    ZipRecruiter pops up oftentimes with certain jobs. But at the end of the day, it doesn't pop up to ask for any type of profile or to set up something of that nature. It just moves you over to what the job is and about that job. They're not very engaging. They offer a lot of options if you're looking for a particular job and they seem to have what's out there.

    My roommate said that I got a better chance to get a job by putting my profile on ZipRecruiter. Setting it up was pretty straightforward but I didn’t find anything since I put my profile on it nor have I heard anything from any recruiter from there. Maybe it works for others, but not for me. LinkedIn works better than that.

    ZipRecruiter is a valuable tool because it comes with my ADP package, and as a business owner it's a great tool to be able to hire people and not have pay out of pocket for it. It's convenient because they don't have classified sections or Craigslist anymore, so it works well just being able to get some traffic of people looking for jobs. But it would be more beneficial if they’re weeding out so many hits that don't really pertain to the job I'm posting for. Like if I'm posting for a bartender, I'm not looking for a server or a cook, and I don't wanna be bombarded with emails for that kind of stuff.

    I went from finding ex-cons and drug addicts to highly qualified people on ZipRecruiter. It was awesome. I'm quadriplegic, on a self-directed care program, and I was looking for a personal care attendant. I got a three-day trial, and it was a great experience. I got a lot of callbacks and even hired someone through them. Posting jobs was super easy. I just copied and pasted the info I had from the Craigslist ad I was using, made a few changes and I didn’t have any problems with it. It's faster than Craigslist, so I was very impressed.

    If I could afford them, I would use them all the time. It could be more reasonably priced for people in my type of situation, for someone that lives on less than $1,100 a month, that's not making any money, and looking to hire employees to take care of them, but they get paid through the state because the horrible people you find on Craigslist versus using a professional recruiting service like ZipRecruiter, it’s night and day.

    ZipRecruiter was really expensive and I didn’t have much success with it. It seems like a good idea and the website was easy to use, but I was getting a lot of applicants from two hours out of my area. I was getting a bunch from Las Cruces and El Paso, and both of those places are two hours from here. They wouldn’t be able to travel back and forth to work and make any money. If you're in a rural area like I am, it may not work as well because the applicants were coming from too far away.

    I wish I had spoken to a customer service person before I signed up for it. I did have someone call me and he said they have cheaper plans that you pay by the month instead of paying by the week. I wish I would have known that before I started. He also said they could do detailed searches for me and make sure it was in the area and stuff like that.

    I already filled the position, so next time I’ll call somebody from ZipRecruiter and just deal with them instead of trying to do it on my own. But for the amount that I spent to find that one person, I had to cancel it because it was just costing me too much.

    Setting up my profile with ZipRecruiter was cool and the website was easy to navigate. But they never really helped me get a job. Every time I put in my resume and apply for something, nothing ever comes through. I don't get anything from it and it doesn't benefit me. Also, the jobs that I've been receiving from them have always been scam jobs.

    I'm a color guy and that has nothing to do with the site. Sometimes the page can be a little bit boring. It doesn't pop off to me to make me want to go to it all the time. The green and white sometimes is kind of a plain Jane, so it don't make me wanna really go look at it.

    I had an account with Ziprecruiter last summer. After hiring an employee the subscription ran out appx in one month. About the same time I fired this employee and did not have access to the resumes I had gotten while a customer of Ziprecruiter. I contacted them and they agreed to activate my account for 1 month @$10. That was so I could retrieve padt resume for hiring new. What I didn't realize was Ziprecruiter kept taking that monthly out for the following 5 months. The debit card I originally used got compromised and I had to replace it. When I found out about the unauthorized deductions I contacted Ziprecruiter and they said since the original card could not be used to for reimbursement there was nothing they could do. Ziprecruiter told me they could not and would not issue a check for the amount they took from my bank account. So I'm out that money.

    Zip Recruiter use to be useful, however lately while using their platform to search for work and using their filter system, random jobs that have no relation to what I'm searching for would pop up. It's highly annoying and frustrating that I can't search for anything. Not sure what's happened to this website but it's going downhill. Will not be using this platform anymore to search for work until they can filter out jobs better.

    It is a scam. They promise everything you can imagine and the delivery is zero. I had 3 jobs posted and more than 600 dollars wasted with not even one real prospect applying. They are so nice when they are selling their "service" to you but be aware they are scamming you. I placed the same ad in Indeed and 3 days later I had 5 applications.

    I keep applying, some of the companies reach out to me and then ghost me. Plus, some of them don't even contact me. Most of the companies, are scams (had interview on Signal App by texting and left in the middle of it). Some of the companies asked for my bank information before and during interview.

    ZipRecruiter did not work. We tried repeatedly to speak with our rep. She had said, "If you're not getting the right kinds of applications, we can change the wording or the job qualifications. Let's talk a couple of times a week and you let us know if the applicants you're getting are useful." I would call and leave messages every single day saying it was not working and we were not getting applications. I had a very tough time getting her to call me back. She called me twice in the course of an entire month. We were looking for a finance manager and we were getting people who work at McDonald's to apply. It was not a correct kind of person. The job descriptions and/or qualifiers were not set correctly so we were not getting qualified applicants at all. In spite of the fact that I called and complained on a regular basis, nothing happened. They didn't make corrections, extend the listing, and give us our money back. We were not happy.

    ZipRecruiter seemed to think that they can get qualified people faster than anybody else. That was why we used it. Our experience was quite the opposite. They have found no one to fit our needs. We used them a couple of times in the past three years or so. ZipRecruiter might be perfect and great for some industries and work very well for them but for us, it did not seem to work because we need a mechanically inclined person or a good machinist, and machinists just aren't out there. There are a lot of CNC operators but there are no real machinists. So that's where we struggled.

    Ziprecruiter is a good site to use. Setting up our account was very simple, and we got applicants within 24 hours. We got emails, and I could decide whether or not a candidate was a good fit, then I passed the information off if it was. We only had seven applicants, and two of them were worthy for the position. The other ones weren’t the right candidates, but it could have also been because of the way I worded the ad. I got a contact back from Ziprecruiter, a gentleman that I would call next time if I needed any assistance with the site, and he said, “Next time we need to put these keywords for you guys to get a better match.” I said, “Okay.     ZipRecruiter has one of the cleanest and easiest interfaces. Also, their one click apply function was very attractive. I was able to apply for a number of different positions. I had several job interviews. One of them did lead to employment. So overall, it was a much better experience job hunting than I've had with any other website and also been just doing it myself. My husband has been pounding the pavement since September of last year, and he's gotten to the point where ZipRecruiter is the only platform that he uses. He loves it. He loves the simplicity of being able to apply his general skills to every job that he's applying for, and he doesn't have to do the tedious cut and paste. Overall, ZipRecruiter is really easy to use. The number of jobs available is vast so that you have so much better luck finding a job through them than through LinkedIn or Indeed.

Haven’t had any response back from any of the companies so I went to one company that I applied for and was going to introduce myself and see where the process was and they had no idea what I was talking about they haven’t even heard of ZipRecruiter. They never put a job on ZipRecruiter, so I called a couple other companies and said they’re not even hiring. They never put anything on ZipRecruiter fill out applications for the company and the company has no idea about it. Never felt so disappointed.

We have an auto repair business and we require proper licenses and skills for the technician jobs we post. Without fail every time we pay for more guaranteed views, etc.

    I am 53 years old, with an extensive clerical and administrative background dating back over 30 years, and have yet to receive a single offer from anybody I've applied to.     ZipRecruiter is a good search engine. I would rank it amongst my top three, if not number two. They have very easy and quick access which is what I love about them. With the access that I have, like the phone numbers, I can reach out to a candidate right away versus Indeed where I would have to reach out to the candidate via message then get confirmation from the candidate. ZipRecruiter allows me to speed up the process whenever I'm in need. The only thing is the quality of candidates versus Indeed is significantly different. Usually on Indeed, I have more search results. On ZipRecruiter, I get some candidates who don't meet the criteria. I'd ask to see more qualified candidates compared to the ones that we've been seeing.

    If you are a small business owner I strongly suggest not using this awful company. When you post a job they ask you to add this boost and that boost to get more applicants. I did it and received a whopping 9 potential candidates. Then when the boosts are over they don't make it clear that you are still paying a daily fee for your post. So the fees mount up and the candidates don't. I highly recommend using any other job sites but this one. They have great ads but nothing else of substance.

    Our experience with Zip Recruiter was successful. They found a candidate and he started here a couple of days ago. So far, so good. The only thing I did not like about it is that the filtering does not filter out people who are qualified for what I'm looking for. I found that I had to go through so many people who had zero qualifications for the position that I was looking at.

    For instance, I was looking for someone to help out in our production art department and I got respondents like, "I worked on a fishing boat." It had absolutely no experience, no background in what we're doing. I found quite a few of those that didn't have the credentials at all. So I don't know what the filtering does or how you all do the filtering or screening. It felt like I was there for a while. I was bombarded with everything. I hope they can work on that, that will make them all much better. But I like that filtering on my own, I was able to find a couple of needles, in the haystack within the second day.

Create a question or choose from our most "Commonly Asked Questions". You can also turn your question into a “Deal-Breaker Question” to prevent seeing any candidates who do not meet your basic qualifications. This will automatically remove those candidates from your general candidate list. But don’t worry, you can still see and review any unqualified candidates and their profiles, under the “Hidden” section of your Candidates tab.

    I would suggest ZipRecruiter because they still keep on sending me positions for my profession. I was able to upload my resume with ZipRecruiter, although it was frustrating. I've been frustrated for the last four months. It was not easy to find me a job because every time I would click on a position that I was interested in, it wouldn't take me. Instead, it would open up for more positions. It went so many times with all sorts of recruiting companies. It wouldn't open exactly where the link asked me to. I didn't ask for those positions, but they would open. I might have done something wrong or it’s just a matter of my not upgraded resume was not being accepted. If you know what you're doing, go ahead.

    The candidates from ZipRecruiter were not a lot but it was more than what I was getting with Indeed. People should try ZipRecruiter. It’s more effective than some of the other job search engines that I've used and they have customer service reps I could talk to if I needed help. It’s very expensive though.     The world is a different time now, so finding good help is a lot more difficult than it used to be. But I spent a lot of money on ZipRecruiter without even getting applicants at all. Their system is very easy to use and their customer service has been great. The staff if very friendly, too. But even though we had it set on our account that we would only hire within a certain mile radius, the only resumes I was getting were from foreign people from far away.

    We had a regular plan and we were paying what I thought was a high rate to advertise. But then we got a phone call with an offer to essentially spend $1,100 to boost our applicants to the top, where ZipRecruiter starts pushing it, and we didn't get any applicants. Even our ZipRecruiter rep was completely shocked by the turnout of that. So, I would hope that if we're investing money into that to try to find applicants that we just get a return of some applicants or qualified applicants. If we're putting on our account that we don't want to hire outside of 50 miles of our business, we shouldn't even be getting resumes in from people out of the country. So, I have suspended my account with ZipRecruiter and I'll never go back. I switched over to Indeed. Indeed has a free platform and I got a ton of resumes.

    I started using ZipRecruiter when I came back to Colorado from Wichita, Kansas. I saw the advertisement and gave them a try. And ever since then, if I find employment, I stop looking and I notify them that I already found a job so they won't be sending me any more notifications. Setting up my profile is very common sense. If you don't have a resume, you build one up with ZipRecruiter to get everything done. I have resumes, but I've swapped out computers so many times that I've lost them. So I just use the one that's already on there. It's gonna take me longer to build a new resume and then look for it than just filling it out right there on the ZipRecruiter website or the app. My satisfaction is 100% with ZipRecruiter. Use Indeed instead, it is easier to use, less expensive and a lot more qualified candidates will be sent to you. Zip requires a lot more time and work on your end searching out candidates. I will not be using their services in the future. Should've spent the money on Powerball tickets instead... probably better odds of getting something for the money spent.

    There is a fraudulent job posting created with my company name tied to Ziprecruiter from an old ad I placed well over a year ago. The job ad has been posted on the Government of Canada job find website fraudulently using my company name and they are using an old ziprecruiter ad to make the ad appear more legitimate. Ziprecruiter will not remove the ad as I requested and more job seekers are being taken advantage of by being charged an application fee. I have logged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and Ziprecruiter's response was "email us"...which I did both prior to and after filing my complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Ziprecruiter still has not responded appropriately.

    I have had easily half a dozen people apply daily to our company thinking we have availability for a ridiculously high paying position that does not exist. Further, I have been told there is an application fee being charged. I am scared for my safety and the safety of my employees because job seekers are being taken advantage, who knows how someone might retaliate if they blame us for this and Ziprecruiter is not taking this seriously at all. (Maybe they are involved then?).

    I should have known something wasn't right with Ziprecruiter because when I first started using their services back a couple of years ago, I was getting a large volume of applicants that were not Canadian Citizens, not Permanent Residents and not here on work or student visas, even though I had selected from the options menu when creating the ad that applicants must already be in Canada to work for us (we are in the security industry and you must have a canadian provincial issued security licence to actually work as a security agent).

    The fact that this criteria was ignored should have been enough for me to discontinue using Ziprecruiter immediately as there is something very fishy about them taking applicants from out of country when we litterally cannot hire anyone who is not already estabilished in our Province and requested to not accept these applications/resumes. I opened a case with the Federal Government yesterday and this is now being escalated to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre...be careful on how you proceed with any job postings. I sincerely wish that Ziprecruiter would have taken this seriously and would remove the ad as I requested...shame on you Ziprecruiter.

    We spend twice as much on ZipRecruiter as we do for Indeed and we receive about a quarter as many applicants. We are doing a trial right now, and unless something different happens, by the end of the month, we are not going to continue. It might be a better service if we're looking for one or two specific individuals. However, we have a constant need for hiring for an Amazon DSP and we average between three to five people a day. With Indeed, I'm getting about 15 to 20 a day. We're not using ZipRecruiter that much because we're not getting the numbers.

    It also doesn't integrate with any of the apps that we use while a lot of the other sourcing tools that we also use either have built-in integrations with Amazon third party or they have plug-ins that we can use. If we want to take someone from ZipRecruiter and put it into an applicant tracking system, we have to export a document and it'll send us an email. We then click the link in the email, which will give us a sheet, then we have to do a couple of things before it's in a format where we can put it into a Google sheet or an Excel sheet. There isn't a way to bulk import them into an APS that is supported by Amazon.

    I'm sure ZipRecruiter is better than others, but for my specific industry, it might not be the right tool. We're not a huge market. We're in Pittsburgh, but there are about 30 companies that are 200 to 300 people a year because of the turnover. My rep was great and he was trying, but it also wasn't like, "Hey, there's a bunch of other stuff we could be trying right now." It was very much like, "Well, let's give it a shot and see what happens." For us, ZipRecruiter is more expensive, provides less candidates, and there's no way to create a workflow.

    First, I would recommend having a simple title, as any erroneous details can sometimes confuse the algorithm and prevent candidates from being able to view your posting. Remember that Job Seekers often use very simple terms when searching for open positions!

    We would also suggest posting your job in the largest city within 25 miles from where your job is located (you can advise of where the position is actually located within the job description field or by adding a street address)

    Also, be sure to add plenty of keywords or tags under the "Skills" section of your ad. You can enter any desired skills or other keywords relating to the job. This will help your ad to fall higher in the search results and attract more candidates without you needing to spend any extra money.

    I had a huge bill for zero delivery on promised deliveries, I posted a job and hand not even one qualified candidate out of 5 applied in the duration of 3 weeks and it cost me CAD 700. Just a waste of money and cancelation is not easy to process, I wonder how can someone accept to make money of small business and do not even deliver one qualified candidate however I set the 3 qualifiers ahead in a high demanding industry like GENERAL INSURANCE. Honestly I do not recommend them, I was sold on a trial period that found out it is 3 days instead of 30 and yet they tell me it is nonrefundable. THEY FAILED & I PAID FOR THIS FAILURE. DO NOT BECOME THE NEXT ONE DECEIVED.

The promise far exceeds what was expected and given. They stated that they're #1 in the industry to find LOCAL and QUALIFIED employers and that was the furthest from the truth! $850 for one month DOWN THE DRAIN! They stated that they match qualified people to your type of business as well as us being able to link to "great matches". Again, furthest from the truth! We're an automotive repair shop and we were "matched" with technicians that work on equipment (not cars), appliances, etc. and then to warehouse workers, office people and nothing that had to do even with automotive. It wasn't even close. THEN, the people who were qualified were 2+ hours away, even states that were over 900 miles away!! NOBODY LOCAL!

    It was then suggested that we offer those qualified individuals to pay to move them to our area. WHAT A JOKE!!!! That's not the type of work we're in. After 27 days, our rep then told us "Wait! There's more! We can get you a recruiter that's local that can support your business." Well, what did we just pay for for the last 27 days? Since this experience, I went back to Indeed and have 4 qualified individuals (we need two) for FREE!!!!

    We had an ad a couple of weeks and even though we put something very specific on what we wanted, everybody that applied for the job wasn't even close to what we were asking. On top of that, there were people from out of the country. Why would you allow people from out of the country to apply for a job? That doesn't make sense. Some of these people who applied for the job almost like they didn't know what they were applying for. The time before this ad, we used them and we received a couple and we were able to do something there. It wasn't as bad as this last one.

    As a first time user, I called ZipRecruiter to understand how their platform works. I signed up for the "Free" trial which clearly states I will not be charged anything during this time. They require a credit card # which I was hesitant to provide but you cannot place an ad without giving your credit card information. Now I know why! The next day they charged my credit card $25.69. I called to ask why and was told that I selected the 3 day boost for my job ad. I spoke with 3 different people to explain that I am a new user and I thought that meant after the "Free" trial period I would be charged if I continued to run the ad. They refused to refund the $25.69.

    I asked to speak with a manager and was told "I am the manager". I asked for the phone # to their corporate office and was told "You can Google that". At the end of my "Free" trial period I literally had received one resume that was worth calling so their service is also sub-par. I will never use ZipRecruiter again for our hiring needs. We have always been successful using Indeed and their customer service is excellent!

    I used the app on my phone to set up my ZipRecruiter account and it was simple. However, I didn't like that the interview I had today wasn't accurate for what I applied for. The job was completely different. I thought the interview was for a job as a receptionist for a dental office, and another one was supposed to be for a cardiology center, so I brought my resume and everything that I needed for the job. When I went to the employment office and showed the guy the application, he said, “Ma'am, do you speak fluent English and Spanish?” I said, “Sir, what are you talking about?” He said, “Do you speak fluent English and Spanish?”

    I pulled up the application I filled out on ZipRecruiter and the same number that matched the address had called me to set up the interview. The guy said they hired for multiple positions, but at the same time, if I was gonna be interviewed for that position, that's what should have happened instead of asking me if I knew fluent English and Spanish. That was the only issue I've had. Other than that, when it comes to a job reaching out to me, even though Indeed has the one tap where I can press to send my resume, I've never had anybody get back to me. On ZipRecruiter, I've had multiple people view my resume and I can see things happening. They also send me a message or an email and say somebody's reviewed my application how ever many times.

Companies either ask you for money to work or they just don't want to answer questions and make themselves suspicious! My mom called the police because a "company" I have never heard of or applied to sent me a check so they could steal my information! The cops even said "This is a scam!     I am seeking employment and always use indeed but someone had mentionedZipRecruiter and I started looking there. I received emails and texts for jobs that were fake. But, did not realize this until I had an interview for a job that had a website even. So I did the interview on Teams. Answered a bunch of questions spent over an hour. In the end they said I got the job. They would send me a check and I deposit it to purchase supplies. Then send them back the difference. I knew then it was a scam. I tried contacting ZipRecruiter and they have no way of reporting it, because the scammers took down there ad. ZipRecruiter sent me to their website for fraud. They have no way to report if the ad is gone.

    I have deleted all my info on the ZipRecruiter website a month ago. I am still getting emails and texts from scammers saying they got my info off of ZipRecruiter. I get 3 a day at the minimum. Tried reporting again and they send me to "learn about fraud". Well I know about fraud and want to report it. They won't do anything about it. So I have reported this to the FTC and BBB (today) sent the info I saved from the original scam. I have more of them to show proof.

    I will not use or recommend ZipRecruiter and I am reviewing them on every review site I possibly can. I need a job and these scammers are out of hand something needs to be done. I occasionally get a scam on Indeed but that doesn't happen often. Go to Indeed instead. They are not the best but better then these other job websites. I am having the BBB investigate now. ZipRecruiter needs to do something about this. But these scammers pay them they will never do anything about it I believe. If I could do 0 stars this would be the one I would do that with.

    Years ago, our company left ZipRecruiter due to lousy customer service, but we gave them another try today, in hopes they'd improved their processes and their people. But we were AGAIN sorely disappointed. After placing 2 of my 5 ads today, I was prompted to 'verify our company,' which I did with a phone call, as requested. But hours later, I received ANOTHER prompt to do it AGAIN. Already exasperated with having my time wasted, I was treated to an obnoxious, pompous twit named JAMES. FOUR times, he told me to 'refresh my screen,' as if I were an idiot or a feeble child. His condescending tone was beyond unprofessional, but he THEN became THREATENING when he told me that 'he could just CANCEL my account' if he wanted. (BIG TALK for a useless, customer service mouthpiece!) Of course, I told him to CANCEL IT.

    Someone needs to clue James into the fact that it's solid companies like ours that PAY HIS PAYCHECK. Frankly, we've been in business MUCH longer than ZipRecruiter, and it is not by accident. WE ACTUALLY HAVE STANDARDS, TRAIN OUR PEOPLE, & OUR CUSTOMERS COME FIRST. If ZipRecruiter hires ignoramuses like James, it is inconceivable that such a company can help OUR 35-year company to hire ANYONE. ZipRecruiter has extremely LOW STANDARDS for their own employees. Don't bother with ZipRecruiter. There are plenty of other PROFESSIONAL options out there!

    So I signed up for Zip Recruiter and used their free trial which from my experience went well so I continued to use them. I posted a couple more job postings that were 3 day post for $11 each day which I paid for. I go back onto my account and they charge me $525 for those post even though I chose the 3-day option so they closed my account because I did not pay for that $525 and was unable to close the jobs because of it. I go back to try to pay that $525, they charged me another $560 for the same post that I couldn't close because my account was suspended! I call customer service and they said they will keep charging me until I pay for those invoices of $1,085 total and it was nothing but 10 candidates through 3 job post on top of that.     Zip Recruiter is ridiculously expensive, a lot of the time sending you candidates that are nowhere near qualified for the job but of course you get billed for them.

    I had a posting looking for a construction manager, most people were nowhere near qualified and a few of them currently working at McDonald’s as a fry cook but saying they’re qualified for the position. And of course we got billed for this.

    Additionally, during this time my card was hacked. So of course they could not bill me, I received three nasty emails from them with red lettering telling me I better pay or else. Will not use again. RIPOFF.

They have this box that you have to accept "daily subscription" that you think is for the ad you are running. Then the candidates that they send you don't meet the criteria that you asked for. You get frustrated and pull the plug on the ad. But then you realize after you keep getting billed for $504 that they deceived you and you are still getting billed even though you no longer have an ad listed. Their catch line is (guaranteed qualified candidate in the first day) that is a false statement.     I returned to the ZipRecruit platform looking for new work after about a 2 year hiatus. I logged in and updated my profile and attempted to apply for a job. I received an error, however, that my current email needed to be updated to proceed. Not sure why, I changed it to a backup with the intention of reverting it back to the original email (I didn't want potential employer messages sent to my backup). Although when I tried to switch it back, the platform sent me an error message that my professional email was invalid, even though I had just signed in with it.

    I reached out to their support department and they were dismissive of my claims, telling me that I needed to reset my browser's cache and cookies and that's all that could be done. I wasn't very happy with being brushed off and made another request, this time having my ticket reviewed by the internal team. After a few days, I was told that my problem could not be resolved and that I would have to live with using my backup email, despite their platform forcing me to change it. So now my resumé and my cover letters direct communication to my professional email, but ZipRecruiter points to a janky backup email. I'm not inclined to use the Zip Recruit platform now because it will supply my backup email for communications which is not where I field new work opportunities. Not happy that my profile was forced to be incorrect.

    As an employer, we used ZipRecruiter multiple times; it was a huge and costly fiasco to say the least. After brief phone interviews, I set up countless meetings with no show candidates. Very few prospects had information, specifically past employment history that could be verified. The few candidates that we ended up hiring ended up being dishonest, unreliable, drug using thieves costing us even more time and money.

    A year or so later, I was desperate and tried ZR again. I was careful to manage my expectations, knowing that maybe three out of ten might show up. I even concluded my phone calls asking them to please call if they changed their mind. Again, I tried out a few guys - one was actually homeless in glaring contrast to his application. We decided to give him a chance, regardless. This person ended up ruining our reputation with multiple contractors and customers. I could go on for hours with dozens of horror stories about the candidates that we found on this site.

    As employers we pay very competitively, treat our employees extremely well, and give plenty of chances but were still unable to find any reliable, trustworthy, people with any ounce of work ethic. I will point out that we had similar experiences with other agencies. Suffice it to say that sadly we seem to have entered a new level of low when it comes to finding quality people in the work force.

    Out of desperation I signed up for Ziprecruiter in hopes of finding quality candidates for my small business (cafe). They did not send me a single good candidate. I would get emails saying "great match" only to see that the candidate had zero experience related to the job openings. Also, it is misleading to promise employers a searchable database of candidates when you cannot view any resumes without upgrading from the already expensive $500 plan.

    I was contacted by a sales rep trying to upsell me yet another $300+ to boost the job listings because they weren't getting views despite the rep acknowledging that the keywords, job titles, location, etc. were fine. Luckily I was smart enough that time to say no and cancel the subscription before being charged another $500 for NO RESULTS.     I was contacted by Joshua several times with ZipRecruiter about posting my job needs on their platform for candidates. During my free trial period I had not found any candidates that matched my needs or came close to matching my needs. ZipRecruiter uses a lot of click bait to attract companies to their site. After my free trial Joshua reached back out to me assuring me that I needed to leave my post up for longer and stated I should get a subscription and they would drive more candidates to my post. I got the subscription on 5/19/2022 and today is 06/03/2022 as of today I have only found 3 candidates out of 149 that have come close to my needs. My post was for licensed plumbers, but I was getting everything but what my job description and skillset was targeting.

    When I reached out to my acct person Joshua twice via email be did not respond, so I reached out to ZipRecruiter chat and was told that I could cancel my subscription, but I would not be refunded and we are charged for a full month upfront. When I raised concerns about the length of time and not finding any candidates the rep told me there was nothing she could do. I then asked for a Supervisor and was told there was nobody available for her to escalate the call to and again I was told there are no refunds.

    Explain to me if it's been 11 business days and I've only identified 3 candidates out of 149 that could possible be a fit and the others are candidates that have been recycled or have no resumes to match beneficial to our company. It is a waste of money and time, when it comes to skilled labor workers. PLEASE DO NOT USE ZIPRECRUITER!!! They bait you in and most of the resumes are old and out dated and the candidates that apply to skill specific jobs don't have the experience, certifications or licenses you are requiring for them to do the job.

    The absolute WORST hiring platform. Please believe the 1 star reviews as these are the honest ones, all the 5 stars must be fake and paid for. I posted on both ZipRecruiter AND Indeed. The difference was astounding in both quantity of candidates and quality, as in - matching the job description! They go on and on about their superior visibility on job boards and being able to outperform the competition. Don't fall for it! They make you pay $500-$700 UPFRONT to get started. Indeed only charges you PER CANDIDATE that YOU APPROVE! Think about that. It's not a money back guarantee, but it does give you some control over what you are paying for. Do yourselves a big favor and avoid these people, I can't believe they have a good rating with industry professionals. Must be back pocket payoffs.

    I was told that Zip Recruiter had hundreds of candidates in their database that would match my position by Darryl ** the rep that co texted me. It was a licensed Virginia State police safety inspector. We were looking for a mechanic who was also safety inspector licensed. Virginia requires that every vehicle that is registered and has license plates get a Virginia safety inspection. So this is a very common thing in the state. He told me there was hundreds of licensed safety inspectors in his database looking for employment in my immediate area. I explained to him in detail that we were a brand new business and that I did not have a lot of money for an ad. I just wanted to post one for a couple days to see how it went.

    He aggressively tried to sell me on something more. Pretty much told me that it wouldn’t work at all unless I did the full month. That it needed time to build candidates. I reluctantly agreed after he promised to throw in a $60 upgrade. So he looked at the ad that I wrote and totally rewrote it. The next day I checked my account and guess what, I was not only charged the $400 for the month for one ad, I was also charged the $60 that was promised for free. After a couple emails this finally got credited back.

    After about 10 days I did not get one candidate that was licensed. I don’t know what kind of algorithm they use or who is doing the matching, but this was a very specific job. The person had to be licensed by the Virginia state police as a vehicle safety inspector. They matched me with forklift drivers, general laborers, and waitresses. All the rest of the candidates had no information except a name. It was probably the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.

    After about two weeks somebody contacted me about why we weren’t getting any good candidates, and his first answer was it was because the ad was written wrong, lol! I guess he didn’t get the memo that they wrote the ad. Then he said it was because I needed to spend more money. I mean who would spend more money on something that was yielding zero results! He refused to cancel the membership at that time I had to pay for the entire month even though all of the promises they made were lies. I told him I wanted it to cancel as soon as the month ended.

    Another week later another rep contacted me trying to sell me more product. I told him that I had already set it to cancel and this is the one thing that I am thankful for, was if he didn’t call then I would’ve been charged again for another month that I could never get back. Because they never put in the cancellation. After a few choice words it was finally canceled!

    Do not believe them when they tell you they have multiple candidates in your field. I don’t know what field this works for but automotive is not one of them. Yes you will get applicants! But I would have better results standing in my front yard holding up a sign. None of these people were even close to being right for this position. I told him specifically from the very beginning that this person had to be licensed, why they were sending me random waitresses and laborers I have no idea. That would be fine if it was even a license that could be gotten easily, but it is not. This is a position where you need to be licensed prior to being hired.

    Maybe if you have thousands and thousands of dollars to spend on one employee this will work for you but if you’re a small business don’t even try it. I yielded better results from Craigslist. One $25 Craigslist ad got me 10 applicants, three of which were actually licensed, one of which I hired. This has been the worst waste of money. If you just feel like you want to get rid of 500 but should be better to use it as toilet paper.

    The salesperson, Alfred **, tried to high pressure sell me on my first call with ZipRecruiter, which should have been an indication for me to not do business with them. However the following week I reluctantly agreed and that was a huge mistake. I got zero qualified candidates despite being promised a huge number of candidates and there was absolutely zero follow up or customer support. This company is not about helping business owners find qualified applicants but rather they are all about taking your hard earned money. I signed up for a month and within a couple of weeks I wanted to terminate their service or should I say lack thereof and I wanted a refund, but of course I was told by a rude customer service rep that that ain’t happening. Typical poor customer experience all the way around.

    After placing an ad on ZipRecruiter I was contacted by a salesman that offered a next level service that included curated resumes from people who didn't want to answer help wanted ads and who instead were relying on ZipRecruiter to connect them with qualified employers. The salesman showed me a website that listed 10 candidates that he said met all the requirements of our initial ad and were in the same town as my business as well as additional people in surrounding towns.

    The resumes we received were not from our industry as promised, not in our town and had limited skills from related industries. The salesman was supposed to call in a week to make sure we were satisfied. He never did. His parting comment from our original conversation is he wouldn't want me to write a bad review if he didn't deliver on his promises, so he was going to make sure that he did. The service was supposed to be a trial, so I assumed it would be 30 days. ZipRecruiter continued to charge my credit card after the trial ended.

    The first mistake I made was believing the salesman. The second was hoping the resumes they were sending would get better. The third was not realizing the original help wanted ad had an automatic renewal and when the salesman switched me to the new service the auto renewal applied. It should have switched back to the less expensive help wanted ad if I didn't renew the upgraded service or at least someone should have contacted me to see if I wanted to continue the service.

    By not paying attention ZipRecruiter charged my credit card for the initial $1720.25 upgrade as well as 2 additional months at $2093.06 each. When I emailed the salesman someone else answered and customer service refunded the charge they had just made. When I asked about the first 2 charges and explained I didn't receive what I was promised there was no response. Because I didn't catch it earlier Visa said it was on me to monitor and cancel the ZipRecruiter service if I wasn't satisfied.

    Beyond the salesman lying about the candidates he had to offer, ZipRecruiter relies on you getting busy and not monitoring renewal dates and then hiding behind the auto renewal rules in their contract that are then backed up by Visa. ZipRecruiter does not send an email notifying you they are renewing your contract for another month or an email acknowledging they have charged your credit card. Most subscription companies with auto renewing policies do. Well maybe just the reputable ones. I'll never place an ad with ZipRecruiter again, but others will, and many will make the same mistakes I did. I hope you're not one of them.

    Negative stars. This is a scam agency. They have a "free" trial to try it for free and instructions on how to cancel within a certain time. My invoice should have been $64.00, but they said that I never cancelled online and charged $512.00. No one, not one single candidate with any qualifications applied or was suggested by the app. I called to resolve and this scam is good... they say that you didn't cancel... you have no proof... the web page says that your jobs are cancelled but they keep charging. If I hadn't have gotten an email telling me a new candidate applied, it would still be charging us. I don't think this is a mistake, this is intentional and they know exactly what to tell you when you call. But the answer is you lose.

    I have found that Ziprecruiter is easy to use. Their website and mobile app features many relevant jobs that fit my background and experience. They also send me emails suggesting job matches.     Several years ago, not too long after ZipRecriter was launched, I started using their services for support of my Professional employment search. From the beginning, I found them to be Fresh and Inspiring making it easy for data input and found it more responsive from prospective employers than any other current job boards at the time. After experiencing this new brand, I became a Billboard for my friends, colleagues and family thereafter. Now years later after Semi-Retiring, I've decided to update my resume in hopes to secure a Remote Design/Drafting position with an Architectural, Engineering and/or Contractor firms.     Zip Recruiter points candidates to thoughtful opportunities. Their big picture understanding of skills profiles and corporate cultures is masterful. Can you imagine a Ph.D. with tech writing and editing experience - semi-retired - receiving leads for jobs like "fork lift driver!." That has not happened with Zip Recruiter, because they do their homework because they send a lead.
