    It was the first time I had done an online mortgage and it was really simple, so I really enjoyed it. It wasn't a big hassle at all. Their rates were very competitive.     Their process was a lot painless than I thought it would be. We had refinanced before when interest rates were down so we thought we'll try it again. This time was a lot easier.     I had never done this before so I had a lot of questions and a lot of the other lenders didn't call back but AmeriSave was very attentive and answered all my questions. Also, their interest rate was good. The only downside was their closing costs were a little high. Also, I had so much trouble with the application. Down here in Kentucky, the internet service isn't really well so the online application was a little tougher. But they helped me along the way and they showed me how to do things.

    The rep I worked with, Sean, stayed in touch with me and kept me updated even though my service was so bad. If I wasn't doing it right, he would follow up with me. You get leery of doing anything that's got to do with your house or banking and he made me feel a little bit more secure than just an application on a website. I really felt like they wanted my business.

    They have excellent communication. My loan officer was Samantha. She was extremely helpful. Every time I wanted to ask them a question, she always was either available or called me back immediately. The process was really fast. Compared to the other company that I went through, AmeriSave was so much better. When they told me it was done, it was done. There was no changing. They have a goalpost. I've been through a lot of refinances and original mortgage originations in my life, and this was easily the best.

    They send out these automated texts that they would tell you if you needed to upload certain documents and I was always pretty on top of it. So I would upload it and then the next day or two, I would get an automated text saying that I needed to upload the document, even though I had already uploaded it. At first I was all like, "Uh-oh. They didn't get it." Then I called Samantha and she said they got it. She told me it was just that the system hasn't processed that they got it. So as long as I put it in there, it was fine. That was the only negative thing about that whole process, which wasn't a big deal once you knew that the system had to catch up.

    They took so long that I had to resubmit paperwork because the original paperwork was now outdated. This happened at least two times. The closing documents that outlined what I needed to do/provide for closing were totally inaccurate. This caused more delays. I was later told that AmeriSave did not follow these rules, so why send them to me. Finally received my third or fourth closing document on a Friday. Set up my closing date/time for Monday at 8:30. They canceled this because 8:30 was too early for them to provide the documentation. They then took it upon themselves to charge my closing time to 5:00. I did not answer the phone the one time that they called me so they picked a time for me. Closed on 2/22/2021 and today is 4/10/2021 and I am still waiting to receive my new title/quick claim deed from them.

    This was the most pain-free and quick refi I've ever experienced. They were super helpful and took the time to explain one option that I had never considered before. When it was all said and done, I was able to drop PMI, lower my already low rate, move to a 15 year repayment plan when I had 25 years left on my previous mortgage, AND ended up saving around 50k in interest over the life of the new loan.     My experience with AmeriSave can be broken into two distinct parts - before working with JR ** and after. Once he was involved, the loan process was completed in a timely and responsive manner. Before he was brought in to complete the loan, the loan originator was mostly non-responsive and refused to communicate in a timely manner. She was obviously inexperienced and unaware how to handle a loan with the complication of a land lease. Although she was very nice when I actually spoke with her, she ignored my repeated pleas for status. It took over 123 days to close this loan.

    I have personal experience with mortgages and even difficult loans are taking about 75 days. My biggest concern was the lack of a rate lock and when rates began rising, I pleaded to have the rate locked. She did nothing to achieve that. I was told my loan would close in Jan. But then I heard nothing for the next month. I sent multiple emails and left multiple VMs. Finally, I was able to contact customer support and my file was almost immediately transferred to JR who was responsive, professional and explained to me what needed to be done to “fix” the problem.

    The loan was closed in less than 30 days from the date he got involved. So, despite the very unpleasant and stressful process, the loan was closed at the rate I wanted and the fee was also reduced somewhat. One issue that I resolved on my own was the fact that the various payoffs were based on very old information. I repeatedly asked that the creditors be contacted for payoffs and was told that would happen, but it didn’t, except for my existing mortgage. If I was grading my experience I would give the pre-JR involvement a D and the post-JR involvement a A-.

    Going to AmeriSave's application process online was simple. We only had one issue I had with the whole process. In 2000, the people that owned the place had the property foreclosed. A broker bought it from them and I bought it in '02 which was set for all that time and I've refinanced it twice. I sold a property in June of last year. The broker put a thing on the property that said it was a foreclosure. They messed the paperwork up.

    We thought it was just something that was getting mixed up from the old foreclosure on the property. Karen was the underwriter and she called me and said, "No, this was filed the day after y'all sold it." If she hadn't stayed on everybody, we would probably not have gotten things done. There was nothing listed in the state of Kentucky of any foreclosure under our names. Finally, the buyer sent some emails stating what had happened. It took at least four weeks to get things straightened out.

    Aside from Karen, there was also Lindsay who worked diligently. If it wasn't for them, things would never have happened. Other than the issue we had, our process was really smooth. Everything else was quick. I would recommend AmeriSave to anybody. In fact, I got some friends now who are trying to get ahold of Lindsay. They're fixing to refinance.

    This is by far the worst mortgage company from start to finish. I would never recommend them. My loan was a disaster and messed up that caused many delays. Now my mortgage is messed up and still 3 months later trying to get back monies that was overpaid due to their mistake with my insurance and had to have it taken out of my escrow. They owe me about 500 and still have my payments the same causing me to double pay and even after the escrow analysis. Lots of promises and nothing more. Good luck getting anything resolved as I have sent 6 emails and no response. Call customer service and they will transfer you to every dept as it is not their problem. Pass the buck as you would say. All I can say is good luck and may the power be with you if you go with them. I am going on my 4th payment now and can't wait to change lenders. I hate even giving them 1 star but you have to give something to do the review.

    The first person I spoke with, Joseph, was very responsive and answered all my questions. He would respond to my emails or calls in a timely manner and he was easy to work with. But for the closing, a guy had to come out to my house and the scheduling of that from the underwriting wasn't coordinated very well. I spent one day waiting all day and no one showed. That was on a Friday. But they came out that next Monday. Other than that, the appraisal was done when it was scheduled. The rep came out on that day at the time and the appraisal was good.

    They had the rate information on the website that I found where I could just look at. It gave me the list of rates with the fees associated with it. So I could just see upfront how much I was buying or paying to get the particular rate I was looking for and get a sense of that right at the very beginning. I started the process of entering my information onto AmeriSave's website. Once the person who called me spoke with me, he was just fantastic.

    My loan originator, Ben, was amazing. The loan that I found on the website that I thought would make sense for me, he worked through the process of us picking the rates that were best for me. Then, he answered all of my questions along the way, how it was going to go, how money was going to get transferred, where the fees were going to show up. Then when it went to go close my loan, getting the guy out here to sign all the documents was easy and he was great.

    But it went to someone whose title is a loan processor, instead of being finished off by Ben the loan originator. Ben said, "Sometimes, they keep the loan assigned with me, and sometimes we transfer it to a processor." I went from this really great person who knew everything that was going on, to have it transferred to someone that I didn't like at all. I didn't think she was professional and that she was as much as Ben. Ben was doing everything with the goal of what my end goal was while she would explain things to me that didn't have anything to do with what I wanted to do. You sound like you're talking to a different person with a different goal because I don't think I'm a typical person. Some of my goals are a little different than a standard borrower. She was just amiss.

    I had to copy him back on the whole process just to clarify information, get it done the way that he and I discussed it would be done, so that the paperwork would be right for signing. That transition process was negative. But it had nothing to do with the initial mortgage, what I got, the product, or Ben at all. He was fantastic. He cleaned it up on the back end too. The product, the service, the information that I received in order to get the loan I have were fantastic. The online stuff where you drop the files and you view all of that and the notifications were really easy too.

    Amerisave's application process was not the best but I've had similar experiences doing mortgages and refinances so it seems to be consistently lackluster across the board from a user experience perspective. There are a lot of duplication and a lot of learning that are going on in the web based transactions related to mortgages. But they're doing the best that they can and the tools are catching up. The big thing that Amerisave did do well despite the limitations of the tool was having a responsive representative. They have friendly representatives that are willing to answer questions and work through to satisfy objectives.

    On January 21, 2021 I started a mortgage refinance process with Amerisave Mortgage. My Loan processor was Bryce **. Bryce and I discussed the loan, including the loan rate. I was happy with the initial loan rate of 2.75% for a 30 year mortgage. I asked Bryce to “lock-in” the rate. Bryce explained that it was Amerisave’s policy not to lock in rates because “if the rate dropped, the customer benefits and if the rate goes up, Amerisave will issue an exemption to get the rate back to the rate on the signed disclosure.” This sounded like a great deal to me, a can’t lose situation.

    After the appraisal came in higher than anticipated, I asked Bryce what the rate would be on a cashout refinance. Bryce quoted me a rate of 3% with 3.154 in points totaling $9115 for a 30 year cash out refinance. I asked Bryce again about locking in the rate because the 10 year note was starting to go up. Bryce stated the following, “I would not work for a company that misled its customers, and I’m sure you would not do business with a company that lied to you. Your rate is 3%, if the market rate goes down, you win. If the market rate goes up, my supervisor will give me an exemption to get your rate back to 3%.” I believed Bryce and on February 10, 2021 I signed a disclosure for the cash out refi with these terms. Well, rates continued to rise and and I called Bryce again to inquire about the interest rate.

    Keep in mind, communication with Bryce was HORRIBLE. I would have to call him several times and send multiple emails before he responded, if he responded at all. When I finally got in touch with him and expressed my concern over the rising mortgage rates, he again told me not to worry, that Amerisave would take care of me. Well, on March 10, 2021, in anticipation of a March 14, 2021, I received a new, updated, surprise disclosure via email. This disclosure still had the 3%, 30 year mortgage put now the points I was paying went from 3.154 points totaling $9115 to 3.664 points totaling $10588, a difference of $1473. I again made several telephone calls and send various emails to Bryce letting him know the terms on the disclosure had changed and I was being charged more in points, and in title fees.

    When I finally got Bryce on the phone, he told me not to worry, he would send the disclosure back to his manager and get it corrected. The next day Bryce call me back and told me he got the points down to 3.437 totaling 9933.18 but he could not get it back to the original agreement of 3.154 totaling $9115. He stated there was nothing he could do to get my disclosure back to the terms we originally agreed on, and signed onto, and my only option at this point would be to cancel the refinance request or move forward with he new terms. He did not apologize for continuously telling me there would no issue with my rate and there was no need to lock it in. He very coldly told me to cancel or move forward. I then asked to speak with his manager.

    The same day his manager called me and acknowledge that Bryce had misled me. He stated that Amerisave had hire a lot of new people and it was obvious that they need some work in how they communicated the rate lock policy to customers. He also stated he could do nothing more except offer a refund for the $500 application fee, which I have not received. Bottom line, I had no choice but to move forward with the refinance.

    Amerisave had me in a hostage situation. If I cancelled the refinance and when with another company, I would have to begin the process from the beginning and would probably get an even higher interest rate. Amerisave is very calculating. They change you a non-refundable $500 application fee upfront and conduct your appraisal within 4 days of application. This is done to lock you into their services. After the appraisal and the underwriting is approved, they know you will move forward with the refinance because moving to another mortgage provider at that point will cost you more money and a higher interest rate since rates have gone up. That is also why Bryce, after lying to me in 4 separate conversations, offered to cancel my loan or move forward. He knew I had no choice but to move forward.

    I am requesting that Amerisave reimburse me for the difference on the points on the February 10, 2021 disclosure and the final March 4, 2021 disclosure. The difference amounts to $818.18. While researching online complaints against Amerisave I have found that this interest bait and switch scheme is #1 complaint against Amerisave. Anyone wanting to conduct business with Amerisave should read the reviews on Consumeraffairs.com, BBB.org, and Sitejabber.com. If you don’t care whether your interest rate goes up during your underwriting process, and if you don’t care about being able to communicate with your loan originator or loan processor, the Amerisave will be just fine for you. Bryce openly lying to me during 4 separate conversations and made no apologies for it. Ultimately, his lies cost me $818.18 in points. The $818.18 would not have matter if he had been honest with me the 4 times I asked about locking the rate.

    I have a friend that had just refied and he told me about the rate he got. He said that Amerisave's service was good and doing everything online was real easy. They have the closer come up to the house to do the closing. I did the application on a Sunday night at about 6 o'clock. When the options popped up where it showed what I wanted to do as far as did I want a lesser percentage rate, a lesser mortgage payment and less years, that was good. It gave me a number of options and the approximate monthly payment next to the options. I picked the one with the lowest possible monthly payment then ran through it. I got a call the next morning from the originator. I was shocked because the rate that popped up on the screen was 2.75 and when the originator called me back, he said it was down to 2.25 so I couldn't be happier. I locked in immediately and was thoroughly impressed by how quickly things went and how easily things were able to be done.

    I had to jump through a few hoops because my company was in the middle of a transition of being an acquisition from one company to another so I had to provide documentation for both companies as far as my payroll history. But other than that, Amerisave’s side of the whole transaction was absolutely wonderful. Everybody I dealt with was cordial. The originator was extremely helpful when things popped up. He kind of pointed me in the right direction on what they would need from me. During the closure, the lady was phenomenal. She knew her stuff. The closing took all of probably 30 minutes. I was very satisfied. I recommended to the young lady that works with me in the office that she refinance through Amerisave and she's in the process of doing hers now.

    I applied for a home in October of last year. Because of covid where I could defer payments, I deferred three of them. It took me until March to get the loan to go through because of all that which shouldn't have taken that long. I'm doing a refinance on my loan to get a lower interest rate. I got approved of that and they were supposed to wire the money to Amerisave on March the 22nd. Amerisave sent the money back to First Am because the amount wasn't right and they didn't have correct payoff amount. I had a payment scheduled for March the 16th to pay $1,094.83. After I scheduled that payment, two hours later, my loan processor called and told me that she had great news, that we were going to close on the 17th. I tried to cancel that payment but I couldn't. When I talked with somebody there, they told me I could call to make them stop payment but evidently, that $1,094 didn't get included in the payoff statement.

    As of now, I still am not showing that that loan is paid off but I'm already paying on my new loan while they're in the process of paying off the old loan. First Am was supposed to call me. I've reported this on Monday because somebody from AmeriSave called me. I talked with somebody named Nicole with First Am and she said that she was gonna send it to somebody else but nobody has let me know. They gave me two weeks for First Am to get all that straightened out so that they can pay the full amount of loan. The loan originator, Jeffrey, and my loan processor are excellent at everything that they do. They do everything that they can to keep things rolling. They told me that this is the first time they've run across this since covid-19. The first time that I used Amerisave, everything went like clockwork. But this time, it's been terrible.

    Worst experience of my life. I'm incredibly frustrated, upset, and confused about my experience with AmeriSave and with your team, specifically Michelle **, and Chris **. Last week Michelle emailed me on the 24th of March to say the loan is in final underwriting and it should be done "this week" (4th or 5th time I've heard that one)I emailed on Friday of last week to ask for an update. No response. I emailed again Monday. No response. I emailed again yesterday. No response. All of these emails were to all 3 of you. All I'm doing is going off of YOUR words and asking for an update based on those words. This is approximately the 15th time that I reached out and have gotten no response back after multiple days.

    Today I find out after calling Michelle that on the 24th the underwriter put in a note that it needs to be restructured. I didn't get any communication about this at all. And from what Michelle told me, no one took action on it, making this a entire week delay a totally avoidable, a delay upon delay that's already 8 months into this. This shouldn't take longer than a pregnancy. I have no choice now but to call each of you every single day since I have zero trust or faith that anything will be done or any of my messages will be responded to or even read. 

    I also have no choice but to start filing BBB complaints and leaving detailed honest reviews about my experience with your team and you as individuals. I have so much energy from my anger that I will be spending the entire day doing this. I run a business based on integrity, trust and customer satisfaction and I am horrified about how you guys operate. I think everyone else needs to know as well before getting into a deal with Amerisave. The way things are done is totally unacceptable, it feels like a DMV from a 3rd world country but it's called Amerisave. All you guys have done so far is waste my time, not save. I'm sorry about my harsh words but at the same time I'm not. I hope this is the honest feedback you guys need to change your ways.

    I used Amerisave several years ago and had a good experience so I used them as one of my options this time. Their rate was the best that I received of the options that I sought so that was one of the factors I chose them. The rep, Sharon, was very thorough and followed up regularly. The only complication we had was with the title company. Our house was in a trust and there were some complications in how that was put together in the closing documents. There were some of the signature lines that were kind of mixed up in the closing process. It may have been done right but it was confusing to me and we ended up having to delay our closing to make sure all that was correct. I don't think that was anybody's fault though. It was just kind of a confusing thing with the home being in a trust.

    The person I dealt with was nice but the application process was choppy. She was somewhat new from what I learned later. When I first applied around November 6th, I did in my name only. The property is titled in my wife's trust and the rep should have picked that up. We went all the way ‘til January, about 70 days later when it was ready to close. That was when I was told that the property title was in my wife's trust and she had to be on the loan too so they just couldn't add it to the loan. They had to restart the process completely over again.

    After we started the process, it went normal. I would submit documents then they would be requested again and again but the process got smoother as we moved into February. The closing which we did on March 17 went smooth. Right now, I'm satisfied with Amerisave. They did what they said they were going to do. There was an issue that had to do with the discount on the points and because of that time delay, it got higher. The rep's boss got involved and he did honor what it was back in November.

    I write this review to help others make an informed decision on selecting a dependable company for home refinance based on my experience. Unfortunately, I am having a horrible experience primarily due to lack of communication. I started the process with loan originator, Anthony **, in August 2020 and the process has not been completed (currently March, 29, 2021). During this time period, I missed the opportunity to lock in a solid rate because rates have increased since then. I had to initiate several of the conversations and would on occasion receive automated reminder texts because my financial documents would need to be updated. Perhaps it was the loan originator, so I attempted to switch over to a new loan originator, Jordan **. I was instructed it would take one hour to switch over the loan originator in the system and I would get a call back. Never got a call back. Where is the professionalism?

    I am grateful for the initial calls I had with Anthony. He thoroughly educated me on the process and presented options to me. However, once he got my $500 application fee, it is like he fell off the face of the earth. At one point, he emailed me saying he would call me, never did. I finally sent an email expressing my concerns about the timeliness, no response. The loan processor seemed to out of the loop too and uncoordinated. Conclusion: I feel so ashamed for trusting this company, so much lost time and money. If you are looking to refinance your home, evaluate if this is a process you are willing to go through, even if they can quote you a really good rate. It may not be worth the time and money, effort.

    I spoke with Lynn and she went through all the questions I had and she was timely in getting back to me. Lynn asked if it would be better to communicate through text or phone call. In the beginning, texting was good then we were able to touch base through a phone call. She went through everything. I told her what I was looking for and she went through what she felt was best. She sent me all the numbers. I was looking at a couple of different rates. She talked about the closing costs and she was really informative. I've never experienced that before with anybody so it was nice. She said, “If you go through this, your closing costs will be a little bit higher,” then explained the reason why. She worked with me as far as good timing for me and not for her. She was good at calling and shooting me a message. I live a busy lifestyle so I loved the text message from Lynn saying she sent a document that you needed to go over. It was so much easier.

    I ended up doing a 30-year conventional loan with AmeriSave. Their online application process was easy and I loved it. The application and underwriting process took a little bit longer but that was on me getting the information I needed to. Lynn even helped me. It could have gone a lot faster but I was holed up. The process went really smoothly. AmeriSave also worked around my schedule to close the loan. I liked that and it was so convenient. The rates were pretty good. I didn't understand the closing cost fees but Lynn explained that. She did a fabulous job and even the lady that came and we signed the papers. She was very polite and answered all of our questions.     I had already been starting the process with another company and wasn't satisfied at all so I started shopping again. Michael, the specialist that I contacted, was the second one that contacted me. The conversation, the rates and the whole process of him convinced me to go with Amerisave. The whole package was beautiful. There was a little bit of miscommunication at the beginning. The title company requested my husband's death certificate but he’s still alive. That part did scare me a little. The names were not that clear so they had to be corrected but they were fixed right away.

    I had some concerns after that situation with the paperwork and Michael immediately contacted me within the next day or so to make sure that everything was well. He's caring. I also had contact with his assistant so she was always on top of it too. If I had questions, they would answer. If I had concerns, they would be available. They would return my call right away.     In the beginning, the experience was great. I liked what AmeriSave has online. It’s really easy to collect documents. Sometimes, there are a little bit annoying reminders for the documents that I already uploaded. Why was I being asked for the same documents over and over again? The reps told me it was because there was a bug in the system.

    I had a negative experience when AmeriSave switched the representatives. Our representative wasn’t at work for about two weeks and there was no message from her. I called every day about it and I emailed as well. When I called customer care, they would say our representative was in the office and that she would get back to us. I found out she was actually out of the office. We could message with her once then she disappeared again. Another two weeks passed. It had been a month before someone actually connected with me and they assigned another representative. She was great. The only problem with everything was we lost one month of nothing.

    In the beginning, I was recommending AmeriSave to everyone. But when I lost that one month and I ended up paying all those points, which was unfair, that was something I had to mention to my friends. That was alerting to me and I stopped recommending AmeriSave. I lost a lot of money and I don’t want my friends to lose money too. I’ve been cautious since then.

    I usually go to another company but I really liked AmeriSave in the beginning because the representative worked so fast. There was also the promise that whatever the quote was, that was what we were gonna get. But the promise didn’t stay because of that one month. That was not my fault and that didn't work for me. The other company, on the other hand, was honest. I used it for refinance. I knew exactly what’s going on. But technology-wise, the experiences I’m getting right now with AmeriSave are great.

    It’s important for people to understand how AmeriSave's system works. AmeriSave does paper first then they lock the rate. This is unlike other companies that lock the rate but then you are probably running into possibilities that it's not going to close on time and you pay points. I had a really good rate. I would have rather locked it with someone and taken a chance that it may not close within 45 days. Knowing how organized I am, I never had the problem to close my loans within 30 to 45 days. But with AmeriSave, my loan closed in 90 days and I lost my rate.

    Keeping their information current and up-to-date on the internet will help relieve some of the anxieties that folks like me have. They could let folks know what their process is and how they help get the loan needed. But Mahmoud, the rep I worked with, was very involved. The belief that they're not trying to take me for my money type of feeling helped with my anxiety. Somebody was legitimately working with me, making sure that I had all the information, and walked me through the process on the website. I felt good about it. One minor complaint I have is that when I believed the checks were going to go to the bank, it was mailed to my home. I'm temporarily assigned in another state and I had to drive all the way back to handle the business.

    Other than that, I was going through this process with a good friend of mine, who was using another lender, and I told him that I've had nothing but a good experience.     I was working with Amerisave on a refinance of my primary residence. I was given rate and fee terms, we got to the title completion. I was told that the were "guaranteed" per company policy that they wouldn't change. I asked repeatedly to lock the rate and fees during the process, they said that wouldn't be necessary and it was "guaranteed" to stay the same while I closed the one, single and last title company item. I kept insisting, they kept assuring that it wasn't necessary. They refused to lock the rate and fees. They said in no uncertain terms, that the risk was on them, not me. After each step of the title company solutions, Amerisave told me the rates and fees were guaranteed not to change. They would honor the rates and fees.

    I had asked to lock the loan rate and fees over and over again. Each time assured that it would not change; per “guarantee of company policy”. They again assured that they were taking the risk, not me. After $1200 of costs to provide the title company with documents that never should have been required, that morning I submitted all documents, emailed the company and let them know, the company then called me and apologized that my loan rates and fees will no longer be honored and they will require $22K more in points fees to keep the promised rate. The promised "guarantee" was no longer going to be held and company policy had changed as of today.

    This bait and switch will cost me $35,788.45 over the life of the loan. The origination agent apologizes over and over again to me repeatedly over the next weeks. Promises that a senior VP will call and fix the situation. They never called. I called over and over and over again. I eventually got a competitor to give an alternative at the now higher rates Amerisave was offering, and the competitor got to closing ready in 16 days. I called and let Amerisave know. The promised to generate compensation for the situation and moved me to close at rates I never agreed to, but by looking at the disclosures, they assume that means I agreed to close. They scheduled a closing and two days before closing at the modified rate and fees, which I never consented to. I called to stop them.

    The senior manager called back finally and openly made it very clear that Amerisave was knowingly taking on the risk of floating rates while the times were good over the last year, they were not shy about telling clients this, but that things changed this last month. He stated that they were taking on that risk during the year due to protracted closing times. That the risk was theirs, at least by their word and the intended appearance to the consumer. They were using that position to assure the clients and gain their business.

    The reality is that Amerisave was lying. Amerisave was never taking any risk, because as soon as the financial consequences of those risks that “they were supposedly taking” came to fruition, they immediately shifted all responsibility and consequences of those risks immediately back onto the client. In other words, it was a sham and a scam. They created the public illusion that the client wasn’t taking in the risk, but the company was. However in reality, the client was always the one taking the risk regardless of the false statements by the company. Because they never held to the guarantee, they didn’t take on the consequences of that risk. They need to be held accountable to the fraud and predatory practice of promising borrowers no risk and guarantees, but then walking away with clients money when it wasn’t to their advantage.

    The process with AmeriSave was very fast. The only thing that held me up was I could not find my letter from Social Security and I had to request it. Now, had I not had to request it, we probably would have closed in less than three weeks. I had everything ready but I didn't have that letter. So when I got the letter, they closed in no time. There was a glitch from the attorney's office that closed our home, mailing the checks to State Farm to pay off our vehicles. This had been going on since February 11th but it finally cleared yesterday. When we needed some help getting the closure on the vehicle, I got a little frustrated because I'd call our rep and text him and he wouldn't call me back. So then I would finally get a text. I'd rather have had a phone call than a text. Other than that, when I called, he was pretty on the spot.

    I originally started my refinance process with AmeriSave because the reviews stated quick closings. I provided them with all requested documentation and after more than 90 days, countless emails expressing my concerns about interest rates rising, duplicate requests for information already provided, and my countless questions about the holdup, they finally indicated that they were ready to close but first I had to speak to the loan manager (who was out of town for 3 days and was apparently was the only person able to tell me that too much time had passed and that now I would owe money to keep the original rate).

    I called Ladera the same day I was advised of the new rate by AmeriSave, spoke to Robert **, 16 days later we closed with Ladera. Same info provided to both companies in the same timely manner. Ladera’s process was extremely streamlined and Robert at Ladera Lending was EXCELLENT! Highly recommend them, the only positive thing I have to say about AmeriSave is that they agreed to, and did, refund my $500 application fee. I 100% stand by the factual content of this review.

    AmeriSave Mortgage is a deceptive company. Friday my wife and I received information from AmeriSave titled "Notice to Home Loan Applicant." The documentation showed our credit scores from the 3 credit reporting agencies. The problem was that we had never heard of AmeriSave and did NOT apply for a Home Loan through AmeriSave (or anyone else).

    On Monday I called the number on the documentation and reached "Brett" (if that was his real name). He told me he was licensed in AZ. When I explained that we had never applied for a Home Loan and that I was concerned that someone had misappropriated our social security numbers, he kept saying "Well, this is like a menu. No one stole your social security number. This was only a soft pull." He explained that he did not have my social security number. When I asked how was he able to pull our credit scores if he didn't have our social security numbers, he hung up. Again, we never applied to AmeriSave for a home loan and we certainly did not authorize Brett to use our social security numbers to pull a credit report, soft or otherwise. BEWARE of this company. They are pulling “soft” credit reports without permission apparently as part of a marketing scheme.

The rep was very kind, sweet and easygoing. He answered all of my questions and even if I had silly questions, he didn't make me feel crazy for asking those. AmeriSave made the process easy as well.     My experience with Amerisave is even though they seem quick and mostly thorough, they never call you back. I'd also worked with them when they did a modification of my mortgage in 2008. You might get messages through them by email but no one ever answers the phone. I talked to my loan officer the first time when I initiated the loan and that was the very last time I ever talked to her. When things went slightly awry and they had the wrong good faith estimate and other stuff together that were not as committed, I had to talk to her. But it always seemed like it was a struggle getting ahold of people. They don't ever want to be in verbal communication.

    I've had a lot of properties so I'm very familiar with the loan process. This one was kind of weird in the sense that they did not communicate very effectively. They were good but if they communicated better, it would have been a big advantage. My daughter is doing a loan with them also and that's exactly the experience she is going through. She's got a problem where they're not honoring their rates and terms, and she can't even speak to anybody. They can send out email after email but if they’re not gonna be responsive to that, it doesn't mean anything.

    I shop a lot of rates off of websites and what happens when you do that is you high volume kind of lenders who go to a million loans because they're not charging you as much. As a consequence, you don't get all the same customer service you do with a small lender who might charge you higher rates but who babies you through the whole process. The process with Amerisave ended up taking 60 days and it's kind of dragged on. They were telling me they were going to get it done in 30 days. I didn't know when the final approval would come. I kept asking then all of a sudden, they sent me a text that they were waiting for me to sign. They got the rate done and it ended up okay. The rates and terms were all good but it's kind of weird that they don't have a website where you can make a mortgage payment on. You have to do an auto draw with them or you have to phone it.

    I wanted to Refi so reached out to approx. 6 different lenders: some on-line, some banks/Credit Unions where I bank, or local lender. I contacted Amerisave, spoke with Martin D. He made many promises of his accessibility and availability. My experience: Just the opposite!!! I took a lot of time applying, uploaded docs, signing e disclosures, etc, Yet when I needed to get an answer or something changed or explained he did NOT respond to my emails or calls. If you say something: FOLLOW thru. Poor experience with the customer service I received Jan and Feb of this year 2021.

    I would go elsewhere in my opinion- save yourself the headache and frustration. Not sure how they got rating so high-not my experience. Did find an article from 2014 where they were found guilty of "Bait and switch"... I need people who follow through and are integrous. Went with a local lender and couldn't have been happier. Loan closed today, with excellent customer service.

    Going with AmeriSave was pretty much a price decision thing. In getting all the details updated on my homeowner’s certificate, I had some technical problems with uploading documents. I kept getting pushed to upload them. If a customer is having a problem and AmeriSave had an email address where a customer could say, “I've tried this. Here you go. Have somebody else upload them.” That probably would help and make things easier. Other than that, everything was fine and I was happy overall.

    Josh told me from the beginning that I would not have any trouble because I had such a great credit score. But then, it seemed like I had problem after problem. They wanted a survey and an appraisal and they didn’t communicate with me. I had to do all that, other than the appraisal, for which they sent a guy out here. Also, I couldn't get answers to my questions. I couldn't get Josh and his supervisor to answer me. Then, I called AmeriSave and I didn't know there was one here in Texas. I had been working with the office out of Georgia. But the rep in Texas answered the question real quick for me.

    I’m not computer savvy and I did a lot of the process over the telephone. Josh helped me with it but it could have been a faster and easier process. And there were a few things that could have been different. Had I known there's AmeriSave here in Texas, I would have worked with them.     Terrible experience! Loan was never locked and lost a significant amount of money. We were told that the "higher ups" made the decision not to lock the loan. Inconsistent in follow up and response. The loan amount was wrong at closing despite being told it was corrected. We had to do most of the leg work in getting our own payoff. Internal communication within Amerisave is lacking and the Title company said Amerisave did not get them the correct information to fund the loan on time.

    Amerisave mortgage rep. William called me and offered me to refinance my property in November. Based on the rates and fees quoted, I started the application on December 10. I was told that Amerisave don't lock the rates but I am guaranteed to get the rates in the initial disclosure, if the rates move up. I asked to lock the rates multiple times. But they refused to do so. As of March 11, after three months, my loan is still in approved (after underwriting) status, waiting to be closed. Amerisave now says they need Senior manager's approval to honor the initial rates, since the rates have gone up. The loan has been on waiting mode for some time.

    I just lost my money and time, I paid $500 for the mortgage origination fees and the process was so slow, I wait 3 months and nothing happened, They asked me for documents that they suppose to obtain like pay off from the current lender. Amerisave never lock the rate, I may change as getting close to the closing date. Another bad thing was a $4000 cash-to-close increase from my original Loan estimate, I noticed this on the Disclosure documents. I changed to another lender and the closing cost was super easy, it was completed in just 3 weeks with a better rate, I suggest looking for other options before applying with this lender (Amerisave).

I just answered his questions then I uploaded some documents. That was very simple. The frustrating thing was something that was supposed to take 30 days took three months. There was no problems with us. The people that were doing the underwriting were having problems. They kept asking for the documents and wanting to know the payoff for something I wasn't getting the loan for. It was just weird. Curtis had to do a lot of apologizing for the underwriters and everything else. On the whole, I wouldn't recommend AmeriSave. Try somebody else.

    AmeriSave had a really good interest rate so I was able to refinance from a 3.5 to a 2.5 for 15 years as opposed to 30 years. Everything went really well. I dealt with Sarah and she was absolutely amazing. I ask a lot of questions and I can probably be quite a pain sometimes, but she was always really good about getting back to me and answering all my questions.

    I did some research online and AmeriSave seemed to have good rates. I worked with them to refinance my investment property and my primary. The application and underwriting took over two months. I expected it to take less time. They said that it took a little longer than expected because they needed some documentation from our association in our investment property. Our primary moved a little faster because we started later and finished first. Ernest was our rep and he was good. He was always returning my calls. He always talked to me when needed and when I had questions. I need him now. I have a question. Now that everything is finalized, AmeriSave is not getting back to me anymore.

    The rate we got during the refinance was good at the time. After we started, rates went down a little bit. But then, we didn't want to start again. The reason for that is because we had Mr. Cooper in our primary before and we were going to refinance our investment property with them. But we were four months in already and they couldn't finalize it. We dropped them and we started with AmeriSave. In the process, we realized rates were low. We tried to refinance our primary already so it can save some money.

My wife's last name was also wrong in one of the documents. I sent this lady away. They had to print the document again. They then called me that they went over the numbers and we finally signed the papers.     One of the things that stood out with Amerisave was the quality of service when I talked to the person that was working with me. He was quite responsive to all my queries. There were times when he did not have an answer and he would let me know that he would come back on it. He was good at keeping in touch on the emails. I would love to have him again if I get another chance. Another thing is that there was a clear communication during the process around all the questions that I raised regarding the interest rates and making sure that the numbers are correct even before the whole process was put in for closing purposes.

    The application process was pretty straightforward and I did like the website. There’s a pop-up window where it says what document to upload. But I would have expected an option for me to upload any document. I don't have to wait for the processor to come back and tell me what document they needed. I should be able to go and upload it and not wait for a pop-up to show an option for me to upload that particular document. I had to email those documents which I did not want to happen. I would rather upload all the documents in one place.

    I'm a very difficult consumer to capture and I would compare the offers very carefully. AmeriSave had the best deal and the mortgage officer, Josh, went out of his way to make sure it was the best deal possible. He was super simple to work with. We went over the options as far as buying it down and the cost I was gonna incur from buying it down versus getting the better rate. We tweaked it out. I received a call from Amerisave offering to get me good rates but in order to do this was asked to give 500 dollars which I was not told was for the quotes. I backed down and decided not to go through with the process and now I'm told it was an application fee and non refundable. If this had been made clear to me from the beginning I would have not proceeded with the so called getting quotes. 500 is a lot of money for quotes. Sorry but I consider them predatory.

    I went online and AmeriSave was one of the top 10. I happened to contact them through that. I also noticed that they had a lot of advertisements on TV, after the fact. I contacted them with an email then I received a phone call from one of the brokers there. They gave all the emails and they just told me what I needed to supply them with. I sent them PDFs of the information they needed for the loan. They got back to me if they needed something different or something else. The online application process was pretty good.

    Katherine was our rep and she was excellent. She was on top of everything and she would send us emails or she'd call me at home in the evening, after-hours, to help me go through the process really quickly.     Refinancing is a long process. So, the beginning phone calls are probably the most important because those are the time you are entering this thing and getting more detailed information. Every time I call AmeriSave, the rep there picks up the phone. They helped me all the time in the first half of the process. That's good enough for me and that's why I like AmeriSave. They also had a lower rate. After the first part of the process, their rep was no longer there always talking to me. I understand that. I'm doing a second mortgage with them as well.

    Everybody relies on an automatic system. They cut costs. But the problem is the second half of the process, I constantly receive emails from AmeriSave asking me for more information, even though I've already given them the information before. I also called and told them that I had given them in different ways. I had emailed the loan processor or I'd upload the information based on their direction but I was still receiving emails asking me for the same information. The rep said that those things were generated automatically.

    Fortunately, I kept all information backed up in my drive so every time AmeriSave asked, I could just give them my gap. But I hate to give them the same thing again and again. Also, those are confidential information and I don't want them flying on the internet all the time. So that's one thing that they need to improve. After the main loan processor finished his part, he passed it to a different assistant and the same thing happened again. AmeriSave sent me an email and I replied and told them not to send me the email again. Then the next day, the email comes again. It just pops automatically.

    On the second mortgage, an appraisal has to be done. The appraisal was supposed to be done about two weeks ago already. The reason why we cannot do it is because of the schedule we've had before with the tenant. The tenant got COVID and we didn't want the appraiser to step in the house. AmeriSave said that the appraiser didn't have to go into the house. They could just go outside, take the measurement and get the major dimensions. I found my survey plan that showed how large the property was and the floor plan from the builder. So we know what's going on inside the house. I gave those to them and I talked to the appraiser as well. The appraiser said that the information was good enough and he would see if they could generate the appraisal report and give a reasonable estimate of the house value this way. I've been actively cooperating with them and they will probably go to the property on March 15.

    In the next couple of weeks, we'd probably be able to close this loan. I asked AmeriSave if there was anything else that I needed to do or to help. But so far, nobody answered me. The whole process is already on the way but I still need confirmation from them if there's anything else that needs to be done. There's a limitation of 90 days for the lock rate and I don't want it to be expired. So now, I'm just waiting. Everybody is talking about refinancing because everybody knows the rate is low and I've told them my story with AmeriSave and recommend them.

    We started a mortgage refinance December 11, 2020. Today is February 23, 2021 with no closing date in sight. Our account manager, Brett, will not lock in a rate for us. We paid the $500 fee over a month ago, which we were told would lock the rate. Brett now says the rate won't be locked until almost closing. He said as of today, February 23, 2021 rates have gone up from when we first started the process so we have to pay more points if we want our original rate.

    At one point, at the end of January, rates went down. Brett said he would send paperwork reflecting the new rate. A few days later when we had not gotten any documents I contacted Brett. He said we lost out on the lower rate because the title dept. contacted our flood insurance for a certificate and they were told our insurance was cancelled. This is ** because not only did I send over insurance documents in December, I sent a copy of my mortgage escrow page showing the flood insurance premium was paid Dec. 19, 2020.

    AmeriSave website states whole process would be approximately 45 days to close. There are delays in receiving replies to our calls and e-mails; excuses, claims of documents/information we previously sent not being received. We have purchased 4 homes and this will be our third refinance. Never have we had to wait until almost closing to lock in a rate! No idea when we are closing...Will update posting as new information is available.

    The process is terrible. But the person who ran the process was the most helpful person I've ever worked with. I've done this before. It was the first time that I did it with one of these national things where everything literally is done through the internet. I had a woman named Jessica and of all the people who called me when I was trying to decide what I wanted to do, she kept, not nagging me, but saying, “Hey, I'm here.” And that worked out good. I finally said, “Okay, I'll see what she's got.” And I said, “I want to have the lowest interest rate possible so that my monthly payment would be as low as possible.” That means that I don't have to worry about having some excess points sitting around. Because I can always deduct that, assuming we go back to that normal tax thing.

    She had me go through this thing where I could play off the amount of money that I would have to lay in points to the interest rate. That was absolutely perfect. I could do it myself. I did not have to ask a question and wonder whether, “Oh, yeah. That's what they say the lowest rate is.” This was right on the thing. And if I didn't like it, hang up. Sorry, Jessica. That's the end.

    I got a 2%, and that's the rate that I’m paying. It's not the effective interest rate because you have to factor in the amount of points that you're leaving on the line. But I didn't care because all I want to do is go up to heaven peacefully. So I said to Jessica, “Okay, yeah. I see 2%. How do I make sure I get that?” And then she explained the process for locking in and what we would have to do. She was very good at that.

    The problem was Jessica was dealing with the screwiest information system that I've ever seen. They would ask, “Okay, this is what we need. We need it instantly if you want to save you money.” Okay, I put it in, and then the next day, I would get another thing. Ever heard of the term, the death of a thousand cuts? It's a Chinese torture. That's what AmeriSave’s information system is.

    As we got further along, in December, I got this thing that said, “Congratulations. Your mortgage is approved and we'll be moving toward closing.” “Oh, my God, that's a lot faster than Jessica said.” It turned out, for whatever reason, that was their stupid computer system. So we went through early January. And then this happened every week. There was something coming in. I had a problem with my aged computers. The computers are fine for what I want to do with them. I've got two laptops, one will run my printer/scanner combination, but only to scan something. I've got the other one that I use for most of my stuff that will print on this thing, but only print. And it will go on the internet. But the other one won't go on the internet, so I couldn't scan my mortgage bill and get it on to the internet.

    I made trips up to Staples, and that didn't bother me. It wasn't that expensive. But then, many times, I would put the stuff in and couldn't get them to recognize it. Jessica helped me more than most people that I've dealt with have helped me. I’ve got an iPhone 6s and she taught me how to take a picture of a document and send it to her, and then she loaded in a thing. And we kept getting these stupid things. I must have gotten five or six things saying, “Congratulations. You're moving to closing now,” or words to that effect. But she helped me.

    And then it got worse. When we were getting close to closing, she indicated that I would have to have the attorney come to me. Okay, because we've done that in the past. She indicated that early in the game, because I said we would go wherever the guy was. But she said, “No, he'll come to you.” As we were getting right into the closing thing, her manager indicated that she felt that I had been mistreated. I guess I'm used to that. Because a lot of the problems were with the title company. I kept getting these closing documents. And after I got tired of reading them until we got to the final, but I noticed that the amount of funds I would get back, which were in the $5,000 to $8,000 range, kept changing. I understood why they were changing, because they had overestimated the amount of money that I would owe a couple of my other companies.

    But then all of a sudden, it would cost me $600 something to have the lawyer show up. That was a surprise. I've never had to pay for an attorney to show up. I did not raise that issue with Jessica. But she was upset because the title company hadn't put that in. So there we were right at the close, and all of a sudden, there was this charge showing up for $600 something. Not a great amount.

    AmeriSave said that American Title owed me money because of the way they handled these things. And I haven't got that yet. I had to pay something that I really didn't intend to pay, or at least half of it. That pissed me off. Then they would send me a check. And Texas got all kinds of snow, freezing weather, and they were going to FedEx that check to me. It took a week or more before FedEx even picked it up. It took five days for FedEx to actually get it on the ground to Boston. And then from Boston, it took them four days, but that included a weekend to get the thing from Logan Airport up to me, 26 miles.

    But other than that, I've recommended Jessica. I was a little worried about AmeriSave. Because when you look at the Better Business Bureau report, some of those things about the people who initiated it, and then they never hear from them again. I've had that experience with a lot of people, particularly in the mortgage business. But Jessica, when she said to me, “We're still working on seeing if you can get the refund,” my reply was, “I guess, Jessica, I can always trust that you will do what you believe is right.” Jessica was super. She helped me and I had a good opinion of AmeriSave based on that one person.

    Get somebody who understands the process. Take somebody who has been through the process. There didn't seem to be the need to tell me that we were proceeding to the closing. And then a couple of days later, “Oh, and one more thing you got to supply.” Whatever AmeriSave does to get rid of that would be a real improvement.

    We refinanced a couple of years ago and we had it took forever. This one was really quick. The application process was easy. The rate and the terms we got were excellent. Couldn't beat it. I was happy with the way everything went. It was a good experience.

    The rep was very good and helpful during our refinance with AmeriSave. But the application and underwriting process took a long time. They said it was because of the delay on the mortgage insurance. It took at least three months to close it. In the mortgage that I had before with Cardinal, I was given a date since Day One. They said that they were gonna close at this date and they were very tight on time. We had plenty of time. But with AmeriSave, I didn’t have a closing date at first. After three months, I got a call and they said that they could close after a week. Other than that, everything else was good with AmeriSave. I'm happy.

    My experience with Amerisave was excellent. We had a wonderful loan officer Katie **. She kept my wife and I up to date during the entire process. I would highly recommend AmeriSave Mortgage if you want to save money with a lower rate.
