I was not able to replace my six year old glasses. I just could not afford to pay what the local optical offices charge. I decided to look online but I was almost afraid to order because of the value for the $. The glasses I received are the same as I would have paid more that twice the amount. Thanks so much for making it easy for me to see better.
Debbie, thank you so much for your kind words! This is precisely the reason why our company was formed!

I want to thank you for your fantastic customer service. Through my own fault, I submitted the wrong prescription. Without question, I was sent a pre-paid label to return them to be reground. They arrived today and they are marvelous and excellent value for money. I would have spent at least $200+ at a local big box store's optical department. Feel free to use my name in any testimonial.
Thank you for your kind words, Anne! We are glad it all worked out.

I love this company. I have been using them for a couple years now and they are fine, even introduce my friends and family to them. When I need a pair of glasses away from home they come in handy. I paid 300-500 for my regular pair that can get damage or broken, but If I have an extra pair to use I can save my other one. The people who are complaining better be happy there is a place like your company where we can go if we need an extra cheap pair and the price is good. Thanks guys for being there for me.
We appreciate it, Judith! Your words mean a great deal to our company! Thank you so much!

I've been a client of 39Dollar Glasses for five or more years now. I've typically received prompt service and a good product for the money. The last time I ordered, I had an issue with my glasses breaking within one month of purchase. When I contacted the customer service rep, she took care of it. They sent me a new pair of glasses at no charge, and I didn't even have to return the original pair. I'd recommend this company for low cost and nice folks in the customer service department.

I bought a pair of glasses with standard anti-glare and anti-scratch coatings. Immediately, I dropped them and they landed lens-down on the dirty floor. I picked them up and there was a little dot scratch right dead center of the lens. I was so disappointed and contacted 39dollarglasses via chat. I admitted it was my fault for dropping them but that I was disappointed that it scratched "so easily" and was inquiring about possibly a different kind of scratch resistant coating or something. With no debating or hassle, the representative said she would send me another pair for FREE and I can keep the original pair. Additionally, the prescriptions have always been right-one. I have shopped at several other online glasses stores and 39dollarglasses is tops in my book.
Thank you for the great review, Nathan! We appreciate it so much!

I purchased two pairs of glasses. My overall experience was pleasing especially for the price. I can see and my frames are now updated with current trends. I know it may seem like a risky purchase, however you must remember all purchases are returnable if unsatisfactory and for as cheaply priced, they're definitely worth your time and money.

After reading many of the reviews I noticed a pattern for bent frames, cheap frames, forever shipping and wrong prescriptions. I would be okay with a bent frame because that is very easy to fix, but not a wrong prescription. Well I got my order today (9/10/14) after ordering on 9/4/14. It only took six days. One pair, Tony Brown - 6.00 Clear Seiko super high index lens, SR + UVA/UVB + anti-reflective coatings and frame are very light. Lens is sharp and clear, no blemishes. As long as you are not expecting the quality feel of a designer frame, you should be okay. Frame is cheap, but looks nice. The other pair I got was a Fulton Matte Black, same prescription but in a Pkg. F: Polycarbonate polarized sun lens. Sharp view but not as sharp as the Seiko. Fulton frame is made better (stronger) than the Tony Brown frame. Very happy with both for the price.
Thank you, Anthony! We are so happy to hear that you are pleased with your order!

This was my very first time to order glasses online, and I used various reviews to choose the right company, but within my restricted budget. I picked my glasses using the virtual imaging available on the easy-to-navigate website. I was nervous about what they would be like in person, how long, etc...I received my glasses in about a week. They are fantastic, well made, perfect vision and I got them in about one week! I chose a pair I would have chosen at an optical store (went with Hemingway) and am so impressed. At $68 bucks, SHOP USA and try this company.
Thank you for this wonderful review, Rick! We greatly appreciate it!

After realizing that I needed glasses, I did research on the most price-friendly options after being quoted $300 for the cheapest pair at another store. I saw 39dollarglasses and figured it would be the best option. I did check to see that they were BBB approved, and to my relief, they were. I understood that they would be more than $39 dollars, but what I didn't realize was that my shipping time would take possibly upwards of three weeks. I placed my order on the 15th of July and saw that, upon first inspection, the glasses had failed. The estimated production time of lenses like mine was a mere 5-7 days.
I called customer service two days after they "failed" and was told that they, upon another inspection, should be shipped out by the next day. I called again right at opening time the following day and was told that they needed to be inspected and should be shipped later. The woman at the customer service told me that I should call later to verify. I called at 2:00 that evening and waited another 10 minutes on hold to be told that they, again, should be shipped by that day after inspection. Because that wasn't a very specific response, I decided to call back to ensure that they had passed and would be shipped like she had told me.
On my third call of the day, I was told by a different representative that they didn't pass inspection the previous day and that they were being ordered then as well. Naturally frustrated, I asked the rep to explain why the previous rep told me they were to be inspected that day and shipped then as well, and he told me that she read the status "wrong." He told me that they ordered a new pair of lenses and that they would be there by Thursday and possibly pass inspection to be shipped by Friday.
When I tried to explain my confusion and agitation, he just yelled over me and proceeded to explain why I was wrong instead of rectifying the situation. The customer service team at this company is beyond appalling and dissatisfying to know how little they care about the customer. My two day glasses order at a normal optical store has turned into a minimum of a two and a half week delivery. All of which is terribly inconvenient for someone who gets daily migraines without glasses.

I ordered two pairs of nonprescription sunglasses with upgraded lenses, for just under $100 each. When they arrived, we were truly shocked at how thin and flimsy they were and at how poorly they were constructed. There were visible gaps between the lenses and the frames on both pairs and the lenses were ready to pop out of the frames. One of the temples was damaged at the hinge, making it permanently (and very visibly) bent in at an angle. When I immediately called to ask how to return these trashy and defective sunglasses, I had to wait on hold for some time.
The rep was pleasant enough and I politely mentioned my surprise at the obvious junkiness of both sunglasses. I asked what kind of quality control process they use (none, evidently) and she made it clear that such returns for poor quality were commonplace. Knowingly charging $100 for flimsy, bent, broken sunglasses with gaps between all lenses and frames is their normal way of doing business! The rep said she would email a shipping label to cover the return postage. When the post office scanned that shipping label's bar code as I was mailing the package, I learned that 39dollarglasses had not put enough postage onto the label to cover the return!
They didn't even pay enough postage for me to return two pair of extremely lightweight, flimsy glasses. I had to pay another $5.80 in postage, plus additional fees to track and insure the package. As a point of comparison, I was also returning two packages that were MUCH heavier (each included several heavy jeans and other items); those merchants provided labels that covered all return postage plus tracking/insurance. 39dollarglasses does not deserve your business. Save yourself the hassle and buy your glasses elsewhere.

Please DO NOT send your glasses here if you want to get them re-lensed. I called and asked if they would have a problem with my glasses which are very similar to a style they carry, and that the glasses were my only pair - so delays should be avoided if at all possible. I was promised a satisfactory result only to be emailed 2 weeks later that they can't replace the lenses. They then suggested that I spend even more money and order one of their glasses. I chatted with a customer service agent, who explained that there was nothing she could do even after I explained how unhappy I was with the situation I was in. SO BUYER BEWARE - CHEAP PRICES, CHEAP SERVICE.

I ordered and paid for a pair of progressive lens bifocals. They sent the cheaper lined variety. I sent the glasses back and they wouldn't remake them without me paying $10 more. They maintain I paid for the cheaper ones. Not true. The customer service was rude and ignored my issue. I can get a refund now minus fees, but why do I have to pay for their mistake? We shall see if that actually happens. I no longer trust them. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
We are happy that a resolution was reached. Thank you, Katherine!

I ordered a pair of glasses (the total was $116, NOT $39) that arrived promptly in the mail. The quality was horrible. The frame was so bent/crooked that the glasses were completely unwearable. The frame also came with a visible scratch on top. I requested a full refund, and the company emailed me a return shipping label. I sent the glasses back to them on May 7, and 8 days later, the package has gone back and forth five times between two different post offices because the company sent me a label with an incorrect bar code. I called the postal service to figure out what was happening. When the agent looked up the mailing address of 39dollarglasses.com, he said,"Wow. " Apparently this company has done this A LOT. It makes me think that they are negligent in their return shipping practices. As long as they don't actually get my glasses back in the mail, they will not refund my $116. I am beyond angry.

After having my glasses for only 3 days, I called and told them my prescription appeared to be incorrect since I was not seeing correctly from one eye. This prescription was exactly the same as two other pairs I have. Customer Service said "no problem" and sent me an RMA to return them. I returned them immediately and they acknowledged receipt. They emailed me and said their lab had to check them. After not hearing from the lab, I called and again spoke to Customer Service and told them I was unhappy. They said "no problem" and said they would issue me a refund. Bottom line, they refunded me HALF of the price. BEWARE - they are allowed to make mistakes and penalize YOU for it!

Read some of the reviews here and was somewhat dubious about using this company. Sent my order in and got the glasses back in a week. Wow, glasses were out of focus. What happened? I had made a mistake entering the +/- from my prescription. Got customer service on the phone twice within 15 minutes. Emailed me return postage, and remade the glasses. I offered to pay for my error, and was told there was no additional charge. After waiting a week for the post office to return the glasses, they were remade and back in three days. I ordered two pair of bifocal eyeglasses. The site says they should be made in 5 to 7 days. I didn't get them for nearly a month (after two inquiries). When they finally came, the paperwork accompanying them had the correct prescription (that I had supplied) but the lenses were 100% wrong. It honestly looked as if I were looking through a glass Coke bottle sideways. NOTHING was in focus - near, far or in between. One pair was worse than the other but neither was anywhere near correct. To their credit, they refunded my money without a hassle. The rating above is inaccurate. I am not "angry". I am just very disappointed to wait so long to get a useless product.

A couple of months after buying a pair of glasses from 39glasses, the coating, for which I paid extra, started to wear off of the left lens. A couple of months after that, the problem got pronounced. When I wrote to customer service, at first all they cared about was my order number, which they actually already had via my email address. Then they said I had two pairs, which surprised me. Then they said I must have generated a second order number myself. At no time did they actually deal with the problem of the coating; they had no interest in it or in helping me with it. I now have to get new glasses somewhere else and send them the glasses so that they can see that the coating is worn off of one side of the glasses.

In 2009, we sent in frames to have new lenses, even though 39dollarglasses says that they put new lenses in and sent them to use within a week. This is not true. It was a month. Still, we were satisfied and okay with waiting. This August, we sent frames in again to have new lenses. After that it became a nightmare. They say that an email was sent stating that they would not use the frames we sent. We did not get the email, so we kept checking online for the status. The status each time says, "in production". I tried and tried to call but you but I cannot get through on your phone lines. Would it be that difficult to add an employee and a couple of new phone lines? When I finally got through I received an employee, Lisa. I suggest you request a different employee because she was extremely rude, ran me in circles. I ask to speak to someone in the marketing, administrative, customer complaints, public relations, anyone that I would be able to be treated as a customer, who buys their service and anyone who would be willing to hear the customer's frustration. Well, they were all in meetings! After I called 2 mores times, I received a return call and it was a nightmare. All sorts of excuses and very unwilling to hear why the customer is dissatisfied.
The consequences to me was the experience of feeling like they were trying to make me "the bad guy" and all they could do was make very unfair justification. My comment to them finally ended asking them to stop trying to defend and argue with me. I called as a customer who had suggestions as to how they could better serve the customer. I stated it might just be best to contact someone who had the interest of their business as their prime concern. I do believe they are on to a business that could become a very successful business. As I think of Steve Jobs recent passing, I believe Steve Jobs would not have tolerated employees who do not hear and care about the customer. I believe he was successful for many reasons, but I believe he demanded a lot from his employees. If $39dollarglasses has the same desire to build a great business, they are going to have to understand and listen to what is causing their customers to inform others of bad experiences. Therefore, former customers no longer use their service and also are suggesting others to ask them, if they want to pay for services that do not put the treatment of the customer utmost important. It simply comes down to a company that needs to make some changes so they do not treat their customers as though we are born without just simple common sense. Common sense of knowledge and common sense of knowing it is wrong for a company employee to inform you of incorrect information and think that the customer is going to not see through it. Way too much stress was caused.
