Was having small, dark particles on clothes and in tub after wash cycle completed. Ran 3, hot-water, cleaning cycles with Allfresh which only seemed to make it worse (more particles). Tried to get the bottom washer plate off to look for crud underneath but was unable to remove bolt. Contacted Allstate Warranty online for help, describing the problem and what I had done. Response (email) was almost immediate. Local repair service contacted me the next day, scheduled an appointment for a tech to come and further diagnose/repair the problem. He was able to remove the bottom tub plate, finding a great deal of scum needing to be cleaned out, although he said compared to others he had seen, mine was fairly clean. No other problems were found. But...

After he left, I ran two loads of white and still found particles on clothes and in tub - although significantly less. Notified Allstate Warranty the problem had not been resolved. They're prompting me now for follow-up details (detailed problem description, pix, etc). Finally opted to run two cleaning cycles using industrial grade (30%) vinegar and baking soda (suggested by the repairman), which helped. I'm no longer seeing any particles on clothes or in tub.

After running one more load of whites and seeing no particles, will notify Allstate the problem seems to be solved. A benefit of having the serviceman come is that the bolt holding the bottom tub plate on is not as tight - I can now remove it, so if the problem reappears, I'll be able to look under the plate to see if another crud/scum buildup needs to be cleaned out. The response from Allstate/Square Trade was exceptionally good - immediate response and good scheduling to get a repairman to me. Additionally, I'll follow the repairman's suggestion to use Allfresh tub cleaner weekly, and the 30% vinegar/baking solution, perhaps monthly. Also, my dealings with the repair company, Chambers Services (Illinois), was straightforward, without hassle. The repairman was pleasant and thorough, and answered all of my questions. My LG washer had no mechanical problems beyond my possible failure to clean it often enough. It was a good experience overall.

My wife was washing a load on our LG washing machine. A sheet got stuck up under the agitator and when we got it out, the washing machine wouldn't drain. The water would sit about halfway in the tank. I called Allstate and they sent a repairman. He did a test and it seemed it was working fine. It was draining. Then when he left, my wife tried to put a load of clothes in the washing machine. Every time it would go to the spin cycle, it would make a loud noise, like something was loose inside the machine.

The repairman came back out and changed the agitator in it. He pulled the back cover off and he looked up under the machine to see if there was something that was causing it to make the noise. He couldn't find anything and he told me if it continued to do it, to call him back. It was like they were in a hurry to get to the next customer. They weren't trying to see what the issue at hand was. I got discouraged for him coming out twice and I'm still having the issue with the machine. I also had to wait a week then another week.

I called Allstate and told them I was not satisfied with the LG product, that I've been having the issue for over a month, and that my wife had to take clothes to the local laundromat to wash clothes. They said they'd put in a second claim and the decision that they made was they could either give me another machine or I could get another credit at Home Depot. I told them I'm not satisfied with the machines we got from Home Depot and that I wanted to buy one from another location. They gave me a refund of what I paid for the machine and for the tax. I asked if they were gonna come and pick up the washing machine and they said no.

As far as helping me out, seeing me through and doing what they said they were gonna do, I was satisfied with Allstate and I would recommend them to a friend. They were prompt. I talked to the representatives, and they followed through with what they said. It got to the point where they told me, “If you don't get an email today, call us back tomorrow.” Allstate is a good insurance and I was satisfied with the price too.

I bought a washer and dryer about two and a half years ago from Home Depot, and I liked the thought of having the coverage past the manufacturer's coverage date, which is this year. So, I bought the Allstate protection plan from them as well. When I had water accumulating under the detergent door and running down the side of the unit to the floor, it was easy to file a claim through a phone call. The only thing was that the person I spoke to asked me to check the hose. I said I couldn’t and I asked her to send somebody here.

I was connected to a company that wound up without any communication at all. The man was extremely rude. I was supposed to have a 10 AM to 12 o'clock noon window. And at 3:30 in the afternoon, he showed up without any apology or any consideration. I told him he was three and a half hours past his window and I've sat here my entire day waiting for him. There was no response. It made me angry that he didn't even have the decency to say he was sorry or that he got tied up. So, I cancelled the appointment. I told him the service was poor. And he left.

I called Allstate back and rescheduled. I said I didn’t want that company and that person to come again, and to schedule me with someone else. And they did. On Day Two, the one that they scheduled didn't come in at all. I found the text that they're coming on Sunday morning. So, I called back and asked if they made a mistake. It's not an emergency and I asked why they were bringing somebody out on a Sunday. I thought it was going to cost more money to do that. And they said that's the way it is. But the repair person did not show up at all, and I was annoyed. These service plans are either not what they were, or this is a crappy one. They automatically, without even calling me, rescheduled me. I got an automated message on Sunday night that the techs are coming on Monday between 10:00 and 12:00. This time, I was sitting and waiting. My husband and I were doubtful. At 12 o'clock, no one was here.

I called Allstate back again and asked if someone was coming. I told them it was the third time and I was waiting for somebody. So, the rep said she would call them and would let me know. She called back to say that the tech was late but he would be here. The guy came. But he also didn't speak at all. There was no discussion. No communication. I showed him where the leak was coming from. I had taken a video of it, and he opened it up and looked. He said he didn’t see anything wrong and that it was dry, and he left. He documented that he couldn't find anything leaking. I did laundry, and water was coming out from the drawer where you put the detergent. It was dripping down from there but I could still use the machine.

I got an email from Allstate saying they couldn't fix it or couldn't find anybody to send out. I couldn't understand that. They gave me the authority to hire somebody on my own and said that they would reimburse me for the cost of the visit, as well as the parts. I called a repair person, and I am waiting for him to find the time to come here to do it. So, I haven't even had it fixed yet. Allstate texted me, and if I agreed to find somebody on my own, they would send me $100. I have 30 days to get somebody here to correct the issue. I came away from thinking that protection plans are useless. I was not feeling good about it. It just seems surprising to me that the guy couldn't figure it out. But I feel as though I can count on Allstate to resolve my issue and support me through this. I feel confident that Allstate will stand by this and straighten it out.

      Reviewed June 10, 2026

I submitted a claim with Allstate because the bottom of my LG refrigerator stopped making ice and it was not freezing. We had an error code that said FF on it. The guy came out. He replaced the fan assembly down in the freezer, which includes two fans, and he said a thermostat. It was all one big piece. He replaced it. I asked him before he left if he could turn the refrigerator back on. He didn't even plug it back in, so that concerned me. He left around 6:30 that night, and in the morning, when I woke up, there was a really loud noise coming from my kitchen, and it ended up being the replacement part. Really loud, and it was not cooling correctly again.

Now, it's not just my freezer, but my refrigerator is not cooling properly. Because we keep the thermostats in both of them, and it was 46 degrees in my refrigerator, and it was set for 36. I let them know it’s making a really loud noise, and it’s now the refrigerator and the freezer are not cooling properly. The guy came back from the same company, and he asked me if there was a fan in the refrigerator. I was thinking he should know this. But I was polite, and I said, “I have no idea. But my husband, who's a mechanic, said that the noise is coming down below in the back, where the parts that you replaced.” He said, “No, I think it's coming from up above the refrigerator.” He asked me if there's a refrigerator fan. I said, “I don't know, but I can try to pull a schematic up on the refrigerator.” He said, “Oh, no. I think it's the refrigerator fan.”

I said, “I don't. This noise just started after you replaced this piece. And if you pull the fridge out from the wall and put your head down there, you'll hear that it's coming from down below.” Long story short, he took everything back out. My husband felt that it wasn't seated properly, the part that he put in, so that the fan was hitting something. That's why it was making a loud noise. He didn't want to hear it, but yet he was like, “That's weird.”

He took it out, put it back in. Now, there's no noise anymore. I said, "Okay, what about the cooling? I have a problem now with my refrigerator.” He said, "You just need to give it time to work.” I said, " Okay." I've been giving it time, checking on it, and the ice maker stopped making ice. It was set at zero. I had to move it down to -3. Then I had to lower my refrigerator to 34.

When Allstate called me to ask how the repair was, I was like, ”No, it's really noisy, and now it's not cooling.” They said, “We have to take care of the noise first.” I said, “Okay. Just so you know, I want it documented that neither is cooling properly.” And she said, “Okay.” But then she must have done another order, ‘cause she sent two new parts. And the guy's supposed to come today from a different repair company called Home Solutions. I'm not there, but I made arrangements for my son to be there. I got a text from the repair company this morning saying that they canceled. I called AllState. But they said, "No, it wasn't canceled.” Then he called the Home Solutions repair place just to verify, and the customer service has been wonderful.

They definitely are trying to help me. So, he asked me to hold. He called them. They said it's still on their list to come today and repair my refrigerator. But I have a feeling it's going to be a no-show today. But hopefully, that won't be the case. So, so far, I'm not thrilled. My refrigerator doesn't work. Thank God, we have a refrigerator in the garage, and I put everything that I could in our garage fridge. But everyone at AllState has been very friendly and helpful. And they don't just blow me off. Their customer service is exceptional. The follow-through with the warranty repairs is mediocre. Hopefully, they're really coming today.

Generally, when I purchase something, especially online or even sometimes in the store, they ask if I want to extend the warranty and I generally do, depending on the price of the product, if it's a more expensive product, like a PlayStation or a television. I've been buying stuff for years, and I'm sure I've had to deal with Allstate before, but the newest one was with the PlayStation. I paid 36 bucks to cover it.

I filed a claim through Allstate and the only problem I had was I was out of town working. I ended up being on the phone with a gentleman, and he walked through the process. I said, “okay. Well, let's get it going.” the gentleman advised we were all good to go, but he needed photos, which prohibited me from proceeding. It was no big deal though. I asked my wife to take some pictures and send them to me. When I went to the link the gentleman sent, it was forcing me to use that link to use my camera to take the pictures. So, I sent a link to my wife. When I got back to the house on a Friday, I redid it, but it seemed to have worked prior. I sent the unit in and it got repaired. They sent it back in about 10 days.

On most insurance plans I've had, whether it’d be through my phones with Asurion, through Verizon, or through Allstate, I haven't had any issues getting help. Before I purchase a plan, I find out what's covered and no matter what it is, Allstate covers it. So, I would definitely suggest it to my friend. Almost anything that happens to a device, they take care of it. All in all, I'm very happy with Allstate, because it's like I'm purchasing an extended three-year warranty for 36 bucks for almost anything that I can do to it. Unfortunately, my son didn't do anything to the unit. It just stopped working. Having Allstate is beneficial and I've had a great experience with it.

Pathetic. I bought a plan for 14.99, they charged tax, they took taxes from me, but they will not refund my tax portion. They will only refund the "purchase price" minus taxes. This is just plain theft. I'm reporting it and charging back with my bank. I don't care if it's 2 dollars. It's theft. Imagine the money they make by overcharging us and "taxing" us then refusing to refund a plan that is refunded with in 2 days. screw this company.

The customer service representative was very helpful, professional, and responsive. However, I was disappointed with the service provided by the contractor working with Allstate Protection Plans, Advance Appliances. The contractor’s lack of professionalism, efficiency, and punctuality made the overall experience unnecessarily frustrating. I reported my concerns to the Allstate representative immediately as a formal complaint regarding the contractor’s service. The representative was understanding and responsive, and quickly identified a solution to address the issue. I appreciated the representative’s willingness to listen and take prompt action.

Allstate has a strong reputation as a trusted provider of insurance and protection plans. For that reason, I believe the third-party contractors selected to represent Allstate should uphold the same standards of professionalism, reliability, efficiency, and customer service. Customers who pay for quality insurance and warranty protection should feel confident that they will receive dependable service from both Allstate and its contracted service providers. I hope Allstate will take this feedback seriously when evaluating its third-party contractors and ensure that customers receive the level of service that reflects the quality and reputation associated with the Allstate name.

If you have another warranty available, try them before you try Allstate. What I should have done was find out if that was the only warranty plan that was available. You just go by the notion of a warranty plan is a warranty plan, and who's to say that I will ever have to use it? I'm getting it just in case, just like insurance. So, I went ahead and got it.

The online tools were fine. I just didn't like having to do it during the weekday. They're good for the weekend, because most people don't work in those jobs on the weekend. It was beneficial for the weekend if you can't get ahold of anybody. But during the week, I should be able to talk to somebody who's got a pulse. What I didn't like at first when I called is everything was automated. AI is taking over everything. AI has its pros and its cons. During the weekday, in situations like this, I would prefer to talk to a person, somebody who has a pulse, instead of an answering machine.

The good thing is I bought all three appliances at one time. Around Memorial Day, they always have appliance specials at Home Depot and Lowe's. So, I bought three appliances all in the same brand, LG. I bought them two years ago in the month of June. Here it is, two years later. I was, “Two years later already, and my appliances are starting to act up on me already?”

I did that as far as the oven. I had to go through the automated systems to set up an appointment. I had to tell Allstate what was wrong with it, and I had to go through several steps and to make sure that it was something where they didn't have to just come out here and it's something I could have done myself. I did all that through the chat thing. I call it AI because it only responds when I answer. Once we went through all that, we got to the part where Allstate set the appointment up. They gave me various dates and times. We had that set up. They told me they would mail me some parts for the appliance. I got an email with that. And the appliance showed up. The appliance would show up anywhere between one or two days before the technicians show up to fix your appliance.

For the stove, the appliance came one day before the techs came. Once they got here, come to find out they sent the wrong part. That was a thing that I didn't like either. Nevertheless, you have to give a little grace. They contacted their person. The name of the appliance repair people was Goodman Home Solutions. They were the techs that came to fix the stove. They told me that they had to get in contact with them and they would have to reorder the right part, and once the right part comes, they will come back and fix it. So, we're going through the same thing again. We wait for the part to come. And they knew that the part was here, so they set up when they would come back out. It was done through an email. If the time didn't fit my schedule, I would have to call Goodman Home Solutions to reschedule. Luckily for me, it worked out okay as far as them coming back. They fixed that, and that was fine. I didn't pay anything out of pocket. I only paid for the warranty plan itself.

Three days later, my dishwasher acted up. I went through the same process I did with the stove. And this time, they called me and left me a voicemail telling me that they have to move my appointment time for the tech to come out and fix it. I was not gonna be here at the time that they wanted to do it because I was going out of town. So, I had to call Goodman Home Solutions once again who were the techs that will fix the appliance. I had to reschedule. They're supposed to come out today between the hours of 1:00 and 5:00. I'm waiting on that to get fixed.

My wife told me that the seal in my refrigerator is starting to go bad. I gave Allstate a phone call. First, I called Home Depot where I bought the appliances from. I said, “For this to be happening, evidently, I have some very faulty appliances here. And I would like to bring them back and get something else.” They told me that they were sorry that they wouldn't be able to do that. I would have to work that out through the warranty company where I bought the warranty from.

In most cases, when you buy appliances or electrical stuff, you have your manufacturer's warranty and you have the extended warranty that you bought. So, I'm saying to myself, “It's been two years since I've had this.” I should not be using the warranty that I use. It should have been a manufacturer's default, because in most cases, the way it used to be, manufacturers' warranties last anywhere between three to five years before you even think about using the extended warranty. But times have changed now. Nevertheless, Home Depot told me that I needed to get in contact with the warranty company, which is Allstate. So, I called them and asked and told them the same thing.

I purchased the insurance for a used laptop that I bought on eBay. The laptop began having issues with freezing. I spent many hours diagnosing the issue, only to find out that it was beyond my capabilities to fix without having to open the laptop. I filed a claim The claim filing process took approximately two hours, which is unreasonable. I was on the phone or chatting with an agent online. I was finally told to take the laptop to a local repair shop, and if the repair was under $120, to have it repaired, and Allstate would cover the cost, and if the repair was over $120, that All State would reimburse me for the laptop.

The quote cost me $25.00, and was for $159, obviously over the $120 threshold. However, instead of accepting my claim, All State then said I had to send the laptop to another repair shop, and that I can only use FedEx to ship with. There isn't a FedEx in my town, therefore that is very inconvenient. All State also did not reimburse me for the repair quote, as the agent said they would. As of the time of typing this, I do not have neither a working laptop, nor a reimburse check for my claim. It's been weeks since I filed the claim. So, given that All State/SquareTrade doesn't do what they say, continues to 'move the goalpost' so to speak, and makes the entire claim process unnecessarily difficult, I will never purchase any policy from them again, and I do tell others not to as well.

I had to send it back because my daughter was having volume issues with her MacBook. Allstate should make it less frustrating for the customer because when I had to keep calling and repeating myself about the same thing, it was almost like something was going on internally with the conversation. They could have done much better with the communication. I’ve never seen anything be rushed so quickly, so that’s probably why they missed the first one. When I had to send it back the second time, they worked on it quickly and then sent it back quickly as well, so I ended up having to send it back. It’s just like taking your car to a shop to get it fixed and then having to bring it back because something wasn’t done correctly.

      Hello Darren Ritchey,

We apologize for any dissatisfaction with the consumer’s recent claim experience.

SquareTrade offers different protection plans, each with specific coverage terms and exclusions. In this case, the consumer's item was covered under a Standard Protection Plan, which does not include coverage for physical damage. While the reported issue was not eligible for coverage under the terms of the plan, we determined that the consumer was misinformed regarding the protection plan at the time of purchase. As a result, and as a consumer service accommodation, we provided the consumer with a reimbursement equal to 50% of the item's purchase price. While we strive to assist our consumer whenever possible, claim determinations must generally be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the coverage purchased.

In this case, we were happy to speak with the consumer and provide additional support regarding the consumer's claim. We hope to provide better experience in the future.

SquareTrade strives to provide fair and effective resolutions for all consumers. However, after further consideration of the circumstances, we provided the consumer with a reimbursement as a goodwill gesture. Original Review: Aug. 7, 2026

Updated on 08/13/2026: Company stated they will send replacement due to parts not being readily available to fix the TV, I am expecting a replacement within a week and will update when receiving it.

Original Review: I have got the plan on quite a few of my purchases, I have attempted to use it twice. I bought a fan and got the plan. Well 6 months later it quit, the original purchase was $289.56. In return they offered to let me select from 3 fans to replace it with the most expensive being 89.99. They will replace with any item they want not the same as you purchased. Next item I bought a 75 inch TV and got the plan, they make you jump thru many hoops and then tell me am I sure it was damaged by me. I let them know it is hanging on a wall and been there since purchased. They want to schedule a repair guy for 6-8 weeks out to come see if it can be fixed. I told them I can't go that long without a TV.

I asked them just to refund the cost of the plan since I never used it and I would just go buy another TV. They refused. The customer service was not helpful actually telling me they were doing me a favor since I didn't have a copy of the actual receipt from my purchase. I let them know I couldn't have registered the plan without a receipt and just told them to schedule the service. I bought a new tv and when the repair guy does show I am going to have him haul it off as it will save me 35 dollar recycling fee. You are better off throwing your money away than buying their protection plans. I never leave reviews but this is a SCAM so just ask when you are thinking about it if they will replace your exact item and the answer is NO.

It's just the product. The little batteries, which are small, can't be replaced. I tried submitting the ticket to Allstate online, and it’s hard to navigate unless you have a person to do it for you. The website wasn’t that easy. I just wanted to speak to a representative and I finally got to a person who could help me. I spent 30 minutes with him and we thought we had it done. Then he said their system was down and I would have to call back. I said it took me forever to get to him and I can’t call back. But we got cut off.

I tried again and got hold of another person. She was wonderful. She walked me through it and took care of everything. She asked if I wanted her to handle it for me and I said, "Absolutely.” And she did. So, the second person was a big help and did everything for me. I got a partial refund on the purchase price that I had paid for the Fitbit. I would have liked to have gotten the full price, but I'm satisfied with the amount that they paid me. When you purchase something and you are offered an Allstate protection plan, get it, because whatever you're gonna get is going to wear out. This isn't the first time that I have had an Allstate protection plan and it paid off. I've had it with an iron before, and when I ruined it, Allstate paid for that. So, I have learned through the years that things are going to wear out or tear up, and it pays to have an Allstate protection plan.

I was supported throughout the whole thing because doing it online by myself is confusing to me. They have that option to help you do your claim person to person. I sure hope that option stays like always. Thanks so much. Be blessed everyone. Amen.

We purchased Allstate through Mint Mobile. I have an iPhone 15 protected. I did a claim, and the process was straightforward and easy. We just haven't heard back if the returned phone was processed successfully yet. The customer service is very good.
