Though I have complied with all paperwork needed for my business checking account, I found that my account was restricted erroneously. I have not been able to access my funds since April 29th and the bank is having issues with fixing the error. I don't know when I can retrieve my funds and it is extremely uncomfortable to know that I cannot access my hard earned money because Chase has a communication lapse in their system. This is unacceptable.

We were depositing one dollar bills on the ATM machine when it got stuck (didn’t work anymore) and didn’t give as received from the deposit, so owe mistake was not to have counted the money before putting the dollar bills in the machine, the ATM gave us a paper with a number to call but nobody answered, we went in to the bank and told them about it and we got a credit for 100 dollars until the money could be count it in the ATM but it after 2 months it never happened. So Chase kept around 50 dollars from that transaction so I will never deposit money in those machines.

WASTE Bank is what I am renaming this bank. 1. Luana ** didn't pay enough attention to my business when I put a sample transaction right in front of her eyes. This resulted in her initially telling me that I could NOT open a business checking account. 2. Ms. ** advised me to phone 800# 2 days after opening account to have initial deposit made available. After more than 30 minutes on phone, "specialist" told me he didn't know how to verify a check from U.S. Bank. 3. Chase has $300 bonus offers all over internet for opening a business checking account. When I asked Ms. ** why I am not getting this bonus, NO RESPONSE FROM LUANA **. BOTTOM LINE: If I ran my business like Chase, I'd be out of business.

I have been with Chase about the past year and a half and for the most part I have been very happy banking with them. I have been on FMLA since December 2020 due to a car accident. I have not been earning any income and unfortunately my account was over drafted $1991.00 (I know that's a lot) as of 03/15/2021. I knew I was going to receive the stimulus payment and had planned accordingly that the stimulus would cover the overdraft and I would have some funds left over. I received the stimulus on 03/17/2021 and when checking my account I had a little over $800 left. On 03/21/2021 I logged back into my account and noticed that my account jumped up to over $2500??. Now I probably should have called Chase right away to see why my account increased, but I was behind on my bills and needed to play catch up and I am still raising a child at home.
I then received a letter on 03/25/2021 stating that Chase had given their customers a temp credit for those who received a stimulus payment and they would debit my account for the temp credit on 04/16/2021 which would overdraft my account AGAIN, which is what I am trying to avoid. I proceeded to go into my home branch and speak with a manager and stating that I did not give permission for them to credit my account and that they were basically making me pay them twice, and all the manager had to say was that "we wanted our customers to have access to their full stimulus payment". What??
I proceeded to email Jamie Dimon who is the President of JP Morgan Chase Bank, who proceeded to have one of his executive team members reach out to me, named JoAnn. I spoke with JoAnn today and the call did not go well. I ended the call prematurely as JoAnn was not listening to why I had voiced my concern and emailed the President and bring to light that I was not given the option to choose or not to choose to receive this temp credit and that I should not pay the bank twice. Her response was for me to not use those funds. What??? We are still in a pandemic and I was in injured in an accident and not making any income, how does one NOT use it?? I would seriously consider using another bank that does not do this to their customers.

I have a 6 year car loan with Chase Bank. I have paid 4 years of on time payments - no late payment. I was laid off my job, through no fault of my own. My car payment is $535 and I knew it would eat up my savings pretty quickly. I decided to see if Chase would decrease my payment temporarily or maybe let me miss a payment without effecting my credit rating. I would understand if the loan added on the difference at the end. I was not asking them to decrease the amount owed, just how much I pay right now. I was being proactive to make sure all my bills are paid.
I was told that my “circumstances” don’t qualify. They didn’t have to do much, anything would have helped. They did NOTHING. They would prefer someone to default on their loan and ruin their life and credit in the process. Shame on you Chase! When I am employed again and am I able to refinance my car loan, I will take my business away from Chase and make sure I tell friends of my experience.

Recently I became homeless and had to move back into my parents' house. During this time I attempted to open a Chase bank account online. At this time I also took a substantial withdrawal from my 401k account to look for a new place to stay as I had to leave everything behind so I am starting over. A day after opening the account I received a Welcome email from Chase bank stating "be sure to fund your account within 14 days or the account will be closed." With that I set up direct deposit with my job and the day after went to deposit the 401k withdrawal.
I was provided 100$ available and the rest was on hold until the check clears which is normal. A day later I wake up to log into my account and find I need to call the 1888 number because there is a hold on the account. After being hung up on 5 times and being yelled at, I'm finally told I need to take my driver's license and a credit card or ssa card to the branch as my Social Security number needed to be verified. When I get back to the branch that took my check I was placed in the lobby until someone was available 15 mins later. Before I sit down in the office she says "Remember I'm just the messenger." As if I needed this disclaimer and if I didn't understand this there was going to be some repercussions.
She contacts the same number i did and waited on hold... like I did for around 15 mins. She was then told I needed to provide a utility bill as the address needed to be verified. The branch person told them She is looking at my driver's license and she has a credit card of mine she is looking at with my name and I'm sitting across from her in her office.... This still was not good enough. I was then given the option of not opening the account and it will close in 10 days then my check would be expressed mailed to me.
Today I call and was told no the check will not be mailed back to me until I show proof I live at my mother's home and it has to be in the form of a utility bill. I do not pay my mother's bills as this is temporary.... Otherwise this bank is going to keep my 7,600 dollars for themselves. I then called the institution that issued the check and was advised they could not re-issue because Chase Bank has already cleared the check.... So basically they have my money and won't give it back. My mother had to contact her leasing company for her car and ask they email her a copy of her statement that also has my name on it because I co-signed. Once I receive this I then either need to fax or take it to a branch... and then wait another 7-10 days for the check to be sent.... If I can help any person especially those of color DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH CHASE BANK!!!! They steal.

I had this Chase Visa credit card for about 20 years. I paid every month and have a good credit rating. Last month my mailed check did not arrive before the due date and Chase instantly froze my account, hit me with all the late fees, and rejected charges. Since this card was used for automatic online charges it forced me to quickly replace the card with another. This is not how you treat a loyal customer of 20 years. In my opinion this is a greedy company that only cares about maximizing profit at any cost and has no loyalty to customers, even if they are long time customers. I would avoid this company. I cancelled my account with them and replaced the card with one from my local bank. I recommend everyone do the same.

I opened a account online to get a Disney debit card, nothing was said I would have to go to a physical location. I soon called when I couldn't log in and they told me they suspected fraud and that unless I could go to a physical branch, 2.5 hours away one way, my account would be closed. They already took 300 dollars to put in the account, which at time I was told would be mailed to me. A month or so later I am now being told they suspected more fraud so to get MY money back I would have to spend 5 hours to go to a physical branch for them to be able to mail me a check. They basically stole 300 from me and act as if it's my fault because they don't have details online.

Chase bank head office wants me to file dispute with branch which is 350 miles from home. Let me start off with, I've NEVER left a negative review ANYWHERE. I've been with for over 10 years, it's the only bank I've ever worked with for that matter; from personal debit/credit cards to car loans. Also worth mentioning I've never called Chase and asked them for ANYTHING, outside of replacing a lost card. Now I understand a Law was passed with the last stimulus check that forced banks to give an "overdraft assistance" to those negative accounts when the check was deposit. I also understand that "assistance" needed to be paid back.
Long story short, my account was left negative because chase decided to take their money back when I didn't have sufficient funds. Tried calling "customer care" and asking if they can just give me 3 DAYS to pay it. That's all I needed. 3 DAYS, a check will be direct deposited into my account LIKE IT DOES EVERY WEEK 3 DAYS from the day the charge was posted. But no. They wouldn't work with me and left me negative for the weekend. Claimed "There's nothing we can do. It's systemic". Bet if it was a big corporate account they would help.. We aren't talking thousands, we are talking double figures.. Tenure means nothing to them. Apparently Banking The last decade with them means nothing. Will be canceling my account, literally pointless having a bank that can't help me with something so small during a pandemic.

I went into Chase Bank on a Sunday when the bank was closed to use ATM. I used a debit card from a different bank to withdraw $500.00. The ATM withdrew $500.00 plus a $3.00 fee. No money came out. The receipt showed they withdrew the $503.00 from my account. The receipt said WE AREN'T able to give cash right now. I went into the branch the next day with receipt expecting to get the money. Chase said nothing they could do and dispute it with the bank the card was with EVEN THOUGH THEY TOOK OUT THE $503. The other bank took my info and I filed a dispute and confirmed the money was taken out of my account. The bank that the card is with told me IT COULD TAKE UP TO 45 DAYS TO GET CREDIT!!!!

I created a new checking account with Chase over a month ago, and I never received the $200 bonus advertised on their website. I called customer service, and they asked me what coupon code I had applied. I told them I followed the directions on the Chase website where it says: $200 Checking coupon code applied when you click "Open an account". They told me a team would research it, that I would receive the $200, and that I would hear back in 2-3 business days. 3 days later still no response and no money. I called again to find out they had never assigned the ticket to someone. They said to give it another 48 hours but there was no guarantee. To me this is an indicator of poor customer service, and I will not continue to do business with Chase. The $200 seems like a scam to get people in the door. I will be closing my account and switching to another bank.

I recently opened a Chase bank account for the launch of my new online business. About a month after I opened the account, I received a letter in the mail indicating that my account would be closed on April 11th. There was no reason indicated in the letter as to why they were closing my account. Granted, it states in the terms and conditions that you or they can close your account without reason at any time, but I've been a customer of chase since they were "GREAT WESTERN BANK." I've held my account open with each one of the mergers or acquisitions leading up to Chase. I have two personal accounts opened with them and they are in good standing. My business account has never over drafted and is also in good standings with an adequate balance.
My online company involves the sale of CBD products. When I did the research on which banks allow accounts for CBD sales, Chase was the first one that popped up. Given the long lasting relationship I've had with them, I figured it was the best bet for my company. So if that is the case, and there is obviously no risk involved, why would they just close my account for no reason. This has me seriously rethinking my personal relationship with Chase bank. They have absolutely failed me for being a good customer for so many years.

Hello, I had some issues with the government and the issues don’t have any relationship with money, but they trying to force me to do things I am not willing to do. So, the FB and Police, surely forced the bank to issue a fee of $600 negative to my account, when I called for that because the maximum over draft fee protection can go up to $100 max, but I was surprised when I saw -$600. On my account. I have received emails remind me to pay these amounts. When I called Chase and asked them about that they always closed the phone or make me wait for two hours.
Finally when I got someone, the amount decreased from -600 to -300 with no reasons and they didn’t give me any type of explanations, also, I cannot see my account because it is locked. I have my stimulus check. I cannot use it, I don’t have unemployment and also no any other sources of help and chase locked my account without any legal documentation. This is a dirty way to put pressure on you and Chase are assisting in that. Thus, if you have an issue with the FB even if the problem is not related to money, they try to use these way to lock you or feel you are in need for them. Re-evaluate your issue and you will see that is true because I have emails.

I am very disgusted and disappointed by Chase Bank. My husband has been unemployed due to the pandemic and he has been receiving unemployment benefits to my accounts (his wife). Right when we receive our stimulus check Chase closes our account because they said it’s under review. Once I call and ask what was wrong they said that our account is under investor Fraud because I’ve been receiving my husband's unemployment under my bank account because he doesn’t have one. We explained and provided proof of everything and they still said they didn’t want us to have as a customer. I am very upset because one we weren’t aware of this being a problem, two they were very disrespectful and not just that they’ve kept our money. Over $3,000. It’s money we have been struggling to have. I have been loyal customer for them to have treated me the way they did. And not just that they haven’t even sent our check with the money. l they owe us.

As a payroll manager I am aware when people's checks are not deposited timely. The interesting thing here is the bank it ever happens with - and happens routinely - is Chase. The rest of my department use Wells Fargo and BOA - their payments are never delayed. Today is the day the stimulus was supposed to be deposited, not only did I not get the stimulus, as usual, I did not get my paycheck either. In short, I believe they delay ACH payments in order to use money that belongs to its customers for 2 or 3 extra days for free. The next time another major bank gives me a cash offer to switch to them, I'm taking it.

This company is the lowest form of life there is. I had excellent credit with them, then I had an unfortunate health issue that left me disabled with just enough money to barely live on. I currently am living in the streets and I have asked them to remove their negative entry on the credit bureau or at least zero out the balance. It comes off the report next year and they have already did a write/charge off. They claim they can't remove anything. This is NOT true according to legal counsel. They are bound by the law to report anything to a credit bureau and they can remove anything at any time, there is NO law. They claim they cannot remove anything and they could care less about someone that had an excellent track record with them until my disability. Stay away from them for anything, as they are the biggest crooks ever.

I had a Chase Bank checking account and it received legitimate USA originating UI (unemployment insurance) benefits for only a few weeks (during spring 2020) only to be abruptly "blocked"/"closed"/"restricted" by Chase Bank and all account funds withheld. All this done without any explanation, despite my multiple communication attempts that also resulted in them refusing to confirm to me as to by when they will release/return back to me my account funds. I not only communicated with them trying to seek those account funds back from them, but also I communicated back and forth with about close to 2-4 dozen different USA based entities of all kinds (e.g. US and State Government based entities, news media companies, Better Business Bureau, etc.).
Roughly about a little more than 5 months AFTER the blocking, they finally couriered over the final check to me. Again this time as well, no explanation as to why that much delay, what finally made them release the money, etc, DESPITE all my communication attempts with them on such matters. HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: During my struggle with these issues and my online search attempts, I could NOT find ANY online resource that even remotely made an attempt to present a comprehensive list of EXACTLY what kinds of FREE recourse options such a customer can utilize. Lots of websites with lots of people complaining about similar issues. BUT no discussion about issue RESOLUTION techniques. Hence I have to put together the following blog to address just that: **.
IN SUMMARY, THE MOST IMPORTANT RESOLUTION SUGGESTIONS ARE:(Note: please visit the blog for more details.)1. Apply with US consumer reporting agencies to get a free annual copy of your US deposit account history.
2. Via their website (**), to the US Treasury Department OFAC office (Office of Foreign Assets Control), submit an application for a license authorization to "Release Blocked Funds".
3. Submit a tip to the US FBI (via their website) letting them know that you believe that the bank is simply just defrauding you out of your money by wrongfully and unjustifiably blocking/withholding your account funds.

I am a victim of an online dating scam and an unauthorized payment scam. Since December 31, 2020, my Chase account has been frozen due to the detection of funds deposited in my account that was supposed to be directed to someone else. Due to the scam, my account was used for unauthorized transactions on the following dates, which Chase failed to notify me of this suspicious activity for 5-6 months.
Without sending any notification email or phone call, Chase froze my account and funds which caused significant stress and suffering for me to get by. I called and spoke to many different people at Chase, each of them giving me a different story about what actions Chase will take to assist me, to include sending me a check with my money so that I could open a new account and get by. After speaking to many representatives that my account had been “frozen” on December 31, 2020, Chase continued to accept the funds which are the only source of income that I have.
I did not authorize any transactions on or after this date, and I did not authorize anyone else to use my account in any way. I was left completely unaware of these deposits because I was told that Chase would supposedly not accept it pursuant to the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, and FDIC implementing Regulation E, 15 U.S.C. § 1693 et seq., 12 C.F.R. § 205, of the unauthorized transactions on my account. See 12 C.F.R. §§ 205.6, 205.11. I am requesting that Chase investigate these unauthorized transactions involving my account to include Chase accepting my money while my account was “frozen” and return these funds to me that was not supposed to be accepted by Chase. Even after many trying phone calls to Chase and all the immense strain this has put on my ability to get by, I have not received any help or assistance from Chase. Not a single phone call, email, or letter was received by me that showed that Chase would help or care.

The worst website platform for credit cards and bank account equally. There is no place to see an ongoing balance, how is that even possible?! Not on statements, not on the website. And for someone who makes hundreds of transactions each billing cycle, figuring out what the balance was at the time of each transaction or each payment is an impossible task. You would think you should be able to see a breakdown under account activities that looks something like this - 1/1/21 Amazon.com $100.00; 1/1/21 current balance $1,100.00. All of my other banks and credit cards have this option available, Chase decided they want to make your bookkeeping life a misery. I even called customer service to see if there's something I'm missing, I was told that the only way to do that is MANUALLY - as in sit there with a calculator and add and subtract your transactions. I opened a Checking Account with my local Chase Bank Branch. I presented a certified bank check from another institution. My checking account was opened. The Representative told me I would receive my bank card in the mail within 3 Business days. After 7 business days I did not receive my card. I called the 800 number service line and was told that my account was closed and that Chase no longer wish to do business with me. I asked why my account was closed and they told me my account was transferred to the Fraud department and a check will be sent to my home. I went to the local branch to inquire what happened. The representative said Chase no longer want to do business with me and she did not have an explanation. She said account was sent to the special handling department. l told her I have financial obligations and I needed my money.
After 3 weeks I still did not receive my check in the mail. I call again and the Chase Representative said they will mail the check out and provided a UPS tracking number. I searched UPS tracking and the number but the number was invalid. I had a similar experience like this with Chase 30 years ago when I started my first job and tried to open a checking account. My conclusion is that chase racially profiled me and discriminated against me because of my race which is Hispanic and because of the color of my skin which is **. After they copied my Driver's license and entered it into their system database, my account was closed and that was the nail in the coffin. I believe Chase need to do business with minorities and stop the racial profiling.

I purchased plane tickets for a wedding in Ireland that was to take place in April of 2020. Due to COVID, all air travel was banned at that time by the United and by European Countries. I filed a dispute on my Chase credit card and they refunded the amount. However, it is now February of 2021 and they have sent me a 1099-C to file with my taxes. I have to pay income tax on this debt that they are claiming that they "discharged." This was not discharged debt. This was not debt that I walked away from like a credit card that I just abandoned. This was a legitimate dispute. And Chase collected the funds from Aer Lingus, yet are still fraudulently claiming this is discharged debt and have sent me this 1099-C, which I will have to claim as income and pay taxes on.
This is incredibly fraudulent on their part and really just the most ridiculous thing. I can't even continue to try to wrap my head around it due to its level of ridiculousness. Needless to say, I am going to call the IRS and report this as fraudulent and attempt to file a lawsuit, if possible. Chase is double-dipping by collecting funds from the airline vendor and then turning around and sending me a 1099 for "discharged debt." Typical big bank move.

I understand putting holds on money available from deposited checks for a reasonable length of time, but they arbitrarily put holds on money even after they've been paid by the paying bank. When they told me that their decisions on how long to put holds on money was their own decision and had no relation to the paying bank or whether they actually received the money yet I couldn't believe my ears. Their policy is seriously that even after they've been paid by a paying bank they will still keep a hold on money active just because they feel like it. It's insane. When the pandemic hit, Chase in Flagstaff Arizona closed one branch, severely restricted another to just drive in and massively reduced the staff at the main branch downtown. Other banks in town did not. Truth is, however, that something was going wrong with them in Flagstaff long before this. They were importing tellers from other cities. When I asked why the staff shortage I was told that no one wanted to work there. At the time I did not believe that. Now I am not so sure.
To make matter worse the monthly interest payment on our CD went from approximately $200 a month to $7. I have been trying for weeks to find out what in the heck is going on. If you e-mail them you just get a boilerplate answer. If you call you get nowhere. If you go to the downtown branch, good luck. To say that they were short staffed would be AN UNDERSTATEMENT! Trying to take to the downtown office manager is pointless. She is always on the phone.
I have no idea what in the heck is going on here but we have had to set up new accounts at the local Bank of America branch which, oddly enough, is having none of these problems. Whatever their problem are they showed up before the virus but has gotten MUCH WORSE since. Also if you have a problem, like not getting the interest on your CDs, you are just out of luck. All you get is boiler plate. Clearly no one cares. Not at the local branches. Not from any web site I can find. Not if you call them. They just have abandoned Flagstaff. Nobody give a dam*. I don’t typically make it a habit to write out reviews, but Chase? Oh boy. I opened a simple checking account with them. Everything seemed fine, until I got a call that they actually forgot to have me sign two documents. No big deal, I thought. It was a simple mistake, it happens. They also informed me that if I didn’t turn in my documents, my account would be put on hold and eventually closed. Surely enough, my account was restricted from use after a week. Unfortunately, I had to work and my hours were in conflict with Chase’s hours, and I was only able to come in on a day off. I let the banker know and an appointment was made, but the day I come in, 11:00 am, the branch is closed temporarily and the person that opened the account with me has retired.
So, I went to another location to turn in my documents, and it was still a week and half before the deadline. They scanned my documents, informed me that the hold over my account should dissipate in one or two business days. Never happened. After two business days, my card still kept getting declined and I couldn’t withdraw any money. I talked to them again, and they told me it was possible that my documents were incorrectly signed. Even though the banker went through my documents and didn’t mention anything was wrong.
Two days later, I go to another Chase, and they were so understaffed that it was unbelievable. A long line formed, and although I had managed to come in at an earlier time to get an appointment the same day and was informed I’d have to wait outside and wait to be called from my cell within the next thirty minutes to an hour, I never got their call back. And so, another trip to a different Chase location on the same day and I finally get an answer... They had closed my account the previous day....and no one informed me! I was shocked that it still happened despite turning in the documents, and I still had a couple of days before the deadline. Even the banker seemed confused as they had it on record. This was so frustrating, never again shall I go to them to deal with my finances.

I pointed out to Chase that the Tracking information was clearly fraudulent because it showed the item had shipped out 3 days prior to the purchase date. Further, it didn't have my address (only my city) and showed it was signed for in an office building by someone I never heard or and the package weight was listed at 18 lbs. even though the item purchased was a sports card weight ~ 5 oz.
I was told that all I needed to do was put that in writing and provide any supporting documentation that I had and FAX to their Appeals Department. I did that the very next day and after another 2 weeks wait they came back and denied the claim again with no reason stating why. I contacted Customer Service on the phone and was told that even though the evidence I provided was compelling and convincing it was too late for them to now reverse the charge and I was out of luck. Being quite upset I asked for a Supervisor who offered me $100 (basically to go away). I told her that was not satisfactory and asked for a higher level supervisor but was told they do not take calls. I am deeply disappointed in the unsatisfactory level of service from Chase Bank in a time of need for me and my family. I have been a Chase Bank customer for roughly 10 years and recently needed to open a probate account for a deceased family member in which I have been named executor of the estate. The barriers presented by Chase Bank that prevented opening the needed account has been frustrating, time-consuming, and emotionally draining. The process needs further review for improvements.
All the legal paperwork was presented to the Branch to begin the process of opening a probate account, however, their "document review" area pushed back and stated more information was required. They stated the Letters of Office was provided by the court system in another state and had no jurisdiction in my state of residence, and therefore they could not open the account and required more detail information from my attorney. Which cost additional money from me to obtain.
The Letters of Office is a legal document that gives the authorization to transact on behalf of a deceased family member regardless of the state where I decide to transact business. My attorney for the probate also questioned the reason behind this barrier Chase Bank has presented. I am disappointed in Chase Bank for the following "hoops" I have had to endure during this process:
- Requiring further documentation from my attorney after letters of office and death certificate had been provided to chase.
- Loss of personal time. I spent over 1.5 hours on the phone with Chase Bank representatives at 800-935-9935 being transferred around because none of the representatives knew or could advise about the process of opening a probate account. The line disconnected with 1 rep while I was on hold, another rep advised that I need to call Estate Services 866-926-6909 for the probate account process, and another rep advised that I need to call the DCP group at 866-893-0745. No one answers when calling the 0745 number, an automated system advises to send documents and contact information to Consumer.Desposit.Efax@Chase.com. I sent the email as instructed and a representative called me back 24 hours later and stated they were not the department for this process. None of the numbers the customer service reps provided can assist with this process.
- More Loss of Personal Time. I spent 15 mins on the phone with a manager at another Chase Bank in the state where the letters of office was issued. She also questioned the practice stating the letters of office should be enough to move forward with opening a probate account and they should be able to do this at the local office in my state of residence.
Eventually, I contacted another local bank and presented the same information provided to Chase and within a couple of hours, they stated the letters of office is sufficient and they can move forward with opening the account. They stated the issuing county/state is irrelevant to the process for opening this type of account with them. She stated she is unsure about Chase Bank's restrictions for opening a probate account. The hoops and inefficient practices Chase Bank put me through is unforgivable. Especially during a sensitive time such as the loss of a family member. The events of this process I endured need higher-level review.

You expect this kind of treatment from Wells Fargo, but not a bank like Chase. Their service has really gone to the dogs. This experience has cost them my business.

Telephoned and was told my account was closed and Chase did not want me as a client and all my accounts would be closed. I asked why this would be and was told..."We don't have to provide a reason...Chase does not want your business." Needless to say I was shocked but not surprised since increasingly their service quality has significantly deteriorated....They constantly send me messages about increasing my credit line along with special offers for "valued clients" all obviously a joke.

I've been Chase customer for last 20+ years when it was "First Chicago" and then "Bank One" (acquired by Chase). My average checking account with them is in higher 5 digits all along. Yesterday, I tried to wire $12000 funds to another Chase account (another person with 10+ years having that account too), they put that on pending state. There was absolutely no attempt to call me or received no emails until 7 pm stating "Dear Customer: We have not sent your wire transfer referenced above because of a delay in processing. We will continue processing your request and contact you if we need more information. If you have questions, please call us at 1-800-935-9935 for personal accounts or 1-800-242-7338 for business accounts."
So, I called them up at 18009359935, the customer care said he sees a fraud alert on that wire hence it did not go through. The department is closed and only works during 8-5pm. I asked to speak to supervisor - same answer. I had sent out "secure message" to them making sure this goes thru as it was critical transfer. I had similar experience 4 months ago when they delayed (cancelled too once) my wire transfer of $20,000. Due to that I had to pay $500 penalty + opportunity loss cost. At that time too, I had specifically sent out a "secure message" via portal to let it go thru immediately the instructions were placed. While talking to them for over 90 minutes I could see they care nothing for a loyal customer. I took this opportunity to move my accounts elsewhere (there are plenty good options available). STAY AWAY from CHASE.

I was told that we would have to wait up to 2 business days. I called back again, and I was told we have to wait 10 business days... My family can't wait that long. We have bills, we have rent, we need food. 10 days is ridiculous!
I asked to speak to a manager. After waiting in hold for an hour the manager, coldly, told me there was nothing she could do for us, and we have to wait. I asked to speak to someone higher. In my 6 years of owning a business, these guys without a doubt take the cake for worst imaginable service I didn't even think was possible. I was referred to this company by a friend, who has also since left due to poor service. After the government shutdown due to the covid19 response, I was legally only allowed to do takeout. My terminals shut down weekly and get replaced at least bi monthly due to whatever "programming error" excuse they can come up with for that month.
My last call and definitely my last interaction I will have with this company (unless I take them to court) I was outright refused to speak with a manager or someone who has English listed as their first language. It really sucks that I am not bilingual or trilingual but the fact is, I'm not. After 10 minutes of this phone call (Which I recorded on my cell) I hung up in a raging level of frustration. This company made me realize quite clearly how someone of lesser sanity than myself could be seen on TV for for showing up at the head office of chase and doing something drastic. I now totally get how some people can get pushed to that point. We will never blame the rich corporations for this though and certainly not even richer banks with ties deep inside the government itself. Nah, much easier to blame the victims.
Now it looks like I have no choice but to take them to small claims for all the subsequent months they kept billing me. Especially during these covid times. I have a very well documented record of my repeated requests to cancel the service. I honestly can't say enough bad things about this company and if you read reviews like this and still use Chase services, it would be fair to say you deserve to get scammed by this corrupt bank as well. No matter your choice, good luck. Sincerely,

Upon multiple recommendations I set up a Chase Bank account online. Everything proceeded smoothly and I had an account ready in a day. However, multiple problems occurred after this. First my account was locked over possible fraud because I tried to transfer money from my previous bank over via an external account transfer. I called Chase's support line and after approximately 2 hours holding I was told I needed to go into a local Chase branch with two forms of ID to unlock my account.
Several days later I was able to do so, but now they told me they cannot unlock my account and had to call it in themselves. By this point both my checking and savings accounts had been deleted because my account was suspected of fraud. The branch representative said I then had to wait until their fraud department called me and verified who I was. So I waited several hours for this. Once that was done, I could return to the branch several days later to reopen a checking/savings account and set up a credit card with automatic payment.
For a month things proceeded smoothly and no issues arose. However, I then received an email and a call saying that my credit card was overdue even though I had personally ensured that automatic payments were set up the day before my balance was due. Upon examining my account online I found that automatic payments had been disabled and I now had to pay a late fee associated with the card and said card was deactivated until I paid the statement balance. I tried to make a payment for that day, but an error occurred when I did so. I could only make a payment at a later date even with more possible late fees pending.
Summary: Do not create a Chase account online, do it in person. Do not use Chase phone support services, go to a local branch. Do not rely on automatic payments for a credit card, pay the balance yourself. All the Chase representatives I met were very helpful and kind, even though Chase's digital services were glitchy.

I went back into my account and saw that my account has been locked out. I simply called their security department and was told it was closed out due to bank identity and that I would have to go into a branch and show 2 forms of IDs. Chase Bank has never sent me anything in writing nor in a secure message indicating that they are requiring to see such form of identification from me. I saw an account specialist where they went ahead and had to reopen up all of my accounts. This has caused my bills to be late.
So now we're on 9/30/2020, I updated my payroll with my company via ADP web portal and I see my direct deposit going into a closed account. According to Chase I will have to wait 2 days now for this money to be rejected and my employer to be notified to resubmit my monies back to me. Chase looked at my accounts and didn't see anything coming in. That's ironic when I have a printed copy of my payroll going into a closed account. Again Chase has caused me another headache of their screw ups and this close to either closing out all accounts with them or seeking an attorney and filing a lawsuit due to their violations which they refuse to provide in writing. It is impossible to do any serious business when banking with Chase! We have had personal checking and saving with them since 2012 and if we were to do any serious business (like paying a contractor), we would be stuck and not able to get to our own funds. Our dilemma is that we moved from California to Alabama, where there are no Chase branches. In order to get to any substantial amounts of money from our checking account, we have to use Zelle to send funds from Chase to our local bank account. This should be an easy enough task to complete, right? Wrong!
We tried to send $2,000 from our Chase Zelle to our Regions Bank Zelle, each time it was rejected and our online account locked! Each time, we had to call the Chase hotline and wait HOURS for some agent located in India to put us through ridiculously rigorous security checks, only to go through the same thing over and over again. We are so fed up now, that we will drop Chase and just go with our local bank which has never given us one ounce of worries like Chase.

1. Delinquency or other derogatory relationship with our bank and2. Insufficient balance in deposit and investment accounts with us
I don't agree with the findings by Chase.
1. I have two Chase Credit Cards with 0 balance and never been late.2. I have my mortgage through Chase in which it earns bank interest and escrow monies and I have never been late.
3. Trans Union's Credit Score was 810.
4. My husband has an account with Chase with a balance of 50,000.
5. My Total Balance on my credit cards is $2,000.
6. I did have Chase Credit Cards in the past that I couldn't pay off (2008 down turn) and they ended up being charged off (Didn't the govt. step in and Chase charged off the balance and got their money). This has happened to a lot of people. Will this be held against me forever.
Please reconsider the decision for accepting my application Reference # **.

I have a Chase Business Checking account. I recently added my accountant as a "read-only" user on my account to be able to do bookkeeping each month. As part of the user management process online it asked me if I wanted to add an approval process for any transfers on the account. I assumed it meant me approving before he could transfer anything just as a fail-safe but it meant in general any transfers, including any I initiated would need to be approved by another party. I called the customer service number provided on that same authorized user screen to immediately cancel when I realized and then customer service transferred me to digital banking.
This is where I'm currently stuck-- on hold, no music, no one checking in on me during the transfer process to say how long it will be, not even one of those automated options that say how long the wait will be would I rather have someone call me back. Simply waiting, 59 minutes now, to be able to transfer funds between my own accounts. What if this was urgent????
Not to mention the complete disrespect of my time and poor customer service. This bank has not provide such excellent service in the past where they have a big margin for error with me. For example, my personal checking is with Schwab who I've never been on hold for longer than 2 minutes with, and quick knowledgeable reps who are sharp and well trained enough that they don't have to transfer for every little thing. Chase consistently has delays and is frustrating when I even get to a person that they know what I'm talking about. Eg, the last time I called I was trying to make an international wire transfer and the bank was asking for Chase's wire dept phone number and bank address.
You would think these were simple questions, again I was put on hold, managers were asked, managers were in meetings and I had to wait for them to get out, etc etc. All for a phone number and address. Now I'm on hold 1 hour 4 minutes and counting just to uncheck a box. Ridiculous. I will be switching to private business banking. No one has time for this.

During Covid19 shelter in-place, I’ve sold one of my properties, and decided to open a new account with a bank that’s got a local branch. My old bank is 4 hours away. I’ve transferred/wired in a couple of deposits from my other bank, because how else you are suppose to do during this time... Anyway, Chase accepted the transfer money and then sent me a letter informing me that they will close my account and I’ll need to contact them ASAP... I did that and spend 15 minutes answering all kind of person info, and was abruptly told they have to close my account and I am to expect a check in mail with my balance in 5-7 days. I was shocked because I have near 800 credit score and great financial standings for the past 30 years... But I was really offended by Chase being so invasive and cryptic for unknown reason to close my accounts... So I was fine with their decision...
But after three weeks of not receiving my check, and not hear from Chase, I called their customer number, and they only have one number to call... In one day, I spent over two hours getting hung up the first time after 45 minutes wait, and then second time, I refused to hang up, was then transfer to their fraud department. After spent 10 minutes explaining myself over again, they told me that the only way I will get my money back is for me to go to my local branch, with two forms of ID’s... And the lady from the fraud department also told me that Chase will cut me a check ASAP that day. I asked her if she can make an appointment for me to make sure the info gets through the branch before I go, and that she need to set up an appointment so we don’t get caught up with another round of their bureaucracy, she lied and told me I won’t need an appointment and they will return my money that same day.
I went to the local branch, per her instruction, the following Monday at 9am. I was then told that Chase is having a lot of customer complaints about the same situation, and they will need to get on the phone to go through the whole process again. I had to leave town for my vacation that day, so they made copies of my ID and promised to contact me ASAP. Come Friday, I saw that they’ve pulled my credit report once again, and I still have not hear back from anyone from Chase, so at 3pm, I risked another person-to person contact and went to the local branch. After waited for another 30 minutes, a nice banker helped me through the same process again. After another two hours in the bank with the nice banker, we were both told that I’ll need to submit my other Bank records to verify who I am... and then they will release the cashier's check in 48 hours.
It happened that I had my apps and was able to supply what they are now asking.. The banker faxed the paperwork to the requested party at Chase, and we are told it’ll be 24-48 hours and then I’ll need to call in that one Chase number again. I ended up making appointment with the nice banker on Tuesday, for him to call in while I am there, to ensure no more run-around from Chase. As of today, they have closed my accounts and kept my money for over 31 days... Next Tuesday when I return, to meet with the banker, it will be 35 days and we still don’t know if they will return our money. Also need to mention that I’m also told that I can wait until next Tuesday for my money back in cashier's check, or I can open new account now so they can deposit back directly to the new account... The suggestion of a new bank account is so absurd and strange that even the banker who related their message to me, agreed that it was strange.
I have Chase credit cards for years, and now I will also cancel that card as well, Chase is a crooked banking. I don’t trust them with my money, they accept it from my other Bank without issues, but closed my accounts without probable cause, and kept my money for over a month after they closed the accounts, treated me like I’ve committed fraud, and after I went through all the proper channels and supplied everything they asked for, they still refused to return my money and tried to blackmail me to open a new account so they can further keep my money. I will also file a formal complaint with the Department of Banks and Trust.

So I opened a checking and a savings account with Chase on June 8th, 2020. I had been let go from my job and had taken the whole of my 403b retirement account with me - thousands of dollars. I deposited it into the savings. I deposited 2 other checks into new check account, equaling about 2k. This was a Thursday. On Sunday, I set up the app, password and all that wanting to see if checks had posted and all is good. Immediately it says my account is suspended. WTF? I wait till Monday morn and call branch/personal banker who set up my account. He looks into it and can not find out reason why, but says that yes indeed the account has been closed. Great, I go to bank to cash out - they give me the money for the 2k, but say they can’t cash the larger check yet, as they need to wait on verification. Ok seems reasonable, I wait. And wait. And wait.
Long story short, it’s been a month now, and they still have my retirement money. I have been into the bank 3 different times - only to be told 1) "The check's in the mail," 2) "There is nothing I can do to help you, it’s under review," or 3) "We are waiting on it to be paid by the issuing bank." I call the issuing distributor of funds and they tell me the check cleared on June 12th. They are totally lying to me! Repeatedly! There is no check in my mailbox. There is no problem with the check! There is no problem at all! WTF is going on here? Give me my money!! I have called countless times. They either drop the call or have no answers. They pass the buck, they lie!!!
On top of all of that, the reason they closed my account is still a mystery. I received the Experian report - there is nothing on it that justifies their decision. ALSO, they have literally sent me a paper letter, or an email everyday since this started, with various random messages. One day it’s, "Account closed due to you not providing the info we asked for”, the next it’s, "You have a 4:30pm conference call meeting, with so and so and so and so on the calendar”, and the date they say the meeting is on is YESTERDAY, and I have not been advised of any such meeting! The next day it’s, "Your account is not closed, it’s under review”. Then it’s "We have decided t keep this account open on a probationary status.” Then, “When you receive your Debit card, promptly destroy it, as your account is closed.”
This is obviously ridiculous and I am well past want of banking with them even if they offered me a huge incentive. They have no substantial reason for treating me this way - or anyone for that matter. I am powerless as no one seems to be able to help me get my hard-earned money back, and when I call the banks VP, 3 or 4 times now - emails too, no response. I am livid. My car payment was late, my rent was paid due to help from my parents, and I’m starting to think this is real. They have stolen my money!
Filed a formal complaint with the FDIC last week, then someone from Chase called Friday from the “complaint dept” and I missed the call. When I returned call, 20 min later - I left a message. No response. I called again Today - Monday. No one there again. Wow. I am truly speechless. I have cried more than once. I have spent hours on phone, in lines at bank, at desks talking to people who finish the conversation with - “I assure you, the check is in the mail. 10 business days at most”. Another 10 have gone by.
What do I do!? I’m unsure of what to do anymore. I’m so stressed out about it, I just can’t believe this. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What is my recourse? I feel like they owe me not only my retirement money - which is not that much - but it’s what I’ve saved the last 2 years - close to 10k, but damages for putting me out, m late car payment fee, the embarrassment and stress of having to borrow money because of them. Luckily I have options. But if I didn’t, what would of happened then? Get evicted? Lose my car? How can they not be held accountable for the ** they are dragging me through? I am unemployed. I am waiting on benefits like a lot of people. Yes the Covid virus has slowed down the machine. But come on, that excuse is getting old. Give me my money ya old **! I hate that I’m so powerless. Thanks for listening. Thanks for listening.

As soon as I told him I had problem with Zelle, instead of asking what the problem was, he just transfer me AGAIN... I waited for over an hour only to find out that he had transferred me fraud department. Of course they can't help me there, so now I am being transferred again... Another 30 minutes in and I am still waiting. I have been a loyal Chase customer for almost 20 years because of their known good customer services. Last year, I canceled all my credit cards with Chase because of their rude representative, this time I think I will be closing both my checking and savings account and leave for good.

Chase you invest trade between 9:30am to 4:00pm but still proceeded to sell my stock after I cancelled a sell order prior to trading hour. I noticed my stock gone and a large amount of funds in my account which was obviously an error so I called to have this rectified. They adjusted the amount of money but left my stock sold although I specifically told them I didn't want to sell my stock.
I lost over $6000 and chase representatives refused to do anything for me. They recognized the stocks shouldn't have sold and every rep I spoke to said that shouldn't happen but I'm now left in limbo waiting for the executive branch to contact me over this matter. A cancelled sell is just that, so I don't understand the stretching out of this incident when clearly something went wrong on their end. Don't invest with chase. The website is tedious and obviously faulty. Save yourself the aggro of having to call and complain and use a site that is reliable.

Somehow my old checking account number still remained in the IDES site so my benefits went to this closed account, Chase charges off a old balance of $10 and then send the check balance to a old address. I had to get a stop payment form notarized, return it to the bank and the check will be reissued. I decided to follow up just to verify so I go into the bank and now being told the check is on an 30 day hold? Why? No one in the last 2 day can explain this to me all the way to the executive corporate office. Putting this out there to see if anyone else has experienced the same problem with Chase. My primary checking account is with another bank. Chase is a secondary checking account I have from which automated payments go to pay my Chase credit cards. I have my employer divert 10% of my paychecks to the Chase checking account automatically every two weeks. Why is it that direct deposits are credited sometimes 1 or 2 days before payday by my primary bank and it takes Chase 2 to 3 days after payday to show deposits?
My co-workers that have Chase complained about this and I had to concur with them that it is interesting to see why bank accounts are direct deposited or funded at different times. I have decided not to consolidate checking to Chase. It will remain a "secondary" account until this "glitch" or matter is addressed. I work hard for my paychecks and I want to have the funds available ON THE SAME DAY I am paid, not 2 or 3 days later.

The manager showed me the offer was input into the system. The terms were to keep a minimum balance in the account for 90 days, and the funds would automatically be deposited. I did my initial deposit online, as she had a line of people waiting. I did the deposit the following week of the minimum amount, and have had a higher balance the entire time.
Now, when I call, (and wait on the line for 30 minutes), they say they have no record of the offer on my account. I gave them the coupon code 10 days ago, and they said they would look into resolving it. I still have not been given any credit and am worn out after 2 hours on the phone with customer service last week. I feel very duped, and wonder if they count on people "forgetting" about the offer. I first called Venmo and they said they don't refund charges and that I would have to contact my bank. I called Chase and I was able to remove the $200 Venmo charge. I asked if I could get the $300 charge erased and they said that they couldn't do it because it was not yet pending on the account. I called in the next day when it was pending on the account and, much to my disappointment, the representative said that it should have been done yesterday with the first representative and that I was given bad information by that representative leaving me SOL.
I had to then wait 15 minutes for a manager who then had to call the claims department with an additional 30-minute hold time. This made me late for work all because I called in to have them fix an identical problem to the one they fixed the day before! They just don't care at all because there's nothing you can do about it. PLEASE SHARE THIS ON YOUR PAGE!!!! Today I experienced the MOST messed up situation with CHASE BANK. I've literally spent most of my day dealing with them about "MY MONEY". They put restrictions on my account yesterday because they said there was "suspicious activity". I called the fraud department to clear things up this morning and they notified me that they were closing our account (well over 5 years old) and that I wouldn't have access to my funds until 10 days once the account officially closes and then they'll send me a cashier's check with all of our money that's currently being held in the account. Now mind you our account don't ever be in the negative, we've NEVER done ANYTHING fraudulent, we've been banking with them for years.
They tell us to go into a branch office so we did that, spoke with a very nice representative, she then tells us that they need for us to bring our son up to the branch with us because of a deposit of his that went into our account, he needed to bring 2 proofs of identification with him. So I called my son to leave from a wake he was attending because we couldn't access any of our funds without him. So my son drives to us and identifies himself to the bank. We then leave and have to wait over an hour to get a call back from the representative to tell us, they won't lift the restrictions. She then gives me the fraud number to call in hopes that maybe I can try again to get somewhere.
I then called the number, waited about 40 mins before a representative answers. She tells me to hold while she checks into things. She finally comes back and tells us the same things that they are closing our account that's why the restriction. My husband questions the nature of why they're suddenly closing our account and she tells us that they can't disclose this to us. My husband is like hold up, this ain't making no sense. He asked a few more questions and she basically said it may not be due to something that we did wrong but she can't give us any information, it was up to management. I'm like but hold up what about the fact that I need my money now and in addition this is the account where my unemployment is deposited into (which was supposed to hit today after I finally got the issues resolved with them last week).
Mind you I had just made a deposit on Saturday from something that I sold (cashier's check). She says, "Oh you can access your funds, they'll just have to do a teller override and they may not feel comfortable so you can just have them call us." She assured us that she would notate the account and we wouldn't have an issue. I stressed to her that this had already been an all day thing, I just want to grab my money out. I said please make sure that you notate the account because this has already taken too much of my time. She promised and assured me that notes would be added to my account and I could get my money, she said yes.
So at this point, we rush to the bank so that we could make it before they close. We make it 5 mins before close, the teller tells us there's a restriction so they can't give us no money. We explained our discussion with the fraud department and told them about the notes on the account, they need to do a teller override. They basically told us no they couldn't do it today, they couldn't call the department because it was 6, and they didn't see any notes.
When I tell y'all Mr. ** flipped!!!! So of course I have to remain calm for us. So basically I couldn't get my money that belongs to me after proving everything to them from Chase. My husband was like damn and we really can't do ** because they're the financial institution.
