draft Department, questioning the status of the remaining funds on 07/24/09.

Of course, when I called, I again found out that the forms are incorrectly filled out again. How could the second check be dispersed using the same forms, but yet when time comes to get the remaining funds released suddenly, there is another issue? This is even after I was assured that I had all the correct forms filled out prior to releasing the second check. This was the time I got transferred to another rude, unhelpful manager, Cheline. (She sarcastically spelled her name out for me when I requested her full name.)

Cheline informed me of the discrepancy in forms, and I asked her why this was not an issue before. Of course, she did not have an answer and went on the defensive side. She stated that a customer service rep called a number and spoke with me about what forms I was missing on 07/03/09. Yet somehow, I have not had the number they called since April 2008. She began naming dates she insisted Chase sent documents to me, and when I questioned some, she said, "Oh, but you received the check but not those ones." She became very flustered and would not discuss anything else, because I was transferred to her to talk about the delay in my insurance funds.

Besides the rude customer service from Cheline, I never got an answer for why this discrepancy was not an issue for the release of the second check. It was immediately "I am right; you are wrong. So don't question me, because I cannot give you an answer." Why were these issues not brought to my attention months ago when it could have been addressed? Each and every time it appeared we were ready to have a check released, somehow, there was an issue with the paperwork. It seems like these delays in distribution are in fact a way for Chase to make money. How else can you explain such incompetent management of the company?

I have opened my home twice to an appraiser so that the process could be expedited in a timely fashion. The latest hold up is that there are 3 deposits from my husband's employer that were deposited into my account.

My husband's name is not on my Chase checking account. However, he endorsed the check over to me. Now, Chase is asking for his pay stubs even after his employer faxed them a letter stating where the checks originated from. My husband is not refinancing, I am. The mortgage is in my name and I am the one paying for it. I believe that I have been treated unfairly in lieu of the present economic system and what the banks are going through. Please, I would appreciate acknowledgment of this complaint. Thank you. Consequences: Chase's credibility as a sound financial institution with knowledgeable and competent employees.

Each time I have contacted Chase, I was told that they were very busy and would contact me after the underwriting is completed. I am very frustrated and confused. I could have refinance with XXXBank, which was offering a no closing cost and close within 30 days to the company I work for. But I had already stated my application with Chase and paid a non-refundable fee of $750.00. If I was told of the delay of over 5 months before I had completed my application, I would have declined Chase's offer. I have been sending email on a weekly basis. On 07/24/2009, I was being told that my application could take another 4-5 weeks to process. Chase has now taken a total of over 3 months to get my application to the underwriting area, and I have to wait another 4-5 weeks for an answer. I could have had this loan close by other banks 2 months ago. I now consider this unethical business practice.

I applied for refinancing for my condominium in January 2009 with WaMu/Chase with plenty of equity and good credit and was assured there would be no problem. After several weeks and collecting a non-refundable $300 processing fee, my application was denied because unbeknownst to me, the renter-to-owner ratio was too high for Fannie Mae's new guidelines. I then was advised that I might qualify for the new loan modification program, which I did, and hurriedly sent all the paperwork in early March.

Other than first alerting me to send another document in, I have had any official word from them. I have verbally been told by their special collection unit one and a half month ago that my application was being evaluated and to look for paperwork in the next week or two. Another told me that since I was still current, they were giving me the most priority they could. Shameful. Does anyone know of a business that conducts its activities in such a way?

I am stressed beyond belief because I do not know if I can lower the payment that takes most of my income. I have gone without essentials, such as decent shoes to wear to work, to stay current. What's most irritating is that I could have refinanced with another entity that would have accepted my condo if I had known they would not fulfill their promise.

For the past year, we have tried to prove (which we finally did) that we have always carried home owner insurance. And after many phone calls and certified letters, Chase finally did acknowledge that we did always have insurance. The problem is that for all those months, Chase set up an escrow account for their insurance and they applied every payment that I paid to the escrow account instead of my loan, which in turn always showed that I was late on my house payments. I did receive a letter from the insurance department stating that they have requested the escrow be knocked off.

No one ever followed through with this and I have now been foreclosed on. I went to my Chase branch and was given a phone number to call to try to get this worked out, but I have been transferred 6 different times today from one department to the next. This has ruined my credit and I am not even sure if I will be able to stay in my home since it is foreclosed on just this past week. I have all documentation and letters from Chase and I will be more than happy to provide those. I do not know what to do at this point because I can't get anyone who knows anything. They have all the information on their screens also.

During mid December 2008, when the home mortgage interest rates dipped into the 4% range, I contacted the holder of my mortgage to see about refinancing or loan modification. Chase is the current, although not the original holder. Sometime in June of 2008 they bought my loan from Freedom Mortgage. After quite some time on the phone going thru the Chase Mortgage customer service, I was referred to the mortgage modification department. I am a retired army soldier and my mortgage takes up about 55% of my take home pay. While this is doable, I can't make headway on anything else, nor keep up with repairs.

After several hours, the loan modification department said I did not qualify for a modification because my loan to debt ratio was too low and I would need to go through a regular loan officer. So, at that time, I was assigned to Chad ** who was a senior officer of the department. He assured me there would be no problem with refinancing and that my new interest rate would be 4 3/8%. This is buying down the rate using 3 points. I received paperwork and filled it all out and sent it in to him by fax. I live over 20 miles from town in a rural area so it takes some time for me to get in and back to a fax machine, especially in the dead of winter. This was around Dec 16, 2008.

Mr. ** said an appraisal will need to be done and that it will cost me $400. I used money I had set aside for my winter heating to pay for this because Chad assured me again the loan would close before the end of January. Following several weeks, I never heard anything from Mr. **. It was early to mid January when I finally got a hold of a loan process officer by the name of Shannon **.

Several more days went by and I got a hold of Mr. ** again but he told me the loan was reassigned to another loan officer (I don't recall that other name). Another couple weeks went by, and the new loan officer then told me that the loan had been disapproved because my debt to income ratio was too high and was referred back to the loan modification department. Again, after going through everything with that department again, I was told I did not qualify because I can still make my current house payment so I was referred back to Chad **.

In late January, Mr. ** then said that I still did not qualify for a refinance because the value of my home exceeded the 80% limit of my current mortgage (with refinancing costs the amount would put it around the 86% mark). I asked when this had been done since no one had been to my house, and he said it was done in late December. He then told me that he would order an in house inspection and gave me the name of the company in Spokane that will do it.

After several days, no one had called me about this new appraisal so I contacted the firm myself. They gave me the date that someone will be there and told me no one had been to my property before. According to Chad **, this was the same company that supposedly did a "drive-by" assessment. This could not have been possible since late December 2008, we had a major winter storm here that dumped a record snowfall of several feet, and my half mile long road was blocked for quite some time. So, unless they came my sleigh, they could not have seen my house.

Two women from the firm finally arrived in late January and told me they did a drive by in December and I asked how they did it, since there was 3-4 feet of snow blocking the road and they said their 4-wheel drive gets them anywhere (yeah right). The new assessment came in a little higher, but still placed me above the 80% mark (Kootenai County had my property assessed $60k higher than what Chase said it was worth). Chad ** then told me I didn't qualify but a new program was coming out and I would qualify for it.

Another month went by and after dozens of attempts to get a hold of Mr. **, I finally reached him to find out the status. He assured me I would still get the 4 3/8% rate, but the new program would not be available until April 1. Then on the 1st, I was told it was delayed till the 15th. I was pretty frustrated at this point. On April 15, I was told the new program was delayed until 1 May and then again until the 1st week of June and there was nothing he could do till then.

When June rolled around, I was told I didn't qualify for any new program that allowed for loans that exceeded the 80% mark, but not why I didn't qualify. After several attempts to get a hold of Chad **, his voice mail indicated he was being transferred and all his customers would need to see other loan officers. I never heard from him again. By late June, I had finally got a hold of another loan officer but was told I didn't qualify (no reason why again), but by this time the interest rates were back up around 5 1/4% and would be pointless for me to refinance. Rather than having a couple hundred dollar savings, I would be lucky to see any at all.

At one point in May, during all this, when I was having trouble making my June payment (which I did on time), Chad **'s response to me was "Well, looks like you will have to sell your property." This attitude and constant run around has really frustrated me and it is pretty obvious that Chase has no interest in customer satisfaction, just their money. I am interested in knowing if and what type of legal action I can take against Chase Mortgage.

I've been working with Chase on my sister’s behalf; she filed for bankruptcy and got behind her mortgage. I called in February to discuss options besides foreclosure. At that point, she was due for October which we still couldn't understand since they lost checks. They applied her mortgage payments to fees and didn't inform her, etc. I have documentation for each conversation I had but one (of course one of the most important ones).

January: I set up a payment plan.

February: I was told the person I set the payment plan up with didn't have the authority to do a plan; I set up another payment plan. Throughout February I got paperwork, signed it and faxed it back. I sent the down payment via Western Union. The fax never got there. The number on the paperwork to fax back to was the wrong number. I tried faxing five times and they never received even though Kinko's FedEx fax showed successful transmission. First was payment due in April for $1342.

March: my sister gets a call from Chase asking her to decide which program she wanted for her modification. Chase vs. Making Homes Affordable. I called back and they said she didn't qualify for the MHA but that the $2000 downpayment would be applied to her payment plan and her new payment would be $992. I called to confirm they received April's payment of $992, which they did. Also, I called to check on the status of modification and was told they never received the papers. We sent everything certified this time.

April: I called to check status of modification and to confirm they received the payment. I was told they did receive the payment and have all the papers they need.

May: I called to check status and the rep noted the account that I called and told me it was still in process.

June: I called to check status and confirm payment was received. Payment was received and now they're missing paperwork (same paper work we sent certified), so we sent it back in. I called back later in the month and the rep told me that Chase had received it in one department but that another department had to "image it" to the account. She would escalate to her supervisor and I should call back in a few days. I called back in a few days. Everything was imaged and on the account and the modification was now processing the modification.

July: my sister paid via her online bank and had the wrong address. She put a stop payment on the check. We Western Unioned the money on June 2nd and they cashed her check.

July 13th, today, I call just to check the status (as I’ve been told is necessary) and here's what I'm told. In April, they moved her to the MHA program and because the papers weren't processed in time before her payment, her mortgage payment went to back fees (so basically she "didn't pay the April payment plan"). What we thought was a recalculation of the mortgage was actually a program change to MHA. With April's payment now not "paid" - every month she made a payment and it appeared that she was paying late when we thought she was paying early (4/28 was paid for May; 5/30 for June; 7/2 for July). Since every payment was a month behind what we thought, we were paying the 7/2 was for 6/1 payment; therefore, we’re over 30 days late and now she's defaulted.

She doesn't qualify for the MHA program, so she was supposed to be paying $1342 on the Chase mortgage program and not the $992 for MHA. But according to the computer, she has now defaulted on the MHA program and can no longer go that route (she never qualified for this, but she's now not able to). The money she's paying on her payment plan has all gone to late fees and attorney fees and not her mortgage directly. So she's now 6 months behind on her mortgage.

We've set up another payment plan with them for 90 days, but I’m scared that I’ll have a similar conversation with them in 90 days if I don't forget to ask something specifically, such as, not only “did you received the April payment,” but in addition, “did you apply those funds to April's payment plan for the mortgage.” This whole situation has been a nightmare with Chase. Their reps were so incredibly rude that I must admit I hung up on those that yelled at me, but in Chase's documentation somehow that equated to "referred to website for MHA education.” I honestly don't know how to make this stop. My mom lives with her and she has 2 teenagers living at home and can't lose this house, but I'm at a loss as to how to help her.

I received an email alert from Chase on July 8, saying they had received the payment, but today, July 13, they still have not applied it. I've spent hours on the phone without ever reaching a live person. In January 2009, I applied with WaMu (now Chase) to refinance my house. They ran my credit on January 30 (800+ FICO) and ordered an appraisal which was done on February 21. My loan was approved and my rate "locked in". The loan officer in the branch has optimistically assured me that docs were coming "any day now" since March. Well, "any day now" turned into weeks which has now become months. I have had to submit to another appraisal because the first appraisal "expired". I have called and left numerous voice mail messages for Jenny, the processor, and only once has she had the courtesy to call me back.

I am at my wits end with these people but I can't start over at this point because rates have gone up since I locked in. I have banked with WaMu for years and therefore thought that they were a good choice as lender. I figured they would probably sell my loan anyway, so what did it matter. Obviously, I was mistaken. I'm curious about why they are dragging their feet. Why did they allow the first appraisal to expire knowing full well the consequences in this market? Since interest rates have gone up, are they hoping that the appraisal will come in low enough now that they can now decline the loan?

If I had to do over again, I would certainly not choose WaMu (Chase)! My situation, unlike others, is not desperate; my intent was simply to consolidate my 1st and 2nd mortgages and lower my interest rate. But no matter the reason, they have caused undue worry and stress on me and countless others. I will not just walk away. They agreed to loan me money at a specific rate, contingent upon sufficient equity in the property, stable work history, sufficient salary, and stellar credit history. I have met my obligation. Now I want them to meet theirs! They should be held accountable for their actions (or lack thereof) and be forced to comply with the terms of the agreement that was made. How can this be accomplished?

We sold our house in Seattle on May 20, 2009 and paid off our Washington Mutual home mortgage, of which Chase had taken over servicing as of October of 2008. Although we remained at our same address until June 24th, Chase failed to send us a refund of the tax/insurance escrow refund of almost $1,600. After we arrived at our new address in Massachusetts and saw that no refund had been sent there either, I contacted Chase on June 30th and was told that the refund check had been mailed on June 4th to an address in Seattle that I had never heard of!

The customer service agent asserted that we had changed our address at some time in the past, which was absolutely false, as we had never authorized an address change. They indicated that they would not re-issue the check for 30 days after issuance, to see whether the check would be deposited, and also they would not stop payment on it either! They indicated that my only recourse was to wait until July 6th and then call back to find out what had happened to my $1,600.

They were unable to provide any further information about the address change, when or how it had happened, or whose address it was. By Googling the address and searching for it in the King County tax assessor’s database, I was able to ascertain who lived there and to obtain their home and work phone numbers. I called them and found out that in fact they had also paid off their Washington Mutual mortgage in May 2009 and had received our refund check through an obvious bank error. They told me that they had returned the check to Chase in mid June.

I then called Chase again on July 1st and told them this story. They said that their records indicated that indeed they had received the returned check, but it didn't matter, they still would not consider a request for refund check re-issuance until July 6th per bank policy. I even spoke with a supervisor who refused to budge on this policy, and also refused to connect me with his manager, who he claimed was on vacation.

I called Chase this morning, July 8th, to request check re-issuance. I was told that re-issuance would take 8 business days. When I protested that I had already been waiting seven weeks for my escrow refund, I was told I would have to speak to a manager to get my request "expedited". The manager put me on hold for 20 minutes to "research my request", then came back to tell me that she would put in a request to have the check expedited, but that it would take two business days to have the request reviewed.

Our loan was paid off seven weeks ago and we still have not been issued an escrow refund for almost $1,600. This has negatively impacted our liquidity, as we have had to make insurance and tax payments on our new property in the meantime.

I have recently been trying to short sale my house and despite Obama's hard work to aid consumers in preventing foreclosures, Chase has done everything possible to make sure this doesn't happen. I, just like millions of others, purchased my home with the American dream of refinancing at the climbing home values. I even pulled money out of my savings to work on the house and raise the value even more. Then all of a sudden, the economy hit me hard. To make matters worse, I am a real estate agent so when the economy fell, so did my income. I am trying to short sale my home now for a fair market value. I have the buyer and everything has gone smoothly.

The first mortgage, of course, has been extremely helpful in moving this process along quickly. The second mortgage is unfortunately with Chase Banks. They have been my demise. The negotiator has been completely rude, condescending and downright unwilling to help me or compromise on anything. They asked for $35,000 cash! That is above and beyond the $3000 the first lender was going to give them and $1000 from the Obama Housing Plan program. If I had $35,000 cash, I definitely would not be in the situation I am in now. Chase has told me things like, you realtors are making way too much money on these transactions, I think you should be willing to give up your commissions to make it up! Also, you had no problems spending the money from your equity line, you should have no problems paying it back. And to top it all off, I could care less if we don't get a dime from this transaction, we've already charged it off!

To make matters worse, Chase is the one lender that prides themselves on their willingness to help their clients during this short sale process! They even have a whole webpage dedicated to showing how much they are here to help! I am seriously shocked at the fact that I can be victimized in this way when all I am trying to do is avoid foreclosure like everyone else! I have done everything possible to make this work and so has the buyer on the transaction. I cannot ask the buyer to come up anymore on price and am now at a loss of what I can do. I need someone to know how unfairly I have been treated and am now going to have to face foreclosure because of it! Chase portrays an image of wanting to help, yet when I needed them, they laughed in my face. How are we ever going to survive this economy when the resources we think we have turn their backs on us?

I applied for a mortgage refinance with Chase, and I was required to pay $425 for a home appraisal. I was dealing with a "Senior Loan Officer" by the name of James **, who sent me papers with inaccurate figures for taxes to be escrowed. After deciding that I did not want to do the refinance with Chase due to Mr. James's unprofessional practices, he refused to refund my money.

The loan I applied for was an FHA refinance, which required an in-home appraisal which was never done. Mr. James threatened that if I didn't do the refinance with him, he would not refund my $425. I have also contacted the FTC and the US Department of Banking regarding this matter. I also contacted Mr. James's managers, Dan ** and Mindy ** in regards to this matter, and they all seem to run a scam ring. I don't want any further dealings with these people. I just want my money refunded for a service that was never rendered. Please help! Thank you!

I was forced to retire. As my income is now 1/2 what it was while employed, I have asked for an adjustment to my mortgage so I can keep my condo. It started with WAMU. All the paperwork requested was filled out and faxed. I received nothing. After waiting over 30 days, I called. After the runaround to no less than 5 people, I was told that now WAMU is Chase. I was further told to download new Chase paperwork and refile. I sent via fax all the information that was requested. I have now received a letter stating that I have yet to provide them information that I had, on two occasions, already provided. I faxed again and asked that if what I have sent is not sufficient, call me and advise in detail what is acceptable.

I feel as if this is all a delay in tactics from them. Try to call and you get sent from department to department by people who act as if your worth is zero. All I want is action, I keep dipping into my retirement savings to the tune of $2,500 per month just to stay here and do what I think is the right thing. It appears that they would rather I walk rather than help me. What can I do? Who can I turn to to get this issue resolved in a more timely and less frustrating manner? Many thanks for your help in advance.

In mid-January 2009, we started a refinance with WAMU-JP Morgan Chase, a 15-year at 4.5% with a $750 application fee. My husband and I have excellent credit (750 and 801). We are asking for $127,000 on house appraised at $211,000. In May, the loan coordination and other staff asked for the same documents four times in a week to the point of red flags for me. I drove to our nearest WAMU and talked to a real person who got us connected with the loan coordinator, D. **, who assured me this is not the way they do business but they have such high volume that things are taking a little extra time. He became our new loan coordinator and assured us this would be taken care of quickly. So far, he too is not answering the phone or calling back. He did however email with me June 3 stating he would have our file back tomorrow (June4).

It is now June28, six months after starting this loan. We feel locked in to waiting because of the low interest rate and the $750 app fee, mainly the low interest rate. We have been paying on our WAMU (old loan) at 7.4% now this entire time and really feel that they are dragging their feet to keep us in the higher loan. All we want is to close and be done, but this is ridiculous. He sent me an email this morning stating they are hiring new people. We are out $750, six months of interest on our old loan and now the 4.5% interest rate is a thing of the past. I am one upset person! I want to file a class action lawsuit.

My mortgage was originally with Washington Mutual and was taken over by Chase in the WAMU failure. In May 2009, I wanted to lower my interest rate from 8%. My first choice was Chase. On 5/6/09, I contacted a loan officer with Chase. He was very interested and got all my information verbally over the phone. He stated at that time he could give me a 4.875% rate with .75% points on my mortgage with a binding fee of $750.00 for 90 days. He stated he could give me a 95% loan. He also stated that should the interest rate drop again I would be offered a one-time opportunity to take the lower rate during those 90 days. I accepted the offer and gave all the information.

That day I received the loan package by e-mail plus all the necessary forms to look over, making sure all information was correct. I immediately noticed the address was incorrect. I tried to call Thomas ** on his private line since he had given it to me earlier. I left a message on his answering machine and immediately sent an e-mail stating the error in the paper work. On 5/7/09 I received another loan package by e-mail but it was the same incorrect information. I tried to call again but could only leave a message and also sent another e-mail. On 5/8/09 I tried to call several times with only getting a voice machine… still no return call from Thomas **.

On 5/9/09 the appraiser came out and had spent an hour trying to find the property. She was very confused with the wrong address and had to call her company. At the same time I tried called Thomas twice with no results. I also called Chase customer service with no results. The appraiser's company told her to go ahead and appraise the correct property and they would try to fix the problems. Toward the end of May, I tried off and on many times to contact Thomas with no results. Then early in the morning of 6/4/09, I called his number one more time and he answered. Amazing! I was told that the appraisal was not as high as he thought it would be and he would have to call the county I lived in to obtain the FHA rate.

I did not ask for a FHA loan but was not opposed. He came back and stated he could only give me an 80% loan with a 5.5% interest rate. I told him ‘no’, that he had taken my binder fee of $750.00 for 90 days and I was still entitled to the 4.875%. He said no and I said I would have checked into this and would get back with him. That very day, I filed a dispute on the charge with my credit card company (by the way is Chase). I have filled out the paper work on this disputed charge. I still have not received a single call from Thomas or any other Chase loan officer.

On 6/4/09 I contacted Lending Tree to refinance my mortgage and they are working on the loan. Now they have been given the appraisal but been told by Mr. Thomas ** that my FHA was turned down by them. This stops me from getting an FHA with Lending Tree. I have never filed for bankruptcy and have a credit score of 750 and have never missed a house payment. I am 67 years old, retired and feeling that Chase has taken advantage of me as a senior citizen. I have bought and sold many houses over my lifetime but never have I had these problems. I want my record cleared, I want my original 4.875% interest rate and the loan officer reprimanded.

I am adding my story to the long list of devastated loan mod homeowners. I don't believe Wamu/Chase has any intention of modifying a loan. I wonder if Mr. Obama knows how they are mishandling the money he gave them. I would be very interested in joining a class action law suit against them. I am on my 3rd loan mod application and have never made it past "the openers". There is no manager or supervisor to speak to ever. My husband and I started this process in November ‘08 when we were declined for being "current" on our mortgage. The woman processing our app actually suggested we miss December ‘08 payment as we have a Freddie Mac loan and they required their loan mods to be at least 2 months delinquent.

In February ‘09, we applied again. My husband is in construction and I own a spa. Needless to say, business has been slow. Out of necessity, we missed the January ‘09 and February ‘09 payments. I had been going back and forth with them over "missing items" and on April 29, 2009, I was assured that after numerous faxes, my missing items had been received and that now I was a "complete package." It would be approximately 60 days before we were assigned to the "negotiator" and all we could do was wait.

Today, June 25, 2009, I made my weekly phone call to Wamu to make sure everything was on track. I was informed that my case was closed, denied and that my documents had been shredded. The reason being that the said missing items have not been received in the 30-day time period from a March 14, 2009 letter. I have proof that I began faxing these items not only within 30 days, but within the 10 demanded in the letter. The Wamu reps also have all my attempted faxes with my follow-up calls documented in their notes and read them back to me today. For the last two months, I have called at least once a week to make sure that all was on track. Not one rep ever mentioned anything about the items being received late and every one of them assured me that items had been received and I was just in line for the negotiator. In less than one week, we went from being a complete package waiting for a negotiator to being declined.

I believe Wamu/Chase intentionally documented the items beyond the due date so as to decline my case. For some reason, they couldn't seem to get my faxes right each time I sent them; yet they stuck with the original March 14 due date, even though it was their end that was messing up. I was never informed that I was still operating under an inflexible timeline. I was never informed that the documents were considered "late". For two months, I was assured every week that things were received, completed and we just had to wait. This thing is consuming my life when I should be focusing on running my business in the worst economic situation of my lifetime. Consequences? I have to re-apply and start the frustrating fax-a-thon with the imps at Wamu.

After thinking about it, I said yes, even though I felt at this time this was bait and switch, and locked in to this rate. I filled out and signed application and sent back all necessary information.

3 weeks passed, and I was told they needed the same info. I followed up again. After 2 months, I was told by Corey ** that file was going to underwriters. 2 weeks passed, and I got a contract to sign for my mortgage. Information was wrong about rate, years, and 12 items they needed for approval. 6 of the same items I had sent twice before. Also contained in the packet was another form saying "We were not approved for this loan."

I could not get any information from either party about both these forms for an explanation. So I was stressed and told them to withdraw my application. They said they would. All through this account I was asked repeatedly to increase the size of my mortgage from $60,000 to $100.00. Now, I lost my initial $750. I lost all this time in refinancing. I went with Chase, only because WaMu was purchased by Chase and that was who held my mortgage.

In January, I asked for a mortgage loan modification packet as I was and am unemployed. Chase Home finance sent it to me. I sent it back via registered mail and on January 22, 2009, they signed for it. I waited but was kept being harassed about the payments. They were made, but late, so I could keep my home for my family. Then, after many heated arguments with the customer service representatives, and trying to play catchup with our mortgage, we received a letter from ** in the loan modification department that "per our instructions, the loan modification was canceled."

We never once told her to stop the paperwork, nor will this woman speak to me regarding the problem. I have tried all the avenues I can think of. Now, we are looking into calling an attorney and filing a lawsuit against Chase mortgage for discrimination and mental anguish on my part and my wife or something. This has caused us a real problem financially and we do not want to lose the home we just purchased last year. I am looking for work. I lost my job of 19 years in November and I have been looking for full time work. But due to the economy, it is difficult, especially in our local.

We were harassed three times a day from the customer service department, never speaking once to the same person. They sent someone here, an appraiser, to see if anyone was home and that their interest was secure. We were not home, but they actually walked into the house, (the back door was unlocked), left a letter on the kitchen table, and got bitten by our dog. They had absolutely no right to be in our home.

The customer service is terrible. The people can hardly speak English and then they just do not understand what we are trying to tell them. This whole mortgage has been a total nightmare and a mess. They bought it from Bankers Trust even before our first payment was due. They lost a payment, the very first one, and it took us 60 days to get a new money order. In the meantime, they keep up with the phone calls three times a day, seven days a week. I am working seasonal right now, until September, then I will no doubt be laid off and back on unemployment once again. Then, the nightmare will start all over.

All I want is a little help from Chase and obtain a loan modification, we sent all the paperwork necessary to them in January. Please help me with this plight. They have even started foreclosure proceeding twice because we were behind a month. My wife has had a nervous breakdown over this whole situation, and I am taking medicine for high blood pressure. I get 400.00 a week for unemployment and I have a car payment, insurance, utilities and we just can not even afford groceries.

I am a Hurricane Ike victim who lost almost everything. When I got my insurance checks, such as they were, they were made out to Chase as the mortgage-holder. I had to send them to Duluth, GA to be countersigned. They are holding $37,391.08, the final amount I will receive. I cannot fix my house w/o this money and it is far from enough.

Someone at the Duluth office called me in December (they say February) to tell me that they needed completed paperwork and that my house should have been repaired by then. I did not get a permit from the City of Galveston to rebuild for almost six (6) months. I was told then that the insurance money was theirs and they were not required to give it to me. My account is "monitored" because it is over $20,000. I have never been late on a mortgage payment or my equity loan since I bought the house.

I was so upset after talking to them the first time that I waited until I had all my permits and had completed as much work as I could on the money I received. I have spent the entire amount of my contents money fixing the house. It cost $5,000 approx. to reinstall the electricity alone due to Galveston regulations, $9,000.00 for air conditioning and we put in a laundry room. I still have no kitchen, no downstairs bathroom, no floors, a torn-up porch, and the house needs repainting and shutters after the storm. I received no help from FEMA or the City of Galveston. I paid the premiums for flood, windstorm and homeowners insurance. Chase had nothing to do with it, they just have the mortgage.

When I checked the paperwork today, they want a clean air certificate, a contractor's estimate for the whole house, a W-9 from him and a lien release, although the work is not yet done. That is just so they will deign to send an inspector to verify that I have done 50% of the work.

Today, I drove from Galveston to the nearest Houston branch, approximately a 1 1/2 hour drive, and spoke with a gentleman there (I wanted to talk to the manager and he may have been one of them). He called the Loss Draft Department in Georgia. Again, they refused to waive any of the paperwork requirements and were quite nasty. When I asked to speak with their president, I was told they didn't have one. Supposedly, they have a management "team" and there is no one who makes policy or can waive the requirements. This is ridiculous. For the policy not followed by other banks that I know of, to be a policy, someone decided on it and that person or persons can waive or adjust it at will.

They were adamant that I will not get the money until I jump through all their hoops. They would not tell me how I could get the "clean air" certificate or from whom, although they must have other people in Texas in the same situation. All these documents require that the contractor and I both get them notarized. He has heard of these certificates but they are not generally required here as far as we know. Chase says I have to pay a company to do this. I told the gentleman in the Houston branch of Chase that if they did not release my money, I had no choice but to contact a lawyer to sue or walk the mortgage. I cannot continue to live like this. I also told him that Chase could hire its own contractor, subject to my approval and do the work itself on the money there is. I doubt they can find anyone who can. The Houston branch can do nothing about my problem. They tell me that only the Georgia office can.

They did tell me that a Ms. ** would call me today. She has not done so as of 5:37 pm our time. My "kitchen" consists of an ironing board in the second-floor bathroom with a toaster, microwave and coffee pot. This past week, the contractor hooked up the refrigerator in the dining room so I can at least have cold drinks and fruit. I have been living like this since the hurricane. I had 2 1/2-3 feet of water in the house and lost all my downstairs possessions. I have received numerous denial letters from FEMA, all claiming it needs more documentation.

Next thing I know, $700 is missing from my checking account and I still have no idea what their closing costs are. By Federal Law, they are required to provide a good faith estimate of these fees within 3 days of the application. This never happened. Over a month goes by and it’s the day before I am scheduled to close. I finally get a copy of their fees and they are charging $600 in junk "underwriting fees" and "processing fees". This is about double from what I've seen anywhere else. I complained to my loan officer and reminded her that she was violating Federal Law by hiding these from me until the night before closing. She conceded that they did not provide a good faith estimate as is legally obligated. She then simply said she was sorry and refused to negotiate the outrageous junk fees. I wanted to walk away from the loan, but rates had gone up in the meantime and it would have been more expensive.

Why? No specific answer as I have been calling them and they do not tell me the real truth. I just got an email from the FDIC and they told me this:

“The FDIC insures the deposits of JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association. As a national bank, however, it is regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Since your complaint deals with the operation of the institution, rather than deposit insurance, you should contact that agency for assistance. You can reach the OCC Office of the Comptroller of the Currency Customer Assistance Unit.”

So, everyone, make your complaint at OCC. Since I got rip off by Chase Bank, I try to get someone to hear what they did to all these people they also ripped off. I thought it is only me. In the summer of 2007, I was solicited by WaMu loan reps to obtain a new loan at a better rate. Part of the package was a HELOC for $500,000, along with the first for $155,000. In November 2008, I received a letter lowering my HELOC to $100,000 based on "a significant decline in the value of the property securing the HELOC". I called the number listed on the suspension notice after I talked to the local bank manager here in Santa Rosa, CA and asked to have an appraiser chosen by WaMu come out and reevaluate the property. They told me that an appraiser would be calling to set up an appointment. About a month later, a lady called from an appraisal company and left a message wanting to know if I was still interested in the appraisal. I did not call her back. At the 1st of March 2009, I received another letter, this time from JP Morgan Chase almost identical to the first letter but this time reducing the HELOC to zero.

Again, I called the number in South Carolina and this time, I asked for the supervisor and was put in touch with Mr. Patrick **. Mr. ** explained to me that yes, in fact my HELOC had been fully reinstated. I requested that Mr. ** send me a follow-up correspondence to that effect and thanked him. A month went by and I watched my account at the JP Morgan/WaMu website and there was no change in the status of the loan. So in the first week of April 2009, I again called the number and asked for Patrick **. This time, I was connected to Mr. JR **. Mr. ** informed me that the HELOC had not been reinstated and in fact, I had been sent a letter stating the reasons why. This was the first of several "mysterious", disappearing or non-existing correspondence which was never sent by JP Morgan Chase.

Again, I asked to appeal the suspension and was told of the need for the appraiser. I relayed the story of the appraiser failing to call for a month to Mr. ** and told him that I had already contacted a local appraiser for the job since I was expected to pay for this service. He told me that I could only use the appraiser that JP Morgan Chase recommended even though I would have to pay for the appraisal. Mr. ** explained that this was the only way to appeal. I then asked to speak to his supervisor. I was told that someone would call me the following day. I received a brief unintelligible message from someone about 6:00AM on my cell phone the next morning. On May 5th, I sent another message through the WaMu/Chase website explaining the situation and received a reply on 5-7 telling me that the account would remain suspended, and a letter of explanation would be forthcoming in 7-10 business days.

I then called my local bank manager Craig **, who presided at the original document signing, and he gave me the number of the corporate offices. I called and spoke with a lady named Soledad on May 12th. I explained the situation. She told me that she would look into it and call me back. After this, my wife received a phone call from a lady from Chase named Crystal or Krystal, who told her that the loan was still suspended and another "letter" would be sent explaining the reason. Today is June 2, 2009. This morning, I called Soledad again at the corporate office to ask her about the status of her inquiry. The secretary advised me to leave her a voicemail, which I have done.

My computer logged me off prior to this request getting sent. I have a huge issue with Chase. I have been a Chase Homeowner for four years and now when I need help they are turning their backs. I had a mold situation in my home which cost me over $14,000 and the insurance company denied my claim. SO to fix the home I paid out of pocket. Well, I applied on 03.18.09 for this hardship loan mod and I followed up on 04.04.09 to verify that it was received on 04.13.09. Pamela ** emailed me and told me to call the above number, so I did so and was told I was approved on 04.16.09. I was told to call back on 04.20.09 to find out the agent name.

Well, I called on 04.21.09 and was told that they did not receive my hardship request and to go to the Chase main webpage and apply again by faxing all requested info. I did so since I truly am living on credit card to pay my daily things because of our mod problem. Now, I called today and was told that they have my information however, I'm still not assigned. It's been since 03.18.09. Whats going on? I called and got bounced around and the Chase reps are rude. What should I do? Please help me.

I wanted to pre-qualify for another Chase home mortgage loan. I called Finance Manager Angie ** at Chase Watauga branch next to where I live. I asked her to schedule me for personal interview for another home loan pre-qualification. She said that she is overwhelmed with lot of work and she cannot see me. She asked me to call the 800 number to get help. I told her ma'am, did you hear what I said? I said I would like to be scheduled for a meeting with you. Not today, maybe in a week or two or even in a month. She started telling me how busy she is. She is over worked. I said I do not like to hear that, it is not professional to complain to a bank client about your internal bank issues. All I want to hear from you is when do I have a meeting with you? She said that I was rude and she is hanging up on me. She hangs up the phone.

I went to the bank just after what happened and complained to the bank manager. Bank manager was very understanding. She gave me her manager's phone number because bank manger said that she has nothing to do with this. I called her manager, Nathan **, and left messages to be called back.

After that, I called my wife to call the other Chase Bank on Beach Street in Fort Worth to schedule an appointment with a finance manager. The bank gave her a number to call. My wife left a message to the number which was the number to Angie **. I said oh no.

I will close my personal and business bank accounts with Chase. I will bank with Wells Fargo. I have an existing home loan with Chase. I will do my best to refinance and let somebody else make the money that Chase is making off my mortgage, personal, and business accounts.

From my point of view as a person with MSc. degree in Engineering, I would tell my client that I am so booked now to meet with you. The earliest possible to meet with you is on" for example after three months from now". That time I will appreciate the honesty and it is up to me that time to finance with you or with any other bank that I like.

Please, do something about this. Angie ** need more training in customer service and need to know that she never wins a battle with a customer. She may win, but the bank will loose. Losing a customer's business is not going to impact the employee paycheck, but bank paycheck. By the way, English is my second language. I am sure you would know that if you listen to me on the phone. Thank you in advance.

I began to refinance my mortgage with Chase on 1/9/09. My credit card was debited $750, for a 'processing fee' and I was told $400 would be refunded at closing. As of 5/30/09, Chase has still not given me any 'product' (refinance) for my $750. I want $750 refunded to my Chase credit card. I have over 20 emails, and many phone calls that show their lack of competence and their lies, concerning my refinance process. I believe that they are not at all interested in refinancing a mortgage, but rather interested in collecting these 'non-refundable' fees, with nothing for the consumer to show for it, except headaches, stomachaches, and the continuance of the higher interest rate (to Chase's benefit).

I contend they never had any intention in giving me a 4.75% rate, instead of the 6.25% rate I am currently paying. They just took my money, and proceeded to blow me off. The only time that something was done towards it, was when I called the bank that holds my (untapped) line of credit, and the title company. Until I made these contacts, not one thing had happened. Then to top it off, they began to say I need to provide all of my personal financial history, and account history again, because it had expired. What?

On 5/30/09, I finally backed out of the process, after having tried to do so in April and early May, but was schmoozed by the salesmen handling my case into believing it would happen quickly, telling them I had no product to show for my $750, and wanted it refunded. They refused. I want some justice here. I'm a 61 yr old single woman (which they knew via the application information), and I believe that they took advantage of me. Please help me. Thank you. The consequences include losing the $750 deposit, the cost of $227 for title search that had already begun, and that I am continuing to pay a higher interest rate of 6.25%, rather than the refinance quote of 4.75%. I am on a fixed income. This is causing me financial hardship.

On May 4, 2009, we received approval letter for a $60,000 mortgage loan from Chase. Then they shifted all our papers to a senior loan processor, Brandi, who sent me an email on May 21 explaining she is now our handler and she needs a list of items from us. We have many regarding the requested items. On May 22, I sent her an email with no response from her. We left a phone call message. No response from her. It's like we are not even applying for a loan. We are just sitting around and closing time is near. We are not going to have a loan. So I feel I am better off eating the application fee and going somewhere else. Now I read on the consumer complaints that this is a common problem with them - that we are not alone.

I feel I should not just keep waiting or I'm going to be in trouble when closing time comes. How could they get away with this? Taking money from people that are already struggling.

Chase recently bought out my bank WA Mutual. I have a home loan which is on auto pay, and it has been working monthly for over five years. Months after Chase took over, I received a letter in the mail saying my auto pay had been canceled. I took the letter to the branch. I was told by the teller they were not sure why my auto pay was canceled, but they would put in a "research request." In the meantime, I would need to pay my home loan in person on the new due date which was two weeks earlier.

So I returned to the branch to make my house payment - good thing I had the ability to make my home payment two weeks early. To my surprise, they told me that I was all paid up with all the principal payments I had made. I'll shorten this part of the story - they applied payments my ex-husband had made on his home on the other side of the state to my loan - $30,000 worth. Obviously, this needed to be corrected so he went to the branch on the other side of the state and worked with the teller who messed up his payments in the first place and she decided to randomly remove some of my payments and apply them to his loan along with the $30,000 she misappropriated.

Now I received a letter in the mail telling me that I was late on my house payments. Of course a late charge would apply and it affected my credit. So back to the bank. One hour later - yes, an entire hour working with a manager and loan professional over the phone - we have gone through line item by line item to determine which payments were mine. Mind you, she was just as willing to remove payments my ex-husband had made on his home and apply them to my home. I asked, "Can't you see where the payments originated from? We live on opposite sides of the state."

No, she was willing to just randomly pick and choose - on my word - which payments were mine. I would like to say that this is the end but .. .I was again canceled from my supposedly reinstated auto pay - before I ever made an auto payment. The most confusing part is the transaction history report I received which contains 16 separate "misapplication payment reversal for correction" line items and I am still missing a house payment. Under my payment status, they have a late payment posted on 5/13/2009 and the next payment due on 5/01/2009. Tomorrow is Saturday and I guess I will be spending my morning at the bank.

I had banked with WA Mutual for 10 plus years. They handled my home loan, home improvement loan, and both my accounts without an issue. Chase, in less than three months, has managed to convince me that they have no business being in the banking business, and after checking this website, I can see why. I have begun the process of moving all my loans and accounts.

I initiated refinancing our mortgage on December 4, 2008 via phone and one week later in person. I am wrapping equity back into the loan to use on my home. It has been six months. They've blown through four locks and were telling me that it will now be delayed further because the appraisal is out-of-date (four months) and will have to be verified by the appraiser. On two occasions in the last two months, I have requested specific information as to what needs to be completed and timeframes, all of which has been ignored. I actually went in for closing the week of May 4 and the figures had not taken into account May's payment.

It's been three weeks now and the paperwork has still not been returned and the appraisal is now reportedly out-of-date. I have had two loan officers quit. The person helping me now has left until May 28 with only an out-of-office message. No contacts in his absence, nothing. All I have is his email from yesterday telling me that in order for the process to go forward, I must allow the people to re-appraise our home. On top of that, Chase cancelled my credit card without any notice or questions because I have it paid off and haven't used it. These are the trials and tribulations of someone with a 750+ credit rating. I pity the rest of America. I would strongly advise caution before doing any business, especially mortgages, with Chase in the Dallas area. A good number of their Dallas staff has reportedly left the company.

This is a follow up from my email dated 5/19/09. Today, I was able to speak to an underwriter of Chase Mortgage Loan Division located in Bloomfield Hills, MI (phone: 1-248-203-6175). When I phoned today to inquire about the status of my loan application, I was told Mark **, an Indianapolis loan representative for Chase, had phoned them in April 2009 and told the loan division I did not want to pursue my application any further. I gasped and had to sit down. Since the mortgage underwriters had cancelled any further work on my mortgage, my file and all of its information was purged.

I really believe Mark ** does not deserve to be a representative of Chase Bank as a loan officer. (I worked for Chase Bank when it was d/b/a as Bank One in Indianapolis, IN within the Community Banking Division. Ironic?) The wonderful person I spoke with, Maria **, told me the only way my loan could be resurrected was through Steve **, phone number 317-705-7450, Indianapolis, IN. I was also told that the loan process would have to begin again; hopefully, the FHA Certificate was still good and could be used. It's on the cusp.

Tomorrow, I have an appointment to talk with the Banking Center Manager at Chase. He does not deserve to be blindsighted. I think I deserve the current mortgage loan rate which should is now lower than it was in February. If this does not go forward and at lower rate, I plan on filing an Age Discrimination case. I also have an AARP attorney listing in Indianapolis which I will pursue. I am so angry. I have been so deceived and so shocked that maybe this is a new banking procedure. It is similar to the shock before the Equal Act laws of 1974. Chase Bank has been deceived by their employee.

Is this age discrimination a scam by a major bank (Chase Bank) or is it just the action of one employee? If anyone in your organization would like to become involved, please contact me: **. Thanks for listening. This could turn out to be a big story especially now with the division of lending practices being reviewed in Congress of every state and the U.S. Congress. Lending practices are being reviewed with determination of purpose. We all need some relief.

In October of 2008, I was informed that my ARM was coming due on my home loan. I applied for loan modification and was approved starting with my November payment. The loan payment went up $120 a month. I sent in two payments (on time). Then, I received from Chase Home Finance a letter offering me to have my original interest-only loan restarted with the ARM moved out for the next five years. I sent in the signed paperwork and also called both the new loan department and the loan modification department, informing them that I would like to stop the loan mod and accept the new interest-only loan.

For the next four months, I sent in the regular payment (on time). I would get 3/4 calls a month, plus 2/3 letters from Chase informing me that I was behind on my payments. I would call Chase and every time I do, the person (always someone different) would inform me that everything was good, just a computer problem. This went on until April 2009 when I was informed by a supervisor at Chase that everything was finished and I should receive my paperwork within a few days showing the correct loan and payment requirement.

Three days later, I received a letter from Chase showing that I now had my interest-only loan, with the ARM due from December 2008 and coming due again on June 2008 raising my payment to $241 per month. I called and talked to a person in Customer Care. I was told that is the way it is and there is nothing I can do. I then talked to a person in the forbearance department and was informed that I could qualify for the new president approved loan. I need to send in $1,426 and other information by May 1, 2009 (it is now April 30, 2009). I got the money sent through Western Union and faxed the paperwork on May 1, 2009.

A week later, I called to verify that everything was going as planned. I was informed that Chase had received the money but not the paperwork (forms). I offered to fax again to a different number supplied by the person in this department. I have a fax confirmation that it went through. However, I was informed on May 8, 2009 that my money was being sent back for failure to complete the required paperwork. It is now the 20th of May and no money has been returned to me. I have set up a new loan again starting June 1, 2009, but I need the money back from the first payment so that I can send them again on June 1. I also received a letter stating that my home is now in foreclosure.

I am at a point where I don't know what to do. I have a letter from Chase showing my loan history and it shows no missed payments. But they say I am $3,900 behind. If I lose the house, then I will just rent for a while. I have talked to two different lawyers and no one wanted to help. I will never use Chase for anything again, and I hope that no one else does either.

He asked me if I would like to pay off all my debts by refinancing my home mortgage. It was a great idea, I said yes. The application was completed in the amount of $80,000 with an interest rate of 5.5%. At that time, Brandon gave me a credit card with 0% and told me to charge anything I wanted to get my debt closer to the $80,000 amount (As a side note, my home appraised for $144,000 and I had over $58,000 in a SEP-IRA and other assets at Chase Bank). I paid an $80 application fee on January 8, 2009, and received a Direct Endorsement Approval for a HUD/FHA-Insured Mortgage instrument, which I signed and the Mortgage Loan representative, Mark **, also signed.

I knew this document was an acknowledgement of HUD/FHA's intent and review. I would like to state at this time that I am 68 years old. The US Government asked us all to stimulate the economy and refinance our home mortgages. Back to my complaint. Brandon ** left Chase Bank for National Guard Training sometime in February and would not return to the bank until October 2009. After Brandon left for duty, I only had Mark to communicate with on my loan progress. The last part of February and during the month of March, I began to phone Mark for updates. Mark ** always has his telephone on voice mail. I left message after message asking him to return my call without a return call. On March 20th, I phoned the banking center manager, Dan **, and asked him if he could find out any information for me and return my call.

Mark phoned me the same day stating he had written my number down wrong and he wasn't able to get back to me until then. He told me he had not heard from the mortgage underwriters at that time. On March 30, 2009, I went into the banking center to talk to Mark. I arrived at the banking center at around 12:45 pm. I asked to see Mark. Mark was at lunch, but should return within an hour. I had taken a book with me and sat down and waited. Every banker within the bank asked if they could help me including the banking center manager, and I said, "No, I was waiting for Mark **." At 2:45 pm, Mark acknowledged me and had in his hand a document showing the FHA had issued a Certificate of Approval. He then asked me what would be a good day for me to close on the loan. I told him, "Any day, any time." I did not ask for a copy of the document, my mistake.

After many more calls with no return call, I left Mark a message that I would be in the bank and would like to talk to him again. I went into the bank on April 12, 2009. On that day, I asked Mark for a copy of the document he had shown me on March 30th. I received a copy along with Mark's verbal acknowledgement that the application had gone back to the underwriters (makes sense because the loan had be suspended) for review of a new credit report and a request for bank statements. At that time I asked for a copy of the document he showed me on 3/30/2009. I noticed when I looked at the document, it was a Chase Loan Memorandum - Suspension. The original document suspension date was March 6, 2009. And March 30th was the actual Suspension date. I asked Mark why the suspension and he assured me my FHA certificate was good for a year and I had nothing to worry about.

Today is May 18th. I went to the banking center to see Mark again because he does not return my calls but I had called him to say I was coming into the bank today and would like to talk with him. Today, I was told that Mark had moved to the Chase Banking Center in Speedway, Indiana, and had taken his mortgage loan files with him. I believe he is waiting for me to die, thinking I'm just too old. I am at my wits' end with his terrible customer service. I am not going to let this die. I think AARP and the Legal Aid Society need to contact Mark **, Chase Bank, Speedway, Indiana. If anyone wants to take on a very large bank with assets, ask them to get in touch with me.

I was told the process could take 60-90 days, as short sales were the longest home buying process. My real estate agent and the lender worked hard to move this process forward, but Chase was dragging its feet. Fast forward 6 months and we were told on Monday to get ready to schedule home/pest inspections and that it was all but a done deal. Come Wednesday and Chase has decided that $289,000 isn't enough, and they asked for $35,000 more from us, and they asked for $15,000 more from the current owners.

I was in close communication with the homeowners, lenders, and agents, and everyone was stunned. The new price pushed me out of the running and pushed the current owner to foreclosure. How is this good for anyone? A Chase rep told the lender that since it's been 6 months since the house was put onto the market and that the market in that particular area had rebounded very well, they needed to increase both the selling price and the amount the owner was willing to absorb. Why won't Chase honor its original selling price?

My husband and I are now on our 7th month of trying to work out arrangements to pay our outstanding monthly payments. I am currently a member of the military and we were offered a grant from an organization that would have contributed to just over half of our outstanding balance. Chase refused the payment saying their system would not allow them to accept any payments other than to total amount. We then resorted to setting up a repayment plan. With my husband still currently unemployed the repayment plan amount of $2,300 was unacceptable as we also have three children in our home. It would have just set us up for failure. We then sent a letter to Chase as requested denying the repayment plan and requesting a re-modification. During the initial call, we were told by the Chase representative not to make any further payments while the re-modification was in process.

When my husband called regarding our re-modification (after numerous attempts and no response from Keith **), he was constantly told that Keith ** was handling our account and they could not help us. Again, continuing to make contact with Keith ** with no success, my husband was able to reach someone else who told my husband they did not receive the paperwork and that he should fax. This person also said that Keith ** was very busy due to the current situation. How should we be penalized for the lack of quality employees they have handling these cases? We then received a sheriff visit 2 weeks later. What was this? I am currently deployed and doing my best to support my husband and to ensure a home for my children while thousands of miles away. Not to mention the stress of this ordeal has causing panic attack and jeopardizing my health.

We have a 10" pile of notes as to when and who attempted to contact Chase. We even went to another organization that made contact with a loan migration officer who again received our loan re-modification information. We have provided to Chase on 4 occasions their requested information and still no progress other than a foreclosure. We have been trying for 7 months straight to get this worked out and no success. How can this be legal that after all our attempts to make arrangements and submit all the information they requested, they can just take our home? I could see if we did not attempt, but when does it end? So now, we are looking at over $5,000 in additional fees if there is any hope of saving our home. Where is our protection?

No apologies. No explanation for the switch. The buyers could not come up with that much extra money. Chase told them they would work with them to get an FHA loan. Chase said they could make this happen fast since they had the paperwork already done. Well, it dragged out for weeks.

Chase could not have cared less and made no attempt to help the process along. This not only resulted in the loss of the deal on our home, but also the loss of a deal on a beautiful home we had contract on in North Carolina. So the prospective buyers of our home as well as we are now out thousands in fees to attorneys, inspectors, etc. This is a travesty. Chase was heartless, uncaring and unwilling to do anything to speed up the process. Even after they promised they could work an FHA loan, it did not come through. Then not even 30 days later, they said they are putting my property tax escrow into my account despite emails and faxes. Even the lady at the property tax office I had an appointment with told them not to escrow it in, but they did and it brought my payment up to $946 per month. Now after only paying for four months, they sent me a new bill without any notice that my escrow payments went fron 36 months to 12 months. My new payment is now $1,318.11 - way more than we can afford and over $250 more than it was before.

We did loss mitigation just 6 months prior. My family lived in this house for over 30 years. My mother and father both died here and their ashes are in the backyard as they requested. If it wasn't for this, I would move and get away from Chase. Hopefully, some lawyer will get a class action suit against them for creating hardships to get money or homes from its customers, especially when they do things like this after the government gives them an incredible amount of cash to help against this kind of practice. Why is it they need more cash from their borderline illegal practices? If there's a lawyer who thinks he can help and get their fee from Chase in a suit, I will be more than willing to do so.
