    When I started buying Amazon tablets and fire sticks, Allstate had a very good price for an extended warranty that also covered accidents. My wife loves killing things by dropping them. She has probably killed eight or nine phones and several laptops. I thought, “One of the things it says is it covers liquid spills.” So I started purchasing it for the electronics.

    It’s very easy to submit a claim, and the process has always been very satisfactory. The website has been very easy to use, too. They’ve also always been very prompt in responding. Overall, for the amount I paid for all of my insurances and the things I've had to file claims on, I'm on the plus side.

    Allstate is a good protection plan to purchase whenever you buy items. I kept having a lot of issues with the Yard-Man lawn mower's mechanical parts back to back to back. When I submitted the claim, it was straightforward on the initial call. Allstate asked me my name, and the receipt number to verify the item that I purchased. It took no more than 10 minutes. They reimbursed me for the cost of the item.

    This is my third failed experience with Allstate Protection Plans and the second truly horrible experience. I have had no good ones! It took 3 weeks to have them complete my cell phone claim. We are into our second week for our failed refrigerator with our Home Depot appliance warranty through Allstate and no closer to having our fridge fixed or replaced. Allstate has processes in place that result in 24-48 hours for EVERY EXCHANGE (open claim... they request pictures and info... Days to get tech... tech doesn't fix and them get claim moving forward again). I was an Allstate insurance customer for nearly 40 years, and Allstate Protection (SquareTrade) was a large part of my bailing on them last year. THINK TWICE BEFORE DOING BUSINESS with ALLSTATE, ESPECIALLY with ALLSTATE PROTECTION PLANS / SQUARETRADE!

    Allstate has always been great for me. Submitting the claim was easy. Click, click, click, done. I did it online. Allstate gave me the shipping label. I had to box the laptop up and ship it off, and it came back fast. My daughter would laugh when I told her where it was coming from. She said, "Why'd they send it all the way there?" Because we're in California and it went all the way to New York. They just fixed my daughter's laptop and it looks brand-new again, even though it's the same one. Except it's not her fault. I'm frustrated with my youngest, though. She's 15 and I wish I can get hers fixed, but it happened two days after the warranty expired. My 19-year-old got mad because her computer wasn't listening to her.

    I purchased another warranty when I bought my mom this handheld vacuum 15 minutes ago. We always buy the warranties except for the stupid ones where you buy a DVD and it asks you, "Do you want to pay $2 for a warranty?" No. But mine was now for my mom's handheld. I bought a $27 vacuum that's on clearance and I bought the $2 warranty.

    Usually, everything I purchase, I add a protection plan if it's available. The recent experience I had with Allstate was for my son's Meta Quest 2. I did a claim and they asked me to send in the device to be repaired. When they sent it back, it was worse than what it started with. When I called back to figure out what was going on and I asked them too, "Hey, what was repaired?" they had no idea what was repaired. So they asked me, "Can you send it in for repair?"

    I said, "Oh, no, I'm going on vacation and my kid plays this and that's what keeps him busy. Let's find another alternative. Because if I send it in, it's gonna be at least another three weeks to a month." Finally, they said, "You know what? We're just gonna pay you out. Just go ahead and ship it in and we'll send you a check." That was done within five days, which was great. All in all, Allstate provides peace of mind and protection. These electronics are expensive. There were some hiccups along the way, but nothing's perfect. So I would still give them the benefit of the doubt since, at the end of the day, they took care of me.

    I bought a ride-on jeep for a Christmas present for the young kids so I knew it was going to be sitting for a while before it got used because of the weather. Then when we used it, it wasn't operating properly. The remote wasn't operating the ride-on jeep. When I had called up the manufacturer, they said it was past 90 days. I then called Allstate as I bought the extended coverage and the process was very simple. I sent them the copy of the email that I was sent from them. They thought it was still covered under a year but wasn't. I told them what the problem was and they said they weren't covering it but they covered it. Allstate replaced the whole car. It was also in a reasonable price when I got the coverage. It was $14 for a two-year protection plan.

    I had to submit a claim to Allstate for the water filter in the refrigerator. It had to be replaced. This claim worked out fine. I just went on the website and the process was fine. I did submit one earlier, but I never got any money for it. I picked a gift card as the reimbursement and it wasn't up to $25. It was $24 for the replacement of the water filter. So, I never got the gift card.

    I purchased the warranty, and it took an entire week just to verify the claim. After that delay, Allstate sent the wrong part to my home. Communication throughout the process was a nightmare. Every time I spoke with an agent, I was placed on hold for no less than five minutes, only for them to return and request additional documentation. I was repeatedly told I would be contacted within one business day, yet no one ever followed up. After multiple escalations, a technician was finally sent out. The technician confirmed that Allstate had ordered the incorrect part for my washing machine. At this point, I’ve been without a functioning washer for nearly two weeks, with no clear resolution in sight. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was given the runaround instead of real assistance. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional from the start and I still have NO resolution. Claim **.

    I submitted a call to Allstate to have a microwave fixed. After me telling them exactly what was wrong with it and what the thing was saying about needing repair and it not working, it offered me a choice of just replacing it because they said they didn't have anyone to come fix it in my area. I think it was going to cost too much to fix it in the same way it can be replaced. So, I told them I would accept the e-card for Home Depot to have it replaced. They reimbursed me through the insurance for the exact amount I paid for it and I appreciated that. It wasn't an expensive one anyway. It wasn't top-of-the-line, but they handled it very well. I was a little upset in the beginning because of how no one could come and fix it and that worried me because of the larger appliances, but the way they handled it, it turned out the best for me.

    I have a few items that I have the Allstate protection plan on. I have my air fryer, my sound bar, and about two other items. When I submitted my claim, initially, they had a correspondence through email. I didn't speak directly to Allstate through the phone. I spoke to Purchasing Power who then connected me with them through email. The claims process was time-consuming, but it was easy in a way as well. They had me do some stuff. I had to take pictures, I had to do a little video to show them that it really wasn't working, and then I had to send it back. They had to test it themselves to verify that it wasn't working, and then they paid me out.

    I have a warranty for my refrigerator and freezer, which I purchased from Home Depot in the US. I was sent an email telling me they were expiring and to click a button to renew. Well, it was a trap to sell me a new plan, not a renewal. As soon as I realized this, I asked for a refund, which took talking to 8 customer service reps and transferring for over an hour. I was told it would be issued in 1 day. Not happened. Customer service is not helpful. Spent almost an hour with "Noora" on chat; she gave me the wrong date and amount for the refund, kept changing the story, could not provide the transfer info so I could call my bank, and said it would take at least 24 hours for a supervisor to call me.

    Actually, Allstate Protection is great! The issue is with the Techs that are repairing the item. This claim was to fix something that wasn't broken when I sent it in! And when I recieved it, it still not fixed! So they did fix the initial issue but created another, and then back and forth twice more, and still not fixed! I'm done. They also created a new issue a couple of years ago with a different item. It's too bad because the plan is fantastic and well worth the money.

    They replaced my recliner with a rocking chair or rocking chaise lounge. When I notified them it wasn't a recliner and dangerous to use besides and asked them to come and get it they ignored me. When I bought a new recliner and asked them to refund my 50 dollar insurance fee they refused. Their warranty is worthless and I will never buy one again nor will I buy anything made in China from Walmart again.

    Bought a four-year TV warranty and two years later, the picture dimmed and couldn't be brightened up with any settings. Claim was denied after sending all required info in. Reason they stated was "pre-existing problem." When asked what they meant by that, they just said denied and I could cancel warranty if I'd like.

    After multiple calls, emails, text messages... they scheduled a technician to come and repair the appliance. The technician did not show up during the window. When I asked to reschedule, I was unable to get more than a response that the chat bot or email system was not working for the technician company. When I reached out to Allstate Protection Plan, they insisted they needed additional videos and photos even thought they had already approved the claim and ignored my request for rescheduling the technician.

    Terrible experience. Despite multiple calls and assurances from multiple people at Allstate/SquareTrade (incl. corporate escalation team), only 1 of the 2 needed parts were ever ordered. The issue was a well-known problem with this model of front load washer and there was a manufacturer service bulletin describing what to replace. Ultimately, I had to order the other part myself and fix it myself.

    I had an extended warranty for a dining table that recently experienced a collapsed leg pedestal. I submitted an extended warranty claim but was told it doesn’t cover accidental damage. The pedestal just collapsed on its own - there was no accident. What’s the point of buying an extended warranty on furniture that doesn’t cover damage during the warranty period? They never could explain what was covered - it’s not an “electrical” situation. A representative hung up on me when I called to dispute their denial.

    It is completely unacceptable and misleading that Amazon sells extended warranties that simply do not work when you actually need them. This honestly feels like a scam. I’m currently dealing with an issue with my TV, and it has been IMPOSSIBLE to get the warranty honored. Customer service is a complete waste of time — they just keep transferring you from one department to another without resolving anything. No one takes responsibility, and no one provides a real solution. They just keep you going in circles until you give up.

    So what’s the point of selling a warranty they won’t stand behind? It’s absurd and a complete lack of respect for customers. They have no problem charging you, but when it’s time to respond, they disappear. I absolutely do NOT recommend buying extended warranties from them. It’s a total waste of money. Hopefully, this helps others avoid going through the same situation.

    Worst company ever. EVER. Collected on our iPhone insurance for over 2 years. When we needed the insurance, they sent us a replacement, refurbished iPhone with non-Apple parts (battery), despite them telling us in a chat that we'd receive a new phone. The replacement was glitchy from day one, never holding a charge for more than 4-5 hours. Finally after about 6 weeks the phone completely crashed on us. When reaching out to Allstate, they advised they only stand behind the "new" phone for 30 days.

    When pressing the issue that the "new" phone never worked correctly and was refurbished with parts that weren't appropriate, they essentially told us to jump off a cliff. Interestingly, they continued to collect our payments for insurance after the phone coverage expired- imagine that! The way this company operates business should be illegal. It's fraud. They defraud consumers out of payments with an entire back-end scheme to make sure you never get the value for what you paid for.

Now I have a claim number for repairs I am supposed to do myself??? Rep said if I don't call back, it won't count as a claim. I ask for that in writing. He said no, but will notate my file. Great, I hope in 2 years if there is a problem, they will see that note. I am seriously questioning why I paid $160 for a service plan which simply e-mails me possible fixes when I could have searched that online for free. I will NEVER EVER purchase another plan from them.

    We bought the washing machine without an extended warranty. About a week later, we went back and got the dryer and purchased the extended warranty at the time we bought the dryer, and then turned around and asked them, "Can we buy the extended warranty on the washing machine now?" which was a week after we bought the washing machine. So then, they wrote it up. Therefore, it was a hard time.

    We went to Allstate to try to find that particular warranty agreement, but we couldn't, so I ended up having to upload receipts and first one thing and another to get it straightened out. But it wasn't too bad. They were very nice. Did everything they knew to do to help me figure out for us to track down that warranty that was done separately. They were just very professional. And all the arrangements through the repair company, they took care of all that. We didn't have to worry about anything. They sent them to us, and that was it. They also kept us up to date on what was going on.

    Allstate Protection Plans are not worth the money. I waited nine days for a technician to be sent out to repair my refrigerator. When a second issue arose, they arbitrarily decided the appliance was “repairable” and issued a check with no clear breakdown of what was covered under the warranty versus the appliance itself. Since then, they have been sending random parts with no scheduled service appointment to install them. Their process is disorganized, poorly communicated, and extremely frustrating. Customer service is equally disappointing, with significant communication barriers that make resolving issues even more difficult. Overall, this has been a time-consuming and unsatisfactory experience.

    Buyer beware of the setup process. Or trying to contact anyone if something goes wrong. But you have to make an account before they tell you this. I was just lucky I caught the mistake. My $20 plan somehow covered $25 in instant coffee before I registered my appliance. In the process, I learned...

    1) You can't file a claim: Allstate "assumes" there is a manufacturer's warranty (even on coffee).
    2) You can't contact anyone to fix their mistake, even on the "contact us" selector.
    3) If you are lucky to get a technician, he will tell you he can't do anything about anything.
    4) Apparently, no one at Allstate can do anything for me. Well, until I wait a year.

    5) But setup was supposed to be easy. I was told to scan the QR code, which got complicated and didn't matter because someone decided to jump claim my registration and now I have to hash it out with the merchant.

    Good luck being reimbursed. There are probably a hundred loopholes and only one minimum wage technician to guide you through them.

    I have consistently purchased Home Depot extended warranty protection for each of my major home appliances, usually for the maximum time allowed of five years. When I get to the five-year point with no breakdowns, that is its own success. On the very rare occasion of a breakdown in any of my Home Depot major appliances, I call the Home Depot help line. This gets me in touch with the Allstate Protection Plans.

    Recently, I had a leak in my GE dishwasher from Home Depot. When I called for support, Allstate Protection quickly sent a door seal and had a technician from Supreme Appliance Repair install that. There was also a middle rack that had come apart from its guide support. Allstate quickly sent that replacement part and again Supreme installed that. When the GE washer continued to leak, Supreme came a third time to diagnose the issue. They stated it needed a new door. Now, I said to my wife, that is at least 50 to 60 percent the total value of the dishwasher.

    Here is the amazing part: Allstate made a decision to "cut its losses" (after three visits from Supreme, and a call for a new door), carefully considered its options, and offered us the original cost of the dishwasher and the associated installation charges. This came in the form of a Home Depot gift certificate (essentially the same as store credit). I found out that Allstate stands by its warranty. I graciously accepted the gift certificate, and bought essentially the same GE dishwasher from Home Depot. My total out-of-pocket was a few hundred (including, of course, the Home Depot extended warranty).

    I've purchased several Allstate protections plans for my appliances and the latest was the stove. I thought it'd be better to be safe than sorry and it has been second nature to me to get a policy for the things I buy. I made a claim recently when the stove was acting up. I would put it on low, and all of a sudden, the burner was all the way to high. So, they were trying to get a technician out here to help me. Unfortunately, I live in a rural area, so there's not many technicians out. So, they offered me several options before having it just completely paid off, and having me go get a new one.

    All in all, the warranty is very valuable and Allstate is on top of their game. The price I pay for the coverage is well worth it, too. I just purchased a new stove and I right away purchased my extended plan through Allstate again. I love their communication. They were friendly and so fast. It was all through email, so I didn't have to worry about them calling in the middle of when I was busy and communicating with them was in my convenience.

    I purchased a 3-year SquareTrade protection plan through Amazon for my Fire Cube, yet when the device failed after only 2 years, the warranty process was completely ineffective. When I went to the Allstate/SquareTrade website and clicked “File a Claim,” I was given a phone number for an Amazon team. That number routed me directly to Amazon, not SquareTrade or Allstate. Amazon then told me the problem was SquareTrade’s responsibility and said the protection plan had never been activated on their end, even though the SquareTrade website clearly showed the plan as active.

    I then contacted SquareTrade directly through chat, and the experience was just as frustrating. The representative was unhelpful and simply gave me the same Amazon phone number again. Even after I clearly explained that Amazon was saying SquareTrade had not activated the plan, SquareTrade continued sending me in circles, providing additional phone numbers that all led back to Amazon support.

    So I was stuck between Amazon and SquareTrade, with each company blaming the other while neither took ownership of the issue. Despite having an active plan displayed on SquareTrade’s own website, I was unable to get the warranty honored. After spending more than an hour trying to resolve this, I got no real assistance, no accountability, and no resolution. A protection plan that cannot actually be used when a product fails is worthless. Based on my experience, SquareTrade did not stand behind the coverage I paid for. I would not recommend this service.

    I used my protection plan on my iPhone and was told by the representative to submit my receipt for approval and that I would receive a check. Instead, I got a Walmart gift card without being asked how I wanted to be reimbursed. I didn’t pay with a gift card, so this makes no sense. After speaking with a senior supervisor. At this point, I guess it was a supervisor because each person said the same thing, still the same resolution. A gift card can be canceled just as a check. Why do they think we as customers should just accept what they tell us. I will not purchase another protection warranty from this company and do not recommend it to anyone. Be cautious when buying these in-store protection plans; the third-party company is not reliable.

    The hole in the table leg was too big to hold the screw. So, I only had three legs. I tried to fix it myself, but it was too expensive to buy new legs. You have to buy all four. You can't just buy one. It was pretty easy to file the claim online. I had to send pictures through email. Allstate decided it would be too expensive to fix it, so they sent me my money back.

    I can't change the email. They won't respond to me in the text chat that they forced me to be in. I am trying to file a claim. They will not acknowledge that I already sent the information to them. They just tell me that the chat is going to be deactivated if I don't respond every three minutes. (But they won't respond).

    Absolutely not worth it. They do their best to delay and disapprove your claim. small claims, no problem! Big claims always rejected or put obstacles in the process. My first experience was 4-5 months ago, I had a claim about my ASUS Zen book laptop which was completely toasted due to electric serge! Laptop wasn't repairable and couldn't send it out by their paid DHL package because DHL refused to transport any item with hazardous materials and they considered this laptop as hazardous because the battery is built-in. Provided receipt, repair shop report and pictures but until today I keep receiving crazy email saying "provide receipt, repair shop phone number or email". Another claim 2 days ago about my outdoor grill, same nonsense. This company is fraud and don't waste your money and time.

    Now have spent over a month with no resolution. Multiple calls of which the company isn't sure why I am calling other than I keep getting emails to call them. I have given up they can email me. Or you know do what the last customer rep said and actually refund me the money. Allstate is also convinced I bought a washing machine I did not I bought a control board for one that offered the allstate protection plan. I have uploaded multiple times the only receipt I have from buying from an independent seller on eBay. Then they tell me it doesn't say eBay. I screen shot the listing in my eBay showing even the product and the words "my eBay". They can't read so I them circled it in green and wrote eBay and an arrow, see if they can figure that out.

    Triggers a email telling me to call them yet again. No the last call on the 2, and the agent escalated it to I need refunded because it's been weeks this is to a washer. I need clean clothes. I did part. They refuse to do their part and I already had to replace that part because hey I need clean clothes to go to work. They can have the dang board that is warrantied, I got a box heck the one it came in. I will ship it right on to allstate. They can hang it on the wall for all I care. But I will never buy a protection plan from them. And right now they got till Monday to issue me a refund or this all goes to BBB. I've had it with this shady company.

    I got a plan from Allstate for my eyeglasses. Eyeglasses are easily scratched and damaged, or at least I'm a little rough on them. So, that was the reason why I purchased it. I had the scratch protection on it, but it still became scratched. Filing the claim was fairly easy. I just gave them the details, sent a photocopy of the receipt, and they processed it. Having the warranty is valuable. It covers most of the damage to the glasses. My experience was fast and easy. Some companies want you to do somersaults to try and prove that something happened to them in short of sending them in so that they can observe it, but Allstate's process was simple. I just did what they told me to do.

    First of all, I use Sam's Club because my wife has used them in the past . So I use them to get my glasses. Within 2 months, the finish started coming off. These are sport glasses. Have been dealing with all state warranty for it seems forever. Have given the same information four times my wife has also. And if you only have one pair of glasses and they get broke, this is a lousy warranty company. They're hoping you will not use them, and will give up. You are not going to get your glasses Anytime soon and sam's club does does not want to hear from you. Now sam's club is a total different review.

    A month ago, our LG dryer stopped working. A cycle starts and then stops about a minute in and will not run after. I called the warranty company, they sent a person from FULLER HVAC out to repair. He showed up, replaced a part that was NOT the cause of the problem, and said he was going to order 2 more band-aid parts to throw at it. Fast forward 3 weeks later, my family is still without a dryer. I’ve called the hvac company numerous times, then they call square trade and get NOWHERE.

    Square trade had apparently CANCELLED the parts the hvac technician ordered to fix our dryer not once, but TWICE. I've called Square trade numerous times and been told “we are escalating the case, you will be notified by email in 1 business day…then 2 business days, then 3 business days"… then today she told me I would be contacted by email but COB. Well, it's almost 830 and I haven't received one email from the company in a month. I am fed up with Square trade and Allstate at this point. My family has been without a dryer for a month with no resolve in site. This service is 100% a scam.

    Bought an LG TV in 2024 from Walmart. Paid for an extension through Allstate/Square Deal for an extra three years. The volume on the TV for the last year has been going up and down by itself, and I’ve been putting up with it. Recently, I ran across my insurance policy and contacted their customer service. After giving him the information they needed. I was told that because my TV wasn’t acting up all the time. I would have to call back when it was acting up. I would like somebody to come and fix it, or I would like to be reimbursed for a new TV. I should not have to be calling back and assist them in troubleshooting the problem with my TV. If you have the option to go with a service, I would stay away from this company.

    They look for any exist to deny the claim, jump you through hoops looking for a reason to decline. Don't waste your money. When you buy the warranty you are good anything is covered, even the list on here says what's covered but then when you try to use it the story changes and they deny the claim knowing there's nothing you can do about it.

    I got the plan for my child's table to be sure it is always going to be working. I sent in a claim when something happened to the charget port and the tablet would not even charge anymore. The service was really good. Allstate was very fast. They got it back to him very quick and he was able to use it one time on the charge that they put on it, and then it would not charge anymore. That's been since Christmas. So we just went back the second time for the same reason. Sometimes the experience has been good with the exception of the fact that the tablet still does not work correctly.     I sent in a claim for a chair. The chair was good, but when I leaned back on it while working at the desk, there was a clicking sound that would occur to prevent the chair from leaning back. But it was inoperable and the chair would sink It wouldn't maintain its height. When you position it at a high position, it would just go down. I tried dealing with it for a while to get used to it, but the desk was a different height and the chair kept going down. It was frustrating to keep pulling up the chair underneath the lever, and pulling the chair back up and going backwards on the chair to sink. It stopped doing that. It sort of locked in place.

    I talked to a representative at Sam's Club who told that I could bring it back to them. But when I got there, they said they couldn't take the chair back and I had to cart the chair back out. I was a little frustrated with that. The end result of the claim was that I went through this database and it was very simple. I just uploaded the receipt and answered the questions and forwarded that information over to wherever it goes. Then Allstate responded back and then I got a card that they provided me to get another chair.

    I bought an Allstate plan on the refrigerator two years ago and on a dishwasher nine months ago. The sales person offered it and I accepted. The policy is expensive, but it's worth it because I have a claim. I had a problem with my refrigerator and Allstate didn't hesitate to fix it. That was excellent. If I didn't have a claim, I would think I wasted the money. My previous refrigerator lasted 23 years, so using that as a standard when I bought the new one, when I did my research online, the general gist of what I read was it would be unusual for them to last more than 10 years without needing a serious repair. I bought the Allstate protection because I wanted protection for at least 5 years, because after 5, I've gotten some use out of the refrigerator.

    I filed a claim back in January. I filled out the claim form online in detail, and Allstate sent me an email saying, “Call this number when you're available.” I called the number. They would have thought that I never filed anything online. They started right from the very beginning with all the same questions and it seemed I wasted my time putting it in online. There was an electronic issue with it where some of the lights were in constant blinking mode, so Allstate sent a repairman out. He evaluated it, ordered some parts, came back and put them in on the next visit, but he still missed one part. The odd part of the story is he told me he would order another part to fix the job completely. A week later, I got an email from Allstate saying they declared my refrigerator a total loss. They're willing to replace it but it's weird.

    As I tried to explain to them in an email, the refrigerator is working. It's just that the repairman said it would not work forever because it has a short in it for sure and it needs a new wire. He said we have to replace the wire, but Allstate doesn't wanna troubleshoot it any further. They sent me a notice saying, “Sign this affidavit.” I haven't signed it. I'm still thinking about it, because it's working right now. Also, when I got the email saying Allstate wanted to replace my refrigerator, I called the number and I couldn't chat with someone. I had to do an online chat, which is fine. When I did it, the rep wasn't empowered to do anything. He couldn't even forward my issue to anyone. He said, “Once payout makes a decision, that's the end of it. There's nothing we can do about it.”

    The last washer-dryer combo I had had a problem. It was a different brand and I didn't have a protection plan with that. When I bought this one, I figured I'm gonna not trust it not to have a problem. I got Allstate Protection Plans, however it's been crazy with them. The washer quit spinning and it wasn't drying well. The first person they hired didn't answer my calls. After the first repairman, I got a call saying they were gonna have someone come out in a couple of days and that guy came. But in the meantime, they hired a third person, and the third person called me asking me why they were canceled. Then, I got an email saying they couldn't find someone to work on it so I could either get a different unit or have someone that I prefer to come fix it.

    The repairman who came out was very nice. The machine started spinning for him, but the doors wouldn't open when he shut it off. When you turn it off, it doesn't turn off. It just kept going and going and the door wouldn't unlock to let anything out. He figured it was the motherboard and not the part that they had given me. They supposedly ordered the right part and were gonna let me know. But then I got a note saying that my appointment had been changed to a different day. Then I got a call from another one about the same thing and got a different appointment the week after.

    They've got a couple of people working on it and somebody's not talking to the other one. You'd think after the second one that called to make an appointment, they wouldn't make a third one until that second one was not a show. I've worked in insurance all my life and you go into a policy, you can read everything in the system, what's going on with that policy. I don't understand how they could be any different. When I talked to someone, they were very professional and very nice. But I still don't know if they know what they're doing. Maybe it's my area because I live out in the country in a small town. But to offer something somewhere and not have anybody that fixes stuff does not make sense. If they can't do anything, then the protection plan is not very valuable.

    They don’t care if your item is a small value. For a $22 item they want me to go and get it diagnosed (diagnostics $125) and if it isn’t working and if it’s repairable (add’l. $100) to have it repaired BUT would only pay $21. It was a long conversation. Nowadays they are trained like AI following a queue instead of resolving to save time, money, etc. For short, now I know not to purchase it again, especially for small items.

    I will not recommend Allstate. Communication was good on the backside. When I requested to speak with someone about the possibility of filing a claim, Allstate responded to me very quickly and were very clear. There wasn't a lot of wiggle room of, "What do you really mean by that?" But as far as being able to use what I paid for, I will not wait a year to ask for a replacement battery. My son would have moved on to something else in his interest.

    I tried filing a claim for a drone that my son was receiving for Christmas and was denied. Three weeks into using it, one of the two batteries that it came with would not charge anymore. I thought, "He hasn't banged it into anything." He's been careful with it, a couple of hard landings, but if you're designing a drone, and you're targeting children, that's probably expected. The battery should still be working after three weeks. I contacted Allstate and thought, "This is the kind of thing I bought a protection plan for," and attempted to receive a replacement battery. They said, "Your product is still under warranty for a year. You need to contact the manufacturer." I asked, "How do I do that? I ordered it from a website.”

    I tried to call the manufacturer and they said, "We can send you $8." I asked, "What is that gonna do? That doesn't give me a battery. That won't even replace the battery I've got. And how do I make sure that I buy one that fits the exact specifications to click into this thing and actually work?" When I contacted Allstate, they said, "It's still under warranty, so we can't do anything for you." I got this protection plan that I can't use for a year, and I contact the manufacturers and they told me all they can do is send me $8. That feels like a waste because I still don't have a second battery for my son's drone.

    I wrote to the manufacturer again. Walmart was the company that I bought the drone from. They said, "You can contact Walmart and see if they'll replace your drone." My son looked at me at that point and said, "Mama, don't worry about it." I just wanted one battery. Why can't they give me a new battery? Who are they getting the batteries from? They have access to these batteries somehow.

    A drone being flown by a 10-year-old is bound to crash. It felt having Allstate was a good idea at the time. I was, "Okay. For the next two years." But maybe I didn't do my due diligence and read enough about it and the chaos of Christmas crazies. But I won't do it again because when I needed it, the response I got was, "I'm sorry. We can't help you." I'm not as optimistic as I used to.

    I bought a washer through Home Depot and I purchased an Allstate insurance for it. We filed a claim a few months ago. With Allstate, everything was great. It's just the company that they used to come wasn't that good. With the guys that came over, everything ran smoothly, but to do the appointment, it was a hassle. At first, when I spoke with someone from Allstate, they said that they were gonna come. They gave me a time and I said it was fine. I work in the morning, so I said it was fine, but I had to ask for the day off because of that. After asking for the day off, I received a message from the company that was coming over and they said they were gonna show up at 4:00. I told them that they said that they would be here at 8:00. I already asked for the day off. If I would have known, I wouldn't have lost money.

    The company said they couldn't come because they were coming from LA. I couldn't argue with it. They were gonna come on a Tuesday, and on Wednesday and Thursday, I work all day and all night, so I said, “Can you come on a Friday?” They said, “No, you can't do that. You have to call the day before to do an appointment.” So on Thursday, I called and told them I needed an appointment. All of a sudden, they were like, “We're gonna come in the morning.” I said, “But I thought you guys said he couldn't come in the morning because he's coming from LA.” “Oh, yeah, but he has an appointment over there in the morning so he can't.” I was like, “He had an appointment with me. How come they couldn't come in the morning?” I said, “Okay. That's fine.” I needed my laundry machine fixed, so what could I do?

    Other than that, everything was great with the customer service at Allstate. It was just the customer service from the company that came was a big hassle. If I would have had another option, I would have, but that was the option I was offered. Everything else was great. Allstate told me they were gonna send me the item that the laundry needed when they took the assessment. They did send me everything needed, so when the two guys showed up, they didn't need anything. Everything was here on time. They used the part that Allstate did send. During all of that was hassle-free. Allstate is a good company because I've already had them for my cars for years, so I knew right away, when it comes to Allstate, I would definitely recommend it.

    I got an Allstate protection plan for a freeze dryer. The dryer was a gift to me, and when the person who bought it funds transferred the receipt from Harvest right to me, it was an ungodly ridiculously difficult task. However, transferring the warranty over to me was beyond easy and appreciated that. Allstate was really easy to work with. The dryer started acting up. It was flooding with water, and that's not what it should be doing as a freeze dryer. I just started that process of the claim. It hasn't been resolved. We don't know what's wrong with it yet.     The center diamond on my wife’s 2.95-carat diamond ring fell out while we were traveling back from Florida or Georgia. She came out of the bathroom and noticed it was gone. We looked but couldn’t find it. I told her not to worry because I bought a 10-year warranty from Allstate. We filed the claim, and they asked for the ring in, and we sent it. I sent them the receipt from Sam's Club, the item number for the ring, and the item number for the policy. They asked for a little card, but Sam’s said they don’t provide those anymore. The rep told me to send a picture, so I sent one my wife had, and they told me they would get back to me on the 5th. That was just a day or two away and I wondered how they would respond that quickly. He explained that it would go to their adjusters, and they would let me know what they could do. By Wednesday, I hadn’t received an update, so I called. Then I got an email saying the claim was denied.

    Allstate said their policy excludes anything above 2.25 or 2.5 carats. My wife’s ring is 3 carats. I asked how they could deny it when I bought a warranty for that specific ring. I spoke to a supervisor, and she told me they only cover up to 2.25 carats according to the policy they sent. I told her that was very misleading. The policy includes furniture, tires, and all kinds of things jumbled together. It’s broken into sections, but it’s not clear. I told her it felt deceptive to sell a policy that makes people think their ring is covered bumper-to-bumper when it’s not and that I looked them up on the Better Business website and saw they had a high denial rate. The only thing they offered was to refund the $200 I paid for the 10-year warranty. I would not recommend buying anything covered by Allstate or SquareTrade. They do not hold up to their end of the bargain.

    I have a bad history of buying electronic devices and them not working, and Allstate was offered to me when I made the purchase on Walmart.com and it was affordable. I’d better have it than not because with my history, I will need it and not have it. I bought a robot vacuum and all I did was order the item and put it in my cart. Before it was added to the cart, a little pop-up came up asking if I wanted to purchase the warranty, showing the 12-month and 24-month options with the prices. I clicked what I wanted and moved on. It didn’t pressure me or try to convince me to buy anything. It gave me the freedom to choose, and the options were clearly explained, including the length and what it covers. There was also a hyperlink I could click to see the coverage. It was very convenient.

    The spinning brush on the device stopped working after a couple of months. It was still covered under a manufacturer's warranty. However, the brand that I purchased didn't come with any manufacturer contact information. So, I was able to use the Alexa app for the website. I went to the website, and did a robot chat and I was told that they didn't offer stuff like that. I said it’s on the box. So, I had to reach out to Allstate through the Walmart app because that's where the policy is. I was asked simple questions like when I purchased it and what item it was. It happened very quickly. Allstate resolved my issue immediately. It was perfect. There wasn't any delays in my claim to be accepted or approved or fulfilled, as well as in the delivery of a replacement item. They didn't require me to package up an old item and send it in, probably because it was broken. They were very helpful and supportive. Everything worked out very well and I was very pleased.

    The replacement device is a different brand. So, they didn't send me the same thing. Some places replace it with a refurbished item. With Allstate, everything was brand new, a newer model, and a more upgraded operating system. So, I was very happy about that. Allstate is quick and responsive. Overall, I'm satisfied. They have an easy process to navigate on the customer side of things.

    Having an extended warranty is very valuable to me because most time with manufacturer warranties where it's a year or 30 days or higher than 90 days, the items that I purchased and the things that I use them for, I would use them once or twice within that range, and right after I would need them again, they break, so it's good to have that extra security to where how many years it is that I asked for it, it keeps me protected.     I had purchased a heater in the past and it failed, and it was three weeks past the warranty period. Home Depot wasn’t able to replace it for me. And that was the second time I bought one, and they tend to have the same failure, so I decided to make the investment to make sure I could replace it. I used to be a store manager for RadioShack back in the day and sold a lot of extended warranties, and helped customers with a lot of their claims. And Allstate was very easy to do. It makes me happy because I have several extended warranties through Allstate with Walmart as well, on some of the TVs I own. So, it's encouraging to know that they make the process that easy.

    Having an extended warranty is worth it. Nobody plans on an accident and when something goes wrong, it's always at the worst time. I see these extended warranties as peace of mind for the future.     We had two claims with the refrigerator, and the first one wasn't the best experience. The amount of effort that I had to put in on it was just incredible. And then the call center that they route you through, it was just really, really hard to understand the people that I was speaking with. I don't think that English is their first language, and it just was really difficult. But the second claim was pretty good. The person that I spoke to for the second claim was very helpful, and that one went rather well. But the first one was just like pulling teeth. You have to document this, so you document it and send it back. And then they'd come up with something else. It was like they wanted you to go away almost.

    Both claims did get done. So the warranty was worth what I paid for it. But Allstate could make it easier to file a claim. Now the second one was easier, but I just sort of bypassed the whole process and got around it. Then the other thing that it depends on who you get. Some people are very good at what they do. The second person I got was very good at what she did. The first one I got, not so much. So that makes a big difference in how your claim gets handled too.

    The frame and one of the legs of the sofa broke. The claims process was kinda quick but I felt uncomfortable because they couldn't find the exact match. It took me so long to get that color and that size, but they couldn't find it because they didn't have the same color at the site. So, it was a lot of back and forth. In the end, I got another sofa in the same price range. So, it was okay, but not great.

    Getting a protection plan is tricky because you pay in advance for something that could break or not. But at the end of the day, the results are not the ones that you're expecting. It was easier to get a gift card from Wayfair and I could choose something in the same color or more according to what the item was broken. But since the beginning, Allstate said, “No, no, no.” They didn't give me any chance to try to get an item that looks better. At the end, if I wanted one that was nicer or the same as I had before, I bought it a year ago, so the prices are going to rise. So, I got some cheap sofa instead.

    I bought this protection plan when we bought a a high-end Electrolux washer and dryer from Famous Tate in Oldsmar, Florida.

    Because I've had issues with these washers and dryers before I know many of the local appliance repairs in the area. I know who to ask for and who not to. Allstate never gave me a choice. In fact, I had to use two different companies for the washer and the dryer, even though I called at the same time for both.

    For the dryer, they referred me to specialty Appliance Repair in Clearwater Florida. 90% of the time when I called I couldn't get through and I kept getting a recording saying we're very busy and please call back. This was constant. When they ordered parts from Allstate, I had to call to get tracking numbers. The technician that came out came off as arrogant and he wouldn't put all the parts on the dryer claiming that well if I deem it's not necessary I would get in trouble if I put the parts on. A drum belt seriously?? By the way, the dryer still is not working correctly.

    Are the washer they referred me to Atria appliance care based in Orlando, Florida. They seemed a little better but again I had to call On obtaining tracking numbers for parts. They were never sent unless I asked. The technician I had were not clean off rust around the front loader washer door before putting in a screw. Seriously? I actually had to put the screw back in after cleaning up myself and looping it up a bit. Boy, a real hard thing to do.

    Overall, all states Customer Service reps speak from a canned script because they're overseas. They don't have very good customer service, acumen, and constantly speak over you and ignore what you're trying to tell them. In short, when I buy appliances again, which I'm sure I'll have to because they're made so poorly. I will never use Allstate protection plan again and we'll go out of my way to avoid them.

    We redid our kitchen a number of years ago and purchased the appliances from Home Depot along with the extended warranty from Allstate. When I had to file my first claim, I did it over the phone and it worked out to be fairly straightforward and simple. They had tried defrosting the whole refrigerator so I had to take everything out, store it in an ice chest and do a 24-hour defrost. That didn't work so I had to put everything back in. Then the guy came out and did some troubleshooting. I had to empty the refrigerator portion, not the freezer, and they fixed it. At first, I was a little hesitant because I had to put all the money out of pocket upfront. But Allstate sent me a check within four or five days of the repair being finished. Filing a claim wasn't a problem. But it’s after you file a claim to get in touch with them, it's like pulling teeth. They use email. And when you ask questions, they don't answer you. It's back and forth. You can't get to talk to somebody. Then eventually, when I got somebody to talk to, they just said, “Your claim was denied because the technician came and he couldn't replicate the problem. And there was a problem.” I just gave up on them. I'm very disappointed.

From the beginning, I had to go through so many representatives telling me to do this and do that constantly. I had to do the same thing over and over again.     I bought a washer a couple of years ago and when it went out, we didn't have a protection plan. We use the washer often, so I got one. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. The washer stopped washing and was just filling up with water and not draining. I called Nebraska Furniture Mart and they referred me to Allstate. I went online and the process was simple. I was asked for information but I didn’t have to do much because it was followed up with a phone call from the techs who were coming out.

    The communication was nice, especially before the techs arrived. They called and left a voicemail to let me know what time they were coming out. They kept me in the loop about what we were waiting on, followed up consistently, and were prompt with the times they said they would arrive. It was frustrating, though, that when I originally reported the issue, Allstate sent out parts before the tech arrived, just based on what I was telling them was the issue. I ended up going almost three weeks without a washer because I waited a week and when the tech came out, every part that Allstate sent was not any of the parts that would fix the issue. So he had to order the parts, and we had to wait for that. Overall, I love the protection plan and I’m satisfied with how the washer was fixed, although the timeframe was entirely too long. When you're three weeks without a washer and you are a family of five, it's challenging.

    Somebody bought out Briggs & Stratton stock, and it's all trash. I have an 82-volt battery charger for a Briggs & Stratton blower. I got two batteries and neither one of them will work. I plugged them out and they arched out at the plug real bad. When I bought the chargers and batteries, I thought of adding Allstate's protection plan. It was not that much more expensive, but it's been a disaster. A two-year warranty doesn't mean anything. It's guaranteed a two-year warranty from the company, but Allstate won't back anything up that is not working when it comes in. They have done nothing. They won't even answer my email. I've had Allstate in different situations and it's always been good until this battery deal.

    My dog urinated all over the couch and stained it. It smelled bad and I had to move it outside the house. The rep from Allstate said they don’t cover odors, and I pointed out that if I didn't tell them that, it would have been covered. Allstate denies you on something that was unrelated and gives you back the warranty expense of what you paid, so they don't have to pay the claim out. Wayfair has refunded the warranty expense, and it went to a credit card that had been closed. I'll eventually get the $47 in the mail. But it was terrible. It's a total scam and I’m not happy with it. I paid for something and Allstate didn't deliver. I'll never recommend them and I’ll never buy the warranty again.

    I have a warranty through Allstate and I needed my washer and dryer to work. The door error code kept coming on on the dryer, and the washer died. I submitted a claim online, then I called the 1800 number to set up an appointment to get it fixed and we are still working on it. The dryer is fixed for now. The technician came out and replaced a part, and he said that the door jamb is the main problem. The whole door needs to be replaced, and we'll see what comes of that. On the other hand, the drain pump on the washer stopped working and the motherboard was fried. Allstate sent a new motherboard, but we are waiting for the drain pump.     What a waste time and money for a warranty when sent off for repair and come back NOT REPAIRED.     We bought a Kenmore Elite Vacuum. Getting the warranty claim completed was very difficult. I had several phone calls. I was not advised of the status of the claim until day 6 or 7. The supervisor I spoke with was very terse and rude. She gave me 2 minutes to cover the issues I was having with the warranty claim. After the claim was approved, I received an email from Square Trade that said I was getting a Wal-Mart gift card. I called in to say this was not acceptable and I wanted a check to be issued to me. I was told that I had already accepted the Wal-Mart gift card. This was not a true statement. I asked for proof or evidence of my acceptance. None was provided.

    Getting Allstate Protection Plans is a great deal. A lot of people aren't interested in getting warranties. But when it comes to certain types of electronic equipment or appliances, they should get it. I hardly place a call. I almost always do it online. It's easy. Also, the turnaround time is quick. Allstate had somebody come out to attempt to fix the washer. It was still under warranty. They sent someone out twice, but they weren't able to fix it the right way. So, they gave me the money to go out to buy another one. That's fantastic.

    I might have bought at least nine different plans from Allstate over my lifetime. I've been in enough situations that I know it's worth it. It may not seem like it at first and it's not always I use it for everything that I buy. But for the things that have broken, it has been worth it. If I had to buy a new washer, they gave me the money for it. I didn't have to buy it out of my pocket. Between $50 and $100, that was worth it.

    Filed a claim for my item that had the protection plan. I had already contacted the manufacturer to file a claim through them but manufacturer's warranty had expired. The website is not user friendly and when you contact them directly they are not helpful. Once I was finally able to get through to someone that could help me complete the process. They assured me that everything was completed. Followed up after 2 weeks to be informed that pictures of the items were REQUIRED, despite this not being listed in the terms and conditions or policy guidelines. Asked to speak to a manager and they were of no assistance. After 2 months of sending all "required" information my claims issue has still not been resolved. They have done everything possible to not fully process my claim. At this point I feel as this is a scam and do not recommend to anyone.

    Our LG TV has a problem with the volume fluctuating. It will go down then up. I called Costco and after all of my info was taken, I was transferred to Allstate. My information was taken and a claim was made. I was told to call back when it was actually happening. I called back 67 minutes later and was told I needed to record the volume problem and send it to them. That was too much. I told her NO I was not recording for maybe an hour or more to record the problem. I have a service call set up in 9 days (my choice). We will see what happens.

    I would leave zero stars if that was an option. When I bought the plan I was told all repairs would be made within 2-3 days. A tech did come out a week and a half after I called, however he couldn’t do anything because Allstate never ordered the required parts. He said I would have to call them, gave them order and get him back out. When I called Allstate, they initially blamed the tech, then said they would have to research the issue which would take 1-2 days. 2 days later - nothing. I called again and they gave me the same research line. I asked to speak to a manager and got hung up on 3x in a row.

    After another 2 weeks of the same BS conversations they finally have another tech scheduled to come out. However, the tech is supposed to be out in 2 days and my status still shows they haven’t ordered the parts. When I called today they said the parts were back ordered and they would let me know when they order them. When I mentioned their 2-3 day service guarantee they said they would mail me a $50 check for the inconvenience. Really? I haven’t had a stove/oven for 3 weeks. $50 doesn’t make us for the food I had to throw away as I don’t have a means to cook it, or for the $ I’ve had to spend eating out. This isn’t is insane. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T BUY THIS SORRY EXCUSE FOR A WARRANTY.

    I bought an extended warranty on my vacuum cleaner from these people. It quit after 8 months. So nice they were on the phone. They did not know what was wrong with it, but sent a part that took 3 weeks to get here. It did not solve the problem. When I tried to call back, the number would not work. They somehow ghosted me. In summation, I paid $400 for a vacuum for only 8 months. THEY SUCK!!!

    I made the mistake of buying a SquareTrade extended warranty from Costco. When the LED lamp in my refrigerator died, I called Squaretrade to submit a claim. At first, it was a straightforward process of submitting a description of the problem, providing serial number and pictures. So far so good. Then I had to speak to a "specialist" more than once. The call center appears to be in India and some of the agents barely speak English.

    Squaretrade scheduled an appointment for 8:00 AM the following week. They neglected to tell me it was 8:00 AM PST (I live on the East Coast). The repair person was from a construction company 90 minutes away from my home. How a person from a construction company is qualified to perform a repair on a major appliance is beyond me. Anyway, he never showed up, so I ended up performing the repair myself. The only positive thing about this experience is Squaretrade did send the required part, and it was OEM, not a cheap knockoff. Lesson learned, get your extended warranty from the manufacturer, not Squaretrade.

    We have a broken dishwasher and have been calling and writing Allstate for 3 weeks and they aren’t helping us at all.     A waste of time and money if you purchase a protection plan with Allstate and need customer service. Good luck. I purchased a protection policy for a Pottery Barn carpet I ended up returning. I was not efficient costumer service chatting with a bot and/or AI when things are not being resolved because they keep repeating the same responses. With no contact number provided at all it is very difficult for resolution. I'd think twice about a purchase with Allstate.

    When we purchased our washer and dryer, the sales person highly recommended the protection plan. We had an issue with our dryer. We had somebody come out and it was just that the vent was closed, not a mechanical problem. The tech reopened it and it was fine. But while he was at the house, I mentioned to him that the lid on the washer made a clicking sound. He said, “Report it and I'll come back and fix it,” which I did.     I have Allstate for my Samsung washer and dryer combo, sectional, couch, for my $3,000 Samsung refrigerator that has all the bells and whistles. I always purchase the extended warranty for anything that I buy from Nebraska Furniture. My couch is a year and three months old, and it's collapsing in two different areas. The chaise area is completely concave, and Allstate hasn't fixed it yet.

    Allstate said they will send somebody out between this time and this time. The first time, they changed the schedule on me. When they change the schedule, they give you a link to "view" the new scheduled but you can't click it. So, I sat at home all day on Saturday just hoping they show up. Dan did show up. He thought there was a bunch of springs that might have come undone inside on the base area. Also, he said he will order a new chaise cushion because it was bowed in. He was very nice and made me feel like he was going to get something done. But that's it. I never got the parts.

    A new tech came out a couple weeks later, this last Saturday when I sat there all day again. I received an email saying that I'll receive parts, and not to open them. The technician has to open them. But I have not received any. The tech came and said he didn't have any parts and so, he couldn't do anything. Somebody called a couple of days before he came and said the parts should be here. I don't know what's going on. That was weeks ago. I don't know why Allstate sent the other tech out if they weren't ready. I lost two Saturdays now, and I still have the same situation. If the couch is not gonna get fixed, I don't know if it was worth purchasing the plan.

    I recommend for people to get Allstate Protection Plans all the time with their stuff. Anytime people order from Walmart or they get a TV, I always let them know to not forget to get the Allstate protection plan because it worked miracles for me. Allstate always helps me out. They have been very good to me since I started with them. And I'm not gonna go without it, unless I go somewhere else.

    I use them for every item I have, like electronics or things that I know that I want to get a protection plan in. I order from Walmart all the time and they provide Allstate, so I use Allstate all the time. Every time my air mattress started sinking, they always send a new one. I recently went with them for my TV that had blacked out. But when we took it to the place, they did not fix it. I threw it away because they said the motherboard and the whole screen were broken. They couldn't do anything about it. I said it's fine. I'll just buy another one. I will get Allstate protection plan on the new TV as well.

    I purchased Allstate protection plans for an Xbox XXL and a VR headset for my son. I had to file a claim six times for my son's VR and the first time I called it in, I encountered some confusion about whether I needed a receipt. Initially, I was told I didn't need it, but then they asked for it. After clarifying, the process went smoothly, and they fixed the issue without further problems.

    Everyone should have a protection plan. It's great to have when you have kids and you buy them high-priced gaming products, earphones and anything that you spend money on because you can get it replaced or fixed. I started using the Allstate protection plan last year and I always go back to Walmart because they have it and that's who I go for.     The place I purchased my wedding ring from offered an Allstate protection plan for it. When my wife tried to file a claim due to wear and tear, it was very hard. Nobody tried to help her. I got involved online and it was not easy. I got somebody to help me out on the phone and it was not good, especially foreigners, so I had to request someone in the united states to help me out. I got help, but so far, it has not been a good experience. I don't think my ring thing got lost in the mail. I called Allstate again, and there was no help. I'm still waiting.

    I purchased a dehumidifier online through Walmart and I was offered an Allstate protection plan. It was a wise purchase for me ‘cause I needed it and it did what it was supposed to do when the dehumidifier quit working properly. It was running and it sounded fine but it was not pulling any moisture out of the air. I contacted Walmart and they gave me bad instructions. They said I had to go to the manufacturer, so I wasted about an hour trying to do that. When I finally went back to my email from the protection plan company, it said how to contact them if there was a problem. Once I contacted the protection plan company, everything went fine.

    The protection plan was very valuable for me. Otherwise, I would have been out, totally, the money. While I was a bit disappointed that Allstate didn't offer me to buy another one when they shipped me the new one, they offered me comparable items. I would have liked to have had the same unit back, but I've made a choice and the new unit has arrived. It's working fine, so I'm happy. Overall, getting an Allstate protection plan was worth it for my purchase.
