My husband and I had our eyes examined on June 23, 2009--my husband for lined trifocals to cover reading, distance and computer use and myself for progressive bifocals for reading and distance. The optometrist told my husband that his vision had improved (he is 58 years old). When we received our glasses about a week later, I was unable to see clearly out of the left lens alone (together, my vision was okay because my other eye would compensate).
A different associate remeasured me, checked the glasses and told me that the progressive bifocal wasn't in the right place so they re-ordered the new lens for me. A week later, I returned for the new lens which was even worse. A different associate measured me again and ordered a new lens. A week later, I went back.
Lens number three was still not right so they had me see the optometrist again, who said that the lens was too strong--so now, we're at lens number four which still wasn't right. The manager offered me a gift coupon for the inconvenience because it was obvious for whatever reason, in my opinion, that they weren't going to get it right. I'm sure they were tired of dealing with someone who felt that you should be able to see clearly out of each lens, independent to the other eye.

On December 31, 2009, I went into the Walmart Optical store on Montague Ave in North Charleston at the Tanger Mallto and purchased my eye glasses. I gave the gentleman my prescription. He measure dmy eyes for the glasses and told me they would call me when it was ready. I did not get a call, so I went in the store and the glasses was there. I was then told that I will not be able to get my glasses because a registered optician needed to give it to me. I don't understand how he can do everything that needs to be done and can't give me my glasses. I would like to get back the money I paid for the glasses. I feel that I should have been told that he is not a registered optician and I would not have gotten my prescription filled. Could you please send me a refund of the money I paid for those glasses so I can go to a registered optician to get my glasses?

We've gone to the Vision Center since it opened for what we thought was good service. We really like and trust the optometrist there. In April of 09, I needed new glasses. We ordered them and after going through three pairs of the same frame due to breakage, I finally got a pair that seemed to work. I found, however, I did not enjoy watching TV, knitting or reading as I had, blaming it on my total knee surgery in January. During the MLB playoffs, I happened to close my right eye only to find I was completely unable to see in the left eye. The doctor in December at different place says with correction, I have 20/60! Many times I returned to Walmart and even went to the other store in town, I got no satisfaction. This last time, I was told, (and I'm not *** here) that I turn my lenses when I clean them and the axis is off!)
I smiled, agreed and left swearing never to return and to tell everyone what a rip off they are! I am an RN, and willing to put up a little bit of a fight, but yet knowledgeable enough to know you can't turn the lenses especially when they are oval! I went to a reputable ophthalmologist in town to confirm that I wasn't crazy and they said they never heard of such a thing. They were concerned that the correction I needed was due to illness, only to find out the prescription was all wrong. I waited too late to have our insurance company help us. So now I'm stuck! What are they handing to other people? What types of lies and such are they pulling, inferior products, and **? And then charging people on top of it? I am going to try and contact a regional manager, but I read here that it does no good.

I went in for my yearly eye exam at the Wal-Mart Vision Center. During the exam, the optometrist found the corneas in both eyes inflamed; couldn't get an accurate reading and wanted me not to wear my contacts for a week, in which I was to return for a recheck. Because I had an old pair of glasses with an old prescription and couldn't wear them for driving, I was given a fresh pair of contacts at a different strength than I had previously. I asked why not just give me my old prescription/old brand (because I could see with those), but I know nothing and now I could see nothing. I ended up using my old contacts until the different brand (trial) pair arrived. He thought that perhaps my eyes needed more oxygen and this explained the inflammation. I mentioned that I had been using more buffing compounds at work and asked if this could be the reason for the inflammation. He didn't think so. Week later, the optometrists still couldn't get an accurate prescription but the inflammation had lessened (during this time I had been wearing goggles at work instead of safety glasses). So again I was to return in a week, but this time I would be charged $20.00.
I received the trial pair of contacts and wore them until the next appointment. Week later, I returned and this time I was able to get a prescription for both contacts and glasses; but now he wants to give me my old contact lens brand, instead of the new brand that he insisted on, because my eyes needed more oxygen? I questioned him and apparently he believes me about the buffing compound!? I got my contacts ordered and with prescription in hand, I went to purchase the frames that I liked at my husband’s optometrists at Optical Fashions. I picked up my glasses only to be disappointed because I couldn't see. I could actually see better with my old pair of glasses than the new ones, plus the bifocal wasn't right. My husband suggested that I take both old and new glasses and have O.F. compare them… It was at this point, I decided that I was done with Wal-Mart Vision Center. I paid for an eye exam at Optical Fashions; had to have the lenses remade; and because I had opened the box of contact lenses, I knew Wal-Mart wouldn't take them back (because I had asked one other time when my prescription had changed).
The optometrist at O.F. said that I could wear the contacts; I just wouldn't have as good a distance vision. I have been able to see perfectly with the new prescription glasses and there is actually a difference between the upper portion of the lens and the bifocal. As for contacting Wal-Mart V.C. concerning the above (yeah right, my husband had problems with them) and after getting the runaround and excuses for weeks, I was told that his warranty period had expired. There was plenty of time left when he first complained. Optical Fashions was decent enough to replace my lenses by using the one replacement available for purchasing my glasses from them originally; but if anything happens to the lenses during the warranty period, it comes out of my pocket, not to mention that I am out $76.00 for an eye exam, and I am stuck with $99+ worth of incorrect prescription contact lenses plus the $170+ for lenses if something happens to the ones I now own.

Understanding and being advised Wal-Mart had the lowest prices on eyeglasses, I presented my glasses prescription. I spent over $600.00 about 6 months ago. To get a second pair of glasses, I took my prescription to another firm and was quoted $230.00 with identical frames and tinting, etc. I would like to return my glasses or have a comparison bid obtained and the prices adjusted.

My son had an eye surgery at Emory University in 1999, and was told that we could have annual eye exams locally after being released from Emory. We have had them at Walmart since then. He went for an exam because of some vision problems at Emory on 12/14/09 and his vision was a -5.25 and on 07/14/09, Walmart had fitted him with vision of -1.75. My child could not see but thought that was how his vision was supposed to look because we always had his eye exams annually.

I brought my mother-in-law to the Wal-Mart Vision center on Pinhook in Lafayette, LA. We were told the exam started at $50. That was fine. When we got ready to pay, we were told that the doctor charged an additional $20 because she didn't come back within a year. He also charged an additional $40, because she decided to keep her original frames because they were titanium. The lenses were $89.50, exam was $50, $40 for not using new frames, $20 for coming in past 365 days from last exam, and $32+ for taxes. I never heard of such a charge. I was told it was Dr. **'s decision to charge the extra fees and would not waive them.

I received prescription contact lenses and prescription glass. Then when he needed a new glass the following year, I went to a different business. They were shocked at what a huge difference in the prescription they gave me. No wonder I couldn't see well with my glasses or my contact lenses. It's a terrible Wal-Mart experience. Wal-Mart needs to get out of the optometrist business.

Mr. **, we need to get this situation resolved with the glasses that we purchased at the Vision Center. This has been going on for a year now. We are very tired of it and the way we were recently treated by the Vision Center in Chillicothe, OH. It is not our fault that Walmart hires no good places to make lenses for their glasses.
On 09/2008, we purchased 2 pair of glasses from the Vision Center in Jackson, OH and they cost us over $1,500.00 that is a lot of money. Shortly after we got the glasses, my husband noticed spots on his lenses - they look like they had glitters. We took them back to the Walmart in Jackson, OH and showed them the glasses. We were given all kinds of trouble from we sprayed something on them, etc.
After about a week, they finally agreed that the lenses had a defect in them from the factory. So, they reordered them, but when those lenses came in, they were the same way right from the start. They had to order them again. They finally got a pair that lasted for a few months. Since 09/2008, my husband's lenses were replaced at least six times. We moved to Chillicothe, OH and they have replaced the lenses.
On 10/23/09, we noticed that his lenses were doing the same thing again with the spots. We looked at my glasses and they have the same spots. We went to the Vision Center in Chillicothe, OH on 10/25/09 and the lady that was working there was less than helpful and very rude. She told us we would have to come back and talk to the manager on Monday but she wasn't doing anything with the lenses.
From past history, these glasses are defective where they were made, but she told us she was not going to help us and to leave. My husband went to the Vision Center on 10/26/09 at 5:00 pm to talk to the manager. Of course, she wasn't there. He talked to **. She was very rude and told him to leave the Vision Center and not come back. The regional manager said they were not replacing the lenses again - that it was our fault the lenses were bad and if we wanted new lenses, we could pay for them.
I asked for the regional manager but she refused to give me the name so I could talk to him/her myself. ** at Chillicothe, Ohio Vision Center told us not to come back again. They were not going to replace the lenses and if we came back, she would call security. These are defective lenses and they need to be replaced. If you don't want to replace them, refund us our full amount. We will go somewhere else and get a good pair of glasses. We shouldn't have to look at spots and shouldn't be talked to like that. ** also told me that I could contact corporate if I wanted but they were not going to do anything about it either because she could do what they wanted.

I went to have my daughters examined for eyeglasses and I was told that Walmart's Vision Center did not accept my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance but that the doctor did. The advertised price is $39.95 for exams, but I was charged $18.00 per child, and that the balance would be charged to the insurance company. I now have a statement saying the doctor charged an additional $109.00 per child to the insurance company. I only have coverage for $175.00 per child per year, and the glasses cost an additional $124.00 per pair. How can he charge so much more than is advertised? And how can the store charge an additional fee?

I just picked up my glasses from Walmart Vision Center. They are going back tomorrow. Where to begin? First off, I have a very strong prescription and always in the past have been told to get a smaller frame and to get the higher quality lenses. I did. Top of the line. My prescription barely changed in one eye, but my lenses are thicker than my old glasses by 1/5 of an inch. Yes, folks, an inch! The edges are unfinished, so they have that frosted look to them. I asked if they could send them back and have them corrected. They said they had never heard of such a thing. I showed them the glasses that I had on (which are what I want) and the guy still made the comment, "Well, you do have a strong lens." Yeah? Well, the prescription hasn't changed that much that I now need coke bottle lenses.
Also, I got the transition lenses. It's a bright clear sunny day today, and these glasses didn't get nearly dark enough to feel comfortable in the sun. I still had to squint and had a headache by the time I got home. Also, what is it with Walmart pushing the contacts? I don't want contacts. I have terrible allergies and don't want them. When you tell them that, they act like you must be some kind of freak of nature.
I would just like to mention that I bought my son a pair of glasses last year and the frames that they helped pick out, have flowers on the ear piece. My eight-year old is livid, but since he didn't tell me about it until after the 60 days, I guess he's stuck with them. Well, we will see how it goes and if I get my refund when I take mine back tomorrow.

I made an appointment with Dr. Elven, the 3rd to check my vision and ordered contacts for me on September 12, 2009. He gave me an eyeglass prescription and proceeded to fit me with a pair of suitable contact lens. He brought out a pair of contacts for me to place into my eyes and told me to go home and try them out for a few days. The contacts were apparently the wrong strength, and I could not read even large writing. Plus, I could not read the large highway signs while driving! I returned to Wal-Mart where his practice is located, behind the Vision Center. I was tried on another pair of contacts and sent home.
I ended up making 10 trips to the Vision Center optometrist, Dr. Elven, driving 360 miles, before I got a pair on contacts that I could see and read with them in place! Finally, I had the contacts that I needed and called Dr. Elven's office at Wal-Mart's. I informed the lady working in his office. I asked them to order the last pair that he had fitted me with. The lady behind the desk in his office informed me that the doctor was standing next to her at the time we were speaking and that she was giving him my chart, as we spoke. I was told from the very first pair of contacts tried on my eyes, they would call me when the contacts came in. The last week in October 2009, I called again (one of many calls to these people) to find out if my contacts had come in yet. I was told no, so I informed them that I needed another trial pair, because my eyes were exuding pus; and I had cleaned the ones I had as much as possible many times.
When I made another trip to Wal-Mart of Rockingham, NC, the lady behind the desk, Tammy, had another pair of contacts waiting on me. But they had been taken out of the original package and placed in a plastic contacts holder. This was the second time that this incident had happened, so I questioned her about handling the contacts and inquired as to why she opened them in the first place. She said she had to keep the foil they came out of and place it on her paperwork! I never once saw the name or strength of any contacts. I asked her not to open another package that would be used by me for my eyes. She gave me the wrong ones! I called back and told them that the lenses were incorrect and not the same as the last ones he had given me and to please have another pair waiting. I made another 36-mile round trip. Finally, I insisted that something was dreadfully wrong with everything and insisted on knowing when my contacts would arrive. I was then told that "I" had to order them!
Now, I was told 30 days earlier that they would call me when the contacts came in, even though I had to try several pairs before I finally got a pair I could see out of! I made another trip to see them and demand a prescription for the contacts I had requested/ordered much earlier in the month. The optometrist left a script with her for me, but aside from the strength and other basic information needed to order, he wrote the lens name down as Cooper EP by Cooper Vision. I cannot locate that lens with no more information than that! I have tried several lens dealers on the internet to no avail! In the meantime, I have suffered just straining to read and have had several migraine headaches as a result of this escapade. And I still have no contacts! I will never get my eyes examined by this man, regardless of where he is working, again.

I took my eyeglass prescription to Wal-Mart's Vision Center in Ware, MA and chose frames. I was told that with my prescription, the cost would be $294.00. I thought that was high and no less than the other eyewear chain stores. The clerk took my pupillary distance measurement. When I asked if I could have the measurement written on my prescription, I was told it was against Wal-Mart's policy to do so. I stated that since it was part of my prescription, it was my health information that I was entitled to. The clerk stated that if she gave me that information, she could lose her job, saying that if I were to purchase glasses from another vendor and get in an accident, Wal-Mart would be held liable.
I've never heard so much baloney in all my life. I ordered the glasses then shopped in the store, all the while thinking about my conversation with the eyeglass clerk. Finally, I returned to the Vision Center and canceled my order. I later found the glasses I liked online through Zenni Optical, where I ordered glasses and frames for under $80.00. I would discourage anyone from going to WM's Vision Center and/or believing the cock and bull pitches from their clerks.

I went to get new glasses and contacts. I told the doctor I had glaucoma and I didn't know if my eyes should be dilated or not. He proceeded to dilate and even overdosed my left eye, which I brought to his attention, but he said no problem. A few hours later, I ended up in the emergency room with very elevated eye pressure and in severe pain. I was put on a morphine IV among other things to stabilize my eye pressure and sent immediately to a specialist. My doctors have all said that this severe pain and eye pressure was definitely due to the dilation. Neither Walmart nor Dr. ** will accept any responsibility for the bill that I have incurred due to this. My doctors have told me that I could have gone blind due to this.

My son needed new glasses for his truck driving job. He got them in time to go on the road for six weeks. Evidently, they were made incorrectly and for six weeks, he suffered with them until I was able to order a set from his old vision place in Ohio from his old prescription. The glasses he received from Walmart Vision Center caused him horrific headaches, swelling eyes, and any use over an hour caused great discomfort. We took the glasses back and told them the problems. They said that perhaps they were ground and made incorrectly. For an additional amount, they could change the type of lens. We just asked for our money back. We will order his old prescription from Ohio again and never trust Walmart Vision Center again.

Two years ago, I bought a new pair of glasses worth over $300. In six months, they broke at the arm that meets at the lens. I took them back to the Vision Center at Walmart and they made me buy another pair of frames, which I didn't think I had to do, but I did anyway because I need my glasses. After six months, they broke again. I had to do the same thing all over again. Then, the glasses broke for the third time. I had to super glue them together so I can use them. I believe that this means that the glasses are faulty. I cannot afford to buy new frames every six months. Is it possible that Walmart can take my prescription and get me a new pair of glasses? I would appreciate whatever you can do for me.

I was told my exam was free and to come in, but after the exam, I was told to pay for it. I had no money with me and it didn't matter that I was told the day before on the phone that the exam was free. I asked specifically how much the exam was going to cost and the lady on the phone said that it's for free. The woman taking care of the bill acted irritated, never apologized and had an attitude throughout the checkout process. I was told without paying for the exam that I would not be prescribed the new lenses I needed for my correct fit.
Early in February 2/18/2009, I went in to get my contacts fitted. I was fitted with Acuview bi-monthly lenses. My eyes unfortunately made these unwearable just after two days of wear. Protein was being built up or my eye lids were tearing them as I blinked. I thought it was just a bad set of lenses so I ordered more through 1800contacts and the new sets were just as bad. Lenses that were supposed to last two weeks were only lasting two days before I could not wear them any longer. In August, I tried to order dailies and was denied by 1800contacts because the daily Acuview made it a whole new prescription.
I contacted Walmart Vision to just allow me to buy the daily Acuview but I got no reply even after leaving several messages. On September 29, I was finally contacted by Nicole to come in for a refitting. The doctor saw me and later, while sitting with the receptionist, I was told there was a charge of $59 for the eye exam. I explained to her it was supposed to be free, but she kept telling me I had to pay. I walked out of there without the right prescription or any contacts that I needed.

I received a letter from my insurance company (Aetna) which said it was time for my eye exam and new glasses. It showed The Vision Center in Wal-Mart as one of the places that accepted Aetna insurance. I called the number on the letter and got the part that actually sells the glasses, not the eye doctor. I asked the girl if they took Aetna insurance and she said yes. I asked her if they were a participating EyeMed provider. She said yes. I told her about the letter from Aetna and she asked what they said my coverage was with them. I told her per Aetna I was to get a 38% discount (on average) for prescription eyewear at participating EyeMed provider locations, plus a $100 allowance which was applied after my 38% discount. She said fine. I told her I needed to schedule an appointment and she transferred me to the eye doctor's office for the appointment.
Well, I went to my eye appointment today. I took my prescription out into The Vision Center and picked out a pair of frames. The young man (very nice) asked for my insurance card so that he could call Aetna and check my coverage. He came back and said that they did not accept Aetna. I told him I had called two days before and they did, so he went and got the manager. Now, she was a piece of work. She just didn't know who I could have talked to. Perhaps I called another store. (Gee I had the eye appointment at the right place). She said that she could give me a 20% discount that would actually save me as much as my insurance would have. Now think about that. I was supposed to already get a 38% discount (on average per my letter) and then another $100 after the discount. I told her to go ahead and figure up how much my glasses would cost then. And I told her I wanted glass lenses instead of plastic.
Oh, no! I didn't need glass lenses. I should use this other special kind of plastic lenses that were much better than glass. (I tried plastic one time, scratch too easily). I said fine, figure it up. She got her calculator out and said that my cost would be $175.00 which was actually $2.00 less than what my cost would be using my insurance. I told her I wanted to think about it and look at my letter again. I asked the nice gentleman to just give me the individual prices at which time she turned and stomped off. You'll love this. My frames were $99.00, the bifocal glass lenses were $100.00 and if I wanted transitions bifocals, they would be $200.00. So let me see... if I wanted just the plain glass, the total I would pay would be $199.00. He agreed that was correct.
So, in other words, if I figured in my head that I would get about a third off (just roughing out the 38%) the glasses, that would take off about say $65.00 or thereabouts. Then you take off my $100.00 and I would only be paying about $45.00. Let's see, which is less, $175.00 or $45.00? That's hard to figure out. Just how stupid do they think we are? I just wonder if they do not take Aetna, they were going to have me pay $175.00 and then just bill Aetna for what my coverage should be? I will not ever go back in there nor will I recommend them to anyone, and I am going to call Aetna and tell them what happened. I wonder if they are playing about the same scam that CVS was playing on the insurance companies several years ago.

I'd been a previous customer of Walmart Vision and hadn't had a problem until now. I called my local Walmart Vision in February 2009 to schedule an eye exam for myself and my son while I had vision insurance. I'd recently left my job and as of the end of February, I would no longer have vision insurance. They made my son's appointment and proceeded to tell me that I had just had an exam in September of 2008 and the insurance wouldn't cover me until September of 2009. I had thought my previous exam had been in February of 2008, but I didn't argue because I honestly wasn't sure. I had gotten married in October and there was so much craziness in September that it was entirely possible that I had had my exam then and didn't remember. Being as it was February 2009, I could understand how I may have gotten that mixed up.
Well, I had my son's appointment in which he got glasses that have, of course, already broken. The ones they gave us were nowhere near as sturdy as the display ones that we looked at and picked from. That was annoying enough, but now as I'm trying to get more contacts from 1-800-Contacts, I'm told by them that Walmart said my prescription had expired in February - the same month that I previously had tried to make an appointment. I called Walmart in case they mixed something up only to find out that it did indeed expire in February. Well, now I have no vision insurance and can't go get another exam as I cannot afford it since I will now have to replace my son's crappy glasses from there. Needless to say, I will take my business elsewhere from now on. That is just totally unacceptable. I will say at least that the woman that I talked to today about it was very nice and never once rude.

I have needed bifocal glasses for the past several years. I went to Wal-Mart Vision Center in Wetumpka, Alabama to have my eyes checked and purchase glasses. After the exam, I was told that I did not need bifocals. I reluctantly agreed, due to the fact that Wal-Mart Vision personnel are supposedly state board certified. After I received my glasses and attempted to wear them, it was apparent that the person who examined my eyes made a wrong diagnosis. I cannot see out of them at all and they are virtually useless when I'm reading or watching TV.

We have always bought our eye glasses from Walmart, but no more. Last February, I spent over $500.00 on a pair of glasses buying your White Stag frames. I thought since White Stag was your brand, everything would be fine. The ear piece came off in July and I took them back to see if they could fix them. The vision center informed me that the frames were only guaranteed for 60 days and they could not do anything at all for them. They also said the frames were now discontinued.
I was told when I bought them the frames were guaranteed for a year. So, I brought them home and glued the ear piece back on. A few weeks later the other ear piece came off, too, so that I had to glue them also. Now, they don't fit right and I cannot afford another pair, so I am stuck with them. I do not see well at all without them. The only time I ever took them off was when I went to bed and laid them on the table beside me so I could have them right away when I got up. I have taken very good care of my glasses as I know I cannot afford a new pair for a while since we are retired now.

This is an odd location, a web search (iseefine website) would show the doctor's personal band website under vision center at Wal-Mart in Aiken? Anyway, I took my son here for an exam in 2008. Blind in one eye, he needed a DMV form completed by an optician indicating the degree of disability. Gary (the doctor) was very personable and completed both the exam and DMV form. However, a year later, trying to renew my son's permits, he again needed another form completed by an optician. The original DMV form was not accepted as permanent due to its lacking the duration of disability of the blind eye. In this case, it's permanent and uncorrectable. So I called to see if a correction could be made, so the permit could be renewed. I was told they were busy and they would call back. They never called back.
A week later, my wife called again to inquire if they could fax over a corrected DMV form. She was told, "Excuse me, I have other persons here who need to be seen," and that they would call back. But they never did. I left work and drove an hour there, only to find out they were now closed due to new store hours. I kept my son home from school the next day and went in person. I was told the doctor was at lunch, but they would call back or fax the form over. Several hours later, I received a call indicating that the now original DMV form had expired and that they would now need to do another exam before completing a DMV form. It wasn't expired a week prior when they said they would call back. They have some real customer service issues, and I have chosen to walk across the street to Specs for my optical needs. The band thing is fine, but there should be more effort on customer service there versus promoting his band. Priorities?

On Thursday, August 20th, I visited the Walmart Vision Center in Elizabeth City, NC. I inquired about the cost of a pair of prescription sunglasses. I was quoted a price of $100.00. Less than a month before, a gentleman in the same store who is an employee quoted me a price of $80.00. The lady told me yesterday, on the 20th, that the price has been $100.00 for more than six months. I then told her what the gentleman had quoted me before in my previous visit and she replied that he must have made a mistake and gave me the wrong price. This particular store in question is in my opinion very confusing on their business practices. They can't seem to get their price right - definitely not good business. Thank you very much for your time and I hope to hear back from you soon.

Last week, I took my husband and three children to Walmart Vision for eye exams and new glasses. We had to go on two separate days because it is their policy not to make appointments for more than two family members per day. We spent a little over $900.00. We do not have any eye insurance, so this was out of our pockets. We were told that the glasses would arrive in about a week. Fine. The next week, I received a call saying that the glasses were in. So that afternoon, I gathered up the family and went to get them. The kids were excited. When we arrived at 3:30, we were told that the only person who can do optical work had just left for her a one hour lunch break. Since we had to be somewhere else by 4:30, we could not wait that long. I was annoyed that there was no one there who could help us.
The next day we went back, only to be told that there is never an optician there on Wednesday and we could not return the next day because there is no optician there on Thursdays either. I asked why this was so. Their explanation was that one woman was on maternity leave. Apparently, their hours are only on Tuesday, Fridays and Saturday mornings. Who on Earth runs a business this way? I am guessing that August is one of the big months for eyewear sales for the year. Why wouldn't they be open during hours convenient for the customers? After four trips to Walmart, I will have to go back again next week.
They were happy enough to take my money, but it is annoying to have to wait another week and make another trip. The salespeople were pleasant enough, but I will never again do business with a place with hours so inconvenient for working moms. They said we were told of these crazy hours in advance, but that was not the case. I could have gone elsewhere and gotten them all in one trip in "about an hour" for roughly the same price. It is much more convenient to do business that way. Next year, I will take my $900.00 to another eye center.

On February 21, 2009, I went to my local Walmart Vision Center and purchased a pair of frames ($98.00) and lenses ($84.00 each = $168.00). When my glasses were ready and I picked them up, I was never informed of any satisfaction guarantee policy. When I got home, I noticed that there were little chips in the edges of both lenses and one lens didn't even meet the frame, you could see some gaping. But I kept them and figured they'd be ok, since I was in need of them, I'd make do.
Now, last week, I noticed that the little chips have gotten much bigger and are very noticeable to others. So I called up the vision center to ask what could be done. I spoke with a gentleman named Brendan (I believe) and he informed me that as long as it was within a year of purchase, I could get new lenses or a refund. So I just went into the vision center. I wanted a refund as I was extremely dissatisfied and not happy with the poor quality and workmanship. Brendan immediately started helping me. He was inputting things into the computer. Finally, I asked if this was going to cost me, because I just wanted a refund anyways. He said there was no charge, but if I wanted a refund, then okay.
He sat down at the computer and began to do something and came to a point where he needed help from another gentleman there, and that was when I was informed I can't have a refund, because it's been longer than the "60-day Satisfaction Guarantee". So I told them to forget it then, I don't want another pair of cheaply made glasses. I just wanted my money back. I spent $266.00 and I was disappointed by them. The other gentleman then began to tell me that everyone knows the 60-day policy. I told him I wasn't aware, no one informed me of it, otherwise why would I wait? I said I understood but again, no one told me!
He then said, it was a very strict 60-day policy, but in his next breath, he told me if it was like a month over that 60 days, he could do something about it. So much for the "strict" 60-day policy, huh? I told them to forget it, I do not want new lenses for this to happen again. I am disgusted with the way I was treated. I am disgusted that on the phone I was told I can get a refund as long as it's within a year. I am disgusted that even in the store I was told I can get a refund, and then suddenly, “Oh no, you can't get a refund, too bad, you are out of luck!”

We have always purchased our contacts from Walmart. With this economy and the prices constantly going up, I went to order one box and was told by Gwen that this is no longer the policy. I had to get another associate, who stood up for me and was able to swing the single box purchase this one time. I do not appreciate being belittled by this woman (Gwen) and told that I cannot purchase what I can afford at this time. If one box is all I can afford, then so be it. At that time, she stated that if I was not able to afford contacts, I had no business buying them. Not a very good customer service.

I took a prescription for eyeglasses for my teenage daughter to the Walmart Vision Care Center. We have EyeMed insurance and the insurance said they would cover the cost of the glasses with a $5 co-pay. Graciela told me I had to pay more even after I called my insurance and was told by them that I did not have to pay more. My daughter needed the glasses, so I ended up paying more after arguing with Graciela and having my insurance speak with her also. I also bought an additional 2-year warranty as my daughter is hard on glasses.
I was specifically told by Graciela that the warranty would cover the lenses and frames if anything happened for two years. This warranty was purchased in August 2008. A month or so ago, I took my daughter's glasses which are scratched so badly she cannot read out of them and they were very loose into the Vision Center to get them replaced. The lady told me the warranty only covers "lenses and frames"; it does not cover scratches. She said they would only cover the lenses if they were broken.
I feel this is wrong because I specifically was told they would fix or replace her glasses if anything went wrong with them within the two year period. It has only been one year, and they are failing to honor her warranty. That is false advertising and they should be shut down. My daughter still needs glasses and I guess I'm going to have to run them over or break them with a hammer in order for Walmart Vision Center to honor the warranty they sold me. That is just plain wrong.
Now, my daughter who is 16, and ADHD cannot see out of her glasses and I cannot afford to buy her new ones. I have no recourse as Walmart will not honor the warranty they sold me. I paid more for the warranty just so that we would not be in this situation, and Walmart Vision Center misrepresented this warranty to me when they convinced me to buy it. I would not have purchased the warranty if I was just going to have to buy her new glasses anyway.

It has been over 2 weeks since I've received my glasses and I can't see out of them still. I get sick, get headaches and cannot adjust to the lens. This happened 2 years ago and I thought it was a fluke, but here again I see better out of my original glasses/prescription and after 2 weeks can't see out of my new glasses. In fact, the vision is worse with the new prescription. Either the doctor ordered the wrong prescription or the place that makes the glasses for Walmart did a horrible job. Either way, I can't see.

I purchased two pairs of glasses one year ago. I had to return to the store almost monthly for repairs. Also, I purchased the insurance for replacement of lenses, etc. After three months, the lenses started to scratch badly and had them replaced in 6/09. What should have taken one week turned into over one month and having to return them as they were incorrect. I returned to the store today as yesterday the frames broke. I was told by the supervisor of Vision Center, Elisa ** that she couldn't find my file but oh yeah, she remembered me. But when I started to complain about my glasses breaking, her memory of me was dimming. She said, "You didn't buy them here and we don't have the parts to fix them!"
With that, an older man came out from the back and told me that the store hadn't carried that brand of frames for at least four years. I then reminded him that he helped me pick them out! The both got very rude with me. I said, "Fine. Let me go speak with the manager of Wal-Mart." Mike was summoned to meet me at the Courtesy Desk and then he went over to talk to the Vision Center people. I was them summoned to meet him there where all of a sudden the older man told me, "Well, I can fix them" with a big attitude and nasty expression. And he was the one who said, "We don't carry those nor do we fix them!" Do not use Vision Center!

I was in a car accident in Fort Wayne, Indiana. And when I was in the car accident, I lost both of my contacts. I contacted my Vision Center in Daphne, Alabama. They had told me that it was possible to get just a trial pair as long as I had my prescription. And so I had called the closest Wal-Mart Vision Care in Port Huron, Michigan. They told me that it wouldn’t be a problem to get me a trial pair and got the number for the Daphne, AL Vision place that I go through. After they had made that contact with them (the Port Huron place), they had called me back and said that it wasn’t possible for them to give me just a trial pair of contacts when I do have an updated prescription to my contacts. And they also told me that in order for me to get them, I had to purchase something from them. And to me, that’s not a way for a business to run when I do spend money at any Wal-Mart and have always went through their vision care.
If in Alabama that had happened to me, I am sure that they would have given me just a trial pair of contacts. I never file complaints because I don’t like to. But after I was in a death defying car accident and almost lost my sister, they could have at least showed me some sort of compassion for what I had went through. That was my first vacation to Michigan in two years and had to go through a car accident to get there. I hope that this never happens to anyone again. All I ever wanted was just some contacts to make it back to see my sister who was in horrible condition in the hospital. Thanks for listening to my complaint and I hope that the next time I go on a vacation, I don’t have to deal with this problem once again.

I purchased glasses at the beginning of '09 along with a so called insurance policy. The sales person told me that the insurance policy would cover breakage of frames and lenses, along with scratches for one year. The first set of lenses was made incorrectly and needed replacement. When the replacement lenses came in, the incompetent technician screwed up the frames so badly the frames needed replacement also.
After a couple of months of these glasses sitting in the case provided by the Vision Center, the lenses are so badly scratched they need replacement again. I was informed that the lenses being scratched was my fault and were not covered by the insurance that I purchased. This so called technician then went to the back room and returned with a Protection Plan policy that was not out for all to see when making a purchase of glasses. The technician told me that the "Neverglare" coating was a lot softer and scratched much more easily. Tell me something I don't know idiot! I am finished with purchasing inferior products from Walmart and never will grace that establishment with my presence again. I will purchase new frames and lenses from a reputable source, if there is one.

I gave my insurance card to the person making the appointment who stated that the doctor accepted Coventry Insurance. On Saturday, June 13, my husband and I arrived on time to find out that they couldn't confirm our insurance. We rescheduled for the following Saturday and were told that they would confirm the insurance prior to our arrival.
After receiving a call confirming our appointment for Saturday, June 20, we arrived on time and waited, just to be told the doctor did not accept our insurance. What a waste of time, gas, expectancy, and a feeling of no value. The person checking our insurance acted as though they'd done nothing wrong. This complaint is for poor service.
If Wal-Mart and Kenneth **, O.D. care about customer service, he should be made aware of how his potential patients are treated prior to service (Or in our case, no service). A lesson in "empathy" would help them consider the customer by putting themselves in the other person's shoes. How would he feel to have wasted two Saturday mornings sitting in a vision center waiting to only find out they won't accept your insurance. They should have first confirmed and called us about the insurance, so we could have found a provider who would have accepted it. That's called integrity. My distrust towards Wal-Mart has heightened again, and I will no longer be a customer. I hope this complaint will allow you to intervene before someone else wastes their time waiting too.

Two years ago, I also went to Wal-Mart optical for glasses. After 5 months, the arm on the glasses broke off; and after going through the trial of, they were going to order me new parts, etc. They finally told me 3 weeks later that they no longer carried the frame and I would have to buy new frames. In addition, if they didn't have frames the same size as my lens, I would have to buy new lens also. Of course, the warranty was way over. The people that I have met in the optical stores at Wal-Mart are hardly ever pleasant unless you are buying something and sometimes not even then.
After all of this action, I was plain mad and sent a very accurate email to the Wal-Mart complaint site. Within a week, someone from the Wal-Mart I had gotten the glasses from called me and said I could come in and pick out a new frame and they would pay for the lens also. I don't know what the background was as to my getting a completely new pair of glasses, but the new glasses were much better than the old one and the frames were of much better quality. So from my experience, don't even complain to the store—complain to the main office.

I took my prescription to Walmart Vision Center intending on getting a less expensive pair of glasses than the last ones I purchased from my optometrist office. I selected a fairly cheap frame (under $80). With $50 for lenses that darken in sunlight, the total for my progressive lens glasses was over $350. That's $100 more than I paid at the optometrist last pair I bought. Within 2 months, the lenses were all scratched up. I'm not a careless child. I'm a partially disabled 55-year-old woman. The scratches were annoying, so I stopped at the Walmart Vision Center when I was at the Presque Isle store and asked the saleslady (same one that waited on me the day I ordered and picked up the glasses) if the scratched lenses could be repaired.
After asking me a number of personal questions to find me in her computer, she announced that my glasses were still under warranty. Then she picked the glasses up off the counter where she laid them, looked at them, looked at me and said the warranty won't cover this, these were scratches. It was like she had just made an amazing discovery. I knew they were scratches, that's what I told her. So I asked again, can they be repaired. She said no, not unless I wanted to buy new lenses. Since the lenses cost about $275, of course, I didn't want another pair of cheap lenses for a very expensive price. Buyer beware, their glasses are expensive, their service questionable, their quality poor. My next glasses will definitely be purchased from professionals that back their products and probably cost less than Walmart.

I went back to the same lady. She said she could not do anything about past the warranties. I stopped going to this store in anger but now the more I think about it, if you look at my previous glasses, it is quite apparent they are not cut properly.
Why have I waited so long to complain? I don't know, but I tell you this. I will never get or recommend this eye center to any one or any Walmart optical location again. I'm not mad at Walmart, just the Optical Department. It is a constant battle with these glasses daily and I'm receiving social security only. I cannot afford to replace them. I went in for a contact lens exam or fitting on 02/27/09. The whole purpose for this visit was to get prescription color contact lenses. By the end of my exam, Dr.** finally convinced me to get clear contacts instead of color lenses because they turned out to be a better buy. I ended up paying a total of $324.39. This included a contact lens exam and 2 boxes of clear contact lenses (I have astigmatism so it can get pretty pricey). I was advised that due to the fact that these were especially made lenses, it could take up from 7 to 10 business days to get these in.
After two weeks, I got a call from one of the associates to notify me that my lenses were in, for which I asked if it would be okay for my husband to pick them up since I had been getting off late from work and they were closed by the time I would get there. She replied there shouldn't be a problem with that. I ended up getting off early from work, so I decided to pick them up myself. By then it had already been a 3-4 days. When I got to the Vision Center, I was helped by the manager at this location. She doubted that somebody had called to notify me of my order arriving when they were still waiting on a trial pair that they needed to see on me before they released my lenses for which I had already paid for. By this time I asked about changing my order to color contacts, because that's what I wanted in the first place for which they were a lot more expensive. Dr. ** replied by saying that it would be an additional $30.00 fee because the eye exam was based on clear lenses and not color, uh-how could that be if I had told him since the beginning I wanted color lenses? Plus, when you are checking out and placing your order, they ask you again what you want to get. He was not making sense at all.
So I asked him, if I was obligated to purchase my lenses there in order to get my prescription? He answered no. But, he would not release my prescription until he'd seen me in a trial pair. The problem was there was no trial pair for the color ones, only the clear ones. “So if I was not obligated to buy them here, why couldn’t you give me my prescription for which I fully paid for?” His response was that he could not release my prescription until he saw me in my trials. There were no trials in the color lenses I needed, so wasn't that making me purchase one pair of color lenses ($400) so he could see me in them so he can release my prescription? So I was being obligated to purchase my lenses there! After a long and exhausting discussion, I told him I would try on the clear trials (the ones they were waiting on) because I desperately needed lenses right away. They said they'd call me when they'd get them in.
Almost two weeks passed by the time they called me notifying me of the trials arriving. I went in on Sunday April 5th. An associate, Jose **, (really polite) told me that Dr. ** needed to be there to see me in my trials and then have me come back in week for a follow-up. I was trying not to get upset. Why would he need to see me in them? I understood about the week follow up, but why would he have to be there to give me my trials? I left and came back during the week, Thursday to be exact. It turned out he's only there Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays! I finally gave up and I asked the associate that was there at the moment to give me my money back! She gave me a refund for the contact lenses but not my exam.
I paid for a service, in this case a contact lens exam, but I didn't get my prescription. All I got was a prescription for glasses! I never went in for glasses! In that case I could've walked in and paid for an eye exam which is $20.00 less than a contact lens exam. I am looking for a full refund for not receiving the services I paid for. It's been 7 weeks and I am with no lenses nor prescription to buy them elsewhere and $85.00 short and not to mention, the frustration I feel at this time. I have never gone through so much difficulty to get my prescription, but this will be the last time I ever go to a Walmart Vision Center ever! The people there are misleading customers and giving out the wrong information. I was told this Dr. has had several complaints already and he's only been there not so long. I can imagine a lot more coming.

I went to Walmart Vision Center to purchase new glasses on 3/27/09. Initially, I dealt with Fara. She was very disinterested. After providing me with my options and the costs involved, I made a quick call to get approval for purchase (a relative was buying the glasses for me since I am currently unemployed). She walked off while I was on the phone. She never came back, ever! I don't know if she clocked out, went to lunch... I never saw her again, even on subsequent visits. I asked for assistance from the other employee there (David). He was much more friendly and courteous. I placed my order - one pair of sunglasses using my own frames and one pair of computer glasses with purchased frames. I had asked for polarized lenses in the sunglasses with AR coat on the inside surface of the lens. I was told that was (I forget his exact words) ridiculous, redundant, a waste of money? At any rate, I've had that in my sunglasses for years - doctors' order.
The sunglasses were due April 2nd and the others April 7th. I got a call April 1st from Ora stating that there had been a problem with the sunglasses and I needed to bring my frames back in to be retraced. They only discovered a problem the day before I was supposed to have them? I made the trip back and I was told that "it happens" and that the new delivery date was April 7th - same as the other pair. At least that would save me a trip although they did say that reorders are usually rushed (great - rush and make more mistakes!). I got another call on April 5th from David. My computer glasses were in but there was "a problem with the prescription." What problem? The axis on the right lens was 10 degrees off (For those who aren't familiar with astigmatism, that would be worse than not wearing glasses at all)! It was another reorder, another rush.
I called late in the afternoon of the 7th to see if my sunglasses were in. Ora said they had just arrived. I went down to pick them up. I told them I wanted to save my old lenses (Good thing, I did). Ora put them in (David was around but somewhat busy). They didn't look right. The color was notably lighter than my prior ones (polarized grey) and they looked cloudy, for lack of a better description - sort of like cheap window tint that's about to bubble. I said something. Both of them pooh-poohed me. I put them on and tried to look around to make sure the Rx was okay, etc. Things looked sort of murky. I had my more recent pair (I was using frames from a prior Rx, keeping the more recent one as a backup) inside and went back and forth, trying to decide what was wrong. They told me everything was fine and that I needed to wear the new ones exclusively for at least a week - my eyes needed to adjust to the new Rx.
I'm sorry, but that's bunk. My Rx is not so drastic, nor is the change in Rx so vast that I can't see as soon as I put them on (If that were the case, how would a doctor be able to do the, "Better one, or two" bit?) I constantly go back and forth between my two most recent pairs of sunglasses with no problem. I always keep old glasses around - a pair in every room (My main problem is astigmatism and I hate wearing glasses - I use them mostly for driving, watching TV, and working at the computer - anything involving text). This is just a pat answer by those in the retail world who don't really know what they're doing and can't offer up a viable explanation for a problem (Did I mention I have a degree in physics and am familiar with optics?).
They noticed that both pairs of my old sunglasses had the AR coat on the inside of the lenses and that sparked a heated discussion. They both insisted that it was counterproductive. Polarization cuts out light and AR lets in more light, they said. So, they would cancel each other out. That made no sense. I told them the doctor was the one who told me to do it. I guess they thought the doctor knew less than them - we're talking an optometrist and an ophthalmologist! I finally gave up and left. I'd try the new glasses, but I didn't have high hopes. Sure enough, I got outside and immediately remembered why I wanted the AR coating - back glare. I could not see with the new glasses, and it had nothing to do with the Rx. I took them back the next day. Susie was the only one there. I had taken a print-out about the use of AR coat with sunglasses containing information about back glare.
David and Ora were not around to give it to. Susie could not have been more disinterested. I told her to cancel the order on my other glasses. She called the lab to make sure they hadn't been shipped yet. The reason she gave the lab for the cancellation was "no reason - the customer just wants to cancel". There were plenty of reasons - lack of professionalism, several errors already. I got my refund. I know Walmart isn't the first place people think of for glasses, but I have gotten several prescriptions over the years from Walmarts in other states and had no problems - quality glasses at a good price. I won't be going back. I don't know if it's a different lab or if things have just deteriorated over the last couple of years. The staff at this Walmart (Tatum & Bell Rd in Phoenix) is pathetic.

I purchased my first pair of eye glasses from the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center in 2006. I asked the person for advice on what were the most popular frames as they had a large selection. The lady was very helpful and we ended up ordering a pair of Zeiss frames with full rims and lenses with transitions. They seem to work fine and I was initially impressed with the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart's Vision Center. In 2007 after visiting my optometrist, I was given a new prescription for a stronger lens.
Well, I visited the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center and the lady who helped me out in 2006 was, of course, no longer working there. I ended up dealing with a man who I again asked for advice on frames as I thought he would know. Well, we settled on a rimless pair of eyeglasses with Nikon lenses and transitions to the tune of over $400. This person recommended these frames, he said they were very popular and they sold a lot of them so I believed they were the right choice.
They seemed fine and I immediately started wearing them. It was maybe 5 weeks later when they started to slip and would not stay at the correct place for them to even be 100% usable. The frames were bent. I then went back to the Vision Center and the same person who recommended them to me in the first place actually told me he would have not recommended this type of frame! He checked them and told me there was nothing wrong with them and blew me off as quick as he could. I was not sure what galaxy he was in that day but is was not this one!
Well, here is where this fiasco begins. This employee obviously does not know what he is doing in regards to recommending eyeglass frames or treating all customers the same regardless of the situation and he refuses to listen to his customers. And, frankly, I feel like as a customer I was misled and misrepresented by this Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center. Knowing these eyeglasses were bent, in lieu of causing a real scene with this employee of Walmart, I quietly left and went to my optometrist and asked them to check these glasses.
Well they did and the glasses were so out of adjustment that they asked me how I even saw clearly. So they straightened them out for me and for the first time since I purchased these glasses, I could actually see 100%. They also told me that these frames were too small in the first place. This type of rimless frames they would never recommend for my type of lenses. Therefore the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center employee had suggested the worse type of frames possible, knowing they would not last, apparently hoping I would come back again to be an annual victim of this grossly overrated Vision Center.
They blew me off, refused to acknowledge they were in fact bent and of course he was the only one there at the time as well so I had no witnesses. A few weeks later, the frames broke less than maybe 6 months after purchasing them. So it appears to me that I was set up by this Vision Center who sold me a cheap frame that they knew would not last, therefore causing me spend another $400 for a new pair.
Well that did not happen and never will. I am through being a victim of this overrated Gulf Shores Alabama Walmart! I spoke with the manager of the Vision Center at that time and explained my whole case to her and she was very helpful and apologized for this employee's actions. She actually ordered me a replacement pair and did not charge me which was very acceptable as I should not have had to pay another $400 in less than 12 months after the first pair, especially since I was jerked around by this place to begin with.
Well, in January of 2009, the replacement pair broke in half in the one place that is not repairable. So I now have to wear my original pair of Zeiss glasses as I simply am unable to shell out another $400 for glasses right now. I have been a victim of this Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center for the last time. I sincerely hope this employee is happy with himself as he has caused me now 2 months of having to use a pair from 2006 that is not even the correct prescription, numerous headaches over this mess as I, of course, am unable to come up with yet another $400.
This is the most outrageous mess I could imagine going through over eyeglasses. The real kicker is, of course, I have to pay the price over gross incompetence and very poor management (if any at all) at the very least. In all fairness, this complaint is not with the optometrist in any way, shape or form but only the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center's staff. I hear nothing but good feedback on the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center's optometrist.
My main reason for posting this is to hopefully save someone else from having to go through this kind of consumer abuse, deception and lack of professionalism from a second-rated Vision Center who frankly should stick to selling pre-made sunglasses and lens cleaner at the very best, assuming they can even keep them in stock on a consistent basis. Walmart Vision Centers are extremely overrated and I would recommend to everyone to not ever use these people, especially the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart or its Vision Center. They are both very inefficient and frankly never have enough stock and apparently are unable to have more than one or two cashiers working at peak times. So my best advice is to never set foot in this Gulf Shores, Alabama's overrated Walmart. It is another national chain that comes to Baldwin County, Alabama and ends up like every other fly-by-night business in Baldwin County, Alabama - mismanaged, understocked, understaffed, overrated and the list goes on and on but to summarize it, a real joke!

My original experience was great. The warranty was posted on the walls for a 1 year guarantee of the glasses if they break. They told me there was a 60 day guarantee to make sure the prescription was okay and the glasses were working fine. And the folks there were courteous. I got in quickly. The doctor was kind. I did question going from a bifocal before at another doctor's office to a non-bifocal this time. With the economy being what it is, not having a job, living with friends, I wasn't able to afford my other doctor, and someone had recommended Wal-Mart. He said the exam showed I no longer needed bifocals and perhaps the other prescription was off due to me being on certain medicines at the previous time that can affect your vision. This seemed logical; I'm not a doctor, so I said okay.
My life is active with sports and family. I shared I needed a frame they would support that. I picked one out that was within a price that could be afforded with the help from my friends. When the glasses came in, they had ordered the wrong frame so they had me pick out a different one and reordered the frame since the one I ordered was a flexible frame and a little more costly, and this frame made the lenses cut different so the prescription was off as well. I came back a week later and picked up the new ones.
I could see a big difference in some things like shapes and sizes than before. However, there were certain things I still couldn't see like for distance or reading fine print. I told them that day I still couldn't even read the signs 10 feet away. They said it was a new prescription and give it two weeks. I said “But I can't see far off.” She stated "Sometimes your eyes just have to get used to them and relearn how to focus with the new prescription." Who am I to argue? I said okay and my friend and I left.
2 week time: I go back, still can't see and they go back to the doctor and come back out. The doctor never calls me back or talks with me in any way. The lady, who was different, this time said "The doctor said to give it a couple of weeks more." There was no sense in arguing when I wasn't getting any help and I thought, well they're the professionals. Again my friend and I left.
Week 3: my glasses broke. These were glasses with the frame type that the lady literally twisted and wrapped around her finger. They aren't supposed to break. But okay I sat on them so that's different than wrapping them around your finger. The hinge broke and the lenses popped out. I go back to Wal-Mart. While waiting I tried to wrap them around my finger just for kicks because I thought it was neat. I couldn't. I thought this strange. The lady came just then, saw me and asked what I was doing. I said the glasses broke so I am bringing them back since it is within your store’s 60 day policy and the 1 year warranty posted on the wall for the frames.
She asked me why I was twisting the frames. I told her I had seen her do it and just thought I'd try because it was neat. She said "Well you really shouldn't be doing that." I asked her why, since she was the one who had originally done it, and that I got the glasses because she showed me that she could do that. Meaning they should be able to do that so if they get twisted or contorted, they can just be put back in shape. She replied "Well, we know how to bend them." I bit my tongue and said fine.
I then asked her if she could fix the glasses. She said no one was there and that she would need to keep them and ask someone the next day. Again I bit my tongue. I said okay and left my glasses there. I go back to check on my glasses and they say. "I'm sorry, we can't fix these. You need to take them to C&B Optical to get them fixed." I was a bit more than a little irritated by now. I stated and pointed to the sign on the wall for the guarantee and nicely reminded her of the in store 60 day policy. She told me she couldn't help at that store; Wal-Mart doesn't fix them.
I decided okay, I can try to be fair. Part of my dilemma was that C&B Optical is actually my old eye doctor’s office. So I say to her, “Okay, can I leave them here and have you ship them there (only 20 minutes or less away), have them fix them, and ship them back for me? I don't want to go there because I came here to you from them.” She said "No, we don't do that sort of thing." Then I asked her if they just bill Wal-Mart for the fix. Do you have some sort of contract with them? I again reminded her of the 2 guarantees, and the fact that I still couldn't see! She responded to me by saying, "Mam, you broke them, accidentally or not, that is not our fault. It's up to you to get them fixed." By this time I was almost livid.
I then stated to her. "Here's the problem. I told you when I got the glasses I couldn't read fine print or see distantly. You told me to come back in two weeks - I did. You told me to come back two weeks later. I am here a week later with broken glasses because I have never been able to see out of them so I set them down beside me because it was actually easier to see without them and they were giving me a headache. If you folks had fixed them or helped me in the first place, they would have been on my face because I would be using them since they would be helpful." I then stated that I was within my 60 days for the in store guarantee. She said yes, but the doctor said last time to give it yet, another week before you can come back to be retested. I said "But I still can't see, the glasses have never helped. Now they are broken, you aren't honoring your policy. I can't afford to pay for them to get them fixed, to keep trying them for the week." She said "Well there's nothing I can do about that. We didn't break them."
Since reminding her of their policy numerous time wasn't helping, I asked her "So, then what do you suggest I do?" She stated, "Wear them broken and come back in the next week and we can at least get you a new prescription if the doctor says you need one. But if you want the lenses put in frames, you'll have to get yours fixed or buy a new set of frames from us." I was almost in tears by this time. I had a huge migraine (which is why I was trying to get a new pair of glasses in the first place and told the doctor that to start with. So this whole time I had continued to suffer the migraines because the prescription never helped.). I'm standing there nauseated from the migraine. I told her I couldn't afford that and I got my glasses here because of the warranties, but not that it is time to use the warranties you are trying to find loopholes not to honor it, when forget the warranties, I still can't see! You have yet to give me a prescription I can use.
I then proceeded to ask for my money back (minus the cost of the lenses, I would "eat" the cost of them. They were the least expensive thing anyways.). She said, "How do you expect to get your money back?" I stated that “I had paid for services not rendered. I had an eye exam that wasn't true and didn't work, so please refund that money. Then you created lenses from a faulty prescription that doesn't work. Neither of these are my fault. So please if you would just refund the money, I'll be out of your hair and you'll never see me again.”
She stated I hadn't fulfilled the 60 day time period and needed to come back the following week for another re-check. I reminded her I just wanted to be done. My head was hurting from the migraine and I needed the money to go somewhere else especially since someone else had donated the money for me to get the glasses in the first place. I share that I had never been told in all my years of wearing glasses to keep coming back and this was only the second time I'd had a faulty exam. The other time the doctor re-did it within a week.
Well this saga could go on and on and did. Finally, I was told when the doctor would see me, that the 60 days was over and I would now have to pay for another exam and new glasses, when I never got any glasses that worked to start with. So to this day, I am still without glasses and having migraines. I don't know what else to do, other than to write this letter to let people know so that they do not get hurt or taken advantage of.
Economic Consequences: I am a survivor of domestic violence. I have a restraining order on my past abuser. Many women know that paper just ticks off the abuser and doesn't stop them if they want to severely damage you. So some folks who found out have taken me in and we have become friends. They donated the money for me to get the glasses, since I couldn't get a job at the time due to still healing from the abuse. I was and still am having bad migraines. My friend are out some serious cash as my glasses cost over $200.00, most of that was the prescription and anti-glare that I needed to drive at night, and then the eye exam. All I wanted was for Wal-Mart to refund my money or honor their posted policies and 60 day guarantee. I realize complications arise. Just re-examine my eyes, or do what is necessary to remedy the problem. That is their guarantee.
Physical issues: I still have a pair of glasses I can't use, so my migraines are bad and keep me bed bound on some days. On other days, my friends have to drive me to interviews and meetings because it's too hard for me to see at night and even during the day. Sometimes the migraines get so bad I pass out or have to stop side the road in a hurry to throw up. Driving me around is economic hardship for my friends as the one who has to do the driving has work his ministry around my schedule and at times cancel ministry sessions to take me where I need to go which then causes emotional distress on the person who was supposed to meet with him. He and his wife have 3 children so she can't just up and leave them. One is barely a past infancy and the oldest is only 7.
I stopped applying for jobs because even in between interviews, I'd be in bed with a migraine and if I actually got the job, I would lose it because I had to call in too much. My migraines are up to almost daily now. It takes a while to get insurance and even then some companies don't offer it. We are trying to save up from what work I can get, as I ended up starting my own business that I can do even from bed if I have to, to get money for glasses. In the meanwhile, I'll just deal with the migraines not being able to drive on a regular basis and having my friends chauffeur me around.

I had a eye exam at a local Wal-Mart optical department. The so-called doctor was behind by several patients due to the extra time spent with an elderly lady. I felt the exam was rushed and unprofessional. My Wal-Mart glasses broke within two weeks. When I went to have them serviced the technician claimed it was just a stripped screw, which it was not, and simply put another screw in the glasses, which proceeded to fall out because the molded tabs which hold the screw were worn out. Wal-Mart refused to fix the glasses even though all Wal-Mart glasses are sold with 1 year guarantee (there's even signs on the walls saying this). I went to another eye doctor and had another exam and found my prescription was wrong. I also had them examine the glasses and they wrote a letter clearly saying they were broken. I did a chargeback against Wal-Mart for both the exam and the glasses.
This report included a detail report with photocopies and testimony from the other eye doctor. The Bank of Americacredit card denied the claim saying it was not Wal-Mart's fault as the glasses were guaranteed from another company. The letter said I had no right to appeal and the matter was closed. This is an absolute lie because the glasses are a Wal-Mart store brand only sold at Wal-Mart. I again went to the Wal-Mart store and told the same person that I now had testimony from another optician indicating that the glasses were broken and that my exam was wrong and that if I didn't get it fixed then we could go to court. This person told me they would look for another frame at another Wal-Mart store, which would take a couple days and that they would call me. They never called and after 2 weeks I stopped in and asked what going on and this same person now told me that the glasses were no longer made and that I could pick out another pair and they would adjust the bill.
When I was done I was told by this person I would have to pay $22.00 more for the difference in cost. Couple weeks later I stopped in Wal-Mart to see if my glasses were in and this time the previous jerk was not working. The person who helped me now told me I was due a $22.00 refund, not liable for $22.00 more. I had to pay for two exams because I had to go to another doctor. I also had to pay for another pair of glasses from the second doctor because the first used the wrong prescription and not the new one I gave Wal-Mart from the other doctor. Stay away from Wal-Mart optical - you get what you pay for.

The eye doctor gave me the wrong prescription for my contacts and my eye glasses. Which cost me a lot of eye problems and money that I don't have. I don't think she is fit to be a doctor. My insurance only covers one annual examination. She cost me a lot of money, different doctor examination. I now have to update my new glasses because she gave me the wrong prescription. I am having tests run on my eyes.

I broke my glasses about 10 days ago. Last week I went to Walmart optical center to make new ones. They sent me to Dr. ** whose office in Walmart building, he gave me prescription R -6, L -5.5 and they told me the glasses will be ready after a week, and after 8 days I went to pick up my glasses. Once I put them on I feel that they are totally wrong. I told them I feel that I'm wearing somebody else's glasses. She told me just try them for the day and if they don't get better, come back tomorrow to see the doctor.
And the next day I took my old glasses and I went to see the doctor. After examining me again and testing my old glasses lenses, he gave a new prescription with only R -3, L -2.25 and they told me come to pick it up after another week. And when I asked them to rush it because I can't stay without glasses any longer, they said they can't help me cause another company which actually make the glasses. So I wonder what doctor change his opinion from -6 to -3 within a week?????

I entered the Walmart Vision Center today to purchase my new glasses. I was expecting to see the same lady that I have followed for years, 10 to be exact, to help me with my purchase. I have never found any other optician to be as friendly, knowledgeable, and downright customer service oriented no matter where I have gone in search of glasses. So needless to say I have followed her wherever she went to work. Well today I got the shock of my life... I was told she had been let go. I was not told by anyone in the vision center as to why so I inquired of a worker in the store who I know through my ex wife. I was told this woman was fired!! I find this totally unbelievable. This woman is of the highest character and I cannot fathom what could make an organization as huge as Walmart make such a HUGE mistake.
I have visited several other of the area's vision centers and can attest to the Eastway store and the Albemarle Rd. store... Their customer service is totally lacking... I just wanted to make it known to anyone who reads this that I will NEVER purchase glasses from Walmart again nor will anyone I know. If your Good employees are treated this way, how do you treat your poor ones?? Of course I guess that is a way of Walmart saving their almighty $... hiring poor performing employees so they can pay them much less, but eventually it is the customer who suffers. I will search until I find this wonderful woman and I will purchase my glasses from her no matter where she is working and no matter how much more they may cost because I am an excellent judge of character and I am sure there has been a terrible mistake made here...

For the past three years I have been going to the Vision Venter at Walmart. Every time they would say I would receive a card in the mail when my next eye exam was needed. The first year I received the card. The last two years I guess I must go blind because I have not received a card or a telephone call about an exam. I DID go last year on my own without receiving a card or call. Finally I decided that I would order my contacts online from 1-800-contacts and I gave them my Vision Center in which I used and when they called they stated that they would not give out this information. I don't know why because they don't care about my eye sight. If they DID I would have had a notice stating it was time. I want them to give my prescription to 1-800-contacts or I could go blind. Then I will just have more money. I am not a hard person. I work at the Hartsville Police Dept . And I deserve respect .

I have been trying to get the appropriate reading/working glasses since 6/08 with Walmart. I started out with N. Syracuse Walmart. My first visit I explained I need them for working on the computer/reading/night vision to reduce glare. They stated that once I got them I would never want to take them off. So many appts too many to count, 3 Dr's exams ,all different prescriptions/at least 3-4 different lenses. Repeated visits with blurred vision/eyes burning from Debbie and other techs telling me to keep trying them, that it would take a few weeks. Eyes burning to no avail, I stopped at their Central Square Vision Center.
After numerous trips there at between 2.70 to 3.20 a gallon for gas, a trainee placing lenses in wrong to finally getting a material that I did not feel I was either looking through a fog or a Kaleidoscope's scope, I stopped in to see if they could adjust them again as now I could see through them to read and computer, but felt like either I was looking through the line or a tunnel. Now it is 1/09 and I have no glasses at all. Upon my visit for the adjustment the tech broke the frame and I was told that they do not carry that frame any longer. So now lenses and frame would have to be replaced. I would have to start all over again. I was so disgusted I told her I might better get my money back. She stated that she would check into other frames and call me that evening which was Friday and it is now Monday. No phone call in sight. Not only by the time I get any result here I could be blind. I would at least have been offered restitution of some kind.

In February 2008, I used my local Walmart Optical department. While I received good care from the optometrist on duty, I have to complain about the quality of the glasses that I wound up getting. I have to agree with the lady that made the statement where the styles were geared for either the very young or the very old, and I'm 52. I have a very strong prescription and my lenses are very expensive. With that strength, I need to have wire frames because plastics are just too heavy on my face. I looked through the very limited selection that I had available to look at and I was able to find a pair of frames that I could live with. Little did I realize that the frame I used to try on was the frames that I wound up getting. In other words, I did not get a new pair of frames with my eye glass order.
At the time I bought these, I was very strapped for cash and I was trying to figure out which utility I could put off safely without fear of immediate termination in order to pay for a pair of glasses, I was thrilled to see my bill only come to $310. I have paid as much as $500 for a pair of glasses. However, imagine my dismay when I realized that the frames I received back with my order were the same frames that I had tried on at the store. I didn't know that Walmart Optical didn't give you a new pair of frames when you bought glasses. I have had the lenses wind up popping out of these horrible frames so many times I lost count.
One time, I was in the process of walking across the street to visit my Germantown Walmart store for something else and I got a piece of dirt blown in my eye. I removed my glasses to get the bit out and the left lens pops out right there onto the blacktop. I managed to get into the optical department without getting hit by a car since I almost literally cannot see without my glasses. The gal on duty in the optical department was very accommodating and she put the lens back in there and managed to get a permanent screw in.
However, now I began having problems with the right lens popping out all the time when I went to clean my glasses. This evening is the last straw. I was cleaning my glasses when the right lens popped out and the screw was still in place. I have not been able to get the lens to go back into the frame. I know I have been having problems with not being able to read properly with the way these frames are warped but I was hoping that I could avoid having to get another pair of glasses this year because I really don't have the money for it.
Not only that, I don't even have any recourse to complain to Walmart about it since they only give consumers a 30-day money-back guarantee. I'm going to have to go back over there tomorrow in the hopes that they will be able to fix these glasses up well enough that I can skate by until I can put aside another $300-$400 for a pair of glasses.
The reason for this complaint is to make consumers aware that you need to be very careful when getting eyewear at Walmart Optical Departments as you may very well suffer the same fate that I have if you buy your frames and lenses from them. As it is, I feel that eyewear is terribly overpriced for what it is. I really cannot see what can generate a price tag of $300 to $400 that I have paid over the years for a lousy pair of glasses. I suppose if you don't mind looking like a dweeb, or a teenybopper or like you're ready for the nursing home, you can get by with just any old cheap pair of frames, but if you want something that is tasteful you had better be prepared to pay for it and handsomely too.
At least in the other optical stores, you do not get sold the pair of frames that you tried on! They take the model number down and get you a whole new pair, one that hasn't been handled by who knows how many people and kids messing around with it, probably bending the pieces back and forth.
I just feel very used and abused with this. My eyewear is an extension of my body. I need them to see. Without them I cannot work, I cannot drive, I cannot cook or read nor even walk safely. Walmart has created a situation, albeit with my own permission I suppose, if you want to look at it that way, where I have put my eyes at risk by an inferior pair of frames. There is no way I hope to get any kind of monetary reparation for this foolish mistake of mine, but I do want to warn other consumers out there to be careful in Walmart Optical Departments.

I took my 11-year old in to see the eye doctor. It was a walk in. I sat down, filled out the necessary paperwork, and handed them to an assistant who then took my daughter back for the beginning of the exam. Then we sat and waited another half hour for the doctor. We went back for the 5 min. exam. He informed us that she did need glasses. So we went out to pick out frames. The assistant asked if I had insurance. I said yes and handed her my Illinois Public Aid insurance card. She looked at me and very RUDELY said, "Oh well, we do not accept that. But you have to pay for the exam!” $60!!!
I feel the first thing that should be asked is what kind of insurance you have if any, LONG before they do the exam! You don't go see any doctor without showing insurance first! I had the $60 but it was for the household items I intended to get that day (laundry soap, dish soap, etc). I was frustrated and very, very upset they didn't ask for an insurance card before they did the exam. I will never go back to any Walmart store again.

I had an eye exam at Walmart a little over a year ago for glasses and contacts. It took several tries to get the contacts right where I could see, and that is normal (first time for glasses or contacts, I am far sighted). The eyeglasses I could never see out of very well and after a few weeks, I noticed they looked scratched so I took them in again and was told that I must have scratched them. I normally wear my contact. Sometimes in the evening if I am reading I would wear my glasses, Maybe 2 to 3 times a week, and I took very good care of them, cleaned with a special eyeglass cleaning cloth which I showed the girls there and they approved. Well recently, I went to another eye Doctor and had an exam. Not only was the RX different but when he checked the lens, He told me that they are not scratched but the protective coating is coming off and they should be warranted 1 to 2 years. Walmart only warrants them for 30 days, and I was back there within 30 days. Now they will not offer me any type of solution. I've been back in the past year at least 15+ times.

I had an eye exam and bought a pair of glasses from Wal-Mart. Everyone was very helpful and nice to work with. My complaint is about the quality of the frames that I purchased. I paid $120 for these frames and they literally fell apart within 4 months. First, the coating on the frames started peeling off and then the protective plastic on the bows came off. I went back to Wal-Mart and asked them what they would do about it. I was told there was a 60 day warranty and since that was over, they would do nothing. The technician said, "It's not so bad, mine are peeling too." I work in a professional office environment and need to look good. I cannot wear these hideous frames that are falling apart! I since have gone and spent more money on another pair of glasses from what I feel to be a more qualified and caring practice that sells quality product.

December '07 I purchased a prescription pair of glasses. The frames were $136.00. (The total price for the glasses were $411.00). The rubber earpieces started splitting and falling apart. I took them to the center where I purchased them and was notified the warranty was good for 60 days! What a ripoff! This is absurd! The only alternative I was offered was the purchase of another frame. This would be throwing good money after bad! STAY AWAY FROM WALMART VISION CENTER. I now have a $411 dollar set of 10 month old eyeglasses that I might use if I can tape up the earpieces. Cute. I will also have to get another eye exam at $$$ and purchase another set of glasses. I have no insurance.

Bob was very nice the first time, and said, “Come in and I will give you 5 days to get by.” I used those up, and found out my order was still not ready to ship, so I saw Bob, and asked if I could buy a couple pairs to get by until my order came in. He was VERY RUDE, and said I ran out. I asked if there was any other options, maybe he had another brand or whatever, and I would glad to pay for them. He said NO...
That evening I called the store again to see if anyone there know a place where I could go buy some, Heather answered and said to just come in and she would take care of me. Thank you VERY MUCH HEATHER. You know in a world where customer service determines where we shop, I will definitely have to reconsider Walmart Vision Center - Anthem. If I do, it will not be because of your BOB.

I agree with the customers when they say the associates were rude & grumpy. Some of my managers, in fact, were some of the worst when it came to customer service. AND, that is one of the main reasons we are there, right? We need to be able to inform the patient about the fitting of frames, contacts, what pair of glasses go best with their face and lens choice. These are only a few of the things we SHOULD keep in mind while assisting them. I have been embarrassed many many times while a fellow associate, even a manager, was completely rude to a customer. I always say drop your problems and personal life at the door. There are many different situations that I've read about here and I have come into contact with a lot of the same problems but, the associates should do the best they can to ensure these customers have a worry-free experience.
Patients and customers should not have to defend themselves like this. I don't know if other vision ctrs are like this, but both stores I've worked at have had extremely rude associates. Is there something that can be done about this? I don't feel it's right when I'm pre screening a patient, and they have to vent to me about how the other associates were so rude to them and they only want to deal with me from now on. Come on people... lets be nicer to our customers. Don't lie to them about their orders. This is their money and their vision we're dealing with here. Give them respect and understanding.

My husband and I had an exam by a very nice female Dr. and then it was all over. The girls in the frame room were rude, snotty and did not know a thing about the products, frames, lenses or how to fit glasses to the face. I worked for a family owned optical office and we were trained how to do these things before we were turned loose to help our pts. Personality was top on our list. So like a dummy we went ahead and got our glasses, and we spent over $800.00 after our ins. paid.
We both got frames that the sunglasses hook on by magnets Great feature until the magnet fall out less than 4 months later and you are told they can’t order parts for your glasses. You have to buy a whole new frame. Now I have new glasses and can't use the sunglasses. We will never go to Walmart again. EXPENSIVE lesson learned. Could have gotten better quality, service, and had my glasses fixed for same price or less.

Well, she went in for the exam and after it was over. They said she owed $48. She did not have any money on her. They said she could not leave the store until they had their money. She called me. I tried to give them credit card info, debit card info, checking acc. info. They said she had to stay there until someone came and paid the bill. I could not get there to pay them. Sept. 27, 2008 I went to Walmart to have my daughters eyes examined. While I was waiting for my 10 year old, the two ladies that work there started discussing the recent presidential debate. They started out mild and they weren't talking that loud. So, I had to sit there the while waiting for my daughter and listen to them talk about the candidate I am voting for for President. I didn't say anything; my daughter came out and we started looking for her glasses. The girl that was helping us was very uncomfortable with the ladies discussion because she could see I was not happy about it.
We sat down to have her glasses fitted and the lady really started getting loud and boisterous. I turned around and told her that I would really rather they not discuss that right then. I turned around thinking the would at least tone it down since I had asked. Instead, she got louder. They talked the entire time my daughter we were in there, when the Doctor came out, he joined in. I felt as if I was being made fun of. It was so uncomfortable, I don't even want to go back in there to get my daughter's glasses. People shouldn't have to put up with that. She was clearly just being mean, and didn't care if I was offended or not.
I'll tell you what the damage was. I have been on medication all week for bacteria in my stomach. By the time I got out of that stupid store, my stomach was in knots. I didn't feel good anyway, I didn't need the added anxiety. The anxiety was really over the blatant disregard for the request I made to please not discuss that issue.

Appox 9 years ago when I had an exam and ordered lenses for the 2 sets of frames the tech at the Grants Pass, Or, store put in the wrong order twice. This means for over a month I was without my glass and making 70 mile round trips each time. 4 years ago I tried the Wal-Mart Vision Center again with an exam, buying frmaes and lenses. This tech, as well, ordered the wrong lenses so again I had to make three trips.
Aug 28, 2008 I tried one more time. The exam went fine and the ordering of lenses seem to go ok. On Wednesday the 3rd of September, 2008 I was called by the tech for her to say that I needed to come in within two days so they could take a trace of my frames days to hve my and if I did not come in within 2 days they would cancel my order. I took off work for the afternoon on the very same day she called and she traced my glasses. She also said that my lenses were made and all they had to do was cut them for the frame so it would be only a couple of days.
Over a week past so I called 24th of Sept. 2008. The assistant manager ssid that because I didn't come in my order was canceled. I drove to the Grants Pass, Oregon, Wal-Mart Vision Center that very same day to ask why when I did what I was to that the order had been canceled. The assistant manager actually declined discussing it, nor did he have a name tag on or would give me his name. He continued to say it was my fault. I asked for my refund. He wxplained it would be faster if the company mailed it to me and that if it went through my card it would take up to two weeks.
I had him electronically put it on my card due to the incompetancy on this Wal-Mart I did not trust a mailed refund. After he electronically put my card through my refund was credited to my accoount the next day. This is 3 really bad experiences I have had at the Grants Pass, Wl-Mart Vision Center. I will not give another chance.
I took off work each time I had to return for tech misorders. I had a longer wait to be with much needed new lenses and my work profession depends on visual.

I went to Walmart to get eyeglasses for my son and contacts for myself. We had Vision Insurance, therefore I did not expect to pay too much from out of pocket. i've had this type of insurance for well over 10 years and I have an idea of how much this may cost. When we were done, i was told i had to pay $238 out of pocket and since they have already placed the order, there is nothing I can do. I was expecting to pay more or less $100 for both. But I was stuck and just paid it.
But when we picked up the glasses, they just handed it to us. No one did the fitting or anything. My son's glasses were too big and kept falling out of his face so a couple of months later, the frame broke because it fell out of his face. then we were told they can't fix it - we'll have to buy a new frame. Now, I have new vision insurance through my own job so i broght him to Des moines Vision Center. My out of pocket was only $45 for him instead of $178. They fitted him before the exam and when we picked it up. It is also a much better quality frame.
My son had to go to school without his glasses fro a couple of months because i had to wait to get my vision insurance at work. We can only use my husband's insurance every 2 years. I also wasted the $178 out of pocket expense because my son only used it for a few weeks

I told the doctor what kind of lenses I have always worn in the past ( and they can order at this location) he said he would rather try something new, he also told me that since I am close to 40 that I would most likely need a lessor perscription then I usualy needed and he was going to lower the strenghth and handed me a set of trials. I put them in went to the check out where i was directed to order lenses and check out. I ordered 4 boxes of what I was given and pre payed (you have to). The doctor typed in the wrong exam date on the sheets of printed out papers, it says the eye exam was on 7/17/08 and right under it it says the days date was 8/04/08 ( this was the date of the exam also).
I left the store and all night was dizzy, light headed, sick to my stomach and headache, things didnt look right , like both eyes were not working together. I called and they booked me for a follow up, I told what was wrong and he handed me two more pair of contacts to try. At this time (2 days) they said the contacts I ordered were in, they ended up ordering the wrong contacts (their mistake) so they reordered. I went through 2 and a half weeks and 3 visits back all the while feeling sick , dizzy , headache each time i was given a different pair the last being one for astigmatizm that was a different prescription.
I was frustrated and still feeling and seeing off. Went to a eye specialist and did a new exam, guess what? the prescription was way off. Upon recieving the trial pair from the new doctor I was able to see and all physical symptoms went away. The new doctor said there was no reason that I shouldnt or couldnt wear the brand I had worn before. I went and canceled my order at walmart but am still out the exam fee, I will warn everyone not to go to a discount store when it comes to your vision. I spent almost 3 weeks of my life miserable and sick and probably could have had eye damage if i had continued there.

I normally am a Lens Crafter customer but after losing my job the fisrt part of the year I thought I would give Walmarts' vision center a try to save myself some money. I in return have only added to my money woes. I had run out of my current contacts and had to have an eye xeam to get more. I went for the exam and my doctor who was very nice, but did not seem very skilled at her job.
I could see when I went to Walmart but after my exam and my new trial contacts were given my vision became blurred, fuzzy and fogged. I had seemed to have lost my far away vision. I couldn't even wear the contacts for the entire trial week. I went back and was given a new trial pair and the same thing again I still could not see far way, things were blurred etc.. I have been wearing and getting eye exams now for about 20+ years. Her exams were not thorough. Never did she adjust or make the letters on the chart clear and crisp for me to see. Plus both times I was in She kept bringing up and trying to push the vortec lense for my right eye, due to my stigmatism. I have had that stigmatism now for sometime and it has never been a great problem for me to need the vortec lense.
I made an appoitment to Lens Crafters for another eye exam the day before I was due back to my third Walmart trip. It is truely like a miracle. I can see!! I had a great exam all the letters on the eye chart were made picture perfect clear for me to see. And there was still no mention or need for me to go into a more expensive vortec lense. In conclusion I did not say myself money. I lost $100.00 and two weeks of valuable vision time. I will never recommend or go back to Walmarts' vision center. Lesson learned.
As stated in my letter I have recently lost my job. I paid $100.00 for an exam to get contact and I have lost that. I had to go to another eye doctor and pay $120.00 for an exam not to mention my time of spending two weeks of not being able to see the world clearly.

On 4/16/08 my husband and I both had eye exams and ordered glasses from Wal-Mart Vision Center in Farmington. Once we had them and tried to wear them we realized we could not see well. My husband had such difficulty seeing he had to revert back to wearing his old glasses. I had gotten bifocal glasses plus sunglasses They talked me into getting poly coating on my sunglasses, which caused somewhat of a rainbow effect of bluish and orange colors. That in turn made it impossible for me to read the radio stations, info. in my dash, etc. My husband and I returned to the Vision Center and explained the problems we were having with our glasses. They agreed to do a reexam for my husband and admitted his eye exam the first time was NOT CORRECT. They made new lenses and he is still unable to see as he should!
As far as the problem I was having with my sunglasses they said that glasses which have the poly coating on them will do that! (They never told me that could happen when they talked me into getting the poly coating and paying extra for it. Then the first month with my bifocals I was still trying to get used to them and was still unable to see as I should when I bumped my glasses (frameless on the lower area) and the extremely thin ,flimsy plastic piece holding my lens in place popped into and went flying across the room!
I was SO frustrated with what my husband and I had experienced so far with our glasses I didn't go back. My husband and I live on a monthly income which is at Poverty Level and we took $996.76 out of our meager savings to pay for our glasses. I finally drove to St.Louis,Mo. (which is 100 miles away) to St. John's Hospital to their Eye Care Center for an eye exam and two new pairs of regular glasses/sunglases and have to dip into oour savings again. I learned from St. John's Mercy Eye Care that the prescription Wal-Mart Vision Center put me in was not a correct prescription AT ALL!
I strongly feel Wal-Mart Vision Center should have to return ALL our money.

I recently took my 10 year old daughter to Walmart vision center for a vision checkup with the optometrist. Her checkup revealed that my daughter needed a new prescription and her current glasses would have to be replaced. My daughter picked out her new frames and we ordered her new glasses from the vision center that day. A few days later, maybe 3 or 4 days at the most, we got a call from the vision center saying her glasses were ready. We picked them up the same day.
When my daughter first put the glasses on while we were in the vision center, she immediately complained, saying the new glasses made her eyes hurt. She did not have this problem with her previous pair of glasses, so I asked the person at Walmart vision if this was normal, because it didn't seem normal to me. I was told that it was normal for your eyes to hurt for a couple of weeks after a new pair of glasses.
Since it still didn't seem right to me, I asked if they had checked the glasses to make sure the new lenses matched the new prescription and were correct. I was assured they had checked them. My daughter struggled with these new lenses for almost 3 weeks before we were able to bring her back in.
When the Walmart vision center technician examined her new glasses, we were informed that the prescription was incorrect and they would have to reorder new lenses. We are picking them up today, however, I am also bringing my daughter in to visit with the Optometrist on Saturday to make sure this latest set of lenses are, in fact, the correct prescription. This will be my first and last visit to Walmart vision center.
The consequences of their sloppy work ethic and failure to check my daughter's new prescription lenses, after they assured me they had, caused needless suffering on the part of my young daughter. She has suffered from headaches and has been complaining when she tries to read. They should be more responsible.

It's now May and my box of contacts are out and I call and say that I didn't do my follow-up because I couldn't afford anything at the time, but am ready to come in and do a follow up and buy contacts now. They tell me it's a $25 late fee for not showing up in January when they asked. I told them I cancelled the appt, but they didn't care. So now they are trying to sucker me out of another $25. I tell the doctor that I've been going to WalMart since I was 14 years old and now I'm 27. Do the math. I told them that they lost me as a patient and they said that they will not release my contact prescription to any doctor. Is that legal? If it cost me another $20 co-pay to go to another doctor and get a second eye exam, than it's $5 less than the late fee for the late follow-up appt. They are losing me forever as a patient. I will never go back there.
$30+ and they are trying to get another $25 that I refuse to pay.

I brought my own designer frames in and asked if they could fit them with lenses. They said no problem. The cost would be $80 per lens and a $20 processing fee, for a total of $180. After I gave them my money it was nothing but trouble. The first week I got a call that the lenses had to be sent back due to quality issues. The second week I drove to pick them up only to find out that it was the wrong prescription. The next week I got a call that the lenses came in too big. Two weeks after that I was told that they were in, went down to pick them up, only to find that the lenses were full of debris and when one of the attendants cleaned them up they ended up scratching the lenses due to the poor lens cutting job.
By this time I had had it. I must have spent over $30 in gas driving back and forth across the county over the month and a half they had my frames. The manager's reasoning (Andrel) for giving me a refund was that she was having to eat all the costs on these lenses and it was not worth it to her. Never mind that NONE of this was my fault. The manager was more interested in the bottom line than customer satisfaction. So, I went in to return the lenses yet again and the manager was not in.
The vision attendant (Amanda) was extremely uncooperative and told me that she could not give me a refund because the manager was out to lunch and that I would have to wait for 30 minutes. I then asked her to call another manager to which she replied that another manager would not be able to help me. I then *insisted* that she call a manager to which she replied, I really don't understand what the problem is with the glasses. Ummm, do they *train* these people in customer service??? Once again, I insisted on speaking to a manager. She picked up the phone and told me that there was no other manager in.
So, I got up, walked down to customer service, and low and behold, there I found a manager!! Imagine that? A manager in a store! The manager was extremely sympathetic and issued me a refund of $160, to which I interjected that I paid $180. Amanda, the lazy, unhelpful attendant piped in that $20 was a non-refundable processing fee. To which I responded, for what? Are you saying that I should pay you for holding my frames for a month and a half and continually putting in defective lenses???
Thank goodness the kind manager was still there and promptly refunded me the additional $20. So, for all that hassle I lost $30 in gas, hours in time, gained a high degree of frustration, and got my $250 designer frames back with scratches and loose hinges which I am uncertain can be repaired. Everything they say about the Walmart Vision Center is true. They suck!!
Lost $30 in gas. My brand new frames were returned to me with scratches and bent hinges.

I (ten years of age) had just gotten in a car accident with my two sisters (23 and 16 years old) and my niece (2 years old) around September and my glasses that were purchased from the vision center around August got mangled as well as my sister's that were purchased a week before mine. So both of us had to go back to the eye doctor to get our eyes checked and since my vision is really terrible I had to get a new prescription. I went to the Walmart Vision Center and I picked my frames and then my glasses got ordered.
About one week later my glasses were ready to get picked up. When I picked them up it was a few minutes before they were about to close and the lady was rushing me. I was going to buy more glass cleaner and a case but then she was trying to get me to just quickly get my glasses fitted and leave. When she finally did start to fit my glasses she didn't care anymore. We told her I was in an accident and had a head injury and just as I was leaving she pats me on my head slightly hard and says hope you feel better. I was really mad at her then because I think she did that purposely.
Since then and still now whenever I lean over the littlest bit, my glasses fall off my face onto the floor because the arms on my glasses are way above my ears and away from my head. Or I'll be talking and my glasses will slide off my nose. What was good was because she was rushing me I didn't buy the sunglasses, glasses cleaner and cloth, and case that I was going to get.

I went to the Vision Center at our local Walmart to be examined for contact lenses. I was examined and they placed my order for my trial lenses. About 1 1/2 weeks later they came in. They were great, except when I went to work, they were extremely sensitive to the air blowing from the vents and my eyes dried out so bad that everything became blurry. I went back to the store and explained this. The other optomitrist switched me to a different brand of lense, but he also strengthened my rx. So the second trials were ordered.
A little over a week later I called to see if they were in and was told no and that it usually takes 7-10 days. After 10 days I called again and they told me they were still not in and reassured me that they would call me. Well, one afternoon my husband and I were shopping in that Walmart and I just happened to stop by to check on my lenses. I found out that one of the lenses was backorderd and had to be reordered over a week later! No one called me to tell me that.
Well, when they finally came in, they were so strong I couldn't see out of them. I went back to the original optomitrist and told him that they other dr. had no reason to change my rx, but I did like the new brand of lenses. So, I told him I wanted my original rx but wanted to continue using the new brand. That was on 3/10/08. Again, they said it would be 7-10 days. So I waited patiently, and low and behold, they called me on 3/20 and left a message that my contact had come in.
I went to the store and found out that only one was in. When I looked at the order form, the right one was never ordered at all (the girl said that they had it all along but the optomitrist didn't see it on the shelf) and the left contact was never order until 3/17! She couldn't really answer any of my questions, but kept dancing around the problem. I demanded that they get me the correct lens. She called another store and she had them drop it off at our store.
I made another trip to my store, picked up the lens and went home. When I put the left lens in my eye, everything seemed very blurry. When I looked at the package it came in, it was the wrong rx! Now I have to go back a fourth (or maybe fifth) time to fix this problem. If this next pair come in wrong, what recourse do I have? Will they give me the $85 back that I paid for the examination?
I work in a doctor's office and need to be able to read the charts, medications, etc. I have really been struggling with my vision, trying to use my old glasses, which are outdated. I have also spent I don't know how many hours, not to mention the gasoline, making all these trips. I used to teach customer service to companies and believe me, Walmart has a long way to go before they even get close to offering good customer service.

I got vision insurance where I work and we have a supposedly good contract service with Wal-Mart. I also went to this nearest WM Vision Ctr., because my job is way across town from where I live, so it was for convenience's sake. That was a mistake. Last month, after my first visit (which was my eye exam), I picked up my bifocal glasses a week later (2nd visit) and the right lens was very weak. Turned out one of the techs. put down the wrong Rx# in the system. Another week, picked up glasses again (3rd visit). Now after only 4 hours, I can't see two feet out of the upper part and the reading part was too strong to the point my right eye strained, felt as if it was being pulled out of its socket and I got a bad headache.
I went back to my old glasses, called my insurance company and told them what happened. The co. said to call the manager to see the doctor again. They also suggest because I've had nothing but problems with this particular WM, to request a cancellation on my authorization, so I can be free to see another doctor and get my insurance to cover. So the manager got me in later that day (4th visit). He examined my eyes again, then admitted he intentionally made my Rx stronger than it was supposed to be! This is coming from someone fresh out of optimology school and has a personality of a log. Then he changed the Rx on my chart and said they can send the glasses back corrected. By this time I had no peace about this and implied to him this could have ruined my right eye, which was still sore. I also told him I think it's best that I go to another doctor and he pretended as if I wasn't talking to him. He goes out to the tech and when I showed him my old Rx from my old eye doctor, he changed the Rx again on my chart! I realized this dr. has no clue what he's doing. I left those new glasses and told them I want to hear from the manager and I still want my authorization cancelled.
The manager calls after the weekend to say she can only cancel authorization on the glasses. I knew better. I called my ins. co. and told them what she said. The ins. co. called/told her that because I signed for both auth. on eye exam and glasses, the manager has to give me canceling on both and refund me on both! She had to change her tune. So on my 5th and final visit, I went and got my copay back and what I paid for the glasses after ins paid. They hadn't even filed my ins. yet, thank God. So yes, I am going back to my old eye doctor which is out of my way but who cares now. I will never go back to a Wal-Mart Vision Ctr, except to buy nose pads and those cool magnetic sunglasses clips. That's the only thing they got going. Will not surprise me if one day Wal-Mart decides to get rid of these Vision Ctrs. I'm considering complaining to the state board of medical examiners too. Wal-Mart needs to watch it when it comes to healthcare.

Approximately 3 years ago, I purchased eye glasses from the Corbin Wal-Mart Vision Center. First the technician decided that I didn't need what was on the prescription, so he just made me reading glasses. I could not see out of them; he then proceeded to process my glasses by the prescription. After I got my glasses, the lens were too large for the frame and would pop out occasionally. After a few adjustments on the technician's (same technician) part, I gave up and continued to wear the glasses with the lens popping out.
In December '07, I took another prescription to Wal-Mart Vision Center in Corbin, Kentucky--this time for contacts. My contacts were a special order, therefore it took approximately two weeks to get them, I did not need them right away because I was still wearing my trials. However, when I did start wearing them, I could not see. After a few days and pounding headaches, I finally figured out that one of them had been ordered wrong. After calling the vision center 3-4 times, they finally said they made a mistake and would re-order, that my contacts would be in the following Tuesday (1 week). I am now 1 week and half and still do not have my contacts. By the way, my contacts cost me $318.00 for a 6-month supply. I am wearing the old glasses that the lens pops out of that are too old for my eyes, so I am still having the headaches daily. This is my last experience with Wal-Mart Vision Center.

In October 2005 I purchased a pair of No-line bifocal glasses and frames from the Fridley store. I wanted a pair of frames that would endure heavy use and not break. I paid for the exam, the glasses and the frames which came to about $390. The glasses took two weeks to come in, and when I went in to pick them up, I couldn't see out of the glasses. Everything was blurry, and the bifocals were totally useless. I complained to the manager, who checked the prescription for me, and told me it was such a dramatic change that it would take me a couple of days for me to adjust to the changes. I trusted her and went home. Well, the glasses never adjusted, and I couldn't see. I went back to Walmart the next week and spoke with the manager who told me she would send the glasses back. She remeasured them for me, and sent them back.
Now Walmart guarantees their eyewear prescriptions; what they don't guarantee is that it will be timely. After 90 days, they called me to tell me the glasses were in. I came by the next day (now January 2006) to pick them up. When I put them on, I could see distance fine, but the bifocals were totally out of focus. I told the technician about it, and she once again checked the prescription, and found nothing wrong. She said the glasses were just mis-adjusted and proceeded to move the nose pieces up. She told me I had pressed them out too far. Now I've been wearing glasses for over 30 years, and have never pressed the nose pieces out too far before.
After a week, I returned to the store, and they told me they had done everything they could do, and that was it. I couldn't read out of the bifocal part, and since I was in Grad School and needed to read, the glasses were nearly useless. The Walmart technician suggested I purchase a set of reading glasses since the bifocal settings were between those the optometrist could adjust. She obviously must have taken me for an idiot, not well-educated. I couldn't believe her response. Because I was in school, I couldn't afford another pair so I purchased the reading glasses. I used the glasses and the reading glasses for about 3 months, when the frame broke. I returned to the store, and a different manager was in charge now and told me they couldn't help me since I had already used my warranty replacement, and they had done everything possible to help me. The frame was supposed to be nearly indestructible, and yet it broke at the nose piece. She suggested I go to a nearby eye vision store which had better equipment to fix the problem. I did, and have never been back to Walmart. The prices were better, and the service has been nothing short of tremendous.

I purchased Freshlook color contacts from the store that were defective. The contacts were so bad that I could not even see out through them when I put them into my eyes. There was no prescription for them, there could not have been a problem with being given the wrong merchandise. When I called the company to complain, a walmart employee by the name of Diane told me that I would need to go back to my Doctor because Walmart has never had this problem before and it was their policy not to take back a box of opened contacts. When I asked for a manager, I was told that there was no manager on duty and that there was nothing that could be done because there was no manager until the next day. I called another Walmart vision center in another state, just to see what they policy was for returning merchandise. I was told that there would not be a problem and to bring the merchandise in. I don't know why I had such a problem with the this store and this situation. Walmart should not hire employees that don't understand the importance of good customer service. I asked if they could repair it and the answer I got was WE DON'T KEEP SPARE PARTS. HA HA I HAD TO GO BACK AGAIN ABOUT THE OTHER EAR PIECE AND WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND AGAIN.
Last night I called WalMart and asked what they could poissibly do because I had only had the glasses six months and paid over $400.00 for them. Bring them in in the AM and we will help you. Well, I took them in this AM and was told my warranty on the frames had expired and there was nothing they could do. They could have fixed or replaced them when I took them in the first time since they were evidently defective. If it had only been a screw coming out I would have fixed it myself. They told me today that I should have been given a paper explaining the warranty when I bought my glasses but I guess they overlooked that little fact as well. I am very frustrated and will never shop at Wal Mart Vision Center agin and will make sure everyone I know knows how they treated me and how they do not stand behind their products. Maybe some of ther folks can afford $400 or more for glasses more than once a year but I can't and Being in the retail business, if someone working for me was as uncaring as all the peole I have dealt with at this vision center, I assume I would soon be out of business.
I will hve to have another eye exam and buy more glasses which will cost me at least $400-$450.00. I also have bad headaches and have a lot of trouble doing my job because I cannot see correctly.

My husband did not want me to go to the Vision center here because he had a bad feeling about them. I wish I had listened because I just threw my money down the drain.
My daughter is on her last pair of contacts and they should have been thrown away 2 weeks ago. Her glasses, which are for back-up, are not good enough for seeing the board at school. The eye doctor had felt they were still good enough for emergency use but they are not intended for full time wear. I know if she has to wear them a whole day she will suffer headaches. When I went home I did not need to wear the glasses I took there because they were just reading glasses and I only wore them at night to read in bed the rest of the time I wore magnifying glasses.
After a few days of attempting to use these glasses at night to read I could not figure out why my eye sight seemed to be so off. I thought maybe it was because I was either too tired or the lighting in my room was bad. No it was because when they took the lenses out at Wal-Mart they put the lenses in the wrong way, they had put the right lens in the left side.
So, back I went and they corrected it. This caused a wastes of time for me because I am a nurse and I work closes to 65 hour weeks. Then I went up to Wal-Mart again on Oct 13 to pick up the new lenses and waited for them to be put in and out the woman comes and tells me the lenses don't fit the frames and I will have to wait another week. During my visit at the store the Mgr ignored me for 15 minutes, made fun of me by mimicking my voice to the other employees while I was standing there and turned her back on me repeatedly during our conversation.I have read the other reports on Walmart Vision Centers and it sounds as if they have a problem.
The consequences are that I'm out $400 if they won't fix them and it looks like this will be another recurring problem.

I purchased my 8 year old son's glasses at the vision center of Walmart. I was told that the lenses would need to be scratch resistant and also polycarbonate lenses because that is what they required on all their children's glasses. I purchased them and paid for them, and within 6 weeks, his glasses were so scrtatched that he couldn't see out of them very well. I called and talked to one of the associates at the center, and told them the situation, and he said that he would talk to his manager and see what they could do, because the warranty only lasted 30 days.
I was informed after they consulted the manager that they would replace the lenses. When I took them in to have them measured and also tightened, the manager informed me that the scratches on the lenses looked like scratches from being dropped, and that they could not replace them. I told her that one of the associates in her store had told me that they would replace them, she said that they would not replace them! They say they will stand behind their product, and they don't! The glasses have fallen apart now. So I am faced with paying for another pair of glasses.

I went into Walmart Vision on Wednesday 1/11/2005. After finding glasses i liked a woman who was very helpful bagan taking my order. I had my prescription with me. She said it would normally take 5-7 days, and when I said that was unacceptable and went to leave she spoke to someone who I presume was a manager and said they would put a rush on them and have them Friday or Saturday the 13th or 14th. I said this would be fine and gave them a deposit.
When I called Saturday because I heard nothing, I was told they would be in Monday the 16th. On Monday when I stopped in I was tols they were not in and it would be Wednesday. When i complained the manager Steve came out and said they never tell people less than seven days and after gettin very upset I walked away and left. On Wednesday when I again stopped in I was told they wouldn't be in until the 30th. I then insisted on my money back and let them know again I was very unhappy with the consistant lies from everyone from the salesperson to and including Steve the manager. I understand now why this particular vision center has had so many problems, I went somewhere else and had my glasses the next day.
The reputation of this center is much deserved, and as a member of the chamber of commerce and an active local member I will be sure that everyone I know realizes how poor the service at this store is. My profession requires me to drive and I needed these glasses for this, I therefore lost several days work and needed to inconvenience my daughter to drive me back and forth.

I went to Walmart Vision Center in Fair Lakes Shopping Center, Fairfax, Virginia for examination and purchase of contact lens. I was charged for examination and a fee for special fitting. I did ask what this special fitting charge was for and was told it was for fitting of contacts (which incidentially, I thought would be part of the regular examination fee. I was given sample contacts.. one set of mono vision to try for a few days ... and then another set of the same perscription as my glasses.
After the initial sample period.. I told the receptionist that I wanted to order the contacts. She said that would be fine and would make the order. On that particular visit, I again questioned the fee for the special fitting... since no one that I know had had this charge added to their visits for contacts. As time went by.. I never heard anything from Walmart.. almost 2 months went by.. when approximately 3 calls to the store asking if my contacts were in. After the fourth call, I was told that I had to come into the store to order the contacts. I made the trip there.. 38 Plus miles round trip.. and after much confusion.. I ordered contacts.. TWO sets.. one in clear and another in Pacific Blue.
I received a call in about 1 1/2 weeks notifying the contacts were in. I made the trip to the store to pick up the contacts.. which are incidentially not inexpensive. I wore the Pacific Blue contacts for one day, when the right eye one broke in half. I called Brenda to notify what happened. Since she had remembered me and all the confusion in the beginning of my visits and the ordering, she said no problem I will place the order and call you when they come in. Before she called me, I received another call from Walmart advising that my sample contacts were in. I explained, that I has already received my contacts and what would samples do for me at this time.
My eye was extremely irriated from having had the broken contact, and I had to make a doctor visit to Dr. Scott B, Centreville, Virginia , who perscribed antiobiotic drops, for which I had to pay 38.00 above what my hospitalization charged. I received a call approximately 1 1/2 weeks advising that the new contact for the right eye was in for pickup. I made a trip to the store Saturday 19 November... another 38 plus miles. When I got to the desk I was told that I could not have the replacement contact unless I could show proof of purchase or bring the broken contact back. I was flabbergasted at this treatment and did speak to Dr. Cho, and he explained that he is separate from the vision center.
I was treated like I was there to STEAL something.. a single contact lense.. in my perscripton from Walmart Vision Center. How ridiculiou!!! I am VERY disappointed, after spending 400.00 plus total for visit and contacts with Walmart Vision Center... and certainly deserve an appology.

I purchaced a pair of glasses at Walmart several months ago and the coating that is supposed to keep the glare off your eyes is peeling away. I took the glasses into the store to show them what was happening and they told me there was nothing I could do about it because they only make repairs for 60 days. I explained to them that they are not broken or scratched, but that they were obviously defective if the coating peels off. I have three children and a husband who also got glasses there this year and have spent over $1,000 in the vision center alone this year.
I asked to talk with a manager and they told me she was on the phone. I told them I would wait for her. After fifty minutes, the manager was still not off the phone! I had to pick up my child so had to leave. I later called the center and was told that I would have to come in on another day when the manager was there. The employees had told me she was on the phone while I waited for 50 minutes, and I'm not even sure she was even there! Needless to say, we will stop getting our glasses at Walmart after this. We've been loyal eyecare customers of theirs for the past eight years and this means nothing to them!
Due to the fact that I cannot see out of the glasses that continue to peel every time I clean them, I am forced to go to another eyecare place and get another eye exam within a six month period. I am out $368.00 for the first pair and will have to invest an equal amount for a new pair plus $65.00 for an eye exam. I will have to drive with the defective glasses until I can come up with an extra $500 to get new ones.

In May I bought glasses from Walmart Vision Center. In September the lenses split like a spiderweb I took them back and was told that the warranty was only for the frames and not for the lenses and would not be replaced. I just think Walmart should stand behind their product.
I will be responsible for replacement cost if they don't replace them and right now I can't afford it because my house burned in June.
