In 2001, I was contacted by this compnay regarding a debt, which I disputed. They later sent this disptued debt to a law firm (Mel Harris& assoc) in 2005 I disputed it with this law firm which later froze my bank accounts & all assessts. I hired an attny whose was able to settle the account (which was not mine) for $500.00 and now Midland is coming after me again, attempting to garninsh my wages. I already paid this, it was never mine to begin with. But needed access to my money.

My bank accounts were frozen in 2005, for 2 months I had no access to money, I am a single mother. I had to pay for a debt that wasnt mine, I had to hire an attny to get this resolved and now they are trying to collect on something they settled on almost 3 years ago. My wages are set to be garnished beginning with my next paycheck 7-15-08. I just rcvd a letter from the sheriff on Saturday.

Received ltr. from company offering to settle an old debt with Citibank for a discount on balance. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CREDIT CARD WITH CITIBANK, and I am not a deadbeat. I have a credit score just slightly under 800 and take pride in my good credit standing. I called the company and they told me that I HAD to pay the money, and that it was a card account I had from 1987 -- 21 years ago!!!!

I contatced a credit repair service back in November 07. At that tiem they found Midlan Credit on my report and disputed it for me. At that point they decided to reactivate the accounts on my credit. I have no idea whoe they were, I wrote letters etc.

Well 8 months later of getting nowhere, lo and behold I went to apply for a mortgage. This was the only thing on my credit that showed as a new unpaid account. Because it was an FHA loan, they requested it to be paid prior to lending. I did so, received a letter of receipt of payment from Midland's attorneys and Midland refuses to celar up my credit reports. They claim they never received the money from the attorneys Riddle and Associates. I'm stuck.

I had to pay 3100.00 to be able to get the mortgage for my home.

I am writing, as an honest citizen and taxpayer, to inform you of a violation of my consumer rights, in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Midland Credit Management out of California has violated my rights by not adhering to the rules and regulations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They have refused to respond to my credit dispute and to this day, they refuse to remove an inaccurate item from my credit profile. (I sent them a credit disupute on 9/4/07 and a goodwill attempt/follow up on 9/15/07).

This inaccurate item has been a burden and has caused me to be rejected from employment and has hindered my ability to prosper and sow into our economy. For example, I cannot get approved for loans with reasonable and affordable interests rates, thus I cannot purchase a home.

I had a outstanding debt with FCNB-Eddie Bauer, Had arranged to make payments Dec of this year. 2 months ago I received a letter from MCM stating they had bought the loan and wanted to make a settlement.

I started to and found my paperwork and they have tacked on another thousand dollars on what I owe. They stated it was interest and penalties, I said in 3 months it has gained 1,000 and she said yes. Threatened to send to an attorney. I offered to make 50.00 payments a month and she refused. She said I was in no position to barter and I had no rights. I am trying to come out of financial hardships and repay all our debt. This makes it impossible. Thank you

It is showing as a new account opened in 10/2006 with an unpaid balance of $8077. The account number listed does not match any account number that I have had though First Consumers National Bank.

Everything was favorable for me to qualify for a new home that I have been working tediously on my credit in the last year to make this happen for my family. I am now faced with loan companies telling me to be approved this debt must be shown as paid.
