The first appointment I had with Aspen Dental was unfortunate. I spent 30-min driving there only to be told that ‘their system is down’ And I’d have to be rescheduled. They claimed it was a company wide issue. For a nationwide company to go ‘down’ with no ability to warn customers who are already scheduled is extremely disrespectful to people’s time. In addition to that, this clearly highlights the fact that the company clearly lacks important business continuity workarounds to at the very least call the patient before their appt OR create a way to see patients and charge them after the fact. Extremely dissatisfied to say the least especially since this company is a national chain and should have far better systems in place to prevent this from happening.

I wish I had the option to give them zero stars but 1 is as low as it goes so that's what they will get. I decided to try the free insurance that work started offering this year and boy, do you get what you pay for (nothing!). Prior to coming here I had been to 2 of the best dental offices in the area. Both has maintained my teeth with the best care available and I took care of every issue they found, so my mouth was in really good shape when I went there. This is one of the reasons I decided to try this new insurance, I figured my teeth were in such good shape that they really could not mess them up that bad in just one year, and if I didn't like them, me and my son would go back with the good insurance and dentists next year.

At my first visit, they had some hygienist straight out of school (hopefully, this is questionable even) measure my gums, which I have had done yearly for decades now. She skips quite a few thinking I'm not paying attention or that I don't know what she is doing or whatever and just makes up some numbers and calls them out to the other girl writing them down. Who, by the way, struggled to complete the xrays. It took her about 20 tries to get them all where normally I get about 4-6 done. After this is done she tells me that I have bone loss based on my xrays and my teeth are likely to start falling out soon if I don't get their meds and have a deep cleaning done.

OK I listen to this and go to see what their pricing is with the insurance. They quote me $520 and I tell them that is high and I want to get a second opinion before proceeding and I would just like to schedule my regular 6 month cleaning instead. They refused to do any other services to my teeth until I paid and completed this unnecessary so-called deep cleaning that I need. I am wondering if I were to chip a tooth or get a cavity or other pain at this point if they would even help me or if they would refuse until I completed their unnecessary service.

I called my last dentist and plan to go back to them soon for my cleaning and just pay without insurance until I can change an open enrollment. Sounds like this is the only way I am going to get my teeth cleaned this year. Oh well, live and learn I guess. But I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. They are in the sales business and thought they had a sucker walk in the door I guess. Stay far away! There are plenty of good dentists in our area, no need to visit these fear mongers.

Dundalk Aspen is the most unprofessional, disorganized, careless dental facility I have EVER dealt with. They mistreat patients, disrespect them, NEGLECT THEM- My husband was left with an impression tray in his mouth for 45 MINUTES, screaming for help and was told by his tech "sorry, I got caught up in something else". That same tech is STILL employed there even though aspen is WELL aware of this issue happening.

He told them last visit he didn't want that tech to touch his mouth ever again and the front desk woman responded "well if you want to be seen today, that's who is on the schedule". No offers to reschedule service when the tech was not there. Go figure, my husband gave the tech another chance and he completely destroyed his bottom denture to the point where it is unwearable now. I HATE ASPEN DENTAL!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY! INVEST IN A SMALL PRACTICE THAT WILL TREAT YOU RIGHT!

I went in for a cleaning at the Aspen Dental clinic in Fargo ND. After over an hour of x-rays and sitting and waiting. They took me into the business office and a woman told me If I didn't get this procedure done all my teeth would fall out. (It's a scare tactic that they use a lot at the Fargo Aspen dental.) I had been going to the Minnesota dental school in Minneapolis but thought I'd make a local appointment for a simple cleaning. They wouldn't give me a cleaning and tried to charge me 100$ for an electric toothbrush when I already had one at home. They had some 22 yr. old girl recede my gums with a dental tool and when I walked out I had exposed roots. No dentist I'd been to ever told me I'd had any problems with my gums, I have proof of that. My teeth shifted, chipped because my bite didn't line up when she was done, She put all her weight on my front tooth. Never once did she tell me anything about this procedure.

I tried getting my money back and they continued to babble like I didn't have a clue what I was talking about... I emailed the corporate office. She seemed like they'd give me a refund but told me a woman from the Aspen dental office in Hawaii would be getting a hold of me, mind you, this happened in North Dakota. The woman from Hawaii called, answered and she still hasn't called me back like she said she would. I went back in to the Aspen Dental in ND. The dentist looked down at the ground the whole time I'm telling her about giving me a procedure I didn't need. I got copies of my x-rays and left. Aspen Dental is the McDonald's of dentistry. If workers don't make a certain amount of sales they get fired. That's why they push the deep cleanings on absolutely everyone that walks in their door.

Called about getting a broken partial replaced immediately. Asked for my X-rays I had done 6 months ago. They got them but said they could not read them so they did another. Guaranteed me a new partial the day of my appointment. Instead they wanted to do a deep cleaning, a extraction which I was ok with but then could not get me a partial for a couple of weeks. I walked out defeated and upset after they charged me the 150$ for the unnecessary x rays! They only want your money for unnecessary procedures for dentists that can’t work elsewhere. I wouldn’t even give them a 1 star but it didn’t give me a choice.

I declined went back to my regular dentist the following week who told me I didn't need a deep cleaning and that my filling had fallen out and only needed to be replaced.

The doctor at Aspen Dental had an entire mouth x-ray and couldn't see that I had lost a filling and recommended an extraction of a perfectly healthy tooth. Either he is incompetent or a thief. I made appointment for cleaning. Was told generally $85-100 a cleaning after initial "free consult". I go to dentist every 6 mo and have beautiful teeth. Floss daily, use water pic, electric toothbrush etc. They took many xrays. Hygienist says, "oh, your gums are bleeding, you'll need deep cleaning". Dentist comes in and spent 1 min in room before confirming what hygienist said. I replied, "no, I'm on a blood thinner, my blood level is too high and we are adjusting dose, my gums generally don't bleed." He thought for a second and said, "no, you need deep cleaning".

A nice woman came and took me to her office. Printed me slip showing deep cleaning procedure would cost $574.00. Wow, I said I can't afford that. So, she removed "cancer check" for $25 (takes 1 min every other dentist I've gone to up north, and included in visit), removed fluoride- I'm an adult, don't need fluoride. After a few min we got bill pared to ONLY $336. I said I had to check with my wife, but can I just pay for x-rays as I think I won't be coming back and I don't want unnecessary radiation for additional x-rays at new place. I was told x-rays are free and I can get sent anywhere.

I made appointment elsewhere and after 2 months and at least 6 follow up calls, my new dentist received only paper copies of x-rays from Aspen and were unable to open scanned copies due to password protection. Aspen tried resending 3 times, said they would sent to me- which they never did. Needless to say, I still haven't gotten x-rays sent, which is standard procedure for aspen per my new dentist. Anyway, at new dentist I had routine cleaning, told gums and teeth were excellent and was charged $125. What a scam Aspen Dental is. BEWARE!!

Went to Aspen Dental in Millington, TN. I had recently moved to the area from another state and needed a dentist to get a check up and a cleaning since it had been a couple of years since I'd had my last cleaning. I checked with several dentists in my area to make an appt and they were all booked out at least a few months...except Aspen Dental, so of course I went there. I arrived and had X-rays taken immediately... The girl doing them couldn't get the machine to work right so after 15 or 20 minutes she had a coworker help her and then finally the x-rays were done. Then I go to another room and the hygienist goes over my x-rays with me and asks me if my old dentist mentioned anything about gum disease to me. I told her he hadn't. She went on to say I have severe gum disease and that it's incurable but we can treat it with a deep cleaning and flushing my gums with antibiotics. Wow. Okay.

Then the dentist came in and told me all sorts of work I need done and was laughing at the work I had done by my old dentist.. Laughing at the techniques the old Dr used, etc. Then I was sent to another waiting room where I figured I was waiting for my cleaning. I waited for about 20 minutes then the receptionist came in and told me they were waiting on an authorization fax from my insurance but for some reason their fax machine wasn't working. She said they were restarting the fax machine and then going to resend the request but in the meantime she gave me my treatment plan to look at. I was floored. The price for that deep cleaning was well over $700 and the work I needed done was several thousand dollars.

I waited about 15 minutes longer, then the receptionist came back and told me the fax machine still wasn't working, so I could go home and they'd call me. I immediately got home and looked up reviews for Aspen Dental and saw that I wasn't the only person in the nation that was given a ridiculously priced treatment plan as well as told they need a super expensive deep cleaning. Needless to say I decided then I wouldn't be going back to Aspen. They never did call me to set up that cleaning appt and I never did call them.

I made an appt with another dentist and waited a few months for that appointment. I got my teeth cleaned and an exam at that appointment and was told I do not have gum disease and didn't need that deep cleaning with the antibiotics to help treat that incurable disease. All I need is one filling which believe it or not, Aspen didn't find I needed even 1 filling just a few months before. My out of pocket expense with the new dentist is $83.40 but had a I went with Aspen, I'd still be on the hook for a few thousand dollars since my insurance has a $2000 yearly cap. Steer clear of Aspen Dental no matter what!

I went to Aspen Dental in Elizabeth City, NC last fall and initially it was a good experience other than sitting in a dental chair for 2 hours. I was given a VERY large list of things that needed to be done and was advised as to the total cost (more than a new car). I completed a credit application with one of their partners who approved it and we begin the first procedure which was pulling a few teeth and having a partial plate made. This was done and the temporary partial was given to me and I was to return in about 6 months to have the permanent one (which was paid for mind you with interest) made. I had tried to make an appointment for a couple of fillings and never had my call returned.

Flash forward to the end of January 2023--my partial had a piece break off while biting into a carrot and I called the office to schedule the appointment for the permanent partial to be completed, I was informed by the clerk who answered the phone that I was REQUIRED to have a deep cleaning prior to this being done--this was the first I had heard of this but wanted a cleaning anyway..I asked the cost of the deep cleaning and was told it would be almost $2000 (!) I informed her that this was not even remotely feasible and I did not understand WHY this was supposedly required and she in turn told me that she would check with the dentist and call me back. This did NOT happen--the next contact I had was a telephone call from the office who left me a message to call them back, this I did less than 10 minutes after the message was left and it went to voicemail.

I left THEM a message and, 2 weeks later, finally received an EMAIL saying they had been playing phone tag with me and to call them which I did only to get voicemail yet again. This was the first contact from them in WEEKS no phone calls, messages etc. They did not return my call again. I responded to their email a week later and still no reply. I have just today sent another message requesting 50% of what I have paid refunded as they obviously will not be finishing the job (because of the excessive interest I have had to pay they actually should up the amount back to $2000). I have contacted the BBB and am also forwarding the information to the NC Dental Board. This is meant as a "BUYER BEWARE". I can see why there have been so many lawsuits filed against them.

Meanwhile, hinted that she happened to have a spot open if I want to move forward to extract it. I had doubt and didn't go forward immediately. The second day, I consulted my home dentist and went to a different dentist to check. The doctor just tapped the 14th and 15th tooth, looked at x-ray and ensured me 14th was the problem. I could feel the difference too. After I extracted 14th, everything is back to the normal. I was still wondering how Doctor Hasan was so sure the 15th had problem, even I told her I feel 14th was pain. I almost lost my good tooth and left the bad there, what a bad experience.

I asked if they'd be able to fix my missing filling today and they said they weren't sure - only to find out from the regional manager that that Dr is referring out all fillings. When I asked a couple questions about the paying up front they asked me to leave. Will not be back.

Today, I realize there is no compassion or respect towards the patient care. Their interest is to target volume, focusing on the money instead of quality. Managers getting involved in clinical decisions (???). The last few weeks I noticed a huge overturn of the staff, including my Dentist, without giving me a notice that he is no longer in the Office and I will be taken care of who know who!!

I was drawn to Aspen because of the free X-rays and Dr.’s exam with a cleaning scheduled for the same day. I have never had serious problems with my guns. Yet even before the Dr's evaluation, I was hearing that I had pre-periodontal disease and would require a deep cleaning. Then came a very painful and the worst dental experience of my life during the periodontal probe. The probe was forced into the gum line (pockets) with readings of 7, 7, 7... I told the tech/dr. that I normally had readings of 2, 2, and 3 with a 4 or two. But, they can get whatever number they want if they force the probe in deep enough and was given some rhetoric about how the bone will stop the probe. Then came the surprise of a quote for~$2100 deep cleaning (I was told it would be very painful), $135 new toothbrush, $272 mouthguard. I opted not to have the procedure and to do some additional research.

I spoke with a friend that had experience with Aspen and he said staff is incentivized to sell costly solutions to non-problems. So, one day after my Aspen Dental experience, went in to my usual dentist for a cleaning and I did not mention that I had just had an exam. The hygienist observed cuts on my gums and said my gums looked good otherwise (albeit there was a bit of inflammation in one area due to plaque buildup). Then came the probe (with numbers coming in 2-4 and No 7's). I explained my experience with Aspen and the hygienist and Dr. both acknowledged how Aspen staff are expected to upsell, bait and switch or whatever name one wants to apply to providing costly services that are not needed to patients. As an organization with ~1000 offices, it is hard to understand how they continue to succeed with such deceitful practices. Here is a link confirming what I experienced - Aspen Dental Lawsuit - Highlights and Reports - State of the Suit.

The few visit I had with them something was wrong with me every time evn though I take great care of my teeth. I floss and brush regularly. My first visit they convinced me I had some gum disease and had to buy a cleaning package that included an electric toothbrush, special paste, a follow up visit, MI Paste (later saw it says professional use only). After the follow up visit they tried to get me to buy more things after the visit to which I refused. 6 months later I had an accident and needed a root canal. The work on it was terrible and needed to be replaced 3 times which insurance doesn't cover because it should last 5 years. They won't cover it either because "it's not their fault." I got a second opinion on the work done for the crowns and was told it was sized wrong, not glued properly, and the extra space is what caused it to fall off and break.

All they did was xrays and a quick dental cleaning that was not even necessary for my treatment. I paid for all services before leaving, and now, I'm getting a huge bill for extra services that weren't even done to me or that were necessary. Taking advantage of my condition, they charged for services that they didn't even do. Charging me for example a Perio SRP, doing further research it takes at least 3 visits for this treatment to take place since it's extremely painful and time consuming. The Perio SRP is a drilling of inside the tooth cleaning from the inside out. Something they didn't even do and still charged me for it. They were also supposed to call my nearby pharmacy and didn't even go through with that either. It was complete waste of time and will strongly unrecommend this place. I came in with horrible pain and came out with even more. 0 stars if I could.

I called Mid October and scheduled an appointment at Aspen Dental and they were able to schedule me for an appointment on 11/9. When I got there for the appointment the person behind the desk was instantly irate and said that no one scheduled during that time slot and I shouldn’t be there and I had to pull up my email and find the confirmation email they sent. Then after they find my appointment they asked me for my insurance information which I began to looking for in my wallet and they tell me they will be charging me $300 payable by cash only before I can be seen since I cannot provide my insurance (this was never discussed or mentioned in any previous encounters regarding this appointment) but I was actively looking for my insurance card and do have insurance. I just needed time to get it out so there was no need for the charge or for them to be so aggressive and impatient about it, this all took place within a matter of minutes.

The cash only part was perplexing as well, it seemed odd especially because the emails I was receiving said the first visit is free but nothing about a $300 cash only payment due at time of the visit. But they were not allowing me to provide my insurance info. They just wanted cash. I have never been here before. This was an initial new patient cleaning so I have no idea why things went the way they did. I missed hours at work and valuable time to get the dental work I need done.

I ended up cancelling my appointments because I felt like something just wasn’t right with the way they behaved from the time I walked in, they didn’t know I had an appointment and weren’t expecting me at all. The $300 cash only payment, and they were not acting like a normal functioning business. Why would they be so abrupt and rude when this is my first visit? You would think at least the first visit they would want to make a good impression. To be honest it felt like I was being scammed or about to be.

While on vacation in VT my front tooth/post came out. Website stated Aspen Dental has walk-ins/emergency treatment. Called the Brattleboro VT number on (which turned out to be Aspen’s call center) and told to make an appointment so I’m in the system and then go to Brattleboro as a walk-in. Drove 40 minutes to find that they are closed Wednesdays; rechecked the web which stated they are open. Re-called the Brattleboro number - this person said she can’t see office hours, but noted that there are no appointments listed today in Brattleboro so they must be closed.

I asked her to check Keene, NH. She could see appointments there so said I should go as a walk in. After a 30-minute drive, the Keene staff said there was only 1 dentist and my chance of being seen was basically zero. Also Brattleboro was short staffed and only open a few days due to lack of dentists. I am extremely disappointed that the Aspen Dental website, building signs, and call center state they take walk-ins/emergencies when they have so few dentists employed. The call center also needs to know the days open for their offices. After spending 4 hours on website, speaking with call center, and driving to 2 offices, my dental issue was not resolved by Aspen Dental.

I subsequently had a metal clasp break but had no repair done because being in my 80s, I did not want to travel to the dental office for fear of getting Covid. When I returned earlier this year, I was told the guarantee was only for a year and I had to pay for a new denture. Covid was an inconvenience but the fact they were closed for a lengthy period and I did not return because of it was irrelevant. Since returning, in the last 6 months, a clasp broke again requiring a new denture. A few months later, a tooth fell off. I returned for the fourth time for it to be repaired.

In the meantime, I had a new partial denture made for my lower jaw, anchored this time with clasps AND an implant. I stated at the time I did not want the denture to include the three rear teeth on either side of the jaw. I was informed that I had better have these teeth included but they could be removed if I wanted later. When I requested removal of these extra teeth, I was told they could not be removed and I would need a new denture. I agreed to wear the existing denture for a few weeks but if I wasn't satisfied to return. I then received a letter from Aspen stating they did not want me to return and I should find a new dentist. They would send all my records. No mention of guaranteeing the work they had already performed. Most discouraging and I would definitely not recommend them to anyone else.

But at about an inefficient, 2 hours later when I was ready to check out and still didn’t receive a cleaning, that staff person tells me, "You won’t be able to get a prophylactic cleaning today and will instead need a periodontal cleaning to avoid bone loss" and blah, blah, blah.

I said, "Get the dentist," who then started his exaggerating and amplifying song and dance beyond what he said in the exam room, so he can scare you into agreeing to the elaborated, inflated treatment plan beyond what is covered by insurance. They actual print out your annual dental benefits and stack this numbers alongside their “treatment plan”. In this way, I suppose, these charlatans never lose sight of the bottom line. Such absolutely unethical practices because they’re focused on building a treatment plan around your dental insurance limits and not the treatment you deserve. They said for me to have a chance at any money back I would have to go thru the painful process of getting the permanent set of dentures made come in for multiple adjustments and only then would I have a chance of getting my money back. No mention of having to get the permanent set of dentures was made before they pulled the teeth. I have talked to the owner in person once since then and he told me he would not give me my money back unless I went thru the permanent dentures process. I told him I would not go thru all the pain and suffering of doing that, He said too bad. No money back.

I talked to the Aspen Dental Management company and tried to get somewhere with them. They talked to owner also and came back to me with the same story,, NO MONEY REFUND. The owner a Mr ** at the Florissant Office is St Louis MO has the right to decide about this problem. They will save all kind of money by not having to make up the permanent set of of dentures and not having to pay for multiple visits for who knows how many adjustments to the dentures in the future. I would not do any business with Aspen Dental as it seems all they want is your money. They do not care about people or they would not have treated me this way. BUYER BEWARE HERE.

Still didn't fit and they told me it was all they could do. Moved to New Hampshire and went to another Aspen Dental thinking it would be different but they told me I would have to get an x ray for 144 dollars. So I agreed but after the x rays were done they told me I would have to have surgery to remove a piece of bone to make the lowers fit at the cost of 2,000 dollars and I should have both uppers and lowers replaced. I have not used the dentures since they were made 7 years ago. Would not recommend Aspen to anyone.

The first visit, which was supposed to be a simple cleaning, which would have been covered 100%, they used a fancy x-ray 3-D scanner and then trotted out a "periodontal plan" that would have me paying $280 every month/four months/6 months depending upon who was doing the talking. When I said that I just wanted the fully 100% covered cleaning they said they wouldn't do a cleaning unless I was enrolled in this very expensive periodontal plan. I had gone to my former dentist for years and he never said anything about my having periodontal issues. This place, like most of the healthcare now, is about sucking money out of people.

We tried to tell them that the high bp was due to his pain but they didn’t even give him a antibiotic for the infection. I sat down with the high-pressure salesperson to go over the dentures plan and my heart sank. The quote was for 14,000 but our part would be 7,000 due to insurance. I knew we would never be able to get my husband what he needed. We left still in pain and shaking because of the price. I do not understand how they can continue to scam people. Long story short, I took him to see our GP to get an antibiotic for his tooth. We have since been educated on all things dentures and found that Aspen is literally robbing people!

I asked her if anyone there could tell me if my insurance would be accepted as in Network or out of the Network and she told me, I would have to be scheduled for an app first, then be seen, then Hash it out with my insurance. Really? I told the lady I was no longer interested and hung up.

They must be doing really well as a company and that is a good thing if they provide accurate information and not give folks the run around and provide very good care, and not tell folks to just go in blind and worry about the financial consequences with their respective insurance later. Man if they are doing that good, there are a lot of gullible folks out there if they were treated the way I was. Unbelievable.

If I fell outside Aspen Dental and knocked my teeth out, I would pick them up and go somewhere else. My husband went last Monday to their Uniontown Pa office for tooth pain on his left side of his mouth. He left with them deep cleaning the right side of his mouth and a bill for almost 900.00! They were also nice enough to schedule to deep clean the side with the tooth pain two weeks later for another 700.00. They make sure they cover the legal part in getting you to agree and sign up for these outrageously priced procedures. But they fail to meet the ethical and moral obligations of medical care providers to make sure you understand the procedure, are comfortable with it and address the issues you have. It’s like going to a used car lot to buy your first car.

After calling and speaking to the office manager and regional manager they told us their resolution for our unhappiness was to go ahead and cancel my Husband's next appointment. When I asked how they could feel good about charging someone 900.00 and not even addressing the tooth he came in for, the office manager stated they did address it by telling him if it keeps bothering him he could have it pulled and an implant put in for 4800.00. These people are not medical care providers, they are in the business of making money off of people in a time of discomfort and need. Again we dealt and spoke with Cindy **, the Uniontown office manager, And Gary ** who is the regional manager. Dr. Jennifer ** is the dentist/owner of the office and Cindy and Gary said they both spoke to her about our concerns.

They even said they would not offer any treatment unless they did this unnecessary procedure. I said I will have to go to another provider and started to walk out of the door and then when they realized they would lose a CUSTOMER they said ok.

I had a crown there and sadly it fell off the next day in my sleep. I was lucky I didn't swallow it. I went there and asked for a fix or a refund and they REFUSED. I had to write their regional manager to approve a refund. Then after a couple of months, I checked my account and they fund was not there. Six months later and more than 30 emails I finally got my refund. I hate this place and advise you never to go there.

The dentist that worked on two molars has caused me a lot of pain and dismissed the fact that tooth sensitivity may have been caused by her filling procedure. I went in for two routine fillings on molars and was told the x-ray did not pick up deep decay. She proceeded to drill into both molars and just weeks following procedure, my teeth were extremely sensitive to touch and cold that I had to schedule follow up appointment. The dentist claims fillings were fine and that cause of sensitivity was gum recession even though not one of my other teeth were sensitive to cold. After probably 3 follow up appointments with the same complaint, she decided to try redoing fillings in an effort to fix sensitivity. One month to 90 days after the fillings, the sensitivity went away but little did I know both molars have died. I had to undergo root canal treatment on both teeth due to infection of necrotic pulp.

My teeth are in decent shape overall given I was not fortunate to have dental care growing up. I’m not happy with how dismissive the dental provider is in the sense that she clearly drilled too deep on both teeth. The endodontist stated that the fillings were on top of pulp which is not what the dentist that conducted procedure told me. She claimed fillings were fine however here I am in a tough financial situation. I have already maximized insurance and refuse to pay out of pocket any more for two crowns. I will be transferring to a new dental provider. I can tell at this point the office is treading water lightly when it comes to my care considering I can almost guarantee there is enough documentation to show a direct correlation to poor treatment planning with my situation.

I was then given a quote of "a little more than $900.00". Based on this experience, I felt an obligation to let patients in need of denture services know that the advertising quoting "$299.00 per arch" is an example of what I consider to be FALSE ADVERTISING. Unless money is not a factor in choosing dental services, I would suggest ignoring Aspen Dental's ads -- there are other dental offices who actually honor the pricing featured in their advertisements.

When a molar broke recently, I scheduled a Saturday visitation with the Aspen Dental facility in Shallotte, NC. I was able to get in fairly quickly although there were considerable telephone calls back and forth to confirm my dental insurance information. I showed up on time and was asked to complete a series of background docs, pretty typical. Each step in the process, I was informed I would meet with the business admin to discuss their 'treatment plan'. I met with three individuals, including the dentist, each talking about the treatment plan.

Now, I am experiencing some discomfort from the broken tooth but it appeared that the primary objective was to engage me in the 'treatment plan' rather than extraction of the decayed tooth. I did talk the dentist into at least calling in some antibiotics to my pharmacy but there would be no extraction that day until we agreed to the treatment plan.

A little background, I had been on a 'treatment plan' for four years at Fusion Dental in Raleigh, prior to moving here a year ago. In fact, my last visit was September 2020, as part of that plan. The dentist there had targeted the suspect tooth as a future item to resolve with a possible root canal. The main point is I was on a treatment plan and consistent with quarterly cleanings and cavity fills, etc. There were only about 15 months in between dentists (the move and the COVID caused delays) so I expected a suggested extraction of the bad tooth, a recommended root canal for the adjacent one, and a possible cavity fill.

I brush my teeth every day, without fail. I floss about once a week but had ceased with the presence of the bad tooth. I don't drink soda and my sweeteners for ice tea are Splenda or Stevia to minimize sugar intake as I am a Type 2 diabetic. Due to dieting, sweets are rare. So, you can imagine my shock when the business admin sat down with a 66-point 'treatment plan' that totaled $10,209 with a discount final total of $9981. It was four pages long with 66 items that included several crown replacements (I guess my previous dentist didn't do a good enough job because they were hers), an electric toothbrush (I already had from my previous dentist), and FOUR extractions, etc...etc. The question I had was how could my mouth go south so fast in fifteen months since I was following a dental treatment plan religiously before.

I then started questioning the validity of my previous dentist, Fusion Dental, in Raleigh. I examined their ratings and they were all 95% or 4.5 out 5, which would have been my assessment. So, how could their work be bad enough requiring so much rework--in fact, 10 grand of rework.

I did some research on Aspen Dental, a national chain with about 1100 operations nationwide. I found the following from an impartial consumer advocacy group:

-3,572,521 reviews on ConsumerAffairs are verified.
-We require contact information to ensure our reviewers are real.
-We use intelligent software that helps us maintain the integrity of reviews.
-Our moderators read all reviews to verify quality and helpfulness.

-rated 2.6 out of 5 --a big difference

I also found this: "The Center for Public Integrity (CPI) and FRONTLINE spent months examining Aspen Dental and found that the same business model that makes Aspen Dental accessible to people short on cash can also lock people into debt and has led to complaints of patients being overcharged or given unnecessary treatments."

I saw this as well from SiteJabber, a business reviewer: "Aspen Dental has a consumer rating of 1.12 stars from 33 reviews indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Aspen Dental ranks 86th among Dentist sites."

Since the facility in Shallotte is new, it was difficult to find multiple reviews outside of the company's website so I researched the closest I could find, Myrtle Beach, which yielded the following rating: 2.5 out of 5 rating from 16 contributions. Pretty consistent rating. But if those were not enough, Google search 'Aspen Dental Lawsuits' and you will be stunned at the hundreds of consumer and state attorney general lawsuits. Need I say more? It occurred to me that the 66-point 4-page treatment plan was a natural outgrowth of a visit to this operation. To be fair--not all of those 66 items included a charge like Oral Hygiene Instructions and totals. I am certainly not used to writing such lengthy reviews on local businesses but felt the corporate business practices have an unfortunate influence on this branch, which is a shame. If you are looking for dental work, you may want to examine some alternates.

This is where their incompetence lies. I've never seen the same doctor twice because they're flying in doctors from all over the country to fill temporary positions. They are trying to stay afloat. I pray and hope and can't wait until the Aspen Dental Office doors are closed permanently in Roseburg Oregon. My best advice to anyone is don't go, don't waste your time, don't waste your energy because you will be 100% disappointed. You've been warned.

She was awful!!! They don't care about their clients and they will not honor the price you get over the phone. DON'T TRUST THEM! You will pay more when you get there, Maybe Double like they did to me. I was told $750 for a partial over the phone. I get there and I'm told that's for a temp partial and after 6 months, I'll have to pay another $700-800 for a permanent partial. That's price gouging, like saying you can get teeth pulled for the special price of $125 per tooth and you get there and it's Double! I paid almost $500 for 2 teeth. THERE IS NO SPECIAL ONCE YOU GET THERE.

My husband had a tooth replaced that he had lost in a high school football game several years ago. It took Aspen five visits to replace it only to have it plus two good teeth to fall out a less than a year later. When he went to have Aspen fix it after paying over $3000.00 for it, they charged him another $160.00 to look at it and told him it would be another $1800.00 to fix it. When he declined Aspen turned him over to a collection agency even though he was making monthly payments on a bill that never should have been. He went to another local dentist which charged him $700.00 to get a partial because too much damage had been done by Aspen dentists.

When he went to Aspen to complain the financial officer admitted that the visit should have taken two visits and the dentist was incompetent. Now my husband is stuck with three missing teeth which never should have happened. Aspen only hires dentists that cannot get a job anywhere else or are just out of school with no experience. This is proof of that.

Absolutely the worst dental experience I have ever seen. My wife went to Aspen Dental for a specific issue due to their advertising. Once in the original appoint she was told they couldn’t help her with that issue. However they found a supposed cavity. She agreed to getting that fixed. For weeks after the filling she had severe pain in that area. She went back for a second appointment and they said they fixed the issue. Weeks later still with severe pain she went back for a third appointment only to be told she now needs to see a specialist and would cost additional money to see that specialist. She refused to pay any more money to get a tooth fixed that was never an issue until this dentist worked on it. We left and then began to call customer support in the corporate office. Was told the regional manager would reach out. She still has not contacted us.

I have called corporate office now 4 times trying to contact the regional manager or someone above to address this situation with no response from any higher ups. Was told by a supervisor in the call center that there was nothing the regional manager was going to be able to do because the dentist and owner of the Sun City location notated there were no issues/faults on her end. Please DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION or any Aspen Dental office. They scam people with their advertising and then charge high prices for damages they cause.

They are worse than the old stereotype of used car salesmen. First, just try upselling you the entire time you go - zero interest in fixing a problem. Second, their billing is a complete joke. Don't believe anything that they tell you. You will get a bill for much higher when your insurance company bounces back most of their ridiculous charges. Third, zero quality- tooth they added to my existing partial popped off while talking, the next day. Took it back, they repaired it (things happen) but then they charged me all over again. Saying since it wasn't their original partial they provide ZERO guarantee - not even 24 hours. My insurance company rejected this second bill completely and Aspen Dental now holds me liable for it. As it is better for me to just pay this ridiculous bill and fight it later I have paid it.

And as a side note, their tooth fell off again (5 months later), this time while I was sleeping and I swallowed it, so now I have to wait and see what happens with that. The other 2 teeth that I have in my partial (added by a different dentist 4 years ago) are still intact with no issues. Now I am going to have to pay a THIRD time to have someone with actual skill fix Aspen Dental's mistake. I cannot stress enough to NOT use Aspen Dental or at least do your research. I never leave negative reviews of businesses but this has been so bad I figured I should warn people. And yes I spent way too much time on the phone with them trying to get them to fix this issue, they just prefer to talk in circles.

Meanwhile I hear some guy down the way screaming. So I don't think so... give me more and allow more time to be effective. 2nd.. they call and send emails to assure you will be on-time. I was 10 min early yet it took them 40 minutes after to see me and then I have to wait another 20 for dentist. When I explain about my valuable time as well.. she expresses that there are other dentists in neighborhood I can go see.

3rd.. I find out after they billed Care Credit that I would have to pay more for the permanent dentures. I expressed that they were included in the package but office mgr. claims no. So they tell ya one thing and put on paper something else that you're expected to understand what was written. I mean why would I just get a plan costing $4,000 for temporary dentures??? I have been attempting to get a full set of dentures since 02/25/21 via Aspen Dental. I had an accident that broke out several teeth(10). I went into Aspen Dental located in Covington, Georgia and had an assessment done for extractions and full dentures. I was quoted a price that seemed rather excessive. I called to inquire about the matter a few days later, only to be given the run around and not getting a proper answer. I then decided to go into the office and upon speaking to the Office Manager, I was given a totally different pricing quote. While speaking with the Manager, I wanted to make changes to the services initially requested, to only have the full uppers done. Mind you, they applied dental benefits to the upper and lowers, but after the request for change, I was informed that the benefits applied to the lower (which I was no longer getting done) could not be applied towards the work that was being done on the full uppers. I found that to be very strange.

Secondly, after reviewing the detailed summary breakdown I was provided by them, I compared my pre-authorization from my insurance company to the summary and identified that they were applying codes that did not apply so that the insurance company would deny the procedure, yet the code on the summary was totally different and they wanted me to pay out of pocket for it. I was also told that prior to any work being done that a payment of 60% of the total is required (which they say is company policy, but could not provide documentation). If you are going to deal with Aspen dental, PLEASE VERIFY YOUR INFORMATION. They have had multiple complaints via the BBB about various issues, namely PRICING!!

They made you feel fantastic so I went back Monday as I was told to do at 12:30 because the lady that did the adjustment told me that she didn’t go to lunch and she would make a adjustment. Well I went as told and Amy the reception wouldn’t let me see the lady. She was so rude and not at all pleasant. I even ask her if she was having a bad day and even was very apologetic. Well she took my denture to the back after explaining where it was rubbing on my mouth and would not let me see the lady because you can’t relay which part is rubbing and how much to grind down.

She gave them back to me very sarcastic and I put them in when I got back to the car. They were worse than before so I went back and told her to take me off of her list of patients. There were several customers waiting to be seen and witnessed her slamming the phone down after several calls came in. She was not rude to any of them. It was her actions that was uncalled for. I even apologized for her maybe having a bad day and a man commended me for doing that and most people don’t apologize for being rude. I told him that this was not my imagination, that, of course, it was loose. He doubled down and left the room, after which the dental hygienist told me I needed a deep cleaning for $2300, and four subsequent visits in the following 12 months at $250 each, for a total of $3300.

I was then led to the front office where the financial employee tried to get me to sign up for the Care Credit card, a credit card issued by Synchrony Bank (with whom I've done business for many years). I told her that I would need to think about it and I left. A few days later, I received an email stating that my Care Credit card had been approved, and there was a charge for $1400 from Aspen Dental, for work to which I hadn't agreed, and a card for which I hadn't applied. I called Synchrony, and after an investigation, they determined that I definitely had not applied for the card. Within a few days, I was able to get an appointment with another dentist who found that the bridge was, indeed, loose, and he performed the proper work the following week. Visit at front desk went fine and I was shortly called back for xray and the no sense of humor Dr ** came in and talked above my head but had a list of crown and denture work that was needed but first I would have to go see an Endodontics at Haile plantation. Went to the referral (still in pain) and more xrays done; taken to another room where 2 nurses were arguing and settled on a table. Dr comes in and proceeds to tell me all my teeth are cracked and in terrible shape; I’m going to need Botox for TMJ, root canal, molded tooth guard etc etc. They give me scripts and schedule for root canal.

I’m still in pain and shock about the news on my teeth since I’ve always been told what good teeth I have. I go back for root canal but he says my tooth cracked so couldn’t do it and I have to go back to Dr **... I’m still in pain. Aspen gets me right in but I have to cancel because sister dies; they sound concerned and say no problem. Pain is now keeping me up and I can’t eat and when I call back hoping due to severity of pain they would get me in right away but no concern shown and appointment was going to be over 7 days. I couldn’t go another 7 days without eating, sleeping and pain! Called Affordable Dentures next day. Did xrays, checked teeth and said I had gorgeous teeth and only needed to extract one tooth which they did the same day! I’m home and pain free. I had a change in insurance last year which meant Aspen Dental was now the only place nearby on my plan. I read the online reviews and was disappointed because it didn't sound good. I decided since the first appointment was covered by insurance it didn't hurt to give them a try. I used to go regularly for cleanings every 6 months, but hadn't gone in 18 months due to COVID fears, so I was overdue. When I went in they refused to do the cleaning because I had buildup from putting it off and according to them it required a deep cleaning that was more expensive and had to be done in a couple of appointments. I admit I was angry because it sounded like they were doing the price gouging stuff many reviewers wrote about. I was quite rude to them and left. I spent the next few days looking in the mirror and reading articles on what they suggested needed to be done. After my own reflection on it I decided they were indeed correct.

I went in and had the work done and could immediately tell a huge difference so it was definitely needed. Before the appointment the staff gave me a written price quote for the work and even went through it line by line and helped me remove items we agreed weren't necessary to keep the cost down. When it was finally time for the cleaning appointment I was charged exactly what was quoted. Yesterday I had my 6 month cleaning appointment, so this has now been like my 4th time going there. The day before the appointment they called to tell me over the phone what the cost would be after insurance for yesterday's appointment so there would be no surprises.

They were true to their word. The appointment yesterday was super quick and easy. My teeth feel great and healthy again. Even after I was initially rude to several staff members they have always treated me with respect and understanding. They were firm in what they communicated and didn't sugar-coat anything. I appreciate that. I have to say after being upset about leaving my long-time prior dentist I have found a new favorite dental location. I would have no problem referring friends and family to Aspen Dental.

I was a patient at Aspen for over 6 years. I had a lot of dental work done over the years. Recently I had to go in to have a crown recemented and found out that they are now offering snap in dentures. I was so excited to find this out! I jumped at the chance to have this done by my dentist (who I trusted). It cost a lot of money. I had total confidence in them. When I woke up from surgery and saw the healing denture that they put in I was appalled! The front teeth were not aligned straight and they were also extremely elongated. I couldn’t even blow out a candle because of how big the teeth were!

I complained and they remade the denture. But once again the denture itself was too big. It went so far back in my mouth that it caused me to throw up every day for over 2 months. I kept going in and complaining about this but the dental assistants kept telling me I just had to get used to it. I was a dental assistant for 6 years so I have knowledge about all this stuff. I knew the denture was too big and needed to be adjusted. Finally I started throwing up so much that I started throwing up blood. It landed me in the hospital for 3 days. I went back to Aspen after my hospital trip and took all my paperwork. Finally the dentist shaved the back of my denture down and I haven’t thrown up since. But, then I started having swelling and pain around one of the screws that they placed during the initial surgery. They kept telling me I had a sinus infection. I did not!

I was so frustrated with everything that I went and got 2 second opinions with other dentist that specialize in this field. They both told me that the painful screw was infected and needed to come out. They also informed me that one of the other screws also needed to come out. So now I have to start all over again with another surgery to fix the problems that Aspen wouldn’t address. I have reached out to my Aspen Dental for some kind of refund but was denied. I also reached out to Aspen dental corporate but nothing has come of that either. I am truly frustrated by all of this!!! My advice is to do your research before choosing Aspen dental.

I went to Aspen Dental thinking I would get a fair price on a deep cleaning and implants in the upcoming months. Today I dropped in to see if I could get an appointment, they took me right away. They did the xrays and exam and through the visit they were relaying to me what they were finding. Even the dentist was honest with me and told me that I had gingivitis- but no cavities. I was fine with making an appointment for the following week. I sit down with the admin and she pulls up two different cost sheets- one without THEIR insurance and one with THEIR insurance. I was flabbergasted with their pricing- even with THEIR insurance.

The admin kept telling me I have periodontal disease and that I needed an $800 plus type cleaning. Then requested I put down a deposit. When I got home, I spoke to my family and they have NEVER spent that kind of money for a deep cleaning. I called up to the office to cancel and get my $500 deposit back. When I talked to the admin there she kept saying, "You have periodontal disease" - then the hygenist said in the background- "You do have periodontal disease." THE DENTIST TOLD ME I DO NOT!!! I will not return because to me it seems like the admin are trying to make commissions and skim the top. I am tired of people being dishonest.

Like many other reviews of this dental practice have stated they will advertise an offer for a free exam and x-rays then try and charge for your visit. They are not very welcoming over the phone with new patients. Calling the office is unpleasant. The receptionist does not even identify themselves. If you want doctor/patient confidentiality then this is NOT the place to go. They expect you to reveal personal information over the phone with no expectation of privacy. Dental offices are on every corner these days. Read the reviews and stay away from all Aspen practices. Second rate franchise and third rate dentists.

I was a Aspen customer for almost a year. I spent thousands there. I had insurance for 2 visits. My new job did not offer a dental plan. I told them this and decided to pay out of pocket. About eight months later they told me I owed them 400 because insurance didn't cover and they could take 200 off. This left me up for 240 still. It was a regular cleaning 240!!! I told them if they if they wanted my business they would have to void my balance and they said no and that I should hurry up and pay because it will go collections. So I paid it and will never darken their door again. Do yourself a favor and go to a local office. And ps one of my fillings fell out 2 days after I got it.

I went to Aspen Dental because I thought that they were catering to people without insurance and not a lot of money. After taking the x-rays they told me I needed all kinds of root canals etcetera etcetera. They did not offer me any solution except to pay over $10,000. I have a lot of teeth that just should be pulled out and just get a bridge or full denture. I looked on their website and with full dentures and extraction would come to less than $6,000 but they wanted to charge me $10,700. I called them up and wrote it in an emailed and also called the person in charge and I have not heard back because I told him I don't believe what they are doing is truthful. So they figured by just ignoring me I'll go away but I don't go away easily.

Let me start by saying that I am a professional Corporate Trainer who travels the country to train large companies and HR on Client Experience and Corporate Retention. I have never been upset enough to go directly home to write a review on any service in my life. I am new to Baltimore. I chose this Dental service based on a friend's review and their commercials.

1st visit with X-rays- Cool no complaint!
2nd Visit for Extraction-Good. No complaint!

3rd Visit the office admin tells me that I have to pay 220.00 (approx) for service. I was coming for a filling that cost 26.00 out of pocket. COMPLAINT.

BACKSTORY: On the second visit I was told my out of pocket visit for the extraction was $192 (approx) which I paid in full. Cool. A few weeks later I then called back for an appointment for a filling for $26. I was told then that my insurance kicked back $33.40 for part of the exam/x-ray and $148 for the extraction? I was not notified of this by mail or phone call. I then called my insurance company who advise they (ASPEN) were quoted what the insurance company will pay. I was advised that Aspen cashed the check given to them for my service. I called back and advised the office manager of what my insurance company said, she then advised she would open a case with their "dispute" dept to investigate. Ok...fine.

A week passes by and I show up for my appointment where I am told they didn't get a resolution as of yet and I should pay $220 or I would be denied service for the day. I didn't come prepared to pay or with a credit card that would cover $220.00 I came with $60 cash in my pocket to pay for the filling and overage for the Xray. ($26 + 33.40). I was also advised by my insurance that my portion should have only been $152.70 which included my $50.00 deductible. Was I overcharged by ASPEN? Seem so per my insurance company.

I ASKED THE OFFICE MANAGER, "CAN I BE BILLED?" Before I could offer another solution (such as can I call in the payment when I got home) she said "NO..We don't bill customers". She advised I could not be seen. With that cold non-communicative response, I advised her to "cancel my appointment"...her reply...FINE". Nothing else in the form of offering a better client experience, offering an alternative, caring that I was in pain...nothing. With that said I will find another Dentist. Very disappointed.

This review is not a slight against the Dentist...I am sure they are great. The business practice needs more work. I had to then go to CVS and purchase a temporary Cap and Crown cement to fill the hole in my tooth that is causing pain. What a horrible experience. I don't know who is wrong and who is right as far as my insurance and your staff.... but what I do know is how horrible to set someone out without service in pain. I have insurance, I have paid before, I am not skipping town....You have to have better alternatives and practice in place. What happened to the customer always being right? What happened to the client experience? What happened to CARING SERVICE?

I came to Aspen Dental to get a cavity I knew about filled. While there, they told me that a previous filling of mine was not done correctly and it needed to be replaced. They couldn't get me in for another week. When I came back, we did the 2 fillings and everything and the total cost was $580 dollars. I then had to come back after about 4 days because my entire jaw was in an incredible amount of pain. I waited a couple days just to see if it was pain resulting from the surgery, but no, they failed to fix the 'broken filling'.

I had absolutely no tooth pain before my visit. About a week later I could finally come in to see the doctor that did my fillings, and all she did was take an xray and tell me to come back a week later if the pain was still there. She recommended that I get a root canal instead of fixing the filling that never caused me any trouble in the first place. Mind you, a root canal is about 10x the price of the original filling. Absolutely just money grabbing greedy malpractice.

My experience: Suddenly I was told I needed to have Periodontal treatments due to disease rather than simply having insurance covered teeth cleanings every six months. They were rude and dismissive with my questions concerning this and became very agitated. I chose another dental office for their opinion, they confirmed that dental cleanings every six months and check-ups with x-rays yearly was the work that was necessary. I am nearing seventy years old and I have never been treated as disrespectful as I was by an office staff. The dental office I now go to is far more professional and caring and they treat me like a patient not a customer. To be honest I was already tired of Aspen trying to sell me "special" toothpastes and rinses to make money $ off of me before this. It felt uncomfortable telling them I was not interested yet again (I'm on a fixed-income) and they would become snippy when I would decline.

I don't think the official "Emblem" of Dentistry is what Aspen Dental stands for. I can't enjoy the luxury of EATING anymore, tasting foods and seasonings has become a thing of the past, when I cook, I can only "hope" dish is seasoned right, because my ability to taste is distorted. The nutrients, I would get from eating certain vegetables are no more, I talk like my "JAW is wired shut". Right now, my ability "to chew" is gone. Either the food gets under my upper plate or the teeth can't break through the "meat or pasta", (not to mention) I had bottom chompers (except for those Dr. ** Sr) took decades ago, I still had the ability to eat pretty much "ANYTHING" without a problem (no pain from my wisdoms) or any teeth in my mouth until I went to ASPEN DENTAL, in FREEPORT ILLINOIS.

I went there to have 2 teeth (in the back) on the upper right extracted, and 2 small holes were forming on the left upper and lower side of my mouth (no pain). I had dental insurance, and I thought I'd use it. I would normally pay cash for any dental problems I had but I found out QUICK dental insurance isn't that beneficial to have.

The dentist I ended up with had his assistants take X-rays, and they looked downright, crazy, he looked in my mouth, and started saying something was wrong with my "gums and teeth", and at first I almost walked out and didn't look back, because I was CONFIDENT in my smile, however, I had a cousin, that died from a "poisonous tooth" so I listened to this "SHYSTER", and what's worse I didn't get a "second or 3rd opinion" until AFTER the fact, he kept saying "Nothing else can be cone", "Nothing else can be done", and then his assistants started going "on and on" about how they take "molds of my original smile", and they have a "LAB ON SITE", and if anything goes wrong with my smile they can take care of it while I wait, they took molds of my mouth, and I NEVER saw the MODEL, they NEVER, measured the dentures to my MOUTH and jaw, but you see they will DOCUMENT "that they did".

I told the finance lady I did not want ANY of the services on my estimated dental plan, because they were "SKY HIGH", if they had "affordable low prices" they "never" discussed them with me. They told me, how nice I will look. They DISTRACT YOU, anyway I was MORE CONCERNED about my HEALTH. So they take me to this finance desk and tell me my insurance "isn't enough to COVER" what is NEEDED to get "MY SMILE back HEALTHY", so they tell me need a dental loan, I ask what the LOAN is for? She says it is "What is needed to to cover your SMILE", they make you feel that EVERYTHING IS COVERED. Obviously I thought that would mean me walking out of here with a SET in my MOUTH!

The dentist prescribed some medicine for me to take for the extractions (a full mouth extraction). Keep in mind I had a decent smile already, I was to take the medication the night before, and before I came in the "day of", so when I got there I was "RELAXED". I was told NOT to get the temporary dentures and I was going to tell the dentist this after the extractions because when I got there I was HIGH", and they went right into it, and I didn't know anything MORE was going to happen THAT DAY besides EXTRACTIONS. I knew what was going on around me but I couldn't talk or really move, so when he pulled that last tooth, I saw him walk away, and an Assistant walk up and stuff something in my mouth to the point "I gagged".

When she saw I was "gagging" when she took it out, she started shaving it, (I thought it was gauze) from the bleeding, but when she shoved it BACK IN and led me to the door, I'm in the crying and my daughter told me I had TEETH in my mouth, I had the temporary dentures I DID NOT want, I NEVER CONFIRMED I wanted. My relatives told me I "did not" NEED THEM. My gums would HEAL without them. I wasn't given the chance tell them that could have been my permanents, as well as the lowers, I told him 2 weeks later AFTER the extraction about how I didn't like the idea of those teeth being "shoved in my mouth" without me having the ability to stop it! I didn't know what was going on and I could stop her. (I told him) "Do you know what that feels like?" I wanted to stop her and I couldn't!

Why there WAS NO DISCUSSION NO CONFIRMATION for temporary dentures? Didn't expect them. They were "HIDEOUS". I looked like a Chess Cat. It was November 2020, I wasn't going anywhere, I had "1000 masks", I didn't NEED THEM, they cost 3 to 500.00 but they charged me 1071.00 for them, and the lower never fit they stopped adjusting and relining those all together because I NEVER wore them (and they knew I didn't). I DID NOT NEED THEM. Low quality, and charged 900.00, and to be put in my mouth at all, once I got them they NEVERRR Fit. I told them, I asked for a "Replacement Pair". They didn't give me one because they were hideous and UGLY.

Fast forwarding to asking about the dentures. They are suppose to Have "Comfylytes". Had a conversation with the dentist because (again) he NEVER showed me any options in sets of Naturalytes, Comylytes, Flexlyltes, went to the finance desk and was shown ONE (widget) pair and told (by the finance girl in December) I was getting a "BUILT pair". I would have to pay 900.00 for the "Comfylytes" so I said maybe later, then, they hold back on information. May 21, 2021 was the day to receive my Built Pair, I go in ready, it's about to over and done with still paying on this LOAN since January, the dentist snatched his money months ago, they ask me "Do you have the 900.00 for your Lower partial"? Huh? I took my upper plate, listened to them LIE, telling me the finance girl FORGOT to tell me I had to pay this 900.00 after all this time (6 Months) and left. Asked for my "money back guarantee".

A regional "Aspen Dental" calls me and tells me she is looking at some document I signed in April on the 30th on my dentist website (for Aspen Dental) where I had a discussion with a finance person and SIGNED the Document, when I was there on "April 30th" getting a 3D scan of my gums for my built set, never talked to anyone. I sign a COVID-19 sheet like everyone does that has an appointment. I demanded to see the Document, went the next day to get it, yeah the date was on the Document BUT NOT MY SIGNATURE, they Approved my money refund, but it was put back on the card for the LOAN and ONLY ASPEN DENTAL has ACCESS to it.

Then they send me a letter telling me I cannot be treated at any Aspen Dental in the U.S. (as if I want to) and I have 30 days to contact them for any information, however, they BLOCKED my phone number A WEEK LATER. LOL! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, I'm waiting to get my lower partials from an EXPERIENCED DENTIST, and that is what I SHALL FOREVER DEAL WITH ASPEN DENTAL are AMATEURS with a year to 5 under their belt, and a hidden AGENDA.

They called and said the person that made the teeth had covid and they had to send them to Indiana. Then a week later they called to cancel my appointment they said the place they sent them to had covid as well, I didn't make my the trip to Ohio because I couldn't go with no teeth. Finally I had 11 teeth pulled, 2 broke off and the dentist took some bone off in 3 areas I didn't know about this till that day. I've never been in so much pain in my life.

I was told to wear them overnight, I did, the next day I went back and my gums were hurting really bad, the dentist took my teeth and filled them down and they didn't fit and still don't fit. I went back yesterday and the teeth have been in a cup because they are so big, the girl yesterday said that I'm going to have "floaters." I would have to use a paste to keep them in but that doesn't work they are way too big, I've planned my vacation for the 13th to the 19th, they took more impressions and said come back the 14th. Now I'm leaving the 13th. So they moved it up to the 8th, but I know they wont be ready, the dentist said "You're going to have to deal with it," I went off. He said the only choice was to get implants, I'm on SSI. I can't afford implants or I would have done that to begin with, to say the least.

I'm so unhappy, I have cried over this for the last 2 months and there is nothing I can do. I'm going to ask for a refund and I'll go to the owner to get my money back, I can't go visit my family, I can't go out to eat with friends, I'm just so overwhelmed I don't know what to do. Two and a half years ago, went to Aspen for implants. At first everything seemed to be going smoothly. I asked Dr. ** why the two new implants were not straight and the other was straight. I was told not to worry, it was fine. I paid $12,000.00 for this. Then, just before everything was done, the oral surgeon wanted another $300.00. Some stupid excuse. A month ago, the last original implant came out. I just had the two that aspen put in. I couldn't get the dental to clip on right. I called aspen and they said to come in and it would be $191.00 for x-rays. I told them I didn't need x-rays, just some kind of alignment. Sandra said I had to have them or they weren't going to see me. Finally, they said I could come in for free.

Dr. ** said he has to adjust them, which he really didn't seem to do. He had an attitude because I mentioned about my complaint from two years ago about the two posts the oral surgeon put in. That now the denture is cutting into my gums. I finally got the denture in but it still cut my gums, the teeth didn't match the upper teeth and I can't chew. Dr. ** said to make an appointment to get some cleaning and some other work for another $1600.00. So, Dr. ** didn't align or fix anything and he sent me a bill for $322.00. I can't eat with these teeth and they hurt. I am not going to pay this bill for something he didn't do.

When I chose to go to Aspen Dental, I did so because though I’d been happy with the dentist I’d been seeing for decades, I had some concrete reasons to be concerned. He was perhaps missing things in my dental care. Though my teeth looked and felt fine, a fresh set of eyes couldn’t hurt, I thought. First off, as a new Aspen Dental patient, I was required to go through a ridiculous amount of x-rays that were not only time-consuming and annoying—but many of them factually painful from the way the x-ray films were placed. “Gee-a lot of our clients are throwing up by now!” one of the technicians cheerfully informed me by the end of the session. I was earnestly too concerned about contemplating the radiation-load my body was undergoing, to be thinking of throwing up. ‘First red flag.

During the following routine dental exam I was told I had “significant” periodontal disease. “Okay,” I thought, “maybe my other dentist WAS missing things.” I was prescribed a set of expensive mouthwashes, treatments and toothpastes to use in combating my “significant” periodontal disease. I was also charged for a $100 electric toothbrush that I hadn’t requested, they hadn’t mentioned, and that I didn’t even catch until I was home reviewing my eye-popping, after-insurance, bill. Of course I was also scheduled for a periodontal cleaning a few days later. I never saw a dentist at this first session—only a dental technician.

'Harboring some doubts but yet intrigued at this point—I showed up for my periodontal cleaning. I wasn’t looking forward to it--friends who had undergone similar procedures reported often having to spend hours in a dental chair, and sometimes even having to have the work split into two separate sessions. I settled back for the work to begin…and within 15-20 minutes was told I was finished. 15-20 minutes? Usually my twice-a-year-routine cleanings take roughly that long.

I checked with the technician: “That was a full periodontal cleaning?” He assured me it was, and told me to be sure to continue using all my special (expensive!) periodontal products. So apparently Aspen Dental can treat “significant periodontal disease” with a load of fluoride-laden care products and a 15 minute cleaning. What miracle workers! The dentist then came in, poked around in my mouth for five minutes, declared everything looked “terrific” and departed. ‘As did I—but not before I paid another exorbitant charge on my bill.

Needless to say, I have never gone back to Aspen Dental. A subsequent appointment with another dentist revealed I had no periodontal disease of any consequence—though that dentist did recommend using a tartar-removing toothpaste and/or mouthwash, of the type that can be purchased in any store. I attempted to use up my Aspen Dental prescribed periodontal products, figuring I had paid for them and may as well use them, but after starting to notice yellowing on my back teeth, and over-all tooth sensitivity, I became concerned about fluorosis from an over-load of fluoride—so I pitched them in the trash. The convenient, available (and *should* be less expensive) concept of "chain-store" health and dental care is an interesting one--but I can't recommend this place. I felt that their concern was far more for the credit limit on my charge card, than for my dental health.

The first appt at the Aspen Dental Clinic on Hwy 138 in Conyers was okay, as that initial visit generally is, however the visit on yesterday was incredible, for the lack of a better and more precise word. I'd reluctantly chosen a full set of upper dentures to replace my partial. During my initial visit, Dr. ** was insistent that I had only the options to get either an implant or a full set of dentures on top. During the first visit, an exam, e-rays and impressions were done.

I went in for my second visit after pondering for several months as to whether or not I should have the work completed. During this visit, which included extractions and the placement of my immediate dentures, I knew something just wasn't right when the tech never showed me the dentures. Also, upon my arrival, my unit was not in the place where the units are generally kept. The front desk person searched and searched, but could not locate it, and was told that it had already been placed in the back.

Well now I know why it was not upfront because they knew I would not pay for that unit. So instead of showing me the unit first while I still had my partial in, they hide the ugly truth and remove my extract my teeth so that I would be forced to leave with that ugly unit. After the extraction, each time she placed the unit in my mouth to check for the alignment and comfort, it was as if she was hiding it so I became concerned, however chose not to say anything. The unit was extremely uncomfortable so she had to repeatedly file it and place a lining, etc, etc. When nothing seem to improve the fit, she finally asked someone else to try to adjust it, but it continued to be uncomfortable and bulky and even to the point where my speech was quite different.

At that point, I was becoming near tears since I literally speak for a living, but I kept thinking to myself, surely they can fix this. They got it adjusted to a point where I felt I could deal with it until the next adjustment so I agreed to leave. Since I was never given a mirror as in the past, I thought I would go to the restroom on my way out to look at my new unit. I was in utter disbelief and before I could control myself, the tears that were already forming just streamed down my face. I suffer with anxiety and hypertension so I could feel myself becoming extremely anxious; yes it was just that bad.

I left out of the restroom and went to speak with whoever would listen which was the tech who'd assisted w/ my procedure, and who also directed me to someone else. I told the person (Ofc mgr, **) she directed me to and also Dr. ** who joined in, that the left side and the right side appeared as if each side belonged to two different people. The teeth on the left side were about half the size of the teeth on the right side. Only the fourth front teeth are decent looking. I was thinking this cannot be, it's Aspen Dental and they have probably served millions and maybe even tens of thousands at this particular location alone. I was livid and so distraught that I could hardly speak, and the improper fitting dentures did not help.

Everyone knows how important your smile is which is why those who can afford it spend thousands for a nice smile. Though this unit did not cost thousands, I did at least expect the teeth to be the same on both sides, after all they are false teeth and can be made practically anyway one chooses so why would someone make them look so imperfect? If I were to get a prosthesis body part to replace a body part which had imperfections due to age, etc, I wouldn't request or expect the false one to be made with those imperfections when I can have it made to look better.

The lab techs at this place MUST be incompetent because surely any professional and competent tech should have been able to look at that unit and realize that it simply was not right! But instead of correcting their initial mediocre work, they tried to actually push their incompetent work on me as if the unit was a donation. I am currently searching for someone to make me a new unit because I can't even fathom anyone at that location touching my mouth ever again, and again...YES, it was THAT bad of an experience!! All I can say is that it would be in your best interest to stay away from this place!!

The office is beautiful, staff is friendly, but I think priorities are off. Appointments are inconsistent as I'm scheduled and don't know or time is different from what they gave me.2 weeks ago I went to Orland after I chipped a tooth. They did x rays, set me up for Care Credit for INVISALIGN. I didn't get Invisalign yet but got charged to Care Credit. I found out today went they sent me to Bloomingdale for what I hoped they would fix the chipped tooth. No they scheduled surgery for next month for another tooth.

Seems to me they are ignoring the broken tooth. All they have to do is bond and reseal. I went to a dentist in Worth years ago who fixed the tooth no problem. Aspen seems to give me the runaround about a chipped tooth. They're running up a huge bill and I see very little getting done. The chipped tooth is more important than Invisalign. Now I don't want Invisalign period. I can't get something smaller done then no. That was an issue I had with a previous dentist. They advertise cleanings ($79). I think just to get people in the door. They don't want a job that's small. They want to sell crowns, braces, dentures, partials, things that cost thousands.

I purchased Comfy Lites in 2017, still paying off the last 1k of this astronomical amount of money for dentures. Had an upper and a lower partial suppose to be under guarantee. Fast forward to this week April 13 2021, had to have one of the teeth lower left removed due to complete infection and not worth saving,.. am ok with that just get the tooth out of my head. The dentist was fine and of course another new dentist, in the last few visits prior to this dentist I was able to see a dentist 3 times, prior to that another dentist did the remainder extractions. Each time visiting any of the offices for anything they want to revisit TREATMENT plans with you, understandable make sure it's paid for. BUT WATCH OUT. HERE THEY COME WITH THE FINANCIAL PLAN, in essence my dentures purchased in 2017 cost me over 3k upper full and bottom partial.

Now if they pull the remaining few teeth in my head they want to rebill me another 3k for another whole new set of dentures, totally negating there's not one thing wrong with my upper and only need a bottom new set----however, that's not happening!! Why would I pay another 3k for a whole new set??? I'm going to find another way to get the bottoms refitted if necessary. Doesn't need it at the moment only if anymore teeth need to come out which they of course advised me to eliminate pronto and sign on to their newest 3k program. I laugh out loud-this is totally and obviously a money business not about dentistry genuine dentistry.

Old school here-- they are profiting on desperate people with bad credit and I was THERE! Look at other alternatives, people PLEASE~ Also, I saw only ONE person in this office this week that has been there the last few times I was there, the entire office staff is always NEW. My previous experience with another office manager 2 dentists back had a $700 credit just DISSAPPEAR from my balance. Oh because it was a mistake of charges. Something to do with insurance payments not allocated properly to my account. NEVER EVER did get a response back on that. Oh and that new office manager right after that one IS ALSO GONE,..

What's really going on at ASPEN DENTAL? I had to get this tooth out this week and paid them the $140 for the simple extraction, glad to be over with it, didn't sign any NEW TREATMENT PLANS for the new 3k DENTURES.. OMG Really how stupid AM I? Never returning there for anything. Don't recommend them unless you have serious A1 credit.

After countless trips and gallons of gas and time wasted the final results, don't go to Aspen Dental unless you don't care if your dentures stay in or If you can eat with them. I don't know but I do know if I was making dentures I would not give you something flat and try to put on something rounded like your gums and make it stay or have any type of suction. It will not work and I will not spend any more time or money dealing with someone who doesn't know or don't care.

Bottom line, they got your money and that's all that matters. They will keep seeing you to remedy the problem but they still don't fix it. If I was them I could have still made money if I sent your impressions out to a real dental facility and had them make your dentures because they don't employ any one that knows how to make a set of dentures and if you ever know someone who did aspen dental didn't do it because you can't make something flat stick to something rounded and make it stick or have suction, maybe with some highly toxic super glue or instant contact cement you can make it stick but this goes in your mouth aspen dental.

Ok if you still go and get the same results I did you were warned. Good luck and go somewhere real. Read reviews. I will throw mine in the garbage, get bad credit and try to forget about it. And for sure get some dentures from a company that employs someone who can manufacturer them. Thank you and have a blessed day and I will try to do the same.

I Do Not have periodontal disease and in no way needed a deep cleaning, I only had two occlusions that needed a small fill. I was only charged for the two fillings at the new dentist. The funny thing is that the dentist at Aspen was not the one who said I had periodontal disease. It was the office manager that told me I needed all this work. It added up to around 4000.00 dollars, I just couldn't believe that my teeth had changed that drastically from the last visit with my old dentist who had retired.

I started my dental implants 2 years ago. I was given a quote for $20k to do my top teeth and a specialized partial for my bottom teeth. I discussed in length them using both dental and medical to file claims since I have MS and virtually no Vitamin D. These 2 conditions have caused multiple bone issues, including causing my teeth to crumble.

At the preauth meeting, their Claims Manager (CM here on out) said my dental insurance (which is federal ins) pre-approved just over 8k to do all the work. I just had to pay 12k, 6k upfront and 6k just before they "seat my implants." I was assured that they were willing to do it all for 20k and that it included everything involved.

I paid the first 6k. Then had all my top teeth pulled and a temp denture created til my implants were ready. It is a lengthy process due to having posts put in my jaw bone that had to heal and all that goes with it. In that time, the first CM left and an office secretary was moved into her position. She claimed, more than once, that she was learning billing, etc. So I made it a point to make sure everything stayed on track with filing, my costs, etc.

There was a big snafu in billing because this new CM said I was all ready to go, but I had a bill for over $7k. I had not even gotten my implants yet and no one would explain it to me. I called MULTIPLE times asking what my insurance paid, did it get billed correctly, etc. I finally called corporate to get help when the CM refused to talk to me, return my calls, or explain the bills to me. All she would say is "that is what your ins didn't pay." She also lied and said she never said that yet I have a witness whom she explained it to after one of my procedures.

None of my bills showed what ins did or did not pay, only what I owed. It took months for me to get someone to sit down with me. It was a different CM, again, and only then, 13 months later, I found out they never filed anything with medical and the dental was never filed correctly (per my dental ins) so Claims were denied and the dentist never was paid. Had they bothered to explain this, call me back, and work with me, I could have helped them get the Claims resubmitted correctly and get them paid what they were owed. But they refused to give me any of their time until it was too late to submit ANY of those Claims (they only got one year to resubmit them).

I spoke with their corporate office and they even instructed me on how to help my dentist office get the right claims done before the time expired. But because no one would talk to me, it never got done. I was trying to help them get paid for the work besides my part of the contract. Throughout this entire time, I had complained that my temporary lower partial was extremely painful, did not fit, and was unusable. Not one person cared. I was blown off every time.

Then this past fall, we finally can move forward (fully healed) and I was still trying to get my lower temp partial fixed. The new denture tech even stated "no one could wear that!" when she saw my temp partial. I was also assured that once my implants were finished, my impressions could be done for my lower permanent partial, a special one I chose that they agreed to and that it would be done faster and easier than this whole process. But I needed to finish my top teeth first.

I went today to have my implants finished on top. Not only was it very painful and is causing nerve pain in my face, but I was told they would not be doing my lower partial, at all, despite me paying my portion for it. The first excuse by the dentist was that "no one understood how to bill medical insurance, that it was more of an oral surgery thing to do." (I had MAJOR oral surgery with her but she didn't bill them correctly despite me telling them I had spoken with my medical insurance?)

The second excuse was that it was "costing them far more than they anticipated." And She already had to pay another "5k to finish my top" than she expected. Is that MY fault? No. I could have helped her get payments if she had just taken 5 minutes before time expired for me to tell her what I was told BY ASPEN DENTAL. She even said "Aspen doesn't even know how to bill it with medical." Apparently they did if they walked me through it when I found out they had not been paid! I did the leg work! All she had to do was submit the Claims. She never did. My insurance said they never received one.

My med ins said it WAS a medical necessity, and all they needed was a claim, even gave me a fax number to make sure it went to the right place, which I gave to them. I have Federal insurance. It covers far more than average consumer insurance covers. My dental alone covers up to 25k in work. (This wasn't cosmetic. Without vitamin D, my bones crumble. With dentures the jawline wears away without the roots of teeth to hold onto, hence the need for posts implants placed in that bone.) My dental insurance found the preapproval and said the Claims were filed incorrectly. So they were denied payment. It had to be filed a special way indicating a medical necessity. It was not. Yet this office never did anything with the information I sent them.

I spent MONTHS gathering info, talking to my doctors, getting letters written for medical necessity, and calling this dentist office so they could refile the Claims. They never returned my calls, sat down with me, or did anything to get it done, until the time expired to refile. Now they refuse to finish the work I paid for. I paid my part. They contracted to do it for 20k; 12k from me, rest from my insurance. THEY filed it incorrectly. THEY refused to call or discuss it properly with me. And yet, I did all the leg work and am being penalized for THEIR incompetence!? The dentist also said "most insurances won't pay for this." Then why did they agree to start in the first place? They did not follow through on their end (despite over a year long attempt to help them get paid) and told me this last minute, 2 years after we started this.

I now have missing teeth on the bottom so I can barely chew food. My lower teeth have shifted drastically and are crumbling now. I have nerve damage to my mouth and face. She also admitted she had never done this type of implant, had to call in a specialist who had. She should have researched what all was involved and the cost and presented it before we ever agreed to proceed. Now I have paid 12k, have few lower teeth, no partial, have difficulty eating, the top implant does not fit properly and is excruciating causing nerve pain to my left face, and my lower partial will not be done at all, leading to even further damage of those remains teeth and jaw bone.

I have contacted an attorney. I will also contact the board of dentistry. I am only asking that they finish the work they agreed to. I should not be penalized because THEY screwed up. They should have had ALL of the costs before just throwing out a number they "were willing to do it for." She should have known exactly what she was doing BEFORE she started the work.

If they won't finish, I will go ahead with the attorney and sue for malpractice, breach of conduct, unethical behavior, pain and suffering as well as report her to the board of dentistry. If she has never done this, she had no business making me her guinea pig. She had already pulled all my teeth before saying she had never done this kind of implant. I don't know that much about them. SHE chose what kind of implants to do. SHE chose the cost she was willing to do it for. And SHE chose to not finish. Now what else can I do? I began my contact with Aspen Dental in Grand Forks ND in August of 2020. At my first appointment I voiced concerns that I had trouble communicating with the dentist and was assured that she was a good dentist and I would not have much contact with her, but instead with others in the office. She only did the actual dental work. Therefore, I continued working with her. I paid in full at that appointment and ever since then have gotten poor to worse service. Apparently we had a miscommunication the first appointment, which set everything back approximately 3 months. Then when I contacted the office, I was given incorrect information and only when I challenged the price I was quoted was I given the explanation of "She's a new hire and didn't understand" and assured I would only have to pay the price I'd originally been quoted.

Then when I had a follow-up appointment, they misunderstood what they were going to have to do that day, telling me the error was from outside their office. I decided not to trust them and gave them 2 days to order the parts needed. I then called back and was told that the person would check on the status and return my call that day. Nothing. I called back the next day and was told the same thing, they'd check the status and return my call that day. On the third day, I was told the same thing and I said no, I would hold while it was checked on.

I was then told the order had been placed just that morning. I asked why not the day I was in or the next, or the next, or the next and was told they always order on Fridays. However, if that were the case, they could have told me on Wednesday that orders are placed on Fridays or when checked on either of the first two days, I could have been called in that follow up (that never came) and informed of this. Again, I was told, "She's a new hire and didn't understand." At that point in time, I asked for the customer service representative's number at the next level up. I was later contacted by the office manager for the Grand Forks office. This is the one and only time I have gotten a return call from Aspen Dental. But today I got a call saying parts are in and I can come in on April 14 to start the process. No, I said. I need to get in sooner. Their errors are not my problem. I am now waiting, again, for a return call simply to schedule the appointment.

So my advice to anyone considering this option is to 1) find another, but if you must 2) always record every single conversation you have with the office, 3) never wait for them to get back to you, 4) always work on the assumption that you will have to go over their heads to get so much as a telephone call back, or 5) agree to pay them only upon completion of their services to you and then they will be paid in accordance with what they provide you. But still, my first and strongest recommendation is to go elsewhere!

I asked where my information was that I took the time and was required to provide online and she shrugged and said she didn't know and it wasn't in the the computer. At this point, I am beyond frustrated at the careless attitude and the lack of value of a customer's time and patronage. If this is how they handle a new patient from the beginning, then I cannot trust them to handle my dentistry care and services. Aspen Dental in Lufkin not only charged my insurance $6500 dollars (some, of which the Billings codes did not appear on my bill) of which they paid approximately $1200, they had me pay out of pocket $1900 for extractions, a temporary lower denture and bone grafts. I specifically asked about bone grafts before starting any treatment hoping it would save me out of pocket costs. The office manager said absolutely not, that my insurance was covering that. Well after having extractions and receiving my temporary lower denture I received a call that they could not continue my treatment until the “past due” amount of $1100 was paid. They informed me that my insurance doesn’t cover bone grafts and I was responsible for the cost.

Of course I contacted my insurance company and was told that had they bothered verifying my coverage before treatment they would have known that. They attempted to conference call the office manager and held for 20 minutes before having to disconnect. I immediately called the office manager and she told me she didn’t need to talk to the insurance company that she knew what she was doing. She told me that she would “take care of it” and I wouldn’t owe anything else. That she would call me on Friday to let me know what day I could come in this week.

Of course she didn’t call and when I called this morning she was with a client and I was told she would call me right back. I told the receptionist that I had an appointment at 1pm today with another dentist and if I didn’t hear from them before then I would continue my treatment somewhere else. Of course they didn’t contact me so I went to my other appointment and will be receiving my permanent lower denture tomorrow at a cost much lower than the $1100.00 that Aspen said I owe them. Then I started getting a rash around my neck and ears that still today remains but has traveled slowly down to my upper chest and back and shoulders! I have gone to both my family doctor and a dermatologist and neither knew what the rash was! I am 73 years old and have never had any problems with my skin or rashes like this! Please avoid this if you can.

After 2 hours, all they wanted to do is to get me to agree with all types of dental procedures that I do not need. When I said, "No thank you. I will stick with twice a year cleanings." They felt it necessary to go over it for a third time. I my opinion this company is a shame. What a waste of 2 hrs of my life. I would like to bill them.

I was having tooth pain and called Aspen Dental in Viera, FL to see if they could look at it. They were able to get me in the next day. After waiting 20 minutes I get in and have about 12 x-rays and then taken to another room and wait for 25 minutes for the Dr. to come in. She comes in and says she can’t see anything wrong from the x-rays and never looks in my mouth….I say no root problem, no cracked tooth, filling ok? She then taps on a few teeth and says must have been a piece of food got stuck up there. I wait some more and a technician comes in and does a gum test. After more waiting another person comes in and says a deep cleaning of the gums is needed. I say no for now. This is a free charge for a first visit, which was very nice. After 2 hours I am out the door with no problem in my mouth.

Two weeks later it still hurts and we are in Tampa area and I call Aspen Dental to make another appointment to check it out. He tells me it will be a minimal checkup charge for $89.00. We make an appointment and then he says my chart shows I need the deep cleaning for the cost of $900.00 or a regular cleaning would be about $230.00. I canceled this appointment as I was getting the impression they were more about the money than me. I found another dentist and got in right away and found out that tooth was broke in half and had some infection in it. I will never recommend Aspen Dental to anyone.

So, basically after spending 2 months in and out of this place it was a complete joke. I went in knowing the work I needed done. I had my x rays which first time visit was free. Spent maybe 2 mins with the dentist that wasn’t the normal dentist who does the exams and then the hygienist. They do all this work up really without telling you. So I needed my wisdom out and 4 fillings with a cleaning. My husband and I were paying out of pocket which was 2600 for everything. I had scheduled my wisdom with the oral surgeon and got that done. Recovered for 2 weeks and finally made my appointment to get my teeth cleaned. No problem. She was great!

Then, I scheduled my fillings a week later. That’s where the problems started. She was done in 45 mins no problem. Everything seemed fine. So a few days later I wanted to check on an old filling so I called and asked to be seen and was told I had to get all new x rays and such for 180? Why? Made no sense to me. So I said I would have to call back. Called back later and she said she didn't feel right having me get all new x rays. Ok, so I set up the appointment for the next day. I just didn't feel right about it all so I decided to call a completely different place. Got in to see them and basically told me that 3 out of 4 teeth she did she missed the cavity. I was beyond pissed.

So I ended up calling their helpline or however it's called. talked to an awesome lady and was trying to help me out. I sent my x rays to Aspen to confirm and my ones from aspen to my new place. I basically got a call from the office manager wanting to know my story. It was so awkward bc she immediately said she wasn't refunding me. I never asked but I was telling her I didn't want to ever set foot in there so I understand her saying that. I just wanted them to see the mistakes that were made. She basically told me all dentists have different practices. It's crazy to me. So I got off the phone with her in tears bc that is more money I have to spend somewhere else.

I wrote the lady I talked to on the phone about my experience with the office manager. She got back to me the next day explaining if I can give them a second chance. So talked with the office manager again and got set up. Went to my appointment and basically everything I said that was wrong she found. The thing that was so unprofessional about the dentist was how she said, "Oh I didn't even look at your x rays. My bad?" What? she knew it was bad but said it anyways. So when I sat down with the office manager she basically went over how I had to pay for all this and it was 628. I just told her I will call later and set up another time. I'm going with the new dentist and trusting myself on this one.

I went to Aspen Dental. For my first visit they did numerous X-rays and I spent most of my time with the hygienist and seen the dentist for maybe 2 minutes. I was then told by the dentist and the hygienist that I had severe gum disease and that I would need to have surgery on my gums to repair it. I went up to the front desk to find out what my insurance was going to cover for the surgery and my insurance was only going to cover $2,000 and I was responsible for the other $2,000 that I had to pay upfront before even scheduling the appointment to get the surgery done. I went home, discussed it with my husband and realized we can't afford that so I called Aspen Dental back the next day and told them that I would just like to have the three cavities that I have filled and the one tooth with a loose filling fixed and they told me they won't do that until I get the surgery done for my gums. So I told him to destroy my records. I would go back to my original dentist.

I went back to my original dentist and told them what I was told by Aspen Dental and my dentist told me that I do not have gum disease. That I have gingivitis and if I continue to get deep cleanings every 3 months it will prevent me from getting gum disease so Aspen Dental lied to me to try to get money out of me. I was warned about this dentist by many people but I didn't listen and I wish I did. This is the worst dentist ever. Do not go to them.

Went to ask about getting a filling. Saw the dentist for maybe 3 minutes and but spent most of the time with the hygienist who told me I had a gum infection and my tooth wouldn't be filled until corrected that issue. Was told by their business secretary I would have to pay over 1200.00 before I could get my tooth filled. And another 400.00 for the filling. A few weeks later I found out they billed my insurance company for the same visit they said was free and sent me a bill for 180.00.

If there was any special circumstances to my visit being free they should have mentioned it but they did not. I was just told over and over there was no charge for the first visit because they were running a special. Before I left they gave me a total price of 3600. After my insurance over 1600.00 out of pocket. And I needed to pay 300.00 to make an appointment for my next visit for treatment and almost 900.00 for the second. I just came for an x-ray and filling. If I could give them a zero I would.

After two hours of being there for X-rays I did not request, waiting for a Doctor and a Hygienist, they tell me I had to return for cleaning. I said, "You're kidding, that is why I am here." Plus they would not do a general cleaning but only deep cleaning for $212 for upper and $212 for bottom out of my pocket. It's all about the money. How real dental individuals work there is beyond me to be a part of a company that takes advantage of customers and tries to scare them into spending money. I am 72 of age and these tactics are despicable. They refused to just clean my teeth which insurance pays because the doctor and hygienist says I need a deep cleaning. All about money, Insurance obviously does not pay them enough but they use it to get us in the door to upsell. Oh by the way, had them cleaned in less than a year too. After the dentist came in and confirmed that I needed my wisdom teeth pulled and informed that I would have to wait a month to do so, the hygienist came and told me I needed to have my teeth cleaned.

Before she even did the cleaning I was told I needed to speak with financial about payment options. They told me with my oral surgery and cleaning, my total out of pocket would be $3500 and to even schedule my surgery, I would need to pay $1500 upfront. When I told them I didn’t have that kind of money, she gave a paper to sign without explaining it. I asked what the paper was for, then she said “oh, that’s just so we can do a soft credit pull to find a lender for you and you pay them back.” You would think I didn’t have insurance! I am crying over a year later as I write this review. My one insecurity and they made it worse! The dentist, and workers there are fantastic. No problem with them. My problem is with the business practice itself. They asked me what I wanted to do and I told them that I wanted my teeth pulled and either dentures or implants. I showed them the teeth that were bothering me and the chipped tooth in the front.

They are the professionals so I let them do their thing. They touched every tooth and poked above it on the gum leaving a little hole. On a few of my gums above the tooth there are still the hole they poked. It's been more than a year. They never told me which teeth I was getting pulled and when I asked they told me the bad ones. They insisted that I needed to have my teeth cleaned and scaled. They charged almost $300.00 per side! I only got one side done.

They pulled the teeth they deemed unsavable. I had one on the bottom that had a black filling in it from 1983! It bothered me, it hurt, it had a cavity and they left it in! Another tooth on the top towards the front had a cavity I paid to have filled. It broke so now I a nub of a tooth and have to pay a decent dentist to pull and put an implant in.

I paid almost $7319.00 and am getting a refund of $586.00. I got charged for severaI periodontal maintenance procedures at $179.00 each and never got those. I never got my cavities filled, never got the second cleaning, never got my partial dentures sized and never got my permanent dentures. The chip in my tooth I paid to have fixed never got done and my dentures do not fit and have not since I got them. They fall out of my mouth. I saved a long time to get my teeth fixed. It was my one insecurity and still are besides the pain. A refund of $586.00 is a joke but it is all they said I could get and I have to pay another dentist to fix their mess. Never, ever would I recommend them. Looking back I feel like I was rushed through everything. Very sad.

Total scam dentistry. This place is a mill. They get you in the door then over diagnose. My son was traveling and went in to see them because he had pain in one tooth. He was told that he needed 3 wisdom teeth removed. I called and asked why remove 3 and was told, "Well these teeth are in the back and hard to reach so they might get cavities." I asked if he had cavities in them now. She said no but they are at risk of cavities. Of course all teeth are. He was in pain and so we thought he should get just the one tooth removed. However they wouldn't make an appointment without receiving payment. So they billed our cards for the work they were planning to perform at an appointment the following week. I looked at Aspen's estimate and they had on their estimate bills for additional anesthesia (3x) which is ridiculous because the surgery had not been performed so they would have no way of knowing if they needed additional anesthesia units.

Something felt off so I called my dentist who said this sounds like a total scam operation and told me that I was correct that it is not normal practice to bill before service and also that I was right about the anesthesia overbilling because until they would go in they would have no way of knowing if additional anesthesia is necessary. Total Scam. I called my HSA credit card and let them know what is going on and am disputing the charges since services were not rendered.

After a few months it broke into. Had it fixed which they charged my insurance for. Two weeks later it broke again. So this year they were trying to make me a new upper denture. My first appointment was June 1, I did three wax try ins none worked. So I told the dentist I would just drop it (September). I told him I was still scared to eat with the partial because of it breaking so much. So he wanted to look at it. He said no wonder that it was just a temporary. So I asked, "When would I get the permanent?" So he sent one of the office managers in to talk to me and told me I would have to pay another $1100 for the permanent. I asked why I was never told, after a whole year, about the partial being a temporary and no one seems to know the answer.

They have finally decided to do me a favor and make me one for $700. I have used Affordable Dentures for years and never a problem. So I will go to them and get the partial for $375. One other thing, the Dentist, Dr ** never wore a mask (COVID) and sometimes didn’t even wear gloves. I was very nervous with the virus going on. They pulled out my wife's front teeth. I'm not sure why. When she received her teeth they didn't fit too well. Then she was scratching her tongue on them. Let me tell you she got an infection in her mouth that she still has today, that's almost a year now. She has been in extreme pain from something nobody can seem to tell what it is. She's been to many doctors about it. Now it's like all the dentist here won't help her. She has dementia and I believe they were doing her rotten because of that. I could go on and on. This place is a racket. All the way to the back they use.

I watched my wife completely deteriorate because of the pain. These people don't care for nothing but their own pockets. People just can't put others into a curtain category without knowing the facts. Don't just assume they're something when they're not. My first thing every morning because of this is to see if she's still alive. That's incredibly hard to do every day. I will never let anyone take advantage of her ever again. 1st experience: I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning, and it took well over an hour for the dental hygienist to get me. When questioning the receptionist if I should just reschedule, she said, "no, just wait a couple more minutes." They could've easily informed me on the situation. What's the point of pre-scheduling an appointment then? Was offered no apology for the delay either.

2nd experience: I went in to get a couple of fillings done. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I was taken back to have the procedure. I was given ** shots and the drilling began. Half-way through, the dentist left suddenly, explaining nothing, and leaving me with blood, saliva, and tooth shavings filling my mouth FOR 45 MINUTES. He comes back and has to numb me again at this point, almost finishes the filing, and yet again, leaves me for another 30 MINUTES with a mouthful of blood, saliva, and tooth shavings (I WISH I could make this experience up). I asked him why it takes over an hour to complete just a couple of fillings...his response is, "It is what it is. Sometimes you just have to wait." No accountability, no explanation, no apology.

3rd (and hopefully final) experience: No one had asked for my updated insurance after the office had been closed for about 6 months due to COVID, so when I came in to get my 2nd cleaning completed (which had been scheduled back in March and out-of-pocket expense already paid for), they didn't bill my insurance for the cleaning or fillings until the office opened back up, at which point my insurance had changed, so now they're expecting me to pay for the entirety of service out-of-pocket without any insurance covering it.

Extra teeth pulled, root canal, removable bridge rather than the permanent I had insisted upon. Etc etc. I was tired, in pain, trying to understand thru 2 masks. I started crying. Dentist laughed at me AGAIN. That was 6/16/20. I've been waiting almost 3 months now for my bridge and no one will tell me when that may be. I hate them. I am POOR. I did odd jobs and saved pennies for 2 years for THIS??

On 7/6/20 I went to Aspen Dental on Outer Loop in Louisville KY. I spent at least 45 minutes with their financial person going over what it would cost to do deep gum cleaning treatment and a crown for a broken tooth. I am on Medicare and told her I needed the lowest quote possible for my "out of pocket expense" after insurance. We got that down to $1300 from $1600 which I reluctantly put on a credit card and the rest was billed to my insurance. Now I am getting a bill for an additional $1270 as they state the insurance didn't pay. Obviously they do not call the insurance for a definite amount of insurance benefit. I got scammed into it. They are very good at convincing you that you need this treatment and making you believe that the insurance is paying the balance. I have my insurance company as well as my lawyer looking into this operation and how they take advantage of senior citizens.

When I first went to Aspen Dental I was quoted a total price of $6936 with a copay of $2015.60 which I have paid. Final bill is $8238.80 and they say I still owe $2681. They are price gougers. Never go.

I took my daughter to Aspen to get work done on her teeth. They said work needed to be done in addition to what was actually needed. They are rude and talk down to people. My daughter has anxiety and panic episodes. The dentist got rude and made comments to her while she was in treatment room after I was made to leave the room. First through door they pushed a treatment agreement in her face to sign and the cost of treatment changed. When I ask questions the attitude comes out. We paid out of pocket for her treatment. The one worker from another office told us about help to sign up for a plan through a insurance. When I called back to inform the office I got it the rude from desk worker came off with "oh through the state" like she was told no I purchased the recommended plan from your office. My daughter is 21. I would dread to think if she went alone there what would have been pulled on her. Very costly and very comfortable rude experience.

Can A dentist take their client's phone away meaning (confiscate) people's phone. My name is Samuel **. Age 21 of Crossville TN. My opinion, However, I experienced this situation at Aspen dental in Crossville. I was in pre op for a tooth to be pulled which was $200.00 and I was treated like a child there and they at first gave me a verbal warning and then this lady named Brittany came in and confiscated my phone from me because I was on it texting my parents and my boss. I do not work at aspen dental which means I don't have to follow their cellphone policy. And I'm just a client there.

Anyway I would certainly hate to see anyone get treated like I did. A doctor is not a police officer or judge and can't issue warrants so they can't just confiscate people's phones like they did to me today 8-13-20. And I would like to get my money back based on poor treatment by this facility. Aspen Dental in Crossville Tennessee. I also have time frames and dates of when this happened specifically.

I was in the dentist office for an unrelated matter. I had been having a sensitive tooth when I was brushing. I asked the dentist to take a look. He had me sent for X-rays and after looking at them he said try using Sensodyne. My next visit they had tacked on $166 to my bill. I have since left.

Thanks for a chance to review and share. 45 days-ago I had a morning appointment that took far too long for the free initial exam and x-rays. The initial staff greeter was adequate and the lady taking x-rays was fun to visit with. The wait was quite lengthy even though I had a 1st appointment since many others had a 1st one too it seemed! The dentist was not wearing a COVID-19 or any kind of mask during the exam and walking the halls. His exam was super-fast and then I had a long 25-minute wait for a "cost estimate" which was to $50k remove all teeth for full dentures/implants - and/or some $4k+ bridge work/$1800 deep cleaning. The estimate lady claimed all teeth had some degree of infection, which is not the case since my regular dentist cares for me 2x/year.

I thought Aspen was worth checking out as a lower cost volume dental business model. I got a regional manager, Joshua ** follow-up email to discuss Aspen services but in 40+ days of emails/calls he's been totally evasive and have given up on moving forward with Aspen anything even though that RM may have been able to resolve things. Too bad for them, they lost a customer-patient forever and I see researching them that they have quite a few lawsuits they get involved in. No Thanks Aspen - hope you learn from reviews and survive the pandemic/economic downturn. Best regards and bye-bye.

I recently paid close to $2000.00 for a deposit on a new set of dentures a few weeks ago at the Bluffton, SC office. At that time I was told about a short delay (couple of days) in receiving the final product, but I would receive regular updates. I have yet to have one of the staff members contact me on their own volition. It has been weeks since my impressions have been taken and since anyone has called (I certainly call though); the amazing part is, how they wasted no time cashing my check. When I call, the staff’s attitude has gone from friendly, to overtly ugly and rude. The lies about what I was told are fantastic as well. Unbeknownst to them, come Monday, Aspen will be refunding me in full. Their lack of disrespect and compassion is unfathomable, as I had a front tooth on top break off. It’s humiliating being so young and looking like I do now. The sad part is how they are all aware of this.
