Why would you tape a notice on the front gate with blue painters tape for the whole neighborhood to see? Very unprofessional! They wouldn't even talk to the sister, only living relative, about the loan. RUDE!!

American Advisors Group's loan officer was courteous. He explained what reverse mortgage was all about and he was willing to explain things to me. The whole process only took about 30 minutes and everything went fine.

I needed money so I looked into getting a reverse mortgage from AAG. They really explained everything to me and helped me go through the different steps to achieve my end goal. My loan officer was very nice too.

We saw AAG on television about the refinance then we went online, and Zac contacted us. We are 75 and 74, and we love our house which we have lived in for quite a while. But we're getting up in age and there are a few medical bills and a few other things that we got. We didn't wanna put pressure on our kids, so we decided to do a reverse mortgage. So, AAG had a consultant call us and we went through the process with her. She asked us a few questions and we answered them correctly.

I looked into reverse mortgage because the cash flow is a little tight, and I didn’t want to have a monthly payment going up. I also wanna do some renovations to our current home and have it fully paid for. I chatted with AAG and they sounded good. I worked with Rob and our interaction has been very good. They also had the counseling session and it went well. They’ve been very good.

I did a Google search on the best reverse mortgage companies and I went through Consumer Report. I also did some research with AARP and with our HUD counselor. They had a list of reverse mortgage companies and American Advisors Group was at the top. So, we decided to go with them. My dad just passed away on October and it helped to know that my mom wouldn’t have to be putting out that amount of mortgage since her income would be cut in half as she would not have my dad’s security anymore. And the payout at closing really helped. Our rep, Jared, was good at explaining how the reverse mortgage worked with the interest, the home equity line of credit after the first year and how it builds on it, and that she can draw from it. He was very kind and considerate, too.

Anthony ** was our advisor, he was always very patient. He answered our questions with knowledge and professionalism. He checked up with what he calls “follow up Fri”, to make sure we had no question unanswered. The process was painless and professional. I would recommend AAG to anyone wanting a reverse mortgage.

I had a line of credit that was coming due and I didn't know how I was going to come up with an extra $300 a month. When I saw the American Advisors Group commercial, I thought that I would check them out to see if it would be good for me. Any time I had a question, Aileen, the lady who took care of me, was always able to answer it. AAG had done a good job of getting everything that I needed done, like getting the appraiser to come out. Moreover, everything was done at a good rate of time and I'm very happy with it. I'd tell others to call and talk to an advisor. They'll sit down with you and tell you everything that you can expect, what a reverse mortgage is, and how it's done by HUD.

About five years ago, I very vaguely looked into reverse mortgages. I was curious what they were. Then several years ago, I had taken most of my money out of my retirement to pay the house off. I thought that I was living on a fixed income and could live very comfortably month to month on that. I also had enough to put in a small amount in savings.

I've been dealing with Bill and I understand that he's off sick. I left two messages Friday with his supervisor, but he didn't call me back. Since then, I've been trying to reach someone. Yesterday, I reached someone and talked to a Thomas. He informed me that with my concerns, someone would absolutely call me before the end of the day, but they did not.

My house needed some repairs and doing a reverse mortgage was one of the possibilities I looked at. AAG require a counseling service and it was probably the most beneficial thing I have done in my lifetime. The counselor was very good, very informative and helped me understand a whole lot of stuff I didn’t understand. And then, the loan officer was knowledgeable and he had all the facts. It is my first experience with them and I’m still working with them. They’re doing a good job in answering all of my questions and concerns.

I was looking into doing a mortgage with Discover Bank and my brother-in-law said, "You know, they're not the only ones out there." That got me to thinking, and then I got an email about the AAG, so I thought what's the harm in just asking for information? And so, I did and I got a callback within less than an hour after putting my information in. And they have rolled on this so much. It was November when I talked to Antoinette from AAG and the process was rolled right along. With the Discover Bank, I started this process in September. It is December now and they are still horsing around. With Discover, if they sent somebody out to do an appraisal of my house, they never set a time, they never came inside, nothing. At least, with AAG, they've had an appraiser come in and take pictures so they could appraise the house.

American Advisors Group worked well with the customer and was very thorough. They went through the whole thing with me, explained everything, and was very helpful. The rep was very professional, nice, and informative. He was very business-like, and very personable, and very helpful. I liked all that. When he was going out of town, he switched me over to another lady. That lady called and said she received a form from our counseling guy that we needed to sign. We made a copy of it and I called her to ask what her fax number was and I haven’t heard anything. I’ve left her several messages, and she hasn’t returned my calls. Other than that, AAG offers a lot of services and so far, everything’s going great with the reverse mortgage.

My income is limited and stuck in one place, and reverse mortgage would be the best way to handle situations for me. The AAG loan officer I worked with was wonderful. She’s a darling. She is nice and accommodating, and she is right on all the time, answers my questions, no hemming and hawing, just genuinely a person-to-person person. She doesn’t act like she knows it all or she’s better than anybody else. She’s just like having-a-cup-of-coffee-at-the-table person. She was able to guide me 100% and she has lots of patience.

I'm trapped into a reverse mortgage by my mortgage company who is threatening to raise my house payment to $7,000 a month in January. Initially, I went through a provider and they were upset because I was involved in two lawsuits. They didn't feel that my answer that my attorney would not let me discuss it with them was adequate, so they were giving me a bad time about it. I hung up on them and changed to American Advisors Group. My interaction with their loan officer was great. He was very comforting and very sympathetic. I've been in the hospital for the past few weeks, so we sort of lost touch, but I called him from the hospital and assured him that I was gonna survive. I told him that I would see his representative in the hospital if he wished and I did so. So, things are now getting back on track.

We heard about a reverse mortgage and we decided to do it. Craig, the rep at American Advisors Group, let us know how it could help and that there are other options out there if we wanna look into other things before we do it. We had a great experience with them and Craig explained everything that we needed to know. We’re still working with him and so far, he’s been very helpful. He keeps us updated and he’s been good.

I saw AAG's ad on television and it sounded like they had their stuff together. Their loan officer that I deal with is very thorough and he covered everything. We're still going through the process and I was with the notary yesterday. The communication has been great and they've kept up with me and everything else. Usually, I get a callback every time something happens. My loan officer checks in to make sure I got all the emails and he's been great as far as that's concerned.

I saw AAG’s ad on Facebook, so I started reading about them, and then I filled in the thing they have there at the end. The next day, they called me back. So that was really nice. They’ve been really helpful and they’ve answered all my questions. The application process was very easy. They made it very simple to understand. They won’t try to put anything over on you and people my age, we like everything upfront and explained thoroughly, and it was. The loan officer made me feel very comfortable and at ease, and he made everything clear. There was no high pressure. He told me what it was all about, and we went over it, and he stayed in contact before my counseling session. So he’s been right with me through the whole process, so far. I really appreciate that. I understand the rate and terms more now. The counselor, Myra, I think from Horizon Counseling cleared up a few things.

I saw AAG's commercial on TV and I trust the spokesperson on that commercial. Now, I got an appointment this coming Wednesday to sign the application. The process has been going on for about 3 weeks and it's going through normally. Other than the loan officer being a little forgetful sometimes, everything is okay.

My experience was great both. Special credit goes to customer rep. Brett **. at AAG reverse mortgage lender. You can count on them to be upfront, honest and they are the gold standard for people who need assistance. I would easily recommend them to anyone in need of reverse mortgage help. JY.

My wife and I are both in our late 60s, and we just thought reverse mortgage would be a good way to use some of the equity in the house. My wife looked up several companies online and AAG was the one that she felt most comfortable with. We had a lady in California by the name of Kim and she has been wonderful. She has answered all of our questions and as things are moving along the process, she has been almost holding our hand every step of the way letting us know what to expect. She told us that we would be getting a call from a reverse mortgage counselor. We got to pick one from several of their reverse mortgage counselors and he answered all of our questions.

I have a couple of bills I wanna pay off and a reverse mortgage seemed like the way to do it. I went with AAG and I'm very satisfied with them. They're the one that called me back and I liked the way the rep talked. I liked his attitude. He was very precise. He seemed to do a very good job and kept me informed on things. I'm very happy about that because I like to stay informed. He sent me down the right path and gave me quite a few phone numbers to call up for the counseling. I called one and I went with that one.

At first, I was just seeing what was involved, how it worked and more important information. I went with them and they handled my situation very well. The representative was very knowledgeable. He was able to explain everything in an easy to understand manner and answered pretty well all my questions before I had the chance to ask him. It was fairly easy to stay in contact with them. We had a couple of phone calls. We went through the credit and then it took about an hour to sign all the paperwork for the application. The rates and terms sounded pretty good as well.

They came to my house yesterday to appraise it. So, I’m not at the end of the road yet, but I’m getting there. But it moved along very quickly. My loan officer couldn't be better. She was very pleasant and so sweet. She is there to help, and she is open. I have never seen her face-to-face, but I like her.

My wife and I had been talking about getting a reverse mortgage, and AAG was the only one that told me what the deal was. Plus some of the comments they had on Facebook were pretty good. They’ve always been courteous and kind, and they’ve always hooked me up with the right people and done me a good job. Terry is very likable and knowledgeable. I’ve had to call him a couple of times, but that’s just phone tag. I’ve usually been able to get right through to him, and he’d usually call if I left a message. He has always sent me prior things to let me know what's going on.

Several years ago, I advised a friend to consider AAG. She went with them and was very happy, which was why I consulted as well. I looked into getting a reverse mortgage because of my age and declining health. But I found that I'm not in a position where I need to borrow money to be able to exist financially. And right now, it wouldn't be advisable. Our agent was wonderful and a sweetheart. And the person that did my consultation to make sure I understood what I was doing was great.

They really worked with me. They came out here and told me I had to tear down the barn. But it is not part of my property. They said it wouldn't pass inspection, and they would keep reducing the value of my property. My loan officer was Barbara and she was really nice. She worked on everything she could and she told me I don't have any credit. But she tried really hard. She called me back and said they couldn't help me. She then called me two weeks later asking if she could do a little poking around the house. But I said no.

My wife and I are going for a divorce. I’m gonna stay with the house and she wants some money so she can live her life after 39 years. She has been looking for lending companies for several months ahead. Our house is paid for, so she was probably thinking about getting a reverse mortgage. I called up American Advisors Group and I talked to Frank out in California. We're about the same age and he’s just somebody I can talk to. He’s been doing fine for my part but my wife has called him up a few times and was impatient. I've been working with AAA since last part of October. It has not been that long but she’s the one pushing it because she’s trying to claim that she’s spending too much money for her lawyer. But so far, I’m satisfied with everything. Everything is cool. I’m just waiting for the appraisal and I’ve been waiting for over a week now.

The AAG loan officer was great, informative, fantastic, and never too busy to talk to me. I was impressed with his knowledge and his helpfulness. He isn’t allowed to say, “You should do this” or “You should do that”, and he’s been able to answer the general questions I had. I was extremely comfortable throughout the process.

I needed cash out and I worked with American Advisors. If they have more information on the website it would be better, and have more ability to crunch around numbers ahead of time. I have to go through the loan officer to get numbers done, when other companies offer calculators. So, a calculator on the website would have helped a lot. I've been in the process for about two weeks now and their rep said it’ll be another 30 days. They have been easy to get hold of.

The loan officer at AAG was very good. He pretty much answered the questions that I had. They helped me as far as some of the things that I didn't know.

I’m old and retired, and my wife is sick. My biggest debt is credit card so I worked with AAG. I did the application and the girl that was doing it made a mistake, and she had to come back last week and correct that. So far, so good. The AAG woman that I’m working with has been real nice.

I saw American Advisory Group on TV a long time ago and then, I talked with some friends who have it. Another company sent me a text message this morning saying that they can offer 40% better upfront money than AAG can and I almost went with them but I didn’t respond to them. Bonnie, the rep from AAG, was thorough. I had a question about the money that would be available after one year and I was told it would only be $100 and some, and I complained about that. She went back for me and got a lot more than that. She was diligent and she did a good job. Whatever issues I had, AAG worked with me fairly. It wasn’t excellent but it was good. Still, people should make sure they’re getting the best interest rate and the best equity. I wouldn’t just jump on the bandwagon with AAG right away, I would do a lot of checking first before I decide on which company to go with.

I had a reverse mortgage before and we decided we needed to have a little more money in the bank to get us through for the few years we probably have left. Also, the higher interest that we were paying didn’t go much lower and every little bit counts. I went on my computer and started looking and saw that AAG is a 5-star. There was a new company in our local area, but I’d never heard of it before and I've heard of AAG, which was why I called them. The gentleman I've been talking to, Robert, was very helpful, nice and good at explaining everything. He did very well on answering questions. I felt very comfortable working with him and I didn’t mind talking to him at all. We’ve gone to the point of the first signing and he moved that right along as we made decisions. He was very good.

I did a little research on different companies and it seemed to be that American Advisors Group was recommended as the number one reverse mortgage company. Matt, the rep, stayed in touch with me and explained all the things that I would have to go through to complete the reverse mortgage. He was nice and eager to answer all the questions that I had. He said he would get in contact with me and at a certain time, he did. He was prompt. I had all my questions answered, so I wasn’t under any pressure and I was comfortable with the process.

American Advisors Group was one of the few options I had available and I liked the terms of it better than some of the other ones. Everything was good when I talked to their staff. I just had someone come out here for the counselling part you gotta get for the certificate. I’m getting ready for the appraisal and the experience with AAG has been great so far.

Somebody from AAG called me and I answered their questions. Their program seemed pretty simple and I like the ease of finding stuff out. So far, so good.

I did a research and the internet said they were the best in the business. They were efficient and they followed up. But it was a waste where I gotta pay $140 to listen to some lady just telling me something that I already knew. The paperwork tells the same thing she was saying.

I like the setup of the program at AAG and just the fact that I didn’t have to pay anything back until I sold the house. I had to call the counsel, and they talked to me. The loan officer was very clear in explaining things and very easy to understand. The explained and answered my questions in simple words and made it easy for me to understand. He helped me like a patient. He never acted like he was in any hurry. He was easy to talk to. I was pretty much at ease. It’s been a pleasant experience.

My wife and I have had some health problems. Wanting to protect ourselves from anything that might happen, we looked into reverse mortgage and AAG seems to be the most well-known outfit I could find. Our rep is very good at what he does and he knows exactly what you're looking for. He was very professional and he explained everything well. I felt very comfortable through the process. Aside from calling, he would also email me a lot of information.

My rep from AAG is very personable and he knows his business. Before I did the consultation, he took me through all the things that I needed to know so that I didn't have any confusion. But he wasn't trying to convince me of something. He was just providing information. The process has been going along now and it's helpful to have good people because I am normally very loan-averse. He has been guiding me through it very comfortably. We've done the counseling and the notary, and the assessors will come at some point soon. It has been a wonderful experience so far.

I was given a list of companies to choose from and I picked American Advisors Group (AAG). I called them and they sent out a notary public gal to sign some papers. She came out, she went over a bunch of stuff with us and then she left. My interaction with their loan officer has been all right. The thing I’m having a problem with, and what really made me mad, is the appraiser guy. He called me up, we made an appointment, but I had a doctor’s appointment in Billings, so I had to change his appointment.

American Advisors Group did a good job. The process took a couple of weeks and the person I talked to was excellent. She was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She said I was gonna get some money, but it wasn’t a whole lot. And there was too much paperwork and it was a long, drawn-out process. I looked into reverse mortgages because I thought I was gonna get a lot of equity out of my house, but it didn’t turn out that way, so I'm not gonna do it. It wasn’t for me. I might just get another loan.

AAG explained the pros and cons of doing a reverse mortgage, and I decided that it was time to move the equity out, so that I could have a little more peace of mind and freedom. Christopher helped walk me through it and answered all my questions. We're now about two weeks into the process, and I've been satisfied with it so far.

I was very disappointed about the reverse mortgage. You’re not getting your home’s worth. AAG is getting $100, 000 more than what I would get. I’m 70 years old, and so I’ve been in the South for 43 years, and that was very disappointing. Somebody has to explain to you about the way you manage money and stuff like that. And then, you would have to pay for somebody to come out and inspect the house, which is another $500 and then $3,400 at closing time. I bought three houses, and that is the mortgage.

Rebecca, my loan officer at AAG, was excellent with her information and she thoroughly answered every question that I had. I love that I have the freedom to ask any question, and no question is considered fruitless. She was also very courteous and has a great a sense of humor. She had been sick and she got back to me as soon as she got well, which impressed me. I used AAG because the service seemed to be set up quite well, and they did very well.

After going through classes, I now know more about reverse mortgages than I did before. When I talked to my attorneys and told them what I was gonna do, they went, "Oh!" and I got a little bit worried. They advised me against getting the reverse mortgage. Still, I trust the guy at AAG and I feel comfortable enough to proceed with it.

We talked to Michael at American Advisors Group and he was really good at explaining their reverse mortgage program. Going for a reverse mortgage with them sounded better for our position rather than paying a mortgage at 70 years old. So far, we've had a pretty good experience.

When you’re working, you tend to start bills and when you go out with retirement, the money that you get doesn’t match what I got to pay out, which made me decide on a reverse mortgage. He was very personable and it was like talking to a friend rather than a loan officer, which was a big difference. Every time I called him, he picked up. So, I had no problems with him at all. He addressed my concerns very well, and he was very knowledgeable and very good. AAG needs to keep that guy. The service has been very good so far.

We needed to pay off the mortgage and we were also gonna pay off our car. I did a little bit of research and felt like AAG was the most reputable company. We talked to a young man on the phone and then we have had a counseling thing with Horizon. He has been very helpful and we feel quite comfortable with him. He called and checked. We’re just getting started in the process but at this point, we're happy with the service.

AAG's service has been excellent. They sent us all the forms and information on the reverse mortgage overnight. Joe followed up on everything and he answered all our questions. We were supposed to have our notary public come over today to sign the papers but she got lost and didn’t come, and Joe followed up and called me back several times to let me know what was going on. He has been terrific throughout the whole process. It has been a very pleasant experience overall.

In the last three years or so, the wife and I have both been hit hard with medical bills, which pretty much wiped out the savings. Now, if anything critical shows up, we’re gonna be out of luck. So, we’re gonna get some money out of the house and use that for backup. I had a friend told me that AAG was really good, and I went with that. AAG has a great reputation and the person we talked to was a great. He really helped explained things to us. He also helped build our confidence. AAG was absolutely excellent with their service.

I had gone through AAG before and I was treated really well. And this time, I was treated even better. They were very straightforward, polite and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend the lady I talked to. I like her demeanor, and she answered questions and told me things that I really appreciated. I was very happy.

Mishli from American Advisors Group was very thorough, very pleasant and a customer service field expert. She answered any questions I had. So, I liked working with her, someone that would make sure I understand. The guidance I was provided with was excellent. If I had to recommend somebody to AAG, I would recommend they use Mishli.

We learned a lot from American Advisors Group (AAG) and the information we got was wonderful. But I can't believe the 20 sheets of paper I had to sign. Somehow, that should be cut down. At first, when I was told I gotta sign all that, I said to forget it. My daughter was sitting right there and said I better sign it so I did. It's not fun having to write your name 20 times at once in one morning. If possible the papers could be grouped into five each.

AAG has performed perfectly in delivering personalized service, understanding my goals and answering all of my questions. My contact is tremendous and very helpful. I'm most impressed by his down-to-earth style. I’m looking forward to continuing the process, and I’ve already recommended them.

After working with John ** for over a month sending more and more paperwork almost daily, they just disappeared. Did not even have the decency to call me and tell me I had not qualified or anything. Even e-mailed him and asked if this how they do business, etc. NO ANSWER. Very bad business practices.

You reach a certain age that you realize that you’re not gonna be able to work much longer. Right now, all I have is straight Social Security and I have Medicare to take care of my physical needs. I went with a reverse mortgage mainly to supplement my income, pay off a few debts, and consolidate everything else. It’s the first time I’ve ever worked with American Advisors Group. We’re at the stage now where we’re about to have the appraisal and AAG has delivered the service wonderfully. I have a loan with my regular bank, and that’s one of the things that they are gonna pay off. I didn’t expect as many forms as I got when the someone came by to do the notary work. But everything else is just what I expected. It was impressive how personable their loan officer was. He was nowhere near me, but he was friendly and he seemed to care about my situation.

The reason I came here was for the horrors my in-laws are going through with their reverse mortgage company. AAG has been great to work with. I became aware that we could purchase a house with a reverse mortgage, about four and a half years ago when contemplating retirement. We had some money in 401Ks that would never have provided enough income to cover a mortgage payment, but, if withdrawn properly, and even paying taxes on it, would provide us enough to buy a house that would suit our needs forever. We w/d just what we needed to make the purchase in October, w/d what we needed to pay estimated taxes in January. That way we didn’t have to pay max taxes on what we had to w/d for taxes.

American Advisors Group was the only company I’ve heard an advertisement from for reverse mortgages. Joyce, the rep, got all the paperwork and called the right people. She helped us get everything set up and when she said something, she meant it. I wish the process could’ve moved along a little faster and since I was dealing with people from all over, I prefer to deal with them face-to-face. Also, I don’t know how to use my email efficiently, so I chose not to do this on the computer. There was a lady who came and we signed all the papers sitting at our kitchen table. She made a second trip out because I didn’t date something. We’re not completely done yet and the appraiser was here this morning.

I'm not working and American Advisors sounded good to me. Tom is my rep and he is a great guy. We're in the process of doing the reverse mortgage. Everything is going good. With it, I'd have a little extra money to do a couple of little things I wanna do.

My wife is retiring within a year, but she got laid off for several years, and we lived on my 401k along with a bunch of stuff. I was already retired and couldn't get a job at my age, and nobody would hire me. So, we kinda burnt up all our savings trying to live. Then we still have a house payment, but if we could get rid of that and a couple other bills, she could retire. We could still live off of my pension and our social security, and not be too strapped for money. And a reverse mortgage would take care of our house payment for the next 10 years.

I felt like they were the one, that they wouldn’t lie to me and they would work with me so I decided to apply through them. I love working with their loan officer. She was very warm and friendly. As far as the process, I know I’ve told her to keep my file open because I was in the middle of getting a divorce. And she said, “I’ll wait. I’ll check with you about every three to four weeks,” which she did. Next Friday, my divorce will be final and I have a conference call with the people in charge. The loan officer told me to tell the people in charge of my divorce to fax the document over, whatever it is she needs, so she can get it into the computer system that afternoon and we can get started. I told her, “That’s fine. I’m going to Tennessee for a week and then I’ll be back.”

Six months ago, we had to use about half of our savings to replace our sewer system in our house and it took, like, $15,000 off the top. It's basically four years to pay in our insurance and taxes, that we needed to make up. I then filled out some paperwork on my computer to get a reverse mortgage and AAG called me. It was good speaking to their rep and she was really helpful about it. She sent us some stuff by email to get a loan officer here to go over all the paperwork with us, and we did all of that. She was very patient while we found all the paperwork and the figures she needed for our house insurance and what the houses in the area are selling for. We've already got the appointment set up for next week.

I’m getting Social Security but could stand a little more income. I looked into getting a reverse mortgage, and there's not a lot of them out there that are doing it. The lady there at American Advisors, Kim, went over things pretty well and she seemed honest enough. She has also been helpful in any way that I asked.

I’m very pleased with American Advisors. They are very professional. Vincent, the rep, was very nice, and patient. He explained things too.

I had done a reverse mortgage for my mother a long time ago. Then when Tom Selleck started talking about it, I convinced my wife that it was the best thing to do. We went with a traditional one with AAG, and I knew my rep from a business club and we had a trust among each other, so it wasn’t that hard explaining everything and understanding it. They did a really good job of telling us about everything but they’re extremely slow. After you have to pay for a sum upfront, they’re slow in getting it done. Everything that John did was fine, it’s just that it took forever to get the appraiser to call. After a week of having finished the application, the guy finally called us today. So, except for them being late, things have been very good. It was very thorough, maybe sometimes too thorough, but it’s pretty good.

I heard about American Advisors Group from the commercial on television and I looked into getting a reverse mortgage with them to pay off some bills and purchase a refrigerator. They explained that the reverse mortgage is tax-free and that I would pay it back when I leave the home or should I pass away, my family has a year to purchase the property back. The rep was friendly and ready to give information if I needed it. If he couldn't, he knew how to get the information I needed. Plus, he made me feel very comfortable. As far as reaching my goals, I could see it happening. Their customer service has been going well and they make sure everything is explained to me.

I looked into a reverse mortgage because it was either getting one or selling everything out and live in with the kids. I learned about American Advisors Group from a friend, and they have been great. I got a traditional reverse mortgage wherein I'm still in the middle of it, and I've been working with Mario. He has been very informative and he returned calls. I told him what I really needed, and he gave me the best options. He has been really sweet.

Our mom has dementia, and with her needing to get some care at home and getting her house fixed, we decided on doing a reverse mortgage. We figured that she has got the equity in her house, so we might as well spend it on her. We looked at a lot of companies and we were sold with American Advisors Group because of Rodman. He has been very good about getting back to us, answering questions and sorting out the details. If it wasn’t for him, we would have avoided a really big company. There were also other companies with lower quotes, but Rodman has been very helpful and excellent.

AAG advertises that you can get a reverse mortgage in 30 days. Let me be clear right here, it’s more like 90+ days. The first couple of calls you make seem to go quickly and very smooth. Making sure that “old” people understand what they are getting into, by charging you to take a test to show you understand. Then the brakes go on, anything that AAG can do to slow down the process is going to happen. They will call you and ask for “one more piece of information” every week for as long as they can.

It took a very long time to process the loan and many times it looked like I wouldn't get it. But the manager, Chris **, took over the loan. That's when things moved fast and thank God I was approved. Everyone worked very hard to get my loan and I am eternally Grateful!!

Joshua ** was top-notch with his handling of this HECM reverse mortgage. The individual Josh brought in to assist him, Pedro **, was also very knowledgeable and professional. The only complaint I have is regarding the appraisal service that was used. They were slow, unresponsive, and generally unprofessional.

I have been in contact several times about an appraisal rebate offer I was sent in the mail. I was told before closing that it would be mailed, but have been ignored three times. I am very dissatisfied at this point because the letter was mailed to me prior to my closing. I feel like this is mail fraud and will seek legal counsel if I do not receive my refund within the next 30 days.

The closing process was a nightmare. We were told that if I and a witness could be there at closing we could witness mom signing documents with an X as mom has arthritis. We drove 3 hours to be there and did so a few days later we were told we didn't do the signing correctly and AAG wanted us to drive to mom's and do application again. A few days later AAG told us that application would be accepted as is. On closing day we were informed that application had to be done again. So we did so a few days later we were told that some of the documents were not sent to the closing notary agent and need to be signed and witnessed. Whole process was unprofessionally done and extremely disorganized. I would never recommend this process to anyone. A bank mortgage is simpler and much easier.

Zach ** was extremely helpful in guiding me through this process. He explained things in detail and answered all of my questions thoroughly and simply enough for me to understand them. He helped me through the process of obtaining counseling and appraisals. I would highly recommend Zach.

We have just started with this company, approximately one (1) month. We need to have more experience with the business to form our own personal review. What part of more-time do you not understand? We previously requested additional time before providing a detailed review. Considering all the red-tape mandated by the government; the process was fairly seamless. Who is responsible (financially) for a second appraisal should be made clearer. The fact that the money comes from proceeds doesn't change the source.

I was required to pay a stranger 130.00 USD for her so-called counsel... I spoke with her once and she had no relevant info. I never heard from her again... not a single phone call. I can only assume that this is some form of made-up job for special people to have income and no real meaningful application. This is bogus and I want my money back.

I reviewed two offers on this product from All Reverse and AAG. After discussion, AAG made verbal and written commitments on the following: NO MONTHLY SERVICE FEE. No requirement to draw 50% at closing. Only need to draw the amount needed to pay off original mortgage. Remainder available as a Line of Credit. Free appraisal as a promotion. Close promised in 6 weeks.

I was misled in most of the process. I have many ill feelings about my experience. Was a former High School and college instructor and know when someone has deliberately misled me. This is how I really feel and would be happy to go into it further if asked. Sorry I had to write this!

The total experience was a little bit beyond my expectation. It was a long process but my agent helped a lot with answers and timely suggestions. I am very pleased with all the aspects of this process. Learned a lot and would willingly pass my knowledge and experience to others.

For the most part AAG was very helpful but the entire process took way too long putting me further behind. They were not keeping me informed on what was needed to proceed. The loan was exactly as they explained to me and I am satisfied with the results.

I rate your service good however, I was a little disappointed with the length of time it took to close my application. I am pleased with my agreement and it was a pleasure to deal with Mr. **, he is a valued employee.

During the initial contact support was ok, but as we got closer to closing our agent was incommunicado. We had to leave messages or track down his supervisor to get needed information. Before we can comment further please give us time to see how we are treated as we deal with AAG in the future.

During the entire process Quintrell was always available, always pleasant, knowledgeable, and anticipated many of my questions. She was clear, patient and kind. Quintrell made the difference for us to consider the process and are very pleased that we did complete with Quintrell's help.

First the good news. Even though our AAG Sales Consultant resigned from the company in the middle of the process, two management people took over our account and the transaction went smoothly. Now the Bad News: AAG sent us an Appraiser who was incompetent. His measurement of our home was 120 square feet smaller than our County Appraiser, and 185 square feet smaller than the builder's plans as built. We have an original copy of the plans as drawn and built. When we protested the measurement, AAG personnel discounted the County measurement and refused to accept a copy of the plan. They behaved in an arrogant manner and believed the appraiser with only two years experience who spent less than 20 minutes at our home. His inaccurate appraisal reduced our available loan amount which is considerably less than if the actual measurements of our home had been used.

Even though it was a struggle for all of us we made it. AAG was very helpful. Their people were so helpful, patient and most of all stayed on top of everything. Every time I had a question, they were able to answer it. My situation was different because of health and a very bad divorce. AAG stood by me all the way for getting me approved. I could not have had done this without them. Some people, like me, didn't know you could do a Reverse Mortgage when your home is paid for but you can. They have all kinds of programs out there to help you. I did a thorough check of companies before I applied with AAG. Check them out. You will be happy you did.

Several months ago I called seven recommended companies for an online quote for a Reverse Mortgage. We finally picked AAG of Irvine, California because the agent Kyle ** was the agent we felt most comfortable with. Not only did he give us a great proposal... he also was very timely with communication and answered all of our questions.

I found the whole process easy and quick. Harvey ** guided me through the whole thing. I can pay for the things that need to be done on my house now and enjoy my home. I paid credit cards off, which wasn't much, but all of a home equity loan that was high. That saves me hundreds every month. I can actually save now. Lots of pressure is off me now. Thanks.

AAG is terrible company. Don't apply for reverse mortgage. You will lose your house in time. Terrible insurance fees. And interest rates and then when you refinance they tell you pay more with short falls only to keep all your money you sent them. I sent them 900 bucks for recording fees. That were only around $245.00 and AAG wants to keep the whole amount on me. I am looking at my options how to sue them and expose them to media. Also taking them to court to recover my difference. AAG employees. Told me they not refunding me what is mine. Once AAG gets your money you not getting it back. You will be mad as hell as I am. STAY AWAY FROM AAG. Unless you want to lose your house.

My wife and I, were shopping for information on HUD, Conversion Mortgage. We called AAG, for information about it. They told us, AAG officer will contact us in few days. Within 24 hours, we received a call from loan officer, Joshua **. Moreover, he asked few questions on our decision to shops for conversion mortgage. He explain the best options for our case, also at no time pressure was apply. He start explaining, the do’s and don’t on what to expect. We talked for an one and a half hours. He was very professional and very knowledgeable about the procedures. Mr Joshua worked with us through loan process. My wife and I were very pleased, with the final result. We highly recommend. If your need any information, about HUD, ask for loan officer, Joshua **. Finally thank you, to you and your staff also AAG.

If I could have given AAG zero stars I would have!!!! We started the RM process for our mom (late stages of Alzheimer) back in September 2018. At the beginning everything seemed to be going smoothly, and our AAG advisors, David ** seemed to be competent. Then a series of mishaps and problems started to occur!!!! First, we completed the application and somehow someone forgot to arrange the home appraisal. A month went by and I called ** to remind him at we needed the appraisal. We had the appraisal and qualified our mom for the RM.

Dealing with Hope ** was very good experience. She represented your company professionally with interest in me and my situation. I would recommend her, and AAG, to anyone considering a reverse mortgage. She answered all my questions and concerns and was easy to reach when I needed her.

This company representative told me I would get close to $50,000 as a first installment. During the process of approving the loan I had to have so many inspections, which I didn't have the money for, they told me it would be held out of my first payment. Between those cost and 10 years of future insurance and taxes I only received $2,000. That was 2 years ago and I still don't qualify for another installment for several years. This company in my opinion is the biggest rip-off.

Maureen ** is very dedicated, warm and friendly. Always there when I called, picked up on first or second ring. We had some great chats. Michael ** in California did a great job getting me paperwork to sign and return. David, the agent that came twice for signatures, also is a great guy. As massive as the process was, it went very smoothly, thanks to Maureen.

My overall experience with AAG was very positive. I was kept up to date on the progress of my request and the appointments were on kept on time. The negatives were related to the process itself. The amount of paperwork involved is overwhelming which is to be expected from a Government established program.

So I called the Reverse Mortgage Servicing Dept. at 866-654-0020. Went thru many directions, never got anywhere. Called 3 times and on the 3rd time, last # to press, got a person. Asked the questions I needed answered and was told I had reached the incorrect dept! They offered to transfer me to the right dept. and told me not to press any #s so I didn't. However the transfer put me right back to the beginning and finally my call was dropped. So, guess I will have to bother my very good loan processor with my questions. Anthony was wonderful by the way.

I had a very pleasant experience with AAG. Everyone I dealt with very courteous and informative. My process went very smoothly and didn't take as long as I thought it would. Now I can relax and enjoy my retirement with no worries about being a burden on my children. Thank you AAG.

I own 2 pieces of property, side by side. I gave the account number from my tax statement to several people. The Lien was placed on my House, which is on LOT#2, but the lien on the land was put on LOT#1... I have since notified several people, including the company that prepared the land lien and as of this date, nothing has been corrected. THIS IS A PROBLEM: AAG has a lien on a house that sits on property it has no right to. I need help, PLEASE!!!

Have to say it was at the top of my list of total satisfaction. I am 73 and been through my share of stuff and talking with Yolanda ** was exceptional. When I would get a little tense while going through the process she would say "Calm down. It will be fine". She guided me through every step and trust me I am sometimes hard to deal with. We started our loan process the first of December 2018 and received our proceeds on May 10, 2019. The initial application moved pretty fast, but then for a couple of months I felt like we had fallen off the earth. Perhaps because of the holidays, it was hard/too impossible to reach anyone to get answers to questions. Got a lot of voicemail recordings and no return calls. Finally established e-mail contact with Tamara ** and she was very nice and helpful, promptly responding to e-mails.

My loan officer was Kevin **. His manager promised to apply a $500 rebate for appraisal fee that I received in the mail before my closing. I am still waiting. Otherwise, the rating would have been 5 star.

Took 7 months to complete, one issue after another, lack of communication between offices and personnel. Even when we closed, closer had to come three times. Money from first draw was not wired to my account, a check was mailed and left on the doorstep while inward out of town. Too many unnecessary problems.

Claire was our contact person at AAG. She was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the reverse mortgage. She was regularly in touch and kept us informed as the process moved along. Everything went smoothly and as she said it would. It was a pleasure working with her.

Had good experience with Communication in regards to follow up. Underwriting policy and oversight lacks experience with handling obstacles which requires lots of intervention. Management seems to be disconnected with what’s needed to help client rather than meeting their own guidelines and not understanding governmental policy and process.

My first contact, Anthony **, was very helpful and guided me thru the process. Now I have more questions but I guess I have to call the Calif. office. I kind of felt I got dropped like a hot potato after everything was completed and finished. However, I was satisfied w/ the help from the NY office.

Every facet of my Reverse Mortgage Loan was handled with respect and professionalism. It was made simple and they made sure each step was understood. All questions were answered truthfully and they make you feel comfortable with the decisions. They want you to be sure you understand each step.

We actually have a reverse mortgage purchased that we took out with AAG about five years ago. At that point it was the best thing I ever did and were thrilled we won the reverse mortgage route. We are now selling our home and moving to another state and I called AAG for a new quote on a reverse mortgage purchase for the new home. Well I called once and did talk to someone. He never called back. I have called four more times and asked to get a quote and each time I was transferred to a loan officer and had to leave a message and never got a callback. One of those times I actually called the supervisor of that department. Never got a callback from him.

My overall experience with the service provided by Joyce **, my reverse mortgage agent was excellent in every way. She provided me with a comprehensive and detailed explanation of all the aspects of the reverse mortgage program, answered all my questions and always returned phone calls in a timely manner. She stayed in touch regularly on the progress of my application and how things were proceeding, always courteous and helpful. I am extremely pleased how everything worked out and am grateful and appreciative to the American Advisors Group and to Joyce for her efforts to help me obtain an excellent outcome with my reverse mortgage.

I paid 625.00 dollars for appraisal for my home, I was told I would receive a copy. I have requested several times and I have not received it. I am not satisfied at all. I want my copy of my appraisal. AAG requested a second appraisal that they paid for and they send me that copy. I want the copy of the one I paid for.

The overall experience working with AAG was satisfactory for the intended purpose of accessing the equity in my home. They were open to questions and had good backup support. Counseling was appropriate. An additional charge for a second assessment was explained at the time as not being charged to me, but later was charged. That was disappointing, but too far into the process to stop.

We were very pleased to work with David ** our advisor. He work very hard to be sure we understood our process going thru program and I assure there were times when I wasn't sure what we were getting into. But, David help straighten us out and kept us going forward.

AAG was great in helping me refinance my reverse mortgage. It was complicated and I'd never have succeeded. They answered all my questions and helped me get through the process. I highly recommend them.

The entire process started well, then there were problems. Documents had to be gathered by me. Why am I paying these fees if I seem to be doing the leg work? I had a line of credit with my bank with a balance of zero (0). After the process was completed I found out that my equity line of credit was closed. I was told this would not happen. I now have to reapply for this line of credit again. This is unacceptable as far as I am concerned.

I was very impressed with Michael ** and Carnetta ** and the lengths they were willing to go to in order for me to qualify for the loan! They made the loan process less odious than it could have been! I would highly recommend not only AAG but also their loan officers!!!

I took a little too long but at the end the person who got the reverse mortgage was not inform that she was going to be charge every month interest to be add to the loan for the life of the loan. I think it should be explain at signing by the person who is doing the closing in case the person did not understand in the beginning of the process.

I had a very excellent experience with American Advisors Group from beginning to end. They explained everything in great detail and followed up with me weekly or I could call at any time I had questions. It was a wonderful experience aand helped me a great deal.

I had a positive experience getting a reverse mortgage through AAG. The loan specialist and loan processor walked us through the process and the loan was completed within 5 weeks. Everyone I dealt with at AAG was professional and responsive to my inquiries. I would recommend AAG to others who need a reverse mortgage.

I was a commodity futures broker over some 10 years, and I had a basic understanding of reverse mortgages, but my life partner was an artist and needed to be sold on the idea. I'm 82 years old and she is 76. We have owned a few homes and I paid for the house mortgages. She trusted me! We have been together 44 years...now she gets it. The extra money is great. A Beneficiary Deed also ensures the house will be OK after we are gone.

It took almost a year to complete the process. But our AAG adviser was with us all the way. Even when we reached a point of frustration, he would call to console us. He explained every step and made sure we crossed every T and dotted every I. When our reverse mortgage, he called to let us know. We had a very good experience and are very happy with AAG.

I worked with William ** and found him to be VERY knowledgeable, always patient and willing to spend as long as necessary to answer my questions and explain things to me. He also has a wonderful sense of humor which made our conversations even more worthwhile.

My experience with AAG, specifically with Jeremy ** was beyond my expectations. The process was seamless and easy. Not a lot of work on our part, AAG did so much to help us with the process. It was quick and in my opinion they went beyond what was necessary to help us through this process without a lot of paperwork and headaches on our end. I was very pleased with the job done by AAG to complete my Reverse Mortgage. By going through the mortgage process AAG discovered a lien against my home that was filed after purchase closure. AAG assisted me in getting the lien removed and clearing my deed. My representative was always helpful and friendly. The mortgage process was fast and well represented by AAG. I’m very satisfied! I would recommend the Reverse Mortgage to everyone 62 or older.

My parents obtained a reverse mortgage from AAG in January of this year. Both my parents are in their eighties and are not what you would call experts in the financial markets. I however have a degree in finance and many years of experience in finance. My parents were able to obtain their reverse mortgage with AAG with little if any help from me. AAG representatives were patient, helpful, informative and most importantly to me, they were honest. The process was easy as AAG REPRESENTATIVES assisted every step of the way. The best part though is seeing the relief on my parents face now that their future financial stability is assured. They are truly happier and as their son, I want to thank you personally for that. The limit on money to be allocated is very low compared to the price of the house. Also there is no allocation of additional funds. If needed the price of the house should be considered in allocation of additional funds. You should give a copy of the agreement to customer before asking him to sign almost hundred pages. Very poor treatment of customer overall. I would rate AAG very low from customer's viewpoint.

The loan staff were amazing. Multiple appraisals and taking the lowest is devastating since it was almost $20k less than what I paid for the house that was less than 6 months old. Unclear if it was AAG or the underwriters.

From the start, I felt like I made the right choice by calling AAG. They explained everything clearly and no question was too small to ask. From the beginning, working with AAG was a smooth process and doing what needed to be done. I am so glad I called AAG to handle my reverse mortgage and I would recommend them to anyone.

I used AAG for my refi since they were the current mortgage holder. The process was laborious and the stream of lost documents and the need to re-sign documents already submitted was very trying on my patience. I found an $8100 "error" in their favor that would have gone unnoticed had I not carefully reviewed the closing costs. As soon as the mortgage funded the communication stopped, leaving me to make a series of phone calls to find out the status. In my opinion there is no co-operation among the various departments and no-one seems to talk to anyone else. In all, a frustrating experience.

Everybody that I dealt with were very helpful and answered all my questions; I not good with names but there was a women I think her name is Alexandra out in California, she was the best. The gentleman I spoke with in New York was also very good. Thanks for all your help

My experience with AAG was very good. The person I dealt with throughout it all was very knowledgeable and answered every question I had. Even after all was said and done, If I have any questions I can still call and she will answer them. I give AAG a 5 Star for they are always helpful in everything concerning any transaction. I would recommend anyone to use AAG for their reverse mortgage.

I was very pleased with the prompt service and the continuing support from the person that I was dealing with. He was very responsive to my needs and questions. And, I am very satisfied so far. My only complaint is that since I received my reverse mortgage, I have been bombarded with junk mail and phone calls about Mortgage Insurance and such. I'm not sure where or how they got that information, but it is a pain in the butt.

Patience! Our AAG Representative, Mike ** took the time to discuss with us our questions and also the time "in between" discussions to wait for us while we digested information. To date, so far, we are still comfortable with our decisions.

My Agent, Craig ** was wonderful to work with. He kept us in touch with every step it took to conduct the mortgage. He also had his Mgr. Jim ** take care of us when he wasn't available. I felt very comfortable having my loan in their hands. It was a wise decision to go with AAG.

The staff were friendly and very thorough. Although my case hit a few snags, it went to completion in about the time I expected. It took a little more work on my part than I imagined, but that's on me.

I had a unique situation in my Reverse and it took a lot longer than a normal application. AAG was there for me all the way. My originator Howard ** was very helpful and supportive throughout the whole process. I highly recommend AAG.

My AAG was a horror story from the outset. Their requirement for acceptance was to get early social security retirement benefits to prove I could afford property tax and insurance. Meanwhile by the time I did that I didn't need them anymore. I decided to go through with it on the basis it would provide some assurance if emergency funds might be needed in the future. Their closing fees were astronomical and it took me another week to seek out a title company at half the cost they cited, then weed out all the extraneous added fees attempted to fatten the costs. My closing costs immediately generated interest expenses...yuck.

I felt everything was laid out so that I could understand each and every step. At times even now I do wonder if I should have done the reverse mortgage and yet I think it has made my life easier. The procedure was streamlined and Brett was so easy to work with.

Very easy program to work with and very knowledgeable people who provided assistance and answered all our questions as the process moved along. This is a great program and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of retiring while still having a mortgage with a monthly payment which is hard for them to meet some months.

My experience began on a very high note. My experience began with David **. David truly is a very professional, honest, sincere, intelligent and caring young man who puts the client first. No question goes unanswered, and no concern goes unresolved. My job with Johnson and Johnson years ago was in sales and sale management - molding and training people to become leaders in the future. David would have fit right in. After my paperwork was completed and we were six months down the road - David called me just to make sure I was happy with our dealings and to find out if I needed anything. David is a very good man. Experience has mostly been good. We had one embarrassing issue. This was a telephone call from AAG, which we did not pick up. We had company this particular day and when the phone call came in, the voice recording advised it was AAG and wanted to discuss our reverse mortgage and actually gave out the balance of our mortgage so that our guests could also hear all of our personal information. Could not believe it. I was and am still upset this happened. I would certainly believe this was/is not a positive way to conduct business.

The satisfaction I have with American Advisors Group is the help they gave me in not having to pay house payments again. I am sorry to say my roof stills needs repairs as all that was done was patchwork, my garage doors are falling apart due to age to weather damage. Thank you for the help even though I didn't have enough for repairs to my home.

Best thing I ever did was setting it up as a line of credit. This allowed me to only take what I needed when I needed. The house needed some work like new roof, painting inside and out, new bathroom and two new hot water heaters. Over a six month period as work was completed I withdrew money to pay for the work. Requesting money was very simple and usually only took 5 to 10 days. I would not have been able to do this without the Reverse Mortgage and as long as you overspend on things you do not need it can work out very good. This has been going on for about 3 years now and I still have money I can withdraw but at the present time I have no need for it. I thank you very much for your help.

Excellent service, clear and informative explanations, with good follow-through. I have not yet accessed the funds as I am drawing down my cash reserves first, but knowing the funds are available has given me great peace of mind.

AAG helped my wife and I thru the reverse mortgage process with care and patience. After receiving new mortgage, we have been able to enjoy a much less stress free life, without worrying how we would be able to pay all the monthly bills and have money left for food.

My experience with the American Advisors Group was excellent from start to finish. It moved along smoothly and efficiently. Michael was also first class in explaining everything to me and how the process would work. 2017 had roof damage claim. AAG was co-signer on insurance checks. Group within AAG was very difficult to contact, had no system for leaving message, no mechanism for e-mail communication and were unclear in their verbal communication when reached. Also, did not come through with what they said they would do.

My advisor was extremely helpful and made sure that everything went exactly as he described/promised. I give him--Ron ** 5 stars !!! As for the company they were very good with a couple of minor hiccups so I give the company 4 stars BUT they got my loan done pretty smoothly. Mr. ** knows his stuff, works his butt off, and goes the extra mile for his clients. Kudos. I hope the company values him as much as I do. Give him a huge raise and as many clients as he can handle--he is that good!!

This product was the perfect solution for my situation. I am a career financial professional and have had a very long history of real estate ownership. I was fortunate enough to have substantial equity in my homestead and the ability to qualify for this program. While the thought of accumulating additional debt monthly is not attractive to me, the offset of the positive cash flow and the appreciation of the property has made this a very good experience. Not for the faint of heart but handled professionally by AAG. Thank you.

My experience with AIG was excellent. Tim ** handled my loan and was very committed to my understanding all the information I needed. He was never pushy or aggressive neither rude or irritated when I slowed my process for a time. He helped with all the little logistic difficulties along the way. We are pleased with our mortgage.

It’s been a completely safe experience. The plan was explained and all our questions were answered in an easy to understand way. I’m so glad we did this, it allows us to live in comfortable surroundings but not be a constant worry. My husband has been able to relax and enjoy his retirement.

First of all, I'm not good at writing reviews, but I'll give it a try. When we first applied, the folks that interviewed us were very polite and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions and even though we were pretty apprehensive over doing something like this we felt pretty good after the meeting. We also got the loan amount we asked for. I left my loan in an account with AAG and whenever I needed some money it was sent to my bank account within a couple of days. As far as I'm concerned, they are great and if anyone is looking for a reverse mortgage, AAG is the company to go to.

My Aunt had a reverse mortgage. Best thing she ever did. She didn't want to leave her home but had used all her savings. Her SSI and pension just wasn't enough to cover her day to day living not to mention she needed a daily home health care attendant.that was an out of pocket cost to her. When she passed I had ample time to decide whether I should sell to payback or payback the loan myself to keep the house and renovate. No pressure. Again I'd like to say best decision ever. Would do it again and recommend others to do so.

From start to finish the people we dealt with were great. The only complaint we have is that they do not have a website where you can access your account, change profile information, request a distribution or elect paperless statements.
