I was looking online for a place to get a new set of lower dentures and came across Aspen Dental as for 299.00 one arch. New and existing patients. Usually when I’ve went elsewhere they have a price list in the waiting room. I asked for one and secretary said they’ll discuss after I see doctor. So I sit in exam room 2 hours to only find out they wanted 1,200 for the no frills set. Thank goodness I had my service dog because I was so pissed off. Went across the way to Affordable Dentures and got a beautiful no frills set for 375.00. Never step foot in Aspen.

I have had 2 bad experiences with this office. The receptionist was very rude. Never said good morning and then after I signed in she said, "That will be 230 dollars." I replied, "For a cleaning." She said insurance was not covering it. I knew my insurance would cover 100 percent every 6 months. Then she looked again and said I had to wait 1 more day. I said your office is the one who scheduled my appointment after I left last time. She said they didn’t have insurance guidelines when scheduled. Seriously. That’s ridiculous, but she was quick to want to charge me without researching. I had to ask. Very unprofessional. Needless to say I will not go back or recommend the Dickson office to anyone.

The worst dental billing experience I have had in my 57 years. They over charged me for service outside the plan I had by a $1000. After I made a few payments, I still owed over a $1000. The Owings Mills office manager did not response to several office calls. I will never go back to Aspen Dental.

Aspen Dental is nothing more than a place to take your money. I went twice and still didn't get my teeth cleaned. They said I might have three cavities. I am 52 years old and have never had a single cavity. They wanted to give me some oral antibiotics and shoot antibiotics into my gums. I went from a $60 cleaning to over $2K. Needless to say, I switched dentists, and the new dentist did not find any of the issues that Aspen said I had. Aspen also refused to send my x-rays to the new dentist. I would give them zero stars if that was an option.

When I called to question it they tried to blame the insurance company, but then admitted that they (Aspen) were behind on their billing. I asked why I had to pay when initially told I didn’t owe anything and they said I was only given an estimate and the bill ended up being more. I wish I was told I was just given an estimate from the beginning! I feel lied to! Will not be back.

These dentist office managers get bonuses on selling the most expensive products and selling their financial credit cards backed by big companies like GE dental care in this country is ridiculous. They can start charging interest up to 29% before you even leave their office. The poor can’t get a job if they have bad teeth. Nobody is regulating them. Do not go here. They will take advantage of the vulnerable putting money in the pocket of investors who only care about the money not you. You cannot trust these companies that they are doing the right things. If they have integrity the bigger they are the more money they need to make to keep it going. They do not care about you and dentist you support. This need to be called out.

I had to call corporate 3 times and the office manager hasn't called me back yet. I just called the office again for the office manager and the hygienist Nicole. Alexis put me on hold for 10 mins. Never came back to the phone. Somehow the phone call was disconnected. Someone called me back and said she was the "assistant manager". The point is no one cares about the customer... Care for the customers always starts at the front desk & ends with the manager... and everyone in-between. Please don't waste your time at the Crestwood Clinic.

I visited the Sandusky location to have a tooth extracted that had been causing me pain due to a long-standing hole. After receiving x-rays, the dentist informed me that my tooth was infected and prescribed antibiotics. I was then directed to wait for the finance manager, Andrew, for payment details. The cost was quoted at $290, which I attempted to finance, however, their application process was unsuccessful (apparently, $290 was deemed too low). I was not provided with any further information until my next visit.

During my final visit, the finance manager was overheard speaking disparagingly about two patients who wore dentures, even going as far as to use offensive language against one of them. Despite this unprofessional behavior, I still paid the $290 on that day in hopes that they would provide better assistance due to the severe pain I was experiencing. Unfortunately, I never received the prescribed antibiotics.

On June 17th, I called to request a refund and cancel my appointment. The receptionist assured me that I would receive a refund to my card. However, two days later, I received a call from the finance manager asking to confirm my appointment, indicating that my request had not been processed. I reiterated my desire to cancel the appointment and receive a refund. After 10 days of waiting for the refund, with no action taken by the dental office, I contacted my bank to resolve the issue and retrieve my funds, as it became evident that the employees at this location lacked professionalism and efficiency.

I got the Motto Clear Aligners and they were supposed to order me a new retainer because mine broke. That was over 6 weeks ago now and when I did chat with someone, they gave me a song and dance routine about their phone system being screwy, then it was the lady who orders it was out, etc. Try to contact their headquarters doesn't work either. You are diverted back to the local office. Better to find a local independent dentist than to work with them.

At the time I was waiting for my insurance and paid out pocket but was assured they would still be able to submit the claim to my insurance. This service was 1/26 it’s now 6/24 and the claim hasn’t even been processed by my insurance. The dental office did not submit the claim the first time, so in March I had to call them because my insurance claimed they never received the claim. When they finally put the claim through my insurance informed me they had sent Aspen Dental a letter letting them know that the providers information did not match and they needed to update it in their records but have not heard back.

So I called aspen dental to ask if they can update the information on the provider records so that they can process the claim, front desk lady told me claim had already been processed and that they actually got paid for the service so they will reimburse me to my original form of payment Sounds like everything is done?! 6/5 I called back because I got a refund for $115 from aspen dental.

Well it started off good then my last payment was made and was sent home with a set of dentures that was way too large for my mouth. I was told by the dentist that I should take them home and wear them and come back and let him know where the problem was. I said even though they're way too big for my mouth he said yes. I go home. I try wearing the teeth. Of course they are way too big for my mouth. This is the third set of teeth I've had so I should know. I tried showing them a set of teeth that I had that work perfect except for I broke the bottom plate. They looked at them and did nothing to make the new ones even close to those so I called to make an appointment and the girl said she would have to talk to the dentist first and then call me back and I waited for a week nobody called back. I assumed they were busy so I called back my second time. Left another message.

The girl said she'd have to talk to the dentist and see what they're going to do about my teeth and I called back a third time and I left a message twice in one day for them to call me. I never heard back so I waited a couple of weeks and then I called another store not far from me and I guess those two connecting nobody wanted to do my teeth. I go back to the one I went to in Marble Falls Texas. They ground grinded on the teeth for about an hour and a half, came back and told me they could not grind anymore so instead of making a new set and using a smaller form they did refund my money at no problem which I am happy about but I went there for a set of teeth and I felt like they were just trying to screw me over by not contacting me back, making me call another store and complaining to that manager so that she called the that other store and told them I wasn't happy.

Anyway I did get my money back. That's one thing that they do have is a guarantee but they are slightly Rude. The girl that tried to grind my teeth down. I don't know her name. She was really nice but the front desk are kind of slightly on a rude scale. Anyway I would find another place to go besides Aspen Dental and spend my money.

I went to Aspen Dental because I hadn’t been to the dentist in a year and I had moved to a new area. I had no cavities before, like none. They inspected my teeth and determined I had deep “pocket” problems that would require a deep cleaning and other extensive dental work to the tune of $2,800. I said I’ll have to think about it and their tone turned very threatening about how I was going to lose all my teeth by waiting. Please note that I only went in for a cleaning. I had no pain in my mouth and no troubles. I found a local dentist and went to see him and was told that my gums looked great. I had no cavities, and I certainly didn’t need a deep cleaning. All my “pockets” were fine. This place is a total scam.

The dental assistant offered for me to get put to sleep to have them pulled, which I agreed (only because it’s a different dr and after the way, Dr ** walked away from me I don’t want to see her again.) Now my appointment is today and they never called me to reschedule, I called them to confirm my so and they said, "Oh we will have to reschedule, the doctor won’t be here." Keep in mind this doctor is only in office once a month! Paid half then the other half before my crown was to be installed on my crown install appointment they had tacked on an extra charge, I asked for what and received 3 different answers. Also, one service was to be charged to new insurance and still had old insurance listed with pending for insurance payment. I asked, "Why does this state my old insurance, not the new?" The answer was it's the same company. I knew I was talking to an incompetent person.

I left and they held my crown hostage for a $187 bill. Who pays for something that no one can explain. Two weeks later I get a call that I owe over $1300, reported them to the BBB again, they told the BBB that the issue had been resolved.

Two weeks later I get a text to pay my bill, I called again and was told this is a true bill, why did they refund me to turn around and bill me more than the refund? So I reopened the inquiry to the BBB and called my insurance company and went over everything with them. We came to the conclusion that I owed $160, the rep from my insurance company put me on hold and called Aspen, it ended up having to be a three way call. The whole time the guy kept trying to tell us this was a true bill, put us on hold, came back and said he would have to send it to an insurance specialist and I would need to call back in a couple weeks. Unfortunately, after just over three years of use, my bottom denture broke into two pieces. Upon contacting the office where I obtained the denture, I was informed that the implants did not come with a warranty or money-back guarantee beyond 90 days, leaving me with limited options for repair or replacement.

Interestingly, the Aspen Dental website explicitly states that their implant denture is covered by a 7-year limited warranty and a Denture Money-back Guarantee. Had I been made aware of the lack of repair assistance after 90 days during the financing and purchasing process, I would have reconsidered my decision to engage in business with this establishment. If Aspen recommends full extractions, upper and lower, run, don't walk, to a legitimate dentist who does not make a profit from extracting all your teeth then providing you with full dentures. Specifically I am referring to the lowers, which were only problematic in the center front for me, not the entire lower plate. These lower dentures are extraordinarily difficult to chew with, and were not necessary. One entire side for me was previously a permanent bridge which was very expensive and unnecessarily removed.

In addition, the financing was also a problem for me. After consideration for my two insurances, I still owed $6800 which they said I could finance, interest free, for 18 months. The minimum monthly amount due was like $120, which in no way would end up paying $6500 so this seems unethical. In addition, after one of my visits they said, "just sign this" and I did, not knowing what I was signing for. It turned out they added another $550 to my bill, which the financing company would not remove because they had my signature on it. Therefore, you should ask and make sure what you are signing on those little blank signature blocks. They cover themselves by saying in the fine print "if there's anything we missed, you still will be charged for it." Thanks a lot.

While I do not dispute that I needed significant work, I don't think I needed $10,000 worth of work, which is what was charged to me considering my insurance. Also I am not pleased with my smile at all, because it looks completely fake and screams "dentures" to all who can see. In trying to get my dentures adjusted it took me two weeks to get an appointment, for a simple adjustment, during which time I was not able to use my new dentures at all. But I note they do take walk-ins. How is this fair? Use them only for a second opinion only after you have seen a real dentist. I wish I could rate lower than a 1.

Aspen Dental Review - 15 May 2024 - The Dentist (Dr **) was very nice and helpful. The Operations Manager (Peter) was very rude. In his explanation of why I need to prepay for cleaning he said he previously owned a couple of businesses and it is how he does business, if I didn’t like it that I could go somewhere else. I had my card out ready to prepay until he said this. I don’t prepay for a meal when I order. I do understand prepaying for crowns or work that requires a prep visit (or pay at the time of the prep work).

I called back and tried to schedule the cleaning and would even prepay as long as I never had to deal with Peter again but was told I needed to return to the office to schedule and prepay $40 (very inconvenient). I would like Dr ** to do the work but will never return to an office to prepay for work which requires me to go back a different day for the work. The only dental office I’ve seen that requires prepayment for cleaning. Good luck with your terrible business practice and rude manager.

16 May 2024 - Yesterday there were 2 appointments available for today. I called back yesterday to schedule one of the appointments for today but was told I needed to return to the office to pay because they don’t accept payment over the phone. I didn’t return to schedule or pay. Today, I did return to pay and was told that an appointment wouldn’t be available until 24 July 2024. I believe I’m being screwed with because I didn’t originally want to pay upfront. Extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Problem is that insurance will end up paying for the annual exam and will have to find another office that accepts and can obtain the results from Aspen. Totally unsatisfactory!

They have unethical billing practices, they overcharge and talk you into financing the amount that the insurance company won't pay. They say that the price of the work that is being done isn't covered completely under the insurance and you will need to pay the balance. When I didn't have all the work done they were supposed to let American First Financial know to remove the cost, they never did. They accepted the insurance payment and the balance I was left with according to the explanation of benefits was much less than I was told I needed to finance. I can't get them to refund the money to the finance company and when I called to complain to the finance company I was told they couldn't help me until Aspen refunded them and they refused to do anything else. They are still charging me monthly for money I don't owe.

During my first visit I was told I needed to have 4 teeth removed and had an abscess that was very large. They were suppose to remove the teeth and they gave me a sedative to be used the day of the extraction that didn't work. They scheduled an appointment for a month later to remove the teeth under general anesthesia, I had to wait an entire month, in pain and with an infection. When they removed the teeth they broke a tooth next to it, they never told me or my husband. The following Monday I called to ask what they were going to do about the broken tooth and I am still waiting to hear back, that was 2 weeks ago.

They don't call you to check how you are after the procedure, they do not even do a follow up appointment, but over billing and over charging seems to be something they are able to do very well. I have submitted a formal complaint to my insurance company and will use every means available to me to get this situation take care of. They have been overpaid for services that were done extremely poorly.

Besides the dental work so far that’s not bad and they actually do great work but not the front desk service. I am a person that likes to be prepared and organized which means I don’t like random changes or unexpected news, for example I was informed I had to pay 162$ for a root canal and now I am told 271$? Why because I just received a call one day before that I am doing crown prep with the root canal. Did I agree to do this all in one day? No. I agreed to do 1 filling and root canal and the crown prep another day. They should be aware of what they are doing.. Should a customer feel rushed? Should a customer that’s paying be commanded to do this or should they be given an option, I think so too. p

People might say just sort it out but that the thing I am put in an uncomfortable posture where I have to confront them and tell them this but I already knew what I had to do prior! Just makes me want to cancel all of this but then again I want my teeth well. It matters to ME AND IT SHOULD MATTER TO THEM. I’m paying for the service.

When that tooth was pulled it was ripped all the way up my gum line. Very painful. That should have been my first clue of the kind of service I would receive. After the tooth was removed I needed a new upper partial made. I was going on vacation and was promised I would be very happy with the new partial before I left on my trip. What I received was a partial that was falling out of my mouth. I expressed my concerns. I was unheard and treated disrespectfully. Because it was a temporary partial they expected me to accept the substandard product. I was very unhappy with the way I was treated and I was not accepting their substandard work. They refused to make new partial and offered me a full refund within 2-5 business days, which I accepted.

I had to go on my vacation without an upper partial. I couldn't even smile in any photos. This was the worst part and cause extreme stress. Well surprise surprise I was not refunded full payment from Aspen Dental. When I returned from my vacation 4 weeks later, I called Aspen dental to see why I was not refunded. Then I received a bill from Aspen Dental for an outrageous amount. I will dispute these charges as well. What a bad experience. When I went to this facility it was a ghost town. I was confused why I didn't see any other cars in the parking lot or others getting cleanings. They told me they would first have to do a comprehensive exam and during that exam they informed me that I have periodontal disease. They informed me that I needed extensive treatment right away and pushed opening a credit card to cover the costly treatment. When I informed them I still wanted my routine cleaning they told me I wouldn't qualify since I wouldn't qualify for preventive cleanings. They went as far to tell me that if I did not get this treatment, my teeth would eventually fall out!!

I was shocked to find out that I had gum disease and went to 2 other recommended dentist in the area, both which informed me I DID NOT HAVE PERIODONTAL DISEASE. When I looked up the reviews for Aspen, I was shocked to see they have a reputation to misdiagnose their new patients for needing this costly treatment. I will be filing a complaint with the dental board regarding malpractice as they gave me an improper diagnosis of periodontal disease and really believe this dental chain has shady business practices. Additionally, this has caused me a lot of unneeded stress and I hope this review helps others who have been to this dental practice seek another opinion before going through with treatment that may not be needed.

They took X-rays and scheduled a cleaning that was supposed to be no charge since I was a new patient and had no dental insurance. They presented me with a list of costs to do a bridge which was going to cover five teeth due to previous crowns on adjacent teeth. The total cost presented was $11,068. I asked if they took Careington. This is a discount program I belong to. They went back over the costs and the final price for the five tooth bridge was $5,894. I agreed to this and they billed$3,536 to the credit card. After the extraction of the root and impressions they billed my credit card another$2,857.68. That is $500 more than the initial agreed price.

When I called to ask why the over charge they said this was for lab work that my insurance requested. As I said I have no insurance. This discrepancy is not ethical. They slipped this added charge without discussing this with me and all work associated with each tooth was written on the initial proposed quote. I was not scheduled to receive the new bridge for another two weeks. Beware of their billing practices.

Therefore no insurance and I told these people day ONE I had a dentist phobia and will need sedation since they don’t offer gas or anything else a normal GOOD dentist office has. These people are crooks, they have made racial comments and then have the audacity to fire me as a patient because they gave me some trash work for $1100. I had to be refunded over $1000 but I paid them $1100 to pull my teeth, damage my teeth and dismiss me as a patient. These corporations do this to certain races because they know they don’t have the money to attain a lawyer because they need to be out of business. I want to go to the news on these people, I want to do a lot of things. Their reviews are TRASH and they lie on their website like they’re a substantial place and it’s beyond incompetent. These people ruined my life and confidence and showed zero remorse and lied about everything!

My regular dentist was overwhelmed during covid and couldn't do any more cleanings so I went to Aspen Dental. As I was sitting in the waiting room, three different clients were arguing with the receptionist about being overcharged or their insurance didn't pay for their specific treatment. When I went back they took xrays, did an assessment of plaque, then rated me with 5s and 6s. The dentist came in for less than a minute and said I had a cracked tooth and needed a cap. They sent me to the person who does the billing and said the cleaning was $2000 and the cap was $2000. And they tried to set me up with a loan for $4300.00. I walked out and was lucky the hygiene company in town had an opening. The cleaning was $140 and xrays were $80. My plaques scores were 2s and 3s. There was no cracked tooth. I went back to my dentist and paid $65 for a checkup. Aspen Dental should be closed down.

I awoke with a toothache. My former dentists office is now part of a chain and they could not get me an appointment for weeks. I made the mistake of going to Aspen Dental in Springfield Oregon. Told them I had a toothache but all they could do was bring me in for an "exam". X-Rays were taken and then I had a visit from a hygienist and then an actual dentist. I asked about my toothache and she immediately says "We'll just pull the tooth that hurts". I immediately refused that treatment. Then they proceeded to give me a $15,000 "Treatment Plan". What a bunch of crap. I didn't visit them to get a "Treatment Plan". I visited them to get some treatment for a toothache.

I have a dental discount plan through AARP/United Healthcare as part of my health insurance and this office is listed on the website as accepting this discount plan, but the folks at the front counter and their in house billing people kept telling me that I was not eligible, even though I called the number on the website and they verified my eligibility. I'll never return. ASPEN Dental is just a giant ripoff.

If I could give them a 0 I would. This place is terrible. I recently added dental insurance to my Aetna medical plan and this place was listed as accepting my insurance. I called to make an appointment and should have been suspicious by how many available appointments they had as soon as next day. But I made an appointment and gave them my insurance over the phone. I got there and waited 35 minutes to be seen, then another half hour to take X-rays, then waited to see a hygienist and again to see the dentist. 2 Hours later my teeth were still not cleaned which is all I wanted done. They told me I had to wait for a consultation or they could call me to go over it. Or if I wanted to pay the $493 they would do it then and there (my insurance covered a cleaning, x rays and exam).

I left because I had only allotted about an hour for the appointment (no one told me otherwise and I have never been at a dentist for more than that) and I only wanted a free cleaning that my insurance covers. They had even included the cost of a water pic they wanted me to buy from them (which was above the 493). I told them them I only wanted the cleaning and they said they can not do that. What a racket!!!! I felt like I was at a sales pitch for just getting my teeth cleaned. And the worst part was that I was not told any of this over the phone when I called to make the initial appointment. I guess that is a way for them to charge for exams because people do not know any better. This was a complete waste of my time!!! And now have waisted my covered exam and X-rays on a place I will not be going to. This place should be shut down for manipulation and depiction!

Aspen incorrectly charged my wife over $2,000 for work that was covered by her insurance and refuses to refund the money they incorrectly charged her for, even after 3 months of trying. Aspen's customer service representatives and district supervisors ROUTINELY make promises that they do not keep. If I had a dollar for every time I was told that I'd get a call back that same day and didn't, well, I'd have a lot of dollars.

Aspen's customer service representatives are extremely unprofessional. For example, it is standard in business to put an "out-of-office" message on your email if you will be out of the office for days. Aspen customer service reps don't do this. Aspen appears to have a large turnover among its employees. Getting told that an employee is no longer with Aspen and didn't take care of issues they promised they would is more than just annoying. If you are looking for a PROFESSIONAL dentist with decent customer service, look elsewhere. Aspen is not that company.

After I told her only uppers she said she has to refigure it out and had me on hold almost 20 min till an office worker answered and said she had an emergency and will get back to me. I waited till afternoon of next day and called back since she never got back to me. When we spoke she said with my coverage may cost to extract 1 tooth is $156 after ins. I spoke with my ins co and they told me it should be $70 normal extraction and $130 for a surgical extraction so she did not tell the truth or is making up her own prices.

Then she said my coverage does not cover anything on an implant denture which is also not true. I found Latoya to be rude and unprofessional. I called around, and found out that they had never submitted the bill to my insurance company for payment. What's more, the dentist they used for my procedure was not in-network with my insurance, despite Aspen being in-network. This is illegal in Oregon under the "No Surprises Act". The codes on the bill they sent me do not match the procedures I had done.

When I looked back through my notes from October 2022, I wrote that Aspen had drug their heels in getting me scheduled so they could collect more money-- they "lost" the x-rays I sent them, "forgot" whether I had insurance, refused to answer my calls or book me, then closed their offices for a meeting at my appointment time so they could further delay my appointment, all so they could claim my x-rays were "outdated" at 1 year and 1 day old! Then, they quoted me $5 for x-rays before the visit, and then said $230 at the end of the visit. To have them darken my doorstep a year and a half later, spamming me with balance due texts, for a nightmare transaction I hoped was over a year and a half ago, is wild.

When we scheduled the consultation they were in network, then right before the appt, we checked again & their name didn't show up. So at the consultation that was free, we asked them to verify because we really wanted to use them. Stephanie said she would check & make sure because they were changing owners. After the consultation, they wanted to schedule an appt for a cleaning but I said, I didn't want to schedule if we weren't in network. They still didn't know but said we could schedule the appt & just cancel if we weren't.

Because they were verifying our network status & went ahead & encouraged us to set an appointment, made us believe that they would let us know what they found out & if we weren't they would tell us so we could cancel the appointment, especially since I kept bringing up the network issue. However, we were never notified either way & so went ahead w/ the appointment believing we were in network because we thought we would be notified otherwise.

How we found out that we weren't, was by receiving a bill. When we called, we were told that Stephanie had entered in the notes that she had told my husband at the consultation which is not true because we would have never made the cleaning appt. The office manager, Ryan, then informs us that it's not her job to let us know if we're in network or not. My issue is, not the money but that this company has devious tactics & offers to do something (multiple times) that's not their job, giving us the impression that it is and then lies about it & the only consequence is that we now have a bill that we would not have had, if she would have said it's not her job, not lied that she told us when she didn't, and the appointment was not encouraged without verification. The company does not want to make this right.

I went in because my upper teeth were weak from abuse from an ex. They told me they could do bridge for the whole top. I asked if my teeth could handle it for a yes. I paid over 10000 after insurance to have one side fall out after 3 month. Then again And again the bridge broke my tooth. Then the the other side came out 3 times and finally broke my tooth off. Now I have to get dentures for the top because I spent my whole savings to get that done and cannot afford the 4 in 1 implant which I could of instead of the bridge..

I went back today. They were awful. She took the impression and I was gagging. Could not breathe. A big piece of the wax went into my throat then she got mad at me and I am still waiting.. I just wanted to smile feel good instead some 3 that was supposed to last 20 yrs later. 3 months I have not been able to eat real food. Smile go on a date or even want to try. If I could give this place a NEGATIVE 10, I would. What a JOKE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO THIS horrific and poor excuse for a dentist!!! My daughter was there for 2 hours FOR NOTHING!! She had an emergency appointment and was SUPPOSED to have the tooth extracted, but NO, they did a FULL WORK UP. (And they THINK they are going to charge the insurance for a full exam and xrays - guess what...They WON'T, because we are filing a fraud claim if they do!)

My daughter has been suffering for 2 days in severe pain, and they told her they could extract the tooth and that they had nitrous oxide. Well after 2 hours of trying to fraud the insurance company and do a heck of a lot more that was requested, needed or even necessary and then the "Dr." comes in and says, "We don't have nitrous oxide." Are you kidding me? He LIED, not only was he a quack but he was a LIAR as well. She cannot have a surgical procedure done without nitrous oxide. period. So they said they would give her a prescription for an **, to go fill it and come back tomorrow to have it pulled....What the HECK? ** is NOT going to kill the pain of a surgical procedure. What the ** are these IDIOTS thinking? They aren't!

They have no idea who they messed with. You DO NOT treat a patient that is in pain, that has already explained that she has ptsd from previous dental procedures, and then send her home...still in SEVERE PAIN which is now worse because she sat in your musical chairs dental office FOR NOTHING! What a JOKE! DO NOT BOTHER GOING TO THESE IDIOTS! They are quacks, and they LIE.... Just a bunch of kids running the place, truly sickening!! Once again I'm trying not to let them convince me to get something that I don't want. Fourth time I've had new procedures written up. I don't want a big bulky thing in my mouth. I just want the four implants and a partial in the back. I don't know what's so hard about that. Bad enough the accident I got into and the trauma I went through and I know I'm going to pay 20 grand or more.

But I just want what I want and not what they want me to have and it feels like they're putting what they want me to have and not what I want to have and when I woke up from the procedure it was the worst pain I've ever been into my life. My head felt like it was being squished by a giant and the first thing the surgeon said was it's because of the ** and then he prescribes me ** something I've never taken in my whole life. I don't like being stereotyped because I have a medical ** license and because I smoke flour it's only thing I do. I don't drink alcohol. I don't take pills. I don't do anything. I don't like being treated differently because I'm honest. The surgeon was rude and wrong to say that to me especially when I just got out of surgery and I'm an excruciating pain and I couldn't even get anything for the pain for 2 hours.

They didn't call it in and Walmart was out to lunch. I had to wait almost 2 hours just to get any pain meds and now this temporary thing doesn't fit and I keep trying to make it fit like they told me to. It's not the right size they didn't make it right. It's too narrow my mouth is not narrow like this. I have a square mouth not a narrow egg shape mouth. How they built it it's hideous and I would never pay for this thing. I think they did an awful job making it. The only thing that's good about it is the front two teeth because I asked for the little Gap. That's the only thing that's right about it. I can say the best experience was lady assistant helping in the back.

I was going to pay cash, but I was talked into applying for their Care Credit Card and I got approved. I was told the 330.00 would be charged to card. I Received card with a $1,200.00 Credit balance. I was told that I would have to pay 30.00 a month for a year to pay off said $330.00 balance. I checked monthly after installing their app and there has always a 0.00 balance. I just figured that my insurance company ended up paying the entire bill.

10 months later March 8, 2024, I receive a bill for over double the original amount. I have tried to work things out with the billing department but they want me to get the insurance company to pay it. I didn't have anything to do with the charging of the service or why the insurance company decided not to pay the additional 461.90. I would have never agreed to the extra services had I known that Aspen Dental doesn't charge the insurance company properly or they don't advise the patient correctly of their unsavory billing practices.

Ten months later I get a bill for 800 dollars so I give them a call. They told me my insurance did not pay on my partial that I should call my insurance. My insurance informed that they did inquire about the partial and was told I had another month waiting period before the insurance would pay anything on the partials. For my upper teeth I was scared and took my time but it was so expensive. I saw Aspen Dental commercials with the 30% discount and was very excited. I told them how much I spent for my lower teeth and they agreed it was a lot. I go to sit with the financing person who is all smiles, she says "you are going to be so happy". But you only have my name? Do I not get the discount because of my name?

I went to another office within a week, got a quote in the 20k range and got my teeth done their. Aspen dental is a parasite! The worst experience imaginable. I’ve had several friends and family warn me about Aspen Dental, 4001 Denny Avenue, Pascagoula, MS, but nothing could have prepared me for the series of lies and corruption from the administrative staff to the dentist himself. I checked in early with two admin assistants who were immediately cold, unprofessional, aggressive, aloof, and snide. I completed the paperwork, and provided two forms of very good insurance, despite the lies of one admin assistant who ineptly (and unethically) played lawyer and falsely advised me on what the law required. I almost left immediately as I sensed a scam, and in hindsight should have left right away.

Over the next 2 hours and 20 minutes (0950 to 1220), I was moved among four rooms, received in depth X-rays from a very sweet and professional dental assistant, but also received false and contradictory information from dental nurse and dentist. I was told several times that I was being assessed for the “type of cleaning” that would be best, and that I would be able to choose once all of the “prep work” was completed. After two hours of being moved around, I was treated to alternating sweet and aggressive staff, getting false and contradictory information on my insurance and the type of cleaning and the next steps and the condition of my teeth and the purpose of the equipment (etc) from several staff. Finally I got the hard up-sell scam from a third admin assistant and from the dentist himself. I was told that I had to choose the most expensive treatment, and that none of my insurance would cover anything.

As I left to the lobby, on my departure, the most aggressive admin assistant loudly stated that the gingivitis deep cleaning was “the only treatment that was legal to provide.” Again, unprofessional at best and malpractice at worst. This was the final step of the scam. The whole staff lied, bullied, and attempted to scare me into the most expensive treatment that coincidentally wasn’t covered by my insurance. The dentist even came to the lobby and aggressively confronted me, saying that the admin assistant “never said that.” A complete lie.

After 30 years of testifying in federal court, I know false legal advice and unethical behavior when I hear it. The more the dentist insisted, “you didn’t hear that,” the more the scam became obvious. The whole office was scared at being called out for the unprofessionalism, the lies, and the bullying. When the dentist realized that I knew what I heard, and knew it was a scam, he meekly said, “well three employees thought you were rude.” I’m sure they did. It’s hard to confront a liar and a bully without doing so clearly and directly. I’m sure they felt I was rude of me not to go along with the scam.

I escaped this scam, after wasting almost two and a half hours, and immediately went to another dentist (Bienville Dental Group). They were wonderful, professional, and honest. No scam, no lies, no bullying, no alternating sweet and aggressive treatment (common among scams). They were able to verify my MetLife dental insurance in less than 30 seconds (Aspen couldn’t verify it with more than 30 minutes “effort”). After some brief X-rays, I received the thorough and professional cleaning and checkup I had hoped to receive from the first.

What an ugly experience of lies and corruption at Aspen Dental. I can only be thankful that this scam, and the very rude and unprofessional dentist and staff didn’t trap me in their lies. I have discussed this experience with several friends (more than 10) who are also dentists and dental hygienists working in Louisiana and California, and every one of them were shocked and apologetic, but not surprised. They have each heard of such experiences with Aspen Dental before. Additionally, I have reported this incident to the Dental Advisory Board, the Better Business Bureau, and have left reviews on several platforms. Shame on Aspen Dental for bullying clients, especially the older clients, into paying exorbitant prices and lying to the patients they’re supposed to help.

Up-sell pressure from the beginning, I needed to replace 13 year old dentures. I was given glossy hard card advertising, I chose the medium package (just over 3 grand), and was required to pay in advance (no insurance). On the day I paid the balance ($1,524.50 down, needing $1,500 to begin work beyond my "free" x-rays), I noted that the package purchased was for a new patient (total yank, soft liner-ed temps, then permanent), NOT simple replacements, and was reduced by $500. So far, so good. Bad fit had me return for an adjustment, which left the edges of the lower plate sharp, that cut my tongue up after eating a hamburger (first solid food for a while). No biggie, I have sandpaper. That set split across the pallet, lost a tooth in the upper, and 2 teeth in the lower, which I repaired (although the split pallet was fixed by them in the one year warranty period). I complained that way too many faults needed a redo, and they agreed.

Fast forward to today, I was offered an upgrade to "ComfiLytes" for only $700, I said no, just replace the original faulty dentures. Twice during the procedure I was pushed toward implants (hard sell). NO, too many horror stories, no implants! The lower plate was painful, and I noticed rather short on the mini skirt (that should have been a full length gown). Twice I was rushed out during the "final fitting", again a hard sell to implants (they could even use the short skirt denture they crafted for me). After the second bum's rush out the door before the procedure was completed, I stormed out, feeling abused and disrespected.

After I got two bills for an upgrade to "ComfiLytes" that never happened, I asked for my money back, since I did not have functional dentures (still using my now 14 year old uppers, with their twice repaired first lower (by me), then I asked for their "Satisfaction Guaranteed" refund. I was served papers via FedEx signature required legal service, banning me from any and every Aspen Dental outlet NATIONWIDE! No refund, no joy, and they turned a reasonable doubter (people just don't do that sort of thing, but then again, a corporation is NOT people, even if the Supreme Court says so), into a crusader. Besides the fact my appointment was rescheduled 2 times.. let's start this nightmare! I told them I had a filling fall out and needed it replaced when I made the appointment, told them again when they confirmed the appointment and told them AGAIN today when I arrived! They had me there for 3 hours total and 2 1/2 before I ever spoke to the dentist. Panoramic x rays, 3-d xrays and individual mouth xrays. I was examined by 2 people before I ever laid eyes on the dentist..I thought, "Ok 1 set of x rays because I am a new patient." I get but 3 sets and all the other people poking around in my mouth for a filling replacement? Seemed a bit much!

DR. Knox finally arrives in the room.. starts making a treatment plan without even asking me the nature of my visit, which I assumed she knew since I had told 3 people before being seen that day. Nope not one person wrote down the actual nature of my visit.. so I stop her during her $15,000 dental treatment plan to ask when I was getting the filling replaced. That was why I came in. She said first, "Well it's late in the day now," I said, "It was not 2 1/2 hrs ago when I got here," then she said she would not replace the filling until I had the gum treatment first (at the $4,000 price tag). I said, "WHAT?!?! That's the whole reason I am here!! I want it filled before it gets worse and starts being painful" ... Dr. Knox said then it was not too late in the day, but I just had to start the gum treatment first then she would replace the filling.

So forcing me to pay the $4,000 ($2,000 for me after my insurance) before doing what I went in for. I was MAD. I mean really MAD! I grabbed my things and left. Called my insurance and did file a complaint on the claim they try to submit for payment for today, I did not want or ask for all those xrays! They also gave me the phone number for the Texas Dental Association to file a formal complaint against this dental office with them. I have done that as well! It's pretty sad when you call your dental insurance company and tell them what happened to you and the insurance agent asks you if you went to Aspen Dental! They already knew where I went! She told me they have A LOT of complaints on them for doing this same thing to other patients!! I filed a complaint with the BBB also.

After telling me I needed to have five teeth pulled and that they would make me a partial. They're billing department told me everything was covered under my insurance and I would not be billed for anything. So I told them to go ahead and do the work. My first partial that they made broke when I was eating a hamburger. They told me that I would have to come back after the first of the year when my insurance took effect to finish any other work that I need to be done. I have had several fillings fall out. They told me they would fix them for no charge so I went in twice to have that done.

The third time I went in to have a filling fixed that had fallen out they said it wasn't guaranteed. They stated that they only guarantee their feelings for 30 days. Had I known this I never would have went in. So now I have to go to another dentist to have their work fixed. And at that time I also found out that they said I owed them $850 that my insurance didn't cover. I question them to why they told me every time I came in that the work I was having done was covered by my insurance they could not give me a rational answer. I will never go back to that facility again. And I would never recommend them to anyone.

In December 2023 I went for a scheduled cleaning at Aspen Dental, Portage, MI. My insurance, Humana, was supposed to cover this. I was charged for that instead, as Aspen claimed, at first, I had no insurance. They also charged me a large sum for treatment last May that, at the time, I was told was covered also. While in the office in Dec. I heard other patients complaining about also being charged for previous treatments. I called Humana & in a 3-way phone call with Aspen they came up with conflicting, ambiguous explanations for my charges. None of it made sense but they wormed their way out of it. Many of their staff have recently quit and even were all complaining about each other to patients. Very unprofessional. I will never go back there.

Another Aspen outlet, in Kalamazoo, pressured me last April to get implants instead of a root canal. I refused and never returned there. The cost of a root canal, also, was much more (at both outlets) than I later paid, even as a re-root canal, at a different dentists' practice (a specialist). Previously I was pressured into taking out a credit card for the original root canal, also at Aspen (Portage). Funny how this cost me roughly 3X the amount for a more intricate procedure at a specialist's office!

After 10+ years and 4 different locations and 4 different states throughout the country, Aspen Dental does not want my business anymore. They are great newly built offices and all staffed by very qualified professionals. These places are just tooth brokers, like buying a car, or a house. Buyers just need to do their homework before signing on. My history/dental records were lost or always very difficult to have transferred from one office to another. Which is useful to compare against the treatments they offer you against the treatment you really need. If you know how to deal when making purchases like this and are a tough negotiator, Aspen Dental is a great place.

    Dear Aspen Dental Glastonbury,

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent experience I had at your dental clinic. Unfortunately, the service provided by both the dentist and service representative fell significantly below my expectations. The dentist's approach and care were, in my opinion, subpar. This left me feeling uneasy and dissatisfied with the overall quality of the treatment. Additionally, the service representative's handling of the situation was too less than satisfactory. She mention I had a wisdom tooth which is a lie because all 4 wisdom tooth was removed for the past 6 years. This further added to the negative experience and left me with concerns about the professionalism of your staff.

I believe constructive feedback is essential for improvement, and I hope you take this opportunity to address these issues. I trust that you will investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate measures to ensure that future patients do not encounter similar problems. Dear Family and Friends, Stay away from Aspen Dental, I was home in pain due to serious Nerve pain because of the filling they did to my teeth and I call to come in but they won’t see me until after 3 days while I am lying in bed with severe pain and the customer service desk was so rude on the phone.

I would give Aspen Dental 0 stars if I could. The dentist on staff came highly recommended by a friend. I just wish I would have done more research into Aspen Dental themselves before scheduling! At my consult appointment, a normal appointment ensued with x-rays, teeth checks, etc. At the end of the appointment I was brought to a desk where I received information on what type of work I was going to need and the cost. I was given a total, notified what my insurance would cover and then offered a finance plan for what the insurance wouldn't cover. As a person who has worked with medical insurance, I asked MULTIPLE times that all the work was cleared through my insurance and authorized and I was advised yes, no additional fees outside what they were showing me at that time would be assessed. I agreed to the plan, the total cost, and I scheduled my first of seven appointments. I went through with 2 of the 6 appointments.

I ended up rescheduling the 3rd appointment due to a work meeting. Thank goodness I did! I received a bill in the mail from Aspen Dental, which I thought odd because I had financed what my insurance wasn't covering. After only 2 appointments, I ended up being charged almost DOUBLE what was originally quoted for 6 appointments! Aspen Dental DID NOT pre-authorize anything with my insurance as I later found out. Part of it is my fault as I should have triple checked with my insurance, alas, I fell prey to a corporation in which I trusted to be honest with me for my health and well being. Overall, I WOULD NOT recommend Aspen Dental to anyone! They are liars and I cannot image what my bill would have been if I would of continued with all 6 appointments. Lesson learned!

I lost a crown and just wanted it cemented back as a temporary solution as I'm moving out of state. After 2 x-rays, Dr. Christina said she could not do anything but still charged me $158. REALLY? I come from a family of dentists and I KNOW there's always something that can be done to help a patient. I even told Dr. Christina what she could do, and said I'm aware that this is not a permanent solution. I just need something to chew normally while I find a new dentist in my new town... but she just smiled and said no. Unbelievable! Then the office manager just said sorry, she could not refund me even partially. These are the 2 most expensive x-rays of my life! Save your time and money. They're not professionals, but scammers.

P.S. On checking reviews, it was my fault. I should have checked them before I made my appointment, but I'm busy with the move. Most of their reviews are 1 star. Stay away from this place!

DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL IF YOU HAVE AN HMO!/ DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING! I write this to warn other people who have limited income/ are on a budget /on medicare with an HMO plan to not go to Aspen Dental if you have an HMO, to prevent what happened to me from happening to anyone else. They DO NOT ACCEPT HMOs and deceptively advertise that they 'accept most insurance plans' and 'try to keep costs low' which is patently false. I saw them advertise free x-rays, etc and being a disabled senior on a budget, went in for an exam hoping to get a good price for care. After my exam, because I needed a crown and deep cleaning which is expensive, I told them I wanted to look into my 2024 hmo coverage first before I make a decision on care, because I thought it covers cleanings and possibly more in Jan 2024...

As soon as I said I have HMO not PPO, and WITHOUT TELLING ME/DISCLOSING THE FACT that THEY do not accept HMOs, both the mgr and hygienist, separately, heavily dissuaded me from even looking into my options with insurance coverage first and to have the work done then and there with a payment plan instead of insurance. I let them talk me into it because I was exhausted due to neuro disease/brain fog, and made the wrong decision. Because of this, my bill was $1800! just for the deep cleaning, $3,235 total which is NOT low cost and I could have gone to a top tier dentist in Marin County for that price. Had I waited a mere two weeks on my hmo plan, I would have had zero copay, instead I have an $1800 bill and still need a crown.

DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL if you have an HMO plan, they will dissuade you from using your insurance plan coverage and to use their payment plans instead, which are not low cost. Go to a dentist in your network which will save you thousands and not put you in debt with interest payments. My Medicare Advantage HMO 2024 plan is zero copay and covers up to $2k of dental deep cleanings, crowns, etc. with many dentists in my area. Call Medicare and speak to a legitimate representative, not a scam insurance company to get the best plan for your situation. Aspen Dental deceptively advertises they accept most insurances and try to keep costs low. I should have been allowed to look into my options and save thousands by using my HMO plan instead. They do not have google reviews, but have just 1.5 stars on ConsumerAffairs.

BE HONEST!!!! On December 11, 2023, at approximately 5:30 PM I walked into The Aspen Dental office located on Merritt Boulevard in Dundalk Maryland. I was greeted by the receptionist. At this time I asked if the establishment took my insurance at which time I presented my insurance card to the woman. She proceeded to tell me that my insurance was accepted and promptly set up my appointment.

On December 13, 2023, I reported as scheduled for my appointment. I was greeted by the same woman, at this time she proceeded to check me in with general basic health questions. I was called from the waiting room and brought back to the X-ray area by the Dental Assistant, She was very pleasant as she asked me when the last time I had dental X-rays taken. I jokingly said, "It was over a year so I'm sure my insurance will cover it." She replied, "Oh don't worry about that your first assessment is free at Aspen."

I was then brought back to an examination room where I was met by a very friendly dentist and examined, she was followed by the dental hygienist also very pleasant. After a brief conversation, the Hygienist advised me that before any work was done they would refer me to a periodontist. I was then escorted to a separate waiting area to wait for my referral. Finally, I was led to a woman who would hand me my referral, at this time this woman advised me that the facility does not accept my insurance. I began to question this and the woman became very short with me. She stated that she tried contacting me several times via phone and text message to advise me of this. When I replied I had no missed calls or messages from Aspen her arrogance began to glow.

Stating they attempted to contact me was a blatant lie, furthermore, if they knew the night before that my insurance did not cover this visit why was that not the first thing they said to me when I arrived for my appointment? Instead, they led me through an X-ray, a dentist, and a Hygienist examination before charging me well over $200.00.

This business practice was calculated and deliberate. I find this facility to be highly unethical and suspect at best. At NO TIME during this visit did anyone discuss my insurance plan until after they purposely ran up the bill. Had the company been honest on the front end I would have taken my dental care elsewhere, I will be sure to advise the Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce of these practices as well. My review will not lack the honesty that the facility did.

My bottom denture broke and I went to Aspen to get a new bottom denture. Wait time was way past appointment time. It has been six weeks and I still don't have the new denture. I was supposed to get it on 11/17/23. I had an appointment for 11:30 am. At 11:05 I received a phone call telling me they needed to reschedule the appointment. The reason was that the lab had not completed the denture. I was told that it would be Tuesday, 11/21/23 before it would be ready.

On my first visit the dentist talked about doing bone surgery but that they didn't do that there, I would have to be referred to an oral surgeon and it would be expensive. I declined and just asked for a new bottom denture. I was new to the area and didn't have a regular dentist. Once I declined extra services he acted like he was done with me and I have never seen him again. After impressions were made, I was given over to the finance manager who informed me of the cost for the replacement. He then took me from the exam room to the front where I was informed that I had to pay 60% upfront. I didn't have insurance so he tried to push their payment plan on me. I told him that was not necessary as I could pay cash. The total was near $1700.

I have been back for more impressions, a wax demo of my denture which was supposed to be the final step then I would get my denture. They have an almost harassing policy of 'confirming' appointments. I was contacted 25 minutes before my last appointment to confirm I would be there when I had confirmed the appointment several times already. If that wasn't enough, I was given an appointment for my next appointment before I left. Three hours later they were calling, texting and emailing me that it was urgent that I contact them regarding my upcoming appointment. All of it was just to confirm the appointment.

The staff has a bad attitude, talks down to the patients, laughs at and makes fun of patients and basically ignores them. I fully expect them to tell me my denture is still not ready and I will spend the holiday trying to eat things that don't need chewing. BTW, this office the on Harbison Blvd. in Columbia, SC. My denture is only a year and a half old, and I had gotten a small hairline crack from accidentally biting on a popcorn seed. I called several numbers in our area that advertise same day denture repair, and same day emergency denture repair; every number I called is routed to Aspen Dental. The call center was very helpful and said yes, they will repair the small crack I have in my denture regardless of where I got my denture, so I set up an appointment for the next day. Then a woman from the local office called me and I explained my situation and she said she didn't think they'd repair dentures that were not from them, but she'd call me back.

When she called back, she said yes, they will repair any dentures not just their dentures. Keep in mind any of the emergency denture repair, or same day denture repair phone numbers in our area are all routed to Aspen Dental. That would lead you to believe they repair dentures. So I went to my appointment, and they took an entire set of x-rays regardless of the fact that I only want to repair my denture. Then I told the doctor I don't want an exam or treatment plan as I'm only there for a small crack to be fixed. She said, "Well unless you got your denture here, they probably won't fix it." I explained to her that I was told they would fix all dentures not just theirs. So they took my denture.

Then a woman came and started to explain to me that unless I go through an entire exam and set up some kind of treatment plan, they would not fix my denture. Then she says this denture looks old and you need a new one. I guaranteed her the denture was only a year old with very little wear. They basically said they wouldn't fix my denture unless I did what they wanted. It is false advertising when they say same-day denture repair. They should say only their patients will receive denture repair. All they want is to sell you one of their packages!!

It felt like I was being Sold, Sold, Sold on items I didn't need and then were put on my bill - surprise! The dental hygienist was rude, disconnected and did not seem to want to be there. It hurt and he didn’t seem to care that he was hurting me during the exam. I felt embarrassed and asked that he not be part of my care in the future. I also did NOT understand that talking about waterpiks meant there would be a waterpik on my bill in 15 minutes for over $100.

Basic courtesy was hit or miss depending on the employee. I said “thank you” over and over to staff, including the dentist during the exam, and nothing. Silence. No “You are welcome” or small talk. Nothing. Then the woman who does the finances walked me to her desk. She was impatient with me, and sighed several times because I didn't understand why the bill was so high. The bill for future treatment was almost $4000, including the waterpik I didn't realize was put on my bill. I asked her to take the “extras” off my bill like the waterpik and mouth guard I didn’t realize I had agreed to. That took $200 off the bill.

The finance woman wouldn’t allow me to make an appointment for the next treatment until I put HALF the cost down. She wanted a $400 deposit to make an appointment for my next cleaning. She said, “We are pay to schedule appointments here”. Gross. She was impatient, annoyed and unkind. I felt railroaded, manipulated and then talked down to. I still feel bad.

Technician responded 'that's our procedure'. I tried to explain that an x-ray would have no bearing on a denture repair but technician insisted I needed an x-ray first. I explained that I was unwilling to pay for an x-ray that had nothing to do with a denture repair and was told that they refused to help me unless I followed their rules. So I went to Aspen because it was shortly after COVID and my other dentist was not available. So I get to the dentist and I tell them I want them to be like how they are right now because it's my front teeth, my 4 front teeth. I didn't want it to look different just newer. I didn't want the shape to be different. I paid 3000 down and I am still paying for them 2 years later and from the get go they were too small. I told them that and they caused so many problems with my bite and even the muscles in my face because of my bite being so thrown off.

But no one cares about anything there, even now. They changed ownership but no one cares still. I got excited thinking they actually were going to care. They told me I should have said something sooner I have done nothing but say something and then now you want to tell me I should have said something sooner. Wow! I did say something and nothing got done. They also lie and don't put everything on paper. They suck and now I am the one who has to suffer and no one cares. Thank God they are sealed well but when you are not happy with them and the shape doesn't fit my face right you don't care about that. I just wanted to feel good about my smile. Now I just want to cry every day. And because they are sealed right doesn't make it better.

You should have seen how bad it was affecting my face because of my bite being off. I just want you to move your jaw to one side and imagine it being stuck like that. That's how I felt, crooked. It was awful considering I had an accident when I was little that affected my face some. They at least made me more comfortable but I still hate my crowns because my face feels flat now because they made them with hardly any projection. But I was told to just" be happy." Well, I tried that since I got them and I am not happy. So this time I will make sure they know what I want and I will not leave until I am happy. There is so much more I am leaving out. Just don't go there. They sucked 2 years ago and they suck now. The nurse was hearing me, the dentist didn't care. So it's an expensive lesson learned.

This has got to be one of the worst office staff ever. I'm not sure how they receive such amazing ratings elsewhere and can only assume they're bought and paid for because there is NO way anyone could be happy with the service here. Everyone is incredibly rude and condescending and obviously hate to have to do their job. My last straw with them was when I made an appt for my kid for a routine teeth cleaning. They told me that if I didn't provide my insurance information before the Monday appt date, they would take him off the schedule.

Understandable, I guess, so I promptly did as they asked. I called, gave the lady the requested information, and then re-verified right then that he would be there at appt time on the scheduled date at the scheduled time. Fast forward to an hour later which was 15 mins before their closing time (Friday), they call me and I'm unable to answer as I'm at work at the time. They leave a voicemail, which I unable to get to until after they're closed. The voicemail was to let me know that since they were unable to reach me to "confirm my son's appt", they had no choice but to take him of the schedule for Monday. Like **??!!! Of course, it's too late to call them back as the office is now closed, and now when Monday comes, there's no way they'd get him back on the schedule on such short notice!!! Am I livid? Absolutely!!!

I have TWO HUGE complaints... In December 2021 I started the process for getting a full set of dentures. I had my lowers removed and had 2 bone graphs for future dental implants. In January of 2022 I got my tops done. It took Aspen 11.5 months to issue me my permanent dentures (I was told it would be a 6 month process). Fast forward to June of 2023 I had my implants. After only 4 months one of my implants was fully exposed and very wiggly. I called aspen immediately and was told they have no appointments and didn't know when the dentist would be in the office (it was Oct 17). I had to make an emergency appointment with my prior denture to remove the implant to ensure I didn't swallow it or choke on it!!

Second complaint is my 17 year old son had an appointment to get a cavity filled (I might add aspen is the only place in my town that accepts my husband's insurance). So after taking my son back numbing his tooth they realized he didn't have a cavity in his tooth and didn't need filling... After my son's appointment was over my husband requested a refund for the cost of the filling and was told it would be 6-8 weeks for a refund!!! I will NEVER recommend aspen to anyone!!

The other they said I need a root canal and needed a specialist, then they looked at it again and suddenly they could do it. Well I get there for my root canal and I'm told the secretary has changed my course of treatment for today and I would not be getting a root canal just the fillings that I was told could not be done until the root canal was completed. They then wanted me to pay my co pay for the root canal that they told me I would not be getting done at this appointment. I then asked why my plan of treatment was changed and what qualifications the secretary has to change my course of treatment, At that point they told me I would not be treated. Very unprofessional. I went for a severely cracked tooth. Front desk, mean. Then went through an hour of X-rays with NO regard for hurt tooth. It was like an assembly line and no communication. Was asked all the questions I had spent 20 minutes filling out prior. Dentist spent 10 minutes and poked and prodded all my teeth and never noticed me crying and trying to jump out of the chair when he hit the damaged tooth. Found over 20 issues nothing to do with reason for visit. Said he would refer me to Endodontist for root canal but it was an oral surgeon to remove the tooth. Confused.

After an hour and a half of anything and everything not having to do with hurt tooth I was shuffled to billing lady who then showed me the list of over 20 procedures for a total of $7500 after insurance. Expected payment right then and there. It would take a year to complete it all. So she said 60%. I was so confused and it was 5:30 so I paid it. On my way home holding my tooth and crying I realized this was nonsense. So I have asked for the money paid to be credited the next morning. She agreed very quickly (suspicious). I found a wonderful dentist that got me in within days. I’m sensing the money I paid upfront is going to be one big battle. We all have better things to do with our time. The actual dentist spent 10 minutes with me and said “It was nice to meet you but I won’t be your dentist. Just filling in for the week”. Nice. The X-ray girl was extremely unfriendly and sassy at times.

I called to get an antibiotic prescribed (dentist never thought to do that) and something for the pain. I said ** with ** worked well for me. No one called me back I got a text from my pharmacy with a 7 day antibiotic (???) and 800mg **. I listed all my medications on their paperwork and it included that medication). So it’s safe to say it’s not helping tooth pain. It’s a circus and lots of clowns. The kind we are all traumatized as kids. Aspen Dental is nothing but thieves. In my case, I went to them with a toothache and they never gave me a comprehensive exam or radiographic X-rays yet they billed Humana Insurance for both these services. I've been fighting with them to reverse these charges to Humana and since then I have had several excuses about my case.

1st excuse was that my surgeon replied with my prior approval that I couldn't have services done for 6 months until after the date of surgery. This was totally incorrect, my surgeon told them to wait 3 months, unless it was an emergency then they could work on my mouth.. 2nd excuse was Humana was never billed for any services. This was incorrect. They billed for 2 services which are both items that I mentioned above. They were both billed on 7/23/2023 in which Humana paid for the Comprehensive Oral Evaluation for a Comprehensive Series of Radiographic Images.

After fighting with them they agreed that I did not have the Radiographic Images done yet they refused to remove the charge for a comprehensive oral evaluation. I don't understand why, considering that I did not see a Dentist or a Dental Assistant. Not one person touched my mouth or even glanced in my mouth. I went to them with a toothache yet without even doing an oral exam, they referred me to an oral surgeon to extract a tooth that I told them was bad. That particular tooth had a root canal and cap done 20 years ago. The cap broke off over time and the tooth broke off over the years down to the root. I was told 2 years ago that tooth would eventually need to be pulled. At no time was I examined.

3rd Excuse was they insisted they did the so-called comprehensive oral exam and refused to reverse that charge. I guess that they feel an exam was done because it took me half an hour to fill out the prior approval letters and they would be faxing them to all my doctors. I guess the faxing of the 9 letters is now considered a comprehensive oral exam? At this time I will be stuck paying out of pocket for these services when I go to another Dental Office. Be sure to watch your EOB's carefully. If you don't, you may be paying for services that were never never rendered.

I asked if they could give me a quote on the out of pocket cost and her response was, "Ma'am, you are aware you don't have insurance." (I actually have Delta Dental) I said, "Are you able to provide me an out of pocket cost?" She said $10,000...for an implant. The more I think about this situation it sounds very much so like they only discuss options with people that have insurance so they can milk it and exploit the billing possibilities. On June 23, 2023, I made an appointment in Tullahoma TN with an ASPEN Dental oral surgeon who was in my insurance plan to ask about a dental implant. Upon arriving, I was told that Dentist was rarely at this location. This was a red flag to me that they gave me an appointment with someone that I would never see. They said they could do tests to see if I was a candidate for the implant, so I agreed. After the tests, I was told the price of my implant would be $2353.00, and I could pay half or the whole amount. I asked what happens if I am not a good candidate, and she said my money would be returned. To show my good faith, I paid $1176.50 which was half.

Finally in July after calling and calling, they said I was not a good candidate. So, I asked to have my money returned. Finally in August, $601.50 was returned to my credit card. After calling and calling, they said they would submit my claim to my insurance to see what my insurance would pay. (I did not believe they ever planned to make a claim to my dental insurance.) After calling and calling, I was told they would refund only $225 more because insurance never pays for the implant tests. I was not told that I would pay anything to see if I was a candidate for an implant. If they do return $225 to me, then the cost to see if I could have an implant was $350. I called another local oral surgeon and asked how much it costs to see if a person is a candidate for an implant, and they said it costs $211.

If Aspen Dental had told me I would pay $350 to see if I was a candidate, I would not have paid half the price of an implant, and I would not be warning people about them now. Also oral surgeons do not do the implants at ASPEN dental in Tullahoma TN. The are using the name of an oral surgeon to get implant business, but they do not perform the work. The work is performed by a dentist licensed to do implants, which is cheaper. Judge for yourself if you want to go to Aspen Dental for an implant.

Three days ago on 5 June 2023, a Monday, I was a patient at your office located at 205 S. Plano Road, Suite 300, Richardson, TX, 75081 for the very first and very last time. Arriving at the office ten minutes prior to my appointed time, the lady at the intake desk was very nice and helpful, and got me squared away. I appreciate her very much (and I am so sorry – I am terrible at getting names when meeting people, and I so badly wish to let the specific people know how lovely they were).

I was not called back until 25 minutes after my appointed time. Sure, irksome – I find that irk is fleeting. Not a good first impression, but I was now going back to get things underway, so let’s have a good time. Once through the door, there was talk about me being forced to get xrays. I admitted that I’d not been able to get any of my history from my previous dentist, as the reason I’d left there was that they snuck in “services” performed on me without letting me know nor asking my consent, which also gave me extra bills. It was a bit of a shady, messy exit. Another lady at the one desk was totally on the ball, very knowledgeable, and let me know that as a new patient, xrays are not charged (it was a concern as my previous xrays had been roughly eight months ago). She helped me repeatedly with the navigation of dental finances throughout my visit, and she is a star and a fantastic member of your Richardson team.

All goes smoothly until the third portion of the seated xray, which utilizes a yellow color-coded plastic biteplate. The hygienist, **, was very gentle and careful in all that she did, but when she put the yellow biteplate in my mouth, it gouged open about a centimeter-long wound in my bottom gum behind my teeth. Upon my painful reaction she felt so bad and I tried to explain to her that it was not her fault, it was just that the yellow piece is too large to fit in my mouth. In spite of me saying this, she went back and pushed the same piece back into the exact same place in my mouth, directly hitting the injury I’d just received. It hurt badly, so I unintentionally squawked and started trying to back my chair away from her as a reflex. Seeing this, she got another worker, some woman in a lab coat, to see what we could do for the last set of xrays.

The woman in the lab coat comes in, and goes to put the yellow biteplate into my mouth. I winced because she hit that injury again, and she started laughing in my face (literally, due to her proximity for one). I asked her simply, “Why are you laughing at my pain?” “Oh no, I’m not laughing at you,” she lied, while visibly trying to stop giggling. Here’s the thing, if she, instead of lying to me, had said that she was just laughing from nervousness and it wasn’t that she found my pain to be funny, this I would totally understand. Not the case here; her first instinct was to lie and invalidate my astute observation.

Moving on from this insult upon my injury, I again informed them that the yellow biteplate is too big and has now cut the same place in my mouth thrice; also, it will not be placed into my mouth again. Ultimately she decides to hold the black component of the xray guide in my mouth without the biteplate, which is a decent solution, except that she kept trying to press THAT hard plastic rectangle right directly on my new wound. When she sees me trying to protect the injury that now she was aggravating, she told me to “stop fighting her with my tongue”, and started talking down to me as if I were a scared child at the dentist “Oh it’s ok, sometimes people are nervous at the dentist.” Of course, I am not a child, and I was not scared, I was literally protecting this wound from her, and I informed her of the latter (again).

They do manage to get a couple of xrays this way, which had the laughing woman shown respect and professionalism, I would have said they’d been very impressive with this adaptation. However, the laughing woman went to my other side and, while looking 180 degrees in the other direction at the moment, grabbed for the xray machine to pull it, and because she was not looking in the direction of her hands, grabbed a chunk of my hair and pulled it along with the one handle of the xray. And then she laughed when she noticed that she did this. So if we have a scorecard thus far, our tally by this point is injury, injury, injury, insult (the laughing), insult (the lying), injury, and insult (more laughing).

All within the initial stage of xraying. I still have that welt three days later, by the way. That circus ended and ** takes me to a room where she and another hygienist(?) check the usual aspects of the teeth and gums, and do so WONDERFULLY. The Dr. comes in and does his exam, nice guy, makes total sense, absolutely knows what he is doing. Another A+. I cannot express enough how wonderfully everyone worked during these tasks, and with great gentleness and kindness. I thought OK, this visit is turned around to a sunnier path now.

Alas. Thirty seconds later a different woman in scrubs came to the room I was in to tell me that they did not know if my dental insurance would cover a cleaning. “How can this be,” I asked, “I gave the insurance information when I called in six months ago making this very appointment.” She told me that corporate does not give their office insurance information. Then she told me that here at the office, they did not know that I had come today for a cleaning. Weird, when making the appointment, the person on the phone asked Reason for visit, to which I’d replied, “standard six-month cleaning”. This was also on the paperwork I filled in when I’d arrived on Monday.

Her rebuttal was that “well maybe corporate worded the visit purpose to you in a way that you didn’t understand it.” OK, sounds a bit like yet another insult to my intelligence since I’d arrived here, so I corrected her with the fact that, “No, when I called and made the appointment, I told THEM that I was scheduling a cleaning, so there was no opportunity for ME to not understand what the visit reason was going to be. I determined the visit reason. It was my idea.”

After a pause, she put up a straw man about their systems having been “down two weeks ago and we are playing catch-up”. Completely à propos, although I have since confirmed through brief research that their systems were down (hacked, in fact, which would have been nice to been told as a patient who now has records there, yet I was not told this; the timeline also does not match up); what I fail to understand here is why was this not the initial “reason” for “not knowing why I was there”?

Well the ultimate point comes around that the office is giving me the option of “having my teeth cleaned now and paying whatever you owe when we figure it out” versus “rescheduling an appointment for a later date here FOR A TEETH CLEANING.” Fifteen seconds passed wherein I reflexively was trying to ponder the absolute madness that had just occurred, then the young lady who had helped me earlier with learning about xray costs came in and told me, I got through and your cleaning is covered by your insurance, $26 if you want some fluoride. Again, I cannot praise her enough, she is so helpful and very together. I have so much gratitude for her.

** did the cleaning for me and did it wonderfully – a quality, detailed clean but very, very gentle in the process. For this aspect of the work I have a world of gratitude and admiration for her. And so I thought the whole debacle would at least end on a positive note. Well, after the cleaning, Kristy asked me to schedule my next six month cleaning, which would hit somewhere around 5 December. I told her that right now is too early for me to schedule this appointment (what I did not tell her is that I was at the moment on the fence about ever returning, my plan was to give it a few days to see if I simmer down from the injuries and disrespects so that I’d be willing to come back to the same dentistry in six months).

I was seriously considering coming back but right then was not the time, so I simply said that I would schedule closer to the date, probably in November. She asked me a second time to, at that very moment, pick a date and time to come back. I again said NO and repeated that I would arrange the next appointment later, but with timeliness. She asked me a third time, OK but what date and time would you like to have your next appointment, to which I replied a third time NO, I will NOT be making any appointment right this moment, and if or when I choose to make a next appointment with this company, I will call the company myself to make the appointment. She said, "OK, I’ll just give you a contact card with a reminder of around what date a next cleaning would be, and you can call us."

This I thought was very nice of her to supply me with this card, believe me these cards are priceless. Give me the opportunity and I will forget these details sans carte. So although one NO is enough, and two NOs are more than enough, and to persist is disrespectful, ** still did several nice things for me, as well as the Dr., the lady who handles things like insurance and finances, and the intake lady. I told myself OK, of course I’m am absolutely disgusted at being injured several times, not being listened to, being laughed at, being lied to, and the overall machine of this particular business not having their act together to a degree which I have never seen at any dentist office across the five states I’ve lived in. That is true, I told myself, but give

Dentures promises not kept. Where to begin? Staff is friendly for sure but needs to not lie because they cannot remember what lie they have said to whom. Was promised printed dentures that would fit like a glove & from day one they have not fit. Nor has anything been done to correct. Told to lick my lips then swallow. This do not correct the issue!!!! Was charged for printed & not given printed. With no reason why & no refund. Was in that office way way too many times.

Given temporary dentures with bubble gum colored gums. Was given someone else's dentures. Temporary upper broke when I bit a sweet pickle so I had no teeth for a while. (Not to mention the Temps were late.) Oh, within 3 months or so they turned dark dark brown & pitted. They 'buffed them yet here I am fighting staining every day!!!! It's a losing battle. No I do not drink coffee or tea. Feel like the 9k paid was highway robbery & should get half that money back!!!! (Burleson Texas) Date of experience: June 08, 2022

In August of 2022, I lost my front tooth while eating, it happen on a weekend and my regular dentist was closed. I agreed to an implant for my front tooth with the office manager, however, while sitting in the chair, I was approached by the owner of that facility and was informed that he found a problem with the tooth next to the problem tooth even though I had never had a problem with that tooth, he assured me that my face would not lose bone with this procedure and that it was just like implants, but less costly. I trusted this professional dentist who knew better than I did that they could give me a permanent bridge by extracting the front tooth that was left and shaving down the remaining two teeth on each side. They charged my insurance and care credit account for thousands of dollars and proceeded to destroy my front teeth. They put a temporary denture in and told me they would install the permanent bridge within 6 weeks.

I was given several monthly appointments and went in several times looking for help without success. In December I was informed that because of the holidays, someone would call me in January of 2023. I didn't receive a call in January. In the meantime I was experiencing nerve pain when eating, or drinking hot or cold drinks. My sinuses were draining all of the time, and whenever I ate there was a cardboard feel, I had a terrible overbite and the bridge looked like a horse's teeth, I experienced loss of facial mass, facial features changed, and feeling and look of false teeth, I suffer with severe depression and only go out when it's mandatory. I can only eat soft food. On 03/03/23, I tried emailing them and received an automated reply email, on 03/16/23, I received an appointment email confirmation for 03/17/2023.

When I arrived I met with the office manager and she promised to fix my problem, which by this time included severe pain and headaches. I informed them that I had an attorney on speed dial if they continue to refuse to help me. I informed them that since they had totally screwed up my original teeth that I wanted implants across the front. They agreed and made the appointment for 03/27/23 because they need a 2-hour block for the implants. I have prescribed 3 bottles of ** 2% solution for pain. When I arrived for the implant procedure, I saw that the owner had returned from vacation, I assumed he had approved the implants at their expense and was surprised when my dentist came in and informed me that I wasn't getting implants and that they had not promised me implants.

I had taken Halcion 15 minutes earlier and didn't understand what or why she was saying no implants, the next thing I remember was the assistant and my husband taking me out the back door. My husband informed me later that they were finished with me in less than 20 minutes, when he inquired about the 2 hours he expected to wait he was not given an explanation. Today is May 12th and I have not received a follow-up appointment or call. By the way, I found out that my dentist went on maternity leave shortly after my initial procedure and that's the reason I was put on hold all those months. I'm still suffering as I'm realizing that Aspen Dental is a scam facility.

Establishing dental care at a new facility. Called Aspen Dental (124th and Capitol Dr) giving verbal authorization to transfer my records to new dental facility. Aspen Dental states "their system has been down for 3 weeks and not able to provide previous dental records. System should be up and running by end of 5/12/2023. Patients are given new xrays etc until system runs again." Not professional for a business to not keep a record of dental work done. Is this even legal?
