ZipRecruiter jobs

ZipRecruiter is a useful resource for job seekers at every stage of their job search. If you’re simply browsing, you can search job postings in your area or view salary data to get insights into trends in your industry. Signing up is free, and you can apply for jobs in a single click once you build your profile and upload your resume.

After you apply for a position on ZipRecruiter, you receive updates on new messages, application views and other changes to your application status. There are millions of jobs posted on ZipRecruiter from businesses around the country, so it’s a good option for those who want to manage all their applications in one place.

You can also choose to opt into the Resume Database, an option that allows businesses to find your resume and invite you to apply to its open jobs. ZipRecruiter also takes reports of suspicious job postings seriously, allowing job seekers to flag them and stating it reviews each complaint carefully.

ZipRecruiter for employers

Business owners and hiring managers use ZipRecruiter to increase the quality and quantity of the candidates they reach. According to our job search statistics, nearly 40% of employers report challenges with finding qualified candidates, making job platforms like ZipRecruiter a useful tool for expanding reach and attracting top talent.

ZipRecruiter’s most useful plan for your business varies based on your company's size and the hiring features you’d like to use. The available plans include:

  • Standard: This starting tier is designed for smaller companies that are operating on a budget. With the Standard plan, your job posting is posted to more than 100 job hunting sites, which gives you high visibility without a hefty price tag.
  • Premium: The Premium plan is ideal for companies with up to 5,000 employees. It offers the same services as the Standard plan, as well as placement in job alert emails and access to a database of active resumes.
  • Enterprise: This option is suitable for very large companies with more than 5,000 employees. The Enterprise plan expands the reach of your job postings and utilizes data gathered from dedicated specialists to guide your hiring process.

Premium and Enterprise businesses also have access to ZipRecruiter’s AI tool that reaches out to qualified candidates and eliminates those that aren’t right for the position.

Using ZipRecruiter as a business is very straightforward. After you submit the job posting, you’re matched with qualified candidates whom you can invite to apply for the position. You can try out the Standard and Premium plans for free for a few days to see if ZipRecruiter’s services are right for your company.

ZipRecruiter also offers 24/7 U.S.-based support via live chat or phone (1-877-252-1062) for both employers and job seekers. However, it’s worth noting that ConsumerAffairs’ attempts to use live chat with and without logging into a business account were unsuccessful (4/29/25 at 1:00 PM CST). We were not able to proceed past the “waiting to chat” screen for more than 10 minutes despite multiple attempts.

ZipRecruiter price

ZipRecruiter is free for job seekers, but businesses can sign up for a monthly plan that boosts their posting visibility, offers access to a resume database and includes other useful features.  The standard plan costs $24 per day per job posted, and the premium plan costs $35 per job per day. Pricing for the Enterprise plan isn’t listed because you’ll have to request a consultation before signing up.

The fine print on the checkout page for both Standard and Premium plans states you will be billed monthly, when your account reaches $500 or upon cancellation — whichever comes first. Note that you will be charged full price for any day your job is posted, even if it’s only a partial day.

ZipRecruiter FAQ

As a small business owner I would never recommend ZipRecruiter. The few applicants that we got were totally unqualified and two that we did call never showed up for the interview. They charged for services months after we stopped using the service and refused to reverse the charges. I paid over $600 and got absolutely nothing in return accept a headache in trying to get the overcharges reversed, which to date hasn't happened. Terrible service. Stay far, far away.

While I found Zip Recruiter the easiest to set up (compared to Indeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn), the jobs that it selects "for you" are almost always irrelevant. For example, even the most basic AI can pick out that I am mechanical engineer, yet Zip Recruiter shows me everything from electrical engineering roles (somewhat close) to traveling registered nurse role (WTF!?). There is also no way that I have found to provide it with additional information so that it can narrow down the list of available jobs. My profile is very detailed and I'm not sure why Zip Recruiter struggles with this when Indeed does so well with it (almost too good). LinkedIn is a good middle ground between the three (Glassdoor is pretty terrible altogether for job searching).

The free trial arrangement on ZipRecruiter was very deceiving. A rep set it up for me and I actually thought I had a week like most free trials, but it was only two days and then they billed me for $575 for an ad that I received really horrendous candidates on. I called them up to dispute. It was very polite. They refused to do anything for me. It really hit hard because I have cancer and haven’t been working for several months and place this ad to find somebody to help do my job so we can keep our company going. Anyway, don’t use zip recruiter Indeed as much more user-friendly. Their fees are very easy to understand and their people are tremendous. If you have any issues with Indeed they will fix it right away. Again, the reason why I went to zip recruiter was because it was a free ad and they did offer the ability to do a commission base sales rep.

I thought they’d do a thorough job and verifying the employers are legitimate. Instead, I found a lot of fraudulent jobs, and employers that looked on the surface to be legitimate, but were in fact copies. After submitting my information to these “employers” I then received an uncountable amount of spam calls as well as text and emails all phishing for my information. Emails such as follow up with this employer and schedule. An interview only need to be taken to a link that wants me to download something into my phone. Thanks, but no thanks ZipRecruiter. I’m super disappointed, not only that I’m very concerned on where all the information that I submitted on things like my résumé that have everything about me except my date of birth and Social Security number, I don’t know where it went, but it sure wasn’t to a legitimate employer. So thanks for feeding the scam, bots and helping the identity thieves.

I am a dentist operating a dental practice in New Jersey. In approximately June 2025, I subscribed to ZipRecruiter Premium to hire a dental hygienist. After successfully filling the position, I closed my entire ZipRecruiter account, believing this would terminate all services and billing. However, I recently discovered that ZipRecruiter has continued charging my credit card $559.78 every two weeks since June 2025, even though:

I successfully hired a hygienist and no longer needed their services
I closed my account after completing my hiring
I received no notification that charges would continue

I did not use any ZipRecruiter services after closing my account

The total unauthorized charges amount to approximately $7,277.14 (13 billing cycles × $559.78). When I contacted ZipRecruiter customer service, they claimed that, according to their Terms and Conditions, the job posting remained "active" even after I closed my account, and therefore, the charges are valid. This is a deceptive business practice. A reasonable consumer would expect that closing an account would terminate all associated services and billing. I have seen numerous similar complaints on BBB and other consumer review sites, indicating this is a systematic pattern of deceptive billing practices by ZipRecruiter.

I thought this site would help broaden my search. All it did was send me jobs for things I was nowhere near qualified for, like physicians or veterinarians. If they did actually send me a rare qualifying position, it was already at least 1 week expired from last day to apply. I've never left a review for a career assistance finding site before, but definitely felt this needed to be shared. I don't know how to list verified buyer. I screenshot 1 of dozens of emails from ZipRecruiter. I crossed out my email address and name but it'll probably show somewhere here on the review anyway.
