I had two very badly decayed upper molars, one of which was abscessed and infected. The infection actually spread to my ear and jaw. The pain was unbelievable. I work a 7:30-5 job, sometimes ten days straight with very little time off. Therefore, making time to see my regular dentist was nearly impossible, so I reluctantly made an appointment with my local Aspen Dental, as they're open later and have flexible hours.
When I went in for my appointment, they first took X-rays of my teeth which literally took about ten minutes. Afterward, I requested to look at my X-rays. The technician told me that she couldn't show me, but the dentist would. Strange, but I was in such pain, that I wasn't going to argue at that point. She then took me back to the room and had me wait for the dental hygienist.
Once the hygienist came in, she asked what the problem was. I told her and after quite some time and a strange test in which she named off numbers for each of my teeth for the technician to enter into the computer, she confirmed that I had two teeth that could not be saved. She also told me I had a lower molar which was badly decayed, as well as moderate gum disease and gingivitis, but that those issues could be fixed with their special electric toothbrush and medicated mouth rinse. I told them I was not interested in treating those issues presently and that right now, I just really need my two upper molars dealt with. She debated this issue with me until she realized she was not going to persuade me. She then left to retrieve the dentist.
The dentist came in, confirmed what the hygienist had told me, and told me to go make an appointment to come back for the three extractions (the two upper molars I knew needed pulled and the lower molar that has never caused me problems). I then, again, requested to see my X-rays and the dentist told me there really wasn't any need for me to seem them, as abscesses don't really show up well on X-rays (uh, what)? I asked, regardless, if I could still see them. She began becoming combative with me, huffing and puffing, and stated she would "try to locate them." Well, what the heck, lady, where the hell would they have gone? She left me waiting in the chair for 22 minutes (I counted) before I just left. Never did see the X-rays.
I went out to the desk to make an appointment. The employee asked about my insurance. I told her that my insurance pays up to $1,000 per year for extractions. A cost more than $1,000 would be out of pocket. She then told me that she would contact me the next day and give me an estimate for this procedure. I have had many friends and family who have gotten teeth extracted in which the total cost was never even close to $1,000, even for multiple teeth, so I was not worried about the cost. I assumed my insurance would cover it completely.
The next day I received a call. The employee told me she had the estimate. I asked her what the cost was and she said $2,411.61. I asked her to repeat herself and she repeated the same figure. I then said, "Wow...okay...? So with my insurance, my out-of-pocket cost would be over $1,000...?" She then stated, "No, $2,411.61 IS your out-of-pocket cost." I then asked, "And this cost is just for two teeth extractions, correct?" She confirmed this and then asked me if I would like to confirm my appointment. I clearly remember saying, "Uh...no," and hung the phone up.
Needless to say, I took a day off work and visited my regular dentist as soon as possible. He took X-rays, SHOWED THEM TO ME AND ALSO SUBSEQUENTLY PRINTED ME A COPY FOR MYSELF without my even requesting it. He then pointed out the abscesses to me on the X-ray (surprise, abscessed teeth DO show up on X-rays). He stated that both upper molars were, indeed, beyond repair.
However, when I asked about the apparent irreparable damage to my lower molar and my moderate gum disease and gingivitis, he looked stunned and confused, paused for a moment, and asked, "Why do you believe you have those issues?" I explained to him that Aspen Dental told me I did. He rolled his eyes and let me know that my lower molar was not decayed, let alone beyond repair, nor did he see any signs of gingivitis or gum disease, nevermind moderate gum disease. At this point, I was livid with Aspen Dental and wanted the whole world to know the kind of "services" they provide.
I subsequently scheduled an appointment with my dentist to have the two teeth extracted. The whole process took about a half an hour and the best part? I did not have to pay a single cent for the procedure. My insurance did, indeed, cover the cost because, as I expected, no routine tooth extraction, in any universe, costs more than $1,000, let alone over $2,000.
To sum up, against my better judgment, I visited Aspen Dental. I regretted it almost immediately. Since visiting them, I have heard and read others' horror stories about that establishment, some experiences worse than mine. I am, in no way, an exception. In fact, you can read stories from former employees who quit after a couple months because they couldn't stand working there anymore, some claiming that they could no longer sleep at night knowing that their company was taking advantage of vulnerable and naive individuals and blatantly ripping them off with unnecessary procedures and add-ons to their bill that were never disclosed to them, nor requested by the patients.
I wanted to give Aspen Dental a chance and allow them the benefit of the doubt. Obviously, I should not have. They are a business, after all. Please, please just visit your regular dentist and if you don't have one, find one; They're everywhere. I would hate to see anyone else fall victim to the unethical, abhorrent business practices of a place like Aspen Dental.

They did panoramic x-rays and then the old standard of placing plastic pieces in plates that you had to bit on. They knocked several fillings which I am sure was their intent. I was having issues with a broken molar and they said they would have to cut into bone and I would need someone else to come in and put me under and do the work. His minimum charge was $800.00. They made no effort to even schedule another appointment and now I am suffering with two major dental problems. I consulted another dentist and he can see me in 6-8 weeks. So I'm in more intense pain and have more damage.

I went in to have two teeth pulled. They advised me that I needed to have my remaining lower teeth pulled and a lower denture placed. So we had that done in Dec. 2018, they said they would fit me immediately with an immediate denture, that's their term for it, however, they broke two of my teeth that had previous crowns with post, in turn, it gave me bone slivers, that continued coming out my gum for several months. I even went in to have some removed, mouth still inflamed and no temporary denture, they tried to put one in mouth but the tech kept grinding off pieces until it literally was ruined so she threw it away, I never went home with a denture, ok fast forward, my mouth spurs are almost healed enough to touch, so I decide to go get my temporary denture that I had already paid for, they got 2620.00 the first visit. I paid in full for everything including the immediate denture.
Well I never received a temporary denture even though they claim I did. They want to charge me another 503.00 for a lower denture. Considering that the tech messed the first one up and claims I received it, what's to say they won't do the same again. Cutting my losses with this company. They apparently like to rip people off from the reviews I read, I wish I had read before I paid them for services and product never received.

Myself and my husband went to Aspen Dental for New Patient exams. He had lost his veneer so he was looking to have it fixed. I had made our appt just a half hour apart. They took him in first and I sat for over an hour waiting for them to take me in. I finally went to the receptionist and asked if I had been forgot. I was told because we were husband and wife that I would not be seen until after my husband was done. We told them that we did have dental insurance and we were assured that whatever the new patient visit didn't cover the insurance would. My husband was told that he needed to pay $40.80 for his tooth to be repaired which he paid right there.
I only need a checkup and was told that I would not owe anything and my husband would owe nothing after he paid the $40.80. I told my husband after we left that I would not go back because I was made to feel like they were trying to sell us vacuums!! Imagine our surprise when the next month we received a bill for both of us totaling $204!!! When I called after getting the first bill they told me that they sent them in error and not to worry that it would be taken care of. I received a second bill for each of us and called again. This time I was told that we each had to pay $100 for our deductible for our insurance!! Why would they not tell my husband that when they took his $40.80 at the visit!! I was told several times during the visit that I would owe nothing. They even had me sit down to go over a very expensive plan for future care and never said anything about owing for that day!! I am waiting for the BBB to sort it out now.

I came in for a cleaning. A new hygienist began poking my gums of every tooth. With each tooth she documented. She dug and dug. When she was done, the dentist who had seen me 6 months prior asked me if I was in an accident. If I experienced some trauma to cause my sudden gum issue. All odd questions. Immediately I felt something is fishy going on. Money. New person doing good to bring money in for Aspen whether or not it’s honorable. I left that day extremely uncomfortable and disappointed in their practice. I returned at a later date and requested my regular hygienist to clean my teeth, after the former bad experience. She found nothing wrong with my gums.
At another time I needed a new crown. It took the assistant three times to get the impression. I was used as a guinea pig. Finally the last impression worked. When I returned to have the cap fitted. I left with promise. Shortly thereafter the cap came out. Went back again to have the cap cemented in. I left and in just a few days the cap came out again. I went back for a third time and the dentist on call that day had no success in fitting the cap in properly and she began filing down the cap that was fitted just fine prior. Horrific experience. Never in my life did I have such challenges. Inexperienced staff. I’d never recommend.

My company changed plans to CIGNA with limited choices in my area. Tried Aspen, Inverness, FL. I've seen my previous dentist often & hate to change. Aspen will not schedule a simple cleaning which I get every 6 months with my previous dentist. Aspen has to do a new patient evaluation first. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork, at 330pm. They did a tremendous number of XRays. Never seen anything like that. Then I sat in a back "lounge" for an hour. Next they moved me to a treatment room & I sat for another hour. The whole time I could hear everything in the other rooms, discussing treatment plans and issues, taking people to a business manager's office afterward to discuss financing. The only thing I could not hear was the financing discussions but it reminded me of a car dealership.
They have a strict sales process they follow while customer sits & waits & wonders what happens next. After 2.5 hours waiting to find out what happens to me after xrays, waiting for some kind of gum examine I heard, then heard a doctor visit was next, then followed by the trip to the business manager's office for a finance talk, I just left. I arrived at 330pm & left 6pm. Only did the x-rays & never saw a hygienist or a doctor. I didn't want to wait longer & see who was on the night shift... laff. I'm not that curious and can smell a setup. I'm old enough to know when to run and find a real dentist. Recommend you find someplace else unless you like car dealership like sales operations.

I went to Aspen Dental in Venice Florida with an appointment due to a single tooth that needed to be extracted. I was informed that because I had no insurance and was a new patient they would do a free exam and x-rays. I arrived early for the appointment and filled out four pages of information before being led to a room for full face x-rays and then individual tooth x-rays. I advised thru-out the process that I scheduled this appointment to extract a single tooth. Following the radiating of my head I was led to another room where a dentist conducted a full exam agreeing the tooth I complained about needed to be extracted. But first I would need a host of other services like deep cleaning which would total, as I was soon to be informed by their financial (telemarketer) almost $7,000.00.
To top it all off they might not be able to extract the tooth of my original complaint today. WHAT!!! Also if they did the extraction it would not cost the $131.00 I was quoted at the time of the appointment but rather $300.00. I could not wait to get out of that ripoff place. So... If you go there remember... You have been warned. PS. I still have the bad tooth and toothache.

2 weeks ago I chipped a tooth. I was happy when I called Aspen Dental the next day & was told they could see me that same afternoon. I went for the appointment and was immediately submitted to extensive x-rays, prodding & poking of the gums - this all took 1.5 hours. I was then told to wait & someone would come to get me - I assumed it would be to get my tooth fixed. After about 20 minutes of waiting I went to the front office & was told that the clerk was having problems with the computer. After an additional 10-15 minutes she finally printed out about 10 pages of suggested treatments totaling $3200.00 after insurance paid. She asked me when I would like to get an appointment to start the treatment. I reminded her I first needed to have the chipped tooth fixed - she gave me an appointment for 2 weeks later.
Today was my appointment at 8:30 AM. I was waiting outside their office at 8:15 AM when I received a recorded phone call asking me to call in order to reschedule my appointment. I went in the office at this time and asked what was going on. The clerk told me I had to reschedule because the dentist called out. I asked if there was no other dentist available to take care of me. She said there was only 1 other dentist and that their schedule was full and she rudely said there was nothing she could do.
Needless to say I was livid - since I had already prepaid for this service I told them I demanded a full refund and expect to see it on my account within a couple of days. The clerk turned her chair around and totally disrespected me. This is the worst example of customer service I have ever encountered. I guess I should not be surprised since I am thoroughly convinced (based on what I have since read about Aspen Dental) the in order to be a part of Aspen Dental you have to be an absolute ** moron. Be advised - Aspen Dental sucks!!!

I went to Aspen Dental for a regular check-up and cleaning. I have not missed regular check-ups for years (I go every 6 months - regular check-ups and cleanings, floss daily, etc.). My appointment was at noon and they did not see me until 1 PM. The hygienist came in and poked at my gums indicating numbers, but as she was rattling off numbers, she was no longer poking the gums and just saying numbers. She indicated I had severe gingivitis (which I do not) and needed a deep cleaning that the insurance does not pay for. She spent less than 3 minutes minutes with me. Did not ask me about my history or anything. After the deep cleaning, then I could go to the 6-month regular cleaning.
The dentist came in and spent all of two minutes with me and did not look at my teeth, or the 18+ x-rays they took or even the forms that I filled out and provided online prior to my appointment. He told me he is the only Dr. in the practice and they see 40 patients a day. Then proceeded to tell me I needed a root canal on a tooth and everything else was fine. The office manager was pushing the service recommended and kept asking me where I work, which was on the forms I had to fill out that no one read. DO NOT GO THERE - THEY ARE THERE TO UPSELL YOU ON SERVICES THAT ARE NOT EVEN WARRANTED.

The visit started out well. I had my x-rays and then the hygienist came in and looked at my teeth and told me how great everything looked and I only needed a light cleaning. Then the doctor came in and told me that I needed a crown on one tooth and a tooth on the top was completely dead and couldn't be saved. I was told I needed to have that tooth removed and implant put in. Mind you I've never had any pain or any problems whatsoever. I was then sent into a little office with a lady who gave me the financial breakdown. Even with insurance the cost was $4,500. I went in for a basic check-up and a cleaning and left with nothing. My insurance covers the cleaning 100% but they still wanted to charge me for cleaning. Now that tooth is killing me where they decided to dig and poke it.

I was apprehensive for my first appointment. Thought they would try to use fear tactics to sell other services, I was very wrong. They were thorough yet not pushy. I went to Aspen Dental after about a year of not going to the dentist. I brush my teeth three times a day and floss. They started with X-rays and then brought me into another room with a dental hygienist. She began "assessing my gums" by stabbing them with the dental tool and calling out numbers to the scribe. (This was the first time in my life this type of test was ever performed on me). After she finishes she explains that I have moderate stage of gum disease (forget the medical term she used) and said I would need deep cleaning with antibiotics. At this point they still had me fooled. Then the dentist came in and immediately asked if I "grind my teeth at night", no I don't, but nonetheless, she recommends a $400 "nightguard" for grinding my teeth at night.
At this point they have you thinking you have the worst hygiene on the planet. That's when they bring you into the sales room. This woman legit said "So that went pretty well, let's look at the damages, so after insurance it would be $2800 for the deep cleaning and antibiotics." That's when it hit me that it was a scam. I should have known right away my gums didn't decay that much in one year. I'm not kidding when I say I said "yeah right" and got up and left. I immediately googled "Aspen Dental ripoff" and sure enough I get to this website and I read hundreds of people telling the EXACT same story as me. Do. Not. Go. Here. I am going for a "second opinion" at a more reputable dentist and they already quoted me far less over the phone for a worse case scenario. I'm still astonished that this dentistry gets away with a scam like this, it's beyond me.

I did not have dental insurance so their promotion of free x-rays and exam seemed like a good deal. The final result that day was a long list of problems and an estimate for over $7,000. I found a dental plan to help me pay, Careington Care 500 Series. I have called several times trying to get an appointment, as I have now broken a tooth. They never answer the phone. You must leave a message and wait for their return call. I told them I had broken a tooth and now had a dental plan, giving them all the info. They called back after verifying my info.
They gave me an appointment for Monday but insisted that I pay them over the phone first, $729, before looking at the tooth. They claim that I must pay for the appointment and the amount was for deep cleaning, antibiotics, a test to see if I had mouth cancer, and the extraction of the tooth. They had already decided that the tooth, which they hadn't seen, needed to be pulled. I went to another dentist. I am getting a root canal and crown for $1200. I am glad I will be keeping the tooth.

I am an established patient with Aspen Dental in Toledo, Ohio. Went for an appointment today, which I made a couple weeks ago. I had informed them when I made the appointment, the reason for my visit was a broken tooth or filling. I went back to the x-ray room, they x-rayed the tooth and put me in the procedure room to wait for the dentist. She then comes in and tells me that the tooth/filling is broken and when would I like to come back to have it done. Sorry, why would I wait 2 weeks to just come in for an x-ray?
I told her that I wanted it done now, which she then agreed to do. She gave me the ** injection and almost immediately tried to work on the tooth. When I told her that I could feel pain, she then gave me a second injection of **, then her and the assistant basically sat there for about 5 minutes before she tried to drill again. Once again, I was in pain. She then informs me that I would have to reschedule for another time since the ** wasn't working, instead of giving the medication more time to work, or just giving me more. I argued that I needed it done today, why couldn't she give me more ** and wait a bit to finish. She tells me that she had already given me 2 injections, and that I was just "nervous", then walked out of the room to see her next patient, which I overheard her telling the assistant was an implant (much more $ than she was getting for my filling).
I then went to the waiting room to wait in order to speak to the office manager, who was busy selling someone their overpriced dental financing to talk to me. Once she was done, I was told that they could see if there was another location that could finish my filling, as they had already drilled out a portion of it and I insisted that it had to be finished today. She told me that there were no available appointments anywhere for that day. I then went on to ask why the dentist couldn't just give me more **, wait a bit, then do it. She told me that the appointment that I had made for that day was a "limited visit" and that the dentist agreed to do the filling as a courtesy, but since I wasn't able to be numbed, then she couldn't finish.
Told me that she couldn't give me more **, said it could cause heart racing - believe me, I've had more than 1 shot to have procedures done there in the past, so that was BS. I then told the manager that the dentist was inept at her job, that I had her fill a cavity in the past that I had to argue with her about because it was still painful many months afterwards. The office manager then went on to tell me "I'm not going to allow you to badmouth my doctor or the staff". I then asked for my x-rays, they were given to me, as well, I asked for the corporate office number, the dentist's name and her name (office manager). She gave these to me and I left with the intention of finding another dentist in the area that could finish the tooth.
I then went to my car to use my phone to find another dentist. About 15 minutes after I left, I received a call from another office manager who apologized for what happened and asked me to see if they could squeeze me in at another location. I agreed and she was able to get me in at another Aspen Dental location, which was halfway across town. I made it there, and it was a MUCH better office, with a dentist who actually knew what he was doing. I was really numb by then, so he tried to drill, but I was still feeling pain. He did what any experienced dentist would do, he gave me more **! He went to work on another patient, then was able to come back and finish the drilling and filling. Imagine that, a dentist that actually knows what they're doing and how to do it.
I plan to report this dentist from the original office to the Ohio State Dental Board. First of all, you don't MINIMIZE a patient's pain, try to gaslight them by telling them it's not pain, it's being "nervous", and since this is not the first time I've been minimized by this particular dentist in regards to pain she caused, I think I'm more than warranted to report this. I have never been "nervous" about a dental procedure, she's just inept at her job! Stay away from the Toledo, Ohio location of Aspen Dental would be my suggestion. The one I went to that finished my dental work was in Perrysburg, Ohio, and I would recommend them, it's worth the drive!

I had a temporary crown placed on Thursday morning; Sunday evening, it disintegrated in my mouth although I had carefully avoided chewing on that side of my mouth all weekend. I called 1st thing Monday morning to get in for a repair and was offered an appt the following day, or the option of walking in and waiting to be squeezed in on Monday. I needed the tooth protected, and I needed it right away; the woman on the phone apologized that their schedule was full, and again offered me the walk in option - with the caveat that I would probably be waiting hours. The temporary installation had failed, and my perception is that, when there's a customer problem you fix it as quickly and seamlessly as possible - it's called customer "service" for a reason! Aspen had none.
I contacted several other dental facilities in the area, explained my situation to each one. I ended up at another provider on Monday morning who did the repair and with whom I felt a high level of confidence; the other provider will be completing my crown work at slightly less than half of the price quoted by Aspen. I would recommend careful shopping when in need of dental work, and I would not recommend Aspen after this experience. Additionally, I paid to have two temporary crowns on the initial Thursday visit; only one was done due to the time constraints of the dentist (she had car trouble and my appointment was pushed back an hour). However, because they request payment before you have anything done, I'd paid for the anticipated two crowns. Will be interesting to see how difficult a refund may be.

Just this morning my husband went into the office to what we thought was going to be for impressions, & extractions for his new partial. We had been there in October for the initial consultation, and were told that his next visit would be to get impressions and do the extractions. We were told otherwise once we got there. I naturally became upset because we had already planned for my husband's time from being away from work. I wanted to make sure my husband would have everything completed before going back to work. I was assertive in my tone, and I have a naturally loud voice so the staff assumed I was being rude.
When one of the staff members wanted me to make payment, I said that the price might need adjusting because he recently got a tooth extracted. I thought it was one of the top teeth they were planning on pulling. The lady asked if I knew which one it was. I said I didn't and asked if they could just look to see which one it was. The receptionist insisted that I call the dentist that pulled the tooth to get the information. I was dumbfounded at this point, because a simple look in his mouth would have answered her question. I ended up calling the other dentist, and I asked for the information Aspen was looking for. The lady immediately cracked up and asked the same question I did. Why couldn't they just look? I agreed with them.
Meanwhile the Aspen Receptionist went to go complain to the dentist and told her I was being rude to the staff. I never cussed or screamed at them. I was assertive and like I said naturally loud, but never cruel. When the receptionist came back to the front, I let her know which tooth it was. I was calm at the time. Soon after my husband comes out and tells me that the dentist is going to refuse to see him, if I don't apologize to her staff. At this point I do become livid. How can they threaten a patient of theirs for a problem they have with someone else.
Even if I am his spouse, they have no right to treat him like that. The dentist should have come directly to me to handle the problem. Not once did I scream or cuss, but boy I wanted to. I even apologized to her and explained how I have a naturally loud voice and that what she was experiencing was how I am all the time. I even tried seeking sympathy for being a diabetic. Right now my sugar is uncontrolled and my mood can be rough for people to handle. She didn't want to hear any excuses and refused my apology. The next best thing I could think of to defuse the situation was to leave the office. So I did.
A few seconds later my husband comes out and says that they refused services to him. That made me more upset, and I went back inside and told them I would call Aspen Corporate and the Texas Department of Insurance. Calling the Texas Department of Insurance does not make sense, but I wasn't thinking clearly at the time. I know I didn't handle things at the end very well, but my husband should not have had to suffer for it. Worst experience ever! If I could give a zero, I would.

I do x-ray and going into the room. The nurse comes in and says they don't take my insurance. I'm like, "What. You just now checking that and I been having a appointment scheduled for 3 months and you now checking." I was so pissed and all they could say was, "You don't have to pay for the service we have done" and I found out it's a free service for everyone. This is so unprofessional and Aspen Dental suppose to be this great dentist office!

My husband went to Aspen Dental to fix a broken tooth. I was immediately told I had Periodontal disease and gingivitis and that it would take a $1000.00. Overall I was told that it would cost $5000.00 to fix the problems with my teeth. I was told I would have to go on antibiotic treatment before the tooth could be fixed. I was scared about what they were telling me. It was outrageous! But before I could leave they basically threatened me and said I would have to pay upfront before they would even book another visit. I asked again and again to just have the front tooth fixed but they said no. They also told me I was losing bone in my jaw fast.
The next week I went to a long time dentist in my town and he said I did not have Periodontal disease or gingivitis. I was not losing bone in my jaw either. He told me he could and would fix my for $600.00. Aspen Dental is a scam place set up to threaten its customers with bogus illnesses and charges. It is funny that everyone who walks into the Arrowhead location has Periodontal disease. I requested a refund of my money and still have not gotten it. Aspen Dental is a rip off. I will never go back there and will tell all others run, run away fast or you too will have some disease in your mouth. This place will make up things just to make more money. This is a scam at its best to rip people off. Go to a real dentist and be treated fairly and honestly.

HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT BAD MOUTHING SOMEONE WHO HAS DONE NOTHING BUT TRY TO HELP YOU? THE ONLY BIT OF ADVICE I CAN GIVE to myself, is to wait at least 24 hours, after the fact, before writing about it. Be truthful with no embellishments for humor's sake. Because there is nothing funny about this. Here, is the rest of the story! (To coin a phrase, sorry Harvey).
In my last rant, I wrote about my experience with Aspen Dental and what they tried to do for me. I showed pictures of me with my new teeth. Those pictures were the only time I have ever had the teeth in my mouth, other than the 4 fittings I have had. Why? They don't fit. If I try and talk or do anything with them they just get all tangled up and fall out of my mouth.
I was told by my dentist on my second fitting, that I did not have enough bone in my jaw and skull for the teeth to grip to. I hollered back at him at the time "You're the one that chizzled it out!" It has been 6 months since it all started. I did not get the juicy thick porterhouse I had been looking forward to, for half a year, as my reward for my endeavors. I have not tasted bacon for 6 months either, because I can't chew it. That is saying something, from someone that has called himself the "Bacon man" on FB for years. The only saving grace on that fact is, I haven't bought any bacon in 6 months either. I can now buy a car and pay cash for it.
Yesterday when they were giving me my last fitting the dental assistant explained that "All" bottom teeth were "Floaters" as they have nothing to hold on to. Really? My parents both had dentures, they never used one drop of glue in theirs, or had "Floaters". My dentist basically told me I didn't have enough bone. (That's what she said) "Badaboom" (Ok, I just can't help myself).
When my fitting was over, I was bumrushed out the door, like I was trying to date their daughter. Wam bam get out. No sucker, no have a nice life, just gone. (sigh) I am actually being very subdued. Can you imagine the hell I would raise if I had paid 10 grand for new teeth that didn't fit? Let the lawsuits commence. I feel bad that what Aspen Dental tried to do for me (for free) failed. They also spent 6 months, and almost 10 grand (what it would have cost me) to give me a smile. My positive stint on this is, all my rotten teeth are gone, no more pain or abscess. No more antibiotics, no more sleepless nights. So thank you Aspen Dental. Better luck next time.

I was unable to get into my dentist for a filling that needed to be redone so I decided to try Aspen in Vestal NY. They told me that I needed 3 fillings total as well as a deep cleaning. They wouldn't do the fillings until the deep cleaning was done. I decided to wait until I saw my dentist. Of course I only needed the one filling done and my dentist made no mention of needing two others. It has been six months and have not needed any other teeth filled. Also my dentist told me that I didn’t need a deep cleaning.
Furthermore, I’d like to mention that I am an insurance broker. A few of my clients shared similar experiences with me at aspen over the past few months. One of them was even charged for a deep cleaning when she didn’t receive one. She is still fighting them on it. To me that is disgusting!!! They seem to push expensive unnecessary procedures that they don’t even perform! Who is regulating them??

People who came in after me were being taken in before me. I finally walk out at 10:10 am. Aspen Dental Nightmare. I had some bottom teeth bad & hurting for a few months. Food was getting stuck & was time to get rid of the pain. I went to Aspen Dental for pain relief & fix bottom teeth. They gave me pain killers acknowledging my pain & lower teeth problems. Then decided to ignore all pain & lower teeth & said i had to pull all front teeth (good & no pain or problems) that I was losing bone fast & had to come out asap. (**) Went home realizing I'm being set up for a mouth full of problems. So I made 2 special appointments 1st the office mgr. Letting him know we were approaching this backwards & we need to address my pain & then worry about the good teeth that wasn't a painful issue. Told them to keep deposit & deal with my pain. Fell upon deaf ears.
Went back for 2nd appointment. This time with dentist. Went over same issues & nothing at all done. Day of teeth being pulled probably 10 days later. Broke roots off in jaw, could hear & feel it, 2 bloody trips to xray to figure out if they left any roots (Jaw all jacked up now). I got my whole mouth of problems & pain. (Thanks Aspen.) No antibiotics or painkillers. NOTHING!! Went to get stitches out, gums & jaw not healing right, blood coming from gums just removing stitches. Just the look on her face & she said this isn't good. What a NIGHTMARE! Now after $5000+ they will not finish my permanent denture until I sign what they call a consent form but it releases them of all liabilities & I forfeit my warranty which was 1 of the deciding factors for me. I totally got screwed & they don't care.
Also the last time I went in, the admin said she would contact them. I went in. They called me up to give me a hard time about a bogus bill I didn't owe. After they dug deeper & I kept refusing to pay something I didn't owe, FINALLY after more than 1 person digging into it finally admitted it was their error & work never done. Once again a NIGHTMARE. That's my story of Aspen Dental. I only had 1 shot of getting it right, i should have done a better job of checking reviews. I just wanted the pain to stop. Now I have more pain, with all the impressions other teeth giving me problems because of impressions pulling old fillings so they caused more problems & I still have original problem teeth & now it's getting cold & bothering me more. Bad part is I still need a dentist. After several months & $5285.00 in work I'm in more pain, lost sleep due to pain & more miserable now than when I started. THANKS ASPEN.

I wouldn’t even give the Zanesville office a 1 star if I could. My boyfriend went to Aspen Dental in Zanesville, Ohio. He was having excruciating pain in his tooth. The receptionist was doing check ins, other scheduling, payments, and answering all calls plus making calls. It was like they didn’t have a billing department who could do the payments and make ins calls. Which made for poor service up front. When you walked in you had to sign in then sit and wait for them to call you up, then half the patients that walked in they were questioned if they were sure they had an appointment.
The one patient was in a wheelchair and her husband with her the dental assistant went to take them back and the patient told her that her husband needed to come to help her into the dental chair and the assistant said to her “What? You think I can’t help you.” Like it was a burden she was wanting her family to do it. Then they had to go thru a door and the assistant said “You need to hold that door for me.” I’ve never seen people so rude to customers.
The one gentleman sat there and was there before us (we arrived at 2:00 pm) and close to 3 pm he went up and said he was just rescheduling because he couldn’t wait all day, and the receptionist said “Did you sign in?” He said "Yes my appointment was at 2," the receptionist said “We have you down for 3:15." So my question is, when you check people in, do you pay attention enough to see they’re over an hour early, to reassure them? “Your appointment isn’t until 3:15, is that still okay, you’re more than welcome to wait, just wanted to be sure my info is correct.”
The office didn’t let families go back with the patients because they said there wasn’t room, which is fine, but if I’m sitting there 2 hrs while you’re seeing my family, please give me a small update, like “Your family is doing fine. Things are just taking a while." There they didn’t tell you nothing. Didn’t even explain paperwork to new patients so they know where to sign and what to fill out.
A woman had to come out and talk to her husband in the waiting room about a payment they had to make that day and if they wanted to do the procedure, to me, why couldn’t they allow the family to come into the patient room to talk about that, where it’s private, not where the waiting room could hear it discussed. I called to get a refund of a half payment we made to make an extraction appointment and they told me 7-10 days because of corporate and when I asked for a number for corporate, the billing person refused to give me corporate contact information. Poor service, rude, and all around a terrible experience.

I've had severe dental anxiety since I was a kid. My anxiety was improving with age until we started seeing Aspen Dental when I was in my early teens. The staff are cold and impersonal; the dentists rarely spoke to me, instead, they'd walk into the room and start doing whatever it was I needed done without explaining anything (being walked through the process is something anxious patients often benefit from). It felt very clinical and robotic, as if they didn't see me (or any other patient, I imagine) as an individual person with a unique situation. Needless to say, this felt very isolating and intimidating. I had a lot of fillings done here, and I noticed on multiple occasions that they also seemed rushed; they wouldn't wait for the numbing gel to take effect before injecting the local anesthetic, and would start drilling very soon after.
Since I had braces as a kid, I also had decalcification on my enamel. My orthodontist had told me that whitening treatments would be too harsh on my teeth (I already had significant sensitivity). During one appointment the dentist attempted to sell me a whitening treatment, asking me if I'd ever considered it. When I told them my teeth were too sensitive, they brushed it off and asked, "Why wouldn't your teeth be strong enough for it?" It was at that point that I started to strongly believe that Aspen cares more about making money than they do about the health and comfort of their patients. I stopped going about two years ago and I'll never go back, but unfortunately it left me with dental anxiety worse than I had when I started with them, which I have to manage with medication to this day. My new dentist works at an independent clinic and all of the staff members are exceptionally friendly, patient, and excellent with managing anxiety.

Please look up the PBS special called Patients, Pressure, and Profits at Aspen Dental. I went to Aspen Dental for a tooth that I knocked loose. They did not x-rays, but a hygienist looked at my tooth/teeth and came back a few minutes later with a larger display board and said that I had so much bone loss that I need to start considering what type of dentures I wanted after my teeth were pulled. The dentist then came in and talked to me for about 5 minutes about the merits of dentures vs implants. I left with a list an estimate of about $13,000 and the urgent advice that this needs to be done immediately and I should consider taking out a loan if necessary.
I decided to get a second opinion and do a little research on Aspen Dental. I didn't tell the dentist Aspen's diagnosis of extreme bone loss and recommendation of extracting all of my teeth. The new dentist took x-rays and told me that there was minor bone loss and the beginning of gum disease which could be arrested without issue. I asked him if he was sure of that diagnosis. I then told him what Aspen dental had told me. He wasn't shocked. This is a private-equity owned chain who's motivation is to make money. Your best interests are not theirs.

My insurance pays a max yearly so I wanted to start with the most urgent issues first i.e., cavities. They REFUSED to fix the cavities without the deep cleaning first!! Funny how our prior dentist never brought this to either of our attention! RED FLAG!!! I told them I’ll be going back to my prior dentist to fix my cavities as he apparently had no issue!! Upon arriving at my 2nd appointment after they have done the initial work, they then informed me a additional $150 would be due. I was not informed prior to this appointment that I would have to come out of pocket since I am on their finance plan... especially a couple hundred bucks. I suggested adding the amount to my open account but they informed me there was no available credit and with it being Christmas time I could not afford to pay so I had to walk out.
The next day, I received my statement and what did it say? $1000 available credit! I called the office, asked to speak with a manager (the manager was actually the lady who said I had no available credit the day before). Told her the situation and said I could email or fax her a copy of my statement, she denied and said she doesn't need my copy and will take care of it... That was on Dec 14 2018, today is January 7 2019 and I have yet to hear back from them.

I was seen initially on 11/13 when a treatment plan was devised; deep cleaning, 2 crowns, a filling, an extraction and partials. 2 days later the cleaning was done and an appointment was made for 11/27 to start the 1st crown and do the extraction. On 11/26 at 9:07pm, I received a message from Bradley stating I needed to call in the morning to reschedule the 11/27 appointment. The appointment was rescheduled for 12/3. When I arrived for that appointment I was greeted by a 'new' dentist with no explanation. After viewing my xrays, the 'new' dentist informed me that instead of a filling, I would need another crown (that should have raised the first flag). Bradley (the 2nd office manager I dealt with) informed me that it would increase my bill by $828. I reluctantly agreed but was deeply concerned about the change of treatment plan.
I was not informed of an additional $195 build-up charge at that time and the crown was prepped after spending 3-plus hours in the chair while the dentist saw other patients intermittently. My next appt. was scheduled for 12/20 at 9:00am. I arrived before anyone- including the staff- at about 8:45. When the doors opened, 2 other patients had arrived and they were called to the back to be seen. Although puzzled, I patiently waited to be called. About 45 minutes later I was called to the back to be seated and was told the office manager would be in to talk to me. This was good because I wanted to address my concerns about the change in treatment plans.
When she came in 15 minutes later, it was the 3rd office manager I had seen in 3 visits. I informed her of the 'new' dentists change and wanted to know how/why this happened. She gave me the company line regarding how they wanted to do what was best for the patient, etc., etc and that my original dentist was back and would stick to the original plan. WHAT!?! How could he stick to the original plan when the 'new' dentist had changed it, started it and left. She told me that she was there temporarily from the Bossier office and could only tell me what my chart showed. At this point I was mad and disappointed. She then informed me that my crown had not arrived and they were waiting on the day's UPS delivery to deliver it and asked if I could wait another 15 minutes. Although fuming at this point, I agreed to wait. 30 minutes later after seeing no one, I decided to reschedule my appointment (Why wasn't I informed upon my arrival?).
At this point I was no longer confident in Aspen's ability to meet my expectations and decided to request a refund once the crown arrived since it was already paid for. My next appointment was scheduled for 12/31 at 3:30pm to have the crown applied. I arrived early as usual (about 3:25) and noticed several people filling out paperwork and I assumed they were new patients. During the next hour and 55 minutes, not only were these patients seen before me, 2 more appointments arrived after I did and subsequently rescheduled their appt, and left after a lengthy wait. I couldn't understand why walk-ins were being seen before those with appts. Then it occurred to me that they already had my money so it was more beneficial to get new money by seeing the walk-ins first. That just isn't right!

They finally removed that doctor from complaints of other patients as well. They have another doctor in which she was very concern and see that the dentures were done wrong not my fitting for my mouth causing me to hurt my gums and tongue. If I'd have known that there was going to be this much Issues I would of taken the money back guarantee which really should be longer with it taking so long to adjust to them for some. Now they sit in a cup as I make payments every month and don't have them. My mouth is hurting bad with two weeks to wait before I can get them fixed. Just wished I would have read all the reviews & realized that this would happen. Knowing every time I took them back for work especially when they're broken in half it made the denture weaker! I have NO choice but to have them fixed yet again because I cannot deal with being without them! As an incoming patient at Aspen, I got new x-rays (wrapping all the way around my head), which didn't show my wisdom teeth at all! After asking them how this could be, they had no response, except to ask me whether I might be mistaken about my wisdom teeth. My only explanation is that they accidentally switched my x-ray with another patient's. They made no effort to look into the situation and obviously didn't believe my concerns about the disappearance of my wisdom teeth.
I waited in the Deland, FL office for an hour past my appointment time before I was seen. The hygienist recommended a "deep cleaning" for my 3-4mm periodontal pockets in my gums (which have not worsened beyond this for at least a decade). This treatment would have costed 500 dollars. After getting opinions from two other dentists who said no treatment other than regular flossing is necessary unless it appears to be worsening to 5+mm pockets, I called Aspen to say I will decline the "deep cleaning" for now and merely receive the normal cleaning. The receptionist perfunctorily informed me I am required to undergo any treatment the hygienist prescribes and am not allowed to decline anything. I am done with Aspen after only one visit and would never recommend them to anyone. They are controlling and will try to take as much of your money as they can.

I had a toothache. I made an appt to dentist at Aspen Dental. I was a bad girl, haven’t visited dentist for about 12 years. Had no problem with my teeth. After X-rays doctor set up a plan on how to fix my toothache problem. He fixed the “problem” tooth. Apparently, it wasn’t the right tooth that was aching. He made a root canal on other tooth, then on other tooth next to it. Problems seems to despair. But, I was in constant soreness at the gum area, a bubble appeared at the top of one tooth. My whole top jaw line sore. While doctor going from tooth to tooth to fix the cavities he shaved off tooth so bad that it is near impossible to put a crown on, for Other new Aspen Dental doctor.
The new Aspen Dental doctor continues experimenting on my problem teeth suggesting dentures, implants. Then he decided leave it as it is with only root canal on two problem teeth. On my next visit the third Aspen doctor gave me an answer to the tooth with a bubble above it. He told me that he is not going to fix that tooth that they already put a filling in about 6 month ago. Now he sends me to a specialist to make another root canal and wanted to put a crown on it. All those three teeth they worked on, they screw them up leaving for more problem to fix, for more money out the pocket to fix the problem they didn’t fix in beginning with.
One tooth is so sharp, so when I fall asleep and my tongue falls at that side of my mouth I get cut every single time from the edge of the tooth. Also doctor fixed one bottom tooth at my left side of the mouth. Now it is extremely sensitive to cold. I talked to my teenage kids and they told me that every tooth filling they had from Aspen Dental, now after two month become so sensitive to cold. Seems that Aspen Dental wants to go the same route with my kids, leaving their teeth with an infection inside, so they can “fix” the problem, make a root canal and put a new crown. My kids are 19 and they have excellent teeth.

I haven’t been to a dentist in over 5 years and decided it’s time to see one due to my bleeding gums. After a million of xrays a dentist came in, poked around in my mouth for 30 seconds and told me that I have “very aggressive” and “advanced” gum disease. He said there’s a chance some of my teeth can be saved but didn’t sound hopeful. Then he said he can’t do anything about it and gave me a referral to a guy who specializes in dentures and pulling teeth. I was also told that I have a couple of cavities. I was crushed because I’m only 23. I decided to go to Indy and get a second opinion, it was the best decision I’ve ever made! They couldn’t believe that anyone would suggest to pull any of my teeth.
Even though I do have gum disease it’s 100% treatable and I had zero tooth damage and also no cavities. I’m also so happy that Aspen didn’t clean my teeth after reading these reviews of their prices! Anyone around Indy area I highly suggest going to the dental school. They are THOROUGH in everything they do. I had different specialists take care of me and only cost me $40! No teeth pulling and no unnecessary “deep cleaning.” I just had deep cleaning on the upper right side of my gums where the gum disease was the worst. Everywhere else just needed general cleaning! I will never go back to Aspen! Don’t wasted your time and money. I was also informed that Aspen Dental has a quota they’re supposed to meet, that’s why there’s so much unnecessary work that patients get.

I called Aspen Dental on Tuesday, they came up as providing dentures when I did a Google search. I gave them all my information dental insurance birth dates everything except the social security number, I told them I would give that at the appointment. They scheduled me for Thursday. I received an emailed saying I needed to contact them regarding my appointment. I called Wednesday at 9:32 and spoke to Holly, she told me that I spoke to an answering service not them and that the information provided was not given to the office. I responded that they shouldn't use a service if the information that Rachel took wasn't uploaded to them. I gave her the information all over again. I get a call from Allison at 11:42 on Wednesday, who says there is a problem with the information. It's all jumbled and the social security number is not there. I explain again that I will not provide it over the phone I will provide it at the office.
Then I start to question. Did I make a mistake? I did a Better Business search. It didn't show anything for Kansas City, MO and Aspen Dental. I went to Aspen Dental on Facebook and started reading reviews and could not believe what I was reading. I entered a question on their page and got a response after 20 minutes. I was told if I had concerns to call Courtney at the home office. I called immediately and it went right to voicemail. She never called me back. The reviews on Facebook and ConsumerAffairs were not good for service or denture wearers, so I cancelled my appointment. They tried to pressure me into keeping the appointment. Shannon the Office Manager wouldn't take my concern for the denture warranties not be honored. I didn't even want to take a chance with Aspen Dental.
Courtney called me at 8:30 Friday morning. She advised that she was on a teleconference call when I called her. I let her know that I read the reviews on Facebook and ConsumerAffairs and didn't like what I had read and cancelled my appointment, she hung up. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews and no changes to Aspen Dental have happened, the company should be reading the same reviews and using the teleconference calls to make changes not keep on keep on the same service. Thank you everyone for letting the public know so I didn't get into a terrible nightmare!

Then Hygienist came in and starting pokey at my teeth with a needle then she proceeded to tell me I have gum disease. All my life I have never heard this and I just was seen by another dentist a year before. All in all they quoted me $19,000. I believe this place is a rip off, someone really needs to investigate them. I’m going to go get another opinion from another doctor. This place is not good. If I could I would give no stars. I went in on 5/18/18, I had 14 or more teeth pulled within a week. The follow up visits I spent most of my time in the waiting room. One time it was 2 hours because no one pulled my file. I went in for my fitting for my temporary dentures. When I went back they were made wrong & I had to go through the whole procedure to get another pair made. That took quite allot of time. I finally got my temporary dentures.
After the 6 month wait period, I went in to get my impression for my permanent dentures. Again, waiting time to get in was terrible. Went back to get my permanent dentures, & I was told by a very rude employee that I needed to give her my temporary denture. I asked why and she said they were going to put a liner in, & that would be my permanent dentures. After her rude remarks when I told her no, I am here for my impression for new dentures. It took me to request to talk to the office manager that they finally said I was right & they had the impression made.
Went back to have a fitting and the wax impression was wrong so I had to do another impression. I was given a date to come back on 12/3/18 to get my dentures. I sat in the waiting for over an hour, finally they bring me back to the room just to tell me my dentures were not ready. Of course they always blame things on the person you had before. I finally had it & talked to the Office Manager and told her the terrible experiences I have had, I want a refund. She went back & got another Dentist, he came in the office and said give them a chance to make it right. I was to come back on Wednesday 12/5/18, at 8 AM & he would personally meet me at 8 am, no waiting. I drove out there again, no one got me at 8 am, I waited again, I was so upset of how I was treated, that I walked out.
My husband went down to the Office Manager about all this, & all they keep saying is give them a chance to make it right, then within 90 days I can bring my dentures & temp dentures in for a refund. My husband ended up bringing my permanent dentures home, & I will tell you they are rough, not smooth, & when you chew the teeth slide off of each other.
I have given them a number of chances to make things right & it just gets worse. We spent about $5,000 for upper & lower dentures all paid upfront, you would think after all they have put me through, & the anxiety & stress they have caused me, instead of saying just sorry, they should have at least reimburse partial cost. I have recommend Aspen Dental in the past, but now I would not recommend them. I am so not trusting of the quality of their work, I have dentures that I need adjusting and will have to go to someone else. Don't go to Aspen Dental, Jackson, TN.

I would highly recommend that a person needing professional dental care choose a different Dental office. After my unprofessional and expensive visit I will not be going back to Aspen Dental. My broken tooth turned into a crown but because of the inexperience and unprofessionalism of the young dentist it turned into a root canal on top of just a crown. The young dentist was not only unprofessional in the prepping of the crown but also the use of needles for numbing, the amount of numbing liquid that ran down the back of my throat and made me gag and the roughness of working on my prepped tooth with no numbing agent. To top the terrible experience off she used her personal cell phone to take pictures of my mouth and tooth which is a HIPAA violation.
Along with this Aspen Dental overcharged me for future dental work which I had not agreed on. Dental work that when I went to another dentist was told “was not needed”. My out of pocket costs went from a few hundred dollars, which I was ok with, to a little over $2,000 now. I talked with the “regional” manager and basically was told, “That’s life”. I am now starting the process of filling a HIPAA Violation complaint with the OCR against Aspen Dental due to their dentist taking pictures of my mouth with her personal cell phone and then telling me she was going to send them over the open internet to another doctor. I had requested that all the additional “out of pocket” charges be reimbursed to me due to the incompetence and unprofessionalism of the dentist and that I would pay for the crown. At this point I will let the OCR decide if Aspen Dental has performed a HIPAA Violation or not. But beware of the chain called Aspen Dental.

I have never seen such unprofessional dentists and staff in my life. My first appointment they messed up my insurance, requiring me to wait for well over an hour for them to get it straight. I did however give them a chance. During this appointment full x-rays and exam were done, which I am now being told the dentist didn't write anything down for future reference. The dentist recommended I use nitrous oxide so referred me to another dentist, and although I am very nervous, I am able to get through things, also I can't afford the gas, which I told them. I called to have a tooth filled (which she knew about) but now I have been told the dentist will not see me for a second visit because SHE FEELS I need nitrous oxide, but NOT AT MY REQUEST.
So much for Aspen Dental making you feel welcome with open arms and working with patients to make the visit a success (per their recording I had to listen to for 15 mins while the receptionist discussed me with the dentist). I have a crown that doesn't fit (which him two-hours to fit me for! They do not do the crowns in office so I'm not sure why). The tooth is now infected and decaying. Because it doesn't fit properly it is causing me to issues with biting or chewing. Do not trust their diagnosis, they are trying to get paid and will tell you to get things done you don't need. They bill you for things they shouldn't. They don't return phone calls. Going here was the worst mistake I made in my entire 30 something years of going to the dentist. I've NEVER had issues with any dentist or medical provider. They are unprofessional, lying THIEVES.
This place needs to be shut down. From the other reviews of the Aspen company, it looks like I'm not the only one who feels this way. Look at their BBB report. They have 1 star. That's pathetic. I'm reporting them to the BBB myself because I hate being ripped off and treated badly when I spend my hard earned money! And do not believe that they will rectify any situation or complaint. My experience with this location is less than desirable. I would have had a better experience if I had gone to the local free clinic, and that's not saying much here. First I got there 20 mins before my appointment, as soon as I stepped into the office it felt like a freezer in the office. The temp outside was mid 40s yet the office temp was colder inside than out, the front desk staff were wearing winter coats, that's how cold it was. I had to wait an hour before being taken to the back, which that experience is another story in itself. The worse part was there wasn't anyone in the waiting room when I got there or while I was waiting to be seen, so why did it take so freaking long?
I got to the back for x-rays, the technician could have had better manners and be more friendly instead of being so freaking bossy and curt with me. I was then taken to the back in an area that really wasn't private, there were no set boundaries to the rooms, it was an open concept, I didn't like that, other people shouldn't be able to hear what my health or dental problems are and I shouldn't be able to hear about other patient's private things. Not sure but I think it could violated HIPAA rules and regulations. I sat back there for another 15 to 20 mins waiting on the dentist to come back after discussing my health and other intake questions they ask.
Now mind you, I went in because I am experiencing extreme jaw pain which has caused my jaw to swell up, the pain radiating from my back teeth up into my inner ear and down my neck and my lymph nodes were swollen from the infection. I had already been seen by a Doctor who said I had an abscessed tooth a few days prior to this dentist appointment, the doctor put me on a course of high dosage antibiotics to help with the infection. When the dentist finally came to my area I was at he briefly touched on my jaw problem and said there was no abscess and that no tooth is causing the pain, that he thinks it has to do with a sinus infection.
That took all of maybe 2 or 3 mins and he didn't even bother to take a look at the area itself, just at the X-rays, which clearly showed something wrong with that side of the mouth because it was a cloudy image in and under the teeth on that side of my mouth whereas the other side was clear and you could see the blood vessels and the canal with clear detail.
The dentist then went into a plan for me which he only entailed as an advanced cleaning procedure they have that would require 17 visits to complete. He then left and when I got to the checkout desk I asked for an itemized estimate of all the costs of the visits and everything to be done. I reviewed it when I got home and found out that I will be charged $200 for an Oral B power toothbrush, of which I never asked for or was even discussed with me about. A few crowns thrown in here and there and a cleaning each visit for a total of $6000.
Either your office is a scam artist and trying to scam me or your policies cleary are not in the interest of individuals that are needing actual dental treatment because that is some crazy way to run a business. Don't disclose items you are going to be charged for, don't actually go into the root of why you are there and promote services that aren't really needed. I am sure that the BBB and Consumer Affairs would love to hear about this place. SMH I will never recommend this place to anyone or return back to them.

Sent to a woman in the payment office for setting up for the work needed. Asked for explanation of s to come. Eventually handed a sheet that showed the whole amount, no breakdowns. Now while she had my insurance information and was typing away. She asked when did I want to schedule the work and I said I would not schedule till I knew what my insurance would cover. She told me she was having trouble getting through and maybe I could call them and let her know, because we didn't want to wait too long to start the work. Also I told her I wanted to see a breakdown of my charges.
Next day I called my insurance and was told Aspen needed to fax over - yep a list of the procedures and charges. Called her and the first words were "Are you ready to set up your appt so we can get started on your beautiful smile?" Told her what the insurance wanted from her and she said she would do that right away. Next day called insurance - nothing recieved. Next day called, same thing. Called her and she would check on it and resend it right away. Next day Insurance late in the day and nothing.
Called Aspen again, yes same girl. What I got out of her was another, "Are ready to make your appt." Now she has always been upbeat and cheery sounding but tonite I wasn't having it. Told her I requested 2 things - fax lists of costs to insurance and I wanted a copy of the same thing, not just one line saying $6000. Then she goes into how crazy work has been so busy and she is so tired. I thought to myself, "Hell I am too but I put my 8 hours in without telling my clients that I get tired but I do my job." Told her I'm not doing anything till both those papers are relieved.
And of course absolutely nothing ever happened except 3 months later sending me a bill for $28. Which I ignored 2x and it stopped. Thought if their front office is so inept did not want to trust anyone there. Went Ardent much later and loved everything about them. And before I left them the first day without asking I had a extremely detailed list of procedures and they handle the insurance. I have had extensive dental work done, since I was 7. I have bad teeth. To be honest, I probably did not brush as often and never flossed. I'm now 42. Last week, after having tooth pain for the last year, the pain was too much. After work, I was driving home and just asked Google for dentists near me. Luckily, Aspen was the closest.
I got in the next morning at 8:45 a.m. First I will share all I had done. I had a screening, Xrays and exam. From Tues Oct 30 until today Nov 6 2018 I had 7 fillings, a root canal, prep for 3 crowns. Keep in mind it had been 5+ years since I'd been in a dental chair. Now the staff. This was my experience at Aspen Dental in NORTH CHARLESTON. From the moment I walked in Leah, at the front desk, was friendly and compassionate. The hygienist Denise has a gentle touch and is extremely knowledgeable and great at explaining everything. Carol, Cheryl and Vanessa all assisted the dentists, Dr. ** and the other dentist who did my root canal.
All staff, and I do mean ALL staff were very friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable, caring and funny. I can honestly say that this was the best experience I've ever had at a dental office. The team is a dream team. My other experiences, at other practices (in Canada and other USA cities) were not bad... Just not this comfortable or accommodating. This IS a real review. I am a real person. My background is not in dentistry... so believe me I was just as scared as the next guy to have to even go in. Oh... I'm also not made of money. Robyn was the office gal who handles the finances. They helped me apply for and receive credit from a third party company to pay.
I will be a patient for life. After this experience I'm not worried days before about all that. I'm anticipating. Great staff! Great experience! I personally highly recommend. I'm originally from Calgary Alberta Canada. Adding that TidBit of info so people know I value polite and friendly service and so that no one thinks I wrote a review because I'm related to anyone who works there. I am not. Just a real person who is highly satisfied.

I am self pay." Then said I would have to be 'worked in' for the repair, if they could even do it at all and have to wait and be worked in. I walked out. Like a used car dealership in there! HARD SELL SCAM ARTISTS. DO NOT GO! THANKS ASPEN DENTAL, I would rather go to the funeral with half a front tooth than sit in your upsell chair!!!! Unethical company. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. I don't know what to do at this point but they took advantage of a 81 year old man. I know they did procedures he did not need! But he's old and naive. Breaks my heart.

Had a bottom partial and teeth whitening done 09/17. Paid for everything upfront. I agreed to the amount and paid it. About 6 months later starting getting bills for $700.00 for balance due. I requested the reason and they said it was coded wrong . Then I got another bill for $328.00 so again I asked what is this for and they said, "You never paid for teeth whitening." So I proved I paid for Teeth whitening and the $1100.00 bill at the beginning. Now they say, "Your insurance didn't pay the full amount so you owe us $328.00". I finally did my homework and realized they have been doing this a long time. Tomorrow I will be taking out a small claims action against CEO Robert Fontana @ East Syracuse NY for the amount of $ 328.20. The company's actions have been deceptive and will not allow them to do a shakedown like the thousands of customers who have preceded me.

Aspen Dental is a very dishonest company! A bunch of crooks! I left a bad review before for the Vero Beach office, because they didn't contour my front tooth correctly, and their fillings on my molars came out and needed to be redone by a professional dentist elsewhere. I want my money back from Aspen on wasted dental work, or at least have them pay my Care Credit off. I spent at least a wasted $700. I spoke with the manager and gave him a written report from Tiffany ** office, and I never heard a word back from my local office, nor the corporate office! And Aspen didn't post my review beforehand, making Aspen a very dishonest company. I will never recommend Aspen to anyone, unless they plan to waste their money on cheap dental work with quantity over quality.

I recently changed jobs and my new company has dental insurance with Aspen Dental. I went today for a twice yearly checkup and cleaning. I was apprehensive about going to Aspen because of their reputation. And I would prefer to pick my own dentist. Anyway, I get there and they immediately do a ton of xrays of my mouth. Then I am moved to another room and a hygienist comes in to explain the xrays to me. She tells me right away that I have bone loss and the beginnings of gum disease. Mind you, my previous dentist NEVER EVER mentioned this to me. And I had been going to her for 15 years. The Aspen people never asked for any of my dental history and refused to even discuss it.
Then they said they couldn't clean my teeth because I had been diagnosed with bone loss and gum disease. And I needed an expensive deep cleaning treatment to prevent further disease. When the doctor came in I began questioning her and she got very defensive with me and said that she went to school for many years and she knew what she was talking about. And this was without even examining my mouth!!! I am so disgusted with the visit today. All they want to do is sell expensive treatments. They don't care about you as a patient, they don't want to know any of your history. I am really surprised they are allowed to stay in business. The place is a joke and a sham.

I was one of the people who gave them five stars after the first visit. I agreed they were very nice, but I gave them zero stars after my treatments. I don’t like the way they practice. I was going to have a filling and a crown (about $1600 work), but I ended up having $4521 “work” in Aspen. I had a dental exam and cleaning in another dental office this April. Because that dentist was not the provider of my insurance company, I had to change dentist for my filling and crown. Aspen didn’t accept my dental record from my prior dentist. I thought that was fine because they gave their new patients free X-ray. Now I understand why they don’t accept the dental record from another dental office. Most dentists accept dental record from another dental office. They use their own “High” standard so that they can charge more.
First time I visit Aspen was in May. The hygienist gave me a dental exam, and then the dentist talked with me and persuaded me to have a gum treatment. She said that my gum had some problem, and my teeth would fall off if I didn’t treat it, but she didn’t show me my perio chart. I asked whether they had a periodontal specialist. She said that they had one in another office and the specialist could come by appointment. I knew that I should not have a serious problem because I had my teeth cleaning twice a year. My prior hygienist didn’t say that I had any gum disease, but she said that I didn’t clean my last molar very well. Plus, most of the dental offices don’t provide gum treatment.
Therefore, I thought that was the best time that I would have a deep cleaning if it were a necessary treatment. I asked the benefits specialist (Ms. **) to call my insurance company to make sure that my insurance would pay 50% of the treatment cost. I told her that I would not want the treatment if my insurance company wouldn’t pay 50% of the cost. I believe that it is a necessary treatment if my insurance pays for it. After she was on the phone for a while, she told me that my insurance would pay 50% of the cost. Therefore, I had financial aid plan for $2241 after my insurance. Ms. ** didn’t explain anything about the treatment. She only told me the price of the gum treatment about $3000. I asked her whether this price included the free perio-maintenance. She didn’t say anything and only gave me a pretty smile. I assumed that the price included the perio-maintenance.
The second visit I had my gum treatment. The same hygienist who did my exam did the treatment. It took less than 30 minutes. I felt something wasn’t right. It was too expensive for $3000 treatment in 30 minutes with a hygienist, but I thought it was all right because it included free maintenance. After a week, I had my third visit for my filling and temporary crown. I told the dentist that my gum had more blood than before. She said that was temporary. It should be fine later. When she worked on the filling, she told me that the filling was too deep and might need a root canal, but she tried to save it. She did it. I truly appreciate her at that moment.
After a few days, I had my fourth visit for two little fillings. I told the dentist that the bleeding was still the same and I felt very uncomfortable on my right side which was the same side had the temporary crown. She asked me which tooth was. I said that I could not tell which one. I asked her to check on it, but she said that she could not check it because I didn’t know which tooth. Instead, she asked me to show her how to floss my teeth. After I showed her how I flossed my teeth with dental floss, she said, “Oh, my God! You hurt your gum so hard.” She showed me a plastic floss pick and said that she used it for her teeth. I told her that my children used this kind of floss pick. Then, she said, “Let’s keep eyes on it.”
After about a week, I went back for my permanent crown. I told the dentist that my tooth was very, very, very sensitive. She said that it was normal and would be gone soon. She was going to numb my tooth because the pain was very sharp when she touched my tooth. I said no because I never had pain like that for my prior crowns. She should check it. However, she put the crown on my tooth. The symptom did not go away; instead, it was getting worse.
After a few weeks, I had to make an emergency appointment, but the operator told me that I needed to pay $89 for the X-ray and exam because my insurance had reached the maximum amount. She made sure that I would pay $89 and then scheduled appointment for me. If I did not have $89, I might suffer the pain until I die. This time she checked my teeth and found out that was the tooth with the new crown. The nerve of that tooth had an infection. She had to refer me to another doctor for the root canal. However, I had great experience in the root canal dental office.
After three months of my gum treatment, I had my first perio-maintenance. When I checked in, the receptionist asked me to pay $96 for the maintenance. I questioned why I needed to pay it. I thought that my dental plan (finance plan) had included the cost for the maintenance. Ms. ** said that the maintenance was $299. Because my benefit had maximized, I needed to pay $96 for the remaining. She said that was in the paper. Yes, I should check my dental plan. I never checked my dental plan for my previous dentists because I trusted their professionalism. My previous dentists told me everything that I should know, but this dentist didn’t tell me the things that I should know. The most embarrassing thing was that they made me pay $96 before my maintenance cleaning.
Moreover, this cleaning was the worst cleaning I had never had. It was another hygienist. During the cleaning, I had to stop her a few times to dry my neck and my face. After the cleaning, my collar was wet. However, she took about 40 minutes to clean my teeth, longer than the first time. Afterward, I checked all the documents that Ms. ** gave to me. I didn’t have the detailed treatment of my dental plan. She only gave me the “Treatment Acceptance and Payment Arrangement Form” which it was for the financial aid and some information about my financial plan. I was stunned that I was charged $135 for the Oral-B electronic toothbrush. I thought it was free for the three thousand dollars treatment when the hygienist gave it to me. Ms. ** didn’t ask me whether I wanted it.
I have used Philips Sonicare electronic toothbrush for years. If she asked me, I would say “no.” She knew that my insurance would not pay for gum treatment. If I read the form, I would know that I paid most of the cost for my gum treatment. She gave me insurance discounts for a few of the items. I asked my insurance company whether my dentists called for asking for my benefit. My insurance company had the records for my dentist before Aspen and the root canal dentist, no record shows that someone from Aspen called for my benefit. The form stated that sixteen of my teeth should have antibiotic, but I felt that she didn’t work on that many teeth. I am sure that she worked on the molars. Plus, she took less than 30 minutes. She was “HIGH” speed. Otherwise, I received two bills from Aspen after my treatment.
One bill was the item that she gave me the insurance discounts on the payment arrangement, but she charged me. Another bill was the item that I had paid through the financial company, but the bill stated that I paid less than what I had paid, so I had to pay the difference. I showed the bills to Ms. **, but she said that I needed to talk with my insurance company. I asked her, “Aspen sent these bills to me, not my insurance company. Why I need to ask my insurance?” She said, “I don’t know how these happen.” Then, I called my insurance company. My insurance company said that Aspen needed to answer the question on the bills and explain to me my benefit and clarify those overcharge. I talked with Ms. ** again. She said that was my insurance company’s opinion.
She didn’t overcharge me, but she gave me a refund for the teeth brush and $133 for X-ray which was not the cost in the form. She gave me another payment list and told me that she used this list for payments. “She might have another list for herself.” She said that she didn’t know what happen on the bills and how to correct the bills. I asked who could help me. She said that she didn’t know. I asked her whom I could call. She gave me a phone number. I called the number, but it was an answering machine. It answers, “For billing inquiries and questions, please contact your local office. If you have a farther question, please contact the region manager.”
They never showed me my perio chart. After all my treatment, I asked the copies of my perio charts. I was shocked. Most of my gum have 5’s, and some of them even have 6’s. I had dental exams this March and April, and both dentists didn’t say that my gum was so bad. However, I had my teeth cleaned twice a year. If my gum health was so bad, my dentists would tell me. I got a copy of my perio chart in this April from another dentist. My gum didn’t have any 5’s. They used “HIGH” standard. However, I compared the chart from May and August (same standard).
My gum health hasn’t improved a lot, some of them even worse than before. For example, my #18 tooth was 3 2 6 and 3 2 5 at May, but it was 5 3 5 and 5 3 5 at August. How does this happen? I paid about $1500 out of pocket for gum treatment, but I didn’t get the result that it should be. I questioned Ms. ** about the result, and she said that she could make an appointment for redoing the work. After these unpleasant experiences, I don’t want them to touch my teeth anymore. I felt they tricked me for having the unnecessary treatment. The cost is high, and the quality of service is low. I should have my lawyer with me so that he could read the documents before I signed them.

CONSUMERS BEWARE! If you have to have a full mouth extraction, they are going to recommend that you go with the ComfiLyte denture, which comes with a healing denture, placed immediately after your extractions, followed by a brand new permanent replacement after your extraction sites heal 6 months later. This "top of the line" denture that they offer cost the office $17 to make!
Please do not believe this scam! Do not get thousands of dollars of financing on these cheap dentures! After the costs of the extractions, the immediate and permanent dentures and all of the procedures they charge you for BUT DO NOT PERFORM, ie, frenulectomy and alveoplasty. It can cost you upwards of $5,000. Included in this "top of the line denture" should be a process of picking your gum color and teeth shade. THEY SHOULD BUT they don't give you this option during your initial consultation, they take an impression and might ask you to pick from a minimal number of shades.
If you have already fallen victim to this scam, please be aware that the offices are independently owned but operated by Aspen ADMI. Many of the doctors who are working for them are there because they are foreigners, not citizens of this country and until they are, they cannot get their license to open their own practice. They are under pressure to PRODUCE PRODUCE PRODUCE, the entire staff is poorly trained and they are all protected under the "Corporate Umbrella". Most of these practices also do not accept state-funded dental insurance, so the state in which they are operating cannot regulate them.
IF you just went into the office to get a new set of dentures and are still under warranty, make an appointment for an adjustment or walk in and RECORD EVERYTHING, while you are there ask to speak with the doctor and lab technician about your concerns! If you didn't get the option to pick the proper gum shade for your skin pigment, if you weren't given the choice on the shade of your teeth and if your dentures are constantly causing you pain and sore spots, (which can cause CANCER) ask for a refund. They will offer to place a "COURTESY SOFT LINER". Absolutely decline and insist on your refund.
I say to record your interaction with the office staff because, if you leave the dentures there, they cannot report you to collections especially if they refused to offer you a refund. DO NOT EVER ADJUST YOUR OWN DENTURE BECAUSE IT AUTOMATICALLY VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY! Basic denture is 6 month warranty. Classic denture is 1 year warranty. NaturaLyte denture is 3 year warranty. ComfiLyte denture is 7 year warranty.

SIMPLE EXTRACTION[!]. STARTING AT: $124 was $154. This was the worse experience in my life of going to a dentist. We had called in to get a quote on a broken tooth and getting an implant to replace it. We were told $1500.00, so we made an appointment. Aspen Dental said they would just go straight to the oral surgeon. (Didn’t bother telling me that there would be an additional $127.00 fee, otherwise I wouldn’t of even taken the appointment.). The office area was in such disarray that no one knew what was going on. We'll take an x-ray, no we won't, let’s take you back. I was taken back and had a seat, asked a couple questions about my health and that they could pull my tooth today.
Not sure who the man was that was looking at my tooth as he didn't even introduce himself or shake my hand. He was in scrubs just like the rest of the dental assistants. Less than 4 minutes, I was taken back up from to the billing desk and told the implant would cost $6000.00. Wow. A huge difference from $1500.00. Looking over the tooth extraction it appeared my portion of it was $33.00. I said I would go with the tooth extraction, and then the billing clerk said oh, my portion would also include $210.00 for numbing??? And insurance doesn't cover that?? What?? I asked the price of the tooth extraction doesn't cover numbing? She said "NO". I said then I will pass on that and check with another Dentist.
She then said, I still owe for a consultation of $127.00? I asked what consultation? Well you met with Dr. ? I said I don't know that name and no one introduced themselves as such? I said I was back in that room less than 4 minutes to see if I was going to have my tooth extracted, which could be done by a regular dentist. So Aspen scheduled me with an Oral Surgeon and then asked I had a referral note for him? I said Aspen dental scheduled it knowing that a broken tooth needs to be extracted first and then 3 to 4 months later the implant process would begin. Why wasn’t the billing expense done first? Aspen Dental failed in the basic process of "Consulting" with the patient first, especially when springing a $6000.00 procedure on them.
I would never go back to this poorly ran business. Aspen Dental admitted that they shouldn’t of quoted a price over the phone and that it took them a while to get through the billing to come up with the $6000.00. I told them I wouldn't even have scheduled an appointment if they would have told me up front that the price went from $1500.00 to $6K. She said I would still have to pay the consultation fee? I said bill me. She said no, it has to be paid now? After knowing the mistakes the office staff have made, still trying to get me to pay? Unreal. She then went on that they would send me a bill and if I didn't pay it that it would go to collections, so now I am being threatened. A great way to run an office. I said I would send them a bill for my time and misrepresentation they put me through.
I went to the waiting room where lo and behold, within 15 mins I heard another couple questioning their experience and imagine that overbilling discrepancies and charges. Beware and go straight to the billing clerk first to find out what your real charges are going to be and don't be surprised when they are tripled of what your expecting. Right out in their lobby they have a sign and brochure stating, "Peace of mind PROMISE," "No Surprises," "we will provide a clear, detailed estimate on the cost of your treatment plan in writing so you know what to expect." This office failed miserably in its basic code of ethics, that it proudly displays in its lobby. Check out their website, basic tooth extraction starts at $124.00?
If they do send me a bill, I will go to small claims court and have a Magistrate decide if I owe them $127.00 for a consultation to tell me I would now owe $6000.00 for an implant and $243.00 dollars to extract a broken tooth. (It would be $33.00 if I choose not to have it numb first). Really? What Dentist would put a patient through that?

The staff and Drs. are really friendly and polite people. I respect them all and they are respectable and courteous people. The wait time is exhausting because there is only one dentist in the office. The dentures I have are poorly made. I got them in the middle of this September 2018, and I have gone back for 3 adjustments and I have to use these dentures. I keep explaining to them that I can't chew with and that they are really bulky. I wouldn't have got any new dentures had I not broken the lower plate of my old ones. Aspen Dental, dentures are made totally wrong.
I shouldn't have to go back that many times and still can't use the teeth. I have worn dentures for 11 years that I bought from Affordable Dentures and I only had 1 adjustment and that was on the day of getting my permanent teeth. The sad thing is that I paid less for my old dentures than I paid for the ones from Aspen which are not quality. I am disappointed and will never go back there. All I want now is to get a full refund to get a new set from somewhere that I can actually use.

We made an appointment for new dentures and extractions in the Dedham MA location in March. Before any work was done they charged the financing company for the full cost of dentures and extractions. They billed my insurance company by their coding $440 towards the extractions of (18 teeth) and $1,259.10 towards the dentures. The dentures never fit correctly so we exercised our rights to the 90 Day Warranty. At that time we found out that the office manager in Dedham MA office coded $1,259.10 towards the cost of the dentures and not the extractions.
I have requested numerous times for an explanation as to just what the cost of the dentures are and have yet to get any replies. They did credit approximately $2,500.00 towards the cost of the dentures. We are now in the process of having them reverse the cost paid by our insurance to go towards the extractions (which should have happened in the first place). I have to pay Dental First $150.00 per month or my credit will be ruined. Until this issue has been resolved stay away from Aspen Dental. Run-don't-walk and Dental First Financing.

One appointment I sat and waited for 3 hrs before even getting seen. My dentures were not even half paid for and the upper plate cracked, they repaired it very poorly. If I hold my denture up to the light, I can see through them. Then they cracked in another place shortly after. Aspen then said I need a new plate. I was so angry because they would replace the one I had, that was not even paid FOR! And now I have 4 cracks and a hole that I can literally see through.
Aspen got paid because I financed my dentures and 6 years later as of early 2018 they are paid for and barely together. I have an appointment this Mon with a REAL DENTIST and that care for the patient. I have to get a whole new plate. Aspen Dental is the WORST place to go for dentures. Told me I needed $4800 worth of work, took crazy amounts of pictures with an already sore mouth and sent me home with an Antibiotic and still in a lot of pain.
I think it's pretty unfair that I go to the dentist to get help with issues going on with my teeth and leave feeling worse than I did when I got there. I don't care what the situation is in the world, if I'm there for pain obviously I'm in a lot of pain you can see the abscess yet you send me home with an antibiotic and tell me it'll take 2 to 3 days to start working. I tried everything before going to the dentist and nothing worked to get rid of the pain. Yesterday, I went to Aspen Dental – Athens – for my first appointment with them. It was for a routine cleaning, which I have done twice a year, every year. We moved here from California, where I have been seeing the same dentist for decades. At 70 years of age, I have all of my teeth and extremely good oral hygiene habits and practices. To my amazement and disappointment, they “diagnosed” me with periodontal disease that needed $1400 worth of work – my insurance would cover $400 (according to them) – and they had a financing “plan” that I could take advantage of, if I needed to, covering the balance. Then, they would not do a routine cleaning because I “had been diagnosed”!
To add insult to injury, included in my invoice was a battery powered “electric toothbrush,” which I did not want or need. (I have been using a Sonicare brush system for years – brushing with it a minimum of twice a day for two minutes each session – even taking it with me while traveling! They never asked me about my at-home dental care.) My gums NEVER bleed, do not hurt, are not reddened and my gums and teeth are not sensitive to heat and/or cold. My gums are not receding. The search is on for a good dentist in Athens (or nearby) that appreciates and treats patients with proper care and respect. Aspen Dental does not make it on that list.

They told me I needed $2,524.00 worth of work on my gums before they could even think about cleaning my teeth... What?? Are you kidding me... like I said I have perfect teeth, no cavities, and I have been to a dentist twice a year for my entire life. Needless to say I used a Waterpik a bit more, went to a REPUTABLE dentist three weeks later who then did panoramic films, cleaned my teeth, told me to floss more and that was the end of it. No mention of gum disease or $2500.00 services.
Be careful of this wolf in sheep's clothing. They try to act like they are community oriented and affordable when all they want to do is rip people off. Stay away... Far away... Went to Aspen Dental in Williston, VT for a consultation because I needed a new crown. My main reason was in the hope of saving money because I had seen special discount advertised for crowns which was false. What a mistake!!! I should have looked at the reviews. First visit, met with a dentist (owner) who told me that I did need a new crown and that there was some decay under it and that I should get it done asap. Second visit, a different dentist did the crown preparation. Third visit, different dentist tells me that he can't finish the crown, that the tooth needs to be pulled or I need to get bone grafting. Former dentist did not tell me that. I decided to get the tooth pulled since I can't afford to go see a periodontist. He pulls my tooth and breaks the perfectly good crown besides it. Doesn't apologize and tells me that there's a cavity under it anyway so I would have needed to get it replaced anyway.
I was very upset and I decided to get a second opinion to be told that there is no cavity under the tooth. They just didn't want to admit their mistake. Paid for a crown preparation for nothing, lost a tooth, left with a broken crown. Ended up going to a different dentist and had to get a new crown made for $1500. No savings. Do not go to Aspen Dental. They will suck you in with free x-rays and then tell you that you need all kinds of stuff done. Plus each visits, I had to wait between 30 min to 45 minutes before getting seen. Horrible experience and now I can't eat the same way that I used to eat since I have lost that tooth.

I have no dental insurance so I went to Aspen Dental with a bad tooth. I was asked what future I had for my teeth, that I have periodontal disease and am in need of dentures immediately. They wouldn't take care of the problem tooth unless I had them all pulled. I then heard them tell the person in the next chair the exact same thing.
I was then swept into another office where a gentleman attempted to persuade me to get all of my teeth pulled and get dentures. He gave me options and prices and said that I would be better off to get it all done at once. I never went back. About a year later I went to a real dentist due to problems with the tooth I had gone to Aspen Dental for. This dentist pulled the one tooth and told me I do have periodontal disease but my teeth are solid and I can keep them for many years. I am so happy I didn't listen to Aspen Dental. Please get a second opinion if you go there.

My dentist could not get me in til November, so I went to a local Aspen Dental. They gave me an exam and x-ray, and told me I had gum loss, and periodontal disease, which is not true because my dentist told them so when they asked for my records. I called them to see about coming in for a cleaning and they told me I would have to pay $250.00 and come back every 3 months. Stay away from Aspen Dental.

Please everyone listen to me. STAY AWAY FROM ASPEN DENTAL IN OXFORD ALABAMA. They are terrible. They’ll cause you to have an infection after extraction, giving you partials they do not fit, and they basically don’t care. They are a total ripoff. If you finance through Dental First they will damn near take every dime you were financed before even doing any work on you. I returned a partial 2 weeks ago, $799, ask me have that money been refunded to Dental First. I don’t even have a card from Dental First and probably won’t get one.
Also they did a Periodontal on me that should of been done in 3 sessions. No not Aspen they did 2 sessions in one day without telling me and I canceled the 3 session but they already took the money. I hate that I didn’t read the reviews first. I would of never went to these CROOKS. After I get through acting a ** Monday someone better refund this money or I will be talking to a lawyer. I refuse to pay for a partial I don’t have or work that will not get done. ** Aspen!!!

I went for a first visit and the dentist rambled off all these things I needed done. Of course even though I have dental insurance, 99% of what I needed was not covered they said. After I left her chair, I went into Phyllis' office who sat there and typed in all these codes. She then printed out the sheet and said, "This is how much everything will cost you." "Can you help with the costs," I asked. No was her reply. I glanced down at the sheet and saw that they were charging me for the 3 cavities. I said my coverage covers in full cavities of 2 per year. Oh she says and types in more codes. I then look and say, "Why are you charging for one cavity?" Phyllis says, "Because you are only covered for 2 per year." I then said, "Then take it off and in January I'll have the third one done and it will be covered." She did not like that I suggested this.
I then called after I received an email offering me 25% off dental and dentures. I was literally on the phone OVER AN HOUR trying to make an appointment. I was put on hold at least 6 times by the young receptionist. All I wanted to do was make a appointment and go over the total amount I would owe the day I went in. Then I was told I had to literally go in and pay for everything that needed to be done PRIOR to me going in for the work. I said, "I was told that all work had to be paid for on the day of service?" No I was told. I had to drive to the office pay in advance then I could make an appointment... Then I wanted to apply my 25% off coupon and she told me that, "Oh no that is only for people who do not have any dental insurance." I said that is not specified and legally they had to give me the 25% off. Then yes I was put on hold again.
When she came back I asked if I could pay in full over the phone and give her my credit card and she said no. Now at this point I feel like they really don't want my business and I kept my cool. She said she could take the 25% off and then started adding to my bill procedures that were not needed. I tried to stop her and explain that she was adding the 4 month down the road maintenance and not to include that. Yes you guessed it, once again I was put on hold. Now to make matters worse, Phyllis picks up the phone during one of hold sessions and answers, "What can I do for you today?" I say, "Excuse me but who am I speaking with please?" Her answer, Phyllis. I then say, "Hi Phyllis, but I don't know who you are so what do you do at the office and why was I transferred to you?" Her answer, "Well I can't help you anyway because I am with a patient right now, so I'll have to put you back on hold..."
Now a man who said he was a dentist picked up the phone. He did NOT give me his name so I literally have no idea to whom I was speaking. He asked what the issue was and I went down the list that I had already gone down THREE TIMES with the receptionist and I told him the full amount I owed and he agreed that I was correct as far as what services were needed. I then said and I can now take the 25% off. He then put me on hold and the girl also with NO NAME came back on and told me that now they would NOT ACCEPT the 25% off. I said, "But you just told me you would accept it," and she said, "No. It only covers dental work." I said, "I am having dental work." I said, "What dental work is actually included in this coupon," and she her reply was, "Um.... just fillings." I said, "This is legally not right as there is no clause nor anything specifying what the 25% off can and cannot be used for."
At this point my heart was beating and I had had enough. I checked with TEN OTHER LOCAL DENTISTS in the St. Augustine Florida area and told them what I needed and Aspen Dental was the highest out of all of them. They overcharge and are so unprofessional. Never in my life did I think making a simple appointment for a dental visit and to give them business would be a major ordeal. I wrote back and let her know so that was too much for right now but stated specifically what I did want. There was no response, I called and emailed and still no response. This went on for two weeks. Finally I got hold of Julie who informed me that after some research that the dentist was afraid to lose her license if she didn't perform all the prescribed work. Frustrated I simply asked her to send me an email stating that for my records. That was a week ago. They will force you into procedures you don't want by fabricating stories. The hygienist sat behind me facing opposite direction. Did not know she was even speaking to me. Then the dentist came behind me and showed me X-ray's on the screen. Never saw his face. Said I needed an extraction, fillings, and caps. Never asked about pain I was in. Never looked in my mouth. Sent me to financing to set all that up. I told them I only wanted an antibiotic, pain meds, and the tooth pulled in 3 days as I have to work. They gave me a runaround about insurance. Still never looked in my mouth, and sent me off with an antibiotic. Face swollen obviously in pain.
I'm no pill popper but when it comes to tooth pain I'd rather go through back labor all over again. I know after a few days of antibiotics the pain should subside, but how cruel! Well the price to get it under control would cost me $650 so I ask about payment plans and instantly I was told by the biller "A" that I could qualify for dental credit (a credit card) so I decided to do this with the knowledge of billing anything in the USA you must submit the claim to the insurance no matter if the insurance is going to deny the claim or not. Do what is correct. LET THE INSURANCE DENY THE CLAIM FIRST before billing the patient. She did not and the part of the 650 was a electric toothbrush, 2 toothpaste, and some mouthwash.
I have contacted my insurance and they have told me that my claim is just sitting there waiting on Aspen to submit more information so they could see if they would pay anything, of course the billing person has been called along with her boss and NO ONE has returned my phone calls. These people are lying and tricking people out of their hard earned money. What they did was get me on this service but they should best believe that I have more times to visit the dentist along with my children and grandchildren along with where I work and know a lot of people in town, what am saying is that I will make sure ALL AND I MEAN "ALL" will know how they are handling business once they suck you in and drain you dry.

Updated on 09/19/2018 : On 9/11/2019, I submitted my negative review to Aspen Dental - Gaylord, MI Google review site. I had a voicemail message a couple of hours later from the Office Manager Michael to discuss my review. I called him back the next day & his main interest was defending their lack of providing my credit in a timely manner. He stated that I had signed the form that it would be credited to future work. That statement was accurate, EXCEPT that I had already had the appointment that it was to be given in July (per their document) and it was now my August appointment & I was still trying to convince them that I was due a credit.
For my June appointment that I rescheduled to July, their paperwork stated: "$353.25 minus the credit". He, of course, did not want to discuss the pain from the Novocaine shot sites or the chewed up inside of my lip & cheek since I did not take the 1 hour drive back over to have them investigated. If it had been where the fillings were done I surely would have.

I had previously had it patched up this way and it lasted for several years. It popped off and I inquired about A) repairing the chip, and B) a cleaning. I was told I had to make an appointment for an estimate, but a basic exam and X-rays would be free because I have no dental insurance. I make the appointment for 3:30 the following day. I arrive on time to my appointment and fill out all 5 pages of paperwork.
I get called to the back and after about 10 or so x-rays, I was put in a room to wait. The hygienist came and completed the gum probe. She pushed down so hard on my gums in the back, (it really hurt and it has never hurt before) that I could taste blood. "Oh your gums are bleeding. You have periodontal disease." But the usual signs of this, I don't have. (Bleeding gums, red gums, tooth loss, etc.). I was told I have periodontal disease/gingivitis and needed a deep cleaning. She leaves. I sit there alone for 45 minutes fretting about my gums and my teeth. Finally the dentist comes in. He tells me I need a deep cleaning and that they won't do the dental bonding on my front tooth, only a crown, that will cost about $1,100.
They send me to the consultant to discuss my treatment. (Deep cleaning, crown and other sneaky crap). It was almost $4,000! It the bill included a toothbrush for $135 (that if you look it up, it connects to your cellphone via Blue Tooth). I couldn't have a regular cleaning or do partial treatments. She pushed for me to try to get signed up for CareCredit type program. I would have to finance the whole amount that day. I also could not get my chipped tooth fixed until I had the "deep cleaning and periodontal disease treatment" which was anywhere between $81 and $121 per side of the tooth. On 8/9/18 I went to Aspen Dental in Sherman Texas for an exam & x-ray due to a problem I was having with a tooth. Aspen x-rayed all my teeth for free & are to be commended for this. Upon viewing the x-rays & exam, the dentist did not find any visible damage with the tooth that was bothering me. The dentist then pointed out a couple of small cavities in 2 other teeth, (which were not bothering me at that moment). I had mentioned to the dentist that one of the cavities had been previously filled & I had (another) dentist check that one out previously, because the filling was a darker color than the rest of the tooth & the other dentist said the filling was fine & that it was just stained from coffee.
Aspen's dentist said the filling was no longer there & then proceeded to take his sharp instrument used for scraping & cleaning teeth & proceeded to push it into the cavity that had the previous filling extremely hard, deliberately & intentionally causing the cavity to need immediate repair. He was either doing this to cause the cavity to be worse, or he was removing the existing filling that he said wasn't there, but I believe it was still there. The tooth bothered me ever since he did that & was causing me no trouble before. If I could prove what he did, I would immediately file a lawsuit, but I'm sure he would just say he was doing a routine exam blah, blah, blah. But when you have to grab & hold the side of my head to keep it from moving due to the force you are applying to a tooth while just examining it, that’s a bunch of crap.
But like I say, I have no way of proving anything, unless Aspen has cameras in the exam rooms. Hmmm, That’s a thought, I better check on that for an upcoming lawsuit. Anywho, after the dentist finished deliberately destroying my previously filled tooth, I was led up front for a price quote to repair his intentional damage & the 1 other small cavity that I had in another tooth. I was then lied to & told that Aspen Dental does not do "Amalgam Fillings". (Possibly the person giving me the pricing was just uneducated about what Aspen does & does not do.)
If it is true the Aspen does not do "Amalgam Fillings", (and I don’t believe it is), then Aspen needs to take "Amalgam Fillings" off of their website, & state on their website that they do not do those types of fillings. Because Aspen gave me a free exam & x-rays, I would have allowed Aspen to repair the cavities despite their inflated prices, but due to Aspens dishonest quack dentist & their deceptive practices, I will never go back to Aspen Dental & will let all I come into contact with know about my wonderful experiences there. I am scheduled to have my teeth fixed at a reputable dentist on Thursday 8/32/18 at half the cost that Aspen Dental wanted. Currently seeking legal advice on the other stuff & will be filing a complaint with Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. Do yourself a favor & stay away from this place. Far, Far away.

She began to talk to me like a child with a metaphor of the left shoe being old and the right shoe being new would not work and that it would cost more. NOW was it that it would cost me more or was it that she didn't know how?
Nevertheless that should have been left to me. When I stopped her to say "You are really talking loud and anyone out there could hear you" (she had no doors). She said "No they can't. The TV is on." I lost a filling so thought I would try Aspen. What a mistake! I was told nothing could be done without a deep cleaning! And I had to return in three months for another before anything could be done. The cleaning would cost over $1500.00! Then he said I needed a crown, at $1500.00! So over $3,000.00 for this. What a rip off. After reading reviews I see that everyone is told they need a deep cleaning, really? Never again, wish I had read the reviews before I wasted my time. They don't even deserve one star!

I went to Aspen Dental in North Charleston SC yesterday thinking I may have a cavity, (obviously before I read any reviews on the place unfortunately). I was told I have one small cavity somewhere completely different from where I thought it was and that I needed a "deep cleaning". I was told my cavity couldn’t be filled until I had this cleaning done. They charged me 940 dollars for a 45 minute cleaning with no **. And proceeded to tell me that I would need to pay another 400 for my small filling to prevent a root canal! I only allowed them to do the cleaning to begin with because I thought I was at least going to be receiving the service that I was paying for. I was shocked that they could charge so much for such shoddy work! I explained that I was a single mother and couldn’t afford the 3500 dollar treatment that they originally put for treatment plan.
They took off some antibiotic they wanted me on and got the treatment plan down to 1384.00, and then proceed to get me some credit card called dental first. They then told me that if I didn’t have the cleaning done that same day I may end up needing 1000s more worth of work done. So I let them do the deep cleaning thinking it would take a few hours at minimum and they may only be able to do half my mouth the first day along with some ** for the pain associated with the procedure. 45 minutes later and absolutely zero pain they say I’m done and charge me 940.80. Then they tell me I need to go back within the week to get my filling done which would be another 368.00 in order for the Dental credit card I just applied for to cover any of it. I told them I didn’t want them doing my filling and they said I still had to come back in next Monday to sign some other papers or that I would have a non payment on the whole treatment plan.
I went home and proceeded to call ten local dentist offices and asked how long a deep cleaning takes and what it involves. Am they all said it would take two two hour sessions and that they would need to give me ** because it would be very painful otherwise. When I told judgement I went to Aspen Dental and that they have me a “deep cleaning” in forty five minutes with no ** they said that would be impossible to do the work involved in that amount of time and that I would be in severe pain without medication. They said what I received was a regular cleaning that would cost 100-150 anywhere else, and that I probably didn’t even need the kind of cleaning that I was charged for. I think this is extremely unethical and very shady all the way around! I feel so scammed!

The last time we went in the whole staff was replaced with new people and they said they will get it right.
Well, my mom went back many many many more times to try to get fitted with a new denture and it fitted so horrible she could not wear them. I called and talked with the regional manager and I wanted a refund and Wendy offered to let my mom keep the 1st pair that fit OK (she could not eat with them) but she would give my mom the refund and use the OK dentures till she finds a new dentist and gets a new pair. There were 4 times appointments were changed/canceled of the total 6 appointments, some changes/canceled were made on the same appointment day which I already took day off from work, the last canceled appointment even with totally no any contacted (I checked all the calls). My kids and I get told after we had been waiting for more than a half hour at the front desk. And they didn't think that they did anything wrong, not even say a word "Sorry"!
I can't believe some people do the business this way. For these problems I may protect my rights by the law or they have to provide a corresponding list of historical calls, messages or emails to prove that they didn't default. Ever wonder why there is a problem with Aspen Dental? Research the Frontline Investigation which was broadcast on PBS in 2012. The Idaho Falls office dropped the ball. When transparency isn't the office's priority-then the patient suffers the consequences; "Your mouth-our mission," should be "Your wallet-our mission." Since when does an office manager withhold a detailed billing statement/"Treatment Plan" from a patient outlining costs and then provide one after the patient requests it-one which shows an amount close to twice as much as the original agreed upon amount? The office manager demonstrated a classic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde syndrome when approached about several issues, not to mention misrepresentation of an "Agreed Treatment Plan" and its costs.
Additionally, the ADA recommends an average time to do root planing and scaling per quadrant is approximately 45 minutes-how then does the hygienist complete 4 quadrants of 4+ teeth in an hour and 40 minutes? Could it be that the entire process was unnecessary? What about the generic patient instructions after deep cleaning? When ** (a local antibiotic) is placed subgingival in several regions, and brand labeling states that the patient should be instructed NOT to brush or floss the affected regions for 7 days, but the generic instructions state to do the opposite-it means the patient has just paid for a drain cleaner costing hundreds of dollars.
What about when the patient specifically instructs the hygienist not to perform a procedure if it costs any money-and the hygienist states that it doesn't and does it anyway? Finally, due to safety reasons and ADA guidelines, it isn't standard of practice for hygienists to use injectable local anesthetic on the entire mouth; it can cause swallowing difficulties, loss of mandibular function, and inadvertent tissue injury, because the patient can't feel anything! So what happened, the hygienist did just that, compromised patient safety and anesthetized the entire mouth, in order to get what should have been done in at least two separate visits, done in one. Wow, looks like reporting this incident to the State Attorney General, Idaho Dentistry Board, and Idaho ADA, is the way to go.

A complete cockup. I broke my lower denture while eating a month ago. They are three years old and are a perfect fit... allowing me to eat anything such as nuts and corn on the cob! Since I moved across the state of **, and a four hour drive is a long haul for the original denture clinic which did a fine job, I chose Aspen for the repair... Silly me. They did a great job of the repair, and did it for free! That is where the good stuff ends. They also took an impression at the first visit telling me that the original denture would just break again... so I needed a new lower. Fine... I should have run for the hills. Instead they took the impression and then a billing agent in the office met me to get payment... when I was still in the chair! I saw the doctor (assumed a prosthodontist) for like one minute.
Several weeks later I had the try in denture of wax. Now it was some other guy who seemed to know as much about dentures as a caveman knows about quantum physics. Where is the doctor? Then the next visit came the final denture and the try in... Do you remember the plastic vampire fangs we used to get that glowed in the dark? They cost one dollar at a five and dime store. Yea... pretty much the same fit. So painful and ill-fitting that I could not even wear them. They ground them (a nice young woman assistant who had as much of a clue about dentures as a mushroom), and they finally sort of fit, and felt like chewing on glass shards.
Fast forward to the next visit... Yea. I couldn't wear them at all in the two-weeks between visits. Thank God for the repaired old ones! The lowers hurt so bad I gagged and bled. They were like knife blades. So I go in and see them for an 'adjustment'. They refuse to start again with a new lower and impression and settle for a re-lining. Try relining a pair of candy wax monster teeth from the 1970s.
My point in all of this is the sheer incompetence at Aspen. No medical provider should be allowed to provide beyond poor expertise for a premium price. Cut-rate prices? See that is what they advertise... but the services and all the add-ons equal or exceed a professional dentist of private practice or an accredited outfit. (I think Aspen was accredited by North Korea. ;)) What you end up with is poor service, poor treatments and treatments you don't need, and since they pay so poorly and have a monetary goal structure forced by the corporate owners... all they get are poor employees and doctors who might want to intern under a drunken tooth puller at a 17th century pub in England with a pliers. Above all... they try to force you to pay ahead of time... DO NOT DO IT! Pay only after the work is completed. That way you have a way out...

Was then told I HAD TO HAVE extreme periodontal cleaning, which, nothing else can be done until that is done--which was quoted over $3,000, that included a toothbrush for over $100!
This was as I was sitting in some office with a manager, just like when you're buying a used car. I insisted on different estimates, scaling back on different things. I went in around the beginning of April 2018, to have a broken tooth repaired. Ended up having 4 fillings, tooth repaired, and then a recap on an old root canal, because the filling on it came out when they repaired the broken tooth. I had this root canal done 12 years ago, and had never had any problems with it. I was charged for that service because I HAD to have it fixed. I was in bad pain, and they told me it should subside in a few days. I was told I had a bad gums, and needed gingivitis treatments. They tried to get me to purchase a toothbrush for 132.00! There are so many more things I could add but time doesn't permit.
I went back to my prior dentist, and they said the tooth that was repaired had a fracture in it and should not have been filled; it needed a crown. Also, another tooth was deeply filled and needed a root canal, which I have since had done. So now I'm facing an extraction tomorrow, from the broken tooth, and owe over $2200.00 in dental fees, plus another 230.00 for the extraction. Mind you, I had NO pain when I originally went in, in April. And since I had dental work with them, I've been in constant pain for 3 months! I do not recommend Aspen to anyone.

I've been fortunate enough for most of my life to have healthy teeth. I have never had a cavity or any other major issues. But recently I did get a cavity. I could see a small one, so based on their "affordable" advertisements, I went in to get it filled. My story is very similar to many others I've been reading here. I get many xrays, then the hygienist comes in and does this assessment on my Gums. My Gums are pretty healthy. I floss and take care of them. No soreness, redness and no bleeding. She tells me that I have bad gum disease and will need a deep cleaning that will take a while, but they can get started today. Then the dentist comes in. She tells me that I have one tooth that will need to be pulled and an implant put in. The tooth with the cavity. Well I should think about maybe having a root canal!!!
I'm looking at the xrays, and it's not close to the root. It's like they put this stuff out there and then I wind up looking at them like What??? And then they backtrack and say, “Oh well maybe we can wait on the implant and tooth extraction... And the cavity isn't touching the root right now... But you need the deep gum cleaning.” Then I get taken to this room and handed a piece of paper telling me I need almost 2500.00 worth of work done to my mouth. And most of that is for the very infected Gums. I knew that wasn't right. I told her that I just wanted the cavity filled. The price I had been quoted on the phone just for the filling alone had somehow doubled also. I was told that I could not have my cavity filled without having the very costly deep cleaning which was almost 1500.00 alone, but I could take out a loan to do that.
I knew it was a scam. I could feel it. These people do this all day long, to everyone they possibly can. Some fall for it, and some don't. They acted very irritated when I questioned them. I'll be looking elsewhere for an honest dentist. Please don't go here!!! Trust your instincts! If you haven't had any pain or symptoms at all, and you go in for a simple cleaning or filling and are being told you need thousands of dollars of dental work done for issues you didn’t even know you had... Please leave that office. Get a second opinion. SCAM!!!

I have excellent teeth in great condition. No issues I was aware of. I requested a cleaning only, and of course they immediately demand a full x-ray which I did not want. Then they sat me down to review how much it would cost just to clean my teeth. In the itemized list was an electric toothbrush for $110.00 that was identical to the one I already have. That toothbrush was $35 through Amazon a year ago!
I felt insulted and wondered how many times they successfully rip people off because of added items not requested or even needed. There were other questionable items in the list and I should have walked out straight away but didn't because I thought how bad could it get if I pay attention? Well, they had me come back three times. Each time the amount was higher. When I left their office I asked the office manager to tell me if I was completely paid up, no more surprises, and she said all paid!
Three months later I am receiving bills from them for more money. Based on 30 years of me going to a dentist every six months, I feel that I paid too much already. I feel they created charges to get money from me they didn't need to, and that they overcharged for what I asked for. I feel they are not trustworthy and I would not recommend anyone use these places. Aspen Dental hides costs.

They have done 5 adjustments and my former dentist did another adjustment but I can't wear them unless I have the bone shaved off which Aspen Dental wants me to pay for plus permanent partials in September. I asked them to either give me a credit for the partials I can't wear towards the bone surgery or the permanent partials and they told me no. So I am paying close to a $1000 for something I cannot wear.
I have lost 28 lbs since April 2018 because I can't eat anything that isn't soft. No meat, nuts, chips, vegetables, fruits, etc. I live on mashed potatoes, pudding, soup, ice cream, etc as I have no molars left in by lower jaw. I believe Aspen Dental is only concerned about how much money they can make off of a person and every time you go see them they come up with something else you need done. I was even told by my former dentist that they pulled 2 teeth that didn't need to be pulled. I truly think that they should be put out of business because they prey on those who either don't have insurance, the elderly or those who come for one treatment and they tell them they need a bunch of other things done. I would highly recommend NO one ever go to them.

Not at all happy about the experience I encountered today at this place. When I originally called, I informed them that I would need an appoint. for a cleaning & that I would be a new patient. I also told them that my daughter was probably going to be a new patient as well but she had just had a cleaning somewhere else before the new year. I had changed insurance plans & didn't realize how limited I was going to be with options. They told me that I needed an appointment for a consultation, they would then decide on a treatment plan and schedule an appointment based on that outcome. That seemed very odd as no other dentist in my lifetime had ever handled a cleaning appointment in that fashion.
My gut told me this was going to be a waste of time. Upon arrival, we were asked to fill out paperwork, provide my insurance card as well as our SS#. I told her that she wasn't getting my SS# because that's for tax purposes not doctor appointments. She was not happy with that response & had somewhat of a rude about it. Very shortly after completing the paperwork, we were brought in for x-rays. That was quick & the woman was very nice. Loved her. When x-rays were done she brought us to the exam room. Our appointment was for 3 pm. Nobody else came to see us until I went out into the hallway at 4:30 and asked if someone had forgotten us.
Minutes later they finally came in. They looked at my daughter for all of five minutes and only pointed out a broken seal. They took a bit more time with me because they wanted to do a periodontal review that of which was done extremely fast unlike my other dentist who was meticulous. I also went over that I have a chemical sensitivity which doesn't only pertain to chemicals specifically. The list is much broader but it's always much easier for people to grasp when explained that way. We did not want fluoride treatment. Got asked why not. etc. When the woman who came in to actually take the periodontal measurements, she began to explain what she was going to do.
I simply let her know that I understood and knew what she was going to do because I have had it done before. She walked behind my head and my daughter said she gave a look of WTF to the other woman in the room. I saw my daughter's face when this happened so I knew something was up. THEN, another guy comes in and walks us to another room to review the "treatment plan" and costs involved. I felt like I was being escorted around to buy a car. My daughter's plan was a teeth cleaning and a sealant replacement. I had to remind them that she had already had a cleaning. They removed that charge and we were left with $20 for a sealant replacement.
My charges, however, were much higher. They threw in electric toothbrush, $50 prescription toothpaste, $50 Cancer screening, full periodontal cleaning & maintenance charges. Hundreds of dollars and full of unnecessary items. That was outside of what my insurance was covering. I told him what he was going to remove and his reply was that he was going to go get the hygienist to get "permission" to remove the items I was questioning. So, she comes back into the room to now tell me why they need to stay. I reminded her that I have a chemical sensitivity never mind that I'm not paying $50 for a small tube of toothpaste. She wanted to see the list of things that I could not come in contact with due to my chemical sensitivity because they needed to have that on file. As if this was a debate.
The guy wanted to write them all down. I told them they would be here a while & after I showed them the list, he said "no, I'm not writing all of that". They finally agreed to remove the items off of the "plan". The only appointments that they had were for August. I said to him, "there seemed to be a sense of urgency for me to have this treatment but yet we are scheduling this for August", and that just didn't make sense to me. They definitely did not like me questioning everything. I can absolutely see how someone who doesn't do that gets robbed. Mind you, I typically get a cleaning every year and I floss every day sometimes several times a day. I'm meticulous about my mouth cleaning. My other dentist never had any issues and at one visit did not understand why I come because my teeth are so clean.
So, for this dentist to tell me I need all of this deep cleaning and then follow up appointments every 3 months seems to be a radical difference than what others have told me. I called my insurance company to alert them of my experience because they were ultimately going to pay in some part of this inflated bill they were presenting me with. The only other place that would be in network was the same franchise type establishment. I have to call to cancel in the morning because I would much rather pay out of pocket and go see someone trustworthy at my expense than to see a facility like this. I've learned my lesson and next enrollment I will be upgrading my insurance plan.

Aspen Dental Springfield MO, Kansas PKWY location - Here’s the story... The other day the dentist told me I had gingivitis without even looking in my mouth and wanted to give me an $800 treatment. I said, "No. I just want a reg cleaning." Today the hygienist insisted I have gingivitis. I told her point blank that I don’t. She was rough with the floss like she was trying to make my gums bleed. When I complained about it hurting she said that was because my gums are tender. But my gums are fine. They scam people into expensive treatments. I looked up gingivitis and I have no symptoms. I’m nobody’s fool I will NEVER go back there.

I have a long time fear of the dentist. My husband had a bad experience with a different location. However the new Leesburg Florida location at 10430 US Hwy 441, is Great!!! From my first phone call to my visit today, I have been treated better than family. I went in with a broken tooth and 20 years of neglect. They were gentle and thorough making sure to answer all my question providing all info up front and given the option of what to proceed with. Yes it cost and yes they deserve it. I would tell the world about this wonderful location. Services provided 2 teeth surgeries, two bridges, 4 cavities, 1 root canal and crown. All completed within a week except for the final bridges you must heal for proper fit.

When I first went to Aspen I had a tooth that was bothering, the dentist said I needed a crown but no root canal. Okay sounded about right, then I was told I needed some type of deep cleaning that insurance didn't cover and that would have to be done before they would do my crown, so they asked for $969 before they would do anything. Then on the next visit they asked for $200 more, then today I go and they need $400+ more and I have had done is a deep clean, I haven't even been fitted or whatever for my crown or even gotten the temp. crown but they want $1600 before ummm I get my crown...
The lady kept saying 60% blah blah blah and she doesn't know why it hasn't been collected, blah, blah, blah... And they have already sent $1100 through my insurance. Yep so far I have paid $1100 and my insurance has paid $1100 and I have had my teeth cleaned... Never again. I told them where to go and I will be getting my crown at a dentist that is honest and not trying to be the "used car dealership" of dentist... And oh a $135 toothbrush... wtf. Do not go there.

I’m on my third week of not having my new dentures. I was told that they would be ready when I got my teeth pulled. When I got them I had the biggest buck teeth and they hurt so bad I could not put them in. I’ve already been charged for them. Got a bill for them and I don’t even have my teeth yet. I think you better fix it because I’m not paying the credit card payment that you set me up with until I have my dentures. I’m not paying for something I don’t have. Whoever made this set of dentures has no business making dentures. My teeth never looked like this. It’s hideous and embarrassing and downright ugly. About the most expensive set you have and this is what I ended up with.
So I’m going around with no teeth when I was promised them on the day I got my teeth pulled. I have spent a fortune on gas for unnecessary trips that I’ve had to make back out there which is a three hour round-trip. I believe I should be compensated for my gas and my time for making all the extra trips to Farmington from Cape Girardeau Missouri for their screwup. Why did you charge him to the card before I ever got them done. I don’t understand that. I was also put in April billing cycle when I didn’t even come there till the end of May. I’m one very very unhappy pissed off patient.
I’m going to my attorney and see what can be done about this. This is humiliating running around with no teeth. I can’t talk with these buck teeth and spit comes out my mouth when I do try to talk. They should’ve never happened. I should’ve got my dentures when I was told I would and I should’ve never been charge for them until after I had them. Something needs to be done. I want to be compensated for all my gas money and my dime for coming up there making unnecessary trips.

This business engages in bad faith business practices. They demanded payment for services that they did not disclose were being performed nor did they ever disclose the cost for the services until after they were performed. Very dishonest! My first phone call was to inquire about the cost of a cleaning prior to ever scheduling an appointment. Cost $$84. First visit I was told in advance the cleaning would be $84. At Checkout was charged $84. My 2nd cleaning I assumed would be the same as the first. No mention was made at check in nor at ANY time. Upon check-out a payment of $187 was demanded! I never agreed to these charges. Very dishonest. A company should not be allowed to trick consumers like this.

I had all my teeth pulled in Feb 17 and have constantly had trouble with them. They told me that I should not have them pulled, a money grab, that I should have them all repaired. This would have cost me over 20 grand. I went again today and was told I needed implants to hold my dentures, another money grab. Be careful using them. They always say it can be financed. Meanwhile I am gumming everything. To top it all off, they left a hole into my sinus open and a root left in my gum.

Got 3000 dollars upfront for services and a lot of hype and did not get near that. Was told cap was on special and when I confronted them with that they adjusted it but said they had to call the office first. I put the money up for a friend of mine to get this work done. Said they would whiten teeth, never happened. Put the crown in but was already partially done but was charged accordingly. Were supposed to fill in a front tooth that had been chipped for some time and also at the same time had a partial made that involved two teeth and it still does not fit right.
Was told to run under hot water, but have never seen the dentist since it was finished. Even for the initial placement. Was told they would whiten the teeth that were mine, that did not happen. Was put in by an aide and I was shoved out the door. Never feel they are trying after a couple of months to get me in for another 200.00 cleaning. Guess you know where they can stick that cleaning. Will be getting a lawyer today and see what can be done. Am finished with these fly by nighters. They are as bad as super cut haircuts. Get them in. Get them out and take the money and run. If you're in Bradenton I advise a private dentist group for your needs. Will not cost any more.

On my first visit, I found out that I would have to come back for the cleaning I thought I had signed up for. Based on the x-rays taken and a quick going over, the dentist told me I had three little cavities and the hygienist said I had pretty bad bone recession and might require a deep cleaning. (I think I might have been told this at some other point in my life). Then I had to sit down to discuss the charges/payment in another office which has never happened before at any dentist. Usually, a dentist would always bring in an estimate and discuss the procedures. When the estimate printout showed that they would charge the insurance company $228.00 per filling, something felt wrong. Especially as I "could finance". At that point I felt like I had been herded down an assembly line. Sitting down with four separate people took a long time out of my day!
I went to another well reviewed private dentist the next week. I'd have no insurance coverage and I'd have to pay out of pocket. He found I did not have any cavities, and he did not see any evidence of bone recession. The entire cleaning cost me $200.00 and was very professional. Before moving to Savannah, my dentist was rated as a top doctor in Portland, OR, and I saw him faithfully every six months. I left my private dentist feeling I had been played at Aspen Dental. If they had done any drilling, they would have done unnecessary damage to my teeth. A deep cleaning to prevent "further bone recession" would have been uncomfortable, invasive, and not needed. Aspen Dentistry did not come off as ethical. I'm glad I listened to my intuition, but others may not be so lucky.

This the worst place you can go to. They told me I need three filling and a crown. I had just left another dentist. I guess about 3 days ago and they told said I only need two filling so I went back for them to do my teeth and he drilled and drilled then he went to the other teeth that was just broke off in the past. I just had a feeling the teeth didn't hurt at all. That's why they only did the filling. I left out of there. My face was so numb up to my ear. They didn't give me no prescription or nothing for the pain until I called to cancel for the crown they wanted to put in my mouth.
It's been 3 weeks and my mouth still hurts. I can't chew a simple piece of gum without it. Feel like somebody stabbing me. Remember I went in there with no pain but let me tell you about the reception. I told her that the crown came off the same day. She said that's why they call it a temporary crown. I had call about my dental records. The man said I could come get a copy but when I get there she had gave me a paper copy. I went back to let her know I needed something better than that. She said that's all she can give me.
Am going back in the morning as soon as they open up and tell them somebody need to look at my mouth because I shouldn't wake up in pain or my mouth with bleeding, I'm going to ask for my records again. I am paying for them. What are y'all hiding and the reason why you don't want me to see my dental records. 6/5/18 I went back to tell them about my mouth. They wanted to do something I don't. I wasn't trying to hear anything. I just told them to pull it. I will never go back to them. Yes they just rip off. I thought they supposed to sew your gum up where they pull the teeth out. Well if they do they didn't she pull it and send me on out the door (SECOND OPINION BETTER YET JUST STAY AWAY FROM THEM).

Terrible service. Got some work done there a few months ago. They told me it was going to be x amount. Didn't have enough money to cover it so they offered a credit card. Took the card... Paid for the entire service. Then get a letter in the mail about some money I owe them. Call them. They said just to ignore it... I ignored it then I got another one. Called them, left a message, never got a callback. Called them again they said, "Oh yeah that was because the insurance didn't cover as much as we expected." Okay fine. Let me pay it with the credit card I was forced to get in order to get the service. "We can't take that over the phone. That has to be done in person." They're not open on the weekend. I work the same time they're open and my boyfriend and I share a car so by the time I got out he'd be using it so I couldn't get there for the one hour they're open for anyway. So I explained this dozens of times.
So get this. I go in and give them the credit card finally and they said it was too late for me to use the credit card because it has a sixty day period from when you got the service to pay up. Didn't know any of this. So the lady at the front desk said she'd charge me for another visit so that she could pay the bill with the Genesis credit and then null it on my insurance so I can still be seen in June. She said she'd call me back to let me know if it worked or if there were issues. Never did. I just get a collections notice in the mail for the very bill she said she'd take care of... I call them and all they said was, "I don't know why she said she'd do that." But just kept repeating Genesis has a sixty day period.
All of this would not have happened if they were upfront about the bill. They answered my calls when I called and called me with said issues... I mean ** I didn't even know my insurance didn't cover a fraction of it until months later then by the time I was alerted I had a couple weeks before Genesis' due date. Absolutely terrible service. They don't know how to communicate. They are not willing to work with you. Their billing department is ** trash. Do not go here!!! Save your money and go to an actual reputable place that actually cares about the customer and are willing to work with them. I will never recommend them. As a matter of fact I will always bring this story up to anyone thinking of going there!
P.S. While you're there the staff is super unprofessional talking to one another during time with patients and the dentist. Also They're not prepared during procedures. A couple times being there the people working in my mouth had to stop what they were doing to get something else making the time in the chair much longer than it had to be. Also I am not sure her name she's an Indian woman is cold and abrasive. When I asked her questions about the procedures and what some of the things she was saying meant she immediately got impatient with me acting as if I shouldn't even be asking. And she has this she's the doctor so just listen to her kind of attitude. Super condescending.
I can't even stress to you the billing departments **. Every other business you can pay your bills online or over the phone. Also they warn you a dozen times before something goes to collections. And are willing to work with you so that the bill gets paid. There was nothing being done. As a matter of fact it was because of poor communication and untrained ignorant employees that the bill went to collections to begin with.
I mean when I went to pay it face to face with the credit card the woman took down all my info because I was in a rush and had to go. Said she'd charge my card and if it didn't work she'd call me. Never got the call. Assumed it worked. If she had called me to tell me it didn't work like she was supposed to I would've paid with my debit card right then and there. I had the money which I told them I just wanted to use the credit card because that's what I got it for. For the dentist. Can't use it anywhere else. So instead of calling me to warn me so I can pay them they send it to collections.
Update. My bf pays the bills it submits twice... Fast forward a couple days. He asks them for a refund. The stupid receptionist refunded my Genesis credit card which can't be used anywhere else and that he can't even use. So they didn't even give my boyfriend back his money. As a matter of fact they gave it to someone else. I mean yes it was given to me and I can pay it back to him but it shouldn't have gotten put on my card. It should've been put on his. So he says, "Can you refund me." They said they couldn't because he submitted the payment on a secure site and don't have his card info. None of this even made sense. They said he'd have to call Genesis to get the money back...
I call Genesis. They said I would have to get the refund from Aspen Dental not them... Aspen Dental said to get the refund from Genesis. It's unbelievable. All of this could've been avoided if they told me the bill upfront and actually communicated with me and kept me in the loop. Nope. Left a review on Google and those sheisty ** managed to take it down. Not only that I can't see the review but none of my friends can. No one can find it. Which means they definitely pay someone to manipulate Google reviews. Sheisty business. I posted this complaint on Yelp and also on BBB and reached out to a representative there... Hopefully something can be done about my credit score but I am a little hopeless at this point. My credit score shouldn't even have been affected... Because of some dumb receptionists billing agents.

I have never in my life paid for services before they were done. But I agreed to go through their credit people and finance the work. Before the work was even started, the finance charges started. I was led to believe that claims were being filed with my dental insurance company and after several months of waiting, I called my insurance company. No claims had been filed. I want to warn everyone about Aspen Dental. Yesterday I visited my family dentist. I had X-rays and a cleaning. Found a few minor issues and scheduled to get them fixed. Come to find out our new dental insurance isn't accepted there. Bummer. So, I get an appointment for Aspen Dental. Tell them I just (less than 24 hours ago) had a cleaning and x-rays. I just need them to fix what my dentist had found. So, they make me redo xrays-- annoyed but went along. They then make me do this crazy exam where they tell me I have periodontal disease. Next, they tell me they found 9 cavities! Next they tell me I need an antibiotic rinse. Then they proceed to tell me I need a special deep cleaning, because my teeth are dirty. Even though I literally just had them cleaned.
I had a weird feeling so I asked for all their findings to be printed out so I could bring them to my regular, family dentist. After all this, an 'office manager', a lady who is NOT a dentist, proceeds to tell me about my treatment plan that will take months and multiple appointments and products. Are you kidding me!? They talk about loans I can take out and this and that. Ridiculous. I seriously was just at the dentist yesterday, who I see regularly, and he told me all is well. How can I go from a healthy mouth with a few minor issues to periodontal disease and months of treatment needed- oh, and 9 cavities! Aspen Dental is a scam.
After literally spending hours reading reviews tonight and annoying my husband by making him read them, I found EVERY person being told they had some sort of gum disease and needed a special cleaning. And, I searched local informed sites and people were told by Aspen that they had cavities and after a second opinion with their family dentist, they did not! Don't waste your time and money at Aspen. Unfortunately, Aspen is the only place within an hour drive that takes our insurance. But, for our peace of mind, we'll be paying out of pocket to our family dentist who we trust.

I was assaulted in Ohio, a year ago and my teeth were knocked out. I went to Aspen (3/2/18) to get a top denture, and a partial (still have not received them) my denture was placed in my mouth the same day my teeth were removed. Went back to them two weeks later, and they gave me a soft refill which at that point I was not able to wear the denture at all. It was about an inch thick in my mouth so it made me gag 24/7. I complained to them and was told that they could only file it down a little at a time. This went on for 13 days, finally went in 5/23/18 and dentist said they would remove soft fill. When they did that the denture would not fit back into my mouth, so then the dentist started filling the denture down.
When she got finished the denture still did not fit properly, it was crooked in my mouth where she filed it down too much, so I told her that I could not wear it and she said that I would have to get use to them and eventually they would fit and straighten out. I told her that I was unsatisfied and that she needed to either give me back my money ($2,967) or redo my teeth. I called Dental First (credit) and explained the situation to them, so I would not be charged any kind of fees for not paying my bill each month and Dental First was very understanding and sent my dispute to the right individual so I will not have to pay until my dispute is settled.
I am getting in contact with Better Business, along with the American Dental Association and I will also be filing in civil court to sue them for the money my insurance company paid them ($1500) and the money I have paid already out of pocket ($260). Which by the way they told me my insurance company only paid them $1001, and instead of them crediting my account for that amount, they only credited my account $900.

I have been going to Aspen Dental for about 8 years, up in PA. I have invested a lot of money for my teeth. I recently to Fl. and starting going to Aspen Dental in West Palm Beach, Fl. When I first starting going there it wasn't too bad. I had much more work done and everything was fine, or so I thought. I went back for another procedure and at that point I had no payments due, except for what I paid at that time. The next thing I see is a new staff member in the front. Which is great, or so I thought. Insurance had changed and all of a sudden I owe a bunch of money that I was told was paid and they can't see me until it is paid. Well first of all it was a little over $400 and I have paid thousand over the years, so they basically turned me away.
I asked if it was turned into my insurance and they said yes it was denied, but they failed to say was they turned it into the wrong insurance co. so obviously it was denied. Several times I called and tried to straighten it out and the young man in the front just didn't get it. So one last time I asked him to please submit my claim. And again he never did, I called my Insurance Co. is how I know. Not only that I asked for someone to please call me back and let me know because I really need to get this finished because at this point I was tired of pain and discomfort. No one called me, instead they turned it into collections, for no payment of the $400 and some dollars, and they refused to see me until it was paid in full. Is all I was asking them is to turn the claim into the right insurance co, to see if it was covered before I paid out of pocket and call me back, AND NO ONE EVER DID.
A month later is when I called and he tells me it was turned into collections for no payment. There were no apologies or reasons why no one contacted me. There was though, "We cant see you until you pay that amount." Again turned me away, and the work they began is still not completed, and I am having discomfort all the time. I was very upset so I then called Aspen Dental Headquarters in Syracuse, NY. The person I spoke briefly to, JOSH, has yet to return a call, and I have called at least 10 times but probably 15, and absolutely not one word from one single person, and he, JOSH, is suppose to be the district manager. I did call another Aspen Dental in another area to transfer my records and finish the work, but to be honest it is only because I have to.
There was work that needed done before this and it wasn't. Now in order to see the other office it's a little closer to $500. Money is always a issue for anyone if they don't think they owe it or if insurance will pick it up, but the thing of it is it could have been done two months ago and without turning it into collections, it isn't like I just went in for a cavity, I had thousand of work done through Aspen Dental in the last eight years, so I wanted to have someone communicate with me. Again no one did and the work is still not done. I use to recommend Aspen Dental, and I just will not any longer and when I finally get this straightened out, I will never go back.
I am very upset that they turned me away, twice and they were the reason it hadn't been paid yet, and it very well could have been. Now the work is half done and will not be completed until I get this worked out. The thing of it is that I am now looking at things and I am not so sure I ever owed that $400 when just a month before I was paid up, or so they said. To be honest I wasn't disputing whether it was owed or not, it was the Insurance and the way I was treated and turned away, with a job half done. Now I am looking over things from the work they did do and what was and was not paid. I will never go back when this is said and done, and I am very upset.

This has been the worst experience of my entire life!!! I have never felt so ill towards another company of any kind as I do with Aspen Dental. I had an old filling fall out in between 2 teeth. This being my only pain or issue I had, I made an appointment with the closest center to me, a 45 min drive. Everyone seemed polite, took my x-rays and sat me in a room to look at a bill for $12,000 for a ton of work, cleanings etc. Well that wasn't happening so I opted for $5509 worth of work to fix the original issue (which ended up costing me 2 root canals for the 2 teeth) and 1 replacement filling for a tooth I've never had an issue with and some routine cleanings. So I took the fast Genesis credit and charged it. Fine! They immediately fixed my old filling, which was done by a new girl and done incorrectly so it caused me more damage to the molar below it which I now have to have fixed elsewhere since I'll never go back to AD.
I left and had to come back 2 hrs later for the "real dentist" to fix my problem 2 teeth. She was great, even though I was not told what was going to take place for a root canal, guess that's my job to research before I get work done. Fine! Anyways, my 1st step was done. I went home pain free thinking things were wonderful. Then I get a call that the lady doing my cleaning had school so she couldn't see me. Fine, I rescheduled. When I went for my next appointment they said they had tried to reach me saying they had to reschedule again since she wasn't available. Now after 45 mins driving 1 way I was irritated but luckily my crowns came in so they could do those. Great! Those were put in and to this day I have issues with them. My 1 crown is crooked and I have a big black line across my tooth very visible as I smile or talk. Not Good! So I'm irritated by this point.
The dentist was great, no pain from that but the teeth cause me pain and my filling has ruined other teeth. I finally get a chance to get my cleaning done and was told, that a $135 toothbrush plus mouthwash etc has already been charged to me. I'm a little more irritated now. I then get a call saying they need to reschedule my 2nd cleaning due to the woman not being there. If it wasn't bad enough that she asked me to give her a Google review, this was now the 3rd cancellation. Pissed now! I said I wasn't rescheduling again and credit my account. Well I get all my bills together from my insurance and decide to make sure I'm credited the proper amounts. Nope I wasn't. Surprised... No! I have now been battling with Olean, NY Aspen Dental for 6 months trying to get a $135 credit. I have provided all the necessary paperwork multiple times to the AD office and contacted my insurance company.
The Olean office case manager MiKaelya, or however you spell it, refuses to speak with me. The other office personnel can't or won't help and I have been treated horrible and ignored many times. I paid $5509 in a flash but getting a credit has been agonizing. Seriously crediting me $135 for you overcharging me and then treated like a pos is not ok in any way. My other family members have opted not to ever go to Aspen Dental.

My long time dentist was no longer covered by our dental insurance as of Jan. 1, 2018. I had a cleaning and check up scheduled with them in January and in Dec. they called me and told me about the insurance situation. While trying to find a dentist in the area that was covered under our very limited insurance I started to have pain under a cap that had been placed over a year earlier. I had had a root canal and the cap placed shortly after and no problems until April of this year. Within 2 weeks the tooth area was throbbing and I had to do something. The reviews for the Aspen Dental in Waukesha were not good and even the BBB rated them a "C" something that is very hard to do with the BBB. I was getting frantic so I made an appointment because I could get in quickly. I was seen by the dentist after a unusually large amount of x-rays (this is one of the complaints).
She said my root canal was failing and I would need to see an endodontist. I knew the tooth or what was left of it was infected - I know that pain well and asked several times for antibiotics. ** was called in. I had not had a chance to fill out all the forms before I left the Aspen office that day (and no one seemed to think that was important) but I had gotten as far as putting down that I was allergic to **. I immediately Called Aspen and said I was allergic to ** and was sure I had put that down on the forms. ** was then called in- 150 mg. 1- 3x per day. I had an appointment with the endodontist the next Monday so I thought I'd be fine. It took about 4 days for the antibiotics to begin to work and then by Friday the pain was as bad as it had been before. I called the Aspen office and was told to call my regular Dr.
This seemed very odd to me and I said the dentist had just seen me Monday, was familiar with the issue and I felt she should be handling this. I was told again to call my regular Dr. I did that and was told first of all that my dentist should be handling this, they were not a dental office and that my regular Dr. would not recommend anything else without seeing me and she was booked for the day. I called Aspen back and relayed that info to them- they were shocked that my regular Dr. wouldn't help. It is, by the way, common practice for any Dr. to refuse to prescribe anything without first seeing the patient and I was sure Aspen knew this. I was promised a call back by 1:00p.m. when the office closed. Aspen did use the word "promise". I said if I had to go to urgent care over this I would send Aspen the bill. No call came before 1:00p.m.
I ended up at urgent care and it took a medical facility an hour of calling to get the emergency dentist to call back. The emergency dentist said I was given half the normal dose of ** used for my problem. The urgent care Dr. agreed and so the urgent care Dr. prescribed the proper dose and within a day and a half I felt much better. By now I had decided to find another dental office. I had originally been given a date to clean my teeth 6 months down the line and they automatically added on a "fluoride varnish", not covered by insurance, that I had not agreed too. I look carefully at all aftercare paperwork and when I saw the varnish had been added I called the office and asked that it be taken off. I also asked for an earlier cleaning appointment since it was over a year since my teeth had been cleaned.
I hadn't even been asked if I wanted to be put on a cancelation list. When I asked why it took so long to get a cleaning appointment I was told they only had 1 hygienist. I was shocked. Every office I have been in in the last 20 years has been crawling with hygienists so either this Aspen office didn't want more than 1 hygienist, didn't pay well enough for anyone to want to work there or had a very high turn over rate. The reviews stated that the turn over in that office was huge so I would assume that's the reason but people usually keep leaving because the work or pay is not good. I was offered a cancellation the next Wed. at 10:15 a.m. I took the appointment even though it meant I had to miss a rehearsal that was very important to me (I am a musician). I showed up on time that day, was told I was all checked in and then I sat for 25 min.
At one point the receptionist came over and asked if my first name was Eileen. She claimed there were 3 Eileen's there that day. I found that hard to believe as the waiting room was not very full and most of the patients were elderly. I have an unusual first name and never once in my 60 years have there been 3 Eileen's in the same place. I knew something was up. Five minutes later I was ushered into a room by a young man with a suit and tie who said the owner of that Aspen office would no longer accept me as a patient because I had threatened to sue them! I had done no such thing. I have been involved in suing someone once in my life, it was in regards to my daughter, was very expensive, time consuming and stressful even though we won. I would never threaten something I was unwilling to do and I certainly was not going to try and sue an office that I knew had a bad reputation in the first place and I still had chosen to go there.
I asked who had accused me of that - no answer. I asked in what context I supposedly said that - he didn't know. I asked why in the world I got a text that morning reminding me of my cleaning appointment when it was already decided I would not be seen - he didn't know. I also received a text the next day saying I had missed my cleaning appointment. One hand does not know what the other is doing there. For anyone who lives in the Waukesha, Wi. area and is thinking of going to the Aspen Dental in Waukesha - read the reviews about that office and believe them. I would say they are all true and then some. Don't go there - they do try and sell you things you don't want and are not covered by insurance, they are understaffed. The dentist there is unaware of the usual dose of antibiotics given for a fairly common issue and does not read the list of patient allergies before calling in a prescription.
To be fair - if Walgreens had been doing their job I never would have known the dentist made that mistake because they filled the prescription even though they knew I was allergic to **. After 16 years of using that pharmacy the majority of the time, they were well aware of my allergies. I was promised a call by the office manager twice before I was told I would no longer be seen and neither call ever came. No one would tell me the name of the office manager. Why in the world would anyone let someone come in for a scheduled appointment, make them wait for 25 minutes and then tell them they would no longer be seen? What is the point of that? I could have gone to my rehearsal if someone had called the day before and told me the appointment was cancelled. It took me 2 days to find out the position of the young man who told me I supposedly threatened to sue them was manager in training.
He didn't even have a business card. He did give me a general Aspen appointment card with his name on it and said to call if I had any questions and I do have questions. He will not return the call. I have been told he doesn't work there, he is in a meeting, there is no one by that name there etc... This is not an honestly run business. To top it off they told me they were referring me to an endodontist that was covered by the insurance - they are not so I was stuck with a 450.00 bill for more x-rays and cannot go back for further treatment of the failing root canal because it would cost thousands of dollars out of pocket. Read and believe - stay away!

Bait and switch. Incredibly high prices and asking for more for basic services. Would not recommend. Lots of pressure to buy more high priced services and schedule into the future. Have received countless solicitations even after I declined additional services - again, nothing was wrong with my teeth. Basic cleaning, $1400 beyond insurance coverage. Went to another DDS 6 months later, and he laughed at the "services offered."

To make this a completely honest review I have to say the dentist was awesome and removed the teeth quickly. Now for the fun part. I'm very prone to infection. They did not give me antibiotics. They did prescribe an antibiotic rinse along with a paper stating not to rinse my mouth for 24 hours - go figure. Also told me to take ** for pain - would not give me one days worth of painkillers. Fair enough I guess - Except that less than 24 hours later my mouth is pretty obviously infected again. Yay and I'm in so much pain despite taking 24 ** and 8 ** - that a few hours ago I seriously considered blowing my own head off.
So great dentist, but if you don't like being in pain, or are prone to infection avoid it like the plague. Me? I'm trying to wait until Monday so I don't have to hit the ER. In the end, the price would have been great if it wasn't for the added expense of the next doctor's bill - minimum of $100 just to get the antibiotics I need. Hopefully by then won't need the pain meds, we'll see how bad the infection is Monday.

When I first went in I signed a paper that had been prepared for me for a little over $2 thousand dollars which $983.00 was put on a bill that I pay so much a month for 1 year. When I went to get my teeth cleaned they wanted $121.00. I was so upset I did not pay it as I am on SS and don't have that much to play around with.

I went to Aspen Dental back in 2008, I needed to get full dentures, and had no dental insurance so my fiance decided he would finance them for me so we can get them done. We sat with them in the Scranton, PA location for over an hour going over different options. I was young, only 34 years old, and the woman we met with was so comforting, and understanding. She went over the different warranties offered, the warranty on the dentures and optional warranties as well. She stated with how young I was, it would be beneficial to purchase a lifetime warranty on my dentures since the longest warranty offered with any of the products was 7 years. We agreed, and in total our balance was over $5000. Here I am, 10 years later, with all my original paperwork being denied the work that needs to be done. The dentures no longer fit properly, they need to either be adjusted or redone, I have major issues with my jaw due to the bite not being level.
According to every person I speak with now at Aspen, they do not now nor have they ever offered lifetime warranties to be purchased, and the longest warranty they have is 7 years. I was straight out told they have all my records, but no record at all of an extended warranty being purchased, and since they do not have it in their records, my documents are invalid because I could have altered them to fit my needs. Then they had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to schedule an appointment to come in and have them make me new ones, and go figure, they can have them financed for us again.

My experience with Aspen was incredibly eye opening as to how quickly people can change on you once they receive what they want. I haven't been to a dentist for a LONG time, and I needed to be seen for a chipped tooth, (which incidentally is STILL not fixed). Aspen made me feel very comfortable, and sucked me into the tune of 6200.00 to get my teeth fixed and back on track. I was VERY excited about this. I felt like I was back on track again to oral health. Well, everything went fine until I needed my bottom partials adjusted... Then hell's gate opened up. I have NEVER dealt with more rude and obnoxious people in all my life!! They have made me so upset, that my husband took over talking with them and trying to resolve things, and in his 25 plus years of dealing with the public in car sales even HE threw in the towel with them.
There is NO reasoning or dealing with these people, ABSOLUTELY NONE!! The ONLY decent people in the Owatonna office were KT, Nikki and Brittany. The rest of them were a joke and an embarrassment to the dental profession, and to customer service. I'm still trying to find a dentist to fill my tooth, and I would NEVER recommend Aspen to ANYONE... Not even my WORST enemy!!

I went to Aspen Dental to have one tooth removed, it turned out they manipulated me through my vulnerability to get all remain 16 teeth out. They promised me a low payment of $128.00 18 month no interest, they lied and I got a minimum of $171.00 and a 14.99 APR for a 48 month loan!!! I was not told it was a 48 month loan. All the papers were filled out by a office manager of Aspen Dental. I asked many time you sure my payment will be $128.00 because I am on disability and can't pay more and He reassured me.
Well now after many months and much more clarity, how could Aspen Dental fill out application for a credit card when they're the ones financially benefiting (conflict of interest). So I find an article on CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) website, that says titled "Consumer bureau hits medical financing company CareCredit with $34.1 million Action" Dated Dec. 10, 2013. In the article it clearly says "CareCredit must create new disclosures with detailed description of deferred-interest product and give consumers advance notice of expiration of the promotion period. Patients must also be enrolled directly through A CareCredit representative, not through the office staff of a doctor or dentist, for transactions over $1,000." My debt was over $6,000.
As I see it they broke that agreement. So I had to return my temp. teeth and cancel my permanent teeth to bring down my amount to under $3,000 assuming that my minimum payment would be more affordable, NOPE they said my contract with them is minimum payment $171.00 and if I want promotional to change that only Aspen Dental can do that, only the dentist office can change my credit card payment!!!! How fraudulent is that!!!! So now I have NO teeth and am quickly going into massive debt because two companies are working together to defraud people who are vulnerable! I disputed by Aspen Dental lied that I agreed to a resolution. So what now?

I unfortunately went to Aspen Dental for my dentures in August of 2016. I was told my balance after insurance would be $3484.00, and got a loan for that amount. In July 2017, after having nothing but problems with my ill fitting dentures, I was told that mini implants (surgically implants posts) were the only way to stabilize my lower plate. I met with Amber about the cost, telling her I most likely cannot have this done because it would be too expensive and she said 'good news! Your insurance started over in January and they will pay $2400.00! Give me a hug, I'm sooo happy for you!' She went on and on about how her mom got these mini implants and what a difference they had made blah blah blah. I called my Credit Union and since I had paid quite a bit of my original amount already they agreed to lend me the $1346.00 I needed for the procedure.
I had it done and in December. I started getting past due bills for the $2300.00!!! I called and talked with Amber and told her I would have NEVER had this done if I thought for a second that insurance wouldn't pay! She said she'd make some calls and get back to me. Never happened! Then the bs began! I kept getting invoices and phone calls saying I still owed $2400! I finally went to the Aspen office and talked with Val and she called MetLife AND Aspen headquarters. MetLife said they refused it because of 'frequency'... She tried over and over to explain that I had never had this done previously. Aspen Dental headquarters said 'they were handling it', that they were already aware of this and they were litigating with MetLife. She told me not to worry about this and she would call and have them to stop sending invoices and that she would get back to me. NEVER HAPPENED!
When I got back from visiting my daughter in April, I had a letter from a collection agency!!! Now this pitiful company has ruined my credit!!! I now have to talk to a lawyer to see if I there is any legal action against them. I decided to use Google to see if there were any other unhappy customers and discovered there were indeed! Hundreds in fact! I just can't pay them any more than I'm already paying on my loan and I feel this is their fault not mine!!!

She got a loan, paid them the extra $1000 and then they said they needed her to buy them a $700 tool so they could finish the dentures. They have a money back guarantee so she asked for her money back, they refused. She sent certified letters to their corporate office but they never responded. She's been without any teeth on the bottom of her mouth and has been completely unable to chew for two years now. I told them I'd rather have my cavities fixed, but they kept refusing because it would "pop the fillings out". I decided I wanted a second opinion, went to a new place and they told me it was a bunch of bull that the fillings would not fall out. They also offer the same cleaning Aspen wanted me to do for $160, they also said I do have some build up but that I do not need a special cleaning, a normal one would do. They were super pushy (not all of them, some of them were nice), and I regret going to them. However, they do have skilled dentists there. I went to Aspen (Selinsgrove PA) as a new patient for a routine check-up. Although Aspen said online they accept my insurance, once I got there they informed me nothing would be covered but encouraged me to stay for the free exam and x-rays. After having panoramic x-rays taken, which lasted a long uncomfortable 20 mins, I was sent into an exam room where 4 different people had their hands in my mouth. I'm used to the hygienist and dentist poking around so to have several people looking but not explaining why, started the anxiety. It was very impersonal. After being there over an hour and a half, I was sent to a desk and given a quote by yet another stranger. Over $1500 for 5 fillings and a cleaning. They told me I had periodontal disease that was so severe, I needed to schedule the appointment right away. Made me feel stressed at my 'lack of oral hygiene.'
Thank God I got a second opinion. Turns out, I DO NOT have ANY cavities, my gum line is in normal limits, no periodontal disease. I will never be returning to Aspen. They remind me of a shady garage that tells you your car needs a lot of expensive work when in reality, simple maintenance is all that is truly needed. My clean teeth and full wallet are going to a reliable, trustworthy dentist from now on.

A few months ago I went to Aspen Dental (Glens Falls NY) to have a broken tooth and cavity looked at... Upon my first visit I was told I had to have extensive work done and I may have periodontal disease. I did not have insurance so I had to apply for a loan to get the work they said I needed done. My second visit was for a deep cleaning which took about 15 minutes on one half my mouth then they rescheduled for the other half. I had an appointment for a certain time and Aspen Dental tried to reschedule me to come in earlier. I couldn't come in earlier I told them. So on the day of my 2nd Visit I arrived and was immediately take to the room and placed in the chair.
When the person responsible for the deep cleaning came in she was very upset that I couldn't come in earlier and proceed to rip my mouth apart... It was the most painful experience I've ever had. She flew through the procedure and rushed me out the door... When I got to my car I looked in the mirror and could not believe the blood running down my neck and the next 3 days were very painful. I had another appointment to have 4 extractions done they said I needed. I told them I only wanted the 3 teeth that were loose extracted and the other I wanted to keep. I went in and they pulled the tooth I told them not to pull and the other 3. They said it was in bad shape and it needed to go. That tooth had NO issue, no cavities and was not loose at all. So I assumed they were looking out for my dental health. That visit was around 15 minutes!
The last visit they were going to fix my broken tooth and fill my cavity that I originally came in for. This visit was the worst out of all my visits. I went into the office and was rushed to the chair. My appointment was at 4:30 and they closed at 5. Then they proceeded to get me ready for the work. I was tilted upside down which I thought was strange, then the dentist came in and he spoke VERY broken English. He began to drill in my mouth while upside down and the water was choking me and making me gag many times. The dentist go very upset and started yelling at me and I couldn't understand what he was saying so the dentist assistant had to tell me what he was saying.
After springing up out of the chair a few time to keep from drowning he finished filling and the assistant had the curing light in my mouth and moving the chair to the upright position the machine beeped and they said I was done and shoved me out of the chair. I then received a $1300 dollar bill for the first work I had done and an additional $859 for my last visit. The 1309 that was put on the loan I got. When I reviewed the statement I was charged for work that wasn't done and overcharged for everything. A total time of all work done was no more than 1 hour in the chair. Be warned... This is the biggest rip off out there. I will never go back and still have many problems and pain from the work that they did.

My private dentist of 20 years recently retired, so I decided to give Aspen a shot as a new dentist. Everything with my teeth is current, last checkup/cleaning/x-rays 4 months ago. In that time, not last then 5 patients came in with major complaints and left. After THEM being an hour and a half late (no apologies), I was taken for x-rays performed by some amateur hour kid. Never had pain getting x-rays before.
Escorted to another room, waited 40 more minutes for the hygienist who spent maybe 2 minutes on me. Another 30 minutes finally the dentist who spent maybe 1 minute. Keep in mind my teeth are perfectly fine, I just need a new dentist. Was brought to be billed out and get this - they say I need over 10 thousand dollars of work! A bunch of caps, crowns, extractions, a $450 cleaning, and this is OUT OF POCKET, after insurance! After LAUGHING in the receptionists face, I walked out. I went into Aspen Dental Saratoga Springs, NY with hopes of finally getting my teeth fix. I put them off for so many years. I was ready for a change. When I first walked in they were very nice but that seems to be a show. I went in for a full top denture and partials on bottom. Before the second visit I was being called every day to verify the appointment. Also daily emails saying I had to verify my appointment. Also daily text with the same thing. I had to verify the appointment... After 2 weeks I was already done with these people. When does harassment come into play? I told them twice," I work at night and they did not need to phone myself daily. I need to sleep. Second visit was just painful. I had 11 teeth extracted took 3 and half hours. Mind you the dentist thru this time left the room four times to see other people. Also he had not put enough numbing shots when he started. So the first tooth he tried for sent me thru the roof in pain.
He goes on to tell me it’s pressure not pain. I am fully covered in tattoos and done some other things to know the difference between pain and pressure I told him. After the teeth extraction he gave myself my fill indenture... They were hitting my bottom fangs and it was hurting and not feeling right. There was also points jabbing into the roof of my mouth they need to take care of. Dentist told me, "I will fix them next time.” I told them that was crap and they did not fit right, but again no fix. The third visit went horrible. I was told I had to pay 523 for the cleaning that had to be done. I have 5 teeth left and I did not feel 523 dollars was right and first of all they still need to fix the dentures they just put in. After arguing with them I paid everything in full and then they took myself back (I already spent 1250 before the 523 up to this point and not happy) to the chair. This lady helped me with my dentures which was calming, but then was told to wait.
A hour and a half I sat in the chair waiting. Finally I get up and start walking around the office looking to see what’s going on. There was only one dentist there working on someone else. Mind you I’m just freely walking around the dentist office. Finally a lady asked what I was doing. I told her I’m looking for my 2 o'clock dentist. The lady informed myself that I would have another hour to wait till she’s done (it was 330). Did they seem to miss the times after calling me daily, or the daily emails or the text I received from them. That my appointment was at 2. I should not have to pay so much so a dentist can be late. Where else other than health care. Do you make an appointment and they are always late. Not by 5 or 10 mins but hours. I would get charged if I was late. And late in hours... So after all this, I just walked out. I call another Aspen Dental and ask to change dentist because of the trouble I’m having.
The other Aspen Dental goes on to tell me that they would not cover any work that was done in another Aspen dental??? HUH??? I asked, “Are you joking me...” I told her I was paid (1750) in full and having all these troubles and I can’t find a better dentist in your company. She said, “Nope. It’s our policy not to cover other dentist work even if they are a Aspen Dental company...” THAT SHOULD SEND A RED FLAG UP. I did not know this or I would of never step foot in the place. I had also asked for a full payment history for my own records. They told me I was not able to receive any of my records of payments because it’s not their policy to release the dental records or payments... MAN DID I SCREW UP choosing this place.

I am very frustrated and irritated by our first, last and only visit with Aspen Dental. To start, I lost my job and my dental insurance expires on March 31. I called 2 weeks ago and scheduled cleanings for my husband and me. I specifically told Alan, the call center representative, I was scheduling cleanings. I have scheduled my appointment on 3/22 which was rescheduled due to staffing issues within Aspen’s office; however, my husband went to his appointment on the day he was scheduled. We had printed and completed our paperwork and had it completed when we went into the office; however, he arrived 15 minutes early. He waited for 45 minutes before he was called back. Once the x-rays and exam was done, he inquired about his cleaning but he was informed that he was only scheduled for x-rays and an exam. They were, though, able to get his cleaning done.
Secondly, I went for my appointment yesterday. Once again, I had printed and completed my paperwork and had sent it in with my husband when he went into the office the week before; however, I arrived 15 minutes early. I waited for 45 minutes before he was called back. Once the x-rays and exam was done, I inquired about my cleaning but was informed that he was only scheduled for x-rays and an exam. I informed them that I had scheduled a cleaning. The Dr. then told me that he was now off but the scheduler would be in to schedule my cleaning and a filling. I was instantly annoyed. I have never had to return to a dental office for separate x-rays and exam then days later returning for a cleaning. This is not acceptable.
How could this appointment been made better? When I schedule a cleaning, schedule me for a cleaning. Now, my dental insurance will expire before I can get my cleaning and filling done all because Aspen Dental wants to be able to bill TWO office visits rather than do it all in one visit. If the call center is going to schedule exams only then you must schedule a separate cleaning, they need to disclose that. Respect my time. My husband and I wasted 1.5 hours in your waiting room. This is intolerable. We feel completely disrespected. Schedule x-rays, exam and cleanings in one visit. I have to drive 30 minutes each way so if I have to come for 2 visits for what should be completed in one visit, that is 2 hours of wasted drive time, then multiply that by 2 (since my husband and I have to come separately) that is 4 hours of wasted time.
Additionally, I am unable to drive so to waste my driver’s time is insulting to them as well. Call center, really? I should be able speaking to a representative in the brick and mortar office. I should have known better than going with a corporate business. There is an overwhelming sense of business only and I fell like just another payment opportunity. Neither my husband nor I have any intention of returning to Aspen Dental. For start to finish, this entire charade has been offensive.

Dr. ** pulled my teeth and I did not even feel anything. Went back to get my dentures adjusted. Cassie took care of them. Dr. ** and Nicole helped. They were all friendly and good at their jobs. This place is really great at their jobs. It was a good experience.

We had a appointment for 8:45. The staff was rude. We got x-rays done after waiting forever. After the x-rays the lady told us to follow her to the room only to find out another dentist assistance done sat someone down in our chair. We had to go back out in the waiting room. Very rude staff. I even told them on the phone before we had our appointment we had a small child getting off the bus from school at 11 so we got early appointments to get back to Union SC. We came back with no work done. Only x-rays. So pathetic when we was there first but the one lady took someone back who had just walked in the door and pushed us to the side!!

Aspen Dental of Aiken, SC - The most pathetic office, services and customer is beyond the pits!!! I've tried to get my dentures that my insurance covers 100%. For over 6 weeks now they cannot seem to get it right in their system or call me back. They continually put me on hold for 30 minutes or more. They never call me back. They never resolve anything and they absolutely are the pits and rude as they can be in the office! They tried to charge me all kinds of prices for things that are covered 100% on my insurance. They talk to my insurance company about a half a dozen times and evidently can't get it straight in their system because they're idiots!!! Totally do NOT recommend this company at all!!!

In the Spring of 2016 I went to Aspen Dental in Wellington/Royal Palm, FL. I told them I was on Social Security Disability with a limited income but had money from my settlement to get much needed dental work. I told the dentist I wanted 2 crowns on my 2 top front teeth and my cavities taken care of. She INSISTED on putting 5 new crowns on my front teeth. First she drilled my natural teeth down to tiny, tiny stubs and put temporary crowns on. Every one of them fell off within a day or 2. When she put the permanent crowns on they didn't fit so she filed down my bottom teeth for a "better fit".
I then moved to PA and within a few months one of the front crowns fell off. Now less than 2 years later all 5 of the crowns cracked and pieces fell off inside exposing my natural teeth and causing severe pain. My bottom teeth that were filed are turning dark. I have been calling for the last 20 days pleading for help. I have been totally IGNORED! No one returns my calls and my emails go without reply. I spent a huge part of my SSD settlement on this dental work which they gladly took. Now I can't even get someone to call me back. What can I do? Does anyone have any help they can provide?

Prices are high and then you schedule your appointment and one day before a very rude lady call you to change everything and tell you, you have to drive 1 hour to a different office because the specialist can't go to your office. Then I schedule my next appointment in a different office because they didn't have the equipment in my closest office, drove 45 minutes and had to wait for an hour before someone had the courtesy of telling me they didn't have my records. Long story short a very unpleasant experience.
