I asked my son to get his teeth cleaned before school begins. We are from California. He was given an estimate of $80 something for a cleaning. He went and had a bunch of x-rays. They wanted to charge $30 for a cancer screening. What a joke. Then a small cavity filling and sealant. Then some kind of gum grafting. They wanted over $1,800. I recognized the scam, small fee for exam then upsell. I told him to pay his $30 and get out quick. I will fly him home to California and see our local dentist. My son is 21 and not experienced with scammers. Luckily he called me and we avoided this one.

When calling Aspen Dental Center, new patients are directed to a call center for scheduling; however, you are not told that you are talking to a call center. I asked several questions about my needs and how the dental center might accommodate them. I was promised that I could have work done the same day. I was promised a 20% discount if I did not use my insurance. I was promised that they were less expensive than my regular dentist. Their website also shows lower prices for the work I needed.

I get to the appointment, talk with the receptionist, and find out that none of the promises made to me were true. In fact, this dental center is far more expensive than was originally promised and far more expensive than my regular dentist. Moreover the call center only scheduled me for an exam and not for enough time to get the first stage of my work done, as was promised. I was also informed that they do not offer a discount for not using insurance. Furthermore, I found out that the call center receives a kickback for getting patients in to the office.

To make matters worse, my daughter had to call off work that day because I couldn't watch her children in order to go to the appointment. This is adding insult to injury. It was a costly day for my daughter, and I had no choice but to leave the dental office. Something must be done about these shady, unethical practices. After arrive home from the appointment, I looked into this dental company further and found out that there is a class action lawsuit against them. Don't waste your time going to Aspen Dental.

I scheduled an appt for 1pm 7/30. Filled out forms and said reason for appt, tooth pain. I sat in my car (due to covid) until 1:30. Checked in and had x-rays, sat in chair until 2:45, then was given an estimate for dentures and was told that they did not have time to pull tooth that is killing me. I asked if the tooth is accessed and was told they did not know. Needless to say, I'm finding another dentist.

Aspen Dental is awful to deal with. I had an emergency appointment and when I got there due to COVID I had to wait in the car until I would be called in, okay that was not an issue...but sitting in the car for 45 minutes was an issue and I had to call twice and was finally asked to come into the building and was seen by the dentist, I has an x-Ray which did show a cavity between two teeth that was causing the pain. The dentist said she can take care of that and sent me to the front desk, found out I could not be helped for two weeks! What kind of emergency visit is that?! So, I was just suppose to be in pain for 2 weeks. I declined and a few days later went elsewhere and had the cavity filled right away, the pain was from a cavity right at the nerve. But Aspen was quick to send me a bill and for what? They did nothing!

My husband and I have talked to so many different employees, office manager, billing manager and a few others. After the runaround the billing manager agreed to have me pay 1/2 of the bill and she would take care of the rest. That amount was agreed upon and was paid that same day, manager was suppose to go into my account to remove the remaining balance and show a $0 balance on my account. As of this writing that has not happened, I am so frustrated with Aspen. I would never go back there or advise anyone to go there. It is all about the money, not patient care it seems.

I am very disappointed in this Aspen Dental “West Bend” location. I am experiencing a failed denture repair with them. It lasted one day... I do not recommend them. The denture lab is lacking in skill and talent and should stop charging for repairs. All they do is say the repair will not last and charge you $170.00 for a simple “Acrylic Resin Glue Job” with a polish and a fast turnaround. They should not tell me different. I have proof. Granted, my repair was complicated with implants. I was desperate and paid the price... The lab tech should have seen the weakness in the repair and should not have done it. It was only a couple steps above “Super Glue”. Of course, that kind of repair will not last!! I was expecting more of a professional fix.

I was a fool to trust them. I have gone to a professional dentist and have had my broken denture repaired for an additional $247.00. The denture performs like it was never broken. I lost a week worth of groceries going to “ASPEN DENTAL”. Dentures are like Jewelry. Don’t go cheap with ASPEN DENTAL. The lead dentist offered me a refund. The office manager said I would get it. I respect them for that. The owner “Alison Teske” denied it and that tells me she has a desperation for money. Her facility is nothing more than a “DRIVE THRU DENTAL FRANCHISE” in search for easy and fast profit in her pocket. Go there in desperation and risk of loss of money, James **.

If I would have known a so called reputable company would give such poor customer service I probably would have gone a cheaper route. The Ocala Florida office still has yet to return my call. I asked for an office manager and was told she was too busy. I called their corporate office. No answer for 2 days and even put a rating on the company web page no response. Thankfully, I came here (This forum) FIRST! BEFORE,... moving forward with treatment!... I did so proactively, because something smelled fishy and red flags were already going up! Foremost, (and the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, as it were..) was their policy that I’m going to pay, in full,. my “Out of pocket”, when I schedule my appointment!? Seriously!?..YES!! They actually want you to pay,... (whatever they claim, your alleged patient portion will be, after insurance) when your appointment is set, often weeks out. Weeks BEFORE any service is rendered! What the..?? I’m 59, I’ve been around the block a few times. I’ve lived in several states and I have had many great and some not so great, providers through the years. But these guys take the cake! Thankfully, I saw this one coming. Aspen Dental is a well honed and lubricated ATM!

So in my case, as others (here) have indicated and mentioned, everything seems on the up and up, with the initial “evaluation”. The Panoramic x-rays, oral examination and such. What you don’t realize at the time, and sadly as so many others have discovered,... what is really happening, can be defined as more akin to, a “valuation”. $$ OF YOU!! So toward the end of their evaluation/valuation routine, there’s this ”financial guy”,.. that just happens to show up and sit in,.. (how convenient is that?) Again, toward the end of the exam. I mean really, I should’ve known right there! First red flag!

Next, you’re ushered into a room, where what unfolds next, is what can only be described as the same exact experience you feel, at a car dealership! “Good news! Your wife only needs 18K worth of work done!” Wow!... “For us today only!??”.... But wait! It gets better!! The same doc that examined her,... had her own practice, a number of years ago, at a time my oral health had gotten away from me. (I’m sure many of you can relate. Family, kids, responsibilities, putting everything and everyone else before you.) Anyway, at that time, this saaaame doc, told me my mouth was a train wreck and I needed $24K of work done!

Later, I found an honest doc that took care of everything for $6K! A decade ago, I’m now 59 with no major issues.... But ehh,... it’s only money.... You know, Just a measly $18,000 difference!... If you’re not feeling it,... a little sarcasm there,... Bottom line, The numbers were constantly in flux, fuzzy and convoluted. A wise man learns from his mistakes. Can you not be considered extremely wise,... to learn from those of others??

Because of how they do business, this may not be the best place to go for dental service! While they have made some effort to resolve my issues with my new dentures, it has not been without a lot of trouble on my part. At one point I thought I would have to secure a lawyer to help me through the process. After my initial visit, there was the presentation and their pricing structure is confusing and I believe it is deceptive. When they made my dentures, the top denture impression was done badly, and the denture did not stay in. Their initial solution was to apply a temporary (lasting about a year) reline. They did this twice and it was done badly both times. Also, during this same time they had a "technician" doing grinding adjustments without using the techniques that a Doctor would use to correctly identify the problem areas.

Finally, they agreed to make I knew impression and hard reline my new teeth. These teeth are OK except for one area that needs a little more work. Today is Thursday and the next time they can see me is next week on Tuesday. I would not recommend Aspen Dental as the best place to go unless you know exactly what to expect and are prepared for a battle to get it done.

My boyfriend went to Aspen for a consultation for problems with his teeth. They told him the best option would be to have them all removed and get dentures. After going over everything the total came to about $14,000 (and he doesn't have insurance). We pre-paid and the appointment was scheduled. They scheduled it for 3:30pm in the afternoon. My boyfriend asked them twice if that was enough time to get all his teeth out, put in the two implants for the bottom teeth, etc. They said yes, that's no problem. Three hours into the surgery they removed all but 1 tooth, did not do the implants and the surgeon was very rude. The surgeon told my boyfriend "your teeth were not ready to come out" and "I'm going to be here until 8 tonight and I still have to drive back to Dallas".

At three different times during the extractions my boyfriend had to tell the surgeon to calm down and not get frustrated. My boyfriend even told him that he was going to break his jaw and the surgeon said "that's a real concern right now". Now he has to go back in 3 months for another surgery to have his last wisdom tooth removed and his implants put in and then wait another 3 months to get his permanent teeth. Then on top of all of it, 9 days after the extractions, my boyfriend who is still in a lot of pain and believes they fractured his jaw (even though they said they did an x-ray and it was fractured) was still in a lot of pain.

I called the office on Thursday and left a message about getting him a refill on the pain medication. I received no call back on Friday, so on Monday I called back 3 more times to leave messages and finally got the refill sent to the pharmacy at 7pm on Tuesday. It seems as though they got their money upfront and don't care about the patient.

I repeated I needed the CD. She escorted me back out front and told me to wait and, "They will be with you shortly." After a long wait I asked the counter how long. She said there was no CD but could xerox a copy. After getting bad they took me in back and said they do not have the right machine for what I wanted. They now are destroying my credit as I refuse to pay $199 for a useless xerox of my teeth. They have not responded to my plea.

I kept asking about my chipped tooth. After they decided I needed a post, deep cleaning & referral to a oral surgeon, they dismissed me. I asked again about my tooth & they filed it & said they would do something when the other work is finished. My insurance covered a small amount but was lead to believe it would all be covered! NOW an appointment where my tooth was fixed & teeth cleaned. So what is all this if not a scam!

They would "replace" the tooth but they continued to fall out. Finally I insisted they make a new denture and they did but the same problem continued. I personally believe they super glue the teeth in. They are NOT embattled into the gum portion. I have had problem after problem with Aspen and I would never recommend them to anyone!!

They called me later that day to schedule me for the following day. That and a followup visit were in July 2019. As of this day, April 2020, I have a bill for $5618.14 on final notice! Apparently they have an inexperienced or inept staff in the billing dept because the bill shows my insurance paid nothing...which is impossible! I went to the Pooler, GA, office for my second visit since they were the only office in my area that accepted Cigna PMO. First of all I went in the prior Friday to make sure that my insurance was in order and was told that I was all set for my Monday morning appointment. I arrived early to make sure that I had time to fill out any paperwork needed. There was a lady in the office who irate because she had taken the morning off of work to bring in her child and upon arrival she was told that the appointment was cancelled due to the doctor filling in at a different office. They swore that that they had called, emailed, and messaged her. She promptly pulled out her phone and opened messaging, email and call log. Guess what, no messages or calls. They immediately shuffled her off to the back and "fit her in". I should have left then.

I needed a cleaning and to have a molar extracted because the one wisdom tooth that I have grew into it making it impossible to brush or floss. Taking my turn at the desk, I was immediately informed that my insurance did not cover extractions and I would have to pay $265.00 out of pocket. I did because I was in pain, figuring at worst I would submit it to Cigna myself. They eventually removed the tooth having to drill it out. Then I was informed that I needed a deep cleaning and I would need to pay $1027.00 out of pocket because my insurance only covered standard cleaning. I asked for the standard cleaning and was refused. The explanation was that since I needed a deep cleaning my insurance would not cover a standard cleaning because it would not do any good.

On top of that I was told that I needed a special antibiotic gel injected into my gums for an additional charge of course. I left after only the one extraction. I went online to Cigna to submit the claim and guess what...there is already a claim submitted by Aspen Dental for the $265.00 that I had already paid in full. DON'T GO TO ASPEN DENTAL FOR ANYTHING, THEY ARE NOTHING BUT, SCAMMERS.

Went to have extractions and upper denture. They gave me a temporary inexpensive rushed set until my gum was ready for the permanent "comfy fit" set. Well the upgraded set was horrible, ill fit and very large teeth. I looked like Frances the talking horse with a pair of slanted dentures. This was after 6 visits to the office for them to get them correct. The inexpensive temporary set was a better fit, but in 2 months the front tooth had fell out twice and had to be glued in. They further offended me by trying to convince me to take the horrible, ill fit teeth. This let me know that they do not care about the customer, only the money. I requested a refund and they told me I could have $100. I paid OVER 1K OUT OF MY POCKET. SOOOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Aspen Dental tells me it's my fault for not coming to them for teeth cleaning but I have two other Crowns for over fifteen years not installed by them and they are still just fine. I do not have dental insurance and paid them cash out of pocket. At 73 tears of age on a fixed income that is not easy for me. When I travel and they fall out I will have to pay another dentist to install them or perhaps build them right in the first place.

Went in next Monday, complained about the pain, she said it will hurt for a while. That's when I got mad, ask for another dentist and I have had problems ever since. Predatory. Beware of the SCAM. Prior to coming to Aspen Dental in my town, I specifically only saw reviews for the few locations local to me (I was unaware they were a franchise and incorrectly assumed it was a local network of offices). Many of the negative reviews locally were about dentures/issues related to work I wouldn't be needing. Since I've had adult teeth, I've need dental work done. It's an ongoing cycle and has unfortunately, worsened with age. I am never surprised to hear bad news at the dentist but Aspen took it to a whole new level.

First, I have to commend the patience I was shown while getting x-rays (it's always such an unpleasant process when you gag every 5 seconds) by a very sweet dental assistant who probably has no idea she works for such a scam company. I really hope to see her working at a better office one day since she would definitely be a person to help put patients at ease and feel welcomed. Aside from that... it's all downhill. First, the x-rays. Then I was told I'd be getting a 3D imaging scan on my teeth, this has been done at a different dentist office before for the purpose of Invisalign. Anyway, a DIFFERENT hygienist/assistant then comes in to do an exam and is stressing the point of how sensitive my gums are and how much i'm bleeding. He starts telling me about gingivitis, treatment, etc.

Dentist finally comes in (I've been at the office for ~1.5 hours) and a man sitting at the computer for whatever reason. The dentist never actually looked into my mouth and judging only based on xrays tells me that because of all my past dental work and the state of my teeth, wanting to preserve yada yada.... All of my TOP teeth will need crowns. ALL OF THEM. Keep in mind i'm 28 years old. A crown is not out of the question but this is much worse news than I'd expected. I knew I needed work done but didn't realize my dental health had gotten so out of control.

He also tells me my wisdom teeth need to go (this was expected) and that the surgeon who comes to the practice once a month can do it for me, but that the "whole mouth restoration" I need will need to be referred out "but don't worry we will refer you to a great doc who specializes in this stuff"... Please keep in mind he never actually looked in my mouth OR addressed the concerns that I specifically made the appointment for OR...addressed what would need to be done with the 16 teeth on the bottom of my mouth?

As I'm in a state of shock I'm then led into an office where a man immediately shows me a total balance that I owe Aspen, keep in mind that I'm not seeing the entire invoice page, just the total for today's visit and the estimate for wisdom teeth. After the insurance estimate, I owe 1,370.00. I am completely overwhelmed at this point and am starting to feel quite emotional. This man then says "I'm not sure what the other office will quote you, and what will be covered by insurance.... but you're looking at twenty thousand, easily. At best." I'm 28 years old. For the first time in my life I started to cry at the dentist office.

He assures me, "It's okay, we will figure it out," yada yada. He then, while i'm still wiping tears away, asks "do you want to see about financing?" Never once did he say "apply for financing" or "this means I will be running your info to apply for a line of credit" etc. I just say, "Okay sure" thinking he means financing through their office. He is busy on the computer while I have to fill out info for an oral surgeon to take my wisdom teeth out and before I know it I'm signing papers and told "Great, you're all paid up, you've been approved up to x amount"... Great? I then wait 40 more minutes for my "cleaning" which was just the man telling me over and over that I have gingivitis and doing a cleaning specifically for that (no brushing or polishing). I'm then given a very fancy tooth brush, a prescription toothpaste, prescription mouth wash and a dry mouth gel and told I need to come back in a week for a follow up to the cleaning.

Once the adrenaline of emotion had subsided, all the red flags began to come together in my mind and I immediately started looking into the issue and realized Aspen Dental builds their practices on this model. Sell sell sell and when you can't sell, UP-SELL. I began my search for a second opinion and within 48 hours found an amazing dentist. Getting Aspen to simply CANCEL my appointments was, no pun intended, like pulling teeth. I had to DEMAND they cancel my appointment, remove any services not performed yet from my bill (oh you know like all the sedation for wisdom teeth removal, surgery itself etc) -because news flash it's illegal to charge me for services you HAVE NOT PERFORMED. They tried to make me jump through every difficult hoop they could think of to get my records sent to the new dentist, but god bless the women in that office who knew better and helped me handle the mess.

I went to a different dentist who confirmed I needed my wisdom teeth removed (Which I knew), he took one look in my mouth and said "you absolutely don't have gingivitis, and I absolutely will not be doing any more than 2 crowns in your mouth." The new dentist office was so comforting and assured me that unfortunately, I was not alone in my experience with Aspen dental.

In summary, please please avoid Aspen Dental at all costs. ESPECIALLY if you are without insurance, have poor credit, have dental anxiety, are low on funds, elderly, easily taken advantage of, etc. If you do choose Aspen or recently have and are questioning their practice or what they've told you, TRUST YOUR GUT! It's well within your right to get a second opinion! You never know how much money you could be saving, let alone your health and well being.

I was told that I had to have these teeth cleaned before I would be able to discuss any other procedures (at a cost of 110.00). I have no insurance. Made an appointment with Aspen Dental in November 2019. Went in for a checkup and inquiry about dental implants. Had X-ray's done and a full radiograph. At this time I knew I had some other issues that needed to be taken care of. I needed a tooth pulled that had deteriorated under a 4 piece bridge. And had cavities where the fillings had fallen out. When the x-rays were concluded I was sent over to the hygenist area, where she did her thing picked and prodded and came to the conclusion that I had gum disease and would need this expensive treatment. The dentist came in after that and did a physical exam. Where he discussed the implants and this expensive treatment for my gums, when questioned about the problem tooth he says yea, yea we can do something about that he never mentions the cavities.

After the exam I go to another area where they are going to give me a detailed financial statement of costs and what my insurance will pay, estimate was around 40,000. After including discounts and payments from insurance the estimate is now right around 18,000. Didnt have a problem with that except, again it didn't include the things I knew were wrong.

I had already decided I needed to get a second opinion, because there was no sign of gum disease except the inflammation where the tooth already needed to be pulled. Went to another dentist gave him the same info and he had me see his hygenist the same day where she did a cleaning and said that there were no signs of gum disease and just keep up regular cleanings, we made another appointment for the tooth that needed to be pulled. At this time he refers me to an oral surgeon to discuss implants. The oral surgeons office advises that my insurance will only pay for one set of radiographs every 3 years and to request a copy from Aspen Dental.

I call Aspen Dental in January and request a copy of the radiographs and the girl tells me I should have them in 2 weeks. A couple of days later another girl calls me and says that I will have to pay 395.00 for the copy since my insurance never paid the claim. I contacted my insurance carrier and I am told there was never a claim made. So I call them back and tell them this and this new person says oh that's right the info you gave us was wrong. Go through the info it is all correct and they say they will make a claim.

I call a week later and they say they can't send them because I have a balance of 43.00 dollars. I ask her when were they going to advise me of this balance and she said we do not send billings. Paid the 43.00 balance and was told she would get the radiographs in the mail. As of today's date 03/05/2020 I still do not have copies of radiographs have had to cancel the appointment with the oral surgeon and am still waiting for a response from Aspen Dental.

Now they had all of my info including insurance. If the info given to them was wrong how were they able to give me estimate of care. I am glad that I decided on the 2nd opinion and had not done business with Aspen Dental. If they could not do a simple task of making a claim to my insurance or send requested radiographs in the mail, I would be very leery as to actual care you may get. The end result is I am now going to file a complaint with my insurance carrier and the Better Business Bureau.

I was crystal clear I wanted to come over and get the impression and have the crown installed as soon as it was ready. I understood and agreed to the price of the work. I followed up and confirmed my appointment and even came in early to complete the paperwork as scheduled. Then when I was called the tech told me they would do a new patient visit and schedule another day for the impression.

I told them I wanted the impression today as I had told them for months that was what I was there for. I agreed to a new patient check up but only if they would do the impression at the conclusion today. They would not. I talked with the office manager and told her the same thing but she said they were closing at noon today and did not have the time to do it. I left without getting any work done.

We could have done the new patient check up months ago but instead they wasted my time and caused me to make a 50 mile round trip that was wasted because they were not ready to do the work I had discussed and they had, in my opinion, committed to do. I am very disappointed with the lack of service and failure for the Beckley Aspen Dental clinic to perform the work we scheduled so long ago. Now I have lost this time and still have to have a qualified dentist complete the work. My company changed insurance options this year and I signed up for a new plan through Cigna. In exploring my new plan, I learned that not only did my insurer not participate with my current dentist, but that my insurer only participated with ONE provider--Aspen Dental. First, the closest Aspen office is 40 minutes away in another town. I am also aware that Aspen has been accused of predatory financial practices. Nonetheless, I needed an exam and cleaning, so I made an appointment.

I arrived at 1:50 pm for my 2 pm appointment and I was called to the back on time. At that point, an assistant confirmed a bit of medical history and then proceeded to take 14-18 x-rays of my mouth. No kidding. The x-rays alone took 15-20 minutes. I've never had ANY medical professional expose me to that much radiation at one appointment. After that, I sat in the dental chair for 10 minutes while she did who knows what behind me. Weird. Then she took photographs of the inside of my mouth for ANOTHER 10 minutes.

Finally, the hygienist came in. I've always loved my hygienists, so I was briefly relieved. However, she immediately tried to sell me Invisalign braces. Then she mapped my teeth recession and bone loss. (Spoiler: I'm 54, so I have some recession and minor bone loss.) She started talking about having the financial person come in and that's when I knew it was going to go badly. Exasperated, I asked if I was going to get an actual cleaning and exam, which is what I came in for. Seemingly confused, she flipped through my chart and then SHE left. Sigh.

10-15 minute later, cue the financial lady. After barely referencing the treatment plan in her hands, she pronounced that I needed a "deep cleaning" and that my share would be $600. WHAT?? I asked if I could just get a regular cleaning that day and schedule any periodontic treatment for a later time, but they refused. By then I had been there for a whole hour. No cleaning. No exam. Just an offer to relieve me of $600.

I got out of the chair, took off my little dental bib, and headed out. On my way out the front office staff was happy to add their "professional expertise" to the mix, ensuring me that they "just wouldn't be doing right by me" if they only did a regular cleaning and exam (just like I had gotten 6 months earlier at my previous dentist with zero fanfare). No, they did right by me by refusing to clean my teeth at all. They did right by me by recommending hundreds of dollars’ worth of treatment without so much as a handshake with the actual dentist. Sure. That makes sense.

I have, in fact, had the same sort of periodontic treatment they were recommending at least twice before. (Of course, I can't be CERTAIN it was the exact treatment, since they didn't actually discuss the procedure with me, just the money.) In those instances, I have NEVER had a dentist refuse to provide regular, covered treatment unless I agreed to some other extensive--and expensive--treatment on the spot.

I am going back to my previous dentist and just paying out of pocket. I need a real dentist, not a hard-sell operation masquerading as a dental practice. I have requested a copy of my treatment plan and I am most certainly going to ask my dentist what he thinks of their proposed treatment and fee, as well as whether Aspen may have caused me any potential physical harm with excessive radiation.

Now tell me why I needed to pay $800 when the dentures were on sale for $800 AND MY INSURANCE PAYS $1000.? Her answer was, "Oh the sale price is only for people without insurance." Now I know why our insurance is so high. Needless to say, I reported them to my insurance companies' grievance department. I'm a 70-year-old woman on just social security. The $800 they wanted for my dentures is more than my social security for a month. I hope people will read the reviews before they go to aspen on Sunset Blvd. in Lexington, sc. Shame on you ASPEN. I guess I will wear these 50 year old dentures until they bury me.

They sounded good at first. But, described things as being covered by my insurance which were partially covered or not covered at all. They kept referring to their care plan that was never shown to me. Gave a different answer every time the same question was asked. "Prescribed" products I did not need and billed me for them. After clearly saying that I did not want certain things tried to force them on me AND BILLED me for them. Wanted to pull teeth that did NOT need to be pulled. My list could go on. Only acted in their best interest, NOT in the best interest of the patient. They only want the fastest and easiest profit they could get. Very poor ethics. It is sad that they prey on those who do not know better dentistry is available and available for less total cost.

Hygienist tells you one thing. Billing tells you something else. Just now on February 5 2020 they say I owe $326.00 for January 19 2019. The hygienist never spent more than 20 minutes and always told me we were good cash wise. These people in Lynchburg Va are greedy and unprofessional. Just spent 10 minutes arguing with the receptionist. Never in 64 years of going to a Dentist have I ever been treated like this.

Told them no just wanted upper. Anyway.. they charged me excessive amt of money to have them pulled. Had the extractions done. My whole face was swollen.. Few areas of my gum were extremely sensitive.. A see later I have teeth or bone protruding out of my gums. Lots of teeth fragments were left in the teeth that was pulled. They want me to go back.. Hell no. Horrible job done. All they care about is money. It took the Dentist 3 minutes to pull 7 teeth. I laid all this money and now I will have to go see another Dentist to fix this. I will definitely not go back there.

My top tooth that held my partial broke my dentist had retired so I decided to go into Aspen dental because after calling them was told that they took my insurance. Had five teeth left in the top and after the exam was told that I had a gum disease. Had the five teeth pulled after being told that this was the best thing to do. Went in to get impressions a few days before the teeth was all pulled so they could fit me with temporary teeth. The morning I went back to get my teeth pulled after they were removed the temporary plate was so poorly made they didn't fit even after I got fitted for them before the surgery that morning. The doctor came back in and tryed to fix them to fit but they were just messed up. I began to cry because I didn't want to leave there with such a terrible fit and they were not correct which everyone could.

The lady that made the teeth came in with the doctor and two of the nurses and said let her come back in the morning after she stop bleeding so much and I will remake the plate. Went back the next morning still bleeding and they made me make another mold putting that molding materials right on my sore and bleeding raw gums. This was so painful because all of my feelings was back in my mouth by the next morning. Then after this plate was made it never fit while I was waiting to get my permanent plate. Paid in full 3000.00 dollars for these teeth. Was so upset I just asked that I go to another Aspen dental to get the permanent set done. Was told that it was ok to have it done in Savannah. Went to Savannah had them done and now two months after they made the top plate the front tooth just falls out while eating at a dinner party which I had to leave because I was embarrassed to be seen around guess. Please don't let them take care of your mouth. I'm sadden that I went to this dentist.

I broke my dentures which I've been wearing for 20+ years so I glued them together until I could save up the $4,000.00 to get new dentures for top and bottom. They got me in quickly for the consultation and actually did the mold of my teeth the same day. I came back a week later to try the wax mold to make sure I liked the look of the teeth and the placement. I paid in full at that appt. Once I paid all of a sudden they are too busy to get me in for weeks. I finally got my teeth but when I put the lower one in I almost screamed at how painful it was. She tried to grind them at least 8x. By then my lower gum was so inflamed I couldn't tell if the denture or my mouth was causing the pain so she said I should try it over the weekend and if need be they can realign it if needed.

I called Mon morning because they are still extremely painful and also when I showed them to my fiance he noticed a spot on the denture that looks like when she was grinding them she ground a small hole through the teeth. I told them all of that and it's going to take 3 weeks before they can see me. I'm going on vacation with my daughter in Feb and I'm praying they will be done before I go. Right now I can barely eat because I can't wear my lower teeth at all. I wouldn't recommend them at all. Once they get your money they don't care about you anymore.

I tell them they need to find me a day where both are available so they do for two weeks later and I'm like fine.

I got there at 9:14 AM, which I admit I was a bit late for my 9:00 AM appointment, but the fact I didn't get seen until 10:30 AM is RIDICULOUS! Then in those 30 mins NOBODY touched my teeth. They took two x-rays and then asked extremely vague questions about my teeth and STILL didn't touch my teeth. Then the receptionist comes in saying that my insurance has lapsed and they needed my most recent insurance before they could start and I was livid. Because that means I sat in the ** waiting room for an HOUR and no one had run my insurance to see if it was all up to date. If they had done that I would have easily been able to give them my new insurance so everything was fine when I finally went back but they waited until I was in the chair AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER!! I was so angry I just canceled my appointment and walked out right then. Terrible service and terrible waste of time.

On 8/11/19, I broke a lower tooth off at the gum line. It was a Sunday, my normal dentist was unavailable for service or to make an appt. I found Aspen online, found that they accepted my insurance; they were able to make an appt the first thing in the a.m; w/out knowing if I could get into my regular dentist, I made the appt. I was taken in for a full mouth xray, understandable. I was seen by a hygienist, who performed another exam; understandable. After her exam, I was surprised to learn about ‘extensive bone loss’, along w/ a recommendation to be treated right then w/ antibiotics.

Let me say that I have been going to a dentist 2 - 3 times per yr for cleaning/check ups to maintain bone/gum/tooth health. I am aware that there was loss but have never been told to the extent as advised by this hygienist. I questioned her as to why no one else ever mentioned this to me if it was so bad. She mumbled something that it was her job to make sure I was informed (as if I wasn't). I don’t recollect her exact response, but I do recall being confused by her findings & then pressured by her. I said that I'd have to put it off until I knew the cost of the day’s procedures along w/ the cost of the antibiotics. I now completely believe I was being upcharged.

Then, I was sent to the billing dept. I was told my services would total $9,538.00 & that my insurance wouldn’t cover anything. Suddenly, & I KNOW as a result of my reaction (I have the feeling she was afraid I would walk away), the billing coordinator, quote unquote, ‘double checked’ & lo & behold was able to confirm that my insurance would actually cover $3000.00 of it. I paid the remaining $6538.00 at which point I was told I was PAID IN FULL. I was then taken in to begin the procedure. I shared my concern that my teeth look ‘normal’ when I left & was ASSURED that would be the case, even though it was only a temp. In fact I shared this concern w/ the billing coordinator. She actually said "I guarantee you are going to love it".

I have had temp teeth before, & know for a fact that that should be the case, & so had no reason to think otherwise. I was advised that the procedure would involve 6 teeth, & that I would receive a 6 unit bridge. The broken tooth had to be extracted & the other teeth ground down in prep for the bridge. It turned into a nearly 6 hr procedure. Once the prep was done, the dental asst prepared the mold for the temp & placed it in my mouth to cure. Either this young lady was new, didn't understand the material she was working with, or just didn't know what she was doing, because she left the mold in my mouth too long & it could not be removed, after numerous, & might I say very uncomfortable attempts. It had to be DRILLED off, & the procedure repeated. The actual dentist I had that day then provided the service for the mold & removed that one timely.

After him shaping & reshaping the piece for a VERY long time, he finally placed it in my mouth, telling me the temp was ‘just for aesthetics’. The asst told me the same thing. I had no idea why they would say that, until I got home & looked at the blob of material that was placed in my mouth, that I had to wear for weeks. I was extremely uncomfortable in the immediate days following the procedure & made an appt for that Thurs. to come back in for check up. I arrived early, only to be told there are no dentists on Thursdays; the receptionist couldn't tell me why they would have made an appt but that I could feel free to make another one. I left.

When my perm bridge came in, I went to the office to have it placed in my mouth. I sat in the chair & the asst prepared to remove the piece. It would not come out. AGAIN. I had to sit through numerous & this time quite painful attempts at removing something from an already tender mouth. They pulled & tugged & maneuvered it, & then they actually started breaking pieces of it off, one at a time, w/ a clamp, in my mouth. I finally said ENOUGH. I had to be numbed again to have it drilled off, by a very impatient dentist, I might add, as if she couldn’t believe I was making such a big deal of out of it!!

In addition, & needless to say, I expected that the same dentist who worked w/ me to prepare my new bridge, would be the one who would actually make certain it fit nicely in my mouth. That was not the case. This other dentist came in, numbed my mouth & drilled the temp piece out. She picked up the permanent piece, literally stuck it in my mouth, told me to bite down a couple of times; she then told me if it didn’t fit right I could come back & have it ground down, or polished down, & sent me on my way.

Well, on the way out, it’s required to stop at the reception area. I did. I inquired, & was told I was PAID IN FULL, for the 2nd time. To say this was a horrible experience or that I trust anything about Aspen would be an understatement. And now I get a bill for $1700.00! I hate that I have to give 1 star to send this review, they don't deserve it. I am joining the class action suit against them.

I told them I had 200 dollar threshold, was quoted 285 and when I said no, she informed me she was taking 200 so she was okay with forgiving the rest. What the heck? Check with your Insurance to find out how much they cover. Which I did! Then when you receive your price sheet, you will be shocked (they will try and add a lot of stuff you never ask for, like a lot of rip off scam artist try and do) but that's only the start of it. Once you get them to remove a lot of the stuff you didn't ask for they tell that some of it is required and has to be done to proceed. Cleanings and Fluoride Varnishing???

Now for the biggest scam part< you will find out (because the numbers are still way out of whack) that the website prices are supposedly just for people without insurance. If you have insurance it much higher. They basically naturalize what your insurance pays. They will tell your website says it, but it doesn't and they couldn't show it to me, they tried for 15 minutes and gave up. So I said I want the advertised price and they said, "Well we have it listed as starting pricing, so your price is the original price, and the advertised price doesn't apply to you because you have insurance." All of this left me feeling uncomfortable since I was planning to have major work done. Simultaneously, after each visit to ASPEN, I would receive notifications from United Concordia, my dental insurance, stating that procedures performed by ASPEN were ineligible under my plan (which I was not informed in advance). The second office manager, Bryan, assured me that I would not be responsible for services not covered under my plan and the letters from my United Concordia specifically stated that, “The Provider has agreed not to bill you for the difference between the PROVIDER’S CHARGE and the allowance for this service.”

Near the end of November, I informed ASPEN that I wasn’t returning, but they continued to leave messages and to schedule me an appointment. I just wanted my account closed but with changes in office managers, they were always too busy to discuss my account and I kept getting conflicting balance amounts that they could not explain or justify. They went from a 0 balance, to a $600 balance, and today they reported a balance of $222.66. During my initial visit to ASPEN, I qualified for dental financing. But, before the services commenced, ASPEN drew down $2,296.74 from Dental Financing.

I made numerous visits to the ASPEN Dental to see the “newest” office manager, Delvecchio, to close out my account, but he was always busy. I have left numerous messages for him, but he doesn’t return my calls. I was finally able to reach Delvecchio this morning. He quickly snapped that he had refunded $2,000 to the finance company but deducted my pending balance – without discussing it with me or receiving my authorization. Having held the money for 3 months without performing the services, the money should have been returned with interest. I have made a report to the Better Business Bureau for the reimbursement of money that Delvecchio unduly and unethically deducted from my account, along with interest since the money was withdrawn and held in abeyance for services not performed.

My 10/18/19 1:10 appointment was for a cleaning, which NEVER happened, that I arrived early for. Went back for the full mouth xrays then was put in a chair. The hygienist came in did her thing and told me that I needed a $300+ deep cleaning and left. "Can't do it today as I was suppose to be off at one." Hello? Apt was for 110? Obviously no type of cleaning was going to be performed today. The service that my appointment was for.

Next in was the dentist. 15 minute exam later and you have 12 small cavities. Need to set up appointment schedules and payment plan to get started. Sent to front for checkout, told I have great insurance, my out of pocket cost only $1200. Sign up for their payment plan and I'm billed right then, BEFORE ANYTHING is done, $700+. 3 hrs later I leave, tired and hungry. Decide Monday second opinion wanted, call and cancel all procedure apt. Received calls from both the hygienist AND owner asking why. WTREALLY?

The end of November I get a bill from Dent 1st for payment on the $700+ because they never backed out the payment. Had to call back TWICE the beginning of December to get them to issue a credit. December 27th there's another bill payment request for $47, again for service NEVER rendered. I'm having to make MULTIPLE calls AGAIN, to have them issue credit AGAIN, for services NEVER received, AGAIN. Also note that a request for dental xrays was submitted that as of 12/27/19 I still have not received.

I did a few of the items that were required but left a few things not done. The next visit they scheduled me I had to wait over half an hour before the dentist even came in to see me then had to wait another hour for the work to be done, they overbook appointment which is not fair to have to waste my time while dentist sees other patients. I left that day very unhappy.

Since I didn't complete some of the allotted work I got a crown on one of my teeth because I knew all of my insurance was not used and it wouldn't cost me as much as originally planned. I go for the work and again have to wait a long time due to overbooking. The dentist did the work but left the assistant to finish the crown prep thus causing her to hurt my mouth and me being in a lot of pain. When I went they charged me a price which I paid, go back 2 weeks later only to have a different dentist finish the crown. No other payment was asked for.

Three weeks later I get a bill in the mail for the same amount I had already paid. I call them asking about it. The girl I spoke to didn't seem to know what she was doing and put me on hold for someone else to answer my question and I got a whole explanation that was bull. She claimed it was still due and I was very annoyed that I would have to pay for some much more than I expected. I would have never gotten the work done if that was the case.. I will never use them again due to cost change and time and staff.

I can tell you I felt no pain including the needles. The entire office, in this particular case DR George ** and his assistant April have turned what I perceived a nightmare into a pleasure. I no longer have any fears of going knowing the entire office is there for your every need. THANKS TO ALL.

We thought going to Aspen in Chesterfield MI was the answer to a problem I was having with my teeth. After experiencing throat cancer in 2009, the radiation did a number on my gums and teeth. So after 10 years dentures seem to be the answer. Went to Aspen based on their ads and that should have been the first clue that we were making a mistake. Fortunately the top dentures seem to work out fine, but the bottom denture never fit. I was hospitalized for six weeks from May to June 2019 and after returning to aspen, for an permanent bottom denture, the problems began.

From mid July to today December 19, 2019 there have been many adjustments and would have been more but we could not get scheduled. I have not been able to eat since May except for soup and puddings. So today I find out that they now want to charge my 149 for adjustments. When I asked for paperwork that states adjustments will be charged after so many and they said they were never ask that question and would try to find backup for their statement. Satisfaction guaranteed is just a buzz work for Aspen. Do not believe it. Now we have to find another dentist to fix what we already paid for. DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR ADS.... I was not having any problems with my teeth, but they didn't want my low cost business. Very unprofessional. They will be my dentist as long as I give them the $2500.

Aspen Dental seemed like the right place to go for a root canal and a crown until it turned out not to be. I went to Aspen Dental in Bloomingdale, which is a 45 minute drive from where I live. Not to mention each time I had to go I could not work. So I went in June of this year and had a root canal done. Everything seemed fine as I wasn’t in any pain. They did a good job with the pain management portion and I guess when you're paying over $1200 that’s the least they could do. Anyhow this is where it gets bad. I was scheduled to come in a week later for the crown, which was over $900 and I had paid all of this up front.

Upon arriving to my first appointment I was notified that they could not put the crown on because it was the wrong size and could not fit. They put a temporary crown on the tooth to protect it. Things happen so I didn’t trip and scheduled another appointment for the following week. Again I arrive at my second appointment only to find out a second time that the crown could not fit properly on the tooth and therefore they had to try a different way. So instead of them doing the mold they decided to do a 3D scan. They guarantee that this would work and so I was rescheduled to come back in the following week.

Upon my arrival on the third visit come to find out that the crown still did not fit. A different dentist walked into the room, looked at the crown, the x-ray, my tooth and the look on her face told me that something was wrong. She then told me that the crown was the wrong size and that this never happens. They needed to do another 3D scan and another fitting. I told them that this was unacceptable and I demand my money back so that I could go to another dentist. I have already lost a lot of revenue traveling back and forth and shutting down my business for these appointments. Also once a root canal has been done you have a limited time to get the crown on so that you will not get an infection from the tooth being exposed. Well I was refunded my $900 and thought this nightmare was over.

I scheduled an appointment with another dentist and was told that whoever did my root canal did a poor job cleaning the root canal by not going deep enough. They refused to do the root canal stating that I needed to go back to the original dentist and get it corrected. The dentist stated that if she puts a crown over it and something happens to my tooth she would be liable since she would have been the last one to touch it. Frustrated and irritated not wanting to go back to that location I researched to see if they had another location.

About a month or so later I found that they had a location in Bolingbrook so I scheduled an appointment there. Why a month, because I had to play catch up at work as well as trying to find an opening in my schedule as well. Anyhow the dentist was really nice and upfront about everything. After looking at my x-rays he wasn’t sure if he could take me and had to ask his manager. The regional manager Brittany said that he could take me. He did an x-ray and had to schedule me to come back for the molding. I came back a week later and then they did the molding and was scheduled to come back in a week to have it put on. In the meantime I am starting to fill pressure building up in my gums.

I go to my third visit and I explain to him about the pressure and he states that ”it's an infection in my root canal”. So he prescribed me a ** to kill off the infection and to come back a week later and we could see if the infection was gone. I arrive at my fourth appointment and come to find out that the infection is still there. We agree for me to take ** and if that didn’t work I would have to go to a specialist. You guessed it, as I arrived to my fifth and final appointment the infection was still there and I had to go see a specialist which he referred me to. At this point I scheduled an appointment with my parents dentist to get another opinion since this company has failed to rectify the situation. I arrive at my second opinion and the dentist verifies that it is an infection and that I had to go see a specialist. He referred me out and I scheduled the appointment.

I arrive at the appointment with the specialist and he confirms that it’s infected and he could take care of it for a little over $1200. This is the price that I already paid to Aspen Dental and they did a poor job and so what should have only cost me $1200 is now going to cost me $2400. I think not. So after getting this news I contact Aspen Dental Corporate to request my money back for the root canal as well because I have to have it done over. Brittany tells me that I signed a paper stating that it might fail. With that being true it didn’t fail but the job was done poorly. I can not afford to come out of pocket with another $1200 for another root canal on the same tooth. I should not have to pay for a job done and cared for poorly. Brittany told me that if I can have my second opinion write a letter stating that the job was done poorly she would refund my money.

Truth be real what other professional thats in the same industry is going to write to their fellow colleagues a letter of them doing a poor job with their name on it. I believe Brittany knows that they dropped the ball on it and instead of humbling themselves and taking it as a lost they would rather put the loss onto the customer (patient). So if you want a company that cares about their customers (patients) Aspen Dental IS NOT THE PLACE.

No explanation, no nothing other than "get another opinion if you want". I said, "I might. Thank you." Never saw him again.

Scaling and planing seem to be a standard business norm and cost about 1000 (not covered by insurance). Now I read and hear that is a norm with them. Advert says open Saturdays. They are not. Offered finance plan that charges prior to services rendered= interest charges prior to services rendered. Blood pressure wrist cuffs way off. Went to walk in doctor as a result to get it waived per dentist instruction. 1st question from nurse was, "Did you come from Aspen?"

I explained that I questioned the blood pressure cuffs accuracy. She laughed and believes they are too. Blood pressure was well within limits for extraction per guidelines published by the American Dental Association. Called back dental office to reschedule. Still declined to extract and rather referred me to an oral surgeon they are connected with with again, no explanation. It would be my thoughts they get paid for referrals as well. Overall experience is less than one star.

When I first came to the Aspen Dental in Concord, NH, it was a great experience. They helped me through getting over my dear of the dentist, they were transparent, especially with pricing, and scheduling and appointment was easy. However, within the past 4 months, my experience has been very different.

    1) I was told doing a payment plan for my Invisalign would be easy and there was no penalty if I missed a payment. This was beyond incorrect. I missed a payment and my credit was immediately hit. I have overheard them say this over and over to other Invisalign patients and it is misleading and deceitful.
    2) My appointments have been moved or cancelled, without my knowledge, and I only found out about these changes because I either showed up in the office and they were not expecting me for another week, or when I called double checking my date and time only to find out that my appointment doesn't exist.
    3) They are notoriously behind. For example, I have waited 25+ minutes to be seen on multiple occasions.

    4) They changed my appointment type without telling me, and blamed it on Invisalign. I came in one day to get my first trays, only to find out they had to re-do the pictures. Again, I wasn't told until I arrived in the office.

Although the staff is friendly overall, and the work that is done is decent, as soon as I am done with my Invisalign, I will be leaving Aspen Dental.

Was told they did not make them properly. The broke again Nov. 6th 2019. I went in and they made and appointment for Nov 20th. I went the first 10 days eating ice cream and pudding. I should have gone to ER. So my brother had enough and glued them so I could at least eat mashed potatoes and such. I was keeping Aspen informed through all of this. I go there yesterday and the dentist would not even listen to my problem and kicked me out of the office. It is not so much the dentures now. It is the way I was treated. I am going to fight this. The same cards from 2 separate active checking accounts! They didn't have the common decency to inform me there was a problem. I asked if they could cut me a check. She said it comes from corporate. I asked so when can I get my refund. She said they would submit a ticket for a refund to corporate by Friday. If it is approved they will process it, it will take an addition 7-14 days time to receive the refund. If the bank reject it again they would start the process over and it would take an additional 7-14 days to receive a paper check. I asked for corporate number. She said she didn't know it. Look it up and hung up on me. This is a bad business practice.

Being retired and having no dental insurance I was told that BC/BS had an affordable plan for couples. Was pleased to find a plan for $82/qtr that covered 2 cleanings, Xrays and very reasonable coverage for other procedures with low deductibles. The problem was finding a decent provider. After a lot of trial and error we found Aspen Dental.

All started well. The facility (Owings Mills) was clean, modern and the staff very amenable. But things soon went downhill. The staff turned over a lot and we never had the same hygienist. The dentist we saw were okay. I had a troublesome front tooth and was talked into a $5000 implant. When I showed up with the check in my pocket I asked the Office Manager why she wouldn't return my calls. She essentially went off on me and threatened to have me arrested when I went off on her.

The Corp Office straightened that out and things got back to "normal" until our last visit. First we were told that they were no longer accepting DHMOs but would continue to honor ours. Then we weren't charged the $20 deductible for our cleanings which turned out to be thorough brushings after which we were told that we needed the deep cleaning and scaling. Long story short, we went back to our old dentist and were told that we in fact didn't need those procedures... all of our reading were like 2s with a couple of 3s. I would highly recommend steering clear of this place even if one has good insurance... especially if one has good insurance.

Went to Aspen Dental. Was treated with lots of respect and caring. Had horrible teeth. Dentist gave me a long term major solution and if I couldn't afford that a fix that would get me by (pulling a couple teeth) then went back to manager office and was quoted a cost with what my insurance covers. At which point I called care credit and was approved for that amount, well beyond actually. Had all the major dental work done over a two month time period and everything was fine even good.

So an appointment was made for me to talk with manager about cost for partial and different type of partials. I live an hour and a half from closest Aspen because thats closest dentist my insurance covered so I couldnt just show up anytime thing had to be planned out. Showed up at time scheduled and manager not there that day but the lady behind the desk said they already know my cost because it is a specific amount. I agreed to cost and was going to use my care credit but was told that we couldnt use that because I had a credit for my insurance overpaying and I had to use that first. So to use that credit they had me go back for a special cleaning and to be fitted.

Everything was fine and I was to come back in a week to make sure thing fit right before being cast. At that point they said I am all even with amount owed so I paid with care credit for my partials. Came back in 2 weeks later and they werent quite right so they had to send them in and I came back another couple weeks later. Never an issue. Partials fit great and I was a happy customer.

Fast forward 3 months and I get a bill for almost $1500. I called and asked why and they said I did not pay for my partials ($999). When I said I did AND I pulled up care credit on computer while talking to them so I had all the info then whoever I was talking to said someone would have to call me back. A week of no call I called and was then told my insurance didnt pay everything so what I paid was applied to that and not partials, however they still didnt have date right. When I questioned that and I questioned what about my credit for insurance overpayment. Then was told their record dont show what my records show nor what their bill even shows, so someone has to call me back.

A few days later I got called and was told my bill was only 300 but yet I have bill say almost 1500 and they wanted me to come in for another cleaning the next day. That would be 3 cleanings in five months, that didnt sound right so I questioned. Was told someone would call me back, was called back and was told everything was fine. I just need to come in. But I declined to just come in.

Fast forward another couple months now Aspen Dental keeps calling leaving message to call local office when I do I am back to owing 1500 but they have no records of me paying ANYTHING by care credit even though I have all the info. Next I get care credit involved and I get told Aspen will look into it and contact me but only contact I am getting is same robo call telling me to call local office and when I do I get a different person each time and they are confused and says someone will contact me. Total process going on 11 months so far and Insurance says they paid everything billed to them, and care credit billing me for charges done by aspen dental and I been paying that.

This was the first time I had gone to Aspen Dental. I went to get new Dentures. No one was at the front desk for a long, long time. There was a sign that said if a person was late they would have to reschedule. I was there very early, When someone finally came out, I was given a long form with medical questions to fill out (which should have been sent thru the mail earlier), because there were a LOT of questions that most people would not know off-hand. Luckily, I had brought all my medical info with me. They x-rayed my mouth (which I told them I did not think I needed, because I have no teeth). After the x-ray, I saw the Dentist and told her I could not afford and did not want implants, we talked about the dentures.

The Dentist did seem to be a very nice person, not her fault where she works I suppose. I told them quite a few times to send their estimate of the price they are asking for my dentures to my Dental Insurance Office for what is called a pre-determination or pre-treatment estimate, as you probably know, insurance companies usually don't pay the full amount that is requested. And, I wanted to know ahead of time from the Insurance Company what my share of the bill would be. I told them this needed to be done ASAP, and please put a "rush" on it, because I really, really needed new dentures. I called my Dental Insurance Office today (8 days after my dental appointment) and they have not received a request for a pre-determination/pre-treatment estimate.

It is Monday, Aspen is suppose to be open from 7-5 today. I called 3 telephone numbers that are listed. They are all Aspen Dental numbers. I got messages on all 3 that I should call back during business hours. I called around 1-2 p.m. I know they are supposed to be open today. No way to get a hold of them. I'm going to tell them that I find they have not even submitted a Pre-treatment estimate to my Insurance Office and then on the print out they gave me of charges for dentures they don't even have the correct group number for my insurance. Sad. I will have to go elsewhere. But I could have saved a LOT of time and grief by not going to them in the first place.

I expected, as advertised, as a new patient to begin with a consultation, meet the dentist, discuss a plan. Instead, I was taken directly to the panoramic x-ray room by someone who had no idea why I was there. Long story made short, I have serious pre-existing health issues and needed to know if I were a candidate for upper dentures, or what else could be done for an infected crowned tooth, and another broken tooth. I was given no alternatives by employee Jessi... They couldn't discuss anything without the panoramic x-rays (I've had massive radiation from ears down due to cancer on my heart and was terrified of more. I have many problems from that). She eventually let me speak with a dentist.

Turned out that the dentist and at least three other overbearing employees had no compassion and seemed to try to humiliate me by telling me at length how harmless radiation is today. It was repeated three, or more, times. I needed to get help with my teeth, so I finally agreed to the panoramic scan. The tech was a very young girl. She had me remove my earrings, but not my glasses, necklace, nor metal hair clips at the sides of my head.

After the scan she said something went wrong and my scan was not good and she would have to do it over again. I refused. Two other workers joined the young tech and told me it had to be done. Well, no it didn't and I refused. So the techs spoke with the dentist, and I heard one say that it didn't work because I was "too short." I am 5'2" with another inch added for my shoes 5'3". Soon the dentist tried to convince me that I need another scan--mine didn't turn out because I am "too short."

They scan kids don't they? Aren't other people 5'3"? I'm betting that this young girl is not a Licensed tech or that would never have happened, nor would such a horrible attempt at an excuse be acceptable even by the dentist. I was so traumatized by this entire event that I became physically ill which created an issue with my heart that was just today seen by my family doctor, with an upcoming cardiologist appt. on Monday.

I had asked in writing for a copy of a bitewing x-ray they did and also a copy of the scan which, according to the advertising on their website can be had for FREE by the patient after their visit. I was told my scan was not in their computer. And, at this time I am still waiting for the bitewing to be sent... 3 weeks and counting. Bottom line: False Advertising, Lies, possibly unlicensed personnel.

Aspen is a rip off, now she has dentures that do not fit properly. Such a scam. DO NOT USE ASPEN DENTAL.

My temporary dentures fit me perfect. About a year later I got my permanent ones. They made them too narrow chunks of food was getting lodged in my cheeks and I got blisters and now calluses on both sides of my tongue. Finally they said they would redo them. Worst mistake I made. They were so bad so I asked for my money back so I could go somewhere else. They said no it's a ninety day money back guarantee (your gums take 6 to 12 month before you can fitted for your permanent set) so needless to say to with all the damage that my dentures caused me I will have to send 10,000 to 20,000 to fix, I have to get my bottom gums rebuilt and a whole new set of dentures that fit correctly. When I smile you can't even see that I have bottom teeth.

By the time every salesperson (because every person in their office is dually trained as a high power salesperson) got done with me and they actually got to my procedure it was 11 am. The only reason I didn't walk out was the pain I was in. They ate also way overcharging. I overpaid (I was a cash PT) by at least $150. This is not my first rodeo. I will never go back. The whole appt was nothing but a high powered rag teamed sales pitch.

The doctor only waited about 2 minutes after giving me numbing shot before he started to try to extract tooth and it caused pain. Every other time I got dental work doc would wait 10 to 15 min after giving shot for it to take effect. After 5 days it was hurting so bad I couldn't sleep right. After taking 15 ** a day for 2 days straight my stomach started to feel upset. Called them to ask if it was possible to get a 2 or 3 day supply of something stronger till all the bone chunks worked their way out. Their response left me feeling accused of being some type of junkie and was told their doctors don't prescribe any pain medications. Then they wanted me to return to the butcher that worked on me the first time (apparently so he could finish me off). Do not go to Aspen dental, you will regret it. I also paid more out of pocket for this extraction with insurance covering half than I did for my last extraction when I had no insurance.

They overbill and the work is horrible. A month later I have lost a tooth I shouldn’t have because of Aspen was charged for an emergency gum fix but ended up with a sunken gum with a huge hole and they won’t see me even though I am in pain, my mouth is swollen and they did the procedure wrong. They billed it so insurance won’t pay it. I paid in full but they won’t respond or return calls.

They lied and said I could come in and get a refund but then cancelled the meeting and don’t return my calls. They don’t care about your life, welfare and certainly not about your teeth. It’s all about money. They don’t tell you about options to help with the $13000 they demand for merely 4 teeth. They call you names after and insult you rather than address the problems you end up with due to their improper, unnecessary and inaccurate work. Avoid!!!

First their advertising is false to put easy everything they say just put in opposite view and run. I was lucky I caught them before they got to do any procedures. Only had two visits first was great with dr. ** staff friendly very understanding. But nightmare is when called three days after my first visit while waiting for to consult main dentist due to my bad health my tooth had broke off more night before wanted to let her know so they could see how fast this was happening. I’d already been in pain for months. I was born with crohns and UC which caused others health issues. Have been looking with my family my whole life for someone to help with mouth issues and be able to afford being disabled and single mom. My main doctor had been even looking for help.

My first visit I received a treatment plan with guaranty price after discounts was bout 12,000 so still stumped and upset trying to figure out where do I get that I countions to look for someone to help via dentist or someone maybe help with cost a little. First visit 8/23/19 at end of august even sicker I called Aspen back asked if dr ** could see me tell me where I was at. They said they main dentist dr. ** had tried to call me on 8/27/19 to have me come back in to check on me. I never got any calls. My phones on 24/7 by me at all times due to health. Was not in records. They didn’t try to leave any messages or email. But wanted me in ASAP hearing how Ill I was.

So first week of September 2019 my mom and I went to see dr. **. He’s was able to get me in fastest. They didn’t do anymore x-rays. My visit took almost three hour for him just to look around my mouth in while saying other patients at same time. He didn’t seem to be listening to me. Diagnosed me with a genetic jaw bone issue and said had infection in the bone on top all issues going on with my teeth. I had called the governor of Missouri who got in contact with give agency to help me but they said in order for them to help me I needed a dentist last seen and primary care. Call them and assure this was connected to either freak traumatic accident or Major health issues that would cause this shouldn’t been a problem. We told dr. ** this along with two different office administrators who all said not only to me but my mother wouldn’t be a problem.

Dr. ** told me he wasn’t aware crohns could cause mouth issues and I told him "Please call my doctor". With my health they need to be in contact. Anyhow he agreed they gave me another treatment plan and estimate after discounts of over 17,000. So jumped 5,000 that short of time? Next I know is my doctors saying he spoke to doctor ** and was very confused which raised my flags. I asked he said first thing he was told was not aware about crohns in mouth and what it can do. Second is he didn’t think my case that debate after telling me I was infected bad but he didn’t mention to my doctor the infection he told us about was in the bone but no instead told him not infected due to not seeing any absences or puss pockets. My doctor I said "Say no more let me find out why this doesn’t match".

I called aspen asked to please speak to dr ** plus I needed to know if needed to go to er and needed signs of being septic. First office staff said he couldn’t come to phone have to get back with me and second they don’t tell anyone the signs of being septic not their job?! Even as sick as I was I waited for a call me knowing they close early that day. I finally called back to find office closed. So called on call dentist which was dr ** the first one I saw. She was very concerned and upset. First she told me what to watch for with infection but knowing my health and how long been this way if couldn’t stand go directly to er. Told her also confusion between dr. ** and my promarary and I left a message when I first called for him to get back with me because I didn’t know what was what or maybe he got patients confused and he wouldn’t talk to me or call me back.

She said this was a Friday night that Monday first thing when she gets into work she talk to dr ** and the first office administrator bout what’s going on and what’s going on and to see when she could get me in ASAP if I didn’t hear from her Monday sometime to call. I waited til Tuesday nothing so called office again. It was like I called he’ll right off. First staff rude and abusive second was told dr ** would not return my call period or speak to me. I asked to speak with dr. **. They informed me that Monday she quit without letting anyone know. Asked to speak to original office administrator that also was so trying to help me. They snapped at me said she wasn’t in that office today. So I asked why dr. ** wouldn’t speak or see me. They followed very rudely and said he was now only dentist in that office but runs it and not only would he not see me but not allowed in his office ever again and not to call back.

In complete shock and tears by this time and angry they offered to refer me to lee summit mo. Office even though rude thanked them. Before got a chance to call they called me person rambled his name very gruff and you couldn’t make out told me he was from lee summit aspen dental and I was sent to him by independence mo. Location by dr. **. They man had issues with me from start. First thing he asked was what type of treatment do I need? I just simply asked "if the other office sent you my info and dr. ** spoke to you" and I’m sick I have to start from beginning? He said yes all the way around. That my two t guarantee priced treatment plans as of that day are void. He not only main dentist for lee summit but over sees kansas city area offices and was administrator. He kept asking when I wanted to come in. I was beyond upset at this point.

He also informed me he had my records just weeks old two couple of months. And dr ** personal notes. I laughed at this point was curious if he told my health doctor a different story what he tell this guy. He very angrily said "Ok you will come this day this time all new xrays full and exam" and he knew before seeing me I was on Medicare and Medicare and disabled said to me not to expect any discounts what so ever no coupons and better bring cash. How do you take that insult on your health just you or making his own humor off knowing I don’t have money and I’m disabled. Was this he kind way of saying not welcome here? Yes it actually was. He was so angry he let it slip that dr ** and they off administrator were both fired the same day Monday when they were trying to help me. They were fired for being good kind compassionate people. I’m so sorry to both for this.

He also stated not just fired but not allied back ever to any office and finished by saying "including you do you understand". Yes banned nationwide from aspen dental and left looking for help sick as all get out. Not once offered anything for pain from they broken teeth or completely exposed nerve. No my doctor helped me there. Thought over but my sister being very concerned for me referred me to her dentist. They were kind enough to see me again. My mom was with me have learned over years always bring someone with you to all appointments.

We approached this doctor did not tell him about aspen or the countless ones I’ve seen since a child. He asked my concerns. We told him "You look at me like it is for you with out any input please tell us what’s going on?" He did new xrays wants to try to save teeth I have need one pulled the genetic jaw disease and infection in bone which aspen said had to be surgically removed from bone and jaw didn’t exist. We told him what I was born with. He instantly said oh yes and the meds she had to take for decades straight at that time even know would do this and the vomiting that just seems to go with crohns so then ask what additional health issues did I have already knowing crohns and UC affects everything in the body but causes other Auto immune diseases. He said basically the amount of pain I’ve been in for so long and my teeth were most likely causing me to be so sick.

We also found out that only going to be 1 to 2,000 not a car. We were also told still didn’t give aspens name that if they would have started any treatment plan which we did not show him just on hearing what they diagnosed me with falsely would have left me disfigured and having no immunity dead. Just before the gentleman from lee summit office hung up on me he said he would see I got my complete medical records from them. I didn’t get anything til after seeing this new dentist and when I did more shock he sent me a copy of supposed original treatment plan and price for the one visit to dr. ** first floor that’s what they considered records but I kept original nothing matches nothing not even date of visit this is not what he gave my mother and nor told us.

And yes during my simple should been painless exam from him he did intentionally hurt me with one of those picks things and I was told I’m the issue I caused this I called too much. I’m sorry only two visits max six calls over medical emergency and trying to speak to the doctor wow they care!!! Oh yes also stated from lee summit office and such a nice guy let me tell you but when he had me in tears he let me know even if I saw him he wouldn’t call the SSD the governor had ready to help as soon as they talked to someone I told him dr. ** and administrator for that day and they one they fired said be no problem in my case would be issue he told me against there’s policies and non of offices aloud or will do it and he flat out said he really didn’t believe me because he had the doctors notes that didn’t even match me.

I said so nicely but rudely you calling me a liar. He for once ** his mouth which everyone knows means yes so let him no ok you ready to say the same to my son, boyfriend, mother, doctor and his musing staff you ready to do that? That’s when he hung up. Their reviews are screened if you leave a bad review or damaging or they don’t like it it disappears anything they are connected directly two or Monitor is lies. There are site that have real reviews even from former employees dear god in heaven. I called corporate to speak with ceo of nation wide company also is head dentist overseer of nation wide company and owner. I got basically his Receptionist. I will be honest was very nice seemed concerned to hear this happened I informed he might want to look into who’s running his company and look for actually reviews.

That I was lucky I’ve seen what’s been going on all over in there offices and not only horrific but terrifying. We continued to talk about my experience. She also informed me no it’s her job that no one get to speak with corporate ceo unless it’s a legal person this was as high up as you get. She asked what they could do to help correct this I said first a true apology letter from dr ** and staff. Also informed her that as of last Monday he was only dentist for that and in that office at that location handling everyone that very Evident Dr ** might have schooling but was not to of class that he needed to be stopped ASAP giving false diagnosis unnecessary procedures and no knowledge of health issues affecting mouth needs to go back to school plain simple the offer should be shut down also and everybody needs to be educated on compassion and being kind towards others.

She said they were going to put into a investigation but I will not no when or outcome and not aloud to. So still being kind through all this and as understanding as possible due to her restrictions on her job she has to hate Nicky said ty for letting us know but we’re not going to do anything. I thought I was before the dentist and I’m petrified to that extreme but only this but my child and yes I am a single mother and all he’s got had to hear what they have to say.

Also, she had an LED light on her forehead and sometimes shined it in my eyes and continued in the same position even though I turned my head to avoid the light. In another incident, I was supposed to receive a refund and didn’t receive the refund for months (numerous phone calls). My gums needed to be be treated but they have felt worse for months since they were treated. Setting the appointment was easy enough- on-line, user friendly. That's where it ended. I go in and had to fill out a ton of paperwork on top of what I did on-line. Fine. I get that. Then took endless (and very painful) x-rays (it's not supposed to hut is it?) and was ushered to a room, and proceeded to wait about 15 minutes for the salesman- I mean doctor to come in and go over the x-rays. I got the standard spiel, "Teeth look good, get a softer brush, you have one cavity that we need to get filled." Then the doctor (who kept wiping his runny nose with his hand) told me that I needed to get a "deep cleaning" and the benefits of the deep cleaning, get an up-to-this-point non problematic wisdom tooth out that may cause troubles in the future and get that cavity filled. I'm good with all of that, until the finance lady took me to her office.

Even with my insurance that pays 100% until we start talking about crowns and dentures- including extractions and periodontal services- I'm still paying $600. That's not as much as some of the other people have reported, but when you have 100% coverage, no deductible, that amount is pretty upsetting. I was offered their financing plan. NO thanks! Not when my insurance covers 100%! I asked for explanation and was told that the extraction was considered a surgical extraction, and that my insurance only covers 60% of the deep cleaning. I checked with my insurance agent and documentation and I call B.S. I have spoken with their finance gal again and she suggested that she call back the insurance company and re-evaluate. Yes, I suggest you do that. In the meantime, I will collect my x-rays (I asked if they belong to me) and will go somewhere else while she is checking. All I went in for was a standard cleaning and a tooth filling. :(

I went in needing to have both bottom molars attended to. Work that I knew would probably be expensive, but was prepared to pay. I was not however prepared to be told that they would need to do hygiene work before I was ever able to get the actual teeth worked on. But even so, I agreed that I would undergo planing and scaling before the crowns etc were attended to. The office assistant was not available during my visit, and I agreed that she could contact me later. I was happy enough to do that, and was looking forward to working with this office.

That was until I got the email with an estimate of the cost of what I had thought would be a relatively straightforward planing and scaling procedure.... I was absolutely shocked to see that even after insurance I would be paying over $1200, and that was expected to be done before she ever even worked on my teeth. She had set up some crazy plan that included about 12 uses of a very expensive antibiotic, causing the procedure to be extremely expensive. Keep in mind this was all for what they diagnosed as early to moderate periodontal disease.

When the finance lady called me, I told her that I had had no idea they would be charging that much, and I was not willing or able to pay that amount. So I asked her how much it would be just for planing and scaling and skipping that insanely expensive antibiotic treatment. She quoted me a price that had to have been a minimum of $800, before insurance. I informed her that considering the going rate for that procedure is usually between $200 and $400, that I believed their prices to be far too high. I am disappointed that they seem so willing to scrape every penny they are able out of their patients and the insurance company on procedures that are questionably needed before they will ever even start actual work on the teeth. I had looked forward to working with the wonderful ladies I had dealt with so far, but I am not willing to just be reamed on costs.

I finally had to have my insurance company call and talk to someone to get it resolved. Then I still got a bill telling me I owed them even after I confirmed that payment had been received by them.

When I called they informed me it was "glitch" in the system and my account was paid. I made an appointment at 12:20 pm for tooth pain (that needed to be pulled). They made me an appointment for 1:45 pm that same day. Very impressed so far. Arrive at the Shreveport, LA location and the doors were lock while they took lunch. They finally opened the doors and proceeded in the waiting room where I filled out paperwork. I sat there for about 30 minutes before they called me back. Once in the back area, they proceeded to take x-rays (keep in mind I came in for one tooth), they took a full x-ray then took twelve more individual x-rays (for one tooth that I was complaining about). They then took me back to the exam room, She took me blood pressure while I watch HGTV.

About 20 minutes later the dentist arrived. He looked at my x-rays then my teeth, he sat down and said all of my teeth have issues. So they talked to the ADMIN. Woman. They took me to a waiting room where I watched some more HGTV. She came and got me, I followed her to the consultation room. We sat down and she proceeded to tell me they would schedule me for full mouth extractions and dentures, remember I came in for one tooth that was giving me a problem.

These are a bunch of "QUACKS." Instead of fix the issue I originally came in for, They just wanted to pull everything and start over with fresh gums. I told her that I came in for a single tooth issue not a full mouth extraction. I told her I was not going to have anything done at "ASPEN DENTAL" and GOT UP AND WALKED OUT. I am thinking that they think people can't deal with pain. I have pulled many of my own teeth. I have have double bypass surgery, I can deal with a lot of pain. So I headed home and I am going to pull that tooth tonight and sleep in tomorrow. My recommendation is to find a quality local dentist not a national franchise quack dentist.

As a senior citizen when my tooth busted I called around for an extraction price. Aspen Dental advertised $262.00 and as I was already a patient, made the appointment. I was initially given a price, including x-rays & exam, totaling a little over $400.00. But when I sat w/ the office manager, the bill was $846.00. I was told the increase was a $401.00 spacer. I have dental insurance but my year anniversary was 2 months away; coverage then for the procedure would be 70% instead of 0% which I also discussed with the doctor. At that time, I told the manager and doctor I was not interested in a $401.00 apparatus as I would be getting the implant asap. She told me she understood and they had a ‘flipper' for a little over a hundred to which I agreed. NOTE: After the 1st day, I’ve never used. It makes me lisp when speaking. I paid $478.80 which on my account lists the spacer as $102.93.

I was in a car wreck and left some of the mail unopened as I knew they were filing w/ my insurance and assumed, as I had paid everything, I would receive the check. Imagine my surprise when Aspen billed me an additional $94.32 and turned me over to a collection agency. When I went in to discuss, Brandon, at the Memorial office, said they billed the $401.00 for the apparatus and originally they were referring to the insurance portion of the spacer being $100.00 and I just misunderstood. But this makes no sense as at the time I paid, they knew I had refused it because of the imminent implant. He stated Aspen projected what they thought the insurance would pay and came up w/ the $102.93; it wasn’t a different apparatus. I handled CMI Corporation’s insurance for years. It’s not my first rodeo and I know what I was told. I signed off on the $102.93 spacer; not their projection of what my insurance might pay.

Now it’s basically too bad and even though my insurance paid them an additional $272.88, it wasn’t enough. My experience was anything but ‘affordable’ and as a senior citizen on a fixed income, they should be ashamed of not only their business paradigm, but their commercials; they are very deceptive. A simple tooth extraction should not be almost $900.00, but they found a way around the $262.00 lure in codes and deceptive insurance jargon. I will never darken their door again. I can’t afford them.

Today I see where some friends of mine warned me about Aspen Dental; I went into them for tooth Pain last week, they extracted a tooth and gave me an antibiotic to get rid of the infection. The first thing they wanted to do last week was to sign me up for a care plan. $3,500; I said later, then they extracted a tooth and the pain subsided some.

Today the pain ramped up to another level and they got me in and again they wanted to charge me $550 to do a procedure, I wasn't able to pay that upfront today. They wanted payment before they even did the procedure; It has been my experience that most dentists ask for payment after treatment and are generally willing to work with people.

But Aspen seems to be more about charging and getting paid than helping. A problem with a lot of medical groups today, and a sign of what is most important to them. In the case of Aspen Dental, it seems making money is far more important than their patients. My only suggestion is to avoid the big business medical groups particularly Aspen Dental!

I visited the Aspen Dental in Johnston, RI. I had moved to the state and put off going to the dentist for about a year and a half to two years. I needed a check up and cleaning and wanted to address some recently onset TMJ pain and grinding my back teeth at night as well as check on the status of some cosmetic bonding I had domes several years back. First of all, the tech administering the x-rays looked at me like I was crazy when I reported the TMJ pain and symptoms. After x-rays and an exam, the doctor told me I had 3 cavities needing filling and that after looking at the bonding on two upper front teeth, said they required crowns and possibly root canals.

I asked again about the TMJ pain and she just brushed me off. This was very concerning to me as I’ve not had many issues with my teeth in the past and certainly had no in my front teeth to need a root canal. When I asked about this, the dentist was insistent that where the bonding ended was so close to my nerve that “if the nerve was exposed” when doing the crown, a root canal would be needed. Again, this didn’t sit right with me because the bonding was cosmetic, there was nothing wrong with these teeth before and no damage before the bonding. She never explained why the bonding could not be replaced or a veneer put in.

I was then rushed to the office manager's office for a quote, at which point they quoted me $3500 after insurance. At this point I began to panic and asked again why a root canal was needed, why any nerves would be exposed, why crowns were more appropriate than a veneer, etc. The dentist came back and repeated what she had said before. I was so stressed and uncomfortable that I just wanted to leave ASAP, and against my better judgment, allowed the manager to schedule an appointment.

After leaving I called my old family dentist (approx. two hours away) for a consult and second opinion. He got me in a few days later and validated my concerns about TMJ pain, fit me for a night guard, completed nerve testing on my front teeth and said that the nerves were fine, a root canal was most likely extremely unnecessary and aggressive. He also said that crowns were inappropriate and that the bonding was in decent shape for how old it was and could likely be repaired or, at most, replaced with a veneer.

And to top it all off, he still needed to wait to decide on the final treatment plan for the cosmetic work because Aspen Dental would not send my x-rays in time, and the dentist didn’t want me exposed again in such a short period (not to mention the cost). They told the dental office it would be a few hours to send the x-rays because it had to “go through the corporate office.” When I called to cancel the appointment that would have most definitely resulted in pain, money, and a bad cosmetic outcome, I inquired about the x-rays and the office told me it would take 7 to 10 days! Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. What they are doing borders on malpractice. I am lucky warning bells went off in my head, but hate to think of all the people who might not listen to them and move forward with any procedures at Aspen Dental.

In the middle of the extraction (which was horribly done), the dentist leaves to attend another patient, rather than finishing my procedure first! While the dentist was out of the room, the assistant spills something on the floor, wipes it up with paper towels and continued putting his hands in my mouth without ever changing gloves after wiping up the floor! A health violation for sure—I was appalled!

The temporary dentures were a joke and now that they have my money, the price has changed! According to them, the prior office manager, who is no longer employed there, had given me incorrect pricing, so now that’s my problem because they take no responsibility for their staff’s incompetence. No one seems to know what they are doing, but by the time you figure it all out, they’ve got your money and want a lot more of it. Average wait time in the waiting room for appointments is at least an hour for every visit so plan accordingly. Absolutely no concern about the patient’s comfort, proper hygiene during procedures, patient’s schedule, etc. What an absolute nightmare!

They were more than my insurance would pay so I took out a loan to pay the rest. I had always had smallish teeth and ask for that to be the end result. That is not what I received. My bottom dentures have never fit right. I kept letting them know they didn't fit right....from the very first. Several trips back in to have them adjusted. Each time I was told that bottom dentures don't ever really fit right. I was also told most people aren't able to wear their bottoms and I was probably going to be one of those. I was made to feel as though I was a pain in their day. Wish I had gone somewhere else.

I will need regular cleanings every 4 months because of my gums and bone loss. I would most definitely recommend Aspen Dental to my friends & family. The dental hygienists work on commission. They have hidden fees that they do not explain to the patient. The fees includes an electric toothbrush and fluoride treatment (which I did not request nor want). They claim they are participants with my dental insurance, but they are not. Their prices are too high. They bill my insurance. There are standard prices which my insurance covers per procedure. Aspen Dental prices always exceeds that amount. I had an exam in August. When I scheduled the exam, the receptionist stated if they had time they would do a cleaning afterwards. After the exam, I was informed that I wouldn’t be able to schedule a cleaning until October. I am very disappointed with Aspen Dental. I feel it is a franchise and they are out for profit only.

My lower denture would not stay in even with Fixodent, a substance to hold them in tight. Instead I would need to apply it several times a day. Then they want to send me to a surgeon for permanent denture for my lower gum. This would cost me additional money and they had me sign loan paperwork for $6900 for pulling my teeth and my upper and lower dentures. Right now I only have temporary dentures. I normally don't write reviews but I have to with this business to try & warn as many ppl as I can. This place only cares about what money they can scam from ppl who are vulnerable and usually in a lot of pain with their teeth! I had been yelled at, bullied by the Office Mngr! I was told by the 18-19 yr old assistant's that I was just going to have to deal with it when I kept going back because I was in serious pain from the temporary. During 1 of those visits I asked about my Impression they had made of my teeth and the young girl told me they had got broken. So that's why those things didn't fit my mouth and looked absolutely nothing like my teeth! I had suffered for 7 months with the temporary. When it came time to place the permanent upper the denture was so big that I had to take it out to even talk to that assistant. The lower partial was just as bad except it was too small and would not even start to fit over my teeth!

When that girl came at my mouth saying, "Here let me get it down on them", I had to lean back & literally push her hands away from my mouth telling her, "NO, you ain't going to break my teeth"! After that is the only time the Dr came in and still I got sent home on my 2 hour drive home, 1 way. Those things caused me so much pain where they were rubbing & hitting my gums & they did damage to my gums on top of all of that. I literally only wore the partials for about 20 mins total. I'm bouncing to the money side of things now. About 3wks before time to place the permanent upper denture the young man who had worked on my case from the beginning told me that I had to pay for my partial. I was shocked & told him that I did pay everything! He said they had taken off the amnt for the partial since they had never made me a temporary partial. I told him how mad I was because not 1 person ever told me that they did that!

But I found out that I did pay $519.00 towards the partial, how & why they came up with that amt I don't have a clue & he couldn't answer that either. So he sits me down & prints out this new contract for me to sign telling me I am due to have my few bottom teeth cleaned & have the roots injected with antibiotics. On this contract he's going over with me he has a Grand Total of over $2500.00 on top of the $10,000.00 that I paid. I was in such shock & so furious that I couldn't speak! So the day after that when I had to go in for another adjustment because of the pain I was in, I asked to speak to the other young man there in the office and showed him this contract that other guy had given me and told him that I was being ripped off by them! That guy had not even shown or subtracted the $519.00 credit I had paid them for the partial and how in the heck do they come up with all this extra money over the $10,000.00 that I've paid for all this crap!?

He acted a little surprised and said he would take this to the office Mngr the next day. Well I was surprised that they did fire that guy and I am happy about that just so he can't do that to another patient. He was scamming me for that $519.00 I paid to put in his pocket! They don't get you with the actual cost of the dentures themselves, they get you with all the extra charges they tack on that you don't need and some patients are in so much pain and nobody can think straight while in pain. Yes I am thankful that they at least have the 90day money back guarantee on the dentures. Because after those kids done their so-called adjustment's on my lower partial that the metal was actually sticking out of it I told them I wanted my money back. And when they never would fix the upper so I could eat & talk and stop being in pain because of it I told them I wanted my money back for that one too!

I felt sorry for the woman in the room next to me because she had the same exact problems with hers that I did. And the office she had originally went to had closed down. She told 1 of the same girls I dealt with the same thing I kept telling them when I would make that 2hr drive 1 way at least once & 2 times every week for literally a year...that they are too big and causing her severe mouth pain and when she goes out she has to wear so much glue to keep them from falling out of her mouth! That girl said she will go "adjust" them and the woman told her that she needs them filled in to make them fit! When they do their so-called adjustments they are actually making the denture bigger which causes more pain & embarrassment! I said these exact same things every time I went in that place! That poor woman's 90Days must of lapsed because of her office closing up shop.

I was not going to make that same mistake and was thankful I was there to get my money back. This is just how dirty those ppl are, they made me wait "5 Hours" before calling me back telling me I'd have to see the Dr, which was a lie, and made me wait for another 1 1/2 hours in the back room! The Dr never showed up in my room! The office Mngr came to my room asking my husband and I to follow her to her office. I told her that I can't and won't continue to wear those things because of the pain they cause me. It literally took less than 10 minutes and 2 papers I had to sign and I was done! They are a dirty and crooked business! I did have a bad feeling about this business after the reviews I read before I had that oral surgery but I'm not going to nor do I have to worry about that place anymore! All I can do is try my best to warn others about Aspen Dental and to not believe any of their scare tactics to scam you out of your money!

They absolutely do not know how to make dentures that fit and they do cause pain and damage your gums! After all that time, and $7000.00 after I got my money back from the dentures, the gas for the 4hr round trips once, sometimes 2 times every wk and going from a healthy weight of a size 12 down to size FOUR because of the pain I couldn't Eat!! I did tell them I was starving because I could not rat! And as I said I was a healthy size 12 for my height and did not want to loose weight! That I am so thankful I did find a dental office that has made my denture and these do fit and they are NOT causing me any pain! I was literally brought to tears when I left this new dentist office after they placed my new denture and I stopped to get my granddaughter a cheeseburger and I told her that, mamaw's going to get one to try and eat it and lo and behold I took a bite and the denture did not fall out and there was zero pain!

There is one serious problem I do have though. Where I had went so long not being able to eat that now my body is acting as if it's rejecting the food when I eat! Just after eating very small amount of food my stomach will hurt so much and I get so sick and so nauseous and break out into sweats and to the point of throwing up! My family asked me if I was going to write reviews to try to warn others about Aspen Dental. I answered, "Yes. Definitely!" I have worked in the medical field for many years and I have never seen patients treated so badly degraded, bullied, talked about, laughed at, ignored, stealing their money, talked down to as if they're stupid and downright abused!! I am not the only one who's been done this way by Aspen Dental. I have talked to others who also had been treated this way by them. Most of them did not go back and fall for their fake professionalism and their lies!

But as I said when someone is in a lot of pain they are not thinking too clearly. I won't feel as if I suffered for nothing if I can stop one person from making the same mistake I made. I tried to hit most of the horrible things that they had done to me and the horrible ways they they treated and said to me but I couldn't write everything because there's not enough space for me to write everything. But to all of this I swear that every single word is true and not exaggerated at all. I truly wish that I could write how this place done me from the first day I was in their office for treatment to the last day I was in their office which was last Tuesday August 6th, 2019.

Also on bill shows Irrigation which also was not done. Called next day to go over "Treatment Plan" said I did not understand and did not that the fluoride treatment was not done. Response was "You didn't pay for it". Doesn't matter. It was charged to insurance and they shouldn't have top pay if not done! Ok, they would adjust.

Called insurance a few days later to ask what was billed and the fluoride treatment was billed. Said, "It never happened." Said I could or they would reach out to office. Said, "I would do that." Also on my "bill" I was billed for irrigation that again was not done. "Ok we will adjust." I paid a total of $200.00. Still don't think it is correct and was not filled w/ insurance correctly.

I will be calling, again, for a face to face explanation of the charges, what insurance told me and an acceptable explanation. Part of the confusion was that a scaling, etc. was needed and that was also on the bill. But since it was all run on 2 pages and not broken down what was done and what I paid for. I would never recommend Aspen Dental to anyone. My experience was great up until my follow up appointment after my first consultation. I had asked them about replacing my metal crown with a porcelain one. When I had first met with my dentist, I stated that I wanted a porcelain crown. When I went for a dental exam a few weeks later, they told me I needed three more crowns. A couple appointments later, they had removed my old crown only to tell me I needed a root canal. They then recommended that I visit their orthodontist in Niskayuna. Where I then found out I didn’t need a root canal. I was then sent back to the first office, where they finally put a new crown on. However; it was the wrong crown. It was metal plated porcelain.

A couple weeks later I came back to their office, in extreme pain. They then prescribed me antibiotics instead of adjusting the crown. A month later I ended up in urgent care for the same issue. Only later on to change dentists, and find out that the nerve was dying and that’s why I was in such extreme pain. Soon after that I found out the tooth had become necrotic, so I ended up in another orthodontist's office where I had the root canal performed. I thank god that my new dentist Alina **, did such an amazing job fixing the problems Aspen Dental created.

A couple months later I kept calling Aspen Dental to get a refund for the cap they placed that had to be removed. They refused to give me any refund and so I refused to pay until we came to an agreement because they messed up my tooth. I was only disappointment and horrified by my experience. I have been attending Aspen Dental for a long time and had transferred locations to the Mayfield Heights location because it is closer to my residence. Upon my transfer, I had the misfortune of having several unprofessional dealings with the office manager, Sean/Shawn. I found the manner in which he spoke to me on the phone was unprofessional and something I would not expect from a professional establishment. I was so offended in the manner in which he spoke to me, I complained yet it fell on deaf ears. I have had other dealings with Sean/Shawn that was equally unsettling. First, I was charged a relatively large sum of money for routine dental work and when I informed Sean/Shawn that I had insurance, he made the clerk at the front charge me anyway.

I had to appeal to customer service who eventually refunded me my money. The most recent incident had to do with the fact that I scheduled an appointment for a teeth cleaning and then I received a message on my voice mail later that day cancelling my appointment, even though I made it clear that I was paying out of my own pocket for said services. When I called the next day, the clerk who answered the phone spoke in an unprofessional manner similar to Sean/Shawn and when I tried to address this matter with her, she hung up on me. I then called customer service to complain again, and the representative whom I spoke to said she would forward the matter to Dante, the regional manager, whom I told her was worthless.

By worthless, I am referring to several dealings with him that was less than professional. Although the manner in which he speaks is professional, he does not follow through as he promises. The only person whom I have had some positive experience was James. However, I find that he is hard to get in touch with because he travels from office to office. Needless to say, I find this business to be run in a substandard manner and despite frequent complaints no significant changes have been made to the way they run their business. I am hoping that other people who are considering doing business with Aspen read my review and weigh the options of whether they want to business with this establishment or take their business elsewhere.

If they choose the former, then all I have to say is that you have been warned. In sum, I am expecting that if this review gets posted, the response from Aspen Management will be to placate with verbiage such as, "I am sorry you had such a horrible experience. We promise to do better" or something similar. Unfortunately, this placating is trite particularly when they do not have any intention of changing their business practices but instead are trying to present a facade that they do care about their customers, when in fact they do not.

Aspen Dental advertises the price the quote is what you pay. I had a removable partial bridge and chipped a tooth. The dentist at Aspen Dental in Olean NY pulled the chipped tooth and the adjacent one for some reason. After 3 hours in the chair, I was fitted with a poor fitting uncomfortable partial denture and left with the worst pain and swelling I ever experienced from any dentist. No follow up from the dentist after the procedure. They did not offer to adjust the denture in the cost of the original price. I am expected to buy a new upper, which I will from some other dentist. To top it all of a month later I received a bill for an additional $220. Avoid Aspen Dental and go to a real dentist. It costs the same in the end and at least you will be able to chew your food.

I moved to a new state and needed a dentist for a general dental checkup and cleaning. Aspen Dental was listed in my insurance network and had a convenient location so I called for an appointment. I have always taken good care of my teeth and have had very few problems. My previous dentist told me I have a very healthy mouth. I was shocked when the Aspen hygienist told me I periodontal disease, including infection in my gums and bone loss. She said I needed as deep cleaning with follow up cleanings and every 3 months. The dentist then came in and said I had a fractured molar that needed a crown. I was upset and wondered how my healthy mouth could have gotten in such bad shape since my last checkup. I was so stressed I couldn't sleep that night, so I began researching periodontal disease on the internet. I had none of the usual symptoms, like red, painful or bleeding gums, bad breath, etc.

This made me suspicious so I began researching Aspen Dental and found many negative reviews about them. I decided to cancel my deep cleaning appointment and made an appointment with another dentist in my insurance network to get a second opinion, and I am so glad I did. It turns out my gums and teeth are perfectly healthy, no periodontal disease and no fractured molar. I am appalled that Aspen Dental lied to me and were going to do unnecessary procedures just to make money. I saved myself a lot of pain and money by getting that second opinion. Please stay away from Aspen Dental. They are unethical scam artists and thieves!

The worst dental I've ever met!!! I had a routine cleaning at this dental in Feb this year, and they strongly recommended that I get a night guard to prevent tooth grinding while I sleep, and they also mentioned it's covered by my insurance and I don't need to pay. So I agreed to get one (Why not? It's free). A few weeks later I came to the office to do a custom fit mold and a few weeks later I pick it up. However, later I got a bill from them which I owe them $610. I called them and they said the claim was denied by my insurance company and what they said was just an estimate, not the exact amount I need to pay for.

I called my insurance company later and they said night guard was not covered. I feel like it's a big ripoff, and there's no evidences (no recordings) to prove what they said. I called them again and they're willing to cut half of the amount after talked to regional manager, so I need to pay $350 for a custom fit night guard. I searched online and there's a lot of story like this so it's a common scam. You won't take more than 1/3 of the price to get a custom fit night guard online from Amazon. Be aware and stay away from this dental. My dental office is at Woburn, MA and I will switch immediately.

Mind you I have just driven 20min in 1 direction and now I have to back track and drive an hour the other way. When I arrived I encountered an x-ray tech that didn't care that she was causing me additional pain because she was embedding the x-ray pads into my gums.

Next I went to the exam chair where I was told I needed 6 teeth extracted and some extensive work. They then took me out to the financial manager who then informed me they do not accept my insurance but that I qualify for up to $2000.00 worth of financing and that it would be $992.00 to extract the 6 teeth. Now the kicker they say they cannot pull the tooth that is causing me discomfort today. A total waste of my time. Now the real kicker. I called the Aspen Dental 'emergency line' on a Sunday to schedule an emergency filling or extraction on filling that had fallen out and was painful. I was set up with a 7:00pm appointment the next day. When I got to the office, they seemed surprised that the call center would tell me that I would be able to get work done that day, but it was a "good thing I got there early" so they could help me. I was taken back about 20 minutes after I arrived, in pain, and given a ton of x-rays. The x-ray technician was nice enough. I was then brought back to wait for the dentist who introduced himself then immediately went to work calling out tooth numbers and what needed to happen to them. I was told I needed every molar extracted and would need partial dentures. I was then sent to meet with the office manager, who pushed me to apply for care credit and laid out a ridiculously expensive care plan that included a $200 tooth brush.

They would not do anything about the tooth that was causing pain that day. The dentist sent two prescriptions to the pharmacy, one for pain meds and one for an antibiotic that I am ALLERGIC to. My pharmacy reached out to them to get something else prescribed and they never responded. I found a reputable dentist who confirmed that I did not need nearly the amount of work done that they stated and helped me with the original issue I went to Aspen for. The whole experience was awful from start to finish. It's much like trying to buy a used car and deal with the finance manager. Stay FAR away from this place.

Doctor proposed removal 24 teeth!!!! And make denture temporary and then permanent. After removing the teeth, I was made a temporary incorrect. It was replaced with a new one. I came every week to correct. In March, there was an appointment for the impression for a permanent denture. In March-April I lived in Tampa. They was offered a Tampa office. 3680 W Gandy Blvd, Tampa, FL 33611. April 1, 2019 in Tampa office, gave me a denture, was impossible to wear. I immediately said this. They was given to me sign the documents. There I noted that the denture was an incorrect, it's terrible looking faсe, it's pain and it's too big. They promised fix it. I come back next day. They tried to fixed but nothing change.

Everything hurts and my mouth does not close and my face looks terrible. I have been assigned more an appointment and it's all the same. As A RESULT, I COULD NOT USE THIS DENTURE FORE A SINGLE DAY. Couple days later in April, I had a plan to go on vacation to Washington DC. I was told that I could go to the Aspen Dental office in Washington DC and they would fix everything. I did not find an Aspen Dental office in Washington DC. April 23 then we returned home to New Port Richey and I made an appointment to go to the office MCD Dentistry PA 9219 US 19 Port Richey, FL 34668 with the same complaints of pain and facial defect. THEY PROMISED FIX BUT COULD NOT FIXED. I WAS ASSIGNED NEW AND NEW APPOINTMENT. Almost 1 time per week.

They promised to fix the denture but could not fix either the appearance of the face and remove the pain. I was assigned new appointments and each time I left hiding my new permanent dentures in the box. And each time they promised fix my problem. Today 6/14/2019 at the appointment they was told that nothing can be changed. Defect face requires a new denture. BUT the time of 90 days has passed. And they will not replace! The pain cannot be removed because you need ALVEOLOPLASTY. Why have I been informed about ALVEOLOPLASTY before? When the doctor saw my bone in April, he did not see it? I was deceived?

The doctor knew that the defect of the face can only be corrected with new dentures and the pain IS POSSIBLE TO BE FIXED ONLY with surgery! Each of my visits I was assigned a new appointment, knowing that it is impossible to correct! Each time I've been given promised they deceived me. The doctor knew that the defect of the face can only be corrected with new dentures and the pain with surgery! Why no one said about it before 3-4 months? Or my bone changed suddenly? Play for time it's that they did! I insist on fixing my denture.

I insist to get an explanation for what reason the doctor did not inform me about surgery when seen problem. I ask you to check the qualifications of the doctors involved in my treatment. Do not believe what they say!!!! They are deceiving and play for time. They promised to correct mistakes. 6 months. Every time they are make a new appointments until the guarantee has been expired. When you get there you’re likely to wait well past your appointment time. Then you’ll be told your cleaning will be done at a separate appointment. Instead you will get a sales pitch, but it will sound like a necessary course of action for a dire situation. Be prepared for a pushy “office manager” to try to convince you to buy a $100+ toothbrush no one needs. The prices for “necessary” services will be quadruple what you’d pay at a reputable dentist office. Gingivitis can be reversed with a good cleaning followed by proper daily brushing and flossing! These people didn’t even offer me a ** because apparently the dentist can feel your pain for you and I was told since the tooth was loose there shouldn’t be pain. So later the pain increased to which I called them and Katrina at the office said she would return our call but apparently they closed the office instead.

So we called and got the emergency number three separate times to which we finally got a call back from the answering service cause the dr couldn’t bother to do so. I scheduled an appointment with Aspen as my DMO has a very limited number of choices in my area. It had been a couple years since my last exam so was expecting a little extra work. I had a full set of x-rays and photos done by a dental technician. I then was led to another room where the dental hygienist came in and did her work up poking and prodding the teeth and gums, calling out numbers like a bingo game as the technician entered them into the computer. Then was told that I had early stages of periodontal disease and would need a deep cleaning and scaling along with various gum treatments to be done in stages.

Finally the dentist arrives and reviews the x-rays and photos telling me i need the full works along with a tiny cavity and a chip in a tooth that should be addressed. Once again escorted from the exam room to the lion's den (finance office). Now comes the damage, treatment for all this comes to a grand total of $5200 but after insurance, cost to me about $3000 out of pocket. Well by the shocked look on my face, the finance person comes back with "Wait, I can apply this coupon to save you about $400." Once again I just stared at him and replied "I don't think so." Again he says "well I can do you a favor and give you a friends and family discount which brings it down to just under $2000." I told him not in my budget at this time and then came the offering of financing to an "affordable" monthly payment plan. At that point I got up and left.

I thought about it after an hour or so and called them back. I asked if I could just get a normal cleaning and polishing of my teeth that my insurance covered and they said unfortunately not and the only way they would proceed was with their prescribed treatment plan. I told them not going to happen and called them a scam. I was told if I wanted my x-rays that I would have to sign a release form. I am going back tomorrow to do just that so see if they release them. My advice, STEER CLEAR of Aspen

Aspen Dental never explained the financial payment plan, nor did they give the name of the FS loan company they use. They put 2 loans on 1 stmt. and said I can only pay 1 at a time. 2nd loan is collecting interest every month. It’s now more than when I started. I called and asked if I can pay on both loans each month. They said no. I am paying 105. And 83.25 is going to interest. They said I had two visits that is why two separate loans. So I asked again I would like to pay on both loans every month. They said no. You have to pay one at a time, while the second loan is just racking on interest each month. For a 2200. Visit I have to pay 9000.00 because they won’t let pay on both visits. Should be something we can do to stop this. I am elderly and on a fixed income. Not very often does a customer want to pay more to avoid the interest charge and they are not letting me do so.

I was having a bad toothache because a tooth had broke off and I was in severe pain. I went in. They did the x-rays and I seen the dentist (as he rushed in and back out). He knew why I was there and did his examination and asked me why I wanted to do. I said that I would do dentures up top and a retainer on bottom. He done nothing to pull the tooth that was broken off as I expected him to do. That's the reason I was there. Then I was whisked off to the financial office to figure out the financial part of getting this procedure done which I was looking at about $9,000 because I had no insurance.

The lady that went over the financial part of getting this procedure done was a very nice and polite and professional lady And offered me several discounts which brought my bill down to about $7,000. After that I was shown the front door. I was in so much pain and felt disgusted by this experience. That was on the 17th of April 2019. And as of today I'm still dealing with tooth pain. Because of my experience with Aspen Dental and the dentist that I saw that day I will not be back nor will I ever recommend this place to someone that I needs to get a tooth pulled. I have since then received nine different emails from Aspen Dental to do a review of my visit. So here it is.

I was due for a dental cleaning and new to the area. I made an appointment for a consultation. They told me that I had advanced stages of periodontal disease. They also said that I have a cracked tooth and will need a root canal and a crown for one of my molars. They had me wait to meet with someone in the finance department. I started to feel like I was at a car dealership. I was told that that I needed a deep cleaning that would be $900. I also would need a root canal along with a crown on my cracked tooth. I was just about in tears that I don't even remember what the money figures were for the other services. I went home and started looking online the symptoms for periodontal disease. There was no way that I could have this disease. My teeth don't even bleed when I floss.

So I called Aspen and cancelled my $900 cleaning and had them refund my $600 deposit for the cleaning. I explained that I was getting a second opinion. No questions were asked, the appointment was cancelled and my refund was received in a timely manner. So today, I get back from my second opinion today. I was told that my gums were very healthy and that the "cracked" molar is simply a stain. Since going to Aspen and looking at online reviews, I noticed that the majority of the bad reviews were extremely similar to my experience. This corporate dental practice is a scam! I feel bad for all of the patients that are in debt due to not getting a second opinion!

At 0803, people came up to the desk from the back offices. There were 4 people at this time waiting for appointments. Not one person behind the desk acknowledged any of us! At 0820, I'm the only one left in the waiting room, now 30 minutes in. I'm only there to have one tooth looked at... No work was to be done. Just look at it. So I go up to reception desk and ask when I will be seen.

I'm immediately called back, and trays were taken. I'm then put in a room, and wait some more. Others that were taken back before me are sitting in chairs in private rooms... waiting! At 0845, I left! My time is just as important as theirs. I have a 0900 appt elsewhere. My 5-minute tooth check never got looked at. This is the 3rd time, always late on appointments, never an explanation. Nobody even bothered to call to see if there is anything they could do, or even check up on me. Never going back.

Too bad I can't choose no stars for my rating. Unfortunately, due to loss of my job I had to sign on with a cheap dental insurance company who would only pay for me to go to Aspen Dental. Not sure if they are aware of what a rip off Aspen is. No privacy when receiving your "consultation". I was able to hear the conversations on the other sides of the walls in other consultation rooms. Pretty interesting that every client needed a deep cleaning - which of course is a MUCH higher price than a regular cleaning. I went in for a regular cleaning and to file a small chip in my tooth. Had no choice - if I wanted a cleaning it had to be a deep cleaning.

If I did everything they proposed it would have cost $3000.00 for a deep cleaning and to have a small chip in my tooth filed. $140.00 of this was for an electric toothbrush "specially made for Aspen Dental". In the end for the 2 things I went in for I still had to pay $1000.00 out of pocket. I'm surprised the dentist didn't intentionally cause my tooth to break when she filed it so she could suck me for a crown too. They advertise the exam and X-rays are free, but the charges appeared on my explanation of benefits from the insurance company. It would have been cheaper for me to go back to my own dentist and pay cash for the services that I needed at that time. When I see the commercial on TV with the Veteran who is thankful to have Aspen, I want to scream to him "Don't go there." This company is only out to make as much money as possible and rip off insurance companies and customers.

There is a class action lawsuit forming for Malpractice & Consumer Fraud (Google 'Aspen Dental class action Lawsuit'). Aspen completely fabricated issues that don't even exist. No excuse for this - they lied intentionally. Wife went in because she had some tooth pain. Hygienist had her in tears as the told her she was going to lose ALL her teeth eventually, and needed 7 removed immediately. Also told her she had 4 cavities, when she has 1. They told her that her entire mouth was infected and that is why she is in so much pain. Prescribed nothing but antibiotics. I honestly can't count how many lies they told, but it has to be around 10-15 straight up lies! How do these people sleep at night?

I will say, the employees at the front desk were very friendly and professional as the reviews state, but that is because they are trying to sell you dental work you never needed in the first place. The reason this feels so much different than every dentist you have gone to is because it is; they are 'selling' you, not helping you.

After a long sit with the Office Manager, we were handed a quote for close to $15,000 AFTER Insurance. We both nearly fainted. We went in for a simple tooth extraction, and we leave with a quote I could buy a brand new car with. They ran her credit to see how much she qualifies for - We were assured several times it wasn't a hard pull, and won't affect credit rating - YES, IT IS A HARD PULL! Office Manager said he was new and had only been there a short time, but if you don't know the answer to something, don't pretend you do. This was the first red flag, along with them attempting to charge us in advance for the following visit, that made us consider a second opinion. They also said they had to 'talk to Corporate' before releasing her dental records - What???

Well, we got our 2nd opinion, and it turns out she doesn't need a large majority of the work quoted. The things she does need were half the price as Aspen. Aspen recommended a root canal and crown for a tooth that doesn't need it, yet failed to mention a tooth that does need both of those things because they wanted to just pull it. It was a front upper tooth they wanted to remove. They are WAY overcharging customers.

So, the quote from the Reputable Dental Office my wife has used for many years was 1/10 of the price Aspen quoted. It is such a dramatic difference, there is no way this was accidental. They 100% were trying to not only take advantage of us, but commit fraud by fabricating issues that didn't exist. Get a second opinion, whatever you do. My wife would have no teeth right now had we not - she doesn't need a single extraction. No exposed roots, no extractions, and 1/4 the cavities they claimed she had. Absolutely ridiculous.

I made an appointment for a broken tooth and loss of a filling in one tooth April 16, 2019 for 8:00 am and was told to arrive 15 early to fill out paperwork. I signed in and handed over my insurance cards to the receptionist. Filled out the paperwork but I still sat waiting to be called. Noticed that other people who came in after me were being called back but it was 1 1/2 hours before I was finally called back. They immediately started taking xrays upon xrays. I have never had so many xrays taken for dental work! (When I finally left the office I begin getting this weird sort of headache and dizziness that I have never had before and am still having almost 2 wks later.)

After the xrays, I was taken to a room for the hygienist to exam my teeth. She poked around and gave numbers to the assistant. Then she tells me that I have gum disease, gingivitis and moderate bone loss in my gums and that she would have to do this deep cleaning and root planing before any work can be done. I don't have any problems with my gums and I have never had any dentist tell me that I had gum disease or gingivitis. She leaves the room and comes back with the dentist who doesn't even look at the xrays but tells me that I would have to have the deep cleaning and that I would have to have 3 teeth removed so that a partial could be placed on my lower back area of my mouth. Wasn't expecting that at all! The dentist then said that someone would go over the costs with me.

I was escorted to a room to wait for another half hour and then finally I was seen by an assistant Office Mgr who goes over a treatment plan and costs with me. The total plan, at that time, was $3,826 with my portion being almost $2,000 out of pocket and immediately shoves some advertising brochure at me to apply for "dental credit plan." I told her that I did not want to apply for any credit. She then asks if I could pay $200 down and then I would have to pay the balance before my next appointment in 2 wks.

I had lots of questions about the plan and the costs but was told that I needed to have everything done including a temporary partial which costs more than the permanent partial. She also said they had to take impressions on that date so that when I had the work done, they would put the temporary partial in right away. Now, I am no dentist but since there would be swelling due to removing teeth, how would that temporary even fit right.

After I got home I started reviewing the treatment plan and called and emailed this assistant office manager telling her what I wanted removed to bring the costs down for me to pay. I waited over a week before she finally got back to me! I also asked her if they had contacted my insurance as they would have to file a treatment plan with them so that they could let them know what would be covered and what I would have to pay. For some reason, they never contacted my insurance co saying that they were hard to reach so instead they were applying some sort "coupon discounts" which they never did explain to me. One of the major items that I did not want was the temporary partial.

After several emails and phone calls, I get a new treatment plan, with both dentures removed but I would still end up paying out of pocket $1300. When I told her that I would still want the permanent partial, I get another treatment plan with the cost of that partial increased by 56%!! Now all "coupon discounts" are removed and they have applied an "estimated insurance benefit" even though they still haven't filed a plan with my insurance co. My out of pocket is now higher due to the increased cost of the denture. It is at that point that I cancelled any further appointments with them and requested the refund of my down payment. I was told because of "company policy" it would take several weeks for me to get my refund!

My overall impression of Aspen Dental is that they want to make as much money as they can by telling you that you need more items than are actually necessary. Also, they are very reluctant to file insurance. Customer service is only good if you agree with everything that they recommend and tell you. Once you disagree, customer service is out the window! I would not recommend anyone going to Aspen Dental for any type of service.

The tech took a panoramic xray then moved me to another room where she took about 15 to 20 more days. She then moved me to an exam room, where I waited for the hygienist who told me I need to use an electric toothbrush, special high fluoride toothpaste and high fluoride mouth rinse after poking at each of my teeth and saying numbers of 1-5. She told me, “You don't want to hear any 5s because that is bad.” Well I didn't hear any 5s only 2, 3,and 4s.

She also said I need to have a deep cleaning and a root planing before any work can be done. She then left the room and after about 10 minutes the dentist came in. He put the x-ray up on a TV screen and said, “Yes you have moderate bone loss, gum disease and gingivitis. You really need to use an electric toothbrush, high fluoride toothpaste and high fluoride mouth rinse.” He can fix my teeth by doing 2 root canals and crowns but the deep cleaning and root planing need to be done first. He said, “The girls will go over the cost of all this with you.”

When the tech came back in she escorted me to a girl at the desk who showed me 4 or 5 sheets which all totaled up costs were over $17,000.00. I almost fell out of my chair. I told the girl at the desk, "That is more than I paid for my car. I just want my front teeth fixed before we start doing anything else." She told me she would have to check and see if that could be done. I told her, "It can and will be. It's my money and my teeth. After giving her my forms, about 10 minutes later she calls me up to the desk and points out that I have not completed the part that gives them permission to request my pharmacy records. It is marked as optional on the form I completed. I looked again at the form, and I said, "I don't think it's necessary." Then she says, "Well it is if you want treatment here." I then said (I had a pen in my hand) "Then why does your form say it's optional?" And I circled the word optional beside where she insisted I sign. Oh boy, did I piss her off. Not good... I need these people to take care of me.

I was called back shortly after, and I won't detail it all, because my experience was identical to every other experience chronicled here: x-rays (so many x-rays!), hygienist comes in, pokes all over my mouth calling out numbers (which was odd, because they were short-staffed that day and no one was logging the numbers. I wondered... was she being voice recorded? I truly think it was all for show... NO ONE WAS WRITING THESE NUMBERS DOWN!). She tells me I need a deep cleaning over several visits then tries to sell me the toothbrush.

Next, the dentist comes in. She does a brief exam and proceeds to tell me that I need to have ALL of my teeth extracted and go to a full denture. At this point, I am in total shock. She asks me to agree to the treatment, but I told her I first needed to see a detailed treatment plan. She escorts me to a FREEZING waiting room where I sit for at least 49 minutes until my new best friend, the "office manager"/high-pressure sales rep I'd already pissed off comes to get me to discuss costs/financing. The cost before insurance and "discounts" was almost $15,000, but I could get all of this wonderful treatment for just under $10,000, did I want to schedule for full extraction in just two weeks and sign the dotted line on the finance form? I left the office numb and in shock. Then I Googled Aspen Reviews. I feel like I haven't only dodged a bullet... I escaped the firing squad. STAY AWAY FROM ASPEN DENTAL.

    Reviewed April 8, 2019

I Had a tooth extracted in August 2018, paid in full for the services rendered at time of service. Bill was paid. In December 2018 received a bill from Aspen Dental requesting 199.00 dollars for the tooth extraction. I reviewed my bank records to ensure the bill was paid. I contacted the Aspen Dental Office and explained that I paid for the procedure at the time of the extraction. I was told the issue would be taken care of. Now, March of 2019, I have a collection agency calling requesting payment. Explained to them that this bill was paid at time of procedure. Collection agency didn't care and wants payment stating that I have to get Aspen Dental to remove the bill. This is absurd!!!
