The driver on my route is always polite, and professional. I order so many packages that he knows me by now. I can always look forward to receiving my packages in the condition for which it left the warehouse. If I'm not at home when big brown is delivering a package to me, I'm ok if my package is left on the front porch.

I am not happy with the way the driver just drops off the package, rings doorbell and walks off. Does not make sure that anyone can get the package and or make sure that the person who is receiving the package is there so it doesn't get taken by any other person. I have 8 roommates and I can think of at least one who would take it easily.

I've used UPS in the past and they did a great job. I recently had an item that weighed almost 100 # and my delivery person was a pretty large man. We live on and share a huge corner lot with a neighbor. For whatever reason, the delivery person chose to park approx. 70' away and roll the item on the dolly uphill. By the time he got to the house, he was exhausted and I turned back to see him basically dump the item off the dolly. I was glad there was no glass which could have broken or metal which could have dented. I was a little shocked but the item survived.

Most always received my packages on time, drivers have always been courteous and polite, delivered packages to door. Only once unsatisfied with delivery, when a package was left at gate not covered in plastic, it rained before I got home and the package got wet. Thank God it was something that water would not harm.

There are several issues with UPS delivery personnel. They absolutely refuse to ring the doorbell even though I've complained several times. They delivered several large packages, and instead of leaving it at the front door, it was left in front of the garage in the rain with no protection. I paid almost $150 for that delivery. They just toss smaller packages from the sidewalk to as close as they can get to the door without walking up the walkway. If they are busy, they have delayed deliveries up to 3 days, even though the site said it was on the truck for delivery. I only got it after the vendor complained.

I have a fenced yard with a gate that has a simple horseshoe shaped fastener...no lock. The UPS driver left it open when he came into the yard, thus raising the consequences of my not winning the scrum with the dogs at the door when he knocked. I asked him to please close the gate behind him when he came in. The next time he delivered he left the gate open when he came in, and the next time. I finally called and complained.
Then I got a delivery and the driver honked at the road. He honked again, so I thought he needed help and went out to open the gate. He was standing on the other side of the gate and wouldn't step into my yard, but he thrust out the tablet for me to go and sign. I went to him and signed the tablet, and he got into his truck and left. The gate was wide open and he left me with a sizable box to take through the yard. As an elderly person with medical issues I have found ordering online to be very convenient for me, especially as the items I order are brought to my door (unless Kevin is delivering).
I have called UPS about this 8 or 9 times. I have no hope that he will ever bring a box to my door. He honks and if I don't go out quickly, he sticks a note onto my fence and drives off. He is very unfriendly and seems to think that we are feuding. He is feuding, I am merely complaining about it. My dogs are always in my house unless I am outside with them. His opening the gate would not let my dogs out, because they are house pets and only go out to frolic when I am with them. Unfortunately, with the gate left open, when I go out to sign and get my package if one of my dogs got out of the house, they would enjoy their freedom until they were hit by a car, picked up by someone with no good intentions or returned on their own. But Kevin cannot in good conscience bring my package in and close the gate behind himself, and oddly enough, he is the only person who makes deliveries to me that has that problem with the gate.
FedEx closes my gate behind them when they bring a package to my door, and likewise, the lady that works for the Post Office brings packages to my door and closes the gate behind herself when she comes in, too. When I spoke with UPS the time before last, I was told that Kevin was getting a different route, but he is still wearing his uniform and driving the truck (which is what I think he really wants to do, because he certainly doesn't want to do his job). Since I am unable to drive, when Kevin doesn't do his job, I have to call someone to go and pick up my package from the UPS store.

All package have been delivered in good condition within expected delivery time-frame. Drivers have all been courteous, friendly, and helpful. The very few times I have had to return a package, that process worked fine, also. I would highly recommend this company based on my experiences.

Most deliveries arrive without incident but a few times deliveries were made and just left at front door. One was lost or stolen at Christmas time. Needless to say I had to try and find a replacement at the last minute. Luckily, I did not have to pay for the item in the end.

UPS is wonderful as far as delivering on time and on holidays. However I've seen (Many times) the driver throw the boxes instead of placing them down. This is totally disrespectful to the person receiving the (possibly broken/damaged) product!! In NYC I actually seen a driver tossing them out of the truck to the ground to later bring them into the building. We as customers don't pay to have our product treated like this.

More than half the time UPS does not ring our doorbell. It would be nice if they would ring doorbell every time. There's always someone home 99% of the time. Packages have been thrown over the fence or hidden behind something in yard. Can I ask for notification by ringing doorbell more often.

I receive packages, delivered by UPS, at least once a month. UPS deliveries are always on time. The drivers are always courteous. I have never received a damaged package. No matter what the weather is like, I can count on UPS. I highly recommend them. Some of the driveways the drivers back the trucks into are tricky so the drivers are skilled.

I receive a lot of packages via UPS, and overall I am quite pleased with their service. I really like the fact that I can track where my package is at any given time. I always know when my package will arrive. Sometimes, my packages arrive really beat up. If the sender has not packed it well, the contents are damaged.

My issue is primarily with the company that uses UPS to deliver products to FPO PSC boxes located at military bases overseas. In CONUS it may only take days or even a couple of weeks but overseas products end up being shipped by sea and take a couple of months.

I have had great experiences with UPS! I have created a profile on their site that I can specify where my packages can be either picked up or dropped off. With only the driver and myself having that knowledge, puts my mind at ease for the possibilities of being stolen. With the FREE service of being able to track your package(s) in real time, until the point of destination is absolutely GENIUS!!!! I personally recommend using UPS, as well as their app. It is very convenient, takes less than 10 minutes to set up and so simple to use. All of your packaging and shipping needs are met securely without any wait time nor speaking to anyone!

We have been very pleased with UPS and its drivers. They know what it takes to get the job done right up here in the mountains. UPS drivers have even found misdelivered packages from company X and delivered them to the correct destinations up here. They seem to be one of the few businesses that still know what it takes to provide true customer service.

UPS in Santa Fe will deliver package to USPS and that will delay delivery two days. Or USPS will shove box so tightly into community box it is very hard to get the box out. They are supposed to drive and deliver box to house but will not do it.

I love that UPS allows me to track my packages and sends me updates via text and/or email. This is a great company and I would highly recommend it to friends. I do wish that to have the package picked up for shipment from my home wasn't so expensive. I do love the service and the guarantee that UPS has. So I guess it's worth it. Have a UPS store in small towns or medium towns. It's a drag to have to drive 50 miles just to ship a package.

I live on a busy corner. My garage door is on the side of the house about 15 feet from the street. UPS almost always leave my boxes right there next to the traffic instead of taking them a few more feet to front door which has a gate and is more protected with much less visibility. USPS always puts my packages on the front porch. It is also VERY FRUSTRATING if you attempt to get hold of UPS if you have a problem because it is IMPOSSIBLE!! There is absolutely NO WAY to contact them. So the only solution is to avoid UPS delivery whenever possible.

Delivery people are now instructed to leave packages outside in the open if there's no answer at the door; I've noticed that most of them don't bother to knock or ring the doorbell anymore, they just leave the packages to be discovered. Ordered a book for school to be delivered to my home address. On March 1, 2018, I received an email that stated the package would be delivered between 9a - 1:30p (which is a time that they give you but it doesn't mean that they will come as I was told after 1:30p). I waited at home during this time, no delivery. Called "customer service" concerning this issue and was told that the package would be delivered sometime before the "end of the day". When asked what time was the "end of the day, was told 7pm. I waited until 8:30p, no delivery. I come home and a slip is on the door for a "missed" delivery at 9p.
March 5, 2018, 2nd delivery attempt, I decided to complete the previous delivery slip with signature to request package to be left at the door. I go to work, come home to another slip (on top of the first one) that says "signature required" to receive the package (which btw is a book!). I call UPS customer service and am told that the package will be available for pickup at a UPS local center and that I would receive a call when it was available. I received a voicemail stating that the package will be ready for pick-up between 8p-9p. I look online for directions and find out this pick-up location closes at 7pm!!! I call customer service again, I am told by rep. that "I can pick up the package tomorrow before 7pm" (so yeah, I have a job too so not sure how that's going to work). The rep insisted on repeating the same line over and over again so I asked to speak with a supervisor.
I was put on hold approximately 5-6 times to "transfer" me to a supervisor. Lo and behold, no supervisor answered or connected to the call. The rep stated that "he is not answering his phone". She also mentioned that the supervisor is not on duty so I asked her who has she been putting me on hold to "transfer" to? Told the rep that I would wait while she continued to contact the supervisor. I asked for a direct number, or a voicemail box to leave a message and was told that wasn't available. This call ended with the Rep telling me that she is leaving an email "message" for the supervisor to call (me) within the hour and to "look out for the phone call" (REALLY!). Needless to say, the call never came and I am still waiting to receive/pick up a book that was scheduled to be delivered 4 days ago! This is the worst experience that I have ever had. UPS your service was a complete disappointment! I ordered a new mattress that you were supposed to deliver. I logged into your "My UPS" online to get notifications on when my package would be delivered. I missed the first 2 "attempts" because your site did not update that the package was "on the truck" or "on its way". Today was the last straw. I did everything to prepare for this package to make sure I would get it. I left special delivery instructions to leave at my front door and I waived the signature but on top of that my fiance took a day off work so he would be home to accept the package. So here's where things went wrong...
Apparently it's the driver's discretion whether to agree to the "waive signature" rule. When you deliver to a house, you ring the door bell/knock on the door... How is a condo different? NO ONE knocked on the door. After getting in touch with the dispatcher, she was extremely rude saying she called through the intercom (no one picked up) but didn't physically go into the building to talk to security (which security was given instructions about this delivery by me in the morning). I realized the dispatcher wasn't completely honest because how could a "sorry we missed you" notice be placed on my mailbox if they never entered the building?

First time I called I could not even understand the guy who answered, obviously in another country, could not understand what I am calling for either, transferred me to a supervisor who also barely spoke English also but insisted on ARGUING with me and picking at everything I was saying instead of actually trying to figure out a solution to why I was calling. It was literally the most ridiculous thing ever. Hung up and called back to get someone else who clearly was not in America either, but spoke and understood better English, said they could not have my package left at my local access point even though I had been stating to all representatives that all of my packages recently have been getting stolen and these were a $200 pair of UGG boots and I needed it to not be dropped off even if they just kept it on the truck and tried redelivery another day or something, ANYTHING.
Spent over an hour calling, holding, being transferred, being disrespected/mocked/argued with, and by that point the package was delivered. Mind you, there is 2 very large signs in front of my door, clearly stating "UPS/FEDEX bring boxes to back steps due to theft of packages" yet the box was left DIRECTLY under that sign, right in the front of my house (which is on a busy city main road) and I had to have my brother rush over there to put my package inside before it got stolen because I had been called into work and couldn't be home. My sister was on the phone already with someone who actually was willing to help and seemed to know how to do their job because they stated to her that leaving all future packages at the local access point would not be a problem and they deal with this all the time in urban cities. She calls me to tell me everything is great for the future and someone would be calling me back.
Almost as we were hanging up I get the call from my local UPS, but she tells me that everything my sister was just told was not true and they cannot hold future packages for me at my local access point without me setting it up on my choice for each individual package at least 24 hours in advance. Sick of the runaround and all over the place information, thanked her and ended the call. Tried using MyChoice 3 or 4 times before this package was to be delivered. I created a login and go to change delivery options, it tells me I have to be logged in, so I log in again successfully, and repeat. Just all around AWFUL experience as usual. UPS is the ONLY company that constantly has a problem delivering. Every. Single. Time.
Always losing packages, leaving them at the wrong house, leaving them ON THE SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE pretty much on the edge of the street, as stated above ignoring a large sign stating to put boxes in rear which is only 10 feet from the front door, lack of understanding or willingness to work with customers, I’ve received stuff broken before and the only people that suffer due to this is me or the shipper who has to replace merchandise which shouldn’t have been handled so improperly to begin with.
I personally have taken time out of my day to make sure all mailboxes are labelled properly, signs have been made to prevent any errors of not knowing where to leave packages and our house number is large and not hidden by anything or hard to find, right smack dab center of the front of the house, yet still this is too complicated for delivery drivers to comprehend. They are just careless and it is disgusting this is such an ongoing problem with so many customers, UPS needs to seriously better monitor drivers and come up with a better solution for customers’ needs when it comes to expensive items being entrusted with you!

So UPS is a joke. And I'm sure this isn't news. I've been home all month, and not once did the delivery guy attempt to deliver my package to me. He left a notice of delivery in the front building of my lobby, stacked UNDER a bunch of other non related notes and notices all bunched up together. Usually notices are received to our mailboxes, which just shows how quarter assed is the service when the delivery not only can't make it to your front door, but not even to the mailboxes of your entire building.
My neighbour saw the notice a few weeks after it was posted up and contacted me to let me know. I went to go pick it up this very past weekend and was told that it was sent to Vaughn and being held at Concord and to give UPS a call. I had to wait till Monday because of business hours. After I called UPS first thing this Monday morning, I was told to contact the sender of the package (Amazon), to get them to give UPS a call about this issue. I did that, and lmfao... The guy at Amazon tells me that UPS disposed of my package, claiming it was "abandoned". Also, it was MY package, so why couldn't they just tell me that themselves?! The fact that I was told to call Amazon, to call them, to delivery the same message back to me... Ridiculous. Wasting everybody's time.
Why didn't they even try to call me to let me know, before sending it to the middle of nowhere, and disposing of it so fast... This happened all because UPS's delivery guys can't even do their "delivery" jobs. He went right up to my building, traveled all the way with the package... Just to leave a notice at the front lobby entrance, which I happen to never exit out from, hidden under a bunch of other papers. He didn't even bother to ring the buzzer, nothing. Oh, and to add... He didn't even have the energy to write my first name on the notice, just my last??? The delivery guys at the UPS always just drop their notice and run. They don't care where it ends up. I've seen packages, just left by the elevators, which I personally delivered to the units myself. UPS's delivery department needs a purge. UPS = Ur Package Sayonara.

Online tracker has an exception message which says no info available. Custom duties paid for 4 days ago. UPS closes on Sat here in Canada so add 2 days of waste. UPS collection station hours of operation posted online under Google are different from UPS claimed hours, different from the voice mail and different from the phone standby message. Dropped off a package last week at local UPS store in Miami Gardens, FL. When package did not arrive per schedule I called UPS 800 number. They told me I should: "Return to the UPS store and ask them if my package was shipped!" What??? So bottom line: In order to save time UPS drivers now pick up packages at their stores WITHOUT SCANNING THEM INTO THE UPS SYSTEM. This means that your package is not entered into the UPS tracking system just because you left it at a store. It is not in the system until it gets scanned at the local processing facility in Hialeah, FL. Until it reaches arrives there and is scanned it is untraceable and no one can be held responsible for its whereabouts. This means that if the driver is running late due to traffic, or if your packages arrive at the processing center during a shift change or awkward time, anyone can throw your package into the nearest dumpster with impunity.
I know because this is what happened to me. My package disappeared and UPS customer service says they have no record that it was ever shipped from the UPS store where I left it and paid for delivery. Bottom line: UPS is a third world company with third world processes intentionally designed to allow packages to go missing with no accountability. I will never, ever use UPS again as long as I live. What a miserable lousy service!

Delivery driver in Henderson Ky won’t knock - This is the third time this has happened to me within the past 6 months! When having to sign for a package he won’t even bring the package to the door or ring doorbell or knock. He slips up there and puts the first attempt notice on the door. The bad part about this is I literally sit and watched him do this and was 2 feet away from the door! I also have it on camera. So I called the office in Owensboro Ky and the lady told me he had a heavy workload, basically called me a liar and said he will come back tomorrow for a second attempt but you can drive to Owensboro to get it. Ok so because your driver can’t ring the doorbell you want me to drive 45 minutes to get it!!
I’m sorry if he has a heavy workload but I work 3rd shift. I get things delivered at a certain time! Maybe he wouldn’t have a heavy load if he would deliver the things and knock! What was mind blowing is FedEx came 15 minutes before this worker knocked and rung my bell and guess what! I signed. So if you're in the Henderson Ky area good luck because several people have said they have been doing this. For what it’s worth I’m sending the video to corporate. They think people are dumb and I also have a large dog that barks when anyone even is outside. So today I’ve got my door wide open and sitting in front of it. I’m not letting this go because it’s the 3rd time.

Paid 5 times the price for a "upgrade" and a faster ship date. The Twitter @upshelp lied, backpedaled and tried to make me feel like it was my fault their system offered a ship date and they dropped the ball. They do business with USPS. My package was gonna be a USPS SurePost. But, UPS gets the package from the shipper, and gives it to your local post office. By upgrading for 3.50 UPS cuts 1 day off the shipping, and delivers it themselves. Also, pay 5.00 and get a sooner ship date, cheaper than the shipper. So after both of these, they are charging me 5x the original by duplicate charges, and ignoring the earlier ship date, and ignoring the overcharges. Don't use the upgrade or give them a chance to rip you off.

On 2/26 after checking all day long at 9 pm the status changes to delivery date on 3/5. Three weeks! Three weeks! I went to the UPS store to find the reason, they sent me to customer (dis)service. I've talk to several agents who can only read what I can see in the tracking history, I explained the situation over and over, no one knows why, no one can do anything, I was offered to get a call back three times which never happened.
I sent an email through the website to complain and the answer I received was "the tracking scans are not showing any kind of issue with the truck, it does show that it still in transit to Mexico." Well, yeah I knew that! But no answer about the fact that the delivery date was moved to one week later! Then they also replied "It appeared that this shipment was sent Standard service with is the slowest service" because it was sent by land, which I didn't know. I spoke to the UPS staff where I dropped the package and they told me "oh, we didn't know standard was sent by land, we are also learning with you." What kind of service is that!!!
I have called several times, talked to customer (dis)service representatives, supervisors, UPS store staff, international problem solver and I'm still waiting... And on top, the delivery date was changed again to 3/6. I can't believe a shipping is taking 18 days! This has been a nightmare. This is kind of surreal, when I went to ship my uncle's laptop to a buyer, right off the bat, the lady at the counter asked me what was in my box, I replied that wasn't her business and her reply was I should look for another shipper. Wow, what is that all about but the guy who supposedly bought the laptop, requested UPS to ship, so I paid 140.25 cents for overnight shipping and 2000.00 dollar of insurance and a signature. I went home and complained to UPS about her. I then went to my PayPal acct after I sent the tracking number to the buyer and looked for my payment of 1600.00 dollars, tried several times then realize there was a problem, I went to PayPal and they told me they had no idea what I was talking about. I got scammed, apparently.
So I got online to these idiots, UPS, and via chat and a live phone call was basically told that there wasn't much they could do, to go back to the shipper and complain to them, I informed the little moron that it would be too late cause they didn't open here till after 2:30 in the afternoon and I would lose the laptop. On their site, it tells you you can request a hold or stop delivery, but every time I tried to use it online, I was looped back to the original page I started on and no way to get that done, so I finally freaked and told them, "What the hell good is a tracking number if I cant get this done?"
Why would I ship with these idiots? I told them I want that box back as I was scammed by a phony PayPal acct and some crook. It took me hours and much aggravation to finally get it done, it was outrageous. So now, I get home today with the pkg and what do I find when I open it? Someone opened my package and repacked it. My God, what the heck is going on here? I'm currently charging it and if there is anything wrong with it, I'm going to get a lawyer, because I'm that angry.

I worked for this company for almost 3 years, and saw the horrors of their package handling first hand. The belts that carry all the boxes constantly jam up with overflow and I saw countless packages destroyed in heinous ways because of the fact that they take on way more than their system is built to handle. Supervisors would jump and walk on the boxes with long poles and jab at the jammed up packages like they were harpooning a cardboard whale.
I repair vintage electronics in my spare time and have now had a total of THREE rare machines that were packed extremely well by their senders, be completely destroyed beyond repair by this company. I always tell anyone sending me anything to PLEASE DO NOT USE UPS! Sometimes they do it anyways, and the box arrives covered in boot prints, with a giant dents and tears in it.
Another thing that gets to me is that the driver will come up with a box that looks like it was just the victim of chokeslam off the top ropes, and keep a straight face when asking for your signature. Really!? Also, here in NYC where everyone lives in apartment buildings, UPS drivers think it's cool to leave your package in the unlocked front foyer where anyone walking on the street outside can come in and take it. They'll ring your apt number and if you're at work or in the shower they'll drop it where they stand. Instead of getting let in by one of the other 50 people in living in the other 25 units, they find it easier and quicker to leave it there instead of behind a locked main door. This has happened to us so many times that our building had to post a sign specifically for UPS drivers not to leave deliveries in an unlocked and visible foyer and do you think they stopped? You can guess that one.
Seriously, what more can a company do to prove to you that they don't care about your items, I wonder? Start throwing them out the side door as they speed by your residence like some deranged paperboy? I bet they'd actually have LESS damaged boxes if they starting doing that. I cannot fully express how little faith I have in this company to do the job that they're supposed to do. I'd rather take my chances having a package flung wildly in my general direction by a giant catapult rather than UPS.

While at home on Saturday 2/17 at 10:36am, we got the notification that delivery was attempted. We were at home at that time, we rushed to the door - no driver on the road, no UPS truck. On Monday 2/19 at 10:34am, we got another notification that delivery was attempted, and we were at home at that time. We contacted UPS on 2/17 and 2/19 and got the same canned response.
Based on the lies claiming the delivery time arises suspicion. The times are within 2 minutes of each other on different days. This is a CLEAR INDICATION of driver fraud. From experience dealing with Union drivers, we suspect that the driver is abusing company time. While he is supposed to be out on delivery, we suspect that he is doing other activities, either at a friend's house, or using a controlled substance, at home, or parked behind a building asleep. He then updates his pad and pretends that no one was home. He banks on the fact he is a member of the Union and that management will have no power to enforce abuse of Company time and resources while the company absorbs the costs and takes the blame.

Several years back, I watched UPS leave a package that belonged to me at my neighbor's house. As soon as the neighbor went outside to get the package, I asked him if it was mine. He looked and said yes. He said his house number, 1540, was clearly marked and the address on the package, 1542, was also clearly marked. Why couldn't the driver go one house over to find my house to deliver it to me?
Similar problems have continued over the past few years and it doesn't matter who the driver is, they won't deliver to my house. Last year, I was expecting a portable air conditioner. The tracking told me to expect it that day. When UPS pulled up to my street, they appeared as if they were going to whiz past my house with my package without stopping to deliver it to me. I had to run out into the street to flag the driver to get him to stop. The driver at that time told me his computer system told him to expect a two story house and my house was only one story.
A few months ago, I tried to order some essential oils from Lor Ann Oils. I entered my address and the info from the website said that UPS did not deliver to my house. I had to have the package sent to my mother's house just two blocks away. I have ordered other things from companies which did not specify the shipper, and I haven't received those packages. I have had no problems receiving packages from the USPS (United States Postal Service) or from Federal Express. I just have problems with UPS as they are clearly discriminating against me. I would hate to see where they hold all the packages and letters that they never deliver!

I was home and when I called the sender they told me UPS delivered it and left at the door! Lies lies lies. They never left anything. I think UPS drivers steals the packages because this is my 3rd time my package went missing. Before it use to say attempts had been made but there were never any. Called UPS call center. They never help you. I hope UPS get shuts down. Not only consumers are getting frustrated but business that using UPS services are suffering. Drivers are lazy. Then why become one if you don’t like to work in cold? All you're doing is getting out of your warm truck and ringing a bell and delivering a package. Why is it so hard for people to work extra hard for their earnings. I see 900 reviews about this company and I bet you nothing is being done and nothing will ever will!!!

I received numerous packages with no problem whatsoever. Three weeks ago my nightmare began, innocently enough, with a notice left on my door stating “delivery attempted”. There were two people at home plus myself, none of us heard a knock or the doorbell ring. I called and requested redelivery. Twice again, supposedly delivery was attempted and again nobody ever heard either a knock or a ring. I called again and delivery was yet again rescheduled. Upon tracking I found out that these particular packages had been instead been returned to senders. Senders have not received them yet, UPS carrier facility signed for them. I did not authorize these returns and sender has not received them, so I’m having trouble getting my money back.
After this first occurrence, UPS has been nothing short of a nightmare. Nothing else was ever delivered to me, or dumped at or thrown at my door, as UPS so kindly did for thirty years. I kept finding stickers on my door stating that delivery was attempted but neither a knock or a ring was ever heard and everybody at the delivery address was fully aware that these deliveries were arriving. This is an apartment but not an apartment building, these are more like townhouses where the door is literally six short steps from where the UPS truck can park directly in front of the home. Until reading reviews here on Consumeraffairs.com we thought we were losing our minds.
UPS customer service is utterly unhelpful, they can apologize till the cows come home but this does not make up for the frustration, the disappeared items, the lost money, the massive amounts of time wasted sitting around tracking and waiting, and calling their 800 number, wading through their horrid phone system, and dealing with unhelpful employees who can only tell me that all they have to go by is what the driver tells them. I have worked similar jobs. As a rep you deal with a lot of frustrated customers and you have quite limited options on actually providing any real assistance. Reps are neither able nor willing to attempt to provide any resolution whatsoever other than telling you to take it up with somebody else, like the sender; the sender never receives the item in return so I can’t get my money refunded.
Reps also keep telling me that they will call me back within one hour, which never happened except for once; and I was called back at the wrong number, perhaps so someone could say they had called but nobody answered. So, apparently it is now quite common for drivers to sneak up to one’s door and leave a sticker without knocking. Really, how low can this company sink. I am now asking for returns on every single item that has not been delivered and that disappeared; maybe somebody will have to come with a label and report the item as disappeared, and just maybe that might give another level of complaint besides the unhelpful customer service reps on the phone - since the driver’s input appears to be valued above anything else. Not holding my breath though.
I’m canceling anything that has not yet been shipped. And I am NEVER using UPS again. This will mean loss of business for vendors / resellers, whose fault this is just as much as it is mine, as in none at all; but I just cannot hurry up and wait forever for items that were thrown at my door for thirty years but now UPS has become incapable of even doing that, and the “driver’s discretion” is suddenly the only thing that matters. What has happened to so many other reviewers here with items of deceased family members, and other expensive items such as servers, computers, equipment, parts; and high fees for not providing next-day service with excuses that the bright clear sunshiny day was a serious inclement weather condition, etcetera, is intolerable.
If UPS is incapable of providing these services, they should not be offering them. If certain packages are too heavy for drivers to deliver, UPS should have a truck and two drivers reserved for heavy shipments 2-3 times a week. I’m curious, though - if they can make the effort of sneaking up to the door to leave a sticker, why can’t they just sneak up and leave the damned packages?

Horrible service and lies. Every UPS rep gives a different excuse why the package is a week late being delivered and none make sense. First the tracking # shows at 9:10 am on day of delivery "The receiver does not want the product and refused the delivery" but the business doesn't open until 10 am so that was untrue IF delivered to the correct address. At 9:13 am they say, "The street number is incorrect. The package will be returned to the sender!". My point is if they were at the CORRECT address to begin with and they saw the business was closed they should have tried to redeliver after they open! No wonder someone refused the package if it wasn't a business or even the correct street address to match the UPS shipping label.
I call UPS that night when I learn about all of this drama to ask they stop the package while still in GA and re-deliver the package the following day and they said they would and will call me the next morning between 10-11 am but no call and the package went back to NC! One person said it was not delivered because 1 letter was left out of the name of the business but another UPS rep said they go by the address and not the name so which one lied? The next rep said the address doesn't exist but this building was my bank for 10 years with the same address and it is shows this company and the same address on GOOGLE so how do they decide it is not a valid address???
Then the same person in the next sentence said "However we have delivered there before". FEDEX and USPS have no issues delivering to this same business on a busy road on the corner of the street at a traffic light for all to see! I could go on with all of their incompetence but it raises my blood pressure. They charged $81 with a guarantee of delivery by 4:00 the next day back in January. Now it's Feb. 6, 2018 at 4:29 pm and still no package! Now tracking shows out for delivery since before 7 am today but no guarantee on time or any refund offered. If I have a choice I will never use UPS for the rest of my life under any circumstances.

UPS lost a package I sent to a client from the UPS store. Not only did they lose the package, they filled out and put wrong zip code on my package. Package was in transit from PHX to MN. Package went to PHX to Chicago back to PHX then back to Chicago then somewhere in MN. After three weeks this package was loaded, unloaded, loaded, unloaded several times like 8 times. Client canceled the order and requested full refund which I had no choice to do as he thought he was being scammed and thought tracking number was fake. UPS finally returned package on there $ after realizing they screwed up but when package showed up it was destroyed with all the equipment damaged beyond repair. So I setup a claim. Inspector comes out tells us this package should have come back this damaged. Units were bubbled and 1 inch foam padding and support were added to the box along with the 1 1\2 inch of bubble on the units.
Claim agent said that we had enough packing and it was due to the 3 plus weeks the box was lost rerouted and beat up. To make this worse UPS sold us the box for $19. UPS denied the $1047 claim and refuse to pay any amount. I am out a client and the servers even though they all said it was their fault. I would recommend FEDEX in the future as they are much better to deal with on claims. This was clearly their fault and package on the road lost for 3 weeks plus and other boxes being thrown on top of my package crushed the box and all the contents, UPS should be ashamed to return this box back to me in this condition!!!
Not only did they send the box back to me but just left it at front door and walked away. $1097 package just left at front door!!! Keep in mind they paid freight back to me due to the mistake. I have stopped using UPS and will not ever use them again nor will I recommend them to my clients. The small claim amount could have been made up by UPS in no time with the amount of shipping I do!!!

Paintings and family photos of our deceased mother were delivered to the wrong address, creating a great deal of anxiety to the intended recipient. It was not cheap and took close to a week. A notification was sent to the recipient that the package had been delivered, but the recipient reported to me, the sender, that it was nowhere to be found. The recipient was very upset. The next day, the recipient found the package on the veranda of the neighbor's house. When the recipient phoned to complain to UPS about careless delivery, there was a proforma apology.
The recipient requested a call back to discuss it further. But the callback never came despite two phone calls by the sender over several days and two more promises to the sender that the recipient would receive a callback in an hour. The initial complaint phone tree was difficult to access and cumbersome and seems to be set up to receive complaints from the recipient only. As sender, I had to twice insist on making a separate complaint (as sender who paid) and twice requested that the recipient receive a callback. The recipient is still very unhappy days later. At the delivery and complaints end, UPS was very disappointing.

UPS completely lacks any intuition or interest in customer service. I ordered an expensive item online and when I checked out I gave a PO Box as that's the easiest way for me to ensure I can pick up my items. Turns out UPS refuses to deliver to PO boxes and when I contacted them to sort out a way to get the item either by pick up through my boyfriend or a delivery to my home address or a nearby UPS place (which would cost $6; after paying for shipping the first time, I refuse to pay again), there was so much red tape that I had no other option than to contact the online store and ask them to contact UPS to update my mailing address. This, I know, will result in another failed delivery as I live in an apartment and work during delivery hours and so I will still need to find a way to pick up my stuff. Never use UPS. Then to add insult to injury I spent $189.92 including $10.00 for insurance. Then the denial letter was sent to the UPS TERMINAL NOT ME. Found out this today Jan. 24 2018. I cannot find a rating for their insurance. COULD THIS BE WHY? I have never had a claim but I can assure you I will let everyone know how this simple repair was handled. Original Review: Jan. 23, 2018
In December I shipped a package via UPS to our home while we were on vacation, timing it to arrive after our return. There were a number of items in it, including some resin Christmas ornaments that were double boxed, padded and wrapped in a box, surrounded by padding inside the shipping box. When the box arrived, it had been handled very roughly. One corner was badly bashed, and two items were broken in the inner box, which showed no damage itself. The impact had broken the ornaments.
I filed a damage claim because we had insured the shipment. It is now five weeks since we opened the claim, and I looked up the status online on www.ups.com. This was a waste of effort because you can't get any information, even with the tracking number. The claim appeared to be stuck, with the investigation marked as complete, but no further processing occurred. I phoned them, and after wandering through telephone hell for a while, I ultimately found a person who said I needed to call the store WHERE I SHIPPED IT! They had my contact information, my address, my info from when I made the shipment, all of which was the exact same data, and I'm supposed to call a store several states away.
The number they gave me was a wrong number, to boot. I called the number on the receipt and after two tries, the phone was picked up. It's a UPS store, so they are helping customers as well as doing the shipping, answering the phone, etc. I don't fault them for that, but I was totally ready to redial that number all afternoon if that was what it took to get an answer. The nice lady that answered got some information and is looking into it. My claim isn't a huge one, but now it's a cause. If they were going to deny it, they can contact me and tell me so. Instead they just decided to let it go away. I don't go away. I get even. So here I am on social media, and my next stop is Yelp. I think I can find a couple of other places to place reviews.
So the upshot of this, don't ship stuff via UPS. When I've had occasional insurance claims with the post office, I get resolution in just a few days. I ship a lot of stuff for eBay transactions. All that goes through the post office, and they've been good to me. UPS has been polite, but useless. I was considering shipping our luggage on future trips to make travel easier, sending it ahead to the hotel where it would be waiting. I'm not going to do that now. Future shipments will go via USPS or the other guys, FedEx Ship Center. I will update this as progress is made... if any. Off to repost this in other places!

We called UPS to ship a repair item to the US. Purolator arrived as their local partner company. We didn't have any UPS waybills and the agent took the package and completed the waybill in her van. The repair was urgent and this is causing huge delays. The shipment was held back in Richmond as there was no commercial invoice attached.
We don't ship abroad and didn't know about this requirement. This was rectified and we again expressed that the package must be expedited. At this point I was dealing with a manager who said she'd make sure it happens. Today I was emailed and notified that the package is shipped to the US by ground. Instead of reaching the US as originally planned on 19 January, it will now reach there on 29 January. The service experience is poor.

As a customer who has had no resolution for 4 months, I am fed up of being thrown around from one place to the other. This is in reference to the claim I submitted. To explain the situation, I was submitting for an official Indian Visa document. The Indian Consulate has outsourced the handling of visas to Cox and Kings (CKGS). I had submitted my application on CKGS website and paid for the UPS charges.
Turns out in this process, UPS completely lost my package. When I say a package, I mean an official Indian Passport Visa document. After numerous attempts and dealing with the most unhelpful customer service I was told to just submit a claim. The worst part is no one even took the pain to track down the package. They kept telling me that it is probably sitting in one of the warehouses in Chantilly but they have no way of finding it. As per them, the driver lost this package completely. I had to waste so much of my time filing police reports, going back and forth to CKGS and the missing time from work.
I was able to get in touch with CKGS and after paying a penalty of $100 I was issued a replacement for my Official Visa Card. As part of the Indian Consulate anytime you can’t submit the original PIO card (passport document), the penalty is $100 before they can issue a new one. However this is my issue... I submitted the claim, however the issue is even though I paid all the payments, the shipper is listed as CKGS. When the claim is processed please only send it to Marisse ** who is the assistant manager at CKGS. She has assured me when the check would be issued by UPS I will be reimbursed. Turns out UPS has refused to reimburse for the $100. CKGS has told me that they can’t do anything further because their policy is to charge $100 for a lost document and they can’t help me with the claim reimbursement as this is UPS fault. CKGS didn’t lose the document, UPS did.
UPS on the other hand is the most ignorant, rude and arrogant. Forget ever getting an apology. They just sent me a check of $67.28 for the original shipping cost. They have blatantly ignored to pay me $100 for the penalty I had to pay because of the UPS fault losing my document. I would never ever ever use UPS again because I find them to be unethical and ignorant when it comes to customer service.

I have always referred to UPS as the big brown toy truck. However, their shipping methods have caused me to use USPS or FedEx whenever possible. I ordered parts for my outboard motor on 1/16/18. I needed them to get my boat back up and running for an event on 1/20. I live in the Houston, Texas area, and the parts were coming from Georgia. The company graciously paid for 2 day air shipping. UPS tracking shows that they started the shipping process on 1/18. With 2 day Air, I still should have had the package on 1/19. However, I noticed at the top of the page that it said "rescheduled delivery date 1/22". I followed the tracking and saw that instead of heading straight to Houston, it went to Alabama, then north to Tennessee, then further north to Louisville, Kentucky. It showed a departure scan from Louisville at 3:20 am on 1/19, and the tracking hadn't been updated since then.
Since that time, the page now shows "scheduled delivery date 1/22". I have encountered this before with them. They charge insane fees for things like next day air or 2 day shipping, but they seldom make those dates. I once paid for next day air for a part, only to receive it 5 days later (and it was coming from a city 4 hours away). That almost wouldn't be that bad, except when I called for a refund because I didn't get the service that I paid for, I was told that they can't guarantee those shipping dates. Hey UPS... If you can't guarantee a service that you charge extra for, why even offer it???

They are absolutely useless and no help at all. At this point I'm pretty pissed.

We used UPS as the shipper on an order from Gehl tracking # **. This item was ordered as next day dropship to my customer, unfortunately it took 2 days for my customer to get a package that he paid $46.66 for to get the next day. UPS tried to say that Severe weather conditions have delayed delivery, yet my customer lives 20 miles from the hub in Columbia MO and said that the weather was fine. UPS would not do a partial refund and expects me to pass along a bill to my customer for something they did receive on time!

Honestly how do companies have utter lack of communication? I called UPS as they needed to deliver equipment to my business, which was supposed to be delivered on the 18 but they delivered it on the 17 when no one was there. We were not notified of the delivery at all. As we are a new business that is not yet open no one was there on the 17th. Fast forward the 18th, I call UPS, spoke to customer service and am told they need a letter of authorization from the previous carrier as to who will incur the fees then they can ship out the equipment.
The letter was sent and I called back. Spoke to UPS customer service who called their service dept/dispatch and advised they received the letter and would ship out tomorrow. Today is that day, we have been waiting since 8am, called UPS. They said they haven't received anything. Spoke to dispatch manager and he said they received the letter at 9:30 but no one told them to deliver it today. Which is a LIE! That is not at all what I was told! All the trucks are out and they cannot deliver until Monday. My business is at a complete standstill. I'm a very pissed off consumer!

I ordered a laptop from Amazon for two day shipping, to arrive on the 17th of January. As it was a costly item it required a signature upon delivery, so I opted to have it delivered to a UPS dropoff location (my first mistake). The changes would not take effect until the 18th I was told, which I was fine with. On the 18th UPS did not deliver it to the requested dropoff location and instead attempted to deliver it to my house, which I was not there for. I later found out from UPS that the original dropoff location was "full and not accepting packages" even though I literally went inside and found this not to be the case - they also never informed me of this when I selected this location in the first place.
So onto today, the 19th. UPS tells me that I requested the package to be sent to a totally different delivery facility (which I did not) which would result in an additional delay leading to it "possibly" arriving MONDAY January 22nd. They selected a new dropoff location that closes at 6 pm and informed me that the driver doesn't enter the area until 6 or 7, so how does that make sense? I contacted two levels of UPS customer service only to be given boiler-plate information they read off the computer. They would not help me in getting it delivered and they did not even give me the courtesy to allow me to come pick it up.
Overall horrible experience, would give UPS in NYC, specifically the Bronx a ZERO star rating if possible. These are the same people who on a regular basis claim they tried to make a delivery AND who leave a slip on our door but do not even ring our bell to try and get our attention. HORRIBLE. Use any other shipper if you live in NYC or the Bronx specifically.

If I could give UPS a zero I would. Time after time I've dealt with so many issues with these people. TWICE I've had packages that said delivered that were NOT THERE. The first time it was deliver HOURS later. And now the same thing is happening. Said it was delivered at 4, called at 6. They said they would call me back within an HOUR & let me know what's going on, 2 hours later & still no call so I call them again (both times the person I spoke with had horrible English so I couldn't understand anything she was saying). They said they tried to call & no answer. And they did NOT try to call me. My phone was on, full service, and I wasn't on it for the entire time I was waiting. She said it would be too late to try to call the driver now, that it would have to be resolved in the morning (when I'm leaving to go out of town).
All while I'm trying to explain to her the reason I'm so angry (because they keep putting delivered when it's NOT). She keeps just talking over me huffing and puffing. So these people are so incompetent that they cannot simply put DELIVERED WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY DELIVERED & DELAYED WHEN IT IS DELAYED. Both times so far I'm on a wild goose chase looking for my packages making sure they were not stolen or delivered to the wrong house. Not to mention, they almost have never delivered on time. If I can chose from now on FedEx or a different delivery service I will never deal with these incompetent rude people ever again! There's a reason this company has TWO STARS. I would suggest training your drivers to maybe have some common sense and your customer service employees have some decency. Never have I dealt with this from FedEx.

I had the worst experience dealing with this company and I have had my share of awful experiences. I was just shocked that I was actually dealing with the 'UPS World Headquarters.' My address was 'undeliverable', even though I have received packages from other delivery companies including theirs. My package was sent to an access point that was 45 minutes away. Why? There was an access point that was just about 15 minutes away from the address that package was to be delivered to. I called on a Friday to have it re-sent. I called on the Monday to follow up because I still had not received my package. I was told that it had not been sent yet and that it can take up to 48 hours from my re-send request date for the package to arrive.
The next day I called to inquire, I was told that my request was not processed. How? When I spoke to two different people on two different days about it? I spoke to a supervisor who told me that she would personally ensure that they pick up the package the next day and deliver it to me. Nothing. I called the next day and the supervisor again promised delivery the next day. Nothing. I called the next day to have my package returned to the sender. Six days later I receive a call from the supervisor to follow up. Really? I have the names of the people I spoke with. Never again. I have learned my lesson. I would request that another company be used to deliver my packages and not UPS. Never again, even if I were to live right next to or opposite an 'access point.'

I WOULD GIVE THEM A ZERO IF I COULD!!! For the last 4 days I have called UPS to pick up a package from my home. For the last 4 days they keep telling me they are coming and I SHOULD PUT THE RETURN LABEL ON THE PACKAGE. I keep telling them that I HAVE NO LABEL, UPS was supposed to bring the label, put it on and take the package. I have spoken with numerous customer reps, 3 supervisors and some person keeps calling and telling me they are coming the next day but tomorrow will be day 5. When I ask for the number of the local office, they tell me they can't give that number out, I have to go through the mail number. So I am no closer to getting the package sent. I would cancel but already paid for the pickup. I really think their system needs a rehaul and people should be held accountable. But big business protects themselves. So I am stuck in a hamster wheel, spinning around, waiting day after day.

Called costumer service, was told to leave make and contact number and my local distribution center will contact me with in 30 mins. Local office did contact me within 30 mins, but unfortunately I missed the call. The manager left a detailed message expressing her apologies, which seemed very sincere, and assurance that my package will be on the next truck out the following day. True to her word my package arrived that day. She even called to follow-up. Not sure what caused the initial delay, but I was impressed with the costumer service once I got to speak with an actual human being.

And the packing was sufficient. $40 TV box with foam inserts and corners... Another 5 phone calls later asking once again why I haven't heard from anyone, and they replied "we're not liable for damage"... So, they never shipped it, only pick up and return and it's destroyed... And they say "Sorry for your experience." This is unacceptable that a business can just wash their hands of responsibility. I have a sign on front porch for UPS, FedEx, and USPS to not place packages in front of door. This is for safety issues. I also have signs on backyard fence NO TRESPASSING! However, people think that means nothing and yet they still enter. UPS did not place the packages on front porch where sign states. However, there have been recent thefts that have been reported in my county. The driver disregarded specific placement on front porch. Driver ignored the No Trespassing sign on the fence gate. And it was a good thing the dogs were not in the backyard.
However, the driver placed the two large boxes on the back patio to the side of back door. The packages were not in plain view for someone to steal. Therefore, in spite of placement of packages on front porch and disregard for No trespass on gate, the driver was proactive to ensure the packages did not get stolen. Thanks for being concerned. The seller sent out a replacement which UPS sent to a different country. Finally got it turned around and heading in the right direction but it has now been “held” or “delayed” three times! It was suppose to FINALLY arrive today but I have now been informed that it is “delayed” due to operating conditions... the weather and road conditions are perfectly fine!!
I ordered two other items several days after this original package and those two items arrived within two days by FedEx! The customer service for UPS is a joke, to say the least! They don’t actually help in any way, they just fob you off with the basic rehearsed “I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. UPS is a company without any integrity. Thankfully, I am a lawyer and so will be filing a suit against it tomorrow in our local Small Claims Court for $2300, in addition to the cost of filing and service for an additional $400.00. It will take me about 15 minutes to prepare and electronically file the complaint. Once UPS is served it will have no choice but to either hire a lawyer to appear at a pretrial conference, or to resolve my complaint. The sad fact is this is such a pitiful company in resolving its own errors that a lawsuit is the only way to get Justice, and more people who have problems with this company should do the same.
The facts are simple. Ordered three iPhones from Sam's Club. They used UPS as the Shipper. UPS lost the phones in transit... they were never delivered. UPS keeps playing games... supposedly its investigation is supposed to take eight days (what could possibly take 8 days to investigate a package never delivered?). After my wife spent 60 minutes detailing exactly what was purchased for a formal complaint... UPS somehow neglected to start the investigation process. 15 days later, when the information was again provided them... in detail... they closed the investigation claiming they did not have enough detail on the package. UPS never bothered contacting us to get more information, nor did it contact Sam's...it simply, unbelievably... despite knowing exactly was in the packages.. .closed the account. Rather than deal with this rogue, dishonest company... a suit is much easier.
As for Sam's, they also wipe their hands off the situation. All they will tell me is file a police report. So we are joining Sam's into the lawsuit. Let Sam's lawyer come to Court and tell the Judge we need to file a police report. Let's face it... these companies do this intentionally... they never admit. More people should grab the bull by the horns and file a lawsuit when these rogue companies treat us as poorly as they do. It's inexpensive and easy to file a lawsuit in your local small claims court. You don't even need a lawyer to do so. Don't let them get away with it.

My recent experience with UPS has been bad. Because UPS is not supplying drivers with trucks that will navigate the poor weather conditions in Maine packages are being delayed sometimes by 4 or 5 days. It's amazing that a company that is willing to spend 25 million on Tesla trucks is unable or unwilling to buy a few 4-wheel drive trucks to enable deliveries deliver on time. Amazon Prime guaranteed 2-day deliveries are impossible in the winter and most stretch out to 4 or 5 days. My neighbor was waiting for some overnight medication to be delivered from the VA and because UPS was unable to deliver he now has to wait 5 extra days (they don't deliver on weekends and Monday is Martin Luther King Jr day). This is seriously messed up. I don't blame the driver at all, it's hardly their fault that UPS does not supply a vehicle that is safe to drive in the 5 months of ice and snow that we get in Maine?

I stated that their own website states no fees for pick up. I was told to bring it to a drop off location, which I already tried but the boxes do not fit. I was told to go to a UPS store which I stated there was not one in this small town. Knowing I was disabled, 1 telephone operator and 2 supervisors told me to go look and stop the driver and give him the packages. Shocked, I asked how do I do that? Do I stand out in my rural road waiting for the truck to go by and wave my cane or shall I stand out in front of the truck when it's going 55mpr down my road. The representative and supervisors were rude and did not help the situation.
They told me it's not false advertising. It's generic advertising. I repeated the words not only on their own websites but other websites under Google and it clearly states No fees for pick up, no charges will apply!! All they did was blame the other company for having the wrong tracking numbers. I kept explaining that my complaint has nothing to do with any other company but UPS for advertising free pick up, no charges will apply. That by their own words, no fees or charges will apply for pick up. All they did was deny and were extremely rude. Not professional at all. And when I asked for their names again, omg... extremely rude about it and only have a first name. Never did they apologize for their behavior, their false advertising or for telling me to go look for the UPS driver. All they wanted was my money.
I told them that their website states no charges apply for pick up so by charging me, it's illegal. It’s like bait to state free pick up and then charge the customers. UPS did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation but were very rude and I am offended and was discriminated against as a disabled person, I'm told to go look for the driver and give him the boxes. Especially since I did try to have to the boxes dropped off but they were too big for the drop off location box. All my resources were exhausted. I ask to speak to the customer complaints department, the package was deliverable as determined by U.P.S., was told by the U.P.S. employee that there is no complaint department and how could she help me. After we determined that there was no reason the package could not have been delivered, except through driver error, (all their fault) the best they can do is have the distribution center call me at 10:00 am and schedule another delivery attempt.
Of course that is after all the trucks are out delivering packages so I probably won't get my package now until Jan 22 or maybe Monday (unclear). When it states very clearly on their web site "they will attempt delivery the next business day" which would be today Friday. So they lie. I've lived here for 20 years. We have had no rain or snow, for over 90 days, to hamper delivery. Well if you are going to complain about U.P.S services you will need to do that here as United Parcel Services has no ear for it. But this customer wanted next day air so I did what the customer wanted. Then the customer was mad at me for delivery taking so long. So I called customer service. First they said next day air doesn't mean you will get your item the next day. I said they should change the name and not charge people 15 times as much for it then. After a bit of saying there was nothing they could do finally they said I couldn't make a claim yet. I had to wait another day.
So I called back the next day. They kept telling me that the tracking number I had was invalid. We kept repeating it back and forth to each other so I know it wasn't a communication error but they didn't want to deal with the claim so they kept claiming it wasn't a valid number. Then they abruptly put me on hold while I am repeating the tracking number (again) trying to get me to hang up. They kept me on hold for 40 minutes but I was determined.
Finally someone else picked up and said yes the tracking number was valid, the service was much later than promised and they would send me a refund. Somehow my tracking number only became valid after they realized I wasn't going away. I asked for a confirmation number for this refund and they said they didn't have one but it would show up on my account in a few days. Now I'm waiting to see if they keep their word. I ship with USPS and FedEx multiple times a day with little to no problems. This is the first time I've used UPS in a few years and I definitely will never use them again. By the time it got to me, the meat was thawed out and a stinky mess. They had the nerve to demand I keep the package for their driver to pick up in order for me to submit a claim. The driver did not show up until 4 weeks later when my next package was due!!! I wish I could boycott these people.

On Wednesday Jan. 3, 2018 this pkg was left downstairs in the lobby w/o notifying me that it had been delivered. My son in Ohio had to text me to let me know it had been delivered. I live in a senior building and I am 85 years old. I have herniated disc problems and I would have thought that any delivery driver that had any brain matter would realize that a pkg that size irregardless of the age of anyone should have been delivered to their front door, not just left in the lobby. This pkg was large and cumbersome for me to get two stories up.
I now have extreme pain in my lower back and feels like it is affecting the Sciatic nerve which is impossible to get any relief from. In other words a trip to the Dr for an order of weeks of Physical Therapy. If that don't work then I will have to undergo the very painful Epidural Steroid Block. Why any driver would even begin to think it was okay to leave such a large and cumbersome pkg for a Senior to try to carry to their unit is beyond me. Thoughtless; inconsiderate and lazy. Need to back up to get their paychecks. Surely not earning it with this lackluster service that inflicts pain and suffering on a customer.

On Dec. 20 I shipped a package from Ohio to my son to Washington with a guaranteed delivery of Dec. 22. I asked the girl at UPS if my son could pick up the package at his local UPS store the next day (Sat.) if he was not at home on Friday. She said that he could and that she would add that to the shipping instructions. He was not at home Friday, but there was a note for him to go to 3901 Main St. in Vancouver, WA to get his package.
I am sure you can see where this was going. The package was not at the Vancouver UPS store and my son was told that they did not know where it was. He stopped a total of 4 times over Saturday & Sunday (they were open 24 hours Friday, Saturday & Sunday), but the package never showed up (and they never attempted another delivery until Tue., Dec. 26. I went back to the UPS store where I shipped the package and they immediately told me that they are not UPS, but rather a UPS franchise. I was told that they would not refund any of my expedite shipping costs ($59) and that I had to call UPS. What an undertaking it was getting through to a UPS CSR too. The CSR told me that she could see in the instructions that the package was to be taken to 3901 Main St. In Vancouver if no one signed for the package on Friday. However, she said she could not help me and to contact the UPS Refund Dept. Ah, another adventure to be sure!
After finally reaching the refund department and actually getting to speak with someone, they said that I had to go back to the location where I shipped the package from. That's the same location that told me I had to get a refund through UPS. After Two emails to UPS Cust. Service, I was provided with a phone number directly to the UPS Refund Dept. I just spoke to them and of course, they will not refund any of the shipping costs because they operate on "business days" and if the package was not accepted at the residence on Friday, the next business day was Tuesday.
I would emphasize that the location in Vancouver was open 24 hours on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, but apparently only to "take" your money and not to hand out packages. What a joke. The best part was that the person at UPS in Vancouver told my son that she did not know where the package was either, yet she had all of the information in her computer. Rest assured, once you paid for the shipping costs, NO ONE at UPS will accept any responsibility for any delays or non-delivered packages. Have you ever had the experience of your house being robbed or vandalized? I have. For me the worst part was spending months afterwards looking for something and then realizing it, too, was part of the theft. I have used UPS for over 30 years and had come to feel they were one of the ‘good guys’. My wife even wrote, in one of her newspaper columns, of the warm feeling she had when she saw the ‘big brown’ truck approaching. Most of us have experienced betrayal in our lives but rarely are we asked to pay for the ‘service’. It would be easier, and quicker, to spend 6 months of your life collecting the things that were useful and important to you, putting them neatly in a box, and then dropping the box in the nearest dumpster! Here is the story: All that changed with this last shipment. Now I feel like I was robbed and my shipment was vandalized.
In November I shipped 3 boxes of personal belongings from my summer house to our winter place. Two arrived on the date they were scheduled. The third was on the manifest but not on the truck. “Probably back at the warehouse”, the driver said. After a few days I began to be concerned. Now, I understand when a company handles 16.8 million packages a day mistakes can happen and things can get lost. My issue is not with the package having been lost, but rather with how they handle ‘lost’ packages. Tracing it on their website they changed its status from ‘out for delivery’ to ‘return to sender’ [which was me, only 1500 miles away]. I called their customer service number to ask who authorized the return and that is when I found out I was not even considered their customer! Their ‘customer’ was their franchisee (the “UPS Store” in Middlebury, VT) so they didn’t really even want to talk to me!
To make matters worse I found out later that, as punishment for asking, I guess, every time you call the UPS customer service directly, they ‘reset the clock’ on their search. I next talked to Josh, the owner of the UPS store in Middlebury VT [store #2601] and he assured me he had successfully re-routed the shipment to where it was supposed to be delivered in the first place. I actuality, although he dutifully repeated the lies he apparently was told by the ‘real’ UPS, he seemed as powerless as I was to get an accurate status or even location on the package. Working through Josh now I was told that they had ‘internal procedures’ that ‘allowed’ 4 days for this, 10 days for that, etc. I had to call Josh after each of those ‘allowed’ periods had expired to attempt to get an update on the status.
What really happened, as near as I can tell, is-once the ‘real’ UPS acknowledged it as being lost, they do a quick search and if it doesn’t turn up it is easier to pay the insurance than to actually try to find it. If it turns up after their quick search they just put it in the dumpster! And this, with at least 3 securely taped address and return address labels firmly affixed along with the UPS tracking stickers, While I prefer to think that their employees get to take what they want, so that at least somebody gets some use out of our stuff, it is obvious to me that UPS doesn’t CARE and are primarily interested in CYA. At this point I have replaced the items that were replaceable and mourned and then ‘thanked’ the lost items that were irreplaceable.
I guess all that is left to do is deal with the as yet unknown remaining items that I look for in the coming months and then realize they, too, were part of the theft. So, my conclusion is: If you are shipping stuff that you want, DON’T USE UPS. If it is stuff that you don’t want, why are you shipping anyway? I would strongly recommend you find a different option to have your goods moved and would love to hear any suggestions from anyone for other ways to get packages from Point A to Point B.

We'll see you on December 26th," so besides socks and underwear my child has nothing to open on Christmas because when I wasn't home they automatically take this stuff to Stop and Shop and drop it off so they're not even attempting to contact their customers. They just stick in those paper notes on doors because it's easier for them and then they don't drop the stuff off at the second location. They just post a note and drive away. Go to the next one. Post-It note and drive away and then don't even drop the stuff off. They get paid good money to drive around and put packages on stairs. They're not walking like a postal worker so they taking their post-its and just pop them on people's doors so they don't have to do their job.
I think I should be reimbursed for the extra money I spent to get my deliveries on Christmas that I don't have for my time, for my gas, making me go out in an ice storm. I could have died crashed and died. My kid would had a great Christmas then now. I'm a single disabled woman. The things my son wanted for Christmas he waited all year for. We saved up so he can have these things that I could never afford on a regular basis. He did his part my son by waiting and going without so we would have enough money to buy the items that he wanted and what was his reward for it?
You have to continue waiting for it. I'm driving 87 miles to go get my kids the things he wants in Rhode Island. I think UPS should pay for my kids Christmas gifts since they were the ones that didn't drop it off. It was in their hands. They make a promise to get the stuff there on time and I had to pick up the slack and fix their problem. Now they need to fix my wallet. I'll never use UPS. I'll never recommend UPS and I'll be sure to tell everyone how UPS ruin a kids Christmas.

Had a "guaranteed" next-day delivery scheduled to come on Friday, December 22nd. Today is the 23rd and after checking online to see about the status of my package, I learned that it had been rescheduled for Tuesday, the 26th. Given the fact that I will be studying abroad and flying out of the country on that day, this was completely unacceptable. Contacting customer service was another trial in itself; took forever to get a real person on the line. Finally when I did, I let them know that I wanted to pick it up at the facility where it was being held, only to be told that I couldn't because there were no workers at that branch that day. The package is as good as lost at this point. Stay away from UPS!

Sent 5 packages. One was delivered to Nevada instead of Mississippi - and apparently MY fault even though all fields were correct. Another delivered to California instead of Mississippi - again, MY fault...and third has been at shipping center in Bakersfield as of yesterday - but can't be delivered until WEDNESDAY...and, guess again, MY fault. There is absolutely NO customer service nor culpability on the part of UPS. I had to argue with an employee about the incorrectly shipped packages, finally reading verbatim what was on the UPS website...he just said it wasn't their fault and the packages will be delivered when they are delivered. Unreal!!!
