The lack of transparency of the business office was not discovered until months after my initial visit. Continual inadequate explanations regarding slow healing, procedures, and costs, and significant issues with dental prosthetics provided. On several occasions I was forced to wait in an uncomfortable dental chair for hours with no one even checking on me. Instances when information regarding the treatment process were not made clear or apparent, staff would come and go not stating what to expect next. When signing treatment agreement I felt rushed, pressured to apply for credit to pay for a treatment that was entirely out of my affordability. Denture prices themselves, being reasonable, because that is all the refund you can possibly get returned with the money back guarantee, less the partials.
Meanwhile, I spent $7,000 for just for extractions and follow up care. The warranty specifics are misleading. I was told afterwards there is no warranty or moneyback guarantee on my broken partial I was told to wait until the permanent dentures were made so they would match. You discontinued the Comfilytes brand 3 months before my permanent dentures, without informing me. So now I don't get what I was signed a contract for. So how did that affect my 7 year denture warranty?. NEVER were an additional cost associated with the permanent lower partial mentioned until they suggested a mesh wire in the platex that would cost more. I refused, absolutely and quickly.
I asked to purchase the entire upper and bottoms and chose to pay for it all upfront. Due to the issues, it created so much lack of confidence in your business practices. I was unable to get reliable, timely care. Unclear explanations regarding the process for fitting dentures and partials were insufficient, leading to misunderstandings and dissatisfaction.
The dentures provided were ill-fitting, after multiple fittings, and numerous visits, the bite was continually off and the denture was so loose they freely fell from my mouth. The partial has broken twice, indicating poor quality or improper fitting, the opportunity to rectify it was dismissed. The final upper denture created was a different gum color and tooth appearance than I desired, was ill-fitted, and a suggested reline was recommended to tighten the fit.
It has been made clear I am not even able to TRY on the final set until I signed for them and they wanted me to pay over 1400 dollars for the lower partial, I was supposedly not previously billed for, even though payment on full was charge to my credit card. I was notified of this additional cost the same day I was went to get my permanent set. I was assured I had chosen the best and paid in full for "the top of the line" ComfiLytes upper and lower partial permanent dentures, extractions, sedation, immediate set, and inclusive with adjustments reline, and all aftercare. 100% money-back guarantee, with a 7-year warranty. So, instead of doing the right thing, offer me a 2,000 refund. I haven't had useable teeth for 9 months!
I have a misfitted, falling out set of dentures. A partial that was ill-fitting and broke, then repaired by thinning the area of the break to repair only to break again. Then I was informed there is no warranty on the partial. I quote, "The information you were provided was for the dentures, not partial". I feel this entire experience has affected my social life, marriage and personal confidence.

I was given a print out of the cost of the work to be done. After a year, I was sent a bill stating that I owed almost an additional $2,000.00. I called the main number and was treated like a criminal when asking about this billing. I am going to submit this to the BBB as well as the AG.

I would stay clear of Aspen Dental if at all possible. I recently went through having teeth pulled and got dentures only after going over what insurance would pay and what I would have to pay with care credit to make sure I could afford it as I am retired and on a fixed income. So after many questions and concerns which I was told by aspen's staff that they knew what insurance covered and did not because they wok with them every day and even showed me on paper what they paid so I applied for care credit and was approved.
Got he work done and had a great Dentist and staff do the work and was going in for the check ups until a couple of months later when I was hit with a surprise bill of almost three thousand dollars more after insurance and care credit and that the initial loan and bill to insurance was only an estimate but asked who would sign up for any work to be done knowing they could randomly charged thousands extra at any time? Defies logic! I called my insurance company to see why these things were not covered and was told that if aspen's employee would have followed the proper procedure this mistake would have never happened and that they were launching an investigation for deceptive practice. When I told aspen about the investigation they said they were doing one themselves and would get back to me which resulted in no return call and a month later a letter because they turned me into a collection agency.

Updated on 04/03/2026: I went to Aspen Dental in Selma Texas. I got the more expensive dentures. Teeth have fallen out of both top and bottom dentures. Calling the advocacy board is useless. They keep saying the issue has been resolved. I have heard nothing from this dental center, and nothing has been resolved. I don't know about other offices but I would suggest avoiding the one in Selma Texas.
Original Review: I bought the more expensive upper and lower dentures. Within weeks a front tooth fell out of the upper. I had to wait 4 days for a repair. A few weeks later a front tooth fell out of the bottom dentures and again I had to wait days for a repair. I asked for a completely new pair but they would only replace the upper. When I called to speak to Dr. ** her staff told me she does not return calls, and I would have to drive to the office to speak to her. I paid a lot of money and do not feel I have quality dentures. I would never recommend this office to anyone.

I went for cleaning. They said I needed route planning. I didn't know what it was. Which is for people that have teeth that are rotting below the gum line which I did not have. They did. The route planning did not put the sealer in and now all my teeth are rotting at the bone. And there's nothing that dentists can do but remove them. Aspen Dental destroyed my mouth, destroyed my teeth and it caused me a great amount of pain. Stay away.

I had my teeth pulled and post put in 2 years ago. The dentist quit and left the job unfinished. The dentures are poorly made and I keep losing teeth. I have had 4 teeth fall out over the last 2 years. I have been passed from one place to another because of lack of staff. The last dentist was very good but the quality of material they use is the problem. I have worn dentures for years and never had this many problems. I purchased the top package so at least I have a few years left. But the way it's going, that will run out before my teeth.

I will never visit Aspen Dental again!! I was in pain before I visited and now I'm in even more pain, and incredibly frustrated by the unprofessionalism and poor customer service I received today. I made an appointment in the morning because I had an infection and had a tooth extracted. Their team prescribed two medications and as of the end of the day, CVS still has only received 1 of them. I called the office two hours after being seen and the front staff said they didn't send the medication, to give them an hour to check with the dr. I called back an hour and a half later and they said they were working on it. I called CVS to see if they received the order and again, they had not.
I call back their office and asked to speak with a manager. I was put on hold and then transferred to a number that just rang and no one picked up. I tried their office again and was put on hold and then hung up on. I reached out to their corporate number on their website, (844) 296-0187. The person I contacted tried to reach out to their office and couldn't get ahold of anyone. I was then transferred to their national emergency line. I explained the situation and they said would make sure my prescription would get sent.
Magically, one of my prescriptions showed up in my CVS app. I then received a call from Dr **. She said that she sent my prescription to CVS twice and that CVS might be out of stock, and then good bye. No apologies, no asking how I am doing. Just the bare minimum to say they "followed up". Shout out to Terrance, the dental assistant. He was great.

I talked to several Dental services in my area and decided on Aspen Dental in Springfield, Oregon. They were very informative on what was needed for me after X rays. The cost was upfront for every step. I needed a full upper denture and a bottom partial. The dentist, Lawson MCD, was very easy to talk to and answered all my concerns. He made the extractions with very little pain, making sure I was comfortable. I now have great looking teeth, my speech is much clearer, face fuller and hopefully I can try eating solids soon. Thank you Aspen Dental and Dr **, very much appreciated.

STAY AWAY!!! I had a disappointing experience with this dentist's office 8 months ago regarding insurance coverage, and yes, still dealing with it. Before scheduling my appointment, I made sure to confirm with them multiple times that they accepted my insurance. I confirmed again at the appointment and even afterward, just to be safe. However, a few hours after my visit, I received a call informing me that they were no longer in-network and that I was now responsible for the full cost of the service.
I objected immediately, pointing out that I had explicitly verified this information with them multiple times, but they admitted it was an oversight on their part. Despite their mistake, they insisted I pay for the $200 cleaning, and when I refused, they sent me to collections and now want $240. This has been an extremely frustrating and unfair experience. I expected a higher level of professionalism and accountability. Be careful when dealing with them—they will give you a false sense of security and then slap you with the bill.

Was a very pleasant experience with Aspen Dental, the dentist and his assistant were excellent, made me feel real comfortable. Would highly recommend!! But the secretaries could use a little bit of training and customer service told me if I had any issues, I could come in and get it taken care of. I called today with issues with my teeth, told me they couldn’t get me in for three days, told them it was kind of emergency. Still wouldn’t help me. Now I have to cancel my plans because I’m in pain and discomfort but she seem to not care. Hopefully, this gets resolved and they get the proper training they need. Other than that, everything else was great!

Aspen Dental in Augusta Maine. The staff including the financial lady are so rude and contradicting. They sent me to a debt collection for $390.00 and never sent me a bill. I called my insurance and my insurance covers it 100%, Aspen Dental didn't submit a claim and they said they did. Aspen is poorly run, they pressure you to get a care credit and don't give you time to think about your finances. They will not send or email a detailed quote for services. They say you have to go in person to the financial lady but you can't make an appointment with her. You have to call to see if she's in then go sit and wait to see if she will talk with you about their quote. You could sit and wait all day with taking the chance of her not talking to you. They are so unprofessional, won't give detailed quotes but charge a tremendous amount of money. They did with my husband and my brother. They do not like it when they are questioned about amounts.

It felt like I was buying a car. I got a second opinion from another dentist and he stated that I was improperly diagnosed and when I requested for my records to be sent from Aspen to my new dental office they have yet to complete this even though I have filled out paperwork etc and still nothing. I have been in a nightmare with Aspen Dental for 8 long months. I am currently, finally, seeing another dental practice. After all this time, I have no teeth. I am told that I need to have surgery and that without it, dentures will never fit me. I can’t even consult an oral surgeon for over 2 months and have lost 50 pounds because I cannot eat. I’m 71 years old.
Some of the issues I have faced are (1) They made me a full lower plate instead of a partial. (2) They made my lower plate the wrong color. (3) They made my upper plate buck teeth. (4) They made my upper plate the wrong number and size teeth. (5) I paid $7200.00 and they will only refund me $3000.00 and I have no teeth. (6) I now have to pay $5000.00 for teeth, plus pay an oral surgeon. (6) I have 2 teeth on lower and new dentist tells me I have a cavity that Aspen never mentioned.
I basically had to pay $4200.00 to have my teeth pulled. I had to make 20 trips to address these issues, all these are separate issues. This has affected me negatively in many ways. I am depressed. I am now ashamed to go out in public. I am totally stressed out about paying for this as I have no insurance and I need the surgery and wonder how long I can go losing weight as I have.
The only good thing I can say is the local office people were very nice, because they knew how awful all this was for me. Their corporate office doesn’t care. How could they keep that much of my money. All that $$$$ just to pull my teeth. They are a ripoff. I am consulting with attorneys now. I do have receipts, recordings, and photos.

The new office manager realized this and tried to make things right. I was called and offered free partial and crown because this wasn’t my fault and they knew that. Now only to be in collections because their office clearly don’t know how to maintain anything correctly. To make matters worse, the crown is some lousy work. Do not go here. I tried to talk with the regional manager and she has stopped communicating with me. I will never use them again and strongly hope anyone who does, to go over EVERY charge in detail with staff BEFORE they accept any service. I was not informed of any part of my bill until after the services and did not understand what they charged me for. I only went in for partials and they talked me into a cleaning then they billed me for deep cleaning services they did not provide. They charged me over $1000 for cleaning my teeth which took 15 minutes. That isn’t even the cost of what they sent my insurance. I just had my teeth cleaned 5 months prior (by another dentist) and was only going to Aspen to get partials.

I thought I had found a good dentist to rely on at Aspen Dental but, unfortunately, I can no longer depend on him or his staff. My disappointment came when my personal dentist at this facility would not respond to a letter I sent addressed to him (Attention: Dr. **) to ask about a $633 charge, nor did any member of his staff respond (I actually sent two letters). I had spoken to someone in the office and she told me she would refile the claim. So I didn't pay immediately. Insurance denied it, which I knew it would, so I wanted to speak to Dr. ** about it. He never responded. When I turned up a couple of weeks later for my routine check-up, the staff denied my visit and told me I have to pay the charge before Dr. ** would see me again. Now, I always pay my bills, even if its on a payment plan, but I wanted to talk to Dr. ** about this particular charge because I was trying to avoid it.
Because he left the examining room after I asked about insurance paying for this charge (I assume) to check with the insurance person at the desk, I thought he had verified that the procedure would be covered. It's a $633 misunderstanding, which I am paying off at $50 a month. Herein lies my problem with Aspen: it is run like a business rather than a healthcare facility. The most offensive part is their refusal to see me for my check-up and cleaning (which is 100 per cent covered - no charges would have been incurred). I must have healthcare providers that answer my letters or phone calls. I cannot be thought of as such an insignificant patient that neither doctor or staff can take the time to answer my questions. In retrospect, although Dr. ** is excellent in every way (except communication), the front desk has always been difficult. Snooty and uncaring. I guess that's what you get when healthcare becomes a business just like any other.

I had severe tooth decay between my teeth that the only solution was to remove all my teeth (20) and replace them with dentures. On 27 Jan 2025, I visited Aspen Dental Yulee, Fl for a x-ray and dental exam. The dentist told me all my teeth had to be removed and agreed on dentures. After meeting with the dentist, I was told to see the business manager for the cost. The dental plan was over $12,000. I told the business manager that I could not afford that amount.
The dental plan had no value for discount coupon, despite their website advertisement stating 25% off dentures. I asked if they had senior citizen discount or veteran discount, and the answer was no. My insurance would pay $2500 and she applied an insurance discount of over $6000, leaving a balance over $3500. I still said that I am on a fixed income and did not have the money. She said do not worry, she had applied for Credit Card and they will loan the me $3000 at $88 per month for 3 years. I had been in a lot of pain in the last month and this looked like the best deal. I paid the balance with my debit card and my dental plan had a balance of zero.
Two days later, I had my teeth extracted and was fitted with temporary dentures. I went home and several hours later, the Novocain wore off, the dentures rubbed against my gum and caused pain that I had to take the dentures. My gums were swollen, still bleeding and had either bone or tooth protruding through the gum in several location. I waited a week to go back for the free adjustment but was told that I owed an additional $3178 and I could not get the adjustments unless the balance was paid in full. I did not have the money for this surprise bill and left the office. I have tried several times to talk with the business manager by phone and in person but she has not been available, returned my phone calls, not set an appointment to discuss the outstanding balance. In March, I received a Summary of Activity stating I owed $3178 and this was the final notice.
I did not know what to do. How can Aspen Dental charge me when I have a dental plan that showed a zero balance. The bill I received did not match the amounts as listed in the dental plan. Upon a detail inspector of the dental plan, I was charged $800 each for top and lower dentures to upgrade from classic to signature dentures. This was not explained in detail when the dental plan was presented. I found out later that the basic dentures upper and lower, each cost at Aspen Dental was $452 but I was quoted the basic dentures, upper and lower, each were $1749. Classic dentures on Aspen Dental website was being offered at a 25% discount and so was the signature dentures. But no such discount included my dental plan.
Also, I was billed for a tooth extraction for tooth that was a post and crown. I am sure the cost to remove the crown is not the same as a tooth extraction. I realize now that I had been duped into signing a dental plan that had a zero balance, only to charge me an additional $3,178 after all my teeth had been extracted. I think this is a unfair business practice, is illegal. As of today, I cannot wear the dentures, I still have round white bumps on my gums with either bone or tooth protruding. I used all my insurance, dental insurance for 2025 and have to wait until next year to find a dentist to determine the damage that was done to my gums and to be fitted with new pair of dentures.

Aspen Dental here in Roseburg, Oregon has a outstanding Dentist, Dr. O. However, his staff not so much. Aspen Dental had billed the insurance company for a crown replacement. I paid the required co-pay and the work proceeded. A temporary crown was placed while the permanent crown was being designed and made. I was asked to come in when completed for the fitting. I was informed at the front desk by the manager of the office that I had owed an additional $98 due to an error in billing. I replied that I had agreed to my co-pay originally and now through an error on their part I was supposedly now obligated to pay the additional money.
I was kept waiting for over an hour in the dental chair as Dr. O had a patient that required quite a bit of additional time, and I understand these things happen, however they told me the charges were the result of inaccurate billing, not really caring that I was the one inconvenienced. I had even asked about having a "Veterans Discount" but do to the billing process with "Regence" if a discount could be applied, they would reduce that amount in "New billing" so any discount would be null and void. What about just acknowledging an error was made, and "Aspen Dental" will just take care of it, you know on their end of the transaction and out of "their profit" on a very expensive and profitable piece of dental work. You know its "nice to be important, but more important to be nice".
I have no issue with Dr. O and by the way he is leaving Aspen Dental for his own practice in the state of Washington, no doubt he is a little upset with their practices I would assume also. I would never go back to Aspen Dental and my friends and family if I can help it, will never be referred to there by me. When you are in charge of the front office, your most important job is insuring a comfortable experience where the customer feels special and well taken care of.
Just because you are in charge you shouldn't take advantage of your position just because you "can". You can learn to be kind and make an attempt to "try" to help as best you can. In this case, the amount of "$98 is trivial and should be the cost of doing business to prevent "scathing" reviews. How many potential patients will now never go to Aspen Dental, how much business will they lose because of their arrogance?

I had so much dental work to be performed and they think they are entitled to payment before procedures are even scheduled. I spoke with some woman from Corporate and she was just as arrogant as the office manager. All my procedures have been cancelled and I will never do business with them ever again and neither will any of my family or friends. If anyone is thinking of doing business I would reconsider with another dental company. Not sure how they can stay in business, it's not like they have good pricing or anything.

A month after the procedure I get a bill for $2583. When I called they tell me my insurance only covered a $1000 dollars. I tried to explain what they told me. They pretty much said, "Too bad." All they were interested in was selling me dentures, I'm thinking 10,000 maybe, $54,000 they wanted, I don’t have anything bad just a couple teeth that need fixing, stay as far away from these thieves as you possibly can, I'm surprised it's not a nationwide lawsuit they have going against them. Wilkes Barre PA location: I went in for a scheduled filling, and an assistant, not a dentist, filled my tooth. It felt large and uncomfortable. Dr. ** said it needed to be redone and fixed it. Next, I needed a mouth guard. The assistant placed the tray in my mouth but held it in her hand the whole time with a fully outstretched arm which she kept moving as she looked away tapping on her phone repeatedly. After exactly one minute, (which she timed) she removed the tray, which wasn’t set. This happened four times, and it was still wet on the last try. At this point I was frustrated but still said nothing.
Finally, a staff member came in to schedule my next filling. I’d waited over a year for this filling-bonding, and after showing her multiple times, the lady said the doctor said it was #5 tooth, (which indeed it is not). She then said she is not a clinician and walked out. The doctor then entered and told me "I don't have time for this today." I had no idea what was happening. I did not ask the lady to have it done that day.
I respected this practice, but this incident and poor communication left me embarrassed, insulted, and disrespected; as if I annoyed them. After investing $14,000 in cash, trust, loyalty, and commitment for over a year; I’m left with an incomplete treatment plan that I paid in full. I am deeply offended for not being heard. I was a very dedicated patient and followed all recommended care. This is how I was treated. It may indicate how you will be treated. The practice is hiring inexperienced people to handle overbooked appointments. The DR. is doing double work fixing their mistakes. It frustrates him and patients suffer.

Six years ago, during the height of COVID, I was supposedly diagnosed with periodontal disease and was denied a routine cleaning covered by my insurance. Instead, they insisted I needed a deep cleaning, which was not covered and would cost me around $1,000.
Recently, I called to schedule a regular cleaning because my current dentist was fully booked, but they still refused to schedule me for a standard cleaning. They claimed I needed a full evaluation first to determine the “care needed.” This is highly frustrating and feels like an attempt to upsell unnecessary procedures rather than provide basic dental care. Their policies seem designed to prioritize profit over patient care, and I do not feel they have my best interests in mind. I cannot recommend this office to anyone looking for ethical and patient-centered dental services.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Aspen Dental in Olean was nothing short of a complete waste of time and an obvious money grab. I originally scheduled an appointment months ago to have a filling replaced. The soonest they could get me in was six weeks out, which was frustrating but understandable. However, two weeks before my appointment, they canceled on me. I rescheduled—this time for two fillings—and waited another three weeks for that appointment. When I finally arrived, the hygienist informed me they would only be doing ONE filling—something they conveniently failed to mention when I made the appointment. I explained that I needed both fillings replaced, and they were right next to each other. She left the room, came back, and took an unnecessary X-ray, which felt like a stall tactic.
Then the dentist came in and, instead of actually doing his job, asked which “area” I’d like him to look at today. I repeated that I needed both fillings replaced, and he flat-out refused, stating they only look at one area per visit—and worse, he wasn’t going to fix anything that day. Just “look.” At that point, I got up and walked out. This place is running a complete racket. It’s not about the money—I have excellent insurance that covers everything 100%. It’s about the principle and their total disregard for my time and comfort just to maximize their profits. They intentionally drag out treatment to squeeze more out of insurance companies and waste patients’ time in the process. Avoid this place at all costs. Go to a real dentist who actually values their patients instead of treating them like a paycheck.

The blood was gushing out of his mouth. I took him back about an hour after his surgery, they said there was no reason on why there was so much blood.
Ended up taking him to the ER, they automatically put him in a room due to the blood, they thought he got shot in the mouth. It took 3 treatments and 2 pain medicines to get the bleeding to slow down, they at first thought they never stitched him up after the surgery and they found a hole in the back of his jaw. Then the temp dentures that he has to keep using a vacation day for still don't fit and after a month he has not been able to eat solid food or wear the temp dentures. Negative -10 stars, my husband back in 2012 was having dentures and teeth extracted, we had done sort of insurance but we ended up with care credit for the rest of the cost. Our original dentist was sick the day of extractions and putting temp dentures in, here’s the original problem, when our dentist was sick there was what we assumed was an oral surgeon since she was the only one dressed like that, they made me stay in waiting room, 2 1/2 hours later this dentist says she can’t remove the bottom teeth, I go back there they're blood pouring out of his mouth, I told her to put stitches in, her condescending we don’t do that, she was snickering with a tech in the hallway and I got mad steaming mad, grand traverse oral surgery did the bottom, took the surgeon 30 minutes with stitches to remove bottom teeth.
I found out that the dentist that butchered his mouth on the top had never pulled teeth before, she quartered his teeth, after a week, he thought he was dying, took him to our doctor come to find out his whole top of his mouth had bone exposed, called Aspen, our regular dentist stayed over after hours and was crying tears over what that dentist did to his mouth, she ended up having to slice his gums and remove bone to get his mouth sewed up, she apologized for what he went thru, needless to say his mouth is now misshapen up top and the dentures would not stay in.
It was when we got his records, all of a sudden our dentist had been transferred to Georgia, we lawyered up, Aspen ended up paying for dental implants (2) to make the dentures fit, they had to put bone grafts in the top of his mouth to put the (2) implants in! It still ended up costing us 10 grand but he could actually eat again after 9 months of hell with Aspen,
Fast forward to today, they have completely changed that office to DEI hires, nobody does anything but 1 thing they have 5 people behind the counter and their combined IQ is less than 100, the post on the top of the denture came out, needed it glued back in, they made a huge deal like we would have to see a dentist and mouth impression for a post (it’s a small tiny round piece) I had it with me, they're going to argue about it, I told them they were guaranteed, they said they don’t do that, I told them yes they did. Also when they pulled the teeth on top, they gave him a script for penicillin (big red letters on his chart) allergic to **, the pharmacist caught it. Still have that script. They are vile and disgusting, ripping off seniors Shame Shame, shame🤬🤬🤬🤬

We recently visited Aspen on 1/31/2025. Staff was okay. We had appointment to have a tooth extracted and was there over a hour and a half only to learn that it could not be done. This was after xrays was done and a suppose to be plan. My complaint is that with the right question asked it should have been told to us with about 30 minutes that the procedure could not be done. We learned that because he had dialysis today and not getting information from his doctor if there are any risk only a hour and a half later that the tooth would not be extracted. Yet it took no time for us to get the cost and they would help us with a plan for it if we could not pay. Well we happy to hear that but we were there for a procedure which could not be done after an hour and a half of wasted time. Not sure if I would return there after this. Need improvement of time in giving diagnosis.

People write negative reviews to warn customers of this company's practices. Months after getting service, they billed me for an insurance "discount", not a benefit, that the insurance company claimed, they don't offer any such discount, They also billed me for a "new patient" free service that they claimed to offer at the time of service. Scheduled an appointment for a dental exam and x-rays. I'm having a left hip replaced and the surgeon recommended I get an exam to make sure there were no hidden abscesses. It's been 33 years since I've seen a dentist because the last one I saw caused two molars to shatter after replacing fillings. I've had the broken teeth for over 30 years with no issues and during that time have had 7 different surgeries, including my right hip replacement less than a year ago. The dentist was very condescending with me and told me he would not clear me for surgery until I had the retained root tips removed from the broken teeth. Mind you, they never hurt, have been that way over 30 years and were never an issue before.
By the time they were done writing up everything they expected me to do it had blossomed from simply removing the root tips into almost $7000 worth of services. I completely felt like I was being blackmailed by the dentist to commit to thousands of dollars in services in order to get a clearance for a critical surgery. Thankfully, my surgeon isn't requiring a clearance but only suggested the exam and this money hungry charlatan was unable hold my surgery hostage and extort me for thousands of dollars.

I had a terrible experience at Aspen Dental in Fall River, MA and want to warn others. I scheduled a routine cleaning after confirming my insurance was accepted, but when I arrived, they refused to do the cleaning and instead pushed me into unnecessary, expensive procedures.
🔹 Unnecessary X-Rays – They required x-rays but didn’t inform me it would count as my one covered x-ray for the year, preventing me from seeking care elsewhere unless I paid out of pocket.
🔹 False Diagnosis & Sales Pressure – I have excellent oral hygiene, yet they falsely claimed I had severe gum disease and pressured me into costly procedures and a payment plan.
🔹 Emotional Distress – I left in tears, feeling manipulated and deceived. Their office manager even admitted they failed to set proper expectations but refused to take responsibility.
Aspen Dental has a history of deceptive practices, including a $3.5 million lawsuit settlement in Massachusetts, yet they continue to mislead patients. I had to take time off work for this two-hour nightmare and strongly urge others to avoid Aspen Dental.

They did the complete deep scale scam you read about in most reviews, I also had 4 small fillings in front from teeth rubbing. Not real fillings just a little paste on the backside. All guaranteed, they said, I went in to have one filled that fell out, they said it wasn’t covered under warranty anymore, and billed me after they filled it, after the fact, originally I had 4 appointments for deep scaling. I went to three appointments but ironically they called me back in for another deep scaling just one month after my last appointment and my gums were still swollen and tender, I said it’s too soon, they said it’s ok, I refused, and didn’t go back until the superficial filling fell out. They were damaging my gums. They never cleaned my teeth as I wanted only cleaning below the gums.
So, they do not clean teeth period, that’s what I originally went in for, instead they make you pay for deep scaling as I did permanently, they told me you need deep scaling for another year or 2, again my teeth were never polished or cleaned, only scaled beneath the gums, they refused to fix the filling that fell out, and they destroyed a front tooth that they said had a cavity below the gum line by using silver nitrate, the tooth is now black but ironically it’s still alive, when I went in recently to get the repair filling they first claimed they didn’t do anything and I must have used another dentist, until I started fighting the bill for repairing their work, they said they are going to charge me to figure out what happened to my front tooth and they finally claim they did it.
I was given the extensive x-rays which took an hour or more I never asked for, I had no cavities, no swollen gums, but they claimed I need the deep scaling again, that I have bad peritonitis, I do not, that’s a lie. Said I need multiple crowns because of my bad gum disease, but they only need cleaning, no swollen gums no cavities, their proposal to fix the nothing wrong with me was almost $20,000. Even, after my Medicare advantage deductible, they said only $17,000. Upfront payments, again to clean my teeth and fix their failed filling? I literally laughed them out of the room and left, only after I explained to them I had to go to my doctor and get an antibiotic and take it before coming to get the cleaning they never did, which costs me time and money, they should’ve told me they would not clean my teeth, but I assumed they would fix my filling.
Now I’m fighting over a bill originally for $350.00 to refill a surface filling, that took less than 5 minutes in the chair and out. The bill also lists equipment they never used like forms, etc. so the bill has fraudulent entries. They also had my insurance to be able to give me an estimate, now they dropped the final amount to $150. But they have never filed insurance for this and my insurance will pay for fillings, I simply want them to file a claim for the repair filling to my insurance but they are threatening collections instead of using the insurance? So I’m fighting these same people, mostly on principle, because I feel they are a shady bunch that’s just milking me and not doing anything and something needs to be done to stop this, I for one will not tolerate this, it’s wrong and blatantly illegal, and they have permanently damaged my entire mouth.
I may pay the small bill because they are not giving up on taking me for whatever they can get, be warned they continue to take money from me for services not rendered that were warranted not honored, and for lying to me about even doing the services and for wasting my time, damaging my teeth and gums, just to make a buck. I suffer permanent tooth and gum damages.

She proceeded to scold me over and over and told me I'm worse than a child (I'm 40 years old). She was so rough with the thing that you hold in your mouth that by the time I was done, I was literally crying.
Next I was taken into a room where a dentist came in and asked me about my pain in my left side and proceeded to tell me I needed a deep cleaning, two root canals with crowns and a tooth extraction. She tried to leave the room but I stopped her because I had a piece of broken tooth wiggling in my mouth. She told me to take ** and left. A hygienist came in next and proceeded to do some fun measurements on me and told me I needed some special treatment before and work could be done.
Next the office manager came in and told me that with insurance I would only owe $6,000 for everything. I repeatedly said I had a family dentist and I was only there for an emergency. She repeatedly told me I should do my cleaning that day because the hygienist was off the rest of the year. Thank goodness I adamantly refused because I'm seeing now they charge thousands for cleanings. By the time I left, my gums were inflamed from the x-rays, I owed $700 because they did a type of x-ray not covered by insurance and charged me for the "treatment plan." Today my gums are so sore I can barely eat without pain. I will never step foot in an Aspen again and I'll make sure no one I care about ever does!

Aspen Dental Happy Vally OR, referred me to Aspen Dental Springfield OR. As a hospital phlebotomist and my wife as a nurse working in critical care, we understand the vital importance of patient care and effective communication in a medical setting. Unfortunately, our recent experience at Aspen Dental of Springfield in Oregon fell far short of these standards. We pre-paid for a molar extraction procedure due to significant pain I was experiencing. Upon arrival, I submitted all necessary paperwork and communicated my anxiety about the procedure to the staff, who assured me that my concerns would be addressed.
However, when the oral surgeon entered the room, he began to prepare my arm for an IV without my consent. I had specifically requested that the medical assistant place the IV in my largest vein, as I have scar tissue from frequent blood draws for my thyroid condition. When I politely reiterated my preference, the surgeon responded dismissively, repeatedly stating, "Don't tell me how to do my job." This lack of communication and respect made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe.
Despite my visible distress, he continued to mock my concerns. I requested to speak with the office manager, but her response was equally unprofessional; she showed little empathy and failed to provide the support I needed during a difficult moment. Ultimately, I asked for a refund, which was handled poorly and without the necessary professionalism. The manager struggled to process my request and provided me with a note that lacked confirmation details.
Given our backgrounds in healthcare, we were profoundly disappointed by the lack of patient-centered care at this office. I cannot recommend Aspen Dental, especially for vulnerable populations such as children or the elderly. It is concerning to consider how patients who may not be able to advocate for themselves are treated here. We urge others to seek dental care elsewhere.

The first time I visited, I did not have dental insurance and knew that it was going to cost me. I took out a loan and they did the work. However, a year later I went back to get the work that I still needed done and let them know that I now have insurance and asked if they were in my network. They told me that they were in my network (Delta Dental PPO). However, I started receiving messages about owing them money and decided to call my insurance because this couldn't be right as I had $1,500 through my insurance and an additional $2,200 of care credit that should have covered the work.
My insurance informed me that they lied and were not in the network, which is why they are charging me so much. But they even go a step further in their lie. I went into the office today and got a printout of what was owed and has already been paid. On this printout, there is a category for in-network discounts where it shows some discounts that I have been given. Nothing significant, but it made me believe that they were in my network like they said and that my insurance had to be messing up. It turns out, no, they are completely lying and doing this to fool people. I am sharing this because I do not want it to happen to anyone else. Everyone was nice. Then I was told by the office manager that he contacted my insurance by fax and I waited for a little while and he said he would contact me instead of my waiting. It's been two weeks since my first appt and nothing. I called several times and I kept getting cut off. So now I have to go thru the whole procedure again with another dentist. Very disappointed.

I went to Aspen (45211) to get a filling. Several days later I had an abscess and they refused to give me antibiotics until I came back in. They said they couldn’t get me in for another week, meanwhile my face is swollen and I’m in pain. I got antibiotics from my primary care doctor. A few months later I went back in because the tooth was still bothering me. The X-ray showed that my roots were severely damaged due to the filling going too deep. So now I’m told the tooth needs to be removed and I’ll need to get an implant since it’s near the front of my mouth. They then informed me it would cost $2400+ to have this procedure done on a tooth they damaged!! Absolutely ridiculous!

I had a horrible experience with Aspen Dental in Latham, NY. They were provided my insurance information a week in advance and inquired with them over the phone if the authorization through insurance went through and they stated yes, no co-pay. Keep in mind on their website they advertise they accept my insurance as well. I arrive at my appointment early to check-in and they advised me that my insurance is not active so make me call myself while I have a line of people behind me just to confirm my insurance was active. Then they stated I lost my appointment slot as it was getting later and then proceed to have me wait for a later time just to tell me they don't take my insurance and will have to pay a 250 payment for my visit. All of this could have been handled over the phone days prior.
I drove over an hour to get there and took a half a day off at work to be given the runaround. This place is very unprofessional, and they lack courtesy, common sense and empathy. The lady behind the front desk with the chipped nail polish was laughing as if it was funny. Well, the last laugh is I went elsewhere, and they will probably do a better job and be more professional. I not only will never return but I will recommend others go elsewhere.

I was having a difficult time finding a dentist after Covid since my regular dentist stopped taking my insurance. I rolled the dice, and went to Aspen Dental. The only time I can remember the “same sales pitch” was when I bought a new car and they send you to the “finance” guy. Only this time it was a finance woman. She quoted me an astounding $9000 for the treatment they determined I needed. I don’t argue that I needed to see a dentist, mainly for a deep cleaning, but this was unreal. They told me I have periodontal disease, I don’t. I declined treatment and she quickly brought the quote down to $2000+. I still didn’t accept. She finally brought it under $600 and I accepted foolishly and went to regret it. I did a crown replacement and a cleaning. My cleaning was over $300.00 and my dental insurance apparently would not cover their “deep cleaning”.
After making another $125 payment under the distant pacing watch of the same finance manager, (she seemed to be everywhere money was being handed over) they scheduled me for a follow up where I would be charged AGAIN. I cancelled my next appointment but actually was curious after I spoke with their “manager” and told them I did not like all the additional charges. They would not let me make a new appointment, nor did I want to. I hope this place gets the notice of the NMAG’s office before others go through the same awful process. This place functions solely under the love of the $$$. They must have a very high overhead and a lousy financial approach in dealing with new patients.

I was in contact with your Lockport location and was given a "fill in" office manager regarding an issue yesterday at your Lockport NY location. I had made an appointment a couple weeks ago for 11-4-2024 at 4 pm. I was contacted by the office on Friday 11-1-2024 at 12:08 pm and the call was 2 in and 36 sec long where the girl on the phone look my insurance information and confirmed everything for my Monday appointment. I received a text on Thursday at 12:07 pm to confirm my appointment. I also got a text message on Sunday at 1:02pm telling me about my appointment at 4pm Monday.
I arrived at 3:50 for my 4pm appointment and was told by the girl at the desk that my appointment was cancelled because my phone number wasn't any good and they couldn't get a hold of me. I told the girl I talked to someone on Friday and I showed her the call on my phone as well as the text message and she said, "Well there is nothing that can be done. It won't allow me to put the appointment back in." I was told they could schedule me for another day. I explained I had to take time off for this one and it took me 2 weeks to get that time off and I'm losing money because I had to take off. She was rude and said there is nothing I can do.
I called and got a fill in manager today and she was able to tell me they talked to me by the notes on the page and they had my insurance information in there. So I'm curious how you can treat a new patient like that. I have waited weeks to get my insurance and get the appointment and now I have to wait longer in pain to get in somewhere else. This is unacceptable and should NEVER happen to anyone. I was told the girl today couldn't do much and I could talk to Aiden when he gets back from vacation.
This is not an acceptable way to run a business, The way it was handled by the girl at the counter was horrible. I'm not sure if they wanted to go home or what but this should not happen. I caught the girl on the counter in 3 lies while I was there so something was not right. I made the appointment at your location in Lockport because it was closer to work so I didn't have to miss so much time.
I will continue to express this HORRIBLE experience all over with as many people as I can. I lost 120.00 in pay yesterday having to leave not to mention the inconvenience of driving there and being treated so poorly. In talking with others this is not the first time this has happened at this location. So now I'm not only out all the time and money I am in horrible pain and have to restart somewhere else. I am DISGUSTED with how I was treated. This was the email I sent to the Regional Jessica ** and here is the classic blow off response. "Hi Kevin, I apologize for this negative experience in the Lockport office. I will follow up with the office and provide the appropriate coaching to the staff around what a new patient experience should look like. I recently visited Aspen Dental (Chelmsford, MA) and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The main issue I encountered was the significant markup on services that simply do not justify the high prices. For instance, they tried to add an electric toothbrush to my total bill that cost $120 (stopped them from charging instantly), and some toothpaste-liked substances branded in fancy names (Topical Fluoride Varnish) for $54, seemingly just to maximize their claim from my Delta PPO dental insurance and, on top of that, charge me more out of pocket. So the total bill of the deep cleaning they CLAIMED is $3658, and my out-of-pocket fee is $1852.
The service itself was mediocre at best. The staff did not take the time to explain procedures thoroughly, and despite undergoing a deep cleaning, my gums continued to swell afterward. I’ve received dental care in Hong Kong, where the prices were a fraction of what I paid here—around 1/10—and the quality of service was vastly superior - no matter in terms of equipment and skills - they were top-notched. And I just don't see any of those here in this Chelmsford, MA branch. I do not recommend Aspen Dental to anyone. It feels like a profit-driven organization that prioritizes its financial gain over patient well-being and health. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of care and consideration for customers. Save your time and money and seek dental care elsewhere.

I went through the process of getting new dentures through Aspen Dental and the overall experience the people were super nice but the end result my dentures did not fit my face at all. I have had them 13 months and they have basically shattered in about five different places. I've only been able to eat mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, soft foods for over a year now. My first set of dentures came from Affordable Dentures and I had at the time due to financial reasons had to get the economy ones which was the cheapest that they offered and they actually lasted me 8 to 9 years and they never had any issues out of them other than a domestic violence situation where I got had gotten hit in the mouth and it actually broke my teeth so that's what led me to go to Aspen Dental to get a new set and to say I was unhappy is putting it mildly.
It has caused me to be depressed. I don't want to leave home. I'm ashamed of my smile now and it's just very disheartening and of course being on fixed income it's hard to save up to get a new set. You know a little over a year after I just purchased the set that I have so I just think that that's something that people should really consider before spending so much money on something and expecting high quality stuff when it's definitely not high quality stuff. As you can see in the photo the bottom teeth you can see where they broke in half and that's one of many breaks.

This place is a scam. My insurance is Medicare Advantage, which has a little bit of dental and a little vision, so I thought it was the right pick for insurance coverage. Medicare Advantage doesn't let you pay out of pocket, and the dentist will get into trouble if they see someone that has Medicare Advantage. When I looked at doctor's offices that take Medicare Advantage the only one in town was Aspen Dental. My original dentist(who is a family dentist that I trusted), stopped taking Medicare Advantage because it was so hard to get the money from Medicare Advantage. I went to Aspen dental, one of my front teeth is a crown and it's breaking. I know I need it replaced. They wanted to replace it with an implant, which probably is what it needs.
They also want to replace all of my upper teeth with implants, my teeth are a little bit wiggly. They wanted to charge me $9,000 dollars just for the replacement of my front tooth. I spoke with the Aspen Dental person that sets up the payment plans. They rush you through the process because you're so emotional with what they just told you about what's wrong your teeth. She set me up with their in house Payment plan, which they will do for anyone that walks in the door. Bad credit? No problem. My credit is fine.
By the time she put in discounts and my insurance it came to about $5,000 which she put on a five year payment plan. Thank God it was the weekend. I had two days to think about it over the weekend. I don't have any bills that I'm paying off at this time. On Saturday I was in such a bad black mood because I set up this payment plan. I couldn't even get out of bed from the stress. They give you 5 days to cancel the contract. I canceled it on Monday. My mood changed to being totally happy. I'm switching to Original Medicare, which doesn't have any dental, but I can pay out of pocket. I'm going to see my regular dentist in January when I change my policy. My front tooth is probably going to break before then, but I'm going to wait and look horrible until January and pay out of pocket. Don't be fooled. All they want is money, and they don't care how they do it. I would give them no stars, but I want people to get see this review.

Updated on 06/22/2025: This place is a rip off. Some years ago they took my money. Messed up my mouth. Try to get resolution for it and did not receive. Years later they sent me a bill. I went to the office in Bluffton South Carolina. The office manager and myself found the bill saying zero balance. Before that someone who used to work in the office told me that the office manager before this one in the dentist was stealing money. They were building people credit cards the ones that had zero balance so we weren't receiving a bill so all of a sudden years later I receive a bill telling me I owe over $2,000. The good thing I keep my receipts. Try to get in touch with the regional manager. Never returned a phone call.
Saw a couple of days ago I went to check on my credit report. They got me on Aspen Dental but they have it under the doctor's name not the company name so the only choice that I have is to speak to a lawyer to see what would be the best solution, I believe I can file a small claims action suit but I will see what the lawyers will advise me to do, those folks in that office Aspen Dental in Bluffton South Carolina is so unprofessional just outright ** that even when you call the office they say, "Hello" and I pause and said, "Is this Aspen Dental?" and they said, "Yes!". This is a horrible practice. Now I'm not saying all Aspen dentist office is like this but I'm saying the one in Bluffton South Carolina is horrible, they put a false report on my credit and I will fight them teeth and nail.
I am giving them two months to remove this off of my report. I have no choice to take legal action and I'm going to continue to report this matter to anyone that has a review. No one should have to go through what I went through. They get zero star but because you have to give something that's the only way this is going to go through but just remember a big fat zero.
Original Review: This is my experience maybe a little over. 2 years ago I decided to get work done on my teeth. Horrible. horrible experience. Not only did the doctor mess my teeth up, the crown kept coming off and they wanted to tell me this was normal and for me to live with it. I got in touch with there general or district Manager, her name is Genise. I will say that she did handle the first situation by reimbursing the fee and having the second work done. I believe that the second work was done at the expense of the company because that what I was told by the office manager who I can say turn out to be a thief.
When I called in a couple of weeks ago to get my partial they told me I had a bill of $2,300. I paid every dime that I owe them. When we did the paperwork it was proven. The office manager at the time was reversing the charge but mine. I paid the cost on my credit card so that mean she was steal and I was still paying the money off on my credit card and they want me to pay $1,600 for my partial when I was telling them, "I don't owe you guys anything. You owe me. I shouldn't have to pay a dime on my partial." The new office manager very sweet lady. Extremely respectful. I felt was sympathetic for me but I'm constantly calling the district manager. no phone call, no nothing. Only thing was told by me by the office manager. They going to look into it and get it correct? That's all she can do, but is it fair to me? And the answer is no.
If the district manager will at least call and reaffirm me of looking into the matter, I probably would have felt better, but she's not doing that. My first impression of her when this first happened. Okay. Someone listen to me but now how you not call the person that have this extreme call that you know they done wrong to. I know I have to take legal action and anyone that knows me. No that's my only option because I can't let this go. I'm losing sleep because of this. It is so disturbing to me because I work hard for what I want and to have someone to literally destroy my mouth.
The first set of partial that I had it was too small. It kept popping out my mouth. I did complain. Did this send off for another one? I got that one. It just seemed like it just wasn't right. I could never eat on it. It just had hurt my mouth so I took it out 2 months later. That was a ramp. They could never get it right. Yes, I probably waited too long. That's because I was looking at other options, but will I tell another human being or will I advise anyone to go to Aspen Dental in Bluffton, South Carolina for the grace of God? No!!!!
In order for this message to go through you have to give it some type of star but it's only one but it's a no star for me. I'm only doing it because that's the only way this can go through but everyone that they have done wrong. If you guys don't want to take a class action suit, I'll do this with the grace of God because I have no choice. I have to get some type of satisfaction out of this so even if I just get enough money to get my partial I'm fine with that. Adios amigo but I have to take some type of legal action because no one is calling me or satisfied my need. So until then I'll go on thing that will post Aspen dental and continue to tell my story even if I got to call WTOC but I have to do something, Yes I'm doing run on sentences because I'm voice texting and I'm not going to proofread.
Went back this Monday because the dental hygienist told me I needed to come in for them to take some exam before they can clean. My teeth goes into the office. Dental hygienist is off that day. Asked me why I'm there and I have the evidence on that of my appointment. The receptionist say, "Let me go find out why you're in here because we do have you scheduled 20-30 minutes later." Still no answer so I walked out the office. Just horrible.

Aspen Dental is the worst dental office I have ever been to. I went into their new office in Frederick, MD, for a regular teeth cleaning, and they told me I had to do a deep cleaning and root scaling procedure instead. They took me to a separate office and sat me in front of an office representative who said I needed that procedure and tried to sell me other unnecessary procedures over $1000.
The representative even said they checked with my insurance and would cover it. I told them I needed more time, but I was told it was urgent and I needed to schedule my appointment for that day or the next day. They made me pay the copay upfront ($162) to secure the root scaling appointment. About a month after the procedure, I received a surprise bill from Aspen Dental for an additional $534.16. I immediately called the dental office billing department and they placed me on hold for hours. Then they told me my insurance refused to cover the bill, so they charged me for it.
I called my insurance, and they said the procedure wasn't covered and that Aspen Dental never contacted them to confirm coverage. I tried negotiating with the dental office and even shared my explanation of benefits, which showed that their fees were higher than the approved amount. The billing representative then said that Aspen only said my insurance MAY cover it - even though the treatment plan they provided before the procedure clearly stated my payment would be nominal, and the rest would be covered by my insurance. Aspen dental pricing needs to be regulated. They operate like a car dealership and will sell you anything, including unnecessary procedures, to make a profit.

It was the push to sign up for loans on this, maxing my Aspen card and all of this hell for something quite honestly my gut instinct is saying this is wrong. The dentist even made a deal where he was willing to do it for $3k that was on my card. Oh hell no. I said I need time to think about this and paid the $29 and got the hell out of there. This whole experience was not about the patient's health and concerns. This was about suckering people out of $23k. Also since I never used the stupid Aspen card, I am going to close it and be done with them once and for all.

OK, no problem, After all it was his decision to go through with it. However, my dad sadly passed away August 10th BEFORE he could get all the work done. He paid ALL of it upfront, over 7800.00 dollars. I have asked for a refund ONLY of what my father could not have completed due to his death. Aspen Dental of Merritt Island, Florida will NOT answer my calls, emails or certified letter.
The corporate office said to send the DC and a refund will be issued. This is not true. They are money hungry, ruthless, heartless and they are crooks for the way they are handling the situation . This is a lowdown dirty way to handle business and treat the patient and patient's family. I have been going to the UF Dental college for a decade, went to this facility because I had Insurance this year that covered 2K a year 0 deductible. Had xrays, extensive exam, I had no new issues, just wanted to have an exam and cleaning, yes I have had periodontal disease for over a decade and have it under control, no infection, no bleeding, and first recommendation was to have all my upper teeth pulled then a denture because a known tooth is loose but has been functioning that way for 10 years, eventually yes that tooth will fail, then the 2nd option was root scaling that was over priced leaving me to pay them over $800 more. Guess what, I went back to the College where someday I may need a denture but guess what, it is not today and they will never touch my teeth again. Plus they never cleaned my teeth, I was lucky and got into the college had a great cleaning for $80 cheaper than what they wanted to charge my insurance. Went in for a first time cleaning with them. I religiously have my teeth cleaned and not had a cavity in probably 19 years so nothing wrong with my mouth. Was left in the waiting room for 45 minutes. They took a bazillion xrays. Hygienist said they wanna do a treatment plan. I just need a cleaning lady. They would not do a cleaning on me unless I came back for TWO more visits and paid 400 bucks even though I have dental insurance. Said I had bacteria and periodontal disease. It's a mouth. Don't they all have bacteria? Anyways, they wasted 2 hours of my time and I still need a basic cleaning. Stay away. They are all about selling something you don't need and apparently EVERYONE has periodontal disease. I heard them talk about another patient that was questioning that as well when I was there.
Edited to add: I went to a different dentist. Said I needed nothing extra. Cleaned my teeth and told me that I don't even need to see the actual dentist but once a year because my oral hyenine is so good. Absolutely no concerns. Be warned of these practices. Just trying to suck people dry for a basic need. Thankfully, I was not stupid enough to fall for it and now have found a dentist I trust.

I came to Aspen Dental to get a wisdom tooth extracted because it’s been causing me excruciating pain. The tooth was broken and I’ve ignored the pain for some time. I don’t have dental insurance so I was worried about the cost. While I was signing in filling out a brief application the front desk offered me their savings plan. Signing up was very simple. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were also swift. It only took about 20 minutes for my X-rays and oral examination with little to no discomfort by the staff and dental hygienist.
My dentist focused on the main issues but identified other key areas of interest. After a brief consultation with the dentist an appointment was scheduled for my extraction antibiotics and pain medication was prescribed to me and my extraction is scheduled for next week. The savings plan saved me close to 60 dollars. I would recommend their services to anyone looking for a professional dental care specialist.

The Aspen rep said she will now go back and do an audit on all our bills. A week later she called me and said not to worry about the bill, we don't owe that. I then asked her what money is coming back to us and she just said, "You're good, you don't need to pay it." I asked her to ensure this is updated in their system so that I don't go through this nightmare again.
A month later, there's another 1200 bill saying they're going to send it to collections. Of course, I called and the girl on the phone said she couldn't see anything in the system about the audit. I told her the name of the rep I worked with, but she said she didn't indicate anything in the system and hung up. After several more attempts, I finally got a rep who came back and said after thorough review, not only do I not have to pay the $1200, but have a $675 credit. I was livid. No one told me I had this coming back and they were keeping it as a "credit". I demanded a refund and told them I'm never using their services again. In January 2024, I visited the Aspen Dental location at 2020 Gulf Freeway in Texas City, seeking treatment for tooth sensitivity and a broken crown. My experience with this office has been nothing short of distressing and unprofessional. Dentist Huy ** performed a crown preparation on what I later discovered was a perfectly healthy tooth, according to both my insurance and subsequent X-rays. I suspect this was done purely for financial gain. When I raised my concerns with the owner, Brian Tran, he dismissed them without addressing the core issue.
The office manager, Timna **, and the hygienist, Natalie **, claimed they performed a deep cleaning on both my upper and lower teeth. However, my insurance refused to cover this procedure, stating that it was done out of order. To add insult to injury, another dentist later informed me that no deep cleaning had actually been done on my teeth.
After experiencing significant pain with the permanent crown that Dr. ** placed, I returned to see Brian Tran. He attributed the pain to the crown not being filed down properly and irritating the gum. However, another dentist contradicted this explanation, asserting that the tooth itself was infected—likely due to the damage caused by Dr. **. I believe that Dr. ** actions led to this infection and that Brian Tran attempted to cover up the mistake. To make matters worse, Dr. ** did not complete all the work I paid for, yet Timna ** refused to refund me for the unfinished work. Instead, they sent me a $3,000 bill for procedures they claim were not covered by my insurance. When I contacted my insurance, they confirmed that Dr. ** had performed unnecessary crown preparation on a healthy tooth and that the hygienist, Natalie **, had not followed the correct protocol for the cleaning.
After months of effort, I finally obtained my dental records, only to discover that my signature had been forged on several consent forms. I have reported this incident to the Texas City Police, and it is currently under investigation. If anyone else has experienced something similar at this location, I urge you to report it to the Texas City Police. You can also reach out to me directly at **.

I began dealing with Aspen Dental about 2 1/2 years ago. It has been nothing but a horrible and disappointing experience. On my first visit I had several teeth extracted. Dentist could not get two teeth in front so she left them broken off and sticking out. I paid for the “best” they offer. Between my insurance and myself we have forked close to $7000. I had two implants in front on bottom and have to go every other week to have rings replaced. $55 per ring each time. I had to visit a dermatologist due to the cracks of my staying infected. He said the issue was coming from ill fitting dentist.
I now use a special medicine two times a day to control the infection My insurance was billed for services that were not performed. Insurance will handle that aspect of this whole mess. I have consulted with another dentist and learned implants were not installed completely and neither my upper or lower dentures fit mouth correctly. So I will pay this new dentist to fix what Aspen messed up. I usually do not write reviews but it is pretty embarrassing when your dentures fall out in class while teaching or while eating. I honestly would not recommend them to anyone. It is a money racket with horrific results. Please take advice from a patient who cried many, many days on the money spent and the results. Thank goodness I found someone who can make a new set. I will leave the old one out as a constant reminder how important it is to conduct your research before putting your trust in a place that has more negative reviews than positive.

ASPEN DENTAL RAPID CITY, SD COMPLAINT. Historically I had not used Aspen Dental because of all the terrible reviews and things I have heard directly from previous patients. With that said, I gave your company the benefit of the doubt and set an appointment. Here is what went wrong as a first (never again) patient: I was very clear with the national appointment setting office about my wife and I needed a cleaning, they said there would need to be an exam and x-rays but all that could be done in 1 day. They promised because I really pushed them on this topic. And they said (and your website, insurance list states) there are 5 DDS at the Eglin Street Rapid City, SD location.
The scheduling (lack of DDS in your system), is terrible!!! I had to wait 3 months to get my initial appointment. This is way the public hates your company! 30 minutes (while we were enroute to the Egline Aspen office) before our appointments on 26 July at 1300 hours, my wife receives a text message stating our appointment has been cancelled and we will have to reschedule. I drove to said appointment anyway to understand the problem in-person. We stood at the front desk for 17 minutes while a female employee laughed and joked with someone in a rear room we could see. When said employee (later identified as Erika **, the office manager), saw us watching her she went inside the interior office and closed the door behind her.... Obviously not wanting to wait on us.
Then Erika came to the counter and she they were not taking any more appointments for that day. I told her we have been waiting 3 months, then she stated while we can do an exam/x-ray but the next cleaning appointment would be in October (SIX MONTHS FROM MY INITIAL CONTACT WITH ASPEN). I told her I was the customer and I was not satisfied with the situation and she told me I was arguing with her, then I told her she needs to do the RIGHT THING because I am a new customer and so far NOT impressed with ASPEN! She told me "well that's how it is, you can leave and go somewhere else but we are the only dental clinic in town that takes insurance". Also she could not explain why there was only 1 DDS at this location now, she wouldn't tell us why the other 4 dentists left this clinic. On the way out I told her that her customer service was terrible and we wouldn't be back.

That was done friday the 5th of july. Well later that night I was crying, in lots of horrible pain. I called them that following tuesday because I could not close my mouth from so much pain and severe swelling. Mind you I told them in my paper work on my first appt I am a diabetic type 2. So anyway I called them that following Mon ask to see the dr. I told her I can't sleep, whole side my face is swollen and also inside my mouth around the extraction is also very swollen and it was purple black and I was crying on the phone in severe pain. I took ** together with two ** and a goody powder that did nothing. No dang relife at all and she told me there no dr there at all that day and no dr was coming in that I had to go to urgent care or the ER.
Well I did go to mcloads ER in Florence. My blood pressure was like 180/95. I been up all day all night crying in pain and swelling my cheek an my gums. I was there waiting 3 hours in waiting area crying in severe pain and they only gave me a stronger antibiotic and only 12.50 mg ** prescription an a ** 50 mg pill there I told them that not going to help. I'm hurting too much. All they would say is I needed to go see my dentist. Still I was in severe pain.
I leave er, go by aspen and again complained and informed the lady upfront my situation. I was crying begging for something for severe pain being they're the ones caused this problem. Oh yea and I paid 170$ they charged me that day for them 2 tooth extractions. How can a dr take a oath to help people with their teeth and not supposed to let a person be in pain like I am suffering. Even right now I'm still hurting. Well when I went in the aspen office after I left the er after I told her what was still going on again no dentist dr was there. I said well what are you ladies doing here if no dr. Why are they open. Then she said just taking phone calls hmmp that I could come back next day and I had to be there by 8 in the morning and be seen as a walk in so I had to go home suffering still and another sleepless night of excruciating pain and then want me to come back and sit there all day not even knowing how long and sit there and being in severe pain. Omg I'm going crazy.
I’ve literally grabbed my cheeks and pinching my face in desperation in pain. This is depressing and misery. I asked her why he can't call me something in for like a week's worth just enough to keep me out of pain while the antibiotics take away all this infection once infection gone my pain will be gone. She like oh no he has to look at you he dont just prescribe pain meds like that. Well meanwhile the hell with me my pain that if he would have gave me something to begin with I would have never gotten infection so they cause a problem and don't be there to see you to fix the mess they made.
I only have 6 more teeth left in bottom of my mouth but I promise I will not be going back there to aspen to get them removed. I already got me appt at another dentist and way more closer. In mean time I be going crazy in pain wished I had me some ** just enough for a few days. I really want some relief from my gums. I feel like he pinched the hell out my gums with some pliers and stabbed my gums with a knife. I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy. I crying even right now as I typing this review. I'm in so much pain and er won't give nothing no stronger. They make me feel like I'm a pill head only coming in for pain pills like I'm some kind of a addiction when it not even like that. I just want to get relief from this pain and I want my gums to hurry up and go down this swelling.
My er visit that was yesterday mind this is been since the 5th of july in severe pain idk what else to do but crying and I begging God to relieve my pain and heal my gums and take away this swelling which swelling since yesterday has gone down a little bit with the new antibiotics but this freaking pain it driving me crazy. I about to drink me something get dang drunk. I can’t take this pain. You can see my pictures I put on this review of my mouth and this pitcher I took yesterday evening once you see the picture you understand why I am in severe pain.

Free baseline screening and consultation was thorough. According to the xrays, still no cavities at 63!, and nominal tartar buildup (I have my own dental tools), floss, soft bristle brush, non-flouride toothpaste. (You would think a little praise for the overall health of my mouth.) The reason for my visit was a very sore (9 of 10 pain) in lower right molar went glossed over and untreated. The Aspen Dental team went about trying to upsell me on a service (est. $1400) completely unrelated to getting treatment for my sore tooth. There was obfuscation over sharing costs - surely the staff know?! - to address my primary concern as well as over their recommended 'scrapping'. All in all it felt less dental care and more like being assaulted by used car salesmen. Still have a sore tooth, just ordered a Sonic flosser (I think the culprit is a caraway seed from a Rueben sandwich) and on my way to get food grade clove oil.
