I currently have my mortgage with Chase. I recently sold a second home and wanted to refinance the current mortgage for a lower rate and repayment length. Great! Ryan ** the loan specialist gave the terms and the necessary info to get the ball rolling. This was on Sept. 5th. All paper work requested was submitted and the loan processor Shukri ** took over. She said that an appraiser would contact me and complete the appraisal and we would be ready to close on the loan. The appraiser did contact me and set up a day and time for the appraisal. The day and time came and went without any appraiser or any contact.
I then contacted Shukri and explained what happened and requested that the appraisal be assigned to another company. She said that would delay things and she would contact the appraiser and see if anyone else was available to do the appraisal. In the meantime the appraiser contacted me and said that he had never missed an appointment and his wife was ill. I said fine, let's set up another day and time. On the day I was flying home from work to meet the appraiser, I received a call on my cell phone to inform me that that appraisal had been cancelled by Chase and that the appraiser could not do the appraisal. I then contacted Shukri to ask what was going on and she did not have a clue.
However, she said she would make a few calls to see what happened. The order was resent and another day and time was scheduled for the appraisal. Finally the appraiser made it on time. The next week Shukri scheduled a closing day and time. The day before closing no word from Chase. I called Shukri and wanted to know if we were set to close on the date given. She wanted to know who gave us that date. Once again, she did not have a clue. I then called Ryan the loan advisor and told him of the situation. He said that he needed to be the contact person for the future. I was then notified that the appraiser had a medical emergency and would not be able to complete the appraisal.
Therefore, another time and day was set up with another appraiser. Ryan called and apologized and said it would be made up in closing discounts and that he would contact me on Friday. Of course Friday came and went without contact. Therefore, the following Monday, I called and left word to contact me. Of course there has been no contact. This is Oct. 21 and the 60 day lock in rate will soon expire. Credit score is in 800's. I guess Chase does not need to retain good customers during economic woes! Oh well, some company will take advantage of the situation.

So back in February, I decided to pay extra into escrow. They never applied the monies to escrow, they decided to apply it where they wanted and six months later which was about a month ago, they realized they messed up, so they moved the monies finally into escrow. Well when they did this, they messed my account up, now for 2 months they been calling and harassing me, at work and home saying I'm a payment behind, and I KNOW FOR FACT I AM CURRENT AND ON TIME every month.
So I call and get the shift around and no one seems to be able to help me when they're in the wrong, not to mention they want me to do their job for them by finding all my paperwork to prove I paid, someone needs to investigate them and shut them down and they have done this exact thing about a year ago and finally fixed it after I had to contact a lawyer. I have spent hours and hours on the phone and have not gotten nowhere, time off work, my wife is so distraught to where it affects my 10-month old, so scared they're going to mess up my credit or foreclose on me for their mistake.

Our home mortgage loan is escrowed to pay our county taxes and homeowners insurance. We refinanced in June 2008 and the first tax payment was due by September 2nd. We own 3 parcels of land. Two of the parcels were paid on time. The third parcel, the one with the house on it, was not received until it was delinquent. Therefore, the county clerk returned the payment to the mortgage company because it was the incorrect amount. Since then, we have spent many hours on the phone and sitting in Chase Bank branches trying to get to the bottom of this mess. We get so many different stories from so many different people! The last one was that they sent out a new check via FedEx and gave us a tracking number.
When 5 days had gone by and all the tracking number gave us was that the package data was transmitted to FedEx, I called FedEx to see where the package was and why it had not updated on the tracking web page. The gal there tells me that it can't update because they do not have the package... The only thing that Chase Home Finance did was to print out a label. They did not send the check! Complete morons work for this company! We are now a mere 6 days away from no longer being able to pay it! As of the 27th of October (if not paid) they will auction off the property for the tax amount due! So, we need to take in the obscene amount of money to the County clerk on Thursday the 23rd to pay our taxes when we have already been paying them through our monthly payment with Chase.
We have to wipe out our saving account to pay something that we have already been paying on in our monthly payment on the home. And then we get to fight the county & Chase to get back the extra money that was supposedly sent to the county from Chase. What if we didn't have that money available in our savings? What if the payment couldn't be made? We would lose our home because Chase Home Finance has a bunch of non-caring idiots working for them!

I refinanced my home in 1-08. I told the broker and the title co. that I wanted my taxes to be taken out of mortgage payments. They understood and insured me in the contract that they were in. About March of 08, I had received a bill for taxes. I had notified Chase. They said they contact the county offices and take care of the taxes. Sept 08 I had received another notice that my taxes were past due. Now they doubled. I notified the broker that had refinanced my home. She had contacted them at Chase. They had raised my payment $156.00 a month. This is supposed to come out of my impound fees. I have a fixed rate. I'm being ripped off and I'm tired of it. I'm having a hard enough time making the payment now and now they raised it. They're supposed to be fixing problems, not make them worse because they screwed up.

About 2 weeks ago, I have been called on my cell phone with the person calling looking for a person they said was Dante **. I explained I was not him and have had this phone for 2 years and to please not contact me again. This week, I had four calls- two calls from 813-881-2272 and two from private number showing on my cell phone all looking for the same person. Today I drove 30 miles to Wichita Falls office of Chase and spoke with Sara **. She spent about an hour on her computer to find Dante. Then my cell phone rang from private number calling and I passed the phone to her and she spoke with the caller who was with Chase mortgage division. She finally found Dante and he did have my phone number on his file. She said she would remove it promptly.
I explained to her I was harassed by Fannie Mae about this same person and finally threatened to call both us senators and my representative and ask them to help remove me from their call list for Dante. It worked - no more calls. So I left the Chase office at Wichita Falls, Texas thinking I was Dante free at last- but no! Another call from the private number about 5:30 pm and another call about 9:00 and she would not identify herself and who she worked for. This is the last straw for me. I have a loan with Chase and will not be seeking a loan again. I suggest maybe my attorney will be contacting your Wichita Falls office. I will also be contacting my Washington senators to see if they can help resolve this harassment.

Yes, we were several months late with Chase on our home equity loan. Chase was unwilling to work out payment arrangements with us in our time of need (my husband was laid off work). This past week, I went to a Chase branch and made a large payment getting us caught up to less than 1 month behind. I started getting phone calls from Chase and was wondering why since I made a payment. I called the guy back and he said that I should not have made a payment, that I am in foreclosure and have an auction date for Nov 4th. And I should have received a letter from their attorney.....
Well, I never did. In fact, I have just received my bill. Which he said I should not have received a bill for the past 2 months. Well I have bills and asked him if he wanted to go a branch and show them since he didn't believe me. He said in order to get out of foreclosure, I will probably have to pay up to $1600 in attorney's fees. I hit the fan right about then. We were finally able to get caught up with all of our creditors and this with would keep us from getting current. I Asked for the attorney's phone number because if there was an attorney's bill I want to see what they have done because I never received one damn thing from them. He gave me their number. I called and confirmed with the attorney who said they just received our case, that they have not started anything with us or never sent us a letter.
WELL...it is less than a month away from the date this guy is telling me they are auctioning off our house. Aren't they supposed to notify us in writing???????? So by the end of last week, they told us, ok, if you pay $560 in fees (since by that time I have paid our regular bill making us completely current) that we would be in good standing and they would stop the foreclosure process. So we did. Now, yesterday, Tuesday, I get a call from this guy AGAIN... "I am sorry we made a mistake. You still owe us $340 to stop the process"... ARE YOU KIDDING ME???????
This should be SO ILLEGAL. What is going on? How can they just call me and I owe them more money after it was supposed to be taken care of? Why are they doing this? What happens next month? Are they going to this again? I was never notified for any of this. I am so ready to start a lawsuit against CHASE. Please email if you have had a similar situation. This is ridiculous and should not be allowed. But for $340 in FEES, we could lose our house if we don't pay this. We are going to have to pay this, but we are not keeping quiet about this.... People need to know their rights or lack thereof. Our Government Bails these banks out for $700 BILLION then our government needs to know that these banks are unwilling to work with the American people who are the real people that need bailed out. Contact if you want to start a law suit for a similar case. We have contacted an attorney in regards this.

My husband and I have a mortgage through Chase. We have fallen back on mortgage payments and have made several attempts to get help from them. They have yet to help let alone being able to talk to the right people... When you do get a hold of someone, they don't return any phone calls. We have a good amount in equity and have tried to refinance but my husband's credit score is too low. We are paying 9.25% interest and have a $9000.00 prepayment penalty. My husband has been cut back to less than 40 hours a week so the money is not as good as what it once was. They also told us our taxes were escrowed and they weren't so now besides being behind in payments, I have to come up with $4000.00 to pay my taxes. I was not able to be put on the mortgage because I found out I'm in the credit bureau as deceased so my husband had to sign the paper work. It's just out of control and us as consumers can do nothing about it... I have managed to make contact with a company who can hopefully turn this mess around and I can get back on track.

Like most of the other customers of Chase shown above, I fell behind on my mortgage payments. My husband died, I refinanced with Countrywide, and ended up with Chase. I do not particularly object to being contacted by Chase. It is their right to attempt to collect money due them. I do, however, object to their rudeness. I have found I can, with very little effort, become just as rude.
I was three months behind on my house payment and made two of those payments on September 30th. I told them at that time I would call them on October 15th to bring the account current. I received a call on October 1 to make payment arrangements. I told them I had told them I would call them on the 15th and that they didn't need to contact me prior to that. They informed me they could call me whenever they want (which they do....up to 9:30 p.m.). I receive calls every day, to which I respond as soon as they have identified themselves, "Have you read your notes? I'll call you on the 15th. Thank you for calling. Good-bye."
But to address my issues with Eva ... She called me one day at work (they have been repeatedly requested not to contact me at work). I told her to give me her number and I would call her back. She kept trying to engage in conversation, which I could not do because I work out in an open office and I do not particularly want everyone to know my business. After I made the request for her phone number 3 times, I hung up the phone. A short time later, I received another call from Eva (even though I had already talked to her...to the extent I could). She asked me if the receptionist had delivered her message.
Of course, I didn't really know what she was talking about, since our receptionist doesn't really take messages... We all have voice mail. I told her I had not received a message from the receptionist, so she proceeded again to engage in conversation. I told her if she wanted to give me her number, I would call her later. She still chose not to give me the number, said the receptionist had it. I think the whole thing here was nothing more than an attempt to embarrass me at work. A little later, the receptionist delivered a message to me. I called to complain to her supervisor; however, he lets all messages go to voice mail and does not return calls. I think they break 90% of the Fair Debt Collection rules. I just don't understand how they keep getting by with it.

Over a year ago, I noticed that my property taxes weren't being paid by Chase. I was under the impression that it was because of Homestead Exemption. I called them and was told that I wasn't exempt. I am a disable veteran with a 70% disability rating. I called my Tax Assessor's office and was told that I needed to send proof of disability, which I did right away. It really didn't make a difference at the time, because I was paying property taxes for 2007 and wasn't exempt until this year.
The problem is that Chase mismanaged my account and failed to pay the property taxes, which caused my escrow to be in default and now I have a shortage spread. My mortgage has gone up by $400 due to their incompetence. I was talked down to, as if I were the one that didn't understand what was going on. She wanted to point the finger at the Tax Assessor, in which they had indeed sent the bill, it just wasn't paid properly and now I have to pay for it...literally! Nobody wants to accept responsibility for mismanaging our account. I am so fed up with Chase and am in the process of looking to refinance with another company! I DO NOT recommend Chase for any business dealings!

I was approved for a loan modification in July 2008. In order to finalize this, I was to send in a good faith payment by way of certified check and have the paperwork of the new mortgage agreement notarized and mailed back to Chase Home Finance in their return FedEx envelope. Called and checked to see if documents were received and the representative said yes and said the papers go to Texas and the check to California. As of Aug 8, everything is still fine and I called to verify 1st payment amount due on the new mortgage and also the date due.
Aug 19, called again to reconfirm payment amount due before sending. Aug 27, sent payment via Western Union (payment was due Sept 5). Called Chase with confirmation number. Around Sept 15, received legal paperwork about foreclosure from Carbon County Prothonotary office. Called Chase and was told everything was ok that they were going to fax the papers to their lawyers updating them about the modification. Sept 22, received Western Union payment back in the mail. Called Chase and at first they said that they did not receive the cashier's check and then later when transferred someone else said similar and then after being transferred 4 more times they received cashier's check but not the notarized papers which was explained to them were all in their prepaid return FedEx envelope.
Sept 23 talked to supervisor Marcy **. She placed a hold on the acct because she does not understand why the good faith payment was received and the papers were not. Marcy seen in computer that Sept payment was made on time. She also stated that in her computer she had seen the numerous conversations with Chase I had about payments, etc. Marcy said she was sending emails to all the management to see why things are not being documented and why check was received and not the papers. I was told to call back in 48 hrs to give management time to respond. Asked also about the court papers that were sent to me and she stated "No worries".
Sept. 24 Chase says" final word" on the notarized new agreement was that they did not get it. Chase said that they were checking into possibly reopening the loan and sending out a similar agreement for us to sign and return otherwise. Chase said that we would have to reapply. Sept 26 Chase was sending out a new modification agreement overnight for us to sign and notarize. I waited all weekend. Sept 29 Chase acknowledged Friday's conversation. However it's under accelerated review. I have been in contact with representative McCall's office in Lansford, PA. I spoke to a man named Bill who told me to fax my last correspondence with Chase and I also faxed to him my story which is the same as you see here. I had to fax them 2x by the way because the first time the fax was not received.
After waiting a few days, I called back and was told he was in contact with people from Harrisburg who help people in similar circumstances and he said they were going to call me and to let him know when they do. Well they have not called yet so I will call him and have him give me their number. I have decided in the meantime to reapply as it was mentioned to me to be a possibility of having to do so anyway so I figure what the heck. Chase gives me a fax number. I send out 2 faxes from 2 different locations so I do not have hear them tell me that they did not get the fax. Well guess what... They tell me that I sent the faxes to number that does not exist. Ok so I get another fax number and I go to yet again 2 more fax machines and fax.
I call about the faxes and Chase tells me that 2 of the papers were not legible and they tell me to fax them again to another number and guess what number that was... The number that they initially give which I was told was non-existent. God help me. So I go fax again and this time I also mail the papers certified and with return receipt. So as of the moment this is all. I wait and I hope and pray for the best for my family.

We refinanced for a fixed rate of 4.75% fixed for 30 years, no cost, no points and no pre-payment. No copies were given at the time of signing just promised to be sent in a few days. We requested them numerous times but were just given the runaround. After we received our first statement about 6 weeks later, we noticed the loan was changed to a 7.5% pick-a-pay adjustable loan and $20,000 was added to our balance without our consent. We notified them right away explaining what had happened and they assured us everything would be corrected. After 2 months of calling and being given excuses we realized that we were involved in a scam. We have even found a federal court case against these same people. They have been reported to all the agencies and police and we are still looking for the best attorney to help in cases such as this.

Branch approved our loan and set up a payment for the loan. They then stated it would need to go to the underwriters and then sign some papers. The underwriters called and said we would need to give them 600.00 dollars to finish loan process so we give it to them. Then 3 days later, they come back and say they denied the loan and keep the money because it was non-refundable in which none of this was discussed. Now they are charging a Miss/fee that is wrong.

My husband went into real state in 2007 and things got really bad on the market. We got behind on our payments month after month. My husband informed Chase on what was happening. We lived in the house for almost 10 years. My husband even wrote them a hardship letter because of the changes in our finances. Then we begin the process of a short sell due to the fact we could no longer make any payments. We had a buyer ready to purchase the home to keep us from foreclosure. But Chase denied the offer and now we are out of our home. Now my question is how many more will have to suffer the way my family and others are suffering at the hands of this mortgage company that doesn't care for homeowners and their families?

We signed a escrow agreement stating that Chase would pay our local taxes and insurance. They were notified several times that the taxes were not posted on our property and the last straw was when we received a certified letter from the county that our home was going up for sale. It took Chase Mtg 2 years to resolve our county taxes. They never followed up to verify the taxes were posted to our property and then we were give 7 days to prove that the taxes were either paid, pay them ourselves (even after Chase had our money!), or allow the county to put our home up for sale because Chase did not resolve this matter in a timely manner.
We paid our mtg payments every month and on time- we were not delinquent at all. Doesn't CHASE have a obligation to verify and or receive receipts that our local taxes were paid to date? Our property was in jeopardy of going up for sale if the money was not received.
It took this company 2 YEARS AND repeated phone calls to resolve this matter with the local tax office. Part of our Escrow contract states it is agreed they would pay our taxes in a timely manner. However, if they never verified that the taxes were properly posted to our account, how can they justify they fulfilled their part of the contact?

However, we had been working hard on improving our credit score and it was good and we couldn't afford a higher monthly payment. He put me on hold to talk to his supervisor and check to see if it was to increase. He said, it will not increase for at least 2 more years and not to worry, it's staying at a 8.8% and payments will be the same at $1,685.00. Then in June, 2008, we got a letter from Chase saying our interest rate was increasing to 10% on July 1, 2008 and payments would now be $1,998.00.
Now we are struggling to make each payment and have fallen behind 2 and a half months. I do chemo therapy once a week as part of my treatment and stress aggrivates my disease so now my doctors have increase my medications because i've been getting worse. No transactions our listed on our statements of any of our payments going to their so called suspense account and they wont release them as they say it takes time all of them giving different answers every time you call.
Hours on the phone no resolutions. Their customer service is very good at avoiding any wrongdoing by them. When we did finally recieve the loan modificaiton paperwork, the wanted us to acknowledge that we were in default on our loan. We have made EVERY payment to them. Someone needs to shut this thing down. It is affecting the lives of thousands of people. They never disclosed they were going ot hold our payments and then try and say we were delinquent. All we wanted was to look at the possiblity of a new terms and this is what we get? They were not assigned at the servicing of this loan until after the loan was done.
Time off from our normal lives trying to fight them on reversals of the late fees. They wont release our suspensed funds to make it appear we are late. I have been paying $83.00 PMI insurance per month on my mortgage for 3yrs and 3 months. Last year i paid $350.00 for an appraisal to refinance my home. I changed my mind on the refi because it would have cost me about $6,000.00 to do the refi. So instead i asked Chase home finance to drop the PMI since the value of my house put me way above the 20% mark reqiured to have the PMI dropped. Chase wanted me to pay for another appraisal because they claim they hire different appraisers for PMI than they do for refinance.
I found out that that is a big fat lie. I checked with their management company and they use the same appraisal company for both, which is C.A.M AppraisersLTD. I have made numerous calls to no avail. I also found out that other customers of Chase that have paid again for an appraisal to drop the PMI, nothing has been done, they keep charging that premium. We as consumers need someone to do something about this.
In Chase Home Finance guideline form, one of the requirements to drop the PMI is at least 3 yrs. time lapse and/or loan to value ratio more than 20%. i have both requirements met. My mortgage balance is $144,400. My home value is $190,000. Please someone do something about this.

I am not a customer of Chase Home Finance and I never have been. By some means, Chase Home Finance has my phone number listed for one of their customers who is delinquent in payment to them. They have been calling me, sometimes up to 3 times per day, for about the past 6 months. I have repeatedly told them that the person they're looking for can not be reached at my number, yet they continue to call me and ask for the same person.
I asked them how to get my number removed from their list and they provided me with a number that I could call, but when I called, they told me that my number wasn't on their list. I asked to speak with a manager the one time they called and the manager told me that to be able to remove my phone number from their list, I would have to provide him with my social security number. I explained that I wasn't a Chase customer, so he would have no record of my social security number, but he insisted that the only way he could remove my phone number was if I were to provide my social security number.
Again last night, after the 3rd call of the day, I called their collections department and explained to them (for at least the 20th time) that I do not owe them any money, I am not a customer of theirs and I really want them to stop calling my house. I have been assured once again that they will no longer be calling me. Time will tell...
Nothing other than severe annoyance and occasionally waking up a sleeping baby.

Have a contract to sell a house with Chase as the mortgage holder. This is a CASH purchase for the full amount of the loan. When getting the payoff figures it was noted that there was a prepayment payoff of $6800 if done prior to 10/29/2008. The buyer wants to close 09/23/2008 a little more than a month for the prepayment to expire.
After spending hours on the phone with Chase, being transferred numerous times, I was told that nothing could be done about the prepayment amount. This company is getting their full amount of the mortgage but are so greedy that they want their extra prepapyment penalty. This mortgage has never been behind on payments, is not in forclosure or short sale. They don't give any alternatives or consideration for their customers.
I will never deal with Chase in any form again, including credit cards and I encourage people to do they same. There are other companies out there who are willing to help their customers unlike Chase.
I am now having to come up with this extra money in order to close on this house. I am on a fixed income and that amount of money being taken away from me for greediness it taking years on my life.

We fell behind on our mortgage and entered into a repayment plan with Chase. Yesterday I spent nearly 3 hours total on hold and being passed from one aggressive and beligerent collector to another as I tried to resolve a problem. My initial repayment plan called for me to send 2 months worth of mortgage payment...they demanded Western Union, which I did on the date they requested. Unknown to me, they used my checking account number (we had set up auto-pay with them prior to problems) to draft an additional $1211.46 from my account without my permission. No one ever was willing to acknowledge the problem and all refused to give me their last names. I intend to pursue criminal/felony check fraud charges against someone at Chase...how can I find out who to prosecute?
Chase took the $1200 that we had to live on for the month, and because we had no idea they took the money, my wife and kids spent 2 hours stranded on the side of the road with no gas...her debit card didn't work at the gas station because Chase took all our money. In addition they kept me on hold forever, were rude, told me I lied about the Western Union payment and were truly a bunch of low-lifes... Do not do business with them!

All payments made in time, took more then two weeks to post causing me late charges in access of 275.00 total. Charges they flatly refuse to reverse. They claim their policy states one reversal per year, I challenged and asked where the written policy is, and was it disclosed to me as their customer, their reply was they are not required to disclose thier policies publicly....under the banking and State of Michigan Laws they certianly are required to disclose them publicly.
I owe two thousand on my mortgage, I am paying it off and will work against this bank in any way possible for their ignorance and blatant refusal to reverse these charges. Online banking was a fit for us at the time, and there were no bvranches in Michigan during this period in question. Advisory!!!! STAY AWAY FROM JP MORGAN/CHASE HOME FINANCE MORTGAGE COMPANY. Use anyone but them for your new mortgage, and if your mortgage is sold to them re-finance with someone else. Another bad Bank is Standard Federal Bank.

Mother in law bought us this house. She passed in 2005. My husband went to court with our lawyer and had the house deeded over to us both, had the insurance put in our name and had the house homesteaded, which we could not do unless the house was leaglly ours. Chase sent us an escrow check in his moms name so i sent back thinking there would be no problem getting it re-issued since the house was leaglly deeded over to us. Well this was in April. I sent TWICE what they asked for, copy of death certificate, copy from appraisal, copy of deed of trust done through court with our names on it. But the worst is they keep lieing to us.
Marcia called last week, 8/18/08 and said she had the check in her hand and it was made out in both our names and she was over nighting it by end of the week first of this week. I called yesterday 8/27/08 and found out she lied again! They have lied and lied and the house is ours legally and even the attorney general's office said they were stalling and gave me the numer for the OCC to contact which I have done. I keep them informed of everything that goes on on a daily basis.
It has caused mental anguish and stress having to deal with this on a daily basis. All we want is our $1572 check back. I have high blood pressure and has been up since this happened. Its people like them that caused my mother in law to have a massive stroke that caused her death.

As a Real Estate Agent I had a short sale being held by Chase and the above named employee. After dealing for more than 4 months, we had an approval that did not match with the estimated HUD previously sent and they said this is it. We might loose our commissions of $8,000 in honor of my client who is already living with friends. They are a family of 4 people and are waiting to get in better situation to move on and get to a rental.
When dealing with Chase, I am so overwhelmed by the people who don't know what they are doing and are trained to be rude that I almost gave up many times. After so much done, we may not get paid and the family will have a foreclosure in their credit history that could be avoided. Economically, both Real Estate agents involve in this transaction for over 4 months will suffer by not getting paid after working so hard. And I have done the whole paperwork myself that comes up to 500 pages and a non-number of hours.
The Cash Buyers that offered more than a reasonable amount for the property are looking for other properties and have no place to live after waiting for more than 4 months to receive a NO in their faces. The borrowers are living with friends because a closing was supposed to happen and they left before the time. Their credit history will be damaged for many years and we know a short sale would damage it for far less time.
I wanted to know who to contact at Chase that could take care of this. I have 3 more cases with Chase and they all alike. They never answer to our calls and only get back to us if we leave tons of messages demanding a response. Please help us Real Estate Agents trying to help stopping foreclosures. Thank you very much

I know the state of Colorado has limits as to how much they can charge and when I asked them what that was they had no idea what states allow it and what states don't. They just wanted their payment. Is there any rights that the consumer has towards these gauging late fees and processing fees??? I haven't paid any of the late fees but I know when I go to refinance (which I can't do until July 2009 because of early payoff penalties) they are going to add on these fees to the payoff amount.

I called today to check on the interest rates and was told that the line of credit was blocked and that maybe my letter was lost in the mail. They told me that do to decrease in property values they could do this. We were planning to use the money to complete our upstairs. We have never missed a payment and have been a chase costumer for years. I was always completely satisfied with chase until now. I think that the are trying to rip people off. It is not our fault that they gave loans out to people that never should have been eligible. I went throught all the steps I had to do to get this line of credit, I don't see how when you are ready to use it they can take it away. I already paid my fees a year ago to get this and was told it would be available when I needed it.
Now do to chase we cannot finish our upstairs and improve the value of our home, plus we are out the money we spent to get this line of credit and the annual fee.

Chase bought my loans (80/20 ARMs) from original lender. Feb 2008 filed for modification of ARM, told it takes 60-90 days (after countless times of speaking to them and not being able to find my request). In April 2008 became ill and needed emergency surgery, resulting in inability to pay mortgages. I called Chase to update and was told on numerous occasions that the loan modification department would assess past due balance with interest rate. Could not pay May payment either. mid-May received notice from Chase that they agreed to fix my rate to 10 percent over 30 years!
In the meanwhile had gotten seperate notification that ARM would be just over 9 percent! Called Chase IMMEDIATELY about past due amount and asked why it was not addressed, rep referred me to Collections, Collections told me to pay my mortgage current or would agree to split two months payments past due over two months only. Big help! That's paying double mortgage for 2 months. One rep advised me to reapply for modification for late payments, another told me that I am not eligible because I have already gotten one, and one rep told me not to worry Chase does not want my home. I have asked repeatedly for reasonable payment options to no avail.
My husband and I make decent money and have returned to full time work but they will not budge. I have filed for Bankruptcy because I couldn't keep up with creditors and ARM, now Chase won't reaffirm debt unless we pay to be current. Can you believe it? With the economy as bad as it is, they refuse any help, including refusing partial payments. House has negative equity-it would behoove Chase to work with us, but no departments speak with eachother and frankly no one there cares. Perhaps when they go bankrupt and their rude employees don't have a job anymore they will regret not taking hard working people up on their offers.

Chase bought my loan. Its been a much less than pleasant experience. I had a medical relapse in late 2005. Savings and retirement kept things going. In 2006 - when I was still waiting for disability, and savings gone - I got behind. I stayed in and out of coherence and ability to act. Relatives offered to step in, get it current, I stay there until we got it sold and get something more financial and physical fitting for disability. Did all forms Chase asked to put my cousin and then my brother down to be able to find out what's owed and get it paid. They would not talk with either of them. My cousin tried to pay once and they wouldn't accept his money - since he's not one of the borowers.
First chance I was able to speak enough to handle stuff, I contacted them - by phone and in writing and asked for correct amount to bring current AND pay 1 mo in advance. (We're at 4 mos behind now. They refused to respond to requests. Went online to try to put it together - they locked my account. Found out by phone a 2 wks later when I called again trying to figure out what's what and square up, it was in foreclosure. (I have always had a PO Box and this is what my relatives were checking while I was down. Only the weekly junk mail ever came to the house). The foreclose papers were sent to the house - where I wasn't- although all other stuff used to go to the PO Box, they knew I was medically down and having to be cared for AND not home.
VA stopped the forclosure due to my only receiving 1 weeks notice. With market being what it is - home value went from $170's down to @ mid $80's as of today. With all the fees, balance is back up to @ 117. Chase has refused to provide short sale info, calling them is a day's work holding, being disconnected, rude staff that outright don't care, etc. My realtor got short sale papers another way and submitted. 3 offers they've denied - different reasons each time. As of today - its denied because the amount is too low AND they don't have my ex-husband's financial.
They have divorce papers from 9 years ago. I got the house in the divorce. I'm supposed to track him and the papers down with 1 day left before foreclosure. Can't get the lady back cause her and her sup's voice mails are full for days on end. Found out - they have the "drive by" appraised value at $133K. Appraisals are good for 6 months and mine expires the day before foreclosure. Homes in the subdivision are now selling in the $70's. A $90K offer is good - but they won't accept. I happen to be one who had a 6% fixed rate. My mortage was less than 1/3 my take home when I was working. Affordability wasn't the issue. I wasn't part of the adjustable rate problem. But... I'm having to suffer, and Chase doesn't give a crap.
Called VA again, if they stop it again, it will just cost more because Chase continues to tack on fees. WHEN DOES THE GOV'T STAND UP TO CHASE AND SAY NO...THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN. YOU GET NO FEES FOR THIS TIME FRAME. YOU ONLY GET THE REGULAR PAYMENT AND ANY REGULAR LATE FEES THAT WOULD HAVE APPLIED UP TO THE TIME YOU STARTED THE ILLEGAL FORCLOSURE, AS WELL AS REGULAR PAYMENT FROM THAT DAY TO NOW. If the Gov't did that - Chase would change their tune. In my case, I was told it was in their best interest to deny the sales and try to hold out for a higher offer elsewhere. But it hurt me.... The credit bureaus have shown forclosure since before I was even notified.
It was even noted that If I would have used my disability back pay to resinstate the house, that would have given me time to sell it. Now - if disability is 1.5 times the mortgage, with 2 kids - I would have been back at foreclosure in 3 mos. It made sense to pay all the other people we'd borrowed from for the 1.5 years before it went into forclosure and try to secure a more affordable place with self sufficiency. Especially since Chase has shown me in the 8 yrs of them having my account that they were not out for my interests.
Before everything happened, payments would be sent - but post whenever. I even switched to Westenr Union Quick Collect and still had to argue with them about payments posting a week or 2 late. That's when I finally threatened to file complaints. I told them it had been an issue, but my Western Union papers were proof of when I paid. IF they took 2 wks to post, thats fine as long as they reflect my account to show the actual date they had CASH wired from my debit card through Western Union to them. And don't harass me in the meantime. The realtor working my sale has said it seems for some reason Chase is bent on foreclosing on my house and is trying everything they know - including now demanding my ex-husband be involved and demanding a sale price for the balance owed and nothing less (in this market). Divorce papers not good enough. Tax records showing who claimed the mortgage interest all these years won't work.
This should never have come to forclosure. I should have been able to bring it current, save my credit, and possibly get some of the equity out before this housing stuff sent it falling. They would call, harass, and my biggest concern is once my health stabilizes, and I get the OK - I am going back to work. But...because of my credit - housing will be an issue for me and my kids for some time to come. We were already denied PUBLIC PROJECT housing because of this on my record. I only had 1 Visa with a low balance and $10/mo payment. Even my student loans were current. It is now paid in full. We're already paying much more in everything - housing, insurance, etc.
So..here I am struggling with the medical, struggling to keep my kids (they're actually a help-but still in elementary school) and when I can get and open ended - no interest loan to maintain housing for us - they jerk us around to foreclose trying to get extra fees out of me. My fam was ticked and refused to pay the additional fees. So while I had most of the money - its all or nothing. The amount owed kept changing. I had to contact their lawyer twice to find out what the reinstatement and balance amounts were.
You can't imagine the impact of going from homeowner to throwing away money on a rental. You can't imagine being "constructively" forced out of your home because a big company decides that's what they want to do. THose dealing with Chase and ay sort of late - already know how their tactics only serve to compound your problems instead of help. THeir home assistance is a joke. You have to go through a credit/income requalifying. I, at the time it started had no income at all so you can guess that answer.

I was late with my mortgage payment in September 2007 and authorized a Chase representative to withdraw two mortgage payments from my bank account. I at the time thought it was taken care of. The Chase representative never followed through. What was recorded on their record was that I promised to make the payment when in fact I did promise to pay by authorizing Chase to withdraw the payments from my bank. When I received my next statement, I realized that the payments were not taken out of my bank account and immediately paid the 2 payments. The "late" payment was reported to credit bureau agencies as over 30 days deliquent payment. I have contacted Chase three times reguarding the "late" payments.
The first representative I spoke to said she would take care of it and nothing was done. The second representative I spoke to said he could see where the problem was and would definitely take care of it for me. I then received a letter from Chase stating that they could not remove the "late" payment from my history since payment was not received. I spoke to Chase again today on July 30th, 2008 and was told again that they would not remove the late payment record. I spoke to the supervisor and was told by her that the payment was late but I explained the whole story to her. Still she would not remove it because she said that the payment was sent late as I repeated that it was authorized to be withdrawn out of my bank account.
As I told her, consumers should not punished because of an error on their part. Their customer service department never followed through with the withdraw and I should not have a negative impact on my credit report because of someone else's error. She still said nothing could be done. I feel strongly that companies should be held accountable for their employee's errors and the consumers should not be the ones to be held accountable. I have spent over 2 hours total trying to get this resolved. Any help from Chase would be greatly appreciated. Negative impact on my credit report.

So since that was the case she said well just mail them ahead as we dont get them for 7-10 days.I went to the local post office and they said that it only takes 3 days from here to phoenix. So i knew then it was in there office they just dont get it posted .Well i have been charged before in late fees but this really came to light this month due to a chain of events. This has caused me so much stress and i consider it a type of abuse to keep this up month after month.

I checked with them on the 17th and no at 4 of afternoon she didnt have it so i went on line at ten at night no it wasnt posted and then on the morning of the 18th at 6 of the morning there it was on the account posted..What !! i was shocked to say the least .She had it just didnt post it.Who knows how long it was there and then i get charged late fees for it not being there when it was there all the time. This is not fair.
Now im stuck paying late fees next month for there own mistake .This time i caught them holding it to gain the fees. They even had told me to mail it early and i said i need to have the money in the bank first dont i .Is that not intentionally writing a bad check.I figured the 11th mailing was soon enough for it to be there. giving it a 5 day time frame to arrive.I am very depressed stressedto the max and angry over the unfair treatment i am getting. This is abuse a senior dont need by any means and they dont seem to care.
Im totally depressed and upset all the time now i have physical problems from the cancer i had that stress makes it much worse.I feel it is elder abuse of some kind.

I have been having problems with Chase since January 2008. It was not until I met one of their Reps here in Atlanta, that I started, what I thought, was getting help from Chase. He gave my file to Ashley Rudolph, Research Department in Ohio. Chase has been saying that I am behind in my mortgage payments (I have a 1st and 2nd with them). I told them I was current. On June 23, 2008 Ms Rudolph and I went over all my payments since August, 2006 , at which time Chase acquired my mortgage from WMC, then Litton Loan Service, thru June 2006.
The conclusion of the audit was that I was 1 month behind on my 2nd mortgage but she was to reverse one payment that was mistakening applied to my 1st mortgage as additional principle(my error) and put it on the 2nd mortgage. Thus bringing it up to date. On July 9, 2008 I received a notice of acceleration on both mortgages demanding over $15,000 for the 1st and over $7,000 for the 2nd due in 32 days. My mortgages are up to date and I have the proof (bank entries. I have been disputing these delinquencies since January 2008 and am VERY TIRED and Weary now at age 67. Having a 87 old Mother with moderate Alzheimer's/dementia living with me does not make me feel any better under the circumstances that Chase has thrown at me. Plus living in Georgia (a non-judicial state) where you can be put in the street after 3 months delinquency.
I am now searching for a competent lawyer to insure that my Mom and I don't become homeless through no fault of my own. Consider this a formal complaint. There are many more details to this situation but as I said, I just am very tired now. I have NEVER in my 38 years of dealing with mortgages, mortgage brokers, etc. seen or experienced anything like this. Chase is TERRIBLE!
None yet, but any day I expect something terrible to happen. As it is, I have MANY sleepless nights.

I am tremendously disappointed with Chase Mortgage! We are watching so many mortgage companies go under right now due to a very weak economy and housing recession. My husband and I recently had to move to another state with his job. His company could not buy our house because he hasn't been working for the company long enough. We are renting a house in our new state for a good price, but it is very difficult for us to pay both rent and mortgage. I am a stay-at-home mom and I can't go to work right now because daycare costs would eat up my paycheck.
We have been trying to sell our house now for almost a year (it was under contract for two months during that time and the potential buyers defaulted a week before closing). All of the financial advisors we have talked to strongly urged us to call Chase and ask them to work with us to possibly allow us to be able to skip a month or so of payments and then make those payments up at closing when we sold the house.
I can understand their inability to help, but the individuals I talked to on various occasions were flat our rude, inconsiderate and uppity! We have excellent credit, have never been late on a payment, and have been somehow juggling rent and mortgage for a year now.
It's amazing in a time like this how companies like Chase can be so rude! My husband and I didn't go out and buy a home we can't afford. We didn't get an inflatable mortgage. We've made smart decisions the whole way.
I will never apply for a home loan through chas ever again.

We received a letter stating that we needed to have flood insurance for what our house is worth, not just what we owe. They took what our homeowner's insurance policy amount was and that is what we have to pay for now even though the loan is a lot less.
We contacted our regular insurance agent and he had never heard of this. My husband contacted Chase and after much holding and different departments was told Chase was looking out for our best interests. We have lived in our town for our whole lives and only had minor flooding a couple of times. It might have flooded some basements, but nothing else.
This is really frustrating because this has almost doubled our escrow payment which of course makes our house payments that much higher. This feels like a scam and I am sure this has affected a lot of people. We do not know what to do, as refinancing at this time is out of the question.

My question is, do I have any rights whatsoever when dealing with CHase Mortgages harrassment. They call my home and work number,(cell Phone) 12-15 times a day. It is an absolute onslaught of psychological warfare. After talking with mutliple customer service people and trying to explain my situation I get no cooperation. They have disrupted my ablility to work, caused enormous humiliation to my wife and I, and have stressed out my family and children. Even when I make an arrangement and promise to pay on a certain date, they still continue to harrass me. I understand they have the right to collect the debt, and I am trying to desparately get my payments on time, but i want the calls to stop. Can I request all corespondence to be in writing? Either that or I will change all my phone numbers. I can get phone calls from people from 5 different locations, some in South America. Please offer some advice.

We have had 2 mortgages through Chase since October 2003. Recently we received 2 offers on our home, that we have tried to sell for the past 2 years. The bank harrassed us by phone on a daily basis throughout the entire time that we have been waiting for them to accept a quick sale to avoid foreclosure. The home that we are in now, was purchased and we wanted to put our 1st home up for sale by owner and Chase informed us that they would help us with a bridge loan if we listed with a realtor.
As soon as we signed and listed with Coldwell Banker, Chase informed us that the loan was not an option (lie) After dealing with 2 different realtors, and only owing about 89,000 on the home that we bought for 129,000 and paid escrow into, CHASE informed me through the 2nd mortgage holder (Michael Suarez) and I quote, I don't care if your home forecloses or not, cause I have 90+ files on my desk He was very uncooperative and never called back. He asked my wife to okay a budget and to accept a proposal and disclosed the loan number to her. She is not on the home as a buyer.
CHASE offered to submit an offer to expedite the quick sale and lied about the amount and I quote again, We usually accept 10-15% of the balance, so if you will agree to $4500. I will submit the loan offer (Michael Suarez) Well, the balance due was approx. 27,000 and I believe that 10% is 2700. and 15% is still less than $4500. I am outraged!! CHASE would rather lose an offer for 112,000 and accept an offer at 102,000 or less. I really believe that they are waiting for a foreclosure? A couple looked at our home and discussed having knowledge that our home was going to foreclose?
CHASE LIES and HURTS HONEST HARDWORKING MIDDLE CLASS AMERICANS! This is an embarrassment and a huge set back to anyone who is trying to live the American dream of home ownership. CHASE is in 60 countries and there is no continuity between any office or department.

In 2002 I refinanced my home with a Chase HE loan retiring a BOA loan. In 2003 I refinance the 2002 HE loan with another Chase HE Loan. Chase completely mismanaged the loan by applying pre-payments of principle towards interest on 17 occassions during the first 36 payments. In 2005 I noted how messed up the account was in that it show me being interest rich (i.e. pre-payment of interest). I asked Chase to fix the account, find a way for me to make a prepayment of principle, and credit me for the interest that I had paid through the misapplication of funds.
Over 2005-2008 for every pre-payment amount I had to call the Chase mortgage group and they had to open up a work order in order to apply funds correctly. This added 10-20 minutes of my time in dealing with chase every month. In 2008, after dealing with Chase for 5 years on this 20 year note I decided to retire this note. When I asked about a payoff I was given one number + the daily interest amount, then when I called to confirm the final amount a new number with an additional $320 was presented. In discussions with Chase it took them 3 days and 3 people to review the account it was determined that the account was 'messed up' and interest poor and therefore I owed $320 in interest since they mess up the account in 2005. I was forced to make this payment in order to close the account.
I have had many discussions with Chase at the local level and executive resolution group. The person that I have dealt with at the executive resolution is Melissa Reed. She initially stated that she saw the numerous errors and problems with the account and that Chase would work with me to recover the $320. Here it is a month later and she is offering me $55.12 as a refund of overpayment. Adding insult to injury Chase wants $20 to close out my Deed of Trust. I have scoured my loan agreement with Chase and nowhere do I see a fee for Chase not to withhold my deed of trust.
I maintain a large sum of money in savings and investments with Chase and have seriously questioned Chase's ability to manage my investment money if they can't manage a simple interest loan. Word of warning with Chase (and any other lender), make sure your prepayments are being applied appropriately. From my impression with talking to Chase people this issue is across the board and chase is making millions by misapplying lendee's funds.

SO the closing was delayed Chase was advised even said it was not a problem but gave me a bad mark on my credit report of 30 days late. I have no proof of there statement but you would think that since they got full payment and out standing payment record for for the time of the loan also showed paid as agreed closed paid in full. I think this was unfair treatment on there part yet there is no way to defend my self even tried to get the credit reporting agency to investigate and that was a joke. We refinanced our Chase mortgage in 2003 for a better interest rate / better terms. About 2 mos. ago we applied with our regular bank for a Home Equity Line of Credit in order to do a remodel on our home. Our credit rating is and always has been very good, never late on payments, etc. We were surprised to hear from our regular bank that there was a LIEN on our house that needed to be cleared up before we could proceed with the Home Equity loan. It was obvious to our loan officer that it was from a refinancing that occurred in 2003 and the paperwork was never completed.
Called Chase's Reconveyance Department AT LEAST a dozen times, each time getting a different person. To say their customer service skills are lacking is an understatement. If I treated customers like that in my line of work, I would be fired. But these people could care less if you get what you need or not... it's not THEIR loan anymore, so why should they care? Every time I thought I was getting somewhere I got something in the mail from them stating they could not process my request for the Satisfaction / Release Document because they needed additional information from me -- i.e.: the legal description of the property (uh, hellooo??? Did you not have the mortgage on the house? Wouldn't that be in the files?); and other things like that. Frustrating? You bet!
Every time I talked to a 'customer service agent' - that title in itself is a joke - I'd get questions like "why didn't you tell us about this before?" and "how do you know it's OUR problem?". Not to mention four days of them FAXING to my home phone, even though I called them numerous times and gave them my office fax number - I don't have a fax machine at home, but my answering machine was filled up with fax tones when I got home from work every day. FINALLY I got a woman (Thank you, Kenya) who actually was helpful and looked in the file (novel concept, I know) and saw that the original release of lien was inadvertently mailed in 2003 to the recorder's office at the County of LOS ANGELES instead of the County of SAN DIEGO. (Again, they held our MORTGAGE -- you'd think they'd have the correct COUNTY in the file, right?) Kenya assured me they'd recreate the document and Fed Ex it to the correct county agency. My bank asked then if I could have the document Fed Ex's to THEM instead, and they'd walk it through the recorder to expedite the process. When I called Chase back to ask that the recipient address be changed, I was told by YET ANOTHER person - this ruder than rude person called herself a "Team Leader" - that they would NOT Fed Ex the document unless I provided them with a pre-paid and pre-addressed envelope! Again, WHO MADE THE MISTAKE BACK IN '03? Not me, I can assure you of that.
Oh yes, Chase Bank, you can be sure that I've told anyone who would listen - any many people who would not - what a bunch of dunces you are. Your customer service SUCKS, you waste my hard earned money on employing idiots who are terrible at their job and don't take their jobs seriously. You can be sure I'll be cancelling my Visa card because I will never be giving my business to Chase again, ever. When your bank goes down the toilet, don't point fingers at the economy, you have only yourselves to blame. You've gotten too big to pay attention to what goes on within your company. Reading the posted complaints from other customers makes it painfully clear.

I called Chase Mortgage on 3/25/08 to ask about interest rates and see about getting preapproved for a mortgage and spoke to Giovanna Rodriquez. I was issued a preapproval letter based on all of the information I provided to them. They collected a $395.00 application fee. I applied with them because I currently have three accounts with them and because they issued the preapproval and was told that there wouldn't be a problem in securing the loan. My husband is self employed and I was told that he wouldn't be a good candidate as a co-borrower because he did not have two years worth of W2s. I was told that I could have a non-resident co-signer and that my father would be a good candidate. I was also offered a terribly high rate as my father's credit is not as good as mine and I accepted since I was told that every bank would also offer a higher interest rate under the circumstances.
I had all of my paperwork in and completed within the first week after the purchase agreement was settled - the purchase agreement was dated 5/6/08. Chase never contacted me to notify me of any progress being made on the loan. I had to call every time and ask questions or I was not given any information. Since the house is a short sale there we have a small window to get the loan commitment - the other bank wanted to close by 6/10/08.
I called last week and was told that the loan was not back from the underwriter. I called all day yesterday (5/29/08) trying to get someone on the phone (which is not easy as they never answer to phone, never return calls when you leave a message and their voicemail boxes are usually full) and did not get hold of Joe M. until late in the afternoon. He proceeded to tell me that he had JUST THIS SECOND gotten my loan back from the underwriter and had it in hand. And that the loan was denied. The reason that I was given was that I did not make enough money to cover the debt to income ratio.
When I explained that this is why I had my father co-sign the loan, I was told that since he is a non-resident co-signer they look at my debt to income ratio. This is completely absurd and the entire reason why I had a co-borrower in the first place! Why did they bother giving me a preapproval - just to steal the $395.00 application fee? And if the loan had gone through I would have had an extremely high interest rate of 7.375%. It's a win win situation for them. Basically Chase is looking to profit from individuals by offering preapprovals when they know that they will not be accepted for a loan in the first place.
It is now less than two weeks before I have to close on the property and I have been forced to work with a private mortgage broker. If I do not get a loan in time then I have wasted $395.00 on the Chase application fee, $499.00 on an engineer's inspection, $1178.00 on homeowner's insurance and I will not get my dream home. All of this could have been avoided if Chase Mortgage was reputable. My credit is impeccable. I have no outstanding loans, I've been at my job for 14 years, I previously held a mortgage for 4 1/2 years with Citimortgage, I intend to put down 25% and have never defaulted on a loan. I would have been able to pay the mortgage offered (as high as it was because of the hiked up rate) because my husband also has an income - but of course they refused to acknowledge that he even exists.
I have been trying to contact ANYONE at Chase all day (5/30/08,) have left messages and cannot get through and have not received a return phone call to my messages. I am trying to get a copy of my appraisal since I will have to pay to have another one and I have already given them $395.00. I fully intend to close my three Chase accounts as a result of this transaction. I have lost $395.00 to Chase for their application fee. I will have to pay for another appraisal if I cannot get anyone to answer my phone calls.

You can write a novel about the devastation I went through with Chase Home Finance which I'll call CHF. I "literally" suffered medical repercussion from what this company did to me. I live in Mississippi and was affected by Hurricane Katrina. I called CHF one of my creditors and explained my recent situation and they said "we can defer three (3) months payments", which I thought was great at the time. First problem, when I got ready to pay I had to pay the three months with the current month payment.
Along with other economically and medically damaging results during the Katrina year I had to file bankruptcy debt consolidation. You can't wipe out your mortgage arrearages in bankruptcy so I agreed to pay it in addition with my regular mortgage. Second problem, CHF sent information to the courts stating my regular mortgage payment was $212.00 more than what I was paying. The court went by what CHF attorneys sent even through I fought like I was in aone man battle in the greatest war ever trying to get them to see that the amount was wrong.
My attorney never could get another meeting with CHF attorneys because they kept postponing the dates and when they showed up the attorney did not have the all the documents it was postponed again. In the meantime I still had to pay because the court was taking it out of my pay check. I was paying CHF each month $1,626.68 before all of this happened my mortgage was $1,170.00. This continued approximately one year and a half until I asked to be dismissed the from bankruptcy court I decided to pay my other debts myself.
That's when the Third problem started. After CHF was notified that I no longer was in dedt consolidation they sent me a letter stating that I owed them almost $14,000.00!. How can I owe this much when I been paying through payroll deduction a year and a half. I could not get anyone to explain this or understand my account. They transferred me to every department in that company. Its like the representatives only knew how to do "verification of the caller" routine, no one understood what happened.
Now the Fourth problem, the war has intensified, I can't send a regular payment they would have to send it back because I need to pay $13,898.00 to bring it current. Why would I have to pay this when no one could explain it. Thirty days later while fighting this I was sent me to foreclosure. Take in to consideration I have no job and did not know what to do. I'm already having to live off of a little pension money I got from the company where I used to work.
I wrote letters to everyone including FHA-HUD, I cried to these people, I screamed, I pleaded to no avail I had to come up with this money to keep my house from being sold through foreclosure. This exhausted about 3/4 of my pension fund that I was living off of already. Their explanation was a print out from their system's screen that you would have to be trained to read and understand it. They couldn't or wouldn't go over it with me. They acted as if they just wanted me to leave them along and go away.
Fifth problem, after getting my house out of foreclosure they charged me attorney fees and late charges which one representative said she would have them waived. "Not", they are still there. They also still have my regular monthly mortgage higher than my fix rate of $1,170.00. I'm getting sicker health related each day from this. I'm having to take anixety medication, anti-depression, high blood pressure, muscle relaxation and nerve medicines.
Two weeks ago I talked to a representative of CHF that took time to look at the account and noticed what I was telling her that my principle amount was wrong, my insurance premium they showed was not what my insurance company had, my property taxes was wrong. She told me to fax all of these documents to her. I didn't get her name but she had more knowlege than any of them at CHF and I bet you she is just a low paid rep that no one at CHF would give her management position.
This was great but however there is a Sixth problem, CHF correct a small part of the problem but is still looking into the rest. They said the research department it would take about 10 days. I has been more than 10 days I have not heard anything nor can I get into my account on line. What is going on with this company and WHERE IS MY REFUND FOR ALL THIS MONEY THEY OWE ME. I AM DUE A REFUND. This company is trying to force me into foreclosure and the FHA-HUD is sitting back scratching their head confused about it and ignoring me too.
Please print this to the world. This country is talking out of both sides of the mouth, one side they're saying there is help for the people who was faced with a disaster, but the other side is saying these corporation can do what they want to you. Unfortunately for me, my funds are low and in my state unemployed benefits is only $210.00 a week. You can only get up to $5460.00 a year. This is sad. The consequences of this caused financial hardship and physical damage such as anxiety attacks, acute depression and caused my blood pressure to rise higher.

In August 2007, we had damage through out our home due to water. The damage included an upstairs bathroom and hallway; kitchen ceiling; kitchen cabinets; hardwood floors throughout the first floor; wall paper throughout the kitchen area; custom made window treatments; and numerous items that had to be replaced. Our insurance company, State Farm Insurance has been paying our claim damage by checks that are made out to my wife and I and Chase Home Finance. Since Chase has our mortgage, that is the reason Chase is included. We have to endorse the checks and send to Chase. Chase in turn holds on to the money. We are doing the contracting ourselves and therefore need the funds to do the work. Chase's Loss Draft Department stipulates that they give you only a portion of the funds, but will release funds upon certain levels of completion. But in order to get to a certain level of completion, we need the funds Chase is holding to do the work. We can't get the funds because we are not at the level of completion Chase stipulates.
We have asked for some funds but Chase requires invoices; orders; and may require an in house inspection to see if we are at 50% repair completion. That will be next to impossible, since Chase has not released funds to purchase kitchen cabinets; kitchen cooktop; sink and faucets; microwave; etc. As a result Chase is holding on to $20,000.00 of money paid by the insurance company to us for the damage. I have sent over 10 letters to Chase regarding supplemental checks paid to us; documented paperwork Chase requires and still no money released to complete the repairs.
Since August 2007, we have lived in a house that has a bathroom completely torn down to bare walls; bare floor; no vanity/sink/faucet and no use of shower. The kitchen walls are bare drywall-no paint or wallpaper; no curtains or window treatments; boxes of hardwood flooring in our living room and dining room waiting to be laid in the kitchen whenever the contractor can get in to take out the damaged flooring; kitchen cabinets; appliances; and replace the floor with the new hardwood floor; kitchen cabinets; and other items necessary to live again. Every time I call the Loss Draft Department, I get a different person who tells me the same thing only in different terms. The hoops Chase wants you to jump through make it insufferable and they so not really care if you need the money or not. They have it and they don't want to give it to you, even though the money is ours to repair our home.
The consequences of Chase's Loss Draft Department's despicable actions are, we either have to borrow money to complete the work in order to have Chase release OUR money, or we have to sit and wait until Chase feels good and ready to give us OUR money. We have a contractor who is waiting to do the work but has canceled numerous times, since we do not have the money to pay him to start the major repairs. The emotional damage is worse. My wife cannot stand the condition of our house; she cannot clean the dust; debris; etc. She baby sits for our grandchildren and the conditions make it more difficult than necessary. Then 3 months later and after being charged for late fee charge of 141 dollars each months, I was told that Chase changed their policy (this happened within the period of my request). I was never notified about that so I was told they are unable to change the date.

I was forced into Chapter 13 bankruptcy after Chase was paid a double monthly payment through automatic withdrawal from my checking account by mistake. Chase only gave me credit for one payment. The next month I didn't make a payment. This happened twice. I tried to make a payment the third time, and they refused it, threatening to foreclose. I filed Chapter 13 to keep them from taking my property. Chase has also charged me exorbitant insurance coverage. I'm on disability, and the court gets most of my money, leaving me very little to live on. Had I known then what I know now, Chase could have taken my property back with my blessing. Someone should chase Chase out of town.
I can barely make it on my disability check. The court takes $765, and all I get is $975 leaving me with $210 a month to live on and pay my bills. I've been in bankruptcy for 4 years, and only have one more year to go. By the grace and help of God, I've made it through this totally unfair and unnecessary--as well as illegal, hardship.

My husband had a home loan with Chase Mortgage that his first wife and he had purchased together. They divorced after a couple of years, and he remained in the home. With money being tight after the divorce he got behind on the payments. After one year of being alone and struggling with this loan, I came into the picture. We tried to work with Chase about late payments and to get it caught up so we could make a home together, but they made it difficult. My husband borrowed almost 1300.00 dollars from his 401k and repaid up all payments. An associate told us after they received the money that we were good to go and to start paying our next payment on time. Two weeks later ,Chase home sent all the money back; and we were forced to move, and they foreclosed on the house. My husband now has a foreclosure on his credit report, and I am almost 39 years of age and with some bad choices of mine--we both have a bad credit history which will keep me from having a nice home of our own one day. We are now renting and have been since Chase foreclosed in Dec. of 2005. We pay higher rent now than the house payment was.
We were forced to move out of a home that we paid all late payments on. We paid what they wanted us to pay; and they still turned on us, and sent the money back instead of giving us a chance

In January of 2007, we had county water available to our small community. We decided to hook up with the county, as our well water was not to our satisfaction. We live in a very rural area in NC,and our water department decided to have us make our payments to the tax office--a water assessment fee. The county gave us a year to pay, interest free. We had paid $200 -$300 of the $1200 or so that was due. In January of 2013, it was to be considered delinquent. All of my neighbors and I received letters from our mortgage companies. CHASE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO TOOK IT UPON THEMSELVES TO PAY THIS water assessment fee. Chase misread this as a past due tax and paid it in July of 2007. They then forced us into escrow. My husband had a credit score of 917, which I am told is unheard of. I had a credit score of 750 which is just ok. It still shows we both pay what we owe. Our house payment has gone from $472.91 to $742. I have been with Chase since 2000 and have only been late one time. Chase has gone on to pay other things that were not due and have really punched the fees to me and my husband.
We are not rich, and Chase refuses to back down from their position. They called my local tax office and asked them if the money was not owed the day the water lines were installed. Of course it was, and now I am out of my money. I have paid all my fees. I am even 2 months ahead on my payments. I am trying to refinance. The customer service tells me a different story every time I call. One person told me I had to speak to the escrow department, and the escrow department was closed for the day. I was told to call at a later time. I called the next day to pay the ESCROW DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOT AN ESCROW DEPARTMENT. What do I need to do to get this over with? I have cried, prayed, begged, and still to no avail. They still get to cheat me--and act as though they have done no wrong. I appreciate any help you can give me.
Forced Escrow, many fees that were not truthfully owed, tears/stress, time, and worst of all our credit scores have dropped dramatically.

Chase Home Finance bought my mortgage from Freedom Mortgage serviced through Loan Service Company. This loan was originally made with United Mortgage. All transfers of my loan were done without my consent. I would get a notice saying my loan was transferred in a sale to another company and given a loan number to use for payment until the transaction was complete. My payments were sent by check from my LAPFCU directly from my account to Chase, or to the previous mortgage companies. Chase cashed and banked checks from my credit union in September and October successfully. Then in December I get a notice from Chase that the November payment was late, and a late fee was charged. I made calls stating that the payment was made as I could see the withdrawal from my account. I sent a letter stating that my credit union had my authorization to act in my behalf to provide Chase with documentation that Chase had cashed the check, and it had been paid out from my credit union.
Every week or every other week I have been in contact with my credit union agent as he calls and talks with Chase agents re. why they have not credited my account. Last week I finally talked to a sympathetic agent in (Louiiana) working for Chase who said their investigation department was in receipt of my check front and back which showed it had been cashed by Chase. He instructed me that my credit union didn't send a bank statement showing the 'rolling balance.' He instructed me to send this to a fax number 6149613871 to CAC Reasearch OHIO. For two days my computer tried to fax to that number. Never received. I called Lane in LA, and I sent him a copy of the Nov bank statement in an email. He has told me that the research department has been instructed to expedite my account. I am still waiting for Chase to credit that $641.93 payment, cancel the late fee, and send me a 2007 tax statement showing mortgage interest corrected to reflect receipt of the Nov. payment.
Chase shows me late for the current bill as they applied the December payment to Nov., January to December, and February to January. I guess I am lucky they charged me only one late fee. If this is not credited asap, my income tax return can't be computed. I am physically stressed over this, and it is possible that my perfect credit rating has been damaged.

It all started with the real estate taxes. I got my real estate taxes from my county office and realized they had my assessment wrong. I contacted the county assessor's office, and initially they had said they could not make an adjustment for this year's taxes. Therefore I faxed the tax statement to Chase; this was early November that I did this. I wrote a letter to the county assessor and included a copy of my appraisal at the time of my home closing and asked that they do an adjustment. I got a call back from the county saying they were going to do an adjustment and lower my real estate taxes for this year. I called Chase and told them to please do not pay the first one, and I faxed the second one to them. Their representative confirmed that they would pay the most current bill and disregard the other one.
Well of course, they didn't; they paid the first one. I called them back and told them of this. They then paid the second amount. So now my escrow is negative because they never refunded the first one, and they say they are waiting on the county to refund the amount; but I have confirmed with my county that they sent the refund to First American Real Estate Tax Service. (This is a tax servicing company that Chase and many other mortgage companies use for handling taxes.) They sent this the first of January, and a month later they still have not processed the return. Now the really stupid part comes in. Chase has now done an escrow analysis with the escrow still not credited for the first tax payment and is trying to raise my payment from $1683 to $2200.
I called and they said they would extend my existing payment another month until the refund got processed. I can almost guarantee they are going bungle this, and my account will get hit with late fees. I have no confidence in this company, and I think it is wrong that a mortgage holder doesn't have the choice on who services his/her mortgage. Due to the amount of problems I have had with this company I'm cancelling my 2 credit cards that I have with them and am considering refinancing in hopes that I won't end up with this disastrous company again.

I explained to him that I did not have the funds at the time. He assured me again that I could pay off my credit cards and other bills; all I had to do is pay the application fee, and in 18 days I would be refinanced with cash out, so I used money for other bills.
Then we got down to the appraisal. After I got my good faith estimate, I was asked if my house was listed. I said it was 7-23-07 to 1-23-08, and the date I started to refinance was 1/23/08. Ed, the loan officer called me and stated he couldn't okay the loan because my home had been listed. We since closed on that home, bought a new one and have a different lender. This was the beginning of problems that we never even knew that we would have for years to come! This information had my husbands ss# on it. We contacted Chase Home Finance, and they apologized.
November 28, 2007 we received a phone call from Central Credit Services stating we owe $9111.18! After researching this we found out that the man who was mailed our information, used the ss# to open a credit account at Menard's and was making payments on this account until he defaulted, and it was bought by a creditor and it was in collections. We now are educated in Credit reporting and have received all 3 credit reports! We didn't know that our credit report has foreclosures, repossessions of vehicles and chapter 7 and 11 protection on my husband's credit. Chase Home Finance was negligent in sending this individual our personal information. We used to have impeccable credit, the best you could have; now we will be lucky if we can buy a cookie on the side of the street with our credit!
We are trying to fix this ourselves but we are not sure which avenue to pursue. We would like to speak to an attorney. We have contacted Chase Home Finance and have spoken to their Legal and compliance department, however they are not willing to fix our credit and resolve this matter, that they are ultimately responsible for! I had problems getting Chase to give me credit for payments the trustee diligently sent them. I won my lawsuit, but the judge did not award me any damages???!!! The judge told Chase to type the court order and that I was to make all back payments they had refused and they were to subtract my attorney fees, which was over $3000. They sent me a letter with an arbitrary figure and charged me for THEIR attorney fees which was a violation of what the judge had stated in the transript and Order of Judgment they typed. I called their customer service and they of course did not return calls or correct this problem as had been my previous experience with Chase as well as the same experience others on this site have had.
My attorney basically abandoned me and would not file an appeal or help me in any way. This attorney had sent a letter soliciting me when Chase immediately rolled my mortgage into foreclosure after I had completed my Chapter 13. I have been told that this attorney was probably working for Chase all along!!!
About thirty (30) days later, after I could not pay the attorney fees and other fees they had unaccoutably charged me, they FORECLOSED ON MY PROPERTY!!!!!!!! I also had two willing and able buyers to buy the property, and Chase would not work with them or talk to them to facilitate the sale through licensed real estate agents. Strange things happened when I took Chase to court. At one point the attorneys were contacting me asking what I wanted to monetarily to settle the case. Then they would do strange things to close the case again and again. They have resources with trustees and the court system. At one time a representative for the California office, a Ms. Pam Brown told me, "We can do whatever the hell we want to do. The mortgage business is not monitored by anyone." Now that was bold.
Truth is it has happened to me, and the case was recently closed because a document that was requested from me by the judge handling the case, was filed on time but disappeared from the Clerk's office of Dekalb County and the case was closed. I refiled the document after going home to get a copy, and received the letter closing the case two days later after refiling the case. The letter stated I had not met the judge's request. I financed $97,000 towards the purchase of my home in 5/06 through Chase Home Mortgage. Since then, I have made additional payments on my monthly installment of $750. Usually, I pay $1,000 on the first of the month and send another $500 on the fifteenth with instructions to be applied to the principal immediately. The second payment is held in suspense and applied to the principal only upon receipt of the regular payment on the first of the following month. The payment is not credited retroactively as of the date of disbursement. Some of the explanations I have received are: their system can't be set up for instructions to apply any and all payments upon receipt; I must call with specific instruction every time I issue an additional payment; they can't apply a partial payment until the full payment is received. etc.
The interest is not being reduced. Chase is overcharging me an additional 2 weeks of interest per period while collecting interest on my money for that period of time. Interest has only decreased by 20-some dollars although the principal has been reduced by $10,000. I'm losing the interest that would otherwise accrue on the money I send Chase on the 15th if it stayed on my bank account.

Now, I need to come up with approximately $8000 to start a payment modification plus pay $900 on top of my mortgage payment, plus attorney fees. They told me that my loan was being referred for modification in August and I was to be sent paperwork. I never received any and let Theo know I had not received it. He kept saying it had been sent. I finally received the paperwork on October 4, but he letter was date August 24! Prior to getting the letter, I talked to someone that told me what to send in for modification.
I immediately sent what was requested. Today, October19, I called and talked to Peter who supposedly is taking care of my modification. He said I was #20 in line so it may be 2-3 weeks before he gets to it. I don't even know if what I sent in is sufficient to d the modification. There is a sale set for my home in February.
I am under so much stress do to not having a job for 5 months. It was the 3rd downsizing in 5 years plus going thru a divorce. My savings have been depleted. I am not a dead beat and I want to pay my mortgage but Chase is making it so diffcult or me to do so. They keep adding more and more fees, attorney fees on top. I fear I'll be homeless and will lose my job again due not having a place to live. I need someone to help me thru this nightmare. I've heard so many horror stories about Chase mortgage and now I see they are probably all true.

My husband is a 100% disabled vet, and has had numerous heart attacks and stroke. I can't even let him know this for fear he may have another and maybe a fatal heart attack. My time, thanks to them is running out, and still I do not have the paper work needed. The 2nd time was in August of 2006; Chase was saying I was 5 payments behind. Hired an attorney to fight this but because of the cost of the attorney, and to get Chase off our back, we paid the acceleration warning that was for $5,862.00 and November 1st payment of $715.00, to bring the loan current. Chase is holding the checks until 90% of the work is completed. I owe less than one third of my property value and still have to pull teeth in getting my house fixed. I have been living on bare concrete floors with pits in them. Chase refuses to endorse the check for the work I paid for out of my own pocket. We lost our home due to hurricane Ivan (over 2 years ago). We have never missed a payment or been late to Chase on our mortgage. When we rec'd the first check from our insurance company, we had to send it to Chase so they could hold it and dole it out as they saw fit. Anytime we needed more money we had to jump through hoops for them and then it would take 3 or more weeks. Contractors were wondering why it was taking us so long to pay them when we had already settled with insurance company. It is a big scam. They hold the money collecting interest and then act like they are doing us a favor to release 1/4 or 1/3 of it when we are already in debt twice over. Our new house is almost finished, we are waiting for an inspection from Chase, and they have promised to release all funds after the inspection. I have many doubts.
Had to use my teacher retirement money to pay for rebuild. Had to take out another loan to pay for the rebuild. Can't understand why Chase has to sit and hold all of our money.

I had to go to my local credit union and borrow the additional 1.187.49 and send them another check for the amount of $109,475.64 even though I didn't owe this amount. Chase Manhattan has mishandled our mortgage payments which are directly paid by Military Pension (both in Cleveland,Ohio). Payments are posted past the due date to incure a late charge or held so more interest is applied to account. We had to go bankrupt in 2001 due to unexpected foreclosure because of their error of mishandling funds. They were found negligent by a federal judge in our case. Our credit is bad due to their errors since they haven't updated our credit report as directed by the judge.
Chase Manhattan has now repeated the same scenario now that we have just finished the bankrupcy. Payments went to them and they claim they weren't received when the military has said they have mailed Chase all the payments. We are supposed to have 7,000 left on our mortgage and they have the mortgage principle at $10,000 since Sept. of 2005 not minusing the payments which were sent from the military. Our mortgage is said to be paid up on Dec. 2008. It looks like Chase is playing games with the money either claiming they didn't receive it,posting the money late or holding the money somewhere in their company. By doing this interest and late fees accure and we get put into foreclosure again by no fault of ours. Our lawyer has told us there are many with Chase Manhattan who have had the same problems exactly like ours.

I had a mortgage with Chase quite happily for many years then when the rates dropped I refinanced and pulled equity in order to buy a second home. Chase then 'bought' the new loan and after about 6 months they raised the payment 35$ claiming a tax increase and escrow shortage. Since I was so happy the first time with them I just made the new payment. They then started demanding insurance on the property. It is a townhouse and the insurance is part of the HOA and not part of the mortgage itself.
Despite HOA, insurance compay and myself send multiple copies of the policy and motgage agreement they felt the need to take out another policy anyway. I now have to pay the differance until they get the refund from the forced place insurance. 9 months? My payment went up almost 400$ a month equaling 4k+ a year for redundant insurace policy on a 150k townhome.
Every month my statement reads I'm behind a month and last months payment is being held in suppense account because it's 'short'. Every month I recieve letters stating 'accelerated forclosure' along with harrassing phones calls demanding payment. Every month my cradit takes a hit because Chase insists payment is both late and short. Every month brings several heated phone calls at which time every single person I've talked to (well over 25 phone calls) tell me they can see 'the problem' and will order a new escrow analysis, yet it never gets done.
Asking to speak to a supervisor results in either refusal or a voice mail that never gets returned. 9 months I have been hearing the same song along with assurances and garantees it will be corrected and a refund will be sent. If it wasn't such a good loan I would refinance it tomorrow. Well, it would be a good loan if chase was forced to keep to the original agreement. I have had nothing but problems with Chase ever since my loan was sold to them by Advanta. I just learned that my 2nd mortgage has been paid ahead for quite some time now due to an error in Chase's billing cycle. I had called Chase multiple times about letters that I was receiving from them stating that I was late on my payment and the letter was an attempt to collect a debt. I was finally able to reach someone three months later who informed me that because I was paying ahead (which I knew nothing about) that their ccomputer system was sending out two bills in the month.
One was showing the right date and amount, the second was due only two days after I received it and the amount was different. Don't you think that if something were this messed up and the customer had called many times, that Chase might look into it and find out what happened? Nah, that would be too easy.
The most recent thing that has transpired with Chase that I also have read in many other posts here is the delay in receiving my payoff amounts. I have my current house sold and plan to close on the 28th of this month. I called in and asked for Chase to send me the current payoff sheets for both of my loans, I have never seen them yet. I called up and was talking to a lady named December, who is extremely rude and very demeaning to customers. I explained to her that I had called in weeks before and asked for the payoff sheets to be sent to me and she told me that the computer didn't show anything of the sort and basically called me a liar.
I was able to claw my way up the food chain at Chase and was finally able to talk to someone who knew what they were doing. Problem is, I close on my new home on the 1st of March, which is also the day that the payoff sheets are suppose to hit. I am not putting any faith into what this company says, they say a 5 day turnaround time for these payoffs to be issued out, we will see if this happens. You can't talk directly with anyone in the payoff department and are at the mercy of a fax machine to get your points across to them. I have requested several times that my bank send proof of payment to Chase - and they have complied and Chase always responds with "this may take 10-14 days to research". I had to have a second knee replacement surgery in October of 2005 and as a result we became short of money due to the co-pays for the surgery. We struggled along for a couple of months but it came to a point where we needed a month’s rest from our mortgage payment. We called customer service and were connected to the homeowner’s assistance department. To cut a long story short we agreed to pay a $500.00 fee for a forbearance. We only wanted a rest for one month but the representative from that department said that they only approved a forbearance for three months at a time, so we agreed. On February 1, I received a phone call demanding payment for the amount of $5072.72.
Not only did Chase charge us the $500.00 forbearance fee but late charges on top of that and in addition reported us as being three months late on our credit report! My first point of distress is that I called Chase and attempted to work out a problem and the so-called “homeowner’s assistance” department who should “assist” the homeowner and not seize upon an opportunity to make the problem even worse. Instead of getting relief from our budgeting problem they ballooned our problem from $1171 to $5072.
If there is a $500 charge for a “forbearance” why are they charging late payments and why are they reporting the forbearance period as late? I would have been much farter ahead to simply skip a payment and allow it to run late for the period of the loan. I sent them $1250.00 for the February 1 payment when they failed to contact me in a timely matter regarding our payment status. Chase has refused the $1250 and they say it is being returned because they want the full $5072 in one check. That means that the February payment will also be late and because they made us four months behind on payments they can start foreclosure proceedings on our property! Fortunately I got the money to pay them off the forbearance charges at the Credit Union that we bank with.
We are also refinancing our mortgage through them. When a customer calls Chase customer service the customer’s concerns are never addressed. When we were at the credit union we called to get the payoff and got the same runaround as Joseph of Southfield MI (11/27/05) did in his letter. Even a phone call from the credit reporting Experion had a difficult time getting the information. (Chase never put the information on our credit report.) Richard, Sparks Nevada

On August 29, 2005 I lost my home to Hurricane Katrina. The property sustained a 93% loss of value. On the same day, I also lost every tangible possession I, and my family, owned. My place of employment for the prior thirteen years was also destroyed, leaving me unemployed. Due to the enormous scope of the disaster, the immediate future of my family became a paramount concern. I contacted Chase Home Finance on September 2, 2005 to inform of the damage and to inquire about payment options. I was told then by Chase representative, Andrew, that because of the disaster, my payments would be deferred for three months; on December 1, I would resume payments and the three deferred payments would be added to the end of the loan.
My federally declared zip code qualified us for the deferment even with out the catastrophic damage to the home. I spoke with representatives of Chase on at least nine different occasions (date, time and names of representatives can be provided upon request), each time inquiring about my loan and how it would affect my standing and credit. Each time I was assured that the agreement I understood with Andrew was unchanged; I should resume payments in December. My last conversation with Chase prior to calling to make a payment was November 28, 2005. When I called on December 5, 2005, to make my December payment, Chase representative, Erica, told me that on November 1, 2005, Chase had decided not to honor the deferments. I was told that I owed four months, due now, and that if not paid in full by January 1, 2006 I would be reported as four months delinquent to the credit borough.
I was also informed that because of my unemployment I did not qualify for a repayment plan. This caused me great concern. It was not the understood agreement. A repayment plan was finally established on January 5, 2006 with Chase representative Sonya. I offered to pay, in addition to my mortgage, $300 a month through October 2006 to bring my payments current. I made a full payment at that time. On January 23, 2006 I called to inquire about an insurance check sent for endorsement via overnight certified mail.
This check was signed for by Carlton Foley on January 9, 2005. I was told that the check was being held because I was four months behind in my payments. I explained that a repayment plan had been set up, the first installment paid, and partial repair of the property depended on that insurance money. After considerable time on hold, I was assured that the problem had been corrected and the endorsed check would be forwarded to me immediately. On January 29, 2006, today, exactly five months after the storm, I received a call from the collections department asking what I intend to do with my delinquent account.
Again I explained the payment agreement, and reiterated my intent to pay additional through October. After hanging up I called back to attempt to speak with a supervisor and rectify the confusion. I spent 29 minutes on hold before I spoke to Chase representative Leonard Blair. Mr. Blair informed me he worked in the collections department and he showed me as five months delinquent with no indication on my account of the payment plan, or record of the December or January payments. It took another 20 minutes on hold trying to speak to a supervisor only to be told that she would not speak to me and I would have to leave a message for someone to return my call. The promised return call never came although I left three contact numbers.
I have four children, my home is destroyed, my insurance company is not paying for damages below the roof, I am unemployed and I feel I have been deliberately misled by Chase. I was told one thing and at the last moment everything regarding my loan changed. Because the repairs are out-of-pocket, I do not have the resources to rebuild a home, and pay what they are calling delequent payments. Had Chase told me, I would have made regular mortage payments during the deferral period instead of investing in rebuilding the home. I am very concerned that my credit will be negatively reflected. I have requested documentation of the agreement but can not get anyone in management to speak to me.

The incompetent person who recieved the payment put the $100 into an escrow acct. which we did not have & again started charging more late fees. We knew nothing of either until we tried to finance another home & car thru the bank. They admitted their error, but refuse to fix their error because they say we owe 4 years of late fees due to the 43 cent error we knew nothing about. Now our credit is totaly ruined.

Chase purchased house insurance for me after i had proven that i already had insurance. They charged me interest and late fees when i did not pay and because of this we lost our home. Chase is the most dishonest company we have ever delt with and would never recommend them to anyone. They foreclosed on our home and made us go through a lot of emotional distress. We had to sell our home which we did not want to do and gave us bad credit.

Chase has flatly refused to waive the PMI on my condo mortgage, even though the 20% loan-to-value ratio was actually achieved shortly after I purchased the condo in 2003 due to the sharp hike in homes values at that time. Now, two years later, I am still paying PMI at the current rate of $65 a month, and Chase informed me by letter that I am required to pay PMI for the entire life of my mortgage -- till 2022 !!
Their representatives have actually admitted over the phone that this was bogus, but Chase has nonetheless consistently ignored my letters and faxes in this regard. Additionally, they have raised my monthly payments TWICE in the two years I've owned the condo, even though I have a fixed-rate 30-year loan!! The first $100 was understandable, due to the property being reassessed by the county. However, the second jump of over $100 was for an alleged "escrow shortage" – which is undoubtedly tied to the PMI costs I should not even be paying in the first place!!

For 5 months now I have had no payment coupons from Chase. I have told them via fax, phone to customer service that I was out of coupons. I have paid my usual payment through my online banking, sending them a payment last month for $1,400 ( my monthly payment was $621.59 ) I received a letter yesterday with 4 payment coupons inside dating back to Dec 1, 2005.( I've already paid my 1/1/06 payment based on previous monthly payment)
The monthly payment on new coupons is $759.00! The letter states that I owe 2 monthly installments the total amount being $1,310.02. States, If I do not make immediate payment of the amount, the Lender will take legal action. I DO NOT OWE THIS AND I DO NOT KNOW WHY MY MONTHLY PAYMENT HAS CHANGED ! The times I have tried to talk to someone at Chase, they are always sarcastic and have a condescending attitude. Who needs that.

Approximately 9 months ago Chase Manhattan Mortgage Co began billing me an escrow amount because they said my homeownwers insurance had lapsed. The total they said due was approx. 2881.00. My homeownwers insurance is only $750.00 per year. My insurance had not lapsed- i had changed insurance companies. I had my new insurance co- Nationwide- provide them with proof of insurance. They then said they needed my prior insurance info- again my agent faxed them. The next reason was that i was not paying enough insurance.
It was when I tried to refiance, and found that Chase Manhattan Mortgage had listed me as being in bankrupcy that everything made sense. In 1996 I filed for bankruptcy and the amount owed to Chase was very similar to the 2881.00 that they were now trying to collect.I have only owned my home since 2000, and have only had a mortgage with Chase Manhattan since 2002. I was under the impression that they could not collect any debt that had been discharged in Bankruotcy Court. At 750.00 per year, I could not possibly owe them 2881.00 in insurance. They are now threatening foreclosure.

After over 2 weeks, and multiple requests for a payoff statement by mail and fax, we finally recieved the must unreadable statement I have ever seen. This long wait was unnessecary as we had the money at our finger tips, and simply needed to know how much to send and where to send it. All of this info was illegible, so the fax was completely useless. Upon trying to contact Chase Mortgage, they told me that they did not have the address to send payoff to, so I would have to contact the payoffs department, which will not take my calls. I do not understand how this is possible in todays society....

Living in Florida I had to deal with several hurricanes this year, and had to go without power and water. The longest time without essentials was 11 days during our span of 3 hurricanes. At that time I was working two jobs -- a veterinary nurse and a substitute teacher. The school was shut down to be used as a shelter and my other job's building was badly damaged. So I was out of wirk for almost 2 wks.
Well from all this I got behind and entered into a claim aggrement program provided by government. The government program allows you to move a determined amount of payments to the rear of your loan, and then you are responsible for any ining balance.(After applying for this program it took them 6 months to send 1egal document for me to sigh and take to bank to get notirized and appropriate signatures) Upon receving my first set of legal documents, I found a mathmatical error of $400.00.
I called and they said they would have another corrected copy sent out. The second document arrived with the math corrected but the due date for payment was the day prior to me receiving the packet. I called once again and explained I was not comfortable signing a legal document that was incorrect. I was informed that there was nothing they could do and where I had to sign was only the coversheet and actually not a part of the legal document.
So in order to save my house I had to take the paperwork to the back for all appropriate signitures and get a cashiers check for 3,831.42 for my portion and get all appropriate signitures. That was in April-2005. I enclosed a letter requesting a phone call for verbal conformation of documents arrival and if everythingwas properly signed. I never received a phone call.
I had not received a statment on my account for over 6 months, so I was waiting for my next statement showing I was all current. I never received a statement until
after getting a phone call from them telling me they had made a mistake and my portion of payment should have been more. I then received a statementwith an outrageous amount due with all late fees and a monthly 17.00 fee for checking to see if I occupy residence.
Also the 3,831.42 was not applied to my account and was just being held, and to this day they still have my money and they put me in foreclosure, sayingthat the program deadline had passed.

My father recently refinanced a Mortgage with Chase. He's being paying the bills on time. However, there computers take more than a week to process payments. As soon as the payments show up as late in the system, we start to receive constant harrassing phone calls to our home. As soon as we pick up the phone to say hello, we are put on hold for an average of 3-4 minutes asking to wait to speak to someone. When we explain that we've already payed and ask why we keep getting the calls, they insist that we provide proof via fax. However, if they call during a weekend, the fax won't be received until Monday.
When we ask to speak to a manager about why the payments are constantly not recorded in their system, they refuse to provide us with a manager. When we ask for a number to call about this, the number we dial does not allow us to speak with anyone. This is a very poor business practice and I would classify it as harrassment. Keep in mind that my father has actually PAID his bill on time and we're still dealing with this!

My mortgage company recently sold my mortgage to Chase. In November, my mortgage company told me to pay them, then Chase started demanding payment. I finally resolved the issue the last week of November and made a payment to Chase. At first they refused to accept the payment unless I also made my upcoming December payment as well. I refused and after about 25 telephone calls in 6 days they allowed me to just make the November payment. I then told them I get paid the 5th of every month and would make my mortgage payment then - as I had done for five years.
Even though my December payment would not be considered late until the 17th, I began receiving harassing calls on the 1st of December for payment. They insisted my account was in collections for the December payment, even though it was the first of the month. I paid the mortgage on the 6th via telephone for a $12 fee, and now even though its still December I have received 3 calls asking if I would like to make my january payment. Surely, as I was never late and asked them not to call anymore; and they proceeded to call 4-5 times per day for invalid reason this constitutes some type of harassment? This is the same company that raised my credit card rate to 29% for being a single day late, and would not change it back after six years of early payments with no carried balance.

I was consolidating house loan through another provider. Chase never cashed the loan check. They never let me know. I talked to them for two weeks about clearing up a duplicate account they sent to the Credit Report on me and they told me on the second week that I was late on a payment. Late? I told them I was paying on a full mortgage with someone else. It took another week to clear it up. Since then, I have not been able to consolidate my credit card and car loan debt because they cannot fax me a simple letter telling us they accidently duplicated the account to the credit bureau. I called them on October 12 - I received a letter today 12/01/05. Wrong letter.

We were suppose to close on refinancing our home loan. Chase Home Finance refused to fax a payoff letter, stating it takes 5-7 days by mail. The payoff was requested 2 weeks prior to the closing date, but we never received the payoff letter. We were unable to close on 11/22 due to Chase Home Finance refusal to fax a simple payoff letter. We feel that they are holding their customers loans to keep them from refinancing with other mortgage companies. Peaople are unable to refinance with other mortage companies without a payoff letter from Chase.

Chase mortgage loan statements include 2 coupons for monthly payment. The coupon that is at the bottom and the first one to remove with the bill is a discounted ($5.00) for an option of their accelerated payment program. The way it is set up, and without carefully scrutinizing the statement part it is easy to use the discounted coupon for payment and be $5 short on the monthly mortgage.
This trickery finally caught up with me. They received my payment on time but having used the wrong coupon it was $5 short. I received a call days before the end of the month, when it was going to collections, and they notified me that I needed to pay $35 to avoid going to collections (the $5 plus a 600%, $30 late fee). The extra double whammi was I was notified so late that to avoid going to collections I have to telephone pay the bill outstanding, but can only do it in full mortgage amount increments so, not only to they sock me with the $30 late fee, they get my full mortgage payment for next month in advance too! This all seems an intentional method of deception, and makes me wonder how many people fall prey to the same trickery?
