The worst thing is waiting on hold. Then they answer and you can't understand the person cause they outsource their phone support. Cheap **. Anyway, I paid off a loan and never received confirmation. I had to wait on hold for forever, then talk to an incompetent employee to have a single piece of paper sent to me, stating the loan was paid in full. I waited almost 2 months and nothing after I made the final payment. It's all about records, right, proof that I paid off the loan, that would have been the right and moral thing to do. But hey, they couldn't collect interest off of me, so ** him.

I have been with B of A for a very long time, just over 27 years. I am a premier customer, they give me an extra .75% back on my credit card purchases over the standard amount. They gave me a 1.99% auto loan, Credit limit on my B of A visa is $30,000. I do have a large savings account with them as well. I have NEVER had any sort of problem with this bank. It looks like to me that most of the complaints are due to people not managing their accounts properly and then blaming the bank. I also have my business accounts at B of A and again they are just a FANTASTIC bank.

I've been with Bank of America since 2010, when I was a college student. It Friday finally payday. 2017, has been a challenging financial gather about 7,000-8,000 in debt. Finally, thing could turn around. I can bust my butt and begin to reverse the damage, right? Nope, went to bank ready to deposit my paycheck and teller tells me "You don't seem to have an account with us." Me, "???"... Called customer service and they tell me, "Your account been closed." Me, "What about the money I had in my checking and savings?" Her response, "If you can prove the money belongs to you." Me, "???WTF???"

Went back to bank to speak with them in person, "Oh your account not closed. It frozen, here a number call them Wednesday"... Me, "That isn't going to help me put gas in my car to get to work." I think me and Bank of America are getting a divorce, 2016-2017 Bank of America has become that husband that is abusive and manipulating. I deposited my check then get charge a late fee, make a payment on my credit card and bam late fee. I'm sorry your bank has gone downhill on its customer service and satisfaction.

I always have bills that I didn't wrote removed and it is three times at once from my account. And whenever I call where my money is going they telling me they only take one time the money the other two ask Bank of America. When you ask Bank of America why am I overdraft I had money in my account my money isn't there and I didn't wrote no bills on top of that. Bill supposed to be 500 but they took 1500. Why. They can't not answer at all. And it is keep happening day and night no matter what is in my account 2000/30000/500 don't matter I'm overdrafted. That's pure scam.

The other thing every time they overdraft you your card won't work and online log won't work. So you won't see the overdraft. By time 24 hours later when you fix that's when you see and if you ask why my card and online bank wasn't working they will say because someone used in another location which is false. You can say someone used another location but why my online login don't work. Why I don't see someone used another place in my statements. They lie Bank of America and scam people. It's not their first time and not the last time it always happens. Unless I cancel Bank of America.

I try to be very careful with the way I pay my bills and told my wife to deposit a check on Tuesday and I knew I was getting funds on Wednesday early morning ACH. They returned the check on Tuesday itself, charged me NSF. I used my debit card in around 10 PM on Tuesday and that worked fine which would decline if it was NSF. They are just looking into stealing to make money. Bunch of Corporate Robbers.

I feel I need to write this review because I cannot let this corrupt greedy corporation get away with what they do. On September 12-13 I deposited $600.00 cash into their drive up ATM. I choose not to get down because I had my newborn in the car and I figured cash was an immediate deposit so it would show instantly. I put the money in and completed my transaction, the machine glitched on completing and said my transaction had processed but was unable to print out a receipt.

I figured it was ok since it said it had “processed”. Needless to say it was not processed and the cash was not in my account. I was already home and checked my account online. I file a claim as soon as possible because this obviously was not the first time this happened to me. I of course was tossed around while they connected me to the “right people”, which they do not tell the public the outside ATMs are actually run by other sources that are NOT AFFILIATED WITH B OF A, which begs the differ WHO THE HECK RUNS YOUR ATMS???

Long story short drive up to the ATM it eats my cash and it DISAPPEARS??? Literally Bank of America will not take responsibility for this and I filed a claim twice and they are not giving me MY CASH DEPOSIT! They are claiming it was never deposited. With no receipt in my hands it really is my word vs theirs. I have been a long time customer and just opened a business account with them a year ago, I will never do business with Bank of America again! And I sure did close all my accounts with them. I will not be back. I cannot believe Bank of America robbed me blind.

I have an excellent credit rating and had sufficient funds in my checking account when I used my debit card to pay a vendor. Without my authorization, B of A decided to decline paying this vendor (without my permission). I am astonished that they can withhold payment when I have more than adequate funds -- without even asking me! I believe this is illegal, but in these times, who knows? What I know is that I am going to change banks. They have themselves convinced this falls under "Fraud Protection." All it took was an email to verify whether this is true or not. Probably getting more interest on the "float" is the real incentive. They're terrible!

I requested to have a business account closed with Bank of America due to the other person trying to engage in fraud against me. The only money that was due to me is one hundred dollars because in order to activate a business account, one must deposit one hundred dollars into the business checking account. To their credit, they took the rest of the money out of the account, closed the account and sent me an eighty five dollar check. However, they refused to give me the fifteen dollars that is due to me saying, "A portion of the remaining balance won't be returned to you because we're determined the funds aren't due to you." How does Bank of America know that money that is due to me is not due to me? How did they determine this. Simply put, Bank of America owes me $15 dollars.

BofA does absolutely nothing to help the consumer. I have been trying to stop recurring charges on my account after trying to go through the company and stop it that way. It has not worked and I am continuing to be charged. I have been an account holder for over 20 years and still I received absolutely no help. After an hour on the phone with BofA, they told me that there is nothing that they can do and to contact the businesses individually to stop the charges. I told them many times that I have tried this many times, yet BofA has nothing they can do.

They do absolutely nothing to protect the consumer and nothing to help you at all. I can't even get them to do something as simple as stop charges. They said that on their end it does not say recurring charges despite the fact that my statement says recurring... They kept denying that they are recurring charges and were unable to help at all. They can't do what every other bank can do. I have been a Capital One customer for only one year and they have done more for me than Bank of America has done in over 20 years.

Each month I get a check from AAP (Adoption Assistance Program) that's drawn on Bank of America. This afternoon I went to branch in Oakhurst California, like I've done many times before to cash it. Donna ** was at the window, and informed me that something's wrong with the check, and she won't cash it. She said I had to contact the issuer of the check. I went outside and called the AAP, by the way it's a Los Angeles County check. Yen, the person in charge there told me there was nothing wrong with the check. So I went back and told Donna to please go ahead and called Yen, which she refused. I also offered my social security card, or another ID, she didn't want any of it.

Finally I asked her for the number of the manager but she said she was the manager. On her card it said that she's the assistant only. She did give me a piece of paper with the name Marilee ** on it, and this phone number. I called it several times but only an answering machine picks up, doesn't say anything like who it's was. Anyways, I left a message but haven't heard back yet.

Called BoA to find out why my money were not transferred using Zelle instantly from my Chase debit card to Bank of America debit card. The first representative tried to understand what is going on by looking at my transactions. After being with her on the phone for more than 5 minutes (not including the wait time for available rep), she said that she doesn't know why the money were never transferred. Then, she said that she will transfer me to Transfer department and they will be able to help me out.

When someone else picked up the phone, that someone else wasn't the transfer department, but it was Credit card department. I had to explain the issue again. At the end, I was told that they can't help me since their department deals with only credit cards. I was transferred to another place. Machine was asking me to enter either social security number or debit card number. I entered SS# and then machine asked me to enter my debit card number. Why in the world would you ask to enter either SS or Debit Card, and then when one of them is entered, ask me again to enter the second? By the time I got my Debit card numbers (which probably took me 15 secs), machine said "Bye". WTH???

A few weeks ago I went inside the bank to withdraw money from my checking account. I am a senior citizen with an expired driver's license. When I went up to the teller, I was asked for a valid for license of ID. They would not allow me to withdraw from my account due to my expired driver's license. I look like the person on my driver's license. They do have a photocopy of this very license when I had opened an account with them one year ago. I asked them if they would like to see my SS#, but they said that is not valid, even though they have record of my number. I said I don't drive anymore. I was then told to go outside and withdraw my money with my ATM card. Go figure!

I feel compelled to take the time to write this review in light of my recent experience with Bank of America. So on the 20th of October I was paid my bi weekly check, so as a person that lives pay check to pay check I set out to pay my bills. Even before I start running any bills Bank Of America put my account on a fraudulent block. This caused my bills to be processed and returned, then I proceeded to go about my weekly errands. Once all my bills cleared it caused my account to be negative an excessive of $600.00. Then I called Bank of America to clear it all up and their so called customer service person proceeded to argue with me and blame me. Not once did they apologize for the mix up or offer to help fix the problem. The bank also charged me $105 dollars in overdraft fees that were caused by them. It's appalling that this is how greedy corporations conduct business...

Bank of America is the worst. My account was recently closed from the risk department without any communication to let me know if there was fraud on my account. They just immediately closed the account. So when I got paid from my job it direct deposited into the closed account. I called the risk department to try and get access to my funds. I spoke to two agents who were suppose to do a release of funds, but the 2 never did it. I finally reached a 3rd agent. She was about to put in the request for the release of funds. I called back the next day just to see if is there anything I could to get access to my money sooner, I spoke with a supervisor. He was very rude he wouldn't even let me talk without interrupting me. He offered to send another release of funds which would take another 3 business days. I advised him that I already spoke with someone to do that. Moral of the story is I would not recommend anyone to go Bank of America.

When I called in to report it the customer service rep said that I could only claim the $200 that had processed in my checking account and would have to call back to report the $200 from my savings account tomorrow. Wait... what? So the transaction is showing on my mobile app and I can't process a claim on it? Then she transfers me to claims and I waited on hold for 2 HOURS. YEP. You read that right. TWO HOURS. I made a deposit at Bank of America. 10-14-2017 when I originally made the deposit everything went well no problems, like normal. Bank of America took 300 hundred dollars and made it available to me right away and it stated on the deposit that the remainder of the money because it was a check it will be ready on the 16th of the month, so I went ahead and paid for my cell phone bill. Come Monday I noticed a problem in my account and know it stated that the money would be ready on the 19th of the month so my wife went ahead and made arrangement to pay for the house and the car. So on the 18th I checked to make sure that the money is all set. Not only my account was in the negative, I called to see why this happen. I was told that the bank deemed that the owner of the check could return the check so now they have to hold the check till the 24th of the month, (at this time Bank of America had the funds).

I asked then why did Bank of America released fund and took them back, the check did not bounce, plus the owner of the check was willing to call them or go down to the bank to talk to them so they can release the funds and that the person that wrote the check called his bank and talked to his banker. They told him and they can show proof that the check has been cleared on their part. The customer service rep told me that I am pretty much telling a lie to them that the bank would not tell the person that wrote the check if the check has been cleared or not. There is no way anyone could know that, no remorse or sympathy. He pretty much told me that the bank will not reverse anything or do anything for me because they do not yet know if the person that wrote the check is going to say it was not him that wrote it.

Did not make any sense to me so I kindly asked him to transfer me because he kept on telling me he understand and he can’t help and no one can, and I stated to him again and again that he does not understand that I can’t be late on my mortgage payment for my car and that they have to be paid, that Bank of America does not make it clear to me that my funds will not be in. They changed the due date 3 time on me. Why, he did not know so I asked again to be transferred because he rude and heartless. Also he told me, “Yes I would transfer you but I need to set up expectation that no one is able to help you.” I told him that I did not care for his attitude and the expectation. I just wanted to talk to someone else. It is a shame a bank as big as Bank of America would treat someone in distress this way not caring if they are going to become homeless or carless.

I tell you one thing whenever you start giving people empty promises like Bank of America gave me, and how they do not care for their client well being I would urge everyone that is thinking of becoming a Bank of America customer not to do it because you will be treated like a number without regards that you are a human being. And be aware when you make a deposit. They do not stand by their due date nor would they care even though everything is on the up and up. I am 44 years of age a father of 3. I have never in my entire life been treated so badly and like this. I asked everyone to be aware of Bank of America and think twice before you do any business with them period.

My husband barely uses his debit card and forgot his pin. He went to Customer Service at the 5900 Core Ave, North Charleston, SC branch to have his pin re-issued and they asked him for a verbal passcode. Neither of us can remember ever having set up a verbal passcode. Back in July he had lost his wallet in the field (military) and needed a new debit card, so we understand they were being extra cautious. However, he presented them with his new debit card that was issued to him in July, a federal military ID and a state issued Driver License.

He looks exactly like his pictures on the IDs and he even has a picture on his debit card, yet they refused service to him because he didn't know a "verbal passcode" which is supposedly used over the phone as I found out when I called the Preferred member customer service line to complain about this incident. The person I talked to apologized profusely and said this should not have happened based on the fact he was there in person and provided IDs. So in short- Bank of America doesn't seem to care to verify the person actually standing in front of them against their IDs but would rather have a verbal passcode to verify. This entire scenario has left me absolutely flabbergasted.

The FBI and the FTC ass well as the Attorney General (Pam Bondi) are all aware of the following: **, the manager of a Bank of America branch located at 18400 NW 67th Ave Hialeah Florida opened a business account on or about August 12-14, 2017 for Star Luxury Trades, Inc. (account Routing # ** Account # ** whose president/principal is a woman named Maitee **. Bank of America opened this account by requesting only a photo ID and a copy of the incorporation papers. This company is a criminal enterprise and its owner is a convicted felon who was incarcerated many times for fraud.

This company/woman stole my wife's and my $91,500 through a wire-transfer scam, which directed that amount to be sent directly to her account. The CEO and his executive assistant (see below), along with their fraud department and their attorneys are all aware of this situation. I was the person who, on Friday, Sept 1, 2017, within a few hours of learning that our money (for a real estate property) had been diverted to this sham company (through a series of email interceptions and misdirections and impersonations). Googled the company and the BeenVerified the president of the company. The company incorporated in Florida on August 12, 2017 and its president's photo ID immediately came up as a mugshot with 14 pages of info on convictions and frauds and incarcerations.

Bank of America says it cannot return the money to my wife and me because "they have to protect the privacy of their customer" and "only if the customer agrees can Bank of America return the money." Well, we are told the money is gone out of that account and Bank of America cannot get it back. Bank of America did not follow due diligence in following the procedures spelled out in both the Bank Secrecy Act Manual as well as the Patriot's Act to "Know Your Customer" and for a "Customer Identification Program." It took me less than 5 minutes to find out the identity of this thief (terrorist??) and that her company was one of two that were shams. Yet Bank of America has "to protect the privacy of their customer" - a CRIMINAL or a terrorist??? Where did our stolen money go - to North Korea? To a terrorist group??

IN this day and age -- Bank of America only needs a Photo ID and a set of papers to open a business account for someone in their bank??? What about using common sense and take two minutes to Google and BeenVerified a prospective customer before accepting their business? Here is our proposal to Bank of America - Mr. Brian T. Moynihan CEO and Karen ** -Executive Assistant). MY WIFE AND I WILL DONATE $10,000 to any organization of Bank of America's choice that is currently assisting victims of the recent hurricanes and fires and Las Vegas massacre - IF BANK OF AMERICA RETURNS OUR MONEY ($91,500) STOLEN BY ONE OF THEIR BUSINESS ACCOUNT "CUSTOMERS" - WHO IS A CONVICTED FELON USING BANK OF AMERICA AS A TOOL TO STEAL AND LAUNDER MONEY.

Bank of America can also choose to match that amount - that would be $20,000 going immediately to where it is needed most. Tell Bank of America to give the ** back their money. They are "protecting the privacy of their customer" - who, as I proved to them - is a thief and a scammer. The FBI and Homeland Security and the FTC and FCC all know about this situation, but Bank of America will not give us back our stolen $91,500... Email Mr. Brian T. Monyihan (CEO) at

I have been a loyal and long time customer of Bank of America for over 10 years, since 2005 or 2006. Over the years, I have transitioned all my accounts to other banks due to repeated and major customer service offenses. Recently (September 2017) my broker did a soft credit check for me and my nearly perfect credit score had dropped by 100 points due to 2 months of late payments on my Bank of America credit card for $1.97. For months I have been unable to log onto their online banking portal because I keep getting locked and am required to change my password each time which, takes 30 -40 mins in each instance due to your authorization codes not coming in a timely manner.

I am a new mother and work full time so it's very difficult for me to continually have to carve out 30min-1hour at a time to resolve these online banking login issues. Furthermore, this being for a credit card I rarely use because I cannot autopay my bill. If you look back at my account you will notice I had called before about autopay and was told that function didn't exist, which is why I was advised by your customer service staff to set up payments for $50 at a time. After a while, I stopped those payments of $50 a month because I was not even spending that money. All of these reasons have made it extremely inconvenient for me to access and pay for my account. For all my account, I use online banking as it's the most convenient and time effective means for me to access my accounts and pay bills.

The only reason I had not closed my accounts are because I didn't want to affect my credit score by closing a line of credit which I've had for a number of years. I have since closed my account and still have $19 of rewards which could have been applied to the $1.97 balance on my account. Please note that I did not ever receive my balance of $19 dollars back. From my credit report you can see I have many accounts in addition to a mortgage that I pay and have always paid on time and in full. I contacted the president's office on numerous occasions and they were unable to resolve my simple request to reverse the delinquent reporting and send that information that it has been reversed in writing.

It goes without saying that this whole experience with BOA bank and this follow up investigation has been extremely horrendous and has wasted so much of my valuable time. I encourage all my friends, family and entire network to NOT do business with Bank of America. In particular as a working mother, BOA has no concern for families or their well being. It's appalling the lack of time I already don't have as a working mom to spend with my child compared to the time I've had to waste on trying to pay my credit card for $1.97, money which I do have as well as the time I've had to spend for "maybe" a resolution.

I have been simply asking for a letter stating that BOA will be reversing the delinquent reporting as I have been repeatedly unable to log into my account online to pay this tiny and inconsequential bill and accurately report my credit and payment history. I am being neglected because I am no longer a customer and I am being discriminated against as a mother who is trying to prioritize her family over $1.97.

In my opinion, this not the very worst bank around, but, this bank is one of many, that needs to be better regulated by the US Government for its practices of holding down the hard working, lower to middle class (paycheck to paycheck) customers from becoming successful and EVER getting ahead. If you live paycheck to paycheck and have banked at one of your popular banks in town for a while, I don't need to explain this but, for those who don't, and care about the people who struggle to make ends meet - here's what I mean. It's a vicious cycle. You are working paycheck to paycheck and sooner or later you will have an overdraft. And then, another, and so on. Next thing you know, your small business is now getting long holds on your deposits because of these unregulated policy made up by BOFA.

For instance, since you have multiple overdrafts, they will now put holds on your deposits and these can be 10 days. Like we can wait another 10 days to get paid?? This is not just morally wrong. It's downright cruel! And explaining this to customer service, managers, will only waste hours of your time getting contradicting different stories of their policy on this. At this point, it is hopeless because your chances of getting overdrafts are now far greater and before you know it, the bank is taking so much money out of your pay in overdraft fees, etc. that it is impossible to get ahead.

At this point, you are in the grips of an ugly situation that is hopeless. Your monthly balance is now hard just to keep in the positive so then, guess what happens? You are now getting a monthly service fee added to the money being drained from your account on top of everything that is now going wrong for the customer. These policies are obviously designed to be in the banks best interest and in a way that is impossible to get out of unless you find another bank that is not a part of these toxic policies.

I have had a small business account for many years with BOFA and have tried a few other banks and they all operate very similar. This is the scary thing which I pray will one day be regulated by law to put a stop to this. Like an organized gang of bully companies in competition to see how much and how many crafty ways they can take away the working class, paycheck to paycheck, customer's hard earned money! This is horrible, and to me, it’s a terrible crime going on every day in the USA. I like to keep the "F" in BOA because that's exactly what's going on here in America. We are getting raped relentlessly and I hope our government takes notice of this and puts a stop to these large bank corporations taking our hard earned money. Why not these banks just be fair??? A bank is supposed to be in the customers best interest and protect its customer's money. This is the total opposite going on here.

I have even had numerous times where BOFA, and a couple other banks were taking several of my debit/credit card transactions that were cleared and days later, my account was overdrawn by me for a short time during the day, and went back online to see that those several transactions went back into "processing" mode, then re-arranged in a way that they could get a $35 overdraft fee for all of them. This is hundreds of dollars we are talking here. Stolen and in a very crafty, sneaky way. This happened many times. Remember hearing about the class action lawsuit? Has much changed? What's next?

I also notice that there are BOFA branches that seem to always be under staffed and has only one teller, that is overwhelmed working both the drive thru and the people waiting in line for a very long time getting upset, late for this or that. The issue here, is there is one person working their ass off while there's a long line of people complaining and getting upset because of the wait. The whole time, there is a manager just walking around pretending like everything's fine and one person sitting in an office talking to someone who’s upset about something. Why are there not more tellers if they are making so much money from us being their customers?!?! Is there a bigger financial problem with the banking system we don't know about that they need to charge us in a cruel, relentless and calculated, vicious cycle, manner while holding our deposits, refusing to cash checks, etc., etc... Something is very wrong here.

I am fortunate enough to accept this is really happening and have cut my losses with these mainstream American banks and am able to now have an account with a trustworthy credit union but, this has always struck me as a very serious problem that needs stricter regulations put in place. This serious issue here, to me, is part of our country's financial problems. Our working class, paycheck to paycheck, people stuck in this vicious cycle could be using all the lost money to spend into our economy, making our country much more financially healthy instead of feeding these, blood thirsty giants, holding us down.

This is all my honest opinion but, from years of experience and trying the few big name, mainstream banks, BOFA is one of them that's a large part of this problem. I see many complaints here and all over the internet, at the bank, etc. and worst of all, have lived this horrible experience. This is no way to live. And, might I add, I highly doubt the positive reviews on here are real customers. Nice try.

All I can say is, if you live paycheck to paycheck, read all the reviews before opening a new account and be aware of what these big mainstream banks are doing because when times are tough, and they certainly will at times, you could fall victim to this horrible way of life, always under stress, depressed, worried, and suffering damages to your credit, late fees on everything, strain and loss of business relationships. Basically everything completely sucks. Be careful. Be smart. Good luck all. Over and out...

Well my account was closed without any warning so I wasn't able to change it at my job. Now I've had 2 checks sent to that account but due to it being closed they can't deposit them. Our son joined the US Air Force. Naturally, the recruiter botched his paperwork and did not put his current banking information in the correct place therefore causing him to not know his routing and account information upon entering boot camp. This ALLOWS BofA (Bank Of America) to open him an account, 2 of them, savings and checking. Let me tell you this has got to be the worst banking institution in this country! They charge for ACH transfers, they charge fees for savings accounts and you can't avoid them by auto-deposits, you CANNOT get a hold of the people via phone unless you spend inordinate amounts of time and frustration playing games with their automated phone system and then finding out it is a 20-30 minute wait. They take inordinate amounts of time to credit OR debit your accounts which always leaves you guessing what your balance actually is.

Chat is usually not available and is useless anyhow because of their extreme privacy policies. If you make a mistake, there is no recourse OR mercy, they WILL charge you. A decent bank will allow you at least ONE mistake without a fee if you ask. This is NOT an institution you want your children to be involved with as it is set up for their FAILURE. JPMorgan/Chase is nearly as bad. I do not recommend them to anyone either. If your son or daughter does get stuck with these fools, get a good account setup that allows free ACH transfers and then initiate the transfers from THAT institution for FREE and then write a letter to close those BofA accounts... They are worthless and BofA does not offer ANYTHING GOOD or worthwhile for a young servicemember... Or anyone else for that fact. I was still concerned so I called customer service. Twice. I spoke to two different associates and was assured that the money was mine. I asked specifically if it had cleared the issuer's bank and was told yes. The money was mine to spend. So, I did.

After three more days Bank of America debited the money out of my account BECAUSE THE ISSUER WOULD NOT PAY IT. I had SPECIFICALLY asked this question and was told the check was NOT a duplicate and they it HAD CLEARED the issuer's bank. Bank of America admits that their employees made a mistake but they will not make it right. Now I can't buy my diabetic meds or my husband's Asthma meds. The last time I tried to cash a week ago a bank in Newport charge me $5. Prior to that I was never charged a dime to charge to cash excuse me a check from a bank that it was issued at. Three years ago, I spoke with someone from customer service about a late charge that I incurred. I had been out of town for three weeks for my father's funeral and in my state of mind at that time, did not remember to pay some of my bills on time. The rep on the phone kept insisting that I give her my father's name, which was bizarre. She said that she wanted to verify his account. I told her that and he had no accounts with BANK OF AMERICA and even if he had, she had no authority to discuss them with me without a power of attorney. She told me that she would remove the late charge as a first-time courtesy, but something about that interaction made me uneasy and a few days later, I decided to follow up on that phone call.

I knew something was wrong as soon as I input my credit card number with my phone keypad, because I was immediately forwarded to the fraud department. The person on the other phone refused to disclose the reason why I was sent to their department and kept interrogating me as if I had committed a fraud. After about 10 minutes of verification, I was finally able to learn that my account had been marked as 'deceased' and had been closed. The crazy chick I spoke with initially had used some kind of twisted logic to determine that I must be deceased because I refused to give her my father's information. I was able to get everything straightened out and thanks to my hunch, this information was not sent to any of the credit reporting agencies.

It could have easily turned into a nightmare - all my credit would have been canceled and my bank accounts frozen if the credit agencies were informed that I was deceased. I contacted the executive office and got a huge apology, but the bigger concern is not some imbecile who was hired to handle sensitive customer information, but the fact that BANK OF AMERICA has no system of checks and balances to prevent customers from being in this situation. There was no reason for that crazy rep to suspect me of fraud, and even if she did not believe that I was who I claimed to be, there should have been a procedure in place that would not allow one person to press a button and cause havoc in someone's financial matters.

More recently, I was calling BOA customer service to get some information on my business checking account and the rep asked me to verify myself with BOTH my FULL social security number AND my FULL driver license number. Am I the only person who is extremely uncomfortable that a low level employee has access to enough unencrypted data to steal my identity? I have never had to provide more than a few digits of my SSNO, and there is no reason for anyone in the call center to see my full driver license number - a few of the first or last digits should be enough. I would love to close all my accounts with BANK OF AMERICA, but my data has already been exposed and it would only hurt my credit.

But they should not be surprised if there is a huge class action lawsuit at some point because of a massive data breach caused by this kind of negligence. I have worked in customer service and I have seen people using all kinds of creative ways to capture customer information from their computer screens. We had someone fired and walking out in handcuffs practically all the time. So why would a major bank be so flippant about security when identity theft is such a well known risk?

On Monday, September 18th, I initiated a pre-approval process on Bank of America's website requesting approval for an auto loan. BOA advertised low percentage rates based upon my "Gold Member" status with the bank. After receiving the rates through an approval portal on their website, we were guided to call and speak to a loan officer with their loan department. On Wednesday, September 20th, my wife contacted the loan officer that was assigned to the loan. We (my wife and I) had already had a vehicle designated for this and we discussed all the terms with them.

At that time we're given a verbal approval of 3.04% APR for the vehicle loan. The representative explained that they would just need to make up the contract and would be forwarding to us shortly. Wednesday came and went, but we had not received the contract. By Thursday afternoon, my wife had contacted the loan officer (I won't include his name, but can provide upon verification of private message) and he explained that the terms had changed and that they were no longer going to honor the pre-approved 3.04% APR that they had promised.

After speaking to another loan officer about the situation, both officers agreed to escalate the problem to their manager. At this time, our original 3.04% offer had disappeared and been replaced by a 3.59% offer through the loan portal. On Friday, September 22nd, we STILL had not heard from the loan department on their decision. After several calls, we were informed that they would most likely make a decision today (Friday the 22nd). At five o'clock we received an e-mail explaining that they had reached a decision and that we could read the decision through the online loan portal that was set up.

There it was again; the approval for the 3.04% interest rate. Ok, so again the instructions were to call the loan officer to make the arrangements to deliver the paperwork. Again, he explained that they would be sending the paperwork over that night, so we could get it signed and they could get the check in processing. Relieved, we went about our business. To explain why this is so frustrating, I think it bears mentioning that we had actually sold her old vehicle after we had initially been promised the 3.04% APR. That was a competitive rate and it made making the decision to purchase a new automobile easy.

The 3.59% rate that was actually delivered is not competitive at all and we would have searched for alternate financing had we known that was going to happen. Also, I have been a member with BOA for more than 15 years and hold numerous accounts with them. Which is the reason that I hold the "Gold Member" status. I would have thought that I would have been treated better than this.

Back to the story. Friday, September 22nd, the day that we received the second 3.04% approval (of which I have pictures) through the portal and spoken to the rep who explained that they would be sending the paperwork over, came and went with NO PAPERWORK. Saturday morning, September 23rd, we reached out to the loan department to find out the status of the contract. They explained that it was "in queue" and that we should get it by Monday. Alright, at least it's being worked on. We can wait.

Two hours go by and we get another message through the loan portal that our paperwork has been submitted and ready for our signature. Finally! So, we open the CONTRACTS and they have CHANGED the APR!!! Again!!! It seems as if they thought that we would just sign the contract and pay no attention to the fact that they have, yet again, decided to not honor their original APR?! I have images of all the approvals received through the portal and then the contract that has a much higher interest rate listed.

I have been on and off with BOA for many years. I opened my first account in high school and used it until my junior year in college. That is when I started noticing all the BS BOA tries to pull on people. I originally closed my account in college because my account kept saying overdrawn even tho I wasn't the one who was overdrawing it. Whenever I asked BOA about it they would lie about a bunch of made up fees. This happened very very often. Fast forward 4 years later and I reopen an account with them because I was clearly having a lapse in judgment. It's the same BS 4 years later. This time I don't leave over a certain amount in my account and thankfully I don't.

My first problem came 9/19 when they held on to my money since 9/15. To the point I'm sneaking on public transpo to get to work. Then I called on 9/19 to see why my money wasn't released yet and was told it was going to be released at 5 PM THAT DAY! THATS HELLA UNACCEPTABLE!! I get off of work at 4, so they were pretty much telling me to wonder the streets until 5! I am not the "I wanna speak with your manager" type of person, because I will leave you a bad review very quickly. However I didn't write a review on 9/19. After being uncomfortably upset and out of character, they released my money but the agent on the phone slipped up and said "just so you know, we hold the money to protect us and the bank... I MEAN TO PROTECT YOU AND YOUR MONEY." No. She had it right the first way you said it.

Now today, I tried to buy something to drink and a small snack since I'm not having lunch. The store clerk tells me my card is declining for 3.00. I told him to run it again because that's impossible. It declines again so I leave thirsty and embarrassed. I already know what the problem is because BOA is full of shizz. I call BOA for the associate to tell me that they deactivated my temporary card because it expired. Mind you all the expiration date says 7/21 but thats okay because I get it, it's a temporary card. Here's my effing problem with BOA.

Why TF do they take it upon themselves to just deactivate a card without telling anyone! That should not be their role at all! If you sent me a permanent card, LET ME GET THE CARD AND DEACTIVATE MY TEMP ONE!!! No one at that damn bank knows where I'm at or what I'm doing. They don't even know if I picked the permanent card up or if it's in my possession. Like in this instance, I was not informed by BOA that my permanent card had gone out or by my mother that BOA mail has arrived.

So my point is BOA is probably ran by idiots IDK. I know having to deal with their stupidity twice in one week is exhausting! IDK how much longer I'll be with this bank... Again. The cashier's checks are helpful when paying rent tho, you just have to stand in line forever to get one tho! I'm so over this bank, deactivating cards while clearly the other one was never activated is just stupid to me. But maybe I'm the stupid one for opening an account again! Thankfully I took a majority of my money out of the account on 9/19, so I'm not completely SOL.

Now while I understand that they CAN do that, the fact that they do it WITHOUT notice and without any advance warning merely cause me to needlessly overdraft the account as I was unaware of their transactions until AFTER it posts suddenly to my account.

This is a bunch of crap. While I understand the policy is there to help BofA get its money back the part that irks me is that they do it on a Friday with absolutely NO NOTICE!! I asked the bank rep to get it for me or have the teller issue the money once he is done with the customer he is helping. She told me to step aside and she will call the manager.

The manager walked by while I was speaking with him and was about to knock me of my feet and I am a disable veteran, as I started explaining my situation again he said "I got other customers" and continued walking to his office. After over 20 min of waiting for him and calling customer service to make a complaint he comes out and I explain to him again. He asked me to leave and escorted me out without my money.

Customer service will be sending me my money but that is not a satisfying solution. That manger should be replaced. Assistant manager there is great but she was not there today. I will be closing my business account unless they replace him. If you were at the Bank of America today between 4:15 and past 5 pm you must have seen this, please comment of what you have seen. Try your best not become a victim of identity fraud! It has almost been a month and I'm still recovering to fully recover my account. I was told on 16 Aug '17 that my name on the card was too long so they didn't ship the card. So, that day a new card was shipped. I picked it up today on 20 Aug '17 and then I tried to activate the card and it didn't work. I requested to speak to an associate and was informed that the card that I received was cancelled. Now, keep in mind, on 16 Aug, they told me that my card didn't ship because of my name was too long on the card. It's going on three weeks and I have yet to receive all the benefit of using my banking account.

BoA's biggest problem is they don't endorse your account. They don't annotate the on going progression of resolving issues such as identity fraud. One associate to the next, I had to repeat myself several times of the same story of what happened to me as if I had to start all over again. Remember, I am the victim. There were times I felt that it was my fault that I experienced identity fraud. I also experience, they are not in the best interest of really resolving your issue. There's not a sense of urgency in resolving issues at hand.

I've experienced identity fraud on 23 Jul '17 and it is now 20 Aug '17 and I am still experiencing issues with BoA. From the E-Commerce Fraud Dept, all the way to Customer Service, they are not in the best interest of protecting your account, thus leaving you without a peace of mind. I will soon leave them. By far, BoA is the worst banking experience I've ever encountered.

After many years with this bank I went to withdraw some cash & because I don't have my debit card I was asked to provide ID & SSN. Well I did, after that the teller started looking at me and calling others employees, few minutes later her manager approached me with anger and said to me you need to sit and wait for me... well I started getting nervous because she was talking to me like a suspect or a thief... when I refused to give up my turn she threaten me saying that she will call the police on me & get me out.

Just after I left I call the bank customer service & file a complaint, 2 weeks later the bank respond that they stand by their employees because I did not obey the manager order. Wow. Wow. I was denied to get my own money & treated like a suspect & it's my fault. Please boycott this bank as I did, this way they will get the message & maybe they will show some respect to their customers. Thank you for reading.

As I do every morning, I checked the accounts and found a negative balance of $888,888.000 pending. Wtf! I went through the transactions and saw someone deposited $1500 2 times in the account and then withdrew money out. They went to a Rite Aid and spent over $500 dollars. They also made other charges and tried to withdraw a ridiculous amount of money. I found out that they wrote fake money orders and deposited them. All these happened overnight in NYC. I live in PA. It started while my family was at dinner celebrating my daughter's birthday (my son was there). After dinner, he left for school. Well I called BOA immediately and told them what happened.

I wondered why I didn't receive a fraud alert at all, but my husband did when We went on vacation and tried to pay for our hotel. I got my son on the phone and to my dismay, I found out he was caught in a identity theft scheme. The BOA rep sent me paperwork to complete. A few days later boa wiped out my accounts and left me $20. I called and no one had an answer. To sum it up, they decided we were lying and took my money again. Now I have a fraud on my check system record and I am unable to open an account.

They did not send me anything accusing me of fraud, no bill, no letter in my name. They sent the letter to my son. I called and reported it immediately and they accused me of a crime!!!! I've never felt so humiliated in my life! I tell my story every time I hear someone talk about opening a bank account with them. Did I mention that all the transactions happened in NYC overnight? Every single time I travel (even after I place travel alerts) my card doesn't work. The last three times I've gone out of the country my card never works. They block access to my funds even after I told them that I'd be traveling. This causes me to spend a lot of time on the phone with them while roaming. There are very few employees ready to help and when I've found one, they have to go find someone else because they don't know how to do what I've needed. I personally want a real person to me especially when I go to the bank. They also have too many "fees". I've banked with them for 50 years and am now going to PNC.

I've been trying for two days to get through to customer service regarding a fee that I was charged and now I have to make an appointment for the following day--just to get a callback! And their local branches are even worst. Forget about getting "free" notary service--the notary is never there. I tried to set up an estate account for my mom during a time of just having lost my mom, and they are the worse. Who needs extra stress at a time like that? Beyond its predatory loan tactics, Bank of America couldn't care less about the individual customer. They simply care about their bottom line. I have three accounts with Bank of America and have been a customer of theirs for over ten years. A few months ago, I went into a branch to change my name on my accounts due to my recent marriage. I was told that they could change the name electronically but if I wanted my name changed on my two cards, I would have to pay 15 dollars for each new card. This is absurd. They replace cards ALL THE TIME because people are able to hack their accounts on a regular basis. But, apparently, it costs 15 dollars to send me a new card because I was married. Naturally, I stopped using those cards because the name doesn't match my driver's license.

I kept the accounts because my husband has BOA, as well, and we can do online transfers for bills easily. Last month, however, my mother closed her accounts because they kept charging her a fee for a low balance account. A month later, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, Bank of America charges MY account (that just happens to also have my mother's name on it, as well) a "monthly maintenance fee". Bank of America has never charged any of my accounts a fee before and their explanation was that "Oh, well this account should have been charged a fee for the last year plus but it seems like a recent audit must have caught that mistake". Are you sure it wasn't because my mother closed her accounts with you, accounts that you were charging a fee, and you so happen to suddenly charge the shared account her name is on the following month? I am closing my accounts and will never recommend them to anyone. Stay far away.

We called their automated system and paid the payoff amount given to us by check. A few days later we get a statement showing we still owe money. I called and spoke to 3 different people, one being a supervisor and was told we didn't pay the interest, only the principal. The supervisor was a complete ass, and unable to explain why the payoff amount we were told didn't have the interest figured in. In the end, they made 108 bucks from the $38,000 loan, guess they were a little pissed about that. The payoff being wrong isn't what pissed me off, the terrible customer service and complete lack of intelligence is why I will never finance through BOA again.

It has been 4 months, since I was first screwed by BOA, when I took BOA's suggestion to close my old checking account and open a new one. It was supposed to be a solution to the checking account fraud that occurred on my old account. And just two days ago, that old account FINALLY got closed! And no more checking account fraud, as I write this. But I sure went through A LOT, in the last 4 months! Head still reels from the lengthy: checking account balance inaccuracies; direct-deposit transitions; and automatic investments to other financial institutions outside of BOA!

    Original Review: July 7, 2017

I am a 15-year, BOA customer. I called BOA on July 5th, after viewing my checking account online, and seeing two cleared "checks" that were never written by me. The fraudulent checks totaled $894.98! So I called BOA to dispute the fraud. A BOA representative recommended that I close the account and start a new account, to prevent more fraud under my long-used checking account number. So I complied, only to STILL be living a nightmare! It is now two days later, and I still see wrong amounts in both my old checking and my newly opened checking accounts. I see no record of a more than $10,000 deposit that was cleared before the fraud occurred. My paycheck is not showing as being directly deposited today. A canceled $6,000 transfer to another bank is showing up on my checking ledger, although it never happened! And I am stuck depending only upon my own, manual ledger to see how much money I really do have!

BOA keeps claiming they are working to set my accounts straight, but why is it taking so long? And why can't I get live people who can give me consistent, factual information? I am now on hold (20 minutes now). But I will hang up soon, since I must proceed with my day, despite the financial mess. Later today, I will have to seek out a new, reliable bank!

First off I would like to say I have done business with this branch for years. Last Thursday I brought my 78 year old dad in to close out an account for a deceased relative. We waited almost a hour before we could see a banker. Even then the process took another hour. During this time while I was waiting there seemed to be mass confusion with the greeter and some tall ** guy running around in a suit. I watch my dad in an office with a female banker and he looked really stressed. I got up to see what the problem was and he said he had to use the restroom. Now remember he is 78 and has been here almost two hours! The female banker kept telling him they did not have a restroom! He was pleading! She kept say "No public facilities!" Needless to say he had an accident on the way to the car. I will never forgive Bank of America and the Howell Mill branch for putting my father through this.

I deposited a $5000 check written on my old bank account which is still active in my old state (Maine) on June 17th and deposited into my new BOA checking account. When I did the deposit slip indicated that $2000 of it would be immediately available for use and $3000 would be placed on hold until 06/21. Very reasonable for an out of state check. I went to start to pay my July bills this past weekend and found they (BOA) had placed another hold on the entire $5000 on 06/22. I confirmed with my previous bank that the check cleared (which in my mind means they SENT THE FUNDS). I called BOA today (06/26/17) and was told that another hold was placed on it because they hadn't received all of the funds. I confirmed that my old bank had processed and cleared the check last Wednesday (06/21/17) so that means they (BOA) have had my money since then and they have been making money off it and keeping it from my use.

I came right out and asked the representative if BANK OF AMERICA WOULD BE PAYING FOR MY RENT, UTILITIES AND OTHER BILLS SINCE THEY WERE HOLDING MY MONEY THAT WAS MARKED FOR THESE BILLS. She said no. I purposely deposited this check in time to ensure that funds would be available to use for my July bills as I am just moving to a new area. I needed to establish with a local bank and unfortunately BOA was the only national bank that was in both locations. If this was the type of service that I could have expected I would have NEVER chosen these money grubbers. They are beginning to be a lot like Wells Fargo. I will be forced to consolidate some credit cards and pay bills on credit cards until this gets resolved. BANK OF AMERICA JUST HIT ME WHERE IT HURTS -- MY CREDIT RATING... THANKS A LOT.

I have had Bank of America for 4 years now. I do not know what has happened in the last year but seriously, they have manipulated my account to where I have overdraft fees every single month. There will be money in my account and they will hold back items until my balance is low and then send them through and charge $35. That's just one of the examples. There are so many ways that they rearrange your transactions that are going through. Let's say you have a balance of X amount of dollars. You make a purchase, then on your banking app it will deduct the money and tell you your new available balance. Well, that's where it should end, right? WRONG!

When you continue to make transactions according to your "available balance" all of a sudden you start going into the negative a couple or three days later. That's because they will hold one of those transactions back and say it was PENDING. Then when it doesn't go through for a couple more days they say it was PROCESSING. Then when it goes through a couple days later than that, they say it was POSTING!! ALL THE TIME NONE OF THIS SHOWS. You are going off of your available balance which is x-y= z. WHAT? You use your debit card for that reason. To keep it simple. I will repeat x-y=z. End of story.

THERE SHOULD BE NO PENDING, PROCESSING, POSTING strung out over 5 days! Within time the next thing you know you are charged $35 in overdraft fees. It is a TOTAL SCAM. I mean a 10 year old could see and figure this out. SHAME ON YOU BANK OF AMERICA! How pitiful you have become! MORAL OF STORY: I would never never never bank with this ripoff scamming institution again! I'm going to close my accounts tomorrow and be done with it. I'm just letting you all know... I have been a BOA customer for years. I closed my accounts today, when I contacted BOA regarding $35 charges including a $35 "extended overdraft fee." The overdraft charges were for debits for less than $3. Yes. three dollars. And BOA charged $35 fee AND returned the item, and THEN charged a $35 "extended overdraft fee."

This is a direct deposit account that has been opened for YEARS. A portion of my pay goes there, and it was easily ascertainable that the account was going to be replenished on a schedule. I called to ask for ONE charge to PLEASE be waived. The answer was, "No, nothing we can do." This was the same answer I got when I went in person to the branch.

There is absolutely no concern or care for customers, and I am appalled at the blithe way the customer "service" people are giddily happy to take people's orders to close their accounts and never come back. They were very helpful with that. I'll get my close-out check in two weeks, maybe, and I will never, ever, ever set foot in a Bank of America again.

Apparently the bank is always experiences higher call volumes than are typical as I have called multiple times. If you are going to have that much security on a card you need to staff up your call lines to help customers quicker as they may be somewhat stranded in a country while you try to save money by not hiring enough team members to address the issues. Another thought is to allow customers to clear fraud alerts on your website and not even make me call someone. What are the chances I am going to have both lost my debit card and happened to give out my online banking information for fun. I am thinking of switching banks - though not sure if any other banks will be better.

I just simply explained I couldn't afford an overdraft fee of $35. It was overdraft for $1. Yes $1 and I have money in my savings. I assumed if anything they would just pull it from the savings. She goes to say, "Are you serious? We can't do that without your permission, we would have a lot of people mad in the world if we did that." I told her I had ASSUMED. She did't have to tell me that! "I have my PayPal linked to my account and this was a PayPal transaction that tried to pull the money" is what I explained to her.

I asked can she do it this time just for now and I would be sure to not let this happen again. She said to me, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS TIME JUST FOR NOW??" She talked over me and was very inconsiderate to my feelings. I told her I can not afford this $35 AND I EVEN TOLD THE TRUTH BY EXPLAINING I'M GOING THROUGH SOMETHING RIGHT NOW WITH MY CHILD. She said well there's nothing she can do about that and even if it were a penny she would still charge me $35. She then goes on to say BoA can not give me money! But how are you giving me money when the little dollar was in a saving account with BoA. You have your money right there! And you're CHARGING ME an unnecessary fee. From 05/31/17 thru 06/03/17 the B of A online Debit Card could not process fund transfers. This account was created by my State unemployment department, for the purpose of providing unemployment/disability payments. I am recovering from cancer surgery and not able to work at this time. On 06/03/17 at 6:37 a.m. my time, I called the Customer Service contact number listed on the B of A Debit Card website. I was required to enter part of my account number, the last 4 digits of my SSI, and my card security code in order to connect with a representative. The rep had no information why the online transfers were not available, nor any indication when they would resume. She offered to transfer me to another department to handle my transfer, and then required answers to 5 different personal/account/security questions before transferring the call.

I sat on hold for 54 minutes and finally reached another representative. He took 12 minutes to complete the transfer, including the same personal/account/security questions as well as my own bank account and bank routing number - all of which information was contained in my B of A profile, but which he was not allowed to use, he had to have my voice confirmation. This was all done on an ordinary digital (and unsecured) telephone line, which any competent technician or programmer could hijack or hack, thus acquiring all the information necessary to steal all the money in either account.

Aside from B of A's obvious lack of competence in resolving whatever problem is preventing the use of online fund transfers from an account, their customer service process itself is unreasonably slow, clumsy and inefficient; and it puts the customer at risk for loss of their privacy and personal financial security. I will contact the State EDD that created this account to inform them of this situation. I rated this 2 stars since I was (eventually) able to complete the desired transaction. I do not criticize the representatives who I spoke with; my complaint is aimed at the B of A process and operational lack of consideration for their customers.

Bank of America refuses to cancel the check and reimburse me. They initially said I would have to wait 90 days. After filing a complaint and informing them that the check is void after 90 days (which means they are doing nothing and it is not feasible for me to wait 3 months to move) I was told by the branch manager that they could transfer the check but it would need to be made out to the same payee. Since I was supposed to move in to the apartment on 6/1 and NYC real estate is super competitive, it will not be the same payee because I will not be moving in to the original apartment. There is no NYC landlord willing to wait weeks for a security deposit.

I need to have the check canceled immediately and I need to either 1) be reimbursed in full or 2) be allowed to transfer the check to a different property manager payee. I am desperate as I was forced to move back to my father's home and will need to find a new apartment asap so I can move out. I have a screenshot of the original cashier's check. Bank of America is the absolute worst! Right up there with DMV, Comcast, and Verizon. My son had his card stolen and the card was used at a 3rd party ATM. So we went to the local branch to file a claim. My son, **, longer hair (which he donates for Locks for Love, the cancer charity), and a tattoo on his right arm, was looked at like he just attempted to rob the place by the ** American branch manager. My son, goes to school full time, and works part time and had approximately $270 in his account. $263 was taken out, $260, plus the $3 fee for using a non-Bank of America ATM I'm presuming. Now, a couple smaller amounts have started to bounce, because he used his card before it was stolen and had not cleared at that time.

The whole time in the branch she did not want to help... then told him that it could take 45 days to be able to get a court order to gain the right to view the camera photos from the little ATM cameras they use. Long story short, my son is out the little amount of money he had, now check fees are piling up, and Bank of America wants nothing to do with a young college student who works 10-12 hours a week. I have opened an account for him at my bank where they actually care about the "little people." I left Bank of America about 10 years ago because of a somewhat similar situation. I told him not to bank there, but it's basically right across the street. I would advise anyone and everyone to avoid Bank of America, and especially the branch on Plank Road in Chancellor Virginia, close to Fredericksburg.

I am not new to banking because I have worked in the world of finance for 14 years. So, I understand, by reading some of the complaints, some people just don't get it. Well, my story is simple. I have never overdrafted my Bank of America checking or savings account. On Friday, May 5, 2017, I logged online, in the midday to look at my account because I was planning on going out for dinner that evening. What I discovered was that my login credentials were not working. This positively puzzled me.

I, then, called customer service. Prior to that, I heard what my balance was and alerted that my account was overdrawn by over $800k. I was furious at this point because I thought that someone may have raided my account. I was on the phone with the representative and discovered that someone did raid the account, the bank did.

After forcing the representative to send me over to the "Risk Department", they informed me that Bank of America made a "business decision" to close my account. I know that business decisions are made everyday, but my account has remained in good standing. I immediately asked for the $1049 sitting in my checking/saving account because I was just paid by my employer, as I am paid weekly. The bank representative stated that they would not provide me with my money. I got extremely angry over this and probably said a few things I should not have said to the representative. She escalated the call to someone else and I stated that I wanted my money.

Granted, I am uncomfortable with carrying any cash around because of the risk associated with this, but I know if I went into another bank, I could deposit it and some banks even provide a debit card, on the spot. After being told no, I inquired as to when I would receive my money and she informed me that she placed a request.

During this time, a loan payment that was ACHed from my checking account, bounced. The payment was only for $121 and I had over $1000 in my account. My car payment could also not be made, but fortunately, I was paying this ahead of the due date, so I could alert Wells Fargo to delete the payment and I would make it the following week.

All in all, I wish Bank of America would have had better communication with me as to the status of the account and given me the opportunity to take the money out and get my bills paid. The lack of transparency was appalling and I placed complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which I would advise for people to do when trying to work out an issue with a bank. Fortunately, they allowed me to pull my money out today (Tuesday, May 9, 2017) from the bank, but that is after I threatened them with everything under the sun.

I visited 3 of Bank of America's branches and was turned off by the absolute appalling service. I waited in line for almost 30 minutes with nearly 20 other people who seemed to be wondering what was happening. While in the line I could see the frustration emanating from their faces. My anxiety was at a peak. My patience was at a low. After speaking with a branch manager I was basically told to: suck it up, this is the future. Either bank online, use an ATM or bank someplace else!

If I don't see more help available for the disabled, elderly, and those who are not computer savvy in the next 6 months to a year, I will be opening a new account with either TD Bank or Wells Fargo. Service as bad as this is uncalled for!!! I will be sharing my frustration online and personally with as many people as I can, just to get support for this matter or deter them from banking with this bank.

The location I went to was Buffalo, NY 14214 and they literally have only 1 ATM machine. The line was long for the machine and the wait was even longer to just withdraw money with the teller. Terrible customer service. Overall it was a bad experience.

As a merchant, the level of service provided by Bank of America has gone from fair to terrible. Compared to other banks in the area their Saturday hours are shorter, understaffed at teller station and no merchant window. Today, Saturday morning I walked in, 12 deep line and two tellers. No merchant line and several employees looking busy but NOT helping customers. I stood in line for about 5 minutes and approached the lobby greeter. The employee in the lobby (greeter) didn't even do that and when I said I just needed to make a deposit (no cash)... He gave a response... "Sorry no merchant window, there is nothing I can do to help you". I directed my frustration at the bank, not him personally and left to try to find another branch with better service (i.e. A better employee to customer ratio). There was another customer/merchant there with the same feelings... He also left. I dislike banking with them and will be moving my account.

My mother-in-law passed away in September of 2016 and has a trust checking account with Bank of America. The point of setting up the trust account was to avoid probate and for the trustee to have immediate access to the funds. Bank of America has insisted that they need the probate information and that my husband write and have notarized a letter giving himself permission to access the account. The documentation was sent via certified mail in December of 2016 and BOA said they didn't receive it even though my husband had the documentation that BOA had received it.

My husband sent the documentation a second time through overnight mail. We still haven't heard from BOA trust department. The only way to reach the BOA trust department is to leave a voicemail or send them a letter. This situation is preventing the completion of other aspects of my mother-in-law's estate. With this type of customer service, we definitely won't do our own banking with them.

I would not recommend Bank of America due to the fact that I deposited an opening $300 and bank account on Friday. By Saturday morning all my money was gone except for the few little dollars I had already spent. Kohl's customer service be there for told me that there would be a 10-day waiting period to receive funds back on my account but they would put in an expedited which would apply to my account on Tuesday. Heard anything back Wednesday for nothing. Go back Friday. They're telling me nothing. On Thursday I had called and complained about another fraud case of where I put $2,900 in my account on Monday night. The next thing I find out $2,500 is missing and now I am left stranded out of town with no access to the $3,000 plus I had put into the account where in which I've only spent $500 worth and rest of it I have to wait almost 2 weeks to get money to go home.

Whatever you do do not with Bank of America. They are liars, cheaters. Will do anything to screw you over. They make you feel like you're the crook. You're guilty of doing everything until proven innocent like I did this. It's one of those things. Common sense. Why would you getting your money in there if you will be taking out the next day. We entrust them money keeping us to be available 24 hours a day but when it's gone and they come out of their pockets are harder they don't give a crap where you're at, what type of situation you're in or financial status. Crooks.

We have had a account with BOA for a long time. They are always playing with our balance. We will have a check or debit card payment clear. Then a few days later there is no record of it and the money is back in our account. Then a few day later it taken out again. When the balance drops lower. I have talked to our branch manager. He said it could not happen. And if I could prove it. So we started printing out our statement a few times a day. We took it in and showed them. Was then told the we could have made that up. It did not match their records. Was told that the screen online is not the same as what they see.

Yesterday we had a balance of 7.00. This morning my direct deposit hits for 1300.00. But our balance is 1600.00. Looking back and 5 transactions have been taken off and money put back. It says we never got below 300.00 for the month. They were hoping that the deposit did not hit so we would have been fee to death. At one point we even put in 100.00 and never add it to our register. So we would always have that 100.00 buffer. They still would change our amount daily. Our balance would change daily even if there was no transactions. So you have to check your account 4 times a day to make sure it is correct.

Bank of America is a rip-off. They conveniently rearrange the order of how transactions are processed in order to charge multiple overdraft fees. Last night at midnight my account was positive over $36.00. This morning at 6 am $23.32 worth of transactions were pending. By 9:30 am, a check for $150.00 was pending as well $175 in overdraft fees because BOA had rearranged the order of how the transactions are being processed in order to charge additional overdraft fees. When I called Customer Service I was informed that they would not reverse the fees.

I will be banking somewhere else in the very near future. This creative method of accounting and processing is an ongoing habit with BOA. This has happened repeatedly over the past few months. Being charged $35 a clip or 4 transactions totaling less than $24 is outrageous and excessive. Two years ago they returned a deposited check to me because they didn't recognize the name (mine) that the check was made out to. They had a copy of my driver's license with my full name on file in their system. 3 years ago they cashed 2 checks on my deceased husband's account the day after his death, one of which was dated the day after he died. They had been notified of his suicide and that his debit card and checkbook were missing. But they cashed them anyway to the tune of $7350.

I deposited a cashier check from a big NY bank, and BoA put a hold on it for 7+ days claiming that it look suspicious. If so, a phone call could authenticate the check in a matter of minutes or hours, not 7 days. Not only that, BoA initially gave me credit for $300 for that check while it awaited clearance. Next day, BoA took away that $300 credit! I complained, the $300 credit was restored, then 2 days later, got taken away again! And when my account balance dropped below $1500, I incurred a $12 maintenance fee just because BoA sat on my check for 7 days! I have been a customer for 30+ years, never had a bounced check, but that's how BoA treats its long time customers. BoA = Bucket of **. Better put your money in a credit union than BoA.

On Friday, April 14, I made a deposit in my BOA account of $200.00. The ATM machine made that money immediately available. I was waiting for that check to pay some small bills I had. I paid my telephone and my son's. On Tuesday I realized that my account was Minus and they were asking me to pay immediately or face a fee. I check up and my check appear as a deposit but in HOLDING. Since I had not more money and I had a check already there I wait, thinking that the check would clear soon, but this never happens. Today is Friday 21 and the check is still in HOLD. I spoke with the friend of mine that send the check from his Citibank account and the check was clear on Tuesday, they get the money already from his account. I am a poor retired person, I believe they don't want clients like me, poor people. They are ruining my little account.
