Years ago, our company left ZipRecruiter due to lousy customer service, but we gave them another try today, in hopes they'd improved their processes and their people. But we were AGAIN sorely disappointed. After placing 2 of my 5 ads today, I was prompted to 'verify our company,' which I did with a phone call, as requested. But hours later, I received ANOTHER prompt to do it AGAIN. Already exasperated with having my time wasted, I was treated to an obnoxious, pompous twit named JAMES. FOUR times, he told me to 'refresh my screen,' as if I were an idiot or a feeble child. His condescending tone was beyond unprofessional, but he THEN became THREATENING when he told me that 'he could just CANCEL my account' if he wanted. (BIG TALK for a useless, customer service mouthpiece!) Of course, I told him to CANCEL IT.

Someone needs to clue James into the fact that it's solid companies like ours that PAY HIS PAYCHECK. Frankly, we've been in business MUCH longer than ZipRecruiter, and it is not by accident. WE ACTUALLY HAVE STANDARDS, TRAIN OUR PEOPLE, & OUR CUSTOMERS COME FIRST. If ZipRecruiter hires ignoramuses like James, it is inconceivable that such a company can help OUR 35-year company to hire ANYONE. ZipRecruiter has extremely LOW STANDARDS for their own employees. Don't bother with ZipRecruiter. There are plenty of other PROFESSIONAL options out there!

So I signed up for Zip Recruiter and used their free trial which from my experience went well so I continued to use them. I posted a couple more job postings that were 3 day post for $11 each day which I paid for. I go back onto my account and they charge me $525 for those post even though I chose the 3-day option so they closed my account because I did not pay for that $525 and was unable to close the jobs because of it. I go back to try to pay that $525, they charged me another $560 for the same post that I couldn't close because my account was suspended! I call customer service and they said they will keep charging me until I pay for those invoices of $1,085 total and it was nothing but 10 candidates through 3 job post on top of that. I'm filing a lawsuit asap, please email me at ** if you would like to help make this case stronger against them.

During the "trial" period, which is not free, we received zero candidate referrals. Dissatisfied with the service we decided to cancel. We were charged $504 for the renewal month, one week before the end of the trial period. It took hours trying to get through to customer service only to be informed that we cannot get a refund. This charge will be disputed as a fraudulent charge.

Zip Recruiter is ridiculously expensive, a lot of the time sending you candidates that are nowhere near qualified for the job but of course you get billed for them.

I had a posting looking for a construction manager, most people were nowhere near qualified and a few of them currently working at McDonald’s as a fry cook but saying they’re qualified for the position. And of course we got billed for this.

Additionally, during this time my card was hacked. So of course they could not bill me, I received three nasty emails from them with red lettering telling me I better pay or else. Will not use again. RIPOFF.

If you forget the password and the system lock you out you have to wait 24 hour to resolve so you waste all that time and money because you paid for this day but you won't have the chance to responded to your candidates fast enough ..

Very deceiving and deceptive billing. I too have had a very bad experience with Zip Recruiter. Their billings practice is very deceiving and deceptive. They have this box that you have to accept "daily subscription" that you think is for the ad you are running. Then the candidates that they send you don't meet the criteria that you asked for. You get frustrated and pull the plug on the ad. But then you realize after you keep getting billed for $504 that they deceived you and you are still getting billed even though you no longer have an ad listed. Warning do not sign with zip recruiter

TL;dr: ZipRecruiter = Junk Engine. This is simply not a good service; poor candidate filtering; expensive. Don't setup autopay with these trolls.

I just joined a company to turnaround accounting. Gotta hand it to Zip, they're crushing the subscription-as-** model. They hope that consumers don't like the service, place one's account on pause, and then sneak in an autopay indefinitely. Caught them after 24+ months of bogus subscription charges. Here's how the call went:

Me: "ya'll are charging us for nothing, I'd like $$ back."

Zen customer service: "lol nah we have a ridiculous market multiple to uphold."

I went to their site because I needed to hire an assistant. So I started their trial for $40. I posted an ad, however I ended up promoting a current employee to the position. What they don't make very clear is that you are charged $35 per day your ad runs. I was sick of all the emails so I pulled the ad 30 days later. Wow to my surprise they charged my card $1,000. Called to complain and they could care less. Run don't walk from these scammers.

As an employer, I found ZipRecruiter to be nothing by a nightmare. I would get babysitters applying for my restaurant manager position. Years later after losing the restaurant to the COVID1984 scamdemic, I'm seeking employment myself. Each and every link I choose with zip added to it just takes me to ads or errors. Now it all makes sense. Your odds of finding someone qualified through Zip are nearly 0. Anyone not mentally handicapped will have moved on, on day 1 of trying to use Zip.

They offer a 4 day trial but after I cancelled my subscription, they did not cancel the job posting. They continued to charge my card daily. I only received 5 resumes, 3 were international. Charged $250USD.
