The worst Bank of America. I deposited a check that was promised to clear within two days. The computer generated deposit slip had the two day hold printed on it. This horrible bank decided to add five days to the hold. I lost the car I was desperately trying to buy because of the bank's long hold. Called the expedited hold operations and unfortunately it was an absolute sham. This bank prints fraudulent dates on deposit summary slips. This bank is fraudulent.

This is the problem: You cannot reach a human employee. When you finally do, they do not accomplish the task you set out for them. When you try again, they apologize and fail to accomplish the task AGAIN. I welcome the end of western democracy if it means their executives will hang from gallows at the end of bloody revolution. Garbage company. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

I have been a customer with Bank of America for over 19 years. In that time I’ve had quite a few large checks to deposit, both regular and cashiers checks. The cashiers check is guaranteed by the bank so this time I expected that my funds would be available maybe in the next day. Instead, I am informed via email after my deposit that they will be holding the check for seven days my sister paid extra for this check as do we all when we buy a cashiers check. Once the deposit clears, I will be closing all of my account accounts for this is the last mistake. I am willing to deal with from them. I have been through many problems with Bank of America in my 19 years, at one point a large sum of money was deposited and the manager of the bank without speaking to me changed my checking accounts type. I lost a lot of money from that a banking fee fees, transaction fees, etc. I have had good and bad service at local branches. I’m done.

Bank of America is a leech. Their custom payment plans on their credit cards are a fraud. They tout it as interest free, but then charge you a fee that is higher than what you would have paid in interest. And you cannot cancel it. You are locked in to the fees.

I use BOA online often. They keep changing the app. so that sometimes I can’t even find the log in. Now unless I pay a bill on the same day I receive it, I don’t get a confirmation until the date I choose later. Also, the confirmations all come in lower case. What happened to upper case, which is easier to read and write? Finally my BOA on skeet club rd. High Point NC eliminated the drive up window. Some service?

I'm so fed up with Bank of America! A decade ago they could get their paper statements to people about 8 days after the billing period; now it's at least 15 days. I can't do my monthly bookkeeping until after the middle of the next month. This is too big of a company to be that incompetent.

Seems to me that when you have a closing date after a due date that you are just trying to rip people off. That is what happened to me when I called to dispute a finance charge after I paid off my bill on the due date they saw fit to charge me interest on my payment 3 days after the due date. Very underhanded. You can never pay off the card because you are always waiting for an interest charge and even when you pay it off on the due date. Not good business.

For more than 25 years we have had decent service. During the past several contacts we have had difficulty getting a live human being on the phone and the online app has also become something of a nightmare. You might also notice the CC account balance always tells you your balance owed INCLUDES your actual monthly account balance PLUS all new charges. We are getting ready to make a move to a new financial institution that might value our business and provide a decent level of service. No one at BOA seems to give a rat's a... about service. We ask to speak with a manager during a recent call and were told our problems would be escalated and someone would call us back in 24-48 hours. WTF???

A recent experience at Bank of America is still so very disappointing. I have been a customer for a very long time. Recently I was shorted $20 on an ATM withdrawal. I went into the bank and asked them to provide the shortage. They apparently did not believe me and treated me like I was a thief. Today the additional $20 showed up as credit to my account. I think they should have given me a provisional credit. If they cannot trust me with $20, why should I trust them with my funds. I have spoken with several associates and think they owe me an apology.

If you find a way to clean drug money in the Caribbean and seek to move it into the US banking system after being investigated by EVERY agency from IMF to CIA to Interpol, these people shall continue to give you the run around even if you had an account with them for 30 years. Which is why I have moved $100 million into Charles Schwab as a business loan that originates from my Antiguian company CDS Consulting Group that raises its capital thru investor loans. No income means no taxes under the US tax code and ALL $100 million is a LOAN. I am declaring in writing a review in this pathetic ** bank and saying catch me if you can crackas.

I do not recommend that anyone use this branch. Let me start with today's experience: I had an appointment at 9 am. Everyone, including all workers and the manager, was on site when I arrived, and they said they didn't open until 10 am. They did not shovel their pathway. I slipped and need surgery, with a shattered kneecap. Furthermore, I told the manager through the glass door, and all she could do was give me a chair after yelling because she said no. I had to fight her for it, and I sat out in the snow for an hour. Over 12 members like myself had the same issue. Zero call or notice that they had delayed opening. Everyone, including management, should be fired asap. Opened a bank account last week.
Needless to say, had to return to the branch 2 times just for that because the guy and the branch had zero knowledge. Worst part of it all, today I went because he had severe issues, met with someone else who gave wrong information, and so did customer service, as well as both rude managers on each occasion. I will be switching branches, hoping for the best. If not, I will be closing the account. I do not recommend any of the three main account people behind the counter or any of their managers. Bank of America needs to look into this.
I filed a report for the injury, and if they do not pay any medical fees associated with it, I will also pursue legal action also filed with Nassau County 2nd precinct (As non manjor and to respond when they can, as it was not urgent they also took a report) and statement from me at the hospital, as the hospital called them. When they arrived there, to take a look at 2 pm was still not cleared. Should have read previous horrific reviews about this branch before ever entering it. Also, I am a doctor. If I could give negative stars, I would. Look at other horrific reviews. Also hospital did call police to file a report with the 2nd precinct. They drove by around 2 pm, still not resolved. Took a statement from me in the hospital after and filed report against them for failure to make sure safety regulations were met.

I have been a loyal Bank of America customer with no history of fraud or claims. When I deposited a third-party check—fully legitimate—they canceled my account, locked me out of mobile banking, and took my card—without any warning or chance to clarify. I had to reach out myself, calling several departments, only to be told I now must wait weeks for my money—far beyond what was promised. Bank of America should give customers a clear chance to clarify and prove legitimacy before taking such drastic steps. Instead, this left me in a difficult, costly position. Sadly, after this, I can no longer trust them, and they have lost me as a Customer. 9 out of 10 do not recommend.

I have just finished spending at least two hours of my life wasting my time talking with their Cardholder Support department. I use a corporate card and tried withdrawing cash from an ATM recently. The ATM couldn't connect with BOA and so my transaction was cancelled. I did see an email alert come through saying that I had performed an ATM withdrawal but I knew that it would be reversed and later I saw that it was, however, the $13 Service Fee for using the ATM didn't get reversed. Out of principle, I called to have it removed since the ATM didn't provide any service to me and I didn't receive any cash from it.
I called the number on the back of my card and after several minutes of trying to prove that I was a legitimate user for this card I was told that I would need to speak with their Dispute department, that they were closed now and I would have to call back the next day. I called back a couple days later and after being verified again explained the same thing. Asked for the dispute department. They transferred me and I had to be verified yet again by this new department but using some other methods that seemed to not work but ended up taking around 10 minutes and then finally they said "I am going to email..." and the line dropped. I waited a few minutes to see if an email arrived before calling back. Nothing came.
I verified again and luckily got the same original person that had just transferred me several minutes earlier so I didn't have to do the complete verification again and she said she would stay on the line with me this time. She transferred me and I again had to verify everything yet again and this time the call didn't drop and I was able to explain the issue again and then this person said that their this wasn't a dispute problem but a fee problem and that the original department I spoke with had the power to fix this issue. This person also typed up several notes and put them into the system so I wouldn't have to explain the issue again. I was transferred back to Card Holder Support and yes you guessed it I had to verify again. This time I just asked Aerial to read the notes that the last person had just written. She put me on hold.
When she came back she said her department doesn't handle this and that the Dispute department could help me. As soon as I heard this I cried out "No, please don't transfer me again!!" and explained to her that the Dispute department just transferred me back to her department. She then asked me to explain in detail again what I needed like she hadn't even read what I had asked her to read. Finally she said "Let me transfer you to someone that can help. Please be patient." At this I feel like I'm going to explode and that my left arm is starting to feel a little numb. Anyways, she finally came back and said that she spoke with her supervisor, Ruben (last names aren't given out - I asked!) and Ruben said that they cannot waive or refund the fee and that I need to speak with my Program Controller. I can fully recommend not to bank with these morons! I'm a nomad, so I'm constantly traveling around. Sad to say they lack keeping up with their cases also not to mention very Unprofessional but they want your feedback on how they did. They told Us on this day Nov 18, 2025 they sent the email and lied about that too!
We never received anything with them.. The 1st case neither the 2nd CLAIM. I believe they take long on purpose so that you won't get your money back, we made a claim on September of 2025 and never sent info regarding this money. They did this through the phone and they used Bank of America logo to do the Scam. We SPENT well OVER 4HR TALKING TO DIFFERENT STAFF THAT LIED ABOUT SENDING these claims! We have 2 Claims open for investigation and it's looking like it's a waste of time keeping money in this Bank because they don't want to do their job and they are robbing the customers from their own bank. Not to mention they never even went back to retrace their FOOTSTEPS on the phone on how it happened. They had the nerve to say, "Sorry we can't help you that's your fault..." Are you kidding me, smh they are elderly and this is the reason why they did it in the 1st place because they took advantage😡 of them.
I DON'T TRUST This BANK. I honestly think it's the same people that work for them doing these scams. If I could rate them zero stars I would. I only applied to get 300.00 for on ship credit for our cruise. I applied in June to get this credit card and you have to charge 1,000 before 90 days on the card and of course I assumed the time started when I received the card at the very least. No they went from the day I applied. I did not get the card until probably 8 weeks later and they said they told me when I applied for the credit card if I did not get it in in a week I was told to call them and I don’t think that that is true. I asked if they could bring up the recording of me talking to them and she skipped right over that request. I absolutely don’t remember them telling me that and seems ridiculous telling that to the customer that they have to call a week if they did not receive it but can’t put my payment through after 12 days of mailing it.
If that was true I would have had it on my calendar. I used it within 30 days of receiving it, activated it within less than 30 days with a purchase over the amount I needed to get that credit. I did not have the 300.00 of credit for the ship. I called them and they told me to call Celebrity and I already called them and they could not help me, just passing the buck to someone else but i had already called Celebrity and they told me I had to talk to BOA. I talked to a supervisor at Bank of America and she pretty much said you missed the time of getting the points for the cruise and they can’t help in anyway. I sent my first payment in the mail and 2 weeks earlier and it has not processed and it was due today.
Probably processing the checks slow to get their 40 dollar late fee but I paid online today and now my check will go through and I bet it is probably tomorrow when it will show a day late, but thankfully I realized what kind of company they are and made the payment online today. I just have a feeling they might try to get that 40 late pay on there because although it was paid today, it says it will process tomorrow. Every check I mailed together that day was processed days before except for BOA. Unbelievable! I looked at my statement and it said I got the card within 7 days and that is just a lie. I wish they sent it certified. I think they estimate the time and put it in there to hide their mistakes.
They are misleading and I feel I was ripped off and it feels deceitful and underhanded to me. I have to guess that is a promotion many people are entitled to but don’t get it due to misleading things. It says on the bonus thing that came with the card, use your new card within 90 days of your account opening and they went back to June the day I applied! I just can’t believe this company can get away with that. I did not get my card in a timely manner. If I do not activate the card, how can I have a true account. What a rip off they are!! I don’t trust them at all and they care nothing of their customers. If anyone has any suggestions I have an open ear to try to fight this.

On the afternoon of Saturday, July 26, 2025, I visited the ATM in front of the Bank of America location at 9649 Barker Cypress Rd, Cypress, TX 77433, with my family to deposit $3,800 in cash. Unfortunately, I accidentally deposited the money into the cash dispenser instead of the deposit slot. The machine shut down, and I was unable to retrieve the funds. I called the bank immediately, still at the ATM, and informed them of what had happened. The agent took my information and stated that they would investigate the matter. They credited the amount to my account on July 28, 2025. The following morning, on July 27, 2025, I had to travel for work, which prevented me from visiting the bank that week. My initial claim was denied on September 20, 2025. My wife and I then visited the bank on September 21, 2025, to dispute the claim denial, and it was reopened.
The associate who assisted us confirmed that there was more cash in the ATM than they had accounted for. This revelation upset the branch manager because we were not supposed to receive that information. However, the claim was reopened, only to be denied again on September 11, 2025. My wife and I revisited the bank and requested that they review the footage from the cameras and reopen our claim. The manager responded defensively, expressing uncertainty about how much of the surplus amount belonged to us. She stated that the associate should never have mentioned the surplus and emphasized that we needed to be very clear and precise about the amount we deposited. Fast forward to 11 days later, on September 22, 2025, the reopened claim was denied, as I believed that no thorough investigation had been conducted by the claims team or the bank.
To provide some context, my wife and I have been banking with Bank of America for approximately 20 years. I have used BOFA for years. For some unexplained reason, payments from the checking account were put on hold, despite having more than enough funds available. Clearly, a mistake was made on the technical side of BOFA, but it took many weeks to fix. Customer service was bureaucratic and cumbersome. Late fees and interest were charged by the businesses I pay, as a result. BOFA has not reimbursed me to date for this. If there is a problem, I have learned that BOFA has too many layers of bureaucracy to resolve any issue efficiently.

What has happened to "customer service"? It sure is NOT at this branch or through their 800-service number, unless you speak Spanish or **! We moved from Wells Fargo after being with them since 1989, That is 36 Years! Until recently we never had a single problem with them. Out of only FOUR, yes FOUR attempts to conduct a very simple transaction at this branch we are left upset and not being able to take care of our simple transaction! In my many years of dealing with small hometown banks to larger nationwide banks I have NEVER experienced a bank as bad as Bank of America... Since when does a bank not accept CASH as a deposit into a checking account?
I opened the new account online and it would not allow me to add her. It told me I had to contact BOA direct IN A BRANCH and no other way to add her to the account. I called the 800-customer service number and was told they would send me another PIN for the card, but I had to use the PIN they chose and not the one I chose. Since when does a simple four-digit code work? Looks like we are starting the search for a new bank because we sure are NOT staying with these Idiots...!

I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience with Bank of America left me deeply frustrated and disheartened. After depositing a check, a misunderstanding arose regarding its processing. Instead of working with me to resolve the issue, the bank chose to withhold the funds without clear justification. I provided all necessary documentation and clarification, yet their customer representatives remained inflexible and dismissive.
What made matters worse was the cold demeanor of the personal bankers I spoke with. There was no empathy, no effort to understand my situation—just a robotic repetition of policy. I wasn’t asking for special treatment, just a fair review and a little human kindness. Instead, I felt like I was being punished for a simple mistake. Banking should be built on trust and communication. Sadly, this experience made me question both. I hope Bank of America reconsiders how it trains its staff to handle customer concerns—especially when the issue involves access to personal funds.

Just be aware that sometimes when you put money in Bank of America it's a little difficult to get it out. We put some insurance money into Bank of America account and were told that it's no problem to come in and split the money later. Now when we go in to do that they say oh you've got to have a debit card or you've got to have a code sent to your phone. They wouldn't accept any other ID. It's got to be one of those two things. So even though it's your money you can't take it out unless you have what they want. But of course they don't tell you that beforehand. And yes, it was a large amount but it was a large amount when we put it in and nobody ever mentioned having to have all that when it was taken out. Go elsewhere.

I recently visited this Bank of America branch (1230 Parkway Ave STE 106, West Trenton, NJ 08628) with my father to withdraw cash. While I could have used the ATM, I specifically wanted $100 bills, so I figured, 'Why not go inside and speak to a human?' Big mistake. The branch was spotless, quiet, and oddly peaceful… probably because no actual work was happening. We were greeted with a smile by one gentleman, and then — like characters in a low-budget spy movie — I noticed a handful of employees peeking at us from behind their translucent glass partitions. I counted at least four staff members, including the manager, all having casual conversations and taking leisurely strolls around the office like they were in a mall, not a bank.
Meanwhile, there was just one cashier, assisting an elderly customer. Fair enough — everyone deserves attention. But what followed was a brilliant display of how not to help the next customers in line. My father and I waited patiently — for a solid 10 minutes — expecting that maybe, just maybe, someone would acknowledge our presence or open another counter. Nope. They just kept walking around, talking, occasionally glancing at us as if we were part of the furniture. Even the manager — with a permanent smirk that could rival a sitcom character — chose not to intervene. I guess watching customers wait is the new BOA training module?
Eventually, I gave up, walked over to the ATM, took out my money (in whatever bills it gave), and turned around with a cheerful, “Thank you for your quick and prompt service!” — because sarcasm was the only service available that day. This experience was frustrating, awkward, and frankly disrespectful. It felt like we were invisible, or worse — entertainment. I went in for help and came out with a reminder of why so many people are ditching traditional banks.

I used to be responsible with money and always paid my credit cards on time. I took pride in having good credit because it meant stability and opportunities for me. Then COVID hit, and my entire life changed. I got very sick, had to fight for my life, and couldn’t work. As a result, I fell behind on my bills. My once-strong credit fell apart, and the stress of that has stayed with me ever since.
On May 16, 2025, I was served with a Summons & Complaint from Lloyd & McDaniel, representing Bank of America for my past credit card debt. The moment I received those papers, I froze with fear. I knew my credit was ruined, but I never expected to be sued. I would love to pay Bank of America what I owe, but my finances never recovered after COVID. The damage to my credit already felt like punishment enough — but Bank of America didn’t stop there. They’ve chosen to pursue me in court, adding even more stress, fear, and depression to an already difficult situation.
I want to warn others: be careful when doing business with Bank of America. If you ever face financial hardship, they may not show you compassion. Instead, they’ll come after you legally, even when you’re already down. I’m not proud to have ruined my credit. I was proud when it was good, and I wish I could go back. But life happens, and sometimes survival has to come first. I hope sharing this helps others be aware of what could happen. Having a negative impact on your credit score isn't good enough for BOA. Bank of America will come after you in court to ruin your life for money you don't have. VERY STRESSFUL.

My online receipt noted that my funds would be available the next business day so I can pay what I needed to which was a deadline for me. The next day my account now specifies that my funds are on hold for an additional 6 days before they make the funds available. I call the branch and they said they couldn't help in releasing the funds and was routed to customer service. The only thing I got my the supervisor and manager in customer service was that they could do nothing to release my funds earlier because "the system" has deemed that this process will take 7 days.
I explained my dire situation to everyone i spoke to and pretty much got an I'm sorry for your current situation but that's nothing humanly possible we can do to get YOUR money to you sooner so you can fix your problem. This is a poor excuse of valuing the customer within a bureaucratic process where they could care less about your problems and helping find a solution that affects your life. The manager just kept telling me that the system said it will be available on the 7th day and there's no way to override that process. Needless to say. I will be closing this account and finding a financial institution that cares about my problem and allows me to utilize MY FUNDS.
I have never encountered this at another bank who were able to override the hold They put on my account stating that the system essentially hijacked my money and there's nothing they can do. So if you're OK with BofA taking control of your hard earned money and only allowing you access when they want to give it to you, by all means go bank with them. I should note that based on the information, I have had ONLY ONE past due payment (of $53.00) in the 16-year period of being a bank customer (see copy below).
In their notification, the bank informed me that the reason for denying my request was due to one of the following:
*Current or past delinquency (one missed payment of $53 in 192 months??)
* Strenght of payment (Reduced my credit limit from $12,000 to $500??)
*Total balance on trades (no idea what this means!)
Since the above reasons are not enough for such a drastic change, I assume the Bank has taken such a determination due to my hispanic origin or the fact that I am a registered Republican.

Sue vs. Susan didn't pass muster even though it was a notarized signature? So we went back and got a 2nd notarized document with Sue, since that was on the bank account as POD. We sent that on May 31. Guess what??? Just got notice that the disbursement of funds was held up for all PODs because Sue signed as Susan!!!! They can't read or look at files either.

She was talking to my husband and me as if we were children. She was more interested in showing us her basic computer skills. I asked for the deposit slip at least 4 times. When she came back from making the deposit, I asked for the deposit slip. She never listened to our needs. She told us it is online. When we got home, the dep was in the statement. This is how much she listens. We had to go back and get it.
We needed more paperwork for what we had to do, so we made another appt. This time, I told her how she spoke to us, and we are aware of how to use a computer. I also said to her that she didn't listen to our needs about the dep slip. She became insulted and then had an attitude. Never said she was sorry. She had to scan the paperwork to the corporation. I asked how long it would take, as we needed to get this completed. She then became snippy and said we should have done this last year. My had enough of her and said, "Whoa, Whoa, my mom wasn't in a nursing home last year." She then went and got her manager.
After she left, I told my husband she was an idiot. The manager came into the office, slammed his palms on the desk, and pointed his neck at us. It was frightening. He started yelling at us and said we can't call his banker an idiot. I was telling him I said that to my husband and not her. He proceeded to tell me to be quiet and not to talk. This was out of a bad movie....He then said his name is Mike and he is a banker, his wife is a banker, and his son is a banker. My mind was thinking, who the hell cares?
I wanted to leave, but we really needed this done. He then said for us to leave HIS bank. What, what, he owns the bank..WOW, what a bully and bigshot. He left the office, and we did too. We went to another branch after I called and made an appointment. The banker was Mallory, and what a sweetheart. We told her our experience, and she told her manager, who came in and apologized to us. They were very hospitable, and they were extremely sorry for how we were treated at the first branch we went to. What the bank does is not making payments to checks or bills that are sent first especially larger amounts. They would put payments on processing & then denied it at the end of the day when there’s sufficient money in the account.
I received a text & an email to confirm if I recognized this payment. I responded saying yes. Then from yesterday to today the bank denied my payment without not notifying me. Yet, they notified me about the large amount on the check to confirm. It’s the worst bank. I want to switch, but the paperwork to filled out to transfer to another bank & my payroll department. My auto pay was set for $200 a month so why it took the whole thing I do not know especially when it had all been paid on the 2nd. The really bad part is that it drained my entire checking account which left me high and dry. I called on the 16th and the lady was helpful and set up the account to refund the money but it would take 10 days to give me my money back. I asked who was going to pay my bills because the amount they took was over $4000. I asked who was going to pay the overdraft fees because this was not my fault.
The woman had checked to see why it did what it did but she could find no reason. I asked her to talk to someone higher up to see what could be done because this created a hardship for me and I was being penalized for something that was not my fault. She came back after to talking to the supervisor who told her to tell be that this was just the policy and nothing could be done about it. This is WRONG!!!! Bank of America mishandled my debit card / checking account billing disputes originally submitted on May 29, 2025. These were incorrectly processed as fraud claims, despite clear evidence that my disputes were related to items not received, defective items, and unfulfilled merchant refund promises—not unauthorized transactions. On June 9, I was told my claim would be correctly reopened as a single bulk billing dispute. On June 12, I was informed the dispute had been transferred to the proper department. On June 18, a rep named Rebecca stated that chargebacks were issued and provisional credits were being escalated. However, on June 20, I was told no such actions had occurred, and the Billing Dispute department had only just received the claim. I was further told the 90-day review period would only start after individual disputes are refiled, due to the initial misclassification.
On June 20 I filed a complaint with the CFPB outlining these details and the following business day, June 23, 2025 I was contacted by the bank to provide details for the disputes to be opened properly. I was also contacted by Katherine ** of the Regulatory Complaints Department of Bank of America, who informed me that she would be in charge of handling my complaint. Since that date, I have contacted the bank several times to inquire about the provisional credits that I requested to be applied and was told on June 27, 2025 that my requests were escalated to the "back office".
On June 30, 2025, I called the bank again and was told that there is no such thing as escalating provisionary credit requests, and that my requests are denied due to "the nature of the disputes" (items not received, unfulfilled refunds, etc.). However, the bank did issue provisional credits for approximately 4 of the 25 disputes and ALL 25 disputes were of the same "nature". Though these disputed charges are all related to purchases made online with my debit card, the bank is claiming that the disputes do not fall under Regulation E, even though Regulation E includes the definition of Electronic Fund Transfers as purchases made with a debit card.
I sent emails to and left voicemail messages for Katherine ** of the Regulatory Complaints of Bank of America, asking for further assistance with this issue, and she has declined to respond to me. It seems that in order to get this bank to follow the law and do their job, they need to be prompted by the CFPB, only then do they take me seriously. Therefore, I closed my original CFPB complaint to open this new complaint, amended to include the most recent lack of action on the part of the bank.
Additionally, a provisional credit was applied for a disputed charge in the amount of $329.20 from merchant OFFICIAL BAND SHI and I was contacted by the bank on June 30, 2025 informing me that the credit was going to be reversed as the merchant provided documentation of the transaction. What the merchant provided was a copy of the tracking / delivery information from the Post Office. However, this order only included 3 of the approximately 20 items I had ordered from the merchant, all 3 of which were returned and promptly refunded by the merchant. However, I never received the remainder of my order and was told that each outstanding item would be sent separately as the merchant received the ordered items in stock. Due to the unclear filing of this dispute by the bank, I have had to reopen / appeal that decision and ask for reconsideration using the correct details for the dispute. May 29, 2025.
Katherine **, Alfonso **, and Aleatha ** are the 3 different BOA Resolution Specialists who have been assigned to my case and have done NOTHING. Their response to CFPB was required within 15 days of my complaint so on the 15th day BOA responded by stating they "are still working on it". Avoid this bank at all costs. I experienced a serious financial discrepancy, and instead of resolving it, the bank rushed to justify the appropriation of funds they clearly did not earn. Their response was dismissive, evasive, and unacceptable. I reported their actions to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Better Business Bureau. This is not an isolated issue—just look at the overwhelming number of 1-star reviews. They speak for themselves. This bank operates in a way that borders on fraudulent. Do yourself a favor and bank elsewhere. You deserve transparency and accountability—not excuses and shady behavior.

First, I closed my credit cards with BOA because I was being charged randomly on my credit card for things I never bought. I ended up going back because my now wife and a rich lady I knew used BOA and I liked that you could get $100 bills directly from ATMS anywhere. The banker said that there was a promotion where I get $300 if I connect my direct deposit from my job within 3 months. What he failed to mention was I would be charged a fee if I didn’t set up a direct deposit. I was furious and full of regret for going to this bank. I was busy with school, work and family obligations and put it off for about 3 months of fees. I ended up going to the bank to talk about these fees but also to close my account because I wanted nothing to do with a bank that would do something like this. When I sat down with the banker with my wife, he told me what brought us in and I said I’d like to close my account.
He proceeded to say that I had a negative balance on my account (it was only negative because of the fees they applied every month, I used the account for one transaction but was scared to put any more than $100 I put when I opened the account). I told him that I was charged a fee every month but the guy that opened the account said there weren’t any fees when I asked him if there were. The banker proceeded to say the guy didn’t say anything because of the $300 reward that I said I’d set up to get the rewards within the time period. But I didn’t go through with it because I decided to not deal with Bank of America because of my suspicions with the credit card transactions from the past. I’m in shock and I call the banker out and say that the banker who opened the account didn’t disclose the correct information with me and mislead my belief on the account not having any fees.
The guy still said there was nothing he could do (he looked upset too) and then he said I’d have to pay it if I’d want to close my account, I made the decision to just pay it and not let them take any more money from me. He asked if I had cash and I said no and he asked if I had a Bank of America card. I said yes. He takes my wife and I to the front and he tells me to get my card and I pull out my Wells Fargo card to make the payment because the BOA card was in the negative and he says no sir you need your BOA card. We go back to his desk and he asks if I have Zelle so I can Zelle the money from Wells Fargo to the account. I ask him if my phone number or email is connected to the BOA Account I I’d know if I should Zelle my email or phone number since BOA and Wells Fargo are both connected to Zelle with different contact information. He gets upset and says I need to figure out what to do.
I say I’ll Just get cash out with my Wells Fargo card from the atm even though I knew I’d be charged a fee and he says sir you really need to figure out what your going to do because your wasting my time. I get upset because this encounter has been nothing but disrespectful and say “Got It” and just walk away to the ATM and my wife asks to speak to a manager. We ended up not going back to his desk, instead were helped by the manager. The manager wasn’t rude and closed the account right away. She said she would leave a review for us and talk to him too, from the way she spoke. I felt like she was lying about even leaving a review because that’s obviously a ding on their location. So I am here to say IF YOU WANT THE WORST EXPERIENCE, TO BE LEGALLY SCAMMED AND STOLEN MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT then go to BANK OF AMERICA.
