Abysmal customer service. For whatever reason, the app could not verify my telephone number. I would get into the app and would be able to see who was viewing me or who was writing me for about 30 seconds and then the app would take me to a site where I was to enter my telephone number to be verified and nothing happened. This went on and on and on. I wrote customer service and the one individual I spoke with said that had to be kicked upstairs, I guess to someone more knowledgeable. But that person never contacted me. I gave them 48 hours to get this fixed or I would delete my account. Today, sending final message in the 30 seconds that I had which included my telephone number to a lady I had been, briefly, communicating with, I deleted my account. Decided itself does not appear to be too bad, but don’t look for any help from anyone from customer service.

Not surprised at the low ratings. While the site itself is average, there are a lot of scammers here. Even if you join for 1 week, you have to agree to an auto-renewal. I was charged 2 additional times within 2 days. Customer service just says prove it was their fault. I disputed the claim with my credit card company.

The dating site is good to use and navigate other than you are only shown one profile at a time instead of being shown thumbnails of lots of profiles and you can click on the ones you are interested in. In addition after signing up for free Zoosk baits you into thinking people are messaging you when the messages are not really sent by the people the sites claims (I checked by messaging the people and asking them if they sent the email and they said no).
In addition, after you paid for a membership you afterwards learn that the only people that can reply back to you are also premium paid members so they offer you another pay upgrade that allows them to message you back if they are not a paid member. Very scummy and scammy. I paid for one month and won't be back. I am now a member of pofree.org which IS totally free.

Inevitably when I attempt to use Zoosk I get a "Sorry we encountered an error" error message. They have no phone number to call and to submit a help form you must do so from their app. That does no good because you cannot get beyond the error message. I WILL NOT renew my subscription. I have attempted all the fixes I have found on Youtube videos but none of them work. I have offloaded the app and reloaded it several times. I have turned off my phone and rebooted it. I have attempted to find where the cache and storage are located to no avail. Any company who will not let you contact them is very suspect. Do not use this app!! It is not worth the frustration.

I wish I could get my money back, no way of getting a hold of them.. This site gives fake hits, fake profiles, controls everything you can see, leads you along so you sign up again. After my membership it showed I had 28 messages when normally I get one or 2 a week. Right now I can't look at hits or alerts this is because I complained about a few things in print. Now they're blocking me.

Can I give this site/app a rating of ‘zero’?? I wasted time setting up a ‘free’ account only to find out that I can’t see any of the supposed messages I’d received w/o paying and there were still a ton of ads! Who’s going to spend money to potentially find out there’s no one of interest there, or that the site is full of fake accounts. With so many sites that are actually free, I have no idea why anyone would be on Zoosk.

Don't waste your money! I have tried this site three times in the last two years. What you see is manipulated around your age, so you won't be able to see everyone that is there. Thousands of profiles that are not active and I noticed some from two years ago not active. If you do not delete your photo and information, you will probably be seen for years to come even if you are gone!
When my account subscription expired, all of a sudden new women appeared of different ages. If you do a personal search where you decide the details, you won't get to see everyone active. I experimented just to see how they manipulated things. You won't get to see the zodiac sign on the cell phone app, only on the website, computer-based. Also when my subscription expired, I instantly got five more interested women which obviously I could not see their message or their profile unless I paid more money.

For an older male, there are lots of phony profiles. You get notified that someone is interested in you, and you reply and they never respond. They should make every profile be verified. Not worth the money.

Glitchy, cannot customize searches, same men over and over popping up for me. I wasn't going to pay anything, but I realized that any dating site is going to charge something. Fine. I paid $35 for a month and an additional $10 for ... something to do with messages, I think. Waited for the paid version to kick in for 3 days. Nothing. I finally messaged customer service and they sent me a "Welcome!" message as if I had just subscribed. No admission about what they did. Next, after I X'd a lot of profiles on the Carrousel and Views, I get a pop-up asking me to narrow it down by ethnicity, smoking, and age. I did.
Made no difference. 50% of my "matches" are ethnicities I don't want and ages over 5 years younger than me. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but as a woman, I want an older man. At least I'm not getting 18 year olds like on Silversurfers. There is absolutely no way to customize searches or matches. It's entirely random and likely not what you're looking for.

Less than a week ago I subscribed due to a few “messages” I wanted to respond to so in I go, looking for the best price…there isn’t a best price all options are more beneficial for the company than the customer. I subscribed and well what do you know… NOTHING, no responses, no contact from these so-called interested ladies who want to meet me. I was a sucker and fell for it So 60 bucks and I’m already canceling in a week of no activity. Just the computer algorithms' smart picks, no option to do a proper search and connect, and you can’t even put what you want in your profile to warn others of what a true SCAM this site is… no better than eHarmony!
I will note that several years ago Zoosk and eHarmony both were really good but now they are both nothing more than a get rich very fast operation for the owner of the site/ company and taking advantage of lonely hearts, genuine hard-working people and giving them absolutely nothing for their hard-earned money… Stay away from this place folks and go spend the money on yourself cause you’ll be a lot better off.

Keep in mind in looking at my rating that no online dating site is going to merit more than three stars in my book. They are generally a bad lot. I have actually seen some sites worse than Zoosk (and more expensive). Positives for Zoosk are a large membership base, relatively low fees, and fun to use. The one big negative for this site is the number of inactive profiles. These are not necessarily fake profiles but they are profiles for people who have not used the site for a long time. There is no way to filter for recent activity. Also, many of the profiles are not really profiles. They are just pictures with data (height, education, religion, etc.). Zoosk should require members to complete their profiles before they can be on the site. The Carousel feature is fun to use but is not very helpful in the long run, since it is based totally on looks. I have tried to like this site and have found it fun to use at times but after being on it for two months, I would have to give it thumbs down.

The promotion is related to Medicare/Medicaid, which has nothing to do with zoosk. Still can't contact the customer service for a refund. Further more it appears that zoosk is trying to debit my card twice. Also, I believe there are many fake profiles. I would like to give it a Zero rating. I do not recommend! Be cautious.

Updated on 05/14/2024: This following is an update, and the information stated is based on my experience and opinion. This site is as fake as a 3 dollar bill. After (legally) threatening them over the constant removal of valid photos, they apologized, added some points for what I'll never know, then resumed their harassment at an even higher level: they displayed a gorgeous ** (they like **) who allegedly wrote, "hi handsome", and expressed a very strong and suggestive form of emailing one- another. Hmm. Red flags anyone? So, she sends me what appeared to be a valid email, and I responded. She gave this lengthy and horrific story of her wealthy life and an abusive X that used her. I replied similiarly, just not as descriptive. I even suggested having dinner a restaurant near her where she will feel comfortable.
She never wrote again, and now I am blocked now from accessing my paid account from Zoosk. Isn't that a daisy? I am so devastated after this suspected and fraudulent hoax, I still can't stop laughing. The problem is that Zoosk has my money and I can't access my account. They say to list the "code sent to my email address", yet none is ever seen. In short, they are game players with too much time on their miserable hands. They get off on ** and people's vulnerable feelings - how crude. Stay away and report anything fraudulent to AG Ashley ** if you live in Florida. Sorry Zoosk, but you're busted. The joke is on you!
Original Review: This site does not operate in good faith in my opinion and is replete with fraud - do not join. Multiple times they ask for account verification, which is normal when asking to retrieve the code they never sent. They put up old/fake profiles of attractive people as an inducement to attract new clients. They allow you "browse for free", then tell you that so and so wants to meet and hear from you. Once you agree to sign up, voila- they magically disappear. They employ trickery and games played by their own bored workers. Oh, if you're thinking about reporting them, please contact the AG's office in Florida and file an online complaint. Everthing will appear to be ok, but it's not. Zoosk will retaliate and make you verify who you are several times, despite two-step verification, then prevent you from logging in or the ability to contact customer service that doesn't even have a phone number anymore! They have stolen your money and have failed to perform, which is illegal.
In short, this is fraudulent and illegal to take your money, then deny access for their services. This is theft and improper business practices at the highest level. They perform unconscionable acts of cruelty on vulnerable people simply wanting to meet someone. They even block you if you provide your phone or email number to someone you gone back and forth with and wish to take it to a private level. This is unfair and not right when both parties have existing accounts. Report them immediately as I have done.

I discovered that you cannot call an 800 number to speak to a Zoosk employee to discuss your issues you are having while using the platform. They say to write a email but nobody ever responds to your letters to Zoosk. You tell Zoosk you want to contact a person you like, but it never happens. Zoosk feeds you what they think you should be reviewing. So Zoosk software plays games with you. Also you automatically get your subscription renewed which most people resent. It reminded me of the membership to the 1970's book clubs that automatically sent you books. Zoosk and many other dating sites all use the auto renewal gimmick. The other started to message me and then we moved to our emails. She stated she was out of the country for a few more weeks but wanted to message. She sent more pictures as there was only one on her profile.
I did a picture search on the internet and came will with 2020 pictures of her. She was a model in dozens of Fashion, makeup and clothing magazines. I questioned that and got the most outrageous story about that being her previous life and she doesn't do that anymore. She sent me three more pictures and they were the poorest photoshopped pictures I have ever seen. I got back in for about 10 minutes only to get booted out again. Then I can get in only for it to stall and not fully load to see anything. Customer Support has stopped responding altogether. Now that isn't supposed to happen if I'm off the site. I cancelled my subscription when I found a girl to meet. (Turned out, she was just trying to bilk seniors, but that's not the point).
Her and I told each other that we had cancelled our subscriptions. Now if she wasn't a scammer herself and saw my profile still up there, she might not approve, to say the least. So, there are lots, if not a huge percentage of profiles up on the site that are people who are not paying subscribers which means we will never get replies unless the site itself sends fake replies. The funny thing is that I would have to subscribe again to be able to tell them to remove my profile or better yet confront them about fake profiles. My guess is that many if not all the other dating sites do this same thing to increase their subscriber volumes.

Zoosk is a total rip off as far as I'm concerned. If you want to throw away more than $40 just to look at pictures of supposedly members in your area, just go ahead. You will get a few members that live nearly 200 miles or more away that Zoosk claims to be interested in you but those are probably fake too. I sent out more than 150 comments and got back one from a woman that lived about 150 miles away that thanked me and said that she was already dating many men. That one looked like another check the box reply. It cost more than $40 just to see if anyone read your comments if you trust Zoosk saying that they did. There are special fees for everything designed to take your money without delivering anything. I suspect that most of the profiles are fake and they recycle the pictures over and over. They design comments and you choose one or receive one but all of it is just to keep you on the hook.
If you don't cancel before your subscription is due, they automatically charge you repeatedly and take your money. I think the government should investigate them, shut them down, and make them refund everybody's money. It's very exciting to see so many good looking members before you pay for a subscription but after that you soon get suspicious and realize that you have been scammed. I am in an area where there are hundreds of so called members with pics but not one single one sent a real looking hello message in reply. Their scheme has made them rich and their ads are bogus.

I created a "free profile" to see if there were potential matches in my area and there were several, so I payed for a subscription. After 2 weeks of lack of responses with a couple of matches, and excessive interest from a few non matches, I did an experiment. Out of over 70 possible matches from my "local" search parameters, I "liked" over 40 of them (sends them a message that I want to connect). NONE of them even viewed my profile in over 2 weeks. If someone was on a dating site they would at least want to know who was checking them out. Several "non matches" (didn't fit my search parameters) were viewing my profile multiple times a day. I messaged 5 of them specifically asking about "views", and only 2 responded and both responded that they had NEVER viewed my profile (even though Zoosk is sending me notices multiple times a day that they are viewing my profile.
I suspect that Zoosk is recycling old profiles of people who are no longer there but generated a lot of interest when they were. And Zoosk randomly sends views from the few people who actually are active members, or who you have viewed their profile (indicates to Zoosk that you are interested enough in them that any perceived interest from them is exciting) - whether they have ever actually viewed your profile or not. Zoosk sends messages to your email address that a member has viewed your profile to get you to log in and check your "views" folder - and once logged in, often there is no indication that the person in the email viewed your profile - its an email to draw "you" back into interacting and generating actual legitimate views that get sent to other members. Zoosk appears to be trying to keep us spinning our wheels - "actively engaged with our own hopefulness" - thinking that there are possibilities when there are not.
I do not recommend Zoosk to anyone interested in online dating. I've had a few suggestions to try Hinge, but it's only available through a smart phone and I don't type on a phone - just laptop. I found GreenSingles and their platform is impressive - very few local matches that meet my search parameters, but they are honest about it - the people who are supposedly there are actually there, and the platform discloses the time frame in which they last logged in to indicate their level of availability (last few days, over 3 months, over a year...).

Zoosk asks an unsuspecting subscriber for preferences, many of which are easily measurable (e.g. Age, Height, Religion). Then Zoosk totally ignores those parameters and throws all manner of profiles your way. I also am inclined to suspect that Zoosk keeps photos and profiles of former subscribers online to entire unsuspecting suitors. After receiving no response to polite messages to about 20 supposed members, I wrote to inquire, "If you are actually still active on Zoosk, please respond with a simple message such as "NO." I will not bother you again." NONE of these messages elicited a response.
A feature of Zoosk is what they call Carousel, where you are shown a photo and given the option of Yes, No, Maybe. No other information, such has age, location, etc. If you select One, eventually you are provided access to this info. But select more than one, and tough luck bubby, Zoosk picks for you. And you may never see the other one again. Esp. since many may no longer be subscribers. Zoosk also has what they call Smart Pick, where they send about ten profiles your way. Apparently what is "smart" is that they live nearby, because unless it is an accident, the Smart Pick fails to meet any of the preferences you wrote down. Zoosk should tell would be subscribers how many others are actually active on the site, rather than foisting profiles of people who long ago left the site. It ought to be against the law what Zoosk (and others) do in terms of transparency.

I was even able to provide screenshots of her Facebook profile complete with the same pictures and her birthday and they twiddled their thumbs rather than take it down immediately. I ended up taking it to her parents as soon as I found out only to learn that this was not the only app she had done this on. She did this on Skout and MeetMe as well in order to catfish money out of older men.
The catch? The other two aforementioned applications had her profiles taken down within a 48-hour period. Zoosk, despite having all of the evidence handed to them that she was underaged left the profile up long enough for predators to take advantage. So yeah, absolutely not worth the time, effort, or potential money you put into this. Customer service is almost non-existent and a bad joke at best. It's just as predatory as Kik. I've seen some reviews that say you can not search or see profile info like age, location, etc., but that has not been my experience. I've been able to using the search, create saved searches based on specific filters like most apps, location/zip code, age range, ethnicity, education, body type, etc.
The issue for me is the view, like, message activities appears to be faked, so no one is really looking or communicating. I've not fallen for the "pay" trap, so I can not speak to the money pit of add-ons, but when I cannot trust the "activity" is real then what's the point. I wish I would have done more research into this dating site. Also read the review before hand. As other members have mentioned, EVERYTHING is an extra fee beyond your sign up fee. When "trying" to converse with somebody, you usually get 2 messages through and then the other party disappears. Or you get one sentence from the other person and never hear back. I gave my phone number to somebody who wanted to go to a different site to communicate, and he disappeared.
With this many people searching, I only seem to get people looking at my profile that I would never pick (in a million years). Not trying to be disrespectful but it almost seems somebody else is picking "for you". Out of all the people I send a like to (but not a message) almost NOBODY replied. Granted this is not a sure thing, but I would think you'd get a response back at least once in a while. It shows your profile being viewed by the same people over and over again and every 5 minutes. Pretty sketchy. Do your research.

This site is not worth your money. You pay a subscription fee, but that is only the start of your expenses if you want to use any of its features. Someone writes a message to you, you have to upgrade your account to see it. Someone “likes you“, and you have to pay more to see who it is. You find someone you like and you want to send them a message, and you can’t do it without paying an additional fee. You inadvertently “swiped left“, and want to go back. Pay an additional fee to do it. And it’s not just the never ending fees.
The site is very poorly designed. Using their so-called carousel feature, you cycle through endless photos rejecting 99% of them, and the same rejected photos come up every time you use that feature. You engage in a conversation with a member, and then suddenly your ability to do so ceases for inexplicable reasons. Although my stated preference was for women, occasionally guys signal their interest in me. There is simply nothing good I can say about this site. Your subscription fee will be a complete waste of money.

Warning guys!! All the good reviews you see on this site are fake!! They are put up by the people who work at Zoosk!! The pictures on zoosk are not real!! Zoosk employees put up fake pictures and pretend to be the person in the picture!! But really you're talking to a zoosk employees!! They have even gone so far as creating valid Australian numbers so that when you say, "Give me your number. Prove you're real," then you will text them they will respond and then boom they remove the profile that you were just messaging to on zoosk, it disappears then they will stop texting your number or they will do this other strange tactic to make you stop texting them, they will start acting really off. Really rude like they're trying put you off....
I was on zoosk for 6 months and I recognized this pattern that I've just explained... You see, scammers fakes always follow a pattern after a while you can notice it.. What I just explained happened at least 7 times in a row, they give your number then text it - get a response - then the zoosk profile you were messaging disappears, then you will be ignored through texts, or they will be really rude or just ignore you.. The profiles you're messaging are zoosk employees and the numbers they give you are zoosk employee numbers.

Three times I paid money for a Zoosk subscription. Once in March 2021, in November 2021, and April 2022. All in all, I connected & met ONE lady, 65 miles from my home in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. As of June 2022, I am repeatedly contacting Zoosk support to get details for the way I can, again, cancel my subscription, and have the remaining money I paid, refunded. I have emailed Zoosk support 7 times over 1 month. No response so far.
My experiences... Zoosk is all about 'viewing' profiles. You view women, they view you. It's a circular dance that just doesn't stop. If I view Brenda, she gets a notice that I viewed her. It's likely she will then view me. I'll get a notice that she viewed my profile. Because the 'Search' aspect of Zoosk essentially views profiles and notifies the profile owner, this gives rise to the same circular viewing cycle. I have given up viewing anybody. Currently there are 35 views pending for me to look at. I won't. Because it just feeds the spiral.
'Carousel' is similar to 'Searching'. But it is not (to my awareness) constrained by my selected 'Search' parameters. Thus, if I have set up a limit of 50 miles 'Search' area, when I participate in the 'Carousel' feature, it is certain I will be offered women much further than 50 miles away. They get a view and a notice, then they (likely) view me. I get a notice via email. The cycle begins again.
'Carousel' presents (added to the person's photo) the age of the woman, but not the LOCATION. This is highly frustrating. A woman may be ideal in age-range and physical appearance, but she may live 315 miles away. The only way to discover the distance, is to tag the 'Carousel' person-of-the-moment as "Maybe I want to meet" or "Yes, I want to meet", which makes it a 'View', and the person gets an email notice. The perpetual viewing cycle begins.
'Connections' is a sort of holding area for profiles I might send a 'Like' or message to. Sort of a bookmark mechanism. It is also a bit quicker way to access the messaging aspect of Zoosk. If nothing comes of a connection, it can be deleted. The instant messaging/chat aspect of Zoosk is marginally responsive. Far better in my opinion is, one example, Facebook messenger.
When one views profile pictures - especially using the 'View' or 'Carousel' aspect of Zoosk, the age of the person is shown in WHITE letters in the lower-left corner of the picture. Often - depending what the individual is wearing in the picture - it can be near-impossible to see the "Age: 55" text in the lower-left corner. The various Zoosk subscription plans are consistent with other "meet people/dating" website. When a subscriber is notified by email of a 'View' or other trigger, there is advertising embedded in the email.
Occasionally, and not seldom, Zoosk will send an email saying "We've selected 10 ladies you might want to meet". This is a bald-face temptation to sign-in, and start viewing prospects. Once that's done, the viewing cycle starts up. I've seen a considerable number of profiles that are very likely 'dead' or abandoned. Because Zoosk gives NO INDICATION when a profile user was last signed-in to the system, there's no way of knowing how stale a profile might be.
Obviously, your mileage may vary from what I describe. My overall assessment of Zoosk is, it is barely worth the investment. Because its subscription plans are more economical than big-name similar services, it's easy to be enticed to subscribe, to save money. I strongly suggest people who live in smaller towns, more rural locations, the odds are stacked heavily against you. Statistically, not many singles in or near your rural location will have subscribed.

I received one email telling me that a member had written to me, only to discover that it was only Zoosk telling me they thought the lady and I would be a good match.
I notified Zoosk that I wanted to cancel my six-month subscription, only to learn that my profile would remain active for the entire six months, after which it would still be visible (probably forever), but I would no longer be able to respond to any women. Once you're on this site, you're on it forever, like it or not. I expect most, if not all, of the women on this site are fake or ladies who made the same mistake I did and are permanently on the site. You'd think that giving women a compliment such as "pretty smile" or "beautiful eyes" would elicit at the very least a thank you but nothing. I'm done with this site. I should also say that I'm in great condition, go to gym often, I make my own money, own a house and car, I'm reasonably attractive (have dated and been married to women who turn heads when they walk by), so it's not me. I am new to online dating. I signed up with and paid for the Zoosk service for 6 months. In my first month, I received dozens of members allegedly wanting to meet me. When I replied to these members, nearly all did not respond, and of those that responded (about 4) two of them were of profiles with pictures of beautiful women with little information about themselves. They each asked that I quickly send them photos and then for a few hours I then texted with them, but within about 2 hours it very quickly turned into a scenario where they alleged they dropped and damaged their phone in rushing to get a text from me, and then they demanded money from me to reimburse them for their broken phone, and all along they would not do a video call or phone call with me.
Each of these profiles did this same scam. I gave them nothing and reported this to Zoosk, but Zoosk allowed their profiles to remain on their site. In addition, I noticed that in their profiles they were falsely saying they were located just miles away from me in my state, but when we texted their phone number was a cell phone or VOIP number with a California area code, indicating they were several states away and not merely a few miles from me. In sum, there are numerous fake female profiles on Zoosk, and Zoosk is allowing such because they did not remove the profiles that I notified them were fake and trying to scam legit Zoosk users.
I even offered to provide Zoosk the entire chats and all texts between me and people using such profiles to show they are scammers, and Zoosk did not respond and did not accept such, and allowed their profiles to remain. All in all, Zoosk is NOT a good company because they are knowingly allowing their app to be used by scammers and fraudsters to try to perpetuate scams on others on Zoosk who are legitimate and genuine users. A single picture, no bio, no information, some filler "interests". These 'people' would send you a flirt or 'like', but when you attempt to engage them in conversation, they NEVER!! respond. I fully believe that these are all generated by the company itself - an outsider would be trying to scam you, and thus at least SOME would engage you in conversation so that they could try to get money. There seems no point at all to these, other than to pad their numbers and make it appear as if they have many attractive people who are interested in you.
That is not to say that all accounts are fake. There are obviously many real people, and you just as obviously have to sort through hundreds of players and people not interested in actual relationships to get to the very rare gems. It's just a shame that you have to filter through many more fake profiles, as well. Dating is hard enough without companies like this preying upon your emotions to generate massive profits.

I had a account for Zoosk...It wasn't until I wanted to leave the site because I was not getting responses to messages I sent...then they offered me enhanced messaging..which did in fact help with getting responses from people... Problem was..9 out of 10 always want to try to get to chat off site because they are scams..from people who want money or gift cards...to getting different pictures sent to me was not the same person as was shown in the profile...Way too many red flags...so I looked at the site statement and right in their own statement it say...they don't monitor or scan for scams...
As paying members I feel like that's a serious responsibility for the site to consider.. Considering that they want to charge people for using the site...but yet take no responsibility for keeping their members safe...if I could give this a -10 I would because that is just completely garbage...If they have the nerve to charge people then they should have the responsibility of looking out for their own members. Stay away from this site at all costs.

But the very worst part is the alerts “so and so wants to meet you” which is utter nonsense. The Carousel is ABSURD. You can’t view the person's profile and must base your decision SOLELY on a photograph!!! This is as fricken’ shallow as it gets. I should decide if I want to even move forward based on a SELFIE!!!! OH, COME ON!
Don’t even get me started on the Profiles themselves. Most of these people are deluding themselves with their flowery descriptions of the “perfect” date. When I attempted to log on today, nope couldn’t do it, couldn’t get a password, change email, NOTHING. FINALLY... they can’t process my refund because it went through Apple. I recently signed up Zoosk. I do not pay the membership yet because I wanted to see how that works. I can’t contact anyone though I can see who wants to contact me. Somehow a guy sent me a message with his phone number when I was online, I don’t know how he did that. We started communicating, he told me he’s a business man, I went to LinkedIn to check, his photos in LinkedIn and zoosk don’t look like they are the same person, but he said if I request he will accept me. So I let my guard down. He told me he’s doing a big business, gross profit would be a few millions after done.
I did suspect he’s a crooked because to me that business doesn’t need a middleman. After a few days he wanted to borrow money from me, I cut off contract with him immediately. I can’t make a solid conclusion on him that he’s a liar. I never want to think bad about someone I never meet. But his photo in premium page is gone. I have to realize some people come to the site for different purpose. I feel I should tell my story to warn people about this. The beginning bad experience won’t stop me to find my Mr. Right. He was more focused on receiving more pictures, and not on the misfortune I experienced. He became paranoid when I didn't return his calls in a timely manner, or when he couldn't reach me. I have tried other online dating sites which were all disappointing but Zoosk was by far the worst. I must have sent 100 likes, messages, and smiles to women I thought was attractive. It was like a ghost town. There were about 3-4 overweight women that contacted me of which I said hello. I am not an unattractive man. I have never had any problems striking up a conversation with women before, so I know better than that. I can't quite put my finger on the treatment people give each other on these sites, especially Zoosk.
You can't send a picture with your message. There is no selection for political affiliation. Their mobile app has problems with crashing. I bought a three month subscription and it is worthless. Like I said, I have sent out numerous messages and likes, but get no reply from the women who are in my age group, and who I think is attractive. I can see that they have supposedly seen my message and looked at my profile but no reply. Very disappointing.

Zoosk is not worth the time or money. You can put in all your preferences (age range, body type, ethnicity, relative distance to you, etc.) yet when it comes time to do the Carousel (where almost 100 random women are presented for a Yes or No selection) most of the women (and men probably as well) do not fit your criteria at all. Furthermore, the ones you say NO to on Carousel, will reappear the next time you play another round. It's just a shotgun approach of throwing any and everything at you, regardless of your preferences. It's a big waste of your time. There are probably better websites worth your time.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!! It is a scam. I signed up for 6 months with a special discount. After loading and using my profile, I determined the following: They do not follow the search criteria you list. Some of their recommendations are hundreds of miles away and out of your suggested age range. Many of the profiles (particularly attractive women) are no longer in effect, thus you get no response from the notes you send. Then Zoosk keeps telling you that the ones you tried to contact, or just viewed, have viewed you.
My profile was hacked and gradually changed. First my name was changed, then my photos deleted and replaced, then the wording of my profile changed. I discovered this about 6 hours after successfully using the site. I could not get back on the site because my login data was compromised. The only way I could go back on the site was to use a different email address and recreate my profile. That was unacceptable. I quit the site, asked them to delete my payment info and asked for a refund. Of course, “their” policy did not allow refunds. If you read the other comments below, Zoosk is notorious for charging you in the future, even after you have quit the site. I have contacted my credit card company and any charges from them will be disputed. Don’t get SCAMMED like I was. Avoid this site. There are other alternatives that work much better.

This site is simply designed to take your money and give nothing of value in return. They even charged an activation fee of $25-really? $80 for nothing. Even with the search filter set for local woman, they give you profiles of women who live 400-4000 miles away. I believe many profiles are outdated and just kept there as bait- usually attractive women, which, not surprisingly, are rare. Twice, there was a third-party "cupid/matchmaker" woman, telling me that that someone was "crushing on me" but too shy to contact me. She told me she was getting off the site because she had found someone and was getting married, but her friend who lived in Regina (like me) was looking over her shoulder (in Ottawa) and really liked me.
When I got back to her that same day and addressed the fact that "how could someone be looking over your shoulder if they live 1000's of miles away", she and her profile suddenly disappeared. I even tried to contact this "woman" who liked me, and told her I liked her- no response. Surprise surprise! As though they haven't scammed you enough, they try to milk you for money for coins, which allow you to know if someone has read your message or not. Really? They have a feature that inserts conversation tidbits for you, (like we need that).
I was talking to a very attractive woman (who lived in Vancouver, of course- me in Regina), who was babbling about how clever and attractive I was, (hot-heels, skirt, the whole nine yards-way out of my league) and this insert happened. I mentioned this to this "woman" (Toadie/Zoosk employee is more like it) saying I think I am being scammed, and she disappeared-not just from the "conversation"- she disappeared off the site, never to be seen again! Overnight! Zoosk even bothered to keep the charade going for several conversation exchanges before this happened. That"woman" never reappeared on Zoosk site again...
They also have a feature telling you someone has "viewed you"-when you click on it, it dekes you out and takes you elsewhere. Another feature asks if you "like someone"- it doesn't tell you anything about them other than the photo- not where they live, or anything. How can you tell if they are of interest to you if there is no info? I have heard that most of the attractive posted profiles are out-dated and just kept there as bait-I am 100% sure this is the case..
I gave up on dating sites and all the scams and fake people years ago, but had no choice but to get back on because meeting anyone now is all but impossible. I deeply regret giving them my money. I have spoken to a couple of real women and they all said the same thing- profiles belong to people who live 100's or 1000's of miles away. This site should be sued, taken off the internet and forced to pay back their victims-it is a highly predatory outfit which is prospering in this pandemic-they all belong in jail-this is a very very dishonest money grab and nothing more. I have read that they will cancel your subscription with no money back if you speak ill of them- I don't doubt that in the least.

Then I started getting notifications that so and so viewed you. I checked out the profiles and then I started getting all these Zoosk notifications that so and so messaged you. So after seeing about a dozen people sent me messages I decided to subscribe and replied to every message I supposedly got and have never got 1 response back.
I sent my thoughts in a complaint to Zoosk support and they told me to try harder and gave me a gift of 250 credits so I could use them to see if someone read mine or sent me a message. Coincidence I don't think so. I got baited into thinking I had all these people wanting to chat and come to find I got zero responses! Do not waste your time and money. Pros,
2. It has a mobile app.
3. It's an easy website to use.
4. The search engine is decent.
Cons,
1. Unless you pay for a membership it's useless to be on the website because most members will not paid the extra money for the privilege for anyone to email them.
2. There are different tiers of memberships so some features you don't get with the basic membership.
3. Unless you purchase a multi-month membership the price isn't reasonable at all.
4. Now to the juicy stuff. Zoosk WILL NEVER PERMANENTLY DELETE YOUR PROFILE. I emphasize this because even if you deactivate your account if you happen to be a good looking person they'll keep your profile up making it look like they have more desirable members and use it to make people think they have people interested in them. These are ghost profiles.
5. Though I have met real people on Zoosk there aren't that many real profiles with new websites like Bumble, Tinder and SnapChat. Websites like Zoosk and even POF are dying because of the newest swipe platforms.
6. If you're not all that good looking then don't even bother signing up for Zoosk (or any dating site come to think of it). Sadly looks are going to be 99.99% of anyone's success online.
7. Lastly make sure you not only cancel your membership ahead of time, but also inform your bank or credit card service TO NOT PAID ZOOSK ANYTHING so they don't rip you off. I've heard complaint from people that Zoosk took money from them even after they cancelled their paid subscription.
8. Don't be on the site for more than a month tops because after that you'll mostly see the same profiles and very few new ones so the monthly packages aren't worth it.
All in all with the pandemic going on it was a great way for me to kill time, but if you have other way of meeting women I'd avoid Zoosk (and most other dating sites).

Zoosk will ignore your desired mates and send what I think are fake, model like profile pics expressing interest, which is not what I'm searching for thankfully...or sell you their "Boosted" membership. Your profile will appear before anyone else's which I think a waste of money??? More importantly, found out this week that poor members cannot "block" Boosted members at all! You will think they are blocked until they suddenly reappear in your Messages box the very next day. This went on for weeks before I reached out to Zoosk expressing my concerns as I was clearly becoming harassed by a man I was blocking daily...choosing the "harassment" entry as my reason.
Instead of blocking his access to me...which I'm told they can do, they chose to ignore my cry for help to get the extra money he paid for "Boost." I spent over a week sending them screenshots of him per their request...Their answer to my feeling this man was creeping me out? 15 more days on site and 250 coins I guess to buy him a gift???! I cannot believe all of the time I just wasted on formatted email replies with names assigned to them so you think you're connecting with live rep who cares about your privacy and Zoosk's not so reliable reputation. I cancelled. Too weird for me. The matches were so far from my initial " dream" man checklist I have to assume it's due to lack of members as I am not a bad match...just won't settle because they lost members due to stunts like this! I was too lazy to join more reputable site but now's the time! That's if a real person sends me real refund as promised! Keep your money. Try others as I should have done!
