My son is doing a lot better with Sylvan Learning, and it’s been nothing but a great experience. Even his teacher says he's making improvements. We’re focusing more on getting him where he needs to be with reading because he was still at kindergarten level and he just finished the first grade. We're just trying to get him on track at first grade level so second grade won't be difficult for him. He's excited every time we go because he likes the rewards-type program where he earns points and receives little prizes at the end.

My child needed help in Mathematics. We were with Sylvan for about two months and there was a marked improvement from when our child started. We had nothing but positive experiences while we were there. We stopped after two months only because we noticed a really big improvement. We felt like it was the motivation to get our child to where he needed to go.

My kid used to go to Kumon, and compared to that experience, he is not as stressed at Sylvan. He’s focused on reading and math, and he comes out happy. He seems more excited to show me stuff but his reading skills haven’t improved yet. I’m still giving them time since we’ve only been there for two months. It’s still early.

My kid seems to understand algebra better. I’m not seeing it so much directly in his grades, but he seems more confident, and hopefully, it comes along with time. We’ve been doing Sylvan for maybe two months now. Communication with the tutor is very good. I’ll get more feedback when I have my first meeting to sit down with Morgan on Tuesday.

We’re using the Sylvan in Riverton. The people are very kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is really good too. The environment they’re going into is the number one for me, before the teaching and learning. Overall, I love the teacher, the tutors, and the managers are really great. My child is more confident and enjoying it.

We used to go for in-school tutoring and Sylvan is targeting more things that our daughter needs help with. She likes it, and the school tested her and she has moved up one reading level since we’ve started not very long ago.

The teacher is very good. They take their time. But I'm not satisfied at all with the communication that they gave me when they first did the interview and starting the program. We went to Sylvan for my daughter, in regards to reading and math, and the experience was good until they gave me a bill. I had paid in advance for her to take some classes and they were supposed to stop the classes when she had completed the ones that I had paid for. But they kept going with the classes until the ending of the month. Then they tell me I owe this much.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Sylvan Learning Center in Pembroke Pines. My grandson was significantly behind in school—testing below kindergarten level—even as he was nearing the end of 1st grade. We had tried several options before discovering Sylvan, including school-based tutoring through Dojo and after-school help led by high school students. Unfortunately, those didn’t make much of a difference, mostly due to delays, inconsistency, and a lack of tailored support. Then we found Sylvan—and what a difference it has made! In just 60 hours of instruction, my grandson has progressed to a beginning 1st-grade level. That’s a huge leap in such a short time, and it’s thanks to the structured, professional, and engaging approach the tutors at Sylvan provide.

I first saw Sylvan Learning at a fair. Everything was easy when I set up with them. My child is enjoying going to Sylvan, and I’ve seen some improvement with him at school.

Our experience with Sylvan has been wonderful. We’ve tried so many different tutors that were a lot more expensive than Sylvan, and we've dropped all of them. We just stayed with Sylvan because there is consistency. They walk my child through slowly, she learns, and she progresses. They also give me reports. So, I really like their structure. My child does one hour of math and one hour of ELA every Saturday.

We’ve been doing Sylvan Learning since the beginning of April, and so far, so good. Things are just humming along as they should. I’ve already seen some marked improvements, and my daughter's confidence is better. She’s very comfortable going there and she actually enjoys going to the tutoring.

Sylvan Learning stepped in when I really needed it. I saw them locally, then I looked online and saw that there was virtual tutoring. That made me interested. My daughter is getting a little more confident. No kid wants to get on the computer and tutor after school but the program is helping her. It's definitely supplementing what she's missing at school. I've listened to the tutors and they cater to her nicely. They fit her personality, and they aren't moving too fast. They make sure she's comfortable. Sometimes, they'll ask some questions about her, which is nice. It's not all business all the time. At one point, my daughter was like, "I know this stuff." Some of it's a little easier, but it's good to do a check-in at some point every couple of times with the parent to see if something’s a little different. That's the only thing, but I trust the process a little. It’s been wonderful with Sylvan Learning.

It was a test to see if this was going to be something long-term. They make it so easy for opt-out programs, so the opt-out is you’re month-to-month contracted in for the most part, as long as you let them know 30 days in advance. You have to know whether or not it's something that is effective. And sometimes the program is an effective program. It just so happened that it does not apply to my granddaughter this time. This place has been worthwhile from 20 years ago. It was a great experience. It really was.

It's going great with Sylvan Learning. We signed up a couple of years ago, and my son's gonna start in the summer again. He's good in school, but we put him in the summer to keep his brain in school mode. We like the assessments. They really help him grow. Because of all the transition through COVID and a lot of teachers always quitting, kids have been behind on writing paragraphs and sentences, handwriting, and spelling, ‘cause they're always on laptops. Writing paragraphs is what we're focusing on this summer in Sylvan.

As far as what she's learning, I can't say enough about Sylvan Learning. They do a great job. She's halfway through her SAT prep, she's done multiple practice tests there, and her score comes up every time, so it's definitely helping. But she’s in group tutoring and sometimes it takes 30 minutes before they get to her, so at $60 an hour, that has wasted a lot of money, and I was pretty upset. But I talked to them about it and they resolved it quickly, at least for last week anyway.

I heard about Sylvan Learning through my husband's job. We used someone locally at the school. I didn't feel comfortable with that, but I did with Sylvan. My child has only been going for a few weeks, but he's a little bit more confident because he goes for reading, and he's been pronouncing more words.

My kids are being tutored in Math and Reading, and I can see a big improvement. The cost is a little high, but my kids are learning. So, never mind all the cost. It is a really good experience. Everything is 10 out of 10.

My daughter is being tutored in English and has been going to Sylvan for about two months now. I don’t know if there’s been an improvement yet, but she likes going there, and that’s a positive sign.

We decided to choose Sylvan because when I checked on the Internet, they were not far away from my home. I also talked with the center manager who sounds very professional and helpful. They’re helping my son’s writing for more than a month now and I can see some improvements. They can teach him methodology about how to write and to broaden his vocabulary. Overall, our experience has been good.

My wife’s former teacher works for Sylvan, so we enrolled my son there. He really enjoys going. They’ve been helping him with math and reading comprehension. My son has more confidence in his work now and does it in a timelier manner. It’s been awesome. Anything to enhance my child’s ability to be successful, there’s no price on it.

My daughter’s grades are going up because of Sylvan Learning, so I know she’s learning. She likes going there even on Saturdays. It’s expensive, but it is what it is.

The Sylvan in Lexington has been great. I like that that they can get my daughter engaged and she enjoys it there. They’re helping her learn how to properly form sentences and paragraphs and use proper grammar, and in math, going over the different formulas that they're using for her grade.

I knew about Sylvan Learning because of the commercials. My sister also used it before. Now my son goes there, and he loves it. He’s at an upward steady pace. The main thing is his confidence has gotten a lot better. Overall, I love Sylvan. I love their service, communication, and the conferences.

I used a private tutor before who came to our house. Sylvan is a good alternative to that, although it’s a little more expensive. My child has been taking reading with them for two months now, and I have yet to see any differences. The people at Sylvan are very friendly and welcoming. Overall, I am satisfied with the quality of service.

My child’s reading improved significantly with Sylvan. The virtual option has worked really well for us. And all of the staff members have been great.

I have a learning disability myself and I had researched about Sylvan Learning with my mom when I was younger, and they are one of the ones that came up and we could afford them. My niece was going through the program. She and my son are very close so it was an easy choice for us to put them in the same program so that they could see that kids of the same age and everybody has their own trouble that they are working through.

I was researching through Facebook on our local community pages, asking for referrals for local tutors who could help my son. I also explored private one-on-ones with experienced teachers. I filled out a web form online from Sylvan Learning and waited for them to contact me. We’ve been with them for nine months. With my child, reading was the primary focus. They started by going back to previous grade levels and working on the basics, which means phonics, sounds, and sight words.

At the end of last year, on the recommendation of friends and family, we enrolled our daughter with Sylvan Learning’s SAT program and private classes on Zoom. Right now, she’s on the ACT program. She’s done with mathematics and has started writing and reading. We haven’t gotten the results from her tests last week, but she’s happy with her progress.

My daughter had a really good experience in SAT prep with Sylvan. It was great. It’s near us and I’d always heard good things about it from other people.

I went with Sylvan after using a different tutoring service because my sister had used it and had good results. My children’s experience has been great, and there have been improvements in reading and confidence. Once they are there, they enjoy going to the tutoring.

My daughter has been attending Sylvan Learning of Franklin for 2 years now and they have done a phenomenal job. I've observed my daughter grow academically and it has been amazing. I chose Sylvan Learning because it’s close to our house. My child isn’t quite reading yet, so it’s hard to see any kind of improvements, but it was good.

I did Sylvan about 35 years ago, and I knew it was a good program. My child is working on reading and they must be doing something right because her grades have been improving, teachers have noticed, and her confidence is growing. She’s only been there about five to six weeks, but in that short time, they’ve made a noticeable difference. I think a lot of it has to do with the phonics approach they use.

I enrolled my child for Math tutoring for the opportunity to use the step-up for students program. He doesn’t like to do anything related with Math so the only option that makes him want to go there is the reward system that they use. They apply some points that they could use for some goodies. He’s had about 14 classes and I’ve been satisfied with the tutors so far.

The interaction with the tutor from Sylvan Learning is very good. It's for math and reading. The learning experience is going well. I’m very happy with it. The customer service is very good.

In the 80s, my mom took my little brother to Sylvan, and then in the early 2000s, I took my son. Now, I am on our last child with them. I already know they have it fully established. We only can go once a week because she has speech therapy four times. It was way too much to do in one day plus school, so they agreed. But, I know that her teachers talked to me because she was reading her little book and they pulled me aside, and the other teacher wrote me a letter to let me know how well she’s doing. So, my daughter is improving.

A teacher recommended Sylvan to my daughter. While I have not seen major changes yet since she started tutoring, she seems to be getting better.

My younger cousin was at Sylvian when we were younger, so I was familiar with it. It worked with her, so I just decided to just go with them for my daughter. They focused on reading and spelling with my child. Theres been improvement as far as her understanding how certain letters sound and how they can change with the vowels and stuff. Her grade actually went up a little bit in school.

My son currently goes to Sylvan for reading, and he really enjoys it. That’s all we’re using right now. I might look into getting some extra help within Sylvan with their upcoming deals. So far, we’re happy with his reading.

Since using Sylvan Learning, I wouldn't say I see an improvement with my child as of yet because it's too early. He's only had three to four sessions and he likes it so far. He only goes for math, but I was thinking about adding reading. Other than that, I don't have any complaints.

My son had a great time at Sylvan. He improved his math class in the 9th grade and never had a problem. And if we couldn’t make it, and we needed to reschedule, they were very accommodating. So, we had no issues with them. Sometimes I have to bribe my son to get out of the house and do something. But with Sylvan, I had no problems. So, I know he learned a lot, and he enjoyed the atmosphere.

It's been an excellent experience with Sylvan. My daughter was struggling in Math, Geometry, and I couldn't help her. So I just decided to reach out to them to get her some extra help. She had an F last semester, and this semester, she got a B.

Sylvan Learning’s enrollment process was easy. The lady was very nice. The tutors were nice to my child and they treated him with respect. He said he liked it a lot.

We did walk in at Sylvan. My kid does like going to tutoring but he’s still the same, no improvement.

My son is a little bit behind in math. That’s why we used Sylvan Learning. I went to Kumon before, but that's not gonna work for him. They told me where he can start now, and it’s very low level. I need something fast, the level where he is now.

We tried to work out some kind of tutoring through the school, and that went nowhere. It was not helpful. it was just scheduling times. It was like, "Okay. Well, maybe we'll have some time after school on Thursday or maybe next week.” It's just Tuesday. It was totally inconsistent.

Over the years, I used to see commercials for Sylvan, and it stuck in my head. When my daughter needed tutoring, I said, “Let me see if it’s still around and what they got going on,” and it looked like a good program.

I used Sylvan Learning when I was a child in the fourth grade and I am using them now for my child. During the enrollment process, we went over my child's learning level and the fact she has ADHD. So they went over what they will teach her. They gave her an assessment which took about an hour for each subject. They then went over that assessment with me and what areas she needs to work on, and then just discussed payment.

Sylvan Learning accommodated my son in the times that we needed. The instructor we ended up with was very knowledgeable about math and science and my son has improved as far as understanding both subjects. Dealing with the people locally has been really good. But it's inconvenient when I call and it goes to a national phone number, and then it trickles down to the person who's local ‘cause it took a minute for that to happen. It wasn’t any fault of Sylvan here, but it would be much more personal and more accommodating if I could just call and talk to somebody or leave a message for somebody here and they would call me back. It's hard to deal with a big corporation somewhere else in the United States, and then it trickles down finally to whatever Sylvan in whatever area.

My husband did all the legwork on his end, but it sounded like enrolling our children was fairly simple. He contacted Sylvan, was able to get an appointment pretty quickly, and brought the kids in for an assessment. We signed up after that, so the process was simple.

After we moved, I had to look to something closer, and we went with Sylvan based on internet research. The enrollment process was great. They explained everything and broke everything down. They are focusing on reading comprehension, the basic phonics, to get my daughter to where she needs to be. They are way better than the school. The experience has been great between me and her dad and his wife. We are in two different cities and they keep not only me updated, but they call them every Friday and keep them updated on what’s going on with her. So, there has been great communication.

I went Sylvan for their convenience and price. I had the tutor focus on SAT and AP calculus with my son. He hasn’t taken any of his tests yet but I would recommend Sylvan.

Our daughter has been getting reading tutoring from Sylvan Learning. She just started at the first of the year and has been practicing with it. We like it so far. The price is good and it’s not expensive.

My work covers Sylvan Learning and the location is convenient. I also heard from other people with a good review. My daughter did reading first, and now writing. She likes the tutor, how detailed she explained to her, how she works closely with her, the way they determine what part she needs attention, and they work towards achieving that. It helps out how to build her thoughts. It’s good so far. It helps the kids. It helps the family from stress. It works.

A friend recommended Sylvan. My child attended for four months for Math and we saw good improvement. I have no complaints with the Lewes office.

Before using Sylvan Learning, we got tutoring online, and this is better. My son does reading and math, while my daughter does only reading.

Oh, boy. Best decision I ever made for my child. I went to Sylvan Learning because the school district couldn’t provide the services that my 13-year-old needed. She was doing ELA, English and math, and the tutor helped her improve significantly. There was a lot of work to be done, and it was worth every penny we spent.

Sylvan Learning was the only tutoring place we were familiar with. It’s pretty pervasive. It’s been great. My 17-year-old seems to be finding it helpful. He goes every scheduled time, and it’s never a fight to do it. Other than that, I don’t have any sense of improvement because I haven’t heard anything.

My son is a really good student, but he's getting something out of Sylvan Learning that will be useful. It's mostly to make sure his English is on par with what it needs to be because we lived out of the country for a long time. It’s been good. The only thing was at the beginning, we didn't understand how it all worked and it was hard to get started. When he took the practice test and he logged in to work through the different modules where he missed problems, it wasn't clear what the next steps were. I just kept getting an email saying he hadn’t logged in whatever number of days, even though he had finished. And so, it wasn't clear at the beginning that once he finished doing all that, that was it. But they were responsive when we called to ask questions and figure stuff out.

My child's experience with Sylvan has been going well. He's in first grade and he's definitely improving. It's been at least three or four months right now and everything's been very positive. Their service is worth the money.

While I see him progressing in the right direction and gaining improvement, the process seems slower than I expected. Nonetheless, my child enjoys the experience, particularly the small class sizes, which seem more appealing to him compared to regular school settings.

There are a few Sylvan Learning tutors that my son doesn't feel comfortable with because he said they're rude. But he doesn't complain about not wanting to go. He likes it. However, The service is very expensive whether I pay it out of cash or through ESA. I had to stop the Math tutoring because I haven't been able to pay the full original down payment off. Poor thing, he can't go to his Math, because I can't do both of them at one time. I understand they take time out of their day, and get that they have their degrees. But for the price that we pay, and the whole Sylvan Club, it's very expensive. My son went from crying every time I asked him to read, to now he wants to pick up a book and he wants to read. With his Reading curriculum, he wants to read it. He wouldn't even try before.

I've known about Sylvan Learning for years, but it wasn't until an internet search and a conversation with the center director that we decided it was the right place for our son. So far so good! My son’s reading level increased from reading grade 3.5 to 7.5. I enrolled him in September and in January he exceeded his goal. I just switched him from reading to math and I’m hoping for the same results. This is a little pricey but worth the cost. They work with you and I love that. I’m happy my son is attending this program.

My daughter has been enrolled with Sylvan Learning for a couple of months. It's a bit pricey, but she likes going. She hasn't complained about anything. She's doing reading and math tutoring sessions. She took her test and her results will be back next week. So I'll see if she's going up the scale or if it's still at the same level.

I highly recommend Sylvan to anyone else who is struggling in Math. Tutors take their time and they really went above and beyond. They found extra resources that I needed. They were working with me and making sure that I understood how to work through and solve the problems. If I had any questions, I felt comfortable to ask. After my first session, I was expected to take the work home and work on it and to come back to my second session with any questions that I had after I had worked through the problems myself.

Sylvan seemed to have a better track record and better availability. So, we went with them and now, they're focusing on Math and ELA with my child. He's been going there over the last two years, just as needed, and he feels more confident that he's understanding the concepts. He's better able to apply them in the classroom setting. Sylvan's tutors present the material in several different formats so the students can absorb it as they do or not in general. There's better retention there.

Our experience with Sylvan has been wonderful. My daughter loves it. They brought her out of her shell. She's engaged and happy. Whereas in school, she's not engaged and happy. It's been a wonderful experience to get her back on track ever since COVID. I don't feel like the school district did enough to help with the learning loss that the kids suffered. My daughter was severely behind. I kept waiting for the school to do something, and then finally took matters into my own hands. I'm so glad I did because she is doing so much better in every subject. They concentrate on English and Math. She gets these very short assignments that are easy for her to digest and focus on. They seem to be very geared towards getting her to the next step and she's been progressing through wonderfully. We're completely satisfied with Sylvan. They're a little pricey, though. I wish it was a little more affordable.

We're happy with Sylvan Learning so far. We went with them because of their reputation. Our son is 17.5 years old, so he's handling it all on his own and he seems happy.

I initially chose Sylvan Learning because they were doing the ATP program for tutoring. I then looked at reviews on Google and people seem to like it. My daughter loves Sylvan Learning. She's now in fourth grade, but she's been doing it since third grade and she has improved tremendously. She had all As and one B this last report card. While I don't speak directly with the tutor themselves, the directors meet with me every eight weeks to give me an update and go over my child's progress. That was always very nice to see. They always had nice diagrams set up for me. I highly recommend Sylvan Learning. They definitely work and they're very organized.

They focus on algebra with my son, particularly preparing for an end-of-course exam. He brought the material that he needed to work on every day and they helped him digest and break down the problems. They generate additional questions from time to tome but the material was all provided by the school, for the most part. The outcome was exceptional, as my son achieved results that we were looking for.

I started using Sylvan Learning for my children's reading and writing tutoring a few months ago, around November. Both my children attend twice a week, and they seem to be enjoying it. I don't know exactly what they work on and I do not like using iPads a lot, but I know that they do. My daughter is currently working on writing a story, which she will finish soon. Although I appreciate the effort of the staff, I'd love to see more of their work brought home. It would be helpful to receive occasional updates or reports on their progress. Despite this, I find Sylvan flexible, and the staff is friendly and committed to helping the children. My kids have a positive outlook on their sessions, particularly my son who's a second grader and doesn't usually share much about school. Overall, I would rate Sylvan a 4 out of 5 and recommend it to others.

We've been using Sylvan Learning for about four years to help our son with his studies. Initially, we chose Sylvan because it was the nearest option, and since then, our experience has been positive. I have had a wonderful experience with sylvan staff and students. The staff always tries the best they can to help you with whatever you need including Homework!! I highly recommend if you need help to try Sylvan learning!

Waste of money!!! Get a private tutor instead!!! My son missed 3 sessions (6hrs) of SAT prep, he drove all the way to Timonium only to be told the tutor was not available. His score did not improve. I emailed to get a partial refund but nobody ever got back to me. Disappointed customer!

Marie has experienced a lot of great success. Sylvan Learning's program works. They're attentive. They work with me. They follow up. They are genuinely interested in the success of the student. My wife's brother used them many years ago and had experienced some very positive success with them. So, when I was trying to find something to help my daughter, I tried them first and met with Colleen, the center director. She is upbeat and positive. We picked a plan. We went forward. And in the first year that we did this, my daughter who hates Math, and still does, did well. Out of all her grades last year, that was her highest one. So, the process works. I have told them on multiple occasions that I couldn't be happier. My daughter likes going there. It's quiet. For someone with ADHD, she can focus there. I wish she could go there for hours and hours every day. I would recommend Sylvan to anyone who would be willing to listen.

Sylvan has been beneficial for our daughter, and I'm so glad that we did it. I prayed for a solution for a really long time to get our daughter caught up to the other students on her grade level, and the team at Sylvan is our blessing. Things have been going well with Sylvan. We had gone through the tutoring that was offered at the school for free, and Sylvan is so much better.

Sylvan Learning does a good job. They work collaboratively with the teachers to a one-on-one basis. So, your child would get the best learning across the board they could. There were several types of learning experience that the 504 grant recognized. Knowing my daughter and what was out there, she did well with tutoring. So, when I saw Sylvan Learning on there, I went through them. They are focusing on Reading first, then Math.

I knew about Sylvan from years ago so they have been around a little bit. One of the kids mine go to school with also goes to that same location. They've all been wonderful. My kids’ focus are Math and Science and I’ve seen a great improvement on them. Sylvan communicates very well with the parents. So, I appreciate that. It's been a great experience.

Sylvan has been doing a really good job with my children. They're focusing mostly on math and reading regarding some upcoming tests. They have a way to encourage the kids to go there and learn more and keep them challenged. My kids enjoy going to Sylvan. When I drop them off, I speak to the teachers. We also have monthly meetings to review the progress and from time to time, they'll send out emails to keep everybody up to what's going on with the class and with the organization. So it has been efficient.

In the past, we have used private tutors. They have done very well and they've come to our house. But Sylvan is a little bit more structured, more of a classroom environment, which is better for our grandson, for sure. They guide him in Math and reading. He got a couple of years behind during COVID and Sylvan is definitely helping. He's getting there but he's still got some work to do. But he's definitely more excited to learn. As his skill level comes up, he has a better outlook on school in general. It's always tough going to school, going in the classroom and being behind. I would definitely recommend Sylvan Learning. I'm very pleased with them.

Mathnasium was working very well. But they use mostly high school or college students and from what I've heard at the time, Sylvan uses teachers and professors so they might be more experienced. The older my kid was getting, the more she might need more proper help. We switched to Sylvan and did math help. Now, she's also getting help in chemistry every now and then.

Sylvan is my first choice because I previously had done tutoring back when I was in middle school with them. I specifically asked to be tutored in Math. I was given Sylvan's SAT Math prep book. Whenever I'd have a session, my tutor and I would open up to a certain area that I needed help with. I would also be assigned homework. The next time that we would come in, we'd go over the homework and go over the book. After I got to a certain level of familiarity with the subject, we moved on to another one, and that was helpful a lot. They also helped me with the SAT. I got 1140 from my previous score, 960. There was a dramatic increase.

They helped my child with the SAT prep. She's already completed the test and she went up by 50 points. I would recommend Sylvan, without question. The lead guy, Troy, at Sylvan Midlothian was absolutely terrific to work with.

My daughter loves Sylvan. She loves the way that they help motivate her to be focused. She just started. We're really enjoying it and the progress that she's making as well. Even the school has noticed a change as well. My daughter struggles with the comprehension of things. So the way that Sylvan approaches their questions and the way that they present it to her, I noticed that it's been really helpful to work with her needs and notice what she needs in order to help her. They have plans available to help to make it affordable for you to see what works best for you and your family. It's definitely nice that not only see the changes, but you can actually go online to see the progress that your child is making too. That's really nice. It's been a really great experience.

Sylvan Learning was the one that popped up in my head, so I went straight, researched it, looked it up, and contacted Liz out of the Oak Harbor office. She conference-called quickly. Two days later, my son was being evaluated in Oak Harbor. The following week, he started his tutoring sessions for Reading. The biggest thing is what my son feels and how comfortable he is. From the assessment right off the get-go, he was super excited about it.

Worst tutor service we've ever experienced. Customer service center never picks up the phone, email responses take days only if you hound them. We've had connection issues once and couldn't have the session, also couldn't log in to the website to cancel next day sessions knowing our connection wouldn't improve as we were traveling. Our tutor Brooke, refused to help us cancel the sessions. Once we were able to log in slightly outside of the 24 hour cancellation window (by about 30 minutes) we forfeited the sessions. Customer Service refused to reinstate those sessions. Brooke was unprofessional, cancelled last minute numerous times. Lazy, didn't do much work with the kids during sessions, just chatting, playing games with them. We tried another tutor James who was stuttering and our child could not understand him. It's incredible that all of these tutors have 5 star rating on the website. We had much better experience with Varsity Tutors.

My child is doing the coding classes with Sylvan and it’s going great. He’s excited because he’s learning. He’s 10 and developing his own games and he thinks that’s the coolest thing. We tell people about Sylvan if their kids are into computers. We said that we might as well use the computer in a positive way rather than sit there and be mindless and play games. We're very happy with our choice.

I put my daughter in Sylvan Learning over the summer when I was finishing grad school. I needed something for her to do while I was in class, and she enjoyed it. She was doing math and reading during the summer program. She was below grade level when they tested her and then she improved to reach her grade level before entering the beginning of the school year.

Before we joined the Sylvan Center, we had the Kumon, but the Kumon, it's more like do more work and it's have a lot of homework every day so my kids are not like it. They more like probably the face-to-face. The in-person will be more works for them, yeah. Both of my kids have the reading and the writing right now. English is our second language, so that's why we take Sylvan Learning to improve their reading and writing.

The location was convenient because I'm going to Southbury for my other kids and I saw good reviews. The name-brand recognition made me decide on Sylvan. The tutor is working on Reading with the little guy and Math with my daughter. They're doing awesome. I'm just going by academics but it's such a huge improvement in two months. My son has gone from not being able to read to being able to read some simple books, which is great. My daughter is much more confident in her Math skills, and she's doing multiplication. Sylvan is a great supplement to the school system. My children like going. They go for an hour, so it's quick for them. They're happy and excited to be feeling more confident in the areas that were giving them problems before, so they recognize the benefits.

Before we went with Sylvan Learning, we did an online tutoring last year. It was virtual and it was not as structured as Sylvan. They're in different tiers altogether. Sylvan has been significantly better. We did the reading and writing program for my daughter, and I've been seeing a lot of improvement with her. She has two different tutors, and they are both exceptional. One tutor started with reading and he gave the suggestion that my daughter would do better with a split program. Both of the tutors give very detailed reports at the end of each tutoring session on what they did, what was new, what they reviewed, and the different things that she did really well on or she needs to do a little more practice on.

I heard about Sylvan Learning through a friend, then I looked up information about it and I liked it. The communication with them is excellent too. They answer very promptly. My daughter doesn't like going, but I'm seeing a little progress. Her grades have picked up a bit.

I've always wanted my son to go to Sylvan. I never could afford it. But now, I can. They are cost-effective, and they offer payment arrangements. On his first day there, he was assessed and the assessment told us exactly what areas he needed to focus on to get him to where he needed to be. I really liked that. COVID messed him up a lot and he didn't do well with learning online so he missed a lot of concepts. With Sylvan, I like the teachers and the one-to-one attention. I also like the fact that they're meeting him where he is. He's doing Math and he's improved a lot. Normally, he would have an F. Right now he has a high C and he's been able to maintain that.

My kid is doing ELA, Math, and Writing with Sylvan. He's way more organized now. His grades have gone up. He's doing really good. He enjoys going there. He uses it for homework support also. It's a great place. They care. The staff is awesome. We have monthly meetings on progress. I couldn't ask for a better place.

My kids like Sylvan. They don't complain. They do what they need to do and come home. I would recommend it. I'm happy I found Sylvan and my kids get nothing but straight A's now.

My child had remarkable improvement in Math since she started with Sylvan. The only negative thing that she mentioned, that she doesn't like doing with another student. It makes her uncomfortable having another kid at the same time. But that's more because of her personality than because of the learning part of it.

They focus on ELA and Math with my child and the tutors have been very good. The guy in charge, Jack, is great and he's really nice. Also, my son likes his experience when he goes. I think Sylvan is great and I'm happy that we found it.

It's going well with Sylvan. My son likes it. He started with Sylvan three months ago, and he's learning new things. He's paying attention as well. He let me know yesterday that they did the reading and went over the main subject at school. He told me it was the same thing he learned at Sylvan. I was glad to hear that. Plus, they tested him when he first enrolled at Sylvan, and he got the same test score. I'm interested in the testing scores at the end of the year. When those first test scores hit, I'm gonna know whether it's working. My child is in third grade so he must pass his IREAD test to move forward. I expect some real results because he was not behind at all.

It was very good with Sylvan Learning. My son has benefited from it. He was mostly studying math for the SAT and a little bit of English. He improved his test scores tremendously. They taught him how to approach different things with specific strategies and learn the content better with their help. I would highly recommend them.

Sylvan came recommended by one of our neighbors and although it’s expensive, if you can swing it, it’s worth it. The biggest thing has been my child’s confidence and the ability to do Math.

They're helping my child in Math. I like that he's interested and he's learning. He wants to go. I'm ecstatic. He is catching on and I think he needs that one-on-one. He's good. I can ask him a question and he pops up the answer. I would recommend Sylvan.

I knew about Sylvan through word of mouth and I had my child focus on a little bit of VLA and reading comprehension, but mostly Math. He likes going there and I’ve seen improvements. The communication with them is very good and it’s been a great experience.

The year prior, my son was getting very sick. So, he had lost a lot of time in school. He was falling behind a bit. So, before his after school tutor, I got Sylvan. Since then, he’s recognizing a lot of words, sounding out letters and starting to learn how to read. Sylvan is doing a great job and he loves it.

I used, Sylvan Learning myself when I was a kid. I lived up in New York, and I got pushed on from grade to grade. I couldn't read until the fourth grade. Sylvan turned everything around. My parents put me into it and I ended up scoring a 1580 on my SATs and I now have my law degree and my MBA, so Sylvan was phenomenal. That's why I put my son in it when he started to not do so well in school as well just to get him ahead. I had the whole assessment done, Math two days a week, and he did reading and writing comprehension two days a week. They're one-on-one approach and able to help him. Caitlyn was their director. She was phenomenal. Antoinette was the assistant director and she also taught my son specifically in his reading and writing comprehension.

Sylvan Learning has better quality but they are much more expensive than our previous tutor. My son is doing Math and Reading and it’s going well. He has improved and becoming more confident in both. He enjoys working with certain tutors. Sylvan is usually good about getting him scheduled with those folks and they've been good about communicating and having meetings to show us progress. So it's been a positive experience.

Sylvan is doing a great job. The staff is amazing. Any time I have to call to make changes to the schedule or any accommodations that I need, they are able to help me. The director there is David and he's really good at explaining things. Even if they were charging way more, they deliver the service for whatever it is that they charge. I've seen improvement in my children from the third session and they really enjoy it. They've been there six months and I plan on extending the services. My daughter was my hardest problem and the child I was most concerned about, but they were able to not just teach her, but also boost her confidence to where she would be comfortable with reading out loud.

Sylvan Learning is great. We love it and we love the center that we're at. Their price is fair too. Our daughter has a learning disability. We have her in for writing, and she loves going. We were going three times a week, but now we're going two times a week and she was upset that we had to take a day away. Considering the confidence that she's gotten from practicing and her love of being there, it has made school so much better.

All of the tutors at Sylvan are very good and we've had nothing but positive feedback from our child and it seems to be helping her.

We have been doing Math with Sylvan for about three months and I'm seeing improvements, but it's still gonna take time. It's still work in progress. My kid loves some of the teachers. Some are good with kids. But some are boring. Sometimes if it's a different teacher, she doesn't want to go. She wants to see a specific teacher. Sylvan should keep the good teachers that interact with teens and kids. They should pick the right teachers that love kids, make commitments, and spend time and help the kids to improve. They should also do more promotion. But overall, this branch is amazing. They are so sweet.

I like how personal Sylvan is and I like what they have to offer. They helped my child in reading and math. My daughter likes going there. Whenever she gets done there, she gets in the car and she's excited about what she's learned. She feels safe there too. It's a little bit expensive, though. But she's definitely better since using the service.

We learned about Sylvan through one of our schools with our oldest child. They offered some weekly classes when school was out or during Christmas breaks. We took advantage of those a couple of times with our oldest son, and he really enjoyed going. He was able to do a lot of STEM-like activities when he was there, and he really liked the option to explore and to be creative.

I saw Sylvan in my area and it was a convenient location. They were helping my child who is on the spectrum and their approach was very good. I was very happy that they would take a child on the spectrum and not have a problem with that because that's hard sometimes to have him go. My son has a lot of anxiety, so he doesn't like a lot of crowds. They were good about accommodating a schedule where there were fewer children and very good about his needs. If he'd have to leave a little bit early, they were good about being flexible like that. He went for the summer, from June until the end of August. Right now, he is getting straight As, and he's doing well. But he needed a little bit of help in algebra. He had a teacher that he didn't connect with, and he needed to regain his confidence because he was unable to learn with her teaching style.

I am in a smaller town and Sylvan Learning is one of two learning facilities here. I called them about my child's math issues and the enrollment was easy. They called me back right away, had me come in that day for a consultation, then got us started the next day after that. My son focused on Algebra while he was there and the tutor worked one-on-one with him. She was also in communication with his teacher. And they worked on the assignments that were due the next day and preparing for upcoming tests. He's a 16-year-old boy and he fought me about going to Sylvan. But once he was there, he was absolutely fine. Especially when he started seeing some progress, he was more inclined to fight me a little less.

My child loves Sylvan. They're fantastic. They built confidence and excitement for my child's learning, and it is improving their learning skills with reading and writing.

Sylvan Learning offers a wonderful program, and we definitely needed it. It helped tremendously. It helped catch the kids up, and it kept them learning all summer. The kids are more organized and able to focus a little better.

Sylvan's reps were fantastic and very easy to work with. They were also very good at showing results, which is always nice for a parent to see. They showed me that my kid was struggling in certain areas and how he was progressing. We were doing mostly English and writing with them before and my son's experience with them varied over the years. He had a tutor he really connected with and that was awesome because she really got him and motivated him. But it was hard to have that all the time and she quit. The other times, it was hard work for the kids and it wasn't something that my son would say that he couldn't wait to go.

My daughter has been going to Sylvan since this summer. She was struggling with math and had fallen behind her grade level. Prior to going to Sylvan, math homework was very stressful for her and she needed a lot of help to complete it. She has been going to Sylvan for little over 3 months now and I’ve seen tremendous progress. She has grown to love math! She loves going to Sylvan! She loves going to school and is completing her math homework quickly, on her own, without any help from me. I am extremely happy with how much my daughter has progressed and am very grateful for everyone at Sylvan for making this possible.

I had both of my children go to Sylvan in 2021 for eight months. Then once I saw improvement, we didn't need it. I needed to take my younger child back in May of '23, we started and continued until the center closed in May of ‘24. Even though it was tutoring, she enjoyed going. Interacting with the staff, I had no issues. It was a matter of once the center closed and we were trying to recoup funds, the owner was not responsive to the state. I still have a $7,500 debt for services that aren't provided and that's what I'm not happy about.

My daughter needs help with reading. We've been at Sylvan for a month and a half now. I can see some improvement, but I still expect more. But she likes it. She's hesitant to go to tutoring to start with. But once she gets there, she's fine. She enjoys getting the coins or tokens that they can use to get prizes. Also, everybody there has been friendly and helpful. It is a little costly but I'm hoping it pays off in the long run.

Sylvan was a recommendation from one of my coworkers who had success with some of his kids. It's definitely worth the cost. They're professional. They can also get your kids to do some work, where it's a lot harder for the parents to get them to not study for an hour straight. My son likes Sylvan. He begrudgingly goes because he's got a lot going on but his reading level has improved a lot over the last two years. What I like about Sylvan is they go through certain metrics similar to the school metrics. You need to have ABC and D before you're at first grade level in reading. They sequentially step through those metrics to make sure the kids have the basics before they move on to more advanced parts.

I had both of my kids assessed by Sylvan Learning. It was computerized. I already knew that my kids were struggling in school and they weren't getting the support that they needed in their schools. When they completed the assessment, they were very far behind. It lined up with what I was told from the school. The program is very expensive so I could only enroll one at this point. He has been enrolled since June and he had a drastic change in his level. When he started, he was two grades behind. He started in June. By September, he approached his grade level. He was a half a grade behind instead of two full grades behind.

Everybody at Sylvan Learning is nice and very patient. My kids feel comfortable. It has been a good experience. My kids like it.

The child had a little bit of tutoring at school but we signed her up with Sylvan during the summer so that she would feel more confident when she goes back to school. We haven't finished all our sessions yet but Sylvan is great. Her grades have gone up since we've been there and she's more confident. We saw the improvement when she started but we got her first progress report a couple of weeks ago and she had three A’s and a B. And that B was very close to being an A also. And that is the best report she's had. She loves Sylvan and likes the teachers where we're at. We go to the one in Nashville. She had a very bad experience in school last year because if the kids were talking, her teacher always blamed her. The teacher took their word for it. But her teacher this year is very positive, and with all the stuff that she's doing at Sylvan when they come out of school, they've got a smile on their face instead of looking like they almost wanna cry.

We went with Sylvan for Math and my child's learning experience was great.

I saw an ad for Sylvan and it seemed like they were more hands-on than another tutoring company. They help my children in math and reading and my children enjoy it. I have also seen an improvement in them.

I have a young child that was going to a higher grade and wanted to fill in the gap during the summer while they were out of school. I paid Sylvan a visit and I thought they have a great program, especially the flexibility that they provide because you can determine what you think the emphasis should be. I asked them about the background of the faculty, and I appreciated that they are actual teachers or retired teachers that understand the curriculum requirements as well as the grade level needs and expectations. They're qualified professionals. They're certified in the field and not someone that just has it as a hobby.

I was looking for acceleration for my son and I was really looking at the Russian School of Mathematics. But I saw that Sylvan had a program and they were down the street while the Russian School of Mathematics at the time was all the way in Stokey. So, since Sylvan had a math program that was suitable for my child, I ended up working with them. But prior to Sylvan, I would do things with the Center for Talent Development and the University of Chicago Lab School. I signed him up for six-week sessions in the spring at the Center for Talent Development. On the other hand, the Lab School had full time three to six-week experiences or two-week experiences and I did that with him.

The signup with Sylvan was pretty good. I went online and did their request Saturday morning and before Saturday noon, I had a call back from one of the representatives. It was fairly quick and smooth. My son's learning experience was great. I saw a lot of improvement and he enjoyed the teachers that were helping him. They were very informative and gave great information about where he was, where to get him to, and what it would take to get him where he needed to be. Also, there were times when I had to reschedule due to the time and conflict with my job. I left a voicemail as soon as they opened up and in 20 minutes, I had a phone call back and was rescheduled for a different date and time. And they're willing to work with you even with your payment. So it's a great experience.

Sylvan offers great payment options and I can see that my daughter is improving in the area where she was having issues. She understands more now. My daughter likes Sylvan, but she also doesn't like it because it's more school work for her.

My child is doing Math at Sylvan Learning. The director is very good. The teachers seem very good.

Sylvan Learning is awesome. My kid was going for English tutoring for about four hours a week in the summer, sometimes six, and it definitely helped a lot. He started reading.

My child was close to three-quarters of a school year behind and we started in February of this year with Sylvan. In July, he was right where he was supposed to be going into the current grade level that he's in now. So Sylvan brought him all the way where he needed to be. My interaction with the people has been great and he likes everybody he has worked with. They've been wonderful and if we need them again in the future, we'll be back.

It was really easy to enroll in Sylvan. My son has really progressed quickly. So it's been a benefit to our family. It's been really great. It's a small group-focused approach to learning. My son utilizes them for reading and writing and he has progressed significantly since he started in March. But the app or the online experiences could be a little bit better. I am able to confirm the appointments that we have scheduled with them. But it'd be awesome if we could actually schedule appointments on the app or the website and if we could actually see their updates, like a progress report online. They don't currently have that right now.

I was trying to look for something outside of the classroom and Sylvan is the only outside classroom option in our area other than just a friend or family member. Also, we had a Sylvan here years ago and in the back of my mind that stood out. I contacted them to get an overview of how my daughter was doing outside of the school setting and her experience with them has been excellent. We've been doing it for about six months and she said that she wishes all of her teachers were like Sylvan. She really enjoyed her time there and it was very comprehensive. I was able to get a full picture of what her deficits were and what she was really good at.

Sylvan was very helpful with my children. They were very nice people to work with. I have no complaints about any of it. They are there to really help the kids and they focus on their weakest areas along with helping them with homework.

The tutoring service was expensive, but my son, Owen, needed it for writing and spelling. The tutors have always been good, and I like Doctor Vee. She's been great and she even took it upon herself to figure out more of what's going on with Owen so that now I'm able to get some services for him for the school that I didn't realize he even needed.

The people at Sylvan are friendly and I like that they have a variety of teachers. My kid’s not with the same person all the time. Their focus is on Math and Reading and there has been a slight improvement. But my child has only gone for a few months because we can only go every other week. So, it's not as consistent as some other students.

My grandson was struggling in math. I saw the website of Sylvan. I called Sylvan up and took him there. He took a placement test and he was doing excellent. It's a good program they have. My grandson really enjoyed the program. Matter of fact, he had moved to Atlanta with his mother. He's going to a private school and they say he's excelling in math. He took ELA too.

Sylvan Learning is a great place that a child could get help with their math or reading. My son liked the incentive program too. Sylvan Learning has a token system, and it motivated him. He was doing the reading tutoring, and the tutor did a good job. I normally interacted with the director of Sylvan. She was the one that gave me the feedback on my son's progress.

Sylvan Learning would help you faster and better in the long run. They have been doing more one-on-one. It's better. It's a smaller group. My son likes it. We talked about going back to the tutoring at the school, and he said no.

They make the learning fun. He has been in the Math and Reading program since April of this spring and Sylvan is pricey.

I love that Sylvan is more one-on-one. So, it's like a smaller teacher to student ratio. Also, the kids had the opportunity to review homework or ask questions. I like that there was a curriculum that kept track of their learning and the objectives that were being met. So, I like the data that Sylvan offered. I had two kids with Sylvan. For my older one who was at sixth grade when she attended, she did Math. For my younger one who was in second grade, it was Reading. It helped that they had weekly practice. It was reinforced in the weekly tutoring, and I saw their grades go up. They were able to pass their state exams. So, it was a good additional support for them. I would highly recommend Sylvan. I'm very satisfied with the outcome. My second grader got out of there with a lot more confidence and we noticed a boost in his reading level.

My husband used Sylvan Learning when he was a child and they were also recommended by friends. My kiddo goes there for reading, and he really enjoys all of the tutors that he works with. He has different tutors, and they all work together, which is nice because then that gives him different personalities to work with, different tips and tricks and different perspectives. Sylvan taught the curriculum that my children do at school. Whereas the other tutoring services do their own planning. They went with their own programs that were not with the curriculum. Sylvan helped my child in reading. The spelling words, we didn't get a lot of that. But as far as reading and sounding out, they were very informative about a lot of things about making up sessions. The only reason I stopped is because middle school is a lot. I'm just making sure my child reads every night for at least an hour.

So all the years later, I have my little boy and look where we're at. He just turned seven when he started at Sylvan and at first, he was like, "Oh, no." Sylvan is second to none. They get to the core of everything your child needs. My grandson is somebody that has been through a lot emotionally. He usually doesn't like people and it's very hard for him to trust. But they were able to work with him through all of that and get him on a good track. I'm so happy for him. He's stable now and he does good. We're glad we ran into Sylvan. They need to be on TV with what they do and they need to try to incorporate what they do into the public school system because they know how to reach a child. Even though they have a list of people that they tutor on daily, when they're with your kid, they're with your kid. They make you feel alright about things and that's hard to come by nowadays with everything that goes on in our world. However, it's expensive. I wish he could've stayed, but I can't afford it. If they could cut in prices, it would be a blessing. But they're worth every dime they charge.

We had a friend who had used Sylvan to help their daughter with reading and they enjoyed it. It was easy enrolling with Sylvan. They walked us through everything. They're helpful and knowledgeable. They meet with us every six weeks to go over the stuff that my child's accomplished and what they're gonna work on next. They're going step-by-step through different skills until the skill is mastered then they do the next step. They got my child from having to repeat the fourth grade to ready to go into fifth grade. If you have the finances to do it, then it's definitely 100% worth it.

He feels like he wants to go back not only for reading, but for math as well. I would tell my friends to register their kid at Sylvan and that they would see the difference.

My friend was in Boston and they were using Sylvan’s services for their kids and suggested it to me. In my village, there are four Kumon and Mathnasium but I liked none of those. There is Best Brains too and Sylvan Learning. So, I was looking for it. But somehow, that center was closed as well as the one next to my village. So, I have to go three villages away to get my son into the center. That was an inconvenience, but I wanted to go for Sylvan so I just drove him for two years, for 38 minutes every day, every class.

Going through the school didn’t work out very well for my daughter. Sylvan is way better and she likes it. She understood things when she was frustrated with Math before. And now, she gets it. She comes home and she’s not frustrated. She’s able to do her work. Sylvan has had a very positive impact on my child. She doesn't lock down like she did before. She would shut down and start crying whenever it was time to do her homework but now, she could do it.

It was an easy experience enrolling with Sylvan. We've been a member for a couple of years and my son enjoys the tutoring and the teacher as well. They know what they're doing and are very experienced. They take their time with the child and explore every possible way to help them. My son's been doing better in his subjects.

I plan on going back for my daughter. They had smaller groups at Sylvan. So, it was a lot easier for her to focus. I could tell the difference on her grades and her report cards. We have done private tutoring and Kumon. But Sylvan has been the best so far for us, as far as timing, ease-wise, and performance-wise. Enrolling with them is super easy and they're always very responsive. They're effective and easy to work with. Right now, we're focused on reading, then we're going to do math and test prep here in a little bit. The kids really enjoy being with the tutors, which is helpful.

We did Kumon before and Sylvan is much better and more hands on. It helped my son on the subject matter that we were focusing on. I would recommend Sylvan Learning.

I have two kids and Sylvan is helping one of them with the SAT, while they helped the other one get caught up with his reading. So far, the service has been excellent. My daughter's math tutor who is doing the SAT with her breaks things down where she understands them, and I love that. Going to Sylvan Learning is a little expensive, but it's worth it at the end because you're going to see results.

Sylvan is one of the most amazing program that you can take your kids to. I highly recommend Sylvan. My kids did reading and math. They would tell me about different coins and how they subtract them and how to count. They were so excited about that. They would always ask me stuff. They tested me because of what they were learning.
