Contacted them about a month ago about unauthorized use of my card by an ex. They assured me that there would be no more problems. However this month's statement had more charges that were associated with my ex. Bottom line is I had to pay for the charges. I have since cancelled the card. Stay away!

I went to the ATM per usual to remove money from my non Chase account to put into one of my two Chase checking accounts. Hwy 54 Peachtree City, GA. The amount I was withdrawing was $500 for which they charged me three dollars in total. $503 was removed from my account however the ATM never dispersed the money. It sat making noise for nearly two minutes before spitting out a receipt with a useless phone number for you to call. Upon calling the number you find you have been routed out of the country to the Philippines people who literally sit and repeat the same inane endless words of scripted junk stating they can't help and the receipt means nothing to them.
Upon calling the bank you are met by rude in individuals who don't even express customer care in the least bit, sad actually. They find it's a non Chase card and get rude. Hey you charged me three dollars at the ATM, guess what - I am now a Chase customer for that matter. I mention I have two Chase checking accounts to which I am met with back peddling and trying to seem at least a bit softer but too late. You already showed your hand of cards. I do not recommend this bank to anyone unless you like being treated like garbage and routed overseas for your bank account. In life money matters, go ahead put your life savings in another countries incompetent hands so nobody has to take responsibility! I do not have trust for Chase nor feel my money is in good hands, complete loss of respect. I am in the middle of a move cross country and as soon as I get to CA I am switching my accounts to Navy Federal Credit Union (customer service stateside).

I unfortunately have been a victim of receiving fraudulent checks which was part of an elaborate banking scam. However, I did not have that information upon depositing the bad check into my business checking account. I contacted Chase once the first check bounced, and they provided little to no information as to why it bounced. Prior to that, the fraudulent check showed up as a credit and as ‘available funds’ in my business checking account. I went ahead and used that money to pay vendors, bills, etc. Three days later the check comes back as not cleared/bounced. I called Chase customer service and they provided little to no explanation as to why the check was denied payment (issuer's bank was from PNC Bank).
In the meantime I received another (fraudulent) check from same issuer, went ahead to deposit, and 2 days later, the same thing happened. Now the PNC account is closed. All I am asking from Chase to reimburse me for the money I thought I had in my account and spent to pay bills, not for the entire amount of the 2 bad checks that were deposited. It's only $2400.
For a billion-dollar banking institution, you would think they would be sympathetic to a very small business owner who was a victim of a crime, and also a very long-standing customer of Chase (30 years, I have a personal checking account & mortgage with them as well) that they would be willing to help me out to re-coup the $2400 that I thought I could spend because the bad check deposits were showing up as a credit or available funds. But, sadly, no, they threw up their arms saying there is nothing we can do to help you. They admit that it cleared their check-cashing process, but are denying any blame in presenting misleading information in my online banking ledger. So, in the end it's my fault that I'm out the $2400, and sorry that this happened.
I expect more from a bank, but I've been pretty disappointed with Chase in the past with other banking fraud on my personal account. I did speak to a rep at PNC Bank, they said I can file a check fraud dispute claim which will force both banks to talk to each other. Sad that I have to talk to the issuer's bank to get more of a resolution that I got with Chase. Bottom line, if you're a small business owner, don't open an account with Chase. PNC Bank seems to be more small business-friendly and willing to help out a small business owner who was victim of a banking crime. Stay away from Chase. They are not interested in customer satisfaction.

Worst service of any bank I've ever used! They sent my social security check back. Because their banker did not transfer my direct deposit after I had to close my account and open a new one due to fraud on my old account. Then they would do nothing to help me. Even after admitting it was their negligence. Now I have to apply for a new check which will take 15 days. I am 64, disabled from birth, and have no one to help me. They could have at least given me a line of credit to use to buy food and gas to get to my cancer treatment. Heartless, irresponsible.

Lo and behold I received $200 (they had practiced high to low payment a few times on my account) in refunds from JP Morgan Chase! It took a threatening letter to the company and it was resolved fast! Thank you JP.
Original Review: Nov. 1, 2017
JP Morgan Chase is still practicing the "high to low" payment of ACH payments. What this means is Chase can make more money in overdraft fees by performing this unethical practice. For example, I had $160 in account with three payments coming in. A 40, 100, and a $175. There was enough to clear the 40 and the 100, meaning only 1 overdraft should have been levied against my account. By Chase performing the unethical high to low payment, the $175 payment first caused a negative balance for two more insufficient payments giving Chase reasoning to charge 3 overdraft fees instead of 1. After complaining they refused to reverse. In Bodnar vs Bank Of America, a 2011 class action lawsuit with precedence to the above subject matter BOA lost and had to pay account holders 27 million. Any lawyers or stakeholders interested?

I have held personal and business accounts with JP Morgan Chase for over 11 years now. The mistakes they have made over the years were some significant blunders, however nothing compares to the past year. I have been blatantly lied to multiple times by several representatives on matters pertaining to my personal and business account. When addressing the lies with management they took zero accountability each time and made no efforts to reconcile my complaints or on-going concerns. What's more, the bank increased fees without notifying me and this too was supposedly my fault because I opted for paperless - they email me junk every day so why not such an important document? Chase is absolutely useless. Unfortunately I must visit a Chase branch in order to close my accounts. All in due time. It’s time for traditional banking to retire! I certainly look forward to the days of digital banking.

Tried to log in online but was suspended and they called me to verify QuickPay Zelle activity. After verifying it was me they reactivated my account, ten minutes later tried to log in and again it was suspended, no fraud activity, not overdrawn or negative on my account. Chase decided that since I transfer money to my other bank institution and I hurt their feeling they decided to permanently end relationship with me, let me remind you that department from non English people close my account not Americans lol, the fraud department didn’t close out my account, QuickPay/ bill pay department close my account lol, Chase butt hurted when use QuickPay/Zelle to my other bank institution, don’t bank with Chase. I've been I client of your bank for 10 years. I almost got my mortgage from you and my credit is over 750. I used to have a business account and a personal account with you and I still have some investment there. I have a great job, pay taxes and don't have any police report. I year ago my computer was victim of a hacker and the people got all my information. I found out about this, because they took 5,000 dollars for my personal account, supposedly using my debit card in Benny's jewelry. I called immediately to the bank, after receiving a mail, saying I never did that transaction. Filled up the corresponding papers. (The bank page is bad, so when I clicked on option, it selected another, but I was so upset that sent the option saying: I never received the card, which of course was wrong, because when I called I explained I did.)
Anyways, after my personal account the hacker kept stealing now on my business account and they ended up getting more than 30,000. It was the same bank that told me to open a new account and I followed all their advice. After a year, I still don't get all the money back. I paid an insurance against fraud, I have my record clean, I sent the police report with the pictures of the people who went to the jewelry store and they say they won't give back my money. I moved my money to another bank. I canceled the mortgage and I have to start with a new bank which at least keeps my money saved. I am so upset, it made me pass for a very stressful experience, and when people ask me about Chase, I say: Don't do it. They are not secure, and worst than that: "They don't trust you and when they do a mistake, they don't give your money back." Worst experience in the bank that I trusted my money.

I have been with Chase for over 7 years now. That's a long time to be loyal to a bank that doesn't truly VALUE me a customer. I never receive any offers to make me a "better part of Chase." Last year I was looking to boost my credit and become a more responsible consumer by better managing my credit. I applied for a credit card and they declined me. I was like, ok??? That sucks!!!
I had been with this bank so long and I have never been a problem customer. So, why decline me? I guess it was due to credit which "Duuhh!!!" is why I am trying to apply for a credit card to increase my credit score. I guess they didn't want to take a chance on me as a "valued" customer. So I went to Wells Fargo, a bank I don't bank with, to apply for a secured credit card.
Strangely is something Chase doesn't offer "which is so stupid" and got approved for a credit card. I also needed to get out-of-a lemon of a car that I had at that time with no payments, and asked for a car loan from Chase, you know, the bank, I bank with, and they declined me. I was like "wow guys" it was only for under $14,000 but still they didn't see any "value" in me as a good customer that had been banking with them for so many years.
I ended up going to Enterprise and got a 2015 Chrysler and with a loan that had a very high interest rate. I didn't care I was out of that car... pheewww!!! Anywho, I was happy and I started building my credit. Fast forward almost a year later boosted my credit score almost 100 points. I paid my credit card bill 2x's a month, I paid my car note early every month and I was like killing the credit management thing, not missing any payments.
I was a responsible person in this world now... I currently decided that I wanted to get a new car because my family is getting bigger (baby girl due in Jan 2018, making this family, a family of 6 now) and I need a bigger vehicle. After all the hard work I had been doing to boost my credit, I thought that Chase would see my efforts and would like to consider me as a "valued" customer and take a chance on me and give me a car loan, this time for doubled the amount.
Well to my surprise.. no! I was declined again. I just fell like I'm a loser to this company or something because I can't believe that I have been so loyal for so long and this bank "still" will not see me as an asset. However, my conclusion is that this bank does not care truly for its long term customers, or how to turn their customers into better customers. It sucks, but now I am considering researching a bank that actually "value" their loyal customers and want to see them become better customers, and just better people overall. Chase you suck at valuing your customers!!

Recently my account was overdrawn by about $20. Chase's policy is to give you until midnight to put money in your account to not get an overdraft fee. I had a family member quick pay me some money and that money went through at 10:14 PM. I went to sleep and thought nothing of it. When I woke up I had a $35 overdraft fee because I was told the cut off point is now 10 PM. When I called to try to rectify this they were using one of three overdraft returns they allow a person per year. This was not satisfactory to me. I don't believe I should've been penalized at all. Chase is misleading about their policies and I believe they purposely withhold funds so they can collect these overdraft fees.
Course I don't have the money to hire a lawyer to go into this issue. But I am happy I can write about it here. And this from the same industry that was bailed out by the taxpayers. Yet they can't bail me out for 14 minutes. I have had countless issues just like this. What an awful corporation. The care is absolutely nothing about the people that give them all the money that they have. My sincere hope is that the people of the United States will get together and withdraw all their money at one time from Chase in the awful corporations like Chase. And be smart enough to start our own kind of bank. Chase shame on you. You are disgusting and awful. Certain industries such as the banking industry and health industry should absolutely not be for profit.

I am a Chase customer since 2011. In July I try to use Chase pay service online. My order was not going through and I call Chase. Here they asked me few questions. I answer and they said, "We are not able to recognize you as account holder." Now I checked my credit report there was two addresses. I was not on those addresses ever and they were showing in my record. I asked to remove those addresses and second thing I pay attention to day of my birth. For that they say, "Do not worry about it much. We only report month and year to companies not the day."
Now I have credit balance on account asking them to release from three month to any of my checking account they have on file. But they are not releasing my credit balance. Every time they said they will call me and they do not. So I think I have to forget my 21,61 dollars forever because when I ask them to send any documentation to prove my identification they refuse by saying, "We cannot do that." Neither they can email me. They just kept me frustrating.

I went negative in my account and had my husband quick pay me the money once I noticed I was negative 15$. I then checked my account and saw the money cleared the negative. I woke up to a negative 119.00 in straight overdraft fees. When I called they told me that after 10 PM the quick pay won't clear so I got charged 34 $ for 3 5$ charges. I called and I was told there is nothing we can do about it. They told me that even though it reflects on my balance it hasn't posted. So why are you telling me I have funds when I don't? What's the point of mobile banking? If the information provided is false I got stuck paying overdraft fees that I can't afford. Now I'm short on my rent cause of this and I was very responsible and made sure I was in positive before going to bed. I hate Chase. Never again will I ever bank with them. Switching my bank.

Just found a $215 withdrawal from one of my Chase accounts. When I called they said it was for some account that got overdrawn 2 1/2 years ago! And that they had the right to take my money any time. Just exercised my right to close all my Chase accounts. They claim they called numerous times. I asked if they ever left a message and they said they don't leave messages. Well then how do I know you called?? Wow. They could have emailed, left a voice message, messaged me through their own secure message center, or sent me a letter. They did none of those things. It's unbelievable, how Chase Bank is running the business. I work for a financial service company, non-bank company. I went to Chase to open a joint bank account. I wanted a joint bank account to provide as a married evidence for the immigration interview. I hold a work permit (called Combo Card). The banker said I cannot open an account with Chase because I don't have a green card, I am not an American resident. I said, "OK, no problem. Can you provide me a refusal letter and tell the reasons what you said to me on the letter why I am not qualified?" He walked to talk to his boss (I guess) and then came back and said he cannot provide any documents.
I said the company should have a document to explain initial requirements when a customer wants to apply for a new account or credit card. Surprisingly, this company doesn't have anything for their customers! Unprofessional at all. Discriminate against status. He tried to say about the company prevents illegal activity. This is not the way you prevent money laundering, drug trafficking, human trafficking... This company is a joke!! LOL

I disputed a charge from a disreputable company. Initially Chase refunded the money but said they would investigate. This was from a supposed free trial I got online. At no time did I agree to buy anything or join anything. I paid for the postage. When I asked the company what the price of their product was they wouldn't just answer me so I told them I wanted nothing to do with their company or product and not to contact me again. A week later they charged my card $89 and sent me overdrawn. All of this is on my email.
I never heard from Chase as they investigated this until they said they found in favor of the company and were going to debit my account. I then contacted them and they asked for copies of my correspondence with this company... which I had to waste a lot of time printing and then faxing. They still found in favor of the company despite the fact I clearly stated a week prior to the charge that I didn't want their product. So a company... Rapid Ageless... has stolen my money in a very underhanded way and Chase has allowed it to happen. I will be closing my account with them as I have absolutely no confidence in the safety of my hard earned cash with this bank.

I am a female US citizen robbed while traveling in France with my 11-year-old daughter. I called to cancel my card on Friday. I explained that I had less than $100 and no backup credit card. Also that I would be leaving France and flying to Spain Sunday morning. REP #1 PROMISED delivery of a replacement card within 24 hours. Late Saturday night... NO CARD! Called REP #2. The dumbest person I have ever encountered!! She explained the card was scheduled to arrive Mon night (more than 72 hours after I first called). I told her I was flying to Spain the next morning WITH A CHILD, NO MONEY, AND NO CREDIT CARD. She offered to mail a new card to Spain, but said it could take 5 days to arrive. We were only staying 6 days, so I said no to that, feeling it would not arrive. Her final advice was for extend our stay in France Sun & Mon until the card arrived. I explained that would cost at least $1000. She was "sorry". Yes, she was!!!
I asked what would happen to the card mailed to France. She said if signature was required, it would just be returned to them. If it wasn't, whomever was at the hotel would have it. She didn't know if it would require signature??? They would cancel that card number. Against her brilliant recommendation, we went to Spain as planned. Fast forward to the following Friday, we returned to the US. I called Chase... REP #3 who said the France hotel called and had the card. He said it was canceled since it was not in my possession. He promised delivery of yet another card in 24 hours. It didn't come... LOL. I received emails and discovered that card #2 and card #3 had the same account number. The one sent to France was NOT canceled as both reps said would/did happen.
On Sunday, I called REP #4 who verified they had only mailed a duplicate card. She said that was a mistake on their end. At this point, I was VERY upset. The best she could do was promise delivery of yet another card that would be mailed "expedited shipping" on Monday (tomorrow), but may take up to 3 DAYS TO GET. It is coming from a neighboring stat. A USPS regular 49 cent stamp would get it here in 2 days!!!! So... By Friday, maybe I will have a credit card... 2 WEEKS after reporting it stolen!!!
The worst customer service on earth! I had a child in a foreign country that luckily I fed by ordering take out using PayPal! Otherwise, we would have gone without 4 or 5 meals while my husband wire transferred money to us in Spain! PayPal and Uber provided transportation, thankfully! Unbelievably low levels of intellect in all 4 of these people! BTW, I pay $59 year for this card. I've had it over 20 years. I use it to earn air miles on Southwest. Reconsidering my options!!!

Approximately 1 month ago I lost my debit card while out shopping, I realized that when I got home. I tried numerous times to call the bank to cancel the card, I tried for about 45 minutes without ever getting anyone. I went directly to the bank and was told to call the 800 number. They have a total of 2 bankers working and they were both busy. I came home and finally got through to the 800 number to cancel the card. This experience left me so disgusted with their customer service that I went to the bank to close my account. They wanted to charge me to write me a check so I went to my new bank and wrote the check for the remaining amount in my account. They knew I wanted to close the account. I left a zero balance.
Now I get an alert from Chase that my account is overdrawn (I'm not using it) and they are charging me $6.00. I have to make another trip to the bank to tell them to officially close the account, you can't do it online or on the phone. Of course the 2 bankers are busy and I'm told to either make an appointment and close the account or go to another location. This will be my fourth trip to try to take care of this. They have no bankers available to help you and their customer service stinks. I will never use CHASE again. Yesterday, I picked up my usual check from a well known contractor, who uses Chase, and then, went to a local branch here in Naples, FL on Pine Ridge and Airport Rd. to cash it. At the teller station, I signed the check (in front of her) and along with giving 3 different forms of I.D. and asked her to please cash it very politely.
She then, says in a rude tone, she cannot cash the check because I am not a Chase customer. I told her that has not been a problem before. The teller looked confused for a moment and then holds my driver's license up and says, Hmmm... your I.D. looks like might have been altered". I said, "Well, my driver's license is a little worn out from the many years but, readable and valid form of I.D. plus I have other forms of I.D. here for you?"
She then runs my check through a machine that printed a bunch of codes with the words, "endorsement canceled" and says the system flagged my check as "potential fraud". At this point, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Kristin, finally comes to the teller station and was also very rude and condescending and says, "No, we cannot cash it." I asked them to please call the Chase customer to verify the check but, she refused to. They could have easily called for verification as other banks have done before.
So, first the reason was that I'm not a Chase customer. Then, the reason was because of potential fraud, and to top it off, they printed a red flag on the back of my hard earned check making it impossible for me to cash at my own bank! I had a hard time depositing it as my bank put a hold on it because of this nonsense at Chase. This was a horrible experience being disrespected by these rude and condescending employees.
As a former Chase Bank customer. This is normal, rude customer service and getting the runaround and different, made up stories depending on who you talk to. At one time in the past Chase was a good, customer oriented banking institution HOWEVER, not anymore! Despite the fact that a number of years ago they attempted to raise my fixed interest rate from 7.99% to 29.9% variable. A simple letter to The Comptroller of The Currency took care of that... I still have a fixed 7.99% rate on my credit card (although I never use it anymore). Now their customer service has hit the bottom of the dark deep pits of Hades. Their IT/Web department is an absolute joke and their customer reps and all their canned answers are worthless. If you keep on raising cane, you get to talk to "The Executive Office," let me change that to ARGUE with the Executive Office... And I'm talking simple issues that they absolutely refused for months to correct telling ME it was my fault and my computer and blah, blah, blah.
After months of arguing and bombarding them with messages they finally fixed the issues on 3 separate logins! They restricted our information so we didn't know our balances or transactions and the list goes on. They are unprofessional and technically inept and they show it by consistently and constantly telling you to "clear your cache" and wanting YOU to call THEM so they can troubleshoot your issue... An issue that ONLY Chase has, 6 other institution's websites work perfectly, your machine works perfectly, etc. DO NOT LET THESE FOOLS GET YOU TO WORK ON YOUR MACHINE!!! You won't be happy with the outcome! BTW, I ended up with these fools having my mortgage because COMPASS BANK sold it to them. I don't even know why Compass is still doing business but that's another review.
CHASE refuses to acknowledge, apologize, or compensate a 15+ year customer for all the frustration and hassle the customer, ME, went through. My answer to them? I don't use their products anymore and if there was a way, I would move my mortgage somewhere else but the Feds removed that ability from us. Go get an American Express card that offers 6% cashback on groceries up to $6000, 3% at gas stations and department stores no cap, 1 % everywhere else. Yes not EVERY place takes it but AMEX has great customer service and cashback is all year long versus having to opt in every quarter. This institution has gotten way too big and since they participated in TARP bailout, they think they are absolutely bulletproof, and unfortunately seems they are. Only the customers can get rid of them by getting rid of their products and boycotting that git, Jamie Money-monger Dimon and his cronies.

Liz and Sheena with Chase Bank Customer Service were extremely unhelpful in resolving an issue of a Lost Card. Liz completely refused to report the card lost even after the customer informed her that it was. Chase Bank refused to help. They leave it up to the customer to fix their problems. Chase Bank Customer Service is the type of establishment people are talking about when they mention how bad customer service has become in the banking industry. JP Morgan is by far one of the worst financial institutes in America today.

I've been a Chase customer for over 2 years now and everything was good at first until this year. MANY things started going downhill. First of all I MUST advice that even if your paycheck has funds, that doesn't mean your funds will be available immediately. That's a common process and the funds are usually available the next day. I get pay every Friday bi-weekly so I have the habit of depositing my paycheck the next day Saturday morning because normally the funds are available the same day which is fine. But all the sudden it has backfired. Is out of random chance that from now on they decide when to let go of your funds. In my case for example it won't be available until the 11th of October and deposited today October 7th Saturday morning.
What is more upsetting is when the customer service LIES into your face by saying that if you deposit money on a Saturday is not available right away which is a HUGE ** LIE!!! If that was true, I would of not ever deposited all my other checks on a Saturday morning. My bosses have CHASE as their primary bank for their small business so they a being a Chase regular customer and getting pay with a Chase check DON'T MEAN **. Anyways I am done with this Bank. As soon as my funds are available I'm moving on to another bank. This is the 7th time this happens to me.

Has anyone with multiple accounts, mixed personal and business accounts, experienced cross overs of the data? Example, a signer on a credit card for a business account has their personal checking account tied to the online platform. Another example, my business partner's personal debit card transactions started text messaging me (out of the blue) his personal transaction records, on my cell phone. Chase seems to have a MAJOR problem on their hands, and it seems like no one is paying attention.

After rushing to the ATM when I got off work at 11 o’clock at night To make a deposit and put my account in good standings I then wake up the next morning to two overdraft fees because it was 11:10. Last time I tried moving money over and received overdraft fees they told me it was because it didn’t hit until 2 o’clock in the morning and midnight was the cut-off. All of their rules seem to change often on when cutoffs are for money deposits. I also have an ATM receipt showing me last night that I had a positive available balance and present balance yet they still decided to charge me the fees. I don’t recommend Chase Bank because they will steal your money at any chance they can get.

And then I'm forced to do business (for uh, 30 years) with a soul-crushing company that cannot be bothered to pick up the damn phone. It's ridiculous that if you are to request a pay-off so that you no longer have to do business with this awful bank that you must get it by fax or snail mail. Then you can only mail in a check or do a wire transfer. What is this 1990?

They keep changing their policies on fees, and overdraft coverage and fee reversal. After speaking with three customer service representatives and supervisors this morning we've had enough. I was told different information by three different people, told different times and charged a $67.42 overdraft fee for a $10.00 charge. Yet there was $50 in my account. After this and their blatant lack of customer service, we will be closing all of our personal accounts (4) and all of our business accounts (2). I'm fairly new with Chase. I would say about less than a year. I recently had someone try to use my card in another state so of course I get an email from Chase or text asking if I authorized this. I said no. During this time I went into the branch to do a name change and get a temporary card while my new card came in the mail. Well every time I tried to use my temporary card at the atm it would advise, "Please call customer service". Which customer service would say it was the machine. Then I would go to a different machine and it would advise of the same issue. Then they would transfer me to their fraud department. I would have to do their system verification with a call which is annoying and a lengthy process. Come to find out I couldn't take out money every time with that card because the system flagged it as a warning that it may be fraudulent.
I was so tired of this after a week, having to call this bank every other day. Each time they had to remove the flag. So I was fairly pleased when I received a new card. For starters new card had my maiden last name on it. And every other merchant went to would decline my card. Embarrassing having people tell me every time like at Target and the 99 cent store telling me, "Sorry ma'am the card was declined". I have money in there. Otherwise I wouldn't be buying stuff.
Here I went for another week calling the bank. Saying, "Again!! It's the machine", I told the representatives, "How could it be the merchant's machine when I just saw a Chase customer use their card and 7 other people on that machine I just used." Back to the fraud department they sent me. Once again her. I had to do phone verification and was advised that the system flags possible fraud. I told them I don't understand. For starters this didn't happen with my first card. And they said that the card doesn't recognize the merchant yet. That just sounds stupid.
So at this point I needed to have them issue me another card because of my name change and the lady said I could use the same card number just will issue the card with my new last name, then a week went by no card came. Come to find out the system wasn't updated and I can't have the same card number, they were going to have to issue me a completely new card. So at this time I've invested two weeks of a headache. I don't want to have to go through the same issues with another card.
I get that you want to protect my identity but I can't even enjoy using my card. So this is just a bad customer experience. And all I get is, "I am sorry for all your trouble". So I am just going to have to consider a different bank. Chase let me down after I had hear so many positive things about them. And maybe this is just my experience. But word of mouth is a powerful weapon and people I know now do not want to bank with Chase. And neither do I.

Two days later I got an email and also a letter saying they changed the hold to now 9 days... OK, I can wait, but at be honest first instead of two days later changing it... note this is a check from the same person I had in the, no issue before, just now. Second, I tried to use my Chase card with an online shop I used in the past a few times with no issues. They blocked it and called me to unblock so I can use it again or in the near future.
Today I order from the same shop again. Guess what, blocked again. Got a missed call with the same heavy Indian accents from the last time that claim to have fixed the issue. Now asking me to call back to have the block remove... What a waste of time and effort. Do they block so much now and make you waste your time calling in for nothing??? A Chase ATM malfunctioned while I was depositing three checks. While they were able to locate two of the checks, the third check, which was for over $3,000 was destroyed or lost by Chase. The burden of proof and responsibility of rectifying this situation fell upon me alone. Chase was NO help. The "trained" professionals in their "claims department", when not leaving me on hold for 20 minutes at a time, provided me with conflicting and confusing information. One representative went so far as to accuse me of running some sort of scam with the missing check. The check was issued by my employer, a public school district! Since I am not involved in some elaborate con-game with the public school that employs me, I was highly insulted by that allegation. In the end, my employer was able to issue me a new check.
However I never received an apology from Chase or an acknowledgment of fault on their own part. Their mistake cost me hours of time and aggravation. The only thing I was guilty of was being one of their customers. I am in the process of moving all of my accounts to another bank and would advise anyone who is with Chase to do the same. Ultimately they lost a check for over $3,000 of my money and then I was responsible for rectifying the situation. If you’re okay with incompetence, Chase is the bank for you.

I am a victim of harassment, discrimination and bullying by Chase. On August 19th, I discovered that my Chase Debit card was blocked. I phoned Chase several times and continued to be rerouted to their Fraud Division Customer Service Dept. which is handled through the Philippines! I was not given a reason as to why my card was blocked. However, I was told that I would have to provide the Chase Rep. with photocopies of 2 forms of ID and a photocopy of the front and back of my Chase Debit card... I was informed that the photo would have to be clear enough so that they could read the numbers on the front and the 3-digit security code on the back!
I refused to comply. I was asked if I could provide addresses where I lived when I was young. I AM 51 YEARS OLD! I was also asked if I knew the names of any bank managers where I did my banking. I BANK EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE. Nonetheless, I returned home and continued to press the matter with other Chase customer service agents via my cell phone and ultimately was able to get the block removed. Albeit, I was forced to miss work for 3 days because of the inability to use my Chase Debit card. (I am a Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant and flying across the nation and spending nights in various hotels, I MUST have access to my Chase Debit Card). I received a phone call from Chase Executive Office and was informed that my complaint was researched and resolved... My card was unblocked and usable and my case would be closed.
However, as of today, September 10th, I discovered that my Chase Debit Card is once again BLOCKED FOR NO REASON! It comes less than 12 hours after my case (complaint against Chase Fraud Division Customer Service) was closed. I am once again having to forego 3 days of work and pray that this issue gets resolved by Monday. I have begged for Chase to unblock my card. I have over 2000.00 in my checking account. I do not keep cash in my wallet, so I am dependent upon my Chase Debit card.
I was told once again to submit photos, etc. but this is fraud. Chase Fraud Prevention Customer Service is only angry because I sent a complaint letter to Chase Executive Offices. This is retaliation which is clearly fraudulent and illegal. I've since tried to unblock my card but again Chase Fraud has even blocked my ability to contact any other department except theirs. ALL of my Chase contact numbers are rerouted through the Philippines or on Sunday before noon (India).

Their ATM took my SCHOLARSHIP check and they failed in every area to be responsive and helpful in the situation. They have no knowledge of the system they and cannot provide the customer with any detailed information other than it is "being investigated." I told them that there was no investigation needed because it was their machines mechanical error and someone just needed to go to the ATM and get the check.
I have been on the phone with them multiple times, most of the representatives are in the Philippines and have little knowledge of how banking in the U.S. works and often have very poor English skills. They referred me to their 'escalations' department because I was distraught about the situation and they continued to tell me how there was nothing they could do and that it would take 10 business days! One representative even stated that the "legally" had until 10 days after I called a week after the incident, meaning I could be waiting even longer and they cared less about getting the situation taken care of quickly.
Like so many on here, I am shocked that one of largest banks in the country would be so apathetic about helping a student who basically had their scholarship monies disappear into one of their ATMs. I am leaving and going to another bank. All people considering switching to Chase should think twice. The second anything goes wrong, they will fail you and treat you poorly in the process. A few years back I opened a student checking account for both of my daughters. I have been with Chase for about 6 years and been very happy with the experience until recently. My oldest daughter is 19 and works two jobs and is not big into technology. Since her account is linked to my account I periodically check the account to make sure everything is okay. Recently there were three withdrawals made out of her account and large sums and by the time I realized something was wrong and alerted her, Chase stated that she took too long to respond even with a police report and are now expecting her to pay for the withdrawals even though it was not her who withdrew the money. This was a learning account which is why it is called a student account and yet they expected her to behave like an adult that it had an account for 10 years. This is a 19-year old that works two jobs and again is not big on technology.
They were very rude and did not try to work with us whatsoever even with a police report. They then claimed that they never received the report number even though we walked physically into a branch and the lady told us that she would fax over the information to corporate. They said it was still our responsibility to go back and do it again! I am extremely disappointed with how they handled the situation. And frankly I would rather pay an attorney $900 than to give them $900 that we never withdrew... this is precisely why so many of my friends have rebelled against banks and reverted back to old-fashioned ways of monitoring their money...

I decided to get some shopping done before going into the bank, making that my last stop. However, while I shopping my phone was stolen and because of the time it took to file a report I didn't get to the bank until 325pm. I was told that because of the time it takes to open 2 accounts and that the bank closed at 400pm I should come back the next day. Though the heliport threw in a very snotty, "And make sure it's not right before closing time."
I explained that my phone had been stolen so it would be nice if she could call a taxi for me but apparently the teller phones don't have access to outside lines but security could call. I walked to the front, where the security guard was playing a game on his phone, and explained my situation to which he said, "We're not supposed to make calls for anyone, and I don't know the number anyway." I told him that I knew the number but he still insisted that he couldn't make calls but maybe the library would. Basically, that I could walk on my crutches across 4 lanes of traffic on one of the busiest streets in the city to get there. Really?! Because I did not have a phone and because I have a mobility impairment, too bad for me, I guess. Well too bad for you, I'll open my accounts elsewhere!

My name is Rick ** and I was a member of Chase Bank for the past 20 years. I was brutally accused of a crime in which the defendants in which are employees of the Chase Bank (Located on Crenshaw & Vernon) viciously accused me of (Groping an Employee of that branch). The situation began on August 10, 2017 as I was making a routine deposit into my bank account using the ATM machine located inside the entry lobby. I then decided to get some information about starting a second chance account for one of my friends and colleague based on their need to have a functional bank account needed before signing up for a modeling agency. I was greeted by one of the bank personnel after signing in at the front of the bank lobby. After going into the cubicle of this bank employee I began asking general questions about this second chance opportunity for my friend to start her account.
I was given very little information from this employee in response to my questions so I decided to take matters into my own hands and call my friend and have her come down to the bank and get her account started. I politely left the cubicle and began making my call to this person when within a matter of seconds I was approached by a bank security guard demanding in a rather loud tone for me to leave the bank. A bit startled I wasn’t even sure he was speaking to me as I continued speaking with my friend over the phone. I was then asked again to leave the bank by that same security guard, then knowing that this message was meant for me. As I shut down my phone call to my friend I noticed that the Branch Manager had approached me as well yelling for me to leave the bank. I then became a bit more defensive in asking what the reasons were for them to confront me to leave the bank.
I was told from both the security guard as well as the Branch Manager that I was being accused of touching an employee of their bank inappropriately. I was not only feeling very embarrassed but extremely offended from these accusations. I demanded the Branch Manager to please review the cameras and they will indeed see that they were making a mistake in these accusations and explained that I would not leave this bank until I was satisfied that this accusation was cleared up either by speaking with their employee and looking at the bank video or by call the police and allowing them to look at the video. The Manager replied that he was already going to call the police in which my response was that I would wait for them to arrive so that I could clear this situation and to prove my innocence of this situation.
As I awaited the arrival from the LAPD the manager never came to me and acknowledged looking at the bank video. I began wondering if the Police were ever called due to the time in which I sat around waiting. I waited approximately 1 hr & 30 minutes for the police to arrive. Finally 2 officers show up with pen and paper asking me what went on. I responded by giving them the same account for my being there as is written in this letter. The officers then went over to the Branch Manager and spoke with him for approximately 10-15 mins. Since I was not involved in that conversation I chose to ask about them looking at the video because that is what I was told they were called for.
The response from the LAPD indicated that they never took a look at the video but rather gave me an excuse from the Branch Mgr. that his employee felt uncomfortable speaking with me about mention of a secondary account conversation and chose not to give me any details about my questions in regards to any information, therefore telling the Branch Manager a complete lie about her reasonings for her discomforts. The reasons for me taking this situation a bit further is to expose this kind of treatment that puts a well meaning customer like myself under this cloud of disgrace at the hands of a disgruntled employee or employees.
Making matters even worse, I called Chase Bank Customer service and asked to be speak to a supervisor who could listen to this complaint and take notes for a possible investigation. I was connected to a supervisor who said that she would be definitely taking notes of what had just taken place within the bank that afternoon. I was also told that someone from her department would be getting back to me within the next 24-48 hours regarding this disturbing news. I was never contacted by anyone for the next few days so I decided to make a follow-up call back to the Customer Service Escalations Supervisor and was told that they were still working on this investigation and that someone would still be in touch with me by phone.
I gave them another 48 hours and then decided that I have had enough and demanded that someone get back with me so that I could follow up on what I needed to do in order for some kind of support in settling this matter. After no response I tried using my debit card to take an Uber only to find out the response from the (Uber App) told me that my card was no longer valid, which threw up a RED flag. I then called (Chase Online Banking) where I was told that I must call a special number the next morning only to find out that my account had been suspended and that I had no choice but to wait and receive my money in 7-10 business days by either a cashier's check or money order from Chase. I was also told that Chase had no obligation to discuss why this matter even occurred.
After banking with Chase for over 20+ years this is their goodbye policy. Not only am I offended and embarrassed as part of this being the outcome of my situation but I plan on taking action against Chase for this sort of reckless behavior from their employees, especially the Branch Manager who could have resolved this matter within minutes just by viewing the video cameras placed all along the inside of the Bank. Shame on J.P. Morgan Chase.

When I do this with a check it only takes 24 hours, when I do this with cash through ATM it takes the 15 minutes I drive from one ATM to the other. I believe these 48 hours of my money on limbo is the most annoying thing I have experienced with Chase.

My concern was that this spending was uncharacteristic for that particular charge card since it was used for farm purchases. It is not that I was charged for it but it simply seemed that Chase did not recognize the stress that fraudulent charges created on an individual.

I have been a Chase customer since they were American Fletcher National Bank, which evolved into Bank One, and eventually Chase. I have had the account in question for 20 years. I recently discovered that a fraudulent company -- VOIP -- had been performing automatic deductions from my account using a name that I have never legally used and an address that I had not lived at in over 6 years. I filed a claim with Chase, as over $500 had been deducted from my account over time. When I pointed out that the company was fraudulent you cannot get an answer during business hours, nor contact them through their website -- and that the information they used was incorrect, as well as the authorization on the bottom of the ACH (that my approval had been sought on whatever day of that month), Chase had me close my account out, but denied my claim.
I spoke with several Customer Service Representatives, who advised me that they could not credit this whole amount back, but could only go back a year, but wouldn't do that. I asked them to credit me that in good faith since I had been a long-standing customer, but all refused. I was told to sue the company or go through my Attorney General's office, but that they would not be helping me any further with this. I went into the branch of familiar faces that I know and love (as I have been banking with them for over 20 years), and they advised me to contact the Claims Department again and ask to speak to a supervisor.
I finally called and talked to two more reps before being transferred to a supervisor. Jamilah, a Claims Specialist Supervisor, chided me on not having caught the fraud sooner (as the other reps had done; mind you, I have also been undergoing chemotherapy for the past year, and had just had surgery), but said that she would not do anything because it wouldn't be fair to the other customers, etc. I advised her that I had been an employee of Bank One, and know first-hand that exceptions can be made in order to maintain a customer, and she advised me that this is why they are no longer in business (mind you, they are now CHASE). I have advised them each that if I could not get SOME form of recovery on my account, that I would be closing my accounts out.
As a long-term customer, I felt that they could credit me SOMETHING in good faith. Jamilah basically told me, "So long," and to have a good day, even as I advised her that I would NEVER recommend this bank to another soul. Even if they had credited me a month, although that would have been a drop in the bucket, it would have least reinforced to me that I meant something to them as a customer. Today's transaction assured me that I do not. I am not a millionaire, but I will take my business elsewhere and will encourage any and all to NEVER do business with Chase AGAIN.

However their fraud prevention leaves something to be desired in that if there is excessive activity on your account, rather than getting in touch with you via phone immediately, they either send an email or don't contact you at all.
In a period of three months, there were five incidences where I used my debit card a number of times during the day (Payday), and after purchasing a large item for $900, I decided to have lunch next door to the business I just used and couldn't order a hotdog because my card was blocked. There were plenty of funds in the account, but apparently the five dollar hot dog brought me over the top of some arbitrary limit. Needless to say I was hungry. There are very few options available for teens to practice responsible saving and spending money. We opened a Chase teen checking/debit card tied to our account in 2015 for my son when he turned 13. On June 9, 2017 he had approximately $1400 in his account, and tried to deposit a check that was more than 6 months old for an additional $1000 (finally cleaned the room, found the check from November, what was he thinking? This is an example of learning) and left for camp across the country two days later. It was the first time he was flying alone. While he was at camp, Chase decided there was potential fraud in his account due to the attempted deposit and canceled his debit card.
My son was left at the airport with no way to access money (yes, at the camp store he spent the $60 "just in case" cash I stuffed in his hand as he left) and no food. No, he didn't starve. Yes, this is a first world problem. The issue I have with Chase is that it is now July 28, 2017 - almost 2 months later - and they still haven't sent him the $1400 that was in his original account that they closed on June 12, 2017. This is akin to a free loan to Chase from a 15-year old boy. When I called today, I was on the phone for an hour, sent to 3 different people, and eventually told that they were investigating the account for fraud. Still? And what about the statement we received in the mail 10 days ago showing they debited his account and it now remains at $0.00?
So where is his money? I was told they would "request a check" and I could call back in 2-3 business days. I was told that the request was emailed to the "back office" but that the back office does not have a telephone number. Apparently no one can call the back office. Not even Chase employees. I asked if I should go to my local branch, but was told that they would "just call us." Further, to complain directly to Chase, one must login (which requires setting up an account -- I don't want an online account... I want to write a letter to customer service), call (like I'm going to do that again), or tweet in 140 characters or less. Chase employees do not have any power to actually help customers.
The most they can do is repeat what they read on their computer screens, which makes them sound unknowledgeable (when I used the word "stupid" to complain about person number 2 to person number 3 I was told "we don't entertain that kind of language" - perhaps if you accomplished something useful you wouldn't be perceived as unintelligent and useless... is that better?). I'm not sure when my son's check will arrive. Meanwhile, I found a lovely bank that opened a savings account for him, and will get him a Greenlight card so he can learn to save and spend wisely in our electronic age. Chase will no longer have any of our business. I wish it would make a bigger difference to them, but I fear they don't really care about our small (to them) accounts.

When I questioned the notes in my account to verify my calls, I was also told that notes as to what the call is about are only recorded if you speak with a supervisor. How convenient for Chase! They charged an annual fee and late fee prior to ever receiving the card and though I closed it six months after receiving it, I did not get a refund of any part of the annual fee charged two months prior to getting the card. If you ever going to get a credit card from Chase bank, aware of their customer service and fees. If you going to pay whole balance on time you are safe. Otherwise good luck. If you call their customer service line it will redirect your call to different country who doesn't know the value of a US customer. Doesn't know how to treat you. I had a representative even doesn't know to explain how Chase calculate interest on your balance. I have been a Chase customer for more than 5 years and service I received earlier was really good. However, now it's become worse. I recently had two bad incidents where I try to resolve some issues with them. They never look from the customer side. You only get to hear "Sorry we can't do anything from our side". I hope writing this review help them to improve their service.

Chase emailed me regarding a company trying to charge my account. The company had an expired expiration date and the incorrect billing address. I responded to the email that it was a fraudulent charge and I did not want it charged to my account. Chase paid the fraudulent charge. I have been trying for three weeks to get this charge disputed and cleared off my account. It has been a hassle the entire time. I filed the dispute with Chase online for the charge that should never have been made on my account. I received a letter from Chase requesting the same information I have already provided about the dispute two times now.
I called the number provided in the letter that said it was where I should call if I have any questions. No one at the phone number could help me. They could not explain why I am supposed to provide the same information repeatedly. They said that someone was working on my account and needed to clarify information. I said, "Great, here I am now. What do you need?" They said that someone tried to call me. I told them that no one has called me. "My cell phone would show if I had missed any calls and I have no missed calls. But I am on the phone right now, so let's clear it up and get this charge fixed." The person cannot help me. There is no phone number to reach the dispute department. Chase said that they cannot call this department that is a part of their company. They said that they did not know who was working on my account, but that someone who could help me would call me in 3 to 5 business days.
Seven business days later, no one from Chase has called me. I call the 800 number on the letter again. I get the same run around. They don't know who is working on my case, but someone is working on it and needs me to fill out this form again and send it in. This mystery person needs to clarify information. But no one can tell me what information needs to be clarified. No one can find out. They cannot get in touch with this department. I cannot be given a phone number to reach these people. These nameless, phone less people will call me in 3 to 5 business days. I asked for a supervisor. I was left on hold for 28 minutes before I hung up. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would expect this from a shady credit company. I expect Chase Bank to provide a customer of over 15 years better service.

I recently went to a branch and requested they make a financial statement for me with some very specific information and the banker refused. He made several excuses about why he couldn't do this for me and it was obvious that he just didn't want to. I then emailed customer service online. They told me to go to a branch location to get the statement. I finally found someone working at a branch 30 miles away from my home that is willing to write this simple statement for me. This is ridiculous. I think I can do better in a bank. They want people's money but refuse to help in any way.

I applied for a credit card previously and was rejected due to insufficient credit history. Unfortunate, but understandable. I fixed the issue, and now have a long credit history and an excellent credit score; surely I should qualify, right? Wrong. Upon this second rejection I immediately called up their reconsideration line and was greeted by a customer service rep called Jeremiah who spoke very quickly and with a haughty tone. After he repeated himself several times I finally was able to make out "too few revolving credit lines to establish a credit history". I didn't know what this meant, so I asked "so, basically insufficient credit history still?" His response was a very miffed sounding, "well you're welcome to your opinion".
I reworded the question several times and could hear his already thin patience dwindling to nothing, so I finally just flat out said, "I don't know what that means". After he grudgingly explained it as quickly and with as little detail as possible, I asked him if there was anything I could do to resolve the issue. He just said snippily "that's up to you". Chase is one of the most money hungry and greediest banks out there. They never put their customers first. I had an issue last night with depositing money into my account. It wouldn't accept the last two bills I had to make my account current before the cut off time (11PM). I ended up having to drive to another Chase location where it did accept the money I had. Despite seeing this issue, supervisors felt I still wasn't entitled to a fee reversal.
I had the money in my hands and the machine wouldn't accept the bills. How is that my fault? Why am I paying for the consequence? Chase doesn't see how immoral their actions are by putting their customers through this. At this point, I'm looking into other banks that are more dedicated to their customers. Ok. So here goes. My experience with Chase Bank! These people are terrible and their customer service is AWFUL! I opened an account online because I work 7 am to 6 pm Monday thru Friday and 5 to 2 pm Saturday. I just relocated back home and have been somewhat estranged and trying to get back on my feet. After not having an account for three years due to identity theft, I received a voucher for 200 dollars back on a checking account. My bf said good things about Chase, and it would be super convenient for me to have an account with them. Well the coupon code doesn't work online. Ok no big deal. Open the account anyway. (One of the high end, paid for monthly checking accounts btw. Not the freebie! JS. These oafs were going to be making money off me on the platinum account).
So here are the results: drop 500 dollars into the account. A week later, on a Sunday (mail was delivered to the WRONG box) I get a letter that states my account is being closed. I just opened it! The letter is short and rude with no explanation as to why and, more or less stating that I had no access to my deposit and that I should call customer service. Well... what is this? I call customer service (Sunday night. Bank's not open but their customer service is? That speaks levels.) So anyway the call center rep tells me that I need to go to a branch and show them ID and it will be resolved. OK... No big deal. Monday is tomorrow.
I miss lunch on a 12 hour day to leave a half hour early to go to a branch (5:35 I arrived). A teller tells me to sit in the lobby and wait for someone to come. The banker is having a conversation with a coworker and rudely ignores me for 15 minutes while I sit there right before closing. (I know it's closing... But I had a half hour before the bank closed.) So I finally go back about 5:50 and explain that he needs copies of my ID. I also provided him with proof of address.
He makes a call to customer service who then tells me over the phone that the matter cannot be resolved and I have to allow the account to lapse then reopen an account at a branch? (Really?) Ok... No big deal. So customer service hangs up (5:55pm btw) and I explain to the banker that I have to reopen an account. He tells me that takes an hour and that he doesn't have time. I tell him I went thru a fiasco to get off work to come in and I work six days a week. There is no other time and I would appreciate it if we can resolve this now. He explains he cannot and that I will have to come back. I ask how am I going to get my money. He says the check is in the mail. I respond with "Funny... close out someone's account and then mail them a check. You people better cash it for FREE." He then explains that it's now past closing and he can no longer help me. (Really?)
So I leave the bank without being helped, a closed account, and pretty much no access to half a grand I had saved up. Not to mention the lack of warning before they just closed my brand new bank account. No email, no follow up communication stating they needed me to come in. NOTHING. Horrible horrible experience. I will never go back. And oddly enough my bf closed his account at the same branch on Tuesday due to the way they treated me.

My mother had 5 checks she made out for her bills out of her mailbox. One of the checks was changed from One Main to Amy Main and a joint name added to the payee line. Once she realized this she immediately went to her local branch who told her the check was cashed 3 hours away. They told her they would notify the fraud department. She went to the branch 5 days straight and was told they were working on it. They did close that account and issue a stop payment on the other 4 checks; however, after about a month, she called because she had never heard anything about her $287.00 that was cashed out. They told her she did not send in the forms requesting this so she and my husband went back to the local branch. The lady then filled out all the paperwork, had my mother sign it, she then notarized it for her and faxed it to the department.
To make a long story short, it has been almost a year now and Chase sent her a letter stating they would not be refunding her money because she did not complete the paperwork. She also found out the check was cashed at another Chase Branch in the area. She called them and the rep said "Oh, I do see where the paperwork was received." Back to square one, still no refund, still no satisfaction. She has sinced filed a police report from a suggestion from another bank and in the process of changing banks. $287.00... NOT $2,087 or even $20,000. She is a retired lady, living day to day and you can tell the check was changed if you look at it closely and then to add a joint payee with no questions asked when cashing it.
Shame on Chase! It is a sad day when they cannot take care of their customer. Almost a year and still no resolution. My bank would have refunded immediately and then investigated it. Maybe not, my son worked at US Bank and said that would have been a drop in the bucket for them, and they would have just turned it in to their insurance or took the loss.

They advised to pay the taxes (no matter what I had to do it) and they will reissue another check. The account is closed (my ex and I account) and had my previous last name. They said it will take 30 days. I make sure to tell them about the name change and they said is no problem.
Called back in May because I felt weird to stress them every month. On May 2nd they said they forgot to put the request for another check. At this time I stress about the name change. I was told the name changing present no issue. Again I asked how can they issue a check to somebody that is not in their database? Because with a new name is like a stranger and it might require a legal document. I was told that is not a problem.
I called back on May 15. At this time I was told or better said suggested that is my fault because my name is wrong on the account. And they the check issue department inform them to contact me but I had no valid phone number. (But somehow they manage to send my bill on time and a letter within 4 days that the name on the account cannot be change because is closed.) Chase had my email.
Sent a fax with proper documentation and called 2 days later. They informed they received it and they will put the request. Called back in June 6 and again something happens with the request. Called again on June 14 and this time they said the request was in but nothing happened. Could be that only one person works in the reimbursement department and if I don't see anything in 30 to 45 days to call back.
I gave permission to have my husband talk to the supervisor. When he got on the phone his first words were: "Do I have permission to talk to the other guy?" He tried to intimidate me with a superior tone, underlining the problem and somehow getting Chase under the water and putting me under. He did not get to talk to my husband. Lured by the promise of Chase Bank's $200 bonus for opening a checking account, I decided to open a Chase account and leave my old bank, who had also greatly disappointed me recently. I stopped in at a local Chase location and spoke with an account manager. This is a difficult month for me - I have rent due - but I scraped up a couple hundred dollars and figured we could get this done and it would work out well in the long run. The account manager took my information and told me that I had an outstanding balance of $100.27. Said it was a charge-off from an old account, one I'd had with my roommate a couple years ago. I didn't realize that she had left a balance, but I figured it was still worth it and ponied up the hundred bucks to close out the books on that account and start fresh.
The manager took my money and only THEN told me that - not only would I be ineligible for their $200 bonus dues to the old charge-off account - but that they would not be able to open ANY account for me due to some supposed negative information that a third-party firm had reported against me. So, not only was I not able to open an account - I was NOW short ANOTHER $100 that they took to balance out the old account. They could have told me that FIRST but no! They wanted to make damn sure they got their money. If you're considering opening an account at Chase - think first. If they tell you that they need to collect some old account first, DON'T PAY IT! Just walk out and go somewhere else.

I worked in customer service for many years and have a lot of compassion for people that work with the public, however, they have treated me terribly twice. One time I went into the bank and was speaking to a personal banker at her desk. Another man that worked there came in and told me to LEAVE!!! I was shocked and asked him why. He kept saying "you know why and finish your business then leave!!!" He also said I wasn't and I wasn't allowed back. I asked the personal banker that I was doing business why he told me this several times and she couldn't tell me. I left feeling so confused and humiliated.
It turns out he thought I was another person that he had a bad encounter with and cancelled their account. He never asked me my name or ask the banker that was helping me who I was even though she had all my information on the screen. I called and ask that a supervisor call me but no one called. So, I called back the following week. The supervisor told that man that kicked me out to call me back. That man left a voice mail saying it was just a case of mistaken identity. He thought I was someone else like it was no big deal.
Funny thing is that, according to the supervisor, he wasn't even suppose to be working in that area of the bank. There were so many other professional ways he could have handled the situation. He could have used discretion and called the other personal banker I was sitting and talking with and asked my name or even asked me, but instead he just started yelling and embarrassed the hell out of me. I spoke to a man that worked at another bank about how he treated me and he couldn't believe that a bank would ever talk to their customers that way.

I also was told the check bears both my name and my wife name which is why it can't be deposited. The bank manager went as far as telling me to contact the IRS which I did and the very helpful agent informed me that Chase can deposit the check in my account but they just don't want to!!! Chase Bank has put my family through pure hell these last few days with all the lies. Will never recommend this bank to anyone.

On March 12 2016 I personally handed a deposit to a JP Morgan Chase Bank branch manager. I have been working for almost a year to get my deposit back. It took going to Superior Court showing a police record of my deposit's existence for Chase's own lawyers from Dickinson Wright looking for my deposit to find this out in March 2017. I hold JP Chase Bank personally responsible for losing my property and lying to me all this time about it. Any member of state or federal law enforcement agency reading this. I can provide you with everything you need to look into this serious matter.
Updated on 09/28/2017: JP Morgan sent me a letter saying it was working on the issue. JP Morgan Chase told the CFPB it was working on the issue and I would be updated in 60 days. The next thing I know JP Morgan Chase files against me in court to keep my deposit. I get a letter from the CFPB informing me that JP Morgan Chase can't respond as the matter is under ligation.
JP Morgan Chase didn't inform the CFPB that it was the one that put the matter in the courts. This was done to keep the CFPB from doing a investigation. The moment a matter is put in the courts the CFPB won't investigate. JP Morgan Chase knows this. I have brought this to the attention of the CFPB. JP Morgan Chase is comfortable using the courts to hide its actions and will lie under oath. JP Morgan Chase will do everything it can to paint itself as the victim and you as the bully. JP Morgan Chase will lie on you in every way possible to everyone. I'm posting my story all over the internet to bring shine a spotlight on the courts being used this way.

The money was never deposit and it ate my check and give me a receipt to call customer service so when I contact the claim the department they willing help me to recover my $260. Now! It's May 1, 2017 and they reversed my $260 check claim. I called, "why did my money got taken out" and they say that the check I got from my boss was a bad check but they don't know why. I asked to send me a photocopy of the check. They said, "It will arrive on Wednesday." I called on Thursday saying I never got the photocopy check from the mail and they say they don't have it -_-. I ask for proof or facts on why the check is not valid. They transfer me to someone else saying there no document on the check.
I called my boss and he informed me a fact that his check was good. And that he was charged $260 on April 5 on his account that his check is good. My bank branch is not helping too. They say they can't find any information of the check which is really weird that I can't get my hands on a photocopy of my check. It's like the bank, the branch, or claim department is keeping me to get a solution and to give up my money. Once my boss comes back for vacation on May 24 he can give me a photocopy of the check so I can solve this ongoing problem I been trying to solve for 15 days.

Chase decided to side with the company "because you disputed the charge AFTER they charged you". Let that sink in for a second. Anyway, I am currently house shopping and need a new car, both of which were going to be done through Chase. Hope that $47 was worth it. Pennywise they say.

When I called them for application status, they said to send residence proof. As I moved recently to a different state, I got a temporary license. I mentioned same thing to them, they said to send it to them in fax. I did. Now they are saying it won't work for them, wait until I get license card to home and fax that again. So, I have to wait until it reaches me. If 30 days period ends for my application, they will reject my application and I asking me to re-apply, again credit check, again 30 days wait period for approval. I requested them to hold my application to update my supporting documents, but they rejected my request. This is so rude, I never face a problem with any other banks. I would like to share my experience to all my friends and colleagues. Worst customer service.

When you do a balance transfer for say 15 months, they start charging you interest when their offer expires, even if you still have interest-free time left on your transfer, then they give you some ** about when the offer expired as to why they are charging you interest, so at the end you end up paying more than if you did not do the transfer. They are counting on us not remembering when we did it, so write everything down. And stay away from Chase Bank. The branch office was not familiar with the program and said the information on how the program works is not sent down from their upper levels on how the program works. After they failed on their attempt to cash the card they informed me that one attempt could be tried a day making the card invalid. They rudely blamed me for waiting until the end of the time period to try and cash the card. I ending up standing in the car line outside the bank with a manager to cash the card at an ATM. I went to make a deposit INSIDE the branch and when I arrived at home, I was looking over the receipt and noticed that the teller had 1) Deposited the funds into my personal account when I asked her to deposit it into my business account and 2) failed to deposit an entire 350$ dollars. I called the branch back and asked to speak with the teller and they informed me that she had gone home for the day & having brought the cash in labeled disposable envelopes which she had disposed of for me, I thought that maybe there was a chance that she threw the envelope away with the cash inside of it; the teller was able to recover the envelope with the written cash amount (the amount that was missing) with no cash in it. This was in the middle of the week, and the banker told me that she would have the bank manager call me back.
Additionally, I overdrafted sometime after 10PM (I say after 10PM because that is when I last used my card and I had checked prior to using it to make sure I had sufficient funds) BECAUSE of the lack of funds and was made aware when I checked my email early this morning. I went to the bank and deposited the amount to ensure that the amount would not charge the overdraft fee only to be told that the overdraft fee would not be waived because it was past the "cut off time" which is 8PM Pacific time. So I literally would have to go back in time to have any possibility of correcting that. To top it off, I was charged not 1 but 3 overdraft fees totaling $104.00 and was told I had until 8 PM that same day to pay it off in order to avoid an ADDITIONAL 104$ fee PER DAY.
Left with no choice, I paid the amount that would have been in there had Chase not STOLEN my other 350$ that they have neglected to look into. I have been severely inconvenienced by Chase and will close ALL of my accounts with them as soon as I get MY $450 back. STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY from Chase. They will simply misplace your money and charge you ridiculous amounts under ridiculous policies.

In February, my landlord contacted me when they had not received the rent check. I immediately contacted CHASE to let them know that the check was stolen and deposited. The representative emailed an affidavit which my landlord and I notarized at a local ATM branch. I was initially told the investigation could take 90-120 days, but then told that because it was a Chase to Chase transaction, it would take 30 days. We are now in May. I have called numerous times and have been escalated to none other than the Escalation Department. Every time they tell me they will send an email to someone and to call back 3-5 business days later. Of course, I call back only to explain the situation again and be transferred to the same Escalation Department that has no updates and can only tell me that it is in process.
This is the worst experience I have ever had with a bank (customer service and fraud departments). We have had to continuously monitor our account and transfer money from our CHASE savings to avoid missing payments and getting fees. My husband has even received overdrafts in the other CHASE account we have that is linked to auto-pay our CHASE car loans. Of course, Chase says there is nothing they can do. We pretty much just have to sit and wait.

The whole time that he'd opening the account, he did NOT mention anything about direct deposit. He said that I just have to maintain the required balance and after 90 days the bonus will credit in accounts. So I waited, after 90 days I only received bonus on savings, NOT CHECKING.
I came back, he then said I need direct deposit, so I set up DD and waited 2 weeks like he said. But because he DID NOT inform me at the beginning, and I have waited 90 days on the bonus, therefore the coupon expired. They cannot manually submit it again. He said it was misunderstanding, which I DID NOT agreed because I double checked with him over and over on the qualifications. I missed that $300 due to his mistakes. His excuse was that he'd had this happen before so he's now always letting customers know. I guess he is still NOT doing ENOUGH in his job to provide the correct INFO and doing the right things for the customers. Who would trust a private client, a fancy title but not so dedicated to customer, when he CANNOT do his job right at the beginning.

I received a postcard (several, actually) to get $200 by opening a business account at Chase. I have a personal account there and they don't do anything, positive or negative, so I figured it was as good a spot as any to open my business account. I went into the Carmel Valley branch in CA and found it was surprisingly busy at any given time. Never anyone standing in line, but always people waiting for personal bankers. My banker helped me open my business account and when I inquired about the $200, said it wouldn't be an issue. I said for the initial deposit of new money, I would withdraw from an external account that I had linked to my personal account and then transfer those funds into my business account. A robot would see this as 'NOT' new money, but he assured me that if that happened, he would take care of it.
The robot did not see this as new money and I did not get the $200 bonus. I called and my guy said it was denied and reiterated the reason that I just told him. I told him that the $200 was new money and though it came from a Chase account, had just arrived at Chase a few hours prior, specifically for the transfer. He said he would look into it and get back to me. I guess he got bad news, because he didn't call back and he hasn't returned my calls since. I not only need this account for business, but I need a line of credit as well. $200 was a nice enough incentive, but it isn't life-changing money. Surely, it is peanuts for Chase. I closed my account and will probably be closing my personal account and 2 credit cards as well. Two stars for how easy they are when helping you close accounts! Well money was transferred and our purchase was around $580.00, card kept declining, unreal, then we just bought $200 purchase and that went through. Mean time I called the customer service why this card is keep declining. I kid you not, the time me and my son were on the phone for 25 min.
They started asking him some security questions, he entered his CC, expiration and three digit pin, what ever it was when he was inputting, he made an error and pressed #. they fully blocked that card now. We tried to ask them, please help, to get this transaction done! They told us to email his credit card, his driver license and another state ID or social security card or utility bill, we are in check out line. This kid is only 16 and he carry his DL with him only. (Since when the Chase started asking for 2 set of ID's and why our state DL is not valid for identity especially when we are stuck in the situation like this.)
So they were not going to let us go without sending them not two but three things, or they suggested we should go to the nearest branch (Really on Sunday, I felt we were dealing with out of country customer service) and show the identity. We end up leaving the purchase and drove 15 miles to come home and had to drove back to pick up the rest of the stuff) after spending almost 25 min telling them it is us, and please let it go through our purchase. They have stupid, nonsense, unconsidered people working on the weekend for them, don't even know if they understood the situation. Store was going to close at 6 and my son needed the things for his football practice.
They need common sense people working in the customer service especially when the branches in USA are closed on Sunday. Also in their right mind, if we were doing anything wrong, would we even call customer service. Customer service should solve the problems, but they went extra mile to block my son's card fully, this was the only card we had with us and we were coming from a game, now we cannot even purchase food with that card. 30 years with CHASE BANK, good bye, I will take my business somewhere else.

I submitted the news story and requested Chase contact the bank where the fraud occurred. They said there was a 'note' to do so.
I found out later Chase never contacted the bank, and the employee on the phone said there was a note, but since it wasn't part of their normal investigation process, they didn't actually follow up with it. Although she could not seem to find my account, she had absolutely no interest in helping me. But to be fair, she excelled at sighing, rolling her eyes, and communicating her irritation with a condescending attitude. Bored by her behavior, I asked her to give me my check back and went to another teller who was quick, friendly and efficient. I then asked to speak with the branch manager. Was informed that Jeff ** out until Monday.
Never heard anything from Mr. ** on Monday or Tuesday, so I called him on Wednesday. He then returned my call on Thursday, never asked about the lack of service the previous week, and then informed me that Sarah is one of their best tellers. On Saturday April 8, 2017 I went to Chase Bank ATM Machine to withdraw cash because we were in the process of moving our home that day to a new location and I needed a little bit more money to pay the man and his company for moving my house. Well lo and behold I tried a withdrawal for $300 and it denied the transaction yet took the $300 plus a $3.00 fee for using the ATM so they took $303.00 out my account but the machine DID NOT dispense my cash. So not thinking about anything wrong I initially thought it was just an error so I tried again for $200 and the same exact thing happened. They took $203.00 out my account but DID NOT DISPENSE MY CASH AGAIN.
So I went inside and they said I needed to call the number on the receipt. Well I did that just as told and they told me there was nothing they could do over the phone, to go back inside and talk to the banker. So I did that and I called my bank and my bank told me they needed to issue me a return to my card so then I went back inside and told them what my bank said and was informed that they don't do it like that. That I'd have to call my bank and claim a dispute against Chase Bank all of which could take anywhere from 10-90 days before I could get my $506.00 that CHASE BANK ILLEGALLY TOOK OUT MY ACCOUNT AND WILL NOT RETURN TO ME!!! Now I have a husband and 3 children and for the past week we've been living without electricity and running water because the money Chase Bank stole out my account was to pay for that. And not to mention it didn't just happen to me that day.
While I was in the bank there were at least 6-8 more people that they/ their ATM had done this to. Now this is totally unfair as to I didn't do anything wrong whatsoever but they think they have the right to take people's money and return it when convenient for them. We struggle on a daily basis to make ends meet and to have this bank who claims to put their customers first just hold your money and not return it. I even told them to go review their cameras and see that the machine DID NOT DISPENSE THE CASH and the lady told me, "Oh we believe you." Well if so then give me my $506.00 back so I can get electricity and running water for my kids and me and my husband. This is just utterly ridiculous and very unfair and I will be contacting a lawyer right after Easter so I can recoup my money.
DO NOT AND I repeat DO NOT USE CHASE BANK OR THEIR ATM MACHINE 'cause they will take your money from your account and you will have to wait for your money to be returned!!! It's a shame that my local grocery store was able to better service me than Chase Bank could and I did not get ripped off by the grocery store like Chase Bank did by illegally taking $506.00 from us!!! If anyone else has had this happen to them in the last couple weeks or so I would love to hear your story and how they handled your situation. Chase Bank are liars and thieves in my eyes. I received a lump-sum of money. I had received CHASE's BONUS OFFERS frequently in my mail. I believed this was a good time to use my BONUS COUPON and went to the CHASE Bank in Culver City -- Jefferson/Slauson Branch and interviewed and was helped by Banker Angel. Among other things I was told that my Social Security Direct Deposit would begin at CHASE automatically in 4-8 weeks because Angel submitted the necessary paperwork. This was March 8, 2017.
Consequently, on my Social Security due date of April 13, 2017 the Social Security Direct Deposit was deposited into my previous Account. Upon approaching and visiting CHASE for hours in conference with Banker Raul where Angel was not available, I was told nothing could be done about my BONUS because my deadline is May 7, 2017 and my Social Security Direct Deposit would not hit CHASE until May 13, 2017.
I cannot believe CHASE wants to actually refuse my BONUS of $300 because CHASE's Banker Angel made the error of not submitting my Request for Transfer of Direct Deposit funds as he promised. I have several accounts with CHASE, including mortgage and credit card. That does not seem to matter with CHASE. CHASE just don't want to honor my BONUS COUPON. What is happening with CHASE? I believe chase has gotten too big, too fast and Public Relations is not one of their goals.

The discrimination I experienced at the Brownsville branch is disgusting! Because I am a young ** woman in a low income community they assumed I was trying to scam them or get over on them. I am an ex Chase employee and I know how they operate. Not only did the teller alert the fraud department but the manager as well as the teller refused to let me withdraw my money. I have been a chase account holder for more than 10 years and never been involved in any type of fraudulent scheme. This issue needs to be addressed in its entirety. Discrimination in No way shape or form should be practiced by a business considered to be a staple in the community. Everything went along fine for 6 months then they sold me to a debt collector who forced me to pay all of the money back (over 2k) or they were going to foreclose. And to make matters worse Chase has put these 2 payments they told me to skip on to my credit report making it impossible to refinance with another company. BEWARE of Chase, they will lie. I have filed multiple complaints against them and I will continue to file them. When they contact me they claim they never told me to skip payments! In my experience over the last 2 years with these companies I have realized that they do not care about their customers, they care only about their money. So, I have downloaded an app on my phone that allows ME, the consumer to record all my phone calls to them!!! I am sick and tired of Chase getting away with screwing people!!!

I have been on the phone with this bank for 4 hours and on both Coasts. I even called the 800 number. All I am trying to do is put my husband's name back on our account. We need this to help us get utility help services. The acct. was opened in CA 18 years ago. 3 years ago we moved to NJ. The only reason we kept the acct. in CA is because my husband's VA disability check is directly deposited in there. If we had to move it to NJ, we have already been told it could take a year. We depend on this deposit to pay our bills. We can't go without this money for 1 month, let alone a year.
We are Senior Citizens on a fixed income. I'm disabled and don't drive, let alone have a car. Chase tells me TO ADD MY HUSBAND'S NAME TO THE ACCOUNT, we have to do it in a Chase bank. Guess what? There are no Chase Banks in Southern NJ. Their answer to this is~that we should drive or take a bus 2 1/2 hours to NY for help. Sorry~ this is pure **. As soon as I can figure out a way to get my money to NJ~this bank can kiss my ass. This is beyond bad customer service. It's unacceptable on all levels. Nice way to treat Senior Citizens, and a Vet. Way to go MORONS!!! Let's see how long you continue to treat your customers this way before you are shut down. I guess you just can't fix STUPID!!!

Of course the day I went open an account they were so nice. I told the lady I really didn't want overdraft because of the fees and she said if I put money in savings they would take from it for NSF. So based on that SPECIFICALLY I put money in savings. Sure enough my rent payment met with NSF in my checking and I ended up with fees from the apartment complex because of it - way more than overdraft protection. Call the bank and get sent to someone with an accent that you can't understand. Call back and the people at the bank do NOT CARE about what happened! So much for customer service!! So I had money in the bank and they cost me $200 not doing what I was told would be done and I am not supposed to be upset or CARE! They didn't care and were rude!
Then to top it off the manager that said this to me that talks to many people every day - day after day - is going to say "she wouldn't have said that!" Really? Because I remember one conversation - not many a day for days, weeks and months and I specifically remember it was THE REASON I PUT THE MONEY IN SAVINGS! Once they get you in the door they are RUDE! They do not care if your experience with them costs you money or does anything to upset you or frustrate you! She just flat out refused to do anything and even claimed to be closed at minutes before 6 because I said I was pulling in parking lot! UNBELIEVABLE!
Come to find out after multiple phone calls that YOU NEED OVERDRAFT PROTECTION for them to take YOUR MONEY from YOUR SAVINGS to cover NSF! Well, how the hell am I supposed to know this?! I went by what she told me and she KNEW what I was telling her. She knew what I wanted and she was the one that suggested putting it in savings. IF IT NEEDED ODP to take it why didn't she say something?! So now Chase does NOT HAVE TO CARE OR BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS! I am just SOL and out the fees to the apartment but I HAD THE MONEY IN THEIR BANK! THE BANK THAT MISINFORMED ME AND REFUSED THE FUNDS! Every time I deal with a bank it costs me! Back to credit unions! Never again!
Huntington ended up with a class action lawsuit for what they did to me years ago. They would shift transactions around so they could put them in "tiers" and with ODP if you send a car payment and it's a few dollars shy to cover - they will put that car payment in front of all your small transactions to rearrange them and charge you overdraft fees on all of them rather than the one car payment... the large one. That was a nightmare to close my account and be done with them. And just like this you have NO RECOURSE because this is "their rules" which they know but we don't! Until you are HIT... after pushing papers in front of you and saying you are signing this or that they have the nerve to tell you to go READ all the crap they gave you! I will tell you what... forget it. Dirty business. Not reading!
Better yet - not BANKING with you - going back to a credit union! They aren't trying to steal your money for every fee they can think of! And they are much nicer people! Banks haven't changed! So after a clear conversation with this lady about NSF and putting money in my savings just for that... she is going to say she "wouldn't screw up". Well she did and it cost me and they don't care! That was the only reason I put the money in my savings! I suffer with pain and have trouble staying on top of things and told her that. There was a reason for the savings! I would know it better than her! Why I did it!
So I had to go to a supervisor's supervisor because they don't care. They will say "I am sorry about your experience" but NOT make it right. NOT acknowledge that a person had money in savings and something went very wrong here and choose to overlook it because of their rules that she failed on and assume the customer IS WRONG and the manager would KNOW she did not do this to a person out of all the people she dealt with. She just wouldn't! But I would be lying instead! WITH my money in that account! Proving that something isn't right! No! I am a liar! Ya... I just put a thousand in there and chose to have my rent BOUNCE! Ya! Sure!
To be honest she was NOTHING like she was the first day I went in there and a complete heartless uncaring witch and even tried to talk in a way to upset me MORE! FAIL AT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I wish I didn't trust a bank again! They do NOT care that it is their employee's responsibility to KNOW what is needed or not needed and just fine with the failure falling on the customer as they tell me it was supposed to have overdraft protection! Well, then she should have made that clear! Why would I put money in savings to cover NSF and NOT SET UP WHAT IT NEEDED FOR THEM TO TAKE IT! Treat me like I am a liar!

We have been using Chase bank for several years and have four accounts with them. On Tuesday, 3-28-17 I logged into my accounts and saw that the original account was overdrawn $3900. My wife had been scammed and had deposited a check for that amount from a company then drawn it back out the next day. The overdraft was from that fraudulent check. We went to the bank and explained what happened and told them I would get a check from my 401K and pay it back.
I got the check for over $26,000 on Thursday and went to the bank. We were told that three of our accounts, including my son's account were on hold by Chase's fraud department and we couldn't access them for any reason. We were told that was for our security which was a lie, it was so Chase could recover any money from them if necessary to repay the overdraft although the amount in those accounts wouldn't come close to paying it. We were told that our accounts would be frozen for 5 work days regardless of the fact that we promptly came in and gave them the $26,000 check from my investment company to make up the overdraft.
I should have just gone to a new bank and opened a new account with the check. They would have approved it within one day and I could have drawn out the $3900 to give to chase, but I was trying to do the right thing. That was a big mistake since Chase doesn't care if you do the right thing and now the entire $26,000 is tied up.
From the very start, we have been treated as if we had intentionally tried to scam the bank when we were the ones that were scammed and promptly attempted to make it right. My direct deposit paycheck was not accepted for deposit and none of the auto pay withdrawals I have set up from creditors have been allowed to go through. I'm sure Chase isn't going to offer to pay for the late payment fees I'm going to have. I have had to withdraw enough cash from the one account they didn't freeze to buy food and necessities. I went back again this morning to try to get these accounts taken off of hold with no success. I will never recommend Chase to anyone.

Chase will just Close your account without any reason or notice. Happened to me TODAY. Received a Quick pay for 200, yesterday afternoon, paid out 175 in expenses, woke up the next morning and overnight Chase reversed my quick pay, forcing my account negative, and then told me that I committed fraud. I spent my entire lunch hour on the phone with them. They refused to give me a reason for closing my account and screwing up my finances. The MOST insulting part of this was, I went into my local bank branch in NORTH EVANSTON after work and the banker LIED and told me that the person who send me the quick pay didn't have the money available. I KNOW THAT IS A LIE. It's not even POSSIBLE to issue a quick pay to anyone without the cash being in your account.
I have 3 direct deposits set to this account. What a huge pain in the ass. Still don't know if they actually PAID the bills they had money for. HORRIBLE customer service and EVERY SINGLE STEP. I used to suggest Chase to my International Rental Customers or my Real Estate Purchase clients... NEVER again!! HORRIBLE COMPANY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! They DO NOT tell the truth!! Money was fraudulently withdrawn from my Chase Account. I reported it, closed the account and opened a new one, with new passwords etc. Was told there was now a Fraud Alert on my Account. Called the credit reporting agencies to freeze all my other accounts, etc. Chase set up new "verbal passwords" on my account and told me no activity would be permitted unless I was called and asked for the verbal password, as extra security.
Nonetheless, 24 hours later someone walked in a Chase branch with no debit card and a false ID and was GIVEN my new account number, and another $1000.00. Chase never called me, no one asked for my magical new password - I found out 3 days later when the transaction "posted". Naturally I closed that account too and opened up a third one. Chase refuses to make me whole for this, saying they have "proof" that the withdrawal was legitimate (meaning I stole my own money). They will not share this "proof" with me. I am done. I am emptying my account today and not looking back. No more Chase bank. Your money is not safe there!

I went to my own bank to withdrawal cash so that I wouldn't have any issues with a check hold on his account and the money not being available to him immediately. Upon making it to the teller window at Chase Bank on Briarcliff Rd in Tucker, GA, I was told that since I wasn't a CHASE bank customer, I couldn't deposit cash into the account! Now, not only has this taken three (3) days to clear from my account as a debit purchase (lol), they also charged me a $3 fee!!!
VERY disappointed that I wasn't even told about the fee. It's not like I was using an ATM to be charged a fee. I was FORCED to use my debit card to make the deposit into my friend's account, and then I had to go back to my bank to deposit the cash that I took out in order to cover the transaction because I didn't want my account to be too low. I will NEVER recommend Chase bank to anyone! And I will post this review on my Facebook page!

Banked with Chase for many years. Recently had an account closed due to bad check through online transaction. They informed me I would have to come in and open a new account, so following their suggestion I did. So the next day opened a new account with new cards etc, then when I checked online banking for my SS check deposit a few days later could not access. Called the phone number listed. They informed me this account was also closed. In the meantime the SS check was deposited. I checked with SSA, so I checked with bank again where is my money, they said accounts are closed and no check no money. When I supplied them with the trace information from the Feds they all of a sudden found it. Oh yeah then told me check is in the mail, so I asked when it was mailed. They said 7 of March. Now keep in mind my check had been deposited at exactly 11:59 the 2 of march.
Several days past I received a letter informing me the account was closed. Called them again. They acted like nothing was amiss, and there were no funds. When I once again went through all the tracer information, they found it, but informed me it was not only sent from Ohio but that it was sent to an address that I've never had. So here I sit payments past due, no solution other than to go to branch office fill out another form, and that they're will issue another check. It's already the 14th of March. If I had bounced a check they'd be all over it. Will they pay my late fees? I think not. The worst banking experience of my life. Don't use Chase Bank for anything... Let you know if this ever gets resolved, signed miss the good old days of honesty and truth, so sad that it is a world of deceit!!!

I bank with Chase, my employer also banks with Chase. Every pay period they manage to place a hold on my paycheck regardless of the fact that my check comes from their account and they are able to tell if funds are available (in which our company has never had a problem). I call almost every other week to ask to remove the hold and they promptly do and also advised that I will never receive an overdraft fee if they have placed a hold on my check as it is a result of them. Well this week they decide to reorder the way my transactions took place (I check my account every morning). The lower transaction was in place that morning and later in the afternoon I personally made another transaction that shouldn't have taken place until the following day but it didn't. I received a text a 10:38pm that night notifying me that my account was negative.
Reality is that was my fault, I'll take it, but what isn't is the following day the charges are reordered and I now have received a fee for the $12.87 charge (which was covered) and the $215 charge (I earned that fee). But what has really gotten me upset is that they also gave me a fee on the 10th for a charge when I deposited my paycheck (from a chase account) in which the placed a 24 hour hold on (which didn't bother me at the time cause I was told by a chase representative I would NEVER receive a fee for a hold placed by them).
This is now becoming excessive. I take care of a family of 5 and do my very best to balance my money that I actually earned, and here is some bank that comes in and can take it whenever they find ways to ever so easily cheat hard working people out of the money they ACTUALLY work for. For years now the Federal Agencies have come down on the unfair practices in the mortgage industry but I'm quite certain if maybe the FTC gave a real good look into the un-fudged records of the many banking customers they would find a plethora of unjustified fees we have been charged and we have no one here backing us up and making sure we get treated fair and just.
So in the matter of 48 hours Chase bank has taken $68 of $102 that is unjustified and they have found a way to manipulate the system to work in their behalf and there is no real way I can fight this. I have been with this institution since 2011 and have dealt with several fees and I will gladly swallow the ones I have earned. But I have a real big problem accepting the ones I did not. Sure I could move to another bank and close this account but the reality is all financial institutions practice the same slimy way so nothing is actually being solved.

I told the banker multiple times that I wanted paperless and that I did not want my information shared. I returned home and went online and made my account paperless when I noticed it had not been done. Over the next month, I received no less than 3 letters from Chase, with my full account numbers and account history. I called the personal banker and I asked why this was happening, and she told me "It would then take another 3 months to correct." I then found out that my information was being sold to third parties and that the boxes for "limiting sharing" had not been checked, and it would take "4 to 6 weeks to stop the sharing"!!! I called no less than 6 branches and managers, with no help, and was even asked by one "why I wanted to be paperless and limit my sharing of my info”!
I tried to go to the executive office, but was also treated very rudely and indifferently and was told there "was nothing they could do". My daughter's cellphone started blowing up with marketers and real estate people calling–guess we know how THAT happened, huh? When I went to close the account, I was told I could not have my money because I had opened the account under their promo which gave the customer $300 during the first month, because I had not kept the account open for more than 6 months!! STAY AWAY from these crooks. They more than recouped their 300 dollars by selling our personal information to outside car dealerships, realtors, marketers. I got my auto loan through Chase. I did everything online and all was "ok" until their web system screwed up and tried to pull payment from another account (that I'd never even used before when I'd been making payments on the same account for months). This resulted in a $25 fee from Chase and a $24 fee from my credit union - and it was THEIR mistake (defaulting to the wrong account to pull from).
So far it's been more than 72 hours trying to get the fee refunded. I've had 8 different people contact me via email and somebody from the bank called me at 7:30 am this morning, waking my wife and I up! I called their department and after being on the call for over 20 minutes was told by the supervisor there was nothing he could do and we'd have to "wait". This level of bureaucratic incompetence tied to a extortion-based fee (note there's no cost to them at the rejection of payment) makes it clear. Chase is a monster bloated regime of idiots with a system where you cannot get anything done. Do yourself a favor. STAY AWAY from this bank. Go to a credit union. On January 3, 2017, I made the mistake of placing an order for two free trials of skin care products. In that order, I agreed to the two shipping fees of $5.95 each. Those two charges showed up on my account as two different merchants located in Tennessee. On January 10, 2017, two additional charges showed up on my account to two different merchants located in California. Both of these charges were for right under $100 apiece. When I discovered these charges, I immediately called Chase and the charges were credited back to my account and I was provided a new debit card. Yesterday, on February 28, 2017, I received a message from Chase stating that their decision had been reversed, and the charges would be displayed on my account once again.
When I called Chase to determine what had happened I was told that the charges had been verified. I asked what the verification was and I was told that the merchant supplied my name, address, and email address. I tried to explain that yes they would have that information because I originally agreed to the $5.95 shipping charges. The agent that I spoke with was, in my opinion, extremely condescending and gave me the impression that they did not believe what I was telling them. They offered me no empathy. They did not apologize for the decision. And when I asked about a recourse, I was told to Google visa.
I have tried different ways to reach out to chase since that call to try to resolve the situation and to even see if I could get an apology for the way the agent spoke to me. I have not yet communicated with anyone that seems to care at all that I was disappointed in the customer service interaction. I have been a very loyal customer to chase for several years and have even recommended Chase to many friends and family members. At this point, I am strongly considering taking my business elsewhere.
