I ship my product all over the world, I had an account with UPS but I refuse to use them because of the delivery delays they create themselves. Every time I shipped a package with them or receive a package from them I watch the tracking of my shipment. They give an estimated delivery date let’s say the 10 of November. The package shows up at the local UPS facility on the 4th of November, instead of going ahead and delivering the package they hold it until the estimated delivery date. My customers also track their packages and when using UPS in the past they would get very irate about this. I have a package that arrived in the Raleigh, NC facility on the 3rd of December, it indicated on the truck for delivery on the 4th of December, it was not delivered and showed in the system the night of the 4th as may be delayed, it did not show up on the 5th of December and showed that it was en route to destination.
I called UPS on the 6th of December and after being on hold 4 different times for 4 different people was finally told that they could not find my package and an investigation was put in the system. If this was a one time thing I would not be putting in this review but this happens almost every time I have something coming in by UPS. Personally I use the US Post Office and can ship cheaper and faster anywhere in the world including in the old Iron Curtain countries and have not yet in the last 10 years of shipping with them had a package lost, last or damaged, my suggestion to anyone thinking about using UPS is to re-think your options. I wish I could give them a zero stars on here but have to settle for one.'
Updated on 12/07/2017: I posted here the other day about a package that I have not received yet. UPS has had it at our local hub for five days now, each day saying it is out for delivery so each day instead of doing my regular things I hang around the house waiting for the delivery, each day it does not show up. Yesterday I called UPS Corporate and was told they could not find the package so they put in a lost package investigation. Within minutes of this it showed up again as out for delivery. Well it was not delivered again. Today I went to the customer service desk at the Raleigh NC hub, I asked where my package was, I was told it was in the warehouse at the main hub.
I asked why it was not yet delivered to me I was told because it weighed 70 lbs that it would have to wait until the smaller packages were delivered. I asked where the hub was so I can pick it up. I was told they could not tell me that and that I would have to pick it from customer service. I asked them to have it transferred to them, they said they could not do that. I would have to wait until the hub transferred it to them. I asked for a supervisor. They said there was not one on site, I asked for the name and number of someone at the hub I could talk to. I was again told they could not give me that information. They said all you can do is wait until the package is delivered. Someone please tell me how the hell are these people still in business?

I had a package shipped from China to Las Vegas. The package arrived in Vegas, but never made it to my home. I've heard nothing but horrible things about UPS, and I work with a company that uses UPS and the complaints are non-stop. Unfortunately, this was my only option because this is who the vendor uses. How does a package come that far, and now it's untraceable. NEVER AGAIN!

Sent a package out on Nov. 3rd. They lost the package, every time I called spoke with a different person and received a different story/outcome. Finally after three weeks was told my claim would be approved and they would send check directly to my home. Waited another two weeks after filling out claim forms and still no check. Contacted them and was told I had to go through my local store for the claim return. Contacted local store. They did indeed receive the check finally but was told I had to wait another ten days before I could pick up. Once I went there to get the check it was only for 58.92. The contents was 50 alone plus 12.95 shipping and this doesn't include my fuel or time spent trying to get this taken care of.
The store told me that's all UPS paid even though the insurance was for 100 dollars. When I called back into UPS they said it was minus a sur fuel charge, are you frigging kidding me? You're charging me a fuel charge for losing my package and me having to wait over a month for a refund. Unbelievable. Never again will I use UPS. Go to FEDEX and don't waste your time on a company that treats people this way.

We purchased a TV from Best Buy on Thanksgiving and they are shipping it using UPS. For 4 consecutive days, UPS has been saying "Out for delivery today" followed by "Due to operating conditions, your package may be delayed. / Delivery will be rescheduled." Wow. If it happens once or twice, it's operating conditions out of your control. If it happens continuously everyday, it is not operating conditions but professional incompetence.

Terrible company and complete let down for Christmas - family sent me a box of 4 KG for Christmas and arrived with half of items in as it stated did not apply with GUIDELINES - this is ridiculous. I tried to speak to the customer service department and they said they could not help - what is the point of customer service if they do not want to help you? They gave me a number to a Mexican UPS who said pay an extra 40£/50$ on top of original price. They didn't need to ask as I looked on my bank account it had already been taken. This makes me worry about future problems if they continue to take money without asking. I got given lots of numbers which then took me back to the pointless customer service which wasted 3 hours of my time talking to people who didn't care. Please do not use this dodgy slow company.

This is twice in two weeks they have misplaced my package... Last time I had to go pick it up to get it in time and now once again they have "missorted" my package, I was informed by UPS that I could pick it up 1 1/2 hrs away if I need it today. It was due yesterday and they updated the package to today, yesterday and now it has been missorted and no delivery date is available. Over the years this company has gone way downhill with customer service and reliability. I would never use them if I could choose who would ship to me.

I believe Consumer Affairs belief that 1-star is the lowest rating, is a disservice as some of these items are not worth a single star. UPS attempted a surprise delivery, because it was Saturday and no one was home. Didn't know they could deliver on Saturday, for a UPS Ground delivery. Posted on the door, however, were directions for alternate authorized delivery that they have followed for hundreds of packages prior to this one -- who can sign for any package and show authorization to sign on our behalf, if UPS needed proof. Instead, they left a notice that they would attempt re-delivery on the following weekday (Monday).
When attempting a live chat complaining about the fact that they didn't follow the directions for having someone else sign (someone located at a location they had to pass to leave my area), the chat apologized and assured that the package would delivery today (Monday)... Went home to wait for package, which should have delivered by 7PM, and at 7:50PM started another chat and was told it was on the vehicle and would deliver that night. I pointed out that it was now outside the posted window, and was assured that because of the volume, they were running late, it would still be delivered. I asked how late I should have to wait, and they said they deliver until 10PM.
When it didn't arrive after 10PM I started another chat and again waited for my turn in the queue (each of these chats takes at least 10-minutes of waiting, if not more), and finally near 11PM CST I started another chat, and at this point, I noticed the deliver date had changed to Tuesday. The last chat person had no visibility to the fact that it had been out for delivery on Monday. He only saw that it was to be delivered on Tuesday, and all previous Out For Delivery information was not present in the track (I have since checked by email account, and I have the email telling me I have a package coming on Monday, and now have the Tuesday version of the email).
So UPS believes that I have forever and a day to wait for them to decide if they feel like delivering my package. I have continually complained to the retailers that a lot of this is their fault as they don't hold the carriers accountable. Once the retailer has charged you, as the buyer, you are on your own. This is great when it all works, but not so great when it falls apart.

Last week I had a package delivered to my home which was clothing. The UPS site said that it was delivered to my front door (complete lie). The package was thrown at the bottom of my driveway which is 275 feet long. Did I mention it was raining? Well... Items were destroyed so I contacted UPS and got a message stating that package was delivered and ignoring any and all concerns. Well... Yesterday I had 3 packages that were being delivered and one required a signature verification. I sat and waited most of the day to be able to sign for my package. At 7:48 PM I noticed the UPS truck approaching my home down the private drive. I started flicking the lights so that they would know I was there.
The driver proceeded to park at the bottom of my driveway and once again threw all 3 packages at the bottom of my driveway. To say the least I was furious! The one package that required a signature was an iPhone X just chucked 375 feet away from my home. Driver never ever got my signature on this item. Plus rain was in the forecast. Did the driver sign my signature? Why was this particular package just spewed in a pile with the other two at the end of my driveway? I cannot believe the level of service and the complete disregard for people's purchases. I tried to call and to no avail. I will be calling again today demanding that they take responsibility for their behavior.

Returning a package to Amazon, the driver who was expected, came with no meter and no labels of proof that I was returning my package. He was arrogant, said he didn't have them, and then proceeded to walk away with a smirk on his face. I called UPS, described the driver's appearance, and they said they'd make sure his supervisor got the report. However, when I noted my activity report online, it was said, "The package was not ready at the time of the first pickup attempt. A second attempt will be made." - the first lie! I called UPS immediately, and asked that they not send a driver the next day; I wouldn't be home. A driver obviously came to pick up the package. I wasn't home, so he left a message as of his 2nd attempt (I've called UPS numerous times, and there were always apologies, but nothing was ever done; in fact, they blamed the victim - me.).
I rescheduled for a Monday pickup. No show. I'd changed my schedule to accommodate the driver. When I called UPS again, to let them know of this mishap, they said the driver attempted to pick up the package, but no one was there. The 3rd lie. The 2nd lie was, "The receiver has canceled the product order and refused delivery." I'd told the UPS agent that I couldn't be home because I'd waited all day, and I couldn't wait any longer. I didn't refuse, I just couldn't be at home. UPS is a horrible company to work with. Integrity is not on their list, and they need to be closed down, or the CEO needs to train his workers. First, they leave people on the phone without returning to say someone will be with you in a moment. Supervisors are not to be found, or too busy to take an urgent call. UPS employees consistently lie. Now I'm expecting a call from my local office at 8 pm tonight. My phone hasn't rung yet...

These drivers and customer service are the worst I’ve ever dealt it. Save your money and go to FedEx! They actually care about their customers and every package gets delivered on time. I’m still waiting on 2 packages that I paid extra to have expedited and they’re nowhere to be found and these idiots can’t find the package or have it delivered. Horrible, incompetent and honestly, a piece of ** company!! I hope they go bankrupt one day because their way of dealing with their customers is sure to lead them down that road when everyone starts going to FedEx!!!

I ordered a Chromebook on Amazon. I had Amazon Prime. I bought it on Nov 27th, and so it was going to arrive on Nov 29th. UPS is the carrier for the shipment of my item from Amazon. On Nov 29th, the tracking information said that it's out for delivery. I'm so excited. But night came, and it never showed. I looked it up, and it had gone back to the UPS facility after being out for delivery. OK. Maybe it was too busy and never got to my house, so I waited for next day. Nov 30th was exactly the same result.
Tracking information said it's out for delivery again, but didn't arrive, and on the site, it said it went back to the facility. I'm not very happy at this point. It's an expensive item, and it's for work. I need it. So I called Amazon, and they didn't have much information, except there's a 24 hour window for them to deliver (which already passed since they didn't deliver 2nd day), but since Amazon said they should deliver by Dec 1st, I waited. Then on tracking info, it stated there is a delay with no additional info on deliveries. I gave benefit of doubt since the deadline given for the delayed delivery was Dec 2nd. Dec 2nd came and still, no package in sight. All my other items I ordered later on other days had all arrived, but this one hadn't. I looked up the UPS website using my tracking number, and they mentioned mechanical failure delaying delivery, but what is it? Who knows. It wasn't clear.
I tried to call UPS but its machine didn't give me option to talk to agent at all, and only gave less than the info I had on websites about the delay (it simply stated the package was delayed, not even mentioned the mechanical problem). So I called Amazon, they were very helpful, stayed with me on phone, and called UPS on other line. I was on phone with Amazon for ALMOST AN HOUR...and they still couldn't get through to UPS to ask their agent where is my item and why it's delayed, especially when it had been sent out to delivery twice on Nov 29th and 30th but being returned to facility for unknown reasons.
What is this unknown unexplained "mechanical" problem? What can a mechanical problem be with a box? They have plenty of trucks, so even if a truck broke down, there can be other trucks. Was a scanner broken? But I'm sure they have more than one scanner. WHAT IS THE MECHANICAL PROBLEM that is causing my item to be delayed?? No idea. No way to find out. CAN SOMEONE HELP???
UPS apparently doesn't care enough to help. None of its help center (which is all machine) is helpful. Even the help chat is machine, not real person behind it, just like the help phone, and giving only general information that you can find online already. Why would a help center provide info that is already available? People contact help center to get help that they can't find elsewhere! I tried to email them. I'll wait and see. If they respond properly with helpful information, I may change the review here. But for now, all avenues I tried to get help with UPS did not help, and worse, cannot even be really utilized, especially the phone.
Moreover, where is my item?? Why should Amazon have to lose business because of a stupid carrier service like UPS? I will never ever use UPS to ship anything after this. I can't help it that sellers use UPS for their shipments, and I have no choice in that. But I will never ever be a shipper with UPS. Their service is horrible! Sometimes, they don't even ring the doorbell and assume no one is home and not leave the package (I work from home... I'm always home). HELLO! There is a doorbell. Please ring it! Knocking on the door is not going to help because no one can really hear their taps (unless they pound on the door, which to their credit, they don't). But for this incident, there wasn't even an attempt to deliver, or if there was, no attempt to come to my door to deliver, only staying on the truck or something, or in their facility or something. Did someone steal the item from their end? I don't know.
I am writing a lot because I'm very upset. I need my Chromebook for work. I took a long time to find the right laptop for me, I paid a good amount of money for it, and I have Amazon Prime, which means I should get it faster. That's fine, things happen. It's Holidays time, it gets busy. I can understand. But then UPS not having a real helpline to actually help their customers...that is completely WRONG! Who has the time to sit around for an hour on the phone (with no one picking it up?) Even the Amazon help staff was calling - a corporation calling them - and still no result. What kind of business relations is this??

I’ve waited all day for the package then at 8 pm the status changes to "In transit, estimated delivery unavailable". I’ve been waiting on this package for a week because of “delays” due to inclement conditions. UPS needs to get their act together. They know what happens during the holidays. They know a lot of packages get sent out. They need to be prepared for it. Obviously they’re not. Still waiting at 9:20 pm when the driver finally arrives. We hear him going through the truck from inside the house more than likely searching for the packages. He comes to the door with three. Two that were due to be delivered yesterday and one due tomorrow. The one that was supposed to come today is AWOL. When asked about the 4th package, he said he could not find it on the truck but he is busy and will bring it Thursday.
Thursday... The package has been rescheduled for delivery today between 3:30 and 7:30pm. At 9pm we are still waiting and call UPS Corporate. After waiting on hold for close to an hour we talked to a rep who said they were sorry but the package will be rescheduled for Friday (same time) and someone from the Edison terminal will call us on Friday at 10. Friday... No call received at 10am... At 8pm we are still waiting for the delivery. UPS Corporate says they will have someone call from Edison in 15-20 minutes. Updated on 12/05/2017: Rant goes on, "You'll get it when you get it" is what I was told when UPS called me back from the EDISON NJ Terminal. She stated that the truck would come in from its route late and my package was pushed to the front of the still loaded truck and then more stuff loaded on back of truck. So I asked why don't they move the packages that did not get deliver to the back of the truck so they would get delivered, she yelled it was not her problem and it was the terminal manager's problem. I have next day air shipment with UPS. It should deliver on Thursday. Online tracking shows technical issue cant update. About 9 pm in evening I have contacted UPRS by phone. There was a wait of 30 minutes to talk with representative. Once representative came on phone, I asked for shipment update and he said, "Your shipment is on vehicle. It will be deliver today." I asked it's already 9:30 pm and online tracking dont show that shipment is on vehicle. He replied, "I have checked. Shipment is with Driver. It will be deliver today. Due to holiday season we will deliver up to 11 pm." On that day I did not receive shipment.
Next day morning again I called UPS. Another 30 minutes wait and representative said, "I am not sitting in your state so I can not do anything, I am sending message to the local office and they will open at 9 am then they will call you between 9 to 10 am. You will get call from local office between 9 to 10 am." Until 10:15 am I did not receive any call or any update about shipment, I called again to UPS with another 30 minutes wait, representative said, "I put another request and you will get a call from local office within 10-15 minutes to take next step on your shipment." Till 12 pm there is no call from UPS. I really dont know what they want to do. I have asked for next day air because I need it urgently and they are not replying properly. Now shipment status update out for delivery again.
My concern is all three representative just made stories. No one provide correct information. They are just trying to pass the time and wait to shipment deliver. They know once shipment will deliver customer will forget this. Again and again 3 call each time 30 minutes long wait, they made stories about local office will call you but no one reply. It is really frustrated as not getting shipment on time. Also all the representative trying to make fool to customer. No one gave correct information. They just wait to deliver shipment because they believe once shipment will deliver customer will forget.
Very pathetic service from UPS. My concern is I have paid or requested for next day air, if you cant deliver next day air then why you take shipment. I can go to FedEx and ask for next day air. Second concern is shipment can be delay due to rush but all the representative are trying to make customer fool. No one gave correct information. No one gave follow up call to verify does issue was resolved or not. They were just delaying to wait for the shipment delivery. Every time when I call UPS minimum 30 minutes wait. No one has time in busy life to wait for 30 minutes on hold and after 30 minutes long wait representatives are giving false information. I gave only one star because cant go below than that.

When the UPS guy and no package, I called again and again, told same thing, was out with a different driver. WHEN 5 pm came and still no package, I called again and got Tre ID # ** and she said the same thing... will be delivered. WHEN 6pm came and went and still no package, I called again and got Megan ID # ** and she said that the package was not being delivered today that it was never on the truck, it missed the truck... THEN I went on the website and requested assistance and as of yet, now that it shows it is being delivered today. I get a message from the website chat. I can't tell you how many bad experiences I've had with UPS... I've lost count. What I can tell you is that any time I have a package coming that requires a signature (always from Verizon when getting a new phone... Like today), I can guarantee you it won't show up when scheduled. I will take a day off from work to be here to sign for the package... Become a prisoner in my own house waiting for UPS to show. 7 p.m. passes... No UPS. 8 p.m., still no UPS. Chat with CSRs who "assure me the package will be delivered today"... except, no it will not be delivered today. Maybe tomorrow. Who knows. But I can't keep taking days off to sign for it and have no other options - can't have it delivered to work because it's not an option.
No neighbors to sign for it for me, either. They suggest I go pick it up at UPS - 15 miles away. Excuse me? How about your driver do their job, the one they are getting paid to do??? They charge a hefty amount to ship and then want you to go retrieve it??? Packages requiring signature should be the first ones delivered. Or have a separate delivery truck just for those packages. I'm sorry but there's no excuse whatsoever for not delivering a "signature required" package on the scheduled day, unless the driver was in an accident! But this has happened to me so many times, like I said... I've lost count. I HATE UPS!!!

Not good experience. My packages were held up here for three days without a move, not sure why not delivered to my house. After several chat and phone sessions with UPS, I was told to pick up at this location, which wasn't what discussed during the phone and chat. Called this location, a gentleman answered the phone, but couldn't find my stuff by tracking number, but tried by my last name and found my packages, and then told me that I could come over to pick up at the moment. So I drove there after hang up the phone, but only being stopped at the security gate, told me the pickup time window is only 8am-9am and 7pm-8pm. Tried to call that phone number back, no one picked up the phone. What a waste! There isn't customer service here.
Update: Spent an hour on the road and 30 minutes waiting, then was told my packages were not ready for pickup, have to come back tomorrow. When I asked what time, the guy said not sure, just around 11 am or so. This facility only open 8am-9m and 7pm-8pm, so I asked for a note with what he told me, so I can present the note to the security guard, he refused to do so. The guard on duty promised to talk to his supervisor and call me back before 10 pm tonight. Well, we'll see. Update 2: Security guard called back, told me the package won't be ready tomorrow for pickup. He doesn't know if I will get a notice or not for pickup. Have no idea what can be done. He simply gave up. Update 3: Spent about an hour with UPS agent on live chat. Make the story short, I was told to wait for tomorrow from this facility to call me about the status. The UPS web tracking is a joke.

My main complaint is with their website. I find it confusing and ineffective. In this day of modern technology most services seem to use the internet to improve performance. UPS seems to have missed the boat. The painful process of receiving a package via UPS begins with a useless and complex email stating that something's arriving tomorrow anytime between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. That doesn't really help anyone plan their day, does it? Next it offers make believe options, such as assigning it to a UPS store nearby, holding it at the airport, or rescheduling for another useless 12 hour window on another day. In my most recent delivery everything but, hold at the airport, was grayed out and not an option for some reason. When I clicked on the airport option the program froze. Today I got another email saying, "We tried to deliver and you weren't home".
Now my package is stuck on the truck and I'll be locked in a tug of war for several days to get it back to the airport where I can pick it up. This is not an isolated case, this happens every ** time I get a package from UPS. Here's a suggestion UPS, if you're going to email people and ask them what delivery option they want don't load it on the truck until you hear back from them. Why keep carting stuff around all day making it impossible for the customer to get it when you don't even know if they are going to be around to receive it. Also, put a big phone number on the email that says... “call here 24/7 to talk to a rep if you have a problem...” and answer the phone.

If I could give a negative -1 I would! The entire process was and still is a completely horrific experience. First, the website was not working properly, so an agent had to enter my info., and I had to create an account... DON’T DO IT! Since I was moving my mother with me to another state I didn’t have my computer to print labels, so she said a driver would bring them between 10am-2pm. And quoted a price and assured me it wouldn’t go over a certain rate. That’s laughable. It cost way more and the driver never showed. I called and they told me, "Oh, it’s up to 7pm." The guy came an hour after I called without any manual slips and had no idea he was getting the boxes, so I had to write everything on each box. This was after he called his supervisor. Now... That’s 1 supervisor.
I shipped boxes from state to state; items were in a box that were fragile/Glass on all 4 sides, and marked as such with the proper wrapping and insulation to prevent damages, as well as other boxes. Well, that didn’t matter because the boxes were smashed, large holes out of the box and missing pieces of the box! I had to file a report and the entire time the customer service kept telling me it shipped from the destination. It didn’t; I was the shipper and destination and I was there for the pickup and the arrival. I had to talk to a supervisor about that. Then I had to talk to another supervisor about the charges added I wasn’t told about and wasn’t on my account. More calls and no resolution for damages or charges. I was on hold for over 40 mins., because a supervisor had to be involved and I was told specific charges were taken off.
This is all within 5 days. Someone else called me and had the story mixed up again. Another supervisor about the damages. An agent took all of my info for the damages and I was told 2 days later, 1 Damage file was approved and the other wasn’t... Didn’t make sense. But ok. I get another call 2 days later saying nothing was on file and I would get a form sent... Nothing came, they entered my email wrong. I had to call again! Sorry, if I’m jumping all over but I am so irritated with this!
The next day I get a call stating I wanted to ship something and file for damages... Huh? I told her no. That’s incorrect. It’s already been shipped and received by me, and had to go through the entire scenario again. I told her I just wanted the invoice, my Damage compensation and I didn’t want anyone else calling me from UPS. Really... 2 days later I get the invoice and none of the credits are there. I call again. This rep says there is nothing in the file and it has to go to finance AGAIN!!? So needless to say, someone from UPS has to call me again... REALLY!!! This is by far the worst experience ever, and I will NEVER ship anything UPS home pick up again!! Incompetence. 0 communication between departments and I still have to wait again for someone to get back with me “tomorrow”???

I know that sometimes packages can be delayed but the Lenexa, KS, facility is particularly bad. I've never seen a package that gets delayed there come out in less than 3 days. It just sits there, regardless of the time of year and package flow. I contacted customer service about my most recent package delivery 3 times in 2 days without a successful response:
By chat: oh man was this frustrating. Their overall response was that I should just keep waiting and watching the website. NO RESOLUTION. Called their number since their chat was down. The lady was nice and understanding. She said she put an urgent message to the Lenexa branch to have the manager call me within the hour. Hour and a half with still no call. Called an hour and a half after the first call. Was told they had a physical scan for the package being on the truck. It's now after 8 PM CST and they're saying it could be delivered any time (experience told her it could be as late as 10 PM CST).
Now for my next issue: there is a discrepancy in their records. They received 2 destination scans from Lenexa, KS. They posted 2 updates (an exception saying it would be delayed a day and "Out for Delivery") from Lenexa, MO (if anyone can find this city on a map I'd really like to know). I'm still waiting for the package. Honestly at this point it would have been easier to drive out to the place and pick it up myself (several days drive). Furthermore, I haven't ever seen my UPS guy deliver a package to my house any time after 4 PM CST. It being after 8 PM makes me sincerely doubt that he will actually deliver the package today even though they keep saying it will be delivered today. Also can't give me an update on where the package is by contacting the driver.

I really don't write a lot of reviews, but my recent horrendous experience with UPS has really compelled me to sign up here and write a review. I ordered a package that should have arrived from the 22nd at the earliest to the 27th at the latest, and have yet received anything. It's been updated to 'out for delivery' about 4 times, only to be delayed to the next day or rescheduled. They had the audacity to even put 'delivery attempted' on the first day, which was complete BS, since I was home that entire day (I would had received a notice at the door even if I wasn't present).
I finally had to email and call UPS in order to get anywhere. The lady on the phone said my package would arrive today, or that they would AT LEAST call me by the end of the day if it didn't, but neither of these happened. I'm sure their disorganized crew has the box lost somewhere in their warehouse, so I'm guessing it's bound to be found. In any case, I'll probably be expecting this package a few days later, despite it being already a day late. For anyone using UPS that finds anything wrong or suspicious with their tracking, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you contact them by phone or email and pester them to get your package delivered on time. This is honestly the worst experience I've had with a shipping service.

UPS is absolutely a cluster for a company. I signed up for their online account at UPS.com. I had one package years ago sent to a UPS store as I was not in town. Years later I still cannot get UPS to stop sending packages there. When my new iPhone was shipped it took an additional week for me to pick up because of this little glitch. I had to speak with 3 different UPS customer support reps all with different answers, all telling me I would receive the package the next day. At long last I had to call Apple and with a conference call that I had to set up we got to the bottom of this and I had to go down to the distribution point and get my package.
When I called UPS to resolve this, I was told I needed to upgrade my account in order to change this "feature" on. Delivery to my own address. I have informed everyone that I know not to use UPS anymore. My business will not use them anymore, I have canceled my accounts with UPS. I will no longer use UPS for Amazon orders. The fact that I had to spend hours on the phone, on hold, for several days in order to get a packaged with my own name and my own address to be delivered is absurd.

Extremely dissatisfied with the delivery service from UPS. I receive emails from UPS when my package is delivered. Our driver puts on the email that he left it at the front door, however we are home and there is no package left at any door. We live approximately 300 ft from the street which is also a very busy street. On 11/25/17 the package he said that he left at the front door was never found and we were home. UPS said that they will investigate but we haven't heard a thing. Last evening another email came through at 8:15 and said 3 packages were left at the front door.
Again, we were home so we looked at all entrances and there were no packages. My husband decided to drive down to the street and all the packages were crushed into our mailbox! This also happened a couple of months ago and I was told by UPS that they are not supposed to use the US post box and they would speak to the driver. Why order items that are delivered by UPS if they are really not going to deliver to our door? They really need to train their drivers or fire them!

I am usually the patient type, but the constant ** ups are becoming truly spectacular. For starters, how in the flying ** do you manage to deliver a big box with a baby stroller in it to the wrong address? How do you walk into a building with the number already on it, sit a package in front of an apartment and it turns out to not be the right apartment nor the right building? How do you manage to screw up a "self appointed" delivery to one of the lockers, and it turns out that after said drop off, the package was not dropped off. So not only does one get the "delivered" email, but also the "not delivered" one a few minutes later, causing a cluster** of confusion that the customer service reps can not answer for. One would assume that if the drivers are tired, actually walking and moving around delivering packages should not be where they drop the ball. We may need to reconsider our USPS, and not this privatized for profit trash that does not work on weekends.

UPS has a history of frequent deliveries to the wrong location, including this past week. The correct location is clearly marked at the street and noted on the package label (the address). In addition, at the location where UPS dumps packages, a sign is posted prohibiting the dumping of packages there in two languages and accompanied by a very simple diagram directing them where to go. The property is in a very easy-to-find location. Some drivers deliver correctly, but others do not.
Apparently, at least some drivers do not read. They also toss packages over a gate or wall. A long time ago, I tried without success for almost two years to get UPS to fix this problem. I am giving the online retailer from whom we order heavily one more shot and so far, they are failing and another package reportedly "delivered" is not here.
UPS will not go get the wrongly-delivered package and deliver to me. I have stopped ordering from the online retailer and notified them of the problems. I am so fed up this time around that if the retailer doesn't fix this, I am giving up online ordering unless a different and reliable carrier can be guaranteed. It appears UPS does not care. If they had to go back and pick up the wrong deliveries and properly deliver them in the same day, I think they could improve. If there is no accountability for wrong deliveries, how they improve?

I was informed by UPS that I would receive a package on Saturday Nov. 25th by end of day. In my UPS My Choice App, it informed me also that the package would be delivered by the end of the day on Nov 25th. After waiting all day for the package, and changing my plans to be home, at 9pm I called customer service to find out what was happening. I was told that the package is on its way and would be delivered that day, even though it's after hours on a Saturday night.
At midnight I called back to announce that the package had not been delivered on Saturday, as promised. I was then told that the package was never even on the truck to be delivered and it would therefore be delivered on Monday Nov 27th. Why UPS informed me in writing by e-mail and via its app that it would come on Saturday Nov 25 "by end of day" if the package was never placed on the truck? Why did the UPS representative tell me at 9 pm that it was still on its way if it was not even on the truck? Why does UPS FAQ on its website say that the tracking information that a customer receives is accurate if in fact it's not? The tracking system had no idea where my package was, as it showed it in transit to be delivered "on time" for Saturday Nov 25th. During the midnight call I was told by a supervisor that they'd arrange for morning delivery on Monday Nov 27th. I asked for a specific time so I'm not wasting another day waiting.
Today Monday Nov 27th, I receive a message from UPS that it would be delivered between 1:30 and 5:30 pm. Again I'm wasting my time waiting for the package. UPS has done absolutely nothing to remedy the situation. I've lost hours in calls, e-mails, and messages with UPS. I feel that UPS has breached the contract to deliver the package as promised, misrepresented, and perhaps fraudulently misrepresented, when the package would be delivered. It has completely failed, yet all it can say is "We understand" and "We apologize" without taking any action whatsoever to minimize my damages. UPS should be held accountable when they tell a customer a package would be delivered on Saturday and then fail to do so after the customer waited all day for the package!

This is not the first time something like this happened, among FedEx, USPS and UPS, UPS usually have the worst service and most fake attempts.

Pay for 3 day shipping. Item is in Washington state, destination is Southern California. That’s 2 states away. (In case you work for UPS and don’t know where anything is!) Tuesday item starts shipping process. Wednesday morning package is in Oregon, one state away. 4 hours later, package is in... KENTUCKY??? UPS says package is in “transit” and will arrive on time on Monday! And Kentucky is where they port everything, so if I send a package down the street, it will have to go to Kentucky first! Yeah! So not efficient, and that’s what the tech on the phone called it, “efficient”!!! Also UPS uses other businesses, as pick up places. If you weren’t home they will leave the package at a nearby business where you can pick it up. They never leave door tags, probably since it has info on it and if they wouldn’t leave the package in my ghetto neighborhood, why would they leave the door tag? Realized package never came after some time.
Called UPS. They could not locate the package. Said it was lost. Hour later, it’s found at a nearby pizza/tamale factory. Yes, I typed that right. So I go to pick up my item. Pizza tamale place employee asks for my ID. What? He can’t even speak English? I’m supposed to show my identity to him and trust in him? Haha! Showed him anyway, he wouldn’t accept my California driver’s license! Great state to live in by the way (not)! So I call UPS from the parking lot 5 different times! I told them to tell him to give me MY BELONGINGS, because they did not belong to the pizza/tamale place or him! Nope! I had to have the package sent to the pick up facility down by the Mexican border, that requires a toll road for $3.50 each way! To make my UPS experience wayyyy better, after finally driving way out of my way, after a 9 hour work day too, the original package had clearly been opened and re-taped shut. Awesome!
So that’s why the pizza/tamale guy wouldn’t give me MY package! Because he opened it! But when he discovered car parts for a 99 Mitsubishi, he apparently didn’t want them! Oh thanks UPS! Thanks for making me appreciate common sense and not having to deal with you. UPS’ existence is just to make us appreciate FedEx and USPS much more.

When you are expecting an expensive gift you ensure that it is sent through a protected delivery service. I spent four days on the phone with UPS to make sure that my package was delivered to a protected pick up point. I even had confirmation of that fact in writing. Came home to find the package thrown in the middle of the driveway of my multi-unit apartment building!!! No signature. Just thrown in the middle of the driveway as if the driver drove by slowly and threw it out of the vehicle without getting out! I will specifically ask from now on if a supplier uses UPS and if they do I will not buy from them.

Just got a call from a company that I ordered medical supplies, telling me that the package was returned marked address not correct. This is about the 25th time this has happened when anything is shipped to us using UPS. I have lived at this address since 1978 and have been receiving packages by UPS for about 10+ yrs. I think that some of their drivers are just plain lazy as my address can be found by using Google. And I have a mailbox on the road plainly marked, plus my husband painted the number on the concrete drive at the road. Now I get to pay a second shipping charge due to their sorry drivers.
I would love to know why most of their drivers can find our house. Out of 5 deliveries a month, we usually get 3-4 of them with no problem. And it is always worse during the holidays, which is most likely when they hire new drivers. The supplier tells me they will try to ship again, but if it is returned, I will have to drive about 40mi to their office to get these medical supplies. I truly hate UPS and their shoddy service.

Really bad experiences with UPS. Ordered some gifts for my mom two weeks ago, and felt so excited! UPS really ruined it. First package was delivered to a place only UPS knew. I was at home at the time it was delivered, but the truck never showed. I called the UPS the second day and that case is still under investigation currently.
I called the store. They re-shipped a new package to me. This time, I paid extra money to make sure I could get the package on time -- UPS 3 day select. The package was supposed to arrive on Nov. 16. I waited the whole day at home so I could sign for the package. But no luck, the package got stuck in Ontario which I got notified on Nov 17. Those guys knew it already on Nov. 16. Could not they notify me so I do not need to waste time waiting for them the whole day? It was stuck in Ontario for two days, where is only 2-3 hours away from San Diego. The package did arrive San Diego on Nov. 18, but I could not get it, as it is Saturday, they do not work on Saturday.
I called UPS many times since Nov. 17, asking for help. Only answer is no. I told them I can go to pick up the package, no matter how far it is. Same answer - no, they cannot help. The earliest day I could get it is Nov 20. I submitted a complain on UPS website, and they returned an email to me. In the email, what looks like is the inconvenience they caused is inconvenience to me, not to them. The package is rescheduled to deliver on Nov. 20, then I should just wait, check online regularly, and wish nothing wrong this time. They just could not help. But my flight is Nov. 19. I rushed to local stores to pick gifts for my mom. For the gifts I chose carefully for my mom, maybe UPS can keep them as a gift -- thanks for their "great" service! Two packages, one lost, one delayed, what a "great" company!

I have had several horrible experiences with UPS and their delivery. The first incident my package arrived in my city and kept saying arrived then sent out and arrived for several days. Then it was finally out for delivery. I waited all day and never received my package. All of a sudden my tracking says "A required security check has delayed delivery." How does this happen after it was already on a truck out for delivery. I don't get an update for a couple days and I have spent multiple days calling and trying to figure out where my stuff is.
I finally get my order but I can tell that someone has cut the label off the original box and stuck it on a tiny envelope with one item. The worker has stolen 5 of the items I had ordered. When I called UPS they tried to claim my order was only 3 pounds so nothing was missing. A tiny item the size of a golf ball does not weigh 3 pounds. They refused to help and said I had to contact who I ordered from and it was their problem. The next incident I had two orders to be delivered. One box they delivered was completely crushed and damaged all the items in the box and my other order they said they delivered but I never received.
The most recent incident I had two orders coming. They were sent out from the same location with similar time stamps. However my order I didn't received kept bouncing all over the place. I received the small order that wasn't important. However the second one didn't show up. I canceled plans to stay home all day to make sure not to miss the delivery. It hits 7pm with no delivery. I continue to wait and check the status and what do you know I get the "A required security check has delayed delivery" message again. This is frustration and I will be furious if my package gets stolen again.

I received my all item except boarding bag, then I called UPS and you will feel strange that the UPS said, "It is not me, It is the store from where you shipped the Item". Then I contacted UPS Miami (UPS Store #2791). Then the store manager Jimmy, he said he will look and after a follow up of three months he said, "We didn't find the package, so I will give you $100", and I should let you know that the shipping cost of that bag was $70, he said that, "We can pay you more than that because our policy is that we won't give more than $100 as it was not insured".
I said, "Ok. I am fine with that also but what about my shipping charge" then he said, "No we will a portion of that". Then I said, "Keep that money as charity to UPS and to the manager Jimmy and family from my side". UPS cheated me, so guys always take insurance, Even cheater can cheat you after having insurance as well.

I ordered a life-saving medical device that we needed urgently from Inogen. I paid for overnight delivery. UPS attempted delivery at 2:30pm on Friday but did not leave the package as they claimed it required a signature. I was not told I needed to be home for a signature. In fact, when the Inogen representative called me at 4pm, he told me that he had received confirmation that the package had been delivered. I mentioned to him I was not at home but would be in about an hour. He told me he would be gone but if I had any questions setting up the machine, there was a customer service number in the instruction packet. Not once did he suggest I needed to be there.
At 4:30pm when I got home and found no package, I called UPS to explain that I had paid for overnight delivery and need the package Friday, at the latest Saturday. The phone agent indicated that he had been able to contact the Los Angeles representative and that they had tracked the package and could deliver it Friday and would by calling be back within the hour. He repeated my phone number to me to be make sure he had the correct number. I rearranged my plans on Friday to be able to received the phone call and get home for the delivery. No one called me back.
When I called again to follow up, I was told it would not happen and I would get the package on Monday. They could not reach the facility where the package was because the facility was closed on Saturday. But when I first called the facility was open. Why didn't they get to a driver or another facility? UPS has Saturday deliveries. Why weren't they able to deliver on Saturday, or at least call me back as they had committed to? This is a life-saving device that was needed urgently!
When I called back several times, the customer service representatives including supervisors were rude and disrespectful. Yes, part of the blame goes to the manufacturer, if, in fact, they requested the signature and did not advise me. I called them and they could not help either, but UPS HAS the package and they HAVE Saturday deliveries. I paid a substantial amount of money to receive this overnight and it will arrive 3 days late. At best, this makes our life, which is already complicated by severe chronic health disabilities, more difficult. At worst, this could have endangered a life.

I chose to work from home today, I could have gone to my work studio where I have the technology to do better work but I stayed home so I could receive my packages. They said they attempted to deliver and I wasn't home. LIES. I'm so sick of it! And apparently after doing some research, I found out I'm not alone. This happens to lots of people.
UPS: Stop hiring lazy people who drive past my apartment and don't even bother trying to deliver my packages. It's getting ridiculous. I pay for shipping then I have to go pick it up myself. It makes no sense. It's gotten to the point that I won't buy from certain companies anymore if they use UPS to deliver their packages. I realize I live in an apartment, but it's on a busy street, I know it's findable but it feels like I'm in some Bermuda Triangle. I contacted UPS customer care and they said they will check with local office. The local office a day later confirmed the product was damaged in transit and was returned to sender, which led to a complicated refund from Lenovo that took more than 2 months.
(2) Tracking # ** - The product undelivered because according to UPS "The receiver has moved. I doubt this will be delivered. I will never use UPS and I recommend anyone who wants to find a good service, try DHL, FedEx, USPS... anything but UPS. In the last 2 months I have had to deal with UPS twice in very different situations and both times they have totally failed to deliver as expected. Additionally, in both situations of failed performance there is zero accountability. Customer is left with nothing to do but use FedEx which I intend to do when it is important and I am making the shipping decisions. In the first situation, I overnighted a key to my brother in law who was going to stay at my home while he was in town for business and I was out of town on vacation. In this situation, they "forgot" to put the package on the truck from their distribution center so it was not delivered in time for my brother in law's business trip. There was no recourse for the failed delivery - they could not redirect it to the location of the business trip and would not provide a refund.
In the second situation I was having a critical prescription delivered to my home that I needed to take for ongoing treatments on the day the package was scheduled to be delivered. I came home to see the package had not been delivered and checked the account and saw that the package was listed as undeliverable due to wrong address. This was funny because I receive mail to that address and I was currently standing at the address. I called the customer service line. The first person I spoke to said there was nothing they could do for me and would have to just try again. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she hung up on me.
The second person I spoke to looked at the system and realized the mistake was because the truck driver went to the wrong address (X Road vs. X Street) so the error was on her side. She said she would file a ticket and I would be called from the local facility within one hour with arrangements to receive the package tonight. In 50 minutes, I received a call from a "local facility" from San Francisco (I live in Boston). The person here told me that she was calling to schedule my delivery processing. This was wrong in two ways - as I was not in San Francisco and was looking to confirm a delivery. This person told me that she would redirect my call. I asked not to be hung up on and she told me that she looked into it and that she was given my number in error and that my original ticket was still open and I would be contacted shortly.
After 20 more minutes (well outside of the original hour) I called back to the customer service line. They told me they were still looking into my ticket. They put me on hold. During the second call, my husband took it upon himself to try to call the local facility directly which he says he was able to do before. He got someone in what he seemed to think was a call center with a heavy accent. This person said they did not have the ability to contact anyone at a facility directly, but could update the information in the system. He told this person to put in the system the delivery was "urgent".
Eventually someone picked up on my hold and said they spoke with my husband who had arranged delivery for tomorrow. This was not the case. They said they would check into it and that it was possible that I could pick it up. I did not think this is a satisfactory solution as I am not the one who made the delivery error on a critical package. The person, who I was told was a supervisor, put me on hold and then came back and told me that my husband had arranged it for tomorrow and there was absolutely nothing they could do. This is a blatant lie and misrepresentation. Then I cried because this was so stressful and I needed the medicine which I was now told I would not receive. I had been at this for 2 hours already.
Finally, I call the shipper (CVS) and explain to them that I would not be able to take the medicine as prescribed in advance of my procedure and that the fault was UPS and UPS was not amenable to doing anything to fix it. They tell me they will try to arrange with UPS because they should deliver it (duh) and put me on hold. Then miraculously UPS calls me while I am on hold and tells me they will deliver my package. At 9 PM a man in a UPS van delivered my package.
The only thing that rectified this was CVS's customer service. UPS made the situation unbearable and took no accountability for their mistake until it came from a corporate contact. The way I was treated was dehumanizing. I didn't get an acknowledgement they made a mistake. Everyone I spoke with at UPS did nothing to help me. It was just such a negative and reprehensible incident.

If he knocks at all it’s once, quietly. By the time I stand he’s already gone and the notice, on the first attempt mind you, states he’s bringing it to a pickup location. Is it really delivery if I ALWAYS have to go somewhere else to pick it up?? I get no say, I can’t request him to leave the package or anything.
Furthermore posted right on our door, states that the apartment complex accepts packages. We pay them to do this. He never goes there. Yet he has no problem making us wait an extra day to bring it across town. If I’m getting a package delivered by UPS it’s because Amazon chose them, not because I had a choice. If I did I would never use their services. We’ve also contacted their customer service to no end. They say a rep will call and then never does.

I'm waiting for medication from the Veterans Admin and the website tells me it's out for delivery. Upon checking again later in the day it's been delayed one day. Fine, however, I see the truck outside my drive way and he drives away. Again I call and I get lip service telling me the same thing I'm reading on the screen. OK, where's my package with them being so close and not delivering. I get suspicious so they wait through two more of my calls telling me the same thing. Now at 9:00 pm they call the driver and he's gone. Of course as my suspicion revealed the package had been tampered with and the drivers didn't want to put their name to it. I get it. The first time I called I could have found another way to deal. No, I trusted UPS. DUMB. Now they're advising me to call the VA and have them replace the shipment of medication. Everything is easy when you're not the one doing it. Thank you for doing your country a service by screwing their service men.

I have learned not to use them to ship anything due to so many lost packages, late deliveries and horrible customer services. But sometimes things get shipped from the other end using UPS which is unfortunately out of my control. Literally every single time I get a package from them something goes wrong. This time only one of my 2 packages delivered 4 days late. When I asked the driver where the other package was I was instantly given an attitude and told it's "not my problem… I'm just the driver."
When I called I was put on hold for 45 mins then told I will now have to wait until Monday after waiting all week for only ONE of the packages what were both sent at the same time from the same location from the same person. 80% of the people I've dealt with on the phone are just as rude if not more rude than the delivery driver and they LOVE to place customers on hold for up to an hour at a time. For some reason they can never give me a window of time when he'll arrive so I will have to take another whole day off to make sure I'm here for when they ring my bell... if they even show up. I am beyond sick of this terrible company.

I usually just prefer going to the stores and buying what I need but in this case I was not fortunate enough to be able to do so. So I ordered online and tracked my package on a daily basis. It said it arrived On Sept. 25 between the hours of 1:30pm and 5:30pm. I knew I wouldn't be home but I had my mom wait for me. She said she stood by the window all day and not once did someone come by to deliver the package and I tracked it to see where it would be and they dropped it off elsewhere. Last time with my debit card as they no longer print them out in the branch. It was the same situation. They did not bring it to me, they took it to the same store as this time. They need to check that their employees are actually delivering the packages because in no way would my mother have missed that package and second, it just gets in the way of my errands because I don't have a way to pick it up somewhere else. Everything they don't want to do their job.

Some of my Amazon deliveries happen through UPS. They mess up each and every delivery sometimes even when shipping is paid. I signed up for UPS My choice because I was expecting some travel documents and requested UPS to hold them at their office so I could pick them up. UPS applies the same policy for my Amazon orders.
They do not understand simple things that with Amazon I expect home delivery! Why would I order a child bike seat from Amazon only to pick it up from the office? The agent says it is because I set my My Choice preference to deliver to a access point. Whoever designed the algorithm does not have the common sense to note that customers do not want to pick up Amazon deliveries at access point.

Have received and returned more products that were crushed beyond usability than any other service. Have seen and photographed carriers putting packages like a football, tossing large and expensive boxed items over a fence, placing them beside a home (in the bushes), not knocking on a door to sign for a package, saying a package was delivered when actually the driver made no attempt to deliver. Sadly, UPS pushed the barrel over and got the scum beneath to be their drivers. Know for a fact they hire convicted felons!

UPS is the worst. I refuse to send or receive packages from them. I'll pay extra for FedEx, who treat packages, especially fragile ones with care. Several employees often just dump the heavy packages 100 ft. from my front door at the driveway gate. Not only does that invite thieves, but makes it difficult with a disability to get the package from that far off or even to move it out of blocking the driveway. There's a reason why some people want items delivered. Plus, many workers don't seem familiar with a Ring doorbell and just toss the package and go. Or some can't read address signs and dump packages elsewhere. (Have TWO address signs here, as do the neighbors). Odd numbers on one side of the street, even on the other! Other drivers are just fine, but when they mess up, it's a pain.

HOWEVER, UPS has a policy that if the carrier is running late and he "is in the area of the receiver " the carrier can mark the package as DELIVERED even though it hasn't reach the destination and into the hands of the receiver!! This policy is condoned and encouraged by UPS to avoid refunding the customer for a late delivery. This is EXACTLY what the Brooklyn NY manager/supervisor told me when my package was late. I was home and package was ready for pickup. No notice left and and neighbors did not see UPS truck on our street. Called each evening, verified all information including address and phone number, and was told problem was escalated and supervisor would call next day. No phone call and no pick up.
Called on 4th day and was told other customer service reps made mistakes!? I was told I would receive a call within an hour. No call. I called back and supervisor Josh in Salt Lake city again told it was escalated to highest priority and I would receive call in less than an hour. 3 hrs later... Surprise, no call. I have had 3 similar problems with deliveries just this year. These problems cost me time and money. Always blamed on glitches or other 'system failure'. I see online that UPS has lowest customer satisfaction among carriers and while I would like to continue using UPS I am uncertain with the company’s ability to serve its customers in the future.

I shipped 9 boxes from CA to GA, paying for additional insurance. A bit under $1500. First, delays and delays. When the first shipment arrived, the driver "rolled" my box. Top/bottom/top bottom, into my garage. I was aghast, told him the contents were important, and his treatment was irresponsible. He LAUGHED at me saying "If you want your things to arrive safely, you should use UPS”. The contents were damaged, as were the contents of almost all my other boxes. (They were all packed with great care. I have moved entire households cross country twice with damage only to a couple of ceramic items. They were all also packaged under the direction and help of a veteran UPS driver.)
UPS refused to honor my insurance, telling me over and over that "I used the wrong boxes and packing material and the boxes were too heavy". If that was the case, why did UPS accept them. They requested literally hundreds of photos, which I sent on a zip drive with an attached spreadsheet. Still, UPS wouldn't shell out a dime. They had no liability. After about 9 months of haggling and literally weeks of invested time, they finally made marginal restitution on a few items and I was reimbursed my shipping and insurance by filing a merchant dispute through my credit card company. I would never use UPS again, but if you choose to, be sure to pay with a credit card so you have some recourse. Lastly, google UPS complaints. You should find enough reading material to last the rest of your life.

I found this out through them, and now I can accurately judge the time it takes to deliver and receive items from overseas.
