On a Saturday morning, I made a $1500. deposit into my Chase checking. The deposit slip said bank could hold deposit for 14 days! I did not receive this info until AFTER my check was consumed by the bank's ATM machine so I could not take it back. I went into the bank and talked to the bank manager, who was the Asst Mgr for that day. All she could say the check is in the machine and I can do nothing about it. She had NO information to give me.

Today is Monday and Chase is still holding my checks and I have $42 in my bank account. Evidently, because I was supposed to have read the tiny text in the bank's contract when I signed up for the account, I was supposed to know this! *Any deposits made on a weekend will not be credited until the following business day.* There was no such information given to me on the deposit slip nor did the branch manager know this! Terrible customer service! And I have been unable to use my debit card - for food, gas, etc for 3 days! Why was it being held? Deposits made on a weekend are not credited till the next business day (Monday).

First and foremost when I first called about my account they told me no money was deposited. I called my job which they informed me they already made the deposit. I call Chase back. Now they find the funds but tell me I would have to wait up to two days for them to find the funds. They put me on phone with a “Manager” who not only makes me wait like half the call but I asked to please give me a second to find the correct information, he informs me he's only going to wait two minutes then hang up. Now it's day 3 and I still don't have my money and they are telling me I'm going to have to wait another whole day before I can get my money so something that was suppose to take 2 days is going to take four and I wonder how long I was going to have to wait if I didn't have the time to wait on hold for 30min today.

On 5/11/18 my husband just started a new job and he put 1 number wrong for the deposit so his deposit was in limbo. So I called the customer service number. Talked to a girl I could barely understand. I asked to speak to a manager and the manager instead of helping sent me to another person that was so brainless. I explained my situation like 10 times he couldn't get my account number correct. I told him the number many time and he acted like he started at the bank yesterday and had no clue what and why I was sent to him and then he was so rude and unprofessional. He said, "It not our fault your husband put a incorrect number on the direct deposit" and I was like, "Duh I know that but can you find the deposit or" and he interrupted me every time I said anything and I finally hung up on him.

Great service from this bank including extras but perhaps because of large deposits. Personal banker is super idea. Very considerate toward military customers. Several nice perks for new customers at certain levels. However, interest paid for using/holding my funds has been very minimal. That’s not right but seems standard last several years.

It was time to renew flood insurance. Long story short, my 1st mortgage said they didn't need it anymore, so I told Chase, I didn't need it, they needed proof. So a rep wrote me back and forth working with me, in the end, we were waiting until I get proof of NOT needing it. After two months I couldn't get anywhere with FEMA or my 1st mortgage for proof and just paid it. Now Chase charged me for the two months of their flood insurance, which cost $ 624, and is making me repay it. When the rep kept telling me we will work with you, no problem we will wait until you get the document. Really? Now I have to repay a ridiculous amount for nothing. Chase customer service is the worst.

I received a scam call this morning regarding my credit card and called the bank to let them know, check my account and do some of my own follow up; during the call I'm told this card is frozen for being over my credit limit... I'm shocked to hear this and explain that can't possibly be, I'm then told the $500 increase I received in February was "temporary". I was NOT told that in February. I'm thinking, "Great, I'm doing something right". (I have never been late on a payment). The bottom line, they couldn't care less! I was met with complete apathy. I've banked with them for nearly 30 years, way back when they were Washington Mutual. Why would you give a temporary $500 credit limit? Now I have to have $463 paid off in less than 2 weeks. I'm utterly disgusted with the whole situation. I think this is shady and nothing short of deceptive business practice.

They are a joke. Now my whole family will be leaving to bank with someone else. They are not about their customers or anything. They are greedy, rude and etc. I would not bank with them. They screw you over and not tell you why or how. They will make you wait to get your money out of the account. This is the second time I've been locked out of my account without my knowledge. The first time, my NON-EXPIRED debit card was declined when I was trying to buy food. I was hungry and my card was declined at a Taco Bell. Embarrassing. I go to the ATM to withdraw cash. Declined again. I had sufficient funds. I call Chase and they tell me that they can only "temporarily unlock my card" for like 15 minutes so that I can withdraw cash. A new card had been sent and they demanded that I use it. I did not have this card on me.

The next time, I placed an online order through Amazon. I even ordered Amazon Prime to get a rush delivery. This was approaching the weekend, but I was scheduled to get the product as early as Friday; Saturday at the latest. Again, my card was declined because "I don't frequently make purchases online" which is BS. Keep in mind, the Fraud Department didn't call ME, similar to before, it has always involved ME reaching out to THEM (this type of security is useful if it locks out a hacker, but it's an inconvenience if it's locking out ME.). Anyway, it's resolved now. I'm able to resume my purchase online. But, even with Amazon Prime (not their fault), I won't receive my package until Monday (which defeats the purpose of using Prime to begin with).

I wanted to take the time to write this review as a word of caution to other consumers. I have had a simple business account with Chase for over 10 years. This is not a primary account, just a bill paying account. Money comes in and money goes out. It only functions as a simple transaction account. I recently noticed a monthly fee had been added to my account for a service I did not add or authorize.

After endless calls and visits with Chase, they can neither offer me any explanation of how the fee got to my account without my authority or take any culpability that there are some security issues with their banking. I now monitor my account regularly and often find unauthorized fees that Chase is unwilling to remove. Through the years, I have calculated these to be over $1200. I am astonished at the manner in which I have been treated by Chase employees when requesting this to be removed. They have not removed the charges and I have spent endless time, which is worth more than the money, trying to have these removed. So I am throwing in the towel and switching banking. I just hope this does not impact another consumer.

Payments paid through Chase online bill pay, left my account which is not disputed. However the receiving company (Sunrun) claims they never received these payment totaling over $520.00. This claim has resulted in countless hours, visits to the bank, investigations, all claiming that the transactions are valid, and Sunrun is refusing to accept that fact. At one point a local branch officer claimed to investigate this 6 month old mystery, and had seemed to discover that the funds had gone to another company in a bank error. However that quickly turned into a assumption rather than a fact in a phone conversation.

I asked them to verify this previous investigation by that bank employee. That was months ago, and still no resolve. Today is May 3rd 2018, and the last mystery transaction was made December 2017. I'm still out my double paid $520.00, which seems to have fallen into a electronic black hole. Oh by the way, been using bill pay with no problems to this company for years. All other payments to this merchant are easily verifiable, as Chase mailed checks. The missing funds for some reason were sent electronically. No check proof.

I have had two recent horrible experiences with Chase. The first was my ATM card was given to someone else at a bar when I went home with his ATM card not realizing it until the next morning. I wake up to Chase "Fraud" Alerts notifying me that $1700.00 dollars was removed from my checking account at an ATM in a city I never go to. Please note I have documentation from Chase stating the daily ATM withdrawal limit is $500.00 with no record of me requesting to increase it. They then allowed 4 additional $400.00 withdrawals before they stopped the transactions.

Chase refused to return my money and refused to look at the camera on the ATMs where this occurred as I requested. I am currently out just over $4,000 and am struggling financially now. Chase seems to think that it's not their computer's fault that an ATM would even spit out $1700 in one ATM withdrawal when the daily limit is $500. DO NOT TRUST YOUR MONEY WITH THIS BANK! IT IS NOT SAFE!

The account specialist came back on the line and said that the account was still under review. I asked if I could go into the bank with my ID and proof of address which he stated yes. That same day they mailed out a letter that they were closing the account due to not being able to verify my identity. Recently had my locker at work broken into and my wallet stolen. When I got the fraud alert from Chase I was unaware that my wallet was gone so when they asked if I had my card I told them that as far as I knew it was still in my wallet in my locker as I had it at lunch. They refunded my money for the fraudulent purchase. About an hour later I called them back to let them know my wallet was stolen, they did not document this call. 2 weeks go by and I get a letter from Chase saying that since my card is a chip/pin card it had to be physically present for the purchase to be made so they were denying my claim for the fraudulent purchase and reversing the credit they gave me.

When I questioned them about the second call they claim to have no record of it. I have provided a police report and security footage of the suspect making the purchase to prove that I was not there but they are sticking to the original call when I told them I had the card before I found out my wallet was gone. Please reconsider opening any account with them because if anything goes wrong they will not help recover your money or help in any way to resolve the issue.

I joined Chase bank in Gig Harbor Wa. for several reasons. One was I needed a good local bank, since I bank with a mostly online bank, 2. Chase offered a good bonus for using direct deposit and having a minimum savings for a few months, and the most important is the extra benefits such as the Notary public they allow members to use free of charge. The problem is that the Notary is basically a non-benefit since Chase will not notarize some of the most common documents. When I presented my closing documents on a house to notarize in 7 places, the notary was o.k. with all the documents except the one that said I presented a valid government issued ID to identify myself. He told me that he could not tell if the documents were actual state issued driver's licenses or if they were counterfeit.

I thought this odd, but said, "Oh no problem, I can get my passport and use that instead." He said, "I won't be able to tell if that is real or not either, and Chase does not want to assume the liability that perhaps the documents are not real." This is really odd that a bank cannot verify a driver's license. It was o.k. and they verified me with that same license to set up the account. Guess what Chase? You can go chase another customer as I will be finding a better local bank that actually provides the services they say they do. The way I see it you owe me $70.00 that it cost for the Notary you were too incompetent to provide.

I opened a new business checking account with a local branch of Chase/JP Morgan in Fort Myers last week primarily because US Bank, my primary business bank, does not have offices or branches in Florida. I also wanted to consolidate three business lines of credit and business credits cards into a low interest 5 year term loan. I applied for the term loan 7 weeks ago and submitted countless documents over the 7 week period, many of them redundant to the first set of documents submitted on day 1. During these 7 weeks, I had to prove I owned my company of 30 years. No one I have ever worked with in 30 years has demanded I prove I own my company because it is in the public domain and on my tax returns.

After 7 weeks and a verbal approval of the term loan, I stopped by the nearest branch office to see what documents I needed to sign. The very pleasant branch manager called the customer rep I was dealing with and said that there were no documents to sign, so I left. The next day, 4/17/18, I went back into the bank due to a request received that previous night @ 9pm by the rep who said I needed to open a checking account to receive the term loan. So I went back and opened the account with another very pleasant bank office at this local branch.

I also opened an online account and also obtained a debit card. The next day the roving customer service rep who I had been working with for these 7 weeks said that they needed further information and could not approve the term loan until I provided it. These newest requests were redundant to the original document requests and were on file. I was stunned at the reversal after I spent so much time in these 7 weeks providing documents to support the small term loan. Then, yesterday, I was locked out of my online account. When I called, I was told I needed to go back to the branch and prove again who I was with 2 forms of identification. I was simply dumbfounded at this point. They had this information on file from 3 days previously.

The branch manager, while friendly, could not override their system. At this point due to first the approval of a term loan, and then the demand I return to the bank and re-prove who I was was the last straw. I cancelled the business accounts and term loan application. While I like and use extensively the United Airlines Chase credit cards for both personal and business use due to the accrued miles, I cannot recall a worse experience in 30 years of successful business with a bank. They were disorganized, disjointed, inefficient, and the individual representative whom I had to deal with was downright rude and unprofessional.

I would not bank with Chase if they reopened my account for free, matched my biweekly direct deposit from my employer AND gave me a 5 percent interest rate on top of that!! These people are a nightmare, from over the phone to in person behind a counter. I actually had an account rep get UP from helping me, start helping someone ELSE because he was on hold with account verification services (and this was after sitting in a lobby for 30 minutes) then, after he hung up he explained he would have to reopen my account and because I was there late; (Reiterate, sat in an empty lobby at 3:25 pm for 30 minutes while he chatted with a teller) he would have to do it another time because it took close to an hour to do so.

I explained I work 12 to 14 hour days, 7 days a week and had to beg to get off early to be there at 3:25. There wasn't any other day I could get off, and he literally said "not my problem" (They didn't close till 5pm). Then, I told him, "Fine...just give me my money." So he cut me a check and then the teller refused to cash it, claiming she didn't know where it came from when the rep sat in his office and handed it to me for the amount owed when they closed out my account. This is all after Chase closed my checking account with a positive balance without any contact or communication, because I had to start my account set up online. I went with Huntington instead and have had a wonderful experience, even their customer service and tellers are polite.

I called the bank and they told me that the $9.00 that I transfer on Sunday was not enough to cover for both translations since the overdraft for $9.00 didn't process till Monday, I don't understand if the $9.00 were showing overdraft on Saturday and I made a transfer on Sunday why do I still get charge on Monday. My opinion is that Chase is overcharging, I would like someone to overlook this matter of overdraft charges from Chase Bank.

I deposited a large amount check that was a temp check. My customer handwritten their company name on the check. When I was depositing it, I asked the teller if it was ok to deposit it. She told me that there will be a 10 day hold on the funds. Next day they restricted my account. I couldn't make any more deposits, use my debit card, just like they closed my account without any notice.

I never deposited a bad check in that account. My deposits were over 100K in that account every month. I contacted their customer service. I got the usual runaround. I asked to talk to a supervisor. After explaining the situation, she told me to have my client go to a branch with two forms of ID and articles of the corporation showing that she was an officer of that corporation with bank paperworks showing that she was an authorized signer on that account that she wrote the check from.

Next day, I contacted my client and explain the embarrassing situation to her and she agreed to join me at one of their branches. She also told me that the money was already deducted from her checking account. I went there 30 minutes earlier. I talked to the branch manager and told her that my client was on her way to verify that check. I also told her that the check had been cleared and paid by her bank. The manager called the fraud prevention department. Then they changed their story 180 degrees. They said that they had to verify everything on their side with the other bank. And my client showing up with the requested documents won't help the situation. I think this is an excuse for them to hold the large funds a little bit longer for whatever reason. But I'm done with these thieves. I will switch my bank account to another bank and I will warn other people not to use this bank.

I’m pretty good at looking at my statements on my phone and I saw a check that was deducted from my account for 90 dollars... I clicked on the check image and it’s someone’s personal check that was written out to someone else but was deducted from my account. I was surprised that this can happen. I called the bank. They transferred the call to recovery. They credit my account but I’m left with the image on my account of the check... which includes their name, address, and account information... the rep said it's common. Out of 500 one is always put in wrong account... then she changed it and said, "Oh it’s not that common." I asked her isn’t there a HIPAA law against this? She laughed and said that’s just medical related... I know it is but I figured they have a law that requires confidential on accounts. I mean to know that someone can access an account and routing number is pretty scary.

After being a Chase customer for over ten years, they decided my deposit was too high of a dollar value for someone of my past financial amount, and has chosen to hold my deposit for the federally allowed ten days. This was a printed check. Being sent to “loss prevention” to even discuss my account leaves the impression that they think I’m a criminal. In my opinion, Chase is the worst place to go unless you want nothing in return for being a faithful customer for over a decade. Go local. This bank is nothing more than a credit card company, masquerading as a bank. Don’t waste your time on a computer bank such as this.

Applied for a Chase Sapphire credit card that advertised an intro offer of a $0 annual fee. Once I received my card they charged me $95. When I contacted them they told me that in that small window when I applied the offer was no longer being offered. The offer has ALWAYS been offered since I’ve been logging on to my acct, and is STILL being offered. But for that day and hour when I filled out the app, it wasn’t. They refused to take it off and they would not transfer me to any higher management to discuss. Will be canceling all Chase cards.

My husband and I travel a lot and stay in different hotels. Our last trip to Hawaii we were offered a Marriott Card when staying at the Marriott Hotel. We obtained this card which is through Chase Bank. We do not bank with Chase but before our recent experience we were planning to switch banks to bank with Chase. We use this card a lot, would used it, pay it off. So they raised the credit limit amount.

About six months ago we were victims of a Scam. My husband and I invested a heavy dollar amount into a program that was Scamming consumers. We used four credit cards for this, and immediately called all four of them explained the situation and provided all documentation, disputing the charges. Wells Fargo immediately worked with us and got our money back. However, Chase took their sweet time to do anything. Every time I would call to speak to someone in regards to the matter, every time I would have to explain the whole situation and provide documentation. I didn't understand why they would say they were taking notes in the matter, when every phone call the new rep had no clue as to what was going on. I provided all necessary documentation and called disputing the charges the same exact time as with the rest of the credit cards used. Got all of them resolved within a timely matter, except my Chase card.

I must have spoken with over a dozen reps at Chase in regards to this matter and sent documentation about five times, twice faxed, once mail, twice emailed! Every time I called to check on the status, they claimed it was still being investigated, only to find out four months into it that they had closed the case due to no documentation from me??? I was livid, knowing how many times they kept making me send documentation. Called and spoke to a manager, which she said she can re-open the dispute and send documents again. This was early January 2018, dispute began October 2017. I re-sent Everything, with more documents this time. Kept calling, made sure they received everything, got confirmations on dates and wrote down names of every rep spoken to since the re-open.

About a month later, in February 2018, they closed the case, again I had to call to find this out that I was being charged this amount because I received a letter of past due amount. The reps at Chase said I didn't have to pay until the case was closed. I found out they closed the case, (without contacting me) due to the time that had already passed. Although it was them that took so long in this matter!! I spoke with a Supervisor in the Dispute Department today. His name he said was David **. Very rude! Would not listen to what I was saying and just kept saying the amount was owed, there was nothing they could do since too much time had passed. Would not even provide me with his last name! I said to him, "You're not even going to give me your last name?" After asking several times, he said, "NO."

They closed the dispute due to something they did or did Not do! Too much time passed because THEY took that time, had nothing to do with me! I provided all documentation plenty of times and kept up on it! It was negligence on their part! The company we had invested our hard earned money on turned out to be a Scam, there is an on-going investigation on them through the FTC, Bureau of Consumer Protection. Wells Fargo, as well as the other credit cards helped us, "the consumer" retrieve our money quickly, no runarounds. They quickly investigated and was on it. Chase, however, neglected their customer, neglected the proof provided, and provided Very Poor customer service.

I would NOT recommend anyone to bank with Chase! They do not care about their customers and are very poorly trained. I don't understand how one bank helped us resolve this situation, and another one neglected in helping us. Never will I bank with Chase, and I will continue to speak on the poor service provided to help others not bank with them either, so they don't go through the awful experience we went through! Such a waste of time, energy, & stress!

I recently had to close my account with Chase. I had only just recently opened an account with them when I had two non chase ATM withdraws that were made one after another out of my account. I did not lose my card and had it on me at all times. My dispute was denied so I contacted the 800 number to find out why it was denied. I was told by a very rude banker that it was denied due to the fact that my pin was used with my chipped card and due to the fact that chip is impossible to clone. I asked how it was possible as I obviously know it was not myself who made that withdraw and am concerned with the safety of my money. I was told the same thing over again on repeat and told that even if it were to happen again there's still nothing they can or will do about it. I voiced that it's unacceptable and that it only makes me more uncomfortable banking with them knowing there is no such security or guaranteed safety for my money.

The banker only replied with, "Is there anything else I could help you with today." I said, "Yes. I want to speak to a manager" and he unwillingly continued to notify me that there was nothing that could be done and that I'd be told so by anyone else. Once I spoke to whoever he then transferred me to. They immediately had attitude with me and gave me the exact same response ending with is there anything else she could do to help me today. Totally ignoring my issue and complaint. Chase has no such thing as customer service. I went to the bank the very next day to only be told there's nothing they can do due to the fact that it's impossible to clone a chipped card. They told me that I would need to go to the police to get a video footage of the ATM to prove it was not me. I contacted the Fort Lauderdale police department the very next day.

I was informed that I would need an address for the transaction, I called Chase back for the address and the police officer said it was impossible as it's in the middle of an apartment complex. I by this time was tired of playing man in the middle and verified with the office that I could get the bank to contact him directly to get the information and that it did not need to come from me directly. I went back to Chase the very next day with all this information only to be told that they cannot and do not deal with the police and cannot cooperate in assisting me.

When I said the address is incorrect they denied it and said that it is in fact the address where the money was drawn from even though they themselves could see it was in an apartment complex. They offered no further assistance or for of help to resolve the problem and that I was responsible for the cost. I closed my account immediately as I am not comfortable banking with a business that offers no form of protection, assistance or customer service. I have never experienced anything remotely close with any other bank. They couldn't careless what happens to your money with them as long as you eat the cost.

If Chase kicked back this direct deposit because the name doesn't match them the company can help me but since they are accepting the direct deposit, they do not see that this is a problem. They’ve waited 3 months to post a debit payment on my account and somehow processed a check the same day I wrote it well after banking hours. Oddly enough they hurriedly posted these transactions when account balance was running low usually before a scheduled direct deposit. Then forcing it open so they can receive my direct deposit from work, then quickly closing it again without telling me they had my money. So not only am I victim of the theft, I have been victimized again by Chase Bank! What crooks! Is this how they do business? Isn’t there a government agency that I can turn to in regards to their actions? I’m going to check into it right now. They are wrong in what they have done! I’m going to see if I can make them pay for violating me worse then the people who stole my identity! Because if they are accusing me of some kind of wrongdoing, then they better have proof, but I know they don’t because I know I haven’t done anything wrong!

I now keep being turned down applying for another account, they must be blackballing me through the credit systems. This is terrible what they are doing! Plus, them returning the auto pays I had made me be late on a few bills and I’m now being charged fees from all the businesses that they didn’t pay. On March 22nd, 2018 I called the 1800 number for Chase Customer Service. I spoke with a regular employee. I asked him to waive my insufficient fund fee I incurred yesterday. He then told me I had hit my limit on the fees that could be waived insufficient fund fees. I placed the concern that Chase Bank has a system they have created that takes insufficient fund fees from people, but no system that notifies the customer through text that says "Hey you incurred a sufficient fund fee today, here's a reminder to take care of that." The employee at Chase then proceeded to tell me they do have a system that does that. I placed another concern with this guy that why does Chase employees not tell people that they have had a couple insufficient fund fees and that they should set up that alert.

I then asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor's name was Patricia. I told everything I told the employee I was just speaking to. She said there's nothing she could do about waiving the insufficient fund fee. I said, "So Chase is okay with taking charges from people, but not telling them the customers they have an option of being alerted." She said she can't control what other employees do. I made the comment that there is no policy in place that Chase should notify people that they can get an alert. I said people have busy lives and work so checking their bank account is something they don't do every day.

To end the conversation, I said, "There are many banks out there. I bank with US Bank also that I just got a CD (Certificate of Deposit) with them, a credit card through them, and in the near future looking to buy a house and refinance my car. Based off this experience with Chase I will not be building that relationship with you guys that I am with US Bank. So, once I pay the insufficient fund fee I will be canceling my account with Chase." After that conversation with Patricia I called again to the customer service 1800 line. Spoke with a superior named Eden out of the Tempe, AZ call center (Call id# **) and told him the same thing that I told Patricia on the previous phone call. For the most part Chase has been a nightmare to work with. I have had business and personal accounts with them and can say that they have serious issues concerning customer care. Let's talk FEES. How are Chase's overdraft fees even legal? My account went negative last night due to a couple very small unforeseen charges. I have my savings account elsewhere so in this account I use primarily for day to day expenses. I noticed last night that my account was negative so I added funds (probably a little too late around 10:30pm) and thought, okay we're good. NOPE, woke up this morning to 3 late fees of $34 each to equal $102. That was the penalty for 3 charges on my account that forced it negative for a combined total of $37.99 overcharge on my account that was remedied an hour after the 9pm cutoff via Quickpay from another account which transferred instantly. INSANITY. CHASE IS JUST PURE EVIL.

I am done with this company, it really sucks that we can't do anything about their malpractices. We have no voice when it comes to these big banking companies and it's infuriating! I've been charged $34 for being overdrawn less than a dollar for less than a day! You guys know what you're doing and laugh all the way to the damn bank... Oh wait a minute... Stay clear of Chase if you are looking for a new banking company, support your local banks or credit unions, I tend to put up with Chase because literally all of my bills and everything are connected so it would be a huge pain to change everything. I will be making the switch to my local bank soon, enough is enough.

I called Chase to see if I can move my payment from a Thursday to a Friday. Because I've closed my account, I normally don't deal directly with the credit department as they have a separate department for the payment schedules. Not realizing this, I called Chase's regular credit department. The woman I spoke with first told me she couldn't help me - she didn't bother to mention the other department, I later found that out from her manager. I asked her why I was able to move the payment in the past and she told me that there was no record of it ever being done for me and suggested if it were "true" I would have the exact date available to give her. I told her it was likely in the last few months and she said "You already requested a payment to be moved in the last few months? Then we definitely cant help you."

I pulled up my bank statement to try and find the month where the date was changed and she mockingly said "Oh right because you have those details right?" As I was looking she says, "Also, your account is closed. So we can't help you, what? Are you dealing with financial hardship?" This is a sensitive subject to be so careless with and Chase's employees should know better. I told her she was being very rude and she said "No, I just talk like this." I asked to speak with her manager and once he was on the phone her tone completely changed and she told him that I had a question about billing. I asked to speak to her manager to report her behavior and she knew that. The entire thing was DISGUSTING. The way these banks believe they can treat people is GROSS. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CHASE. But still they showed us their bogus & baseless policy to hold that money for a week. I am writing this today with heavy heart that I am in trouble to pay my own bill because of their unexpected policy. They lost their few customers for sure from today who are my friends & family. If I knew about their this much bad services I wouldn’t opened my account with them ever!!

I attempted to send my money to another party using Zelle through my Chase bank account and Chase put a hold/freeze on my account, no longer allowing me to view my account or credit card account online. I found out about this issue when I tried to access my account the following day online. Then I got a call from their security department stating, the only way to resolve this issue is if I physically go into a Chase branch with 2 forms of id. The following day I did exactly as they asked and went into a branch 741532 and spoke with Terry who then spend over 20 minutes with me while I closed my account and withdrew all of my funds. I explained that I would not do business with a bank that did not allow me access to my own funds or visibility to my accounts.

Two days later I tried to access my online account as I still had a credit card with the company and needed to review my transactions. Only to find out my account was still frozen. I called the credit card company, they were unable to assist me and transferred me to their bank department. They proceeded to tell me that I would have to go into a branch again to verify my identity again, because their employee failed to call them while I was in the branch the 1st time. Keep in mind not only did I go into the branch per their request to verify my identity, I also performed a transaction, showed my identification, and signed their documentation to close my banking account. I also received a cashier’s check and Chase transaction receipt during this visit.

I spoke with 4 different Chase representatives one being a supervisor who stated I could not speak to someone higher than a supervisor to resolve the issue. After an hour of talking to these 4 representative they finally agreed that if I call THEM back in 10 minutes when the branch opens that we could do a conference call. I asked that they call me in 10 minutes, but they refused and said I needed to call them. Chase should provide their employees and management staff with the ability to use common sense and ability to make outbound calls to their consumers to resolve issues. Instead they like to hide behind the phone and make the consumers jump through hoop after hoop to resolve issues that were created by their own employees for not calling the security line when I was in the branch. I would add the Chase employees’ names, but feel that adds no value as Chase has records of everything that has transpired.

I opened my Chase Account in Jan 2018. East Coast Banking hours, literally. I have two stipulations where Merchants mistakenly charged my Chase Debit VISA via online payments (one a “computer error”. One a human error) and it took days to get my money back into my account. They have set up their system in generosity to Merchants; with absolutely no care taken of their Clients! Right now I am out $270.00 until the mistake “drops off”. No provisional credit, nothing. The Merchant has 15 days to reverse this charge that was in error! Also, when you deposit a check with a teller or via ATM, they only give you $100 from the total check amount, and it can take 4-5 days for the rest of the check to clear, if you deposit on a Friday (East Coast time). You will not have that money until Tuesday morning!

If you have one job and one Direct Deposit one check, this would work for you. I get paid from many sources; some paper checks, some direct deposit, some PayPal. My money is withheld from my use constantly and it is utterly frustrating. I would say that Chase is not a good bank for a person. Chase could be a good bank for a Merchant/Business because their banking is literally back in the “good ‘ole boy banker’s hours days” of banking. So old fashioned and very slow. Slowest processing time ever, for personal banking customers. I do not recommend banking with Chase if you are an individual who likes quick and easy access to YOUR MONEY.

CHASE's automated system is terrible. I would not be banking with CHASE if it were not for mortgage being with CHASE. I have spent way too much time on the phone correcting mistakes of double mortgage payments and property taxes NOT being paid from escrow account!!! Twice my taxes have not been paid on time and I have had to call in to get Chase to pay. Chase and my county have confirmed that CHASE is set up to receive the bill and pay the taxes, yet I have to check-in and request it be done twice a year. Wow!

Most recently I changed the date for my auto pay mortgage. My mortgage was not paid and I was advised by CHASE to pay it manually from my online account. After paying my mortgage, CHASES auto pay system also debited me for my mortgage, sending my account into overdraft. I have no money available to me currently and have been on the phone for 20 minutes trying to get this fixed. CHASE's response: "As a courtesy we will fix fees for you". Horrible response to CHASE's own mistake.

I never received any documents on to why the amount was reversed. I called chase and they said that whoever had my card must have taken it from me, so it's my responsibility to make sure no one gets into my stuff at work. I don't know how that's possible if I can't always be watching every inch of my job.

My favorite part is that when they asked if I authorized someone to use my card I told them no, then they said that since someone took my card without my knowledge that I was authorizing them. It didn't matter if no ID was required and no pin was used, it was still my fault somehow. Great customer service, I was hung up on by a senior specialist because he did not like that they were providing me with wrong information. So who are the chip cards really here to protect? The consumer or the bank so they can use that as an excuse to keep your money.

The last time they did this they went ahead and became more aggressive by turning off without my consent overdraft protection and moving to not pay subsequent debts to account while still charging for overdraft. The result is that all my bills were declined and now I need to find a way to make it up to each individual merchant I paid while there was money in my account. Their answer was, that they reserve the final decision to pay or not an overdraft while they originated the situation where my account would go into overdraft themselves.

August of last year I requested Chase Bank to transfer my balance of 1500.00 to Wells Fargo. 09/14/2017 Wells Fargo sent the amount by transmission, but nowhere on my statement does it show their deduction of that payment. It's listed as credit then debit, then debit. In short, company does not see this error. I disputed this particular issue only in a dispute with them and reported to CFPB. They responded only to a 1955.00 Scam THAT WELLS FARGO DID PAY OFF AS WELL.

Their statements for the months involved in the dispute are "A MESS". At one time I had a minus balance and upon calling I was told (a few weeks later) that all was concluded that I owed only 386.00 (approx.). JP Morgan Executive officer got involved and decided against my dispute...involving 1955.00...NOT 1500.00. They claim I owe approx. 1800.00 not subtracting the 1500.00. I reopened another dispute in January and have yet to hear from Chase or the CFPB. I initially filed this extra dispute with the 3 major credit report companies and sent Elsie at JP Morgan Executive office a copy of statements I highlight showing THEIR error. Nothing from them either. I have sent two payments toward the 389.00 (128 and 110.00 toward that balance) and will now wait for someone Chase, Credit Report Co.s, CFPB to DO SOMETHING.

And I watched, and watched, and watched. Eventually I went into my local branch office and talked to an account specialist, and was told that in order to receive the bonus I would've had to have opened the account in the branch and not online. I have had MULTIPLE incidences with Chase over the years. Last example is that they STOPPED a wire transfer HOURS after I had sent it, and wanted me verify my account via ONLINE and asked a stupid question I couldn't answer correctly (what year did you open your account)? No other questions like "What's my mother's maiden name?" or "What was your first school?", etc. or any other of a million KNOWN answers were allowed, one wrong answer on a "guess" question and I was shut down!) and they blocked me, and therefore my wire transfer was officially stopped again from happening and lost a business opportunity (thousands of dollars) since I didn't fulfill my obligation by wiring agreed funds within time limit.

I was OUT of town and was also required to visit a local branch (I was in Brooklyn and had to take subways in rain to NYC). There I was also not allowed (they had no Internet service even in their "TIME SQUARE" Branch and had to leave bank and go to Starbucks to use internet to retrieve the information I needed via my email account. They even CALLED me (at Starbucks) to tell me I needed to hurry because I had left my luggage in the bank and needed it moved. They also gave me a "temporary" debit card that didn't work, and one bank branch said it would work for ATM's only, but when tried to use it it didn't work. Main branch said I had to have a new one "mailed" to me. I need my "card" now, as I'm on vacation. Went to another branch and they had one sent to my hotel the next day.

Every excuse from online (even calling and going up the chain of command to supervisors) to different branch agents said all of these precautions were for MY BENEFIT, SECURITY purposes, etc. B.S., It's my money, I have all necessary ID's including my passport and it wasn't good enough to prove at different situations that I was who I was. Not only major bank to do this type BS, PayPal, BoA, etc. have all KEPT me from doing normal banking with my money (and they do charge large fees for everything).

They'll loan/leverage out my money so as for THEM to make money for themselves and deny me my own use under their own self. I'd like to have my "idle" funds making some kind of interest like the "old" days when a "savings" account earned something, 2-5%? while THEY loaned out that money (90%) for whatever the market would bare, but NO, their "interest" rates to use my money were well under 1%! The whole banking industry is a joke/monopoly and controlled by the 1% to suck us "normal" people dry.

Having a business account at the Jackson Heights office and we were victim of fraud into our business account two times within the first year. I was warned about this problem at Chase bank. Now I'm a victim. The bank offers you to buy an insurance that will not protect you at all. They do not take any responsibility. The second time they paid a check that was fake, did not belong to the Chase neither to our account, fake signature, printed with grammar mistake. The check number was duplicated, meaning that they paid two times the same check number. This bank has no management.

We have 5 business accounts with Chase Bank since 2005. But the business services almost none and disappointed. We applied construction loan with Chase in 2016. It was a big mistake to take the loan from Chase. Since their loan process and each fund release was terribly slow (average 3 month for each draw release) and very disorganized. It made our whole building process delayed. But after we completed the job, submitted all papers they requested, passed all the bank inspection and payments, they hold the final retaining payment, no explanation, no responding, no information for the closing.

The relationship managers doesn't answer the phone calls... But before we take the loan, they are totally different, they call us all the time, even came to our office to explain all the details, let you sign all the papers... it a terrible experiences... Also the bank check safety are big concern too. We were experienced 4 fabricated checks deposited and withdrawer for $14,540.00. Some of our friend has same issue with 9 fabricated checks deposited. They only want your business, but no services at all! We are very disappointed and regret to choose this bank.

I have been a Chase customer for many years. I use their checking account heavily as my transaction account for all deposit of my income and all payments. Recently I have opened a new Savings account online through my Chase Login. There's a promotional bonus that comes with it, but it requires all $25000 deposit be made within 10 days. It took a few days for the Chase account to appear in my login, after I successfully opened the account, and have the account number appear in my online access, I went ahead to make three transfers from my two other external accounts in order to meet the deposit timeline.

The next day when I try to login to Chase to deposit a check, my account was suspended. However, in my external accounts, the money is shown as withdrawn. I called Chase, they said they suspected fraudulent activities in my account, even though I was able to confirm my identity, answered all their questions about the recent deposits, my debit card number, and provided the security code from my phone. They said they cannot contact the external bank, and requested that I call back the next day before 2 PM. The problem was, fund was already removed from my external bank, and Chase is the bank which seem to have a problem and suspended my account.

I told them that I use this account heavily, to make my deposits, to pay my bills. Now it's so inconvenient to me, that I can't do anything via Chase Online, until this account is unsuspended. If they had concerns with the new account, they should only place a hold on the funds in the new account, they should not suspend my entire access to my other account. Even if they chose to do that, when I was able to verify all my information on the first call, they should at least make my transaction account available for my use.

They say they do this for my account security, but really, they are over-doing this to protect themselves from potential loss at the cost of the convenience of their customers. They have been selling their Chase Private Client program to me, but I don't know if I want to do - from this experience, it tells me they care for themselves more so than their customers, and they are not afraid to show that.

I made online transaction using Chase online. I used the quick pay to send a payment to my trainer. I had used Chase online before, but not the quick pay function. When I reached out to the payee to confirm that they received the 320.00 payment, they said they had not received it. When I attempted to go online to see if the transaction was process, I received this large message saying that I could not log in. Access had been blocked and that I needed to call the bank. I thought ok, so they just want to verify that I made that transaction for my protection. I call then they ask me for my ATM #, my PIN#, the sec # on the back of the card all the other info that they asked for to verify my identity. As they review everything they tell me they can't assist me. I was told that they had to transfer me to the Fraud Prevention department. The customer service could not tell me anything more.

I wait and I am transferred. I then repeat again the process of verifying my identity get connected, go through the process above again of identifying my identity to then be told that I must go to the bank with two pieces of ID to prove my identity. I asked them why and they would not tell me. I had a hard time understanding their name because they had a thick accent. Apparently, the Fraud Prevention Dept has been outsourced to India. I explained that this would be a large inconvenience for me, but that made no difference. I explained that I work long hours and work far from home so I get home late. I am home one day per week, but I take care of two small grandchildren (1 yr and 3yr). That meant nothing to the man I was given no explanation that would justify this decision on their part.

I then reached out to my local branch in hopes that they could tell me why I needed to go in physically with two forms of ID and they would not explain why. They saw the 320.00 transaction, so they did think it was odd for such a small amount. They told me they could do nothing to help me. I had to go in because the guy in the Fraud Department in India indicated that is what I needed to do. I then told them if I go in, it will be to close all my accounts. I then reached out to Chase on Twitter and basically after they apologized profusely, they could do nothing because the guy in Fraud Department was calling the shots.

Oh I will be going in as soon as I close my credit card account and move it to another credit company, and I will be closing all accounts. I was made to feel like a criminal. I have no problem with the fraud department monitoring and questioning, I actually appreciate it, BUT once I speak to them and they confirm my identity with all my private info, why is that not enough? It was basically "You need to go in with 2 ID's to prove your identity because I said so." No one at the local branch has fought to see why this is happening. The local branch manager was flip and said she would assist me with closing my account.

After being made to wait for 25 minutes, I sat there waiting to receive my card, when they told me they wouldn't help me because I was from out of state. Fast forward three days, I find my card. When I tried to use it, it gets declined.

So after wasting another 10 minutes of my time waiting in a busy line for food, I have to step out to call them. They tell me that my card is closed and when I tell them they need to fix it, they just tell me what my most recent transaction is and that they can't do anything about it. To top it all off, I had a little bit of a financial struggle during the government shutdown and ask if they would be willing to refund my overdraft fees just the one time. Nope, they don't bother. Chase cares about business, not their customers, and certainly don't live up to the "military friendly" title they like to claim.

Mind you, I've known this person for 11 years and though he was nice, business owner, father of 2, baseball coach. I came off to find out he wrote over $10,000 of fraudulent checks on my account. I went to Chase Bank, they verified it was NOT my signature.

I went to the police and filed a report as suggested and brought it to the bank. They DENIED my claim saying it was my fault. They continue to deny my claim and now I am going to every news station I can to get this in the news. THEY verified it was not my signature and said my checks should always be in a locked safe and it's my fault. I will make this national news as is it beyond wrong. Chase Bank does NOT protect their customers even after verifying the checks were fraudulent. Do NOT bank with Chase Bank! They will never help you! I have proof of EVERYTHING!!!

After three days I went back to speak to her. She called again. They told her that the $2,627 that was debited, would be sent as a check back to my house. I asked her why can't it electronically be put back into my account. Her answer was very vague. Saying that we are dealing with two different departments. This is old style banking from the 1970's!!! I was transferred to a woman who could barely speak English, and whom spoke 3,000 words a minute. A three minute call to Chase turned into a twenty minute phone call. If losing your card isn't frustrating enough, you then speak to Customer Service whom you cannot understand her at all, having to ask her to repeat herself over and over several times, then being informed that I cannot get a temporary card. Why??? Because I'm in another State, other than the one in which I live in. I was fuming.

What sense does this make, none! So, then she informed me not to worry, you will receive your new debit card in 5 to 7 business days in the mail, to your home address. I then explained to her, that wouldn't help since I'm in another State. I was informed these are Chase rules. I am fed up with Chase. Their rules are so strict that if you are a customer, you cant even do barely anything at all. Their newest crackdown on security is pathetic. Well thanks again Chase for not helping your customer at all. Your rules and regulations are out of hand. I'm switching banks as soon as I return home.

A little about Chase Bank!!! This bank is the worst bank that I have had. 1st of all their monthly fee is outrageously high $12. A lot of people don't have $1500 to put in a bank every month to waive a $12 fee every month... 2nd of all I have had this bank over 3 years now. I use this bank every single month for that many years. And my husband also has an account with me. We went to Chase Bank on December 30 as we had just gotten a loan and wanted to put the check in the bank to save for our vacation in May. To Hawaii. The lady said that it would be available in 5 days.

Well the 5th day came around and I checked it to see if the funds were available. They were still not available. Well I couldn't figure out why that was going on. I called Chase Bank and asked them what was going on with the funds. They said they placed a hold on it until the 11th of January. Mind you I cash the check on January 30th. She told me that they placed a hold on it because they have to make sure the check cleared. 1st of all no check takes that many days to clear. I have already gotten a loan from this place before so I knew it went right through the 1st time on the 1st I got a loan.

Then I go home check my mail and there is a letter to my husband saying that they placed a hold on the check because of his card being inactive for so long because I am the one that usually uses the bank for bill payment every month he really doesn't use it that much. Regardless of his inactivity he still has a Chase card and it is his bank account so therefore I am going down there since my funds have finally been received and closing my account because of this bank's ways.

It is ridiculous to do this to your customers. You are definitely in the wrong. If this would have been an emergency and we needed this check right away this loan we would have never gotten it and it would have been a waste of time if we had needed it really bad. You people really need to figure out what a bank is because you are going to lose your customers. I have Banner Bank also and I love my bank I never have any problems ever. None!!! If I go to another ATM they will pay me back the fee in my bank account right away. There are no monthly fees and never any hassles. The only bad side is they are closed on Saturday and Sunday. But that's just fine if you have an ATM card it should be nothing to worry about. Chase I really hope you change your ways because you are one bad bank!!! So I hope you out there are people pick a better bank because Chase is not very good.

My daughter and her husband's house burned, and they escaped with nothing but their cars and the pajamas they were wearing at the time. Chase Bank refused them access to their bank account, which they needed to pay for shoes, food, and a place to stay — even after they were able to replace their driver's licenses. The bank took their insurance check, put a 72-hour hold on funds (leaving them penniless despite the cash in their account) and insisted that a new ATM/debit card would have to be mailed to the house that had just burned to the ground, perhaps in "as soon as two business days."

They were newly homeless, and Chase denied them access to their own money, at the time when they most desperately needed it. Had they not had friends and family, Chase Bank's policy of denying them access to their only means of paying food and housing would have endangered them; due to the fire, they were newly homeless in Colorado in January! Chase has no heart. There needs to be a law that requires the bank to give a person access to their own assets in time of emergency! By the way, I called Chase corporate. Their comment was that this followed standard Chase policy.

They closed my account down and sent me the funds in my account minus the $14,000. To date the $14,000 has neither been returned to the issuer of the check nor to me and is held in a suspended account that Chase has. This is absolute fraud and theft! I keep getting the runaround and Chase's Fraud department is in INDIA of all places. When I call them they try to tell me that the issuer of the check and myself need to go into a Chase bank so they know who wrote the check - this is ridiculous. I am in Dallas while the gentlemen is in San Antonio. This has gone on for over a month.

In the US and Texas all bank accounts that are opened are verified - it is the law. The funds cleared and were transferred, yet Chase is holding all the money and not releasing it. There needs to be some consumer protection against this sort of thing. Now someone in INDIA knows all my information - no wonder there is so much bank fraud. Chase keeps saying that they cannot verify who wrote the check, yet it was from another bank in Texas and the funds cleared etc... I have communicated with the original issuer of the check and now their bank is taking action... who knows how long this is going to take. In the meantime I do not have the $14,000 or the title to car. Beware of these large bank institutions - who am I supposed to report this to now - is there no government agency to protect consumers from this.

Oh we have chips embedded in our cards which will cut down on this very thing. Well, it doesn't work and neither does Chase's process. I am tired of getting different answers everytime I talk to someone there. I am done with this company.

So much for 24/7 customer service. I can't wait to get away from JPMorgan Chase. After 8 years of issue after issue this is the final straw. Someone has hacked my account and they would rather give them several more hours to do more damage than to hire enough people to run fraud detection 24/7. Then they gladly took my deposits, including paycheck, but wouldn't let me touch MY MONEY. Claimed they have to mail me it. No one told me anything, they just chose to close my account. Oh well, at least I got $250 for opening a checking account with them. Every person I dealt with suddenly turned into a robot when I asked what was going on. They would not let me then CLOSE the account. They said it will take 10 days to close. That means, my upcoming paycheck will be deposited, they will hold it, then have to mail it. My wife received her ATM card on December 4th. That day she deposited a $400 check I had written from my First United account. Her receipt said the funds would be available December 13. When I deposit a Chase check in my First United account the funds are available the next day.

I checked my First United account and that check was processed December 5. A week later the deposit is still pending and unavailable at Chase. My wife brought copies of my bank statement and a photo of the processes check to the Chase branch and showed them to the manager. He just said, "Oh well, nothing can be done." I also purchased an auto last week. Chase pre-approved the loan but when the dealership manager looked at the rate he said he could and did find me a better rate. I will be closing my Chase accounts. I found out that there were 3 other people who used this same company and had checks sent through on their accounts at the same time and on the same day. I just found out today, day 4 of my claim, that the fraud department will not put my money back in my account, they don't consider it to be fraud, because they said I wrote this company a check in August and I gave them my info so I have to get my money back from the perpetrators.

So if I write a check to anyone it's basically my fault if they take that information and generate fake checks and take money out of my account. A bank is supposed to guarantee the safety of my info and money. If someone goes to the ATM at midnight with a fake check Chase will cash the check. The check they cashed was not the same format as my checks and the signature was not mine. I've had a Chase account since 2011. I'm closing my account. Chase cannot protect my accounts from fraud.

My husband started banking at Bank First back in 1994 when his company offered direct deposit through it, later it became Bank 4, then Chase. His company stayed with the bank. The problem started when Chase took over. He started getting reverse charges, overdrafts, hold put on his direct deposits. This man was a CPA, taught finance at a local community college, Comptroller of a multi million dollar manufacturer. I remember asking him once when he was auditing a company in Houston, "Why are you counting 2 cent washers?" His reply,[x]"That's why they are a multi million dollar company, honey. They watch everything."

Oh Chase would ALLOW $350.00 for the first 48 hours but everything else was put on hold until Tuesday by noon!! This is a bank that BOAST about satisfied customers but after my husband died in 2010- young, due to short illness. My insurance widow's benefits were paid through Chase. My son came because I was devastated and unable to comprehend anything due to shock. I signed him power of attorney to be able to do everything. I started getting overdraft notices but my bills were on auto pay. My son had to get military leave to come home because he set up the bills to be auto paid so I would not forget because my husband paid all the bills.

My pay was also put into our joint account by direct deposit. There was NO way in hades my account would ever be overdrawn. Fast forward to 2013 the infamous DATA BREACH, I had $68,000.00 UNTOUCHED from my husband's death benefits from a private policy he had taken out at age 30. The policy had originally been for $25,000.00. As he aged and his earning capacity increased he added money at first in $5000. increments but then started at $10,000. increments. The bank "lost" my money and although not much, my interest which they signed with me at 1.5% which comes to $122.40 per year. This is roughly $856.80 since 2010.

Not a lot... the interest is nothing! I could have paid off my house, put it in my retirement account, anything but allowing Chase to "steal" my husband's money he left for me to take care of things. I am quite sure J. P. Morgan did NOT have this in mind when he founded Chase bank! To make matters worse, Chase Mortgage sent me a letter two years after the death of my husband telling me I had 90 days to find a place to live because they found out my husband had died and therefore I was not on the "note"!

Oklahoma is a community property state, even IF this were true, which it was not, I would be entitled to the house by "right of survivorship". This bank is so crooked a snake would break its back trying to follow their convoluted rules. Which change according to whomever you talk to that day. As of this writing I am supposedly on "a list" to be "repaid" by the FDIC, however, there were people who were larger depositors who "lost more money" than I. So sad that this bank is allowed to stay operational. I moved banks to a bank started by Dam Walton in Arkansas. They now have branches in Ar, Ok, Mo, and Ks I think. I know it is four states.

I was never so happy to cut ties with a bank in my life. I even refinanced in 2012 to try to get away from them completely. I asked the facilitators to find someone NOT Chase to take over my mortgage. They did, then about 8 months into my payments they sold HALF their mortgages to Chase! Companies do that to be able to get/have more funds for new mortgages. I loved having a local company to make payments to. I hated that they can sell your mortgage without consulting the mortgagee. This is something we, as consumers, should be consulted about.

Over a month ago I went to request an Uber and my card was immediately declined. I opened my Chase app to see what was wrong and I noticed several charges that weren't mine. The total was over $500. I called Chase and was assured that everything would be taken care of. Here I sit a month later with yet again another story from Chase. But let's go back... About a week after I reported the claim, they refunded me all the money. I received my new debit card in the mail and thought all was good until I received an email from the "Chase back office" and they said that no error occurred and all the refunds would be reversed. I immediately called and was told the reason they closed the investigation on ALL charges was because I didn't report it right away... Mind you the transactions all took place the day of and the day before I called and reported the transactions.

After about the third week the money was all out of my account again, I made several phone calls and emails to the fraud department to re-open the case because they kept closing it for whatever reason. I decided to go into the bank in which I opened my account. I waited for over an hour to meet with a banker. I ended up meeting with the branch manager which was clearly new at her job but anyhow, she told me that all the fraud issues had to be solved either over the phone or through email. She said that there would be no way that she would be able to help me. So as I angrily drove home I called chase fraud department to see if anything had changed. The woman I spoke with told me that Chase customers have up to 60 days to report a fraudulent charge on their account. Again, I reported mine within 24 hours of noticing an issue.

The woman also said that the case has been reopened and I would need to fill out an affidavit (which I have yet to get) and submit that along with a written statement of what exactly happened. After doing all of that I woke up to another email from chase stating that the case has been closed. I called once again and in a roundabout way I understood that Chase never even investigated to see who exactly was using my debit card for the purchases. They pulled no security footage and they never called the merchants to see copies of the credit card receipts. I received another email from Chase stating that the case was closed and that no error occurred. So I called again, they told me they would reopen the case again but it would be best if I filed a police report and contacted the merchants directly.

When I went to file the police report the officer told me that for every 10 debit card fraud reports he does 9 of them are for Chase customers. He also said that only a select few ever get their money back "so do not get your hopes up". Once I got the written statement and the police report I called chase again to see where they wanted it sent. I was told that all of that was unnecessary and that local law enforcement has no business interfering with the chase fraud department investigation. Now remind you, a Chase fraud department employee was the one that told me to file the report.

After that fiasco I started to call each and every merchant and SHOCKER, they wouldn't do anything. They all told me to contact my bank. They also said that they wouldn't release any security footage or copies of receipts without the proper paperwork. And they have yet to receive any of that from chase nor have they even received a phone call. So I called chase again... I was told that I should hear something by early January as to what exactly happened and "hopefully we can refund you your money". I brought up the fact that the merchants said that they haven't heard anything from Chase yet and they immediately placed me on hold and then came back on and said that they would handle it (whatever that means).

The claim still remains open at this time but I am willing to bet that tomorrow when I wake up, I will have an email from Chase stating that no error occurred and that the case is closed. Please learn from my mistake and never EVER open a Chase account or if you have one currently I would recommend closing it and switching to a new bank. They market their checking accounts as zero liability but in reality that's all a front to make you feel safe that all your hard earned money will never be stolen from you as long as you are a Chase customer. LIES!! Once some crazy person gets your account information and starts taking money out of your account Chase just looks the other way. That sounds more like 100% liability.

Upon calling the number you find you have been routed out of the country to the Philippines people who literally sit and repeat the same inane endless words of scripted junk stating they can't help and the receipt means nothing to them.

Upon calling the bank you are met by rude in individuals who don't even express customer care in the least bit, sad actually. They find it's a non Chase card and get rude. Hey you charged me three dollars at the ATM, guess what - I am now a Chase customer for that matter. I mention I have two Chase checking accounts to which I am met with back peddling and trying to seem at least a bit softer but too late. You already showed your hand of cards. I do not recommend this bank to anyone unless you like being treated like garbage and routed overseas for your bank account. In life money matters, go ahead put your life savings in another countries incompetent hands so nobody has to take responsibility! I do not have trust for Chase nor feel my money is in good hands, complete loss of respect. I am in the middle of a move cross country and as soon as I get to CA I am switching my accounts to Navy Federal Credit Union (customer service stateside).

I unfortunately have been a victim of receiving fraudulent checks which was part of an elaborate banking scam. However, I did not have that information upon depositing the bad check into my business checking account. I contacted Chase once the first check bounced, and they provided little to no information as to why it bounced. Prior to that, the fraudulent check showed up as a credit and as ‘available funds’ in my business checking account. I went ahead and used that money to pay vendors, bills, etc. Three days later the check comes back as not cleared/bounced. I called Chase customer service and they provided little to no explanation as to why the check was denied payment (issuer's bank was from PNC Bank).

In the meantime I received another (fraudulent) check from same issuer, went ahead to deposit, and 2 days later, the same thing happened. Now the PNC account is closed. All I am asking from Chase to reimburse me for the money I thought I had in my account and spent to pay bills, not for the entire amount of the 2 bad checks that were deposited. It's only $2400.

For a billion-dollar banking institution, you would think they would be sympathetic to a very small business owner who was a victim of a crime, and also a very long-standing customer of Chase (30 years, I have a personal checking account & mortgage with them as well) that they would be willing to help me out to re-coup the $2400 that I thought I could spend because the bad check deposits were showing up as a credit or available funds. But, sadly, no, they threw up their arms saying there is nothing we can do to help you. They admit that it cleared their check-cashing process, but are denying any blame in presenting misleading information in my online banking ledger. So, in the end it's my fault that I'm out the $2400, and sorry that this happened.

I expect more from a bank, but I've been pretty disappointed with Chase in the past with other banking fraud on my personal account. I did speak to a rep at PNC Bank, they said I can file a check fraud dispute claim which will force both banks to talk to each other. Sad that I have to talk to the issuer's bank to get more of a resolution that I got with Chase. Bottom line, if you're a small business owner, don't open an account with Chase. PNC Bank seems to be more small business-friendly and willing to help out a small business owner who was victim of a banking crime. Stay away from Chase. They are not interested in customer satisfaction.

Even after admitting it was their negligence. Now I have to apply for a new check which will take 15 days. I am 64, disabled from birth, and have no one to help me. Lo and behold I received $200 (they had practiced high to low payment a few times on my account) in refunds from JP Morgan Chase! It took a threatening letter to the company and it was resolved fast! Thank you JP.

    Original Review: Nov. 1, 2017

JP Morgan Chase is still practicing the "high to low" payment of ACH payments. What this means is Chase can make more money in overdraft fees by performing this unethical practice. For example, I had $160 in account with three payments coming in. A 40, 100, and a $175. There was enough to clear the 40 and the 100, meaning only 1 overdraft should have been levied against my account. By Chase performing the unethical high to low payment, the $175 payment first caused a negative balance for two more insufficient payments giving Chase reasoning to charge 3 overdraft fees instead of 1. After complaining they refused to reverse. In Bodnar vs Bank Of America, a 2011 class action lawsuit with precedence to the above subject matter BOA lost and had to pay account holders 27 million. Any lawyers or stakeholders interested?

The mistakes they have made over the years were some significant blunders, however nothing compares to the past year. I have been blatantly lied to multiple times by several representatives on matters pertaining to my personal and business account. When addressing the lies with management they took zero accountability each time and made no efforts to reconcile my complaints or on-going concerns. What's more, the bank increased fees without notifying me and this too was supposedly my fault because I opted for paperless - they email me junk every day so why not such an important document? Chase is absolutely useless. Unfortunately I must visit a Chase branch in order to close my accounts. All in due time. It’s time for traditional banking to retire! I certainly look forward to the days of digital banking.

I've been I client of your bank for 10 years. I almost got my mortgage from you and my credit is over 750. I used to have a business account and a personal account with you and I still have some investment there. I have a great job, pay taxes and don't have any police report. I year ago my computer was victim of a hacker and the people got all my information. I found out about this, because they took 5,000 dollars for my personal account, supposedly using my debit card in Benny's jewelry. I called immediately to the bank, after receiving a mail, saying I never did that transaction. Filled up the corresponding papers. (The bank page is bad, so when I clicked on option, it selected another, but I was so upset that sent the option saying: I never received the card, which of course was wrong, because when I called I explained I did.)

Anyways, after my personal account the hacker kept stealing now on my business account and they ended up getting more than 30,000. It was the same bank that told me to open a new account and I followed all their advice. After a year, I still don't get all the money back. I paid an insurance against fraud, I have my record clean, I sent the police report with the pictures of the people who went to the jewelry store and they say they won't give back my money. I moved my money to another bank. I canceled the mortgage and I have to start with a new bank which at least keeps my money saved. I am so upset, it made me pass for a very stressful experience, and when people ask me about Chase, I say: Don't do it. They are not secure, and worst than that: "They don't trust you and when they do a mistake, they don't give your money back." Worst experience in the bank that I trusted my money.

I have been with Chase for over 7 years now. That's a long time to be loyal to a bank that doesn't truly VALUE me a customer. I never receive any offers to make me a "better part of Chase." Last year I was looking to boost my credit and become a more responsible consumer by better managing my credit. I applied for a credit card and they declined me. I was like, ok??? That sucks!!!

I had been with this bank so long and I have never been a problem customer. So, why decline me? I guess it was due to credit which "Duuhh!!!" is why I am trying to apply for a credit card to increase my credit score. I guess they didn't want to take a chance on me as a "valued" customer. So I went to Wells Fargo, a bank I don't bank with, to apply for a secured credit card.

Strangely is something Chase doesn't offer "which is so stupid" and got approved for a credit card. I also needed to get out-of-a lemon of a car that I had at that time with no payments, and asked for a car loan from Chase, you know, the bank, I bank with, and they declined me. I was like "wow guys" it was only for under $14,000 but still they didn't see any "value" in me as a good customer that had been banking with them for so many years.

I ended up going to Enterprise and got a 2015 Chrysler and with a loan that had a very high interest rate. I didn't care I was out of that car... pheewww!!! Anywho, I was happy and I started building my credit. Fast forward almost a year later boosted my credit score almost 100 points. I paid my credit card bill 2x's a month, I paid my car note early every month and I was like killing the credit management thing, not missing any payments.

I was a responsible person in this world now... I currently decided that I wanted to get a new car because my family is getting bigger (baby girl due in Jan 2018, making this family, a family of 6 now) and I need a bigger vehicle. After all the hard work I had been doing to boost my credit, I thought that Chase would see my efforts and would like to consider me as a "valued" customer and take a chance on me and give me a car loan, this time for doubled the amount.

Well to my surprise.. no! I was declined again. I just fell like I'm a loser to this company or something because I can't believe that I have been so loyal for so long and this bank "still" will not see me as an asset. However, my conclusion is that this bank does not care truly for its long term customers, or how to turn their customers into better customers. It sucks, but now I am considering researching a bank that actually "value" their loyal customers and want to see them become better customers, and just better people overall. Chase you suck at valuing your customers!!

Recently my account was overdrawn by about $20. Chase's policy is to give you until midnight to put money in your account to not get an overdraft fee. I had a family member quick pay me some money and that money went through at 10:14 PM. I went to sleep and thought nothing of it. When I woke up I had a $35 overdraft fee because I was told the cut off point is now 10 PM. When I called to try to rectify this they were using one of three overdraft returns they allow a person per year. This was not satisfactory to me. I don't believe I should've been penalized at all. Chase is misleading about their policies and I believe they purposely withhold funds so they can collect these overdraft fees.

Course I don't have the money to hire a lawyer to go into this issue. But I am happy I can write about it here. And this from the same industry that was bailed out by the taxpayers. Yet they can't bail me out for 14 minutes. I have had countless issues just like this. What an awful corporation. The care is absolutely nothing about the people that give them all the money that they have. My sincere hope is that the people of the United States will get together and withdraw all their money at one time from Chase in the awful corporations like Chase. And be smart enough to start our own kind of bank. Chase shame on you. You are disgusting and awful. I was not on those addresses ever and they were showing in my record. I asked to remove those addresses and second thing I pay attention to day of my birth. For that they say, "Do not worry about it much. We only report month and year to companies not the day."

Now I have credit balance on account asking them to release from three month to any of my checking account they have on file. But they are not releasing my credit balance. Every time they said they will call me and they do not. When I asked the company what the price of their product was they wouldn't just answer me so I told them I wanted nothing to do with their company or product and not to contact me again. Also that I would be leaving France and flying to Spain Sunday morning. REP #1 PROMISED delivery of a replacement card within 24 hours. Late Saturday night... NO CARD! Called REP #2. The dumbest person I have ever encountered!! She explained the card was scheduled to arrive Mon night (more than 72 hours after I first called). I told her I was flying to Spain the next morning WITH A CHILD, NO MONEY, AND NO CREDIT CARD. She offered to mail a new card to Spain, but said it could take 5 days to arrive. We were only staying 6 days, so I said no to that, feeling it would not arrive. Her final advice was for extend our stay in France Sun & Mon until the card arrived. I explained that would cost at least $1000. She was "sorry". Yes, she was!!!

I asked what would happen to the card mailed to France. She said if signature was required, it would just be returned to them. If it wasn't, whomever was at the hotel would have it. She didn't know if it would require signature??? They would cancel that card number. Against her brilliant recommendation, we went to Spain as planned. Fast forward to the following Friday, we returned to the US. I called Chase... REP #3 who said the France hotel called and had the card. He said it was canceled since it was not in my possession. He promised delivery of yet another card in 24 hours. It didn't come... LOL. I received emails and discovered that card #2 and card #3 had the same account number. The one sent to France was NOT canceled as both reps said would/did happen.

On Sunday, I called REP #4 who verified they had only mailed a duplicate card. She said that was a mistake on their end. At this point, I was VERY upset. The best she could do was promise delivery of yet another card that would be mailed "expedited shipping" on Monday (tomorrow), but may take up to 3 DAYS TO GET. It is coming from a neighboring stat. A USPS regular 49 cent stamp would get it here in 2 days!!!! So... By Friday, maybe I will have a credit card... 2 WEEKS after reporting it stolen!!!

The worst customer service on earth! I had a child in a foreign country that luckily I fed by ordering take out using PayPal! Otherwise, we would have gone without 4 or 5 meals while my husband wire transferred money to us in Spain! PayPal and Uber provided transportation, thankfully! She then, says in a rude tone, she cannot cash the check because I am not a Chase customer. I told her that has not been a problem before. The teller looked confused for a moment and then holds my driver's license up and says, Hmmm... your I.D. looks like might have been altered". She then runs my check through a machine that printed a bunch of codes with the words, "endorsement canceled" and says the system flagged my check as "potential fraud". At this point, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Kristin, finally comes to the teller station and was also very rude and condescending and says, "No, we cannot cash it." I asked them to please call the Chase customer to verify the check but, she refused to. They could have easily called for verification as other banks have done before.

So, first the reason was that I'm not a Chase customer. Then, the reason was because of potential fraud, and to top it off, they printed a red flag on the back of my hard earned check making it impossible for me to cash at my own bank! I had a hard time depositing it as my bank put a hold on it because of this nonsense at Chase. This was a horrible experience being disrespected by these rude and condescending employees.

You won't be happy with the outcome! BTW, I ended up with these fools having my mortgage because COMPASS BANK sold it to them. I don't even know why Compass is still doing business but that's another review.

CHASE refuses to acknowledge, apologize, or compensate a 15+ year customer for all the frustration and hassle the customer, ME, went through. My answer to them? I don't use their products anymore and if there was a way, I would move my mortgage somewhere else but the Feds removed that ability from us. Go get an American Express card that offers 6% cashback on groceries up to $6000, 3% at gas stations and department stores no cap, 1 % everywhere else. Yes not EVERY place takes it but AMEX has great customer service and cashback is all year long versus having to opt in every quarter. This institution has gotten way too big and since they participated in TARP bailout, they think they are absolutely bulletproof, and unfortunately seems they are. Only the customers can get rid of them by getting rid of their products and boycotting that git, Jamie Money-monger Dimon and his cronies.

Liz and Sheena with Chase Bank Customer Service were extremely unhelpful in resolving an issue of a Lost Card. Liz completely refused to report the card lost even after the customer informed her that it was. Chase Bank refused to help. They leave it up to the customer to fix their problems. Chase Bank Customer Service is the type of establishment people are talking about when they mention how bad customer service has become in the banking industry. JP Morgan is by far one of the worst financial institutes in America today.

I've been a Chase customer for over 2 years now and everything was good at first until this year. MANY things started going downhill. First of all I MUST advice that even if your paycheck has funds, that doesn't mean your funds will be available immediately. That's a common process and the funds are usually available the next day. I get pay every Friday bi-weekly so I have the habit of depositing my paycheck the next day Saturday morning because normally the funds are available the same day which is fine. But all the sudden it has backfired. Is out of random chance that from now on they decide when to let go of your funds. In my case for example it won't be available until the 11th of October and deposited today October 7th Saturday morning.

What is more upsetting is when the customer service LIES into your face by saying that if you deposit money on a Saturday is not available right away which is a HUGE ** LIE!!! If that was true, I would of not ever deposited all my other checks on a Saturday morning. My bosses have CHASE as their primary bank for their small business so they a being a Chase regular customer and getting pay with a Chase check DON'T MEAN **. Anyways I am done with this Bank. As soon as my funds are available I'm moving on to another bank. This is the 7th time this happens to me.

Has anyone with multiple accounts, mixed personal and business accounts, experienced cross overs of the data? Example, a signer on a credit card for a business account has their personal checking account tied to the online platform. Another example, my business partner's personal debit card transactions started text messaging me (out of the blue) his personal transaction records, on my cell phone. Chase seems to have a MAJOR problem on their hands, and it seems like no one is paying attention.

After rushing to the ATM when I got off work at 11 o’clock at night To make a deposit and put my account in good standings I then wake up the next morning to two overdraft fees because it was 11:10. Last time I tried moving money over and received overdraft fees they told me it was because it didn’t hit until 2 o’clock in the morning and midnight was the cut-off. All of their rules seem to change often on when cutoffs are for money deposits. I also have an ATM receipt showing me last night that I had a positive available balance and present balance yet they still decided to charge me the fees. I don’t recommend Chase Bank because they will steal your money at any chance they can get.

I did NOT choose Chase. I don't bank with them locally, I don't finance loans or mortgages with them (because they suck). But yet, my loans get sold to Chase. And then I'm forced to do business (for uh, 30 years) with a soul-crushing company that cannot be bothered to pick up the damn phone. It's ridiculous that if you are to request a pay-off so that you no longer have to do business with this awful bank that you must get it by fax or snail mail. Then you can only mail in a check or do a wire transfer. What is this 1990?

This bank has turned into a nightmare! My wife got a new job and they let her first check go through no problem. So Friday she got her 2ND check and we deposited it as usual. Each day the money wasn't there. We were getting worried. Come to find out they put a 2-week hold on it so now all my bills coming through are getting NSF fees and why? Because THEY decided to put a hold on it! The "loss prevention people" are very hard to understand and are less than sympathetic.

After having all of our business and personal banking accounts with Chase, and even making the transition once they acquired Bank One we have had enough. They keep changing their policies on fees, and overdraft coverage and fee reversal. After speaking with three customer service representatives and supervisors this morning we've had enough. I was told different information by three different people, told different times and charged a $67.42 overdraft fee for a $10.00 charge. Yet there was $50 in my account. After this and their blatant lack of customer service, we will be closing all of our personal accounts (4) and all of our business accounts (2). I will gladly take our banking business and investments to their competitor.

I'm fairly new with Chase. I would say about less than a year. I recently had someone try to use my card in another state so of course I get an email from Chase or text asking if I authorized this. I said no. During this time I went into the branch to do a name change and get a temporary card while my new card came in the mail. Well every time I tried to use my temporary card at the atm it would advise, "Please call customer service". Which customer service would say it was the machine. Then I would go to a different machine and it would advise of the same issue. Then they would transfer me to their fraud department. I would have to do their system verification with a call which is annoying and a lengthy process. Come to find out I couldn't take out money every time with that card because the system flagged it as a warning that it may be fraudulent.

I was so tired of this after a week, having to call this bank every other day. Each time they had to remove the flag. So I was fairly pleased when I received a new card. For starters new card had my maiden last name on it. And every other merchant went to would decline my card. Embarrassing having people tell me every time like at Target and the 99 cent store telling me, "Sorry ma'am the card was declined". I have money in there. Otherwise I wouldn't be buying stuff.

Here I went for another week calling the bank. Saying, "Again!! It's the machine", I told the representatives, "How could it be the merchant's machine when I just saw a Chase customer use their card and 7 other people on that machine I just used." Back to the fraud department they sent me. Once again her. I had to do phone verification and was advised that the system flags possible fraud. I told them I don't understand. For starters this didn't happen with my first card. And they said that the card doesn't recognize the merchant yet. That just sounds stupid.

So at this point I needed to have them issue me another card because of my name change and the lady said I could use the same card number just will issue the card with my new last name, then a week went by no card came. Come to find out the system wasn't updated and I can't have the same card number, they were going to have to issue me a completely new card. So at this time I've invested two weeks of a headache. I don't want to have to go through the same issues with another card.

I get that you want to protect my identity but I can't even enjoy using my card. So this is just a bad customer experience. And all I get is, "I am sorry for all your trouble". So I am just going to have to consider a different bank. Chase let me down after I had hear so many positive things about them. And maybe this is just my experience. But word of mouth is a powerful weapon and people I know now do not want to bank with Chase. And neither do I.

Teller at Pico & La Ceinga Blvd branch - File a complaint on the teller and there is 2 other teller was working. A female Hispanics teller help me a month ago. I wrote a huge letter in the withdraw slip. I refuse to rewrite it to fix in the box and neat. I rewrite it again, I ask for all pennies, dimes, nickels and quarter as she was being rude to me as well. As she ready to count the coin for me. I decide to deposit my withdrawal to redeposit it. She state I took the coin that I didn't touch. She would provide me service. I have to wait for minutes for a manager to help me withdraw the funds I came in for. Also say manager on duty. I reply there is another assistant on duty. I file a complaint to all 3 tellers.

Today 9/27/17 I went back to the same Chase branch. She remember no teller want to help me, skip me, call senior teller to wait for the manager to assist me. While I call Chase Call Center Manager to file a complaint. All the teller was socializing and don't want to help me. The same manager on duty give me option to take money from the ATM machines. Which I don't want to because it can't give coins. Very bad customer service. Or refuse me to complete my transaction slip. Have to stay 30 minutes and not get exactly money I came in for. No punishment to the teller.

Seems things are getting worse with Chase. I just recently deposit a check at the ATM because it's more than the amount allowed through my phone. $200 was available right away, the rest has a 2-day hold. No problem. Two days later I got an email and also a letter saying they changed the hold to now 9 days... OK, I can wait, but at be honest first instead of two days later changing it... note this is a check from the same person I had in the, no issue before, just now. Second, I tried to use my Chase card with an online shop I used in the past a few times with no issues. They blocked it and called me to unblock so I can use it again or in the near future.

Today I order from the same shop again. Guess what, blocked again. Got a missed call with the same heavy Indian accents from the last time that claim to have fixed the issue. Now asking me to call back to have the block remove... What a waste of time and effort. Do they block so much now and make you waste your time calling in for nothing??? Their online message respond is just copy & paste and for sure not read the message at all to begin with. No help at all. Total waste of time and so useless!!!
