Our job posting was seeking an individual with front desk office experience, preferably medical, to answer phones and take messages, check people in and out, and collect payments. The results that came up from our ad produced many resumes of people who had no office experience at all. These resumes included people who worked in fast food chains, beauty shops, spas, gyms, and retail stores.

Also, there were a limited amount of resumes of people who lived within a reasonable distance from our practice, in fact some were from 50 to 100 miles away. It would be very helpful if employers had the ability to limit their search by mileage and previous experience, for example, 'front desk receptionist' and living within 25 miles of job. Or ZipRecruiter might use narrowing categories for the employer to choose from in order to get resumes of people who have the experience for which they are seeking. After a m onth of using ZipRecruiter, we were very disappointed and cancelled the ad. We are still seeking to fill our position, but through other means.

I work for a staffing company and have used ZipRecruiter for 5 years. They used to be great. But the last 2 years have been anything but. Last year I had 50 job openings posted and in 5 days got over 350 applicants. In a middle of a pandemic! The same jobs posted for the same time period this year and I have 37 applicants. 1/10th of what they did last year. 18 of the ads have been viewed by no one! Last year I was paying $1400/month for the ads. This year they want $3000. They recommended opening a new account. Did that. Paid $2000 for 20 ads. Barely any improvement. This company used to be great…. Now you should use indeed or Glassdoor.

I have been using Zip Recruiter since the day it has launched. They provide quality, well-formed descriptions of the available positions and keep you updated as to when you applied for the position. They also look at your background and see if you would be a good match for the job you may be applying for, and also send you emails before you even know if the job is on the market that you would be a great fit.

The last time I was unemployed and needing to find work, this site was fairly new (at least I think so; I hadn't heard of it). The site was easy to use and navigate. Once I set up my profile, the rest was simple. I'd type in keywords of the type of positions I was looking for and ZipRecruiter provided a list of available options in my area. I simply chose to submit my resume, or bypass the option. I was able to submit my resume/application to several different places a day. The bittersweet aspect was it became difficult to keep up with how many places I was submitting to, in the efforts of following up with my options later. A very positive negative, and one of the easiest job searching sites I've come across. I would highly recommend this site/app to anyone in need of a job/career.

Whether or not to utilize ZipRecruiter for your job search is a no-brainer. To me, their greatest feature is the 1-Click Apply. Once you've done the preliminary work to upload a current resume, ZipRecruiter begins your job search, matching skills reflected in your resume with those requested and/or required by their Client Company's job description(s). ZipRecruiter will then email several positions to the candidate from which to choose. And, too, if you are skilled for a position that you apply to, they inform you if a particular skill or skillset is not reflected in your resume. The legwork is done by ZipRecruiter, so do yourself a favor and allow them to work with you.

NO 1: They use the location of where your IP Address enters the cloud as the location of your job posting. My network connection was 200 miles away, therefore it kept reporting that applicants were to far away and would hide them automatically; this makes me believe it is also telling applicants that they are applying to a job that is 200 miles away. I suggested they use the zip code of the job location that employers fill out when posting a job; they said they'd send that suggestion to their programming dept. This is probably why some folks complain about not getting applicants.

NO 2: Monthly Fees - They charge monthly fees for different "plans" which may range from $319 - $699 whereas companies like Indeed let you post a free listing or set a daily budget starting with $10 to boost your posting; so you could technically get an applicant for little or no money. The issue with ZipRecruiter is when you only need to hire one employee and you only need an ad out there for a day or two, you have to pay for a whole month... then you have to cancel their "auto-renew" setting, which is the next problem.

NO 3: Auto-Renew.... When you give them your credit card and select a plan, the automatically set your subscription to "auto-renew" every month. I searched their FAQ's to see how you shut that off and I came across their tutorial on selecting the "Cancel Auto-Renew" option located at... My Account\Subscription\Overview on their website. The option doesn't do anything... tried different browsers... nothing. I started a chat session and their support guy, Daniel, informs me that you have to call them to cancel auto-renew and how it's in their policy to do so.... and has been for 5 years now. So, they had 5 years to update their tutorial and shut down that function on their web page but would rather give us all a history lesson on their policies... Makes perfect sense.

NO 4: Unqualified Applicants - ZipRecruiter will inform you of all kinds of applicants that you may want to invite to apply; the problem is, they are usually not relevant to your job position. If you post a job for a Janitor, you may get suggestions to invite people who are nurses, doctors, lawyers, construction workers etc... I'm not really sure how they get all that mixed up but, it seems ZipRecruiter thinks they're helping you out.

I tried ZipRecruiter for 1 week and gave up; I receive 3 applicants in 1 week, two of which never responded (probably riding the unemployment train)... but... I did hire the one that did show up. When I post on Indeed however, I will usually see at least 10 applicants a day. My overall take on comparing the two companies... You don't always get what you pay for; sometimes cheaper or free is better.

The field is crowded. Countless providers publish lists of jobs selected for me based on my background and listed job interests. (I have an MBA, 20+ years of experience and am looking for a senior level opportunity in Finance) However, the quality of the lists are generally poor. Consider the following: Supplier 1- Identified 42 jobs selected just for me; 30 of which are either drivers, warehouse workers or telephone banks. 5 jobs are in the medical field. (No love there) and an array of lists promising numerous unnamed opportunities paying from $12 to $50 per hour. Those are all worthwhile jobs, but not what I am looking for nor jobs for which I am qualified.

Supplier 2. Promises jobs quickly based on my search criteria. Results, over 20 jobs in trucking, maintenance and warehousing. All fine opportunities, but a waste of time for an aging financial analyst. Although they do claim to have a job with Tesla... Supplier 3 Claims to have positions "curated" just for me. Claims to have 5,000 financial jobs. But before you see them, you must "register" giving your name address phone number and e-mail. The lists are a dubious and not remotely on point. However, my Junk Mail and Phone solicitations rise exponentially... Oh, so that is the game.

I could describe a number of other suppliers just like the list above, But all I really need is Zip Recruiter. How are they different? Selection of opportunities which closely reflect my search. Quick process to apply. Feedback when the employer looks at your resume Additional feedback if the employer looks at your resume more than once. Advises you when the search is closed. Develops a short, but high quality list of alternatives. I feel like they are on my team. It is easy to waste time during you job search. Stay focused. Work with your search partner. Zip Recruiter. Best regards to all and keep your head up. The perfect job is waiting for you.

ZipRecruiter is a wonderful way to find the job you are looking for. They have a very clear way to see the job description and understand what I need to do to apply for the position. Then they will follow up on where the application is in process. I like ZipRecruiters.

I've gotten quick feedback leading up to agencies and it was all smooth. I literally got emails from jobs directly. And I think that's so strong for people who have trouble finding it themselves. My experience has been a brief one, and I have not yet received any offers for interviews, though so far it seems very efficient and user friendly. I think many people are skeptical of job websites because if you're not actually sending an email yourself most of the time. The one click application process takes much of this stress away, if only because you can apply for jobs at a much higher rate.

My experience with ZipRecruiter has been productive. The jobs I list are the jobs they send; they are timely, relevant, share the employer name and the purpose behind their mission is executed well. The best feature -- and I am calling it a "feature," at this point -- is ZipRecruiter does not send one down a rabbit hole to apply for a job. Thank you. I really appreciate the assist and follow-up!!

Advertised for hiring position and they did not come through at all. I called three times during the month to try to get more applicants. I tried everything they recommended to get hires. The last person I spoke with was Michael and he assured me that I should have received many more applicants. He again went over things. He told me I would at least get a partial refund at the end of the month. When the month was over all I got was, "We can give you a credit to advertise with us again." I would never recommend this company. They do not do anything to help after the sale. I was always the one to make the call to customer service. They have your money and they are done with you. Expensive lesson. Learn for me leave them alone.

I placed an ad on Ziprecruiter the exact same day that I placed one on Indeed. In just 4 days I received 7 applications on Ziprecruiter and 49 on Indeed. When I went to cancel the ad on Ziprecruiter they tried to upsell me stating that I needed to spend more money. The Indeed package cost me $280. Ziprecruiter stated that I need to spend nearly $1000.00 to get more applicants. I'm sure that I'll just stick with Indeed. Now hopefully they will shut off my ad and not charge me more. We'll see!!

I was then charged over $500 at the end of the second month as if it were never canceled. Without getting one single job application for my area. When I called customer service I was denied a refund of any kind.

They have my phone number now and have been sending me robotic texts about "jobs" at 2am, 3am, and 11pm. This is ridiculous-don't waste your time with these guys. This is an un-monitored site and use your info for phishing and spamming. Use Indeed instead.

ZipRecruiter makes it claim “ZipRecruiter is a leading online employment marketplace that leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered smart matching technology to actively connect millions of employers and job seekers. We have over 700 employees in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and Israel. Our headquarters is located in Santa Monica, California.”

I, like many others turned to ZipRecruiter for Employment. I created an account and filled out the online Resume along with the profile information with the expectations of applying to my prospects directly from ZipRecruiter as you would in their competitor's Website like Indeed etc... The next step I took is the same logical step anyone else would have and that is to search for Employment... I click on the link to view the Employer’s listing generated by ZipRecruiter’s smart AI program...

I was matched up as described by ZipRecruiter but...their smart AI only redirects you to ANOTHER Employment Agency like Indeed, CareerBuilder, and others the majority of the time. They have a One-Click apply button but it seems to appear on only few listings. So, is it necessary to fill out a Resume with ZipRecruiter or use it at all? Consider this, every time you’re redirected to a ZipRecruiter competitor’s employment listing on the competitor's website you will have to create another account, fill out ANOTHER resume, and search again for Employment. Is this worth your time? A smart consumer would use this only to generate leads and fill out your application on at the Employer Career Website.

I signed up for a legit job posting for $30 at which I gave them my credit card info. The invoice described the job posting as “no plans”. Then unbeknownst to me, Ziprecruiter was charging my credit card $500 every 3 weeks. When I complained, they said I clicked a tick box (with very small fonts) that I apparently agreed to a free trial period and $24/day subscription. I do not recall doing this. I also got the invoice via email for the first legit transaction and all of the five $500 invoices, I never got an invoice. I was also not informed that any trial period was over. I also did not get any viable leads.

Worse, I was just informed by Ziprecruiter that I allegedly signed up for another subscription on 11/1/2020. That was the day I found out about the charges and logged in to STOP the posting. I was very careful and diligent and purposeful to STOP the posting and very intentional not to agree to anything else. And for some reason, their website picks up that I signed up for another subscription? It’s outright fraud. Do yourself a favor. Stay away from them. Not to be trusted at all.

This is not a search firm. It is unlikely that the information you provide ever makes it to an employer. You must apply directly to the employer. You will end of on a list for many other online recruit robots. There will be nobody to talk to and no way to gage progress. It is a sneaky way to gain access to your information and they must make money on it somehow. I believe it is solely an automated program running out of somebody’s garage in Santa Monica.

The site is okay I suppose. It sends you to a lot of different sites instead of strictly staying on their own. Some of those sites are not legit. I had a couple of “job offers” listing themselves as being from a Zip Recruiter job listing that were not legit. I do wish they would send more diversified and updated daily job listings. If you accidentally click on a job then that’s all you get in the daily listings. I replied to an email they sent telling them I’m not interested in an OTR driving job but I get tons of notices for it anyways.

You register online, you download your resume to them and it’s smooth sailing after that. They don’t bug you. You never have to communicate with them via phone and they don’t ask you 1 million questions. You just sign up, download your resume and they send the emails.

ZipRecruiter is great! They have a lot of jobs to offer and I appreciate the "check in--did you get a job yet?" as well as sending you a list of the jobs you have put in for. The only concern I have is sometimes a job listing would disappear once I clicked on the icon or I would receive an error message. This doesn't happen a lot but it happens enough to cause a concern, in my opinion. Not sure if it is on ZipRecruiter's end or the company looking to hire. However, ZipRecruiter should check for these errors more.

I'm also a nursing student. Well I was sent jobs for Physician or nurse. I'm CLEARLY not qualified. They pulled from key words on my resume. I like this ZipRecruiter job search but the thing is is that you get so many emails. They keep sending me things for nursing jobs and I've never been a nurse and I hate the thought of being a nurse because it's gross to me. I wish they would stick with more of like what I'm headed for because they send me so many random things. The email seeing personal so I have tried to reply to one of them and it's just a computer response so I mean it's kind of weird but it's better than no communication and it gives me a lot of job options. The only thing is is I have to apply through them I can't just apply to the company so that part's a little weird and they have a lot of random ones that they send me the same thing over and over again. I'm not sure if those are really real or not because there's a lot of repetitive ones that I get that I've been getting this whole last year.
