I broke a tooth Friday evening and was not able to see my family dentist Monday but was able to make an appointment at Aspen right away. I was shuffled into an X-ray room without being asked why I was there or anything. I have a very small mouth and bad gag reflex and let the the tech know. She proceeded to scold me over and over and told me I'm worse than a child (I'm 40 years old). She was so rough with the thing that you hold in your mouth that by the time I was done, I was literally crying.
Next I was taken into a room where a dentist came in and asked me about my pain in my left side and proceeded to tell me I needed a deep cleaning, two root canals with crowns and a tooth extraction. She tried to leave the room but I stopped her because I had a piece of broken tooth wiggling in my mouth. She told me to take ** and left. A hygienist came in next and proceeded to do some fun measurements on me and told me I needed some special treatment before and work could be done.
Next the office manager came in and told me that with insurance I would only owe $6,000 for everything. I repeatedly said I had a family dentist and I was only there for an emergency. She repeatedly told me I should do my cleaning that day because the hygienist was off the rest of the year. Thank goodness I adamantly refused because I'm seeing now they charge thousands for cleanings. By the time I left, my gums were inflamed from the x-rays, I owed $700 because they did a type of x-ray not covered by insurance and charged me for the "treatment plan." Today my gums are so sore I can barely eat without pain. I will never step foot in an Aspen again and I'll make sure no one I care about ever does!

Aspen Dental Happy Vally OR, referred me to Aspen Dental Springfield OR. As a hospital phlebotomist and my wife as a nurse working in critical care, we understand the vital importance of patient care and effective communication in a medical setting. Unfortunately, our recent experience at Aspen Dental of Springfield in Oregon fell far short of these standards. We pre-paid for a molar extraction procedure due to significant pain I was experiencing. Upon arrival, I submitted all necessary paperwork and communicated my anxiety about the procedure to the staff, who assured me that my concerns would be addressed.
However, when the oral surgeon entered the room, he began to prepare my arm for an IV without my consent. I had specifically requested that the medical assistant place the IV in my largest vein, as I have scar tissue from frequent blood draws for my thyroid condition. When I politely reiterated my preference, the surgeon responded dismissively, repeatedly stating, "Don't tell me how to do my job." This lack of communication and respect made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe.
Despite my visible distress, he continued to mock my concerns. I requested to speak with the office manager, but her response was equally unprofessional; she showed little empathy and failed to provide the support I needed during a difficult moment. Ultimately, I asked for a refund, which was handled poorly and without the necessary professionalism. The manager struggled to process my request and provided me with a note that lacked confirmation details.
Given our backgrounds in healthcare, we were profoundly disappointed by the lack of patient-centered care at this office. I cannot recommend Aspen Dental, especially for vulnerable populations such as children or the elderly. It is concerning to consider how patients who may not be able to advocate for themselves are treated here. We urge others to seek dental care elsewhere.

Dr ** and Holly were fabulous!! I had an abscessed tooth and they took it out and made a bridge. I worked in dentistry for 38 years before I retired and they knew exactly what they were doing. They were very efficient and I felt no pain during the entire procedure. I would highly recommend them to anyone! Everyone was just very nice there.

I visited Aspen Dental and was thoroughly impressed with the hygienist and dentist. However, regardless of how personable they are, I cannot tolerate being lied to directly. The first time I visited, I did not have dental insurance and knew that it was going to cost me. I took out a loan and they did the work. However, a year later I went back to get the work that I still needed done and let them know that I now have insurance and asked if they were in my network. They told me that they were in my network (Delta Dental PPO). However, I started receiving messages about owing them money and decided to call my insurance because this couldn't be right as I had $1,500 through my insurance and an additional $2,200 of care credit that should have covered the work.
My insurance informed me that they lied and were not in the network, which is why they are charging me so much. But they even go a step further in their lie. I went into the office today and got a printout of what was owed and has already been paid. On this printout, there is a category for in-network discounts where it shows some discounts that I have been given. Nothing significant, but it made me believe that they were in my network like they said and that my insurance had to be messing up. It turns out, no, they are completely lying and doing this to fool people. I am sharing this because I do not want it to happen to anyone else. I will not be returning to aspen dental and will be looking for a new facility with integrity. I do not blame the specific dentists as they work for a corporation where they have to follow the policies set but I think that it would benefit them to look elsewhere for employment.

Took my daughter in. They found dozens of cavities that needed fillings. Was pushed into scheduling immediately. After 1 visit I used a pair of tweezers to pull a wood splinter out of her gums. When I called about it the only answer got was, "Woops." The next day 2 scabs formed on her chin that have now turned into scars. No idea how. And while they can't explain how either happened they sure are good at explaining how their original quote was wrong and I owe them hundreds more. I took my daughter to a new dentist, a reputable one, and I was told most of the so called cavities were superficial and didn't need work.

They try to find me financing for months!! Nothing!! I tell them just let me get a set of cheap dentures advertised at $399 an arch. Hello, please accept this note as a formal complaint towards Aspen Dental in Sebring Florida Highlands County. I called Aspen to make an appointment for a "free checkup". When I made the appointment I explained to the phone representative that I only want what is free and no others charges. The representative assured me that this was a "free exam" and that no charges would be incurred. So after hearing that i agreed to the "free exam" it was supposed to be complimentary. Now in December I am receiving bills and being talked to in a threatening manner about paying a balance on my bill that I now owe there at the office. I was also told that if I do not pay that they will report this to the credit bureau and it will ruin my credit. I have worked very hard to get my credit where it is today.
I am very upset and feel this is a very deceptive practice. After this happened I researched the internet and found that Aspen Dental has several states of charging people in the same manner and have lost lawsuits for the same thing. Here are two websites that will show of their faulty business practices although there are many. ** Buyer beware there are several lawsuits filed against Aspen Dental for fraudulent business practices and deception.

Went to Aspen in Cranberry Pa for a toothache. After sitting in waiting room for 45 minutes I finally went back. Took like 100 (exaggerated) X-rays. Dr came in and said everything looked good but I needed some sort of special cleaning. Went back into financial person’s office and this “special” cleaning was going to cost $2300 which I was responsible for $800 after insurance. Said no thanks and walked out. I had my teeth extracted for dentures. There are still pieces of broken bits of teeth in my jaw and palate. The healing dentures fit well, but as my gums shrank I had to have relines. When my permanent teeth arrived they didn't fit correctly. The dentist refused to remake them so they fit. The dentist ground on them to the point my dentures wouldn't stay in my mouth. I was yelled at and told it was my fault the dentures were not fitting. I was told it was like shoes, get used to it. Never go to these people, once they have your money the experience changes.

I live close to Aspen Dental at 3397 Princeton Road Fairfield Township Ohio. I seen TV advertising how good they are, so I called and got a appointment for today 12-12-24. I arrived there on time, filled out all paperwork, informed them I was a Veteran with no insurance and paid cash upfront. I sit there for 1 hour and 45 minutes and seen them take 6 people in front of me with insurance and left me sitting there. After 1 hour 45 minutes I informed them I could not sit there any longer that said sorry, so I left. It is a shame they treat Veterans or anyone this way. They need to put up a sign that Veterans are not welcome.

I don't think I've had that many x-rays in my whole life combined. The billing practices are awful. You get sat down with the billing persons and go over your insurance coverage. I was told what was covered and what was out of pocket and payments due upon your visit. I left with a ZERO balance and magically hundreds of dollars in bills start appearing a year or more later. It happened with every one of my family members even in different states. I would NOT recommend going to Aspen Dental anywhere.

I needed a new dentist and went here. What a scam. They insist me and my wife need scalings done instead of regular cleanings, which cost over 2 grand for each of us. it was very car salesman like there. They said they would do this cleaning and give us a toothbrush, which, when looking at the bill they had added $135 for an electric brush, that I told them I already had. I decided not to do the scaling because we can't afford it, I called to ask if I can just get a cleaning, which insurance will pay for as well. They said no. They won't do that. My wife and I have had extensive work done at Aspen Dental, Meadville, PA. The actual dental work was great, great staff and Dr. ** is top notch. But the billing is a different story. We had dental plan contracts which we paid for upfront. But soon after additional billing started coming....huge amounts. Tried to contact billing via phone number on bill, was on hold forever. When finally connected, the usual billers were lost in space, insisted we owed a lot in addition to contract amounts. We continued to get more bills. So, here's some help for anyone in same situation. First, best number for customer service 844-296-4848. If that doesn't get the problem resolved, request your case be escalated to aspen special billing team. Keep insisting on that. If you signed a contract, insist they adhere to that, no excuses about insurance snafus. Good Luck!

I said I only wanted a estimate on the tooth for the price this is silly. She looks in my mouth for 2 seconds. "Yes I can fix that." I sit down with the billing. Twice as much as my local dentist. Later I get a bill for the inspection!!! I will just dispute it on my credit. DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME 2400 WHEN MY LOCAL DENTIST WAS 1200. Scheduled a consult appointment and they got me in within a few days which was great! I have severe dental anxiety and was told by the scheduler that they are very compassionate and could accommodate me. Therefore, I felt very at ease with scheduling so quickly. I drove an hour to my appointment only to find out it had been cancelled. No missed calls from them to confirm, no voicemails from them to confirm either. You see, they have a policy that new patients have to verbally confirm their appointments. The scheduler did not pass along this information to me, nor is it anywhere on their website.
I received an email that had a spot to confirm appointment, but when clicked it said there was an error. I thought their website was just having issues and continued about my day. Tried again, still and error. However, I was supposed to call to confirm the appointment. Once told my appointment had been cancelled and someone had already filled my spot, I could sit and wait until someone no showed and they could get me worked in. I could have sat there for hours waiting on a new patient to no show. The staff had no empathy, no compassion. Just repeated their policy of confirming appointments like reading a script that is said to patients every day all day, Like a broken record. I was clearly upset and they did not care. I would not recommend this place to anyone that has any type of anxiety.

They said they couldn’t get me in for another week, meanwhile my face is swollen and I’m in pain. I got antibiotics from my primary care doctor. A few months later I went back in because the tooth was still bothering me. The X-ray showed that my roots were severely damaged due to the filling going too deep. So now I’m told the tooth needs to be removed and I’ll need to get an implant since it’s near the front of my mouth. I had a horrible experience with Aspen Dental in Latham, NY. They were provided my insurance information a week in advance and inquired with them over the phone if the authorization through insurance went through and they stated yes, no co-pay. Keep in mind on their website they advertise they accept my insurance as well. I arrive at my appointment early to check-in and they advised me that my insurance is not active so make me call myself while I have a line of people behind me just to confirm my insurance was active. Then they stated I lost my appointment slot as it was getting later and then proceed to have me wait for a later time just to tell me they don't take my insurance and will have to pay a 250 payment for my visit. All of this could have been handled over the phone days prior.
I drove over an hour to get there and took a half a day off at work to be given the runaround. This place is very unprofessional, and they lack courtesy, common sense and empathy. The lady behind the front desk with the chipped nail polish was laughing as if it was funny. Well, the last laugh is I went elsewhere, and they will probably do a better job and be more professional. I not only will never return but I will recommend others go elsewhere.

I was having a difficult time finding a dentist after Covid since my regular dentist stopped taking my insurance. I rolled the dice, and went to Aspen Dental. The only time I can remember the “same sales pitch” was when I bought a new car and they send you to the “finance” guy. Only this time it was a finance woman. She quoted me an astounding $9000 for the treatment they determined I needed. I don’t argue that I needed to see a dentist, mainly for a deep cleaning, but this was unreal. They told me I have periodontal disease, I don’t. I declined treatment and she quickly brought the quote down to $2000+. I still didn’t accept. She finally brought it under $600 and I accepted foolishly and went to regret it. I did a crown replacement and a cleaning. My cleaning was over $300.00 and my dental insurance apparently would not cover their “deep cleaning”.
After making another $125 payment under the distant pacing watch of the same finance manager, (she seemed to be everywhere money was being handed over) they scheduled me for a follow up where I would be charged AGAIN. I cancelled my next appointment but actually was curious after I spoke with their “manager” and told them I did not like all the additional charges. They would not let me make a new appointment, nor did I want to. I hope this place gets the notice of the NMAG’s office before others go through the same awful process. This place functions solely under the love of the $$$. They must have a very high overhead and a lousy financial approach in dealing with new patients.

I was in contact with your Lockport location and was given a "fill in" office manager regarding an issue yesterday at your Lockport NY location. I had made an appointment a couple weeks ago for 11-4-2024 at 4 pm. I was contacted by the office on Friday 11-1-2024 at 12:08 pm and the call was 2 in and 36 sec long where the girl on the phone look my insurance information and confirmed everything for my Monday appointment. I received a text on Thursday at 12:07 pm to confirm my appointment. I also got a text message on Sunday at 1:02pm telling me about my appointment at 4pm Monday.
I arrived at 3:50 for my 4pm appointment and was told by the girl at the desk that my appointment was cancelled because my phone number wasn't any good and they couldn't get a hold of me. I told the girl I talked to someone on Friday and I showed her the call on my phone as well as the text message and she said, "Well there is nothing that can be done. It won't allow me to put the appointment back in." I was told they could schedule me for another day. I explained I had to take time off for this one and it took me 2 weeks to get that time off and I'm losing money because I had to take off. She was rude and said there is nothing I can do.
I called and got a fill in manager today and she was able to tell me they talked to me by the notes on the page and they had my insurance information in there. So I'm curious how you can treat a new patient like that. I have waited weeks to get my insurance and get the appointment and now I have to wait longer in pain to get in somewhere else. This is unacceptable and should NEVER happen to anyone. I was told the girl today couldn't do much and I could talk to Aiden when he gets back from vacation.
This is not an acceptable way to run a business, The way it was handled by the girl at the counter was horrible. I'm not sure if they wanted to go home or what but this should not happen. I caught the girl on the counter in 3 lies while I was there so something was not right. I made the appointment at your location in Lockport because it was closer to work so I didn't have to miss so much time.
I will continue to express this HORRIBLE experience all over with as many people as I can. I lost 120.00 in pay yesterday having to leave not to mention the inconvenience of driving there and being treated so poorly. In talking with others this is not the first time this has happened at this location. So now I'm not only out all the time and money I am in horrible pain and have to restart somewhere else. I am DISGUSTED with how I was treated. This was the email I sent to the Regional Jessica ** and here is the classic blow off response. "Hi Kevin, I apologize for this negative experience in the Lockport office. I will follow up with the office and provide the appropriate coaching to the staff around what a new patient experience should look like. I recently visited Aspen Dental (Chelmsford, MA) and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The main issue I encountered was the significant markup on services that simply do not justify the high prices. For instance, they tried to add an electric toothbrush to my total bill that cost $120 (stopped them from charging instantly), and some toothpaste-liked substances branded in fancy names (Topical Fluoride Varnish) for $54, seemingly just to maximize their claim from my Delta PPO dental insurance and, on top of that, charge me more out of pocket. So the total bill of the deep cleaning they CLAIMED is $3658, and my out-of-pocket fee is $1852.
The service itself was mediocre at best. The staff did not take the time to explain procedures thoroughly, and despite undergoing a deep cleaning, my gums continued to swell afterward. I’ve received dental care in Hong Kong, where the prices were a fraction of what I paid here—around 1/10—and the quality of service was vastly superior - no matter in terms of equipment and skills - they were top-notched. And I just don't see any of those here in this Chelmsford, MA branch. I do not recommend Aspen Dental to anyone. It feels like a profit-driven organization that prioritizes its financial gain over patient well-being and health. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of care and consideration for customers. Save your time and money and seek dental care elsewhere.

I went back multiple times to find the Mount Prospect office became a revolving door of dentist After a couple of visits one of the dentists was able to screw it back in correctly (he stated it had not been install correctly, the cap protecting the screw was not install. With a couple of months the implant became loose again. Now the office told me they did not do implants there anymore and I had to go to another one. I did so and they tighten the screen again.
Finally 2 months ago, I again complained of it being loose. Got the same run around and they even told me they could not touch it because they did not do it. I pushed back so they told me they would set up an appointment in another office, while waiting for them to get back to me it finally broke off. Now the latest is they don't use or support the hardware used for my implant. Now I have a broken implant which will require having the anchor in my jaw removed before getting a new one and all at my expense. DO NOT TRUST them. They sold me the implant, collected the money and now are washing their hands.

I went through the process of getting new dentures through Aspen Dental and the overall experience the people were super nice but the end result my dentures did not fit my face at all. I have had them 13 months and they have basically shattered in about five different places. I've only been able to eat mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, soft foods for over a year now. My first set of dentures came from Affordable Dentures and I had at the time due to financial reasons had to get the economy ones which was the cheapest that they offered and they actually lasted me 8 to 9 years and they never had any issues out of them other than a domestic violence situation where I got had gotten hit in the mouth and it actually broke my teeth so that's what led me to go to Aspen Dental to get a new set and to say I was unhappy is putting it mildly.
It has caused me to be depressed. I don't want to leave home. I'm ashamed of my smile now and it's just very disheartening and of course being on fixed income it's hard to save up to get a new set. You know a little over a year after I just purchased the set that I have so I just think that that's something that people should really consider before spending so much money on something and expecting high quality stuff when it's definitely not high quality stuff. As you can see in the photo the bottom teeth you can see where they broke in half and that's one of many breaks.

This place is a scam. My insurance is Medicare Advantage, which has a little bit of dental and a little vision, so I thought it was the right pick for insurance coverage. Medicare Advantage doesn't let you pay out of pocket, and the dentist will get into trouble if they see someone that has Medicare Advantage. When I looked at doctor's offices that take Medicare Advantage the only one in town was Aspen Dental. My original dentist(who is a family dentist that I trusted), stopped taking Medicare Advantage because it was so hard to get the money from Medicare Advantage. I went to Aspen dental, one of my front teeth is a crown and it's breaking. I know I need it replaced. They wanted to replace it with an implant, which probably is what it needs.
They also want to replace all of my upper teeth with implants, my teeth are a little bit wiggly. They wanted to charge me $9,000 dollars just for the replacement of my front tooth. I spoke with the Aspen Dental person that sets up the payment plans. They rush you through the process because you're so emotional with what they just told you about what's wrong your teeth. She set me up with their in house Payment plan, which they will do for anyone that walks in the door. Bad credit? No problem. My credit is fine.
By the time she put in discounts and my insurance it came to about $5,000 which she put on a five year payment plan. Thank God it was the weekend. I had two days to think about it over the weekend. I don't have any bills that I'm paying off at this time. On Saturday I was in such a bad black mood because I set up this payment plan. I couldn't even get out of bed from the stress. They give you 5 days to cancel the contract. I canceled it on Monday. My mood changed to being totally happy. I'm switching to Original Medicare, which doesn't have any dental, but I can pay out of pocket. I'm going to see my regular dentist in January when I change my policy. My front tooth is probably going to break before then, but I'm going to wait and look horrible until January and pay out of pocket. Don't be fooled. All they want is money, and they don't care how they do it. I would give them no stars, but I want people to get see this review.

Aspen Dental is one of the many, many examples of how Idiocracy has become a documentary. Trash on the floor. Argumentative, aggressive. Didn't even apologize for ramming a x-ray tool down my throat and badly hurting my infected tooth, TWICE. Dentist "office" looked like a food service building had been refurbished. Updated on 06/22/2025: This place is a rip off. Some years ago they took my money. Messed up my mouth. Try to get resolution for it and did not receive. Years later they sent me a bill. I went to the office in Bluffton South Carolina. The office manager and myself found the bill saying zero balance. Before that someone who used to work in the office told me that the office manager before this one in the dentist was stealing money. They were building people credit cards the ones that had zero balance so we weren't receiving a bill so all of a sudden years later I receive a bill telling me I owe over $2,000. The good thing I keep my receipts. Try to get in touch with the regional manager. Never returned a phone call.
Saw a couple of days ago I went to check on my credit report. They got me on Aspen Dental but they have it under the doctor's name not the company name so the only choice that I have is to speak to a lawyer to see what would be the best solution, I believe I can file a small claims action suit but I will see what the lawyers will advise me to do, those folks in that office Aspen Dental in Bluffton South Carolina is so unprofessional just outright ** that even when you call the office they say, "Hello" and I pause and said, "Is this Aspen Dental?" and they said, "Yes!". This is a horrible practice. Now I'm not saying all Aspen dentist office is like this but I'm saying the one in Bluffton South Carolina is horrible, they put a false report on my credit and I will fight them teeth and nail.
I am giving them two months to remove this off of my report. I have no choice to take legal action and I'm going to continue to report this matter to anyone that has a review. No one should have to go through what I went through. They get zero star but because you have to give something that's the only way this is going to go through but just remember a big fat zero.
Original Review: This is my experience maybe a little over. 2 years ago I decided to get work done on my teeth. Horrible. horrible experience. Not only did the doctor mess my teeth up, the crown kept coming off and they wanted to tell me this was normal and for me to live with it. I got in touch with there general or district Manager, her name is Genise. I will say that she did handle the first situation by reimbursing the fee and having the second work done. I believe that the second work was done at the expense of the company because that what I was told by the office manager who I can say turn out to be a thief.
When I called in a couple of weeks ago to get my partial they told me I had a bill of $2,300. I paid every dime that I owe them. When we did the paperwork it was proven. The office manager at the time was reversing the charge but mine. I paid the cost on my credit card so that mean she was steal and I was still paying the money off on my credit card and they want me to pay $1,600 for my partial when I was telling them, "I don't owe you guys anything. You owe me. I shouldn't have to pay a dime on my partial." The new office manager very sweet lady. Extremely respectful. I felt was sympathetic for me but I'm constantly calling the district manager. no phone call, no nothing. Only thing was told by me by the office manager. They going to look into it and get it correct? That's all she can do, but is it fair to me? And the answer is no.
If the district manager will at least call and reaffirm me of looking into the matter, I probably would have felt better, but she's not doing that. My first impression of her when this first happened. Okay. Someone listen to me but now how you not call the person that have this extreme call that you know they done wrong to. I know I have to take legal action and anyone that knows me. No that's my only option because I can't let this go. I'm losing sleep because of this. It is so disturbing to me because I work hard for what I want and to have someone to literally destroy my mouth.
The first set of partial that I had it was too small. It kept popping out my mouth. I did complain. Did this send off for another one? I got that one. It just seemed like it just wasn't right. I could never eat on it. It just had hurt my mouth so I took it out 2 months later. That was a ramp. They could never get it right. Yes, I probably waited too long. That's because I was looking at other options, but will I tell another human being or will I advise anyone to go to Aspen Dental in Bluffton, South Carolina for the grace of God? No!!!!
In order for this message to go through you have to give it some type of star but it's only one but it's a no star for me. I'm only doing it because that's the only way this can go through but everyone that they have done wrong. If you guys don't want to take a class action suit, I'll do this with the grace of God because I have no choice. I have to get some type of satisfaction out of this so even if I just get enough money to get my partial I'm fine with that. Adios amigo but I have to take some type of legal action because no one is calling me or satisfied my need. So until then I'll go on thing that will post Aspen dental and continue to tell my story even if I got to call WTOC but I have to do something, Yes I'm doing run on sentences because I'm voice texting and I'm not going to proofread.
Went back this Monday because the dental hygienist told me I needed to come in for them to take some exam before they can clean. My teeth goes into the office. Dental hygienist is off that day. Asked me why I'm there and I have the evidence on that of my appointment. The receptionist say, "Let me go find out why you're in here because we do have you scheduled 20-30 minutes later." Still no answer so I walked out the office. Just horrible.

Aspen Dental is the worst dental office I have ever been to. I went into their new office in Frederick, MD, for a regular teeth cleaning, and they told me I had to do a deep cleaning and root scaling procedure instead. They took me to a separate office and sat me in front of an office representative who said I needed that procedure and tried to sell me other unnecessary procedures over $1000.
The representative even said they checked with my insurance and would cover it. I told them I needed more time, but I was told it was urgent and I needed to schedule my appointment for that day or the next day. They made me pay the copay upfront ($162) to secure the root scaling appointment. About a month after the procedure, I received a surprise bill from Aspen Dental for an additional $534.16. I immediately called the dental office billing department and they placed me on hold for hours. Then they told me my insurance refused to cover the bill, so they charged me for it.
I called my insurance, and they said the procedure wasn't covered and that Aspen Dental never contacted them to confirm coverage. I tried negotiating with the dental office and even shared my explanation of benefits, which showed that their fees were higher than the approved amount. The billing representative then said that Aspen only said my insurance MAY cover it - even though the treatment plan they provided before the procedure clearly stated my payment would be nominal, and the rest would be covered by my insurance. Aspen dental pricing needs to be regulated. They operate like a car dealership and will sell you anything, including unnecessary procedures, to make a profit.

Luckily, none were swallowed. After tooth #3, I tried to talk to the office manager or dentist. They sent the receptionist to tell me I must go back to Panama City Beach to complain. I called there, left a voice mail & never received a response. After tooth #5 fell out, I called the corporate office, explained the situation & was promptly disconnected. I have never heard of this and even tried googling it. There was no other options discussed like try to treat the infection first.
Went to the billing portion of it. Pulling all of my teeth and implants $23,000. When going through all the costs, they admitted they scan you on the extractions first then the implants. First off I am not working and secondly who in the heck has 23k right now in this economy. It was the push to sign up for loans on this, maxing my Aspen card and all of this hell for something quite honestly my gut instinct is saying this is wrong. The dentist even made a deal where he was willing to do it for $3k that was on my card. Oh hell no. I said I need time to think about this and paid the $29 and got the hell out of there. Guess what, I went back to the College where someday I may need a denture but guess what, it is not today and they will never touch my teeth again. In January 2024, I visited the Aspen Dental location at 2020 Gulf Freeway in Texas City, seeking treatment for tooth sensitivity and a broken crown. My experience with this office has been nothing short of distressing and unprofessional. Dentist Huy ** performed a crown preparation on what I later discovered was a perfectly healthy tooth, according to both my insurance and subsequent X-rays. I suspect this was done purely for financial gain. When I raised my concerns with the owner, Brian Tran, he dismissed them without addressing the core issue.
The office manager, Timna **, and the hygienist, Natalie **, claimed they performed a deep cleaning on both my upper and lower teeth. However, my insurance refused to cover this procedure, stating that it was done out of order. To add insult to injury, another dentist later informed me that no deep cleaning had actually been done on my teeth.
After experiencing significant pain with the permanent crown that Dr. ** placed, I returned to see Brian Tran. He attributed the pain to the crown not being filed down properly and irritating the gum. However, another dentist contradicted this explanation, asserting that the tooth itself was infected—likely due to the damage caused by Dr. **. I believe that Dr. ** actions led to this infection and that Brian Tran attempted to cover up the mistake. To make matters worse, Dr. ** did not complete all the work I paid for, yet Timna ** refused to refund me for the unfinished work. Instead, they sent me a $3,000 bill for procedures they claim were not covered by my insurance. When I contacted my insurance, they confirmed that Dr. ** had performed unnecessary crown preparation on a healthy tooth and that the hygienist, Natalie **, had not followed the correct protocol for the cleaning.
After months of effort, I finally obtained my dental records, only to discover that my signature had been forged on several consent forms. I have reported this incident to the Texas City Police, and it is currently under investigation. I began dealing with Aspen Dental about 2 1/2 years ago. It has been nothing but a horrible and disappointing experience. On my first visit I had several teeth extracted. Dentist could not get two teeth in front so she left them broken off and sticking out. I paid for the “best” they offer. Between my insurance and myself we have forked close to $7000. I had two implants in front on bottom and have to go every other week to have rings replaced. $55 per ring each time. I had to visit a dermatologist due to the cracks of my staying infected. He said the issue was coming from ill fitting dentist.
I now use a special medicine two times a day to control the infection My insurance was billed for services that were not performed. Insurance will handle that aspect of this whole mess. I have consulted with another dentist and learned implants were not installed completely and neither my upper or lower dentures fit mouth correctly. So I will pay this new dentist to fix what Aspen messed up. I usually do not write reviews but it is pretty embarrassing when your dentures fall out in class while teaching or while eating. I honestly would not recommend them to anyone. It is a money racket with horrific results. Please take advice from a patient who cried many, many days on the money spent and the results. Thank goodness I found someone who can make a new set. I will leave the old one out as a constant reminder how important it is to conduct your research before putting your trust in a place that has more negative reviews than positive.

After having a tooth distracted was told there would be no need for after pain treatment. Only an hour after leaving the office I started having severe pain. Called the office. Was told that someone would get back with me as soon as possible. An hour later I attempted to call again only to get the runaround and was told again that someone would reach out to me. After waiting 3 hours I called just before their scheduled closing time and was again told that the doctor was with a patient and would reach out to me as soon as possible. The after treatment care from Aspen Dental has got to be the worst that I have ever experienced. I would not treat a stray dog the way they treated me.

The Aspen Dental at Carle Place states on the website that they offer walk in appointments. They do not indicate that you must be 18 to get one of these appointments. After filling of all of the forms where they even ask for parent information, I got a call from one of the "helpful" staff members who told me that the dentist only sees adults. Isn't this something you could have indicated while filling out the appointment? Will not be using them in the future for any reason. Poor customer service.

After they tell me I need this elaborate cleaning because I have an infection. Didn't have the $$$ for cleaning in Jan. I finally get it scheduled. They sent me emails about my appointments, text me about my appts. Close to the appt date they send emails and numerous text about confirming my appt. I respond to them all. Day of appt at 8 am I get a call that they have to cancel my appt,. SO their time is so important that they are confirming many times that I will be there but let me know hours ahead that they have to cancel. So what about the time I took off work....NOT IMPRESSED. Called the customer care line on hold for 40 mins and still haven't talked to anyone. They want your $$$$ but don't want to talk to you. In 2018 I had dental implant surgery and received upper and lower dentures sequel to having all my lower teeth extracted. I have had trouble with my teeth from a young age and have been wearing a full upper plate for many years. After this operation I now had a full upper and lower denture. This procedure greatly improved my life. I began eating better and looking better felt more confident. I was very pleased with the outcome of this process. The folks at Aspen Dental were fantastic. By the latter half of 2019 one of the bicuspid teeth in the upper plate fell out. I took it back to Aspen and they repaired it. Since then a total of 4 different teeth has fallen out. Three of these I have repaired myself out of desperation and with no access to an Aspen office.
Yesterday, 8/12/24, I attended the Aspen Dental Office in Dawsonville and spoke with the management and the denture technician and explained that I felt this denture was defective. In all the 50 plus years I have had and upper denture I have never lost a tooth until this one. I received a string of excess from the dentist like I should be using a denture adhesive, and my bite is too strong. Their technician did her best to try to help and tried to convince me to go down a further repair route. They adamantly refused to release this denture. I am convinced that this denture was defective when it was made. I do not trust this device any longer and I am not afraid to eat things in public for fear of losing a tooth in the middle of a meal. I now have no choice but to go elsewhere then spend thousands of dollars procuring a new set of dentures. I feel like Aspen dental owes me a new denture.

Once a week you have to change the Invisalign but last year I was almost 2 months with the same tray and waiting for the next tray to arrive. I went through 3 Doctors, the first one like he didn't care. The second one told me I was done and couldn't get more trays and my bottom 3 front teeth still a little crooked and she didn't want for me to continue. I was upset because I wasn't satisfied with my results. I paid $5,000 for still crooked teeth. Then she says to scan my teeth for retainers in February 2024 and that it should arrive in 2 weeks.
May came around and still no retainers and they scanned my teeth again in May and still no retainers July 2024. I was so upset I said, "Forget it. I want my attachments off asap." Don't want to deal with them anymore. The third doctor took my attachments off and didn't polish my teeth to make sure everything was off, and I still had some pieces of attachments still on tooth so I'm done with this dentist. Probably because we wanted to see if we could just do lower denture implant to minimize the cost. The cost for everything to be done was really way more than any regular person can afford.

ASPEN DENTAL RAPID CITY, SD COMPLAINT. Historically I had not used Aspen Dental because of all the terrible reviews and things I have heard directly from previous patients. With that said, I gave your company the benefit of the doubt and set an appointment. Here is what went wrong as a first (never again) patient: I was very clear with the national appointment setting office about my wife and I needed a cleaning, they said there would need to be an exam and x-rays but all that could be done in 1 day. They promised because I really pushed them on this topic. And they said (and your website, insurance list states) there are 5 DDS at the Eglin Street Rapid City, SD location.
The scheduling (lack of DDS in your system), is terrible!!! I had to wait 3 months to get my initial appointment. This is way the public hates your company! 30 minutes (while we were enroute to the Egline Aspen office) before our appointments on 26 July at 1300 hours, my wife receives a text message stating our appointment has been cancelled and we will have to reschedule. I drove to said appointment anyway to understand the problem in-person. We stood at the front desk for 17 minutes while a female employee laughed and joked with someone in a rear room we could see. When said employee (later identified as Erika **, the office manager), saw us watching her she went inside the interior office and closed the door behind her.... Obviously not wanting to wait on us.
Then Erika came to the counter and she they were not taking any more appointments for that day. I told her we have been waiting 3 months, then she stated while we can do an exam/x-ray but the next cleaning appointment would be in October (SIX MONTHS FROM MY INITIAL CONTACT WITH ASPEN). I told her I was the customer and I was not satisfied with the situation and she told me I was arguing with her, then I told her she needs to do the RIGHT THING because I am a new customer and so far NOT impressed with ASPEN! She told me "well that's how it is, you can leave and go somewhere else but we are the only dental clinic in town that takes insurance". Also she could not explain why there was only 1 DDS at this location now, she wouldn't tell us why the other 4 dentists left this clinic. On the way out I told her that her customer service was terrible and we wouldn't be back.

Only well after I got home and anesthetic wore off. My mouth started hurting real bad and was throbbing my gums around that tooth he removed at the top even though I had one removed at the bottom also but that bottom extraction did not bother me. But omg that one big tooth that he removed from the top left he really used lots of force cutting on my gums as you can see in the photos I put in this review.
That was done friday the 5th of july. Well later that night I was crying, in lots of horrible pain. I called them that following tuesday because I could not close my mouth from so much pain and severe swelling. Mind you I told them in my paper work on my first appt I am a diabetic type 2. So anyway I called them that following Mon ask to see the dr. I told her I can't sleep, whole side my face is swollen and also inside my mouth around the extraction is also very swollen and it was purple black and I was crying on the phone in severe pain. I took ** together with two ** and a goody powder that did nothing. No dang relife at all and she told me there no dr there at all that day and no dr was coming in that I had to go to urgent care or the ER.
Well I did go to mcloads ER in Florence. My blood pressure was like 180/95. I been up all day all night crying in pain and swelling my cheek an my gums. I was there waiting 3 hours in waiting area crying in severe pain and they only gave me a stronger antibiotic and only 12.50 mg ** prescription an a ** 50 mg pill there I told them that not going to help. I'm hurting too much. All they would say is I needed to go see my dentist. Still I was in severe pain.
I leave er, go by aspen and again complained and informed the lady upfront my situation. I was crying begging for something for severe pain being they're the ones caused this problem. Oh yea and I paid 170$ they charged me that day for them 2 tooth extractions. How can a dr take a oath to help people with their teeth and not supposed to let a person be in pain like I am suffering. Even right now I'm still hurting. Well when I went in the aspen office after I left the er after I told her what was still going on again no dentist dr was there. I said well what are you ladies doing here if no dr. Why are they open. Then she said just taking phone calls hmmp that I could come back next day and I had to be there by 8 in the morning and be seen as a walk in so I had to go home suffering still and another sleepless night of excruciating pain and then want me to come back and sit there all day not even knowing how long and sit there and being in severe pain. Omg I'm going crazy.
I’ve literally grabbed my cheeks and pinching my face in desperation in pain. This is depressing and misery. I asked her why he can't call me something in for like a week's worth just enough to keep me out of pain while the antibiotics take away all this infection once infection gone my pain will be gone. She like oh no he has to look at you he dont just prescribe pain meds like that. Well meanwhile the hell with me my pain that if he would have gave me something to begin with I would have never gotten infection so they cause a problem and don't be there to see you to fix the mess they made.
I only have 6 more teeth left in bottom of my mouth but I promise I will not be going back there to aspen to get them removed. I already got me appt at another dentist and way more closer. In mean time I be going crazy in pain wished I had me some ** just enough for a few days. I really want some relief from my gums. I feel like he pinched the hell out my gums with some pliers and stabbed my gums with a knife. I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy. I crying even right now as I typing this review. I'm in so much pain and er won't give nothing no stronger. They make me feel like I'm a pill head only coming in for pain pills like I'm some kind of a addiction when it not even like that. I just want to get relief from this pain and I want my gums to hurry up and go down this swelling.
My er visit that was yesterday mind this is been since the 5th of july in severe pain idk what else to do but crying and I begging God to relieve my pain and heal my gums and take away this swelling which swelling since yesterday has gone down a little bit with the new antibiotics but this freaking pain it driving me crazy. I about to drink me something get dang drunk. I can’t take this pain. You can see my pictures I put on this review of my mouth and this pitcher I took yesterday evening once you see the picture you understand why I am in severe pain.

It's all smoke and mirrors until they get your money. It's a dentistry mill and not personal at all. They don't answer the phone or put you on forever hold, then their automated system takes over and hangs up on you. I got the Motto Clear Aligners and they were supposed to order me a new retainer because mine broke. That was over 6 weeks ago now and when I did chat with someone, they gave me a song and dance routine about their phone system being screwy, then it was the lady who orders it was out, etc. Try to contact their headquarters doesn't work either. You are diverted back to the local office. Better to find a local independent dentist than to work with them.

2 stars because I am a reasonable person, the service was great, I came in needing to remove my wisdom tooth and was able to get the service done within the same day. At the time I was waiting for my insurance and paid out pocket but was assured they would still be able to submit the claim to my insurance. This service was 1/26 it’s now 6/24 and the claim hasn’t even been processed by my insurance. The dental office did not submit the claim the first time, so in March I had to call them because my insurance claimed they never received the claim. When they finally put the claim through my insurance informed me they had sent Aspen Dental a letter letting them know that the providers information did not match and they needed to update it in their records but have not heard back.
So I called aspen dental to ask if they can update the information on the provider records so that they can process the claim, front desk lady told me claim had already been processed and that they actually got paid for the service so they will reimburse me to my original form of payment Sounds like everything is done?! 6/5 I called back because I got a refund for $115 from aspen dental.

Well it started off good then my last payment was made and was sent home with a set of dentures that was way too large for my mouth. I was told by the dentist that I should take them home and wear them and come back and let him know where the problem was. I said even though they're way too big for my mouth he said yes. I go home. I try wearing the teeth. Of course they are way too big for my mouth. This is the third set of teeth I've had so I should know. I tried showing them a set of teeth that I had that work perfect except for I broke the bottom plate. They looked at them and did nothing to make the new ones even close to those so I called to make an appointment and the girl said she would have to talk to the dentist first and then call me back and I waited for a week nobody called back. I assumed they were busy so I called back my second time. Left another message.
The girl said she'd have to talk to the dentist and see what they're going to do about my teeth and I called back a third time and I left a message twice in one day for them to call me. I never heard back so I waited a couple of weeks and then I called another store not far from me and I guess those two connecting nobody wanted to do my teeth. I go back to the one I went to in Marble Falls Texas. They ground grinded on the teeth for about an hour and a half, came back and told me they could not grind anymore so instead of making a new set and using a smaller form they did refund my money at no problem which I am happy about but I went there for a set of teeth and I felt like they were just trying to screw me over by not contacting me back, making me call another store and complaining to that manager so that she called the that other store and told them I wasn't happy.
Anyway I did get my money back. That's one thing that they do have is a guarantee but they are slightly Rude. The girl that tried to grind my teeth down. I don't know her name. She was really nice but the front desk are kind of slightly on a rude scale. Anyway I would find another place to go besides Aspen Dental and spend my money.

I went to Aspen Dental because I hadn’t been to the dentist in a year and I had moved to a new area. I had no cavities before, like none. They inspected my teeth and determined I had deep “pocket” problems that would require a deep cleaning and other extensive dental work to the tune of $2,800. I said I’ll have to think about it and their tone turned very threatening about how I was going to lose all my teeth by waiting. Please note that I only went in for a cleaning. I had no pain in my mouth and no troubles. I found a local dentist and went to see him and was told that my gums looked great. I had no cavities, and I certainly didn’t need a deep cleaning. All my “pockets” were fine. This place is a total scam.

Now my appointment is today and they never called me to reschedule, I called them to confirm my so and they said, "Oh we will have to reschedule, the doctor won’t be here." Keep in mind this doctor is only in office once a month! I already paid them almost 3000 dollars out of pocket, let alone what my insurance paid them, for a cleaning, no teeth pulling and now rescheduling surgery. I am going to get my money back and go elsewhere!

During in person appointments, it was very noticeable in the waiting room any one of color or appearing of a lower financial status she treated this way. Aspen Dental has incompetent office managers. I was going through an extraction, implant process after a deep cleaning. We paid the price because they were the only dentist that took my insurance that was ending soon. Paid half then the other half before my crown was to be installed on my crown install appointment they had tacked on an extra charge, I asked for what and received 3 different answers. Also, one service was to be charged to new insurance and still had old insurance listed with pending for insurance payment. I asked, "Why does this state my old insurance, not the new?" The answer was it's the same company. I knew I was talking to an incompetent person.
I left and they held my crown hostage for a $187 bill. Who pays for something that no one can explain. After 4 days of research and calling both insurance companies figured out the answer myself paid the 187. Getting a FedEx letter from them today. Probably banning me from using their company. I was never offered any discount or percentage off and honestly I was very understanding at that time that things happen and systems go down however to get a bill when I didn’t even complete the entire treatment (I still had some periodontal stuff that I didn’t do) when I should be getting a refund/credit for the part do the treatment that I have not completed. This started over a year ago. The account was paid in full. Now they are billing me for services. It’s disappointing that this company sold me some dream, took my money and instead of giving me a refund for services not rendered, not offering any type of retribution for the delay on their part, they are billing me because they misplaced my implants and the placement don’t work and I have to see the doctor for something that was not done accurate.

I would never suggest anyone to go to Aspen Dental. I have Medicare with the Aetna Advantage Plan. I was made to pay up front, I was also made to do the periodontal cleaning before they would do any work, insurance only covers basic cleaning, so the extra was totally out of pocket. Had some back teeth removed, two crowns, and a filling. It took four visits and everytime I was asked to put almost $1000 upfront before they would do anything. Went through all my insurance claims and they over billed me over $700. I called several times and could never talk to anyone who could help, went into the office physically twice and waited over an hour and finally just left. Reported them to the BBB and all of a sudden they refund me over $900. Two months later I get a bill from them, so I call and am told I have a $0 balance. Two weeks later I get a call that I owe over $1300, reported them to the BBB again, they told the BBB that the issue had been resolved.
Two weeks later I get a text to pay my bill, I called again and was told this is a true bill, why did they refund me to turn around and bill me more than the refund? So I reopened the inquiry to the BBB and called my insurance company and went over everything with them. We came to the conclusion that I owed $160, the rep from my insurance company put me on hold and called Aspen, it ended up having to be a three way call. The whole time the guy kept trying to tell us this was a true bill, put us on hold, came back and said he would have to send it to an insurance specialist and I would need to call back in a couple weeks. I visited Aspen Dental to explore the available options for receiving implant dentures. After careful consideration, I made the decision to purchase a full top denture and three implants for my bottom denture, at a total cost of $10,000. Unfortunately, after just over three years of use, my bottom denture broke into two pieces. Upon contacting the office where I obtained the denture, I was informed that the implants did not come with a warranty or money-back guarantee beyond 90 days, leaving me with limited options for repair or replacement.
Interestingly, the Aspen Dental website explicitly states that their implant denture is covered by a 7-year limited warranty and a Denture Money-back Guarantee. Had I been made aware of the lack of repair assistance after 90 days during the financing and purchasing process, I would have reconsidered my decision to engage in business with this establishment. It is important for them to recognize that false advertisement is illegal and should not be practiced.

If Aspen recommends full extractions, upper and lower, run, don't walk, to a legitimate dentist who does not make a profit from extracting all your teeth then providing you with full dentures. Specifically I am referring to the lowers, which were only problematic in the center front for me, not the entire lower plate. These lower dentures are extraordinarily difficult to chew with, and were not necessary. One entire side for me was previously a permanent bridge which was very expensive and unnecessarily removed.
In addition, the financing was also a problem for me. After consideration for my two insurances, I still owed $6800 which they said I could finance, interest free, for 18 months. The minimum monthly amount due was like $120, which in no way would end up paying $6500 so this seems unethical. In addition, after one of my visits they said, "just sign this" and I did, not knowing what I was signing for. It turned out they added another $550 to my bill, which the financing company would not remove because they had my signature on it. Therefore, you should ask and make sure what you are signing on those little blank signature blocks. They cover themselves by saying in the fine print "if there's anything we missed, you still will be charged for it." Thanks a lot.
While I do not dispute that I needed significant work, I don't think I needed $10,000 worth of work, which is what was charged to me considering my insurance. Also I am not pleased with my smile at all, because it looks completely fake and screams "dentures" to all who can see. In trying to get my dentures adjusted it took me two weeks to get an appointment, for a simple adjustment, during which time I was not able to use my new dentures at all. But I note they do take walk-ins. How is this fair? Use them only for a second opinion only after you have seen a real dentist. I wish I could rate lower than a 1.

I had my card out ready to prepay until he said this. I don’t prepay for a meal when I order. I do understand prepaying for crowns or work that requires a prep visit (or pay at the time of the prep work).
I called back and tried to schedule the cleaning and would even prepay as long as I never had to deal with Peter again but was told I needed to return to the office to schedule and prepay $40 (very inconvenient). I would like Dr ** to do the work but will never return to an office to prepay for work which requires me to go back a different day for the work. They have unethical billing practices, they overcharge and talk you into financing the amount that the insurance company won't pay. They say that the price of the work that is being done isn't covered completely under the insurance and you will need to pay the balance. When I didn't have all the work done they were supposed to let American First Financial know to remove the cost, they never did. They accepted the insurance payment and the balance I was left with according to the explanation of benefits was much less than I was told I needed to finance. I can't get them to refund the money to the finance company and when I called to complain to the finance company I was told they couldn't help me until Aspen refunded them and they refused to do anything else. They are still charging me monthly for money I don't owe.
During my first visit I was told I needed to have 4 teeth removed and had an abscess that was very large. They were suppose to remove the teeth and they gave me a sedative to be used the day of the extraction that didn't work. They scheduled an appointment for a month later to remove the teeth under general anesthesia, I had to wait an entire month, in pain and with an infection. When they removed the teeth they broke a tooth next to it, they never told me or my husband. The following Monday I called to ask what they were going to do about the broken tooth and I am still waiting to hear back, that was 2 weeks ago.
They don't call you to check how you are after the procedure, they do not even do a follow up appointment, but over billing and over charging seems to be something they are able to do very well. I have submitted a formal complaint to my insurance company and will use every means available to me to get this situation take care of. They have been overpaid for services that were done extremely poorly.

Why because I just received a call one day before that I am doing crown prep with the root canal. Did I agree to do this all in one day? No. I agreed to do 1 filling and root canal and the crown prep another day. They should be aware of what they are doing.. Should a customer feel rushed? Should a customer that’s paying be commanded to do this or should they be given an option, I think so too. p
People might say just sort it out but that the thing I am put in an uncomfortable posture where I have to confront them and tell them this but I already knew what I had to do prior!
