I am addressing both Macon and McDonough GA locations. The communication has been awful and as a result delayed my care. This is my first experience with Aspen dental. I don’t know why things are so disorganized but it does not promote confidence when a company can’t do the small things efficiently like make a phone call. Based on your reviews I do not think the company cares much, because the same issues still exist although reviewers address their concerns over and over. It leaves the impression that Aspen dental the company/ corporation just doesn’t care, which they make quite obvious by not correcting what reviewers write frequently.

Went to Aspen dental with a broken tooth. Had called before going and had an appointment. They told me they could remove my tooth which was a lie. I got there. Filled out paperwork and was taken to get an array of tooth xrays and single ones too then taken to a room to sit in a dental chair and had my teeth counted several times after that and discussing with the girl there that told me I'd have pain meds and antibiotics before I leave and another woman who works there who counted my teeth said I'd also see the hygienist also which I never saw. A guy who looked like a Dr came in. Looked in my mouth. Said that he recommend to have a root canal done and a crown after. I told him I wanted it removed but that never happened. No pain meds. Nothing. So was sent to a small room till financial came and got me.
I was given a estimate of over 7000.00 for a crown partials and a cleaning and to have 3 cavities filled. Was told I could finance through them which I refused. Was told the root canal would be over 3000.00 alone then another 3000.00 for the crown. On the paper I received the cleaning wpuld be over 1000.00 and partials over 3000.00. So in total I would have 15000.00 in charges for everything. I refused it all then was told they cannot do the work there and was referred to an oral surgeon. I paid 29.00 for my exam there and was told I'll have to pay for another exam at the oral surgeon's office even though they were sending over my xrays and told it would be over 500.00 or more to have it removed and I'd have to pay for the exam at the surgeon office of 150.00.
This is a bait and switch and high pressure sales and when you done agree they drop you.. I want my 29.00 reimbursed as well as the time and suffering I am still going through. This place needs to be investigated and the fraud they committed with me and I had a witness to this. I am going to be contacting an attorney as well as attorney general's office. They set a date for me to see this supposed oral surgeon but I am not holding my breath.

Absolutely horrible; they set me up to have 3 teeth extracted, one of which was a root canal, and 2 days later when I called in thriving pain I was told there is nothing they can do for me. I would not recommend these services to my worst enemy, absolutely horrible customer service and 0 empathy whatsoever.

I had a very frustrating experience with Aspen Dental. I called last Friday to schedule an appointment and was given a date and time for 11:00 AM today. I arranged transportation and paid for an Uber to get there. When I arrived, I was told that the person who scheduled my appointment actually booked me at a completely different Aspen Dental location, and the office I arrived at refused to see me. So I spent money on transportation and took time out of my day for an appointment that was scheduled incorrectly through no fault of my own. This was extremely inconvenient and unprofessional. If appointments are being scheduled through a central system, staff need to make sure patients are booked at the correct location, especially when people are arranging transportation to get there. Very disappointing experience.

Horrible. I had been going to Aspen Dental for 1 1/2 years, about 8 different appointments, including cleaning and x-rays, when I had pain in one tooth. Aspen Dental would not see me for 3 weeks, so I set an appointment with another dentist, and got an appointment for that same day. They found a huge cavity in my left lower wisdom tooth - somehow Aspen Dental had missed this huge visible cavity in their cleanings and x-rays. I had to have the tooth removed because the cavity was too big to fill. Aspen Dental is incompetent. Do NOT go to this place.

Aspen advertises low cost Dental work, which at the first invoice may reflect that cost. The problem starts with Aspen uses credit card, issued by Synchrony Bank. Which has a very high interest rate and if you pay the minimum payment amount, the bill just keeps going up. My wife went in because the crown cap came off, it was reinstalled only to come off again, again reinstalled and came off again. So the service provided was very poor and they didn't stand behind the work. Plus this even after paying for months the bill raised to $2000+.

I had porcelain caps put over my four front teeth 25 years ago. I was told recently by a dentist at Aspen Dental that one tooth that had a cap was bad and needed to be redone. (The upper rim of this tooth turned dark through the years because of a root canal that had been done on it after the porcelain cap was done.) Because I had some recession and my caps were old, I asked if all four of my caps could be redone so that they would all look alike. He said yes, but said the teeth would be longer since they would be covering the recession. I told him I was fine with that. But he said he would get a mold done, and then I could see how they looked with the longer appearance and get the prep work done.
When I came in to get the prep work done a different dentist was there. I looked at the mold, and the teeth didn't look any longer, and I was distracted by the fact that I had a different dentist because he didn't know what I had discussed with the other dentist. That dentist who did the prep work did a good job and told me that none of my teeth were bad (so I didn't need to get the caps redone after all but by this point it was too late). But when I had the temporary teeth put on, while the teeth went up to the gumline, I noticed that my teeth were shorter, which made my canines protrude and gave me a different smile. I told them I didn't want shorter teeth.
I wanted my teeth to come down to the original point that they were originally, while also extending up to the gum line. I had two appointments to get the caps put on but they said the caps weren't in yet. (I don't know why they didn't know that before I went to the office and was sent away.) But after showing up twice, they said they would just call me when the caps were in. When the caps came in, I got an appointment and had a different dentist from the previous two, along with a different dental assistant. My caps were put on. But I am not happy with them. The teeth do not fit tight to the gumline like the temporary ones did as I can still see the dark rim around the top of the tooth.
In addition, one of my middle teeth is longer than the other one. And one middle tooth hits my bottom tooth when I bite down. So, I am very disappointed with this whole experience. Aspen Dental says that they have leading technology for this type of dental work on TV. But I disagree. I feel like some amateurs did these caps. I spent over $4100 for these caps, and they didn't even need to be done in the first place because all of my teeth were viable. This was a total waste of money, as I now have one middle tooth longer than the other and a bite that doesn't work. I wish I had my old porcelain caps back.

I have not been able to get to the location because every appointment I make, they have cancelled. They are false advertising that they have open appointments online, once you schedule the appt they call you back and cancel it. The dentist leaves at 12pm but they have available appointments until 2:30pm.

I spent almost an hour providing all the information and setting up a same‑day appointment for 5:30 PM. I even told them I would try to get there earlier, but I had to pick up my daughter first. Then, about 10 minutes later, I got a call asking if I could come in right now. I explained again that I needed to pick up my daughter and drop her off, but that I would be there on time for my scheduled appointment. They said they needed to reschedule and that nothing was available after 4:30 PM. At that point, I told them to cancel everything. What a waste of time. This was specifically the Palm Harbor location. Honestly, I’m glad I didn’t go after reading the reviews—saved by the bell.

I went to Aspen Dental for a dentures consultation and walked out feeling like I’d just sat through a used-car sales pitch. I’ve had routine cleanings every 6 months for the past 7 years. Not once—ever—has my regular dentist told me I had periodontal disease. Suddenly, during Aspen’s “free” exam, I’m told I have bone loss and beginning periodontal disease, and that dentures aren’t the real solution.
Instead, they pivoted immediately to selling me:
• 3 crown bridges• Additional treatments
• A treatment plan totaling $14,367
No conservative options. No “wait and see.” No acknowledgment of my consistent dental history. Just pressure, fear-based language, and financing talk. The diagnosis felt conveniently timed to justify a massive upsell. If periodontal disease had truly been present, it would not have gone unnoticed for 7 years of regular care. Periodontal disease doesn’t magically appear overnight and suddenly require five-figure dentistry.
The entire experience felt corporate, rushed, and sales-driven, not patient-centered. I wasn’t treated like someone seeking care—I was treated like a revenue opportunity. If you’re a senior, on a fixed income, or coming in for dentures, be extremely cautious. Get a second opinion before agreeing to anything here. Dental care should be about health—not quotas.

I would not recommend!! My experience has been horrible as a new patient. First they cannot receive emails from previous dentist so x-rays can be forwarded. Are we not in the 21st Century?? Second, I was told that a full mouth x-ray would be covered by my insurance but they are only covered 1 out of 5 years. Office person looked up my info through MetLife and he said I was all set. Come to find out it was not covered and I had to call my insurance to find out why. Isn’t that Aspen’s job to know? He looked it up and misinformed me before the x-rays done.
I called their billing office from the bill I received 3 times. 2 times I was blind transferred to the Bangor office and was told I would get a call back. The 3rd time it was supposed to be an official request for a call back within 2 business days. I called on business day 3 and was informed I was responsible for the bill. So for their incompetence by not being able to receive emails and not returning calls or picking up the phone I am stuck paying a bill because it was beneficial for them to have the x-rays taken that first appointment intake review. I will never go back to Aspen Dental again and would strongly suggest no one else does either!!

Aspen Dental is a cash grab dental office. I have never had to pay out of pocket for a cleaning until I started going to them. I would go elsewhere except my insurance will only pay for comprehensive X-rays once every 5 years and I only figured that out because of Aspen Dental. Every dentist seems to want to do their own and not use another dental office. I can’t afford another $500 out of pocket for more X-rays. Aspen now charges me $95 per visit for cleaning. Like I said, never had to pay for cleaning before Aspen. Beware. They will try to do more than necessary.

My $5,000.00 dentures were supposed to be state of the art 3d printing technology. Cool, until my upper denture midline was under my left eye instead of my nose. I also had a massive over bite over the left side of my face which was explained to me was because of not causing the lower dentures to pop off, even though I have to post....which I had to go back to have redone because they didn't have the right post in stock. And when I went back they had a woman who had no experience and thought I was having a Bell's palsy stroke and couldn't work on me. I asked for the upper denture to be fixed so the midline was under my nose and not my left eye and was told I'd have to pay for another set to fix this issue. I don't have an expendable $5,000.00 so now I'm stuck with a upper denture where I have a massive overbite on the left side of my mouth and the midline of the denture is not aligned with my nose, or eyes or chin.

I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Aspen. I was extremely hopeful to begin with and agreed to a full dental plan and paid fully up front. After spending that nearly $13,000, I'm now being told that the treatment plan has changed and I now owe another $7,000 moving forward. Disappointed is an understatement. I had 4 caps put on my upper front teeth less than 1 year ago. Today I was flossing and one of the caps came off. I'm getting married this Saturday and now look like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. I'm so embarrassed right now and I have no clue what I'm going to do, but one thing I do know is that I feel it's important to let others who may be considering Aspen as an option know that it's a scam. They take your money no problem, but the actual care and doing right by patients is lacking. I'm so upset with their services. I'm hoping their highly profitable business can do something to make this right, but I don't expect it.

My treatment plan began recommending a deep cleaning among other treatments that would span over several months. The financial specialist tried to get me to pay over $6000 for all services prior to any treatment. I chose to pay for the deep cleanings which was $748, requiring two appointments. I was literally in the chair for 20 minutes for the first appointment. Aspen then tried to tell me I owed another $850 because insurance didn’t discount the services. They suggested I pay this and if insurance did discount they would refund me the money.
My EOB indicated that the discounts were applied and even with this document they insisted I pay them $850 additionally. Because I did not pay this they canceled my second appointment. They eventually dropped this charge but stated I owe them another $129. After going to a different provider, the deep cleaning was again recommended. Aspen did not provide the service that they charged me for and they will not refund my money. They did bill insurance fraudulently for this service, stating the service was completed in one appointment instead of the two they scheduled in the first place. It is sickening that they are still in business and even more sickening that these providers, including the horrible dental hygienist are so unprofessional and unethical.

I went to Aspen due to my top teeth causing me pain. The decision was made to pull them and get dentures. This was the very worst dev of my life. I have good dental insurance through my job, plus took out a small loan. I recently looked at the claim filed with my insurance company, it’s for $8800. I know they’ll only pay about $2500. However my sister who is on welfare insurance has dentures that look far better than what I got from Aspen.
I’m a month in, still not able to eat because they don’t fit properly. I was in the office yesterday for my second soft realign which didn’t work, left fit less than before. They are way too thick/big for my mouth and I gag on them. They are not centered. What would be the front two are off to the left. Just horrible looking. The plan was to go for the classic (cheapest) ones then once those are paid off (next month) pay the additional for the upgraded final denture.
At this point I’m looking at paying them off and going somewhere else to try financing for implants. I won’t live like this. I don’t eat but maybe once a day and when I do I have to stop halfway through to take them out then put them back in to continue eating. I voiced these issues yesterday at the appointment but was dismissed. She told me that they’ll probably always be loose and I’ll get used to it. I feel that is not acceptable.

Should have wrote this review a long time ago. This is one of the biggest money scheme places you can go to. If you need dentures or any dental work you need to go to a real dentist and office. They're going to talk you into either pulling half your teeth or all of them coz you need dentures then just found out today that after I had all mine pulled in 2017 because they said they needed to be pulled even though the doctor was literally up on his knees hanging from my teeth as he broke them out of my head that might dentures only have a 7 year warranty in, lo and behold they were up last year and now they have a crack. So they want me to come back in so they can tell me that I need to get another pair and spend God knows how much more this time.
Every dentist I've been to since says you need to keep your permanent teeth. They can fix them no matter what. So I beg you to go see a real dentist at a real office. Find somebody local. If you review these guys looking other states they have been sued multiple times for what I'm talking about right now. So that's my experience. It was a never good one. I should have never let them take my teeth. I regret it every day and I'll probably go talk to my lawyer. Please everyone have a good day

I had to come back for another appointment because the oral hygienist had called in.
On the 2nd appointment I was told by the hygienist that she wouldn’t do a routine cleaning, she proposed a deep cleaning for extra cost, that I don’t believe she’s qualified to do. I h as be made an appointment with another dentist, which will be out of pocket. Aspen Dental has billed me $85, even though my insurance company says I owe nothing. My appointment was at 8:00 am, I arrived at 7:45 to do every paperwork don’t need to be finished up. I paid the 30 dollar for their exam with took a total of 1 and a half hours. The whole time they could have cared less about the reason I was there in the first place. The whole 2 hours was used to up sale me on everything I didn’t need done at the time. So I restated the reason why I was there and they didn’t like that I wasn’t interested in any of upcharges. So they laid a bill for 2100.00 in front of me and told me that’s the cost of pulling one tooth. I asked them where they came up with that figure and was told it was standard pricing for pulling a tooth.
I called bull crap on that.when their Google price checker clearly states that tooth extractions range from 98.00. - 268.00 on average. I can understand paying a little more. Not that I would know why. It was a pretty straightforward extraction. I had already been in a antibiotic and a steroid for 3 days before the appointment. So having refused to be taken advantage of a clearly upcharging operation. I left. I will never ever use or recommend anyone to visit this clown show of a dental office.

The 1 person they did scans on, I later received a bill for $162 for x-rays not covered by ins. after having to reschedule all other appointments for a date that will cover all x-rays. Everyone missed half day of work/school for absolutely no reason. Appointments cancelled by staff after verbal confirmation only days prior. Refusing cleanings unless unnecessary work is performed by their office prior to, expensive work not covered by insurance. Go anywhere but an Aspen Dental office, read and believe the BBB reviews, listen when friends tell you this place is a corporate scam.

We made an appointment for my elderly mother with Alzheimer's to obtain a partial bottom denture that was misplaced at the hospital after a recent stay. The dental assistant stated that they could not replace the partial denture as she needed 4 teeth extracted due to damage first and would send an estimate. We agreed and let them know she did not have dental insurance. After 2 weeks of verifying that she did not have insurance we were able to obtain a quote for the extractions and new upper and lower dentures. We agreed this was ok and they insisted we get clearance from her PCP. This was done and they claimed not to be able to read the form for 2 weeks. The PCP sent the form again and we followed up no less than 6 times to NO response. Ridiculously bad customer service and sales tactics.

I didn't want to leave 1 star. It should be negative stars. I initially came for a cracked tooth. When the head dentist came in she proceeded to tell me every tooth in my mouth needed work. They gave me over 20 x-rays continuously telling me that they could not get a good image of my tooth. Finally I was told I needed a root canal. It took them over 4 hrs. To work on my tooth. Yes it was pure hell. The dr. Didn't wear gloves at different points in my visit. They told me I needed cleaning. Cost over 1000. And when I requested a print out of my bill good luck. You can't even decipher what the hell it means. They canceled several appointments. I will say the lady that cleaned my teeth was really nice and she said that all of the treatments that the head dentist said that I needed was not true.
The procedure of the root canal was pure hell. They could not get to the tooth. The dr complained then talked out loud about how she could not perform this procedure all while pulling and prodding in my mouth. Her poor assistants were more professional and knowledgeable than she was. The x-rays were very painful and like I said they took over 20 that day. I finally left my initial visit with gauze in my tooth telling me that this was common practice. After the initial visit I had to come back for my permanent crown. That was horrible. They could not get all of the cement or whatever they used out of my mouth. My bite was different. I had to go back for a follow up. I told them about a bump in my mouth. The dr said I had an infection.
I have NEVER had an infection in my mouth and I told them it was from them not wearing gloves. Dr denied it. Prescribed me medicine. I called and told them I needed more because I still felt the lump. They told me that they called it in. That was not true. I went to them again and said that I didn't pick that script up and that I needed a stronger antibiotic. Went to get that med and was informed that they never called a new script in ever. This dental office is horrible. Yes they OVER EXAGGERATE procedures, give terrible medical advice and their performance of procedure by the head dentist is unprofessional and downright negligent and harmful to patients.

On my 1st visit they knew that I was experiencing pain in 1 area but they Insisted on continuing to take 18 painful x-rays until I stopped them! My next visit was for a deep cleaning which went well then continued to everything after being a Complete Nightmare! I have previously had a wisdom tooth removed many years ago. It took minutes. The removal this time was nothing but Complete incompetence! I felt like I was in a torture chamber! Then this incompetent dentist proceeded to grind the absolute crap out of the tooth next to it to Apparently get it ready to crown. The entire time, the tech there didn't know wth she was doing and I kept almost drowning from water.
The tooth was finally removed and now they bring in an extremely hot instrument that the dentist burned my my lips with twice! Guess this cauterization didn't work because they continued on bringing thread and needles and Never Once explained what was going on! Then, as is if this isn't enough, and after I've had my jaws open for hours, she keeps trying to scan my entire mouth for the fitting of the crown even though they already took a mold. The scanner was malfunctioning and I couldn't Take anymore! The office was supposed to contact me before my appointment the next Monday to let me know if the scanner was working and never did, even though I had an appointment!
Now the horrible temporary crown these incompetent employees placed and never cemented has fallen out on a Holiday weekend!! I tried calling the phone help line and they told me they couldn't schedule Or note for someone to call. What good is that? I have dealt with nothing but pain and anguish and missed work for no reason. I have Never witnessed such incompetence in my entire life!! I need this issue taken care of immediately! I have heard of horror stories at the dentist, and I've never experienced one. However, this was the worst experience. I've ever had in my life, and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. It started on the first visit. I had to have two extractions done one was a preexisting route canal tooth, and the other was a tooth that just needed to be extracted. They put me through so much. I was hyperventilating, crying, choking and all I kept hearing was you're okay, you're okay! No in fact, I was not! It was horrible.
I left out of there in tears and dreaded my next visit! Next visit had impressions made for a new upper denture! The lady put so much of the material in my mouth. It was literally choking me. I was trying to let her know that I was choking and again, all I kept hearing was, "You're okay, you're okay. You're okay!" No, I was not! Don't ask me why, but every week I was having to go back in for this same procedure of the impression goop in my mouth. Each time she left so much material in there I was choking, and I'm trying to let her know.
I literally had to give myself the Heimlich maneuver! I have been going through trying to get my upper dentures now for over 2 months. I was having to go in and they were having to redo the material that almost caused me to choke. Why I have no idea. Then, I get a call that says "We're so sorry. We dropped your dentures and it shattered!" I thought I was going to come through the phone! The dentist, Dr. **, was informed of how angry I was. They were fixing to make me go through the same thing. All over again. At least she intercepted and made it to where she did something right there chairside and I was able to walk out with my denture that day, however, as I speak, I'm in horrible pain, I cannot eat. I have sores in my mouth and even hard knots on my cheek. From where the denture is just not right! My bottom teeth do not touch my lower teeth. That I still have thank God! My Thanksgiving was ruined.
I called today, letting them know that I was in excruciating pain and needed to have something done with this new denture ASAP. The appointment to get me out of pain and hopefully be able to eat again in my life is not until the 23rd of this month, that's 20 days from now! So much for their big deal advertisement, if you're in pain, if your denture's broken, blah blah blah, we'll get you in immediately!!! That is false advertisement across the board. I'm kinda stuck with this location in Athens at this time. Due to insurance and down payments that I've made. But let me tell you once this is over. And I'm talking about, once this nightmare is over, I will never step across the threshold of Aspen Dental in Athens, Tennessee, ever never again, and if anybody wants to know firsthand, just ask me! Everything at this practice is terrible: Substandard treatment, rude office staff, fraudulent billing practices, and responsiveness of HQ. I was charged for 4 front teeth crowns and came out of treatment with unsubmitted insurance claim, wrong crowns shade (the main reason I came to place new crowns in shade 1M1 was to match the rest of my dental work, but they replaced my A1 crowns to different A1 crowns instead of 1M1 as requested), fraudulent charges (they charged me 3 times for 1 prescription of cautious sedation med **, after my complaints they agreed the charges were wrong, yet took almost $900 out of my refund and yes, you will be paying for your own sedation although you'll have to purchase it separately at a pharmacy and bring to the office).
After I came complaining to their office, they sent me a letter releasing me from their care (for real) and since then, in only 3 month, my new dentist discovered cavities under 3 out of 4 crowns, only 1 pin placed although my insurance (and effectively myself) were charged for a 1 pin in all 4 of my teeth. Also, it was confirmed my crowns were in a different shade from the rest of my dental work. I still have not received my requested records despite waiting for almost 3 months instead of 30 days allowed by law. And today, one of my front teeth broke off at the root because it was never fixed under the crown, insurance only covers crowns once in 5 years, so I'll have to somehow place a new tooth in out of my pocket, if it's even fixable since the crown didn't fall off alone, but with almost the entire tooth. ALL the treatment described above was performed only 5 month ago.
Calls to Aspen corporate also do not help and in the first 2.5 month after treatment I made 126 phone calls between them and the office, each call has to go through a load of automated commands first. So, if you want to take your chances, good luck, but if you go to Manhattan, KS location be prepared to be ripped off (it's an expensive place), deal with literal fraud, pay for your own sedation, lied to, and to end up worse off than before your first visit. Oh, and my dentist wasn't gentle at all - I wasn't able not only to eat solid food, but to even speak for 2 weeks because of the pain and I never had that problem in my life, even with army dentists.

I went to Aspen Dental because they had made an upper denture for me after Cancer and did a great job. My dentures which are your top sellers listed for 15 years. I had to get my bottom teeth pulled which included 10 extractions and took some time to heal. I had the casts done and all the other things done and a new hire accidentally threw everything in the trash on a Friday and I was told next appt. What had happened. I did not make an issue of it and instead started the process over again. Unfortunately it was not the same process. There were no new casts made for top and bottom dentures. I do not know how they proceeded to make the dentures but they were poorly fit. Top and bottom. I was aware my bottom jaw had lost a lot of bone and might not hold dentures so I wanted them to focus more on the top.
I had a total of three dentists. Three different techs that files those dentures and two different denture specialists mold the dentures. When I made a complaint they brought me in with Megan a dentist and a tech who heard my complaints. The dentist said, “Didn’t you ask us to do these adjustments?” Yes I did. Yet they never said it would cause them to have no suction or they would chip and cut my gums. I am 67 years old and was a bit intimidated by the whole process. I need my dentures fixed and realigned yet I am not sure I want the same office. I am under warranty. It has been a bit over a year and the dentures have chipped and cut my gums. This is unacceptable. I will review again when I call this week to get my dentures realigned and fixed. Hopefully.

Honestly I would give them a zero rating if I could. 2 weeks ago this Wednesday I went in to have eight teeth removed on my bottom jaw in the front to complete tooth removals that started 14 years ago. I was a child in the seventies who was allergic to ** so I was given ** which caused my teeth to get soft. I had all of my uppers and my lower jaw teeth removed about 14 years ago back home in Missouri. I decided to let Aspen Dental do the remaining work which cost me $9,000. What I got in return was an oral surgeon who was more worried about being fast than being thorough. He left a tooth broke off in my jaw that was exposed to the air and on my first follow-up with Aspen Dental I was seen by a dentist who does not normally work there. All she told me was that I had sores on my jaw and that it would eventually heal.
The Denture that was put in my mouth is too small for my gums and cut into them badly so by the 5th day I couldn't take the pain anymore and I removed the denture. I started feeling around on my inside of my jaw with my tongue and I found what I thought was exposed bone which later turned out being the tooth that was broken off above the gum line. I went in to Aspen and complained about this and I was x-rayed and they admitted that there was part of the tooth still remaining in my gum so instead of sending me back to the surgeon to have this done right as should have been the first time the dentist merely started chipping the tooth off until she could sew the gum closed over it.
When I asked her if this wouldn't come back out through my gum at some point in the future her reply was probably not. I didn't pay $9,000 to hear that word. I have since filed a complaint with my state board of dentistry and with my State Attorney General's office. Lawyers won't Sue these people because they're like the Walmart of dentistry. They have lawyers on retainer and they will keep you in court and maybe your survivors will receive the money. Avoid Aspen Dental at all costs. Please for God's sake. There is a Facebook group called stop Aspen dental. I encourage you to go there until your story. Maybe at some point we can get an attorney to take a class action suit.

His assistant likewise said the same thing. However within a half hour of putting them in, they simply fall out. The fit is very loose and we're running out of patience. We had a good experience with the Aspen dental in Georgia but the one here in Gainesville Florida, we are both very unhappy with.
I likewise recently had a new set made in Newberry FL and I'm very unhappy with the fit. However the first day you put them in, they make you sign a waiver saying you're happy with them. Obviously the first day that you put him in, you have no clue how they're going to stay in or work. Between the two of us they've got about $10,000 out of us for dentures that do not fit properly. We're about ready to find a dental office that actually cares about their patients.

I was excited to see such a good offer. I just received a phone call from the front desk that her appt would only be for the exam and x-rays and then a hygiene appt would be scheduled and the type of hygiene appt would be determined by the Dentist. This is not what I was told when I made the appt. I have also never been to a dentist where the Dr. examines a patient before they have had their hygiene. It is always after a cleaning that the Dr. comes in. I explained my mother's condition and that regardless of what the Dentist "recommends", we are only interested in a basic hygiene cleaning appt. She also told me that I would be expected to pay for the cleaning service in advance.
I told the front desk that I would pay for the cleaning the day of services rendered and not before and that we only want a basic cleaning, regardless of what the Dentist recommends. The front desk manager argued with me that she is unable to provide a basic cleaning appt if the Dr recommends something more and that she will not book the cleaning on the same day as x-rays and consult, even when I explained my mom is in an assisted living and coming back a second time is a challenge. I cancelled my appt and have nothing good to say about Aspen after this impression.

Dr ** was not willing to keep his part of the agreement to provide services in the afternoon and I was out of luck. This is medical negligence!!! The billing practices are horrible. I went in for a consult, which was supposed to be no cost or billing to my insurance. They billed me for 533.00 for X-rays and then ran it through my insurance plan. If it’s supposed to be no fee, I shouldn’t have been charged. I ended up having to pay the balance. They will not get another cent out of me. I will never recommend this place to anyone unless it's telling them to avoid it.

Changed dentist because mine moved away. Went to Aspen since it was close by. Had xrays and exam. The hygienist said my teeth needed a deep clean? I always go to the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning and have never been told this. The Dentist looked in my mouth maybe 60 seconds, didn't say much. Then they had me go to the office to schedule the cleaning. They said the cost would be over $1,500! They're nuts. I went back to my original Dentist and the cleaning was $125 and no issues. Aspen is nothing more than a corporate run dental organization. They must be on commission. Also they billed my insurance company as if my wife was the patient, she is the policy holder. Working with my insurance company and 6 phone calls over months they never corrected the records. The 60 second look by the dentist was $100 on the bill.
After many months I paid the darn bill to get them off my back. Then a week ago (service was in March, now its November) I get a bill again from them with different amounts. They are as unprofessional an organization as you can get. I would seriously suggest people go to family run Dental organizations and not this incompetent corporate run group.

I walked into Aspen Dental with a cranky lower left crown and the reasonable assumption that I might need it pulled and replaced with an implant. What I didn’t expect was to be held hostage for over two hours in what felt like a dental-themed timeshare pitch. No beach, no sparkling water—just a very enthusiastic presentation of a treatment plan that made my jaw drop harder than the crown ever did.
Ready for the punchline? The grand total: $39,810. Yes, you read that right. With an “estimated” insurance discount of $18,761, which still left me wondering if I’d accidentally signed up for a luxury cruise instead of a dental procedure. For that kind of money, I’d expect a lifetime membership, a commemorative plaque, and maybe a dental chair that doesn’t look like it’s been through the Cold War.
I get it—businesses need to make money. But this felt less like healthcare and more like highway robbery with a fluoride rinse. I didn’t pay a dime, and I won’t be. I’ll be canceling my next appointment and chalking this up as a very expensive lesson in trusting my gut. Unless I’m found unconscious in a ditch and Aspen Dental is the last clinic on Earth, I’ll be seeking care el.sewhere. And even then, I might ask for a second opinion from the raccoon rummaging through my backpack. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

My last experience with Aspen Dental of West York, PA was so bad I haven't been back. To get an appointment for a routine cleaning I called in and was told to use the website, so I went to the website, made the appointment and then on the day of the appointment was told at the desk I should have called to ensure the services I requested on the website were available (the cleaning I needed wasn't, that day). The doctor performed a check up exam anyway, with xrays which revealed a cracked molar. They were able to prep the tooth and 3-D map the cavity for a crown that day- I got lucky that the doctor had time to fit me in right then (so far, reasonably good). At the follow up appointment to install the actual crown the doctor now noticed an exposed nerve and recommended a root canal. I wasn't thrilled to have to come in again (I lose time at work for every appointment) but glad that he had seen it before permanently installing the crown.
Dr. ** fitted the crown in place with temporary adhesive and made sure I understood to tell the dental surgeon that it was only temporarily fixed so they wouldn't drill through the brand new, $1500 crown. At the root canal appointment the doctor tugged a couple of times at the crown, decided it was permanently glued in pace and elected to drill through the top (Dr ** was next door on site but never consulted). I have never experienced such poor pain management (to include recovery from a gunshot wound in Iraq, serving with the Army).
I received the standard 'if you feel pain raise your left hand' instruction from the doctor and as soon as she started drilling it was excruciating and I raised my hand. So, drilled through the crown, massive pain and turned over to Dr ** for finishing up- who didn't understand why she had drilled through the crown. He finished up and left and after about 15 minutes a dental assistant I hadn't met before (not the root canal doctor's, not Dr **) entered the room and informed me that I "was free to go", as if being released from a police booking. No follow on appointment scheduled for next check up and I never did get my teeth cleaned.

The office was overcrowded with patients, and I waited for over an hour without anyone updating me on the delay or expected wait time. At that point, I chose to leave and notified the staff at checkout that my cleaning had not been performed. Despite receiving no services, I was shocked to receive an invoice one month later for $138. As a patient with dental insurance, I know that my deductible is $35. It was immediately clear that Aspen attempted to bill me directly instead of properly submitting the claim to my insurance provider.
Over the course of three separate billing letters, I repeatedly called their office and explained that this claim must be submitted to my insurance. Each time, I made it clear that I was willing to pay my deductible once insurance had been billed. Instead, Aspen Dental escalated this matter to a collection agency, which is both unacceptable and damaging.

Also, the assessment of the medical team came into question when they ignored the fact that I mentioned that I was on a blood thinner yet they insisted that l needed gingivitis treatment ( two treatments) several hundred dollars more, for bleeding gums, then they came back and told me I needed several root canals in which l sought a second opinion and found that I didn't need and the only tooth that I came in complaining about could NOT be saved due to decay and that it would only be throwing money away to do a root canal to have to have it pulled at a later date ( if it could even be built up).

She said, "that's okay we can adjustment it later." Once I received the permanent denture, I advised the technician that it did not fit and that it hurt. She made adjustments and told me to try wearing it for awhile to see if the adjusted itself. I did. It still did not fit. I returned several times to have it adjusted. I advised the technician again that my gums were not completely healed. Again I was told to wear it for awhile to see if it adjusted itself to fit properly. Again, I did as they advised. I called again to make an appointment. The office staff on my phone call advised that the technician advised that I try a glue for dentures and "give it awhile to work." So, I did. I used Fixodent. I tried this for a few months, it did "hold" my denture in, but it hurt.
Eventually my gums healed completely and the Fixodent no longer held. Because my denture was made too early and my gums had not completely healed. By the time my gums were completely healed the denture was too big, even the glue would no longer work. I called the Office to get an appointment to have it adjusted or aligned now that my gums were healed completely. I was told by the Office staff on the phone that I would need to pay for them to do this procedure. I said but your advertisement states lifetime guarantee for adjustment. They clearly did not adhere to their guaranty and I am left with a denture that does not and apparently will never fit correctly. I would like Aspen Dental to uphold their guaranty and fit my denture to work properly.

So I took my two kids there. Needed to get them in fairly quick and other places were booked for months. They didn’t take insurance so I figured I’d just pay out of pocket using the life insurance from my late husband. Scheduled new patient appointments and told them they needed cleanings. So we get there, they take X-rays do a quick check and tell me they both need fillings. Not surprised. What I was surprised about was they didn’t do the cleanings. They told me I’d have to schedule that for a later date… That was SIX MONTHS out. I went ahead and scheduled them and appointments for the fillings. Paid $695 for each of the two kids. Get to the fillings appointments and they tell me that it’s gonna be $729 for kid 1 and $605 for kid 2. I was like what? I thought that’s what I paid for already since they told me I had to prepay. Ok… whatever. I must have misunderstood.
So I pay them and they do half the fillings they were supposed to because they “didn’t have enough time”. You may think that’s no biggie, just go back. We’ll, when it’s over an hour away and I’m a widowed mother in the middle of daily cancer treatments (also over an hour away) it was a VERY big deal. But I went ahead and scheduled. I spent almost six hours driving that day. While there I checked with the desk to make sure there wouldn’t be anymore financial surprises. I point blank asked… “Are their cleanings paid for in the $1300 and $1424 I already paid?” “Yup, they’re all set”. To me (and any other human walking the earth), that was a yes. Ok, good.
The kids get finished getting their fillings and they both tell me that there was one filling that they didn’t do because that weren’t too bad and just needed to be watched. So I again go to the desk and ask about a refund of the fillings (1 for each kid) they didn’t do. She said that it would be refunded back to the debit card I used. That was June. It’s now September and still no refund so I call. Guy tells me that kid 1 did receive all the fillings I paid for. Kid 2 did not so they’ll refund that. But kid 1 still has a credit on the account and has a cleaning scheduled. I said that kid 2 also has a cleaning scheduled and should have a credit left for that. Nope! And the credit for kid 1 is less than half the cost of the cleaning. I told him that was not my understanding and that I was not happy with the situation.
He spouted off something about the treatment notes and the treatment agreement. Neither of which I have access to. So I can’t intelligently argue with him. I was so fed up that I told him to just cancel the cleaning appointments and refund the balance of kid 1. Now we wait. Wait to see if I actually do get the refunds. I’m absolutely appalled at the predatory nature that this business operates. We’re in a very rural area and our options are limited for dental care. Now begins the search for a dentist that’s accepting new patients and hope I can get them cleanings before the sun burns out.

I had a truly disappointing experience with Aspen Dental. The partials I received were poorly made—nearly impossible to get in and out, causing constant frustration. On top of that, trying to reach them is a nightmare. They rarely answer their phones, and when they do, the staff is consistently rude and dismissive. I expected professionalism and care, but instead felt ignored and disrespected. I would not recommend this location to anyone seeking reliable dental care.

I have been with Aspen now for about 5 years at the Portland Ave. office in Bloomington MN. They seem to have gone down hill in the last two years (for me anyway). Here is what happened. 1. After being with them for 2yrs. I needed a root canal. I tried to get in right away since the pain was bad. I was told that I had to wait 10 days to get in and that only new patients get in right away. They do not offer emergency service otherwise.
2. I was scheduled for a cleaning and yearly exam last April. I had this appointment made months in advance. I received a text the day before my appointment saying it had been cancelled and I need to reschedule. Then later that same day they said the appointment was not cancelled, so I drove 20 minutes the next morning only to find out that it was cancelled. 3. Today Sept. 17th I went to the appointment that I had rescheduled only to find out that the time was changed and I would have to wait until they had an opening. That was the final straw. I have already signed up with a new dentist that is a private practice dentist.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. I went to Aspen Dental in Fairfield Township. They are unprofessional, cancel appointments day of. Won't refund your money. Try to embarrass you in front of the whole dental office stating you don’t have insurance when in fact they are incompetent at doing their job. High pressure sales tactics. You have to tell them multiple times you don’t want things. Also don’t ever pay anything up front. They supposedly keep telling me they haven’t received money from my insurance and it has been 5 months even though they had zero issues processing my husband's claims. So if you are thinking of switching to a new dentist I would not go there. Also they lie, they say they do kids but they don’t and refer them elsewhere and try to charge you for that too and the X-rays that were not able to be used because they couldn’t take pictures in a kid's mouth. They need to be investigated

Told every visit that my insurance would cover denture reline and all after adjustments on my own custom dentures. At the final visit (because they put me out) they had the nerve to tell me they had authority to drain my insurance money…authority to manhandle my custom-made $4000 dentures and reline them, but no authority to correct? They hurt my mouth. They’re too big and they don’t respond or care. Also failed to mention until after relining them, since they weren’t made there and gave me a $350 adjustment bill and when I asked why, they didn’t tell me, they shrugged their shoulders and told me to leave before police were called.
They didn’t want other customers hearing my mouth and complaints. I never would have done this if I knew their scam. I had to get care at another competitor's place out of town/state. Out of pocket, but wayyyyyyyy cheaper to fix Aspen's mistake than to ever go back to Aspen's. I totally regret ever going here (no choices in my town) and will never trust them again in the future when/if I get new dentures. I will leave town/state as needed for dental care since I’m treated better from a competitor 1000 miles away.

On September 8th I took my grandson with a broken tooth to Rome, NY Aspen Dental for an emergency appointment. Says even on their door that do emergencies. He was examined and they came back with a list of things he needed to have done. We agreed to address getting the broken tooth removed first. They gave us an appointment for the 11th at 4pm. Mind you he is in pain. We went today to get his tooth pulled and they tell us his appointment was at 3:30 and he would have to come back at on the 25th. I showed them the appointment card and explained 3:30 was never discussed. The card shows 4pm. The receptionist said they must have wrote it down wrong. I asked if they could give him something for pain and they said all they can give is ibuprofen. I asked for a refund for the half of the money I put down and they said I never put anything down. Had to show my bank card charge to prove they had charged me.

Don’t go here unless you want a run around. I made an appointment for a tooth with extreme pain. Went through the entire process including x-rays and then them going through and telling me everything that was wrong in my entire mouth. I spoke up and said I thought my tooth was going to be taken care of today. They stated, “No it was just a consultation for today.” Then directed me to some lady for billing and setting up appointments. When I was talking to her she stated, “When I talked to you on the phone earlier I told you that it was only for the exam/consultation.” This was a bold faced LIE! I corrected her and said that she called me and stated that my insurance was no longer valid and she said I would have to pay out of pocket. I then went over my insurance information with her and she was able to correct it.
While sitting with her she stated that I would have to make an appointment for the extraction. The earliest they could get me in was Tuesday which is 6 days away! So… nothing done, I know this tooth needs extracted but the biggest thing is they didn’t even give a suggestion AT ALL to help mitigate and ease the pain even if I would have made an appointment. She pointed at a sign that supposedly has the grace period policy, which I had never heard about before, since it was the first time visiting this office. I explained to her that I didn’t know about the 5 minutes grace period and that I also had to wait for her to complete her phone call. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that I could not be seen today.
When I called Aspen Dental to make an appointment, I was informed that I could also walk in. Why was I not offered services as a walk in instead of being rescheduled? I would have been willing to wait, to be seen. I refused to reschedule and left. 16375 N Merchant Way Ste 140, Nampa, Idaho Aspen Dental. April 2025 I had all of my teeth removed. I had all of the Tori bones shaved down and my mouth stitched back up to get ready for my dentures. This may not be for everyone, but I do know that it is a very extensively long tedious process That absolutely has to happen in order to achieve well fitting dentures. Haven’t Been able to wear my temporary dentures much because they could not fit my mouth right and they made me gag. I could not eat Or drink with them at all.. I’m still unclear of my permanent dentures which I received yesterday but being fitted to make sure they fit right was painful and uncomfortable, and I have raw sores in my mouth due to that fitting, but rest assured my mouth will heal.
I will have to go every two to three weeks for the rest of my life to have my spots fixed on my Permanent dentures so that they don’t make my mouth sore. The billing process was quick and simple and I qualified for the loan but oh my heavens it is massively expensive for a set of dentures in 2025. I don’t know about anyone else, but if I had it to do all over again, I probably would’ve just kept my Original teeth. But now that it’s done it’s done and it’s not changeable. It was my own decision to have it done. I just wanted my smile back. As for the dentures or self, they feel like they’re way too large for my mouth. They push my top lip out too far. They do not look like my original teeth at all, and I can’t eat with them in. I can barely talk with them in because it is such a mouthful, but I won’t give up and I will continue to try. Maybe someday I’ll be able to wear them without having too many issues.
If I were to recommend getting dentures. I would make sure to also recommend doing a lot of investigating. Read reviews. Called to speak to doctors and ask people about their experiences with getting dentures first because everyone I spoke to could not give me a straight up answer or tell me how painful and miserable it’s been for the last few months so I guess what I’m saying is to do your homework before you make such a large decision because it will take away a lot of your self-esteem and be very expensive, painful and miserable and overly expensive for never being able to wear them, eat with them, drink with them without gagging, choking, coughing, and making your mouth raw so that you can’t eat, and then spitting them out!
The biggest mistake in my entire life is getting Aspen Dental to remove all of my teeth and had my Tori bones shaved down and then going for months on end, with temporary dentures that I could not wear and now receiving my permanent dentures I still cannot wear and every time I open my mouth my top dentures fall down. Can’t use the glue because it makes me gag and puke and then I can’t get it out of my mouth once I do glue them in. They didn’t ever fix one thing on them at all ever. It only gets worse. The dentists all sounded like broken records repeating the exact same thing over and over and over and never fixing the problem. The dentist and the lab technicians are definitely not qualified to make dentures., But like I said, the staff was nice.

I went into Aspen Dental wanting implants. I was quoted for total work required to complete this. After the oral surgeon made his examination, implant could not be an option. I was then quoted for a bridge and 2 caps. I used Care Credit to finance the work needed and everything was paid up front. When received my statement from Care Credit, I was charged for the implant work instead of the bridge & caps. The implant was more expensive. I talked with the finance person there and she said she would correct this. I had the work completed and upon my last visit there they presented me a bill for cleaning & whitening, which I paid cash on the spot. But also there was a charge for an additional $2,500 for 2 porcelain crowns.
I told the receptionist that I was quoted a price for all of the work and it was paid in advance. She left to go talk to someone in the back then returned and told that I was correct and that they would issue a credit for the $2,500 and just pay for the other work which I did. I was very happy with the dental work I received=, and their staff was professional and caring. The Dentist is a young man but very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. I really liked all of the staff there and have more work done if needed. The problem I do have is with their financing and billing dept. since this time I have received an invoice from them for the $2,500. In addition to this, there never was a credit issued or rebilling of the original work I had done. I am still paying for the implant work instead of the bridge & cap work.
I contacted their office and spoke with the finance person again and she said she would look into this and get back to me in a couple of days. Well that has been almost 23 months now and no word back, I have called their office 3 times and every time I was told that no one was there that I could speak to about this and they would give them the message. I even left message on their voice mail and still no call backs. I have since received another invoice and 3 text messages reminding me I need to pay for the outstanding balance. Then today I received a statement which states that they are going to turn me into collection if I don't pay this immediately. I am going to the Eagle office again in person to try and get this resolved. If I am ignored or told no one is available again, then I will file this matter in small claims before they try and turn me into collections.

I went in for a denture consultation and was given a different treatment plan. I asked the doctor for options for both and was told my dentures would be more expensive. Then I talked to the finance manager about both options and found out dentures were an option I could afford with financing. The finance manager left the room to get approval from the doctor then came back and I finished financing the procedure for dentures and paid cash that day also to make the payments smaller. On the day of my procedure to get dentures, I was told by the same doctor that she did not authorize it and would not do it without me talking to another finance manager.
After talking with them, I was told they would still do my dentures but it might not be covered now with my insurance. The manager and doctor tried to get me to do the other treatment plan that I could not afford so I ended up canceling everything with them. The manager and doctor both made me feel like I was a liar and that I had no idea what was going on or why I was even there for the dentures. The one thing I didn't understand was how I was able to schedule a procedure if the doctor said they didnt approve it. I will not be going back to them and will be finding a different place for me and my kids. Hopefully, they refund my money like they said they would. I would not recommend them.
Update: my 18-year-old son who is also on my insurance went to Aspen Dental for a appointment. He was told they could not find his insurance (which is the same as mine and my 2 other kids. All of which they had no problem finding) so they made him pay for everything out of pocket that day. They never even tried to file a claim for him and when I spoke with my insurance, they confirmed he is good and should have been covered for his appointment. So now my son is out over 300 dollars for an appointment that should have been covered. It just seems too convenient that the only member of my family they could not find to bill was the only other adult who could finance his treatment plan through them.
Update 2: My other 2 kids were also seen at Aspen Dental, and were both told they had a gum disease that needed expensive treatment, water pics, and toothbrushes. We saw a different dentist for a second opinion and neither of my kids have the gum disease that Aspen Dental said they had. Thankfully, I went and got a second opinion before wasting any more money with Aspen Dental. The other dentist also did not speak to my kids in a way that made them bad like ** did when we were at Aspen Dental. This company's staff (**) seems more focused on collecting money from people than actually helping them. I would give them a 0 star if I could.

After multiple red flags during my visits over the course of two years, I decided to part ways with Aspen and establish care with a more reputable office before my braces come off and investing thousands of dollars in cosmetic procedures. When I requested my records, they told me I would have to come in and fill out a form. I requested it be emailed to me which they did, even though on the top of their records release form it states the patient requesting their own records are NOT required to fill out the form (I attached the form). I signed it regardless, requesting charts and X-rays… all records. They only sent me my x-rays, and now are refusing to send me my chart records. They told me I would have to drive the 70 miles to pick them up in person.
After doing my research, I found that I had the right to receive my records in the manner in which I requested. That not complying with my request, was in fact, a HIPAA violation. Per the website recommendation I reminded them of my rights and again requested they email or mail me my chart records. No response. I also called and left a message. Now when I call, I go straight to voicemail. I called their corporate office for a resolution and they said they would open a ticket, but I have not heard back as of yet and wasn’t satisfied with the outcome of that call either. I can file a complaint with HHS but I have to wait 30 days to file a formal complaint. They pre-charged me for my teeth cleaning (another questionable practice) on this last visit, but they didn’t clean my teeth. They say would issue a full refund.
I anticipated it would be an issue and contacted my credit card company just in case. They did issue a refund, but still shorted me the full amount. That’s not my biggest concern, but is still a concern and shows a serious lack of integrity on their part even though the unissued amount is only $10. It’s just another indication of their dishonest and questionable practices. I won’t go into to the list of untruths and discrepancies giving me pause that lead me the to the decision to go with a more reputable establishment, that would take several more paragraphs. What Aspen Dental HAS done, is validate my very real concerns. I highly recommend doing extensive research on Aspen Dental before entrusting them with your oral care. I’m fortunate that I’ve only being inconvenienced but that in itself goes to show a disregard for my time, which IS valuable. Buyer beware!

They had no problem fixing them but when I called to make the appointment after hrs I left a message and my account said I still owed a little over 1400. I asked about it when I went in and it was no big deal but I found out they turned it over to collections without ever send me a invoice or a email what’s so ever.
I had to make an appointment a week after my teeth came in for a adjustment because my teeth are killing me to where I can’t even eat. I sat and waited for my turn then the lady at the front desk called me up and said unfortunately we will not do an adjustment because you owe us 1400 in collections and it has to be paid before they will see me.
Remind you I don’t have a problem at all paying my bill but to just to find out they sent something to collections without trying to send you a invoice is the craziest s—t I have heard. I called corporate and all they could say is I’m sorry to hear that. Well I’m sorry to that my ** mouth is killing me and none of you care. Please think twice before using this dental office. She kept trying to give me days and times to fill their calendar. Also, they want to schedule x-ray and exams separately from treatment plans...Why should I want to take off two days instead of one day....Which explained why they were empty.
My prediction is that this storefront location will be in decline within the year. Unfriendly staff, unless they are making a commission, and an appointment system that is patient-unfriendly...I will let my teeth rot in my mouth before I patronize this or any Aspen Dental location....In my opinion, they are horrible....Kevin **

If I could give a zero star for Aspen Dental, I would. They are the worst place I’ve ever been to in my life over a year and now they’re trying to bill me 500 and something dollars when my insurance pay plus they had me get a loan I had to pay it back. I never even got a total cost for my Partial. They said they had to give me. I don’t even wear cause it doesn’t even fit right it doesn’t and they said at the end of everything they would owe me money, but that didn’t happen either. Here’s a review or a video of what I just received.

Run, don’t walk AWAY from Aspen Dental!! This place is one of the worst scamming businesses that I’ve ever seen! I am a Medicare recipient and have supplement insurance, to which I can only go to Aspen. If the insurance company can’t figure that Aspen is overcharging them, they’re crazy! AND if the people can’t figure out that they are being scammed, they need a mental evaluation! They’re focused on the elderly with insurance and not totally comprehensive. Okay, I went in for just a plain cleaning! I’m very adamant about taking care of my teeth! I just had my teeth cleaned 6 months previously with an absolutely great dentist but had changed insurance that would pay more for a cap. BAD MISTAKE!
First, they took a tremendous amount of X-rays, then the supposed dentist came in to inspect my mouth and teeth….She took an instrument and INTENTIONALLY PIERCED MY GUM TWICE to which my gum started bleeding and hurt like “H”, to which she stated that I had puss pockets on all my gums, had gingivitis and was all infected, needed a “deep cleaning”, 2 caps, gingivitis treatment, periodontal scaling and root planning???, fluoride (to which I’m allergic to) and the total for insurance was $4467 (because the maximum charge for insurance is $5000), MY COST WAS $$2005! OMG! I was sooo bloody angry that I told them what I thought of them as I went out the door! So, I went over to my old dentist and scheduled a cleaning for $137! I’m canceling my dental insurance tomorrow!

Horrible. Paid in full and they kept billing me and my insurance. Still can't believe emergency life saving surgery is cheaper and so is a complete burial is too. Has to be some regulations especially cleaning surgical procedures room in between patients. A tech came in during my procedure to pull out a device in the corner that still had a partially used iv bag and tubing connected. Pain is another issue. I kept raising my hand because I can feel some of the work. Did not believe the patient. Other states at least regulates heath safety. Have to wait a few more months to get Hep B, C and hiv testing.

I was in a desperate need to have an extraction. I was quoted a fee over the phone. After I arrived and paid the quoted amount, I was told before the extraction that I had to pay more - which doubled the price I initially was told I had to pay. Also, when I called them to convey my displeasure regarding my experience, I was simply told that I was told what I had to pay up front was a down payment for an emergency procedure - which differed from what actually transpired.
I may be a 66 year old, getting by with Social Security, but my faculties are sharp enough to know when I'm being scammed. I wouldn't have come to their business if I was told the FULL price I had to pay. Me and my wife recently moved back to the area, because the cost of living where we were did not equal the meager wages we earned, and I was forced to turn to Social Security in order to survive. We don't have permanent housing, and are living with what we can to get by.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Aspen Dental, due to the shady methodology that enticed me to fall into a further negative financial standing. If they had been more forthcoming with the financial requirements, it could have been a more positive experience - one that could have benefited both parties. Instead, you have an unsatisfied customer, burdened with a further detriment to to my financial survival. G. E. **, Jr.

I do not recommend them, they do not know how to make dentures. I have been using an upper denture for over 40 years and this place does not know how to align the denture to my lower jaw, my bite is completely out of alignment. I paid for the most expensive denture, using my health insurance as well. Now I will have to have a denture made and pay full price for it. So beware, oh and by the way, the first denture was so bad that they redid them, I cannot chew my food properly now.

I was billed for items that were not included in my Treatment Plan/Financial Responsibility contract. I was charged $2,804.00 on a separate billing statement for something that was not on my treatment plan, that I was completely unaware of. I understand their "estimated insurance coverage" would not be accurate. But it wasn't a matter of insurance. This charge was not due to "changes in my treatment", or "upgraded procedures or materials". Plus, wouldn't they inform me that they would be adding this large amount of charges and explain why?! I've made many phone calls trying to resolve this issue. I was told by the Office Manager (after many unresolved calls) that it was an error & I would NOT be billed for this. Today, I received yet another bill, for the same item. This should not be legal! It's deceptive billing & very unfair. I only gave 2 stars because the dental assistant was very good & nice.

I am writing this review, because I just had a chance to compare services and I realize how terrible and scammish Aspen Dental is. My rating for them is minus 10. I had to leave my dental office that was great for me for close to 20 years, because insurance stopped covering them. So, I was in the search for a new one for myself and my husband.
We decided to try Aspen Dental. From the very firs visit I have sensed something fishy: they demand all payments upfront (always more then it should be, and never return the balance & never apply it to the next bill - I had three visits with them) + they started adding to my bill a new electric tooth brush even without asking if I have one!!!, lured me to a deep cleaning that I didn't need with some unnecessary costly meds + they started advertise a new dentures to my husband even the old ones were in a great condition, also they took all x-rays possible even when I told them that we had it done recently and can ask the old office to transfer them to Aspen. Oh, no-no-no, we will take all new ones, of course insurance didn't cover it, but who cares, right? And finally - cherry on the top - "your husband needs this-that-and more of this, and it will cost you 10K". WTF!
When I started asking questions and asking to run some sort of schedule to coordinate it with our insurance (like we did in previous place) the office girl was looking at me like a deer in headlight. We just walked out and never came back. Today we had a visit to a different practice. What a difference! First of all - no upfront payments, no deep cleaning even we are new patience, no fluoride silently added to my bill, no electric brushes and who knows what else, and halleluiah - my husband doesn't need 10K work on his teeth! He needs to fix only one cavity that will cost $60 after insurance coverage! Magic cure! So, If you see Aspen Dental sign - run!

I have been having trouble with my teeth for years so when I had a toothache I went and talked to the dentist and we agreed to pull all of my top teeth and I really trusted the dentist but now I’m not sure I made the right decision.
I wish I would’ve gotten a second opinion but that’s too late now. Then I needed a partial for the bottom so they made it and I can’t even wear it because it hurts so bad and makes sores in my mouth and went back for a lot of fittings and was told they couldn’t do anything else with it so I asked for my money back so today I met with the person who does the billing and was told that I wouldn’t be getting a refund and that I would have to pay more money for the permanent partial and that made no sense to me but I thought I just didn’t understand but I went home and thought about it and it doesn’t make sense so I am going back with my daughter who will be able to figure it out.
I’m really upset because I thought these people were looking out for my wellbeing and now I’m not so sure. I have paid over 4 thousand dollars on my credit card and now I’m seconding guessing everything. When I called back today to say I wanted another appointment so I can bring my daughter they didn’t sound happy and didn’t even say goodbye before hanging up and that makes me mad because normally they are very nice when ever I call.

I had a disappointing experience with this dental office. The clinic was extremely busy, and it felt like the staff and dentist were rushing from one patient to the next and although they diagnosed me with Periodontal disease, I was never seen by a Periodontist because they were "really busy". This truly concerned me as It felt more like a sales pitch than a medical recommendation, which left me feeling uneasy about the motives behind the advice. While the office seemed modern and well-equipped, the overall experience felt impersonal and rushed. I believe dental care should be thorough, transparent, and tailored to the individual—not a one-size-fits-all approach. I won’t be returning. PS: I found a great dentist later that afternoon who did test me and did not agree with this office's diagnosis as all my scores were 3 and under.

Now 2 years later I have not had one meal without my teeth falling out. I have lost 60 pounds, have many physical issues like malnutrition, extreme weight loss, very extreme eczema, and anxiety, caused by Aspen Dental, supported and documented by my three doctors. I made many requests to the incompetent doctors and to the CEO and chief legal officer … They never answered one of them. They blocked my phone, and illegally dismissed me when I asked to have my teeth fixed … illegal because they did none of the seven ADA requirements for a dismissal.
Aspen CEO has a warranty to fix or refund money if someone is unhappy with their work… That's why I chose them. Aspen offered me $.20 on the dollar from my purchase and I didn’t do anything wrong. I asked to see a copy of the contract where I signed for such a thing, and after a dozen request I gave up. They have abused me significantly, and discriminated against me as I am a 78-year-old man with a disability, which doctor ** mocked me about.
It would cost about $2000 to $3000 in incremental cost to give me lower implants, and Dr. ** has spent many times more on legal fees. Dr. ** came in to my appointment because I said I wanted my teeth fixed and screamed at me and got into my face, spitting all over me calling me names about my age and my disability And told me to get out of office or he'll call the police, The department of Justice said we should look at mediation and I agreed, but Dr. ** refused. Then I told Amanda that I can't afford that she then left came back with she said the same plan but she cut the expensive cleaning off so now I was at a balance of around 620. Without using my approved credit. So when I went my appointment I was thinking I was getting extraction and a bridge only to see she had changed my plan to a denture.

I completed it and was still a few minutes early before my appointment time. I was seen 15 minutes after my scheduled time - even though a lot of staff were sitting up near reception and playing with an employee's child that they had brought to work.
I was taken back, person never introduced themselves or explained what we were about to do. Next thing we’re doing 18 x-rays as well as a panographic xray - none of which were explained or asked of my consent (I had just had these done 6 months prior and my records had been forwarded to this office). Then I was taken to a room where a 3D image was taken, again without my consent and then the person left - never told me what was happening or when to expect someone.
Then another person came in, again no introduction, just told me they don’t normally work there and she doesn’t understand their system or set up. She checked my gums. Made a note then departed - never said what was happening next or who would be coming in. I sat there 25 minutes and no one checked on me - so I got up and left. Not a single person stopped me or asked if I needed anything or followed me out to parking lot. They never even called me to see if I was okay? I contacted my insurance when I got home and told them all this and to dispute any charges they submit as I never received services nor consented to any of the x-rays. I did indeed receive a check afterwards - for about a quarter of the amount. United said it was because it was out of network - ???? I go back to the manager, who tells me his company had indeed contacted everyone that they dropped all insurance coverage.
Upon meeting with the manager, he said he would escalate this issue, and probably be issued a credit or refund - in a couple of days. Not surprisingly, no response for 2 weeks. I go back again, and from there, he essentially threw up his hands and said it was now in the hands of the next higher up. Nice bait and switch! Provider did not take recession measurements for each tooth and surmised that I had 11 level 5 recessions. I was in the chair from 2 pm until 5 pm, mostly waiting on the provider to return from seeing another patient. As a result of preparing a cracked tooth for a crown, my jaw was swollen and bruised for 2 weeks. He cut the inside of my cheek with the drill. He also stated I had a cavity.
I decided to switch to another dentist. This dentist did the recession measurements, and my levels are 1-3, which is indicative of a healthy gum (and not periodontal disease)! The cleaning was set up in two separate sessions at a cost of $327, $25 x6, $32, $178, $46 = $733! This was unnecessary! The very poor fit, needing an adhesive and even then they would pop out when eating. Finally they agreed to refund my money and I went to Aspen Dental.
Upon entering the clinic I was greeted by very friendly receptionists. I was taken back and immediately given X-Rays, an exam and IMPRESSIONS!!! Then I picked out color and level of denture and payment arrangements. Dr. ** actually did the impressions NOT the assistant. I was so impressed with her. On the very first appt!!! (not digital) Stay far away from that nasty technique. Regular conventional dentures done with impressions if done right most often you don't need an adhesive and suction builds. I have found this not to be the case with digital. Yes they may "look nice" but everything else not adequate compared to the good old, old fashion way.
The next appt I met Oscar another dental assistant. I had a tooth pulled (bottom) almost painless. A few days later the wax try in. I had to come back for a second wax try in something minor was not right. When I returned a couple days later they were perfect. I signed a paper stating the color and everything was correct. I returned a few days later to pick up my dentures. I cried!!! Tears of JOY. Aspen Dental and their team gave me my life back! I had to explain to Oscar and Dr. ** that I was crying because I was happy. I could tell IMMEDIATELY the FIT WAS PERFECT. They gave credit where credit was due and brought in the lovely denture maker/technician. What an asset for this team. I feel horrible I forgot her name.
I cannot say enough good about Aspen Dental and I will be going there for ALL of my dental needs. I have searched all over the internet to find reviews on denture experiences and this is why I find myself compelled to share my horrible experience with a different dentist that has to "send out" the dentures and molds vs Aspen Dental who has technicians ON SITE. Billing was simple too. They gave me many discounts and they were actually less expensive than the horrible place where they couldn't get them right. This also affected my next appointment for extractions and partial denture..
During that visit I asked/confirmed and expressed my concern that my treatment plan would change, even the visiting dentist said it was a good thing I came in not just because of the pain, but also to ensure the partial would be made correctly, I was even told what the difference in cost would be. Needless to say no one followed through, and the partial was not done correctly. On the day of the extraction, the dentist was very blasé, and just continued to basically blame the other dentist. Regardless of what staff member(s) dropped the ball is not the point. After my teeth were extracted, I was advised that the partial was not correct and they had to make another impression, which entailed them having to put the compound in my mouth right after I had my teeth pulled.
I was apprehensive because there were particles left in my mouth when they had done this originally, and I was worried that it would get into my open wound. Also, in the written care instructions, it stated after the dental procedure to put the partial in your mouth and do not take it out for 24 hours, but that no longer applied since they made a mistake. There were so many lies ranging from the accuracy of appointment times, how long it takes to make a partial denture, obtaining X-rays, to charging .30 on my credit card that Heidi said it would not be charged. It was not about the .30, it was just another lie.
When I came back to the office hours after my extractions I picked up the "Modified" partial, my mouth was incredibly sore and the Novocain had pretty much completely wore off, I did not want to have another person push and poking in my mouth. Also, when I was leaving the dentist mentioned a discount, not on the extractions but for the partial. I would like a response to my issues and the discount, and how soon that will be credited to my HSA account.

Saw on Aspen Dental's website that they state they can try and repair a broken denture, mine broke so I was looking for a repair if only a temporary one, made an appointment and got a call the next day to get some more information, when I spoke with the representative they stated that they don't repair any dentures that isn't made by aspen dental, would have been great to know before I booked an appointment, you know like maybe it should be stated on the website....

I was wary about going to Aspen, due to their poor reputation, but did because of the ease of getting appointments quickly (Meadville, PA). Poor decision on my part. A female doctor removed the remnants of tooth, bone of two front teeth. This Dr. also tried to pressure me into procedures I do not need. A week after the procedure and receiving a partial for my two front teeth I was in immense pain. I assumed I possibly has dry socket. I called Aspen Meadville and they did get me right in. A male doctor informed the female Dr. neglected to remove all bone and the area was infected.

My husband had a new top plate made, the staff was friendly to begin with. The plate did not fit, it kept falling out of his mouth so we went back. They were not so friendly this time but they relined it. He still went back and told the dentist it wasn't working and needed a new denture made. He said there wasn't anything wrong with the one he had and he was yelling. I told them our contract stated that if we was not satisfied we could get it remade or our money returned. He continued yelling at us. Said we definitely was not getting our money back. Finally my husband told him he did not appreciate him yelling at us.
That kind of brought him back to reality and he agreed to make a new plate. My husband went in to pick it up, tried it on and told the assistant that the denture was coming out on both sides. She told him that was normal. The dentist never came in to adjust it and the teeth looked like they belonged in a donkey's mouth. I guess the dentist got his revenge on us for asking for the denture to be remade. I can't even give a rating of 1 because it was so terrible!! He's got two dentures and neither one fits. Terrible experience.

I hate that I had to give one star. I have the Aetna discount plan for which they said they accepted before the appointment. My husband and child went to 2 appointments for which they were turned away after long waits to be “verified“. A month later they never could complete an appointment and was suggested to get a credit card instead. Even though they knew we had a discount plan that they accepted. They said they were having problems with their new system. Got tired and finally moved on to another business. God awful place!

The office staff including the manager are not helpful at all, I've going here (71st & Memorial) for about 3 years. There was a crown build up done in 2024 and the bill is continuously sent to me and they state insurance hasn't paid. I verified with insurance and they stated they've never received a bill from this dental office? I conveyed the issue to the manager and she sounded like she could care less. She stated she was sending to the billing dept and they would submit electronically the way they do it. I offered to the manager that I had a fax for them to use and she corrected me that they submit electronically and they do not sway from that. I once again offered the fax and asked what could be done? She did not offer a solution or any type of mitigation because this bill was 1 year old.
DO NOT use this facility: in the past 3 years the staff has been a total revolving door so I'm not sure what they can't keep competent staff. If an office cannot resolve insurance issues DO NOT GO unless you plan to be a cash patient. I had a crown cracked by one their dentists and did mention it but in general the staff there is highly incompetent and useless.

They charged my mother for services that were not rendered, and to make matters worse: They sent the bill immediately to a financing company that wanted to charge her 37% interest. AND, they never billed the insurance. The insurance told us that all services were covered, but they never even received anything from Aspen Dental. Lastly, she needed dentures, a partial, and after several weeks, it still does not fit. I don't recommend this place. Don't go there.

Try to upsell you dental work you don't need and will not do the work you want until you do the upsell work. Total lack of care for the person that just wants to have a Teeth Cleaning, normal Teeth Cleaning not some expensive work you do not want.

I showed up for a cleaning and was told that I needed all this other work done. I said ok. They said, $2700 before they would clean my teeth. I'm sorry but who has $2700 just to get my teeth cleaned??? Called another office and boom, Three days later I got my teeth cleaned without all the extra bs. Please don't go there. They are a total rip off. All they want is your money. I wouldn't trust them with insurance.
