I purchased eyeglasses on 11/07/08, paid in full. I have worn them and they broke a few weeks ago. I brought them back to the store and was told that it should not have happened due to the metal they were made from - titanium steel. I received a message that the frames were no longer available, then was told when I arrived at the store that the warranty was only good for 60 days and that I would have to buy another pair of glasses. The pair that broke were $348.00 total. Not sure how much the new ones will cost. I feel that the glasses should have lasted longer than 5 1/2 months. If the glasses had not broken, I would not have to put out any more money. I have not ever had a pair of glasses only last a few months. The manager, a woman, was very rude and only offered a 10% discount which was increased to 20% as I was ready to leave. I will not shop there again

I scheduled an appointment on the 23rd of March 2009 to have my eyes checked and to get new glasses. Today is now the 22nd of April 2009, and I still have not received my glasses. I have called the Vision Center three times and stopped in once to find out where my glasses were. When I called, they kept me on hold while they did the follow up. I'm glad I don't have to pay extra for long distance calling. Why didn't the Vision Center follow up once they were made aware of the situation? This is poor customer service and I will not be returning to this Vision Center. I also will let everyone I know about the terrible experience this has been.

I went in for a contact lens exam or fitting on 02/27/09. The whole purpose for this visit was to get prescription color contact lenses. By the end of my exam, Dr.** finally convinced me to get clear contacts instead of color lenses because they turned out to be a better buy. I ended up paying a total of $324.39. This included a contact lens exam and 2 boxes of clear contact lenses (I have astigmatism so it can get pretty pricey). I was advised that due to the fact that these were especially made lenses, it could take up from 7 to 10 business days to get these in.

After two weeks, I got a call from one of the associates to notify me that my lenses were in, for which I asked if it would be okay for my husband to pick them up since I had been getting off late from work and they were closed by the time I would get there. She replied there shouldn't be a problem with that. I ended up getting off early from work, so I decided to pick them up myself. By then it had already been a 3-4 days. When I got to the Vision Center, I was helped by the manager at this location. She doubted that somebody had called to notify me of my order arriving when they were still waiting on a trial pair that they needed to see on me before they released my lenses for which I had already paid for. By this time I asked about changing my order to color contacts, because that's what I wanted in the first place for which they were a lot more expensive. Dr. ** replied by saying that it would be an additional $30.00 fee because the eye exam was based on clear lenses and not color, uh-how could that be if I had told him since the beginning I wanted color lenses? Plus, when you are checking out and placing your order, they ask you again what you want to get. He was not making sense at all.

So I asked him, if I was obligated to purchase my lenses there in order to get my prescription? He answered no. But, he would not release my prescription until he'd seen me in a trial pair. The problem was there was no trial pair for the color ones, only the clear ones. “So if I was not obligated to buy them here, why couldn’t you give me my prescription for which I fully paid for?” His response was that he could not release my prescription until he saw me in my trials. There were no trials in the color lenses I needed, so wasn't that making me purchase one pair of color lenses ($400) so he could see me in them so he can release my prescription? So I was being obligated to purchase my lenses there! After a long and exhausting discussion, I told him I would try on the clear trials (the ones they were waiting on) because I desperately needed lenses right away. They said they'd call me when they'd get them in.

Almost two weeks passed by the time they called me notifying me of the trials arriving. I went in on Sunday April 5th. An associate, Jose **, (really polite) told me that Dr. ** needed to be there to see me in my trials and then have me come back in week for a follow-up. I was trying not to get upset. Why would he need to see me in them? I understood about the week follow up, but why would he have to be there to give me my trials? I left and came back during the week, Thursday to be exact. It turned out he's only there Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays! I finally gave up and I asked the associate that was there at the moment to give me my money back! She gave me a refund for the contact lenses but not my exam.

I paid for a service, in this case a contact lens exam, but I didn't get my prescription. All I got was a prescription for glasses! I never went in for glasses! In that case I could've walked in and paid for an eye exam which is $20.00 less than a contact lens exam. I am looking for a full refund for not receiving the services I paid for. It's been 7 weeks and I am with no lenses nor prescription to buy them elsewhere and $85.00 short and not to mention, the frustration I feel at this time. I have never gone through so much difficulty to get my prescription, but this will be the last time I ever go to a Walmart Vision Center ever! The people there are misleading customers and giving out the wrong information. I was told this Dr. has had several complaints already and he's only been there not so long. I can imagine a lot more coming.

My daughter gets her glasses prescription there. She doesn't see their eye doctor. She just gets her frames there because they are more affordable. When I took her to her yearly eye exam, the eye doctor informed me that Walmart got the left and right eye mixed up. She was 4 and has worn those glasses for a year. She is extremely farsighted in her left eye, so bad that it's almost turned into a lazy eye.

I ordered a set of contacts (Focus Day & Nights), before I left for Mexico in Nov. 2009. They did not arrive until after I had already departed for Mexico. I just returned 4/1/2009, and opened the mail to find the contacts. I discarded all packing material and paperwork, thinking all was as ordered. Yesterday, when I went to open the boxes, I realized they were the wrong prescription. They should have been + and they are - correction. They are of no use to me and I don't know what to do now. I cannot prove where I bought them, or when exactly I placed the order. I need to exchange them for the proper correction. Can you help?

Two weeks ago, I made an appointment for my son, Justin, and myself for an eye test. They made Justin's last Thursday and mine on Good Friday. I asked if they could make both right after each other. They said they couldn't. I went on Thursday for Justin's. There weren't anyone else to get theirs done. But Friday, they had 5 other people getting their eyes tested the same time as me. Then the guy named Dana did the paperwork on Justin's glasses. He forgot to charge us 12 dollars for drops put in Justin's eyes for the test. That guy was very slow at doing the paperwork. He wanted to BS, I told him to just work on the paperwork.

Then I got a phone call 2 hours later, telling me to come back and pay the 12 dollars. I told them that I would pay it the next day. The eye doctor was kind of rude to me, because I had asked questions about Justin's eyes. He never wore glasses, and he just got them for reading. Then I had to get the same guy back again on Friday. My sister had another person help her with her glasses. She was done before I was. He was doing mine 10 minutes before the lady did my sister's plus he did some of my paperwork the night before. I was told that Justin's glasses weren't going to be in till Thursday & mine on Friday. They called at 7:30 last night that we could come over to get them.

I don't like to complain but I have been getting my glasses from Walmart. How rude the doctor and how that guy Dana was, I don't know if I want to go back again. I was talking to a farm lady that comes in town. She wasn't very happy with them this time. Her glasses got all scratched up in a month's time. And the people that adjusted her glasses were rude. I just wanted to know how the Walmart in Dubuque Vision Center isn't as good as it was.

I went to Walmart Vision Center to purchase new glasses on 3/27/09. Initially, I dealt with Fara. She was very disinterested. After providing me with my options and the costs involved, I made a quick call to get approval for purchase (a relative was buying the glasses for me since I am currently unemployed). She walked off while I was on the phone. She never came back, ever! I don't know if she clocked out, went to lunch... I never saw her again, even on subsequent visits. I asked for assistance from the other employee there (David). He was much more friendly and courteous. I placed my order - one pair of sunglasses using my own frames and one pair of computer glasses with purchased frames. I had asked for polarized lenses in the sunglasses with AR coat on the inside surface of the lens. I was told that was (I forget his exact words) ridiculous, redundant, a waste of money? At any rate, I've had that in my sunglasses for years - doctors' order.

The sunglasses were due April 2nd and the others April 7th. I got a call April 1st from Ora stating that there had been a problem with the sunglasses and I needed to bring my frames back in to be retraced. They only discovered a problem the day before I was supposed to have them? I made the trip back and I was told that "it happens" and that the new delivery date was April 7th - same as the other pair. At least that would save me a trip although they did say that reorders are usually rushed (great - rush and make more mistakes!). I got another call on April 5th from David. My computer glasses were in but there was "a problem with the prescription." What problem? The axis on the right lens was 10 degrees off (For those who aren't familiar with astigmatism, that would be worse than not wearing glasses at all)! It was another reorder, another rush.

I called late in the afternoon of the 7th to see if my sunglasses were in. Ora said they had just arrived. I went down to pick them up. I told them I wanted to save my old lenses (Good thing, I did). Ora put them in (David was around but somewhat busy). They didn't look right. The color was notably lighter than my prior ones (polarized grey) and they looked cloudy, for lack of a better description - sort of like cheap window tint that's about to bubble. I said something. Both of them pooh-poohed me. I put them on and tried to look around to make sure the Rx was okay, etc. Things looked sort of murky. I had my more recent pair (I was using frames from a prior Rx, keeping the more recent one as a backup) inside and went back and forth, trying to decide what was wrong. They told me everything was fine and that I needed to wear the new ones exclusively for at least a week - my eyes needed to adjust to the new Rx.

I'm sorry, but that's bunk. My Rx is not so drastic, nor is the change in Rx so vast that I can't see as soon as I put them on (If that were the case, how would a doctor be able to do the, "Better one, or two" bit?) I constantly go back and forth between my two most recent pairs of sunglasses with no problem. I always keep old glasses around - a pair in every room (My main problem is astigmatism and I hate wearing glasses - I use them mostly for driving, watching TV, and working at the computer - anything involving text). This is just a pat answer by those in the retail world who don't really know what they're doing and can't offer up a viable explanation for a problem (Did I mention I have a degree in physics and am familiar with optics?).

They noticed that both pairs of my old sunglasses had the AR coat on the inside of the lenses and that sparked a heated discussion. They both insisted that it was counterproductive. Polarization cuts out light and AR lets in more light, they said. So, they would cancel each other out. That made no sense. I told them the doctor was the one who told me to do it. I guess they thought the doctor knew less than them - we're talking an optometrist and an ophthalmologist! I finally gave up and left. I'd try the new glasses, but I didn't have high hopes. Sure enough, I got outside and immediately remembered why I wanted the AR coating - back glare. I could not see with the new glasses, and it had nothing to do with the Rx. I took them back the next day. Susie was the only one there. I had taken a print-out about the use of AR coat with sunglasses containing information about back glare.

David and Ora were not around to give it to. Susie could not have been more disinterested. I told her to cancel the order on my other glasses. She called the lab to make sure they hadn't been shipped yet. The reason she gave the lab for the cancellation was "no reason - the customer just wants to cancel". There were plenty of reasons - lack of professionalism, several errors already. I got my refund. I know Walmart isn't the first place people think of for glasses, but I have gotten several prescriptions over the years from Walmarts in other states and had no problems - quality glasses at a good price. I won't be going back. I don't know if it's a different lab or if things have just deteriorated over the last couple of years. The staff at this Walmart (Tatum & Bell Rd in Phoenix) is pathetic.

I purchased my first pair of eye glasses from the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center in 2006. I asked the person for advice on what were the most popular frames as they had a large selection. The lady was very helpful and we ended up ordering a pair of Zeiss frames with full rims and lenses with transitions. They seem to work fine and I was initially impressed with the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart's Vision Center. In 2007 after visiting my optometrist, I was given a new prescription for a stronger lens.

Well, I visited the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center and the lady who helped me out in 2006 was, of course, no longer working there. I ended up dealing with a man who I again asked for advice on frames as I thought he would know. Well, we settled on a rimless pair of eyeglasses with Nikon lenses and transitions to the tune of over $400. This person recommended these frames, he said they were very popular and they sold a lot of them so I believed they were the right choice.

They seemed fine and I immediately started wearing them. It was maybe 5 weeks later when they started to slip and would not stay at the correct place for them to even be 100% usable. The frames were bent. I then went back to the Vision Center and the same person who recommended them to me in the first place actually told me he would have not recommended this type of frame! He checked them and told me there was nothing wrong with them and blew me off as quick as he could. I was not sure what galaxy he was in that day but is was not this one!

Well, here is where this fiasco begins. This employee obviously does not know what he is doing in regards to recommending eyeglass frames or treating all customers the same regardless of the situation and he refuses to listen to his customers. And, frankly, I feel like as a customer I was misled and misrepresented by this Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center. Knowing these eyeglasses were bent, in lieu of causing a real scene with this employee of Walmart, I quietly left and went to my optometrist and asked them to check these glasses.

Well they did and the glasses were so out of adjustment that they asked me how I even saw clearly. So they straightened them out for me and for the first time since I purchased these glasses, I could actually see 100%. They also told me that these frames were too small in the first place. This type of rimless frames they would never recommend for my type of lenses. Therefore the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center employee had suggested the worse type of frames possible, knowing they would not last, apparently hoping I would come back again to be an annual victim of this grossly overrated Vision Center.

They blew me off, refused to acknowledge they were in fact bent and of course he was the only one there at the time as well so I had no witnesses. A few weeks later, the frames broke less than maybe 6 months after purchasing them. So it appears to me that I was set up by this Vision Center who sold me a cheap frame that they knew would not last, therefore causing me spend another $400 for a new pair.

Well that did not happen and never will. I am through being a victim of this overrated Gulf Shores Alabama Walmart! I spoke with the manager of the Vision Center at that time and explained my whole case to her and she was very helpful and apologized for this employee's actions. She actually ordered me a replacement pair and did not charge me which was very acceptable as I should not have had to pay another $400 in less than 12 months after the first pair, especially since I was jerked around by this place to begin with.

Well, in January of 2009, the replacement pair broke in half in the one place that is not repairable. So I now have to wear my original pair of Zeiss glasses as I simply am unable to shell out another $400 for glasses right now. I have been a victim of this Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center for the last time. I sincerely hope this employee is happy with himself as he has caused me now 2 months of having to use a pair from 2006 that is not even the correct prescription, numerous headaches over this mess as I, of course, am unable to come up with yet another $400.

This is the most outrageous mess I could imagine going through over eyeglasses. The real kicker is, of course, I have to pay the price over gross incompetence and very poor management (if any at all) at the very least. In all fairness, this complaint is not with the optometrist in any way, shape or form but only the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center's staff. I hear nothing but good feedback on the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart Vision Center's optometrist.

My main reason for posting this is to hopefully save someone else from having to go through this kind of consumer abuse, deception and lack of professionalism from a second-rated Vision Center who frankly should stick to selling pre-made sunglasses and lens cleaner at the very best, assuming they can even keep them in stock on a consistent basis. Walmart Vision Centers are extremely overrated and I would recommend to everyone to not ever use these people, especially the Gulf Shores, Alabama Walmart or its Vision Center. They are both very inefficient and frankly never have enough stock and apparently are unable to have more than one or two cashiers working at peak times. So my best advice is to never set foot in this Gulf Shores, Alabama's overrated Walmart. It is another national chain that comes to Baldwin County, Alabama and ends up like every other fly-by-night business in Baldwin County, Alabama - mismanaged, understocked, understaffed, overrated and the list goes on and on but to summarize it, a real joke!

My original experience was great. The warranty was posted on the walls for a 1 year guarantee of the glasses if they break. They told me there was a 60 day guarantee to make sure the prescription was okay and the glasses were working fine. And the folks there were courteous. I got in quickly. The doctor was kind. I did question going from a bifocal before at another doctor's office to a non-bifocal this time. With the economy being what it is, not having a job, living with friends, I wasn't able to afford my other doctor, and someone had recommended Wal-Mart. He said the exam showed I no longer needed bifocals and perhaps the other prescription was off due to me being on certain medicines at the previous time that can affect your vision. This seemed logical; I'm not a doctor, so I said okay.

My life is active with sports and family. I shared I needed a frame they would support that. I picked one out that was within a price that could be afforded with the help from my friends. When the glasses came in, they had ordered the wrong frame so they had me pick out a different one and reordered the frame since the one I ordered was a flexible frame and a little more costly, and this frame made the lenses cut different so the prescription was off as well. I came back a week later and picked up the new ones.

I could see a big difference in some things like shapes and sizes than before. However, there were certain things I still couldn't see like for distance or reading fine print. I told them that day I still couldn't even read the signs 10 feet away. They said it was a new prescription and give it two weeks. I said “But I can't see far off.” She stated "Sometimes your eyes just have to get used to them and relearn how to focus with the new prescription." Who am I to argue? I said okay and my friend and I left.

2 week time: I go back, still can't see and they go back to the doctor and come back out. The doctor never calls me back or talks with me in any way. The lady, who was different, this time said "The doctor said to give it a couple of weeks more." There was no sense in arguing when I wasn't getting any help and I thought, well they're the professionals. Again my friend and I left.

Week 3: my glasses broke. These were glasses with the frame type that the lady literally twisted and wrapped around her finger. They aren't supposed to break. But okay I sat on them so that's different than wrapping them around your finger. The hinge broke and the lenses popped out. I go back to Wal-Mart. While waiting I tried to wrap them around my finger just for kicks because I thought it was neat. I couldn't. I thought this strange. The lady came just then, saw me and asked what I was doing. I said the glasses broke so I am bringing them back since it is within your store’s 60 day policy and the 1 year warranty posted on the wall for the frames.

She asked me why I was twisting the frames. I told her I had seen her do it and just thought I'd try because it was neat. She said "Well you really shouldn't be doing that." I asked her why, since she was the one who had originally done it, and that I got the glasses because she showed me that she could do that. Meaning they should be able to do that so if they get twisted or contorted, they can just be put back in shape. She replied "Well, we know how to bend them." I bit my tongue and said fine.

I then asked her if she could fix the glasses. She said no one was there and that she would need to keep them and ask someone the next day. Again I bit my tongue. I said okay and left my glasses there. I go back to check on my glasses and they say. "I'm sorry, we can't fix these. You need to take them to C&B Optical to get them fixed." I was a bit more than a little irritated by now. I stated and pointed to the sign on the wall for the guarantee and nicely reminded her of the in store 60 day policy. She told me she couldn't help at that store; Wal-Mart doesn't fix them.

I decided okay, I can try to be fair. Part of my dilemma was that C&B Optical is actually my old eye doctor’s office. So I say to her, “Okay, can I leave them here and have you ship them there (only 20 minutes or less away), have them fix them, and ship them back for me? I don't want to go there because I came here to you from them.” She said "No, we don't do that sort of thing." Then I asked her if they just bill Wal-Mart for the fix. Do you have some sort of contract with them? I again reminded her of the 2 guarantees, and the fact that I still couldn't see! She responded to me by saying, "Mam, you broke them, accidentally or not, that is not our fault. It's up to you to get them fixed." By this time I was almost livid.

I then stated to her. "Here's the problem. I told you when I got the glasses I couldn't read fine print or see distantly. You told me to come back in two weeks - I did. You told me to come back two weeks later. I am here a week later with broken glasses because I have never been able to see out of them so I set them down beside me because it was actually easier to see without them and they were giving me a headache. If you folks had fixed them or helped me in the first place, they would have been on my face because I would be using them since they would be helpful." I then stated that I was within my 60 days for the in store guarantee. She said yes, but the doctor said last time to give it yet, another week before you can come back to be retested. I said "But I still can't see, the glasses have never helped. Now they are broken, you aren't honoring your policy. I can't afford to pay for them to get them fixed, to keep trying them for the week." She said "Well there's nothing I can do about that. We didn't break them."

Since reminding her of their policy numerous time wasn't helping, I asked her "So, then what do you suggest I do?" She stated, "Wear them broken and come back in the next week and we can at least get you a new prescription if the doctor says you need one. But if you want the lenses put in frames, you'll have to get yours fixed or buy a new set of frames from us." I was almost in tears by this time. I had a huge migraine (which is why I was trying to get a new pair of glasses in the first place and told the doctor that to start with. So this whole time I had continued to suffer the migraines because the prescription never helped.). I'm standing there nauseated from the migraine. I told her I couldn't afford that and I got my glasses here because of the warranties, but not that it is time to use the warranties you are trying to find loopholes not to honor it, when forget the warranties, I still can't see! You have yet to give me a prescription I can use.

I then proceeded to ask for my money back (minus the cost of the lenses, I would "eat" the cost of them. They were the least expensive thing anyways.). She said, "How do you expect to get your money back?" I stated that “I had paid for services not rendered. I had an eye exam that wasn't true and didn't work, so please refund that money. Then you created lenses from a faulty prescription that doesn't work. Neither of these are my fault. So please if you would just refund the money, I'll be out of your hair and you'll never see me again.”

She stated I hadn't fulfilled the 60 day time period and needed to come back the following week for another re-check. I reminded her I just wanted to be done. My head was hurting from the migraine and I needed the money to go somewhere else especially since someone else had donated the money for me to get the glasses in the first place. I share that I had never been told in all my years of wearing glasses to keep coming back and this was only the second time I'd had a faulty exam. The other time the doctor re-did it within a week.

Well this saga could go on and on and did. Finally, I was told when the doctor would see me, that the 60 days was over and I would now have to pay for another exam and new glasses, when I never got any glasses that worked to start with. So to this day, I am still without glasses and having migraines. I don't know what else to do, other than to write this letter to let people know so that they do not get hurt or taken advantage of.

Economic Consequences: I am a survivor of domestic violence. I have a restraining order on my past abuser. Many women know that paper just ticks off the abuser and doesn't stop them if they want to severely damage you. So some folks who found out have taken me in and we have become friends. They donated the money for me to get the glasses, since I couldn't get a job at the time due to still healing from the abuse. I was and still am having bad migraines. My friend are out some serious cash as my glasses cost over $200.00, most of that was the prescription and anti-glare that I needed to drive at night, and then the eye exam. All I wanted was for Wal-Mart to refund my money or honor their posted policies and 60 day guarantee. I realize complications arise. Just re-examine my eyes, or do what is necessary to remedy the problem. That is their guarantee.

Physical issues: I still have a pair of glasses I can't use, so my migraines are bad and keep me bed bound on some days. On other days, my friends have to drive me to interviews and meetings because it's too hard for me to see at night and even during the day. Sometimes the migraines get so bad I pass out or have to stop side the road in a hurry to throw up. Driving me around is economic hardship for my friends as the one who has to do the driving has work his ministry around my schedule and at times cancel ministry sessions to take me where I need to go which then causes emotional distress on the person who was supposed to meet with him. He and his wife have 3 children so she can't just up and leave them. One is barely a past infancy and the oldest is only 7.

I stopped applying for jobs because even in between interviews, I'd be in bed with a migraine and if I actually got the job, I would lose it because I had to call in too much. My migraines are up to almost daily now. It takes a while to get insurance and even then some companies don't offer it. We are trying to save up from what work I can get, as I ended up starting my own business that I can do even from bed if I have to, to get money for glasses. In the meanwhile, I'll just deal with the migraines not being able to drive on a regular basis and having my friends chauffeur me around.

I had a eye exam at a local Wal-Mart optical department. The so-called doctor was behind by several patients due to the extra time spent with an elderly lady. I felt the exam was rushed and unprofessional. My Wal-Mart glasses broke within two weeks. When I went to have them serviced the technician claimed it was just a stripped screw, which it was not, and simply put another screw in the glasses, which proceeded to fall out because the molded tabs which hold the screw were worn out. Wal-Mart refused to fix the glasses even though all Wal-Mart glasses are sold with 1 year guarantee (there's even signs on the walls saying this). I went to another eye doctor and had another exam and found my prescription was wrong. I also had them examine the glasses and they wrote a letter clearly saying they were broken. I did a chargeback against Wal-Mart for both the exam and the glasses.

This report included a detail report with photocopies and testimony from the other eye doctor. The Bank of Americacredit card denied the claim saying it was not Wal-Mart's fault as the glasses were guaranteed from another company. The letter said I had no right to appeal and the matter was closed. This is an absolute lie because the glasses are a Wal-Mart store brand only sold at Wal-Mart. I again went to the Wal-Mart store and told the same person that I now had testimony from another optician indicating that the glasses were broken and that my exam was wrong and that if I didn't get it fixed then we could go to court. This person told me they would look for another frame at another Wal-Mart store, which would take a couple days and that they would call me. They never called and after 2 weeks I stopped in and asked what going on and this same person now told me that the glasses were no longer made and that I could pick out another pair and they would adjust the bill.

When I was done I was told by this person I would have to pay $22.00 more for the difference in cost. Couple weeks later I stopped in Wal-Mart to see if my glasses were in and this time the previous jerk was not working. The person who helped me now told me I was due a $22.00 refund, not liable for $22.00 more. I had to pay for two exams because I had to go to another doctor. I also had to pay for another pair of glasses from the second doctor because the first used the wrong prescription and not the new one I gave Wal-Mart from the other doctor. Stay away from Wal-Mart optical - you get what you pay for.

I am writing with regard to the vision centers located two stores in the Bham Alabama area, the one located on John Hawkins Pkwy and the one located on Hwy 280. I originally visited the John Hawkins Pkwy location in Mar 08 for an eye exam and new contacts, which went relatively well and there are no complaints on that part. However when I returned at a later time to get additional contacts I was sold the wrong prescription, even after being very adamant with the young lady to be sure she gave me the correct one. I had two on file, one that was to be used in conjuction with reading glasses and one that would not require the reading glasses. I was very explicit that I wanted the one that did not require the glasses, which is not what I got. I returned again at a later time to again purchase additonal contacts and while I did manage to get the correct lenses this time my boxes were mis-marked. My right eye was marked as the left and the left as the right. Only after a couple of days of severe headaches due to eye strain did I realize what was wrong and switched them myself. After two failed visits I decided I would no longer purchase the contacts there and try the store on Hwy 280. I visited the 280 store on Mar 17th to purchase additional contacts only to wake up the following morning to find out they too were the wrong ones. I should be wearing a -2.50 in my left eye and was given a -3.50. Of course it being 6 am and the clinic not being open yet I had no choice but to wear it so that I would not have to miss work due to not being able to drive, etc. I work on the opposite end of town from the store so I am again suffering intense headache pain until I can make it back to the 280 area post work this evening and switch the lenses once again.

I clearly told Dr. Swaim the lenses I had been wearing for twelve years and even had empty boxes with me to be sure I got the correct Rx. She did the exam then wrote a script for another product that I was unfamiliar with and it's much more expensive than my regular contacts. I tried to get the prescription I needed before I left the office and Dr. Swaim announced to the entire waiting room that she will NOT write multiple scripts and this discussion was finished! I felt humiliated in front of strangers and my child. It is a very small waiting area. She was very unprofessional.
It will be cheaper for me to see another doctor and pay for another exam than to buy an annual supply of the expensive lenses that she prescribed. Nothing had changed with my vision- only the brand of contacts changed. This was my first and only visit to a Wal Mart vision center. I will never go back. The opposite side will start the shadows and blurriness. 4.5 to 5 ONLY...%$#%^?????!! 8 1/2 x 11 text is entirely out of the question. You got to be a 'bobble-head' to read pages. We re-checked the prescription, and it is correct. No, it is not correct. I can buy a pair of pop bottles on frames back in the store for $7.95. For $220, I get more than a 5 side-to-side focus range. A 5 side-to-side range before things 'blur' is NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Arkansas lens grinder's say-so is NOT the last word. My first visit I explained I need them for working on the computer/reading/night vision to reduce glare. They stated that once I got them I would never want to take them off. So many appts too many to count, 3 Dr's exams ,all different prescriptions/at least 3-4 different lenses. Repeated visits with blurred vision/eyes burning from Debbie and other techs telling me to keep trying them, that it would take a few weeks. Eyes burning to no avail, I stopped at their Central Square Vision Center.

After numerous trips there at between 2.70 to 3.20 a gallon for gas, a trainee placing lenses in wrong to finally getting a material that I did not feel I was either looking through a fog or a Kaleidoscope's scope, I stopped in to see if they could adjust them again as now I could see through them to read and computer, but felt like either I was looking through the line or a tunnel. Now it is 1/09 and I have no glasses at all. Upon my visit for the adjustment the tech broke the frame and I was told that they do not carry that frame any longer. So now lenses and frame would have to be replaced. I would have to start all over again. I was so disgusted I told her I might better get my money back. She stated that she would check into other frames and call me that evening which was Friday and it is now Monday. No phone call in sight. Not only by the time I get any result here I could be blind. I would at least have been offered restitution of some kind.

In February 2008, I used my local Walmart Optical department. While I received good care from the optometrist on duty, I have to complain about the quality of the glasses that I wound up getting. I have to agree with the lady that made the statement where the styles were geared for either the very young or the very old, and I'm 52. I have a very strong prescription and my lenses are very expensive. With that strength, I need to have wire frames because plastics are just too heavy on my face. I looked through the very limited selection that I had available to look at and I was able to find a pair of frames that I could live with. Little did I realize that the frame I used to try on was the frames that I wound up getting. In other words, I did not get a new pair of frames with my eye glass order.

At the time I bought these, I was very strapped for cash and I was trying to figure out which utility I could put off safely without fear of immediate termination in order to pay for a pair of glasses, I was thrilled to see my bill only come to $310. I have paid as much as $500 for a pair of glasses. However, imagine my dismay when I realized that the frames I received back with my order were the same frames that I had tried on at the store. I didn't know that Walmart Optical didn't give you a new pair of frames when you bought glasses. I have had the lenses wind up popping out of these horrible frames so many times I lost count.

One time, I was in the process of walking across the street to visit my Germantown Walmart store for something else and I got a piece of dirt blown in my eye. I removed my glasses to get the bit out and the left lens pops out right there onto the blacktop. I managed to get into the optical department without getting hit by a car since I almost literally cannot see without my glasses. The gal on duty in the optical department was very accommodating and she put the lens back in there and managed to get a permanent screw in.

However, now I began having problems with the right lens popping out all the time when I went to clean my glasses. This evening is the last straw. I was cleaning my glasses when the right lens popped out and the screw was still in place. I have not been able to get the lens to go back into the frame. I know I have been having problems with not being able to read properly with the way these frames are warped but I was hoping that I could avoid having to get another pair of glasses this year because I really don't have the money for it.

Not only that, I don't even have any recourse to complain to Walmart about it since they only give consumers a 30-day money-back guarantee. I'm going to have to go back over there tomorrow in the hopes that they will be able to fix these glasses up well enough that I can skate by until I can put aside another $300-$400 for a pair of glasses.

The reason for this complaint is to make consumers aware that you need to be very careful when getting eyewear at Walmart Optical Departments as you may very well suffer the same fate that I have if you buy your frames and lenses from them. As it is, I feel that eyewear is terribly overpriced for what it is. I really cannot see what can generate a price tag of $300 to $400 that I have paid over the years for a lousy pair of glasses. I suppose if you don't mind looking like a dweeb, or a teenybopper or like you're ready for the nursing home, you can get by with just any old cheap pair of frames, but if you want something that is tasteful you had better be prepared to pay for it and handsomely too.

At least in the other optical stores, you do not get sold the pair of frames that you tried on! They take the model number down and get you a whole new pair, one that hasn't been handled by who knows how many people and kids messing around with it, probably bending the pieces back and forth.

I just feel very used and abused with this. My eyewear is an extension of my body. I need them to see. Without them I cannot work, I cannot drive, I cannot cook or read nor even walk safely. Walmart has created a situation, albeit with my own permission I suppose, if you want to look at it that way, where I have put my eyes at risk by an inferior pair of frames. There is no way I hope to get any kind of monetary reparation for this foolish mistake of mine, but I do want to warn other consumers out there to be careful in Walmart Optical Departments.

For over 23 years I have had eye exams and this was my worst exam to date. My rating for Larry Hillman, OD is barely a 1 and here is why... My first visit with Larry Hillman, OD was for an eye exam with contacts. I was quoted a cost of 99.00 at the time of the appointment. I went through the standard prep tests with his assistant then Larry Hillman, OD examined my eyes, checked with the charts and with bright lights. The exam was a series of commands only, and if you answered with the wrong response he would say that is not the correct answer. I went through all the exercises with NO explanation of what he was doing. Then he proceeded to put some drops in my eyes and sent me to the waiting room. He did not ask me if I was by myself, and he didn't even tell me what the drops were for. After 45 minutes he had me come into his exam room and again examined my eyes with the bright lights. I told him I had never had this done and wanted to know what the drops were for. He just ignored me, it was like you were getting an exam but with no communication only commands. I received a sample pair of new contacts and was told that I would be able to see in about an hour or two and I had to wear sunglasses outside. Luckily my husband was with me so he could help me. The assistant made a follow-up visit for 1 week and then proceeded to charge me 139.00 instead of the quoted 99.00. The difference was for the eye drops exam that I didn't ask for. Follow-up Visit: Larry Hillman, OD asked me if I had my sample contacts on and I answered yes and I told him I felt we needed a correction; I was having a problem with each eye. I told him I could not see the computer screen when looking over someone's shoulder at about 3 ft. He became very abrupt and said the prescription was to read at 16 inches not at 3 feet. If I wanted a prescription to read at 3 feet he would give me one. Then while asking me to say SAME, BETTER or WORSE on each eye glass test, I said Brighter and he got very upset and said the answers are multiple choice only, Brighter was not an option. Then he said would I just take a prescription for my original lens I came in with and call it a day. I said how about I just get a refund and go somewhere where they actually care about the patient and treat them with respect. Even though I did not see any signs stating No Refunds, when I asked for a refund I was told they don't give refunds; then he gave me an increased prescription and handed it to me. I told him I wasn't going to except the prescription without a sample first. His assistant told me she would order the sample lenses. When I got home I called his office and asked again for a refund, his assistant said I could not have a refund but the doctor said I could pick up the sample lenses and he did not need to see me anymore.

I took my 5-year-old to the WalMart Vision Center for an eye exam. Unfortunately I was told he needed glasses. However, the physician and I (I guess he's a real physician and not just a Jack-Of-All-Trades WalMart employee) came to the conclusion that perhaps his vision was just a little under-developed and unless my son had problems (which he did not at the time), we would just have yearly exams to see if his vision was improving on its own. I left with this plan in mind.
About a week later, I noticed that my son probably should use the glasses for reading and I called to see about getting them. I spent a few times on the phone with them regarding the Rx. Finally, days later, a different "eye doctor" then called me and said, "the Rx is here and ready, just come in to get the glasses ordered." So, I went in the first time and they were busy, no big deal, we waited. Some girl (who was on the phone) finally "helped me" and after discussing with her that the Rx was supposed to be there, she said she couldn't find it in the system and then says, "I'll be right back." Again, they were busy, no big deal, and we waited some more. After trying on every pair of kiddie glasses they had on my son, I started to wonder if this chic was ever coming back. After 25 minutes, I said forget it and left thinking I'd come back another time when they weren't so busy. A few days later it wasn't busy and I went in. The girl who tried to help me had NO IDEA what she was doing and was saying, "I can't find the Rx." I then explained that a physician called me and saaaaaid, it was there! So, another woman comes over and proceeds to help. She tells me that the scripts are locked up and that she would just go ahead and get my insurance info, measure my son's face, and that I could come back and pay the 25.00 copay when I came back in "to get the glasses." Well, a week and a half goes by and no one calls to tell me the glasses are ready, so I go in again. This very same lady was like, "oh, the order was never placed, you have to pay first." OMG!!!!!!!! Okay, so why didn't you take my payment the night you measured his face, "oh, because we must have had a problem with your insurance." Are ya friggin kiddin me??? Okay, so what do we do now? Give me your number and I'll "investigate" and call you tomorrow. What a novelty! This very same lady had the nerve to call me a few minutes ago and say, "well, I see here that the glasses were not ordered because you didn't want to wait." I could not believe my ears and then gently cut up on her stating, "nice try, but let's lay blame where blame is due, and it's certainly not on me." I then explained the WHOLE situation again and she put me on hold only to tell me she would "investigate more" and call me back. UPDATE: She just called and said, "well the doctor wasn't here the last time you were in and we set the order aside waiting for him to give us the paper script…ha!!! Imagine that. So it wasn't due to MY IMPATIENCE after all! Here's what WalMarts problem is, they DO NOT train their people properly before just throwing them in a department where this person obviously does not belong. The one girl who had no idea what she was doing, I have seen her in other departments and every time I see her, she's not even looking at what she's doing, rather she's scanning the store for something – maybe a new man, a shoplifter, hell, maybe she's wanted by the FBI, I don't know, but what I do know is she has her head up her butt when she needs to be paying attention to what she's doing. Also, they apparently teach their people to blame EVERYONE AND ANYONE other than themselves for their mistakes. I shop at WalMart a lot, but let me tell ya, a Super Target just opened up and is about the same distance in the other direction...I think I will go there from now on – even if they do cost more, it's worth it. You're going down, WalMart, one customer at a time………….

Dr.Korrie performed an eye exam that was short and unprofessional that lasted only a few minutes. then i went out into the vision center and it took 2 ladies about 35 minutes to decide where my bifocals line was supossed to be in my frames. then, they told me i would have to go to the more expensive lens to get the glasses to work. After about 45 minutes, they seemed to think they got everything right and i was charged $303.00 and left. When i returned to get my glasses, the assistant who was supposed to be working had stepped out to do some shopping and i was told to come back in about 30 minutes. When i returned and put my glasses on, i was very surprised that they were very blurry and out of focus, expecially since i was told my prescription had not changed since my last appointment. The ladies told me that the glasses just needed to be adjusted, which they repeatedly did for about 30 minutes. The adjustments did not make me see any better at all, and i was finally told to just take them and wear them for a while. I refused , because i couldn't have even drove home in them without having an accident. I asked for a refund. I was given a refund for the glasses ,but was refused by DR.lalim a refund. She told me her time was valuable and she did not give refunds ever. I felt like she asked for refunds before.

I had an eye exam and purchased both contacts and eyeglasses from Walmart in March. I wear my contacts 99% of the time and use my eyeglasses in the evening shortly before I go to bed. About a week ago one of my ear pieces became very lose and when ever i moved my head the glasses would fall down my face. I stopped in the vision center and talked with a man who told me to bring them in and they would take a look at them. I returned about a week later and that same man was not there so I spoke with the girl at the desk. She told me that a spring had broke and that I would have to purchase new frames. I asked her how this could happen if I never wear them and she told me that I probably took them off my head to rough several times. I explained to her that I am 31 years old and I know how to properly take care of eye glasses and with them being worn so little this should have never happened. She told me there was nothing they would do for me since it was obvious that I had caused this to happen. I will never return to this vision center for and exam or for eye glasses. I have told everyone I know not to ever use them.

About 3 months ago, I thought I would go to walmart Vision Center because some friends told me they were less costly than a reg. eye doctor. I made the appt. and upon getting my eye exam, I was amazed that it was done so quickly, and with not near the testing I've had done at my reg. eye doctor. When I questioned this, the 'doctor' asured me with all the new technology, it was much quicker.
He then said my eye sight had changed a lot since my old glasses, and prescribed new glasses. After picking out frames, (which I thought were awfully expensive alone!), I went to a lady who said she was measuring me for the frames; and this too went very quickly. I then paid my deposit. A couple of weeks later, I was called to come pick up my glasses and pay the rest of the money for them. I paid first, and then was fitted with my new glasses. To being with, the frames were too large and didn't even fit my face. When she handed me a little card and asked me to read it, I couldn't. Then she told me to look out across the store and see how my vision was that way. When I looked, everything was blurry in the left eye! After some adjustments' of the frame, again I did the same 'vision tests' and again the same results. I was then told the lab made a mistake with the left lens and they would need to be sent back. And, also when I was sitting there, I overheard another customer telling the lady helping her: This is the third time I've brought these back, and they still don't turn dark when in the sunlight, and they don't fit right. (Was this my second clue?) A week later, I was again called that my glasses were in. She assured me there would be no extra charge for them having to redo my glasses. (Well! I should hope not!!!) Again, I had all the same results as before! The left lens was blurry. She told me they would have to again be returned to the lab. I told her No, I've wasted too much gas and time now, and I just want a refund. After some long problems with how to best refund my money, I got it and left. That very afternoon I received a phone call from Walmart stating that they should not have refunded me for the eye exam, as that was a separate thing, and they wanted me to come up immediately to refund the eye exam money to them. I told them I was not traveling 12 miles up there for that, as the cost of gas was nearly $4.00 a gal at that time. Two days later I was again contacted by Walmart for that refund, and I told them at this time, I was advised to not refund the eye exam money to them as the exam was not done properly, and also was not done to my satisfaction; and actually they should have refunded me for my gas for those two lost trips. I got a lot of static over this, but did not give them any refund of my money. TO date, they have not called me again about this. A month later, I went to my reg. eye doctor, and got a very thorough exam, where they found I did NOT need new glasses, as my vision had changed so slighlly from my previous visit and my glasses were fine, and they only had to do a slight adjustment to my frames. Also, they did a presssure test on my eyes, which I did not get at Walmart.

I have been getting my contacts from this location for over 12 years. But because of the distance from my home I have ordered elsewhere in the past. I have noticed in the past year since returning to this location in Cerritos, that the customer service at this Vision Center has deteriorated; NOT the Dr's office which goes by First Site. This is solely the service at Vision Center they have tremendously horrible customer service. I have called a couple of times before to order and have not only been told that I don't get the brand I need because it is not in their system, but have been rushed off the phone with an adamant attitude saying that I have to ask the doctor to write me a new Rx because I am obviously WRONG? I go back and forth and still get upset because they have NO customer service skills whatsoever. They talk over you or at the same time you are trying to get your words in. Why should I be treated as if I am asking for charity? I am handing them my money to provide me with a much needed service. Why must they have such POOR customer service skills? I had an eye exam at Walmart a little over a year ago for glasses and contacts. It took several tries to get the contacts right where I could see, and that is normal (first time for glasses or contacts, I am far sighted). The eyeglasses I could never see out of very well and after a few weeks, I noticed they looked scratched so I took them in again and was told that I must have scratched them. I normally wear my contact. Sometimes in the evening if I am reading I would wear my glasses, Maybe 2 to 3 times a week, and I took very good care of them, cleaned with a special eyeglass cleaning cloth which I showed the girls there and they approved. Well recently, I went to another eye Doctor and had an exam. Not only was the RX different but when he checked the lens, He told me that they are not scratched but the protective coating is coming off and they should be warranted 1 to 2 years. Walmart only warrants them for 30 days, and I was back there within 30 days. Now they will not offer me any type of solution. I've been back in the past year at least 15+ times.

I paid $120 for these frames and they literally fell apart within 4 months. First, the coating on the frames started peeling off and then the protective plastic on the bows came off. I went back to Wal-Mart and asked them what they would do about it. I was told there was a 60 day warranty and since that was over, they would do nothing. The technician said, "It's not so bad, mine are peeling too." I work in a professional office environment and need to look good. I cannot wear these hideous frames that are falling apart! I have been reading the complaints for walmart vision ctr. I have worked for 2 walmart vision centers & I have to say, I'm not at all surprised by all the complaints.

I agree with the customers when they say the associates were rude & grumpy. Some of my managers, in fact, were some of the worst when it came to customer service. AND, that is one of the main reasons we are there, right? We need to be able to inform the patient about the fitting of frames, contacts, what pair of glasses go best with their face and lens choice. These are only a few of the things we SHOULD keep in mind while assisting them. I have been embarrassed many many times while a fellow associate, even a manager, was completely rude to a customer. I always say drop your problems and personal life at the door. There are many different situations that I've read about here and I have come into contact with a lot of the same problems but, the associates should do the best they can to ensure these customers have a worry-free experience.

Patients and customers should not have to defend themselves like this. I don't know if other vision ctrs are like this, but both stores I've worked at have had extremely rude associates. Is there something that can be done about this? I don't feel it's right when I'm pre screening a patient, and they have to vent to me about how the other associates were so rude to them and they only want to deal with me from now on. Come on people... lets be nicer to our customers. Don't lie to them about their orders. This is their money and their vision we're dealing with here. Give them respect and understanding.

Sept. 27, 2008 I went to Walmart to have my daughters eyes examined. While I was waiting for my 10 year old, the two ladies that work there started discussing the recent presidential debate. They started out mild and they weren't talking that loud. So, I had to sit there the while waiting for my daughter and listen to them talk about the candidate I am voting for for President. I didn't say anything; my daughter came out and we started looking for her glasses. The girl that was helping us was very uncomfortable with the ladies discussion because she could see I was not happy about it.

We sat down to have her glasses fitted and the lady really started getting loud and boisterous. I turned around and told her that I would really rather they not discuss that right then. I turned around thinking the would at least tone it down since I had asked. Instead, she got louder. They talked the entire time my daughter we were in there, when the Doctor came out, he joined in. I felt as if I was being made fun of. It was so uncomfortable, I don't even want to go back in there to get my daughter's glasses. People shouldn't have to put up with that. She was clearly just being mean, and didn't care if I was offended or not.

I'll tell you what the damage was. I have been on medication all week for bacteria in my stomach. By the time I got out of that stupid store, my stomach was in knots. I didn't feel good anyway, I didn't need the added anxiety. The anxiety was really over the blatant disregard for the request I made to please not discuss that issue.

This means for over a month I was without my glass and making 70 mile round trips each time. 4 years ago I tried the Wal-Mart Vision Center again with an exam, buying frmaes and lenses. This tech, as well, ordered the wrong lenses so again I had to make three trips.

Aug 28, 2008 I tried one more time. The exam went fine and the ordering of lenses seem to go ok. On Wednesday the 3rd of September, 2008 I was called by the tech for her to say that I needed to come in within two days so they could take a trace of my frames days to hve my and if I did not come in within 2 days they would cancel my order. I took off work for the afternoon on the very same day she called and she traced my glasses. She also said that my lenses were made and all they had to do was cut them for the frame so it would be only a couple of days.

Over a week past so I called 24th of Sept. 2008. The assistant manager ssid that because I didn't come in my order was canceled. I drove to the Grants Pass, Oregon, Wal-Mart Vision Center that very same day to ask why when I did what I was to that the order had been canceled. The assistant manager actually declined discussing it, nor did he have a name tag on or would give me his name. He continued to say it was my fault. I asked for my refund. He wxplained it would be faster if the company mailed it to me and that if it went through my card it would take up to two weeks.

I had him electronically put it on my card due to the incompetancy on this Wal-Mart I did not trust a mailed refund. After he electronically put my card through my refund was credited to my accoount the next day. This is 3 really bad experiences I have had at the Grants Pass, Wl-Mart Vision Center. I will not give another chance.

I took off work each time I had to return for tech misorders. I had a longer wait to be with much needed new lenses and my work profession depends on visual.

When we were done, i was told i had to pay $238 out of pocket and since they have already placed the order, there is nothing I can do. I was expecting to pay more or less $100 for both. But I was stuck and just paid it.

But when we picked up the glasses, they just handed it to us. No one did the fitting or anything. My son's glasses were too big and kept falling out of his face so a couple of months later, the frame broke because it fell out of his face. then we were told they can't fix it - we'll have to buy a new frame. Now, I have new vision insurance through my own job so i broght him to Des moines Vision Center. My out of pocket was only $45 for him instead of $178. I put them in went to the check out where i was directed to order lenses and check out. I ordered 4 boxes of what I was given and pre payed (you have to). I left the store and all night was dizzy, light headed, sick to my stomach and headache, things didnt look right , like both eyes were not working together. I called and they booked me for a follow up, I told what was wrong and he handed me two more pair of contacts to try. At this time (2 days) they said the contacts I ordered were in, they ended up ordering the wrong contacts (their mistake) so they reordered. I went through 2 and a half weeks and 3 visits back all the while feeling sick , dizzy , headache each time i was given a different pair the last being one for astigmatizm that was a different prescription.

I was frustrated and still feeling and seeing off. Went to a eye specialist and did a new exam, guess what? the prescription was way off. Upon recieving the trial pair from the new doctor I was able to see and all physical symptoms went away. I have had that stigmatism now for sometime and it has never been a great problem for me to need the vortec lense.

I made an appoitment to Lens Crafters for another eye exam the day before I was due back to my third Walmart trip. It is truely like a miracle. I can see!! I had a great exam all the letters on the eye chart were made picture perfect clear for me to see. And there was still no mention or need for me to go into a more expensive vortec lense. In conclusion I did not say myself money. I lost $100.00 and two weeks of valuable vision time. I will never recommend or go back to Walmarts' vision center. Lesson learned.

As stated in my letter I have recently lost my job. I paid $100.00 for an exam to get contact and I have lost that. I had to go to another eye doctor and pay $120.00 for an exam not to mention my time of spending two weeks of not being able to see the world clearly.

On 4/16/08 my husband and I both had eye exams and ordered glasses from Wal-Mart Vision Center in Farmington. Once we had them and tried to wear them we realized we could not see well. My husband had such difficulty seeing he had to revert back to wearing his old glasses. I had gotten bifocal glasses plus sunglasses They talked me into getting poly coating on my sunglasses, which caused somewhat of a rainbow effect of bluish and orange colors. That in turn made it impossible for me to read the radio stations, info. in my dash, etc. My husband and I returned to the Vision Center and explained the problems we were having with our glasses. They agreed to do a reexam for my husband and admitted his eye exam the first time was NOT CORRECT. They made new lenses and he is still unable to see as he should!

As far as the problem I was having with my sunglasses they said that glasses which have the poly coating on them will do that! (They never told me that could happen when they talked me into getting the poly coating and paying extra for it. Then the first month with my bifocals I was still trying to get used to them and was still unable to see as I should when I bumped my glasses (frameless on the lower area) and the extremely thin ,flimsy plastic piece holding my lens in place popped into and went flying across the room!

I was SO frustrated with what my husband and I had experienced so far with our glasses I didn't go back. My husband and I live on a monthly income which is at Poverty Level and we took $996.76 out of our meager savings to pay for our glasses. I finally drove to St.Louis,Mo. (which is 100 miles away) to St. John's Hospital to their Eye Care Center for an eye exam and two new pairs of regular glasses/sunglases and have to dip into oour savings again. I learned from St. John's Mercy Eye Care that the prescription Wal-Mart Vision Center put me in was not a correct prescription AT ALL!

I strongly feel Wal-Mart Vision Center should have to return ALL our money.

I have worn focus night and day whichwa prescribed by the top teaching physician at OSU.

The docotr delibrately ignored my request but instead put in lenses that move, get blurry, full of protein deposits and do not correct my vision well. Technically, he may have a point but he disregards fuction. Now he tells me I need cataract surgery which is only hype. I want my money back for he has yet to fit me has has only given me a second rate exam at top dollar. I paid $113 for nothing.

My vision and perception has been compromised and I cannot seem to get anyone at Walmart to listen to me. The of course will say the doctor is always right but I have gone to other doctors who's assessment is diametrically opposed to the Walmart doctor. Furthermore the equipment there is unsanitary, the lenses I look through for the exam are coated with dust, eyelashes and other debris. This is a travesty.

They did his eye exam on a Tuesday and it is now about 8 business days later and they have yet to get his TRIAL pair of contacts in. They said they cannot even track them yet so it will be another few days.

I am so frustrated because he normally had his trial pair in about 3-4 business days at his former eye care center. They tell me all I can do is wait. On top of that, my husband was on his last pair of contacts. (Which he normally wears for one or two weeks at a time.) He had been wearing his last pair for almost 5 weeks due to the ridiculous length of time it has taken Wal Mart Vision Center to get in their pair, and now has an eye infection in his left eye. He wouldn't even be able to wear his contacts if they came in in the next couple days until his eye heals.

I recommend no one waste their time/money going to Walmart Vision Center. I went for my eye exam and the doctor perscribed bifocals. When I left, and started to drive (which is what I needed the perscription for)my vision was blurry. When I returned to Walmart to complain, not once but 3 times, I was told that I hold my head unnaturally high. There was nothing wrong with my prescription, or the placement of my no line bifocals.

To this day, my vision is blurry because my no line bifocal is set to high up in my glasses. If I drop my chin down, I can see. The only problem is that I do not want to hold my chin down while I drive. Walmart did nothing about this problem, even though I went to them, not only once but several times.

I recently took my 10 year old daughter to Walmart vision center for a vision checkup with the optometrist. Her checkup revealed that my daughter needed a new prescription and her current glasses would have to be replaced. My daughter picked out her new frames and we ordered her new glasses from the vision center that day. A few days later, maybe 3 or 4 days at the most, we got a call from the vision center saying her glasses were ready. We picked them up the same day.

When my daughter first put the glasses on while we were in the vision center, she immediately complained, saying the new glasses made her eyes hurt. She did not have this problem with her previous pair of glasses, so I asked the person at Walmart vision if this was normal, because it didn't seem normal to me. I was told that it was normal for your eyes to hurt for a couple of weeks after a new pair of glasses.

Since it still didn't seem right to me, I asked if they had checked the glasses to make sure the new lenses matched the new prescription and were correct. I was assured they had checked them. My daughter struggled with these new lenses for almost 3 weeks before we were able to bring her back in.

When the Walmart vision center technician examined her new glasses, we were informed that the prescription was incorrect and they would have to reorder new lenses. We are picking them up today, however, I am also bringing my daughter in to visit with the Optometrist on Saturday to make sure this latest set of lenses are, in fact, the correct prescription. This will be my first and last visit to Walmart vision center.

The consequences of their sloppy work ethic and failure to check my daughter's new prescription lenses, after they assured me they had, caused needless suffering on the part of my young daughter. She has suffered from headaches and has been complaining when she tries to read. They should be more responsible.

They asked if I had astigmatism and I said yes. They said they could correct it with contacts and would check for that in the exam. They give me contacts and she says she wants to see me in a week. I go pay and the bill is $50+. I freak out, because it wasn't in my budget. Working mom of 2 small kids. What am I going to do? I pay it and walk out very upset that I'm over $30 less than expected. My mistake - I didn't ask.

Well, I went home and still had a box of contacts and decided to use them up and cancelled my follow-up appt because I couldn't spend the extra money for contacts now. It's now May and my box of contacts are out and I call and say that I didn't do my follow-up because I couldn't afford anything at the time, but am ready to come in and do a follow up and buy contacts now. They tell me it's a $25 late fee for not showing up in January when they asked. I told them I cancelled the appt, but they didn't care. So now they are trying to sucker me out of another $25. I tell the doctor that I've been going to WalMart since I was 14 years old and now I'm 27. Do the math. I told them that they lost me as a patient and they said that they will not release my contact prescription to any doctor. Is that legal? If it cost me another $20 co-pay to go to another doctor and get a second eye exam, than it's $5 less than the late fee for the late follow-up appt. They are losing me forever as a patient. I will never go back there.

I brought my own designer frames in and asked if they could fit them with lenses. They said no problem. The cost would be $80 per lens and a $20 processing fee, for a total of $180. After I gave them my money it was nothing but trouble. The first week I got a call that the lenses had to be sent back due to quality issues. The second week I drove to pick them up only to find out that it was the wrong prescription. The next week I got a call that the lenses came in too big. Two weeks after that I was told that they were in, went down to pick them up, only to find that the lenses were full of debris and when one of the attendants cleaned them up they ended up scratching the lenses due to the poor lens cutting job.

By this time I had had it. I must have spent over $30 in gas driving back and forth across the county over the month and a half they had my frames. The manager's reasoning (Andrel) for giving me a refund was that she was having to eat all the costs on these lenses and it was not worth it to her. Never mind that NONE of this was my fault. The manager was more interested in the bottom line than customer satisfaction. So, I went in to return the lenses yet again and the manager was not in.

The vision attendant (Amanda) was extremely uncooperative and told me that she could not give me a refund because the manager was out to lunch and that I would have to wait for 30 minutes. I then asked her to call another manager to which she replied that another manager would not be able to help me. I then *insisted* that she call a manager to which she replied, I really don't understand what the problem is with the glasses. Ummm, do they *train* these people in customer service??? Once again, I insisted on speaking to a manager. She picked up the phone and told me that there was no other manager in.

So, I got up, walked down to customer service, and low and behold, there I found a manager!! Imagine that? A manager in a store! The manager was extremely sympathetic and issued me a refund of $160, to which I interjected that I paid $180. Amanda, the lazy, unhelpful attendant piped in that $20 was a non-refundable processing fee. To which I responded, for what? Are you saying that I should pay you for holding my frames for a month and a half and continually putting in defective lenses???

Thank goodness the kind manager was still there and promptly refunded me the additional $20. So, for all that hassle I lost $30 in gas, hours in time, gained a high degree of frustration, and got my $250 designer frames back with scratches and loose hinges which I am uncertain can be repaired. Everything they say about the Walmart Vision Center is true. They suck!!

I (ten years of age) had just gotten in a car accident with my two sisters (23 and 16 years old) and my niece (2 years old) around September and my glasses that were purchased from the vision center around August got mangled as well as my sister's that were purchased a week before mine. So both of us had to go back to the eye doctor to get our eyes checked and since my vision is really terrible I had to get a new prescription. I went to the Walmart Vision Center and I picked my frames and then my glasses got ordered.

About one week later my glasses were ready to get picked up. When I picked them up it was a few minutes before they were about to close and the lady was rushing me. I was going to buy more glass cleaner and a case but then she was trying to get me to just quickly get my glasses fitted and leave. When she finally did start to fit my glasses she didn't care anymore. We told her I was in an accident and had a head injury and just as I was leaving she pats me on my head slightly hard and says hope you feel better. I was really mad at her then because I think she did that purposely.

Since then and still now whenever I lean over the littlest bit, my glasses fall off my face onto the floor because the arms on my glasses are way above my ears and away from my head. Or I'll be talking and my glasses will slide off my nose. What was good was because she was rushing me I didn't buy the sunglasses, glasses cleaner and cloth, and case that I was going to get.

I went to the Vision Center at our local Walmart to be examined for contact lenses. I was examined and they placed my order for my trial lenses. About 1 1/2 weeks later they came in. They were great, except when I went to work, they were extremely sensitive to the air blowing from the vents and my eyes dried out so bad that everything became blurry. I went back to the store and explained this. The other optomitrist switched me to a different brand of lense, but he also strengthened my rx. So the second trials were ordered.

A little over a week later I called to see if they were in and was told no and that it usually takes 7-10 days. After 10 days I called again and they told me they were still not in and reassured me that they would call me. Well, one afternoon my husband and I were shopping in that Walmart and I just happened to stop by to check on my lenses. I found out that one of the lenses was backorderd and had to be reordered over a week later! No one called me to tell me that.

Well, when they finally came in, they were so strong I couldn't see out of them. I went back to the original optomitrist and told him that they other dr. had no reason to change my rx, but I did like the new brand of lenses. So, I told him I wanted my original rx but wanted to continue using the new brand. That was on 3/10/08. Again, they said it would be 7-10 days. So I waited patiently, and low and behold, they called me on 3/20 and left a message that my contact had come in.

I went to the store and found out that only one was in. When I looked at the order form, the right one was never ordered at all (the girl said that they had it all along but the optomitrist didn't see it on the shelf) and the left contact was never order until 3/17! She couldn't really answer any of my questions, but kept dancing around the problem. I demanded that they get me the correct lens. She called another store and she had them drop it off at our store.

I made another trip to my store, picked up the lens and went home. When I put the left lens in my eye, everything seemed very blurry. When I looked at the package it came in, it was the wrong rx! Now I have to go back a fourth (or maybe fifth) time to fix this problem. If this next pair come in wrong, what recourse do I have? Will they give me the $85 back that I paid for the examination?

I work in a doctor's office and need to be able to read the charts, medications, etc. I have really been struggling with my vision, trying to use my old glasses, which are outdated. I have also spent I don't know how many hours, not to mention the gasoline, making all these trips. I used to teach customer service to companies and believe me, Walmart has a long way to go before they even get close to offering good customer service.

I got vision insurance where I work and we have a supposedly good contract service with Wal-Mart. I also went to this nearest WM Vision Ctr., because my job is way across town from where I live, so it was for convenience's sake. That was a mistake. Last month, after my first visit (which was my eye exam), I picked up my bifocal glasses a week later (2nd visit) and the right lens was very weak. Turned out one of the techs. put down the wrong Rx# in the system. Another week, picked up glasses again (3rd visit). Now after only 4 hours, I can't see two feet out of the upper part and the reading part was too strong to the point my right eye strained, felt as if it was being pulled out of its socket and I got a bad headache.

I went back to my old glasses, called my insurance company and told them what happened. The co. said to call the manager to see the doctor again. They also suggest because I've had nothing but problems with this particular WM, to request a cancellation on my authorization, so I can be free to see another doctor and get my insurance to cover. So the manager got me in later that day (4th visit). He examined my eyes again, then admitted he intentionally made my Rx stronger than it was supposed to be! This is coming from someone fresh out of optimology school and has a personality of a log. Then he changed the Rx on my chart and said they can send the glasses back corrected. By this time I had no peace about this and implied to him this could have ruined my right eye, which was still sore. I also told him I think it's best that I go to another doctor and he pretended as if I wasn't talking to him. He goes out to the tech and when I showed him my old Rx from my old eye doctor, he changed the Rx again on my chart! I realized this dr. has no clue what he's doing. I left those new glasses and told them I want to hear from the manager and I still want my authorization cancelled.

The manager calls after the weekend to say she can only cancel authorization on the glasses. I knew better. I called my ins. co. and told them what she said. The ins. co. called/told her that because I signed for both auth. on eye exam and glasses, the manager has to give me canceling on both and refund me on both! She had to change her tune. So on my 5th and final visit, I went and got my copay back and what I paid for the glasses after ins paid. They hadn't even filed my ins. yet, thank God. So yes, I am going back to my old eye doctor which is out of my way but who cares now. I will never go back to a Wal-Mart Vision Ctr, except to buy nose pads and those cool magnetic sunglasses clips. That's the only thing they got going. Will not surprise me if one day Wal-Mart decides to get rid of these Vision Ctrs. I'm considering complaining to the state board of medical examiners too. Wal-Mart needs to watch it when it comes to healthcare.

Approximately 3 years ago, I purchased eye glasses from the Corbin Wal-Mart Vision Center. First the technician decided that I didn't need what was on the prescription, so he just made me reading glasses. I could not see out of them; he then proceeded to process my glasses by the prescription. After I got my glasses, the lens were too large for the frame and would pop out occasionally. After a few adjustments on the technician's (same technician) part, I gave up and continued to wear the glasses with the lens popping out.

In December '07, I took another prescription to Wal-Mart Vision Center in Corbin, Kentucky--this time for contacts. My contacts were a special order, therefore it took approximately two weeks to get them, I did not need them right away because I was still wearing my trials. However, when I did start wearing them, I could not see. After a few days and pounding headaches, I finally figured out that one of them had been ordered wrong. After calling the vision center 3-4 times, they finally said they made a mistake and would re-order, that my contacts would be in the following Tuesday (1 week). I am now 1 week and half and still do not have my contacts. By the way, my contacts cost me $318.00 for a 6-month supply. I am wearing the old glasses that the lens pops out of that are too old for my eyes, so I am still having the headaches daily. This is my last experience with Wal-Mart Vision Center.

In October 2005 I purchased a pair of No-line bifocal glasses and frames from the Fridley store. I wanted a pair of frames that would endure heavy use and not break. I paid for the exam, the glasses and the frames which came to about $390. The glasses took two weeks to come in, and when I went in to pick them up, I couldn't see out of the glasses. Everything was blurry, and the bifocals were totally useless. I complained to the manager, who checked the prescription for me, and told me it was such a dramatic change that it would take me a couple of days for me to adjust to the changes. I trusted her and went home. Well, the glasses never adjusted, and I couldn't see. I went back to Walmart the next week and spoke with the manager who told me she would send the glasses back. She remeasured them for me, and sent them back.

Now Walmart guarantees their eyewear prescriptions; what they don't guarantee is that it will be timely. After 90 days, they called me to tell me the glasses were in. I came by the next day (now January 2006) to pick them up. When I put them on, I could see distance fine, but the bifocals were totally out of focus. I told the technician about it, and she once again checked the prescription, and found nothing wrong. She said the glasses were just mis-adjusted and proceeded to move the nose pieces up. She told me I had pressed them out too far. Now I've been wearing glasses for over 30 years, and have never pressed the nose pieces out too far before.

After a week, I returned to the store, and they told me they had done everything they could do, and that was it. I couldn't read out of the bifocal part, and since I was in Grad School and needed to read, the glasses were nearly useless. The Walmart technician suggested I purchase a set of reading glasses since the bifocal settings were between those the optometrist could adjust. She obviously must have taken me for an idiot, not well-educated. I couldn't believe her response. Because I was in school, I couldn't afford another pair so I purchased the reading glasses. I used the glasses and the reading glasses for about 3 months, when the frame broke. I returned to the store, and a different manager was in charge now and told me they couldn't help me since I had already used my warranty replacement, and they had done everything possible to help me. The frame was supposed to be nearly indestructible, and yet it broke at the nose piece. She suggested I go to a nearby eye vision store which had better equipment to fix the problem. I did, and have never been back to Walmart. The prices were better, and the service has been nothing short of tremendous.

There was no prescription for them, there could not have been a problem with being given the wrong merchandise. When I called the company to complain, a walmart employee by the name of Diane told me that I would need to go back to my Doctor because Walmart has never had this problem before and it was their policy not to take back a box of opened contacts. When I asked for a manager, I was told that there was no manager on duty and that there was nothing that could be done because there was no manager until the next day. I called another Walmart vision center in another state, just to see what they policy was for returning merchandise. I was told that there would not be a problem and to bring the merchandise in. I don't know why I had such a problem with the this store and this situation. Walmart should not hire employees that don't understand the importance of good customer service. I asked if they could repair it and the answer I got was WE DON'T KEEP SPARE PARTS. HA HA I HAD TO GO BACK AGAIN ABOUT THE OTHER EAR PIECE AND WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND AGAIN.

Last night I called WalMart and asked what they could poissibly do because I had only had the glasses six months and paid over $400.00 for them. Bring them in in the AM and we will help you. Well, I took them in this AM and was told my warranty on the frames had expired and there was nothing they could do. They could have fixed or replaced them when I took them in the first time since they were evidently defective. If it had only been a screw coming out I would have fixed it myself. They told me today that I should have been given a paper explaining the warranty when I bought my glasses but I guess they overlooked that little fact as well. I am very frustrated and will never shop at Wal Mart Vision Center agin and will make sure everyone I know knows how they treated me and how they do not stand behind their products. Maybe some of ther folks can afford $400 or more for glasses more than once a year but I can't and Being in the retail business, if someone working for me was as uncaring as all the peole I have dealt with at this vision center, I assume I would soon be out of business.

I will hve to have another eye exam and buy more glasses which will cost me at least $400-$450.00. I also have bad headaches and have a lot of trouble doing my job because I cannot see correctly.

My daughter had an appointment on 11/10/07 for an exam so she could order more contacts. She was she would have her contacts in a week. We were going on Vacation over Thanksgiving and I kept checking with the eye center and they kept telling me they had not yet arrived. Today is 12/10/07 and I still have not heard anything. So I called and was told I'm sorry they are not here I will reorder them right away. Needless to say I was not a happy camper! I have never seen such BAD SERVICE IN ALL MY YEARS OF DEALING WITH WAL-MART! We moved here from Oregon this summer and it only took one trip to Wal-Mart in Pa to realize the service here is bad. We loved Wal-Mart in OR. and shopped there for everything. However, I find myself avoiding Wal-Mart in PA. at all costs. My husband did not want me to go to the Vision center here because he had a bad feeling about them. I wish I had listened because I just threw my money down the drain.

My daughter is on her last pair of contacts and they should have been thrown away 2 weeks ago. Her glasses, which are for back-up, are not good enough for seeing the board at school. The eye doctor had felt they were still good enough for emergency use but they are not intended for full time wear. I know if she has to wear them a whole day she will suffer headaches. What I would like more than anything is my money back and take my business to a REAL eye care center! Never again will I do business with Wal-Mart Vision center.

I went to the Vision center at this Wal-Mart on Nov 24 to have new progressive lenses put into my old frames. The frames were measured at that time and what ever eles that was needed to prepare them for the new lenses. I was told these lenses would be ready on or around Oct 3. When I went home I did not need to wear the glasses I took there because they were just reading glasses and I only wore them at night to read in bed the rest of the time I wore magnifying glasses.

After a few days of attempting to use these glasses at night to read I could not figure out why my eye sight seemed to be so off. I thought maybe it was because I was either too tired or the lighting in my room was bad. No it was because when they took the lenses out at Wal-Mart they put the lenses in the wrong way, they had put the right lens in the left side.

So, back I went and they corrected it. This caused a wastes of time for me because I am a nurse and I work closes to 65 hour weeks. Then I went up to Wal-Mart again on Oct 13 to pick up the new lenses and waited for them to be put in and out the woman comes and tells me the lenses don't fit the frames and I will have to wait another week. As she was doing more paper work I looked down at the tray and noticed a crack on the side of one of the lenses so she conviently covered that up.

We had the lens put in and tighted the screws, and 1 month later another lens popped out. This time the lens broke. I took them into Wal-mart and asked if they could do anything for me. I bought the glassed in Dec. of last year and they are 6 months old. They told me there was nothing they could do. I asked if I could buy just one lens, and they said they have no way of contacting the company and couldn't help me or do anything for me. So, not only are they selling a poorly made product. but they will not stand behind the product or be in contact with the company. Why would they sell me something they could not or would not stand behind? This product is still on the front displays of our store and still being sold.

I'm out $80 and have a store in my town that seems only to care about the sale, not the customer.

Nothing has been done as of yet. The employees keep telling me that I will have to buy another frame and lense all over again. I stated that I didn't think that it was fair being that I just bought a pair of $458 glasses. I just dont have money to throw away. The costumer care person also tried to adjust my eyeglasses when I first bought them, and they have never been properly fitted even from that point.

The eyeglasses have a crack on one of the lenses and a screw is missing from that same side. The glasses overall need to be tightened.

At the time I ordered them the person told me I would need to pay $294.00 for them which I did, and they would file the claim with Medicare which they sent in a paper claim thru the US Mail. However, Medicare changed the rules in their reporting of claims and Wal-Mart has not changed their method, which is supposed to be thru electronic media reporting. Until Wal-Mart updates their methods we senior citizens cannot get a reimbursement for a portion of what Medicare would pay.

Medicare sent notices to all providers in May 2006 advising them of the upcoming changes. In July 2006 Medicare sent out a notice saying on October l, 2006 they would not pay from papers claims, the claims MUST be sent electronically in order for senior citizens to get a reimbursement. I have spent countless hours trying to track all this down as well as the clerk at the Vision Center has submitted at least 5 or 6 claims for me.

I had the examination and purchased lenses for the frames I had recently purchased and sunglass frames and lenses for a total of $353.86.

I paid for this plus a $45.00 examination. When I went to pick up my new frames and lenses, I could not see through the prescription. My head begin to swim and I told her, There is something wrong with this prescription and it doesn't work for me. She said, I didn't leaave them on long enough. I told her I did not want them and to put my original prescription back into the frames. She checked with the Dr. and he said something about the left eye seeing better than the right and he could adjust them. I said No! I just wanted to go somewhere else.

I was accused of not letting them help me and make right the situation and becoming angry. I was not angry at first I was frustrated because they would not listen to me. I was told to come back on Monday to talk to the manager to get my refund. I went back this morning and she, too, indicated everything was my fault for not giving them a chance to rectify the problem.

I have worn glasses for fifty years and this is the first time I have ever had a problem with a prescription. I told her that. She said it happens all of the time. Well, it's has never happened to me and I feel if they can't get it right the first time, they can't get it right. She refused to refund my money for the lenses.

I have gotten my eye exams and glasses at Walmart for several years. I went back after about 3 weeks after I got them and told the manager that I could not see out of my bi-folcals, and not like I should with the reading glasses. These were my first no-line bi-focals. She said I needed to give it more time to adjust to them. I went back again several weeks later, the manager was not in, I talked to Michele, she worked and measured a little, and said maybe it is because I have to switch between my reading glasses and my bifocals that it is taking longer to adjust to them, to give it some more time.

I still could not see out of them, also not out of my reading glasses very well, I once again went to the manager, she sat in front of me looked at them, bent the ear pieces a little, and said she didn't know what else they could do. I have been back once more recently, and a lady who was filling in for a regular said I needed to come in the next day and speak with the manager.I didn't, she had already told me she didn't know anything else they could do. I feel as if I have wasted a whole lot of money, and time for nothing.I am disabled, and it is a hassle to just getthem and back. When I got these new glasses I had the ones I was wearing made into sun glasses, because of that I am having to wear glasses I got several years ago that have left my eyes badly, but I can still see out of them better than my new ones.Couldn't the optomitrist check the prescription in my new glasses, or as a last resort re-check my eyes, and shouldn't it be at no cost to me.

In November 2005 I purchased glases from Walmart; after a month they kept falling apart, I kept bringing them in for repair almost daily. I was told thay were so flimsy Walmart stopped carrying them. They were $300 glasses. I was told they were only warrantied for 60 days. I finally went to the Store Mgr. who got me a refund towards a new pair for $400, which I got in May.

It is now July and the tiny bolts that hold this pair together are coming off. I took them to Walmart to get a new nut put on the post and the Vision center Mgr started yelling at me telling me she already rebuilt one pair for me and she wasn't doing it again. I said all I needed was a nut for the bolt. I was told they didn't carry them and there was nothing they could do for me. I asked if they could call the lab where they are made. They agreed to try and call me if they could get the part. Of course -- No call back. During my visit at the store the Mgr ignored me for 15 minutes, made fun of me by mimicking my voice to the other employees while I was standing there and turned her back on me repeatedly during our conversation.I have read the other reports on Walmart Vision Centers and it sounds as if they have a problem.

The consequences are that I'm out $400 if they won't fix them and it looks like this will be another recurring problem.

I purchased them and paid for them, and within 6 weeks, his glasses were so scrtatched that he couldn't see out of them very well. I called and talked to one of the associates at the center, and told them the situation, and he said that he would talk to his manager and see what they could do, because the warranty only lasted 30 days.

I was informed after they consulted the manager that they would replace the lenses. When I took them in to have them measured and also tightened, the manager informed me that the scratches on the lenses looked like scratches from being dropped, and that they could not replace them. I told her that one of the associates in her store had told me that they would replace them, she said that they would not replace them! They say they will stand behind their product, and they don't! I said this would be fine and gave them a deposit.

When I called Saturday because I heard nothing, I was told they would be in Monday the 16th. On Monday when I stopped in I was tols they were not in and it would be Wednesday. When i complained the manager Steve came out and said they never tell people less than seven days and after gettin very upset I walked away and left. On Wednesday when I again stopped in I was told they wouldn't be in until the 30th. I then insisted on my money back and let them know again I was very unhappy with the consistant lies from everyone from the salesperson to and including Steve the manager. I understand now why this particular vision center has had so many problems, I went somewhere else and had my glasses the next day.

The reputation of this center is much deserved, and as a member of the chamber of commerce and an active local member I will be sure that everyone I know realizes how poor the service at this store is. I went to Walmart Vision Center in Fair Lakes Shopping Center, Fairfax, Virginia for examination and purchase of contact lens. I was charged for examination and a fee for special fitting. I did ask what this special fitting charge was for and was told it was for fitting of contacts (which incidentially, I thought would be part of the regular examination fee. I was given sample contacts.. one set of mono vision to try for a few days ... and then another set of the same perscription as my glasses.

After the initial sample period.. I told the receptionist that I wanted to order the contacts. She said that would be fine and would make the order. On that particular visit, I again questioned the fee for the special fitting... since no one that I know had had this charge added to their visits for contacts. As time went by.. I never heard anything from Walmart.. almost 2 months went by.. when approximately 3 calls to the store asking if my contacts were in. After the fourth call, I was told that I had to come into the store to order the contacts. I made the trip there.. 38 Plus miles round trip.. and after much confusion.. I ordered contacts.. TWO sets.. one in clear and another in Pacific Blue.

I received a call in about 1 1/2 weeks notifying the contacts were in. I made the trip to the store to pick up the contacts.. which are incidentially not inexpensive. I wore the Pacific Blue contacts for one day, when the right eye one broke in half. I called Brenda to notify what happened. Since she had remembered me and all the confusion in the beginning of my visits and the ordering, she said no problem I will place the order and call you when they come in. Before she called me, I received another call from Walmart advising that my sample contacts were in. I explained, that I has already received my contacts and what would samples do for me at this time.

My eye was extremely irriated from having had the broken contact, and I had to make a doctor visit to Dr. Scott B, Centreville, Virginia , who perscribed antiobiotic drops, for which I had to pay 38.00 above what my hospitalization charged. I received a call approximately 1 1/2 weeks advising that the new contact for the right eye was in for pickup. I made a trip to the store Saturday 19 November... another 38 plus miles. When I got to the desk I was told that I could not have the replacement contact unless I could show proof of purchase or bring the broken contact back. I was flabbergasted at this treatment and did speak to Dr. Cho, and he explained that he is separate from the vision center.

I was treated like I was there to STEAL something.. a single contact lense.. in my perscripton from Walmart Vision Center. How ridiculiou!!! I am VERY disappointed, after spending 400.00 plus total for visit and contacts with Walmart Vision Center... and certainly deserve an appology.

I explained to them that they are not broken or scratched, but that they were obviously defective if the coating peels off. I have three children and a husband who also got glasses there this year and have spent over $1,000 in the vision center alone this year.
