I called to make an appt with Wal-Mart vision center and notified them of my insurance. They said nothing about an additional fee for fitting of contacts, my insurance assured all was paid for. Had the exam for contacts. Dr fitted them and gave me a trial pair to wear with a follow up exam to be scheduled. When I went to check out the Dr flew out the door as it was past his time to leave I assume and the optician was to schedule my next appt. She then said I owed 65.00. I asked her how did I owe this fee when my insurance advised I had one exam a year, contacts or glasses and up to 125.00 paid for contacts all paid by insurance.

She claimed the 65.00 is a separate fee and it was to fit the contacts (which took the Dr all of 30 seconds to do). I told her I did not have 65.00 on me or at all to be honest and was never informed of this charge by either the insurance or Wal-Mart. Because it was close to 7:30pm my insurance was closed but she insisted this fee was correct and it was the Dr.'s own fee that the insurance doesn't tell the patient because they probably don't know about it. I became upset and said that THEY Wal-Mart NEVER told me about this over the phone or otherwise. The woman I was speaking with advised she did not know who scheduled me but it should have been told and was just like "Oh well." about it, "We need our money."

I again told them I did not have the money and asked what was I suppose to do now? The woman said you'll have to take out the trial pair of contacts you have in and give them back then. She said once you pay the 65.00 we will give them back to you. I was appalled and angry beyond belief. I took out the contacts and gave them to her and started to leave telling her I would contact my insurance about this and that someone is to blame but it is not me. I then went back to the vision center and said "Wait a minute here, you're billing my insurance and I have received NOTHING for it, not even a prescription?" The woman then said "Oh well. I can give you your prescription, hold on." She came back out from the back and then said the Dr had not filled it out so she could not give it to me yet.

I said "When can I get it then?" She said "After 1 pm the next business day." that I could come and pick it up. She then said "But it is just for the glasses portion of it." I said "Glasses portion? I didn't have a glasses exam." She said "The contact and glasses prescription was the same." Yet a few minutes before that she said I would have to pay for the contact portion of the prescription, but could have the glasses portion. I told her that "Someone here is lying and I want the prescription before I leave, today!" She again claimed it was the glasses part. I said those two exams are not the same and I did not have a glasses exam today. She tried to convince me they were the same prescription and that I did in fact have a glasses exam done.

Mind you the Dr NEVER once did anything with glasses, just contacts. I told her I wanted corporates number and she rudely said 1800- Walmart was the number. Extremely rude, non caring and could care less that I just paid with my insurance which is a once a year deal for vision and now have NOTHING to show for not even a prescription! I am disgusted and will contact my insurance tomorrow but need to know where to go from here. I am lost as to who to contact about this and feel I have been cheated and robbed! I didn't even receive a receipt for my visit either. Something isn't right.

I went to Wal-Mart Vision Center thinking that I would be saving money. They charged me only about $60 for the eye exam. The optometrist did a very quick examination, and I thought it went well. I ordered frames and lenses from Wal-Mart Vision Center. I actually ordered the Nikon Eyes lenses thinking that they would offer me clearer vision. Was I ever wrong! I previously had gotten glasses from a local place with Crizal lenses. In my opinion, the Crizal lenses are at least one million times better than the Nikon Eyes lenses!

In short, my Wal-Mart glasses were terrible! I immediately put my old glasses back on and could see better! I went back to Wal-Mart Vision Center and got a full refund for the frames and lenses. They wanted me to come back for another exam. I told them no! So, whatever you do, do not go to Wal-Mart Vision Center! You will be much happier with wherever you are going now!

For the second year I have had a problem with Bartow Walmart eye express. Year one the optometrist had to give me two exams to get the right rx and the staff measured my eyes wrong so it took more then a month to get my glasses. This year the same thing but doctor refused to re-exam refunded price of exam. Now I must fight with insurance to get my new glasses another month or more. Don't go to Bartow Walmart express.

Myself or my family will not be back to the vision center at Walmart in Suwanee. I've now been waiting for 2 hours just to pick up two pairs of glasses. Employees were unconcerned and unprofessional. Very, very unhappy. We will never be back. Not the way to spend a summer day for sure.

I went to this Walmart Vision Center for the first time because I had a good experience with one of their other locations a couple of years ago. The eye test went as expected. After picking up my glasses, there was a period required to get used to the very minor prescription change. In their defense, I chose to replace transition lenses with single vision. I attempted to contact them on the 28th day to let them know that I was uncomfortable with these lenses and preferred to go back with the progressive lenses.

I was able to get in touch with them on the 32nd day after purchase. When they returned my call a week later, I was informed that I would have to pay the full price of lenses in the amount of $176.00. It appears you only have a 30 day satisfaction warranty. The lenses don't seem to be high quality as your vision appears different depending which part of the lenses you look out of. I had to go back to my old glasses due to the nonstop headaches. Lesson learned - I'll go to a professional with a complete satisfaction warranty from now on.

After having waited 5 years to have my eyes examined and get a new prescription I was told to try Walmart Vision Center as they supposedly have the best prices. I don't have vision insurance so the price is a big deal to me. My prescription was for progressive lenses which I have never worn before. The Vision Center is open till 8pm and I work from 11-7:30 so I left work a bit early to get there at 7:30. The woman there (Carolyn **) was none too happy to help me, though I was fast to select frames, she kept repeating that they close at 8pm. I gave her my prescription and she struggled to mark the glasses for the lenses which took us to 8pm.

It took 10 days to get my new glasses. I wore them on and off for 4 months thinking I just needed to get used to wearing progressive lens, but they were making me dizzy so I took them back to Walmart to have them check the prescription. Almost a week later when I picked them up I was told they had the prescription correct, but the progression was off. They marked them wrong! I asked if this could be corrected. Yes to the tune of another $200+ as it was way past the 60 day trial. Ok, I could see if this was my mistake I would have to pay, but this was their mistake! Remember, I have never worn progressives before so I had no idea why my brain felt scrambled when I wore them.

Walmart suggested that my Ophthalmologist got the exam wrong! That I should go back to see the Dr., which I did, and they confirmed that the prescription was correct but the progression was way off, so they marked them correctly for me. I'm going back today and speak to a manager. Yes, it was over the 60 days but they made them wrong and I'm not paying for their mistake. I will never go back to Walmart again if this is not corrected. I need to have another pair of glasses made and this store will not get my business.

Went into Wal-Mart for contacts in March of 2015. Had trials for over a month trying to find what contacts fit my eyes and were comfortable. I received 2 pkgs of contacts that last 2 wks each pack that equals a whole month. Well when I finally went in and picked which ones I like she ordered the contacts for me. So now this is the end of April, now we're into May. I called and called to see if the order for the contacts came in and they never seem to come in the lady. Told me she would call me when they came in. It's July never heard from them so I decided to call to find out. She said "its past your 90 days when you were first seen in February so we will have to recharge you all over again." Doesn't sound right to me.

I ordered a pair of glasses 3 years ago from the Capilano location. Great service and great product. Aside from the obvious low-quality, I had them for years and was completely satisfied! Order a pair from Clareview, and had to send them back three times - once when the prescription was redone (during the 30 day satisfaction guarantee) and twice when the factory screwed up. The second time they made my lenses two different colours, and the manager was so rude and condescending, telling me that they did me a favour by re-making them at no cost when my prescription changed. They have a 30 day guarantee, it was no "favour."

I wanted a refund for the different coloured lenses, but they refused as it was past the 30 days since they were remade twice already. That was okay with me, but the lenses this time are such awful quality, I get motion sickness from the curvature and they were scratched within days even though I paid for anti-scratch. I am so sad, the last pair were great and I was treated like a customer... This time I was treated like an inconvenience and a burden. The clerk even said "Nope, we know your name NOW" after I asked if there was anything else they needed when I brought back the different coloured lenses. Just saddening.

Walmart would not fill the RX. I asked for less expensive lenses, Walmart said they only have one kind of lenses for $110.00. I kept pestering Walmart about their lenses. The worker in the vision store finally told me of another less expensive lenses. So, screw you Walmart. You'll be hearing from me!!! You lied to my insurance and me!

I never used Walmart Vision before, and thought I'll try since the price sounds reasonable and I been coming to this one for years. I paid everything (no insurance) so I am just there to pick up. When I went to pick up the two pairs of glasses today, I was standing the whole time before, during and after Michelle gave me the glasses. I did not say anything about it, and let it go. Later I noticed that other customers were sitting and had specialist put on for them, made sure the angles were correct etc. Because my prescription is high, I ordered the reading glasses and want the prescription to be lighter.

When I ordered I emphasized so many times that this is reading glasses, I will only use it at home etc. But the glasses I got, the prescription is not lighter. I cannot use it for outdoor either because it has no transition(I plan to use it at home, that's why I didn't order transition). In addition, I would choose a different frame if I were to use it for outdoor. It wouldn't be useful to use it for indoor because the prescription is not lighter. Michelle looked at me like the mistakes were my fault.

Unfortunately, because I paid and got the eye examination Walmart, I asked if I could look at my record on the written prescription. Michelle insisted that the record is for the doctor only. It wasn't until a lot of hassle back and forth, countless waiting and luck that I finally got to see the record. Since I do not understand some words and after all this, I understand that I am not allow to look at my record, I decided to take a picture, she immediately stopped me. I think the guy was the manager. He saw everything, didn't bother to do a thing.

After I found out the return policy, I return the glasses the same day. I did not have problem with the other glasses (as of now) because it belong to my husband. Even when I was returning, I saw the staff doing the return looked like she tried not to laugh. I have no explanation for that. I have had glasses for 25 years and have been to countless eyeglasses stores. I have never felt so insulted, disappointed and angry after leaving the glasses store. My husband and I both had our eye examinations, got glasses (I returned mine), paid in full and tried to be polite. We don't deserve this kind of treatment.

I purchased glasses at Walmart. Within a few months I noticed small cracks in the top of the lens. The lady was very nice and told me they would remake the glasses. Great!!! Well... within a few months the new glasses developed cracks in the top of the lens. Back to the store and again they remade the glasses. Okay... Well, in another few months guess what... Cracks in the top of the lens of the glasses. They were going to remake the glasses AGAIN. I talked to the manager and it was decided to choose another frame. But she would not warranty the new glasses as the year's guarantee was just about up. And guess what? Now these glasses have developed the cracks in the top of the lens. I have worn glasses since 2nd grade and often wear them 3 to 4 years. There is something very wrong when the lens keep having the same fault. I would love to know who to complain to!

I'm writing this on behalf of my fiance. She has been going to Wal-Mart Vision Center for years and for the most part has had a pleasant experience with the people there. The problem is they do not know what they are doing. Her prescription recently expired and just like every year she contacted them for a new eye exam. They were so busy they could not get her in for at least 2 weeks and they said you cannot just walk in. So she could not wait that long as she doesn't have the best vision. So she decided to go somewhere else, she chose someone that has had their own practice for years. Turns out my 23 old fiance has glaucoma... but not just a little bit.

She has already lost 65% of her vision. Not one time was it identified by the doctors at Wal-Mart during her yearly evaluation. She was told that this has been going on roughly 5 years and that it should have been identified about 3 years ago. So at this point she will either be on ridiculously expensive medication for the rest of her life or go through multiple surgeries in hopes that she will not be blind by the time she is 50 years old. I strongly advise that you choose someone more qualified. Wal-Mart Vision Centers have nice people. I've gone to some of her exams and they do seem knowledgeable and polite. However the negligence of the doctors is inexcusable and has potentially ruined her life.

Ms. ** and the doctor are now charging patients to come in for a separate visit to get a prescription for colored lenses after paying for prescriptions for plain lenses and glasses. If this is the normal pricing policy it is wrong. Same prescription - only issue is that the lens exists in my prescription made by a different manufacturer. As I have moved across the country, you would think a normal person would check with the doctor and the doctor would ok the same (exact) prescription! **'s attitude was absolutely infuriating, no further assistance, no apologies, just arguing without listening over the phone.

I had a prescription done at Walmart (Lancaster, OH), picked out some frames and picked them up a week later. I had dizziness and nausea for 30 days before I finally returned them. I think I was back and forth to Walmart some 6 times to get this straightened out. The problem was not the prescription - but the cheapest optical lab they send them out to. I then went to Eyemart Express - same prescription and had two pairs of glasses made for less than $54 and they were ready in an hour. No anti-glare nothing extra - and they were perfect. Walmart was not a no-hassle return. I was angry/upset, wrote a complaint letter to the manager and thankfully I got a full refund including the money paid for the prescription. Save time? Save money? She made me feel as though I was wasting her time. I was initially going to purchase (2) boxes of lenses. However, when she advised that they were $50 per box, I settled on one box. She said the price had gone "up". When I went on to try to find frames, with pricing questions, she had disappeared into the back area to avoid further being "bothered". I was calling for help to no avail, and decided to look around the corner. She ignored me completely and "Continued" to talk on her cell phone. My experience was great with the eye dr. and ladies when I brought my dad. So that made me switch dr. We ordered my dad frames and lenses. The next week we went to pick his up, and have my exam done. The previous week at another Wal-Mart a lady walking around handed me a brochure for Vision Center. The Nikon lenses was something I was interested in. so when we ordered them I had to ask for the Nikon. When I went to pay for them. I asked the lady what color transition she put. She said gray - but I preferred brown because my frames are bronze colored. I was not rude. She wasn't rude it was just something overlooked.

Needless to say I was excited to get my new transition Nikon lenses. Meantime my dad was complaining his nose was killing him. I looked and he had big gaps in his nose from the glasses. That’s when I realized a lighter lens was never offered him. I did not know to ask. I was aggravated because he was suffering with something that could have been prevented. She even made note he had a lot of script in one of his eyes. I only knew to ask because of my brochure. Well meantime dealing with his ordering and paying for more lenses for my dad I received my glasses.

They were not transition glasses. They were sunglasses, but they were Nikon lenses. At least I got to put them on for 20 seconds. So I was told they would be reordered. Then I receive a phone call to pay more. Which I was aggravated because I thought I just paid more for sunglasses than transition. Well they said they would take care of the difference of 30 dollars. Needless to say I ended off with Zeiss lenses gray transition. I am not complaining about the Zeiss lens. I was looking forward to experiencing the Nikon. I am upset about the gray tint. They offered to send it back. But to me twice is enough. But I hate to complain because the ladies were nothing but nice.

In April, I spent over $400 to receive a pair of progressive bifocal glasses. I was treated with the utmost courtesy and respect from the moment I walked in, also during the eye examination, and finally, to the actual purchasing of the glasses. It was my first time purchasing eyeglasses and the employees made the experience enjoyable. I picked up my glasses less than a week later. Let's just say that progressive bifocals are not for me. My vision isn't that bad. It's a very slight script, basically just making things "crisp and defined", like HD television. There was nothing wrong with these glasses. I admit it is me. I cannot tolerate having things blurry. There is only a small section of the lens that provides "clear vision", as is typical with these type of glasses and which was explained to me by, I'll call him "**", in advance. I was told that it takes time to adjust to this. Okay, fine.

I returned a week later to get glasses for my daughter. Again, everything went smooth... great people. ** waited on me again. While he was taking care of my daughter's order I explained to him that these glasses made me nauseous while I wore them. They actually made my vision worse and I dared not drive with them on. He told me it takes some people more time than others to adjust and that I should continue to wear them. I replied to ** that I would do that since I had paid $400 for them and did not want it to have been a waste of so much money. Not once did ** mention to me a return policy. I went back to the vision center a couple days later and once again ** waited on me. I told him that I wanted to order another pair of the exact same glasses but without bifocal progressive lenses. I just wanted regular lenses due to the fact I could not wear the ones I had just purchased.

As he waited on me I talked to him about how upsetting it was to have just wasted $400. Again, ** never mentioned a 60 day return policy. I had now just purchased a second set of glasses to replace the $400 ones I could not wear. On several occasions I tried wearing the progressive glasses because I was sick over wasting $400. The morning of the day my new glasses came in. I tried wearing those $400 glasses but still could not wear them without feeling sick. I placed them in my shirt pocket. When I bent over to flush my toilet the glasses slipped out, fell in the toilet and disappeared! I could not believe it. I had accepted the fact I had wasted $400 on these but I did not want to lose them like this. I knew they had to be trapped in the toilet and decided to deal with that later that night. It was at this point I received a call that my new glasses were in.

Walmart definitely has good timing. Again, ** waited on me and I told him what had happened to my glasses and that I would have to take my toilet apart since I could not leave them in there for obvious reasons. He still never mentioned return policies or warranties. So I was on my way wearing my new and much improved, and less expensive $175 glasses. I returned to the vision center later that week to pick up my daughter's glasses we had ordered. ** did not wait on me, however a very polite and friendly lady did. I had told her the unfortunate story of my $400 glasses and their incredible demise. This is what she replied to me: "Did you get them out of the toilet?" I said "yes but they are ruined." She replied "bring them in, they are under warranty." I could not believe my ears! So I had these $400 glasses I could not wear replaced with a new pair of $400 glasses I could not wear. I just figured at some point I might be able to use them.

Fast forward to this week which would be 50 days from my original purchase of those $400 glasses. My daughter had just lost the pair I had bought her after having them a couple weeks. Ugh! I looked for her receipt to see what I had paid for them and to see if there was any coverage for lost ones. It was then that I noticed the 60 day return policy on all glasses. I quickly found the receipt for those infamous $400 glasses and noticed I may still have 10 days left to get a refund. I went back there to order a replacement set of glasses for my daughter and yes, ** waited on me. As I order her glasses I told him how I noticed the 60 day return policy and that I'd like to return my $400 pair. He asked me if these were the pair I had flushed down the toilet and I replied they were not. Interesting he remembered that but cannot remember to mention return policies and warranties to me, in which he had several chances to do so.

Of course, and I figured this would happen, he said they could not be returned because the warranty had been used on them. I mentioned the fact that he never mentioned the return policy or warranty to me during my entire ordeal. He said he still could not refund my money due to their policy. I asked him to please provide me with that policy. I then asked him directly why he purposely did not tell me of the return policy back when I was having problems or the warranty when they were ruined in the toilet. He said "calm down, I'll refund your money." This guy, **, really is something. Yes, I did get my money back, but only because I was lucky. My real questions is: Why, **, did you want me to lose $400? Why? I do not know you and you do not know me. I am a hard working single father with my 2 young children living with me. You knew this through our conversations. I brought you repeat business and suggested to my family that they go there too.

I just do not understand you. I might understand if this was your own privately owned company and you would take a loss, but Walmart is a billion dollar enterprise. Why were you trying to prevent them from losing the $400 sale? Does Walmart look out for you like that? It shames me to see a fellow working man decide to take advantage of another hard working man over something you would derive no benefit from. **, your actions are inexcusable and you should be ashamed of yourself. Moral of this: I should have read all the paperwork I received with my original purchase. It clearly states the return and warranty policies. Through my own neglect, I still could have been out that $400. Read, read, read everything.

I got my prescription from Wal-Mart and then I wanted to get some glasses from Wal-Mart... I picked a display frame I liked and got my setup right away... one week later I was called to pick up my new glasses. I was excited because I paid almost 300 dollars for a frame with good Nikon lenses.. First time I tried on my glasses, the frame was crooked. The Sales rep went to go "fix" them, the glasses then fit very loose and so he did another adjustment.... the glasses fit snug now.

Later that day I went to work with a bad pain on my rear ear, I took it back the next day to get them adjusted and so they did... I left feeling better that the pain was gone... but realized the glasses were feeling funny. I set them down on the table and noticed that they were very crooked and one side of my frame was holding next to my head but the other side of the frame was loose. I went back AGAIN and they switched the frame out with a display frame.... and still the same issue... they came to me, telling me that it was my prescription. My left eye was a little different in prescription and it's not noticeable according to my eye doctor... I'm going to return these glasses and get my money back... This was disappointing... and if you read the other reviews you'll see that Wal-Mart sells nothing but crooked frames and display frames. I'm done.

My husband and I went in to a Colorado Walmart and had our exams done. Very nice eye-doctor. Then came time to befitted for frames and I picked the lowest price pair. The woman charged me twice that and when I mentioned it she said, "Oh, they're all different prices." Then she went on to charge me for each lens and each bi-focal. The price was totally not Roll-back or Walmart prices. And I will never ever buy my glasses from a Walmart again.

I went to Wal-Mart Vision center and ordered 2 pair of glasses. One pair at half off. $248 for one and $134 for the second pair for long distances. I went to pick them up. The long distance glasses were incorrect and I could not see. So I asked for a refund on the second pair. They said I would have to pay a second time for the glasses that were good. Even though they had my $400 for both. They said they could not refund unless I let them refund the entire amount for both in 2 weeks and they would hold the good ones until I came back and paid for the good ones when the refund came in the mail to me.

Does that make any sense? The second pair was supposed to be half off. But when they figured the new price I would have to pay later it was reduced. So I really did not get half off, but I am paying more if I kept both. The price for the good ones is $172? Tell me am I wrong for not being happy about this service? I paid $400 and got nothing and have no glasses and they told me they want me to promise to come back to pick up and pay for the good pair once they mail me a refund. I paid them for the glasses already.

I just found out today that my eyeglass prescription is only good for one year. Typically in the past, it has always been good for 2 years. I am 54 years old and my eyes haven't changed since I was 16. I finally find a pair of glasses I want to purchase and I am told I can't because my prescription expired last month. When I called to speak to the Optometrist, she stated some sort of new law requires this now if you wear contacts. I wear my glasses 90% of the time and I wasn't asking for more contacts, I was merely wanting to purchase another pair of glasses since I had finally found another frame I liked. I am very disappointed and angry that I will have to pay for another eye exam to purchase an additional pair of glasses 13 months after my last exam. I was told by another Walmart Vision employee that the expiration of the eyeglass prescription is at the discretion of the optometrist. This Walmart has forever lost my business.

This occurred in Winchester, VA. From the moment I stepped in to this office, the receptionist/assistant seemed curt and acted like I was an imposition. She did the glaucoma check, etc. and acted like it was my fault that the machine wouldn't line up properly. Treated me like a child. The exam itself with the doctor was much the same rude attitude. I tried to explain which lenses have not worked and why, as I have worn contacts for over 50 years. It made NO sense to me why he would REDUCE the RX from -8.50 to -7.00 and get upset when I could not see out of the trial lens right eye only. I removed BOTH lenses which made him VERY angry saying he only wanted me to remove the right. He then had to give me 2 new lenses to try and then again was disgusted, throwing the empty case down (like a 3 year old). Again, when they would not insert properly, it was somehow my fault - like I didn't know how.

This doctor and receptionist/assistant need an attitude adjustment or learn some people/customer service skills. After I left, and reviewed the entire experience I wish I had spoken up but they seemed in a BIG rush to get me out the door (it was not busy). By the way, he gave me the EXACT brand of lens that I said I was very unhappy with and did not think would work for me. I AM BEYOND ANGRY and do not even want to return to be refitted. MONEY WASTED. There is NO doubt these docs get percentages off of certain brands and DO NOT CARE if you want to switch. My feeling while I was there was this Doctor and Receptionist must think their "Wal-Mart" patients are just beneath them AND TREAT THEM AS SUCH AND THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE.

I went in for contacts and first of all I asked for my prescription sheet and they didn't give it to me because it had been over 6 months, but I still wanted my personal information and they refused me. Second of all I had issues with contact lens solution and I asked what they recommended for sensitive eyes and the gal said she couldn't help me because the doctor wasn't in and I needed to make an appointment. My husband and I went for an eye exam and glasses at Walmart in Safford, AZ. We have insurance. First thing they charge you to dilate your eyes, other place include it. When we went to pick our glasses they told us that insurance will pay up to $68 for our frames. Not a problem, I picked $68 frames my husband picked $48 frames. The only thing I asked for was transitions otherwise nothing other than basic glasses. My husband asked for bicarbonate and transitions, nothing else. Our bill was $500.

When we went to pick up the glasses we took our insurance information in with us and questioned why the bill was so high. She did not know she had the manager call us back on Monday. The manager's answer was that they have everyday low prices and they don't have to use the insurance coverage stated with my insurance. even though they are a provider for my insurance and besides it is only the cost of the transitions difference from the last pair of glasses I bought there. I tried to explain that the last pair of glasses I bought there were the most expensive frames in the store.

From there I called my insurance company. They stated that frames, cover up to the $68 (we were fine there), lenses covered 100%. Being how I only got transitions on my glasses the only additional charge should have been $65 for my co-pay. My husband's glass would be $65 for the transitions and $40 for the poly lenses. Total bill should have been $170 for glasses and $50 for exams (because of paying for dilation) for a total of $220.

I went back to the store and got a store manager to go to the vision center with me. I was told that they explained everything to us that because they have everyday low prices insurance does not apply! NOT. So now I am a liar. In what universe would I take everyday low price of $500 over $220? I asked them to break down the receipt because it does not explain what I paid for it just says frames and the costs, lenses $110 times four and a few other things. I was told we asked for everything we got and tat is the way it is. I came home and called the insurance again and now they had the claim for the glasses. Turns out we paid for scratch coating we did not ask for. I got poly lenses that I did not ask for.

Now I can take them back to the store but I am at their mercy waiting for them to reverse the insurance claim. It took them 3 weeks to put in a claim to get their money how long do I figure it will take them to reverse the claim? This is fraud plain and simple. Receipts that do not tell you what you are paying for. Things you did not ask for. And no one will be accountable. I have called the corporate office. I was told someone would call me back in three day. Well guess what. No one has called. And this is my time. All of the time I put in on the phone with the insurance company, going back to Walmart. Being told I'm a liar on top of it. Three days waiting for a phone call that never came. These have been some very costly glasses. And I pay for insurance for this?

I specifically asked her I'm in the thinnest lens to which she said "No, there is one thinner for 200 more." She said but my new glasses shouldn't be much if any thicker than my old. I picked up my glasses today. I looked at them and they are much thicker. I even pointed that out. They acted as if it was no big deal. To the person wearing them it is. I put them on and thought I will try them. I asked if they don't work can I bring them back and he said yes. He wasn't even going to adjust them! They slid right off my nose. I asked if he would and he said okay hesitantly and said "Let's pay the balance first." Then he had me pay the balance as I had something added to them.

So, I paid for them and then he adjusted them. Of course, they still slide down my nose as all he fixed was the arms of the glasses, which they aren't even adjusted right. The nose pieces weren't touched. Keep in mind, I have bifocals so with not being adjusted right, I can't read thru them! To make matters worse, the bottom part of one lens is blurry as well. So, after waiting a week I now have to take them back and have them done right or get my money back. Not to mention, the glasses ARE cheap made. If you have to wear them on a regular basis I am not sure I would recommend them. I think if Wal-mart is going to have a Vision Center maybe they need to provide better care and better training in this department.

Do you have any prescription glasses? Contacts? I answered yes glasses. He ask if I had with me. I said no. Then he proceeds to spend the next ten or so minutes explaining to me why I should be driving with them on. And he just keeps going with it, he then tries to end that conversation by saying, "You look like a hard-headed individual. I am in the wrong for driving without my glasses on." He finally starts the procedure, as we get to the "which one was better 3 or 4" part of the test. I say 3 is better than 4. He states well that was a piece of paper on the road you didn't see.....

I am dumbfounded at this point. We finish that test we get to his next test. Brings the machine to my eyes, then pulls it away and tells me that he knows police officers and if I was in a car accident, I could be charged with reckless manslaughter. At this point, I have had enough. I have to push his machine away from my face and ask him, "Have you had someone or something happen to you, with someone driving without their prescription?" I felt so uncomfortable at this point, I have to leave the room. I ask for managers, he says he doesn't have any.... After me and him yell at each other out in the office, a manager shows up! I proceed to tell them how uncomfortable I felt during his tests in which he was too busy lecturing me on my driving without glasses then performing his task at hand.

Never have I felt so out of place or harassed by a employer at his workplace. I was told regional manager would be in contact. But let's be honest, they never call you back. Imagine my shock and anger when I recently went online to reorder and found this info was a lie! I will never set foot in another Walmart Vision Center for any price. I also had an eye doctor appointment with a doctor that convinced me I needed a different prescription strength. I left the store with a supply of contacts that did not improve my vision. I realize now what a mistake it was to assume a discount store would offer a fair price for a similar product. It's tragic the the store manager is deceitful since his behavior likely sets the ugly tone for all of those working under his direction.

I went in on February 18 and paid for my glasses and asked the optometrist a question about my astigmatism and also my eye plugs, he knew nothing of the sort, nor about my astigmatism in my eye. Therefore I had also handed to him my eye exam I brought with me from fla since just moving here recently about a month. Well with that being said... He told me a week from today I WOULD have my glasses and explained to him it's hard for me to see at night and if could possible to expedite it and I would pay. No he just stared at me and replied "NO! We don't do that here."

Well today I made a phone and asked what time tomorrow I should pick them up because I work at night, he put me on hold after asking my name, said they haven't left the lab here yet and wasn't sure when they were. WOW. I was so angry and told him this is unacceptable and want my money back tomorrow and will go somewhere else where I will have better customer service and KNOW what they're doing and won't have to wait longer than a week! Ridiculous he did, why even apologize to me or say I'll do what I can. Just hung up on me. ;(

He will definitely hear me tomorrow when I go in. Never again will I go to these people!! As a customer with bad eyes should be an 800 and something should be done instead of leaving it all alone and think things will get better when it doesn't. When a customer like me now will cuss them out! I will call better business bureau and also whoever I need after tomorrow.

Yes I called the manufacturer and they said the same thing I said. They offered to give me free contacts and I happily accepted.

I call to tell her the great news and said I'll be returning the ones I purchased. Her response was "Why would you do that if they are giving you free one." (Shaking my head) "Yeah, Well Miss Manager lady they are no good to me so I need my money back." She said she'll have to call the DM and she'll get back to me. When she called back she said she'll give me my refund back once I bring in the remainder. So I did. I had four pair with me, the others (the ones that split) I threw away. She was including the one I had on. My vision is terrible and can't see two feet in front of me if I don't have on contacts or my glasses. I was so upset I left the store calling the corporate office. Even the young man I was complaining to was in disbelief. So now I'm waiting on the district manager's call to see what he has to say about his "manager. "

I took them back several times with the complaint that they made my eyes strain and water. They would check them and say they are fine, that my eyes needed to adjust. I have been dealing with this for two years, thinking it was my eyes! I took them back to the same store, all new people working. I explained what happened, they had no clue.

They called me later, tues the 3rd feb, and offered 25% off a new pair. I had already told them I purchased new a few days ago. I asked for money back, they refused. She has actually worn the glasses for a month and realized that the frame is too big and does not fit at all and she has tried all the frames in the store and nothing else is better, so she decides to return the glasses.

Today on 01/28/15 I call the vision center about the return and the lady worked there told me that it has passed the 60 days return policy that she has nothing can do to help. Apparently the 60 days begin from the day we pay, not the day we receive the glasses. This is so frustrating to my sister who is a nursing student and can't afford another $400 for another pair. I wish Walmart is as good as Target vision center which has a 90 days return policy that is reasonable. We are disappointed and will definitely never return to the center or recommend it to anyone.

A very nice gal answered and said no they are not in yet and if I would like she could make a call to the lab to check the status. I told her that was okay, I will wait a couple more days. Those couple of days passed and I was at the store so I thought I would check, still none. When I called a few days later a different gal answered told me they were not in. I asked her if she could call the lab to find out how much longer. She said she could not because they are not allowed to call them to check the status. I asked her why when I called before did another gal tell me she would check for me. She then said, "Well I guess I could call but I won't be told anything." I told her to forget it that it would just be wasting my time and her time. I called back the day after, still no glasses.

The gal who was snotty answered the phone again this time and of course remembers who I am. She told me that she called the lab yesterday when she got off the phone with me and there was a recording that said they are not allowed to check the status of orders. REALLY, what kind of business is that. When I asked her why would they have type of recording she said it is because the lab is so busy and they get hundreds of call for status. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Wal-Mart you might want to find another lab or complain to that lab, they need to hire more customer service people. I went to the Vision Center in Surprise, AZ. I thought the doctor and staff were polite and helpful. The exam was quite complete, and the vision in the lenses that he fit was fine. I was a bit dizzy from them at first, but that was due to depth perception issues that the glasses were, in part, correcting. They said my pair would be available in a week. Less than a week later, I received a call that they were ready. I went to pick them up and the vision was horrible. Everything was blurred, nothing in focus. I see considerably better without the glasses, and would never...ever...even consider wearing these. I explained this to the nice technician, and although she was competent and helpful, even checking to be sure the prescription was correct, the glasses were terrible.

In fairness, I do not know if this was an exam issue or a fabrication issue. The technician asked if I wanted to see the doctor again, and I did set up an appointment which I today cancelled. It has become a matter of time, money and trust. I decided to not devote any further time, money or trust at the Vision Center, as my initial experience in trying the glasses was so dismal. So, I am out the $185+...and will go elsewhere.

I've been wearing contacts for years without any troubles. My yearly contact exam was due and my boss had recently told me that she had just went and had a positive experience at Walmart Vision Center, and so I went. The doctors assistant asked me to remove my contacts, she provided solution and a case to put them in and performed several vision tests. Then I was asked to put my contacts back in and have the doctor view my eyes with my old contacts in. The doctor then advised me to throw my contacts in the trash because he would provide new contact lenses for me with a different prescription. I did as he instructed and he went through a short process of steps to determine my current vision prescription.

The doctor had me try on 5 different sets of left eye contact lenses and my vision was strained and blurry after trying each one. I noticed it immediately after the very first pair of contacts that he gave me. I told him something is wrong. I cannot see properly. We went through this same process with 5 different left eye contact lenses. I walked in the office wearing contacts and seeing fine. I left crying with blurred foggy vision in my left eye and was told by the dr. and staff to give it a week or two for my eyes to adjust.

It has been 20 days. I still have pain, blurred, foggy vision and cannot see in my left eye. I have missed work, (I have been unable to see), I've seen a new optometrist twice, who prescribed antibiotics for my eye). My left eyelid would not close correctly. I know that something happened to damage my eye at that appointment. I would not recommend Walmart Vision Center to anyone! I am terrified that I have permanent vision damage. I have not been able to return to work or see. I am looking for a personal injury attorney and plan to file a lawsuit. I am wondering if the solution that Walmart provided to rinse out and hold my original contacts was contaminated (remember I went through the process of taking them out and then putting them back in). Walmart also gave me the same solution to rinse out my eyes between trying on 5 different lenses), or if Walmart damaged my eye during the exam.

Has anyone else experienced a loss of vision after being examined at Walmart? On a side note the doctor wrote me a new strength prescription with different optic numbers than the prescription that I wore last year. As I was leaving (and crying) he took back the prescription and rewrote it for the exact same strength that I had walked in with (even after telling me during my exam that my prescription had changed). I have both sets of prescriptions that he wrote. How can a competent doctor write and give me 2 different active prescriptions with distinctly different vision numbers? Something went terribly wrong!

On Saturday morning realized that I needed to reorder my contacts. I called the Walmart vision center on Pavilion Blvd in Fayetteville Ga and talked with the optician. She said that she would have to be in the center for me to order and I could not order over the phone. I asked her "Is there anytime that you would be out of the center?" and she said "for lunch from 12-2:00." I came into the center about an hour and a half after speaking with this optician and she was on her 15 min break. The manager said that she would be right back because she had been going for quite some time. I waited another 15 minutes. She finally returns.

As she is walking in, I was asking the optometrist's assistant if she could give me the schedule for the opticians in that center so that I could schedule to come back another time. The optician made an approving facial expression and said that no one was getting her schedule. The manager proceeded to the back with the optician. They both came out and then asked the optician if she could give me the schedule for the opticians because after this wait, 8 had to leave. She responded, "I can wait on you on 15 minutes." I said, "no, I have to leave now. I have already waited too long." She said that I could come back anytime between 2 & 5. The manager joined our conversation saying the same thing. I kept saying "I just want the schedule of the opticians so that I can reschedule a time to come back." This exchange went back and forth a few times and then the manger said I can give their schedules. She proceeded to her bag and read to me the scheduled for the opticians up until Wednesday of the next week. She finally got it. They were so adamant about telling me about the optician on the clock that they were unable to hear me asking for a way to determine how I could reschedule me time to come back.

The point is, if contacts can only be ordered when an optician is present, the weekly schedule of the opticians should be posted so that customers can know when to plan their time to come and order contacts. Does this sound like too much to ask for to you? How else would anybody know when they could come in to see the optician? I left the center and thanked both the manager and optician. I know they both thought that I was making a scene but I could not make either of them understand the point of releasing information that would assist their customers to better plan and schedule appointments. ALL of these centers should be required to post the opticians' schedule every week! Well I have to go back another day and wait again!

I took my new prescription to Wal-Mart Vision Center here in Goodyear, AZ. Had never used Walmart before but my brother gets his at Wal-Mart in Virginia and he's 100% satisfied. Not so I. I selected my frames and paid for them plus the new lenses. After three weeks, I got a call to pick them up. When I looked at them, the left lens was at least 1/4 inch thick and that was for my really good eye! Well, I never! I had them re-done with a slightly different size and type of frame. Three weeks later, I got "the call" and found the delivered glasses were in the wrong frame. Gave them back to be redone and after four more weeks I picked up my new glasses.

Wore them for two weeks and found that I was now sun-blind and also night-blind. Took them back today. The manager said he had no explanation. I told him I'd not be wearing them because it was dangerous and that I would continue to wear my old glasses, now three years old, which do NOT make me sun blind. Both pairs have anti-reflective lenses so this shouldn't be a factor. I paid for these glasses ($267) three months ago and cannot wear them. What should I do?

To begin with, every time I have attempted to purchase glasses at Walmart Eye center in Roseburg, Oregon, I have been quoted the wrong price so always left without buying. My husband wanted to give them a final try and the first person we encountered was nice and personable and set up the "doctor's" appointment and sold us the 2 pairs of glasses...1 for distance and 1 for near sight. That was the end of the pleasant experience. (And we have never seen her there since.) Got the glasses and my husband couldn't see anything with the distance glasses and he said the readers were weird. He was told by "Char", an older grey haired woman that he would just have to get use to them because he had a big change in his prescription. He told her that he couldn't even attempt to drive home with them because they were so distorted. He did as instructed and still couldn't see with them so went back to the optometrist who re-examined him and said that no wonder he couldn't see, she had written down the wrong prescription.

So ordered new prescription and 10 days later picked them up. He still couldn't see out of them (some people can't see out of Poly Carbonate lenses which they had recommended to him). Also told her that he couldn't see with his readers so she adjusted the earpiece and told him to go home and use them and he would get used to them. He almost ran over a little girl in the parking lot because he couldn't see with the Poly Carbonate lenses. Returned the next day and this grey haired lady "Char" again was there. Told her that neither glasses worked and wanted to have them re-made with out Poly Carbonate in the distance glasses and to make the readers with his old prescription that he knew he could see out of. She disappeared to the back room with all 3 pairs, but we could still see her. For 10 minutes she left us sitting there waiting for her and all she was doing was cleaning her own glasses the whole time and talking to the "manager" whom we were told was the husband of the optometrist. (When his old readers were returned to him they were covered with "Chars" fingerprints.)

When she returned, I began to speak to her and was rudely told not to speak, as she only wanted to speak with my husband. I fumed for the few minutes that she again was quizzing my husband as to what were wrong with the glasses. As she walked away to the back room, again, I told her that we were fed up with our experience and just wanted our money refunded. She returned with the "manager" and refunded the money for the glasses but would not refund for the eye exam that I would have to take it up with the optometrist. I demanded the 3 copies of the prescriptions that they had done and was reluctantly given them. As I left to go speak to the optometrist, my husband said that the "manager" (husband of the optometrist) said that they would not give a refund unless I gave the prescriptions back to them.

When I encountered the optometrist, she refused to refund the money for the exam because she had spent a lot of time with my husband trying to get the right prescription. I told her that her prescription was wrong and that we were going to have to go to another optometrist to get the exam done again so we could get glasses that he could see with. She said that she only wrote down what my husband told her during the exam and either he told her wrong or it was the lab's fault but it wasn't her fault. When my husband asked her what the name of the lab was, she said she didn't know, maybe it is someone that Walmart uses. My consensus is that Walmart can only get low grade optometrist to work for them, as a good optometrist would be opening their own private office. According to the optometrist, she is under contract with Walmart to have her "store" there. The "manager" (her husband) does nothing but sit in his chair and glare at the customers as they come in.

I purchased new eyeglasses from Wal-Mart on July 20, 2014. I picked them up on July 25, 2014. I wore them home and realized that something was not quite right with the left lens. I cleaned them using the solution and lens cleaning cloth that I purchased with the glasses. I realized that the left lens was badly scratched. I am partially handicapped and I do not get out often so it wasn't until August 18, 2014 that I could take the glasses back. The associate at the store where I purchased the glasses was extremely rude and accused me of intentionally abusing them. She very grudgingly said she would use my warranty to order new lenses.

When I picked up the new lenses on August 23, 2014 the associate was again very rude to me and after handing me my glasses told me that my scratch-resistant coating was only good for one replacement and in her words, "We are through." I will never buy glasses there again and if these glasses get scratched I will make sure that anyone I know will stay away from Wal-Mart optical also. I have worked in retailing and was always told that the customer is always right. I get the impression that when I am the customer it doesn't apply to me.

I am so surprised at all the negative reviews! That's not my experience. I have ordered about 6 pair of glasses and have always been professionally treated at Walmart and when I did have a problem, which was my fault, they resolved it just as they say in their guarantee. As my prescription changed over the course of about 7 years I have replaced my computer glasses twice and my regular progressive, polycarbonite, no line bifocals about 3 times. I also bought a pair of Liberty sport glasses for cycling, which also are no line bifocal transitions. My only complaint with these is that the transition lenses darken any time I am outside, regardless of the light level. Evidently UV rays trigger that function. But that problem is a function of the company that makes transition lenses, not Walmart.

The Walmart optometrist always does a great job of testing my vision and the health of my eyes. When I do the eye test many times when he asks, "which is better?" I have to take my time and sometimes even ask him, "again please" and he is always patient with me. I also like the reminder I get, to come in for a new prescription. And they take care of using my insurance without my asking. The biggest benefit of Walmart Optical is that I always feel confident that if I have a problem with my glasses while traveling, I can easily find a Walmart store to solve it.

He was refused service because he has BOTH Medicare and a Medicare supplement plan through United Health Care. He then offered to pay cash, and was again refused service. This was a nightmare situation for a 73 year old person. We, elderly worry a great deal about finding providers of care and medical services, which is why we buy as much additional insurance as we can afford. In speaking with WalMart staff, I learned that they have been refusing to serve any person who has both public and private insurance, which makes no sense whatsoever. This would include veterans! It would include children! This cannot be lawful.

When we could not get through to Medicare to file a complaint, we contacted our Congresswoman for assistance, and her office is helping with filing a complaint. I did tell WalMart we would be filing a complaint with Medicare. We then got calls from WalMart suddenly offering us eyeglasses! We have purchased elsewhere. We are still deeply upset about what appears to be flat out discrimination. Many others were purchasing eyeglasses that day! Why couldn't we? How can we stop this practice? It just cannot be lawful!

Decided to try and save some money on purchasing a new set of glasses seeing independent optometrist tend to be higher priced. At first I was impressed with the selection and inexpensive cost of frames so I picked out a frame to buy. I had to approach the opticians for help. No one asked me. Sat down with an optician. He took some measurements and entered info in a computer. I had eye prescription from another optometrist to use. Paid for glasses and left. Glasses arrived in 5 days. Went to pick up and tried them on. Was like "Wow, I can't see out of these." I took them home to try and wear figuring my eyes needed to adjust but they never did.

As I inspected the glasses one could see that the lenses were poorly made. You could see a number on the lenses stating the prescription it was. The progressives in them are subpar to say the least. It was as if I was looking out of a fish bowl. I took them back. The optician became a bit offended when I said they were not right. She proceeded to check the prescription and said they were right. I said they can't be. I called my eye dr office and my prescription did not change for my nearsighted vision just in the progressive bifocal and I could not see out of them for distance and the progressive was not in the right spot. She knew I was not happy and did offer a refund to me. Walmart must purchase the cheapest materials for lenses. I felt like they were just all in Warehouse ready to use and flopped in to a pair of frames. I can see if you are on a budget but getting poorly made lenses could damage your eyes. So for many years, I've seen Walmart vision center (Shawano, Wi) for my vision needs. The staff is friendly, so I don't have any complaints in that regard. HOWEVER, the glasses they sell are cheap junk that they are unwilling to fix without the customer dishing out more moola to fix them.

The last 4 pairs of glasses I've had from there have had issues. The lenses in the glasses form huge cracks in them, one pair had this happen less than two weeks after getting them and the (pleasant but unhelpful) girl in the phone told me "sorry, you'll have to buy new lenses". Ummmm, thought there was a warranty???? They finally did replace the lenses, but this has happened numerous times to my glasses. I'm not overly rough on my glasses. I think these are the cheapest of the cheap. And even with insurance, I'm shocked at how much I have to pay for lenses and glasses.

I came in to get a new prescription and badly needed new pair of glasses. They strongly suggested I pay an additional fee for testing my peripheral vision. The results of that test induced the optician to refer me for additional testing at another office, and put a hold on my glasses pending that examination. That examination disclosed that the problem consisted of a droopy eyelid, and that I should proceed to get the glasses. I called vision center (they told me all I had to do was call them), as I had picked out frames (costing $50 less than my insurance would cover) and they replied that I had to come in for 'measurements' first.

Further inquiry resulted in their explanation that they had determined to sell me bifocals, which I had never mentioned and didn't want. When I made that clear, they said they would call me back with the new price. That figure was more than I'd ever paid without insurance. It was then explained that they had chosen their highest-priced specially coated thingamabob lenses, which I didn't want. Their rererecalculation cut the total amount owing in half. Then they requested my credit card number for payment. I was stunned. I have never in the 60 years I've worn glasses paid for them before trying them out, but I gave them the number.

I then did a little research on the company and found that most reported the same sort of runaround, etc, and that delivery time was often delayed for long periods and/or the glasses didn't work. I called them back and cancelled. I feel that the time, money and effort to do business with them was entirely wasted, and I'll now have to start all over again. The place is nothing more than the traditional used car lot. Just stay away. They always have something to say to try to shift away from any responsibility. They're there to sell, not to help people see.

This is in response to the person who thought it was wrong to pay an extra $20 for the eye exam. The eye doctor gives you an exam and prescription that you can take anywhere and get glasses made. His work is separate from the glasses themselves. He does not make your glasses. Before you say someone is dishonest you need to know the facts. He does his work and gets paid for it. The optical part makes you glasses so it is separate. When you get your car fixed, you are given a charge for labor and the parts. Its the same thing for optical. His work is the labor and your glasses are the parts. This is not a dishonest procedure.

I went to Walmart and they had the frames I liked and the cost was much cheaper than the other so I decided to go with them. They told me it would take 5 days to get my glasses but normally they come in about 3 days. I was okay with that. Well after a week I called them up and no glasses. They told me my ETA was the 31st of Jan but to call back on Wed because "they would most likely be there" and so I did! They again told me on Wed that they had not arrived and that the ETA was Jan 31st.

So finally, on the 31st I went to store only to be told that the lenses were at Nikon being made and "that Nikon doesn't care about the ETA". He told me to call back the next day as he was sure they would be there... guess what! They weren't. I asked if they could contact Nikon about the lenses to see where they were at and what the hold up was and I was told exactly this..." We don't have contact info for anyone at Nikon". WOW! Anyway, they told me that they did show a "shipping notification" on them and that they will be here Monday.

So I called Monday to see if they were in and low and behold...they weren't. I told them that the person I talked to on Sat said they shipped and this person tells me that she didn't see any notification that they shipped. So again I asked, where they were at and she responded, "I DON'T KNOW", and that was it. No explanation as to what was happening with them. I decided to test my patience and figured by the time I go to another store to order them these would arrive. Another week went by and still no glasses, no explanations, nothing other than "This is strange and I am not sure what's happened".

So after three weeks I told them to cancel order and went to another store and got my glasses in 3 days. But that is not the happy ending... 5 days later I noticed the credit wasn't applied to my bank account so I called Walmart back and they said they didn't show the order was canceled but would cancel it now and they did... Got my refund right away. 2 weeks later, my phone rings and guess what... Its Walmart! "Mr. **, we are calling to let you know your glasses are ready for pick up"... I just hung up the phone.

I went to Walmart Optical in Elgin, IL. My insurance was verified prior to me coming in. At the end of my visit, I was asked for my co-pay of $20 which I was happy to pay. Then I was informed that I also had to pay the Dr an addition $20???? I asked why is that. I was then informed the Dr. is separate from the optical and charges for over what my insurance charges. Be very careful when visiting this optical. They are dishonest and they do not tell you about all charges and hidden fees until the services have been done.

I went to get my eyes examined for the first time. Drs and techs really professional. Decided to order online but I screwed up the RX I input from my RX. It takes around three weeks to get them. Exactly what I ordered though. I did not have time so, like all of those other mindless idiots, I decided to go to Walmart to save money. BIG MISTAKE. They were more than the clinic who did the exam. But I went ahead and ordered through Walmart. They told me I would have them in five days. Wrong.

After one week, I called them. Reason for the delay? Order that was placed while I was sitting there was never received by the lab. If you want it done correctly, take your RX and order online. You will save over 50% in the process. Might take you longer. But you will control who does the work, the cost and you will receive updates during the making of your eye glasses!!!

Ended going to professional eye glass store and the prescription and glasses are perfect. Wal-Mart trying claimed that there were no problems with the glasses they made, not worth the hassle they gave. Every time I went back, they were rude and unprofessional.

She was rude to the lady before me. She accused her of already getting a refund. The lady had her receipt and wanted a complete refund since all they had were her lenses without the frames. She has been trying to get her Rx right since October. I left without contacts and I refuse to ever go to any Wal-Mart for vision needs. People like her need to be working behind the scenes and not with the public. I sure hope she doesn't ever need help from anyone because karma will kick her in her buttocks!

I went in to the Walmart Vision Center for a contact eye exam to get contacts for the first time (I haven't had an eye exam in probably 5 years). Everything went well, the contacts were great. They gave me a free 2-week sample of the Acuvue Oasys lenses and they were very comfortable. I went back in for my follow up exam and it also went well. But here is where it went south. At my first exam when the doctor gave me the contacts and told me they were good for two weeks, I told her that I wanted daily lenses because I'm very busy and don't have time to go through the whole cleaning routine with the lenses. It is just easier for me to be able to take them out and throw them away and open a new pack in the morning.

When I came back for my follow up exam they wanted me to order my contacts, I asked about the dailies and the doctor and the assistant both sat with me as they looked up the prices and brands for me to choose from and wrote it all down on a piece of paper and told me to come back when I was ready to order the brand I wanted. I'll add that they also didn't give me a copy of my prescription or even tell me what it was. I came back a week later to order the dailies and saw the same assistant and when I told her I wanted to order the dailies she said, "We can't order you the dailies, it has to be Acuvue Oasys 2-week lenses because those were the lenses used in the exam."

Are you serious? You told me the day of the follow up exam that I could order dailies and you even went as far as to write down the brands and prices for me. Basically she told me that if I wanted the dailies I would have to pay an additional $110 and repeat the whole exam process and then also order the dailies through them. I made it clear the day I came in I wanted daily lenses and they did not offer me a refund on the first exam or a discount on another exam. So basically I wasted $110 on a set of 2-week contacts and still don't even know my prescription. Gonna try LensCrafters next time...

So both my daughter and I went to Walmart Vision Center Pittston PA. I had been a customer there for years. They took my insurance and I didn't have any issues. I went for my annual exam on or about July 19th 2013, got new lenses for my glasses and she changed my script for my contacts. I have been wearing contacts for 6 years and now all of a sudden they are the same script for both eyes... I questioned this and she explained they changed and it will be fine. I got them went in for the exam week later, mentioned I had to strain a bit to see she said it is because they are new and it will be fine.

So here I am in November and after suffering headaches for months I went to a new Eye Dr. and BINGO! My script is too strong. He actually showed me the difference between what I was wearing and what I should be wearing. SO... my insurance won't pay anything towards it since I already used my allowance. So in addition to the $178 I paid Walmart I now I have to pay $320 for new glasses and that doesn't include contacts. My daughter also had the wrong script, from Walmart same location different Dr.

The pair I got in Walmart are now all marked up so I took them back to Walmart. Forget the ad on TV. They said they only replace if it's cracked. For now on I will spend my money on gas tolls and go back to NY. Sure it is more money all around but if we have a problem, they will mail the glasses to us, no charge. NY isn't going to tell me. This is an addition of what happened at the Walmart Vision Center the following day when I went to talk to the manager about my dissatisfaction with the service and quality of glasses I was told I had to accept because that is all my insurance would cover. This time I carried with me a printout of what my plan was and what it covered. When I first get there, it is 1:45 pm. After being ignored like I wasn't even there for awhile, I was finally addressed by an associate. I stated why I was there and who I wanted to see. I was told the manager was at lunch right now and would not be back until 2 pm but they had all my stuff ready so I would not have to wait long when she came back from lunch.

So I said okay and I just went and killed a few minutes time shopping around in the store. At 2 pm, I was back at the vision center. I was told to sit down and the manager would be right with me. She came over with those glasses again and tried to get me to take them home and try them out for a while. I told her I did not come here for that and that I wanted my money back because I did not feel that I should have to downgrade my vision field to be covered under my insurance. She again tells me that that is all my insurance would cover. I told her I know different and I pulled out the papers I brought with me that I got off the website of my ins. provider and showed her what it says plus I showed her where they had added something new to the plan where the transition lens was covered in full also now.

She looks at it and says that is not what they are showing here (on her computer) and that it's not covered. She then says, "I can give you your money back so you can go somewhere else because this is not covered here." I said, "That is exactly what I want to do." Then she says, But you are going to have to wait 6-8 weeks for every thing to clear before you can get them filled somewhere else." Now I don't know why it would take 6-8 weeks for them to get everything straightened out because it sure did not take them that long to file for it in the first place but even so I decided at this point I was going to do just that. She gave me my refund back for the out of pocket expense I had put on my Walmart credit card with a receipt and I am gone make sure I keep that receipt in case I get a bill from them.

This has been some experience dealing with Walmart Vision Center and one I do not ever want to go through again and never will I ever go there again for glasses. I had already dropped the DR. there (that is another story) and that is probably one of the reasons I was treated like I was at the vision center. But there are other options and you don't have to put up with Walmart's crap that they try to cram down your throat and tell you that is what you have to accept. That is the way I feel about Walmart Vision Center... Go somewhere else!

The first time I had my glasses filled at Walmart I got good service and good glasses 2 years ago. This time, I was told I was going to be paying a whole lot more out of my pocket because my ins. The provider had changed plans for me and they were not going to pay very much. I have the high option end plan with United vision care. But I was told differently by Walmart and I was going to be paying more out of pocket. Talked with my ins. provider and they told me nothing had changed in my plan and that I was fully covered. I go back to Walmart to look at the downgrade glasses, the ones they claimed my insurance would cover and I told them these were not going to work for me and I told them I had talked to my provider and what they said.

As it turns out the manager was not there that day and I would have to come back and talk with her to get a refund so I could go elsewhere. I left the glasses at Walmart and would not take them out of the store because they were just not right and I don't see why I have to accept or downgrade my vision field and I want my money back. Either my provider or Walmart Vision Center is trying to pull a fast one on me and I think it is Walmart. I am never again going to go to Walmart to get my prescription glasses filled regardless of the outcome. I had good experience with them 10 years ago, so I decided to make my prescription glasses here again. They were very friendly when I order my frames and lens, but when it comes to pick up the glasses it is another story. I made two pairs, one for driving and the other for daily house wear. One is photochromic and one is not. I need it quick for driving far to a wedding, so I went to pick up my glasses on the exact due date (August 21, 2013 at 3:00 pm). The optician there said they can't find my glasses (???). What is that supposed to mean? I told her I thought I came on the correct due date. She said the due date is estimated. I was like, "What??" Then why didn't they just put an "estimated due date" on my receipt instead of putting "due date" on there. I thought the due date is the date due to be pick up, or is it due date to come ask to see if your glasses is ready? Was very unhappy about that!

Anyway, after a while I don't know how long, she came with my glasses. I touch and feel my new glasses, but then I notice the lens inside the frame makes squeaky noise, like lens doesn't fit tightly around the frames. I ordered plastic frame, and with one light push, the lens came out. The lens on my old glasses frame fit so well, that you have to use force to pop out the lens. But the new one I can pop the lens out without any force. It looks like the lens cutting doesn't fit the glasses frame tightly. Then she blames it on my face being small and the frame is big. What? I don't understand. The lenses seem like not fitting on the frame, what does that have to do with my face.

I spent about $420 for two pairs and was very unhappy because the lenses seem very loose on the glasses frame. Too small cutting perhaps? She said if you are not happy she can reorder the lens. I asked, "How long?" She said, "It takes about another week!" But how do I know if they really fix the lens or not? Maybe they just take it back to the storage cabinet and leave it there and call me a week later and say it is ready (It's like going to a restaurant and complain about the food being cold, where they take your food, warm it up, and probably contaminate the food. Never ever ask to fix food). I just swallowed my loss of the overpriced prescription glasses from Walmart and walked out. I will never ever make my glasses from Walmart again!

A couple years ago I received a bill from the main office in Texas for "First Sight Vision Services" for an eyeglass purchase that I paid for already. The bill was for the exact same amount that I paid in cash at the time of purchase - $148. This bill I was sent did not have an explanation of the charges, only that I owed it for some glasses I bought from them 6 months previous. I got that straightened out - it was a computer glitch, but it took days of my time and effort.

Last month I got one of their famous bills for $10.00 - this time it was for a copay they said that my insurance didn't cover all of. Again, no explanation only that it was for something I bought in the vision center in 9/2012. Really? No explanation, just hand over the dough. I wasn't going to send them 10 cents until I knew what this was about... So once again I found myself calling the number on the bill Walmart sent me. I left a message, as it was after hours and no one was there... no call back.

Then the other day, I got another one of these bills in my mailbox saying this was their 2nd attempt. I decided I would speak to someone live. I, again, called the number on the bill, got a hold of someone who told me I was being charged $10.00 because of some eye exam I had there that the insurance didn't fully cover. Well I thought that was strange because I don't usually have a problem with my eye insurance. They cover co-pays in full. I asked for the number of my eye insurance place - she said sure and gave me a number. I called the one she gave me and it turns out that this place hasn't covered my company since 2009 (I get insurance through my job)... I thanked her, hung up and found the right company that covers me with eye insurance..I called them and spoke with a lady who confirmed that all co-pays to Walmart were paid for at that time. She placed me on hold while she got Walmart on the phone. After a lengthy hold she got back to me and told me it was all straightened out, that I shouldn't have gotten that bill and it was most likely due to a computer glitch. There's that Computer "glitch" word again.

So, I'm wondering. Has this happened to anyone else? If this is a typical thing from Walmart then more investigation is warranted. I don't see how there can be a "computer glitch" for years and no one fixes it. People, if you do get a bill from their vision center, take the time to call your insurance or bank and find out what you are being charged for - don't just send them your money blindly - for lack of a better word.

I recently went to Wal-Mart for my annual eye exam. All went well until I went to check out and was told that I had a $40 extra fee for having a contact exam with a new script. I refused to pay this fee for many reasons. I have been getting my eye exams at Wal-Mart for I don't even know how many years. I have never been charged for this exam. Even though I had made my appointment the day before the exam and Wal-Mart has my vision insurance on file, the vision center did not call to verify my coverage until my exam was over and was in the process of ordering my trial contacts to find the correct fit before I was informed of this new fee. I was leaving for vacation soon after my exam so this extra fee was quite a surprise to me. When I asked to speak with a manager, I, of course, was told it was her day off.

After close to a half an hour of me explaining that I wouldn't be able to pay this fee - that not only was I unaware of, but the sales person didn't know about - due to her inability to take the time to verify my coverage. I was finally able to leave my number for the manager to call me the next morning. The check-out girl proceeded to take my phone number with a statement that she would have her manager phone me in the morning. My number was written on a piece of scrap paper and I assumed that she would transfer my number with a note placed with my chart. Needless to say that was not the case. I decided around 2 pm to drive the 35 miles to the store due to the fact I had not received a phone call. When I got to the store and asked to speak to the manager, who was at lunch, I was asked to wait for her to get back. At this point, I felt that I needed to get this issue taken care of so I waited.

Apparently, being at lunch meant that the manager was simply in a back room of the vision center. When her lunch was over, the sales girl told the manager that I needed to speak to her. As I started my conversation with the manager, it became clear to me that she had no clue what I was talking about. She informed me that she knew nothing about the events of the previous day and was not given my phone number. After relaying the events of the previous day, she informed me that if I was unwilling to pay the extra fee, my script would not be able to be filled. I then asked who was the parent company of the vision center. I was astonished when I was told that Wal-Mart was the parent company. I then proceeded to go to customer service, relayed my story, and was slowly referred to one manager after another until I finally got so far up the management chain that I was now speaking to the big manager who wears suits.

After 2 hours, I was told that I would not be charged the surprise fee. I then asked for a copy of my script, both for glasses and contacts. The vision center manager at first told me that it would not be possible for me to get a copy because I haven't had time to assure that the fit would be correct. I then explained to her that I would be crazy to trust the vision center to order and receive my new contacts. She continued to argue with me at this point. I have been at the store for over 3 hours so I got pretty nasty with her. I questioned how the employees were trained, if at all. I also made it clear that the department she was in charge of was completely incompetent at their jobs. We again hashed out the fact that my insurance coverage should have been checked before I was even taken back for the exam. I questioned what would have happened if my coverage had expired. Would I then be responsible for the full cost of the exam?

Finally, after what seemed like days, I was given the written scripts. I thought all was well. I couldn't have been so wrong. When she wrote the script, my right eye contact had been listed as the equate brand. Care to guess who the only company that carries that brand? Wal-Mart. So now, almost a month later, I still don't have my contacts. The only way for me to get them is by having yet another eye exam. But since I already used my annual eye benefit, I now have to wait until next year to be able to get a new exam. I would just like to thank Wal-Mart's vision center for the headaches that have already started and will only continue to get worse as the year passes. Thank you so very much for the great training given to your employees. They get to be completely incompetent and the customer is the one who gets screwed. One last tidbit, I have 2 vision insurance. The one I didn't use would have covered the $40 extra for the contact exam. Had my coverage been checked before the exam, all of this could have been avoided.

I went back and I talked to another man, and the manager said, "Just give her the money back. We have looked at these; she keeps complaining.” But the other man came to me nicely and said, "What is the problem?" I told him. He looked at them, took them back and adjusted them; he cleaned them and now they are okay. He inevitably stuck up for Dr. Magoo. I am so ready to call attorneys. Just thinking of all the people that they have overcharged the past 4 years is mind-boggling. And to think I only wanted to go in, get my kid her contacts and glasses and be done. What a pain in the **!

The regional manager has told me that he will compensate me for the gas and they have refunded me the money from the $40 contact fitting that we paid this past time, however, not the times before. It's becoming a joke. How many times do you have to go to the Walmart Vision Center to get a prescription for contact lenses?! This has been an absolute nightmare transaction. Stay away from Walmart Vision Centers!

Two years ago I bought two pairs of eyeglasses at the Vision Center of Walmart in Bradenton, FL. I also bought a large spray bottle (6 oz) of lens cleaner. Free refills forever was advertised in large font over the display rack of bottles. Today I returned to the same Vision Center and asked for a refill. The lady replied quite tersely, "No, we only refill the small bottles." I replied that wasn't the case when I purchased the large bottle. No response. I dropped the large container in the trash and departed the Vision Center. Not a big expense. Just a broken promise that is so irritating. I brought the empty bottle back with me from Africa for a refill. What a waste of luggage space it turned out to be.

That is when I discovered that they had fallen out of my pocket and ran over. I found the frames, but could not locate either lens. I took them back to Walmart Vision Center only to be told that because I didn't have the lenses, they would only replace the frames. They gave me replacement frames, but I now don't have lenses. I was a newbie to prescription glasses having only one pair previously. The Wal-Mart vision Center near Philadelphia conducted the exam very professionally. However, when I tried the prescription on (the one in the holders in the office), it was pretty hard to see. The optometrist recommended that I wait for the glasses to make a final determination which I did. When I tried the new glasses, I literally could not see. They encouraged me to try them for several days which I did. I came back because I could not use the glasses. The optometrist re-examined me, made some adjustments, and re-ordered the glasses (second pair). The new glasses were much better, but I couldn't focus well in one eye and couldn't read well.

Then on a trip, the lens fell out. These glasses were only 3 weeks old. When I visited a vision center to have the lens checked, we discovered all kind of problems with the glasses. One lens was completely rotated. Both were too high in the glasses and neither was even. I went back to Wal-Mart a third time with these issues and talked with the manager. She offered a refund or correction. I opted for new glasses (the third pair) which are finally okay but no one even fitted them on me! The manager said that the glasses were sent to a lab they did not use because of very poor quality (really!). When I went to get the third pair, the same technician did not know anything about that, even though he sent them to the wrong lab. Is this a professional vision center? I think not. Needless to say, I will take my vision issues elsewhere!

The sales lady would not listen and basically told us to go somewhere else. I thought when you're told your exam is good for a year, it's good for a year, apparently not in Sierra Vista, AZ. I do not appreciate at all the rudeness and telling me to go elsewhere from a so called local family store. What else can you do but write a complaint and take whatever Wal-Mart says.

When I purchased the glasses, I had the lenses coated and I was told that would make them more durable and cut down on glare. The coating price was 40% of the lenses cost for single vision lenses. There is a 60-day warranty on lenses at the Wal-Mart Vision Center. I ordered on Jan. 15th and picked up when it was ready about 10 days later. The coating on the lenses scratched when placed in my pocket at work when I placed them there to assist in a code and do CPR. They were in there for about 25 min.

I took them back today, 3/21/13, and was told that it was past 60 days, even though I explained that I could not bring them in the last 7 days because I was unavailable to do so as work was from 6 am until 8 pm. I will not buy glasses from the Wal-Mart Vision Center because the coating did not hold up. Even though I was within 65 days of the original purchase date, they would not replace the scratched lenses. They do count from the date of order, even though I didn't have the glasses for 10 more days. They said they do not polish or re-coat the lenses and that I would have to purchase brand new lenses. I will go where they provide service even if it costs a little more from now on.

This is my first pair of bifocal lenses that I am getting. I constanly get headaches from eye strain, and I can only get one free eye exam a year with my insurance. I have been waiting over a year to get my eyes checked, and the headaches have been going on for months. I finally got a chance to get my eyes checked, and I knew what frames I wanted. I went to a local LensCrafters to get the frames I wanted, and I knew they could go ahead and take care of the lenses as well. The associate, after explaining what kind of lens she was offering me, seemed high, but still reasonable. Since I am still on my mother's plan for eye care, she decided that I was just going to get the frames and we were going to go to Walmart to get my lenses since they were cheaper. Yes, that was expected.

We went to our local Walmart Vision Center and the associate helping us was rather friendly. She then took the measurements for where the prescriptions needed to be since they were bifocals. She then proceeded to tell me the price, which was significantly cheaper than LensCrafters. Here is why. LensCrafters offered me their best lens that they had (scratch-free, glare free, glass lens, large field of vision, the works) and Walmart offered me the worst lens they had (plastic, not scratch free, not glare free, smallest field of vision). She told me that most people get this type of lens because it's all they need.

I don't understand why people would need a tiny field of vision while doing things, like driving. She said I could bring them back if I wanted the ones that were more expensive (the same price as the LensCrafters's lens) and they would just get me to pay the difference. I said I would try them, and see what happened. I asked when they would be ready, thinking it would be 2-3 days. It has now been 10 days, and my lenses are still at the lab, wherever that may be. My headaches are still happening, and I don't have my glasses. I don't think it should take this long to make lenses for glasses when companies do it in 2-3 hours everyday. I am very dissatisfied with this time frame.

I was refused service from the Walmart Store on highway 321 Lenoir, NC. I had previously been into the Optical Center and had a form filled out to get impact resistant frames and lenses. I was treated in a helpful and professional manner each time I went into the store except for the last time. I had to return to the optical center, because my employer told me that the frames I ordered were obsolete and I would have to get another form filled out and pick out a different frame. An associate that I hadn't seen previously refused service when I returned with the other form.

I entered the Optical Center and asked if they sold impact resistant frames and lenses. I already knew they did because I had been in about ten days prior and asked the same thing. At that time, there was an associate who promptly asked me to have a seat and he filled out the form I needed to return to my employer and took the measurements for my frames and lenses. When this associate said that they do have impact resistant frames and lenses, I reached in my pocket to get the form and as soon as she saw it, she said, "We don't fill those out." I knew this wasn't true and I told her that I had one filled out a little over a week ago. Her response was, "I wouldn't know about that."

At this point I looked down and saw that she was sitting with her foot in the chair that is usually for the customers to sit and she didn't remove it nor did she ask me to have a seat. She said that I needed to go somewhere else! She told me to go to Graystone which was somewhere down highway 321. I left and called to complain and was called back later by the store manager who said she had determined the root cause was that the associate just assumed I worked at a local furniture factory.

I sent an email to their corporate office to complain. I got a call from the Optical Manager who also said that the associate mistakenly thought I worked at a local furniture factory where they don't accept their insurance. I wanted to know why she would assume this when she did not ask me where I worked nor did she look at the form I had to see where I worked. I was told that she just made that assumption. I sent another email to the corporate office/ I got a call from the person who manages all the Pharmacies and Optical Centers for this region, and he said he had talked with the associate personally, and she will not answer why she thought I worked at a furniture factory and refused service. However, he did say he would speak to her again, because I wanted this question answered. He called me back and said that she told him this time that I did not provide her with enough information for her to help me. It looked like the story has changed. Now I am really furious, because they are totally avoiding the question as to why she made this assumption and they must think I am stupid.

I would definitely like to know at this point if there is any legal action I could take to get an answer. At this point, I really believe she made her assumptions based on the fact that she saw a black man wearing a hooded sweat shirt, jeans and tennis shoes, and a baseball cap and had no intention of helping me at all. I feel that I was discriminated against, treated rudely and refused service because of my race. In reality, what they don't know is that I have two college degrees, and I work in Quality Engineering where I manage a Total Quality System for an automotive manufacturer housing over 280 employees.

As the vision manager was cleaning the lens, he broke the frames and went to the rack to choose another pair. I asked him if they were the exact frames I purchased, and he told me they were. He asked me to come back in about three hours, and he will have the glasses ready.

I have been back to the Wal-mart vision center eight times to get my glasses adjusted, and today, I took my receipt showing I paid in cash. I asked if I could get other frames, or if they could do something because these glasses are constantly causing me trouble. I was told there is nothing they can do. I showed my receipt and reminded the vision manager that these were not the frames I chose, and he broke the first ones. He said he didn't remember doing that, and again, he told me Wal-mart cannot give me back my money or allow me to choose other frames. I went to the store manager, and he told me the vision center is like the pharmacy - they have their own rules and regulations, and there is nothing he can do.

I don't know what to do. I feel so lost. My manager at work today reminded me again that I need my glasses to do my work. I feel so cheated and taken advantaged of by Wal-mart's vision center. I have my receipt, and I just purchased my glasses on June 28, 2012. I also have my eye exam prescription. It seems that $298.42 was just thrown away.

I've been going to Walmart Vision for some time. At first it was alright. Then when I started changing brands of contact lenses, things went haywire. I kept having problems and the doctor didn't listen to me. The brand I started to use more regularly got recalled and I switched to an Acuvue brand. After not being able to tolerate these, I switched back to the other brand. My chart now had a bunch of brands. When I went to order, the wrong prescription was placed. This happened time and time again after I said several times this isn't the brand I want. A different employee answered every time; a different answer given every time.

I come from a history of eye problems, so I don't take mistakes lightly. Recently, I went in for my eye exam and was told my prescription didn't change. When I went back to my last order, I saw that it was different. I called to verify and they said my prescription hadn't changed for years, but then why do my records show I ordered a different strength for the past two years? The employee accused me of saying the doctor lied, which was totally untrue and disrespectful to say. I was completely nice about it and said I'm just trying to make sure this is correct because mistakes happen and I've had this happen before.

It doesn't make sense to me that you can say my prescription hasn't changed for two years when the prescription you gave me was different from the past two years. Granted if my eyes got better, then I'm fine with that. But my left eye is bothering me with a lower strength. Have some common courtesy and respect. I know it's Walmart but geez, vision is important. If this were a doctor's office, it'd be different. Now I have to look for a new eye doctor, because I'm sick of the constant mistakes and disrespect.

My experience included two eye exams within less than six weeks and having glasses made a second time because the first were totally useless. The second attempt was slightly better but did not improve my visual acuity to the point that I could see better with the glasses. I actually left the vision center not wearing my new glasses because I could see better without them. When the glasses were received the first time, they were not correctly made. However, each of the staff blamed me for their not being effective including saying it was the way that I "looked" through the glasses. I demonstrated that I tried viewing through the lens from top to bottom from side to side, exploring every possible viewing angle without improvement.

I attempted to explain the blurriness and the double vision caused by the glasses - problems I did not experience either with my old glasses or when not using their newly-made glasses. However, none of the staff with whom I spoke wished to address the problem; one became angry, tossed some items and left. It was finally agreed that the glasses would be remade but only after a second eye exam. It was never explained why a second exam was needed. Please note, I used their optometrist located in their section of the store and met with the opticians immediately after the first eye exam. During the second eye exam, the optometrist was abrupt and discourteous, behavior that confused me. I repeated the earlier process, walking from her office around the doorway into the optician section.

When the second set of glasses was received, there was basically no improvement. I was told to wear them and adjust to them. After about six weeks of trying to adjust, I realized the optical center was off. I found that out by tilting the glasses upward on the left side and leaving the right lens in place, I could see better with the glasses at that angle. However, they would have had to be worn at a severe angle. When I returned for what was now a third visit, I received the same poor customer service, the same myriad of excuses and no offer to correct the situation. I presented the staff person with an old pair of glasses through which I could see clearly as an example of what I needed. Initially, he refused to look at them. Later he asked for them, took them to another part of the store, and when he returned, he remarked that he guessed I just wanted more magnification to see better.

My response was that I would, if that is what it would take. He responded that there was nothing he could suggest. He made no offer to remake or prepare an improved pair of glasses. He merely folded his hands and looked at me. I was accompanied by my college-age son the third time and it was an excellent lesson of extremely poor customer service. He remarked how it was so odd that the person took such pains not to perform his job duties and to alienate his customer base. So, from the three extended (I was there for quite a while each time) visits: I got horrible customer service: They refused to address the concerns, gave rambling responses peppered with technical terms - terms used by trained staff and not readily understood by the general public - instead of explanatory phrases, and never really tried to understand why my visual acuity did not improve with the glasses.

I got a poorly prepared product: I expected to see better with glasses made to a current prescription. After each exam, I walked immediately from the optometrist's office which was separated from the optician section by only a wall, to the sales or optician side. I requested one set of glasses with bifocals and one set of reading / computer glasses. I am now saving my money to go to another optometrist and optician so that I can improve my vision; the visits to the optometrist and opticians at Statesville Wal-Mart did not accomplish that. Initially, I wondered why I seemed to be having such difficulty. It was only through discussions with others that I found my experience was similar to what appears to many others. I only wish I had known this beforehand and it would have saved me a significant amount of money (over three hundred dollars is significant to me) and a great deal of frustration.

On the positive side, it was highly educational for my college age son. He now has firsthand knowledge of poor customer service and disregard for performing one's job duties. He understands what not to do in his jobs. My wife was able to obtain a refund for the computer / reading glasses. The staff person did not offer that. It was only obtained through the persistence of my wife. I must admit that I was so frustrated by the entire course of events, I just wanted to leave and put it behind me as one of those unpleasant learning experiences.

So, I called Wal-Mart Vision Center in the town where there are only two eye centers. (I tried to call the first other one, but they could not see me quickly enough). I wanted to get my eyes checked, get glasses and contacts ordered so that I would not have to take time off from my new job if I do land it.

Wal-Mart set me up for an appointment the day before my interview. I had visited the eye center there several months ago and stepped in and asked if an appointment is needed to be made for an exam and was told "yes". I asked if they accepted my particular vision insurance, and the optometrist spoke up and said, "Yes we do!" So when I called for the appointment, I was asked about my insurance and was told that they accept it and made the appointment.

Well, tonight as I was out walking my dog at about 6:30 in the evening, several hours after the only other eye clinic in town has closed, I received a call from Wal-Mart Vision Center to confirm my appointment tomorrow. I said, "I'll see you all then!" Then the girl said, "Well, I just wanted to tell you that you are going to have to pay in full for the exam and whatever eyewear you order because we aren't set up yet to accept your insurance!" So, I had to cancel my appointment because since I don't yet have a job, I certainly could not afford to pay out of pocket for everything. One of the associates named Sindi asked if I wanted to order a fresh pair instead of buying the one that was on display. She recommended this because the one I would get (if I ordered them) would not have been worn/tried on by the numerous customers who would come in and would be better quality overall. I would only have to wait 2 weeks for them to be available for pick-up and they would call me when they were ready. So I agreed and 2 weeks came and went and still no phone call. On the second day of the 3rd week, I called to see if my frames had come in and the guy I talked to said no, but their computer says that the frames are still in transit yet and to maybe call back a couple days from then.

So I waited two more days and still no call from them. So because I had to do some shopping, I went into Wal-Mart in person, did my shopping and went up to the associate that was there. She said she was not sure of anything because she was technically another worker in the back office just helping out that day but she would look for me and she did. Nope, they still were not there yet. She told me to call next time before coming in to pick them up. I asked her when I should call because I don't know when they get their shipments in and I wanted to try to time my call around their shipments. She said that she didn't know because, again, she was technically a worker for the back office and was just helping out that day, but recommended I could call them in the evening. So I waited until the next evening and I called them and asked again if my frames were in yet and I heard from a very nasty, rude girl who said that no, they were still not in yet but they are still in transit. She also told me not to call them again and wait for her to call me when they were in.

I feel like I got the runaround with this and I finally did get a call a day after the very nasty, rude girl I talked to. The frames were the correct ones and they were in excellent shape and packaged well enough. It's just the whole experience was so wrong. I was flat out lied to by Sindi about it being a 2-week wait and it turned out to be 3 weeks. Now, I have to get these frames to my doctor and wait at least another two more weeks before I can have decent eyesight, making it a total of about 5 weeks (over a month) worth of waiting. I bet if this scenario were to happen to any one of those associates (especially the very nasty, rude girl I talked to), this would be a different feeling for them. I think they would be on the phone to their lawyers to file a class action suit and they would not like the headaches and eyestrain their eyes would have to go through with all this waiting going on. For anyone interested in going to get their frames for a prescription either from this Wal-Mart or an independent Vision Specialist or what-have-you, don't go through what I did. Find your frames elsewhere and not at Wal-Mart Vision Center, especially at the Norwalk, CA location.

I had an eye exam and bought glasses at Walmart Vision Center. I was completely satisfied. I had the glasses for 14 months and the finish on the frames on the part that fits over the nose began to peel. Since the year is over, I was told nothing can be done. The glasses with frames were close to $400, so I feel that more quality control over frames should be accomplished. The glasses and frames that I replaced with those from Walmart lasted over 9 years and I never had a peeling of the finish problem.

All I have to say is that the Vision Center in Schererville, Indiana was very unorganized. There was a huge lack of communication between employees and eye doctors that cause my daughter & I to have to return to the Vision Center on 3 different occasions costing us time and gas. First, they told my daughter she could not order glasses or contacts until her eyes stabilized. She had no glasses and had only the contacts they gave her for a trial pair. Then she went back for a check up and the dr. gave her another contacts to try for a week.

When she went back for that checkup, the doctor said she could order her glasses and contacts. At that appointment time, my daughter was given the wrong prescription and was told she didn't have insurance, which she did and the insurance was on file. They called her when she was halfway home and said they made a mistake about the insurance. That night her only contact tore and she had no spare. I had my daughter call the next morning, and they said they could not give her another one - that was their policy. I told them they needed to get her a spare contact until she could get her prescription in, that she could not go around with only one contact in and that they were the ones that told her she couldn't order glasses or contacts.

The assistant gave my daughter a spare contact and at that time realized she might have the wrong prescription. Her prescription could not be verified that day cause the dr. wasn't in, so we had to come back in a couple of days to order once the script was verified. We were assured it would only take minutes for the next visit. We came in 2 days later, and they tried selling us all kinds of extra stuff for the glasses. I said, “Just order the glasses as is, they are for night time only.” Then she charged us wrong cause she didn't credit us the insurance, so she had to start over again. So the 15-minute visit ended up being an hour and almost caused my daughter to be late for work. We haven't received the glasses or contacts yet, I just hope they are not the wrong prescription. We will never return to Walmart Vision Center again. There is no great savings anyway to have that kind of service.

They tried to say the severe scratches on my son's glasses weren't covered. I asked for a copy of the warranty, and the 1st paragraph states frames and lenses are covered. They said the lenses weren't actually covered, and I insisted on an explanation when it was in writing here in front of all of us. The fine print at the bottom says minor scratches aren't considered a defect. They are so scratched that my son is getting daily headaches - not minor at all! I said, "So if I go out and crack them, they are covered, right?" After continuing to argue the severity of the scratches, the manager finally said they'd cover it this one time only.

Go to the Westminster Walmart, and they will not even ask questions. They just reorder new lenses and give you a receipt. I have used Westminster for 8 years, and this was my 1st and only year here at Buena Park. I will drive the 30 minutes to get the customer service we all deserve.

I had my eyes examined and picked out frames in April 2012. After the glasses were ready for pick up, I tried them on. The lady asked me if my vision was clear, and it wasn't. She took my glasses in the back. Five minutes later, a man came, put them back on, and asked if they were better; they were not. He took them in the back 2-3 times. Then he told me to wear them all day for a week or 2, and if they weren't better, I needed my eyes re-examined. Several hours later, I took off the glasses and I noticed the man had severely scratched and bent the frames by the hinges to where they wobble. I was very upset he didn't have the decency to let me know he damaged my brand new glasses.

I made several phone calls and stopped by, and everyone there was making comments like if he did, inferring I damaged them, which absolutely infuriated me. One month later and 2 more trips to Walmart, the man that damaged them gave me my money back. That did not fix my problem. I still have scratched, wobbly damaged brand new glasses. So from start to finish, I had 5 trips and over 5 hours waiting and time off work to get a broken pair of glasses. The part that bothered me the most is that they didn't seem to care in the slightest and acted like I was an annoyance. Walmart Vision will never get mine or a family member’s business again, unless they make this right.

I started out by visiting the store and making a schedule to see the doctor. That alone took 20 minutes while the employees were just walking and talking to each other. I came in for the scheduled appointment, was told to have a seat and, “Someone will be with you.” I waited for 15 minutes with a response from the doctor: "Sorry, I did not know you were here." While testing me, she was also helping other customers. I got the eyeglass prescription and she asked me to have a seat, “Someone will be with you.” My reply was, "I only have the $10.00 co-pay at this time. Who do I give the check to?” She walked away. A male employee sat down and started helping me in getting new glasses. I told him I only have $10.00 for the co-pay. He told me to hold on that, “I will get everything ready then ring you up for your doctor’s visit.”

So I'm looking around and found frames. He started taking measurements and inputting the information into the computer. I asked, "Are we doing this and then I pay for them once I pick them up?” He said no, and again I told him I have only $10.00 for the co-pay. He kept playing on the computer and after an hour passed, he told me the total cost would be $258.90. I replied back saying, "Would this $10.00 check I have cover that?” He said back no. Now he is mad, so now I get an attitude from him. I pay my co-pay and walk out in disbelief. Two weeks later, I returned to get my glasses ordered. The male employee was there, and he just walked pass me. A lady came up and helped me. We paid and placed the order. One week later, the order was in. That male employee was there and started to help me. I put the new glasses on and in my right eye there was a blurry spot. No matter where I looked, that blurry spot was there.

I told him that this is not right. He replied by telling me that I need to wear them for a week or two to get used to them. I said, “Hey look, no one has a prescription that includes a blurry spot in their glasses. Glasses are made so I can see better.” He told me there is nothing he can do, and it's me. So I pulled a book out and told him that I cannot see any text on the right side of the book; it's just a blur. I'm starting to get mad. I removed the glasses, set them on the desk and told him "to fix them". He said no. I asked him to get someone else that is willing to listen and help me. He replied, “Yes, I will find you someone since you are not listening to me.” I told him, “Great, now you might learn something.” He left. Someone else came out; he did not come out of the office once. I asked the lady to have him come out and listen. She said no because he said no. After about an hour, I left the store with new glasses with a blurry right side.

Three hours later, I called Pearle Vision and asked them to check out my glasses. They were happy to help me. They tested the new glasses and found out they were 2mm off center, and 17 degrees out of focus on the right side. I returned back to Walmart and told them what I found out. The lady was willing to help and measured everything 3 times over. Each time, there was a different number from what was on the prescription. She got the ruler out and verified that all the equipment was way off. She even tested the right side for focus. Her test came out 5 degrees out of focus; another person test and that test were right on. So I'm now getting a redo on new glasses. I did have to pay $80.00 more for an upgraded lens that should have a better view. Whatever that means, we will see. I will never get glasses from them again once I get my new ones returned. Pros: Nothing was good. Cons: They don't listen to the customer. They treat the customer as dumb. They are unwilling to help. All they want is money; very bad customer service.

I have used them before for my sunglasses, so decided I would give them a try for my more complex no line bifocal lenses. I won't fault the customer service as they did a good job in both the purchase and the return of the glasses. My complaint is with their quality control.

On November 14, 2012, I went out on my motorcycle for the first time at night with the glasses I purchased on October 23, 2012. Now I have driven some at night with my car and didn't notice this problem. But when I was riding my bike, all the lights were distorted in my left eye. Riding a motorcycle put me in a different perspective so I noticed more the difference.

I went home and got my older glasses and discovered it was the glasses and not me. When I examined the left lens, it looked like the surface of an orange peel on the part where the reading portion was. There were also swirls through the middle of the lens. I had the top of the line digital lenses so I would have better field of vision. I took the glasses back today and the lady told me these were defective and should have never been issued. I was given the opportunity for them to fix them, but declined and figured I would get them done where I normally get them done at.

At that time, I was unable to see without being dizzy. C/s said to try them for a few days to see if my eyes adjusted. I did so, with both the glasses and sunglasses. I could not wear them. I called Wal-Mart Vision; they wanted another eye exam. I made an appointment. Dr. ** did not do an eye exam. He simply wrote a prescription for the same glasses I am wearing from 3 years ago. I returned to the Vision Center and returned both pairs of glasses for a refund. My question is why did Dr. ** even change the prescription to a higher power to begin with? On my second visit with no exam, he reverted to my previous lower power prescription? What is he doing? Another thing, on a previous visit for an appointment, he did not show up for at least 20 minutes for a 1:00 appointment. I left because I had also scheduled other appointments that day. He should not be doing eye exams if that is his level of competence.

About a week ago, I went to Walmart Vision Center to get an eye exam for some new contacts. At first, Dr. Thomas ** was great and very polite. When I initially put on the trial pair of contacts, my vision was a little blurred. Everyone who has worn contacts or glasses knows that my eyes had to adjust to the new prescription. I wore the trial pair for three days. I noticed that when I drive and look far off, my vision was blurred and that I could only see the signs when I drive right up on them, which I never had to do with any of my previous contacts. Note: Here is where it might get a little confusing, but this is what I did to see a little better: 1) Put an old contact in my right eye; 2) Kept the new contact in my left eye.

After three days of blurred vision, I decided to replace the new contact that was in my right eye with my old contact. I left my new contact in my left eye that Dr. ** had prescribed so I could see if it was just me or if it was my newly prescribed contacts. Even though my contact in my right eye was old, I was able to see slightly better than what I was able to see in the last three days. Today I finally went in to see Dr. ** to inform him about my situation and hoping that he would be able to help me resolve this issue. Needless to say, when Dr. ** saw that I was back because I was having issues, he had a very, very bad attitude with me. He started out saying that some people don't accept change too well because he put me in a new brand of contacts. In addition, he told me the reason why I couldn't see was because I had my old contact in my right eye and that I had my new right contact in my left eye (which was **).

I have been wearing contacts for 16 years and this man is telling me I don't know my left from my right (yeah whatever). Even though I told this man 5 times why I put my old contact back into my right eye and why I kept the left one he prescribed in my left eye, he still went on to say that I was unable to see because I had an old contact in and I didn't know my left from my right (after 16 years of wearing contacts). This man truly refused to admit that he may have made a mistake and just redo the eye exam over. Instead of doing the eye exam over, he gave me the same prescription but a different brand. My mother told me, "You get what you pay for." Cheaper is not always better!

I went back and asked a different lady, as the first was not there, if she could adjust them again and that they were falling down my nose and I had to push them up all the time. When they were up where they belong, my eyebrows were what made them look like I was looking out a dirty foggy window.

I had them adjusted at another Wal-Mart store just a few days later and the same thing kept happening. I stopped wearing them because I felt not being able to see was not safe. She still said she couldn't see any. She asked me what I wanted her to do and I said either fix the problem or let me try another pair. When I told her they were sliding down my nose and I had to keep pushing them up, she said, "They can't slide over your ears, so pushing them up - all you're doing is pushing them on your eyebrows." I again told her they slide down and I have to push them up and she repeated they can't slide down so stop pushing them up. They are right where they belong. I just moved to Arizona from Il. Before we came, I made sure that my family had eye appointments and glasses. When we got to AZ, my daughter's kid's glass's metal with a small thin fishline holding the lens in made the lens keep popping in and out. Finally after the third time of popping out, I glued it. Anyhow, the glasses were purchased in January to February 2012. It is now Aug 2012. I have been back to have them fix them also before I glued them.

I am a mom of 4 with one on the way. 5 of us wear glasses, and all of us had purchased glasses, exams, and contacts. So when I went into Wal-Mart, I asked to have a pair of new glasses and frames but a different frame. I was told because it was so many months ago, it was not their policy. I had had a lady previously tell me that if they would replace them, I would pay $25 for the lenses. Fine, I'll pay for the lenses. But when we went back, the story changed; now, we would have to pay for lenses and the frames that I'm sure they get tons of complaints on. They even had to keep them overnight the one time to put the fishline around them, because it was not an easy fix.

The manager agreed on the phone after my ranting and raving to replace with the different frame so I would not have to keep coming back. But then she said, "Well, I'm going to do this for you, but we don't just do this." She said it like she was doing me a favor. Then, I said I was calling corporate on her. This wasn't a favor to me. All I wanted was a pair of glasses that the lenses stayed in. That's it. The customer service that I received being there on several trips is outstandingly poor.

Reading through some of the other complaints, I think they really need to do something about the poor customer service. When you say you're going to do something, you don't say "but..." That means you not taking any responsibility for the bum product. She also said that I was calling her on her time off when it was her employee who called her. Tell your employees not to call you when your off then. That's not my problem.

I'm tired of the poor customer service. As it stands, they are not doing anything at this point. I left my number there to hopefully get a call and resolve the issue. I'm just really upset that the customer service was really bad. Do something about it, Wal-Mart. The address of the location is 18551 N. 83rd Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85308.

One thing I forgot when I was inconveniencing her on her time off was I asked her what her name was for when I filed the complaint. She told me "I'm not giving it to you. This is all, because I was going to file the complaint. Where is the ownership. So, I asked the girl who called her on her time off, and the name she gave is even correct. It is **.

We wanted to purchase the glasses elsewhere and needed the PD measurements in order to do so. We paid $58 for the exam and received all numbers except the PD measurement and they refused to give it to us. That number is needed to get glasses that fits correctly and is part of the exam and shouldn't have been an issue.

I bought my prescription glasses from Walmart. Never again, you get what you pay for. I was very careful with my glasses. I paid for insurance that replaced the glasses. They never honored it. These are the foggiest, worst glasses I've ever had. I have to buy replacement glasses so that I can see. I will not buy them at Walmart. Walmart claims that their non-reflective coating is as good as an expensive pair and lasts as long. Lie, it scratches even if you always clean with a soft cloth. It gets foggy over time, less than a year and they won't replace them even if you bought their replacement insurance. So, if you really need glasses, don't buy them from Walmart.

I had my eyes checked and the doctor would not find contacts that worked for me. She told me to go to another doctor, wrote a prescription I can't use, and said she was done. No refund, nothing. I can't afford to pay for another eye exam. She was too lazy to find the right fit for my eyes. Now, I have a prescription I can't use and I'm out the money I paid for the exam.

I was told they could fit my lens to a new frame. They failed twice to make them fit and lens continues to fall out. A man named ** worked on them last and put a thumbprint on the lens that will not come off. He tried to remove it as did I, but print is still there. I realized I have a year warranty on this purchase but how many times will I need to return to the Vision Center for the same result? I would not recommend Wal-Mart Vision to anyone! The staff there is very rude! Purchase date is 7/5/12 at 12:22:07 in Troy, Ohio Wal-Mart at 45373 1801 W. Main St.

Placing an order for contact lens - My prescription was to expire on July 6 for my contact lens. My order was placed and paid for on July 2. Since my prescription possibly would expire before my order arrived into the store or before I picked them up, I was told that I would not receive my order, but would get a refund if this occurred. Another option was to have the contacts delivered to my home (not a problem) but there was a problem, I was charged almost $7 to have them delivered, even though I chose to have them home delivered, but felt this was not an appropriate situation, for me to be paying for shipping.

This is why I am filing a complaint: Wal-Mart had my $114 immediately from a debit. Why could I not get my product after the prescription possibly has expired? Why did I have to pay for shipping when it is Wal-Mart's problem about not honoring the fact that my prescription was current when I placed the order? I feel that I should be reimbursed for the shipping.

The location is FM529 & Highway 6 Area, Houston, TX. On the initial ordering of my eyeglasses, I was told the rounded polishing charge would be waived. I reminded the "employee" in the vision center twice that she had agreed to waive the fee. Upon ringing up my purchase, she charged me for the rounded polishing. I didn't notice until I had walked away. I did get the amount refunded but had to wait 30 minutes to be waited on. When I returned to pick up my glasses, the rounded polishing hadn't been done completely. It was on the order. The "employee" said she could send them back to the lab or have someone do them in the store. I told her we had tried that on glasses before and the in-store person's finish wasn't smooth and I ended up having to wait another 2 weeks for the lab to do it right. She agreed to send them back to the lab. The frames were shaky and she couldn't get them tight so she agreed to re-order a complete pair.

I called 4 days later to see if my glasses were in. The employee answering the phone said she would check and call me back. She called back and left a message to call her back. I was on my way to the store anyways so I just showed up to see what was going on. Apparently, the manger had decided they weren't going to send the lens back to the lab. They wanted to polish them "in-store". I reminded them of my previous experience but let them try anyways. They were going to polish the lens and put them in the new frames. Yes, I had the same result as before, actually worse. Instead of polishing out the rough edges, she polished the edges so much there was a gap between them and the frame. She apparently didn't understand what needed to be done. She even left 2 chipped edges. After getting home, I noticed the new frame has flaws, a bubble in the paint and excess paint.

Now, they are going to do what was promised before and re-order the lens. When the lens come in, I will have to tell them about the frames so another week or so wait, or I might just take a refund if the lens still aren't right. This is the second time I have tried to use Walmart for my eyeglasses. The last time, I ended up getting a refund and going back to Eyemasters. It looks as if I am going to have to do the same. I don't think they will get the lens done correctly this time either. They just aren't capable of providing quality eye products.

I just left the Wal-Mart in Dumfries, VA at 17041 Jefferson Davis Highway. Previously, I bought home odd & ends there as well as groceries for the convenient location. Now, I will go out of my way to take business down the street. Why? Because the eyeglass department is unable to keep track of who is next in the department for service. It is a Wild West without even a paper "next" number system nor is the clerk capable to keep track of the customer arrival order. The staff has to ask "who is next" and rely upon the honesty of the customers rather than know for themselves.

I refuse to be the victim of lies by customers as to order nor be talked over or down to when seeking the involvement of management. I realize I will not bankrupt Wal-Mart but I will have the satisfaction of taking my money to a more appreciative business. If you are unable to watch persons/customers to know their arrival and who is next, then you are unable to watch for shrinkage and pilferage as well. So merchandise and customers are walking out of the store or optometry department.

Customer service and my service observations as well as complaints are important enough to PF Chang, Nordstrom and Morton's to warrant a discount for an offense or oversight but the management of this Wal-Mart did not seem particularly interested to make me a satisfied consumer. Fair warning to other shoppers at Wal-Mart!

I called and spoke to one of the women that works there and she was sweet as could be. The reason I called was because my fiancé broke his glasses. The brochure says replace glasses with receipt. We have that. The first lady I spoke to said she understood my issue. Well, the manager took her time to get back to me - two days, and tells me that she can't help because of HIPAA. I understand that. I wasn't asking about his prescription. I was just asking about the pamphlet they give. Now, they are saying that they can replace his glasses for $55 when the pamphlet states, "We'll replace or repair your broken glasses within 12 months of purchase with receipt" with a star that says must bring broken glasses back to Wal-Mart Vision Center to be eligible for warranty replacement. Okay, the way that's worded is both frames and lens or am I just not with it?
