This was a great experience if you are willing to work hard you can get through classes very quickly. I needed prerequisites to go from a business degree to an education degree. History classes take US History 1, US Constitution and Western Civilization. These classes were nicely put together with 4 tests and a final. I really like that you can take the first test as many times as you want. This allows you to see the types of questions that will be asked moving forward. Health/Nutrition was put into 17 tests. All of the test were only 10 questions long but made sure you had the information down from the chapter they were representing. I saved a lot of time with these classes being online and also quite a bit of money. I really value and love StraighterLine and the fact that these courses hooked directly to my university, which made getting transcripts over very fast and easy.

I used StraighterLine from Sept to Feb 2019 and I could not have asked for a better experience. I saved TONS of time and money which helped me currently move along faster than other students. I took six classes and passed five of them according to my school's guidelines. Though I took longer than I would if I would have taken them at my school, it was so much cheaper and easier to learn at home. I was told about this website/classes through a friend that recommended it and at first it did not sound legitimate. Little did I know I would learn a lot, in the privacy of my own home. I will forever be grateful for your guys and all your support (answering questions, giving advice, etc). Overall, I become a better writer, more proficient in med term, microbiology, and math. Thank you so much.

My dad works with some nurses at the hospital and they used StraighterLine to start their degree. I was going for the police department and one of the requirements was that we need 60 credits. The online course was manageable for my work schedule, so StraighterLine really worked out. It was also affordable. It’s good that their program is self-paced. So being able to do that and sometimes doing it during work helped out. If I was called out to work while I was right in an exam, I could ask them and they could reset it. StraighterLine helped me further my education and got me to where I needed to be to get into my career.

A few friends took classes at StraighterLine and the way that they described it, they all said it was incredible. I took Stat and another class there and those kinds of classes are better online. Also, the price is incredible and you cannot beat that. I'm a college student and to be able to sit and do the online classes at your own pace is a huge thing. So, getting to use that has been great and I learned a lot better. To be successful, I had to make sure to keep myself accountable instead of having a professor say that you need to have something done on a certain day. I’m on my own for it and you have to be committed to doing something. I had a great experience with StraighterLine and I enjoyed it. I will be doing two more classes again with them soon.

When I went back about halfway through my Bachelor's program at Strayer University, StraighterLine was directly mentioned as a resource to earn some additional credits. Time and speed made me look into online courses. I'm a professional and my workload is pretty heavy. Courses online offer a good alternative to get some things done. I really liked the structure of the site itself. When I first took my first two courses, I did not do as well as I wanted to and tried to rush through them. But the more classes I took, the more I got used to the structure of the program as I started doing better.

I'm very pleased with my interactions with their staff. Every time I needed something, I would email the advisory. On my first course, there was only one professor and it took her a while to get back to me, which was a little disappointing. Other than that, 90% of the interactions were very responsive and positive. The key to succeeding as a StraighterLine student is persistence. I would get into a subject and stick with it. If the student approaches each course like that and doesn’t put it off, the student would do really well.

The final exams are proctored. I've taken the exams six times now, so I'm very used to the ProctorU component. I had an issue on the last course that I took though. I had to use the restroom but the moderator had stepped away from monitoring me for a couple of minutes. I went to the bathroom and I texted that I was gonna use the restroom. They must have come back before I came back and freaked out because they didn’t know where I was. Accordingly, they made me go through the whole vetting process all over again. I had to reshow my desk, my keyboard, the area in front of me, and behind my desk. I lost seven to eight minutes of a one-hour exam, which was critical. I found myself having to rush at the very end and I only scored 60. I've never done that poorly and it could definitely be attributed to that. The moderators should be a little cognizant of sticking on ProctorU when they administer the test.

I went to StraighterLine to advance in my schooling faster, and I knew exactly the specific area of study that I wanted. I spoke to one counselor who helped and made me believe to sign up for this. I really liked the video presentations. It wasn’t just notes. They had a video there, and I always prefer that. Even in school, I always rely on YouTube for any type of videos I can find online rather than just the book. It helps because I can rewind that video as many times as I need, rather than read over and over. It comes easier to me when I see someone explaining rather than reading. However, I had to use Firefox for StraighterLine because it wasn’t working very well with Safari, the main browser I use. Nevertheless, at StraighterLine, I could do my schooling whenever I had a chance rather than having to show up to class all the time.

They have a lot of materials, so there’s a lot of information. Plus, there is no time limit with the lectures and I could do it at my own pace. My counselor told me which classes I could take and which one I didn't need to, so I chose from what she told me that I should take. I called customer service more than once because I have to figure the proctoring and they were very nice. They walked me through it. Just go through the material and try to memorize it as much as you can to be a successful student.

In other places, I have to finish it in a month. It's a set time that they want me to finish. On the other hand, StraighterLine worked at my pace and I really appreciated that.

There was this adviser there named Lily who made me understand the course and what I was gonna get myself into. She went topic by topic and she was explaining to me whenever I had questions about a test. She was very helpful. She also gave me a promotion code which took off about $50 off of my total when I was starting. I finished my course there in two and a half weeks. To be a successful student there, you need good time management. You should have enough time to sit down and go through the chapters and read the notes and then take the quizzes. StraighterLine was good and helpful. I would recommend them.

I had to complete courses that my university mandated through StraighterLine. I took courses on my pace. I just had to manage completing my task on deadlines and keep track. It was easy to finish the course. Their user interface was good. But one thing that I noticed is between the browsers I sometimes used to get different courses, authors and course prices. So there was a lot of confusion amongst us in my class. Some used to get the lower priced ones and some used to get the higher price. I have called the customer care of StraighterLine a couple of times and I used to get answers saying that they're planning to remove one of them but they have not been able to do. Some of them also suggested that I check in the other browsers. Someone has to really work on that.

I was back in school and I asked my advisor if there were other ways that I could take additional classes that wouldn’t take as long to finish. Initially, I didn’t have anything that was drawing me to StraighterLine but I was told that it is a good service. When I asked if other students had used it, I was told, “Yes”. So, I investigated and signed up. Once I got there, I enjoyed the experience. I knew what I needed and I tracked down and made myself do an elaborate spreadsheet of what I needed to take. Then, I went on StraighterLine to see which classes they had that matched, what the classes I needed from Strayer were, and then I contacted Strayer to make sure that those classes would count as an equivalent so that my credit would transfer. Once I confirmed it, I enrolled those classes based on that.

I had questions and when I called, the people from StraighterLine helped me to make sure that I was getting what I needed. I got different people, but there was one rep who stuck with me. I talked to her in December because I'm taking my last classes with Strayer now and I think I'd graduate in March. I was struggling through Physics and with a lab that I had that I was gonna have to take and she helped me. Although, Strayer changed some of their class alignments so that a different class was now eligible for transfer. The rep did some investigation for me to find out on their end whether I could do or couldn’t do it. She went above and beyond. She told me to verify from Strayer although she thought it can be done. She laid out good detailed plans so I knew exactly what I was gonna need to do, what steps to follow and get what I needed.

She let me know that if I needed anything else, I could always call back. But even if I didn’t get her, their people were always there to help me. StraighterLine’s material is straightforward and I did not feel a lot of bluff with it. I'm a substitute teacher right now as I'm finishing through school. I have the advantage of the extra time so, I would have whole days where I'm not working. I could sit and read four or five chapters a day, take a test, and I still have a whole day. And for someone working full-time, there are also books that they offer where definitions can be highlighted and then take notes and there are certain pages that can be bookmarked. Their tools make it a lot easier. It was like I don’t even have to have a pen, paper and notes and it can all be done electronically. I just have to ask what are available.

Moreover, when I was waiting on my daughter to finish up a ballet, I started a test online at home. I was literally able to close out and log back in and finished taking it while I was sitting in the parking lot of the ballet. It was really convenient because I was really ticked that I had to do that. Plus, knowing that the system was really seamless, I can still literally have a whole functional life which was good. And if someone wants to be successful, they should take advantage of all the tools that they get and read all the details, because it was something that I figured out after my second class with them. It's perfect. I like that it is there although it's not like it wasn’t there.

It is great that there is a way that I can expedite my education. At $100 a class per month plus all the fees, I saved probably $13,000 by taking classes through StraighterLine along with taking courses through school. It was four additional quarters of class I would have had to take which was like four grand of fees. It saved me a whole extra year and a half almost of classes that I didn’t have to. I started in January of last year and I took a total of 13 classes with them. I'll be 34 and I have been trying to get my undergrad since I was 18 because it was kinda off and on. But, I am able to finish it and I probably would have given up by now if I knew I still had all these classes to take. It is a saving grace and I could get it done in my own time. StraighterLine is great. They started offering some financial aid which helps those who cannot afford to self-pay. I was fortunate enough though to be able to self-pay.

I was already past the fall or summer session program for regular community college and I needed one more credit. StraighterLine was recommended to me by Western Governors University. I did the Biology or Anatomy and I liked how each section was detailed with extra resources that I could do to understand the concept. There were extra little short presentations on what to read. I also liked how it was not so much in one module and that it was broken down and if I had questions, I could always go back and look at whatever information it has. Moreover, I would either call or chat with the professors if I had any questions aside from what I did not understand.

StraighterLine worked perfectly for me and I was able to do the needed credit online. It helped that I am able to do it at my own pace to understand it and be able to take the testing or the quizzes. I did not have to rush through anything. Plus, the price worth was great. In fact, I showed a friend what I was working on and to see how it was broken down. They seemed to like it so they are gonna try to see if they can do some online classes too. They also liked it because it did not seem hard for them either.

I was at Cleveland Chiropractic College and I needed to finish up Gen Eds. I was doing most of those through their undergraduate program. It’s for eight weeks so I can get through things a little faster, but I wanted to make it faster than that. I was talking to some of the students that had already started the program about other options. Their credit hours there is like $600 a credit hour. I didn’t wanna go over what my cash flow would allow. I took the minimum each trimester, about 14 credit hours at Cleveland. And then one of the other students recommended StraighterLine as a good choice for out of pocket.

I already knew what classes I had to finish up and they were the classes that I would’ve had to take another trimester at Cleveland. All of those classes were gonna fall in the last three months at Cleveland. I went online to StraighterLine to see which one sounded as similar as possible to the ones that I was already signed up for. It’s nice being able to go at your own pace. Some weeks, I’d be a little heavier on the classes. And so, I set StraighterLine aside. And then once I have gotten the grove with it, I started focusing on StraighterLine on the weekends.

On a Saturday for Sociology, I read 10 to 16 chapters as quick as I could and just try to take in as much information as possible. And then I take the test, see how it goes and then move on from there. Some of my friends have done it a little differently. They’ve taken it a little slower, and they have good results that way too. But for me, I tried to designate my weekends to solely StraighterLine to try to put as much time as possible knocking out classes. That worked well for me.

I like how StraighterLine does the course description, and then it has the course objectives. I would just screenshot those and bring it in to the counselor at Cleveland and ask if it will transfer or is it gonna work for the same classes even though it’s a little bit of a different name. The objectives are similar. And they were able to say that these have similar objectives.

Initially, I got too bogged down in extra reading and extra assignments because they provide a lot of extra tools to make sure that you really understand the content. But for me, after I got the hang of it, I don't even know that I needed a lot of those supplemental materials. Almost everything was covered in the chapters. It became quicker for me to read the chapters and see what the objectives were at the end of the chapters and highlight them. And then just take the test. It was nerve-wracking. When you first get in there, you think you need to get 100% on everything. But if you just jump in as soon as you're done reading it and take it, it’s not so scary. And a lot of them even allow you to look up and access the online test. If you forget something, as long as you oriented yourself with the chapter and where everything is, it makes it quick to find stuff.

The first time, I probably spent two weeks on the first core chapters to try to get it for the business class before I took the test. But I didn’t need to. It was too much. You didn’t have to memorize every little detail. Just get in and start taking the test. It’s a good way to knock out classes. The only thing was, I had planned on taking the written comms through StraighterLine. I’m sure of the exact details, but I guess some of the sources that were allowed for that class didn’t match up with the curriculum at Cleveland. They wouldn’t allow some of those sources for their class. And so, they wouldn’t allow that to transfer as credit. But it still worked out because I was able to find other classes instead.

One of my university's directors said that StraighterLine was one way to get one class out of the way without paying as much. I took one history class and the content was straightforward. I'd just read and then take the test. It was a really good course. All the chapters of the reading lessons were great. It wasn't extremely detailed but it wasn't very broad. I haven't taken US History in a while so I learned a lot and I felt like it was just enough. In fact, I wanted to find the chapters and read them again because I found them very useful. I liked that I could get it done at my own pace and that I could make my own deadline so I enjoyed that kind of flexibility, especially because I'm working. I could also make it as expensive or as least expensive as I would want to with the number of months I'd take to get it out of the way.

However, I feel like it's not for everyone. One needs to be really dedicated and have good time management 'cause it's easier to put off. And some people likes to have the people teaching them in front of them. Nevertheless, I wish I knew about StraighterLine a little bit earlier because I would have taken more of my basic classes that way because it's a less expensive and more flexible option. Also, if I took more classes, I probably would have taken advantage of all the options as far as meeting with online teachers.

In StraighterLine, some of the courses were more organized than other courses. The one English course that I took had a lot of assignments and a lot of the assignments were not as easy to find. Most of the courses are developed more like we have reading, videos, test, paper, rulebooks. The one class that I took, I was reading a novel and I was doing a paper on that novel. And then I was also learning how to use the writing manual. But the writing manual was an online writing manual. It was a little bit more difficult to find the information when I get ready to take the quiz. There was just a lot of prompts and a lot of avenues that I was taking instead of just the video and a textbook. There’s no textbook if I was were searching for information in order to be prepared so I wasn't that really knowing whether or not I was prepared.

But StraighterLine is definitely a good way to get the gen eds that I have to get at a much cheaper price, and at the same time too on my own time schedule. Like if I have a busy time schedule, and I need to take a week and I am going on vacation. Also, I don’t really need to have a whole lot of interaction with other students or the professor. I would definitely recommend StraighterLine to a friend.

It was more understandable than the online prerequisite course I was taking and it was easy to navigate and to find what to study. However, they should have more practice exams. To be successful in the program, students must study, be prepared for the exam and be confident. They also really have to do well on the test before the finals, so they would have room to make mistakes. Overall, going through StraighterLine went well for me.

I had prerequisite classes that I put off ‘til the last minute and I needed to get some of those knocked out, so StraighterLine appealed to me. With StraighterLine, I was able to do it from home and get it done quickly, and I did well on my own. The courses were all well done, easy to follow and understand except for the Philosophy class. The other courses were structured very similarly but the Philosophy class was completely different. Its structure was confusing and hard to catch on. It was also unnecessarily hard considering it was an introductory class. I didn’t like that class at all but it was not because of StraighterLine. My financial aid office told me about StraighterLine. It was very affordable and it was a quick way for me to get credits. My experience was good for the most part. It worked out for me. I was able to do half of the classes that I needed to take through them. The admissions team at Ashford University and StraighterLine helped me with the kind of classes I had to take. Then, I reached out to someone at StraighterLine when I could not upload the documents. I could take pictures and upload them but I could not with the other parts. They said that particular document may be outdated. They said they would look into it and try to update it later but I found a way to upload the pictures. Other than that, the experience was good.

However, the last class, Physiology and Anatomy, was just overwhelming and stressful for me. We had lots of challenges in my traditional studies but it was not like that. It was an overwhelming amount of information that I had to deal with solely on my own. Nevertheless, I learned that any general class I take with Ashford University, I have an option to take them with StraighterLine. Indicating that all the topics in the book are gonna be on the test was not effective at all.

I also read online that some of the tests that StraighterLine has are open book. In fact, majority of the classes that they have online have open book tests. We just didn't and I don’t know why. Macroeconomics is a combination of the real world and math. So for people who are not good at math, it would probably be better if that class had an open-book test. A closed-book test doesn't make any sense because there are so many terms in history. It has all that plus math without any help. But aside from that one factor, the class was good.

I needed prerequisites and my academic counselor recommended StraighterLine. Most of everything worked well. It was straightforward and at my own pace, so it was nice. In the courses I took, however, I would select the right answers to several questions that I would ask within the quizzes or in the material itself, then the system would tell me I'm wrong, or it would be red and say it was correct, just like some glitchy stuff. It was fine, but on StraighterLine's end, it doesn’t look good so they could improve on that.

It's nice that you can do the program at your own pace, but the quicker you can get through the material, the better. Somebody asked me what my classes were like and in general, they were like reading a book where you start it and you wanna finish it. If you put a book down for a month, you need to go back a chapter or two. If you take a break for a week, sometimes you forget what you learned. So before you start, get a schedule together and schedule your study time. Also be less flexible with that schedule than you even anticipate. That way, you’d get through everything. Overall, my experience with StraighterLine was good.

The only thing is that if I needed to know something, it took a little time for me to get through on the phone, but online, I would know immediately that they would get in touch with me. Sometimes, the only time when I want to talk to someone, there is not anyone available to actually talk with me, but if I use their online chat and send them an email, I usually get through quicker.

It was nice how they helped me out with everything I needed, going through the program, signing up, getting my eBooks, and going through everything. However, I paused to get other things going and I have other stuff to do that I'm going back to them to do. To be successful as a student at StraighterLine, you have to concentrate. As a student, I would advise someone to go there every day and look up on their literature that they have and all the books that they can afford to let you have, and concentrate on what you want. You will definitely read a lot and you have to do what you have to do.

I was able to get the higher grade and finished my final with a better overall grade. That meant a lot because I was really worried that that was gonna affect me and that they weren't gonna be able to see that it was an issue.

To be successful at StraighterLine, students should read and use the quizzes. I love the slideshows and after the slideshows, we have word cross puzzles. Then we have the flashcards that they already made. I always use those and they definitely helped me whenever I would go to take a test. I would be able to feel comfortable with my terms because I thought that those were the study guide that I wanna do at home but it was already created for me. With StraighterLine, it was a big confidence boost to let me know that getting back into school was not as intimidating as I felt. Everything was great and they were helpful. I had a really good experience overall.

I was looking at Western Governors University, and their counselors recommended StraighterLine for me to complete my prereq. I was looking for a career change, so I checked it. I wanted to look at teaching 'cause I had my undergrad in management and marketing, and I haven't been able to find much success with that so I was looking at doing a master's degree. StraighterLine is a self-paced program. I have kids and I am working also, so it was easy to do it at my own pace and not have to be in a traditional setting.

My counselor at the school that I would be going to told me exactly what classes I needed and they showed me exactly what classes on StraighterLine would fulfill those. I had a couple questions in the beginning and I was able to reach people and they had the answers for me. In comparison to Study.com, Study.com was a headache because I couldn't get a hold of anybody. They only wanted to email me three days later and made it a lot tougher.

In the beginning, I was all over the place and was trying to do multiple different classes. But I find it easier whenever I focus on one class, and just wanted to get that one completed. There was one of the classes I enrolled in and I ended up not completing it. It was massive work and it was just too much. Other than that, I've been recommending StraighterLine to tons of people, including the active-duty sailors that are getting out. I’m the peer counselor in the reserves and I work at a Naval base so I’ve been telling people that it's definitely a great option to go through to get classes done.

I trusted my friend. It was very economical and online was the best way to do it. I needed to develop self-discipline because it was online and I was kinda busy. Without the self-discipline, it wouldn't have been possible, so that was what I needed to succeed.

My experience was very good. The IT courses were great, interactive, and very enjoyable. However, one thing I didn't like was, sometimes, the final exams were not necessarily reflective of the coursework I had with IT. It was very challenging and it was my one gripe with the system. It was very stressful, but I really enjoyed the business class. It was very well done and put together. It was very instructive in general and it understands the legal world and commerce. But I was also looking online to see how I can check out some things and I didn’t like Saylor's whole set-up was because if I take a test and I take the final, why do I have to take another one? I ran across StraighterLine and it seemed to make sense to me, so I went with it. The staff member was very helpful during the enrollment process. At StraighterLine, the first thing you have to do is to read, and you can’t just breeze through everything. You have to read and take the quizzes. You can do some outside study, but the materials are so straightforward and basic that you can read and make it happen.

I’ve been raving about StraighterLine and I've referred a few friends to it. I told them that StraighterLine is a great alternative and I think it's worth its weight in gold. Instead of paying $3,000 or $4,000 per semester at your local college or university, you can use that money to do the whole thing and have your credits transferred. 120 credits, roughly, is about $2,500 at StraighterLine and most of them are at an average of $59 per class which you can take however many you like. Look at it per month, the membership fee per month. I was so dedicated and I did a couple of classes in one day, but you can take classes in a day or a couple of hours, depending on how diligent you are. You can do two days too and in three months you can have your bachelor’s degree.

Before I could start with my Masters at WGU, I had to get some courses and the people there suggested that I get those through StraighterLine. That option was reasonable and it was to be done at my own pace, so I found it appealing. I also really liked how organized StraighterLine was. The steps were very easy to follow and there weren't a whole lot of different links. It was all right there.

They also have an advisor or mentor assigned to each student. Even if it is just a class or two that the student takes, the advisor would be there to check on students to ask them why they have not done any work in two weeks and tell them to try to pick their pace up. I liked having that person keeping me accountable and making me get through quicker. As with any school, the biggest key to be successful is to not get distracted. With my going back to school and having a family life, I had to put my focus on the task at hand rather than on other things that were going on.

One thing, though, the Statistics course was insane for an undergraduate, but I get that they have to do that to weed out those people that really care from those that don't care. It was very strict and they would not even let us have the formulas. The biggest thing about it is you take so much time memorizing formulas, which is not really the point of Statistics but knowing how to apply them. Even if you have the formula, if you don't know how to apply it, then you're not gonna get it right.

There were options for tutors at StraighterLine but these weren't easily accessible and I didn't have the time to research, find, and read the material. They could make the tutoring option more accessible by having a link where students could listen to a conference call in Statistics and have someone there going over the first three modules. I was looking for maybe a better grade average to be able to showcase and it would have helped to have that, instead of hurrying us along. But other than that, everything was fine overall and I would definitely recommend StraighterLine.

I got into Microbiology and compared to other schools, I could ask as many questions to the professor if I didn't know what I was doing. Some professors in other colleges just go ahead and keep talking and don't specify things to students. I can also research if I don't know what I'm doing and they give me a little example on how to go about my experiment.

Although we don't have a face-to-face instructor on StraighterLine, there's a link where I can ask my questions and other students who have taken the course can answer me. When I needed soil for my experiment and I didn't know which one to get, I asked my question and other students came in and specified what it is I needed. The professor can also write me what I need which I think is cool. I can also work at my own pace and time and I don't have to study for a Microbiology test at a college ASAP. Even though there is a membership fee, I still have that time to study for my test and study more if I need to. It's also cheap and affordable.

I was attending the University of Louisiana Monroe in Northeast Louisiana. There were a few classes I needed and the only way to take them was through StraighterLine. I took two foreign languages- Spanish 1 and Spanish 2. I tried to do it at ULM, on campus, but I made a D and failed. I work full-time so I can't go in a classroom anymore. StraighterLine worked with my schedule. It was a lot less stressful than taking the regular class online or on campus. It was also way cheaper and I didn't have to pay out-of-pocket. However, all they have is Spanish 1 and 2, but maybe one day, they can gain more classes, like French.

All the people at StraighterLine that answer the phones are very nice and helpful. I'm fixing to graduate this December and those two classes that I took were the last that I needed. I probably wouldn’t be able to graduate if it wasn’t for StraighterLine. To succeed one has to study at least an hour a day. Read everything and don't rush and take your time there. I'd recommend StraighterLine to other people.

StraighterLine was referred to me by Ashford University, so I could finish my degree. The admissions team knew exactly how to answer my question. It was fast and easy. The emails that I got from time to time containing motivation or inspiration from previous students to keep going helped me. Things like that helped me throughout the quick time because they're self-paced. It helps to have something in the back of your head from people that have already done it. Some of the questions back on the test didn't really coincide with some of the tests. But other than that, it's a great program. I graduated last month and I've told a couple of people about StraighterLine.

I like StraighterLine. It’s convenient. One of my success advisors at Strayer University told me about it. I'm taking up business administration with a minor in project management, and the classes are expensive at Strayer by itself, so they recommended StraighterLine. The price and the easy paced classes appealed to me. Having all the resources available to complete the work helped me, and I like how StraighterLine just put it all in one spot. The schedule of classes are pretty flexible and it's easy to schedule. I didn't like the proctoring type because you have to schedule it and you gotta get the webcam right. But that’s the standard, so it's okay. If you don't have the financial aids to complete it all at Strayer, then you should try to go to StraighterLine. It's quick, accessible, and affordable.

I'm currently enrolled in school at my program, and I just needed to take a few Gen Ed classes. My school director referred me to StraighterLine. The timing they have there was great for me. I loved that I was able to do the program on my own time and at my own pace. I also like the fact that the program came with a book and I didn't have to purchase it. The price was very good, and the study guide was very helpful. It helped me to pass my classes, which was good.

The staff was amazing. Every time I would call and I have a question, everybody would be willing to help, and they were very helpful. All my questions would be answered, and they were able to do everything I needed. The fact that I was able to rely on the help they had on there helped me to become a successful student. Whenever I would have a question, or sometimes I don't understand something, I was always able to speak with someone online and they would help me very quickly. They made it very easy for me, which was stress-free and gave me the options to just go ahead and pass my classes very easily with my tests and quizzes.

I wish that StraighterLine had more classes because I needed about two more classes that I couldn't take there due to the fact that they did not offer it. If they could consider at least maybe add classes on there, then it would be easier for us to just take it in just one place instead of having to go through other sites and take classes. Other than that, I was very satisfied with StraighterLine and I have recommended them.

I applied to Western Governor’s University and they recommended that I take a couple of courses at StraighterLine. What appealed to me about them was the cost factor as it was super affordable. Another factor was that you could kind of go at your own pace. There was also a scholarship at my school if I took four classes and pass them at StraighterLine. So, I signed up with them. I was able to get a course requirement for the degree that I’m going to complete from WGU and then I got the transfer equivalencies from StraighterLine. I picked four basic classes to take that are pre-requisite courses.

At StraighterLine, a lot of the basic exams, apart from the final exam, were open book. So, I would look up the course name and then look up the Quizlets to see if there would be any basic phrases that were recommended to study. Then, I would do some flashcards really quick. After I did the flashcards that I found were useful, I would go into exam cold and answer what I could. I would also use the book and just kind of use the search function in the textbooks to find the answers that I couldn’t find. And then for the answers that even with the book reading I'd still be confused about, I would use an educated guess based off what I thought the correct answer would be. For the most part, the study material reflected the tests. And although the exams were pretty straightforward, there were some questions which the wording could’ve been slightly less confusing because I thought two answers would be applicable for them.

On the other hand, I had a proctor there who was flexible. I had an issue where I scheduled an exam and then opened up the wrong exam on my end. The proctor figured it out and switched things around on his end, so I was able to take the exam and there was no issue. That was nice and cool. I was also able to complete classes up to the final exam and some of them within a week which was nice. So, if you like to get college courses at a fraction of the cost just like a community college or that four-year degree from a normal college, you can do it with StraighterLine. You could just pay the monthly fee and never finish too.

One of my counselors at WGU suggested StraighterLine if I wanted to get done with a class within a certain timeframe. I looked into it and saw "end of enrollment" in those classes. I wanted Statistics 2, but there was an issue with if it was gonna transfer over. He was saying it was, but then he looked into it and found out that it wouldn't. The cost was appealing and way cheaper than others.

What I did not like was the proctor when it was time to take the proctor, it was really confusing. My proctor exam was supposed to start at 3:00, it didn't start till almost 4:00 because it was so much that I had to do, I had to practically go around the whole area. If they could let people know what to expect, it would probably be better. It's like you have so much anxiety to take the test and then you're having issues to even log onto to take the test. Other than that, the people there are very polite and kind. I knew what classes I needed to take and what my timeframe was. It was an excellent experience.

Some people have taken StraighterLine, and they enjoyed it, so I went along with that. It was very easy to sign up for classes and it was so convenient. However, for the chemistry lab, the program that they use for evaluating the pictures can be wonky sometimes. So, if they would explain a little bit of some of the errors that people had for troubleshooting with that program, that would be nice, because I had some issues with that. Still, it was a good place to go. It was all online and you can pace yourself. If you wanna finish it in a month, don’t wait until three weeks or one week left. You have to try and do a little bit every day.

I had a really busy schedule and studying through StraighterLine was easy for me to fit into my summer schedule. It was all online and I didn't have to attend lectures. It was all straightforward material and what I needed was right there and even though I was assigned an instructor, I never went to them asking for help. But there are certain things I would've remembered if I heard it from another individual but I have been taking courses since I've been in school and it has all been on me to prepare for the exam. Also, the courses are done so much faster and even though it's self-paced, I take it all as fast as I could.

I would recommend going to an actual lecture course if one cared more about education and that person went to school strictly for an education and not a diploma. But if one is like every other student who wants the diploma and gets into the field to work, StraighterLine is the way to go. It's more inexpensive and an easier approach.

But StraighterLine was overall cheaper and they are credited for a lot of different schools so I felt comfortable enough taking the courses online there. I liked that the courses were at my own pace because I was so busy during the summer. To have to come to the computer at a specific time every day was like going to class. I might as well go to class. But if it’s on my own time, then I can go at my own pace.

A young lady walked me through step-by-step, made sure it was credited with my university, make sure my credits would be able to transfer and told me what I would need to do after. She gave me a walk down of what the process would be before and after I completed the course. The program was a lot better than being in a classroom. The material was easy. You could pause and take notes if you find yourself being distracted reading. With my course that I took, it had someone that was reading over the text, and then someone that gave their own definition of the text as well so you got the best of both worlds. It was good that I finished within a month.

The only difficulty I had was with ProctorU. Unfortunately, for me to take the course online, it had to be done with ProctorU. But I already recommended a lot of my friends who take a lot of the courses at StraighterLine. I told them it’s way better than doing it online at a university. I go to Strayer University and StraighterLine is affiliated with them. So, I had to do some outside courses. Strayer gave me a list of classes that I need to choose from and I just went on there and did it. I liked that I am able to do it at my own pace. The only complaint that I had was I took a psychology class and I felt like the material wasn't based on the final and I failed. I went in with a high score of 98% and I completely bombed it. Now, I don't have a choice but to retake it. All the other classes were good but that one. But despite that, I would definitely recommend it.

I'm a student at Vassar and I have to take a couple more classes at StraighterLine. The enrollment process at StraighterLine was simple. When I started, I pretty much had all of my credits except for my electives. I liked that studying there was a lot less expensive than a regular class and I could do it at my own pace. But you gotta read the textbooks and watch the slides, and it can't just be one or the other. One thing, though, is that after you take the test and the quizzes, you are told which ones you got wrong but you are not given the right answers. I would have liked to have been able to go back through my tests and quizzes to reread the questions and see what I got wrong and what the correct answers should have been, so I could learn better that way. But other than that, the one class I did at StraighterLine was good, beneficial and had a lot of information, so I was impressed.

I wanted to do the nursing pre-licensure and as I was going through their prerequisites, I clicked on the different programs and I saw StraighterLine on those prerequisites. StraighterLine is one of the more flexible options and more cost-effective. Every single one of the staff members was meaningful in my journey and they were excellent. I used my instructor for many courses that I took with StraighterLine and I had a positive experience. There was only one course I didn’t take with StraighterLine, but StraighterLine was my very first choice. Their customer service reps and student advisers were all on point and were all very cooperative.

When I first started with the first program I did with StraighterLine and I got a C on the first course, I called and spoke with them. The rep went through how they have their syllabus set up and the different things they would do to ensure that a student comes out with the best possible education. I said that I was gonna go again and she gave me a free pass where I could go back and retake that course, and I took it a little more seriously. For me, Anatomy and part of Physiology were really challenging, as well as Microbiology.

If you want to get something out of the program, then you have a choice. If you want it just fast and not really come out with too much content, then you should try somebody else. But content-wise, StraighterLine was on board. When I took the time to go in and do the work, I was going through the books. I got what I felt I needed to get out of the program so although it was challenging and it was in some instances a lot of information to retain, once I put the work into it, I came out the better for it.

Having gone through it, I am glad that they challenged me and my capability to really do it because I did not have a science background whatsoever. My background was in public service and public administration, so to come from a public administration background and try to do the science program, things that I have never done before, and still come out with a B, it speaks how good StraighterLine is. I still have two more courses to go with them and the only issue is the labs. It is so expensive to get the lab and I need the lab so it's holding back my thing after all the work I have done so far. I'm waiting until I get the lab kits and to reestablish my membership.

The content is overwhelming but it is really rewarding once you put the effort into it. Content should not be cheated. If you’re really serious about what you want to do and you want to go into your program without at least 75% of the knowledge of what your program will be about, especially for the pre-licensure, I definitely recommend StraighterLine. And for anybody going into any nursing program, I recommend StraighterLine because when they start the program, that’s when they would really see the benefits of putting in all that extra work and it’s gonna pay off.

The content was amazing. It was on point and it really spoke to the whole program or the whole course. There was no part of it that I had left out. Clearly, who designed the syllabus and the information to go into it, they got some really good staff on that and I would really like to acknowledge the people who put together the syllabus. They have some really good trainers there and they really put work into it. StraighterLine has changed my thinking regarding online training and online programs.

I was disappointed with their instructors a bit. I tried to get feedback but they would only give me feedback when they gave me zeroes. Not that I didn’t do it my full potential, they just didn’t like what I turned in even though they should have possibly given me just a lower grade. They give 100 or nothing. I would only get feedback as to what they expected on an assignment and then once I turn it in, I never knew how I did because they would never respond to that. They just responded with a grade. Nevertheless, I would recommend StraighterLine as a single degree to the University of Phoenix.

A friend of mine in the Marine Corps who went to nursing school needed to take a course. We’ve been out of school for 10 years so he and I both were gonna have to take a Finite Math course. His school recommended StraighterLine to him and then I asked him if he had to do anything. He said he went to StraighterLine but I have to make sure that my college will accept it. I did this a month ago and I ended up passing the class and not having to take a Finite Math class again. It turned out that it was one of my required degree classes. To be successful, I watched each of the modules. I tried to do the whole “Oh, I know this,” and then take the test but that was wrong. I got the credit for College Algebra so it cut off literally two semesters at school. I'm about to go back to do two more classes just to get them knocked out of the way. If I can keep knocking semesters by doing that and saving money, I will do it.

I wish StraighterLine would get more partner colleges because I had to jump through hoops when I transferred my credit. I'm going to a community college right now and they did not accept the credit from StraighterLine but they accepted my Ace transcript. So, I had the StraighterLine ones in the transcript over then I had to wait for it to get there and process it. I found out that they weren’t gonna take that, so I was still gonna have to do that. However, they said that they could take an Ace transcript.

I called Tenesia, a staff member and told her I needed her to verify it through the Ace transcript by phone as soon as possible. She did it right then and got me that. The Ace transcript was delivered immediately and I got to pick my classes. It was a week later, but still better late than never. Tenesia was very helpful and happy. She gave me a couple of opportunities to retake a test when it was allowed to be done to get a higher score. She was always a pleasure to work with and talk to. I told everybody I know about StraighterLine. Literally, I was looking at four years of school because of those two classes. Now I'm looking at less than 15 months.

My experience with this company has been very horrible due to the fact that you cannot even request a transcript straight from there to another school without it going through another reliable evaluating company. And they are using corrupted and inexperience proctoring company who is not trustworthy and gives wrong information which at the end affects the student tremendously.

I was clearly told by my Proctor that I could mumble my questions to myself as I'm taking the examination and at the end lied that he did not say that and eventually said the truth that yes he allowed me and proctor send email to StraighterLine and still holding that against me to retake the examination. This is all because another company have to reevaluate my transcript before they send it to my school. I don't think this is a fair situation for any student to go through. Will definitely not recommend this institution to any student as it is very corrupted with inexperienced workers who doesn't know what they are doing. Every time I called, they were there to help me. Even when I was a little frustrated, they gave me resources to help me even further, so it really was a pleasant experience. I called one day and I was frustrated. I said I was having trouble with my Spanish and a staff member gave me a website to look at and was very kind in telling me not to use it all the time. She told me to just use it when I need it. It helped to call and know that I have somebody to help me when I needed it. For students looking at StraighterLine's program, I would suggest pushing the administration at the university. If they say no, just push them and go higher. StraighterLine was so great.

StraighterLine has a program where I could work on my own. They didn't have where you had to do classwork, it was all testing. So, I could do more of the work on my own quickly and able to get through it. The classes were straightforward because they didn't have to do a lot of extra work like I have to at Liberty. And it helped me get through two classes in four weeks, which was awesome. So, I literally did Accounting 1 and Accounting 2 together, which everybody told me I would do and I did, and I got past both of them and they transferred right next to Liberty. So, it made me graduate on time and I'm graduating in May which is a little early, so it helped a lot.

Their staff member was helpful. She was quick to make sure I got transferred. However, I had a lot of problems getting the Accounting 2 class transferred over for some reason. I needed it in before the end of summer and they took a bit longer. They got it in but it took me a lot of calling to say, "Hey, we gotta get this in." But that was the only thing that I did not like.

In StraighterLine, you just have to make sure you put the time in studying and doing the work, but you have that time set aside for the test when you are doing the monitor test because you can't really stop. I have stopped once because my daughter's crying. Thankfully, I had a nice person on there who understood and just let me go on. They were really nice about that sort of thing but make sure you're upfront. I told them upfront, "Can I take the test at nighttime, in the middle of the night because that's when I do my studying?" And they said, "Yeah, we can definitely schedule those, and we have somebody in there 24/7 so you could do the test." I was able to do my test at midnight, so that was very helpful because my children's sleeping. So, that was a huge incentive.

However, they need to check some of the tests on Accounting 2 because some of the wording was wrong. I suggest they have somebody proofread the tests. Nevertheless, I would tell others that it's a good school if you're okay with just taking tests and studying for them. It's quick, it's easy and you can get through classes fast.

I wanted to graduate earlier and get my elective taken care of through StraighterLine. I heard that I could do the work there at my own pace, and the program would be quicker and cheaper so I went there. To be successful there, you have to be motivated, be able to manage your time and get stuff done without getting distracted. If I had the money right now, I would go take a couple more classes to finish up my electives. I'd tell others that they should definitely try StraighterLine out.

I was looking to better educate myself for more opportunities and StraighterLine was recommended to me. I didn’t have a specific area of study, but I knew that I needed to work on Math and English. I did everything online and didn’t utilize any staff members except for grading rough drafts. But everybody at StraighterLine was great. They helped as far as the grading process and corrections. AIso, I love all the feedback on all the essays. I should've done more studying, more following up and should have been more thorough with my lessons. It was the first time I've been back to any type of schooling in 20 years. I was trying to be self-taught and be my own person pushing myself. I needed to be more focused on learning what I needed to learn. But other than that, the experience itself was awesome and I learned a lot. In the future, I might need to use StraighterLine again or I might just do it anyway.

I’ve been asked to do a three-credit English Composition course. I was looking online for any credits and figured out that a course in StraighterLine would match in my requirement so I went ahead and reached out to them. I wanted to do it much ahead of time but I was balancing out my graduate studies and the semester was on so I took a little bit of time than usual and tried to go with each topic during the summer break or during winter break. However, the way the assignments are graded can be very confusing for students and I wish there is a way I can filter that out because that’s what I exactly did.

I had written something completely original but for some reasons, it was showing that there was a lot of similarity so I had to redo it but there was no explanation in terms of what the similarity was and from where I'm getting the similarity, like maybe if it’s beyond the threshold that’s when you agree to redo that again. There were certain items which we obviously will find in the internet but I have to use it in my write up too so that got me confused twice but with three assignments. I read that again because I don't want a zero especially when I put all that effort so I went ahead and called the counselor.

I had the counselor named Sierra who was always available but all she could help me with was to erase the whole thing so that I could submit a new draft. I did that thrice and she helped me with that. She uploaded that and made sure I was good with it. It became a little time consuming for me but I managed to finish. Other than that, I did fairly well with the other assignments.

Unfortunately, Hunter College did not accept any credit for an English Composition course from StraighterLine because they aren't accredited so everything was gone to waste. I had the impression that any course I do on English Composition would be acceptable so I submitted my transcript, but I've been asked to do the course again from an accredited institution and that is what now I have to figure out. Nonetheless, I was satisfied with my experience with StraighterLine and I recommend it to somebody who is looking for something like this.

    Response from StraighterLine

    Srimayee,

This is a terrible outcome! We always advise students to contact their target institution prior to enrolling in a StraighterLine course to prevent any issues with credit transfer. We do guarantee transfer to over 100 institutions. Unfortunately, this is a widespread issue with transfer credits in the higher education landscape (and something we're fighting to improve daily).

I hope that while the credits don't transfer you find the exercise and skills directly applicable to your future studies, I imagine the next attempt at ENG101 will be that much easier.

Very best and thanks for sharing your experience, calling out this difficult issue in transfer credit that StraighterLine is actively addressing.

StraighterLine was a good way for me to reduce my workload during class. I normally take five classes, so I could take four instead of five and that made it a lot easier. I also like the different lessons they have. They have little games that help you remember what you’re learning. You also get to go at your own pace and you’re not rushed by a professor. If I wanna take six months to finish a course, I can. I emailed the customer support for something and they were really helpful because I was in the hospital for a week and I couldn’t access my StraighterLine. They told me what my next steps were and what to do. I also like the proctoring. You can’t cheat your way through it and you have to make sure you really know it. They really took the time to make sure that the person owns a license.

StraighterLine is a great way to finish your courses a little faster, as far as the courses that are for our college at the beginning of our degree program. If you live in New York, it's expensive and graduating fast is really important. Our college is an accelerated college, so being able to graduate even faster makes it a lot more helpful. I've already told all my friends about them.

The course was overall beneficial. It was a good refresher after taking a statistics course a year ago. It was slightly difficult learning online, but there were many problem questions and tutors available. The practice test to help prepare for the final exam was not beneficial with only eight questions; and the questions stayed the same when retaking the practice test.

I had failed a class in college so I wanted to make it up and I felt like StraighterLine was the best way to make it up. It was hard to understand my teachers so I wanted to self-teach myself. All the subjects were open and ready to go. I really liked that. You didn't have to complete one step in order to go on to the next chapter. I could literally do the classes any time I wanted to.

The only thing I didn’t like was the identity part for the final test. I understand that nobody wants cheaters but I was asked to show my surroundings and my keyboard. And if I didn't have my ID, I couldn't take the final test. The connection also took forever. I waited two hours for the connection to finally pull through and after that, I still wasn’t done proving myself of like showing my room. It was a really long process just for me to take my test. It didn’t have to be that extreme and it could have been a shorter process.

In going through StraighterLine, I realized that I can really self-teach myself anything if I put my mind to it. Even if I do have a class and I go to it but I'm not understanding the teacher, I can really just go through the book and the lessons and learn it by myself like I did with StraighterLine and I would get a good grade. I don’t always need a teacher.

My sister recommended StraighterLine and I like the way the classes are. I can log in anytime and every time I've needed help, they were taken care of when I called in. They have a super nice lady who really helped me especially during my pre-calculus class. I did a lot of classes towards my degree and the key is studying and believing in what you're doing because if you're not sure, you can never get it. I would have never graduated this year. Thanks to StraighterLine. Overall, it was an excellent experience with them.

The company I work for offered a discount at one point and I went with StraighterLine for the ease of use. Looking across how much time it takes to go through more of a traditional avenue versus something that is non-traditional and to be able to get some quick credits, the most beneficial thing as a potential student was speed. Everything online was very easy to use and straightforward as far as what transfers to where.

My adviser at the school I'm currently at told me about StraighterLine. It was one of those easy programs where you are able to do all on your own and you get it done in the time that you want to. I like that the best. I could move at my own pace and if I wanted to do it all in one day or in weeks, I could. I had already known from my adviser the communication class I needed to take for my degree. So, I took that and it was all online. It was a public speaking class and we had to do a speech as quiz. I got a feedback from the person who would watch me speak, so it was interactive. I would recommend StraighterLine. It's very self-explanatory and so easy to follow.
